China to Build Floating Nuclear Power Plant
What could possibly go wrong?

(Rooters) - China has started to build its first floating nuclear power reactor, which it plans to deploy off its coast by the end of the decade.

The 200-megawatt reactor will help power offshore facilities in China's open sea and island reefs, CGN said, adding that offshore energy supply is an issue that China has to overcome in order to become a naval power.
So they're going to build a nuke plant on a boat?

The FBI could not review all of the Hillary Clinton emails under investigation because:

The Clintons’ Apple personal server used for Hillary Clinton work email could not be located for the FBI to examine.

An Apple MacBook laptop and thumb drive that contained Hillary Clinton email archives were lost, and the FBI couldn’t examine them.

2 BlackBerry devices provided to FBI didn’t have their SIM or SD data cards.

13 Hillary Clinton personal mobile devices were lost, discarded or destroyed. Therefore, the FBI couldn’t examine them.

Various server backups were deleted over time, so the FBI couldn’t examine them.

After State Dept. notified Hillary Clinton her records would be sought by House Benghazi Committee, copies of her email on the laptops of her attorneys Cheryl Mills and Heather Samuelson were wiped with BleachBit, and the FBI couldn’t review them.

After her emails were subpoenaed, Hillary Clinton’s email archive was also permanently deleted from her then-server "PRN" with BleachBit, and the FBI couldn’t review it.

Also after the subpoena, backups of the PRN server were manually deleted.

Even though the FBI did not have a complete record of Hillary Clinton’s emails on three unclassified personal servers, it found:

2,093 emails State Dept. currently classifies as Confidential or Secret. (State Dept. did not address what their classification was at the time they were sent.)
193 emails (81 separate email conversations) that were classified at the time they were sent, ranging from "Confidential" to "Top Secret/Special Access Program."
68 of the 81 email chains remain classified today.
8 were Top Secret.
37 were Secret.
36 were Confidential.
7 were Special Access Program.
3 were Sensitive Compartmentalized Information.
36 were Not Releasing to Foreign Governments.
2 were Releasable Only to Five Allied Partners.
12 of the suspect email chains were not provided by Hillary’s attorneys. The FBI found them other ways.
The email chains contained classified information from 5 other agencies: CIA, DOD, FBI, NGA and NSA.

Sniper rifles from Britain's Accuracy International are to be used by Lithuania
VILNIUS, Lithuania, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Lithuania's military has received new British-made sniper rifles which will be distributed to troops by the end of the year.

The weapons are AXMC sniper rifles manufactured by Accuracy International Ltd under a contract worth more than $1.4 million.

The AXMC rifles can use either .338 Lapua Magnum or .308 Win ammunition through a barrel change, even in field conditions.

The Lithuanian Land Force previously did not have sniper rifles and used an FN SCAR-H PR semi-automatic precision rifles instead. AXMC sniper rifles double the effective range of the FN's 1,968 feet.

"Accuracy International of the United Kingdom cherishes old traditions of weapon making and is respected worldwide," said MSgt. Ernestas Kuckailis, an expert of sniper and precision rifles with Juozas Lukša Warfare Training Center, Lithuanian Land Force. "The weapons it manufactures are of high quality and reliability in any conditions, including arctic or desert.

AXMC rifle has a powerful Kahles sight and night vision. The new weapon will allow Lithuanian Land Force personnel destroy targets at nearly 1.5-kilometere [nearly 1 mile] distance both during the day and at night."

Contrary to conventional wisdom, the world should hope for the election of Donald Trump next Tuesday. American policy has become a fetid morass in which ideology and influence-peddling jointly serve to insulate its leaders from the real world. It is not simply that America’s leaders are out of touch, but that they are in continuous touch with a fictitious construct of the world that excludes the possibility of policy course correction.

America’s policy elites are sleepwalkers in the way that historian Christopher Clark described Europe’s leaders in August 1914 on the eve of the First World War. Five years and 500,000 corpses after the disastrous "Arab Spring" and the Libyan coup of 2011, the American elite still does not understand that today’s chaos in the Middle East is borne of American meddling.

President Obama, Secretary of State Clinton, and the McCain mainstream of the Republican Party passionately believed that the Arab world had broken free of its tyrannical past and was en route to democracy. By destroying the old dictatorships, the United States simply opened the field to ethnic and sectarian war. Syria is in civil war, Iraq is close to it, and even Turkey is at risk.

...The question of "flawed, imperfect, damaged, etc." was never of any consequence to me. It was, indeed, factually meaningless. All men and women are flawed. I'm Jewish, not Christian, but I certainly get the concept of "we are all sinners." You have to be asleep twenty-four hours a day not to notice that. They say Churchill was terrible to his subordinates, Eisenhower committed adultery, and on and on...

So this election was never about Donald's peccadilloes to me. Or even Bill Clinton's rancid behavior and his wife's repeated enabling of it.

This election was always about one over-riding issue under which all are subsumed. That issue is the corruption and virtual dissolution of our democratic republic by elites.

This election was and is about the rule of elites over the people, something we have all seen in full bloom in the WikiLeaks releases.

...At first blush, or any blush, Donald Trump--a brash real estate tycoon who made much of his money from gambling casinos--would seem an unlikely leader for such a crusade. But I submit it's the contrary (and, no, I'm not virtue signaling--at least I don't think so). The extreme situation we are faced with today--we might call it "crony socialism"--needed and needs an extreme personality both to get our attention and to get change accomplished. Nothing much would have happened, in all probability, with any of the other candidates. This time, of all times, an outsider was necessary.

Canadian man goes diving for sea cucumbers, stumbles across missing US nuclear weapon
[News.com] A man who went diving for sea cucumbers got more than he bargained for when he swam straight into a missing nuclear bomb.

But so unexpected was Sean Smyrichinsky’s find, off the western coast of Canada, that he initially thought it was a UFO.

Now the Canadian Navy has been dispatched to see if the diver’s explosive claims stack up and he really has found an arrant atomic bomb.

If proved right, Mr Smyrichinsky may have inadvertently solved one of the biggest mysteries of the Cold War -- what happened to a nuclear bomb jettisoned by a US aircraft in 1950 just before it crashed.

Mr Smyrichinsky claimed he recently went diving in a remote area close to Pitt Island, off the coast of British Columbia, using an underwater scooter.

Interpol rejects Palestinian membership bid
[Jerusalem Post] International Criminal Police Organization on Tuesday rejected a Palestinian attempt to join Interpol.

Israel. in response, lauded the move and touted its lobbying efforts as leading to the decision.

"The General Assembly of the Interpol has rejected the Palestinians request to discuss and vote on their request to be accepted as a member state," read a joint statement by the Foreign Ministry and Israel Police.

The vote against the Palestinian Authority's membership bid was made at Interpol's 85th General Assembly convened in Bali, Indonesia.

Busy Chicago week end: 10 KIA, 41 WIA
[Chicago Tribune] For the second weekend in a row, more than 50 people were shot in Chicago as the number of homicides this year rose to more than 50 percent above the same period last year.

More than 660 people have been killed in the city so far this year, according to data compiled by the Tribune. The number of people shot in Chicago this year is more than a thousand above what it was this time last year, from 2,620 to 3,795, according to Tribune data.

From Friday afternoon to late Sunday, 10 people were killed and 41 others were wounded in shootings across Chicago, in addition to a man shot to death by police on Saturday, police said.

Among the wounded was a 78-year-old man who was dragged out of a car in Englewood on Sunday and shot in the head. He was listed in serious condition.

Five people were shot in a single attack in Uptown early Saturday morning, police said. Two men, two women and a 17-year-old boy were shot about 1:35 a.m. in the 4800 block of North Winthrop Avenue. They were all taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in good condition.

An additional 3 KIA and 15 WIA since Monday morning.

Or as we native Chicagoans would say, "slow week"...

German police arrest five in raid on 'IS network'
[BBC] Five people linked to the so-called Islamic State (IS) group have been arrested in co-ordinated raids in Germany, including a senior Islamist figure, reports say.

Flats were raided in northern and western Germany and a mosque was searched near Hanover.

Among those arrested was an Iraqi who goes by the alias Abu Walaa, or "the preacher without a face".

Germany's NDR TV has identified him as Ahmad Abdelazziz A.

The raids came as a result of information from a 22-year-old jihadist who spent several months with IS in Syria before fleeing to Turkey, it said.

Before returning to Germany in late September, the man, named Anil O, gave an interview in which he referred to Abu Walaa as "IS's number one in Germany".

All five men held are suspected of recruiting jihadists for IS and providing help for their journey to the conflict zone. They deny any link to terrorism.

The mosque in Hildesheim
Hildesheim is a picturesque small city in northern Germany, which like many small cities in Germany is losing its youth to the opportunities of the nearest bigger city. There is a small Jewish community there, mostly elderly Germans and younger Russians, but their young people are also moving to Hannover. It is my mother's hometown.
at the centre of Tuesday's police raids has been highlighted by authorities before as heavily involved in radical Salafist Islam.

Abu Walaa, who was arrested just outside Hildesheim, became known as "the preacher without a face" because of a series of internet videos in which he appeared clothed in black with his back to the camera.

Last week, police in Berlin arrested a Syrian man on suspicion of receiving instructions from IS to carry out an attack in Germany.
Update from The Times of Israel at 9:50 a.m. ET:
“The five accused formed a pan-regional Salafist-jihadist network, with the accused Ahmad Abdulaziz Abdullah A.” — a 32-year-old Iraqi — “taking on the leading role,” said a statement from the prosecutors’ office. “The aim of the network led by him is to send people to IS in Syria."

Turkish national Hasan C. and German-Serb Boban S. were allegedly tasked with teaching the recruits Arabic as well as indoctrinating them with Islamist teachings. While the group’s leader had the authority to approve and organize any departures to Syria, he allegedly left the actual implementation of the plans to the two other men detained Tuesday, German national Mahmoud O. and Cameroonian Ahmed F. Y.

At least one young man and his family had been sent by the network to join IS in Syria, prosecutors added.

The five men were arrested in the northern state of Lower Saxony and the western state of North Rhine-Westphalia, German media reported.

Khadiza undergoes third surgery
[Dhaka Tribune] Doctors have conducted third surgery on the left hand, left leg and skull of Khadiza Akter Nargis who is now undergoing treatment at Square Hospital in Dhaka.

Dr Mirza Nazim Uddin, assistant director of Square Hospital, confirmed the Dhaka Tribune about the surgery but denied to make further comment over the matter saying that they would let the news hounds know officially later.

Sources at Square Hospitals said the operation was started around 8am and continued till 2pm. Then she was taken to observatory ward of Neurology department. And she would be taken to her cabin early tomorrow [Tuesday].

Khadiza’s uncle Baset Ali said as she was recovering fast she had undergone the operation. She was being given heavy food for the last few days.

Doctors said the operation was successful. However,
if you can't say something nice about a person some juicy gossip will go well...
they could not make any further comment over the matter.

On October 3, BCL SUST unit leader Badrul Alam, attempted Khadiza hacked to death but she survived. Later, she was taken to Square Hospitals on October 6 where her first operation was conducted. Later she underwent second operation on October 15. She was taken to cabin leaving life support on October 13.

He, however, said the new president would be visited by many challenges, including attempts to possibly pass a "vote of no confidence" amidst difficulties in the passing of bills.

"The boat of the new president will be rocked," he said.

TB Joshua went further to reveal that two states would be instrumental in Clinton's impending victory at the polls.

He also, on the other hand, lauded Clinton's outspoken opponent Donald Trump: "I want to salute the opposition - a very strong man and courageous.

"He is my friend because he is very, very courageous. Challenges don't mean anything to him. The more they abuse him, the more he comes out to talk and smile."

UN to investigate airstrike that killed 32
[al-Manar] The United Nations is investigating accusations that up to 32 civilians were killed in a US airstrike in the volatile Afghan province of Kunduz last week, calling any loss of civilian life “unacceptable”.

The strike early last Thursday triggered angry protests in Kunduz, with local officials saying at least 30 people had been killed, many of them children whose mutilated bodies were paraded through the streets by grieving relatives.

Civilian casualties caused by NATO forces have been one of the most contentious issues in the 15-year campaign, prompting strong public and government criticism.

US forces have conceded that the strike “very likely” resulted in civilian casualties and pledged a full investigation into the incident. A State Department spokesman called it a “terrible event”.

The killings came just days before the US presidential election, in which Afghanistan has received scarcely a passing mention — even though the situation there will be an urgent matter for the new president.

It was also the second time in just over a year that a US airstrike ‘has gone wrong’ in Kunduz.

[TheGreatRecession] So, FBI Director James Comey suddenly turns tail again, saying, "Nope. Nothing here people. False alarm. Carry on!"

Let me think about this...

The Comey Conundrum

Apparently, the Republicans didn’t consolidate enough hatred against James Comey for refusing to have the FBI recommend charges against Hillary the first time, so Comey decided he needed to make the entire Democratic party hate him, too, by announcing a second investigation of Hillary Clinton, which caused a large swing in the polls against her.

That, apparently, still didn’t bring enough new hatred against him, so Comey had to pull a second switch and say, "Sorry folks; false alarm," just to give the Republican hornet nest a second kick.

That also helped him ensure that the Democrats are loaded with ammo aimed at his raw behind after the election because they can now say, "You damaged the election for something that a few days later you said, yourself, amounted to nothing! Why didn’t you exercise a little more caution before you spouted off about these new emails?"

And it assured that, in case there were not enough agents in his own party that hated them, there would be more of those, too.

So, if we’re going to take James Comey at his word this second time around (that there was nothing there worthy of filing charges), we have to also believe Comey decided this year that committing political suicide in a spectacular fashion would be the greatest thing he could do with his life.

So, this is the Comey Conundrum: Did he say I want my entire agency and both parties to hate me more than an overflowing toilet, so I’ll poop my pants twice in the most public way possible and see if I can’t destroy myself -or- did he back away because of threats as big as death?

I dunno. Just askin’.

Syrian regulars capture key points in Aleppo
[Al-Manar] Syrian infantry and artillery army units, backed by air force, on Monday continued to advance in different areas across the country, seizing control over a number of areas and inflicting heavy losses upon the terrorist groups in the arms and personnel.

In Aleppo, a military source announced that the army restored Al-Rakhem Hill to the west of the military academies in the western countryside of Aleppo after destroying the last fortification of Jaish al-Fateh terrorists.

The source told SANA that army units, in cooperation with the supporting forces and the allies, over the past few hours carried out special operations in the western countryside of Aleppo, establishing control over Talet al-Rakhem to the west of the military academies.

The source added that a number of terrorists were killed in the operations, mostly from al-Nusra Front, Ahrar al-Sham and Nour al-Din al-Zenki terrorist groups and their arms and equipment were destroyed.

In Homs, the Syrian air force carried out concentrated strikes against a position of Al-Nusra Front terrorist organization in the northwestern countryside of Homs province.

A military source said that more than 30 terrorists were either killed or injured after destroying their position in Aqrab village in al-Houla plain to the northwest of Homs city.

Later, the source said an army unit killed a number of the leaders of terrorist groups affiliated to Al-Nusra Frontin al-Za’farana village in the northern countryside of Homs.

In Raqqa city and countryside, four people were killed and others injured after an international coalition airstrike targeted Al-Safsaf neighborhood in the city.

Russia Blasts US’ ‘Medieval Slaughter’ in Mosul

[AlManar] Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova blasted the US-led coalition over civilian casualties in Iraqi Mosul, calling the military operation a “medieval slaughter.”

The actions of the US-led coalition in Mosul have led to the deaths of civilians, Zakharova stated, adding that the West hasn’t developed any plans on how to avoid civilian casualties.

“The counter-terrorism operation carried out by the major powers of the 21st century has become a medieval slaughter, which primarily affects the civilian population. The population of Mosul is being massively killed both by the terrorists and the coalition forces opposing them,” the diplomat wrote on her Facebook account.

Zakharova also spoke about the “total information blockade” on the part of the coalition. According to her, there is no data on the “advance or retreat of coalition forces” as well as on the efficiency of its tactics.

“One thing is clear: the coalition’s attitude to peaceful residents of Mosul is worse than that of the militants in Aleppo,” the spokeswoman concluded.

The operation to liberate Mosul, which involves the Iraqi military, volunteer and Kurdish forces and is backed by the aircraft from the US-led coalition, started on October 17.

The Russian Defense Ministry has repeatedly said that US-led coalition’s airstrikes in Mosul have led to civilian casualties. On October 28, a US Air Force jet attacked a school near the Iraqi city of Mosul, according to the Russian General Staff.

On October 25, the Russian military said than 60 civilians had been killed and 200 wounded in coalition airstrikes on Mosul residential districts during three days.

Moreover, the US-led coalition launched strikes on a funeral procession in the Iraqi town of Daquq near the city of Kirkuk, killing dozens of civilians.

Kurds destroy Arab homes in Kirkuk

(Iraqinews.com) Kirkuk – Kurdish authorities in Kirkuk are undertaking series of demolitions of Arab-owned homes in the northern Iraq province, supposedly in retaliation for an attack by Islamic State militants last month, according to Amnesty International.

“In the aftermath of a surprise ISIS attack on eight different locations across Kirkuk on 21 October, many residents say they were ordered to leave the area and had their identity cards confiscated,” said the organization.

“Among those affected are an estimated 250 families who had previously been displaced from other areas of Iraq and had sought safety and shelter in Kirkuk…At least 190 families were also forcibly displaced by Kurdish Peshmerga and Asayish forces from the Qotan and Qoshkaya villages in the Dibs district of Kirkuk Province,” The organization added.

It quoted some citizens as saying that Kurds blamed them for bringing ISIS fighters to the province and sheltering them in their homes.

The organization said the practice is a violation of international laws that dictate that displaced people should not be returned home except voluntarily.

“The authorities in Kirkuk are undeniably facing a serious security threat, but that cannot justify bulldozing people’s homes and forcibly displacing hundreds of Arab residents,” the organizations explained. “Forcibly evicting and displacing Sunni Arab residents of Kirkuk is unlawful and cruel,” Amnesty International added.

ISIS Golden Throat's demise ends newspaper

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh-The self-proclaimed Islamic State has announced the killing of its most outstanding propaganda moviemaker, while the group also ceased its paper propaganda in the city of Mosul, Alsumaria News reported on Monday.

Alsumaria News stated, “ISIS media outlets have announced the killing of Shehata al-Masry, the group’s moviemaker, in an airstrike on a main road near al-Baaj, west of Mosul, along with two of his aides,” adding that, “Though Al-Masry was not well-known before, he seemed to have been an important personality working in the shadow.”

ISIS is known to have recruited several people with expertise from around the world to tap into their experience in its psychological war. The group has relied on films and video clips adopting the style of American thriller movies to deliver its messages.

The group has also ceased its paper propaganda in the city of Mosul, Nineveh, in an apparent sign of the group’s diminishing presence there resulting from defeats to Iraq security forces.

Alsumaria News also revealed on Monday that the group had halted its paper propaganda completely, pointing out almost certain information about ISIS transferred some of its largest printing presses out of the city.

“Propaganda issues for ISIS, which included a magazine and other weekly or monthly leaflets ceased to issue completely,” said Alsumaria.

“That paper propaganda was one of the tools ISIS relied upon to deliver their messages to the people of Mosul over the past months, having tackled several issues including the group’s decisions over several issues,” Alsumaria added.

The revelation comes as Iraqi government forces, al-Hashd al-Shaabi militia and US-led airstrikes continue to push with a weeks-old operation to liberate Mosul, ISIS last stronghold in Iraq. The operation has reportedly forced the group’s fighters to smuggle their families out of the city along with valuable possessions.

Noteworthy, ISIS most outstanding issue is Dabiq, a magazine in English and Arabic, both in a paper and online 50-page edition.

26K refugees appear at refugee camps

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh -The Iraqi Red Crescent Society said Monday it had distributed more than 26000 refugees coming from different parts of Nineveh to refugee camps in the province.

The refugees are escaping decisive battles between Islamic State militants and Iraqi joint forces seeking to liberate the province from the extremist group’s hold.

“The refugees have been distributed among the camps of Khazir, Hassan Sham, Jadaa and Zleikan,” the organization said on its website.

“IRCS teams deployed at the camps have ratcheted up their relief efforts to shelter the refugees, distributing more than 26000 meals made at kitchens the society had set up in refugee areas,” the statement said. It added that first aid and hospital care was also offered to the refugees, besides psychological assistance to all age groups.

The organization said it expects the number of refugees to increase further over the following days.

The United Nations had estimated the number of refugees expected to flee battles in Nineveh’s mosul to reach one million people.

ISIS has been sustaining severe losses in Mosul, its last stronghold in Iraq, since operations began in mid October.

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – Militants of the Islamic State extremist group visited a family and grant them 400 US dollars as a reward, after their son blew up himself in the city of Qayyarah, near Mosul, while the suicide bomber’s mother said that the group deceived her son via religious speeches, Rudaw reported on Monday.

The suicide bomber, Abdel Baqi Mohamed, is from al-Fadiliyah village in Bashiqa area. He blew up himself targeting the security forces in Qayyarah area, and then the extremist group’s militants delivered his suicide documents to his family, Rudaw added.

Abdel Baqi’s mother said that her son was working at the Industrial Zone in Mosul before the work stop there, and his friend joined the ISIS one year ago. She added that the group deceived her son religious speeches at mosques, then took him to Mosul and prepare him for four months.

The mother also said that she doesn’t know where her son was buried, and after few days of his death an ISIS Emir visited them and gave them a letter and 400 US dollars as a reward.

“In order to make the family believe that Abdel Baqi was killed, the ISIS Emir gave them a video showing Abdel Baqi standing in front of a vehicle and say that he is going to heaven,” Rudaw stated.

ISIS shuts down internet cafes, rounds up Kurd suspects

[ARA News] Idlib – The radical group of Islamic State (ISIS) has shut down several internet cafes in Syria’s northeastern Raqqa city. The group has also confiscated dozens of private satellite devices, local sources reported on Monday.

“They [ISIS militants] stormed internet cafes and civilian houses in a bid to shut down the internet network in Raqqa,” a local media activists told ARA News, speaking on condition of anonymity.

“Most of the internet cafes in Raqqa city were shut down,” the source reported.

This comes just one day after the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) launched the so-called Euphrates Wrath Operation, a military campaign aimed at liberating Raqqa from ISIS. The US-backed SDF on Monday seized control of 11 villages north of Raqqa, in an effort to isolate ISIS inside the city.

The operation caused a state of alert in ISIS ranks. The group’s attempt to shut down the internet comes amid fears that local informers have been leaking security information about ISIS movements in Raqqa to the SDF and the US-led coalition.

“The Islamic State has tightened security measures inside and around Raqqa city. Nobody is allowed to leave the city under any circumstances,” rights activist Kamal Hamdawi told ARA News.

Also on Monday, ISIS militants stormed the houses of Kurdish families in Raqqa city, and arrested a number of civilians on charges of supporting the SDF, eyewitnesses reported.

ISIS sleeper cells activated throughout Iraq

[AAWSAT] Baghdad – Many of ISIS’ sleeper cells have risen in retaliation to the losses in Mosul and other areas.

Two days after the Iraqi Ministry of Interior thwarted an ISIS attack, ISIS responded with a series of booby-trapped cars and terrorists attacks in Baghdad, Tikrit, Samara, and al-Sherqat which killed a number of pilgrims including Iranians who were on their way the shrines in Samara.

Saladin governor Ahmed al-Jubouri blamed security authorities for the incidents in Tikrit and Samara, Saladin tribe council spokesperson Marwan Jebara said that lack of coordination between the security forces made it easy to penetrate and cause blasts certain areas.

At least 15 people were killed in twin suicide attacks, and 33 injured in Shisheen valley, south of Tikrit. While in Samara, security forces imposed a curfew after a blast killed and injured over 24 persons included 10 Iranians.

Isis has claimed responsibility for the attacks in retaliation for their loss of territory in the north of the country.

Jebara said that this is a double-message from ISIS to its fighters and to Iraq. He elaborated that the terrorist organization wants to prove to everyone that it is still here and capable of bombing any area.

He explained that Samara is special for ISIS because it is the hometown of its leader Abu Baqer al-Baghdadi, and by attacking there, the organization encouraged its fighters and delivered a message that it can attack areas close to the shrines in Samara especially that Arbaeen pilgrimage is near.

According to Jebara, the bombs were attributed to lack of coordination between security forces and the different types and numbers of forces.

Governor Joubouri stated that the attacks are a reaction to ISIS’ losses in the area and due to multiple forces.

In Baghdad, an army force was able to kill a terrorist driving a car before he detonated it among pilgrims in Baghdad.

Security expert Hashim al-Hasihimi told Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper that ISIS is not centralized, and each governorate follows its own plans without directives from the headquarters of the organization.

Hashimi added Kirkuk attacks were executed by a number of fighters from outside of Kirkuk in collaboration with sleeper cells in the city.

About a dozen supporters came to the bar for the stop, but several people walking by started pounding on the window when they noticed her. One said "I have no respect for you." And someone sprayed some sort of substance into the bar from outside that had many in the tavern momentarily coughing.

Death toll in Yemen fighting exceeds 7K
[AlManar] 20-month-old Saudi-led war on Yemen has left more than 7,000 people dead and nearly 37,000 wounded, the World Health Organisation announced in its latest toll update.

As of October 25, “more than 7,070 people have been killed and over 36,818 injured, according to health facility-based data,” the WHO said in a statement late Sunday.

Another 21 million people are in need of urgent health services, said the UN health agency.

In addition to the fighting, international organisations have warned in recent weeks of a spread of disease and growing rates of malnutrition in the country, which was already the Arabian Peninsula’s poorest even before the war erupted.

The WHO said in its statement released from the capital Sanaa that 2.1 million people have been internally displaced because of the Saudi-US war.

More than half of all health facilities across the country have been shut or are partially functioning, it said.

“There are critical shortages in medical doctors in more than 40 percent of all districts,” it added.

Attempts by the United Nations to convince the Saudi-US-led coalition to commit to a ceasefire and resume peace talks have so far failed due to the violations repeatedly committed by the coalition forces.

The announcement comes just two weeks after the U.S. Navy commissioned the warship.

Does anyone believe that the Sage of Monticello, had he been unfortunate enough to know her, would have included Hillary Clinton among the ranks of such people? The voters certainly don’t. According to a McClatchy-Marist poll released Friday, a majority of the electorate believes Clinton has done "something illegal." That should be reassuring as it relates to the wisdom of the voters. Sadly, it isn’t. The survey also shows Clinton leading Donald Trump 46-44.

And it gets worse. When asked if the various legal controversies that swirl around Clinton with ever-increasing velocity would make a difference in the way they vote tomorrow, fully 65 percent of Democrats answered "no difference at all." Is this an artifact of the "Gruber Principle"? For those who may have forgotten, this is a reference to the incredibly disingenuous Democrat strategy that was used to pass Obamacare. It will forever be associated with MIT Professor Jonathan Gruber, who injudiciously described it on video as follows: "[T]he stupidity of the American voter... was really, really critical for the thing to pass."

I have to applaud the rural folks, they vote knowing their vote has no influence at the state or national level. I will predict a Trump victory in Kansas even though it went for Cruz in the primary.

A short line, had to give a photo I.D. -- my driver's license -- orally complete my birthdate and state my address, which they matched against their records. No problem with the machine, which creates a paper tape for me to approve before registering my vote. But I'm in deep red Republcan territory; things are no doubt very different in the city of Cincinnati and other Democratic strongholds, based on stories and newspaper reports from previous elections.

[AA.TR] Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) deputy Nihat Akdogan has been remanded in jug after appearing before court in the southeastern Hakkari province on Monday evening.

Akdogan, an MP from Hakkari province, was charged with "committing a crime for a terror organization" and "making terror organization propaganda", among other accusations.

He is among the deputies who failed to answer a summons linked to a counter-terrorism investigation.

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus had told journalists that the number of deputies who had failed respond to the summons was down to two following Akdogan's capture Monday afternoon at the entrance of Hakkari.

3rd South African party wants to seize land from whites
[AA.TR] The leader of a South African far-left opposition party Monday threatened to seize white-owned lands.

Julius Malema, the head of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), the third largest party in parliament, spoke to supporters after appearing in court in the northeastern city of Newcastle.

’’White minorities be warned! We shall take our land. It doesn’t matter how," said Julius Malema outside the magistrate’s court.

Malema was appearing in court to answer to charges of inciting his supporters to take over white-owned land. His case has been postponed to Dec. 7.

In 2016, he reportedly told supporters that whites could not claim ownership of land in South Africa because it belonged to native blacks.

During his televised address on Monday, Malema claimed that white South African settlers had killed hundreds of blacks who had refused to be removed from their land.

’’We are not calling for the slaughtering of white people at least for now,’’ he said amid cheers from his supporters.

Land is a highly contentious subject in South Africa 22 years after the end the racial segregation known as apartheid.

Malema said South Africa’s economy was still controlled by white capitalists despite the end of apartheid.

His EFF, which broke away from the ruling African National Congress, has been championing for land expropriation without compensation.

AfriForum, an organization representing minorities in the country, has on several occasions condemned Malema’s comments accusing him of inciting hatred against whites.

4 Afghan woman killed by a relative in Balkh province of Afghanistan
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] At least four women were rubbed out by a relative in northern Balkh province of Afghanistan amid a surge in violence against women across the country.

The local security officials in Balkh said the man opened fire on the women in Balkh district late on Sunday night.

Provincial security chief Abdul Razaq Qaderi confirmed the incident and said the assailant managed to flee the area after killing 4 women and leaving two others including a man and a woman maimed.

He said the dead bodies of the victims have been transferred to the hospital and a search operation is underway to arrest the perpetrator.

No further details were given regarding the main motive behind the brutal killling of the women.

This comes as numerous incidents involving murder of women have been reported during the recent months across the country.

Coup Militias Make Up for Losses by Targeting Civilians

[Asharq Al-Awsat] Taiz-Yemen’s national army forces have been able to sustain the pace of progress against coup militias in Taiz and south of Sana’a. Fierce clashes have been ongoing at each of the Hifan and Assilw districts, both located south of Yemen’s third largest city, Taiz.

The army and popular forces repelled mercenaries’ attempt to advance toward al-Dhaif Mountain in Taiz province, a military official said.

The operation took place when the coup gunmen carried out attacks in order to infiltrate toward the army and popular forces’ sites, killing dozens of the mercenaries and wounding others, as well as destroying several of their vehicles, the official added.

Army troops secured strategic advances after valiantly surmounting intense clashes accompanied with random bombardment that led to grave losses in human civilians and public property.

Ground sources told Asharq Al-Awsat that coup militants have also recorded great losses both in personnel and artillery amid the heavy fighting.

After standing great losses, Houthi militiamen stormed a school, shooting, and breaking into classes taking in four instructors and a student hostage.

At least 28 Houthi combatants and six former president Ali Abdullah Saleh loyalists were killed in the clashes as the rebel forces mount fresh attacks to control new territories in the densely populated city.

Iran-backed Houthis, who have firmly controlled the city’s outskirts for more than a year, could not advance into the city’s center despite heavy shelling and siege.

In a statement that he made to Asharq Al-Awsat, a Yemeni army source on the Hifan front said that “Yemeni army forces were able to make significant progress on the Al-Ahkoum front in Hifan … after fierce battles. This matter has made the Houthi militias and those loyal to Saleh respond by bombing villages”.

The source continued by saying that “similarly, violent confrontations took place on the rural Assilw front in the south of the city. During these confrontations, the militias tried to advance on sites belonging to the army in the Asseeratayn area. However, army forces confronted them and forced them to retreat and flee. The army and the Popular Resistance also managed to regain control of Hamdu village in the district of Assilw”.

Houthis Keep 34 Aid Ships from Reaching Shore

[Asharq Al-Awsat] Yemen’s Chairman of the Higher Humanitarian Relief Commission Board Abdulrraqib Fateh held the Houthi-led putsch responsible for a dire famine striking Yemenis today.

Mr. Fateh revealed that both Houthi militiamen and former president Ali Abdullah Saleh loyalists have unjustly seized 34 aid shipments that were scheduled to deliver sustenance and medical relief to the people of Yemen.

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)-sent cargoes were arranged to make port and unload at the port of Hodeidah, the Fourth-largest city in Yemen.

Iran-aligned militants had seized all ships and withheld the delivery of humanitarian relief to Yemen’s war-victims and impoverished.

Over 496,000 tons of food, 146,000 tons of oil byproducts and at least 275,000 tons of construction items for infrastructure (cement, gravel, steel, etc..) are in cargoes withheld by insurgency gunmen, Mr.Fateh told Yemen’s state news agency, Saba.

The aid kept from the people of Yemen is eventually leading to untold damage to the social fabric added to suffering and famine. Diseases have also been spreading increasingly due to local deficiency in medical care, especially in Houthi-held areas.

U.N. humanitarian chief Stephen O’Brien had made comments on the current situation of Yemen’s port labeling it as ‘worrisome’—especially in areas concerning work performance and the way of tracking the commercial ships which reach the port.

Mr.Fateh urged that the aid be released from the port’s warehouses, as over 21 million Yemenis are in dire need of relief.

More so, Spokesman of the Arab coalition supporting the legitimacy in Yemen Maj. Gen. Ahmed Asseri has confirmed that Houthi militias are seizing 34 ships carrying humanitarian aid since more than 186 days.

“There are no UN humanitarian personnel today at the Al Hodeidah port – which is the largest remaining port under Houthi militia control – who can inspect and supervise distributing the much needed aid and medical supplies,” Asseri said.

Asseri also added that humanitarian aid has been stacking in at Hodeidah port for nearly seven months because Houthi militias and forces loyal to the ousted Ali Abdullah Saleh are blocking the distribution of aid which resulted in depriving the residents from taking benefits from it.

The arrest, announced made on the administration’s Facebook page, has been confirmed by its front man, Walid Arafi.

The agency says that the unnamed man, who apparently converted some time ago, was using social media to urge others to change their faith. It also says that he was in contact with a fellow convert in Morocco, named simply as Rashid, who was helping him.

It adds that it managed to track him down using the IP address of his computer.

Arafi would not name the person either or give futher details.

There is no mention about conversion in the 2011 Constitutional Declaration which acts as Libya’s interim constitution. It declares simply that Islam is the religion of Libya, the principal source of legislation is Islamic Jurisprudence (Shari’a) and that non-Moslems are free to practice their faith.

However,

The court had also sentenced her to 15 days imprisonment and fined her Rs110,000.

Sharbat Gula and Afghan government, in an application submitted to the KP government, pleaded for her departure from Pakistain to Afghanistan on completion of her 15-day sentence on Wednesday [November 9].

The 'Afghan Girl' had pleaded guilty to six charges against her, including her illegal stay in Pakistain, forgery, cheating, tampering with documents and violation of the Nadra (National Database and Registration Authority) Act.

Amanpour used old news footage in interview with General Asiri
[Asharq Al-Awsat] Riyadh- The American based cable CNN recently used five-year-old misleading footage of Yemen when reporter Christiane Amanpour was interviewing Arab coalition’s spokesman and Saudi top Defense Ministry consultant Brig. Gen. Ahmad Al-Assiri.

The Saudi-led Arab Coalition is an Arab effort to restore the internationally recognized government to authority in Yemen, a country which has been ravaged by Iran-aligned putschists.

Amanpour, in an offbeat attitude, accused Saudi Arabia of crimes against humanity in Yemen, such as forced starvation against local civilians.

Commenting to the wild accusations of Amanpour, Brg.Gen Assiri said that he was sure that the footage was retrieved from areas sieged by coup forces, namely Taiz.

Amanpour responded with personal disregard as to the source of the image, and focused on whether the photo showcasing a starved eighteen-year-old female was real or not.

Four days after airing the interview, and after being looked into, the footage was discovered to date back five years ago, before the military operation by the Saudi-led Arab coalition was launched to aid in restoring peace to Yemen.

The military campaign dates only three and a half years back.

Saudi social media activists demanded that the rowdy accusations made against the Kingdom’s efforts in Yemen be taken back for the lack of professionalism—the footage was used to manipulate viewers’ emotions, spurring anti-Saudi sentiment and leading to predisposed judgment.

Saudi columnist and expert on Iranian political affairs Mohammad al-Sulami tweeted on his utter shock on the revelation made on the credibility of Amanpour’s footage. He also questioned whether an apology is due or not.

Twitter account users were further astonished at Amanpour’s complete negligence to mention Saudi Arabia’s relief efforts in Yemen, as to produce an unbiased argument before the audience. Furthermore, both Amanpour and CNN had failed to report on 34 aid ships which have been reportedly seized by coup militiamen and withheld from reaching needy civilians.

Leaked Documents Reveal Expansive Soros Funding to Manipulate Federal Elections
[PJMEDIA] Leaked funding documents reveal an effort by George Soros and his foundations to manipulate election laws and process rules ahead of the federal election far more expansively than has been previously reported.

The billionaire and convicted felon moved hundreds of millions of dollars into often-secret efforts to change election laws, fuel litigation to attack election integrity measures, push public narratives about voter fraud, and to integrate the political ground game of the left with efforts to scare racial minority groups about voting rights threats.

These Soros-funded efforts moved through dozens of 501(c)(3) and (c)(4) charities and involved the active compliance with civil rights groups, government officials, and purportedly non-partisan groups like the League of Women Voters.

The leaked documents also reveal deliberate and successful efforts to manipulate media coverage of election issues in mainstream media outlets like the The New York Times

Conservatives and Republicans have no opposing effort or source of funds that represents even a small fraction in opposition to level of the Soros-led manipulation contained in the leaked documents.

The documents reveal that the Soros campaign fueled litigation attacking election integrity measures, such as citizenship verification and voter ID. It funded long-term efforts to fundamentally transform election administration -- including the creation of databases that were marketed to state governments for use in voter verification. It propped up left-leaning media to attack reports of voter fraud, and conducted racially and ideologically targeted voter registration drives.

200 militants surrender in Balochistan
More than 200 suspected militants laid down their arms and vowed to abandon violent struggle at a ceremony held at Balochistan Chief Minister's Secretariat on Monday.

"The ferraris who laid down their weapons belonged to various Baloch separatists groups," said Balochistan government spokesperson Anwarul Haq Kakar.

Kakar, however, revealed that the suspected militants laid down their weapons under the Balochistan political reconciliation policy initiated by the present coalition government.

"More than 75 militants came from Afghanistan and laid down their arms before the officials and vowed to struggle for betterment of the country and nation," he added.

Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Amir Riaz and other high level civilian and military officials were also present on the occasion.

Zehri, while addressing the weapons laying ceremony, urged upon the exiled Baloch leaders including Hyrbiar Marri, Brahamdagh Bugti and Javed Mengal to come back and abandon their violent struggle.

"Javed Mengal come back I will receive you, Brahamdagh Bugti come back, Sarfaraz Bugti will receive you", said Nawab Zehri .

"We were Pakistanis, we are and will remain Pakistanis", Nawab Zehri added.

"Educate your children, you are now our responsibility," Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Amir Riaz told the suspected militants adopting peaceful lives.

"It is not a surrender, rather we all welcome you back."

ISIS preps VBIEDs as coalition forces approach
[AlArabiya] ISIS militants have set off five car bombs targeting US-backed Syrian armed groups attacking Raqqa, a source said on Monday, saying the fight to drive ISIS from its stronghold city would “not be easy.”

The operation by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), including the Kurdish YPG militia, that began on Saturday aims to encircle and ultimately capture Raqqa, adding to the pressure on ISIS as it faces a major assault in Iraq.

ISIS has also drawn heavily on suicide car bombs in its efforts to fend off the assault on Mosul by Iraqi forces.

The attack so far appears focused on areas north of Raqqa near the town of Ain Issa, 50 km (30 miles) away. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an organization that reports on the war, said the SDF forces had so far captured a number of ISIS positions, but there had been “no real progress.”

The Kurdish source said a number of villages had been captured. “Daesh is resorting to attacks with car bombs to a great degree,” the source said.

The SDF has been the main partner on the ground in Syria for the US-led coalition against ISIS, capturing swathes of northern Syria with coalition air support.

Planning for the Raqqa assault has been complicated by factors including the concerns of neighboring Turkey, which does not want to see any further expansion of Kurdish influence in northern Syria.

Additionally, Raqqa is a predominantly Arab city, and Syrian Kurdish officials have previously said it should be freed from ISIS by Syrian Arab groups, not the Kurdish YPG.

Turks launch new offensive against Kurds in Hasakah
[ARA News] Derik – Turkey’s military on Monday bombed headquarters of the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) in Syria’s northeastern Hasakah Governorate, military sources and activists reported.

The Turkish army hit YPG positions in the Ain Diwar village in Derik District, east of Hasakah.

“Turkish forces targeted the YPG units in Ain Diwar with artillery fire,” a Kurdish officer told ARA News. “Today Rojava has witnessed a new violation by the Erdogan government.”

“The AKP [ruling Justice and Development Party in Turkey] and its allies try to hit the Kurdish forces in Syria in support of ISIS terrorists,” he said.

The YPG leadership said the Turkish bombardment on Ain Diwar continued for one hour, adding they responded to the offensive.

“Our forces responded to the attack by launching several shells, targeting the source of the fire. Only then the Turkish offensive stopped.”

Scores of YPG fighters were wounded in the bombardment, and a massive material damage was reported due to the attack.

This is not the first time Turkey has targeted Syrian Kurds. According to military sources, the Turkish Army has launched more than 22 attacks on Kurdish positions in northern Syria.

The YPG said that Turkey is targeting Kurdish areas in northern Syria “to undermine the Kurdish progress against ISIS.”

“We’ll not allow Turkey to continue those violations at the border. We are ready to respond and we’ll do whatever it takes in order to stop this offensive against our people,” the YPG leadership said in an earlier statement.

F-22, F-35 Outsmart Test Ranges, AWACS
How smart is too smart? When F-35 Joint Strike Fighters flew simulated combat missions around Eglin Air Force Base in Florida, their pilots couldn’t see the "enemy" radars on their screens.

Why? The F-35s’ on-board computers analyzed data from the airplanes’ various sensors, compared the readings to known threats, and figured out the radars on the training range weren’t real anti-aircraft sites -- so the software didn’t even display them. While the software and pilots on older aircraft hadn’t noticed the imperfections and inaccuracies in how the Eglin ranges portrayed the enemy, the F-35s’ automated brains essentially said, "Fake! LOL!" and refused to play.

The Eglin anecdote is just one example of how the F-35 Lightning and its twin-engine older brother, the F-22 Raptor -- collectively called fifth-generation fighters -- are overturning how the Air Force operates. The sophistication of fifth gen sensors, software, and stealth requires the Air Force to overhaul training and network infrastructure. They even challenge longstanding assumptions about who makes what decisions and who’s in command. If the pilot of a fifth gen jet infiltrating enemy airspace has a clearer picture of the battle than senior officers further back on a vulnerable AWACS command plane or back at base in Air Operations Center, why should they be telling him or her what to do?

It takes very little time to fire sufficient number of rounds with a semiautomatic, assuming you have good aim and a lot of targets.

If it wasn’t so easy to get a gun in this country, the 29-year-old gunman who went on a shooting rampage in a popular gay nightclub in Orlando on Sunday wouldn’t have been able to buy the weapon he used to kill 49 people and injure 53.
Don't forget to mention the gunman was a government contractor who already had a grounding in weaponry, and who subscribed to a religion that forbids homosexuality, and that he himself was a homosexual.
If it wasn’t so easy to get a gun in this country, another gunman who came before him wouldn’t have been able to use the same kind of firearm to kill elementary-school children in Newtown, Conn.
Adam Lanza was a psychopath who essentially stole the guns he used on those kids.
If it wasn’t so appallingly easy to get a gun in this country, it wouldn’t be easy for the next gunman to deliver the kind of carnage that’s as much a part of this country as the American flag.

No one can prevent murder by taking away firearms. We know that from a 100+ years of experience from republics as well as from autocratic societies. And no question there will be another mass shooting. The question remains, how are you going to stop it? By buying a firearm and bitching about it, or by buying a firearm and learning to use it properly and safely.
This has been said, but bears repeating and repeating and repeating some more. If nothing changed after children – babies – were slaughtered inside their school, do any of us really believe anything will change following the deaths of people so many fear and loathe simply for trying to live their truths?

The gunman was apparently enraged over seeing a same-sex couple kiss. Think about that. Love enraged him. Love made him kill.
The gunman was himself homosexual. Think about that, yourself.
But I try not to think about any of that as I drive over to the gun shop in Philadelphia. I need to come up with some plausible story, I think. What if I’m asked why, a day after this massacre, I want to buy the very type of gun used to slaughter people at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando.
Yes, when handling firearms and dealing with the purveyors of firearms, it is always best to come up with a good cover story.
I consider my options:

I’m a woman who wants a rifle for safety reasons?
You're a psychopath with an agenda, as with every leftist/liberal in history.
I’m a gun enthusiast with a soft spot for military-style rifles?
One look, a few questions and a business owner can tell you know little about military rifles.
I’m a card-carrying member of the NRA who is afraid the government will be coming for my guns?
Did you "Give a Buck" when you bought your rifle?
Turns out I don’t need a story. The AR-15 is on display in the window of the gun shop. It is being promoted as the gun of the week.
A good business practice.
What will it take to buy one, I ask the sales guy.

Did I have identification? Yes.

Was I a U.S. citizen? Yes.

“Bingo,” the friendly gun shop sales guy said. “All we have to do is fill paperwork out.” I’ve filled out more paperwork at the doctor’s office for a routine checkup than I did Monday afternoon.

I felt a little squeamish about not telling him who I was and what I was trying to do, but this wasn’t about them; they weren’t doing anything illegal. The truth is that I could have bought the gun as easily in any gun shop in Pennsylvania. I just didn’t realize how easily.
Shorter: Likely she lied to the gun shop owner.
Go to a licensed gun store. Fill out about a page and a half of forms. Wait (if that’s really the right word for it) for an instant background check, and then pay the man. I told the guy I was on a budget, so I got an AR-15 for $759.99. God bless America.
You could have gone to Armslist and picked up a decent AR, used for around $550, no background checks, assuming the seller doesn't require one; usually less if he does.
No need for a concealed carry permit. No mandatory training, though the guys did give me a coupon for a free day pass for a local gun range. No need for even a moment to at least consider how gross all of this felt as relatives of the dead were still being notified.

To be fair, there was an extra 10 or 15 minutes or so of chitchat inside the gun store before I walked out with a cardboard box with the words Smith & Wesson emblazoned on it, and an atta-girl for thinking ahead and buying the most popular rifle in the country before there’s a run on the gun from nervous gun owners who fear a ban on them.
There will be no "run" on ARs. There hasn't been despite numerous domestic terrorist and criminal small arms attacks since 2013. The data I compile on a weekly basis doesn't bear the fear out. The data does show that if you buy now, before Christmas, you'll get a slightly better price, but only slightly.
“Yeah, because it was about the gun, not Islamic terrorism, right?” a man buying a gun offered, unsolicited.

Here we go, I thought.

The fact is, what shattered so many lives in the early hours Sunday was about many things.

Homophobia, first and foremost.
To repeat. The shooter was homosexual. He was a psycho with a gun and a mission.
Radicalism – the American gunman claimed allegiance to the Islamic State and praised the Boston Marathon bombers. Even if that’s not true, the radicals won’t have a problem with that.

Mental illness.

And yes, guns. Insane, nonsensical access to guns. So pick whatever reason or narrative matches your politics or agenda. Have at it, because the truth is that while they all play a part, what’s really destroying this country is fear and hate. A festering fear and hate that we better think about when it’s time to vote for our next president, because the fear and hate is not all coming from the outside. It’s not all from some unnamed foreign bogeyman. Increasingly it’s from within, from down the street, the next state over, the next potential leader of this country.
First thing she has gotten right in this article.
As I walked to my car with my brand-new gun, I wasn’t sure what to do with it. I didn’t want it, but I also didn’t want it in anyone else’s hands either.
Easy to disable an AR.
So I drove to the Philadelphia police’s Sixth District on 11th and Winter, where I seemed to stump more than a few officers when I explained who I was and what I wanted to do. Have you ever tried to turn in a gun in this city? Spoiler alert: It takes longer than it does to buy a gun.
It should take longer. Kops don't want to be on the hook for an improperly transferred firearm anymore than you want the firearm.
As an officer prepared the paperwork, I noticed a sign that hung over one of the walls.

We are more divided every single day, and yet our answer to that is to meet fear and hate with more fear and hate and then expect a different outcome. To be shocked at the world we live in, left to do little else but hold vigils.

While I write this, thousands are attending a vigil at City Hall.

My heart is with you all. But while we’re mourning the dead, let us mourn the national loss of humanity that is to blame for this world we have created.

And let us take more than seven minutes to do it.

#2  Our state has instant background check through the TBI. It is tied into NICS. If you can prove who you are, have successfully completed ATF Form 4473 and nothing comes back from a computer check, you might be able to purchase an AR-15 in 7 minutes although I think that's pushing it. I've never been able to complete the process that quickly. The liberal writer is obviously trying to make a point as to how easy it is to purchase a firearm...and stretching the truth.

Syrian rebel capture 11 villages near Raqqa
[ARA News] Raqqa – Since the launch of the Euphrates Wrath Operation on Sunday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have captured 11 villages in an area measuring approximately 15 km². The campaign’s ultimate goal is the isolation and capture of Raqqa city.

SDF soldiers on Monday also besieged Haysha town, about 40 km north of Raqqa city. Dozens of Islamic State (ISIS) militants have reportedly been killed in a protracted bombardment.

The SDF General Command told ARA News that ISIS has retreated from major parts of Raqqa’s northern countryside. Rather than trying to stand their ground, the extremist group is now relying on mines, car bombs and suicide squads. The SDF reportedly destroyed six car bombs on Monday, before they could reach their targets.

The multi-ethnic alliance has reminded civilians to be cautious as ISIS jihadists have a long history of using human shields. “We also call on our people in Raqqa to stay away from ISIS headquarters, which will be [targeted by] the SDF and the coalition. We appeal to the civilians to head to secure locations and to support our operation,” the SDF said.

The Islamic State’s current strategy appears to be aimed at impeding the SDF’s progress towards the city of Raqqa, through mass casualty attacks and guerrilla-style raids. Raqqa is a de facto capital of the self-declared Caliphate.

Noteworthy SDF factions participating in the Euphrates Wrath Operation include Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), Syriac Military Council, Raqqa Revolutionaries Battalion and Tel Abyad Revolutionary Brigade. These ground forces are being bolstered by the US-led coalition, which is providing air support and advice from US military experts.

The SDF established on Sunday a new operations room to harmonize the allied forces participating in the battle for Raqqa. “On November 5, the SDF established a new operations room known as the Euphrates Wrath to enhance coordination between the various military factions participating in the battle,” the SDF said in a statement.

“This operation will be proceeded strictly till its goal is met, isolating the capital of world terror, then bringing it down,” the SDF continued “We will be victorious in this decisive battle like we were in Kobane, Tel Abyad, al-Hasakah, al-Hawl, al-Shaddadi and Manbij.”

Woman pushed to her death in front of New York subway train
[REUTERS] A woman shoved an unsuspecting traveler off a New York City subway platform into the path of an approaching train on Monday afternoon, killing the victim instantly as bystanders watched in horror, police said.

The victim, also a woman, was pushed onto the tracks as a southbound No. 1 train pulled into the Times Square station around 1 p.m. EST (1800 GMT), and she was pronounced dead.

on the scene shortly afterward. Witnesses immediately alerted coppers, who apprehended the suspect in the station.

Neither the victim nor the suspect was immediately identified by authorities.

"What happened here today is tragic," Joseph Fox, chief of transit for the New York City Police Department, told news hounds at the midtown Manhattan subway station, one of city's largest and busiest.

The victim was standing on the platform when the suspect, wearing a pink shirt and scarf, lunged at her, police said.

Two hours after the incident, emergency responders were working to remove the woman's body from the tracks and resume subway service at the station before peak evening commuting hours.

Investigators were reviewing surveillance video and interviewing witnesses to determine a motive, said William Aubry, the police department's chief of Manhattan detectives.

Many of those who saw the attack were visibly shaken. Some witnesses said the victim and the suspect were involved in a dispute before the fatal shove, Aubry said, but it was not immediately clear whether the women knew each other.

#7  In the country I live in the platform has plexiglas barriers and automated gateways which keep people off the tracks. The train pulls up so the car doors match the gates, the gates open, the train doors open, people get in the train, no one can fall on to the track.

2 Rada forces operators die in Benghazi
In the second deadly attack on Tripoli’s Rada (Deterrence) forces in just over a week, two members were shot dead on Sunday evening in a targeted attack outside a shop in the city’s central Zawiat Al-Dahmani area. According to Rada forces, Ayoub Ali Al-Buashi died instantly and Jamal Al-Shweidi died later in hospital of his injuries.

Eyewitnesses say the killers were masked and used a vehicle without number plates.

Insisting that it would not rest until the perpetrators had been hunted down, Rada also said that the killings would not stop it from tackling criminals and vandals.

On Friday 28 October, a member named only as Kamal was killed when Rada forces demolished a house in the neighbouring Fashloum district belonging to someone described as a criminal by the force.

Suggestions that the two incidents may be related have been rejected the head of Rada’s information office, Ahmed Ben Salem. Speaking on TV last night, he said he did not believe it to be the case although he indicated that Al-Buashi may have been involved in the Fashloum demolition.

There is also now a deepen divide between the Rada forces, led by Abdul Raouf Kara, and Islamist “revolutionaries” in the city, linked to grand mufti Sadek Al-Ghariani, Khalifa Ghwell, Salah Badi and a number of Benghazi hardliners such as Wisam Ben Hamid who are now based in the capital.

A number of Benghazi members of Ansar Al-Sharia and other militant forces are said to be being held by Rada. Yesterday evening’s attack comes just two days after a military rally and parade in the city’s Martyrs’ Square by a group named “The Libyan Brigades of Revolutionaries” which in a statement afterwards demanded the release of its colleague held in Tripoli. Last July Wissam Ben Hamid accused Kara and Rada of being part of a “malicious clique”. Ghariani has also accused Rada of cracking down on revolutionaries from Benghazi.

Benghazi guards turned on US diplomats in 2012 attack, sources say
[FOXNEWS] An obscure private firm hired by the State Department over internal objections to protect U.S. diplomats in Benghazi just months before the American ambassador and three others were killed was staffed with hastily recruited locals with terror ties who helped carry out the attack, multiple sources told Fox News.

The explosive charge against Wales-based Blue Mountain Group comes from several sources, including an independent security specialist who has implemented training programs at U.S. Consulates around the world, including in Benghazi, where he trained a local militia that preceded Blue Mountain. The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Blue Mountain used local newspaper ads to assemble a team of 20 guards, many of whom had terror ties, after securing a $9.2 million annual contract.

"The guards who were hired were locals who were part of the Ansar al-Sharia
...a Salafist militia which claims it is not part of al-Qaeda, even though it works about the same and for the same ends. There are groups of the same name in Libyaand Yemen, with the Libyan versions currently most active. Tunisia's Shabaab al-Tawhid started out an Ansar al-Sharia and changed its name in early 2014. It still uses the old name now and then, probably because the stationery's not all used up and the web site hasn't expired yet...
and Al Qaeda groups operating in Benghazi," said the source, whose assignment in Benghazi had ended in November 2011. "Whoever approved contracts at the State Department hired Blue Mountain Group and then allowed Blue Mountain Group to hire local Libyans who were not vetted."

Many were members of the Libyan government-financed February 17th Martyrs Brigade, an Islamist militia that had previously guarded Americans before being replaced by Blue Mountain.

John "Tig" Tiegen, one of the CIA contractors that responded to the Sept. 11, 2012 attack and co-author of "13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi," confirmed to Fox News that the local Libyans who attacked the consulate that night included guards working for Blue Mountain.

"Many of the local Libyans who attacked the consulate on the night of Sept. 11, 2012, were the actual guards that the State Department under Hillary Clinton

Turkey, US agree on who should seize Raqqah: Pentagon
[AA.TR] key and the U.S. agreed to work on a plan to seize and hold the Syrian city of Raqqah, the so-called capital of the ISIS terrorist group, the Pentagon reported Monday.

The Pentagon has yet to release details but the Defense Department News quoted Gen. Joseph Dunford as saying, "The coalition and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

will work together on the long-term plan for seizing, holding and governing Raqqah". The Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman made the comment Sunday following a meeting in Ankara with Turkish Chief of General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar.

The generals met to coordinate operational planning in different areas, including Raqqah, djinn-infested Mosul

"Obviously as a close ally, we really just want to make sure that we’re completely tight as we work through some challenging issues," Dunford said.

Over the weekend, the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) launched an operation to isolate the city, but the group has been a concern for Turkey because the terrorist PKK/PYD and its military wing, the YPG, lead it, although the U.S. claims that it is multiethnic.

U.S. military leadership has said the SDF would play a role in isolating the city rather than hold it.

"We always knew the SDF wasn’t the solution for holding and governing Raqqah," Dunford said. "What we are working on right now is to find the right mix of forces for the operation."

Turkey has proposed having local Arabs enter and hold the city.

Dunford also acknowledged that "a predominantly Arab and Sunni Arab force" is needed for the operation.

"And there are forces like that. There is the moderate Syrian opposition, the vetted Syrian forces and the Free Syrian Army
... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund...
forces, and there is some initial outreach to forces in Raqqah proper," he added.

on Monday, clearing a pocket of faceless myrmidons outside the city while Iraqi troops wage a fierce urban war with the jihadists in its eastern neighborhoods.

As the operation against Islamic State's Iraqi stronghold entered its fourth week, fighters across the border launched an offensive in the Syrian half of the jihadist group's self-declared caliphate, targeting its base in the city of Raqqa.

An alliance of U.S.-backed Kurdish and Arab groups launched the campaign for Raqqa, where Islamic State has been dug in for nearly three years, with an assault on territory about 50 km (30 miles) to the north which they have dubbed Euphrates Anger.

The battle for Raqqa will be every bit as challenging as the one for Mosul, with both cities carrying huge strategic and symbolic value to the jihadists and their self-declared caliphate covering territory in both Syria and Iraq.

The Iraqi operation, involving a 100,000-strong alliance of troops, security forces, Kurdish peshmerga and Shi'ite militias, backed by U.S.-led air strikes and a global consensus against the jihadis, has so far gained just a small foothold in Mosul.

The Raqqa campaign, launched amid a complex civil war in Syria which has divided world powers, is not coordinated with Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad

Rooshuns delay airstrikes in Aleppo
Russia on Monday said its air force was continuing to hold off on strikes in eastern Aleppo, after terrorists snubbed Moscow’s offer to quit Syria’s second city.

“The ceasefire in the operation of the Russian air force is continuing,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists.

Peskov said that the decision by Putin to keep holding fire remained dependent on terrorists in the city refraining from any concerted attacks on government-held territory.

“If the terrorists don’t resort to offensive actions, to a campaign of aggression, then the president considered it expedient for now to continue the regime, under which the Russian air force does not strike eastern Aleppo,” he said.

Monday while attempting to fly to Libya, federal authorities said.

Aaron Daniels, 20, was taken into custody at John Glenn Columbus International Airport after a monthslong investigation, said U.S. Attorney Benjamin Glassman.

A criminal complaint alleges Daniels told an undercover informant about his interest in traveling overseas to commit jihad. The complaint says Daniels wired $250 in January to a Beirut intermediary for now-deceased Islamic State recruiter and attacks planner Abu Isa al-Amriki.

The complaint said at various times Daniels, who went by the aliases Harun Muhammad and Abu Yusuf, expressed interest in traveling to Afghanistan and Syria to wage war before settling on Libya. In June, Daniels told the undercover informant he wanted to go to Islamic State territory in Libya "so I could support the jihad there," according to the complaint.

Investigators acted when they saw Daniels preparing to fly to Libya via Houston and Trinidad, said Glassman.

"Any time you are providing material support in the form of money or especially as a traveler, someone who's going to go fight on behalf of ISIS is a very serious threat," Glassman said, referring to the Islamic State group by the acronym for Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant

Daniels made an initial appearance in federal court wearing ankle and wrist chains. He was read his rights but wasn't required to enter a plea. His court-appointed attorney declined to comment.

Iraqi forces capture Hammam al-Alil

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – Iraqi joint security forces had liberated the village of Hammam al-Alil south of Mosul, Nineveh, according to a senior commander at the security operation targeting to free the province of Islamic State fighters.

Lt.Gen Raed Shaker Jawdat, head of the federal police, told Iraq’s state TV on Sunday that, “The security forces have liberated the entire village of Hammam Al-Ali, and that stability and security have been restored to the region,” adding that, “Petroleum and other vital facilities became under security control.”

The top commander of the operation, codenamed ‘We Are Coming Nineveh”, Lt. Gen. Abdul Amir Yarallah, had said earlier on Saturday that security forces entered the village and raised the Iraqi flag.

A senior Islamic State leader in Nineveh, nicknamed Abu Hamza Al-Ansari al-Jazairi , was killed in battles at the nearby villages of Erbeed and Qabr al-Abd, according to head of the Nineveh operations in the joint security forces, Maj. Gen. Najm Abdullah al-Jabouri.

Iraqi forces, assisted by popular paramilitary forces and US air forces, are proceeding with a major operation that set on mid October to liberate the city of Mosul, ISIS last stronghold in Iraq. The extremist group has reportedly sustained severe losses in lives and equipment over the past few weeks.

Apparently Hammam Al-Alil was a do over
[AlManar] Iraqi forces retook a key town from the Takfiri ISIL group Monday, a crucial objective on the southern front of the operation to wrest back the city of Mosul.

Federal police, army and elite interior ministry forces established full control over Hamam al-Alil, the last town of note on the way to Mosul from the south, AFP reporters said.

It lies on the west bank of the Tigris river, about 15 kilometers (nine miles) southeast of Mosul.

Iraqi forces have already entered Mosul from the east and were moving close to the city limits from the north on Monday but have some distance to cover on the southern front.

Life quickly resumed in Hamam al-Alil, an AFP cameraman reported, with some residents re-opening shops and other bathing in the town’s sulfur springs.

Soldiers could be seen helping some displaced civilians with their bags.

The recapture of the town clears the way for Iraqi forces to push further north and move to within striking distance of the southern neighborhoods of Mosul.

Mosul’s southern approach is home to the international airport, a vast military area and a large base that Iraqi forces were forced to flee when ISIL took over the city in June 2014.

ISIS Top Turban dies in western Mosul

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – Commander of operation ‘We Are Coming, Nineveh’ announced on Sunday, that the Anti-Terrorism forces managed to kill the so-called Emir of Diwan al-Mal (Treasury) of the Islamic State extremist group, in the western coast of Mosul.

Dupty-Commander of the Joint Operations, Major General Abdel Amir Yarallah said in a press statement, “Heroes of the Anti-Terrorism Directorate managed to kill the terrorist, nicknamed Fares Abu Bakr, the ISIS Emir of Diwan al-Mal, in the western coast of the city of Mosul, after clashed in Hayy Saddam area.”

Earlier this week, Anti-Terrorism forces stationed in the eastern axis of Mosul managed to storm into the western coast of the city, and besiege the areas of al-Karama, al-Malayeen, Shoqaq al-Khadra, Hayy al-Zahraa, Karkokli, Adan and al-Zahabi.

Heavy shelling on LoC leaves houses damaged, cattle killed
[Daily Excelsior] Pakistain army today again resorted to heavy shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Balakote, Mendhar and Mankote sectors in Poonch district causing extensive damage to about a dozen houses while some cattle were killed or injured. The Indian side responded to the shelling very effectively, damaging some Pak posts.

Official sources told the Excelsior that Pakistain army after shelling Krishna Ghati and Sabjian sectors of Poonch district yesterday, today started shelling with 120mm and 82mm mortars and firing with automatic and semi-automatic weapons in Mendhar, Mankote and Balakote sectors at 9.15 am.

The shelling, which had stopped yesterday at 3.30 pm, was resumed at 9.15 am today. The Indian side gave befitting response to Pakistain shelling, which continued till 1.45 pm.

Sources said about a dozen houses were damaged in Pakistain shelling, seven of them extensively and locals, who had become alert after yesterday’s shelling, had narrow escape as they had taken shelter in the houses and bunkers.

"The people were now becoming alert. As soon as the shelling starts, they rushed towards nearby houses and bunkers to save themselves. This was the reason that there was no casualty in heavy shelling by Pakistain today," sources said.

However,

some cattle were trapped in the shelling. There were reports that one cattle was killed and over a dozen others were maimed in Pakistain shelling.

The Indian side retaliated the shelling very effectively and there were reports that half a dozen Pak posts across Mendhar had been damaged extensively.

The shelling ceased at 1.45 pm.

Sources said a family of six persons had very narrow escape at Sakhi Maidaan in Mendhar when a mortar shell went kaboom! close to their house. However,
a woman is only as old as she admits...
since the family was deep inside, they survived. The house was damaged.

Reports said that grass caught fire in some of the villages after mortar shell kabooms.

Both Government and private schools along the Line of Control remained closed in view of shelling. People living along the LoC also remained confined to bunkers and houses, leaving the villages mostly deserted.

Yesterday, two Army jawans were killed and five others -- two soldiers, a BSF officer, a Special Police Officer (SPO) and a woman -- were maimed as Mighty Pak Army opened fire in an attempt to facilitate two infiltration bids along the LoC in Krishna Ghati and Poonch sectors of Poonch district. The Indian troops had successfully thwarted the infiltration attempts, forcing Death Eaters to retreat to Pakistain Indian Kashmiree (PoK).

There have been over 100 ceasefire violations on Indian posts and civilian areas along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmire after the surgical strike.

The worst-ever Pak shelling targeting civil population took place on November 1 when eight persons, including two children and four women, were killed and 22 others injured along the IB and the LoC in five sectors of J&K, forcing Indian troops to give befitting reply by destroying 14 Pak posts and killing two of their troopers.

The State Government had closed over 400 schools along the International Border (IB) and the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu region in wake of the ongoing heavy cross-border firing.

A total of 18 people, including 12 civilians, have been killed and more than 83 injured in Pak shelling and firing along IB and LoC in Jammu.

    Militant killed, Hizb comdr among 3 flee; 2 soldiers injured in Shopian
    [Daily Excelsior] A bully boy of Hizbul Mujahideen was killed and three others, including commander of the outfit, managed to flee out of the security cordon in Shopian district of South Kashmire today.

    Sources said that Shopian police and 62 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) of army cordoned off Wangam village of South Kashmire’s Shopian district after they received specific information about presence of four Death Eaters in a house during the night.

    As the security forces laid siege around the house, four Death Eaters including Hizbul Mujahideen commander Waseem Shah came out of the house opening a volley of fire at around 4 am on security forces. Two soldiers were maimed in the shootout and they were evacuated to the hospital for treatment.

    The three Death Eaters including the commander fled from the cordon taking cover of the darkness and heavy firing while one of them was rubbed out outside the house by the security forces.

    The dead bully boy has been identified as Saddam Hussain Mir resident of village Chitterpora in district Shopian. Sources said that he had joined the militancy a month ago. One AK-47, 5 magazines, 119 rounds and a hand grenade were recovered from his possession.

    This is the second Hizbul Mujahideen bully boy who was killed in past two days in Shopian district of South Kashmire. On November 5, one bully boy of Hizbul Mujahideen, Waseem Ahmad Khanday, resident of Zarkhan village of Kellar in Shopian was killed in Dobjan forests while four of his associates fled from the security cordon under the cover of bushes.

    In the meantime, SOG Pulwama and 55 RR of Army launched a joint operation in Karimabad village of Pulwama district tonight after they received inputs about presence of a group of Death Eaters in the village. However,
    some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
    during the cordon the security forces came under heavy stone pelting from the residence. The operation was on till late night.

    In Macchil sector of Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmire’s Kupwara district Pak troops violated ceasefire by targeting forward posts of Army early today. The troops retaliated and intermittent mortar and machine gun firing was going on.

    Indian and Pak troops are trading mortar and machine gun fire in Macchil and Keran sectors of the LoC after a soldier was killed and his body was mutilated last month on October 28.

    Indian troops next day targeted Pak posts in nearby Keran sector of Kupwara and destroyed four Pak posts. The tension along these two sectors of the LoC continues in North Kashmire.

    Neera Tunden exhorts Podesta to stay on Hillary’s case and "eventually (she) will sound like a human."

    I doubt it, Neera.

    As Dave Chappelle, the comedian, told an audience in New York Friday night, "She’s not right and we all know it."

    She and all the people who surround her.

    They’re these inside-the-Beltway, trust-funded supercilious snots from third-tier Ivy League wannabe schools who, as Victor Davis Hanson put it, "sound quite clever without being especially bright, attuned to social justice without character. Their religion is not so much progressivism as appearing cool and hip and ’right’ on the issues ... . Well-connected and mediocre ... . They write and sound off about the buffoon Trump and preen in sanctimonious moral outrage ... ."

    Even if Hillary staggers across the finish line Tuesday, does anyone really think she can put the genie back in the bottle? Half the country is checking out, has checked out already. Nobody reads the Hillary-worshipping newspapers anymore, or watches their crappy TV networks. They have not a shred of moral authority.

    I’m not worried so much right now about the Second Amendment -- Robby Mook and George Stephanopoulos and the rest of the pajama boys won’t be kicking down anyone’s doors anytime soon, although higher taxes on ammo are certainly on the agenda. Via executive order, of course. Why go the constitutional route when Hillary’s new and improved Supreme Court will rubber-stamp everything?

    Banana Republic -- it’s not just an overpriced clothing store in the mall anymore. We’re living in one, have been for eight years now.

    If Hillary wins, it’s going to be a long winter for the Little Sisters of the Poor and independent filmmakers and anyone else who relies on the protections of the First Amendment. As for the rest of us, these next few years are going to be a lot like they were for dejected Roman citizens in the fifth century A.D.

    The Empire’s over, the barbarian hordes have breached the gates, but if you can just get a flat-bottomed boat and flee to those swamps around Venice, maybe you can fortify the Grand Canal and hold out against the Goths a little while longer.

    As has become abundantly clear, the Clintons don’t believe they are bound by any laws that inconvenience them in the slightest. After all, she’s on record in Brazil as saying that her dream is "open borders." Which are, of course, against the law. But like Obama, Hillary wants to import a replacement population, one as amoral and shiftless as she and her followers. People who, you might say, don’t need no stinkin’ badges.

    If you believe that we are a nation of laws, not men, if you want the laws enforced, especially "without fear or favor" as they used to say -- then Hillary and her supporters denounce you as a, uh, racist, or something.

    John Adams once wrote of the new republic: "Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

    Are we still a moral and religious people? Sadly, I think we all know the answer to that question -- even before the polls open Tuesday.

    #1  Evil cannot be blamed, it's simply a tool of natural selection which pre-dates political candidates or parties. Those of us who exercise 'free will,' reject the moral imperative, and choose the wrong tool are the ones to be blamed.

    Copperheads are fairly common in Georgia. Particularly common near streams and ponds during dry periods where I deer hunt. Nothing particularly evil about the Copperhead. 'Free Will' permits one to stop and observe the creature. 'Free Will' also offers the opportunity to reach down and pick one up. Leaving it undisturbed and simply moving on seems like such an obvious choice.

    #4  While I certainly have my concerns about the state of the State, some of my local evidence goes against the trend;

    My parish has expanded it's facilities twice in the past 10 years. We now have over 2000 families attending. One may be surprised by the number of young families with children that attend. It's no longer just a bunch of white-haired Catholics (like me).

    But more importantly, the parish school has doubled in both space and students this year. Additionally, we've started to add again to the (newly completed) school. We expect to double in size again by 2018. So, I need to raise another $5 million or so starting right now.

    Perhaps the numbers of decent, hardworking folks nationwide is shrinking - I don't know about that. But maybe the (smaller numbers of the) faithful are consolidating and becoming stronger.

    Similar to that of the Marine Corps.

    I can hope.

    "Peshmerga forces now surround Bashiqa’s outskirts and are besieging the town from all sides," Mustafa told Anadolu Agency.

    "We also now control the main road linking Bashiqa to Mosul," he said.

    The majority-Ezidi town of Bashiqa lies some 12 kilometers (roughly 8 miles) to the northeast of Mosul, the regional capital of Iraq’s northern Nineveh province.

    The two regions have a history of festivities and the latest round of fighting erupted after a dispute over buildings planned in Galkayo, a city that is divided between the two sides.

    But before Sunday's festivities, there had been a week-long ceasefire in place.

    Galmudug and Puntland are clashing in the town, which straddles their common border and is divided under the control of rival clan militias. As violence between these groups began to escalate a month ago, schools in Galkayo were forced to close and some people fled the town.

    Under terms of a ceasefire deal mediated by Dubai and which was welcomed by the two sides and Somalia's federal president, forces of both regions were supposed to be withdrawn from the disputed area this past week.

    The deal also called for those who had fled Galkayo because of previous fighting to be allowed to return.

    Prospect of offshore oil offers mixed blessing for Somalia
    [REUTERS] Somalia looks more likely to strike oil than gas in its long pursuit of offshore riches, making it easier for the African state to exploit any windfall but also potentially upsetting the fragile recovery led by its Western-backed government.

    The waters off Somalia, best known for years of piracy, may harbor hydrocarbons at a depth where crude is usually found, seismic services company Spectrum said last week its research showed. This is unlike the seas further south along the African coastline where gas is abundant.

    A senior NIA official said, "The name of the publication house is not the only clue. The diary has other details as well linking the bully boyz to LeT and Hafiz Saeed.     The diary was recovered by an NIA team that took over the investigation on October 9.

    A Home Ministry source said the local police and the Army did not properly search the bodies and vital evidence would have been lost had the bodies been disposed of. However,

    Baramulla SSP Imtiyaz Hussain denied the allegation.

    The three bully boyz were part of a suicide squad and had booby-trapped their bodies with grenades, to inflict casualties on security forces.

    During the Pathankot operation, one of the Jaish-e-Mohammad bully boyz had hidden a live grenade in one of the pouches of his jacket before he was killed. This led to the death of NSG commando E.K. Niranjan when he was retrieving the body.

    Tell-tale signs
    Three AK rifles, three under barrel grenade launchers, magazines, several rounds of bullets, four Icom radio sets, three GPS devices, three cellphones, dry fruits, medicines, a map and a matrix sheet found on the bully boyz had tell-tale imprints of the LeT, said an NIA official.

    A vial containing some medicinal liquid was also found on the attackers with an Urdu sticker saying: "khoon rokne ke liye" (to stop bleeding). The official said the bully boyz had come for a long haul.

    Outrage over beating of Freedom Fighter by Jhenaidah politicos floods social media
    [Dhaka Tribune] CCTV footage of an older man being mercilessly beaten by a group of young men has created an uproar on social media since Monday afternoon.

    The video shows five men launch a lightning attack on an elderly man with canes and a metal rod, repeatedly hitting him on the arms and legs as he tries to protect himself with his bare hands.

    The time stamp on the CCTV image shows that the attack took place on September 18 around 6:40pm.

    Immediately after being floated on Facebook, the footage went viral and comments and opinions from angered netizens started pouring in.

    At one point, a young man in a red shirt comes to the rescue and tries to prevent the perpetrators from continuing to beat him. Eventually, he manages to fend off the attackers, taking a severe beating in the process.

    The injured man appears to be in shock and stumbles into a chair.

    After a brief lull in the violence, the footage shows one of the attackers return. He repeatedly strikes the now injured man who is seen sitting in a chair cradling his injured arm.

    The Dhaka Tribune’s Jhenaidah correspondent Nayan Khondoker identified the older man as Muktar Hossain Mridha, 65, and the young man with the red shirt as Golam Morshed Mridha, 30, from Kripalpur village under Abaipur union of the district’s Shailkupa upazila.

    They are father and son.

    The victim, Muktar Hossain Mridha, was a freedom fighter and a former chairman of Abaipur union. His son is a banker, according to our correspondent.

    Quoting the officer-in-charge of Shailkupa cop shoppe Md Tariqul Islam, Nayan reports that the incident took place in front of Jakir Medico, a pharmacy located in front of Shailkupa Health Complex at the upazila headquarters.

    The incident was captured by the shop’s CCTV camera, the OC said.

    Sumon Mridha, Muktar’s other son, filed a case over the assault on October 19.

    In the case statement, he claimed that 10 local politicos, including the upazila vice-chairman, the Jubo League

    Sumon told the Dhaka Tribune that the defendants have been threatening his family ever since a Jhenaidah court granted them bail.

    The Dhaka Tribune repeatedly attempted to contact Shailkupa police Sub-Inspector Iqbal Hossain, the investigating officer of the case. He has not received the calls.

    The Mridhas are being treated at BDM Hospital in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur area after being transferred from Jhenaidah General Hospital at death's door.

    An official said the attack occurred at Mallam Fatori, a major Boko Haram stronghold on Friday.

    Abu Ali was hit by several bullets as he and his men fought to repel the bully boys.

    The Spokesman of the Military, Col Sani Usman, released conflicting details on the encounter in Malam Fatori leading to public misinformation.

    Usman said on Saturday that a successful encounter in the town of Malam Fatori led to the death of several bully boys, Boko Haram operatives.

    But other sources say a least 46 soldiers were killed, including the high profile officer.

    As the fight against the forces of Evil gets tougher, the Army have also raised the alarm over suspected sabotage by some highly-placed elders in northeast who are aiding the bully boys.

    Clinton made the remarks while speaking to at a November 2015 closed-door fundraiser for Hillary Clinton in Canton, Ohio.

    Echoing a theme of Republican nominee Donald Trump’s campaign, the former president expressed his concern that white, working-class Americans have been left behind over the last eight years.

    Clinton expressed his frustration with the most recent (at that time) Democratic debate, which he said lacked a single mention of the fact that "84 percent of the American people, after inflation, had not had a raise of 1 cent since the financial crash."

"And in the middle of all this we learned, breathtakingly, that middle-aged, non-college-educated white Americans’ life expectancy is going down and is now lower than Hispanics, even though they make less money."

    Abu Sayyaf seizes German sailor, kills companion
    [PhilStar] The Abu Sayyaf claimed to have seized a German sailor and killed his female compatriot aboard a private yacht off Tawi-Tawi.

    Abu Sayyaf sub-leader Muamar Askali, alias Abu Rami, the self-styled spokesman of the terrorist group, claimed that they are holding as captive 70-year-old Juegen Kantner. He said Kantner's female companion Sabina Wetch was gunned down when she fought back.

    Askali claimed that they intercepted the victims' yacht as it was cruising in the vicinity of Tanjong Luuk Pisuk, Sabah.

    Military spokesman Filemon Tan Jr. confirmed that civilian residents discovered a corpse aboard a sky blue yacht bearing a German flag in the vicinity of Laparan Island, Pangutaran town, Sulu early Sunday morning.

    Tan said the victim, said to be in her 50's, bore gunshot wounds and a shotgun was found next to her.

    Taliban commander quits peace efforts
    A Taliban commander who joined the peace process in Sar-e-Pul province two months ago, returned to the insurgent group after killing five public uprising members and taking their weapons.

    According to local security officials the incident happened on Sunday night.

    "He had relations with the enemy. He killed five public uprising forces," said Sayed Naqib Darman, head of operations in Sar-e-Pul Police Headquarters.

    According to the officials, another commander of the Taliban who joined the peace process in spring, also returned to the insurgent group and is now leading the war against security forces in Faryab province.

    Meanwhile, a number of MPs from Sar-e-Pul said the issue of Taliban fighters joining the peace process and then back-tracking has happened on several occasions in the province.

    Analysts have criticized intelligence and investigative organizations and said such incidents will affect government's efforts to achieve peace.

    "They [Taliban members] come and return with more facilities after a short time. It can be a tactic for them to protect their group," said Jawed Kohistani, a military analyst.

    Meanwhile, the defense ministry's deputy spokesman, Mohammad Radmanish, said: "Serious measures will be taken against them according to the army's capacity."

    Reports indicate that a number of Taliban members have also returned to the battlegrounds after being released from prison by government.
