Leaked Russian interference report raises U.K. vote questions
[Ynet] A senior Labour party official says leaks from a report on Russian interference in British politics raises serious questions about the security of next month's election.

The Sunday Times says the report from Parliament's intelligence committee concludes that Russian interference may have affected Britain's 2016 Brexit referendum, though the impact was unquantifiable. The Times says the report discusses the impact of articles posted by Russian new sites that were widely disseminated on social media.
I guess claims of Russian interference will be integral part of any "western" elections annoying EUSSR and friends (such as USA 2016) from now on
Given that there have been Soviet [Russian!!!] spies and fellow travelers throughout the the Labour Party and the bureaucracy since the 1920s or ‘30s, I’m not sure what is different or concerning about the Brexit vote.

Republicans introduce legislation to block sanction waivers for Iran
[JPost] The bill seeks to revoke waivers for civil nuclear projects with Iran that were established under the 2015 Iran nuclear deal

Republicans in both the House of Representatives and Senate introduced on Friday legislation that would formally void some critical parts of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal. According to a joint statement of the group ‐ some 22 members of the House, spearheaded by Rep. Liz Cheney, and Senators Ted Cruz, Lindsey Graham, Marco Rubio and others, decided to introduce the legislation "in response to the Trump administration's repeated issuance of waivers for civil nuclear projects contemplated by the deal."

The bill seeks to revoke waivers for civil nuclear projects with Iran that were established under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). The waivers were recently renewed by the State Department on November 1, which make these projects immune from US sanctions.

This bill specifically revokes a waiver for the Fordow facility, a military bunker that Iran built deep inside a mountain, the group said in a statement. "As seen in the nuclear archive uncovered by Israel, Tehran intended to produce weapons-grade uranium at Fordow for one to two nuclear weapons per year. Iran is already violating the deal by enriching uranium at this facility. The bill also revokes a waiver for the Arak facility and a waiver for the transfer into Iran of enriched uranium for the Tehran Research reactor."

India-Pakistan
India's human spaceflight set for December 2021
India's human space flight mission is on schedule with a launch date of December 2021 and the first of two unmanned test flights taking off in December 2020, a top official told a Dubai space summit.

India will be sending its astronauts using its own spacecraft and launch vehicle. The selection process for the astronauts is ongoing, with 12 who have already been shortlisted and seven receiving training from the Russian space agency, Roscosmos.

"The objective is to make a habitable space capsule to carry three crew members to low earth orbit and return safely. There will be two unmanned flights before the main flight," Sreerekha said. "Our first unmanned flight will be in December 2020, the second one is July 2021 and the manned flight is December 2021. We have completed the pre-project activities and have already demonstrated some of the critical technologies. In 2007, we had a space capsule return experiment. It came back safely to the Bay of Bengal from orbit. In 2014, we tested the crew module orbit re-entry experiment and we recovered the capsule. This is a similar capsule we are planning to send into orbit with human beings."

ISRO is also increasing its international collaboration to make its human space flight mission a reality. It has signed an agreement with Russia to provide basic preliminary training to their astronauts. More agreements with other nations are in negotiations for specific training and technology-related matters.

ISRO will also be holding a major symposium on human spaceflight programme in January 2020, and has extended an invitation to the UAE astronauts, Hazzaa AlMansoori and Sultan Al Neyadi, to share their experiences in this field.

So far, ISRO has completed 184 space-related missions, which include 78 launch vehicle missions and 106 satellite ones. It launched its second lunar exploration mission, Chandrayaan-2, earlier this year. Even though it failed to land, the orbiter is still operational and has enough fuel for the next seven years. "It is still giving us data," Sreerekha said.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israel elections: All the answers
[IsraelNationalNews] What does it mean "the end of the mandate' on Wednesday?

The jurisdiction to create a government is with Benny Gantz , leader of the Blue and White Party and he has until Wednesday to inform the Knesset that he has succeeded and to present his government.

What will happen then?

If Gantz doesn't succeed then Israel will be in an unique situation that we haven't been in for decades. There will then be a period of 21 days where any member of Knesset can collect signatures from other MKs that prove his ability to form a coalition. If any MK succeeds in gaining 61 signatures then he will have 14 days to form a coalition.

If no MK succeeds to get 61 signatures?

Then 3rd elections will be called within 90 days.

It's been reported that Gantz and Liberman are attempting to form a "minority government." What does that mean?

By law, an Israeli government doesn't need 61 members. This can occur when less than 61 MKs vote on the government or if some members of an existing coalition resign leaving the coalition with less.

Is this possible?

Yes and has happened previously. Rabin stood at the head of a minority government in his second term, as did did Ehud Barak. It can happen in the current situation in two forms; a minority government supported by the Arab parties and Lieberman abstains, or a minority with Lieberman supported by only some of the Arab MKs.

Is this likely?

It's difficult to say but it seems unlikely. Lieberman supporting a coalition with Arab members only days after violence in the south seems odd.

If it's unlikely, why is Netanyahu worried?

Because at this point Liberman and the Arab parties appear to be game. Both sides are unwilling to declare that such a government will not happen.

Erdogan: "Our God commands us to be violent to the kuffar"
[IsraelNationalNews] On October 25, a leader of a NATO member nation openly incited violence against non-Muslims.

On that day, Turkey’s president Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended the Friday prayers at the Great Camlica Mosque in Istanbul. He was accompanied by Istanbul’s governor Ali Yerlikaya, mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, Istanbul’s chief of police Mustafa Caliskan and the head of the Istanbul branch of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), Bayram Senocak.

After the prayers, the hafiz of the mosque recited the Koranic Verse Al-Fath, which means "victory, triumph, conquest" in English. Then Erdogan took the microphone, reciting a part of the verse in Arabic and then in Turkish. He told the congregants:

#13  suburban wine moms are too busy losing their shit over mean tweets.

But the other suburban moms are sending the Trump campaign lots of big checks. I guess they’re as tired of their friends whining as we are. From the Washington Examiner:

Despite a crush of stories that suggest he is losing suburbs largely due to women deserting him, President Trump is seeing a surge in donations from women and is tops in receiving big checks from suburban women.

He has the most big-dollar suburban women donors, 10,534, and has received the most from them, $8,293,135, than any of the Democrats, according to a study from OpenSecrets.org, part of the Center for Responsive Politics.

Overall, he ranks fifth in donations from women at $15.1 million. The leader is Sen. Bernie Sanders at $17.1 million, according to the group.

Statistically, 28% of Trump's "itemized contributions" from women in 2016. For the 2020 election, they are 35%.

But it could be higher, and likely is, said OpenSecrets. That is because it is easier to get information on small donors who give $200 or less from Democrats than the Trump campaign.

Explained the donor analysis, “Campaigns are not required to itemize donations of $200 or less, so we do not have demographic information about Trump's small donors giving to his joint fundraising committees with the Republican National Committee, Trump Victory and the Trump Make America Great Again Committee. An estimated 59% of Trump’s donations are from small-donors, so Trump’s contributions from women are most certainly higher than $15 million. Trump’s totals are underestimated more than the other candidates. Because Democrats are relying on ActBlue and the Republicans are not relying on the Republican equivalent WinRed as significantly, we only have most (not all) donor demographic data for Democratic small-dollar donors.”

While women donors are more pro-Democrat, according to the report, they are not a “monolith” and are clearly open to backing Trump.

In fact, the report ends with a description of the Women for Trump effort in several states that has drawn in donations.

“Trump is heavily relying on white women, especially independents and those who live in the suburbs, to bring him to victory in 2020 as they did in 2016. Although there is declining support for Trump from women shown in some polls, Trump campaign aides and officials argue the polling data does not account for suburban women who favor Trump but do not feel comfortable publicly saying so,” said the report.

The Boggling Retardery of the Impeachment Tantrum
Warning - very intemperate language
[MichaelZWilliamson] The current attempt at impeaching President Trump revolves around a claim of a "quid pro quo" of government aid to the Ukraine, in exchange for them pursuing legitimate law enforcement investigations of your typical Demorrhoid corruption.

First, it is the JOB of the Executive Branch, via State and Commerce Departments among others, to quid pro quo other governments. THAT'S WHAT THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO DO. "You want X? We want Y. Deal?"

Literally. Their fucking. Job.

In 1948, President Truman's administration approved the creation of ARAMCO for the purpose of acquiring oil from Saudi Arabia, while having a means of putting political pressure on them. That's in the actual statements in the authorization.

So the whole trial is a farce to start with. There are legitimate complaints about some of Trump's actions. This isn't one of them. Of course, most that are questionable were exactly what the Demorrhoids wanted, so they're silent on that.

Second, even worse than ascribing the SNL quote of "I can see Russia from my house" that Sarah Palin never actually said, but is now considered "Fake, but accurate," they're basing this on what some Demorrhoid shithead in Congress paraphrased from hearsay from some source he isn't really sure about.

But, even if we assume this might actually result in any credible, pursuable charges from the Fascist Wing of the DNC, what then? First they have to prove the charge, which is non-existent.

Then, it goes to the Republican controlled Senate for follow up. I'm sure they'll give it all the attention it deserves.

But even if they do something: you may remember when this happened to Bill Clinton over actual perjury charges. The result was "Censure." IOW, a letter saying, "We find you to be quite naughty." Nothing substantive.

But even if they actually remove the sitting president from their own party (I dunno, maybe they think it'll be useful later for removing a Demorrhoid for the easily provable charge of being anti-American), it means, by the time they get to that, Trump is gone for the last 5 months of his term.

Which would mean PRESIDENT MIKE PENCE. Now, that asshole was my governor. If you do not like Trump, you will not like Pence even more, who demonstrably IS a Christo-fascist, anti-choice, anti-gay crusader. Seriously? Are you fucking retarded? Apparently.

AND, that still doesn't stop Trump from campaigning to run for office again, and still winning because his followers and most of the mainstream are pretty fucking sick of "liberal" fascist cocksuckers trying to subvert the legal processes for some strange sexual worship and obsession with Trump. Hell, I might even vote for him to just to watch four more years of complete meltdown.

But worst case, it just means PRESIDENT MIKE PENCE. Jesus tittyfucking Christ in a pink tutu on a pogo stick, are you...well, yes, obviously you ARE that fucking stupid.

What we really need is to quid pro quo some foreign government's intelligence service into assassinating the entire DNC membership. But Trump is too soft and liberal for that.

#3  Another nice summary of the ludicrous play acting, absurd rhetoric and gross incompetence on display in this farce. But there's no need to mangle the English language and create clumsy, painful-to-threat internet newspeak a la "retardery" (or equally dumb non-words like "assholery" or "libtard" etc).

"The Shitshow" captures and expresses this nicely. Suitably vulgar but concise, vivid, and accurate.

#6  Demmorrhoid is a good one. And it is fascinating that Demmorrhoids seem not to realize they're gonna get Pence in Trump's place. I think one of the funniest possible outcomes of this whole miserable process would be for Pence to beat the crap out of the Demorrhoid nominee in November 2020 and get a Republican controlled House to boot.

I Didn't Have to Die on This Hill, But I Did
[AmGreatness] Call me Mr. Unicorn. I have degrees in political science, English, and classics‐and I have done extensive work both in ethnic studies and classics. In Los Angeles I found myself teaching at an uber-liberal California college that loved my multicultural work though it viewed my work in classics with suspicion. They suspected at first, then confirmed that my love of the classics might encourage an unstylish conservatism.

On October 3, 2014, I brought students to a conference at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. Because of that, some women and gays charged me with discrimination. The Title IX investigation felt absurd. The greatest irony surrounding the spectacle stemmed from what the event at the Reagan Library actually was. It was called "Bonds that Matter" and it was about the importance of family relationships across time. I had tasked my students to identify examples of family relationships in great literature and create exhibits for them.

Between October 3, 2014, and August 1, 2016 (and then for another year beyond), I endured a Kafka-esque investigation too convoluted to summarize here. "Experts" were called in to make gross generalizations about the field of literature, deciding that "Bonds that Matter" held no merit. One anthropologist, for example, concluded that these family subjects were not persistent themes in antiquity or the Romantic Era. The anthropologist seemed somewhat clumsy in his discussion about the role of texts like Oedipus Rex or The House of the Seven Gables.

#1  You're right, it's not just the arts.

There's also the perpetual volatility in academics altogether. Allow your passion to get in the way of your job, display an inability to 'play the game', and you'll be set upon by sharks.

The few non-idiots that have the temerity to pursue practicable approaches in sciences or even distinctive ideas in the arts in an institution are always sidelined and leave, like Mr. Unicorn.

I worked with the Defence Institute of Psychological Research (DIPR) or the dipper for a year. It's not the humanities or any academic institution, and does not allow for much ideation. But it has become a bunch of professional naysayers and remf brain nannies trying to mollycoddle soldiers with western liberal solutions. Things like 'indefinite' rules of engagement, humanist approaches to interrogation, 'post-encounter counseling' and that faggot group talk thing where you bare your soul to who-knows-what.

I came to jest that they were foreign agents or receiving some sort of payment from our enemies ☺! Actually I learnt they just imbibe what little they can understand of evolving western psychiatric mores, which are worth jack shit if you ask me. Some 'original' thinkers did try to merge Jungian with Yoga (!) trying to please the new hindoo masters and deliver an ambiguity the likes of which would confound even Mengele. Sycophants all, to one or the other. No real originality anywhere.

I received such opprobrium for my research, and they tried to behave like academics all the time; writing effete complaints, keeping people from assisting me, trying to find out just what we did in our sealed off wing, 'whistleblowing'...

I still have hate letters blaming me with besmirching the medical sciences and using 'a force meant for good' to further political evils. ☺

#3  Sad but all too common. The West is gripped by self-hatred. We worship the greedy and vulgar, and trash our forefathers and their great achievements.

We have replaced our heritage of great art and thought with a culture of meretricious junk and absurd shows of virtue.

Trump is a vulgarian, but let's hope that he can play John the Baptist to a future savior-- i.e. by exposing the lies and nonsense of our elite to such an extent that his successors can attempt to restore respect and love for our western civilization's cultural heritage.

If not, then we need to look outside the US. Look east, to Hungary or Poland or maybe even Russia.

Europe
"What does a 14-year-old want at night in Ulm?" German Mayor regrets statement after rape of 14-year-old. No information on suspect's nationality available.
Auto-translate
[Welt.de] After the rape of a 14-year-old girl in Ulm, Lord Mayor Gunter Czisch calls on parents to fulfill their duty of supervision. This causes indignation - the CDU politician rows back later.

After the presumed rape of a 14-year-old girl, Ulm's Lord Mayor Gunter Czisch (CDU) has issued a statement that has provoked fierce criticism. On Thursday, the 56-year-old told the "Sudwest Presse" how shocked he was. Ulm is a safe city, "but there is no absolute security". The local politician thanked the security authorities for their quick reaction. The constitutional state must now "show a clear edge. No matter where someone comes from".
Used to be safe. Of course, he never sets foot in the dangerous quarters so he's ignorant.
Remember, there is no such thing as a no-go area. To say such a thing reveals either ignorance or racism and an unholy fondness for Fox News.
But Czisch did not leave it at that in his first statement. Sentences followed, which after their publication caused massive criticism, among others in the social networks.

"However, I wonder what a 14-year-old girl wants at night in Ulm. Parents have a duty to ensure that a minor girl does not run around the city alone. I say this so clearly, because we must all take into the duty, if we want to prevent such cases", Ulms mayor further communicated.
Ulm used to be a safe place for a 14 year old to walk at night. Parents haven't caught up with the new normal.
OB apologizes for "misleading" statements After criticizing these statements, Czisch made a second statement late in the afternoon, apologizing and clearly rowing back, according to "Sudwest Presse".

He deeply regretted that his original statement had been "misleading. "Of course, the girl is not to blame. The blame for this act lies exclusively and unequivocally with the suspects." His compassion was for the victim and his family.

An employee of the Ulm city administration confirmed to WELT in the evening that Czisch was of course not interested in giving the girl or her parents even a partial guilt for the crime. Nevertheless, the basic statement "The world is as it is" remained - nobody could guarantee 100 percent security. "We must take care of each other." And women, children and adolescents are particularly in need of protection.

Investigators want to clarify course of events In Ulm, the investigators are certainly continuing their efforts to clarify the possible course of events. These include questions about the drugs with which the girl could have been subdued, it was said on Thursday. "This is the subject of further investigations", said Chief Public Prosecutor Michael Bischofberger to the question of what substances were involved and whether the narcotics were initially taken voluntarily in a group or were forcibly administered to the victim. He did not give details.

Group rape. And criminal law doesn't come with it. The suspects are between 14 and 26 years old according to the police. Arrest warrants have been issued for three of them, aged 15, 16 and 26, at the request of the public prosecutor's office. Two other suspects, aged 14 and 24, were released after provisional arrest. This was common in less serious cases, according to investigators.

So far, the authorities have not provided any information on the nationalities of the suspects. In order to better understand the requested arrest warrants, however, it had been made known that they were asylum seekers,
Unexpectedly.
the spokesman for the public prosecutor's office explained: investigators were assuming a higher risk of flight. The concrete nationalities had not played a role in this.

According to previous information, the 14-year-old had consumed alcohol on the day before All Saints Day (31.10.) when she met one of the later suspects in Ulm, whom she is said to have already known better. She went with him to an apartment in the Illertal (Alb-Donau district) near Ulm. The rape is said to have taken place there. The speaker of the public prosecutor's office referred to the fact that the authorities are obliged to be extremely cautious in their statements about the possible course of events in view of the victim protection for the young people.

Iraq
Protesters Spill Back Onto Bridge in Iraq Capital
[AnNahar] Anti-government demonstrators spread to a second bridge in the Iraqi capital Saturday after security forces retreated from a key area where they had clashed with protesters, AFP correspondents said.

Protesters have occupied Baghdad's Tahrir (Liberation) Square for more than three weeks, demanding the overhaul of a ruling system they see as corrupt and unjust.

On Friday night, at least one person was killed and more than a dozen maimed in Tahrir when explosives beneath a parked car detonated, Iraq's state security forces said.

The protest movement had spilled over onto four bridges crossing the river Tigris that link east Baghdad to the city's west where government buildings and foreign embassies are based.

Security forces retook three of those bridges and nearby districts more than two weeks ago, pinning the protesters back in Tahrir and on al-Jumhuriyah bridge with volleys of tear gas, live ammunition and even machine-gun fire.

On Saturday morning, Iraqi units pulled back from some of those areas and crowds of protesters chased them down, resuming their sit-in at the mouth of al-Sinek bridge.

"The security forces withdrew to another concrete barrier on al-Sinek," one protester told AFP.

An elderly woman, who had travelled from the southern port city of Basra to join the rallies, cheered in support.

"You didn't just lose us, you lost all of Iraq!" she said, addressing Prime Minister Adel Abdel Mahdi.

"Get out, get out, there's no place for you here. Tonight, we'll be in the Green Zone," she said, referring to the area across the river housing Abdel Mahdi's office, parliament, the US embassy and other key buildings.

Dozens climbed up into a large parking complex near the bridge, unfurling a sign in support of demonstrators in nearby Tahrir.

The morning after Friday's blast, small clusters of men deployed around the square to search all those entering it.

"We had a security breach yesterday and this explosion happened," said Abu Karrar al-Basrawi, a middle-aged man from Basra volunteering for the search.

"But we've multiplied our checkpoints so it doesn't happen again," he told AFP.

#1  Perhaps sadeh came early this year for Iran's Zoroastrians?

That would explain the fires:

Fire in the gathic poetry symbolizes “forethought, emotional intelligence, and passionate willpower.” It represents human striving, and the quest for the brilliant wisdom and the unfailing energy of the ahûrás, the pristine god-powers.

The bonfires of sadeh embody the creative genius, and all brilliant efforts that improve mortal existence, and will set the stage for the cosmological triumph of light/genius over stagnation and darkness.

Islamic Jihad in-fighting after Hamas did not join attack on Israel
[Jpost] Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw,' decision to not participate in the latest fighting round has caused a crisis with the leadership of Paleostinian Islamic Jihad

Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...

The armed forces of Islamic Jihad thought that the rocket fire should be increased, while the diplomatic side wanted a ceasefire, Ynet reported.

Sri Lanka
Gunmen fire on buses carrying Muslim Sri Lankan voters
[DAWN] Gunmen fired at buses carrying minority Moslem voters on Saturday as Sri Lankans elected a new president, with the powerful Rajapaksa clan eyeing a comeback seven months after the island was hit by bad boy attacks.

Minority Tamils and Moslems are seen as crucial in the close election, and Saturday's attack in the northwest of the island ‐ in which no one was injured ‐ was likely aimed at deterring people from voting.

The assailants set fire to tyres on the road and set up makeshift roadblocks before shooting at and pelting with stones two vehicles in the convoy of more than 100 buses taking people to their home district to vote, police said.

In the Tamil-dominated northern peninsula of Jaffna, meanwhile, police said they arrested 10 men they suspected of "trying to create trouble", while also complaining that the army had illegally set up roadblocks that could stop people getting to polling stations.

Such tactics are nothing new in Sri Lanka, which emerged from a horrific civil war only a decade ago. At the 2015 election, there was a series of explosions in the region that activists said were aimed at reducing turnout.

This time, there were long queues outside polling stations even before voting began.

Massive blast rocks militant-held town in northern Syria, 13 killed
[ALMASDARNEWS] A massive blast rocked the holy warrior-held town of al-Bab in eastern Aleppo today, local activists reported via social media.

According to the reports, as many as 13 non-combatants were killed and more than 20 others were maimed as a result of what is believed to be a boom-mobileing.

No group has grabbed credit for this latest attack.

Al-Bab was captured by the Ottoman Turkish-backed forces during their 2016 offensive in northern Syria; it has served as a front-line town for their troops and the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in east Aleppo.

State Department Aide Confirms He Overheard Trump On Call Discussing Investigation
[NPR.ORG] A State Department aide testifying behind closed doors on Friday confirmed to House impeachment Sherlocks that he overheard President Trump asking a top U.S. diplomat about political investigations that he was seeking from the president of Ukraine.

The official, David Holmes, was the aide mentioned Wednesday by William Taylor, the acting U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, as having overheard a phone call between Gordon Sondland, the U.S. ambassador to the Europe

an Union, and Trump.

According to Taylor's testimony, a member of his staff ‐ later identified as Holmes ‐ was with Sondland in Kyiv when he overheard Sondland speaking to Trump on July 26, a day after the call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy that sparked the impeachment inquiry. Holmes, according to Taylor, could hear Trump on the phone asking Sondland "about the investigations," and Sondland told the president the Ukrainians "were ready to move forward."

In his statement, Holmes said that Sondland told Trump that Zelenskiy would do "anything you ask him to," and that the Ukrainian leader committed to "do the investigation."

CNN obtained a copy of Holmes' opening statement to the politicians. Holmes' lawyer, Kenneth Wainstein, confirmed to NPR that the statement is an accurate copy of his client's opening statement.

Holmes said he overheard the conversation between the president and Sondland in a restaurant in Kyiv and said the call was loud enough to hear through the phone earpiece, and that Sondland held the phone away from his ear for a period of time and the president's voice was "very loud and recognizable." He said two other staffers were present at the time.

Holmes told the committee Sondland told the president that Zelenskiy "loves your a**." Holmes also acknowledged that he didn't take contemporaneous notes, but said he has "a clear recollection that these statements were made."

Following the call, according to Taylor, Holmes asked Sondland what Trump thought about Ukraine, and Sondland said that Trump cared more about the investigations of Biden.

In his testimony on Friday, Holmes said the call ended and Sondland said the president "was in a bad mood." Holmes said he then asked Sondland if it was true that the president didn't "give a sh** about Ukraine. Sondland agreed, repeating the president did not "give a sh** about Ukraine." After Holmes asked why that was the case, Sondland responded that the president only cares about "big stuff." Holmes said he noted there was "big stuff" related to Ukraine like the war with Russia, but that Sondland replied he meant "'big stuff' that benefits the president," and cited the "Biden investigation" that Rudy Giuliani, his personal attorney, was pushing.

Socialist PBS Advances Stuff That Is Non-Darwinian

On Wednesday night socialist PBS had a nature documentary about a species of crane in China that was not happy about sharing scarce resources with others of their species that are not part of the same family unit. Darwin would think this normal, yet the globalists insist on cultural suicide.
If you have a moment, Fairbanks dear, would you be so kind as to share the name/web link of the documentary? It’s only fair to let us laugh at it, too — they generally allow comments at PBS.

France's yellow vests seek show of strength for anniversary
[AlAhram] French "yellow vest" protesters are planning a series of nationwide demonstrations this weekend in a bid to show the government they can still muster support on the first anniversary of their movement.

Numbers attending the protests and levels of violence have sharply diminished in recent months from the height of the movement, which began on November 17 last year with a giant Gay Paree protest that drew almost 300,000 people.

But the yellow vests want the actions on Saturday -- their traditional day for protests -- and also Sunday -- the anniversary day -- to show President Emmanuel Macron they remain a force to be reckoned with.

Around 200 demonstrations are planned, with authorities expecting several thousand to rally in the capital.

This estimate includes a few hundred radical protesters from the ultra-left and far-right, often behind the worst scenes of mayhem.

La Belle France has a long tradition of violent protest, but the ferocity of last winter's demonstrations and allegations of police brutality shocked the country.

Officials said the magnitude of the weekend protests is far from certain but deputy interior minister Laurent Nunez noted a "more pronounced interest" than in previous weeks, and police would plan their deployment accordingly.

"There will be a significant mobilisation but not on the scale we saw in December and January at a national level," said a French security source, asking not to be identified by name.

"We are expecting a difficult Saturday," said the source, noting that protesters "mobilise at the last minute in a bid to take us by surprise".

STILL IN THE STREET
A poll by the Elabe institute published Wednesday said 55 percent of French people support or have sympathy for the yellow vests, although 63 percent said they do not want the protests to begin in earnest again.

The most prominent figures in the movement, which has explicitly shunned any formal leadership structure, acknowledge the declining numbers but say the authorities' response has not been sufficient.

"We shouldn't still need be on the street one year on," said Priscillia Ludosky, an entrepreneur whose online petition against high fuel prices helped kick off the movement.

"It's unfortunate there has been no political response, but also to see that we are slightly lacking energy in terms of mobilisation," she told the Regards news site.

The yellow vests -- named for the glow-in-the-dark waistcoats all French drivers must carry -- posed the biggest challenge to Macron since he swept to power in 2017 on the back of promises of sweeping change.

They accused Macron of being deaf to the troubles of ordinary French people as he embarked on a major programme aimed at modernising the country.

CRY OF SUFFERING
Initially taken aback by the size and intensity of the movement, Macron offered billions of euros in state aid and tax breaks -- and scrapped a planned fuel tax hike -- while embarking on a "Great National Debate" at town halls nationwide.

He has also tried to soften his sometimes abrasive style. Just weeks before the protests erupted, Macron told a 25-year-old man looking for a job in Gay Paree that "if I crossed the street I'd find you one".

"The yellow vests opened our eyes to the reality for millions of people," Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire said on Friday, adding that the government wanted to respond to this "cry of suffering".

One Facebook event has called for a protest on the Champs-Elysees, but this will once again be closed off to demonstrators following the ransacking of shops that followed a protest last March.

Other rallies are expected in cities including Bordeaux, Lille and Toulouse
...lies on the banks of the River Garonne, half-way between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. The Toulouse metropolitan area is the fourth-largest in La Belle France...
, which have often attracted thousands of people.

The next major street challenge to Macron, however, may not come from the weekend's protests but a strike called by unions on December 5 to rally against his planned pension reforms.
If the money isn’t there, all the protesting in the world will not make it appear.

Paris police fire tear gas on 'yellow vest' protests anniversary

[AlAhram] Police also intervened to prevent a few hundred demonstrators from occupying the Paris ring road, according to Reuters TV footage, 33 arrested by 10:30 a.m. GMT. At its peak in late 2018, the movement grew to up to 300,000 people.

Syrian Army, SDF troops hold strong to prevent Turkish-backed forces from reaching key town
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) were able to beat back an attack by the Ottoman Turkish-backed turbans north of Tal Tamr this weekend.

According to reports from the al-Hasakah Governorate, the joint SAA and SDF troops engaged the Ottoman Turkish-backed turbans at the towns of Dawoudiyah and Arishah on Friday.

The Syrian Army and Syrian Democratic Forces were able to drive back the Ottoman Turkish-backed "Syrian National Army" (SNA) north after a fierce battle that lasted for several hours at Dawoudiyah and Arishah.

While the Ottoman Turkish-backed forces previously captured Arishah, they were unable to hold onto the town after an SDF counter-attack in this area.

At the same time, the Syrian Democratic Forces and Syriac Military Council managed to foil an advance by the Ottoman Turkish-backed turbans in the ’Ayn ’Issa District of al-Raqqa.

"During the attacks of the Ottoman Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on the front lines where the Syriac Military Council were stationed, and the areas outside the agreements, two of our fighters were martyred and six were maimed," ANHA reported on Saturday.

Despite the declaration of a ceasefire in northern Syria by the U.S. administration, the Ottoman Turkish-backed forces have not halted their attacks against the SDF and their allies.

These continued attacks by the Ottoman Turkish-backed forces have resulted in increased bloodshed and a large number of displaced civilians.

The U.S. withdrawal from the Paris Agreement
by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo

[VoltaireNet] Today the United States began the process to withdraw from the Paris Agreement. Per the terms of the Agreement, the United States submitted formal notification of its withdrawal to the United Nations. The withdrawal will take effect one year from delivery of the notification.

As noted in his June 1, 2017 remarks, President Trump made the decision to withdraw from the Paris Agreement because of the unfair economic burden imposed on American workers, businesses, and taxpayers by U.S. pledges made under the Agreement. The United States has reduced all types of emissions, even as we grow our economy and ensure our citizens’ access to affordable energy. Our results speak for themselves: U.S. emissions of criteria air pollutants that impact human health and the environment declined by 74% between 1970 and 2018. U.S. net greenhouse gas emissions dropped 13% from 2005-2017, even as our economy grew over 19 percent.

The U.S. approach incorporates the reality of the global energy mix and uses all energy sources and technologies cleanly and efficiently, including fossils fuels, nuclear energy, and renewable energy. In international climate discussions, we will continue to offer a realistic and pragmatic model ‐ backed by a record of real world results ‐ showing innovation and open markets lead to greater prosperity, fewer emissions, and more secure sources of energy. We will continue to work with our global partners to enhance resilience to the impacts of climate change and prepare for and respond to natural disasters. Just as we have in the past, the United States will continue to research, innovate, and grow our economy while reducing emissions and extending a helping hand to our friends and partners around the globe.

Related: In an interview posted in translation on the Global Warming Policy Forum, Ottmar Edenhofer, then co-chair of the IPCC Working Group III, stated: "One must say clearly that we redistribute de facto the world's wealth by climate policy ... One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with environmental policy any more. ... That will change immediately if global emission rights are distributed. If this happens, on a per capita basis, then Africa will be the big winner, and huge amounts of money will flow there."

violence, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo tweeted on Saturday, as the fragile ceasefire understanding held for its third day in spite of sporadic rocket fire.

"Iran uses its terrorist proxy Paleostinian Islamic Jihad to strike our great ally Israel. Iran does not want peace in the region. It does not want the Paleostinian people to prosper. It wants more conflict. Until we address Iran’s threats, the cycle of violence will continue," Pompeo tweeted.

It’s actions proves that international pressure is needed to curb Tehran’s aggression, he said.

"The way forward is clear: continued pressure until Iran negotiates a comprehensive agreement that includes halting its support to terror groups like PIJ. Nations around the world can no longer claim to want peace in the region yet allow Iran’s threats to go unchallenged," Pompeo wrote.

He spoke out one day after US sanctions against Iran forced its government to introduce gasoline rationing and price hikes of at least 50 percent, drawing sporadic protests and widespread worries over rising inflation despite official promises that the revenue would be used to help needy families. One person was killed and several people were maimed in the city of Sirjan in Kerman province on Friday, the ISNA news agency quoted a local official as saying on Saturday.

Riot police and security forces clashed with demonstrators in Tehran and dozens of cities across Iran on Saturday, Iranian news agencies and social media said. Rooters contributed to this report.

Australian man survives croc attack by gouging its eye
[FRANCE24] An Australian wildlife ranger has recounted his terrifying escape from the clutches of a "particularly cunning" crocodile, after wrestling with the reptile and sticking a finger in its eye.

Craig Dickmann, who made a split-second decision to go fishing last Sunday in a remote part of Northern Australia known as "croc country" last Sunday, said a 2.8-metre (nine-foot) crocodile came up from behind him as he was leaving the beach.

"As I've turned to go, the first thing I see is its head just come at me," he told news hounds on Friday from his hospital bed in the town of Cairns in Queensland state.

Dickmann said the animal latched on to his thigh.

"That noise will haunt me forever I think, the sound of the snap of its jaws," he said.

The 54-year-old said he wrestled with the croc on the remote beach as it tried to drag him into the water.

Dickmann stuck his thumb into its eye, saying it was the only "soft spot" he found on the "bullet-proof" animal.

"Their eyes retract a fair way and when you go down far enough you can feel bone so I pushed as far as I possibly could and then it let go at that point," Dickmann said.

After a few minutes, he said he managed to get on top of the croc and pin its jaws shut.

"And then, I think both the croc and I had a moment where we're going, 'well, what do we do now?'"

Dickmann said he then pushed the croc away from him and it slid back into the water.

The ranger had skin ripped from his hands and legs in the ordeal and drove more than 45 minutes back to his home before calling emergency services.

It was then another hour in the car to meet the Royal Flying Doctors Service who flew him to Cairns Hospital, where he is recovering from the ordeal.

"This croc was particularly cunning and particularly devious, " he said.

Queensland's department of environment this week euthanized the animal.

"The area is known croc country and people in the area are reminded to always be crocwise," the department said in a statement.

Saltwater crocodiles, which can grow up to seven metres long and weigh more than a tonne, are common in the vast continent's tropical north.

Their numbers have went kaboom! since they were declared a protected species in the 1970s, with attacks on humans rare.

Israelis sue Hamas for compensation after family members die

Five Israeli families will file a law suit against Hamas in Jerusalem District Court on Sunday, seeking NIS 500,000,000 in damages from the terrorist organization in compensation for family members killed in terror attacks.

The families who were to be represented by Shurat HaDin, Israel Law Center, argue that financial ramifications may adversely affect the terror organization's ability to instigate terror attacks.

In a groundbreaking move, the families have added to their class action suit three money changers who have worked in the service of Hamas and facilitated the transfer of funds from Iran

Make no mistake, Hamas are all terrorists," said Herzl Hajaj, father of Shir, a 22-year old soldier who was murdered in Jerusalem.

"This is a terror organization and we should not try to reach any (diplomatic) agreements with them."

He added: "It is vital to take financial measures against them as there is an entire monetary scheme in play making them a profit from killing Jews."

There is slim chance that the suit will be successful or that the compensation received will be anything other than very low. Yet the case is unique because of the three money changers, who have assets and bank accounts in the United States that have already been confiscated.

If the court finds in favor of the plaintiffs, legal action could be taken in the U.S. to claim those funds.

Nitsana Darshan-Leitner, the head of Shurat HaDin who is representing the families said: "This is an ongoing battle but the only way to weaken these terror groups is to target their source of funding.

"Money is what allows Hamas to control the civilian population in the Gaza Strip, it allows their production of rockets and mortars and it allows them to maintain an army of killers ready to do their bidding."

She also expressed the hope that by targeting "their funding channels, we may bring them down."

Kamala Harris campaign in meltdown
[POLITICO] Kámala Harris
Former Oakland mayor Willie Brown's former mistress, now a senatrix from California and 2020 Dem presidential hopeful, indistinguishable from the others...
’ campaign is careening toward a crackup.

As the Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, senator crisscrosses the country trying to revive her sputtering presidential bid, aides at her fast-shrinking headquarters are deep into the finger-pointing stages. And much of the blame is being placed on campaign manager Juan Rodriguez.

After Rodriguez announced dozens of layoffs and re-deployments in late October to stem overspending, three more staffers at headquarters here were let go and another quit in recent days, aides told POLITICO. Officials said they’ve become increasingly frustrated at the campaign chief’s lack of clarity about what changes have been made to right the ship and his plans to turn the situation around. They hold Rodriguez responsible for questionable budget decisions, including continuing to bring on new hires shortly before the layoffs began.

Amid the turmoil, some aides have gone directly to campaign chair Maya Harris, the candidate’s sister, and argued that Rodriguez needs to be replaced if Harris has any hope of a turnaround, according to two officials.

"It’s a campaign of id," said one senior Harris official, laying much of the blame on Rodriguez, but also pointing to a leaderless structure at the top that’s been allowed to flail without accountability. Pope Francis Weighs Adding ‘Ecological Sin’ to Church Teachings
[WSJ] Pontiff considers introducing an abiding concern—environmental protection—into Catechism

Jesus is not divine.

Climate change skepticism is a mortal sin.

Chicks with dicks, boys pretending to be girls so they can smash all the athletic records etc are not for us to judge.

And a Church hierarchy that conspires, plans and actually aids the movement of criminal fugitives across national boundaries, all over the world, is not a criminal racketeering organization, punishable under RICO and other federal legislation.

Allying with communists and marxist organizations they simply seek to undermine the industry oriented far-right in every country.

The pope advocates independence from fossil fuels here ! Electric vehicles in the pan-Amazon ?

Besides, this is not about sin or the earth, it's drama to maximize synod reach into local politics and shove those manicured hands into every regime pie from Peru to French Guiana.

Pope Francis even went some new depth to consecrate some 'earth mother fertility goddess' idols with his Byzantine pixie dust. The lying leech.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
ABC News still hasn't explained why it protected Jeffrey Epstein or why it retaliated against the alleged whistleblower
Lots of links at the link for your further delectation, dear Reader. Just clink on the headline and scroll down.
[WashingtonExaminer] It has been eight days since the public first learned from a leaked video of journalist Amy Robach that ABC News executives in 2016 spiked her reporting on high-powered, globe-trotting pedophile Jeffery Epstein and his network of well-connected sexual predators.

It has been seven days since the public first learned that ABC conspired with CBS News to have an individual fired from her job with the latter because ABC suspected that she is the one who leaked the video.

It has been five days since the public first heard from the fired CBS producer, Ashley Bianco, that she was not the individual responsible for leaking ABC’s archival footage of Robach.

It has been one day since the public first learned that ABC is still hunting for the real leaker, who is apparently still employed by the network, and that top executives are reportedly "freaking out" over the anonymous employee’s secret identity.
Are they? How very, very delightful.
In all this time, ABC has refused to provide the public with a credible or reasonable explanation for any of its actions. The news network has yet to explain, beyond offering dubious boilerplate statements about "editorial standards" (difficult to swallow, given how this, this, and this apparently met ABC’s rigorous "editorial standards"), why it "quashed" Robach’s reporting on Epstein, even though she claims she had plane logs, pictures, and "everything" for the story.

And the news network has yet to explain why it is putting so much more effort into flushing out the leaker, going so far as to get a rival network to fire one of its own employees, than it ever put into flushing out the alleged head of a global network of child sexual abusers.

I cannot stress enough just how big of a media scandal this is.

ABC News spiked a story about a prolific pederast and his cohort because, according to the journalist whose coverage was killed, the report implicated a member of the royal family and the news network was hungry for an exclusive interview with Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.

There is no version of reality where ABC does not look evil in this.

This entire episode is about much, much more than a report failing to meet the network’s "editorial standards." The way things look, ABC is involved in a far-ranging conspiracy to protect child abusers. If ABC News were a Catholic priest, it would surely be indicted.

It is on ABC to dispel that notion. The network's strategy for dealing with this scandal appears to be to batten down the hatches and wait for things to blow over. The network is depending on silence from the rest of the corporate news media and the likelihood that the public will forget about this Epstein business and move on.

Don't let it happen.

Nearly 80,000 immigrants approved for DACA have arrest records, USCIS report finds
[FoxNews] Nearly 80,000 immigrants approved for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which shields those who came to the country illegally as minors from deportation, have an arrest record -- including arrests for violent or sexual offenses.

The data released Saturday by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) shows only arrests or apprehensions for a criminal offense or an immigration-related civil offense and does not take into account whether there was a conviction, acquittal, dismissal or a lessening of charges.

The report finds that of the nearly 889,000 applicants for the DACA program, 110,000 had arrest records. Of the more than 765,000 approved for DACA, 79,398 had arrest records. Of that number, 67,861 were arrested before their most recent DACA approval, while 15,903 were arrested after their most recent approval.

The offenses incurred by DACA requestors who were arrested before their most recent approval include battery (3,421), assault (3,308), burglary, breaking and entering (1,471), rape (62), murder (15) and theft or larceny (7,926). The largest population arrested were suspected of driving-related offenses excluding DUIs (23,305) and immigration-related offenses (12,968.)

The report comes as the Obama-era program’s constitutionality is under examination at the Supreme Court. Oral arguments in the case began this week.

“As DACA continues to be the subject of both public discourse and ongoing litigation, USCIS remains committed to ensuring transparency and that the American people are informed about those receiving DACA,” USCIS Acting Director Ken Cuccinelli said in a statement.

“This agency is obligated to continue accepting DACA requests from illegal aliens as a direct result of the previous administration’s decision to circumvent the laws as passed by Congress. We hope this data provides a better sense of the reality of those granted the privilege of a temporary deferral of removal action and work authorization under DACA,” he said.

The Trump administration announced its plan to phase out the program in 2017, only for the federal courts to rule that it could not apply retroactively and that DACA should be restarted in full. The White House fought back against those decisions, saying the president has broad authority over immigration enforcement policy.

Trump on Tuesday ripped into the program, saying that some in DACA are “far from ‘angels’” but also promising to make a deal to let recipients of the program stay.

“Many of the people in DACA, no longer very young, are far from ‘angels,’” Trump tweeted. “Some are very tough, hardened criminals. President Obama said he had no legal right to sign order, but would anyway. If Supreme Court remedies with overturn, a deal will be made with Dems for them to stay!”

Failed then, and elicited tens of millions illegals to bum rush the border and try their luck.

If we do Amnesty Part 2, how many tens of millions more illiterate, unskilled peasant aliens -- and this time not just Central Americans but people from all over S. America and even Africa and Asia -- will this foolish Shitshow act attract into this country.

Afghanistan
‘Over 615’ Surrendered Daesh Members: MoD
[ToloNews] The high number of surrenders, which includes women and kiddies, is due to ramped-up military operations, said MoD.

Eighteen ISIS members accompanied by 24 women and 31 children surrendered to Afghan forces on Friday in Achin district, Nangarhar
The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country..
province, the Defense Ministry said in a statement on Saturday.

The total number of ISIS bully boyz and family members who have surrendered to Afghan forces in the past two weeks is "over 615," according to the Defense Ministry, which attributes the recent mass surrenders to increased operations against "terrorists" by security forces.

On Thursday, 82 ISIS fighters handed over their weapons and surrendered to Afghan cops in Achin district of Nangarhar, and were accompanied by 51 women and 96 children.

On Wednesday, ’at least 300’ ISIS members, including women and kiddies, surrendered to Afghan Special Forces
...established in 2007 with the intent of taking one conventional infantry kandak (battalion) from each of the regional ANA corps, giving them special training and equipment, and reorganizing based on the U.S. Army Rangers. Each battalion is assigned to one of the six regional corps. The commandos comprise 7% of the Afghan National Security Forces but conduct 70% to 80% of the fighting...
in Nangarhar, according to Commander Waliullah, the Army Special Forces commander in Achin district.

According to Abdulhaq Omeri, a TOLOnews news hound, a number of those 300 ISIS members are Pak citizens. But interviews with ISIS members indicate that fighters come from a variety of countries.

"There were ISIS members from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Iran, Kurdistan and Iranian Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
, and they were staying in our guest house, but not for a long time. After having a meal or resting for a night they would move on to other areas," said Abdul Wahid, 35, a former ISIS member from Afghanistan’s Farah Province, who surrendered among the 300 on Wednesday.

Syria’s electronic warfare systems causing problems for Israeli air defenses
Again? That’s just asking for trouble.
[ALMASDARNEWS] Syria’s electronic warfare systems are allegedly causing problems for Israel’s air defenses, the Russian aviation publication Avia.Pro reported on Saturday.

"The unsuccessful defense against the Paleostinian rocket attacks from the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip by the Israeli Iron Dome missile defense systems received a logical explanation. As it turned out, from the territory of Syria the unknown electronic warfare systems, which, by the way, are available only in the armament of Russia and Iran, affected the areas where Israeli missile defense systems were located, and this fact is perfectly confirmed by satellite data," the publication said.

According to the report, the Syrian electronic warfare systems caused Israel’s air defenses to malfunction, leading to some Paleostinian rockets landing inside of Israel.

"Previously, social media accounts published photos and videos on which it was quite possible to see problems with the operations of the Israeli missile defense systems ‐ the most striking example is the launch of a missile defense in the absence of targets and its subsequent spontaneous explosion," they added.

Recently, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad

Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
(PIJ) have traded hostilities in the Gaza region. These hostilities began earlier in the week when the IDF assassinated the leader of Saraya al-Quds (PIJ military wing), Baha’a Abu al-Atta, in the Gaza Strip.

5 arrested after shooting at New Jersey high school football game that injured 3
Damn those White Supremacists!.....um
[10 News] PLEASANTVILLE, N.J. ‐ Five men have been arrested in connection with a Friday night shooting at a New Jersey high school football game.

Three people were struck by the gunfire, including a 10-year-old who is listed in critical condition, a 15-year-old boy who suffered a graze wound, and a 27-year-old man who is in stable condition and will undergo surgery, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

Alvin Wyatt, 31, is the man accused of opening fire at the game. He's being charged with three counts of attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

Four other men at the game have been connected to the shooting. They've been identified as 27-year-old Michael Mack, 28-year-old Tyrell Dorn, 27-year-old Shahid Dixon, and 26-year-old Vance Golden.

After the shooting, the prosecutor's office says the four men fled in a vehicle from the Absecon Police Department into Atlantic City. While entering the city, one of the passengers allegedly threw a gun out of the vehicle.

In the end, the four men were arrested on charges of unlawful possession of a weapon, and certain persons not to possess a weapon, according to the prosecutor's office. Dixon is also being charged with eluding.
So, what we need to do is confiscate legal weapons?

What Happened to California Republicans?
[NationalReview] After three decades of radical progressivism, California residents are tiring of one-party straitjacket rule.

From 1967 to 2019, Republicans controlled the California governorship for 31 of 52 years. So why is there currently not a single statewide Republican officeholder? California also has a Democratic governor and Democratic supermajorities in both houses of the state legislature. Only seven of California’s 53 congressional seats are held by Republicans.

#4  Neofeudalism.

The middle class is shrinking. S.t. like 200,000 middle-class households leave each year, replaced by a 10/90 mix of super-wealthy techies (10% max) and super-indigent illiterates from Mexico and Central America (90%+).

The best gauge of this mix is the California Dept of Education's demographic stats. For over 30 years, the CA public school population has been shedding middle class whites and adding poor Latinos.

Typically, the Latino share of the total public school population increases one percentage point each year. This is how the CA schools went from a bad-but-manageable 20% Latino population in the late 1980s to over 50%, and still climbing, today. Now for the fun part: per the CDE, which helpfully disaggregated the ed stats by ethnicity in great detail, Latinos - who now constitute an absolute majority of CA school kids - are failing at rates of >70% in Language Arts and 85-90% in Math. At all grade levels. For both recent immigrants and 2nd- or 3rd or nth generation Latinos. Failing, in huge numbers. Failing.

And this failing majority-minority is soon to be the majority, period, in the state. The thin sliver of great wealth along a few tiny coastal enclaves cannot hide the fact that California's social model is converging with Latin America's: neo-feudal oligarchy.

aka Banana republic. If youcan keep it, California

Not tired enough apparently.

This is the future for the rest of the country.

It's ironic. Federal judges did this to the state and now state judges (Aloha!) are doing it to the rest of the country.

#7  So why is there currently not a single statewide Republican officeholder?

One reason is the recent voting rules change that gives the two candidates with the highest vote totals in the state-wide primaries a place on the ballot rather than picking the highest from each party.

The best gauge of this mix is the California Dept of Education's demographic stats.

An even more dramatic example is U-Haul truck rental truck rates.
A 20' truck from Oakland, CA to Dallas, TX costs ~$3,000.
Going the other way from Dallas to Oakland is ~$1,000.

#8  Demographics explains CA schools' slide from best in the nation to 49th. It's ENTIRELY due to the shift from <20% Mexican/C. American to the current 53% proportion. Entirely.

As go the schools, so goes the state's politics and culture.

Demographics explains CA's slide. Stop illegal immigration, shift to skills- and points-based immigration, and deport re illegals -- and you might just have a shot at reversing CA's slide.

But if none or just some of the above happens, CA is finished as a middle-class, healthy, well-governed Democratic polity.

#17  The American identity cannot be separated from the values, assumptions, tendencies and practices of English reform Protestantism. Thanks to this culture, Catholics in this country have more in common with each other than Catholics do with their Irish or Italian cousins.

California's reigning techno-, entertainment, politico- and socio-cultural elites piss on this culture daily. The virtues of humility, self-restraint, politeness, immunology provision, simple good works, respect for the land and for common sense-- these Yankee and midwestern virtues are scorned by California's shitty self-aggrandizing elites.

These people belong in a Latin-style oligarchy-- Brazil, maybe, or Mexico City. A place where corruption is taken for granted, where hypocrisy rules, where the middle class struggles and the elite huddles with its servants behind tall walls and electrified gates.

F--- these bastards. They have ruined the golden gift that was California.

At least 15 killed in eastern Congo by suspected Islamist terrorists
[Jpost] Suspected Islamist hard boyz killed at least 15 people overnight in eastern Congo, local officials said on Saturday, in the latest massacre since the army launched a major offensive against the rebels last month.

Democratic Republic of the Congo
...formerly the Congo Free State, Belgian Congo, Zaire, and who knows what else, not to be confused with the Brazzaville Congo aka Republic of Congo, which is much smaller and much more (for Africa) stable. DRC gave the world Patrice Lumumba and Joseph Mobutu, followed by years of tedious civil war. Its principle industry seems to be the production of corpses. With a population of about 74 million it has lots of raw material...
's army initiated its latest campaign, with support from U.N. peacekeepers, on Oct. 30 to root out fighters from the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) from the dense forests near the Ugandan border.

As was the case during previous military operations against the ADF, its fighters have retaliated by attacking civilians, killing more than 40 since last week, according to local civil society activists.

Attacks blamed by the government on the ADF have killed hundreds of civilians since 2014.

The attacks on Friday in and around the village of Mbau were carried out with bladed weapons, local officials said. Among the eight victims in Mbau were six members of a single family.

Seven members of a Pygmy ethnic group living in the nearby forest were also killed, officials said. Their bodies were found tied up and their throats had been slit.

"The rebels are attacking civilians in order to spread confusion and panic among the population," said Donat Kibwana, the regional administrator in the nearby city of Beni.

Mbau residents said it had taken many hours for soldiers based nearby to respond, a common complaint after attacks in the area.

Army officials were not immediately available for comment.

Researchers and rights groups say some Congolese soldiers and other rebel groups have also participated in massacres since 2014 for a variety or motives often related to competition for power in lawless zones dominated by dozens of militia groups.

Several of the previous attacks by the ADF, which was founded in Uganda in 1995, have been claimed by Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
, but the extent of their relationship remains unclear. The ADF is not known to have publicly pledged loyalty to Islamic State.

Michael Bloomberg Fails to Garner Support Nationally, Poll Shows
[BREITBART] Billionaire Michael Bloomberg is failing to garner significant support for his longshot presidential bid nationally, a Rooters/Ipsos poll released this week shows.

Bloomberg, who signaled his intention to jump into the crowded Democrat primary field this week by filing paperwork to appear on the ballot in Arkansas’ March 3 presidential primary, is failing to see any sort of significant support nationally, according to the latest Rooters/Ipsos poll.

The poll, which surveyed 2,235 adults between November 12‐14, 2019, showed only three percent of Democrats and independents supporting the former New York City mayor.

#2  Best outcome would be for Sanders to surge, the DNC and superdelegates to thwart him at the convention and nominate Biden, and Sanders to run on an independent ticket with a loon like BugEyes or Batshita or Omar.

That would guarantee a landslide for Trump.

#3  The poll, which surveyed 2,235 adults between November 12‐14, 2019, showed only three percent of Democrats and independents supporting the former New York City mayor.

Because one of the few things that unites most Americans is that we can't stand the guy?
