Steve Bannon: I Warned Roger Ailes that Megyn Kelly Would Turn On Him
Helplessly lame excerpt: "I categorically deny the allegations Megyn Kelly makes about me," Ailes said. "I worked tirelessly to promote and advance her career, as Megyn herself admitted to Charlie Rose. Watch that interview and then decide for yourself. My attorneys have restricted me from commenting further -- so suffice it to say that no good deed goes unpunished."
He needed a 'warning?' Admit it Roger, you're a dumb arse, a wealthy dumb arse, but still a dumb arse. Next time, keep the door open and make sure others are in the room !

New CIA Director Mike Pompeo on torture, Muslims, terror, Iran, NSA spying
[Kansas City Star] WASHINGTON Rep. Mike Pompeo of Kansas, just tapped to be Donald Trump’s new CIA director, has had a lot to say about torture, Muslims, terrorism, the Iranian nuclear deal and NSA spying. Here’s a sample:

Pompeo on the release of the 2014 Senate torture report:

"Our men and women who were tasked to keep us safe in the aftermath of 9/11 -- our military and our intelligence warriors -- are heroes, not pawns in some liberal game being played by the ACLU and Senator Feinstein," Pompeo said in a statement on Dec. 9, 2014. "These men and women are not torturers, they are patriots. The programs being used were within the law, within the constitution, and conducted with the full knowledge Senator Feinstein. If any individual did operate outside of the program’s legal framework, I would expect them to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

"It is hard to imagine a sound reason that Senator Feinstein would put American operators and their families at risk--by demanding the release of details that are not in any way related to the legality or appropriateness of the programs. The intelligence collection programs described in the report have been in the news and hot topics for discussion for years. The sad conclusion left open is that her release of the report is the result of a narcissistic self-cleansing that is quintessentially at odds with her duty to the country.

"Moreover, the release of this report makes our nation is less secure. Our friends and allies across the world, who have worked closely with us to crush the Islamic jihad that threatens every Kansan and every American, now know the United States government will not honor its commitments. Their willingness to work with us in the future is now greatly diminished."

Pompeo on American Muslims:

"It’s been just under two months since the attacks in Boston," said in a speech on floor of the U.S. House of Representatives on June 11, 2013. "In those intervening weeks, the silence of Muslim leaders has been deafening. And that is sad, but most importantly, it is dangerous. When the most devastating terrorist attacks on America in the last 20 years come overwhelmingly from people of a single faith, and are performed in the name of that faith, a special obligation falls on those that are the leaders of that faith. Instead of responding, silence has made these Islamic leaders across America potentially complicit in these acts and more importantly still, in those that may well follow."
Con't.

Santa At Sanford Mall Replaced For Saying Hillary Clinton On Naughty List
The mother told Towne Center management the incident happened Tuesday night when she brought two of her children to see Santa.

She said when her 10-year-old daughter told him what she wanted for Christmas, he told her she was on his nice list.

She said he then asked her, "Do you know who is on my naughty list? Hillary Clinton." The girl said he then laughed.

The girl's mother called management, and a representative told News 6 that mall officials called the company that hired Santa.
Hush little snowflake, don't say a word;
Mommy's gonna make Santa a jailbird . . . .

News 6 found out that company is The Noerr Program, Inc., which provides Santas to malls around the country. A spokesman said the Santa in question told them he thought it was a joke, but when the mother called to complain, they removed him from the mall floor.

Spokesman Charlie Russell said his company apologized to the girl's family.

He also said the Santa in question was sent to counseling in human resources.

When asked if the Santa would be returning, Russell said he didn't know.

News 6 on Wednesday night found a replacement Santa waving to shoppers and waiting for someone to tell him what they wanted for Christmas.

Refusing To Serve Customers You Don't Agree With Is Suddenly Cool Again
[Federalist] Remember how it was the height of bigotry for religious objectors to decline to participate in a gay wedding? But now it's brave to decline to sell Melania Trump a dress.

To the many things the Trump administration in waiting has made cool again, add private businesses refusing service to customers based on moral objections.

Friday, fashion designer Sophie Theallet, who has dressed the current first lady Michelle Obama, offered a preemptive refusal to hypothetically dress the next first lady, Melania Trump, should she ask for some of her clothes-- presumably not the ones available at The Gap. In her unsolicited letter, Theallet informed the world that a person who did not ask for any of her clothes would not be getting them.

"As one who celebrates and strives for diversity, individual freedom and respect for all lifestyles, I will not participate in dressing or associating in any way with the next First Lady," the letter reads. "The rhetoric of racism, sexism, and xenophobia unleashed by her husband’s presidential campaign are incompatible with the shared values we live by."

"I encourage my fellow designers to do the same," it goes on.

In refusing service to Trump, Theallet appealed to "individual freedom" and the idea of her art as an expression of the company’s "artistic and philosophical ideals." Her announcement was called "noble," "patriotic," and "admirable integrity."

'Fauxcahontas' issues maleficus 'binders full of wimin' comment
[The Hill] Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) jabbed at Donald Trump and Mitt Romney over reports that the former governor was being considered for a Cabinet position, recalling Romney's 2012 remark about "binders full of women."

"Gov @MittRomney: when you're meeting with @realDonaldTrump, maybe you could bring your binders full of women with you?" Warren tweeted, along with a picture of Trump’s mostly male shortlist of Cabinet candidates.

The comment was referencing a remark the former Massachusetts governor made during the 2012 presidential campaign, when he said that he had consulted "binders full of women" when filling out his administration.

Trump and Romney are scheduled to meet on Saturday at the president-elect’s golf course in Bedminster, N.J. Romney is reportedly being considered for secretary of State.

NSA Director Adm. Rogers is likely pick for DNI Clapper replacement
[Free Beacon] Donald Trump will likely appoint National Security Agency Director Adm. Mike Rogers as the administration’s director of national intelligence, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday, citing two unnamed sources.

Rogers met with Trump at Trump Tower in New York on Thursday.

The potential appointment of Rogers, who has headed the NSA and U.S. Cyber Command since 2014, could complicate Trump’s desire for closer ties with Russia. The NSA director reiterated earlier this week that Moscow was responsible for hacking into the Democratic National Committee’s computer network in an attempt to influence the U.S. elections.

Trump meanwhile has publicly cast doubt on U.S. intelligence officials who overwhelmingly concluded that Moscow had interfered with the election.

I guess I haven't seen the Moscow indicators popularized as much as the Stuxnet pointers were. Then, everybody in the business wanted a say. Now it's quiet. I suppose to mask covert channels involved in the analysis.

However, after reading this, I'm not opposed to the conspiracy theory that the hack was perpetrated within the NSA et. al. environs

#3  We need a ranking system for these picks, like 1 to 5 liberal tears
Posted by: Frank G || 11/19/2016 9:01 Comments || Top||

#4  I have no past or current experience with this officer, so I have no opinion, other than to stress that this is an appointment that deserves a lot of scrutiny no matter who it named.

Warning: this will be necessarily wordy.

As a former intelligence person, let me say that it is vital that we know our enemies plans before his actions, but it is also vital that we are not to impinge on our own liberty in achievement of that goal. And it is vitally important that the Director of National Intelligence and his subordinates (especially DIRNSA) set the example for the entire IC by being a strong ethical and moral voices against potential abuse of the system by anyone, but especially political operatives in furtherance of domestic political goals.

Consider these things:

There has been turnover at these agencies. Is there at reason for the turnover? I believe some of it is that the Obama administration is rife with unscrupulous people who don't give a crap about individual Constitutional rights. This is especially true if individual rights are keeping the political hacks from a Progressive political goal.

Also consider the potential for abuse of domestic information gathered by the Obama administration era NSA. The last PATRIOT Act legally expanded and extended DNI (Digital Network Intelligence) programs along with massive automated warrantless domestic voice intercepts and collection. This includes actual content including voice, but the real haul is in the DNI and associated metadata. There are safeguards against domestic abuse but they ultimately rely on people resisting the ability to misuse these databases and systems. In other words, your liberty hangs on the moral character and good will of people working in the IC and their ability to resist political pressure from above. Support from the highest levels is vital for these people to stand tall.

Finally, know that some left when the precursors of the current the programs first came online and were used domestically, and more left after the current CINC showed how he was going to run things.

That should give you an indication of just how important this appointment is.

They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety -- B. Franklin (per Bartlett in 1910)

#12  Keep an eye on this guy. He got to head up NSA under Obama. Ask yourself why.

Oldspook information is outdated. The reason Obama did not do more is that people quit and refused rather than go along with it more than you know. The publicly known
Program names deleted based on advice. We try to be extra careful here because while some Rantburgers (like me) are utterly civilian and ought not know about some things, other Rantburgers are active duty and have clearances of various sorts, and can get into trouble if they are in the presence of the mention of them. We had the same problem with Wikileaks -- though many things had been dragged into the public eye, those with clearances still were not able to be informed about them.

With many thanks for your consideration,
trailing wife at 4:53 p.m. ET
aluded to above are all threats to liberty in the wrong hands and nobody in the Congress wanted to examine the safeguards. Neither did the Obama regime. They only paid lip service and continued to do things the Chicago/Alinsky way.

We need the DNI to support whistleblowers that report abuse from the top down but stay inside the system. I do not mean mentally defective traitors like Bradley Manning. And definitely not Snowden. Snowden was not a whistle-blower. He was a Russian spy and deserves to face a trial and a date with the executioner if he is ever apprehended. All Snowden did was wrap himself in the flag afterward and the leftist press lapped it up and tried to turn him into a hero.

European Union Orders British Press NOT to Report when Terrorists are Muslims
[Gladstone] According the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) -- part of the Council of Europe -- the British press is to blame for increasing hate speech and racist violence. On October 4, 2016, the ECRI released a report dedicated only to Britain. The report said:

some traditional media, particularly tabloids... are responsible for most of the offensive, discriminatory and provocative terminology. The Sun, for instance, published an article in April 2015 entitled "Rescue boats? I'd use gunships to stop migrants", in which the columnist likened migrants to "cockroaches"...

The Sun newspaper has also published inflammatory anti-Muslim headlines, such as its front page of 23 November 2015 which read "1 in 5 Brit Muslims' sympathy for jihadis", along with a picture of a masked terrorist wielding a knife...

The ECRI report establishes a direct causal link between some tough headlines in British tabloids and the security of the Muslims in the UK. In other words, the British press is allegedly inciting readers to commit "Islamophobic" acts against Muslims.

ECRI considers that, in light of the fact that Muslims are increasingly under the spotlight as a result of recent ISIS-related terrorist acts around the world, fueling prejudice against Muslims shows a reckless disregard, not only for the dignity of the great majority of Muslims in the United Kingdom, but also for their safety.

Huckabee is 'likely' to be Donald Trump's ambassador to Israel
[Quartz] Former Arkansas governor, two-time Republican presidential candidate, and Southern Baptist minister Mike Huckabee is president-elect Donald Trump’s likely pick to be ambassador to Israel, according to the Daily Mail.
Old Jet pictured in the graphic.
However, things don’t appear to be set in stone. A source within Trump’s transition team refuted the rumor to the Independent Journal Review. IJR had initially confirmed the Daily Mail’s report, but has since updated their story with the denial. An earlier version of this story also reported on IJR’s confirmation.

The Mail adds that Huckabee intends to move the US embassy to Jerusalem from its current location in Tel Aviv. "That’s going to happen," the transition official told the Mail. "Governor Huckabee is going to see it through."

The Jerusalem Embassy Act, which first ordered the move in 1995, has been delayed by three successive US presidential administrations, citing security concerns.

The move is deeply symbolic for the incoming Trump administration, as is the naming of Mike Huckabee. It confirms the president-elect’s campaign promises to certain communities concerned over America’s relationship with Israel. Many conservative Christians are so-called "Christian Zionists," who support a Jewish state in Israel insofar as it aligns with certain biblical prophecies regarding the end of days.

Huckabee is a known proponent of Christian Zionism, though his welcome in Israel may not be so warm. Earlier this week the former Arkansas governor came under criticism for blaming some anti-Semitic graffiti at Northwestern University in Illinois on "Jewish liberals."

He has previously asserted that Evangelical Christians are "more supportive of Israel than the American Jewish community."

The Grand Turk
Anger in Turkey at bill to quash child sex convictions for child marriages
[AlAhram] A bill in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
that would overturn men's convictions for child sex assault if they married their victim provoked fury on Friday, with critics accusing the government of encouraging rape of minors with the proposals.

The opposition, celebrities, and even an association whose deputy chairman is the daughter of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
expressed alarm over the move.

But the government insisted the legislation was aimed at dealing with the widespread custom of child marriages and the criticism was a crude distortion of its aim.

The measures were approved in an initial parliamentary reading on Thursday and will be voted on again in a second debate in the coming days.

If passed, the law would allow the release from prison of men guilty of assaulting a minor if the act was committed without "force, threat, or any other restriction on consent" and if the aggressor "marries the victim".

The legal age of consent in Turkey is 18 but child marriage is widespread, especially in the southeast.

Dozens protested the bill in central Istanbul, tearing up copies of the proposed legislation and brandishing slogans like "rape is a crime against humanity".

The bill was brought to parliament by the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP).

"The AKP is pushing through a text which pardons those who marry the child that they raped," said an MP for the opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Ozgur Ozel.

On Twitter, the hashtag #TecavuzMesrulastirilamaz (Rape Cannot be Legitimised) became a top-trending topic as users took to social media to express their anger.

A petition on change.org urging the authorities to block the legislation has received over 600,000 signatures.

The pro-government Women's and Democracy Association (KADEM), whose deputy chairman is Erdogan's younger daughter Sumeyye Erdogan Bayraktar, said one of the biggest problems of the bill would be proving on a legal basis what constituted force or consent.

"How can the 'own will' of such a young girl be identified?" it asked. "We would like to draw attention to issues that might arise in case of it coming into force."

Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said the measure would only be applied once on past convictions, applying to offences committed before November 11, 2016.

"There are people who get married before reaching the legal age. They just don't know the law," he told news hounds in Ankara, adding that the measure aims to "get rid of this injustice".

He said claims that the law would de-facto legalise rape were "completely false", noting that the government had raised penalties for the crime, accusing the CHP of exploiting the issue for political gain.

Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag said marriages involving minors were "unfortunately a reality" in Turkey but the men involved "were not rapists or sexual aggressors."

He said the measure would affect some 3,000 families.

The latest controversy comes after Turkey's constitutional court in July annulled a criminal code provision punishing as "sexual abuse" all sexual acts involving children under the age of 15. Defenders of that law argued it made a distinction between cases of sexual acts involving a young teenager as opposed to a much younger child.

Campaigners accuse the government of not doing enough to stamp out the practice and of being more interested in pushing up the birth rate.

Gauri van Gulik, Amnesia Amnesty International's Deputy Europe Director, said the parliament bill risks sending "the wrong message and could lead to further abuse."

"It is impossible... to guarantee that there was in fact full and informed consent of the girl, not just of her family," she said.

Turkey seeks detention of 103 university academics in Gulen-related probe

It said the investigation was focused on the city's Yildiz Technical University. The Hurriyet newspaper website said 70 academics had been already been detained in simultaneous raids across the city by organised crime police teams.

Draft Agreement Finalized to Link Afghanistan with Black, Mediterranean Sea
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The draft agreement for Lazuli route was finalized between Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
to link Afghanistan with Black and Mediterranean Sea.
Oh, good idea. Pashtuns on the Bosporus.
Didn't we do this about a thousand years ago? Does "Silk Road" ring a bell?
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said the draft agreement was finalized during a meeting at the ministry of transport of Azerbaijan. MoFA further added that the Lazuli route is an initiative of the Afghan government that will link the country to Black Sea and Mediterranean.

According to MoFA, the transit route will bring a considerable reduction in time and cost of transportation besides opening transit route to South Asian Countries to have access to Central Asia, Caucasus, and European countries.

With the finalization of the draft agreement for Lazuli route, the brass hats of the mentioned countries are now able to sign and execute the agreement, MoFA added.

This comes as a railway network was inaugurated in mid-October this year to help connect Afghanistan to European countries and China via Central Asia.

The railway network, Lazuli railway, will link Afghanistan with the European countries and China via Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey. The railway network was inaugurated days after the first ever cargo train from China arrived in the main Hairtan port located in North of Afghanistan, boosting hopes among the Afghan officials to find access to alternative routes for transit.

Gaza man shot dead in protest near border with Israel
[ALMASDARNEWS] Israeli troops shot and killed a 26-year-old Paleostinian during a rock-throwing protest near the Gazoo-Israel border on Friday, a Paleostinian health official said.

An Israeli military spokeswoman said troops had fired shots to disperse Paleostinians trying to breach the Gazoo border fence and authorities were investigating reports that one person had been killed.

The Gazoo health officials said Mohammad Abu Seada was killed by Israeli gunfire and that two others were maimed. Dozens of protesters hurl rocks at Israeli soldiers every Friday along the border with Gazoo.

At least 227 Paleostinians have been killed in violence in the occupied West Bank and the Gazoo Strip since October 2015. Israel says 154 of them were assailants. Others died during festivities and protests.

Paleostinians, many of them acting alone and with rudimentary weapons, have killed at least 33 Israelis and two visiting Americans.

Paleostinian leaders say assailants have acted out of desperation over the collapse of peace talks in 2014 and Israeli settlement expansion in Israeli-occupied territory that Paleostinians seek for an independent state.
The Times of Israel adds:
Also Friday, an Israeli man was lightly maimed when stones were hurled at his vehicle as he drove near the West Bank town of Sinjil, some 20 km from Ramallah.

The man was treated at the scene, Israel Radio reported.

Overnight Thursday, Israeli security forces incarcerated
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
a number of wanted Paleostinians in the West Bank.

At least one of the detainees is suspected of involvement in terrorist activities and violence against civilians and security forces.

One of the suspects, an alleged activist in the Hamas terror group, was detained in the northern West Bank. Another was arrested in the southern West Bank.

All the detainees were taken away by the security forces for questioning.

Obama blocks new oil, gas drilling in Arctic Ocean
There's an executive order that won't last long under President Trump...
The Obama administration is blocking new oil and gas drilling in the Arctic Ocean, handing a victory to environmentalists who say industrial activity in the icy waters will harm whales, walruses and other wildlife and exacerbate global warming, Associated Press reported.

A five-year offshore drilling plan announced on Friday blocks the planned sale of new oil and gas drilling rights in the Chukchi and Beaufort seas north of Alaska. The plan allows drilling to go forward in Alaska's Cook Inlet southwest of Anchorage.

The blueprint for drilling from 2017 to 2022 can be rewritten by President-elect Donald Trump, in a process that could take months or years.
Or days...
Besides Cook Inlet, the plan also allows drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, long the center of U.S. offshore oil production. Ten of the 11 lease sales proposed in the five-year plan are in the Gulf, mostly off the coasts of Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas and Alabama.
Curiously, none near Florida...
Confirming a decision announced this spring, the five-year plan also bars drilling in the Atlantic Ocean.

"The plan focuses lease sales in the best places - those with the highest resource potential, lowest conflict and established infrastructure - and removes regions that are simply not right to lease," said soon to be ex Interior Secretary Sally Jewell.

#1  I don't think there's much industry interest right now anyway: costs - including the long time lag to production (if any) - are not competitive with fracking in developed areas.

#2  Given the new reserves in Texas it is probably noat attractive to expand up there. But Pres Trump should reverse this anyway, just on the principles of the thing.

#3  On Oct. 4, 2016, Dallas-based Caelus Energy LLC announced it has discovered an estimated 6 billion barrels of oil (in Arctic waters) under its current state leaseholds in Smith Bay, an area southeast of Barrow Alaska. The company says the wider Smith Bay area could contain as much as 10 billion barrels of oil.

Smith Bay is located along the coast of the Beaufort Sea 150 miles west of Prudhoe Bay. The Caelus leases are in state waters, north of the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska.
Maximum water depth of the lease is less than 33 feet.
Exploration wells were drilled from ice islands less than 2 miles offshore in water just 4 to 6 feet deep.
Because of the light viscous quality of this oil and the structure of the oil bearing formation, fracking of wells in this area cost substantially less than fracking of similar oil wells in most areas of the lower 48 states.

Caelus chief executive and chairman Jim Musselman described it as the largest oil find in Alaska in more than 40 years, and that the field could begin producing oil in late 2022.
Dubbed the Smith Bay development, Caelus estimates the field could potentially provide 200,000 barrels of oil per day.

It is obvious that President Obama will do everything in his power, during the remaining months of his presidency, to permanently prevent any further development of this gigantic oil discovery.

#4  Junkiron:
1) I never trust what amount to press releases on discoveries.
2) I suspect numerous delineation wells will be needed to confirm the possible size of the discovery.
3) I am not familiar with Caelus, but they will need very deep pockets to develop such a project - probably would have to partner with Exxon or BP.
4) It's in State waters, so should not be subject to most Federal regulations (operative word 'should' - lots of overreach lately.)
5) At only 2 miles offshore, wells could be drilled directionally from onshore pads.
6) Fracking, in the common (mis)understanding of the term, has not been employed in other projects on the North Slope, and would only be needed if the reservoir rock is of poor permeability, in which case it can't compete with West Texas projects due to much higher cost.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Cops: Hooker Wanted Nachos For Sex Act
[THESMOKINGGUN] -An Ohio woman enjugged
Drop the rod and step away witcher hands up!
in a prostitution sting told an undercover cop that her price for oral sex was $50 and a plate of nachos, police say.
That's what I want by golly: a 270 pound hooker with a mole over one eye, at least two facial punctures, and a scowl.
As detailed in a Beaver Police Department report, an officer contacted Crystal Hotlosz, 36, after spotting a Backpage.com ad offering paid companionship. Records show that the 5’ 8", 270-pound Hotlosz frequently advertises her escort services online, describing herself as a "BBW goddess" (big beautiful women) who is "thicker than a snickers."
She looks like she's thicker than I am, and I've got lots of excess avoirdupois to lose.
In reply to the undercover cop’s initial text, Hotlosz quoted an hourly rate of $160. But after some negotiation, she altered her demands and "agreed to a price of $50 and nachos."
She's made a lot of similar bargains. You can tell.
Hotlosz subsequently met the cop Monday night in the parking lot of a Mexican restaurant in Beaver Township, which is about 13 miles south of Youngstown. After entering the undercover vehicle, Hotlosz "asked if I had any extra money and her nachos," the officer reported.
"Extra cash?" Beyond the negotiated price? To make up for the lack of nachos?
After accepting cash--but, alas, no nachos--from the cop, Hotlosz was arrested for solicitation. Police also collared a 41-year-old Youngstown man who had driven Hotlosz to meet with the purported john.
He was her hairdresser. You can see. He was arrested for primping.
Seen above, Hotlosz was booked into the Mahoning County jail, where she remains locked up on $1750 bond.

India's Parrikar's 'no first use' of nuclear weapons statement amounts to nothing: FO
[DAWN] The Foreign Office (FO) during a weekly press briefing in Islamabad on Friday said that Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar's recent 'no first use' statement on India's nuclear doctrine "amounts to nothing", according to a statement shared by the Press Information Department.

FO Spokesman Nafees Zakaria said, "Pakistan believes the ambiguous 'no first use' declaration is not verifiable and amounts to nothing. It can't be a substitute for verifiable arms control and restraint measures proposed by Pakistan's standing offer of Strategic Restraint Regime."

The spokesman said that such a statement by the defence minister of a country that repeatedly and constantly heightens tension with an aggressive posture should be a matter of concern not just for countries of the region but also a threat to global peace and security.

The statement comes as an extraordinary plenary session of the NSG specially convened to discuss India's membership of the bloc concluded without the members reaching any consensus. India has been pushing for NSG membership before the end of 2016.

The NSG is a 48-nation club dedicated to curbing nuclear arms proliferation by controlling the export and re-transfer of materials that could foster nuclear weapons development.

The group's membership has signed the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty but India has refused to do so.

The Latest: Trump University lawsuits settled for $25M
New York’s attorney general says President-elect Donald Trump has agreed to a $25 million settlement to resolve three lawsuits over Trump University, his former school for real estate investors.

The deal announced Friday by Attorney General Eric Schneiderman (New York’s attorney general says President-elect Donald Trump has agreed to a $25 million settlement to resolve three lawsuits over Trump University, his former school for real estate investors. Two more militant outfits banned
[DAWN] The federal government has banned two more militant outfits for their involvement in terrorist activities across the country, it emerged on Friday.

The move to proscribe the Jamaat-ul-Ahrar and Lashkar-i-Jhangvi Al-Alami came after recent attacks on sectarian grounds in different parts of the country were claimed by the two groups, said a senior official on Friday.

A spokesman for the interior ministry confirmed the development and said that the decision was made only a few days ago.

Referring to a revised list of banned organisations available on the website of the National Counter Terrorism Authority (Nacta), a senior official in Sindh’s security establishment said: “The two organisations were added to the banned outfits’ list on Nov 11.”

The updated list on Nacta website shows a total of 63 outfits that have been proscribed by the federal government.

“The latest addition came after series of investigations led to the fact that the two militant groups were actively involved in the terrorism activities mostly on sectarian grounds. Karachi has also witnessed a recent surge in attacks on sectarian grounds executed mostly by the Lashkar-i-Jhangvi Al Alami.”

The federal government took the final decision after feedback from different security, intelligence, investigation and law enforcement agencies and the same was forwarded by the Sindh police and its Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) mainly after the Oct 29 killing of five persons, including three brothers, outside a Nazimabad house where a Muharram majlis for women was in progress.

“Similarly, if you go through the recent history of the Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, they claimed the attack on the Civil Hospital Quetta that killed more than 70 people, including many lawyers,” the official said. “One of the curious things you would find in their jobs is that they are mostly active in the southern part of the country, posing a fresh challenge to the law enforcement agencies of Balochistan and Sindh.”

“So behind that decision, most feedback and inputs were given by the agencies of the two provinces which were hit the hardest by the activities of the two groups. I don’t think it would affect them but it would obviously help investigators and intelligence agencies to move against them proactively.”

In Anantnag, police arrested Hurriyat leader Mir Hafizullah for leading a pro-freedom rally in Hakura village near Dialgam.

Mr Hafizullah, who organised hundreds of rallies during the ongoing uprising, was evading arrest for a long time despite numerous raids by police at his home.

In one of such raids, his brother was also arrested.

A police official said that Mr Hafizullah was wanted in 25 cases.

President-elect Donald Trump to Iraqi PM: you will find strong and deep support
[RUDAW.NET] The Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi and the US president-elect Donald Trump spoke on the phone Friday for the first time since Mr Trump was elected to the office earlier this month. The American leader told Abadi that Iraq “will find strong and deep support” from the United States under his presidency.

“You are essential partners to us and you will find strong and deep support.” Mr Trump told the Iraqi PM, according to a statement from the Iraqi PM’s office.

Mr Abadi congratulated Mr Trump on winning the US presidential elections, and “expressed Iraq's willingness to expand the scope of relations between the two countries.”

Both sides also discussed the ongoing war against the so-called Islamic State, and the offensive to retake the Iraq’s second-largest city of Mosul.

“Mr. Trump also extended an invitation to Dr. Al-Abadi to visit the United States and meet with Mr. Trump soon after the inauguration ceremonies next January.” the statement added.

Iraqi government spokesman Saad al-Hadithi told Rudaw soon after the results for the US election came out that Mr Trump’s victory will not impact or change its bilateral relations with the United States, including the war against terror.

“The Iraqi-American strategic agreement, including the economy and war on terror are all mutual files between the two countries and these ties will remain as they are and will not change anything between Iraq and the United States,”

Al-Hadithi said, “There are common interests and mutual relations between Iraq and America and I don’t expect any of this to change with Trump’s victory,”

Al-Hadithi whose government has a strategic security agreement with the US said that the election of Trump is only a change in names.

“For the past eight years the democrats have been in power in the United States and today the republicans have won, but this is only the change of people and names and not policy,” he argued. “Politics will stay as they are now.”

Fear of ISIS human shield in Mosul drives civilians out of their homes
[RUDAW.NET] Around 200 people fleeing from the war-torn city of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
were forced to stay overnight at the makeshift camp of Omar Qamchi on Friday, 12 km southeast of cit, waiting to be moved to official camps.

This comes at a time where tens of thousands of civilians has fled the ongoing war in Mosul as the US-backed Iraqi offensive to retake the city from the so-called Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
enters its second month.

Most of the families fled on Thursday, but for some the short journey took them more than a week, moving only under the cover at night.

A fleeing family said they fled their village, 3 km away from Mosul, when the holy warrior group threatened to take them to Mosul city to be used as human shield.

ISIS had taken an estimated 1,600 civilians to Mosul to shield themselves from Arclight airstrikes, the office of the UN’s High Commissioner for Human Rights reported two weeks ago.

#1  Civilians fleeing is actually a good thing. More elbow room for actual ops. Maybe recruit a few as guides. And reduces the ability of ISIS to hide by reducing the size of the "pool" they are in.

President Obama Blames the Internet for the Rise of Trump – Technology Needs
[WattsUpWithThat] Obama and Angela Merkel Blame Internet and Social Media for Disrupting Globalism

President Barack Obama and German Chancellor Angela Merkel are blaming the internet for disrupting the forces of globalism, suggesting that technology is making it more difficult to unite people behind a common purpose.

"Because of the internet and communications, the clash of cultures is much more direct," Obama said during a press conference on his trip to Berlin. "People feel, I think, less certain about their identity. Less certain about economic security."

Obama predicted that the rise of technology needed to be managed to give world citizens more control, beyond the simplistic answers found online.

His German counterpart agreed.

"Digitization is a disruptive force, a disruptive technological force that brings about deep-seated change, transformation of a society," Merkel added.

She compared the internet to the invention of the printing press, citing the consequences it had on industrialized countries.

"It took a while until societies learned how to find the right kind of policies to contain this and to manage and steer this," she said.
I guess this may have come a little too late for some tastes?

Monica Petersen: Investigating Clinton Human Trafficking in Haiti Found Dead
Imagine that. Monica Petersen, a woman who was investigating Clinton Foundation trafficking has turned out dead, for no reason. This seems to happen a lot of people who are either investigating or release damning information on the Clinton Crime Family and the foundation. Remember Seth Rich and Wikileaks?

It has been reported on Reddit that Monica Petersen, working for the Human Trafficking Center, was in Haiti investigating possible human trafficking connections to the Clinton Foundation.

Peterson previously worked for the Colorado Human Trafficking Council’s Data & Research Task Force. Early in 2016, a friend shared her blog post which was critical of Hillary Clinton’s shady dealings in Haiti.

As we know, Hillary has ties to convicted sex offender and child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. In addition, Hillary was involved in the NGO run by Laura Silsby, the former director of the The New Life Children’s Refuge. She was caught attempting to steal and smuggle 33 children from Haiti, most of whom weren’t even orphans at the time:

RAB interested to grill nabbed militants
[Dhaka Tribune] Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) expressed its interest to interrogate the five alleged New JMB Lions of Islam who were reportedly tossed in the clink
Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please!
by the elite crime busting unit on Wednesday night from different parts of the capital.

A 40-year-old Islamic spiritual leader and a 27-year-old explosives expert were among the group detained in a series of raids in the capital late Wednesday and early Thursday.

Abul Kalam Azad, director of intelligence wing of RAB on Friday told the Dhaka Tribune that they would seek permission from the Home Ministry to investigate the case, confirming the common knowledge that the RAB and police are evidently not on the best of terms.

Azad said: "Usually, after a case is field, the police take charge of the investigation. But as we are working on controlling militancy since the agency’s inception, we want to investigate the whole issue."

Earlier on Wednesday night, a team of the elite force detained Maulana Abdul Hakim Faridi alias Sufian, 40, Rajibul Islam alias Ahmed, 29, Gazi Kamrus Salam Sohan alias Abu Abdullah, 27, Md Sohel Rana alias Khadem alias Moazzin alias Shahidullah, 23, and Sheikh Md Abu Saleh alias Liton alias Huraira, 42, from Airport Railway Station and Adabar areas in the capital.

"They belonged to Sarwar-Tamim group of the Jamayetul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB)," RAB said in a statement, referring to the myrmidon group the government has blamed for the July attack.

"As the arrestees played a very important role for New JMB, we need to know about their other activities and accomplices," Azad added.

It is mentionable that there have been a few instances in the recent past that indicate a rift within these two forces, and expression of RAB’s interest to interfere into police responsibility clearly shows that the rift is widening.

Lavrov and Kerry discuss situation around Eastern Aleppo
This lame duck tour is at least keeping soon to be former Secretary of State John Kerry out from underfoot during the transition.
[ALMASDARNEWS] Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State John F. I was in Vietnam, you know Kerry

"Following Thursday’s talks on the sidelines of the APEC forum in Lima, Peru, the two top diplomats continued the discussion of the Syrian settlement problems with a focus on the situation around Eastern Aleppo," the ministry said.

According to the ministry, the telephone conversation was initiated by the US side.

The situation in Syria was in focus of Lavrov’s meeting with Kerry in Lima.

"These contacts produce results, but everything is stalled by the same problem that once prevented the Americans from fulfilling our bilateral agreements - (the problem of) separating the so-called moderate opposition from al-Nusra

"There is mounting evidence, and we cannot escape this impression that the dominating decision is to preserve al-Nusra as the strongest force that opposes (Syrian President Bashar) Assad, regardless of the fact that it was put on all terrorist lists in the United States, Russia and the United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
," Lavrov said.

"At the same time, we would try to find some solutions to this situation. It appears to me that John Kerry is truly interested in it," the minister added.

Turkey reopens Syrian border gate after intra-rebels fighting
Turkey reopened an important border gate with Syria on Nov. 17, two days after an outbreak of fighting across the frontier between two fractions of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) rebels that are fighting the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in northern Syria as part of the Euphrates Shield Operation.

The Öncüpınar crossing point in the southeastern province of Kilis has reopened, Kilis Governor İsmail Çataklı told state-run Anadolu Agency.

On Nov. 14 Turkey temporarily closed the gate but Çataklı said on Nov. 17 that the situation on the Syrian side had returned to normal.

The crossing, which is a major point for traffic between Turkey and opposition-held areas of northern Syria, lies around six kilometers (four miles) from the Syrian town of Azaz, which is controlled by Turkey-backed opposition groups.

Teen paralysed due to alleged torture by teacher in Larkana
[DAWN] A student of eight grade at a private cadet college in Larkana reportedly lost his consciousness and was paralysed after he was allegedly beaten up by his teacher, it has been learnt.

The school teacher meted out a harsh physical punishment on the student for unknown reason at the cadet college in Larkana district of Sindh, DawnNews reported on Friday.

Ahmad Hussain, who had scored 95 per cent in recent exam, was so harshly beaten that he lost his consciousness and was paralysed due to an injury to the head while his other body parts were also swollen, his father told DawnNews.

The teen cannot speak or walk on his own and treatment in a private hospital in Karachi has been futile.

Murad Ali Shah takes notice of the incident
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took notice of the alleged torture of the teenager reportedly by his teacher and announced that Sindh government will finance the treatment of the boy.

Shah directed the minister for health to visit the boy and see if there aren't enough facilities available for his treatment in Pakistan then make arrangements for his treatment in United States.

Robot Goes Rogue at Shenzhen Fair, Injures Bystander
[SIXTHTONE] A robot went out of control at a technology fair in southern China’s Guangdong province Thursday, smashing a glass window and injuring a visitor.

The aggressor was Fabo, an education and entertainment robot for children. A human error was responsible for the mishap: The person operating Fabo hit the "forward" button instead of "reverse," according to one of the fair’s organizers.

This command sent Fabo off in the direction of a neighboring exhibition booth that was made from glass. The robot rammed into the booth and shattered the glass, the splinters from which injured the ankles of a visitor to the exhibition.

Details about the injured visitor were not immediately available, but images circulating on the internet on Friday show what appears to be a middle-aged man lying on a stretcher. After receiving emergency care on-site, the patient was sent to the nearby Peking University Shenzhen Hospital by ambulance and was discharged after receiving stitches.

The incident took place at the China Hi-Tech Fair 2016 in Shenzhen, the boomtown that is now a major hub for tech startups. The fair, hosted by the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center (SCEC) for six days through Nov. 21, has attracted more than 3,000 exhibitors and aims to showcase some of the world’s most advanced technologies.

SCEC told Sixth Tone that the accident took place on Thursday afternoon and was caused by the human error of a staffer from Shenzhen Spreadview Century Technologies Co., one of the fair’s exhibitors.

Shenzhen Spreadview Century produces mini projectors, which it supplies to Beijing Evolver Robotics Technology Co., Ltd., the manufacturer of Fabo. The robot comes in two models: One is designed to serve as an education or entertainment tool for children, while the other is used for commercial purposes such as advertising. The robot costs close to 13,000 yuan ($1,900), according to the company’s website.

The CTD launched the operation on Thursday night and killed Satti whereas another militant identified as Imran Satti managed to flee. A search operation has been launched to trace the fleeing militant. Two personnel of the CTD squad were also injured in the operation.

The CTD said the militants were planning to carry out terrorist attacks in Rawalpindi, Islamabad and other areas.

According to sources, the terrorists had been living in the remote village for three years and were planning to attack media houses and other installations.

PYD will withdraw, Turkish PM says
Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım has stressed that Ankara expects the fulfillment of the withdrawal of the Syrian Democratic Union Party (PYD) from Manbij, as recently reiterated by the United States.

“In every meeting, they say they are behind this agreement and will do what is necessary. We are still waiting for this. [The PYD] will withdraw, one way or another,” Yıldırım said.

On Nov. 16, both the U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIL, Brett McGurk, and the Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), the military wing of the PYD, said they will withdraw from northern Syrian town of Manbij toward the east of the Euphrates River, as Turkey has long demanded, after their duty in the area is finalized.

The YPG said it would withdraw from Manbij and join the operation to liberate Raqqa, ISIL’s de facto capital, from the jihadists.

However, Turkish security sources told daily Hürriyet on Nov. 17 that the U.S.’s remarks on the YPG’s withdrawal from Manbij were “not true.”

Sources claimed the YPG was still located in Manbij, with some being permanently being located across the town. Turkey has shelled PYD targets in the region, sources said.

State-run Anadolu Agency reported on Nov. 17 that the YPG, launching an offensive from Manbij, had taken control of eight villages on the road to al-Bab. Meanwhile, the YPG released photos showing a convoy of vehicles leaving Manbij on Nov. 18, Doğan News Agency reported.

US, Russia also have some thoughts on Al-Bab: Turkey

In addition, Turkey, which had set liberating Syrian town of Al-Bab from extremist jihadists as a priority target, said Washington and Moscow “also had thoughts” on the key town and underlined they were in communication with both countries on the issue.

“Not only Turkey, but both the U.S. and Russia also have some thoughts on Al-Bab. We are in efforts to handle it on the table and through communication,” Defense Minister Fikri Işık told reporters on Nov. 18.

Işık stated that the Turkish intelligence agency and military had been in close coordination with their American and Russian counterparts on developments in the field.

“There are different interest groups. Turkey is taking steps to protect its own and regional interests and to increase its security to a maximum level,” he said.

Turkey and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) have declared liberating Al-Bab from ISIL as their next target and started to advance toward the strategic town last week. However, Turkey’s plans to advance toward Al-Bab are not being supported by the U.S.-led anti-ISIL coalition air strikes because it was “independently” launched by Turkey, said U.S. Colonel John Dorrian, a spokesman for the coalition fighting the jihadist group in Syria and Iraq on Nov 17.

“That’s a national decision that they have made,” Dorrian said.

Over the last three days, Turkish warplanes have not carried out airstrikes over Syria in support of the FSA, sources told daily Hürriyet, saying the Syrian regime had plans to launch an offensive and take Al-Bab itself. The Syrian regime therefore renewed its airspace violation threat to Turkey, with the consent of Russia, sources added.

Işık, however, claimed there was “no problem.”

“There was a Russian measure on this in the past. But it has been removed now. Necessary aerial support is being given,” he said.

Illinois 'yout' gets 3 years for bid to join Islamic State
Mohammed Hamzah Khan had just been sentenced to a little more than three years in prison Friday for trying to fly overseas to join the Islamic State terrorism group when the judge told him to pay close attention to the way he'd just been treated under U.S. law.

Though Khan had faced up to 15 years behind bars, he'd instead been given a remarkable second chance, U.S. District Judge John Tharp said. He was afforded his right to counsel, his family and friends were allowed to support him in court and federal authorities had agreed to provide resources for years to come to get his life back on track.

It was the opposite of what he would have faced under Islamic State's brand of justice, Tharp said.

Eviction of illegal occupants from historical mosque land ordered
[DAWN] SUKKUR: Sukkur Commissioner Mohammed Abbas Baloch on Friday asked took the Sukkur deputy commissioner and Rohri assistant commissioner to take necessary action leading to the retrieval of the portions of historical Mohammed Bin Qasim Mosque encroached upon by certain people.

The commissioner chaired a meeting of the officials concerned in his office on Friday to discuss a communication sent by the Tanzeem Fikr-o-Nazar — an organisation of volunteers that looks after the historical site — to the president, prime minister, Sindh chief minister and chief secretary drawing attention to the encroachment of the mosque’s land in Arrore village of Rohri taluka.

The communication says that certain influential people have built houses and shops and installed flour grinding machines after grabbing portions of the mosque’s lands.

Trump set to take sharp right turn on immigration
[WASHINGTONEXAMINER] If personnel is policy, this week in President-elect Trump's transition has been better for immigration hawks than foreign-policy doves.

While the names being floated for key national security positions don't represent the anticipated departure from George W. Bush's foreign policy, Trump's team does appear to be considering appointments that would break sharply with the last Republican president on immigration.

Trump's team sent a signal Thursday that Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., was being considered for attorney general. "While nothing has been finalized and he is still talking with others as he forms his cabinet, the President-elect has been unbelievably impressed with Senator Sessions and his phenomenal record as Alabama's Attorney General and U.S. Attorney," the statement said. "It is no wonder the people of Alabama re-elected him without opposition."

#1  Good. I just watched a piece on Fox where Pete Hegseth interviewed people at random on the street in Little Mogadishu in Minneapolis. Not a one of the several people spoke English. The report also mentioned that Sharia Law was being taught in the schools in the area and that the area is a hotbed for recruiting of jihadists. The report also stated that people in this area feel alienated. Why the hell wouldn't they? They don't learn our language, culture, or laws. I wonder if they have been instructed on how to vote Democrat?

Same goes for illegals. Secure the border and then put in a Bracero program like was supposed to happened for temporary guest workers under Reagan.

Car bomb injures five in southern Thailand
[Bangkok Post] Five people were wounded by a car bomb explosion, which was followed by a fire, in Pattani province on Thursday evening.

Yaring district duty officer Pawich Krachangsri said that witnesses told police a man drove a car to a store in front of Wat Piyaram and parked it by a coin-operated fuel vending machine. The man pretended to be shopping at the store for a short time, and was then picked up by another vehicle. The parked car exploded shortly afterwards, which started a fire that gutted the store. Three men and two women were wounded in the blast.

Earlier in the evening in Nong Chik district, a hand grenade was hurled into a grocery shop outside the wall of Wat Mujalintawapeeviharn. The grenade did not explode. Police called to the scene said it was an M26.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
New York Attorney General Joins Sharpton Lieutenant to Launch Anti-Hate Program
[OBSERVER] New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and the National Action Network
...a not-for-profit, civil rights organization founded by the Al Sharpton in New York City in early 1991. In a 2016 profile, Vanity Fair has called Sharpton arguably the country's most influential civil rights leader. Big Al owes millions in unpaid taxes, purported to believe Tawana Brawley was kidnapped and raped by white racists including the DA (who sued him, won, and never got paid), incited a riot at Crazy Eddie's, and sees a klansman behind every bush...
’s Kirsten Foy joined together with civil rights leaders to kick off an effort to counter hate crimes in the wake of President-elect Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
’s victory last week.

The attorney general announced he had issued a bulletin to law enforcement agencies and district attorney’s offices statewide that identifies hate crimes statutes and emphasizes the need for law enforcement to properly identify incidents as possible hate crimes right away. The NYPD has seen a 31 percent increase in hate crimes in the past year--during Trump’s incendiary anti-immigration campaign--particularly against Moslems and Jews, according to Schneiderman.

"We stand ready to commit whatever resources we can to ensure equality as we prepare for a possible uptick in hate crimes or other violations of New Yorkers’ civil rights," Schneiderman said at a presser in his Manhattan office. "And I would urge you that we are very committed to doing this in solidarity, both with the activists and those who are on the front lines and have confidence and access to vulnerable communities who are often afraid to come forward and speak to law enforcement."

The bulletin focuses on hate crimes against immigrants colonists, religious minorities, ethnic and racial minorities, women, LGBTQ New Yorkers and other vulnerable communities.

Earlier today, he held a roundtable discussion in the city with immigrant community leaders and advocates to discuss concerns about the rise in hate crimes, harassment and rhetoric targeting immigrant communities.

At the presser promoted as an effort to "stand up to hate," Schneiderman was flanked by the heads and representatives of the New York Civil Liberties Union, the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York, the Anti-Defamation League, the Islamic Center at New York University, 32BJ SEIU, the New York Board of Rabbis and the NAACP New York State Conference.

In an interview with 60 Minutes Sunday, the president-elect said he plans to deport or incarcerate up to 3 million undocumented immigrants colonists who he said are "criminal and have criminal records, gang members, drug pushers." He also said he plans to institute aggressive stop-and-frisk policing as a national policy and announced a ban on Middle Eastern immigration to the United States and the establishment of a Moslem registry.

Europe migrant colonist briefs
German teen accused of copy editing ISIS propaganda

[Ynet] Federal German prosecutors have charged an 18-year-old with supporting a terrorist organization by translating Islamic State propaganda and correcting errors in texts the group posted online. Prosecutors said Friday Mikail S., a German citizen whose last name wasn't disclosed in line with privacy laws, faces nine counts of supporting the Islamic State group on allegations he'd been in contact with the extremist organization's propaganda operations since mid-2016.

S. is alleged to have contacted the group, offering to translate English, German and Turkish texts and correct linguistic errors. After being taken up on his offer, he delivered over the period of about a month beginning at the start of June one translation and eight corrected texts which ended up on the internet. The suspect has been in custody since July 14.

UN refugee agency concerned by attacks on Greek migrant camp

[Ynet] The United Nations refugee agency is expressing concern over attacks on a migrant camp on the Aegean island of Chios, and wants Greek authorities to increase security at the site. The UNHCR said Friday petrol bombs and stones damaged tents and shelters at the camp holding 2,300 people, in the island capital of Chios. Thursday's attacks followed overnight clashes between camp residents, police and islanders.

Police are investigating the attacks.

2 Syrians in Germany face terrorism charges

[Ynet] German prosecutors have charged two Syrian men with membership in a terrorist organization on allegations they fought with the ultraconservative Ahrar al-Sham group in Syria. Prosecutors said Friday that 24-year-old Kamel T.H.J. and 22-year-old Azad R. fought with al-Sham against other rebel groups and Syrian government troops in the Aleppo area at least from August 2013 until April 2014, when Azad R. was injured.

They both then traveled to Turkey and in 2015 to Germany for him to receive medical help. Both suspects were arrested in April and have been in custody since then.

Spain: Woman who sought to join ISIS gets 5 years

[Ynet] A Spanish court has given a reduced five-year prison sentence to a Moroccan woman who confessed to having tried to join ISIS. The National Court convicted Samira Yerou, 33, of membership of a terrorist organization and said Friday that the sentence was not as high as it could have been in light of her confession and stated repentance.

Yerou was arrested in July, 2015 after being deported from Turkey where she had gone with her then 3-year-old son to try to illegally enter Syria and join ISIS. During the trial this month, Yerou, who has Spanish residency, claimed she had been fooled into thinking life would be better in Syria. She said she had been going through a bad period after her husband had left.

Firebombs thrown against migrants on Greek island

[AlAhram] Unknown assailants early Friday threw firebombs into a migrant camp on the Greek island of Chios, and beat up two volunteers, the state Athens News Agency said. According to the agency, two tents at the Souda camp were destroyed and around 150 panic-stricken residents including women and children were forced to flee to safety.

A group of 30 assailants subsequently beat up two volunteers helping at the camp, ANA said.

Police did not immediately confirm the incident but a local official speaking on condition on anonymity said the island was "seething" over the presence of some 4,000 refugees and migrants. This official also noted that lawmakers from the Greek neo-Nazi party Golden Dawn had visited Chios just days earlier.

"We cannot exclude that far-right groups are seeking to exploit local anger," the official told AFP.

Tempers had also flared the previous evening after groups of migrants broke into a spirits merchant and stole fireworks from another shop. According to police, they then set the fireworks off, targeting local homes and cars. Three Algerian teenagers and an Iraqi in his forties were arrested over the incident.

According to Greek media, Thursday's attack was a reprisal. The assailants climbed atop a medieval fort overlooking the camp and threw heavy rocks on the tents below.

The situation on Chios is similar on other eastern Greek isles sheltering over 16,000 migrants and refugees who are unable to continue their journey to north and western Europe. The island camps have a nominal capacity of fewer than 7,500 people.

New weapons cache uncovered outside Paris
Possibly the cache was merely intended for native French or Eastern European gangsters instead of Moslem colonists, but it's interesting to know what those gun-controlling Europeans can get their hands on when they want.
[AlAhram] French investigators announced Friday the discovery of a weapons cache in a Paris suburb, including grenade launchers, a rocket launcher, bulletproof vests, guns and ammunition.

The arsenal was discovered early Friday in Evry, in an unlocked private parking garage inside a shopping centre near a commuter rail station, a source at the public prosecutor's office said.

"Nothing in this discovery leads us to believe there is a link to terrorism," the source added.

Last year's terrorist attacks in Paris, in which 130 people were killed, were carried out with weapons manufactured in Serbia.

France and Serbia last month launched a joint effort to crack down on arms smuggling from the Balkans region, which is still awash in weapons from its wars in the 1990s.

The prosecutors' office described the seized items as: one rocket launcher, bulletproof vests, Mauser (pistols), Kalashnikov cartridges and two grenade launchers".

An inquiry has been opened involving the judicial police as well as a special interregional unit focussed on organised crime.

The overall numbers obscure the fact that one state gave Clinton her edge: Populous California.
Clinton popular vote lead overall: At least 1.23 million.
Clinton popular vote lead in California alone: At least 3.1 million.

Top 10 Reasons George Soros Is Dangerous
Numbers one through three can be seen at the link.
[HUMANEVENTS] 4. Media Matters: Soros is a financial backer of Media Matters for America, a progressive media watchdog group that hyperventilates over any conservative view that makes it into the mainstream media. Now its founder, David Brock, has openly declared war on Fox News, telling Politico that the group was mounting "guerrilla warfare and sabotage" against the cable news channel, and would try to disrupt the commercial interests of owner Rupert Murdoch--an odd mission for a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt educational foundation that is barred from participating in partisan political activity.

5. MoveOn.org
...a Democratic Party front organization funded by George Soros founded in the wake of the Clinton impeachment. It provides money, muscle, and astroturf as required...
: Soros has been a major funder of MoveOn.org, a progressive advocacy group and political action committee that raises millions for liberal candidates. This is the group that had on its website an ad comparing President George W. Bush to Adolf Hitler
...late Fuehrer of Germany, founder of the Third Reich, currently communing with his pals Himmler and Heydrich. He is reincarnated every few days as a politician somebody doesn't like...
and ran the infamous "General Betray Us" ad in the New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...
, disparaging the integrity of Gen. David Petraeus.

6. Center for American Progress: Headed by John Podesta, White House chief of staff under President Clinton, the Center for American Progress has been instrumental in providing progressive talking points and policy positions for the B.O. regime. There has also been a revolving door between the White House and the Soros-funded think tank, with Obama staffing his administration with many CAP officials.

7. Environmental extremism: Former Obama green jobs czar Van Jones and his leftist environmental ideas have been funded by Soros’ money at these groups: the Ella Baker Center, Green For All, the Center for American Progress, and the Apollo Alliance, which was instrumental in getting $110 billion in green initiatives included in Obama’s stimulus package. Soros also funds the Climate Policy Initiative to address global warming and gave Friends of the Earth money to "integrate a climate equity perspective in the presidential transition."

8. America Coming Together: Soros gave nearly $20 million to this 527 group with the express purpose of defeating President Bush. A massive get-out-the-vote effort, ACT’s door-to-door canvassing teams included numerous felons, its voter registration drives were riddled with fraud, and it handed out incendiary fliers and made misleading taped phone calls to voters. ACT was fined $775,000 by the Federal Election Commission for violations of various federal campaign finance laws.

9. Currency manipulation: A large part of Soros’ multibillion-dollar fortune has come from manipulating currencies. During the 1997 Asian financial crisis, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir bin Mohamad accused him of bringing down the nation’s currency through his trading activities, and in Thailand he was called an "economic war criminal." Known as "The Man who Broke the Bank of England," Soros initiated a British financial crisis by dumping 10 billion sterling, forcing the devaluation of the currency and gaining a billion-dollar profit.

10. Delusions: Soros has repeatedly said that he sees himself as a messianic figure. Who but a megalomaniac would make these comments? "I admit that I have always harbored an exaggerated view of my self-importance--to put it bluntly, I fancied myself as some kind of god" or "I carried some rather potent messianic fantasies with me from childhood, which I felt I had to control, otherwise I might end up in the loony bin." If only the loony bin were an option. As it is, one of the wealthiest men in the world is using his billions to impose a radical agenda on America

This Week in Guns, November 19th, 2016

By Chris Covert
Rantburg.com

Three tales of reactions to the election of Donald J. Trump from Leftists/Liberals:

The first is Gary Perl, a retired New York City teacher and aspiring writer who suggested that "Trump Nazis" would invade the homes of "people of color." His suggestion was for the various racial communities to "arm yourselves legally." His post was linked to in the Jews for the Preservation of Firearms ownership facebook page. His statement was noticed by John Comeau, who criticized reactions by gun owners, and posted those remarks on the Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership Facebook page. The change of view which had Perl considering a firearm purchase, said Comeau, should have been welcomed instead of criticized.

Perl posted a comment on the JFPFO Facebook page which said: "Now that Adolph Hitler part 2 is our president and because he advocates violence and is supported by alt-right Nazis, I intend o take advantage of my second amendment rights for the first time in my life. Sorry assholes but if any Trumpenschtuppen darkens my door to do me or mine harm, there will be there blood before mine."

The comment can be seen as a definitive threat, but from a man living in a state which would likely bar his foray into firearms ownership. It is hard to embrace a change of heart about owning a gun when the individual changing calls members of a group "assholes."

What I read into the reaction was that the man was criticized for not knowing that he could not acquire a semiautomatic for self defense in New York state; such weapons are banned by New York state law.

There are other outlets for at least learning about firearms that I recommend to anyone in New York. But you simply can't own the firearms you want to know about without moving from New York state.

Even so, my best prediction is that Gidon Cherev would run him him off their training grounds the moment he started to shoot his mouth off.

But, it's just a guess.

The second is freelance gun writer and National Rifle Association (NRA) member Jorge Amselle, who revealed in an interview last May that he supported Hillary Clinton for president. His reasoning, according to the linked article, was that since the two terms of Barak Obama had not been too bad for gun rights, voting for Clinton would be the same as voting for Obama. Which is true, and has been stated very clearly by the Clinton campaign.

The story came up when Jorge Amselle was mentioned in an article by another writer, David Fortier, who wrote about encountering Amselle at AR15.com. (Link to AR15.com is hosed. Sorry.) War on Guns writer David Cordea mentioned Amselle in an article entitled "The Enemy Within." Cordrea said in other articles that a number of firearm trainers support Amselle, which is not surprising at all.

The writer of the article for The Truth About Guns, John Boch, commented that the numerous gun publications which have used his services in the past will likely cease now that Amselle's sympathies are so well known. Given the sensibilities of his supporters within the firearms trainer community, you gotta wonder.

Last is the most humorous, and the most pathetic.

A Rutgers Gender Studies professor, Kevin Allred, said in a Twitter post "Will the 2nd amendment be as cool when I buy a gun and start shooting at random white people or no…?”. After being taken to Bellevue Hospital for an evaluation by the New York City Police department, he was instructed to remove the tweet, which he did, but not without offering an explanation:

"i said: would conservatives care as much abt the 2nd amendment if guns killed more white people? a question meant to expose double standard."

Another tweet he posted following the incident:

“I’m being labeled a threat and put in a psych hospital. Trump’s crackdown on free speech has absolutely begun.”

"Trumps crackdown on free speech" has not been very effective so far, it would appear.

Loads.

Prices for used pistols were higher across the board. Prices for used rifles were mixed.

#2  Stocking Stuffers. Mine came in Monday before the general election.

So now that these tyrants and petty womenmen (apologies to the ladies, no slight intended) effectively outlawed what they are needing to discourage what they perceive as a potential over-reaching government.

Here is my problem with Gay Perl. He knows as much about firearms as I know about skinny jeans. You want a firearm to defend yourself. God bless you, welcome to the America you all have been trying to destroy. If you have the moral fortitude to take 30 minutes of jabs and ridicule from your new instructors of an institution they spent their entire lives learning and you spent your entire life trying to destroy, admit you are wrong, know nothing about the topic, and responsibility the fuck up. Realize you know nothing about this, realize you probably don't know anything much about anything else than poking a keyboard and sipping whine.

Trump ‘landing parties’ descend on Justice, State, Defense departments
[WASHINGTONTIMES] President-elect Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
’s transition team got down to nuts and bolts Thursday, deploying "landing parties" to federal agencies responsible for national security and reportedly having offered the next administration’s first big appointment.

Visits to the National Security Council and departments of Defense, Justice and State to lay groundwork for the handover in January marked a rapid acceleration in activity by the transition team, which has been criticized for the slow pace of progress in the first week after the election.

The News Agency that Dare Not be Named, citing "a senior Trump official" speaking on the condition of anonymity, reported that Mr. Trump had offered the post of White House national security adviser to retired Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn, a former Defense Intelligence Agency chief. It was not clear Thursday evening whether Gen. Flynn, who was an early supporter of Mr. Trump and spoke on his behalf at the Republican National Convention, had accepted the offer.

Mr. Trump held scores of interviews at Trump Tower in New York with prospective Cabinet members and advisers, and met with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Vice President-elect Mike Pence met with leaders of both parties on Capitol Hill.

After what he called a "very candid" meeting, Mr. Abe told news hounds in New York that he had "great confidence" in the president-elect.

"I will be able to establish a relationship of trust," said Mr. Abe, the first foreign leader to meet Mr. Trump face to face since his stunning election victory over Hillary Clinton
... former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, sometimes described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as a crook...
. "I conveyed my view on basic issues. I’d like to refrain from touching on details."

Europe
Turkish Asylum Requests in Germany More than Double this Year
[AnNahar] More than 4,400 Turkish citizens have applied for asylum in Germany this year, the government said Friday, with numbers up since a failed coup attempt against President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Among them are several Turkish military officers stationed at German's Ramstein NATO air base, national news agency DPA has reported.

Berlin-Ankara relations have been badly strained by concerns over the Erdogan government's stance on civil rights, especially its sweeping crackdown against opposition lawmakers, journalists and other critical voices in the wake of the July coup attempt.

On Friday, Germany's Office for Migration and Refugees said that this year it had received 4,437 political asylum requests to the end of October from Turks, compared to 1,767 during all of last year.

Numbers had steadily ticked up from 275 in July to 485 in October, it said, cautioning however that the rise could not be tied directly to the coup attempt, given the long time lags for asylum applications.

German conservative lawmaker Stephan Mayer, who sits on parliament's interior affairs committee, said "we must presume that the number of Turks who will request political asylum in Germany will rise further".

He was critical of the foreign ministry for openly stating recently that Germany was open to granting refuge to Turkish citizens who need it.

- 'Get rid of the opposition' -
Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier had said last week Berlin wants to "help persecuted scientists, cultural workers, journalists, who can no longer work in Turkey come to Germany to work".

But Mayer, a member of the conservative Bavarian CSU party, told the Funke media group: "We don't solve Turkey's problems by inviting all citizens who are critical of the regime to request asylum here."

"That's not a favour we should do for President Erdogan. Because that's exactly what he wants -- to get rid of the opposition."

Developments in Turkey have a strong resonance in Germany, home to a three-million-strong ethnic Turkish population, the legacy of a massive "guest worker" programme in the 1960s and 70s.

Turkish NATO Officers Ask for Asylum

[AnNahar] A number of Turkish officers posted to NATO have asked for asylum in the member state countries in which they are serving, alliance chief Jens Stoltenberg said Friday.

"It is right that some Turkish officers working in NATO command structure, some of them have requested asylum in the countries where they are working," Stoltenberg said in Brussels when asked about the issue.

UN Kangaroo Court Implodes Amid Threat to Prosecute U.S. Troops
[TheNewAmerican] Even as it threatens to illegally prosecute American soldiers, the dictator-dominated United Nations judicial body known as the "International Criminal Court" is imploding spectacularly on the world stage. With the withdrawal of the Russian government this week and South African authorities last month -- not to mention the fact that the U.S. government never joined in the first place -- the ICC appears to be on its deathbed. Other African and Asian governments are also preparing to exit the outfit. The establishment and various globalists are outraged, of course. But for humanity and the cause of true justice, the dictatorship-infested ICC's collapse is great news, as anyone familiar with the UN kangaroo court and its operation can attest.

On November 14, the Hague-based ICC, perhaps hoping to make itself appear relevant amid a growing wave of formal withdrawals, issued a threat about potentially prosecuting U.S. troops. "Members of U.S. armed forces appear to have subjected at least 61 detained persons to torture, cruel treatment, outrages upon personal dignity on the territory of Afghanistan between 1 May 2003 and 31 December 2014," read a "report" issued by ICC's self-styled "chief prosecutor" Fatou Bensouda (shown), a controversial Muslim lawyer from Gambia who served one of the most oppressive dictators in the world before taking the UN ICC post. The threats follow calls for Bush and Obama to be prosecuted for war crimes, too.

The kangaroo court's "chief prosecutor" also claimed that operatives with the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency might have subjected more than two dozen detainees to "torture, cruel treatment, outrages upon personal dignity and/or rape" between December 2002 and March 2008. The alleged crimes took place in Afghanistan, Poland, Romania, and Lithuania, according to the report. Echoing previous rhetoric, ICC "prosecutors" said they would "imminently" decide whether to try and press forward with a full-scale investigation and possible war-crimes charges against U.S. military and intelligence personnel. The court also claims jurisdiction over vague "crimes of aggression."

10 Abu Sayyaf militants, 4 soldiers slain in Sulu clash
[Inquirer] At least 14 people were killed - ten of them Abu Sayyaf rebels - during a fierce clash amid an intensified anti-Abu Sayyaf operation in Patikul, Sulu, on Friday.

Military spokesman Filemon Tan said four soldiers were slain while nine other soldiers had been injured in the encounter. The Abu Sayyaf suffered undetermined number of injuries, he added. Tan said out of the ten killed rebels, only three bodies had been recovered so far.

The battle broke out when Philippine troops stumbled on a large group of about 150 insurgents under Radullan Sahiron in Barangay Buhanginan. Tan said the gun battle lasted for almost 45 minutes and stopped only when the Abu Sayyaf withdrew. Tan said troops continued to pursue the group while support units fired 105-millimeter howitzers.

FOX25 Investigates: "Jihad" preached inside state prison
Six inmates at MCI Norfolk are facing discipline after a probe into information that some convicts at the prison’s Muslim chapel were preaching jihad speeches by a former Al Qaeda recruiter, FOX25 Investigates has learned.

FOX25 confirmed a report that inmates used recordings from Al Qaeda recruiter and U.S. citizen Anwar al-Awlaki, who was killed years ago in a drone strike, to preach jihad to others at the state prison.

The state Department of Correction has confirmed six inmates who attended the prison’s Muslim chapel are facing discipline for setting up a structure of power over other inmates, requiring uniforms and demanding contracts of allegiance.

Martin Horn, a professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice who once led New York City’s prison system and set up an intelligence center on Rikers Island, said law enforcement officials need to look at more than just the jihad preaching.

Navy says prevented Indian submarine from entering Pakistani waters
[DAWN] The Pakistan Navy on Friday said it had prevented Indian Navy submarines from entering Pakistani territorial waters on Monday, November 14.

"The Indian Navy, in order to fulfil its nefarious designs, was deploying submarines. The Pakistan Navy, alert and using its extreme skill, prevented Indian submarines from entering Pakistani waters."

“The unsuspecting submarine was detected and localised south of Pakistani coast on Nov 14,” read the statement issued by Pakistan Navy.

"Navy fleet units detected the presence of Indian submarines in the southern parts of Pakistani waters, mimiced their behaviour and restricted their activity," the statement said.

The Pakistan Navy prevented the Indian submarines from being successful in their attempts to keep their presence a secret, the statement said, adding that the navy had constantly pursued the submarines and pushed them back.

"This is proof of Pakistan Navy's extremely skilled anti-submarine warfare units," the navy said.

"The Pakistan Navy is fully prepared to defend its borders and capable of responding to any aggression befittingly."

Flynn: Outspoken General, Intelligence Pro, Trump Supporter
[CUSTOMWIRE.AP.ORG] Michael Flynn, the former Army lieutenant general Donald Trump has asked to be his national security adviser, rose through the ranks of military intelligence on the strength of his reputation as an astute professional and an unconventional thinker. After retiring in 2014, he quickly turned on the Obama administration and accused it of being soft on terrorism.

In recent public comments, including his fiery address at the Republican National Convention, Flynn has emphasized his view that Islamic State extremists pose an existential threat on a global scale, demanding a far more aggressive U.S. military campaign against the group, as well as his belief that Washington should work more closely with Moscow.

Flynn is a champion of other foreign policy themes Trump pushed during the campaign, including renegotiating a seven-country agreement with Iran aimed at curbing its nuclear program in exchange for a lifting of economic sanctions.

He has also stirred controversy with his dire warnings about the dangers of Islamist groups, complaining on CNN in June that the U.S. needs to "discredit" radical Islam, but that "we're not allowed to do that right now." He accused the Obama administration in July of failing to design a coherent strategy for opposing the Islamic State group. In August he spoke at an event in Dallas for the anti-Islamist group Act for America, saying that Islam "is a political ideology" and that it "definitely hides behind being a religion."

#3  Flynn is a DIA guy, and that's the one agency that hasn't fouled up repeatedly. Smart guy. Abrasive, and not a "people person". But in the role of NatSecAdv he doesn't have to be managerial so that aspect of his "style" is a moot point except to his staff. He just has to be knowledgeable and intelligent. He is both. He just needs to learn a bit about being a little less impolitic in his public statements, save that for private advice to avoid tipping his hand where the leftists can oppose or twist it before he gets a chance to implement.

Dem lawmaker says Sessions would drag the country back to dark times
[WASHINGTONEXAMINER] A Democratic politician is slamming the selection of Sen. Jeff Sessions as President-elect Trump's attorney general by going so far as to argue the Alabama senator would drag the United States back into the days of rampant racism and suppression of minorities.
So Little Louie is channeling Ted Kennedy...
In a blistering statement about a fellow politician, Illinois Rep. Luis Gutierrez seemed to use the Republican's full name -- Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III -- in an attempt to invoke Confederacy imagery.

"If you have nostalgia for the days when blacks kept quiet, gays were in the closet, immigrants colonists were invisible and women stayed in the kitchen, Sen. Jefferson Beauregard Sessions is your man," Gutierrez said.

PGT Beauregard was one of the first prominent Confederate generals in the Civil War. Beauregard was in charge of the defense of Charleston, S.C., and ordered the first shots of the war by firing on Fort Sumter in the city's harbor. He also helped design the Confederate battle flag.

#11  Mullah Richard,
There is a reason the district is shaped the way it is:
One arm is the Mexican neighborhoods. The other arm is the Puerto Rican neighborhoods. These areas are connected by a thin strand (mostly parts of Interstate 290 on-ramps etc.)
The two groups hate each other, which is why they live 4 miles apart.

Luis' job is to pretend his constituents are a big happy family and that all Latinos are down with transgender rights and other white trustafarian obsessions.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Arizona's presidential electors being harassed, urged not to cast vote for Trump
[FOXNEWS] Arizona’s presidential electors are reportedly being hit by a flood of emails and phone calls demanding they defy the voters in their state and choose Hillary Clinton
... former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, sometimes described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as a crook...
instead of President-elect Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
-- as part of a last-gasp bid to overturn the election.

Since Trump’s surprise victory on Nov. 8, those opposed to his election have engaged in a number of strategies to attempt to nix the election or declare it invalid. Protests, many of them violent, have erupted in cities such as Portland and New York City.

Others, noting that Clinton appears to be on track to win the popular vote but still lose the election, have called for the scrapping of the Electoral College altogether. Retiring Sen. Barbara Call me Senator! Boxer
Senator-for-Life from Caliphornia...
, D-Calif., introduced a bill this week calling for the scrapping of the college ‐ although it is almost certainly doomed to fail in a Republican-controlled Congress.

#3  Whiney cry babies. If you can't win by the rules, change the rules? The rules say you need a Constitutional amendment to change the rules, so get over it--it's not going to happen.

#2  So how did this marshal approach this guy? A known very dangerous and hostile criminal. You just do not knock on the door. In a mobile home, even if you stand aside of the door the perp can shoot a hail of lead through the walls.

Taliban shadow governor among 11 killed in North of Afghanistan
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The shadow provincial governor of the Taliban group for northern Sar-e-Pul province was killed during an operation by the Afghan cops.

"Last night, Afghan National Civil Order Police launched a special clearance operation to clear armed Taliban from Aadrang Barghali region, Sar-e-Pul city of Sar-ePul province," the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said on Wednesday afternoon.

MoI further added "As a result of this operation, 11 armed Taliban including Taliban’s so-called governor for Sar-e-Pul province were killed."

According to MoI, the so-called governor Najibullah known as Ataullah was involved in many terrorist and destructive activities in Sar-e-Pul province.

"After eliminating this group the security situation in this province is expected to improve," MoI added.

The Talibs group has not commented regarding the report so far.
