I have been busily blocking a troll, who is brilliant in the black arts of hacking. If my fat f*cking fingers have blocked you without good reason, please contact me at grurkka@gmail.com, or use a proxy and post here or in the O-club.

This election season, only four days old, is apparently gonna be one helluva ride, so I do hope our regulars and guest will bear with us as we try to keep discourse civil and well reasoned.

#12  ** Zapped **

And when you log on again, let me axe you a question.

Didn't you just say that I am banning proxies and denying others the opportunity to read what is here?

Here is my question: Why were you posted from a website hosting network and not a common proxying network, if that is true?

I blocked a netblock of web servers that generally do not make requests, but services them.

How is that blocking anyone but those who can log on to those servers from remote?

Do you really think that using a customer's website as your personal proxy network would set well with them should they find out?

And don't deny it, we have the logs.

Perhaps now you would like to modify your personal behavior and listen and learn a little something about the website and people you are trolling.

#13  Just a reminder, not all of us who use TOR are trolls. Blocking this troll would block some of us too. There are legitimate security reasons for it.

Legitimate security reasons if you are connecting to a Tor server? But you're not, are you? You are using a proxy through http, and not TOR. This website doesn't service TOR requests, it doesn't even make TOR requests.

You can twist and turn technical terms until you are a Belgian pretzel, but the fact remains, you are using http to troll a website and a web community which has done nothing to you.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
NSA Whistleblower: Agency Has All of Clinton's Deleted Emails
[Breitbart] PHILADELPHIA ‐ The National Security Agency (NSA) has "all" of Hillary Clinton’s deleted emails and the FBI could gain access to them if they so desired, William Binney, a former highly placed NSA official, declared in a radio interview broadcast on Sunday.

Speaking as an analyst, Binney raised the possibility that the hack of the Democratic National Committee’s server was done not by Russia but by a disgruntled U.S. intelligence worker concerned about Clinton’s compromise of national security secrets via her personal email use.
Could have been a parallel or possibly collaborative effort.
Binney was an architect of the NSA’s surveillance program. He became a famed whistleblower when he resigned on October 31, 2001, after spending more than 30 years with the agency.

He was speaking on this reporter’s Sunday radio program, "Aaron Klein Investigative Radio," broadcast on New York’s AM 970 The Answer and Philadelphia’s NewsTalk 990 AM.

Binney referenced testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee in March 2011 by then-FBI Director Robert S. Mueller in which Meuller spoke of the FBI’s ability to access various secretive databases "to track down known and suspected terrorists."

Stated Binney: "Now what he (Mueller) is talking about is going into the NSA database, which is shown of course in the (Edward) Snowden material released, which shows a direct access into the NSA database by the FBI and the CIA. Which there is no oversight of by the way. So that means that NSA and a number of agencies in the U.S. government also have those emails."
Access? If not, why not ?

Caribbean-Latin America
Castro regime is claiming that it is owed $833.755 million, for Reparations
Ht Fausta. How long before Obama gives in? Two weeks?
Representatives of the deeply pro-Castro Obama administration will be meeting this thursday and friday with representatives of the Castro regime in Washington D.C. to discuss "mutual compensation issues."

Yes, "mutual."

The U.S. and the Castro Kingdom will discuss two issues: American property stolen by the Castro regime and "damages" inflicted on the Castro Kingdom by the U.S. "blockade."

According to the Castro regime the U.S. claims amount to 121.192 million dollars, whatever that means.

Well, when all is said and done, the actual amount really doesn't matter, for it is the disproportionate gap between the amount owed to Castrogonia and the amount owed to the U.S. that begs the question. You see, the Castro regime is claiming that it is owed 833.755 million dollars, for "damages" inflicted on it by the U.S. "blockade."

Yes, you've got that right: the Castro regime claims that it is owed roughly SEVEN times more than it owes the U.S.

Europe
Austria To Build Huge Border Fence To Stop Migrants As Free Movement Crumbles
[Breitbart] AUSTRIA has unveiled plans to build a massive 100km fence along its border to stop migrants and refugees crossing into the country.

Engineers in the central European state have finalised plans for the vast barrier, which would stretch along its entire southern border with Hungary.

Austria has repeatedly clashed with Brussels over its clampdown on illegal migration and has already put a daily cap on the number of people who can claim asylum.

And earlier this year the country’s parliament voted through a motion allowing it to declare a state of emergency if migrant numbers suddenly rise, meaning it could instantly shut its borders.

The new border fence will mark a considerable escalation in Austria’s physical attempts to bring down migration, with the country only having constructed one small 4km fence along its border with Slovenia to date.

State officials have reached agreements with hundreds of landowners along the 100km stretch of border which will allow the fence to be put up in record time should the number of refugees increase again, according to a police spokesman.

Muslim Dad on Clinton News Network: Terror ‘Has Nothing to Do with Islam'
[Breitbart] Khizr Khan, the bereaved father of fallen soldier Capt. Humayun Khan who attacked Donald Trump last week in a speech at the Democratic National Convention, told CNN’s Jim Acosta Sunday morning that terror has "nothing to do with Islam."

Here is Khan’s full quote:

In addition to this, there was in the speech that my good wife asked me to refrain from saying, I wanted to say we reject all violence. We are faithful, patriotic, undivided loyalty to this country. We reject all terrorism. She asked me not to say that because that was not the occasion for such a statement. We say to his ignorance, I address his ignorance, that the dirt effect, the most effect of the menace of terrorism have been Muslims in the world, Muslims hate this menace of terrorism as much as any other place. It is our duty to keep this country, our country, beautiful country, safe. We have always thought of [it] that way, we will continue to do our part to keep it safe and beautiful. What he cites in the name of Islam, and all that -- that is not Islam at all! I wish he would have, somebody would have put something in his head that these are terrorists, these are criminals, these folks have nothing to do with Islam.

Khan also asked Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Speaker of the House Paul Ryan to "repudiate" Trump, calling it a "moral obligation" and warning that failing to do so would be a "burden on their souls" that history would not forgive.

#14  An Open Letter to Mr. Khizr Khan

Dear Mr. Khan:

I, like millions of Americans saw your speech at the DNC on Thursday night.

I wish to offer my sympathy for the death of your son, Captain Humayun Khan, who was killed in action in Iraq.

As a former US Army officer, and a veteran of the Gulf War, I can certainly understand the pain and anguish that you and your wife endure every day.

Your son died saving the lives of his fellow soldiers. As John wrote, Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Captain Khan is a hero. I am sure the soldiers he served with regard him as one. I know you and your wife do. Rest assured that millions of veterans regard your son as a hero as well.

To paraphrase from the Book of Ecclesiasticus, your son’s name liveth for evermore.

Your son made the ultimate sacrifice for his country, a country that was new to you and your family and one which you openly embraced and certainly love.

When you and your family arrived to America from Pakistan, you assimilated into our country. You adopted American ways, learned our history and apparently you even acquired a pocket Constitution along the way. Good for you sir.

But, there are many Muslims in America who not only have no desire to assimilate, but wish to live under Sharia Law.

That is unacceptable to Americans. There is only one law of the land. That is the US Constitution.

As you well know, Mr. Khan, we live in violent times, dangerous times. Muslim madmen from ISIS and other radical Jihadi groups are on a murder and terror spree across the globe.

Your religion of peace, Islam, is anything but that in 2016. That is a fact that is confirmed every time a Muslim shoots, bombs, beheads and tortures innocent men, women and children. This does not mean that every Muslim is a terrorist, but most terrorists, sir, are indeed Muslims.

A Muslim terrorist attack has become the sign of the times.

Regardless of what the feckless, naïve, leftist ideologue Barack Obama and his dimwitted colleagues John Kerry, Francois Hollande and Angela Merkel state, the United States and the West are at war with Radical Islam. It is the job of the President of the United States to protect his nation from all enemies; foreign and domestic. Unfortunately, Mr. Obama romanticizes Islam and refuses to accept reality, which has resulted in the deaths of thousands of innocent people across the world.

Groups like ISIS and Al-Qaeda have one goal, the complete destruction of the Judeo-Christian culture, our religions and our way of life.

Many Americans have families that have been here for decades, even centuries. Many families like mine have relatives who fought in the Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and Desert Storm. Some families have relatives who fought in the American Revolution.

We don’t plan on letting our country be devoured by Muslim maniacs. We are Americans sir, and not unarmed, socialist European zombies. We will do what is necessary to protect the United States. While many Democrats and liberals see the world through rose colored glasses, conservatives understand that there is good and evil in this world. Evil must be destroyed before it destroys us.

Strong measures, wartime measures, must be taken to protect this country from those that wish to annihilate us and our way of life.

Mr. Trump’s plan to temporarily halt immigration from Muslim countries that are known to either support terrorism or harbor terrorist groups is not only pragmatic, but indeed it is constitutional. It is the constitutional duty of the President of the United States to protect this nation.

There is simply no way to vet hundreds of thousands of Muslim refugees from war zones like Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Europe is being destroyed because reckless leaders like Angela Merkel have opened the continent’s doors to a flood of over one million undocumented Muslims arriving with nothing more than a bad attitude and a haversack of Jihad.

Do you think Americans are stupid? While the left lives in a dream world, the right does not. Mr. Trump understands the threat to his nation and the threat, sir, is not from Swedish Lutherans named Anna and Lars. The threat, sir, is from Radical Islam.

How in God’s name are US immigration authorities supposed to know the true intentions of a 22 year old Syrian man? It is impossible. You know it is impossible.

How in God’s name are US immigration authorities supposed to know the true intentions of hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees and thousands of other sundry Muslims who wish to arrive on our shores?

It is impossible. You know it is impossible.

Whether you, your wife, the Muslim world and millions of Democrats are offended by Mr. Trump’s realistic view of the world is irrelevant.

Whether you, your wife and son would have been prohibited from emigrating from Pakistan to America under Mr. Trump’s wartime plan is irrelevant. The security of this great land supersedes your desires and the desires of others who wish to come here now. The United States of America has no obligation to open its doors in order to placate foreigners and liberals in our government.

To adopt any other course but Mr. Trump’s would be a cause for further endangering the lives of Americans every day. That, sir, is unacceptable.

You attacked Mr. Trump in front of a worldwide audience, yet you can’t understand the fact that he defends himself against attacks from you, Hillary Clinton and the left. What else is one to do sir?

We must live in a world of reality, not a world of denial, delusion and fantasy the Democrats inhabit every waking day of their lives.

Radical Islam is the enemy of everyone on this planet who believes in freedom and justice. Until it is destroyed, this nation must protect itself from enemies both foreign and domestic.

Remembrance March for Victims of Nice, France Terror Attack Called Off Due to Islamist Threats
[Gateway Pundit] A remembrance march for victims of the Islamic State truck attack in Nice, France has been banned because of continuing safety concerns and stretched security services.

Two weeks ago, on the 14th of July, hundreds of people were mown down by a man crying "Allahu Akbar" as they celebrated France’s national day on the coastal Promenade des Anglais.

More than 10,000 people indicated on Facebook that they would attend the "white march" to remember the 84 who died and the dozens still in hospital.

"Given the very strong mobilisation of law enforcement and emergency and threat, the Alpes-Maritimes authorities have decided not to allow the white march that was to be held Sunday", authorities announced today in a statement, Le Figaro reports.

The organisers, "who had duly filed a declaration", were "informed yesterday (Wednesday)" of the decision, which was "made in consultation with the Mayor of Nice" the statement explained.

"March together to honour the victims of the attack on July 14, which killed at least 84 innocent people", organisers announced on Facebook.

"A thought for their families but also the wounded still hospitalised in the process of fighting," they added.

Liberal Dem Running for Congress Caught Driving Stolen Van, Resists Arrest – Blames Cops
[Gateway Pundit] Jesse Wineberry, a Seattle Democrat running for Congress, was detained after driving a van that was reported stolen and being extremely uncooperative with police. And now he’s claiming a "conspiracy" to stifle his political career, according to a police report.

Seattle Police Officer Benjamin Flick found a red Toyota that had been reported stolen in the 1500 block of Occidental Avenue South on July 20, according to the report. Wineberry, 61, was the driver and was asked repeatedly to exit the vehicle but did not comply.

After being asked three times to exit the van, he began to drive away from the officers but was quickly stopped. On the fifth command, Wineberry finally started to comply.

But Wineberry again ignored police commands, even with more officers arriving.

Wineberry, according to the report, would not "place his hands behind his back" even after being asked nine times. Instead, he told them to "Stop f****ing with me." He then resisted arrest, refusing to allow officers to place handcuffs on his wrist. At one point, Wineberry allegedly "place[d] his left hand onto the ... gun belt of one of the officers." At the time, he denied reaching for the officer’s gun.

Finally, Wineberry was placed in handcuffs but refused to sit in the back of the patrol car.

Gorka: DNC Ignores ISIS Because Its Existence Disproves Multiculturalist Narrative
[Breitbart] Dr. Sebastian Gorka, National Security Editor for Breitbart News and author of the best-selling Defeating Jihad: The Winnable War, appeared on Fox News’ "Hannity" with guest host Tucker Carlson on Friday night to discuss the way terrorism was downplayed at the Democratic National Convention.

Carlson observed that ISIS and terrorism were scarcely mentioned during the convention, and wondered if it was a matter of Democrats not understanding the threat of Islamic terrorism, or being unwilling to acknowledge it for political reasons.

"If you look at the last seven and a half years, I think it has to be the latter," said Gorka.

"I want to be careful here, Tucker," he continued. "I don’t want to lambaste all Democratic voters in America. The DNC is really a function of the left-wing machine. It’s part of a Party that’s been captured by the radicals."

"Just look at what happened. The convocation was booed. The serviceman with a Medal of Honor, trying to read the names of his fellow servicemen killed in combat was booed. The female police officer who asked for a moment of silence for fallen police officers was heckled by the Black Lives Matter. This is unbelievable, and clearly the thing that they’re most concerned about isn’t ISIS, it’s Donald Trump and global warming," Gorka said.

Carlson asked what it was about ISIS and Islamic terrorism that Democrats are so reluctant to acknowledge.

"I think the trouble with ISIS, or with radical Islam, is that its existence, its bare existence, countermands the one-world kumbaya moral relativism and multiculturalism that the Democrat Party has been ramming down our throats for 30 years," Gorka replied. "If all cultures are equal, if everybody has the same values, then how does this thing called jihadism exist, and why do people shout ’Allahu akbar’ as they’re running out of the church in Normandy, having beheaded a Catholic priest in front of the altar?"

Southeast Asia
Philippine president calls off truce after rebel attack
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte called off a weeklong cease-fire after communist guerrillas killed a government militiaman and failed to declare their own truce by a Saturday deadline, in an early setback to his efforts to end one of Asia’s longest-raging rebellions.

It was the first irritant in what has been a blossoming relationship between Duterte, who calls himself a left-wing president, and the Maoist guerrillas, who have been waging a decades-long insurrection. Both sides had previously agreed to resume peace talks next month in Norway, and it was not immediately clear whether the talks would be affected.

Withdrawing his cease-fire order, Duterte said in a statement Saturday evening that he had ordered all government forces to go on high alert and "continue to discharge their normal functions and mandate to neutralize all threats to national security, protect the citizenry, enforce the laws and maintain peace in the land."

In a separate statement issued after the cease-fire order was lifted, the military said that the New People’s Army guerrillas had "missed a golden opportunity" to demonstrate their commitment to peace.

"This could have been what the Filipino nation had been waiting for - the silencing of the guns that could have hastened development, especially in the countryside," military chief of staff Gen. Ricardo Visaya said in the statement, adding that the armed forces would abide by Duterte’s latest order.

Duterte, who was sworn in on June 30, declared the government cease-fire Monday during his state of the nation address. Two days later, however, rebels killed the militiaman and maimed four others in southern Davao del Norte province, angering Duterte, who sought an explanation for the attack and gave the gunnies until 5 p.m. Saturday to declare their own cease-fire.

The rebels failed to declare a truce by the deadline. A regional rebel front man, Rigoberto Sanchez, instead accused the military of disobeying the president by continuing combat deployments and operations in the country’s south.

"There is no conspicuous and veritable unilateral cease-fire exercised by" the military, police and paramilitary forces in the south," he said in a statement posted on a rebel website.

While the New People’s Army in the south was ready to reciprocate Duterte’s cease-fire, "it cannot be harangued to reciprocate a unilateral cease-fire order that is overtly mocked by the Armed Forces of the Philippines hierarchy and its ground troops and paramilitary forces," Sanchez said.

Sanchez said that government forces have continued to undertake combat operations, surveillance, reconnaissance, intelligence and psychological warfare in civilian communities, and alleged that troops were protecting "illegal activities such as drug trade and logging and mining pay-offs."

Military officials have denied rebel allegations that their combat operations were continuing, saying troops immediately shifted to defensive positions after the president announced the government cease-fire.

The snuffies had been recalled from a security mission following Duterte’s truce declaration and were traveling back to their patrol base when they came under rebel attack, the military said.

Duterte flew to Davao del Norte on Friday to attend the slain militiaman’s wake. Visibly upset, he asked the rebels if they would match his cease-fire.

"If I don’t get the word from you, then I will lift the order of cease-fire," the president said, adding that he was rejecting rebel demands for him to withdraw government troops and coppers from certain rural areas.

Rebel leaders then asked Duterte to give them more time to study his truce declaration, and the president responded by saying that was "not a good response."

The decades-long communist insurgency has left about 150,000 combatants and civilians dead since it broke out in the late 1960s. It also has stunted economic development, especially in the countryside, where the Maoist gunnies are active.

Under Duterte’s predecessor, Benigno Aquino III, peace talks stalled over the government’s refusal to heed a rebel demand for the release of some captured guerrillas. Duterte, however, has agreed to the release of detained rebels, who would be involved in peace talks, and designated two allies of the guerrillas to Cabinet posts in concessions aimed at fostering the talks.

It was unclear whether the emerging differences between Duterte and the guerrillas would affect the peace talks, scheduled for Aug. 20-27 in the Norwegian capital of Oslo.

Libya needs a small, effective army: Former Chief of Staff Mangoush
[Libya Herald] Rebuilding Libya’s unified army is going to be a big challenge. It cannot be done in the short term, but that does not prevent work starting, former Libyan Chief of Staff Yusef Mangoush said Friday.

Rebuilding a national army is seen as a means of achieving security for Libya with its widespread dispersion of weapons. However,
a poor excuse is better than no excuse at all...
its rebuilding has been one of the most contended issues in Libya over the last five years, Mangoush explained, speaking exclusively to Libya Herald on the margins of a conference organized by King’s College on Libyan security in London.

BGB busts RSO meeting, AL MP flees
[Dhaka Tribune] BGB members on Saturday afternoon tossed in the slammer
Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages!
four people including a former commander of Rohingya Solidarity Organisation (RSO) and a Saudi national while holding a secret meeting in the dead of night in Teknaf.

Awami League politician from Cox’s Bazar 4 constituency Abdur Rahman Bodi, Teknaf Upazila Chairman Jafar Ahmed, Vice-Chairman Maulana Rafique Uddin and Baharchhara Union Chairman Aziz Uddin also attended the meeting held at the house of Maulana Syed Karim in Shamlapur area
of Baharchhara.

"But they managed to flee the scene.
... as though they had never been...
before we reached the house," Teknaf 2 BGB Commander Lt Col Abuzar Al Jahid said.

The four arrestees are former RSO commander Hafez Salaul Islam, a resident of Dakkhin Muhuri Para in Cox’s Bazar; Syed Karim; Saudi national Abu Saleh Al Gambi; and Maulana Md Ibrahim of Dhaka.

The three others present at the meeting expeditiously departed at a goodly pace, said the battalion’s Deputy Commander Maj Abu Russel Siddique, who led the drive conducted by a special BGB team around 3:30pm.

Police say Salaul was arrested several times in the past but managed to get bail.

When contacted, Bodi claimed that he had not been present at the meeting, rather "I came later and assisted the BGB men in arresting the four."

The four detainees were being questioned at the Teknaf BGB camp.

The RSO is a Myanmar-based sectarian outfit, and has connection with several local Lion of Islam groups including outlawed Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB).

According to police and local sources, Salaul has close ties with the ruling party MPs from Cox’s Bazar and Teknaf, and several other leaders of the BNP and its ally Islami Oikyo Jote.

He recently set up an Islamic centre at Dakkhin Muhuri Para allegedly by grabbing seven acre land of the Forest Department and three acres from the locals. The activities of RSO are operated from this centre, say sources.

On the other hand, politician Bodi has long been accused of patronising illegal Rohingya immigrants colonists in his area.

The Grand Turk
Turkey frees 758 soldiers after failed coup
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Turkey has released more than 750 soldiers detained after an abortive coup, state media reported on Saturday, while President Tayyip Erdogan said he would drop lawsuits against people who had insulted him, in a one-time gesture of “unity”.

More than 60,000 people have been detained, removed or suspended over suspected links with the failed putsch, when a faction of the military commandeered tanks, helicopters and fighter jets and attempted to topple the government.

Turkey’s Western allies have condemned the coup, in which Erdogan has said 237 people were killed and more than 2,100 were wounded, but have been rattled by the scale of the resulting crackdown which has targeted supporters of Fethullah Gulen.

The US-based Muslim cleric, accused by Ankara of masterminding the July 15-16 putsch, denies the charges and Erdogan’s critics say the president is using the purges to clamp down on dissent.

Erdogan, meanwhile, has said it was “shameful” that Western countries showed more interest in the fate of the plotters than in standing with a fellow NATO member and has upbraided Western leaders for not visiting after the putsch. US chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Joseph Dunford, a top military official, is due to visit Turkey on Sunday.

State-run Anadolu Agency reported that 758 soldiers were released on the recommendation of prosecutors after giving testimony, and the move was agreed by a judge. Another 231 soldiers remain in custody, it said.

Turkey’s military, the second-largest in NATO, has been hard hit in the wake of the coup, with about 40 percent of all generals and admirals dismissed. On Thursday, 99 colonels were promoted to the rank of general or admiral, following the dishonorable discharge of nearly 1,700 military personnel.

Hardliners target Rada chief Kara
[Libya Herald] Abdul Raouf Kara, the head of the of RADA (Deterrence) forces, one of the main security groups backing the Presidency Council, is being targeted by the alliance of hardliners and murderous Moslems seeking to wrest control of Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
Wissam Ben Hamid, the former leader of Benghazi’s Libya Shield
...a conglomerate of pro-Islamist militias deployed across Libya. It reports to the Libyan defense ministry and is organized like a real army unit. Its commander used to head a Benghazi brigade called Free Libya Martyrs...
No. 1 brigade who fled the city last year and has since been spending time between Tripoli, Misrata and Jufra, yesterday accused Kara and Rada of being part of a "malicious clique".

In a video published by Benghazi Defence Brigades (Benghazi Saraya) which claims to be operating under the authority of grand mufti Sadek Al-Ghariani, Ben Humaid described Kara as a hypocrite who pretended to be on the side of the revolutionaries but in reality was no different to Khalifa Hafter.

Ben Hamid also attacked the Presidency Council, Hafter and the French, alleging a conspiracy between the latter two and declaring that the mujahdeen would never give up until they had expelled "the invaders" from the country. As for the Presidency, it was a council of traitors intent on dividing Libya.

Ben Hamid’s outburst came after the Presidency Council declared a three-day state of emergency in Tripoli amid fears that the murderous Moslems planned to take over government buildings after demonstrations in Martyrs’ Square. Streets leading to the square were closed but although there hundreds tuned up to protest against both the French and the Presidency, there were no attacks.

Speaking earlier this week on his Tanasah TV station, Ghariani ordered Kara to release all jihadists held by him at the prison at Mitiga airbase. Calling them "brothers", he said they were country’s real political saviours

Kara is reported to be holding a number of IS and Ansara Al-Sharia supporters.

Ben Hamid was accused last year of ordering the liquidation of Mahdi Al-Barghathi, at the time commander of Benghazi’s 20 Tank Brigade, now the Presidency Council’s defence minister.

Boy, 12, assigned for attack on a stadium arrested by Afghan forces
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Afghan cops foiled a suicide kaboom plot by the anti-government armed Death Eater groups on a stadium in Badghis province.

The Afghan Intelligence, National Directorate of Security
...the Afghan national intel agency...
(NDS), said the terrorist groups had appointed a 12-year-old boy for the attack on the stadium in Qala-e-Naw city.

NDS in a statement said the terro group of Abdul Aziz was looking to detonate an Improvised Explosive Device in the stadium which was planted in the body of the young boy.

The statement further added that a wrestling match was organized the terror group was looking to attack the gathering of the people by detonating the body-borne Improvised Explosive Device using a remote control.

The anti-government armed Death Eater groups have not commented regarding the report so far.

This comes as the Afghan children have regularly been recruited by the Death Eater groups, the Taliban and the Haqqani network for the terrorist related activities, including suicide attacks.

Madrasas are described as the main recruitment source for the Death Eater groups as poor families in Pakistain and Afghanistan send their sons to such madrassas for free education and lodging.

Cooling down Kashmir
[DAWN] ONE wonders why the Indian army, with nearly 600,000 soldiers and paramilitary personnel, saw 22-year-old Burhan Wani and his Kashmiri lads as a terrible threat needing elimination. Surely these were not the monsters that murdered dozens at the Victoria Terminus and then scoured the rooms of the Taj looking for Hindus and Jews to shoot. They were not crazed religious myrmidons, nor on Pakistain’s payroll. Instead these angry rebellious youth were drawn by romance and bravado into their war against Indian occupation. They had a few guns but their real weapons were Facebook images.

That Wani was hunted down, and killed instead of captured, was bad enough. But the use of pellet guns to blind and maim hundreds of protesters at his funeral -- no less than 200,000 -- is downright criminal. Wani’s killing was also a clear slap in the face for India’s Supreme Court which, on July 8, had curtailed the immunity enjoyed thus far by the Indian armed forces. Specifically, its ruling declared that every armed person in a disturbed area, including Kashmire, may not be necessarily considered an enemy but, even if he turns out to be an enemy, excessive use of force is still not legally permitted.

Having chosen to create another dead hero for Kashmiri independence, India must once again deal with a rebellion that threatens to go viral. Reports say that protesters chanted ’Tum kitne Burhan marogay? Har ghar se Burhan niklega’ (How many Burhans will you kill? A Burhan will emerge from every home). Wani’s killing may well have set into motion an action-reaction cycle that could take Kashmire back to the carnage of 1987. Set off by protests against the rigging of Kashmiri elections by far-off Delhi, India’s massive over-reaction had sparked off an insurgency that lasted into the early 2000s and resulted in the deaths of nearly 90,000 civilians, myrmidons, police, and soldiers.

IS claims suicide bombing in Benghazi
A foto of the dear departed at the link
A suicide car bomb attack which yesterday killed two members of the Libyan National Army in Benghazi’s Gwarsha district and wounded another four has been claimed by the so-called Islamic State (IS). It named the suicide bomber as Ziyad Fawzi Gergum, posting photos of him and of the attack taken by a camera-mounted drone.

Funeral prayers for him were organised by the family today in Misrata where they have been living recently.

The family, however, are claiming that he was killed, not in a suicide bombing, but in a French airstrike. For its part, Sadek Al-Ghariani’s Tanasah TV said that he died in an operation carried out by the Benghazi Revolutionaries’ Shoura Council against the LNA.

Gergum himself, before the attack, posted a photo of Osman Bin laden on his Facebook page.

According to a source in Benghazi, he was a member of a relatively well-to-do local family involved in the shoe whole-selling business and was born in 1990. Following the revolution, when he was a member of the 17 February Brigade, he went to Syria where he was a member of Liwa Al-Umma under former Tripoli mayor Al-Mahdi Al-Harathi. Wounded there, he was taken to Turkey for medical treatment. He then returned to Benghazi where he joined IS but was wounded in Benina and sent this time for medical treatment to Misrata where his family joined him. Leaving them there after recuperating, he went to Sirte, remaining there for some time before returning to Benghazi where he remained until yesterdays’ suicide operation.

Brother kills two sisters for 'honour' in Vehari for marrying outside caste
[DAWN] LAHORE: A man in Vehari district allegedly killed his two sisters in the name of "honour" for marrying the persons of their choice, police sources told Dawn on Saturday.

"Nasir Hussain killed his two sisters, Ghazala and Kausar for marrying outside their caste and later fled the area," said Station House Office (SHO) Mitro cop shoppe Mehar Riaz.

The police officer said that the victims' father Atta Muhammad Bhatti registered a First Information Report (FIR) in Mitro cop shoppe against his son Nasir Hussain for killing Ghazala, 22, and Kausar, 20, days before their formal wedding ceremony.

"The brother rubbed out both the sisters yesterday and fled the site," the officer said, adding that a search was underway. "It is a simple case of killing for honour."

Father of the family Atta Mohammad told news hounds that Hussain had "destroyed everything".

"He ruined my family, he destroyed us, he destroyed everything" Mohammad said.

The perpetrators of so-called honour killings -- in which the victim, normally a woman, is killed by a relative -- often walk free because they can seek forgiveness for the crime from another family member.

Turkish warbirds hit Kurd Kommie water supplies in Qandil
(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad- A well placed source in Baghdad informed that Turkish airstrikes against PKK guerrillas along the borders of Kurdistan Region have damaged to water supply resources of the villages near Mount Qandil.

Quoting an official from the Directorate of Water and Sewerage of Warti area, 36 km from Rawanduz in northwestern Erbil, the source said that every time Turkish warplanes bomb the area, they cause damage to the water supply network, particularly in Zargali village; which has always been on the target list.

“Village’s water supply has repeatedly been cut. The latest bombing in the area left the village without water for nearly a month,” the source informed quoting the official.

It may be mentioned here that the residents of these frequently targeted areas previously have demanded the government to pressure PKK to remove its bases from the areas.

Syrian Islamist opposition group: Nusra breaking ties with al-Qaeda is not enough to gain trust
I bet a fat f*ucking check would go a long way towards establishing trust, failing that a nice numbered account somewhere. I swear these guys are worse than solar panel makers.
ALEPPO – Captain Islam Aloush, the official spokesman for the Syrian rebel faction of al-Islam Army, said Saturday that the decision of the Nusra Front to split from al-Qaeda “is not enough” for the group to get closer to the Syrian people.

“Our national revolution is to liberate people oppressed by the criminal sectarian regime in Syria. Therefore, any group’s link with any global organization would hinder achieving the goals of the Syrian people’s revolution,” Aloush said.

“Such links would make Syrians responsible for the faults and errors of these global organizations. However, this step from Jabhat al-Nusra is not enough to get closer to the Syrian people,” he said in a public statement.

The spokesman of Jaish al-Islam (Army of Islam) stressed the need to unite all Syrian rebel factions. “Unfortunately, many internal and external obstacles stand against this unification at all levels,” he added.

“I do not think that the disengagement of Jabhat al-Nusra from al-Qaeda will have an effect on the military ideology of the fighters of Fath al-Sham [new name for Nusra Front]. We will be waiting and watching the behavior of the new formation with its new name in order for us to pass a fair judgment,” Aloush concluded.

The leader of Syria’s Nusra Front Abu Muhammed al-Joulani announced on Thursday that they would break ties with al-Qaeda. “We declare the complete cancellation of all operations under the name of Jabhat Al Nusra [Syria’s branch of al-Qaeda], and the formation of a new group operating under the name “Jabhat Fath Al Sham,” noting that this new organization has no affiliation to any external entity,” Joulani said, while for the first time appearing with his face uncovered last Thursday.

The US-led coalition said they will continue to target the group, despite of the name-change.

Kurdish-held cities in northeastern Syria more vulnerable to ISIS attacks
AMUDE – A gunman was killed in the Kurdish city of Amude in northeastern Syria while trying to carry out a terror attack, local sources reported on Saturday.

Eyewitnesses and local activists told ARA News an attacker tried to place an explosive device in parked vehicle in central Amude, however it was exploded before being installed leading to the death of the militant, who is believed to have ties with the radical group of Islamic State (ISIS).

Nevertheless, an informed source within the Kurdish security forces [known as Asayish] said a person tried to blow up a vehicle with gasoline.

Reportedly, the attacker was part of an ISIS sleeping cell of five members in the areas of Amude and Dirbisiya, belonging to the Arab community, who were trying to plan attacks on the city of Amude, the centre of the local Kurdish administration.

Car explosion follows a failed attempt by ISIS militant to carry out a terror attack in the Kurdish Amude city northeast Syria. (activists)
Noteworthy, a massive blast rocked the city of Qamishli on the 27th of July leading to the death of at least 50 civilians, and more than 177 injuries. ISIS claimed responsibility for the deadly attack, saying it was “just the beginning”.

The recent attacks have resulted in a state of anxiety among the Syrian Kurds who fear more ISIS attacks.

Yemen government withdraws from Kuwait talks with rebels
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Yemen’s government delegation has quit talks in Kuwait with Shiite Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
rebels despite resuming them earlier this month.

Officials with Yemen’s internationally recognized government of President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named they were considering proposals to reconvene the talks, which have failed to bridge the gap with the rebels, in Oman. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to brief news hounds otherwise.

Hadi’s government is backed by a US assisted Saudi-led military campaign against the Iranian catspaws. The war has killed some 9,000 people.

Hadi’s negotiators are demanding the implementation of a UN Security Council resolution which stipulates the withdrawal of militias from all cities. The Houthis want the Saudi-led offensives to stop first, and also a share of power in a transitional government.

Russia's secret super submarine fleet could be unstoppable in World War III scenario
Prolly devastating in the submarine races context as well.
"The deadly group of stealthy underwater weapons are currently patrolling the world and have already reportedly breached UK waters having approached the Royal Navy's base in Faslane, Scotland.

Russia is stepping up its secret submarine programme to "Cold War" levels and experts warn NATO members "no longer" have the defences to stop the aquatic death machines.

Andrew Metrick, who co-wrote the report for the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), said: "Russia operates a small number of very small, nuclear powered submarines that are capable of diving in excess of several thousand meters.

Informal traffic analysis shows a steady stream of news and commentary like this about war with Russia. Seems a tad suspicious given the current problems with Islam - not that the media would ever coordinate attacks on the target du jour at the behest of their political masters.

Belgium charges man with planning attack, releases brother
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Belgium charged a man with planning to commit murder in a terrorist attack and released his brother after a series of house searches on Friday evening, federal prosecutors said.

For the time being, there was no connection with the attacks at Brussels airport and the metro on March 22, in which 32 people were killed, the prosecution office said on Saturday.

Nourredine H., was detained with his brother Hamza H., on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack somewhere in Belgium.

A judge on Saturday charged Nourredine with attempting to commit a terrorist murder and participation in the activities of a terrorist organization, and extended his custody.

His brother was released without charge.

The federal prosecution office had earlier said it appeared from its initial investigation that there were plans to carry out an attack somewhere in the country.

Public broadcaster RTBF said that Nourredine had previously helped others travel to fight in Syria and had recently travelled widely across Europe, making a number of contacts in La Belle France. It added he was looking for weapons, which had prompted Belgian Sherlocks to act.

Police carried out seven house searches in the region of Mons and a further house search in Liege on Friday evening. No weapons or explosives were found.

Benghazi Shura Council accuses Presidential Council of treason
[Libya Observer] The military official in the Benghazi Shura Council, Wisam Ben Hamid, accused the Presidential Council of the UN-proposed government of treason, splitting the country and stealing its fortunes, saying it does not aim at bringing the Libyans into concord nor does it aim at prevailing justice and unifying all citizens.

In a recorded statement posted by the media arm of the Shura Council, Al-Saraya Center, on Friday, Ben Hamid called on people, who went on streets and public squares to denounce the French intervention, to continue doing so, praising their brave stance, adding that the French intervention unveils the true intentions of Dignity Operation, which he said "an attempt to bring back the former regime and plunder the people’s fortunes.

"We hail the stance taken by the Libyan religious scholars who rejected the French intervention and we also appreciate the courageous stance of southern and western revolutionaries who backed the scholars up." He explained, urging the revolutionaries to keep on pressing and to move from words to actions.

Ben Hamid reiterated his call on Cyrenaica residents, whom he called "Sons of Glorious Cyrenaica", to disown Dignity Operation and foreign intervention, confirming that Benghazi Shura Council will keep on putting the revolution back on the right track and defend Islam.

Last week, many people erupted into the streets in Tripoli

Lahore eatery renders apology after waiter assaults customer
[DAWN] A "hot headed" waiter at a Lahore restaurant allegedly assaulted a guest before fleeing the place, the restaurant's management issued a media release on Saturday and extended an apology in this regard.

A government officer, Ahsan Anwer Khokar -- who visited Rina's Kitchenette in the city's Defence Housing Authority (DHA) with his family -- was reportedly attacked by an unruly waiter with a tray after he complained about his order being too late in the incident which occurred Friday night, eye witnesses said.

The video of the incident, recorded by an eye witness, went viral on social media before being removed by the up-loader on victim's request.

"One of the waiters just slashed a wooden board on a customers face right across our table three times and then broke a glass on the other table where another family was sitting. The client's face was bleeding profusely and everyone was traumatised and is still shaken," said Shayan Azmat, the eye witness who recorded the whole incident on video.

"The victim only wanted to meet the manager because they kept him waiting for 40 minutes for their order and then said that the particular food was not available," another eye witness wrote in a post on social media.

People commenting on the post, however, are also saying the waiter reacted after he was verbally abused the customer.

The restaurant's management, in a post on its Facebook page apologised and claimed that they have submitted a request to the police to register an FIR against the waiter on eatery's behalf.

"In our industry there is no excuse for something like this. People will say that the waiter was provoked, that he was baited, a few will ask for the other side of the story. The truth is that there is no other side of the story; there is no excuse for violence. The waiter was hot headed and acted in rage and we strongly believe that there is no amount of provocation that justifies his act." reads the post.

Developing: Thousands Of Turkish Forces Surround U.S. Base At Incirlik Airbase
[WeaselZippers] Erdogan has blamed Turkish Air Force members who had worked closest with NATO and U.S. as being involved in coup. They have also previously accused U.S. of involvement in the coup, even blaming the former commander of the base, who retired in March and couldn’t have been involved. But an Erdogan Islamist paper explicitly blamed him, stoking flames against NATO and the U.S.

’Protesters’, read Erdogan Islamists, were there Thursday, with pro-Erdogan Islamists yelling "death to the US" and called for the immediate closure of the Incirlik base.

Meanwhile Obama is on his birthday golf outing with the boys.

Update:
Reports of protesters in front of the U.S. Consulate in Adana. That is about 13 minutes away from Incirlik. Chanting "America, go away!"
Uh Oh.
Update at 12:45 a.m. ET: The only English language news reports I can find are from Australia and Russia Today, and they are reporting from their twitter feeds, as far as I can tell, just like this Weasel Zipper report. As you find new developments please add them to this thread, dear Reader, so as not to split the discussion.

Thanking you for the moderators,

The Turkish commanding officer of the Turkish presence at Incirlik was detained days ago. Protesters recently at Incirlik claimed US forces there were also responsible. #29  some info from the twitter feed:

In the wake of the coup attempt, several military officials at the Incirlik Air Base, including its commander, General Bekir Ercan Van, were arrested on treason charges by Turkish authorities, which claimed that one of the rogue F-16 planes taking part in the rebellion to overthrow Erdogan’s government had been refueled there.

The general had even reportedly attempted to seek asylum in the US, but his plea was apparently rejected.

Incirlic Air Base is used by both the Turkish and US militaries and is vital to the US-led anti-terror bombing campaign in Syria and Iraq. It also serves as one of six NATO storage sites for US tactical nuclear weapons in Europe. The exact number of nuclear bombs kept at the base is unknown, although, according to various estimates, it may store up to 90 warheads.

The 35-year-old Pak Mohammad Usman and 29-year-old Algerian Adel Haddadi were charged with "criminal conspiracy with terrorists", the source said of the men turned over earlier Friday by Austrian authorities.

Investigators believe they travelled to the Greek island of Leros on October 3 on the same boat full of refugees as two men who took part in the November 13 attacks.

Those two, thought to be Iraqis, blew themselves up outside the Stade de La Belle France stadium, one of a series of brazen assaults by around 10 people around the French capital.

But Haddadi and Usman were held up, detained by Greek authorities for 25 days because they had fake Syrian passports.

Once let go, they followed the main migrant trail and made it to Salzburg in western Austria at the end of November -- after the Gay Paree attacks.

Syrian rebel troops continue advances into Manbij
MANBIJ – The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) freed some 3,000 civilians on Saturday, after making more advances against the radical group of Islamic State (ISIS) in the city of Manbij, the SDF leadership reported.

Speaking to ARA News, the official spokesman of the SDF-led Manbij Military Council Sharvan Darwish said they have freed nearly 3,000 cvilians after their forces took control of the Al-Jazeera road in Manbij city in Syria’s northern Aleppo province.

“Everyday we are liberating civilians who were trapped inside clashes districts and take them to safe areas,” he said.

“In the last few days our forces were able to release 500 to 1000 civilians per day, however today the number has increased after we liberated the Al Jazeera road,” the SDF official told ARA News.

ISIS militants have been using the trapped civilians as human shield in order to halt the advance made by SDF forces. The group has also killed dozens of people who tried to escape the city of Manbij.

The Kurdish-led SDF forces accepted an initiative by the Manbij notable citizens to open a humanitarian corridor, but so far, ISIS did not respond to any initiative to free civilians stranded in the war-torn city.

“More than 70 per cent of Manbij is officially liberated. Our forces are now tightening the siege over the city. The ISIS militants will soon collapse in Manbij, and we are not far from liberating the city centre,” Darwish concluded.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Brit paper believes naval 5-inch guns are literally 5-inch guns
If modern day journalists knew exactly how powerful, rapid firing and accurate today's naval artillery is, they would need Depends everytime they write a story about it.
A British tabloid made an embarrassing error Friday, writing a hysterical piece that incorrectly reported the Defence Ministry had paid hundreds of millions of pounds to buy a five-inch-long gun.

“We just blew £183m on a five-inch gun, but it’s ‘a good value for taxpayers,’” read the outraged headline from The Daily Star. The subheadline also reinforced that the author believed the gun was literally five inches, calling it “the length of a toothbrush.”

The only problem? Five-inch guns are named after their caliber, not their length. They shoot munitions that are five inches in diameter, meaning the guns themselves are necessarily huge.

The bombing took place on the Yemeni side of the border close to the Saudi city of Najran, they said. Clashes were also seen in the northwestern Yemeni town of Haradh which borders the kingdom, witnesses told Rooters.

The flare-up in fighting was one of the worst since peace talks began in Kuwait in April between Yemen's government and the Houthis to end a 16-month conflict that has left more than 6,400 people dead, nearly half of them civilians, and displaced more than 2.5 million.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
In financial plight, Hamas hands out former settlement lands
[IsraelTimes] The cash-strapped group is hoping giveaway of Gazoo plots will help appease civil servants owed millions of dollars in salaries.

Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, has begun handing out plots of the land to 40,000 civil servants loyal to the group, to make up for millions of dollars in salaries it owes them for the past two years.

The land giveaway is the latest sign that Hamas is struggling financially after almost a decade of uncontested power in the coastal strip.

Since 2014, Hamas’s main problem has been a dire lack of cash amid Egypt’s clampdown on smuggling tunnels underneath Gazoo’s border with Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula. Before the tunnels closed, Hamas earned millions of dollars from taxes on smuggled consumer goods, including subsidized Egyptian fuel.

Later that same year, Hamas and its rival, the West Bank-based Paleostinian Authority, agreed to form a unity government for both Gazoo and the West Bank. PA President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial...
had lost Gazoo to a Hamas takeover in 2007, and this was an attempt to heal the split.

But the deal stalled, partly because Abbas refused to add the 40,000 employees hired by Hamas since 2007 to the payroll of his Paleostinian Authority. In time, Hamas resorted to paying its loyalists 40% of their salaries at 50 day intervals.

Since March, after Hamas collected additional taxes, these civil servants have been receiving 45% of their salaries on a monthly basis. The price of cigarettes went up 35% and an additional $30 in taxes was imposed on each ton of fruit entering Gazoo from Israel.

The land giveaway allows each group of four Hamas employees to share a 500-square-meter plot that they can either build on or sell. Even the sand collected on the land can be sold for about $100 a truckload.

About 13,000 civil servants have already signed up for certificates attesting to their ownership of the plots. Bulldozers are working to get three initial projects launched in August.

Most of the land once was part of Jewish settlements in southern Gazoo, near the towns of Rafah and Khan Younis. The settlements were demolished when Israel pulled settlers and soldiers from the coastal strip in 2005.

Earlier this week, earth-moving equipment dug into a high hill near Khan Younis, scooping out sand and loading it into trucks at the site designated for the Al-Isra 2 housing project.

Riham Khalil, one of the civil servants, said Hamas owes her NIS 64,000 (about $17,000) in back salaries. Last month, she and three of her colleagues were allocated a 500-square-meter plot in Al-Isra 2.

"We had to accept it on a ’bird in the hand’ basis because there was no cash," she said. "I wish I could find someone to buy the land and get the money."

Senior Hamas official Salah al-Bardawil said the land giveaway is a temporary fix, "not yet a strategic one" that would solve the group’s financial problems for good.

If Abbas had put Hamas employees on his payroll, he would have likely encountered major problems with donor governments, including the United States, suspicious of money ending up in the pockets of Hamas, which much of the West considers a terrorist group.

The Paleostinian Authority opposes the land-for-money program.

"No one has the authority to issue decisions to privatize government-owned land in the public interest, except for President Abbas," said PA front man Jamal Dajani.

He dismissed Hamas’s claims that Abbas has neglected Gazoo. The Paleostinian Authority still pays the monthly salaries of some 70,000 civil servants in Gazoo who are loyal to Abbas and left their posts after the Hamas takeover.

Hamas has been spending some of its new revenue to fund summer camps, where children are exposed to its myrmidon anti-Israeli ideology, or for large communal evening meals known as iftars during the Moslem holy month of Ramadan.

CIA not optimistic about future for unified Syria
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Central Intelligence Agency Director John Brennan said on Friday he was not optimistic about the future of Syria.

"I don’t know whether or not Syria can be put back together again," Brennan told the annual Aspen Security Forum. His comments were a rare public acknowledgement by a top US official that Syria may not survive a five-year civil war in its current state.

A maternity hospital supported by Save the Children was bombed Friday in an air raid in Idlib province of northwest Syria, causing casualties and heavy damage, the Britannia-based charity said.

"Save the Children supported maternity hospital in Idlib bombed, casualties reported - numbers unconfirmed," it tweeted.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also said that the hospital in the rebel-held town of Kafar Takharim was heavily damaged and left barely operational.

The monitoring group did not specify if the raid was carried out by Syrian regime aircraft or warplanes of its Russian allies.

Sayyed Houthi: Yemeni Nation Won’t Surrender
[ENGLISH.ALMANAR.LB] Leader of Yemen's Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen.
Ansarullah movement Sayyed Abdel Malek al-Houthi has called for a "resolution based on justice" to the conflict in the country, saying the nation will not surrender to the demands by the Saudi-backed party to the peace talks.

On Thursday, the Saudi-backed delegation loyal to Yemen's resigned president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, ended the UN-mediated peace negotiations with the Houthi delegation in Kuwait City.

"Our national delegation in Kuwait has presented all possible concessions and what they want from us is to surrender and this is impossible," Sayyed Houthi said in a televised statement on Friday.

"We are ready for a resolution based on justice but we will not surrender."

Ansarullah and its allies said both the Hadi loyalists and the regime in Riyadh lack the political will to promote a diplomatic process aimed at settling the conflict in Yemen.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Sayyed Houthi held the United States responsible for the deadly Saudi aggression against Yemen, describing Riyadh as a tool in the hands of Washington. He reiterated that the Yemeni nation is determinate to confront the campaign.

Sayyed Houthi also stated that the US has returned al-Qaeda to southern Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
after the snuffies were expelled by the Yemeni army and popular committees, adding that the snuffies fight alongside the Saudi forces.

Washington and its regional allies, especially Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, were angry when the Yemeni forces managed to purge several areas of al-Qaeda, he said.

Sayyed Houthi said the United States uses the pretext of fighting terrorism to interfere in the internal affairs of the regional countries.

He said the US seeks fragmentation of Yemen for its own benefit.

Afghanistan
Afghan troops press offensive against ISIS
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] When Afghan troops pushed into Kot, a district close to the border with Pakistain, this week, they found many of the houses empty, with posters plastered on the walls and black flags left by departing ISIS fighters.

Backed by US special forces troops and Arclight airstrikes that authorities say have killed hundreds of ISIS fighters in recent weeks, the Afghan army has launched an offensive against the movement, which is now believed to be confined to three or four districts in eastern Afghanistan.

Afghan commanders said they faced little resistance as they pushed into Kot after a heavy air and artillery bombardment as fighters pulled out into nearby mountain areas.

Has Clinton Written Off Working-Class White Men?
[REALCLEARPOLITICS] The Democratic convention in Philadelphia this week was a shrewdly planned, well-choreographed, star-studded celebration of diversity, inclusion and social justice. A party now dominated by progressives also tried reaching out to moderate or defecting Republicans with decorated veterans, some tough talk on national security and passionate displays of patriotism. But for the white working-class men drawn to Donald Trump ‐ the very voters who were for decades the foundation of the Democratic Party -- the message was clear: We've pretty much given up on you.

The convention, which started on a divisive
...politicians call things divisive when when the other side sez something they don't like. Their own statements are never divisive, they're principled...
and dramatic note with leaked emails showing the Democratic National Committee had favored the candidacy of Hillary Clinton
... sometimes described as America's Blond Eminence and at other times as Mrs. Bill, never as Another James Baker ...
over Sen. Bernie Sanders
...The only openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords...
all along, ended up, by most accounts, a great success. Yet it also illustrated what polling shows ‐ that the ascendant coalition in the Democratic Party of women, young voters and non-whites may no longer find common cause with blue-collar white men.

From the multi-gender bathrooms to the initial speaker lineup Monday of Ivy League graduates to comedian Sarah Silverman referencing her therapist at the podium, the show at times had all the makings of a parody about an elitist party far too focused on identity politics and out of touch with the heartland. At one point there was applause at the mention of the word abortion, a staggering turn-around from the days when Bill Clinton
...former Democratic president of the U.S. Bill was the second U.S. president to be impeached, the first to deny that oral sex was sex, the first to have difficulty with the definition of is...
insisted abortion should be safe, legal and rare.

It didn't help that when asked by PBS, halfway through the convention, about Hillary Clinton's trouble attracting white working-class males, House Minority Leader Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi
Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. Formerly Speaker of the House, but it's not her fault they lost. Really. Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace...
said: "I think so many times white, non-college-educated white males have voted Republican. They voted against their own economic interest because of guns, because of gays, and because of God."

The drift away from rural America, from gun owners and pro-life voters who once found a home with Democrats in spite of some cultural differences, didn't start with Hillary Clinton's candidacy. But a fissure that began with a new coalition then-Sen. Barack Obama
I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody...
built to win election and then re-election, appears in a Trump vs. Clinton race to be nearing a complete separation. Guns and abortion are no longer the flash points that trade policy and immigration have become for white men who believe Democratic policies are responsible for wage stagnation and job loss.

Europe
Bavaria leader rejects Merkel’s ‘we can do this’ refugee mantra
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Bavaria’s premier, whose state bore the brunt of recent attacks in Germany, took aim at Chancellor Angela Merkel
...current chancellor of Germany. She was educated in East Germany when is was still run by commies, but in 1989 got involved with the growing democracy movement when the Berlin Wall fell. Merkel is sometimes referred to by Germans as Mom...
’s open-door refugee policy on Saturday by rejecting her "we can do this" mantra.

The comments from Horst Seehofer, whose Christian Social Union is the Bavarian sister party of Merkel’s conservatives, exacerbate the chancellor’s difficulty in standing by a policy that her critics have blamed for the attacks and which risks undermining her popularity before federal elections next year.

"’We can do this’ - I cannot, with the best will, adopt this phrase as my own," Seehofer told news hounds after a meeting of his party.

Five attacks in Germany since July 18 have left 15 people dead, including four assailants, and dozens injured. Two of the attackers had links to Islamist militancy, officials say. Germany is wrestling with how to respond.

Jens Spahn, deputy finance minister and a senior member of Merkel’s conservatives, said that integrating the refugees was a Herculean task but the government needed to put more pressure on those new arrivals unwilling to make an effort to fit in.

"A ban on the full body veil - that is the niqab and the burka - is overdue," he told daily Die Welt. "My impression is that we all underestimated a year ago what would come upon us with this big refugee and migration movement."

Over a million migrants colonists have entered Germany in the past year, many fleeing war in Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq.

In an editorial, magazine Der Spiegel noted that the government of Helmut Schmidt, who served as chancellor from 1974 to 1982, toughened laws to combat the ultra-leftist Red Army Faction, which attacked the political and business elite, but added: "the turbans nonetheless carried on bombing."

The comments from Seehofer, who said following the latest attacks that "all our predictions have been proven right", came after Merkel on Thursday defiantly repeated "we can do this" and vowed not to bend her refugee policy.

"The problem is too big for that and the attempts at a solution thus far too unsatisfactory," said Seehofer. "Restrictions on immigration are a condition for security in this country."

Merkel on Thursday set out a nine-point plan to respond to the attacks, including an early warning system for the radicalization of refugees.

She faced criticism on social media after failing to react until the next day to the bloodiest of the attacks, in Munich, where an 18-year-old German-Iranian gunman killed nine people.

ISIS teen who killed priest passed background check for airport job
[NYPOST] The bloodthirsty jihadist who executed a Catholic priest in La Belle France "easily" passed a background check to become an airport baggage handler, according to a report.

Abdel Malik Petitjean, 19, worked full time at Chambéry Airport in the Savoie region, which is used by more than 250,000 passengers a year, until just three months ago, the Evening Standard reported. He began working at the airport as a porter in December after completing his studies at the Lycée Marlioz, a high school in his hometown of Aix-les-Bains.

"Petitjean had no trouble getting through a police investigation and psychological evaluation," a source told the paper.

"He was considered to be a hard-working, friendly young man who did not pose any danger to passengers or others using the airport. He got through the police investigation easily," the source said.

The ISIS wannabe, who left the airport in April, was spotted by Turkish intelligence officials on June 10 as he tried to reach Syria to join the terror group. He returned to La Belle France June 11 for reasons that remain unclear and was put on a terror watch list on June 29, authorities said.
They didn't pull his clearance then...
On July 22, four days before Petitjean and Adel Kermiche, 19, butchered Rev. Jacques Hamel, 85, in a Normandy church, French anti-terror police released a photograph of an unidentified man believed to be planning a strike. The man turned out to be Petitjean, officials said.

Bangladesh
5 top Bangla militants may be hiding in India
[Dhaka Tribune] At least five listed Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh
The JMB is said to be the youth front of Al Mujahideen, the parent organization that began working toward establishing Bangladesh as an Islamic state in the mid 1990s which remains obscure even today. Other organizations, such as Jama'atul Jihad, JMB, Jagrata Muslim Janata Bangladesh (JMJB), Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami (HUJI), Hizbut Tawhid, Tawhidi Janata, Islami Jubo Shangha, Islami Shangha, Al Falah A'am Unnayan Shanstha and Shahadat-e al Hiqma are believed to be part of the Al Mujahideen network. The JMB at its peak was reported to contain at least 100,000 members, and an alleged 2,000-man suicide brigade, few of whom actually exploded. JMB allegedly received financial assistance from individual donors in Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Libya. Reports have claimed that funding of JMB by international NGOs like Kuwait based Society of the Revival of Islamic Heritage (RIHS) and Doulatul Kuwait, Saudi Arabia based Al Haramaine Islamic Institute and Rabita Al Alam Al Islami, Qatar Charitable Society and UAE-based Al Fuzaira and Khairul Ansar Al Khairia. The top leadership of JMB was captured in 2005 and hung in 2007, which pretty much shot their bolt.
(JMB) turbans, including the criminal mastermind of Gulshan terror attack which claimed 24 lives, is suspected to be hiding in India, reports the Times of India.

One of them is Tamim Ahmed Chowdhury, a native of Sylhet and a former expatriate in Canada who is believed to be the coordinator of Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS) in the country, said the report published on Friday.

The other four are Junoon Sikdar, Najibullah Ansari, ATM Tajuddin and Bangladesh-born Japanese citizen Mohammad Saifulla Ojaki.

According to the Times of India, the quintet may have entered the Indian territory by crossing "the mostly non-existent border."

They are among the 68 individuals whose names were disclosed by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) as missing persons a few days ago. The list contains individuals aging between 15 and 40 years who have been suspiciously missing since 2011.

According to sources, Tamim, who is also known as Abu Ibrahim al-Hanif, left Canada in 2013 and could not traced after that. His interview appeared in the June 2016 issue of Dabiq ‐ the propaganda magazine published by IS.

Junoon, who is originally from Comilla and was a computer science student in a private university in Dhaka, was tossed in the clink
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
by police in 2009 under the Anti-Terrorism Act.

He was again arrested in 2013 for his alleged links with Ansarullah Bangla Team, the offshoot of the al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent. A known recruiter of the jihadi group, he was later released on bail and left for Malaysia.

Najibullah, a native of Chapainawabganj, went to Malaysia to study marine engineering. Last year, his father filed a general diary with Chittagong police after Nazibullah wrote to his brother that he had decided to join IS and move to Iraq.

Tajuddin, who was studying computer engineering at a US-based university, went missing in 2013. A general diary was filed with Lakshmipur Sadar cop shoppe earlier this month.

Ojaki, alias Sujit Debnath, a professor of business administration at Asia Pacific University, Japan, has been missing for a year. His father Janardan Debnath filed a general diary in this regard in Nabinagar.

The Times of India also reported that Assam police busted a JMB camp two months ago in Chirang district, which was used for training local youths.

UNICEF Resumes Aid to NE Nigeria after Convoy Attack
[ENGLISH.ALMANAR.LB] UNICEF will continue to provide assistance to millions of conflict-affected children in northeast Nigeria

Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
turbans, the UN children's agency has said.

The Takfiris ambushed a humanitarian convoy that included workers from UNICEF, UNFPA, and IOM while returning from Bama in northeast Borno state on Thursday, injuring several people, including two soldiers, and prompting UNICEF to temporarily suspend relief assistance to review the situation.

"We are working at full strength in the Borno state capital Maiduguri," UNICEF Nigeria Representative Jean Gough said in a statement late Friday.

"We continue to call for increased efforts to reach people in desperate need across the state. We cannot let this heartless attack divert any of us from reaching the more than two million people who are in dire need of immediate humanitarian assistance."

The agency urged donors and humanitarian organizations to scale-up the response to the emerging disaster in Borno state, the epicenter of Boko Haram's seven-year insurgency.

"The violence has disrupted farming and markets, destroyed food stocks, and damaged or destroyed health and water facilities. We absolutely have to reach more of these communities," he said.

UNICEF estimates that 244,000 children will suffer from severe acute malnutrition this year in Borno state alone. And if they are not reached with treatment, one in five of them will die.

The Grand Turk
Erdogan to West: ’Mind Your Own Business’
[ENGLISH.ALMANAR.LB] Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
on Friday told the EU and US to "mind your own business" after the West expressed alarm over the growing crackdown against suspected coup plotters, as a court placed 17 journalists under arrest.

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
has detained more than 18,000 people over the coup which Ankara blames on the US-based preacher Fethullah Gulen, with the relentless crackdown sparking warnings from Brussels that its EU membership bid may be in danger.Erdogan

"Some people give us advice. They say they are worried. Mind your own business! Look at your own deeds," Erdogan said in a speech at his presidential palace.

"Not a single person has come to give condolences either from the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
... or from the West," said Erdogan.

"And then they say that 'Erdogan has got so angry'!" he fumed.

"Those countries or leaders who are not worried about Turkey's democracy, the lives of our people, its future -- while being so worried about the fate of the putschists -- cannot be our friends."

Erdogan vowed to take all steps "within the limits of the law" as Turkey seeks legal retribution for the perpetrators of the coup.

A Turkish official said 3,500 of those detained have now been released after questioning.

EU enlargement commissioner Johannes Hahn said he needed to see "black-and-white facts about how these people are treated".

"And if there is even the slightest doubt that the (treatment) is improper, then the consequences will be inevitable," he told German daily Sueddeutsche Zeitung.

Turkey has also targeted journalists accused of links to Gulen, causing further international alarm.

Twenty-one detained suspects Friday appeared in front of a judge in Istanbul to decide whether to remand them in jug.

After a hearing lasting to midnight, four were freed but 17 placed under arrest ahead of trial, charged with "membership of a terror group", the state-run Anadolu news agency said.

Those held include the veteran journalist Nazli Ilicak as well as the former correspondent for the pro-Gulen Zaman daily Hanim Busra Erdal, it added.

35 Kurd kommies die in attack on Turkish base
Live to fight another day: Not found in Kurd Kommie parlance
Turkey’s army foiled a Kurdish attempt to storm a base in the southeastern Hakkari province early on Saturday, killing 35 militants, military officials said. The militants attempted to take the base in three different groups, but were spotted by aerial reconnaissance. An air operation was launched, killing 23 of them, the officials said.

Four more were then killed in a ground operation, they said.

The remaining eight were killed hours before in clashes in Hakkari’s Cukurca between soldiers and militants from the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), the officials said.

The soldiers were performing a security check when they were attacked by militants from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) late Friday.

Friday’s clashes in Cukurca also left 25 soldiers wounded, the officials said.

Tunisian lawmakers hold no-confidence vote, PM under threat
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Tunisia’s parliament is holding a no-confidence vote that is expected to decide the fate of technocratic Prime Minister Habib Essid.

The odds are stacked against Essid, who has been criticized by both the four-party ruling coalition and Tunisia’s opposition. Essid himself appears resigned to a negative outcome. While defending his record, Essid told politicians on Saturday that he was "not attached to this job."

Essid’s authority has suffered amid continuing economic and social problems in the North African nation, the only country to successfully transition to a parliamentary democracy following the uprisings that rocked the Arab world in 2011.

Essid’s position has also been undermined by political maneuvering within Tunisia’s ruling party, Nida Tounis, and pressure from the country’s president, Beji Caid Essebsi.

The Grand Turk
‘Big risk’ of EU-Turkey migrant deal collapsing
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] European Commission head Jean-Claude Juncker said that the EU’s deal with The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
on halting the flow of migrants colonists towards the bloc is at risk of breaking down, in comments published Friday.

"The risk is big. The success so far of the pact is fragile. President (Recep Tayyip) Erdogan has already hinted several times that he wants to scrap it," Juncker told Austrian daily Kurier.

"(If that happens) then we can expect migrants colonists to start coming to Europe again," he told the paper in an interview to be published on Saturday.

The March accord between the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
and Turkey succeeded in stemming the flow of migrants colonists but there are concerns that it could fall apart after a failed coup against Erdogan on July 15.

A subsequent purge in Turkey has seen thousands of arrests among the army, the police and judiciary, and hundreds have lost their jobs in every major Turkish ministry.

Three days after the attempt on the government, a group of Turkish officials assigned to monitor the migration deal on the Greek side returned home, and have yet to be replaced.

In a wide-ranging interview, Juncker also said he was "very concerned" about developments within the 28-nation EU, particularly with regard to Poland and Hungary.

"In Poland the government’s course of action has damaged the rule of law... I am watching with concern preparations for Hungary’s referendum on migration," Juncker was quoted as saying.

On Wednesday the European Commission handed Poland’s right-wing government a three-month deadline to reverse changes to its Constitutional Court or face sanctions for breaching EU norms on the rule of law and democracy.

The move by the EU’s executive arm is the second step in an unprecedented procedure which could eventually see Warsaw’s voting rights suspended in the Council of Ministers, the EU’s highest decision-making body.

Hungary meanwhile has refused to accept a single migrant under a mandatory EU quota plan to share them around the bloc, and will hold a referendum on the scheme on October 2.

Right-wing Prime Minister Viktor Orban this week called migration "poison" for Europe and said that his country "does not need a single migrant."

"If referendums are going to be organized on every decision of the Council of Ministers and the European Parliament, then legal security is in danger," Juncker said.

"The Commission should really -- although we’re not that far yet -- launch a breach of treaty procedure against Hungary. Mr. Orban though would then claim that the Commission is taking the Hungarian people to court."

Saudi-led coalition denies blockading Yemeni territories
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The Saudi-led coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen

and aid groups that it was blocking access to the war-ravaged country, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

In a statement issued on Friday, the coalition voiced deep regret over media reports quoting NGOs such as Doctors Without Borders and Amnesia Amnesty International, saying such reports only contribute to weakening the coalition’s "positive role" in the delivery of humanitarian aid and facilitating the distribution of relief supplies, including petroleum products, among Yemenis.

The statement said the coalition has not imposed any blockade on any Yemeni territory or has not started an economic boycott of any kind. "What it does is performing duties with regard to implementing the United Nations

resolutions aimed at preventing smuggling of arms and ammunition," the statement said, pointing out that the coalition had given priority to health situation in Yemen while starting the Restoration of Hope campaign in Yemen. "It spared no efforts to improve the overall health condition in the country, the latest of which was the air drop of more than 40 tons of medical supplies to the city of Taiz and then transporting them to hospitals by making use of all available means, including animals."

The statement added that the coalition forces, in cooperation with the Djibouti-based UN Verification and Inspection Mechanism for Yemen (UNVIM), exerted every effort to facilitate transportation of humanitarian aid as well as commercial goods and petroleum products to all sections of the Yemeni people without discrimination. A total of 4,079 permits have been issued to all entry points in this regard.

The coalition forces have issued permits to all ships engaged in relief and humanitarian missions without any delay or inspections at the Yemeni ports.

Regarding fat merchantmen, UNVIM, in cooperation with the coalition forces and the legitimate government, issues permits at all Yemeni ports without discrimination.

The number of permits issued so far reached 1,462 and these include Hodeidah port controlled by the militias.

The coalition emphasized that the humanitarian disaster in Yemen is not because of any blockade on the shipment of food, petroleum products or commercial goods, but is primarily because of rebel forces who occupy the state machinery and manipulate all ports entry, notably the Hodeidah port, which has become a haven for smugglers.

"The militias try to create a black market in Hodeidah port for petroleum products and relief and trade materials to finance their coup as well as for personal gains of its leaders. They used it for political bargaining by imposing a siege and pursuing a policy of systematic starvation in provinces and cities like Taiz," the statement said.

The coalition called on international bodies operating in Yemen to shoulder their responsibilities toward meeting urgent humanitarian needs of the Yemeni people, in addition to taking necessary measures to ensure that the aid reaches all areas of Yemen in a fair and equal proportion.

It also issued an urgent call to lift the blockade on areas besieged by the forces loyal to the coup leaders and called upon all organizations to verify the facts on the ground before making statements to the media.
