Am I A Bad Person?
I've been spending the past hour sending e-mails to the dipwads at Deadspin (i.e., Gawker 2.0). Specifically, the ones who don't want to stick to sports and feel like opining about what an awful person Trump is and how we're racists, sexists, bigots, homophobes, xenophobes and more, just for supporting him.

There's a lot of butthurt over there today, and I've sent out four e-mails; three of them were basically shoving their noses into a pile of shit while the fourth one was much more professional in tone, simply pointing out that his political instincts and analysis were all wrong.

Here's my question - do I keep kicking sand in their faces, or should I stop here? I should probably opt for the latter, lest they start talking to each other and decide to go after me, which would be nice, as it would allow me to point out their intolerance.

Thanks,

A Straight White Self-Employed Male

#4  Nah, just understand that they never understood 'consent of the governed' mistaking it with 'only people who agree with me' and their concept of democracy is as in 'People's Democratic Republic' kind.

This simply is delaying the inevitable blood rending civil war as they demonstrate they'll never consider any other point of view. Their problem is they lack the means and ability to carry it out, once again failing to understand the environment and requirements and expecting to win simply by their own corrupted sense of 'virtue'. The historical record shows it's going to take a lot of blood to adjust such attitudes. As the old Sarge said, 'are you prepared to die on that hill?' A lot of people came out yesterday and said, yes. Now a rationale human perceiving as such would sit back and reevaluate if they want to die on that hill too, instead of going into hysterics and lower primate behaviors. So, the clock will continue to click down.

#5  Now a rationale human perceiving as such would sit back and reevaluate if they want to die on that hill too, instead of going into hysterics and lower primate behaviors.

Funny you mention that - I was considering the paradox of liberals, who generally want big government, who flip out at a Republican victory when, if government was smaller and less obtrusive, it wouldn't matter much if at all.

When something comes up on a tax return, the first thing I ask myself is 'Did I make a mistake?' I'm pretty sure that's the last question they ask when something goes wrong.

Mostly peaceful protests in Laficornia on Trump victory
The election of Donald Trump to the presidency sparked protests early Wednesday across California, drawing crowds to city streets and college campuses. The demonstrations reflected self-indulgent sadness, drunken anger and bursts of incoherent rage. Crowds openly disavowed the president-elect and a few resorted to vandalism.

Shortly after Trump delivered a victory speech in New York, an estimated 2,000 people rallied at UCLA when two separate demonstrations merged into one, said UCLA police Sgt. Miguel Banuelos. The group marched from the UCLA campus through Westwood Village to a federal building on Wilshire Boulevard, Banuelos said. There were no arrests.

The demonstration peaked about 1 a.m., when a Trump piñata was set on fire in a trash can outside a Westwood Boulevard store. The small blaze aside, no major incidents were reported and police said the crowd was mostly peaceful.

N.J. Omorogieva, 19, said she was “heartbroken” by the election’s result when she spotted the crowd in Westwood while walking home.

“Of course I joined in,” she said. “To give hugs to people who were overcome by devastation.”

In Oakland, demonstrators smashed a window at the Oakland Tribune newsroom and ignited trash containers and tires, police said.
Home of the Raiders, you know...
The crowd broke windows on five businesses and vandalized another, said Oakland police spokeswoman Johnna Watson. One citation was issued but no one was arrested, she said.
Why not?
Protesters also burned Trump in effigy, KNTV reported.

At UC Santa Barbara, hundreds marched near the campus, with some chanting, “Not my president. Not my president.”

One person carried a Mexican flag, according to video posted by the student newspaper, the Daily Nexus.

About 500 students marched through the La Jolla campus of UC San Diego, protesting Trump’s win and chanting his name with an expletive.

At UCLA, some students lifted their arms up while demonstrating in Westwood Village. Others chanted, “Not my president,” according to social media users who documented the scene on the ground.

Demonstrations were also reported in downtown Los Angeles, at UC Santa Cruz and UC Irvine.

A throng marching in Oakland chanted, “Who’s got the power? We got the power.”

Protests in the Bay Area city centered downtown and also saw a march along Highway 24, where a woman was struck by an SUV. She was rushed to the hospital with “major injuries,” California Highway Patrol Sgt. Matt Langford told the San Francisco Chronicle.

Small fires in Oakland also prompted the closure of a Bay Area Rapid Transit station.

In downtown L.A., anger simmered as a crowd gathered near City Hall. Some property was defaced, including a fence scrawled with graffiti insulting Trump.

About 200 people demonstrated near Cal State Los Angeles and another 50 were at Pershing Square, said LAPD Officer Norma Eisenman. There were no arrests.

But the mood was more buoyant at the president-elect’s star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood, where a small crowd of about 30 Trump supporters gathered about 1 a.m. They posed for pictures and chanted with delight.

“This is our president,” they cheered as they tried to shout down a small band of counter-protesters.

The crowd, many of them wearing the candidate’s signature “Make America Great Again” hats, chanted “USA” several times.

Two Los Angeles police officers were posted nearby and moved the crowd apart at one point to return wooden construction materials on top of the spot. The wood was installed recently after Trump’s star was defaced.

Diane Mendez, 23, a Trump supporter who volunteered at a polling place, said she came to celebrate what she saw as a turning point.

“He said he would bring jobs back to America. We all need jobs,” Mendez said. “Who doesn’t need jobs?”

At USC, students rallied around the statue of Tommy Trojan, located in the center of the private university’s campus in South Los Angeles. One Twitter user described it as an “open forum,” with members of the USC community sharing reactions on Trump’s election.

#31  It's really very easy to explain. Everyone, whether genetically, or whatever, has the yearning and a sense of the divine, God, or strong spiritual connection with something beyond us mere humans. And that is a good thing. But when you are waiting for the human Messiah, you project the spiritual and divine on Dear Leader. And when Dear Leader comes up short, you are devastated. Look at kings that were considered gods, look at Stalin, Hitler, Jim Jones, Bernie Sanders. They were just human. What a let down. Well, gotta Man and Woman up and get on with life and learn a lesson. Or climb in the freezer and be a snowflake.

Some Americans look to Canada, NZ as Trump surges to victory
[Reuters] Canada's main immigration website appeared to crash and New Zealand reported increased traffic to its website for residency visas from U.S. nationals in the hours before Donald Trump surged to victory in the U.S. presidential election.

Canada's main immigration website appeared to suffer repeated outages on Tuesday night as Trump took the lead in several major states and his prospects for winning the U.S. presidency turned markedly higher. In the following hours he won most of those states.

In New Zealand, immigration officials told Reuters on the eve of the vote that New Zealand Now website, which deals with residency and student visas, had received 1,593 registrations from United States citizens since Nov. 1 ‐ more than 50 percent of a typical month’s registrations in just seven days.

Visits to New Zealand Now from the United States were up almost 80 percent to 41,000 from 7 Oct to 7 November, compared with the same period last year.

Rod Drury, the chief executive of NZ-based global accounting software firm Xero, said the statistics matched up with interest his company has been seeing from prospective U.S. national employees concerned about a Trump win.

Drury said what started as a joke was becoming a reality.

#15  AMERICAN DIGEST NEWS SERVICE
DATELINE: OTTOWA, November 9, 2016

Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau today ordered all 215 members of Canada's armed forces to the porous southern border to stem the tide of tens of millions of disgruntled members of MoveOn, Democratic Underground, IndyMedia, Daily Kos and other assorted weeping moonbats that have begin to surge towards the socialist haven to the north in search of asylum.

"We feel their pain," said the PM, speaking to two reporters at a hastily called press-conference, "but we simply can't let in any more 'sunshine' Americans. We did that during the Vietnam years and our mental health care system is still groaning under the load.

"To let in more of Les fou Americans at this point would pretty much overload the sidewalk spaces already staked out by Canada's homeless."

Europe
Legendary Mossad Spy and Nazi Hunter Warns Europe to Close Borders
[Breitbart] Legendary Israeli spy Rafi Eitan, the man who caught the architect of the Holocaust Adolf Eichmann, has told Europe to stop immigration.

The former officer of the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad, is well known in Israel and abroad after 56 years ago capturing notorious war criminal Eichmann. At the invite of the populist Freedom Party (FPÖ) Mr. Eitan told an audience in Austria that Europe must "lock [her] borders", reports Austria’s Kronen Zeitung.

When asked his opinion on the security situation of Central Europe in the wake of the migrant crisis over the last year, Mr. Eitan stated: "The Muslim world is markedly different from Western culture," adding: "When there are Muslims, now, in every European country, we must expect violence and terror."

The former spy also warned that there were many extremists now living in Austria and Europe that will "make a Muslim country out of Germany or Austria".

When asked what he thought the solution to the current migrant crisis was, Eitan gave a clear response: "Three points of advice: First, stop immigration, set your limits, and secondly, give money for incentives , so that the refugees go back to Syria or to Iraq. Thirdly, do not let them have any spare time."

Israeli Herut party leader Michael Kleiner joined Mr Eitan on his trip to Vienna and also commented on the current situation in Austria. "Do not try to kill thousands of mosquitoes, just drain the swamp," he said, adding that Austria must tackle terrorism as a global issue from the source rather than try and deal with individual terrorists and Islamists on a case-by-case basis.

Mr. Kleiner noted that immigration has to be balanced because, he said, that if there are too many migrants coming from areas like the Middle East and North Africa en masse it would result in events like the New Year’s Eve sex attacks that occurred in Cologne, Germany.

The Israelis were invited to Vienna by the anti-mass migration FPÖ who have reached out to the nation in recent years to build connections with the Israeli right. National Councillor David Lasar said the party are happy with the visit and that they will join Mr. Eitan at two events in the coming days that mourn victims of the Holocaust.

The approval from one of Israel’s most well-known intelligence experts may give FPÖ presidential candidate Norbert Hofer yet another boost ahead of the delayed election in December, after he was recently referred to as a "Nazi" by former European Union head Manuel Barroso.

While Hofer remains the favourite against former Green Party leader Alexander Van der Bellen, polls show the vote will likely be very close.

Shocking the world, Donald Trump wins US presidency
[Jpost] Donald Trump will become the 45th president of the United States and its commander-in-chief, a stunning achievement for a complete novice to governing whose campaign was written off by the nation's political class.

He defeated Hillary Clinton, the first female presidential nominee of a major party and a former first lady, senator from New York and secretary of state.

The election of Trump may be the greatest political surprise of the modern era, after the Republican nominee trailed national and state-by-state polls for over 100 consecutive days.
Who now remembers the Wikileaks email wherein Mr. Podesta laid out exactly how he wanted the polls skewed? It seems that published polls, along with masses of Soros money, no longer influence votes as once they did. Think of it as evolution in action.
The New York real estate tycoon‐ with no experience in public service‐
...but plenty in sales and marketing...
has proposed a ban on all Muslims from entering the US homeland, a wall on the nation's southern border with Mexico, a trade war with China, a softening with Russia and a ruthless war against Islamists across the Middle East.

Trump wins Pennsylvania - and the White House
Donald Trump has won the state of Pennsylvania, the Associated Press reported, giving him a total at least 275 electoral votes ‐ and the presidency.

Earlier in the night, Trump won the Midwestern states of Wisconsin and Iowa, Fox News reported, netting the Republican 16 electoral votes and making Hillary Clinton’s path to the White House extremely narrow ‐ and increasingly unlikely.

Trump’s win in Pennsylvania marks the first time a Republican has won in the Keystone State since 1988. In Wisconsin, Trump broke a 32-year losing streak for the GOP, becoming the first Republican since Ronald Reagan to carry the state.

Syrian regular capture a key hill in Aleppo
[al-Manar] Syrian army and the allied forces managed on Tuesday to regain full control over the 1070-Apartment complex and the surrounding farms and hills southwest Aleppo city, amid a continuous counter-terrorism operations across the country.

A military source said that restoring control over the 1070 complex was achieved after army units carried out military operations and engaged in heavy clashes with terrorists of Al-Nusra Front, the “Turkistani Party,” and other terrorist groups affiliated to the so-called Jaish al-Fatah.

The source added that 10 SUV vehicles equipped with machineguns were destroyed during the operations, in addition to capturing a number of vehicles including armored ones, killing tens of terrorists, and injuring others.

The source pointed out that army units are chasing the remaining terrorists who are fleeing the area while engineering units are dismantling the explosive devices and landmines that were planted earlier by the terrorists in the area’s buildings and streets.

In Daraa, army units carried out operations against gatherings and fortifications of terrorist groups affiliated to Al-Nusra terrorist organization in a number of neighborhoods in Daraa City and its western countryside.

In Daraa al-Balad, a military source reported that an army unit killed a number of terrorists, injured others and destroyed one of their fortified positions in precise bombardments against their gatherings, adding that one of the terrorists’ radio-controlled aircrafts was shot down while flying in the surroundings of the area of Bilal al-Habashi Mosque.

An army unit also carried out bombardments against a gathering of terrorists to the northeast of the silos in al-Yadouda village, 5 km to the west of Daraa City, destroying a number of terrorists’ fortifications and hotbeds and an amount of their arms and ammunition.

In rural Damascus, army units established control over the route extended from south Drousha toward Khan al-Sheeh in Damascus countryside, and destroyed one terrorists’ command center and four military vehicles.

In Hama, 27 terrorists were killed and 30 others were injured in Syrian airstrikes and artillery fire on gatherings of terrorists affiliated to Jaish al-Fateh in Hama province’s northern countryside.

Moreover, Syrian airstrikes and artillery fire targeted fortified positions and concentrations of terrorists in the city and its northern countryside, killing and injuring 87 gunmen and destroying 15 of their vehicles.

20 die in Syrian, Russian airstrikes in Idlib
The Russians are back
[AAWSAT] Air strikes launched by regime and allies air power in Syria, next to artillery fire has reportedly killed at least 20 people, including 10 children, in the largely opposition-held Syrian province of Idlib on Tuesday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The Observatory, a Britain-based war monitor, said Russian or Syrian regime warplanes pounded the rebel-held town of Khan Sheikhoun, killing seven children and two pregnant women. Warplanes and government artillery also killed 11 people in the village of Baarbo in the southwest of the province, the monitor reported.

“The Russian Defence Ministry has denied information reported in multiple foreign media outlets about alleged strikes by the Russian Air Force in the region of Khan Sheikhoun near the city of Idlib,” Russia’s TASS news agency quoted a ministry spokesman as saying on Tuesday.

Syria’s war pits authoritarian Bashar al-Assad, supported by Russian air power and Iranian-backed militias, against an array of internationally-backed opposition groups.

Idlib contains the largest populated area of Syria controlled by the Syrian opposition – including nationalist groups under the banner of the Free Syrian Army (FSA)and Jabhat Fateh al-Sham.

The miracle that did not happen
[The News (Pak)] Some of us ‐ I can’t say how many but a good number certainly, in this number included battalions of retired officers who are always waiting for miracles to happen ‐ were eager for something to happen round about the end of October and the beginning of November.

The march on the capital ‐ which as we know well by now did not quite turn out to be anything like Mussolini’s march on Rome when his Fascist Party seized power ‐ we took to be the catalyst that would set things in motion. The capital would be paralysed, compelling the real battalions to move and the oligarchs to run for cover. No one quite spelled it out this way but this was the general outline of the miracle that was fondly, perhaps foolishly, expected to happen.

Two things happened instead. The march fizzled out before it began. It was a tactical blunder, a foolish masterstroke, to announce a march, and the capital’s seizure, beforehand. Even wars are not announced this way. You strike first, whether at Pearl Harbour or the invasion of Iraq, and make the formal declaration of war afterwards. That’s what cold start doctrine is all about ‐ stealthy, lightning attack first and everything else later. Take away the element of surprise and before even the first shot is fired half your advantage is lost.

2 Kops die in small arms attack in Balochistan
Unidentified gunmen on Tuesday killed two policemen in Naseerabad district area of Balochistan.

“Armed men opened fire at policemen in Dera Murad Jamali area of the district, which killed both personnel on the spot,” said police official.

“Policemen were patrolling on motorcycle when they were attacked by armed militants in the area. Deceased policemen were identified as Essa Khan Bugti and Buland Khan Gola,” police official added.

The assailants escaped unhurt from the spot and no militant group claimed responsibility for the attack.

Security forces on Tuesday evening also claimed to have foiled a major bid of terrorism by demolishing four camps of alleged militants in Balochistan's troubled Dera Bugti district.

“Two suspected militants along with weapons were arrested during the operation, said Spokesman for Frontier Corps (FC) Khan Wasey.

“Two alleged militants belonged to an outlawed Baloch militant organisation operating in the area,” Wasey added.

Balochistan has been experiencing incidents of violence and targeted killings for over a decade. The largest province of the country by area, is home to a insurgency by ethnic Baloch separatists and banned religious outfits.

36 suspects on trial for bombing attack
Ankara-The trial of 36 suspected ISIS group militants has begun on Monday in Ankara for Oct. 10, 2015 double suicide bombings that killed more than 100 people in the capital just over a year in the deadliest attack in Turkey.

The bombing outside Ankara’s main train station targeted mainly young people attending a peace rally of pro-Kurdish activists that was to start later that day.

The twin suicide bombing took place in NATO member Turkey 20 days before a fiercely contested general election, raising tensions between the authorities and opposition supporters among the Kurdish community, Turkey’s largest minority.

Thirty-five of the suspects are Turkish while one –Valentina Slobodjanjuk – is a Kazakh citizen.

Several of the suspects face multiple sentences of up to 11,750 years in prison each on charges of murder and seeking to change the constitutional order.

Others have lesser charges of being a member of ISIS and face up to 22.5 years in prison.

The hearing took place under the highest security, with security forces in body armor and helmets standing guard inside the courtroom, images showed.

The authorities have identified one of the suicide bombers as Turkish citizen Yunus Emre Alagoz; the other was a Syrian citizen who has yet to be identified.

ISIS has grown increasingly active in Turkey, which has in the last year been hit by a string of major suicide bombings blamed on ISIS including a triple attack at Istanbul’s main airport in June that left 47 dead and an August blast at a Kurdish wedding in the southeastern city of Gaziantep that killed 57 people, 34 of them children.

ISIS, which is believed to operate sleeper cells in major Turkish cities, never claimed these attacks.

A news agency affiliated with ISIS said they staged a bombing on the southeastern city of Diyarbakir last week that killed 11. If confirmed, it would be the first claim by ISIS for an attack in Turkey.

But Sunday, the Kurdistan Freedom Falcons (TAK), seen as an splinter group of the better-known Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), said it had carried out the attack.

A final round of strikes against Sirte was unleashed by attack helicopters on October 31, after which the Pentagon briefly contemplated suspending the campaign. But ground forces continued struggling to push IS fighters out of their final bastions in the shattered town, and US planners have decided the bombing must continue.

2 die in mortar attack in Sinai
[al-Manar] Two civilians were killed by mortar fire in Egypt’s restive Sinai Peninsula on Monday, according to a local security source.

Three people were also injured when mortar shells struck two homes in North Sinai’s city of Rafah, the source said anonymously due to security concerns.

Egyptian authorities have yet to comment on the attack, for which no group has claimed responsibility.

Northern Sinai has seen an uptick in militant attacks in recent weeks in which dozens of soldiers were killed.

The Egyptian security forces continue to wage a fierce campaign — involving elements from both the police and the army — against what they describe as Sinai-based “extremist groups”. Egypt’s army-backed authorities say they are battling the Welayat Sinai (Province of Sinai) group, which is said to have links to the so-called ‘Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant’ (ISIL) terrorist organization.

Scores of ISIS Bad Guys die in airstrikes

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – Tens of Islamic State fighters were killed and many others were wounded in airstrikes by Iraqi F16 and Sukhoi fighters in Mosul, Nineveh, and Rawa, Anbar, media officials with the Ministry of Defense said on Monday.

The F16 airstrike in Mosul, ordered by Iraqi national intelligence services, targeted a huge ammunition cache in the eastern section of the city, totally destroying it, and killing 12 ISIS fighters, media officials with the Ministry of Defense reported.

Iraqi joint forces, assisted by Kurdish Peshmerga troops and international coalition forces, continue a major, weeks-old campaign to liberate Mosul, ISIS last stronghold in Iraq, dealing the group serious losses in lives and equipment.

In Rawa region, Anbar, Sukhoi fighters pounded five locations used by ISIS as shelters, wounding nine of the militants and destroying eleven of its vehicles, according to the officials.

Rawa had fallen to ISIS in mid 2014. Government and tribal forces are preparing for a widescale operation to liberate the region.

Burglar flees with arrow in buttocks after Australian pensioner shoots intruder with bow
[RT] An Australian pensioner resorted to Robin Hood-style tactics, shooting a bow and arrow at an intruder, in an effort to stop him from fleeing his home with stolen goods.

The burglar was struck in the buttocks with the medieval weapon Sunday afternoon as he tried to steal the 68-year-old homeowner’s car from the Sydney residence.

The culprit already had appropriated the man’s car keys, a large amount of cash and other property in his possession at the time of the incident.

As the robber tried to reverse the stolen car out of the garage in Wattle Grove the homeowner confronted him with a bow and arrow, causing him to crash the car into a fence, according to police, as reported by ABC.

The perpetrator then fled the car and jumped a fence towards a parked Mazda Tribute but before he reached the car he was hit in the buttocks area with the bow and arrow.

"We believe the arrow may have struck the offender in the buttocks or the lower back region," Detective Inspector Dean Johnstone said.

Police are continuing to hunt for the burglar and have inquired with local hospitals to identify anyone treated for an injury consistent with this incident.

"We're asking anyone in the medical profession ... to contact police if a person comes in with a wound [consistent] with an arrow striking them," Johnstone said.

Baghdad Bomb and Bullet Bulletin

ISIS Big Turban dronezapped near Tarimiya

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A drone airstrike killed on Monday Islamic State’s so-called “military commander of the states of Iraq and Diyala,” according to media officials with the Ministry of Defense.

The commander, nicknamed Abu Mariam, was killed in a drone attack in Tarimiya, north of Baghdad, the officials reported.

ISIS has been witnessing several losses in lives and space since Iraqi joint forces and US-led coalition forces began an extensive campaign in mid October to liberate ISIS-held regions, most notably the city of Mosul, Nineveh, the group’s most outstanding and last bastion in the country.

Reports confirmed that the group lost on Monday its senior propaganda movie maker, Shehata al-Masry, and its chief treasurer, Fares Abu Bakr in security offensives in Mosul.

The group had also ceased to refer to Mosul as the capital of its proclaimed “Caliphate” and is reported to have been transferring its fighters’ families outside the city.

1 wounded in bomb attack near airport

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A civilian was wounded when an IED blast rocked a street leading to Al-Muthana Airport in central Baghdad, Alsumaria News reported.

The civilian was “accidentally passing by at the moment of the explosion,” the network said, adding that the man was transferred to a nearby hospital.

Since the US invasion in 2003, Baghdad has occasionally witnessed booby-trapped cars explosions, suicide bombings and IED explosions, besides attacks targeting civilians and security workers, leading to the death and injury of scores of people most of the time.

The wave of violence increased when Islamic State militant extremists took over large parts of the country in 2014.

Minutes earlier before the explosion, an employee at the Ministry of Education was killed by gunfire from unknown attackers outside his residence at al-Sadr city, east of Baghdad. Reasons for the assault are still to be investigated.

Nigeria plans to attack Shias during Arba’een ceremonies: IMN
[Iran Press TV] The Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) says it has received information that the Nigerian army plans to attack processions scheduled for the mourning rituals of Arba’een.

The group’s front man, Ibrahim Musa, said on Tuesday that military intelligence officers had told the IMN that the attacks will be launched against processions scheduled for November 20 that marks 40 days after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein, the third Shia Imam.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shattered spaceship, Fffflirgoll the Arcturan slithered stealthily toward the control room, where the humans had barricaded themselves...
the London-based Islamic Human Rights Commission has called on Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure the safety of mourners taking part in the procession.

Last month, at least 20 people were killed and several others injured when Nigerian forces shot up Shia mourners commemorating Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (Peace be upon him).

The Nigerian state of Kaduna also banned the IMN as the state crackdown against the Moslem community continues.

In December 2015, Nigerian forces raided the house of the IMN’s leader Shia Moslem holy man Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky and tossed in the clink
Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages!
him after killing those attempting to protect him, including one of the movement's big shots and its front man.

The raid occurred a day after Nigerian soldiers attacked Shia Moslems attending a ceremony at a religious center in the city of Zaria, accusing them of blocking the convoy of the army’s chief of staff and attempting to assassinate him.

On August 1, the Islamic Human Rights Commission released a report, saying the Nigerian army killed 348 Shia Moslems during the attack on the religious ceremony.

2 Army jawans killed, 5 injured in heavy Pak shelling on LoC
[Daily Excelsior] Two Army jawans were killed and five others injured when a mortar shell fired by Pak troops hit their vehicle at Janghar in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district, where heavy exchange of shelling and firing took place between Indo-Pak troops during the day while several houses and power transformers, household items and crops were also extensively damaged.

Troops launched massive counter offensive against Pakistain and inflicted significant damage on the enemy destroying their three posts namely Battal, Pimple and Bump across Salhutri between Balakote and Mendhar sectors. Four Pakistain army personnel were eliminated in the counter action that was necessitated to prevent civilian casualties as all these three posts were targeting civilian areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in Mendhar and Balakote sectors for past few days.

Official sources told the Excelsior that an Army vehicle, which was on way from Nowshera to forward posts of LoC was hit by a mortar shell in Janghar area this afternoon. NY drug trial starts for two nephews of Venezuela's first lady

Efrain Antonio Campo Flores, 30, and Francisco Flores de Freitas, 31, were incarcerated

in Haiti in November and flown to New York by US Drug Enforcement Administration agents.

They are sons of brothers of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro's wife Cilia Flores. She also served as speaker of the National Assembly from 2006 to 2011.

The men have denied charges that they plotted to smuggle 800 kilos (1,764 pounds) of cocaine into the United States.

Prosecutor Emil Bove argued that the men believed they were powerful because they are close to Maduro. Their attorneys suggested however, they were not crafty enough to be plotting or carrying out the business of which they are accused.

The accused also are facing the charges due to political motives, their defense maintains.

Besides the Haiti case, the two men are accused of taking part in meetings to plan a shipment of cocaine to the United States via Honduras.

The attack took place in Limani village near the Nigerian border, Col. Bouba Dobekreo, commander of a regional joint force said.

The soldiers were patrolling between the villages of Wambeche and Limani when a mine planted by Boko Haram bandidos snuffies went kaboom!, Dobekreo added.

Less than two weeks ago Boko Haram raided a village in the same region, killing three villagers and setting fire to more than 50 houses.

MHP leader voices support for arrests of HDP deputies
[AA.TR] The leader of the opposition Nationalist Movement Party has voiced support for the arrests of Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) deputies.

At his party's parliamentary group meeting on Tuesday, Devlet Bahceli made clear his party's position on the arrest of HDP deputies.

"The fundamental duty of the state is to bring people who say 'I do not recognize the law’ to justice," said Bahceli.

"Qandil's law is not valid here, but The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
's law is," stressed Bahceli referring to the Qandil Mountains in northeastern Iraq where the terrorist organization PKK is known to have camps and its headquarters.

"Nobody should forget [...] that the betrayal to Turkey has never gone unpunished," said Bahceli.

Since last Friday, a total of 10 HDP politicians, including co-chairs Selahattin Demirtas and Figen Yuksekdag, were remanded in jug for failing to answer public prosecutors’ summons concerning an ongoing counter-terrorism probe.

Diyarbakir deputies Ziya Pir and Imam Tascier, and Ankara Deputy Sirri Sureyya Onder were released under judicial control.

"Being elected does not give the right to aid and abet in a crime," said Bahceli adding that those who wanted to topple the constitutional order could not be forgiven.

Bahceli also criticized the main opposition Republican People’s Party's (CHP) position on the arrests.

"Considering this as an occasion of mourning by the CHP is not reciprocated in the nation's conscience," he said.

The CHP has said the arrests were "against the constitution".

Bahceli also addressed the HDP's suspension of its parliamentary activities.

"The Turkish Grand National Assembly is on duty. Nobody goes into mourning for the decision of terror's stooges," he said.

HDP, on Sunday, announced the suspension of its parliamentary activities following the arrests.

The government has accused the HDP of links to the PKK, which is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU.

Iraq
Peshmerga forces announce capture of Iraq’s Bashiqa
[AA.TR] Kurdish Peshmerga forces Tuesday "entirely liberated" Iraq’s town of Bashiqa northeast of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, a Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) official has said.

Jabar Yawar, head of the KRG’s Peshmerga Ministry, said the district had been entirely purged of ISIS elements after Peshmerga forces captured the town center Monday.

Peshmerga fighters, he said, were currently clearing the area of landmines and booby-traps planted by members of the terrorist group.

According to Anadolu Agency correspondents in Bashiqa, festivities continue to break out sporadically between Peshmerga fighters and Lions of Islam holed up in homes and tunnels.

The majority-Ezidi town of Bashiqa lies some 12 kilometers (roughly 8 miles) to the northeast of Mosul, ISIS’s last bastion in northern Iraq.

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
has a longstanding military training mission at the nearby Camp Bashiqa, where Turkish soldiers have trained both Peshmerga fighters and local tribal volunteers in combat techniques.

In recent months, the mission’s presence in northern Iraq has led to a degree of tension between Baghdad and Ankara amid calls by some Iraqi politicians for Turkish troops to withdraw from the area.

Last month, the Iraqi army -- backed by U.S.-led coalition Arclight airstrikes -- launched a wide-ranging operation aimed at retaking Mosul.

In mid-2014, ISIS captured Mosul, Iraq’s second-largest city, before overrunning vast swathes of territory in the country’s north and west.

Recent months have seen the Iraqi army, backed by local allies on the ground and the U.S.-led air coalition, retake much territory, especially on Mosul’s outskirts and in Iraq’s western Anbar province.

7 top Taliban commanders killed in Helmand airstrike
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] At least 7 top commanders of the Taliban group were killed in an Arclight airstrike in southern Helmand
...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan...
province of Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) said Tuesday.

MoD further added that the Arclight airstrike was carried out in Garamser district, leaving 7 Taliban capos dead and 7 fighters of the group maimed.

According to MoD, Mullah Mujahid, Mullah Agha Mohammad also famous as Mullah Mashar, the former shadow district chief of the group, Mawlavi Mustafa and Mawlavi Hedayat were among those killed.

The Talibs group has not commented regarding the report so far.

Helmand is among the volatile provinces in southern Afghanistan where the Taliban snuffies are actively operating in its various districts and often carry out insurgency activities.

A huge weapons cache belonging to the Taliban group was discovered and destroyed in this province last month as the group was looking to use the weapons for executing attacks against the Afghan forces.

The cache included 10 rocket launchers, 400 rifle grenades, 12 hand grenades, 54 BM-16 rockets, 200 PK machine gun bullets, 5 cycle of violences, one radio handset and some amount of explosives.

Officials in the 215th Maiwand Corps of the Afghan National Army (ANA) earlier said a factory producing Improvised Explosive Device (IED) for the Talibs was destroyed during an operation of the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) in this province.

Three Indian 'undercover agents' leave Pakistan
[DAWN] Three out of eight Indian High Commission officials suspected of involvement in terrorist and subversive activities in Pakistain left for India on Tuesday.

Anurag Singh, Vijay Kumar Verma and Madhavan Nanda Kumar, allegedly members of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW

Rajesh Kumar, Amerdeep Singh Bhatti, Dharmendra Sodhi, who are also alleged members of RAW, are still in Pakistain, along with Balbir Singh and Jayabalan Senthil, who are said to be Indian Intelligence Bureau (IB) operatives.

The FO during a press briefing last week revealed details of the eight Indian 'diplomats' in Pakistain, saying that a number of "Indian diplomats and staff belonging to Indian intelligence agencies RAW and IB have been found involved in coordinating terrorist and subversive activities in Pakistain under the garb of diplomatic assignments."

The FO said the alleged RAW and IB officials are suspected of handling Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain (TTP) factions, fueling secatarianism in Pakistain and creating unrest in Balochistan

Charges eyed vs student for false info about Abu Sayyaf
[CEBUDAILYNEWS.INQUIRER.NET] The Carcar City Police is studying what action to take against a teenager, who posted on her Facebook page a false information about a supposed Abu Sayyaf
...also known as al-Harakat al-Islamiyya, an Islamist terror group based in Jolo, Basilan and Zamboanga. Since its inception in the early 1990s, the group has carried out bombings, kidnappings, murders, head choppings, and extortion in their uniquely Islamic attempt to set up an independent Moslem province in the Philippines. Abu Sayyaf forces probably number less than 300 cadres. The group is closely allied with remnants of Indonesia's Jemaah Islamiya and has loose ties with MILF and MNLF who sometimes provide cannon fodder...
group allegedly cornering a Ceres Bus in Barangay Ocaña, Carcar City, Cebu.

Chief Insp. Jose Liddawa, Carcar City Police Chief, said they were considering pressing charges against the 17-year-old Information Technology and Communications student of a school in Argao town, who posted the false information on her FB page last Nov. 7, to stop others from also spreading false information on social media.

A person could be held liable for spreading a hoax or false information under two penal laws‐Presidential Decree No. 90 of 1973, which penalizes rumor mongering and spreading false information and Republic Act No. 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

"But if we don’t do anything, this might lead other malicious Facebook users to follow and spread more false information," said Liddawa.

Liddawa said that there were never any Abu Sayyaf group in the city and that what happened last Monday night was only a vehicular accident. "I was at the cop shoppe that night and we’ve never tracked such report. Malakas lang siguro yung imagination nung batang ’yun," Liddawa said in a phone interview.

According to Sky News Arabia, the incident -- which has not yet been confirmed by official Egyptian sources -- took place south of the town of Sheikh Zuweid, in the northern Sinai.

Brazile Sent More Debate Questions From CNN To Clinton
[DAILYCALLER] Democratic National Committee interim chairwoman Donna Brazile has already lost her contributor contract with CNN for leaking questions from a CNN town hall to the Clinton campaign. Monday night’s WikiLeaks release of emails from the personal account of Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta reveals Brazile sent even more questions ahead of the event, one that went to Hillary Clinton, the other was asked of Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

On the day before the event, Brazile sent the following under the heading “UNIONS.”
Secretary Clinton, yesterday in St. Louis, you spoke at carpenters and others “who built this nation.”

Both you and Senator Sanders depend on big union support. President Obama pushed for a massive infrastructure bill that would mean millions of jobs for in this area. Yet many of these trade unions have locked out Blacks and other minorities for years. Will you call a meeting with them before November, and if you win, when you are president, to demand that the trade unions stop freezing Blacks and others from these good paying jobs?

The official transcript of the town hall on CNN’s website has Roland Martin, one of the moderators, saying:
Secretary Clinton, yesterday you were in St. Louis, and you talked about carpenters and the rebuilding of the country, the folks who built this nation.

And, both you and Senator Sanders have significant union support, yet many of the trade unions that — we walk about built the country, they’ve locked out black folks and other minorities for decades. Would you, even right now, and even as president, call a meeting with the trade unions and say it’s time for you to open up those doors and bring in more African-Americans and Hispanics, and others be because those are high-paying jobs. And, if we keep saying rebuild America with a huge infrastructure and billions of dollars, they’re the ones who are going to do it. And, black folks and others are going to be left on the outside looking in.

Gunmen free 21 prisoners in southern Mali town - justice minister
[AlAhram] Unidentified gunnies freed 21 prisoners in the southern Mali town of Banamba late on Sunday in what Mali's justice minister described as a "terrorist attack".

Mamadou Ismael Konate said on Monday the six attackers had wanted to release "two terrorists" but said they had already been moved to another town.

Konate said one prison guard had gone missing after the raid but he provided no further details.

An army front man said the attack had occurred around 2100 GMT on Sunday.

It was not immediately clear who was behind the attack but Islamist groups such as Ansar Dine
...a mainly Tuareg group that controlled areas of Mali's northern desert together with Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) and MUJAO in early 2012...
have stepped up their insurgency in Mali this year, carrying out more than 60 attacks on United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...
and other targets since May and spreading south into areas previously deemed safe.

"I heard gunshots as I was getting ready to go to bed around 2300," said Banamba resident Yacouba Doucoure.

"Later I learned there was an attack against the army camp and the prison."

The attack on the army camp could not be immediately verified by Rooters.

A soldier for the U.N. mission known as MINUSMA was killed in an attack on a convoy in the Mopti region of central Mali on Sunday, MINUSMA said in a statement.

Islamist groups hijacked a separatist Tuareg rebellion in 2012 to seize major towns in Mali's vast desert north and declare sharia, or Islamic law.

Forces from former colonial power La Belle France drove them back a year later, but they have kept bases in remote desert locations.

Gunmen kill five Niger soldiers as Mali insurgency spreads

[Ynet] Heavily armed gunnies riding motor bikes and other vehicles raided a village and killed five soldiers in Niger near the border with Mali early on Tuesday, the interior ministry said, amid signs of a growing Islamist insurgency in the region.

Dozens of attackers entered Banigabou, about 20 km (12 miles) from the frontier before dawn - gunshots rang out for two hours, said residents.

The ministry did not name the raiders, though Islamist holy warriors based in Mali's desert north have been pushing south towards its capital and over borders in the fragile Sahel region

Afghanistan
Afghan Taliban Reject Proposed Islamic Scholars Conference
[VOA News] The Afghan Taliban urged Islamic scholars on Tuesday not to let a proposed international religious congress become a means of legitimizing the Western-backed government in Kabul
...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either....
In a message sent to the "noble scholars of the Islamic World", the Taliban said its fighters were engaged in a jihad against Western invaders and the conference should not be allowed to be interpreted as support for the "aggressors".

"The transgressing enemy now wants to pacify the Jihadi uprising of the Afghan nation through misleading propaganda, psychological warfare, undercover plots, fake fatwas and other non-military tactics like grinding of the peace processores," it said.

Afghan government Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah
... the former foreign minister of the Northern Alliance government, advisor to Masood, and candidate for president against Karzai. Dr. Abdullah was born in Kabul and is half Tadjik and half Pashtun...
said during a visit to Riyadh last month that an Islamic scholars' conference on the situation in Afghanistan would be held in Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, although no firm date has been announced.

The Taliban statement said the proposals were backed by the Afghan government's High Peace Council as a cover to deny legitimacy to the Lion of Islam movement.

"They want to present the sacred Jihad in Afghanistan which is on the brink of success as unlawful bloodshed which opposes the texts of Shariah and defames the name of Jihad," it said.

The message appears to put a dampener on hopes of reviving the stalled grinding of the peace processor which broke down last year almost immediately after preliminary talks began in Pakistain.

Since then, there have been various efforts to get the process started again, including a series of talks involving the United States, Pakistain, China and Afghanistan but none has so far had any success.

The Taliban has dismissed previous Islamic scholars' conferences in recent years, seeing them as instruments to grant legitimacy to the Kabul government and undermine its own position.

Professional politician Charlie Crist wins Florida House race
[FOXNEWS] Sunshine State voters have given former Gov. Charlie Crist the second shot in Florida politics that he’s long sought.

Crist, a Republican-turned-independent-turned-Democrat, beat incumbent Rep. David Jolly on Tuesday in the race to represent the 13th Congressional District, helping Democrats in the mission to make slight inroads into the Republican House majority.

The 60-year-old Crist, who was governor from 2007 to 2011, ran for the Senate as a Republican in 2010 but lost in the primary to the eventual general election winner, future Sen. Marco Rubio – who was victorious again Tuesday in his own re-election bid.

ISIS sets up cachement areas near Syrian border

(IraqiNews.com) Anbar – Islamic State militants are now closing the borders with Syria to prevent their Iraqi fighters from escaping battles to the Syrian city of Raqqa, a senior intelligence officer at al-Hashed al-Shaabi paramilitary forces said Tuesday as the extremist group continues to succumb to defeats from attacks by Iraqi joint forces.

Nazem al-Jugheifi, a Hashed al-Shaabi intelligence commander in Haditha, Anbar, said ISIS closed Tuesday the Qaim border crossing with Syria. “With that measure, the group seeks to prevent the escape of its Iraqi fighters and their families from Annah and Qaem to Raqqa in Syria,” he said, referring to ISIS’s stronghold in Syria.

“The group forced its Iraqi members to stay at their locations and fight,” he added.

Security sources in Anbar had told Alsumaria News that ISIS militants and their families had been escaping Annah region to Syria. Other reports had said that the group executed a number of members who failed to stand up to fighting in Mosul.

ISIS has been sustaining severe losses in lives and ground since Iraqi joint forces, assisted by US air forces, launched an offensive in mid October to retake Mosul, the group’s last bastion in Iraq. Security and allied paramilitary forces are also workin g to liberate other areas held by ISiS across the country.

ISIS lists out suicide bombers as inspiration for their prospective dead meat

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – The self-proclaimed Islamic State is now revealing the identities and nationalities of its suicide bombers as means to “boost the morales” of its fighters, Alsumaria News reported on Tuesday.

The group has unveiled the identities of 20 suiciders who carried out bombings against security forces in Mosul over the past three days, according to Alsumaria, which explained that those are holding seven Arab and Western nationalities.

“ISIS media outlets intensified its activities over the past hours inside Mosul, especially at districts located on the eastern coast that witness the group’s greatest presence,” Alsumaria said. “ISIS media spelt out the identities of 20 suiciders who carried out booby-trapped vehicles and explosive belt attacks on several security locations over the past 72 hours.”

“Those included an Emirati national for the first time, nicknamed Abu Khattab,” Alsumaria explained. “Through declaring the identities of their suiciders, ISIS are seeking to raise the devastated morales of their fighters caused by the flagrant losses they had sustained in several cities and villages,” Alsumaria added.

Iraqi joint forces and US aircraft continue operations to liberate Mosul from ISIS. The campaign has been largely successful so far with the group reportedly losing a lot of ground and lives.

ISIS seeks to bribe Hawija residents with supplies
"God Bless the child who got his own..."

(IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – Islamic State militants are trying to gain favor with the people of Hawijah, Kirkuk, with goods as a way to reduce their indiginance on the militant group, Alsumaria News reported on Tuesday.

“ISIS are trying to gain the sympathy of Hawijah people by giving out a bar of soap and half a kilo of lentil,” Alsumaria said, adding that people are shunning the fighters’ advances.

Alsumaria added that the group is possibly preempting any attempts by civilians to attack its members or locations.

The group’s so-called “Diwan al-Mal” (treasury), providing the supplies to citizens, urged them not to give ear to news about the fall of ‘the state of Nineveh.

The group took photos of the supplies to its sympathizers to give an impression that it provides food supplies to residents of the area, Alsumaria explained.

“Humanitarian conditions in the area are worsening due to hiking prices of food supplies, with all roads linking the area with Nineveh and Salahuddin cut,” Alsumaria added.

Hawijah fell to ISIS in June 2014, becoming one of its most important havens after Mosul. Many families of ISIS fighters have reportedly abandoned houses in the area they had previously taken over as Irai security and paramilitary forces advance towards the city to liberate it.

100 executed found in Hammam Al-Alil

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – One hundred headless dead bodies were found inside the Faculty of Agriculture south of Mosul, Nineveh, as federal police toured the liberated neighborhood of Hammam Al-Alil, media officials with the Ministry of Defense reported.

“Iraqi forces, having liberated Hamam al-Alil neighborhood, and inside the Faculty of Agriculture, ran into a new crime discovering one hundred dead bodies of citizens,” the officials reported, blaming the massacre on extremist Islamic State fighters.

“Specialized teams will be sent to investigate that heinous crime,” said the officials.

Since it took vast parts of Iraq in 2014, ISIS has become notorious for beheadings and brutal executions of its local opponents and foreign workers, posting shocking footage of the executions on its internet outlets.

The city of Mosul is currently the stage for battles between ISIS fighters and Iraqi joint forces seeking to clear the city of ISIS. Mosul is centrepiece of ISIS’s proclaimed “Caliphate”, but the group ceded reference to the city as ts capital under the brunt of losses it has sustained due to the security offensive.

Civilians flee ISIS held Raqqa for Syrian rebel lines

[ARA News] Raqqa – Hundreds of displaced civilians have arrived in areas recently captured by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), having fled from the Raqqa’s countrywide. These Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) have suffered extreme deprivations.

This internal migration comes just two days after the SDF, a pluralist secular coalition, launched the Euphrates Wrath Operation. The campaign’s ultimate goal is the isolation and capture of Raqqa city – the Islamic State’s (ISIS) de facto capital in Syria.

Civilians in Raqqa countryside have reportedly begun evacuating their villages to avoid being used as human shields by ISIS militants. The SDF has reminded civilians to be cautious as jihadists have a long history of using human shields.

Each IDP has his or her own harrowing story of flight. Those who spoke to ARA News described starvation, fuel shortages and extreme forms of persecution in the would-be Caliphate.

Fatima, a 44-year-old woman from Raqqa, told ARA News: “After violence intensified in our area, we escaped. We came here looking for safety.”

Since the launch of the Euphrates Wrath Operation on Sunday, the Syrian Democratic Forces have captured 11 villages in an area measuring approximately 15 km².

The SDF General Command told ARA News that ISIS has retreated from major parts of Raqqa’s northern countryside. Rather than trying to stand their ground, the extremist group is now relying on mines, car bombs and suicide squads.

Speaking to ARA News, several SDF officers expressed concern for the endangered civilian population. They believe that the number of displaced civilians may increase dramatically once their fighters push into the Raqqa city.

Khalil Muhammed a 61-year-old IDP from Raqqa, told ARA News: “We thank the SDF for helping us. We’ve arrived at the safe haven now. We have suffered a lot.”

More on Mass Graves from Arab News
BASHIQA, Iraq: Iraqi Kurdish forces have seized the town of Bashiqa near Mosul from Daesh, an official said Tuesday.

Capturing Bashiqa would be a final step in securing the eastern approaches to Mosul, three weeks into an offensive by Iraqi forces to retake the country’s second city.

Iraqi troops have also seized the town of Hamam Al-Alil, south of Mosul, and Tuesday investigators carried out an initial examination of a mass grave site discovered in the area.

Bashiqa was under the “complete control” of Kurdish peshmerga forces, Jabbar Yawar, secretary general of the Kurdish regional ministry responsible for the fighters, said.

“Our forces are clearing mines and sweeping the city,” Yawar said.

An AFP correspondent on the outskirts of Bashiqa said clashes were ongoing, with three air strikes hitting the town and gunfire and an explosion heard.

The peshmerga said there were still some suicide bombers and snipers there, and that about five percent of Bashiqa remained under terrorists’ control.

Iraqi forces have been tightening the noose around Mosul since launching the offensive on October 17, with elite troops last week breaching city limits.

Iraqi forces scored another victory against Daesh on Monday by establishing full control over Hamam Al-Alil, about 15 km from the edge of Mosul and the last town of note on the way to the city from the south.

They said a mass grave was found at an agricultural college in the area, with the offensive’s Joint Operations Command saying “100 bodies of citizens with their heads cut off” had been uncovered.

An AFP journalist Tuesday said body parts and bones were visible among rubbish dumped there.

Men in Iraqi security forces uniforms used ropes to pull two bodies, one headless, from the grave, and also removed a decapitated head.

“Today, the team conducted an initial examination,” said Mohammed Taher Al-Tamimi, an Iraqi Cabinet official.

Al-Tamimi said the victims had been blindfolded with their hands and feet bound.

He said around 25 bodies were initially visible, but investigators believed there “very large numbers” of corpses there.

Dhiyab Tareq, a 32-year-old from the area, said he had heard shots when Daesh carried out executions at the site.

“I was sitting close to the door and heard the gunshots,” Tareq said, adding that the next day Daesh members boasted about killing security forces members.

Daesh’s rule has been marked by atrocities including mass beheadings and other executions that it has documented in photos and videos that its supporters share online.

The United Nations said Tuesday that terrorists’ “forcibly moved about 1,500 families from Hamam Al-Alil town to Mosul airport” on November 4.

The UN has warned for weeks that Daesh is making civilians living in districts around Mosul move into the city.

NY Daily News: Madonna Won't Honor Promise to Fellate Hillary Voter
And thank goodness for that -- another epidemic averted.
[Breitbart] Author Gersh Kuntzman tried to get Madonna to honor her lewd promise to gratify Hillary voters and filmed himself doing so.

From the New York Daily News:

It’s another broken campaign promise.

Madonna has withdrawn from her pledge to provide some, er, satisfaction to Hillary voters, the latest disappointment in an election season full of them.
There are many, many relieved voters. Not all of them men...
The singer had famously promised the oral sex last month -- "And I am good," she added, lest anyone question her gratification qualifications -- but when a Hillary supporter, armed with a selfie of his ballot, showed up to claim the prize, he was greeted with derision.

"Ha ha ha ha," laughed the security guard at her Madgesty’s Upper East Side manse. "I didn’t get that information, sorry, man."

He then hung up, leaving a reporter with the ultimate hanging chad. Indeed, given that I was the only man seeking to have my ballot punched, I wanted to ask a follow-up question: Was Madonna upset that no men showed up to be rewarded for saying "I’m with her"?
Not even if she hummed "Material Girl."

In crackdown on illegal guns, IDF shutters 2 West Bank workshops
[IsraelTimes] Paleostinian event hall outside Jerusalem closed after warnings to cease celebratory gunshots were ignored.

In early-morning raids Tuesday, Israeli troops shut down two workshops that were allegedly used to produce illegal weapons in Jenin and outside Hebron, the army said.

The raids were part of the army’s recent increased effort to curb the production and sale of illegal guns in the West Bank. Thus far this year, the army says it has shut down 37 illegal gunsmithing workshops and confiscated more than 370 weapons.

Aimless air attacks target Al-Fatayeh district in Derna as clashes draw out
[Libya Observer] Dignity Operation fighter aircraft haphazardly bombed Tuesday morning the residential area in al-Fatayeh district, Derna. The bombing targeted houses and farms for the residents.

"Haftar is bombing al-Fatayeh to coerce residents to leave." A source from Derna Shura Council indicated.

Clashes found their way into the district on Monday evening in Derna’s Martuba suburban town, where Haftar’s militias and Derna Shura Council fought following the declaration of al-Fatahyeh as a military zone by the self-styled al-Mukhtar Operations Room.

Light and medium weapons were used in the festivities between the two parties in the vicinity of Omar al-Mukhtar University building in Derna and no casualties were reported, media says.

Concurrently, the member of the High Council of State (HCS) for Derna, Mansour al-Hasadi, issued a statement urging the Tobruk-based House of Representatives and the UN-proposed government’s Presidential Council to take a decisive stance and stop the bombing of Derna.

"You should put the kibosh on the constant shelling of Derna even if you would enlist assistance from the international community." He told the HoR and the PC, adding that the UN that is sponsoring the political agreement must take up its responsibility by implementing the items of the agreement, most importantly, ceasing armed conflicts and protecting civilians.

Derna has been undergoing an inhumane siege by the Dignity Operation forces for months with recurrent Arclight airstrikes following the liberation of the city from IS Lions of Islam by the city’s revolutionaries.

Russian experts are supporting Haftar’s forces via Egyptian-Emirati assistance
[Libya Observer] A number of Russian experts arrived in the eastern region to support Khalifa Haftar
... served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all...
’s Dignity Operation forces, The New Arab reported Tuesday.

"The Russian support is conducted through UAE and Egyptian mediation assistance." The newspaper added.

It also reported Libyan reliable sources as saying that the Russian experts had arrived in the areas where Haftar’s forces are in control.

"There are tens of them and they are specialized in different war-related fields." The New Arab added, saying that those were the first group out of other ones as per an agreement between Haftar and Russian officials.

It also explained that the agreement aims to reassemble Hafatr’s forces, renew the weapons system they have, and overhaul the air and naval defense systems.

"The whole air force system used by Haftar’s forces was overhauled by the Russian experts." The London-based newspaper said according to its own sources.

It indicated that the Libyan-Russian ties are being woven by the Emirati and Egyptian assistance, adding that many meetings between Tobruk government and Russian officials have been taken place in Cairo for a year, resulting in these agreements and procedures on the ground.

"Military deals are on the table between Tobruk camp and Russia and they are worth 4 billion dinars." The New Arab stated, concluding that other military groups specialized in training will also arrive in the east.

In Raqqa offensive, Kurds seek 'insurance' against Turkish attack

(IS) group out of Raqqa. But the bitter rivals are more concerned with keeping each other in check than tackling the jihadist bastion.

The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) made their move on Sunday, announcing the start of their offensive to capture the IS group's de facto capital. The coalition ‐ which includes Arab groups but is dominated by the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) ‐ engaged in skirmishes with jihadist fighters north of Raqqa, and warned Turkey against interfering with the operation.

The long-expected move has angered Ankara, which also claims it should lead the battle for Raqqa. Turkey sees the YPG as an appendage of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), its mortal foe that has fought for decades for independence for Turkey's Kurdish minority. Turkish authorities accuse the Kurds of seeking to take over Arab lands, including Raqqa. They are calling for time to train Arab forces to liberate the city.

According to Fabrice Balanche, a Middle East expert and visiting fellow at the Washington Institute, neither side has the means ‐ or the will ‐ to tackle the jihadist bastion. "For the Kurds, Raqqa is an insurance policy against Turkish aggression," Balanche told FRANCE 24. Conversely, "Turkey sees Raqqa as a pretext to break up Kurdish territory and prevent the establishment of a Kurdish state," he added.

Balancing act
Among the multiple actors in the Syrian conflict, the YPG and its allies have emerged as the most potent ground force in the battle against the IS group. In pushing toward Raqqa, they hope to cement their standing as the West’s indispensable partner in Syria. Indeed, the US and its allies have welcomed news of the Kurdish-led offensive, dubbed "Wrath of the Euphrates", and promised air support.

The international coalition battling the IS group is eager to keep the holy warriors on the defensive in Syria and Iraq, where it is helping local forces, including the Kurdish peshmerga, recapture the northern city of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
. La Belle France, in particular, wants to neutralize the jihadist group’s capacity to strike abroad, with the anniversary of the November 13, 2015, attacks in Gay Paree looming. Western intelligence agencies believe such attacks are planned in Raqqa.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Round-up of voting problems across the country
The Daily Mail did a round-up of their own. Click on the headline above to see what they found. Also:
Houston: Man claiming to test system for Trump arrested for voting twice

[IsraelTimes] Texas authorities say they arrested a man who claimed to be working for Donald Trump for voter fraud. Phillip Cook, Jr. was arrested after trying to vote for a second time at a polling station in an unincorporated area outside of Houston on Tuesday. Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls says Cook told poll officials and sheriff’s deputies that he was helping the Trump campaign and testing election security. Nehls said Cook was booked on suspicion of a felony charge.

Election watchdog: Some voters denied provisional ballots at several polling stations in Atlanta

[Ynet] An election watchdog said Tuesday some voters were denied provisional ballots at several polling stations in Atlanta.

Georgia Election Protection coalition spokesman Harold Franklin said poll mangers refused to provide provisional ballots to voters. He said the group received reports that voters were given no reason for being refused. Franklin claimed voters who are eligible or entitled to a provisional ballot were denied. He did not know the number of voters who were refused, but said the bulk occurred in Fulton County.

Franklin said he spoke with Fulton County election officials, who he said told polling managers to provide voters with ballots. The Fulton County elections office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Election Protection is organized by the Lawyers Committee for Civils Rights Under Law.

P'burgh: Some Trump Voters Reporting Ballots Switching To Clinton

[PITTSBURGH.CBSLOCAL] Today is Election Day and for the most part, voting has been smooth. Many areas are already seeing long lines with some officials saying they wouldn’t be surprised if voter turnout topped 80 percent.

However,
facts are stubborn; statistics are more pliable...
there have been some scattered issues where voters are encountering problems.

"Every time I would push a candidate for the Republican party, it would come up for the Democratic candidate," said voter David Drane.

Election judges in Clinton Township, Butler County confirmed there were issues with two of their eight automated voting machines. Most of the issues came when people tried to vote straight party ticket.

However,
facts are stubborn; statistics are more pliable...
others said they specifically wanted to vote for Republican Donald Trump only to see their vote switched before their eyes to Democrat Hillary Clinton
... sometimes described as Deplorable, Irredeemable and at other times as Mrs. Bill, never as Another Henry L. Stimson ...
"I went back, pressed Trump again. Three times I did this, so then I called one of the women that were working the polls over. And she said you must be doing it wrong. She did it three times and it defaulted to Hillary every time," Bobbie Lee Hawranko said.

Pennsylvania State Representative Daryl Metcalfe went to Clinton Township to check on the reports for himself.

"If somebody has an issue, they should certainly let the judge of elections at the precinct know and also call their county bureau of elections as folks have done here this morning," Pa. Rep. Daryl Metcalfe said.

Philadelphia: Multiple Reports of Voter Fraud Hit Social Media

[BREITBART] Around 8AM, the Philadelphia Republican Party tweeted, "court-appointed minority inspectors refused entry [to a polling location]. @PhillyPolice have been called."

An hour later: "Update: Ward 64-15: reports of electioneering. Our poll watcher has been barred entry."

Shortly thereafter: "Update: Ward 13-14: Won’t allow our minority inspector in, threatened to call police. Go ahead."

Then around 10AM: "Ward 4 divisions 10, 16, 17--illegal @HillaryClinton lit being distributed inside polling place."

And then: "Update: Ward 12-2 (NW Philly)--Sign-in sheet instead of clerk allowing anybody to come in and vote if they sign. Illegal."

During that same hour: "Court-appointed minority inspector at 17&Spring Garden--"I was just told... I’m not allowed to be in the room & ... to wait outside."

Then around 11AM: "Ward 37-9 (North Philly): Poll workers handing out Hillary lit inside polling station."

At 9:38AM this morning, a local election worker, Brittany Foreman, tweeted a video of her explaining voter fraud that she claims to have witnessed at her location, giving specific details in her account.

Most of these tweets were tagged with #VoterFraud.

Political analysts sometimes say that Pennsylvania is "Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Alabama," meaning that there are two Democratic strongholds in the Keystone State, surrounded by vast expanses of deep-red support for limited government, faith, marriage, and the Second Amendment.

Philadelphia is nothing short of notorious for voter fraud. One of the most infamous examples of voting-law violations in modern history was when The Justice Department secured a court judgment against the Black Panthers for a videotaped incident of voter intimidation, a case that after the government won but before enforcement could take place, Barack Obama

’s then-new Attorney General Eric Inaction Jackson Holder

to drop the case and let the Black Panthers go.

Denver: Woman Charged With Casting Dead Father’s Ballot

[DENVER.CBSLOCAL] Felony charges have been filed against a Golden-based certified public accountant for twice voting for her father, who passed away in 2012. In October prosecutors filed two felony forgery charges against Toni Lee Newbill, charging her with first voting for her father in a 2013 general election and then again casting a ballot for her father in a 2016 Republican primary election.

Her father, Ralph Nanninga, died in 2012 in El Paso County at the age of 86.

"It certainly wasn’t the best decision on her part but it was an act of outright frustration," said her attorney Chris Samuelson. He explained that after her father’s death, Newbill kept receiving ballots intended for her father -- a registered Republican -- and that she attempted to have him removed from active voter rolls.

"She received numerous ballots. She shredded some, she threw some away, she wrote on envelopes and mailed them back," Samuelson said.

But Samuelson said when she could not get her father’s name off the voter rolls, she became exasperated and voted for him.

"She did not intend to commit a crime, she did not intend to cast a ballot, she was just trying to get their attention."

In January 2015, the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder sent Newbill a form to have her deceased father removed from voting rolls. It’s unclear if Newbill completed and returned the form.

Precinct Clerks Fired, Volunteers Dismissed After Scuffle at Broward Polling Site

[NBCMIAMI] Two clerks from precincts in Pompano Beach were fired after a dispute that was the first issue in South Florida during Election Day.

Deputies were called to the Herb Skolknick Community Center after complaints of possible voter intimidation from the Democratic and Republican poll watchers at one precinct. That led to a dispute between the clerks from precincts 23 and 24 - one a Democrat, the other a Republican. Supervisor of Elections Dr. Brenda Snipes was notified and she fired both, ordering them to leave the property immediately.

David Booth, the Republican clerk of Precinct 23, tells NBC 6 he was one of the two clerks fired and told to leave the property. Replacement clerks were brought in.

"They brought in replacements for myself and the other woman who was the clerk at CO-23 and we were told to leave the premises," Booth told NBC 6. "It doesn't look good, it really doesn't look good, it looks like they're trying to do something dishonest."

Two poll watchers were also removed, according to a spokesperson for the supervisor of elections.

Woman Pepper Sprays Man at Jupiter Polling Place

[NBCMIAMI] Jupiter police are investigating an altercation that broke out Tuesday between a woman and a man at a polling place. Initial reports indicate a verbal dispute turned physical at the Jupiter Community Center. WPTV reports the woman was standing in line when Thomas Garrecht allegedly "violated her space".

According to the Palm Beach Post, Donna Tatlici was handing out Donald Trump literature when Garrecht yelled at her. As the dispute escalated, the two got closer and Tatlici pepper-sprayed the man, the Palm Beach Post reports. Garrecht reportedly grabbed Tatlici by the neck and tackled her.

Jupiter police say they will take the case to the State Attorney's Office and recommend assault and battery charges against Garrecht.

Garrecht was not taken into custody.

A few hours later, Palm Beach Sheriff's Office reported another fight at a polling place in Lake Worth. Deputies were called out to Royal Palm Presbyterian after two men got into a fight.

One man was shooting video using his cellphone of another man. The second man was upset about being recorded and slapped the man's phone out of his hand, deputies said. The first man then struck the second man causing him to fall on the ground. According to a police report, the the man who was struck feared for his life and alerted the other man that he had a weapon.

George W. Bush did not vote for Trump or Clinton
Despite all the spin going into Election Day, he did not vote for the Democrat.
[IsraelTimes] A front man says former President George W. Bush did not vote for Republican Donald Trump or Democrat Hillary Clinton
... sometimes described as the Smartest Woman in the World and at other times as Mrs. Bill, never as Another Henry Kissinger ...
Freddy Ford says the most recent Republican president voted "none of the above for president and Republican down-ballot." That means Bush voted for Republicans in congressional and local races.

It’s not a complete surprise. The Bush family includes the two most recent Republican presidents, but neither endorsed nor campaigned for the billionaire businessman who captured the party’s nomination.

1 dead, multiple people shot near Azusa polling station

[LATIMES] One person was killed and at least three others were maimed Tuesday in an active shooting near a polling place in Azusa. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Capt. Jeff Scroggin said police were dealing with at least one suspect who was heavily armed.

Few details were released about the shooting, which occurred sometime after 2 p.m. in a residential neighborhood in the area of Fourth Street and Orange Avenue, said Officer Jerry Willison of the Azusa Police Department.

"This is a very volatile and critical situation," he said.

Willison declined to provide the location of the shooting for the safety of the officers and the victims, he said. Azusa police urged residents to stay out of the area and asked all residents to shelter in place.

It was unclear whether any officers were maimed in the shooting, Willison said.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said they were assisting police.

Azusa Union School District issued a lockdown for Slauson Middle and Mountain View Elementary schools about 2:15 p.m., officials said. A nearby daycare center and preschool was also locked down.

Two More In Tennessee Sentenced In $10.8m Tax Fraud Scheme
[WDEF] KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) ‐ Two more people have received prison sentences in a scheme to defraud U.S. taxpayers by $10.8 million.

U.S. Attorney Nancy Stallard Harr’s office says 52-year-old Luis Carvajal of Loudon was sentenced to 30 month in prison for conspiring to submit false tax returns and commit money laundering. Fifty-year-old Amado Valdez-Morales of Oak Ridge received a 42-month sentence in the scheme.

Valdez-Morales, a Honduras citizen here illegally, also pleaded guilty to illegal entry by a previously deported felon. Once he’s released from prison, he’ll be subject to deportation.

A news release says the scheme included using fake ID documents to get refundable tax credits, resulting in $10.8 million stolen from taxpayers.

Carvajal faces about an $8 million fine. Valdez-Morales was fined $2.5 million.

Four others were already sentenced in the scheme.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Under surveillance in Russia
[AlJazeera] Towards the end of September, I received a few emails from Google informing me that someone tried to break into my email. It was not the first time I had received messages like that, so the first thing I did was check the email address from which they were sent. The links in the emails led to phishing websites made to look like Gmail and if I had put my password there, hackers would have gained control over my email.

In late September and early October, dozens of other Russian journalists, activists and workers in NGOs such as Transparency International received similar phishing emails. This is the biggest wave of hacking attacks on dissidents in Russia so far, but by far not the first one.

I have been encountering such phishing emails since 2014 and it is not a secret who is behind them. Back then in 2014, the hacking group which was behind such attempts was known as Pawn Storm; today after the attacks on the servers of the US State Department, this group has become known as Fancy Bear.

Just in case, I sent the emails to four different organisations dealing with cyber security and they confirmed that they originated from Fancy Bear/Pawn Storm. This is the group that regularly attacks people and institutions of interest to the Kremlin: from Russian opposition politicians and journalists, to NATO and US political organisations.

They are attacking not just email accounts, but also various messengers. For example, the Telegram accounts of two Russian activists - Grigory Alburov and Oleg Kozlovski - were hacked. The perpetrators managed to break in by intercepting the SMS confirmation sent through the mobile operator.

Some internet companies have also actively been cooperating with the Federal Security Service (FSB) and the General Administration for Combating Extremism. Those companies who do not cooperate with the FSB start facing problems. It was resistance to the FSB demanding access to the social networking site Vkontakte that resulted in its founder leaving his post as chief executive of his company and departing from Russia for good.

I was on a watch list for a while. It would happen that during a regular train ride, I would be approached and taken to a local police station for a "preventative chat". It would be a completely meaningless action whose only purpose was to make me understand: "We are watching you closely."

But these days, state surveillance has been expanding beyond spying on the usual suspects. Most recently, under the guise of a sociological study, a survey was carried out in Russian universities to probe protest activity and readiness. The organiser of the survey admitted that the information on all students who showed opposition attitudes were submitted to the authorities.

The state is not even trying to hide the extensive surveillance over its citizens. State TV and websites regularly release "leaks" discrediting public figures; they are usually obtained through email hacks, phone tapping and hidden cameras. Sometimes these "leaks" contain genuine information, sometimes they are fabricated and sometimes both.

All these instruments - following, threatening and campaigns for discrediting - are typical of the Soviet times and, of course, they are well-known to Vladimir Putin as a former KGB agent. But why is it specifically in the past few years that we see this intense activity of the secret services in controlling public sentiments?

The reasons are several and the main one is economics. For the first time since Putin came to power, the standard of living in Russia has started to deteriorate due to the drop in oil prices. Sanctions are exacerbating the situation.

According to the official statistics, the number of people living under the poverty line has increased over the past year and a half to 23 million people, while the proportion of the population which spends all of their money for food has almost doubled from 22 percent to 41 percent.

Some commentators have objected, saying that not everything is "so bad" since there are no mass protests. Regardless of that, the state over the past few years has done everything to rein in independent media and political movements.

It seems all this surveillance and intimidation is working quite well.

Turkish tanks deployed to stop PKK, Cavusoglu says
[AA.TR] The build-up of tanks and armored vehicles in the border town of Silopi will prevent PKK gunnies from securing a base in northern Iraq’s Sinjar region, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said Tuesday.

Reiterating earlier comments by The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
’s defense minister and president, Cavusoglu warned that Turkey would not stand by while the PKK expanded their influence across the region.

"We have taken our measures especially against the PKK, which is trying to turn Sinjar, under the guise of protecting Ezidis, into Qandil," he said, referring to the PKK’s main base on the Iraq-Iran border.

"One of the purposes of sending a certain number of troops and our armed forces lately is this. We will never allow such things. We will not."

Armored columns headed into Silopi, which lies on the Turkish border with Iraq and Syria, last week.

from ISIS has seen the PKK move into Sinjar, an area heavily populated by Ezidis that lies around 110 kilometers (68 miles) west of Mosul and around 100 km (62 miles) southwest of the Turkish border.

The PKK and its Syrian offshoot the PYD are listed as terror groups by Turkey although the U.S. and EU only view the PKK as a terrorist organization.

Cavusoglu was speaking at a parliamentary planning and budget commission in capital Ankara.

Last week, Defense Minister Fikri Isik said Turkey was not obliged to wait behind its borders if PKK gunnies moved into Sinjar. Previously, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
had warned that the terror group was already in the area.

Cavusoglu said Ankara had warned the governments in Baghdad and Erbil, capital of the Kurdish autonomous region in northern Iraq, as well as coalition officials against allowing a PKK foothold in the region.

Tuesday's arrests comes as the country awaits a live television show on the allegations made against Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama, due to be broadcast Nov. 15 or 16.

Jakarta police spokesperson Commissioner Awi Setiyono said Tuesday that the five are members of an Islamic organization involved in Friday's protest and they were arrested early Tuesday in various places in the capital.

"They are all members of the Islamic Students Association (HMI)," Setiyono told Anadolu Agency by phone.

The men are being held on charges of committing violent affray on Friday when trouble broke out outside the presidential palace after what had been a peaceful protest against Ahok by around 100,000 Moslems.

The governor -- a Christian -- is accused of publicly insulting Islam, however he says he was calling for people not to be "deceived" by those using a Koranic verse, Al Maidah: Chapter 51, not that the verse itself was insulting.

Setiyono said Tuesday that one of those held was a 23-year-old man caught on a news hound's camera trying to hit police with a bamboo pole.

"He attacked police after his friends did," said Setiyono. "They were provoked after someone read over loudspeakers that they should not be afraid [of the police] and move forward."

On Tuesday, national police spokesperson Commissioner Martinus Sitompul told Anadolu Agency that police would carry out President Joko Widodo's order to perform a transparent case screening on national television next week.

"The case is planned for Tuesday or Wednesday," said Sitompul.

The live legal broadcast is the first of its kind in Indonesia, and organized to answer any questions the public may have, while dealing with any accusations of bias

Turkey accuses US of arming Kurds
[al-Manar] Ankara accused Washington on Tuesday of arming Kurdish People’s Protection Units in Syria despite assurances to the contrary.

The United States continues to supply weapons to Kurdish forces in Syria despite assurances to the contrary, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said.

“The US says it does not give weapons to the YPG [People’s Protection Units], but we know that they do. We see that the YPG and the PKK [Kurdistan Workers’ Party] are the same and arming them is wrong. We know that the US continues to give them weapons, and we have expressed our concerns with the fact,” Cavusoglu said.

The diplomat stressed that similar mechanisms for better coordination exist not only with the US, but with other countries, including Russia.

Republicans gain three more states thus far in U.S. governors' races
[Reuters] Republicans in Missouri, Vermont and New Hampshire won competitive governor's races on Tuesday, though most of the 12 contests left power in the hands of the incumbent party.

Votes are still being counted in
North Carolina: Democrat Cooper held a razor-thin lead as of Wednesday morning. Republican Governor McCrory told supporters tallying an unknown number of provisional ballots could take until Nov. 18.

Montana: Democratic Governor Steve Bullock is battling Republican tech entrepreneur Greg Gianforte to keep his seat. The race remained too close to call on Wednesday morning.

The Grand Turk
Turkey deems EU foreign chief's comments 'unacceptable'
[AA.TR] The Turkish Foreign Ministry has said EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini's statements concerning The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
were "unacceptable".

In a statement released Tuesday afternoon, Turkey's Foreign Ministry said the EU "had lost credibility among Turkish people" concerning the fight against terrorism.

The European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
issued a statement Tuesday, calling on Turkey to "safeguard its parliamentary democracy, including the respect for human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
, the rule of law, fundamental freedoms and the right of everyone to a fair trial, also in conformity with its commitments as a candidate country."

The statement issued by Mogherini said the recent events in Turkey were "extremely worrying".

Turkey "should pursue" the PKK as a terrorist group but the arrest of politicians from "a legal Kurdish party was polarizing society," the statement said.

"A return to a credible political process and to a genuine political dialogue is essential for the country's democracy and stability in the region," it added.

Turkey's Foreign Ministry, in its statement, responded: "The EU -- which did not give us the support we expected from them after the July 15 coup attempt and adopted a prejudiced attitude -- unfortunately insists on not understanding Turkey's sensitivities regarding the fight against terrorism."

The co-chairs and several other deputies of the opposition Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) have been remanded in jug since Friday for failing to answer summons linked to a counter-terrorism investigation before public prosecutors.

The politicians face prosecution under anti-terrorism laws after their parliamentary immunity was lifted earlier this year.

Turning in. Maybe y'all can use this graphic.

Thanks for all you do.

As of 11:40 p.m. ET, Fox News projected the Electoral Vote count as

Trump 254
Clinton 209

with Trump wins in FL, NC, WI, IA. PA and MI still too close to call.

Fox also projected that the Democrats will gain net one seat each in the House and Senate, which would leave Republican majorities intact. We'll see what today brings, but here's hoping Blossom Unains5562's image called it.

#22  Dreaming....

They can't afford to lose Tea Partier Trey Gowdy's vote in the House, or his sharp mind. He needs to stay where he is until at least the next election. But he'll work happily with the new attorney general, I'm sure, and enjoy the increased influence his increased seniority provides.

Ted Cruz would be very interesting on the Supreme Court, though President Trump already has a list of candidates. It might be fun to put him on the Ninth Circuit court of appeals for seasoning in the meantime -- he'd enjoy shaking up that lot while waiting his turn for a top spot. But honestly, for the same reason that Trey Gowdy needs to stay in the House for a while, Ted Cruz needs to stay in the Senate. The Republicans can't afford to lose his vote, and he needs to rebuild the trust of his party and his voters if he is to have any chance at the presidency in the future.

Rudy Guilliani for Attorney General -- he has strong opinions on the cases against Hillary Clinton, as well as crime, corruption, and the War on Terror. He'll be a happy warrior as he cleans out the Justice Department stables.

Another one I'd like to see return to public service is former Virginia attorney general Ken Cucinnelli. He did a wonderful job organizing the group of states attorneys general to fight Obamacare through the courts.

Joe Arpaio heading ICE -- yes!!

And John Bolton -- it would be great fun to send Mr. Bolton back to the UN after their vacation with whatsername.

Secretary of State is a bit of a pickle. The clean up needed there is going to be another labour of Hercules -- the rot long precedes Mrs. Clinton, and is going to need a prosecutor's zeal as well as a diplomat's touch to handle that side of things.

He has a good working relationship with the Russians, especially FM Lavrov. Notice that they haven't directly disparaged him.

From my sources, he has a good rep among career State personnel, unlike his predecessor. He's also expressed frustration with the Obama inner-circle.

Even if it's only short term, his staying on might buy some international breathing room for Mr. Trump and his administration to articulate a coherent foreign policy (especially if there's aspects the others won't like.)

Lastly, it'll make the Left's heads spin.

In new political bloc, Misrata lawmakers demand support for Bunyan Marsous operation
[Libya Herald] Misrata members of the House of Representatives and the State Council have joined forces to demand the Presidency Council, the Central Bank of Libya and the Audit Bureau provide proper funding for the Bunyan Marsous military operation so that it can finish the battle against the so-called Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
in Sirte.

"The group of Misrata representatives follow with concern the continued demands by the Bunyan Marsus Operations Room for necessary financial support to run the military operations against ISIS in Sirte," a statement from them read.

The group comprises Omar Abu Leefa, Hana al-Arafi, Fathi Bashagha, Suleiman al-Fagieh, Aisha Ghaliwan, Belgassem Gzeit, Mohammed Hneish, Jamal Karwad, Mohammed Raied, Abdulrahman Sewehli and Mohammed al-Taib.

The group was formed as the united political block a couple of days ago, despite previous rivalries between some of them. Sewehli, for example, had tried to have Gzeit suspended from the State Council over a visit the latter made to Beida for talks with former GNC members who support Khalifa Hafter. Gzeit also condemned Sewehli’s move in September to declare the State Council as Libya’s sole legislature

The eleven have not gone the full step of creating a Misrata political party ‐ Sewehli still has his Union for Homeland party. Nor is it clear if the bloc created will be able to last. But it is clear that all Misrata’s politicians feel a strong need at present to defend their city’s interests on the wider Libyan political stage.

In their statement setting up the bloc, the eleven insisted that the Libyan Political Agreement provided the only means to ending the political crisis. They also rejected any move towards military control of the country.

"The civil authority is the supreme authority of the country in accordance to the democratic and constitutional laws," they said.

Berlin rejects Ankara's claim about Germany's support for 'terrorists'
[Iran Press TV] German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has rejected a claim by his Turkish counterpart that Berlin supports anti-Ankara "terrorist groups."

"Germany is the country that supports terrorist organizations against Turkey the most," Cavusoglu said in the Turkish capital Ankara. "The DHKP-C and PKK are carrying out activities in Germany, but they support those because they are against Turkey."

Rethinking Islamic fundamentalism
[The News (Pak)] The term ’Islamic fundamentalism’ has invariably been used in recent times to define the political radicalisation of fringe groups in Moslem states, groups that have haunted the political status quo both in the East and the West. The economic globalisation of post colonialism has tended to generate an international political milieu where it becomes hard to define any political event across the globe in the strict geographical sense.

The relationship of core and periphery in terms of globalisation is an important aspect to understand the rise of what is called Islamic fundamentalism. The core of the capitalist system benefit the most from globalisation whereas the peripheral economies of the developing world are adversely affected by it.

Islamism has risen in societies tarnished by the globalisation of capitalism on the one hand, and rise of postcolonial dependent politicianship in their societies on the other. The political and economic dependence these postcolonial societies inherited has perpetuated with the same intensity, framed in the models followed by the ruling elite of Moslem societies; these models could serve the interests of core economies only. The political reforms of Mustafa Kemal in the aftermath of the First World War were an attempt to modernise the traditional political and economic structure of The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

Islamic State sends car bombs against U.S.-backed forces advancing on Raqqa

They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
fighters launched a wave of boom-mobiles in northern Syria on Monday as U.S.-backed forces made the first moves in a long-awaited push to retake the murderous Moslems’ de facto capital.

The Kurdish-led military operation, announced Sunday, seeks to isolate the city of Raqqa in preparation for an assault that could deal a devastating blow to the Islamic State -- which is also fighting Iraqi-led forces in the northern Iraqi city of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
The two cities represent critical hubs for the Islamic State, and the twin offensives could cut off routes for supplies and reinforcements. In a rare audio recording released Thursday, the Islamic State’s leader, His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi

The rush of boom-mobiles that met the alliance, known as the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), offered an early taste of how ferocious the battle for Raqqa may become. The blasts occurred as the forces pushed south from the towns of Ain Issa and Suluk, about 30 miles north of Raqqa.

Iraq
Iranian commander met PKK leader in Iraq: News report
[AA.TR] The commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s elite Quds Force, Qasem Soleimani, recently met Cemil Bayik, a leader of the PKK terrorist group, in Iraq’s northern city of al-Sulaymaniyah, a Kurdish website has reported.

According to the basnews website, Soleimani asked Bayik to send PKK holy warriors in Sinjar to take part in an ongoing campaign aimed at capturing Iraq’s northern city of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
from the ISIS terrorist group.

Linked to the Kurdish Democratic Party (KDP), the basnews website is based in northern Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdish region.

While in al-Sulaymaniyah (also located in the Kurdish region), Soleimani reportedly promised Bayik that Iran would increase its financial and military support to the PKK if the group’s fighters took part in the Mosul campaign.

He also reportedly asked Bayik to bolster the PKK’s presence in parts of Iraq that fall within Iran’s sphere of influence.

According to the website, the meeting came directly after members of Iraq’s central government "provided facilities to the PKK in Baghdad in which to establish a military and political headquarters".

However,
some men learn by reading. A few learn by observation. The rest have to pee on the electric fence for themselves...
Shahfan Abdullah, an MP for the KDP and a member of the Iraqi parliament’s security and defense committee, pointed out that, according to an agreement with a U.S.-led anti-ISIS coalition, PKK holy warriors would be targeted if they approached Mosul from the Sinjar Mountain region.

This, he said, did not only apply to the PKK, but also to the Shia Hashd al-Shaabi militia and affiliated groups.

Established in mid-2014 with the express aim of fighting ISIS, the Hashd al-Shaabi is an umbrella group of pro-government Shia militias.

Abdullah went on to assert that Iranian military experts had recently visited the Mosul front and held a number of meetings with Hashd al-Shaabi leaders.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Kurdish govt denies claims it helps arm anti-Iran group
[AA.TR] Iraq's Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) on Tuesday denied remarks by a high-ranking Iranian official in which he said that KRG President Masoud Barzani had allowed the Saudi consulate in Erbil (the KRG’s administrative capital) to supply weapons to a group hostile to Iran.

The KRG described the assertion -- made earlier the same day by Major-General Yahya Rahim Safavi, a special advisor to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei-- as "baseless" and "lacking in evidence".

Such assertions, the KRG said in a statement, "serve to destabilize the long and friendly relations between the KRG and Iran".

"We challenge Safavi to produce a single document proving that the [Kurdish] regional government poses a threat to Iran," the KRG said, going on to voice hope that Safavi’s remarks did not represent official Iranian policy.

At a news conference held in Tehran earlier Monday, Safavi noted that the KRG and Barzani enjoyed "good relations" with Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, Israel and the U.S.

He went on to accuse the KRG and its president of allowing the recently-opened Saudi consulate in Erbil to supply arms to a group -- he did not say what group -- that was "hostile to Iran".

Kurd Wimmin to fight in Raqqa
[ARA News] Kobane – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) launched on November 6th a new military operation against the Islamic State’s (ISIS) capital, Raqqa, and have so far liberated several areas north of Raqqa Governorate. Several military factions are participating in the battle, known as the Euphrates Wrath Operation, among them the all-female Kurdish Women’s Protection Units (YPJ).

Nisrin Abdullah, the YPJ’s Official Spokesperson, told ARA News in an exclusive interview on Wednesday that their participation in the Raqqa campaign is aimed to free the people of Raqqa from ISIS suppression, especially the women.

“The Women’s Protection Units is one of the main factions participating in the anti-ISIS battle for Raqqa,” she said. “The YPJ units have experience in combat and military operations. We will play an effective role in the Raqqa campaign.”

“The Raqqa operation is highly important for us. Raqqa is different from any other city, as it represents the capital of the ISIS self-declared caliphate,” Nisrin told ARA News.

According to the Kurdish official, the YPJ is participating in the battle for Raqqa in response to a call by the women of Raqqa. “We assure them that we will fight, at the frontline, until liberating Raqqa,” she said.

“The YPJ has participated in most of the military campaigns in Rojava and northern Syria. Our women have joined the frontline and fought heavy battles. The YPJ has always played a leading role, especially in the fight against ISIS and in the liberation movement,” Nisrin said.

“We have earlier fought for Manbij and participated in liberating its people, especially the women, from suppression by ISIS terrorists. Later on we handed the city over to its people and we retreated towards our headquarters,” she said.

The YPJ spokesperson told ARA News that liberating Raqqa would mean defeating ISIS.

“This liberation would break down the radical group’s will and eventually lead to its collapse. However, this won’t be an easy battle, as ISIS has for long worked on fortifying the city. We expect this enemy to be highly prepared to fight for its main stronghold in Syria,” she said.

“We are freedom fighters, and we won’t stop until liberating our people from terror groups,” she concluded.

Iraq
Islamic State in Mosul abducts hundreds of former ISF soldiers, retreats with thousands of civilians
Islamic State (IS) fighters have abducted 295 former Iraqi Security Force (ISF) members from around Mosul and forced 1,500 families to retreat with them back to the militant stronghold, the United Nations human rights organisation says.

The abductions reportedly took place last week as Iraqi coalition forces backed by US-led air strikes pushed an offensive to recapture Mosul from IS militants.

About 100 of the former ISF officers were taken at around midnight on November 3 from Mawaly village, which is about 20 kilometres west of Mosul, while a further 195 were abducted between November 1 and November 4 from villages in Tal Afar district.

The abducted families were being taken from their town to Mosul airport, Ms Shamdasani said. The United Nations also had information that at least 30 sheikhs were abducted in Sinjar district in early November and taken to an unknown location — it was trying to verify a report that 18 of them had been killed on November 4 in Tal Afar district.
