Former Trump Campaign Adviser Identified In Dossier Sues Yahoo! News
[Daily Caller] Carter Page, a former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser, filed a defamation lawsuit against the parent company of Yahoo! News and The Huffington Post on Thursday over articles published alleging collusion with the Kremlin last year.

The focus of the suit, filed in the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of New York against Yahoo’s parent, Oath Inc., is a Sept. 23, 2016, article published by veteran political reporter Michael Isikoff.

The core allegations in the article appear to have been provided to Isikoff by Christopher Steele, the former British spy who authored the now-infamous Trump dossier.

The article, entitled "U.S. Intel Officials Probe Ties Between Trump Adviser and Kremlin," stated that U.S. intelligence officials were "seeking to determine whether an American businessman identified by Donald Trump as one of his foreign policy advisers has opened up private communications with senior Russian officials."

Isikoff’s report cited intelligence reports that had been shared with U.S. officials which alleged that Page met in Moscow last July with Page met with Igor Sechin, an associate of Vladimir Putin’s and the CEO of Russian oil giant, Rosneft, and another Putin aide named Igor Diveykin.

Isikoff’s sources said that Page, who did travel to Moscow at that time to give a commencement speech at the New Economic School, may have discussed the removal of sanctions with Sechin and Diveykin.

Judicial Watch: New Clinton Emails Uncovered, Reveal Additional Mishandling of Classified Information
[Judicial Watch] Washington, DC ‐ Judicial Watch today released 1,617 new pages of documents from the U.S. Department of State revealing numerous additional examples of classified information being transmitted through the unsecure, non-state.gov account of Huma Abedin, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s deputy chief of staff, as well as many instances of Hillary Clinton donors receiving special favors from the State Department.

The documents included 97 email exchanges with Clinton not previously turned over to the State Department, bringing the known total to date to at least 627 emails that were not part of the 55,000 pages of emails that Clinton turned over, and further contradicting a statement by Clinton that, "as far as she knew," all of her government emails had been turned over to department.

The emails are the 20th production of documents obtained in response to a court order in a May 5, 2015, lawsuit Judicial Watch filed against the State Department (Judicial Watch, Inc. v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:15-cv-00684)). Judicial Watch sued after State failed to respond to a March 18, 2015, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request seeking: "All emails of official State Department business received or sent by former Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin from January 1, 2009 through February 1, 2013 using a non-’state.gov’ email address."

On September 11, 2009, the highly sensitive name and email address of the person giving the classified Presidential Daily Brief was included in an email forwarded to Abedin’s unsecure email account by State Department official Dan Fogerty.

The State Department produced many more Clinton and Abedin unsecured emails that were classified:

NKor's Nuke Test Site: Sats Shows New Activity in Alternate Tunnel Portal Areas
[38North] Imagery from September 8 also shows a large tractor/trailer cargo truck in the South Portal Area for the first time, and mining carts and other equipment are present outside the West Portal. Such activity, coming shortly after the largest underground nuclear test conducted at Punggye-ri to date (via the North Portal), suggests that onsite work could now be changing focus to further prepare those other portals for future underground nuclear testing.

Revised Magnitude Estimates Raise the Equivalent Yield to Approximately One Quarter of a Megaton

At the time of 38 North’s first report on the sixth nuclear test, the preliminary seismic magnitude estimates varied from 5.8, as published by both the CTBTO and NORSAR, to 6.3 by the United States Geological Survey (USGS). More recently, both the CTBTO and NORSAR have officially revised their estimates upward to 6.1. This revision is significant because, rather than providing an equivalent yield of about 120 kilotons derived from the lower magnitude estimates, the application of standard formula with appropriate constants shows that the yield can now be estimated to have been roughly 250 kilotons (one quarter megaton). This large explosive yield is also quite close to what 38 North had previously determined to be the maximum estimated containable yield for the Punggye-ri test site.

Caribbean-Latin America
Russia, China Playing Major Role in Keeping Venezuela Afloat
[FreeBeacon] The countries 'have provided capital, goods, services, and political backing'

Russia and China have played a major role in keeping the dictatorial Maduro regime in Venezuela afloat, according to expert testimony before the House Foreign Affairs Committee Wednesday.

Evan Ellis, a senior associate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and a professor at the U.S. Army War College, appeared before the Western Hemisphere subcommittee of the Foreign Affairs Committee for a hearing on the malicious influence of state and criminal actors in the Latin American nation's ongoing breakdown.

"I would like to emphasize how both Russia and China, in the pursuit of their commercial and strategic interests in Venezuela, have provided capital, goods, services, and political backing that has indirectly enabled the populist regime to ignore and ultimately destroy the mechanisms of democratic accountability," Ellis began his testimony.

Venezuela has been wracked by a social and economic crisis in recent years, driven in large part by clashes between the government of President Nicolás Maduro's United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and the opposition-controlled National Assembly. The struggle has seen the dissolution of the Parliament and the subsequent creation of a Constitutional Assembly in an election that U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley called a "sham." There have been numerous, bloody street protests, with more than 100 dead in connection with anti-government demonstrations. The Trump administration has sanctioned Venezuela and Maduro himself.

This political turmoil may be further exacerbated by the possibility of a credit default by PDVSA (Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A.), Venezuela's state-owned petroleum firm. Venezuela has the largest oil reserves in the world, and the Venezuelan economy relies on oil for 95 percent of export revenues; PDVSA also provides substantial revenue to the current government. Rumors have circulated for months about a PDVSA default, which would plunge the government into a financial crisis that could result in the collapse of an already unsteady regime.

Amid the crisis, both Russia and China have established serious leverage over Venezuela. China, which Ellis ranks as the more involved of the pair, is now Venezuela's principal banker, and has been since August 2014. Venezuela also stores a portion of its gold reserves in China. Additionally, China represents a "major source of credit" for Venezuela, Ellis said, to the tune of 62.2 billion dollars since 2005. Those loans are mostly repaid in shipments of oil.

"As the majority of international companies have withdrawn from Venezuela, the work performed by Chinese entities funded by such credit has become increasingly critical for building and maintaining the oil, electricity, and transportation infrastructure to get Venezuela's oil to market," Ellis explained. He noted that China had just handed another 2.7 billion dollars to Venezuela in the form of further infrastructure projects, including a new Chinese oil refinery.

China has also supplanted Russia as the top provider of arms to Venezuela, billions of dollars worth of deals extended mostly on credit.

Russia's presence in Venezuela ranks below China's, but is "significant" in Ellis's estimation. It has sold over $11 billion in military hardware to Venezuela since 2006, and used Venezuela as a basis for military power projection in Latin America, including the deployment of several nuclear capable Tu-160 Backfire bombers there.

Russia is also tied up in Venezuela's oil economy. Rosneft, a Russian state-owned oil company, has provided $17 billion dollars to PDVSA since 2008, including six billion dollars during the current liquidity crisis. In 2016, Rosneft traded $1.5 billion dollars in loans for a 49 percent stake in PDVSA subsidiary Citgo.

All of this assistance from Russia and China effectively shores up the stability of the Maduro regime, Ellis said.

Ellis said that neither Russia nor China is particularly opposed to the collapse of the Maduro regime, assuming that it would create a vacuum into which an even more anti-U.S., pro-Russia and China actor could enter.

"I believe that Russia and China as much as everyone else wants a transition away from the Maduro regime," Ellis explained. "But what they want to transition to is very different. I believe that they are hoping they can get a transition to an equally anti-U.S. authoritarian regime that will let them legally legitimize their holdings."

While their involvements in Venezuela may pose a political and military threat to the United States, Russia and China's entanglement in the teetering Maduro regime also provides insight into the appropriate diplomatic and sanction strategy for the U.S. to adopt. Ellis was bullish on the prospect of further sanctions, targeted at PDVSA, which would severely challenge the government's ability to continue to service the ballooning debt that China and Russia have used to keep it afloat.

"I actually believe that we are at a unique moment where, although oftentimes sanctions are not effective, sanctions may have a particular opportunity to be effective in this case, specifically because PDVSA is at the brink of a cascading liquidity crisis," he said.

U.S. sanctions have forced the Maduro government to prioritize servicing its debt, as those sanctions have limited Venezuela's ability to restructure, according to Bloomberg. However, Bloomberg estimates that the likelihood of a Venezuelan default over the next 12 months has declined from 65 to 61 percent.

They're implementing 14th century mercantilism worldwide with the US as the designated mark/patsy, all the while saying (depending on who they think the audience is) they're fighting the Bankers, the 1%, the Globalists... (while they're instituting a globalist system, no less!) and pretending they're nationalists at the same time.

Here's a reminder of what they've done in Venezuela in the past...

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/wikileaks-china-reselling-chavezs-cheap-oil/

President Hugo Chavez's government has sold China oil for as little as $5 a barrel and was upset that China apparently profited by selling fuel to other countries, according to a classified U.S. document released by WikiLeaks.
The report about Chinese companies diverting oil was one of several newly released documents that also describe falling crude output in Venezuela caused by a host of problems within the national oil company Petroleos de Venezuela SA, or PDVSA.

The documents, posted online Monday by the Spanish newspaper El Pais, also showed that American officials have managed to cultivate sources within the state oil company in spite of Chavez's antagonism toward Washington.

The confidential memo from the U.S. Embassy in Caracas on Feb. 26 said a PDVSA director revealed that the state company "had analyzed its crude sales to China and determined that China had only paid $5/barrel of crude on a couple of deals" - a small fraction of the market price.

Gowdy: ‘I've Seen With My Own Eyes' Comey Decided On Clinton Exoneration Before Interviewing Her
[Free Beacon] Rep. Trey Gowdy (R., S.C.) slammed former FBI director James Comey on Thursday for "making up his mind" not to charge Hillary Clinton before the investigation into her handling of classified information was complete.

Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa) and Judiciary subcommittee chairman Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.) sent a letter to current FBI director Chris Wray in late August in order to address Comey's actions and collect additional information. The Senate Judiciary Committee had learned, through transcripts of interviews with top Comey aides, that the FBI director drafted a memo exonerating the former secretary of state before the FBI interviewed Clinton and other key witnesses as part of the investigation. The senators called Comey's actions "no way to run an investigation."

Fox News host Bill Hemmer asked Gowdy Thursday whether he agreed with White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders' Tuesday comments, where she said Comey's actions "were improper and likely could have been illegal."

"Well Bill, if it's that clean and clear, I'm sure she's referred it to the Department of Justice. After all, President Trump handpicked Jeff Sessions to be his attorney general, so if the evidence is as clear as the press secretary says it is, I'm sure that matter is already in Jeff Sessions' office," Gowdy said.

Hemmer quoted Sanders' follow-up statement, which said, "The Department of Justice has to look at any allegations about whether or not something is illegal or not. That's not up for me to decide." He then asked Gowdy whether he knows if she referred anything of the sort to the Department of Justice.

MP Anna Soubry: If White British Community Learned More From Muslims Then UK Would Be A Better Country
[HUFFPOO] If white Britons learned more from the Muslim community the UK would be a better country, according to Conservative MP Anna Soubry.

Speaking at an Eid-ul-Adha celebration event in Parliament, the former minister praised the success of Halimah Khaled - the first person of colour and first Muslim to be elected mayor in her Nottinghamshire constituency- and said lessons could be learned from her positive engagement with the largely white community.

″I can report happily that it is not a problem," she told the event, organised by charity Human Appeal.

″She is British through and through and she happens to be a Muslim, and she is proud of her faith, and rightly so.

"And my goodness me, she and members of her community could teach many white British people many a good thing. And if my community, such as as it is, learned more from your community, this country would be a better country."

The ambulance sevrice says it was called at 8:30 a.m. Friday and the first crews were on the scene within five minutes.

The mayor of London says the city "will never be intimidated or defeated by terrorism."

Sadiq Khan says the city "utterly condemns the hideous individuals who attempt to use terror to harm us and destroy our way of life."

He says Londoners should remain "calm and vigilant" after a fire on a subway train that police are calling a terrorism incident.

London has been targeted by attackers several times this year, with vehicle attacks near Parliament, on London Bridge and near a mosque in Finsbury Park in north London.

Khan says he will be attending a meeting of the government’s COBRA emergency committee with Prime Minister Theresa May later.
Update at 10:25 a.m. ET:
2:45 p.m.

Terrorism analyst Magnus Ranstorp with the Swedish Defense University says Londoners have been very fortunate because the bomb placed on a subway appears not to have fully detonated.

After studying photos of the device, he said Friday the bomb had only “partially” burned since much of the device and its casing remained intact. He said that will make it easy for police and security services to determine what chemicals and methods were used to make the bomb.

He says “they were really lucky with this one, it could have really become much worse.”

He said the bomber chose to conceal the device in a bucket and a plastic shopping bag rather than a backpack. He also says, from the photos, “it seems that this was hastily put together. Probably not very well mixed together.”

In all, 22 people were wounded by the bomb on Friday.
Besoeker's BBC liveblog has a photo of the bomb at 8:13 -- scroll down.

Mnuchin: I would have paid for government plane myself
[The Hill] Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said Thursday that he would have personally paid for the use of a government jet for his honeymoon, following a report that he had requested the use of such a plane in order to have secure communications.

"I didn't use a government plane on my honeymoon, and if I had I would have paid for it myself. #FakeNews," Mnuchin wrote on Twitter.

Mnuchin earlier Thursday defended his request to use a government plane for his honeymoon in June, saying "this had nothing to do with convenience. This was purely about national security."

Mnuchin, who is a member of the National Security Council and oversees the Treasury Department's Office of Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, claimed that the story was "misreported" by the media.

The Office of the Inspector General in the Treasury Department is investigating the request for an Air Force jet for a European honeymoon with Mnuchin's wife Louise Linton, ABC News reported earlier this week.

Mnuchin and his wife are facing a similar inquiry from the inspector general for an August trip to Fort Knox in Kentucky, looking into whether the two used government resources to view the total solar eclipse.

Crocodile Rock Lagoon Claims Life of Oxford University Graduate
[SUN] A Financial Times journalist was killed by a crocodile while washing his hands at a lagoon in Sri Lanka during a holiday with pals.

Paul McClean, 25, an Oxford University graduate, is understood to have wandered away from his group of friends to find a toilet when he was attacked.

The British victim, from Surrey, was seen "waving his hands in the air" in desperation before being dragged under water at a lagoon called Crocodile Rock near Arugam Bay.

McClean graduated from Oxford with a First Class Honors degree in French in 2015 before joining the Financial Times later that year.

He had covered Brexit and the EU for the newspaper and had recently returned to London after living in Brussels for a couple of months.

The lagoon, known to be crawling with crocodiles, is yards away from popular surf spot Elephant Rock near Arugam Bay on the southeast coast.

Mystery of sonic weapon attacks at US embassy in Cuba deepens
[Guardian] At least some of the incidents were confined to certain rooms with laser-like specificity, and some victims now have problems recalling specific words.
Pictured here, IDF Scream-II with left brain/right brain subwoofers disguised as diplomatic security arms room ammo can.
The blaring, grinding noise jolted the American diplomat from his bed in a Havana hotel. He moved just a few feet, and there was silence. He climbed back into bed. Inexplicably, the agonizing sound hit him again. It was as if he’d walked through some invisible wall cutting straight through his room.

Soon came the hearing loss, and the speech problems, symptoms both similar and altogether different from others among at least 21 US victims in an astonishing international mystery still unfolding in Cuba. The top US diplomat has called them "health attacks".

New details learned by the Associated Press indicate at least some of the incidents were confined to specific rooms or even parts of rooms with laser-like specificity, baffling US officials who say the facts and the physics don’t add up.

"None of this has a reasonable explanation," said Fulton Armstrong, a former CIA official who served in Havana long before America re-opened an embassy there. "It’s just mystery after mystery after mystery."
I'm, I'm, I'm incredulized. To borrow a phrase, a virtual 'riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma.'

Second article, same topic - [Guardian] Botched surveillance job may have led to strange injuries at US embassy in Cuba.

BLUF: John Sipher, who spent 28 years in the CIA’s National Clandestine Service, argued that while direct targeting of US diplomats is rare, unintended harm caused by surveillance efforts that go wrong are much more common.
Lucky for John, he can still remember.
"These efforts, while designed to further surveillance and eavesdropping and not to cause malicious damage, nevertheless risked or resulted in residual physical harm to US diplomats," Sipher said in a commentary on the Just Security website.

Sonic weapons are being developed by security forces around the world. The Israeli defence forces have a vehicle-mounted blaster called The Scream, while cruise ships have adopted a military grade "sound cannons" to project deafening noise over 300 metres to defend against possible pirate attacks.

However, such weapons have an immediate, crippling effect. Whatever has happened in Havana appears to have crept up on its victims more gradually and subtly.

#1  Muted U.S. Government outrage? Except for the Guardian, media non-play.
Nothing much if anything from Congressional Intelligence Committees. Much yawning, and discussion topic changing you say ?

Limited to certain rooms? While Cuban technology is impressive (note the numerous 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air's still poking about). Could it possibly be that our own "botched surveillance" or.... counter-surveillance systems are responsible ?

Just thinking outside the transmitter box. Perhaps we too, should change the topic of discussion, or no ?

#4  Easy to make, just get two or more directional tweeters and feed some amplified high frequency signals to them. Where the sounds cross paths, you get the annoying sounds as described, If you're in a single sound path, you hear nothing.

Good trick if you're in a museum, stand in front of an object and you'll hear narration about said object, move on to the next one and the old narration fade out and a new onw fade in.

It's a little tricky to insure proper out of phasing so as not to mix up the narrations, but satisfying whe it all works.

1) Are others outside the embassy effected?
2) Does the embassy sit in the path of the AT&T microwave crossing the city?
3) Any measurable EMF from local high tension power lines?

I wouldn't be surprised if the cheap chinese surge protectors were decaying from transients and creating secondary effects.

American Fighting for ISIS ‘Surrenders'
[Daily Beest] The U.S. military confirmed a Daily Beast report Thursday that an American fighting in Syria for the so-called Islamic State has been taken into custody.

"The U.S. citizen is being legally detained by Department of Defense personnel as a known enemy combatant," Pentagon spokesman Eric Pahon said.

A source familiar with the situation told The Daily Beast earlier that the American was captured by Kurdish forces. Other military spokespeople indicated that the fighter "surrendered" on or around Tuesday.

In either case, the detention of an American fighting for ISIS on an active battlefield would set up a major decision for Donald Trump about the future of wartime captures.

According to The Daily Beast’s source, the U.S. citizen was initially taken into custody by the Syrian Democratic Forces, the mostly Kurdish local proxy that the American military is using to fight ISIS on the ground in Syria. That source said the Kurds then turned the captive over to American forces. It is not clear where the American is currently being held, nor if the International Committee of the Red Cross has had access to him.

Security forces seize cash bound for teen terrorist’s family
[IsraelTimes] IDF says Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, funds likely earmarked for rebuilding home of Morad Adais, demolished after he stabbed Dafna Meir to death

Israeli security forces seized tens of thousands of shekels early Thursday in the area of the southern West Bank village of Yatta, saying the money was destined for the family of a Paleostinian teenager who stabbed an Israeli woman to death in her West Bank home.

The Israel Defense Forces said NIS 48,000 ($13,500) from the Hamas terror group was likely meant to rebuild the family house of Morad Bader Abdullah Adais in Yatta, destroyed by Israel after Adais killed Dafna Meir at the entrance to her home in the nearby settlement of Otniel.

Adais was 16-years-old at the time of the January 2016 stabbing.

He waited for Meir, a mother of six, to come out of her front door and then attacked her, "plunging the knife into her stomach," according to his indictment. He then tried to retrieve the weapon in order to attack Meir’s children, who were inside, but Meir wrestled with him and prevented him from doing so, forcing him to flee the scene.

Meir was critically maimed and later died of her injuries.

According to the charge sheet, after fleeing Otniel, Adais returned home, washed the blood off his arms, and watched a movie with his family. Following his capture, a military court convicted Adais and sentenced him to life imprisonment for a murder perpetrated "with abnormal cruelty and in cold blood."

Also overnight, security forces confiscated thousands of shekels in nearby Hebron that the army said belonged to an unauthorized charity with ties to Hamas.

The IDF said the twin operations were meant to dry up funding for terror attacks and the families of terrorists.

Separately, eight Paleostinians were nabbed
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
during raids through the West Bank early Thursday, five of them for violent rioting and "popular terrorism," a catch-all term for rock throwing and violent protests.

The source informed that Russia has set up a monitoring and control center in the city of Mahredah, in addition to deploying its forces in Taibet al-Imam city, the recently-captured city by Syrian regime forces.

It is noteworthy that the Russian forces evacuated its camp, located east of Souran city in the countryside of Hama, two days ago, and moved the troops near the town of Maardes.

The Russian forces also called the people of Souran to evacuate the city, after returning to the town a month ago

Iranians among 74 Dead in Iraq Attacks Claimed by IS
[AnNahar] Gunmen and suicide boom-mobileers on Thursday killed at least 74 people, including Iranians, near the southern Iraqi city of Nasiriyah, in an attack claimed by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group.

The attackers struck at midday, opening fire on a restaurant before getting into a car and blowing themselves up at a nearby security checkpoint, officials said.

Abdel Hussein al-Jabri, deputy health chief for the mainly Shiite province of Dhiqar, said at least 74 people had died, including seven Iranians, and another 93 people were maimed.

That was up from the previous toll of 52 dead and 91 maimed in what was already the deadliest IS attack in Iraq since pro-government forces drove the jihadists out of second city djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
in July.

Security sources said the attackers were disguised as members of the Hashed al-Shaabi, a mainly Shiite paramilitary alliance which has fought alongside the army and police against IS in northern Iraq.

Rescue workers and members of the security forces placed bodies in ambulances and cleared away rubble and the carcasses of burnt-out cars from the site.

Burned bodies and vehicles including buses and trucks testified to the violence of the attack. Shelters built of corrugated metal were reduced to scraps of metal, twisted by heat.

The area targeted is on a highway used by Shiite pilgrims and visitors from neighboring Iran to travel to the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala further north, although Dhiqar has previously been spared the worst of Iraq's violence.

- IS claim -
IS grabbed credit for the attacks in a statement carried by its Amaq propaganda arm.

It said several jacket wallahs had staged the assault on a restaurant and a security checkpoint, killing "dozens of Shiites."

North Korea threatens to reduce US to ‘ashes and darkness’
[NYPOST] A North Korean state agency threatened on Thursday to use nuclear weapons to "sink" Japan and reduce the United States to "ashes and darkness" for supporting a U.N. Security Council resolution and sanctions over its latest nuclear test.

The Korea Asia-Pacific Peace Committee, which handles the North’s external ties and propaganda, also called for the breakup of the Security Council, which it called "a tool of evil" made up of "money-bribed" countries that move at the order of the United States.

"The four islands of the archipelago should be sunken into the sea by the nuclear bomb of Juche. Japan is no longer needed to exist near us," the committee said in a statement carried by the North’s official KCNA news agency.

Juche is the North’s ruling ideology that mixes Marxism and an extreme form of go-it-alone nationalism preached by state founder Kim Il Sung, the grandfather of the current leader, Kim Pudge Jong-un

Russia deploys MIG-29smt fighter jet to Syria for the first time
[AlMasdar] The Russian Aerospace Forces have deployed their elite MIG-29smt fighter jets to the Syrian frontier for the first time during this seven year long conflict.

According to a statement released by the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Russian Aerospace Forces will begin using the MIG-29smt in Syria to conduct missions against terrorist groups inside the country.

Despite already having the powerful Su-30 and Su-35 fighters jets at the Hmaymim Airbase in southeast Latakia, the Russian Ministry of Defense made the odd decision to deploy the MIG-29smt to Syria.

The deployment of these jets likely has to do with the Israeli Air Force’s attack on the Tartous Governorate city of Masyaf, which has a large presence of Russian military personnel.

The MIG-29smt possesses air-to-air missiles that can score precise hits on enemy aircraft.

It incorporates enhanced cockpit and avionics, additional fuel tanks, upgraded engine, and increased weapons carriage capacity. The first flight of the prototype was in April 1998. Serial production of the fighter aircraft began in 2004.

The Algerian Military rejected the delivery of 28 Mig-29smt and cancelled the contract in 2008 due to allegations of low-quality manufacturing.

In a report submitted to the Sindh home ministry on the orders of Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, the CTD said that the police party tailing Sheikh Muhammad Mumtaz, alias Firaun, and Muhammad Ahmed Khan, alias Munna, failed to arrest the two men, DawnNews said.

According to DawnNews, the report also said that the two holy warriors' controllers were in police custody and were being interrogated at the moment.

Discussing the prisoners' escape to Afghanistan, Shah later said that: "We are investigating how the escaped Lions of Islam reached Afghanistan and the people who aided them in fleeing will be punished."

"Those whose irresponsibility resulted in the escape of the prisoners [from Central Jail] were punished and sent to jail, but the courts set them free by granting them bail," he added while addressing the media during a visit to Sufi saint Abdullah Shah Ghazi's shrine.

The runaways had broken out from Karachi's Central Jail on June 13 following a shocking lapse of security at the facility.

The two had been nabbed
Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please!
in 2013 by the CTD for their alleged involvement in the killing of over 60 people, mainly members of the Shia community and law enforcers.

Early 'investigations' into the case had stated that the prisoners escaped by breaking through the grill guarding their cell. Jail staff were said to have become aware of their escape on June 14, when the two were supposed to be presented before a court located inside the jail.

Following the incident, on June 15, New Town Police started the paperwork but haven't done much else against 12 jail officials on a complaint of the then DIG Prisons over charges of negligence.

By that time, however, another investigation had revealed that the Lions of Islam had beat feet from the judicial complex inside the prison where they had been brought by jail officials.

Lawyers plea to keep ‘weak’ and ‘sick’ Carlos Danger out of jail
[NYPOST] Anthony Carlos Danger Weiner
...aka Hot Dog Tony, the remarkably offensive sex maniac six-term New York congressman who resigned in 2011, then decided everybody had forgotten by 2013, when he decided to run for mayor of New York City...
’s lawyers cast him as a "weak man" in a "self-destructive spiral" when he exchanged "sexually explicit" messages with a teenage girl, who they described as "profit seeking," according to a new court filing.

A sentencing memorandum filed late Wednesday hopes to keep the disgraced congressman out jail, claiming he was "the depths of an uncontrollable sickness" in 2016 when the underaged sext session took place.

"This crime is a product of a sickness," the memo read. "No one can dispute that Anthony’s operatic self-destruction, of which the instant case has been but the final act, was born of deep sickness."

Speaking to a private TV channel, interior minister Ahsan Iqbal said no one would be allowed to use the Pak soil against the others, apparently gesturing towards the growing pressures regarding the sanctuaries and leadership councils of the Afghan Death Eater and terrorist groups.

Iqbal further added that peace and stability in Afghanistan would be in the best interest of Pakistain as the stability of the two countries are interlinked.

This comes as the Afghan and US officials have long been criticizing Islamabad for remaining reckless to act against the Taliban and Haqqani terrorist network sanctuaries as they claim that the leadership councils of the two groups are based in the key cities of Pakistain from where they plan and coordinate attacks in Afghanistan, including some of the deadly attacks on US forces.

Boys 'cried from barred windows' as Islamic school blaze kills 23 in Malaysia
[MOBILE.REUTERS] A blaze at an Islamic boarding school in the Malaysian capital killed at least 23 people on Thursday, most of them teenage boys who cried for help from barred windows, officials and witnesses said.

The fire broke out at around 5.40 a.m. in a top-floor dormitory in the three-storey building, firemen said, where most of the students were sleeping in bunk beds, with many of the windows covered by metal grills. One survivor said there was just one window the boys managed to open.

Two teachers were also killed in the fire at the Darul Koran Ittifaqiyah, a 15-minute drive from the iconic Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, police said, adding that most of the victims died from smoke inhalation.

The youngest was just seven, media said.

The disaster has renewed calls for greater scrutiny of so-called "tahfiz" schools, where students learn to memorize the Koran. They are unregulated by the education ministry, being the responsibility of the religious department.

Michael Barone: Let's go back to paper ballots
[WASHINGTONEXAMINER] Mickey Kaus notes that the Netherlands is going to go back to conducting its elections with paper ballots. "Dutch go old school against Russian hacking," he notes, linking to a Politico Europe
...also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
story. Kaus adds an appropriate shout-out to Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit, who has been calling for paper ballots for years.

Going back to paper ballots may strike many people, as it used to strike me, as retrograde. Isn't it a lot faster to count electronic votes? Isn't there a danger that paper ballots can be altered, defaced, and burned? Isn't electronic voting cooler and more up to date?

But the arguments against paper ballots wither under inspection. Speed of counting: Why do we need an immediate result? The press has exit polls, of varying and perhaps improving worth (Britannia's was much better this year than in 2015 and 2016). And speaking of Britannia, it only takes until about 5:00am the night of election day, to have the results in for all (save maybe one or two) parliamentary constituencies. Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, in contrast, takes four to five weeks to count all its ballots ‐ California, the home of Silicon Valley!

The fact is that sacrificing a bit of speed for reliability is probably a good trade. The strongest argument for paper ballots is that they can't be hacked. The second strongest is that there is an independent record of each ballot cast, which some computerized systems lack.

It may take a long time to count ballots in some states where they include many offices and ballot propositions, but people can wait. And recounts of paper ballots can result in disputes over hanging chads and the like, but these are difficulties our republic has been handling for over 200 years. My vote is for paper ballots.

It is but what's the point if the votes are bogus? Iraq dismissal of Kirkuk governor ‘effectively ends cooperation with Baghdad’
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iraq's parliament on Thursday voted to dismiss the Kurdish governor of the ethnically mixed Kirkuk province, in a move that could escalate tensions ahead of a planned Kurdish referendum on independence.

Iraqi Kurdish leader Massud Barzani responded by describing the move as "effectively ending the cooperation with Baghdad"

Iraq's Kurds plan to hold the vote on September 25 in three governorates that make up their autonomous region as well as disputed areas like Kirkuk that are controlled by Kurdish forces but claimed by Baghdad. Late last month, Kirkuk's provincial council voted to take part in the referendum. Iraq's central government has rejected the polls as unconstitutional and illegal.

Lawmaker Hussein al-Maliki said parliament voted to dismiss Kirkuk Governor Najmiddin Karim based on consultations with Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.

Mohammed al-Karboli, another Arab politician, said Karim "threatens the country's unity and civil peace in Kirkuk."

All Kurdish members boycotted Thursday's session, while 187 mainly Arab and Turkmen politicians voted in favor, the two politicians said. The governor has the right to appeal the decision, al-Karboli added.

Shortly after the session, the Kirkuk governor rejected the parliament decision in a statement, describing it as "invalid" and insisting that he'll stay in office.

"The parliament decision ... doesn't mean anything to Kirkuk and its governor who is still in office," said the statement.

ARSA is fronted by Ata Ullah, a commander who is believed to have been born to a Rohingya family in Karachi, Pakistan, and to have lived in Saudi Arabia.

Rohingya leaders have long rejected attempts by outside militants to radicalise the population, believing them to be counterproductive.

But observers say oppressive restrictions imposed since the 2012 violence have allowed support for militancy to take root.

The group may only have had several hundred trained militants when it launched its attacks, but local Rohingya men are thought to have taken up crude weapons to join the fight in recent weeks.

Why Democrats fear voter fraud investigations
[WASHINGTONTIMES] As President Trump’s Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity met on Tuesday in New Hampshire to discuss voter fraud, the usual liberal suspects cried wolf.

During last year’s election, the president voiced what we know ‐ that voter fraud exists. The only question is to what degree, and that’s the mission of the commission.

For anyone who dismisses concerns about voter fraud, the unhinged reaction by the left at investigating it should, at the very least, make a logical person wonder what they’re so concerned about.

After all, if you believe the issue is false, or at the most an irrelevant factor in end results, you should welcome confirmation of that fact. Unless, of course, one fears the actual outcome may prove how voter fraud impacts local and state races to the point of shifting the balance of power in Washington, D.C.

Kris Kobach, the Kansas secretary of state and vice chairman of the president's commission, has already caused quite the stir. In a Breitbart article, Mr. Kobach revealed that out-of-state voters may have changed not only the outcome of the New Hampshire U.S. Senate race, but also could have impacted who won the state’s presidential contest.

Mr. Kobach’s assertion is quite simple and demands an investigation, which is exactly what the commission will do. He noted that New Hampshire is a state with same-day voter registration, which eliminates the ability to determine the eligibility of those voters. He said that last year there were 6,540 same-day registrants with out-of-state driver’s licenses.

He says, "Otherwise we’re not doing anything."

Trump and Democratic leaders talked Wednesday night over dinner about what to do with the hundreds of thousands of young immigrants colonists brought to the country illegally as children.

Iraq
ISIS detains 6 Kurds in Hawija
Hawija (IraqiNews.com) Islamic State has arrested six of its Kurdish members, including a leader, in southwest of Kirkuk, a paramilitary official said on Thursday.

“IS arrested six members of the group’s so-called Halabja group, including a leader,” Jabbar al-Maamouri, a leader of al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces), told AlSumaria News on Thursday. “All of the members were Kurdish ones who took part in several attacks in Kirkuk over the past months,” he added.

“The arrests took place in the aftermath of clashes between Halabja group and IS militants on the boundaries of Hawija,” Maamouri said, “the reasons behind the clashes are unknown yet, however, the conflicts among the militants are clearly ongoing.”

Hawija and other neighboring regions, west of Kirkuk, have been held by IS since mid-2014, when the group emerged to proclaim an Islamic “caliphate” in Iraq and Syria. The group executed dozens of civilians and security members there, forcing thousands to flee homes.

Further reinforcements from the Federal Police were sent earlier this month from Baghdad to the town, as the military command declared, late August, the end of operations in Tal Afar, the militants’ last haven west of Nineveh, and the approach of the launch of offensives for Hawija.

Spokesperson of the Iraqi Joint Operations Command Yehia Rasool said, last week, there were 2000 IS militants inside Hawija.

3 die in airstrikes in Anbar

Annah (IraqiNews.com) Thirteen Iraqi civilians were killed and wounded when unidentified warplanes bombarded a number of houses at Islamic State-held towns in western Anbar.

Abdul-Karim al-Aani, chairman of the municipal council in Annah, said the bombardment killed a family of three, and wounded ten others including women and children.

Though the identity of the warplanes could not be verified, Al-Aani urged the Iraqi government to halt air raids on Annah to avoid civilian casualties.

Hundreds of civilians had been killed in Iraqi and U.S.-led coalition strikes across Islamic State havens in Iraq since 2014 when the militants proclaimed a self-styled “caliphate” on a third of the country.

Islamic State has held the towns of Annah, Rawa and Qaim, on Anbar’s western borders with Syria since 2014. Recent news reports have said military reinforcements were sent to areas near those towns preparing for an invasion against IS. The Iraqi Joint Operations Command has, meanwhile, declared that its coming battle would be in IS-held Hawija, southwest of Kirkuk. So far, U.S.-backed government forces recaptured Mosul, Islamic State’s former capital, and the town of Tal Afar, a major haven west of Mosul.

Reports said a few weeks ago that Iraqi military aeroplanes dropped millions of messages on western Anbar telling civilians that liberation offensives were nearing, and urging people to stay away from militants’ locations.

Houthis threaten civilians in al-Hodeida
DUBAI: Houthi insurgents on Thursday threatened to attack civilian targets in Saudi Arabia and the UAE in response to Riyadh’s call to put Yemen’s Al-Hodeida port under UN administration.

In a televised speech, Houthi leader Abdel-Malek Al-Houthi said his militia’s ballistic missiles were capable of reaching the United Arab Emirates' capital of Abu Dhabi and anywhere inside Saudi Arabia.

"Today the port of Hodeidah is being threatened and we cannot turn a blind eye to that," Abdel-Malek said.

"If the Saudi regime and with a green light from the US attack Hodeidah then we have to take steps that we haven't taken before,” he said.

The Iran-backed Houthi rebels had repeatedly launched missiles and rockets toward targets in Saudi Arabia, including two that Saudi security officials had said were aimed at the holy city of Makkah. In both instances, the missiles were shot down by Saudi Air Defenses Forces before they could cause any damage.

A number of rocket attacks aimed at targets across Saudi Arabia’s southern border with Yemen had resulted in deaths and injuries, both involving military and civilians.

Abdel Malek also said that his group had successfully test fired a missile toward Abu Dhabi earlier this month and said the UAE was no longer a safe country.

He gave no further details and there has been no acknowledgement by the UAE of any missiles landing on their territory.

Yemen President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi's government, backed by a Saudi-led coalition, is fighting to drive the Houthis out of cities they seized in 2014 and 2015 in a rapid rise to national power.

The United Nations had proposed that the Red Sea port of Hodeidah, where 80 percent of Yemen’s food imports arrive, should be handed to a neutral party, to smoothen the flow of humanitarian relief and prevent the port from being engulfed by Yemen's two-year-old war.

The government of President Mansour Hadi has accused the Houthis of using the port to smuggle weapons and of collecting customs duties on goods, the proceeds of which they use to finance the war. The Houthis deny this.

Iran inks deals to repair Syria’s war-hit power grid
[IsraelTimes] In addition to fixing existing infrastructure, the Islamic Theocratic Republic will build new power plant in regime stronghold Latakia

Tehran has signed several agreements with its ally Damascus to improve the production and distribution of electricity in war-ravaged Syria, officials in Iran and Syria told state media Wednesday.

The deals were signed in Tehran by Syrian Electricity Minister Mohammed Zuhair Kharboutli and Sattar Mahmoudi, the acting head of Iran’s energy ministry, the sources said.

Mahmoudi, in statements published on the ministry’s website, said the deals to rebuild Syria’s electricity infrastructure damaged during the country’s six-year war were worth "several hundred million euros (dollars)."

The agreements involved "equipment, the network and power plants," he said, adding that Iranian firms were ready to carry out the work and that the Iranian government would support them.

Syrian state news agency SANA said one deal involved the construction of a 450-megawatt power plant in the coastal province of Latakia, home to Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Supressor of the Damascenes...
’s clan and a regime bastion.

Other deals stipulate the rehabilitation of power stations in Aleppo, Homs and Banias.

In May, Kharboutli said the Damascus government had supplied 97 percent of the country’s electricity needs before the war erupted in 2011.

That proportion is now down to 27 percent because of the shortage of fuel, he said, adding that before the conflict Syria had generated 49 billion kilowatts per hour compared with just 19 billion now.

Iran is the key political, military and financial backer of the Assad government, and has sent to Syria military advisers and volunteers to assist the Syrian regime fight rebel groups and jihadists.

In January, Iran signed several deals with Syria to build a mobile phone network, a petrol terminal and have the right to operate phosphate mines in Sharqiya, south of the ancient city of Palmyra.

Yemeni rebels fingered for child soldier recruiting
Quantifying this general report from a few days ago. Possibly the stated numbers are not greatly exaggerated.
Yemeni minister of human rights accused coup forces in his country of recruiting 20,000 children and planting about 200 thousand landmines.

“What is going on in the country is not a difference in political views, which resulted in an armed conflict, as some believe like the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, but what happened is that armed militias turned against the legitimate government,” said the minister.

In a speech at the 36th session of the of the Human Rights Council, Yemeni Human Rights Minister Mohammed Muhsen Askar reviewed the deteriorating humanitarian situation in his country, and the difficult circumstances the people are suffering.

Askar said human rights violations in Yemen threatened international peace and security, adding that the Government had been forced to use military power, which had led to all the destruction; it was those who were the cause of the catastrophe who shouldered the responsibility for that. The catastrophe could only stop with a clear international stand to implement international resolutions, especially Security Council Resolution 2216. The Yemeni Government would do its utmost to cooperate with the High Commissioner.

“Human rights violations in Yemen threatened international peace and security. The situation was a full coup against legitimacy with the support of some forces; it was an armed coup against legitimate institutions. Hundreds of civilians had been killed, and Sana’a, the capital, had been occupied,” said Askar.

“There was a response by the Arab coalition, and after two months of the comprehensive war, a result had been obtained. It was unfortunate that some did not see the reality in Yemen. All needed to be aware that the coup leaders believed in false ideas that led to dismantling the fabric of the Yemeni society. They thought they monopolized the divine right and could hold power by force,” he added.

“All had heard the political slogans of those militias, every day they called for death to America and to Israel, which ran counter to Islamic traditions, which prohibited contempt of religions. The militias had also recruited 20,000 children and planted landmines, a flagrant violation of the rights of the child and the convention on land mines.”

“The Council had paid special attention to the situation of human rights in Yemen and had adopted a number of resolutions. The resolutions of the Security Council in the last two years had asked Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to provide technical assistance. But that assistance had not been provided as needed. The Yemeni Government would do its utmost to cooperate with the High Commissioner. The suffering of the Palestinian people under occupation and the restriction of its freedoms needed a serious political stance. The ethnic cleansing of the Muslim Rohingya was also condemned in the strongest terms,” concluded Askar.

IS Frees Hizbullah Captive after Stranded Convoy Reaches Jihadist-Held Territory
[AnNahar] Hizbullah
...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory...

They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group has released captive fighter Ahmed Maatouk early on Thursday as part of a Hizbullah-IS deal.

Maatouk arrived at the southern town Nabatieh after crossing into Leb at dawn through the Jusi-Qusayr border crossing with Syria, Hizbullah's Media Channel said.

Maatouk was released after a convoy of Islamic State fighters, evacuated from Leb under a Hizbullah-IS deal, reached their destination in Syria's Deir Ezzor.

Busloads of Islamic State fighters stranded in the Syrian desert reached jihadist-held territory after the US-led coalition stopped surveillance of the convoy, a monitor said.

Coalition drones had been circling the stranded 11-vehicle convoy for days and periodically picking off IS fighters if they strayed too far from the vehicles.

But the convoy, with as many as 200 jihadists and 200 civilians on board, arrived in Deir Ezzor eastern Syria "after the coalition decision to stop their surveillance on the convoy", said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britannia-based monitor.

A source on the ground told AFP "the operation is done, ISIS (IS) convoy reached Deir Ezzor province".

The US-led coalition on Friday pulled aircraft from the skies above the convoy so regime and Russian forces could go past, officials said.

"To ensure safe deconfliction of efforts to defeat ISIS, coalition surveillance aircraft departed the adjacent airspace at the request of Russian officials during their assault on Deir Ezzor," the coalition said in a statement.

The vehicles left the Leb-Syria border region on August 28 under an evacuation deal negotiated between IS and Hizbullah, which has intervened in the war in neighboring Syria to prop up the Damascus government.

But the US-led coalition pounded the road to Deir Ezzor with air strikes to prevent the convoy reaching the IS-held town of Albukamal on the Iraqi border.

The United States has repeatedly stressed that it was not party to the Hizbullah deal and said the fate of those aboard the buses was not a coalition issue.

US extends nuke sanctions relief but hits targets accused of cyber attacks
[IsraelTimes] Economic sanctions slapped on 11 individuals and companies accused of supporting Iran's Revolutionary Guards, involvement in cyber attacks against US banks

The United States on Thursday agreed to continue for now to exempt Iran from nuclear-related sanctions but slapped new measures against targets accused of cyber attacks or fomenting militancy.

President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
’s decision will be seen as a victory for opponents of the Iran nuclear deal, who have called for tough action against Tehran’s alleged destabilizing role in its region.

On October 15, Trump is due to decide whether Iran has breached the 2015 nuclear agreement, and critics fear he may abandon an accord they think prevents Tehran from building a nuclear bomb.

But supporters hailed Thursday’s move, in which the US Treasury announced new sanctions on non-nuclear issues even as Trump’s administration grudgingly maintained sanctions relief.

A senior administration official, speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
, called the waiver "a holding action," warning that no decision had been reached on the long-term future of the deal.

"This is the action that the US is taking in the interim," he said, "while the president and his cabinet come to final decision in consultation among themselves and in consultation with allies."

The Treasury imposed economic sanctions on 11 individuals and companies accused of supporting Iran’s Revolutionary Guards or engaging in cyber attacks against US banks.

Trump’s administration has criticized the 2015 deal signed by his predecessor Barack Obama

’s administration, but has so far not reimposed the former sanctions imposed on Iran’s nuclear program.

The new sanctions announced Thursday targeted an engineering company, two air transport firms and an IT company.

The IT firm is accused of carrying out denial-of-service attacks on at least nine American financial institutions, including major banks and stock exchanges between 2011 and 2012.

Nigerian troops agree to withdraw from Abia
The Nigerian army has agreed to withdraw soldiers from Aba and Umuahia in Abia state. According to The Cable, Okezie Ikpeazu, Abia state governor, made the announcement of the withdrawal of troops during a press conference on Thursday. Troops had been deployed to the state for a military exercise tagged Operation Python Dance II.

But earlier:
Troops invade home of IPOB leader

At least four persons were said to have been killed when troops from the Nigerian Army broke into the Afara-Ukwu, Umuahia country home of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.

However, there were conflicting figure of the number of dead as unconfirmed reports put it at between 18 and 22 with scores injured.

But the whereabouts of the IPOB leader is immediately known but a reliable source from the family confirmed that he was safe, At about 5.30 shortly after Governor Okezie Ikpeazu ended his media briefing where he announced that he has reached an understanding with the army for gradual withdrawal of soldiers from the streets of Aba and Umuahia, sounds of sporadic gun shooting started coming out from the direction of Kanu’s home.

All the entrances leading to the house were barricaded with military vans with scores of soldiers stationed there, shooting in the air to scare away people. The shooing and operation in the house lasted for over 30 minutes.

According to a family source, “the Palace was desecrated and ransacked as the soldiers searched all nooks and crannies of the house”. The source also claimed that cars in the house was vandalized a family dog shot dead.

The father, HRH Eze Israel Kanu and his wife were said to be in the Palace while the operation lasted. It was not however clear if any incriminating. Calls put across to the Army public relations officer of 14, Brigade, Major Oyegoke Gbadamosi was not picked but his boss, the deputy director, Army Public Relations, 82 Division, Col- Sagir Musa said he was not in Umuahia and promised to make inquiries from his men on ground and get back to me. But he has not got back as at the time of going to filing the report Thursday night.
If you're like me, the only thing you know about Nigeria is from the film "Tears of the Sun". Apparently, things have been festering since early last summer between the Nigerian government and a separatist group in the region known years ago as Biafra.

Dana Milbank: NRA's idea of recreation
Kommie Liberal writer Dana Milbank tries his hand at applying sarcasm to a political issue and fails, miserably.
WASHINGTON — The days are growing colder, and soon millions of American hunters will pursue a time-honored tradition. They will load their automatic weapons with armor-piercing bullets, strap on silencers, head off to the picnic grounds on nearby public lakes — and start shooting.
Here Milbanks proudly displays his abject ignorance about shooting on public lands.
If you do not immediately recognize this pastime as part of America’s heritage, then you are sadly out of step with the current Republican majority in Congress. On Tuesday, a House panel takes up the “Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement Act of 2017,” which promises “to protect and enhance opportunities for recreational hunting, fishing and shooting.”

Among these recreational enhancements:
  • Allowing people to bring assault guns and other weapons through jurisdictions where they are banned.

  • Rolling back decades-old regulations on the use of silencers.
  • Protecting the use of armor-piercing bullets.

  • Easing importation of foreign-made assault rifles.

  • Protecting the practice of baiting birds with grain as they migrate and then mowing them down.

Note the use of the term assault rifle, which is a term made up by the left in the run up to the assault weapons ban in the 1980s. You should also be aware armor piercing slugs are allowed as long as they are the 5.56mm, not the Russian made 5.45mm,

In an effort to show Russian president Vladimir Putin who was boss, someone somewhere in the jungle of the justice industry pointed out that short barreled rifles and AK pistols are being sold which can fire the most common round for the AK-74, the 7N6. President at the time Barak Obama seized on that and on his right to limit certain imports from Russia as part of sanctions after the Russian takeover of Crimea in 2014. The M-855 5.56mm round was also banned for use and sale for sporting purposes. A lot of AK shooters bitched about it, so the ban was withdrawn. But not for the 7N6. To ban the 7N6 round and not the M-855 round was, in a word, unfair to AK-74 owners.

The 7N6 is called armor piercing even though it is the regularly issued round for the Russian military. It has a mild steel core, and that, according to the geniuses in the government, makes it armor piercing.

Easing importation of foreign rifles: One class of rifles are foreign made rifles, which are imported but are also demilled, rendered useless, with the parts being sold as kits. Chances are that Milbank is also bitching about the reimportation of US made rifles for the Civilian Marksmanship Program. Dunno, but I know Milbank is incredibly in the dark about all of it, sufficiently so he has very little useful to say about firearms.

The House Natural Resources Committee was to have had a hearing on the bill in June, before the baseball-practice shooting that seriously wounded House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-Louisiana, led to its cancellation.

But the National Rifle Association was not to be denied. In a statement last week, the gun lobby’s director applauded the revival of the bill, which he said “will protect America’s hunters and recreational shooters and help preserve our outdoor heritage.” Among the GOP witnesses for Tuesday’s “recreational shooter” hearing: Stephen Halbrook, author of a book that draws parallels between the current gun-control debate and Nazis’ disarmament of Jews.

The bill, notably, has not been embraced by the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus, and it is likely to draw a lot of opposition from Democrats. Clearly, both groups are dominated by elites who do not understand the joy of pheasant hunting with tungsten-tipped bullets. Allow me to explain.
Milbank lamely explains:
Consider Title XV of the sportsmen’s bill, also known as the “Hearing Protection Act,” which makes it easier for gun owners to buy silencers for their weapons. The uninformed might suspect that silencers are used by people who want to fire weapons without being caught by cops or observed by witnesses. But more and more hunters are finding that conventional earplugs and muffs are not adequate for today’s weapons — for example, quail hunting with an M777 howitzer or grouse hunting with an FIM-92 Stinger missile launcher.
Heavy weapons. Ha ha. Good one.
Sportsmen are further protected by a “Destruction of Records” provision requiring the government to delete silencer sale and transfer information. For obvious reasons, law-abiding hunters would not want silencer purchases to be logged. Such a paper trail would be an obvious tip-off to game animals, particularly those, such as the white-tailed deer, with access to the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record.
Cue the rimshot.
Title XVI of the bill, the “Lawful Purpose and Self-Defense Act,” denies the government authority to reclassify bullets as “armor-piercing ammunition.” It’s OK if the ammunition pierces body armor, as long as the manufacturer claims the ammo is meant to be used for sport and not for killing people wearing body armor. This provision is particularly timely because a growing percentage of Western grizzlies have been seen in recent years wearing Kevlar vests when they attack schools in Wyoming.
As I understand it, most modern vests
Class III or less will not protect you from regular rifle slugs, not just those classified as armor piercing.

I take personal comfort in Title XI of the sportsmen’s bill, which says that if you can legally own a gun in states with anything-goes gun laws (such as Texas), you can transport that gun through places with restrictive laws (such as Washington, D.C.). People could be free to take their AR-15s, their AK-47s or perhaps even their M134 machine guns to the capital.
They already are free to do so, as long as they don't get caught.
They wouldn’t be allowed to leave them here, but it’s likely some would do so anyway — a welcome development, because I have discovered a population of moles burrowing in my lawn. A weapon that fires 100 rounds a minute would make quick work of them.
A lot Milbank knows about moles.
Title V, the “Farmer and Hunter Protection Act,” would enhance hunters’ enjoyment (and farmers’ finances) by allowing them to lure migrating birds to certain fields where crops have not been harvested — and shoot them.

Those “sportsmen” who find this unsporting could instead make their way to one of the recreational areas run by the Army Corps of Engineers, which receive 370 million visitors a year — and would receive armed visitors under Title III, the “Recreational Lands Self-Defense Act.”

The need for this is transparent. Suppose you are with your family, drinking beer on a pontoon boat on the lake, and another family’s boat bumps yours. Under current law, you have no recourse. But under this bill, you could settle things according to your sportsmen’s heritage, by raising your silencer-equipped assault gun and firing armor-piercing bullets at migratory birds.
That's what Milbank would do anyway, the moment his cajones drop.

Arabia
Yemen al-Qaeda ousted from Abyan district
ADEN: Yemeni forces backed by the UAE have driven Al-Qaeda militants from a southern district that is the birthplace of President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, security sources said Thursday.

Wadea is located in Abyan province, which for months was a no-go zone for pro-government troops and where Al-Qaeda fighters fled after a similar offensive in the neighboring province of Shabwa last month.

Seven suspected Al-Qaeda members were arrested during the Wadea operation, which began on Wednesday, including an alleged explosives expert known as Abu Abdallah, according to the sources.

Other sources said the terrorists had not put up a fierce resistance, but withdrew — a now familiar pattern for Al-Qaeda in Yemen.

“Most of the organization’s leaders fled ... and headed toward the nearby Muhafid district,” the sources said, referring to an Al-Qaeda stronghold on the edge of Abyan province.

Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, seen by the US as the network’s most dangerous branch, has exploited years of conflict between the government and Houthi militias to expand its presence in Yemen, particularly in southern provinces.

Around 100 UAE troops have been killed in the conflict.

Separately, a Saudi pilot was killed in Yemen while providing air support for an operation against Al-Qaeda militants, a Saudi-led coalition backing the government said on Thursday.

The Saudi Royal Air Force plane crashed in the southern province of Abyan on Wednesday night “due to a technical failure,” coalition spokesman Col. Turki Al-Maliki told the Saudi Press Agency.

Meanwhile, UN humanitarian coordinator Jamie McGoldrick said in Aden that the UN is in the process of expanding its role in southern Yemen.

“We are bringing in more internationals to be based here and also to go to the provinces to support the humanitarian needs in those places,” McGoldrick told reporters at Aden airport.

The coordinator said he met Yemen’s prime minister to discuss the humanitarian situation and logistics during his visit to the city.

“We expressed the need for the ministries here and elsewhere to be functioning properly, for budgets to be given to them so they can do their work,” said McGoldrick.

“The UN and the international community cannot replace these ministries. We’re only here for the emergency side of things,” he said, highlighting the country’s cholera epidemic and food security.

McGoldrick said he met with officials from the Arab coalition.

“We visited the Emirati base and met with the coalition forces — the Emiratis and the Saudis — and we had a chat about the current situation and our expansion plans and what their own activities look like,” he said, without elaborating.

...a country located on the other side of the Deep South. It is covered with Pampers and inhabited by Grouchos, who dance the Tangle. They used to have some islands called the Malvinas located where the Falklands are now. They're not supposed to cry for Evita...
which was not in any way connected to the cyber-security event that occurred in the United States last week," an Equifax spokeswoman told the BBC.

"We immediately acted to remediate the situation, which affected a limited amount of information strictly related to Equifax employees.

"We have no evidence at this time that any consumers or customers have been negatively affected, and we will continue to test and improve all security measures in the region."

The discovery came less than a week after Equifax revealed that a separate breach meant about 143 million US consumers and an undisclosed number of British and Canadian residents might have had personal details exposed.

The firm took six weeks to make the discovery public after first learning of a problem.

#2  The three main credit reporting agencies are Equifax, Experian, and Transunion. Equifax has had a data security breach. It's not clear why the hackers hacked into the data and for what purpose. Perhaps stealing one's identity, blackmail or fraud. Regardless of the purpose, floating credit to someone is based on these credit reports. I can see where these hacks could really mess with the economy.

Equifax was the only credit agency hacked. It would seem that if Equifax data were hacked and altered, it could be checked against data held by Experian and Transunion. If there were disparities, then it would appear there is a problem. Perhaps, some arrangement could be made to true the credit record based on those reports which have not been changed and are accurate.

China-Japan-Koreas
North Korea fires another missile, less than 2 weeks after nuclear bomb test
[Bus Insider] North Korea reportedly fired another missile, less than two weeks after its suspected hydrogen bomb test, South Korea's Yonhap News said on Friday morning local time.

South Korean military officials reportedly said that the missile was fired near Pyongyang, North Korea's capital, and headed eastward.

Emergency alerts in Japan were issued and an one account claims that it passed over Hokkaido at 7:06 a.m. local time and over to the Pacific Ocean.

Japan did not attempt to shoot down the missile, NHK reported.

A North Korea n state agency threatened on Thursday to use nuclear weapons to "sink" Japan and reduce the United States to "ashes and darkness" for supporting a UN Security Council resolution and sanctions over its latest nuclear test, Reuters reported.

The day before yesterday, I read that China, in keeping with UN Sanctions™, had announced that its national bank would no longer deal in bitcoins.

Yesterday, NORK launches another missile, something I would take as a genuine swipe at the face of the UN and, more importantly, China.

China appears to have lost control over Li'l Kim, and I believe will not accept this latest evolution of their Loose Cannon. It's been fun to use NORK to troll the U.S., but crossing "Loss of Face" behavioral boundaries is not the Asiatic way.

I anticipate a new NORK leader more to the liking of China in short order.

India-Pakistan
Barbaric murders
[DAWN] EVEN in the annals of ’honour’ killing, these will be counted as particularly barbaric murders. Two teenagers, 15-year-old Bakht Taj and 17-year-old Ghani Rehman, were electrocuted to death by their families for having eloped from their homes in Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
’s Ibrahim Hyderi area. However,
today is that tomorrow you were thinking about yesterday...
before they could approach someone to get married, they were tracked down by their families, who belong to a sub-clan of the Mohmand tribe, and brought back. A jirga of tribal elders ordered that the children be put to death for having flouted the traditional code of honour. Allegedly, the father and uncle of the girl and the boy held them down and repeatedly gave them electric shocks until they died. After an informant told police about the crime, bodies of the dear departed were exhumed on Wednesday; a forensic analysis found that they bore signs of electrocution and torture.

The crime of honour killing ‐ whatever the means of murder ‐ has a particular horror attached to it: the savagery is twice compounded for being committed by one’s own family. It can seem even more shocking when such an act takes place not in some lawless tribal region or rural backwater, but in a bustling, comparatively modern metropolis. However,
today is that tomorrow you were thinking about yesterday...
that should not be cause for surprise. People, especially migrants colonists, who belong to an extremely conservative social milieu are more likely to try and preserve their cultural values fiercely than be influenced by their (new) environment. As the present case shows, they retain even the informal instruments of ’justice’ that exist back home. The real issue then, is of changing mindsets in which antediluvian notions of honour demand the taking of a life or the handing over maidens as compensation. Nevertheless, there is evidence of an intergenerational conflict taking place in this society with younger people, more exposed to outside influences through the media and the internet, wanting to break free of the straitjacket of tradition imposed on them by their elders. The state must demonstrate that honour killing has no place in society. Although the crime inexcusably remains compoundable, amendments to the law have enhanced the maximum punishment to imprisonment for life, ie 25 years, while the minimum ‐ even in case of a compromise ‐ cannot be less than 10 years behind bars. The murderers in the recent case and the jirga participants should be held accountable. The law of the land must prevail over archaic tribal codes.

Faisal Mosque official ‘target of incitement campaign’
[DAWN] ISLAMABAD: Amid growing concerns regarding the radicalisation of students, especially in the aftermath of the tragic lynching of Mashal Khan, the issue of bad boy activities on campuses has acquired renewed significance.

On Wednesday, another worrying incident came to light when a senior Faisal Mosque official alleged that he had been made the target of a concerted smear campaign that had declared him to be ’Qadiani’ ‐ a pejorative term for Ahmadis ‐ on social media.

Speaking before the Senate Standing Committee on Interior, Mosque Deputy Director Mohammad Tahir accused a staff member of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) of engineering the campaign, which instigated some 30,000 students to cause him physical harm.

The committee, chaired by Senator Rehman Malik
Pak politician, Interior Minister under the Gilani government. Malik is a former Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) intelligence officer who rose to head the FIA during Benazir Bhutto's second tenure. Malik was tossed from his FIA job in 1998 after documenting the breath-taking corruption of the Sharif family. By unhappy coincidence Nawaz Sharif became PM at just that moment and Malik moved to London one step ahead of the button men. He had to give up the interior ministry job because he held dual Brit citizenship.
, directed Senior Superintendent of Police Sajid Kiani to take the matter seriously and ensure the security of the complainant.

However,
those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things...
IIUI Rector Dr Masoom Yasinzai told Dawn he had taken up the issue with the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and sought an explanation was sought from the staffer in question, who had denied involvement in any campaign against Mr Tahir.

Talking to Dawn, Dr Masoom Yasinzai said the issue surfaced when the university learnt that CDA wanted to take control of the mosque.

Briefing the committee, Mr Tahir also claimed that on July 25, he had told a parliamentary committee that the IIUI still occupied offices inside the Faisal Mosque premises.

"Following my appearance, an IIUI staffer declared me to be ’Qadiani’ and extolled the 30,000 students of the university to not tolerate it. Since then, I have been feeling insecure with students’ demeanour towards me. I can say oath on that I am a Moslem, but no one believes me," he said.

Mr Tahir said he had complained to both police and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

Senator Malik said it was unfortunate that students were being instigated to take action against an individual who had been declared a ’Qadiani’ for personal gains, and asked the FIA about progress in the case.

Police arrest member of Jerusalem terror group
[IsraelTimes] Old City resident indicted for activism in a banned

Police said Thursday that they had enjugged
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
an East Jerusalem man suspected of being a senior activist in the outlawed al-Shabaab
... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia...
al-Aqsa organization.

Rami Fahouri, 26, a resident of the Old City in Jerusalem was questioned on suspicion of being a member of a banned terror organization.

Al-Shabaab al-Aqsa was classified as a terror group in 2011 and is affiliated with the Paleostinian terror organization Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,.

Prosecutors filed an indictment against Fahouri later Thursday and requested he be held until the proceedings against him were concluded.

Fahouri is at the "core of an organization that has been declared a terror group, that identifies with Hamas and whose past activities include violent rioting and terror attacks," the police statement said.

Although they did not say when Fahouri was detained, police said an undercover operation was launched weeks ago based on information received from the Shin Bet domestic security agency. According to the information, Hamas operatives were trying to transfer money for terror activities in Israel via an Old City resident who was known to be active in al-Shabaab al-Aqsa.

"The police investigation that began based on the information from the Shin Bet prevented an attempt by activists in a terror group from gaining a foothold in Israeli territory," police said.

During the investigation, police said, they found that the suspect had organized riots on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem a year ago, and published comments on social media identifying with and praising al-Shabaab al-Aqsa.

A female resident of the Old City, known as a central activist in the outlawed Murabitun group, was also arrested, police said. The Murabitun, before they were outlawed in September 2015, were known for harassing Jewish visitors on the Temple Mount, at times resorting to physical assault.

Jerusalem prosecutors said Thursday in a statement that they have recently filed indictments against 13 suspected members of al-Shabaab al-Aqsa.

In June, security forces arrested five al-Shabaab al-Aqsa members suspected of planning to attack security forces and visitors to the Temple Mount.

The Shin Bet said at the time that in addition to stoking violence on the Temple Mount to deter non-Moslem visitors, members of the group have carried out a number of deadly terror attacks, including an October 2016 shooting in which two Israelis were killed at a Jerusalem light rail stop and during a subsequent shootout with police.

Arabia
Saudi efforts to combat terror financing
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] On Aug. 20, Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
took practical steps in the establishment of the US-Gulf Anti-terrorism Financing Center. This comes as part of the implementation of terms of the joint agreement signed during the 3rd US-Gulf summit held in Riyadh in May 2017.

The Riyadh-based center will monitor, and share information, regarding both outgoing and incoming financial transactions to the Middle East and North Africa.

This highlights the determination of Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Gulf states to curb the sources of terrorism, which has become a global concern, and has impacted on the security and stability of the financial system and the economy.

Saudi Arabia has a long history of combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism, through its efforts and cooperation with various relevant regional and international organizations, including the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), the Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force (MENAFATF), and the Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units.

In June 2015, at a meeting held in Brisbane, Australia, FATF unanimously adopted a resolution granting Saudi Arabia an observer seat after the task force delegation commended the country’s prominent role in combating money laundering, the financing of terrorism and the proliferation of armament.

Soon after that, Saudi Arabia started preparations for the third assessment scheduled to take place in June 2018, which may grant Saudi Arabia a permanent seat on FATF.

The 40+9 recommendations
Saudi Arabia was among the leading countries to implement the 40+9 recommendations for combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism initiated by FATF in 1990.

Saudi Arabia attended FATF meetings as a member of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which complies with all international standards in this area and underwent two assessment processes, in 2003-2004 and in 2009-2010, achieving high scores of compliance, and was ranked top among Arab countries and in the top ten of the G20.

Moreover, Saudi Arabia is also a member of the Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs) having fulfilled membership requirements.

The Egmont Group is an informal body established in 1995, aimed at strengthening international cooperation between FIUs to combat money laundering and the financing of terrorism. The group comprises 127 countries with active FIUs.

Regional scale
On a regional scale, Saudi Arabia is one of the Arab founding states of MENAFATF, which was established in 2004 according to international standards of combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism issued by FATF.

The Saudi unit is a joint member of the technical assistance and application team as well as the joint assessment team in the group. In the third round of the joint-assessment process, Saudi Arabia was assessed in a joint task between FATF and MENAFATF.

The latter commended the Saudi role in combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism as well as achieving the scores required to comply with applicable measures in this area. Saudi Arabia is undoubtedly the best Middle Eastern example of combatting terrorism and curbing its financing.

The establishment of a US-Gulf anti-terrorism financing center in Riyadh certainly indicates international recognition that Saudi Arabia is an active member capable of participating in international efforts to combat money laundering and the financing of terrorism. Its recent unprecedented achievements have become a model to follow.

Head of al-Murrah tribe confirms Qatar revokes family’s citizenship
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The head of the al-Murrah tribe in Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates...
, Sheikh Taleb bin Lahom bin Shreim, has confirmed that Doha has revoked his citizenship along with 54 of his relatives and warned his country’s embrace of Iran.

In an interview with Al Arabiya, Sheikh Taleb said the actions of the Qatari authorities has not surprised him.

"The Qatari authorities have become a source of haven for holy warriors and their sponsors, and the subject of discussion is much bigger than nationality. It is a big attack on Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
and the Gulf states," he told Al Arabiya.

Saudi Arabia’s National Society for Human Rights (NSHR) has said that Qatar revoked the citizenships of 54 members directly related to Sheikh Taleb’s branch of the family, including 18 women and their children.

"This violating all principles of human rights
One man's rights are another man's existential threat.
, exposing them as diasporas and displacing them, similar to an action in the past when the Qatari government itself in 2005 took action against more than 6,000 of its citizens and displaced them by withdrawing their nationality without any justification or reason consistent with international standards," NSHR said in a statement made available to Al Arabiya.

Terror Networks
Bin Laden’s son calls for jihad in Syria
[IsraelTimes] Hamza bin Laden, on US terrorist blacklist since January, believed preparing to take over leadership of al-Qaeda

Hamza bin Laden, son and would-be heir of late al-Qaeda leader the late Osama bin Laden
... who is now beyond all cares and woe...
, has urged Moslems around the world to join the jihad in Syria against "crusaders" and Shiites.

"The cause of Syria is the cause of the entire worldwide Moslem community," he said in an undated audio recording released on jihadist networks Thursday.

"In order for the people of Syria to resist the Crusader, Shiite and international aggression, Moslems ‐ all Moslems ‐ must stand with them, support them and give them victory," he said.

"Wakefulness is essential, as is quick, serious and organised movement, to support the people of blessed Syria before it is too late."

Hamza, who is in his mid-20s, has become active as an al-Qaeda propagandist since his father’s death at the hands of US special forces in May 2011.

Syria has been devastated by a six-year war and given an opening to jihadists including the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group and the Fateh al-Sham
...formerly al-Nusra, the current false nose and mustache of al-Qaeda in the Levant...
Front.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, the Sunni Death Eater group that last month seized control of the northern Syrian city of Idlib, is dominated by the al-Qaeda offshoot, which officially broke ties with the network founded by Osama bin Laden.

But experts say the name change was little more than a re-branding.

Many believe the group is positioning itself as more moderate than the Islamic State group in hopes of a resurgence.

The United States added Hamza bin Laden to its terrorist blacklist in January.

The US Treasury estimates that he was born in 1989 in the Saudi city of Jeddah. His mother was Khairiah Sabar, one of the al-Qaeda founder’s three wives.

Last year, the fifth anniversary of the death of the man who ordered the 9/11 attacks on the United States, experts began to note his son’s increasing prominence in the movement.

The State Department has designated him a "Specially Designated Global Terrorist", freezing any assets he holds in areas under US jurisdiction.

In an undated audio message released in August, Hamza bin Laden urged his Saudi supporters to rebel and overthrow the kingdom’s rulers.

Experts believe he is preparing to take over the leadership of al-Qaeda and exploit the Islamic State group’s defeats in Syria and Iraq to unify the global jihadist movement under the banner of al-Qaeda.

[IsraelTimes] Bernard Ravet, from Marseille, says he was horrified by violent Islamist verses circulating among students, regularly advised Jewish students to attend elsewhere for their own safety.

The remaining two-thirds are divided equally between Jewish schools and private schools that are not Jewish, including Catholic and Protestant institutions, according to Francis Kalifat, the president of the CRIF umbrella group of French Jewish communities.

“In the Paris region, there are virtually no more Jewish pupils attending public schools,” Kalifat told JTA last year, attributing their absence to “a bad atmosphere of harassment, insults and assaults” against Jews because of their ethnicity, and to the simultaneous growth of the Jewish education system.

Arabia
Saudi to take bids to kick off ambitious nuclear power plants
All the work will be done by hired Philippine and Palestinian technicians, desultorily supervised by grossly overpaid native Saudis with degrees but no hands on experience. What could possibly go wrong?
[Iran Press TV] Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
is preparing to launch a tender for its first nuclear power plants as early as next month, sources in the industry say, noting that the oil-rich kingdom is bent on diversifying its energy supply.

The world’s top oil exporter is hoping to lure in potential vendors from countries like Russia, South Korea, La Belle France, China and Japan to start construction next year of reactors needed for two plants with a total capacity of up to 2.8 gigawatts, Rooters reported on Thursday, citing three sources.

"Competition will be fierce," said an industry source, noting that Riyadh was expected to file a Request for Information (RFI) to suppliers come October, officially starting the tender process after completing feasibility studies.

Ansarullah missiles can reach anywhere in UAE: Houthi
[Iran Press TV] The leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, says the neighboring United Arab Emirates (UAE) is no more a safe country as missiles manufactured by the Yemeni group can now hit anywhere in the Arab country.

Addressing his supporters via a televised speech from the Yemeni capital Sana’a on Thursday evening, Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
said that Ansarullah missiles were capable of reaching Abu Dhabi and elsewhere in the UAE.

He added that Ansarullah also had several domestically-manufactured drones in its inventory that would become operational in the near future.

On February 26, Yemeni army forces unveiled four domestically-designed and -produced drones set to collect information on the positions and movements of snuffies loyal to resigned president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi as well as Saudi troops, and carry out aerial attacks against them.

The sole unveiled combat aircraft, code-named Qasef-1 (Striker-1), has a wingspan of three meters and a hull length of 2.5 meters.

The drone has a flight endurance of 120 minutes, and is capable of carrying a payload of 30 kilograms.

Elsewhere in his Thursday’s remarks, Houthi emphasized that Ansarullah fighters and Yemeni army soldiers were fighting against the US’ state-of-the-art military technology, which Saudi and Emirati forces were using in Yemen.

He went on to say that Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
has failed numerous times during its military campaign against Yemen, stressing that officials in Riyadh have not come to their senses despite huge losses that the oil-rich kingdom has suffered as a result of its adventurism.

"Saudi Arabia and the UAE are paying the price of their erroneous policies. Such mistakes have forced them to alter their approach to the conflict in Syria," Houthi commented.

Syrian Army Restores Control over New Areas in Deir Ezzor, Russians and Kurds pile on
The Syrian Army units operating in Deir Ezzor on Thursday regained control over new areas in the western and eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor city in the framework of their wide-scale military operations to uproot terrorism.

SANA’s reporter said that the army units regained control over Damen battalion, southwest of the Airport, and the first water-pumping station in al-Mrai’eyeh.

The reporter added that the Air Force and Artillery of the Syrian army destroyed, in intensive strikes, ISIL positions and movement axes, killing a number of terrorists in the villages of Aiyash, al-Jeneineh, Howeijet Saqer, al-Mrai’eyeh and al-Husseinyeh in the countryside of Deir Ezzor province.

Russian submarines attack Daesh targets in Dayr al-Zawr

[Iran Press TV] Russia says it has launched a missile attack against positions held by ISIS in Syria’s eastern province of Dayr al-Zawr from the submarines stationed in the Mediterranean Sea.

In a statement released on Thursday, the Russian Defense Ministry said seven Kalibr cruise missiles were fired from Russia’s Velikiy Novgorod and Kolpino submarines in the eastern Mediterranean. The missiles, it said, hit all the planned targets, which were within a range of 500 to 670 kilometers.

The targets that came under the attack included "control centers, communication hubs, bully boy weapons and ammunition warehouses in ISIS (ISIS)-controlled areas in southeast Dayr al-Zawr," the statement read.

Earlier this month, the Syrian government forces broke the three-year-long ISIS siege on Dayr al-Zawr city, the lovely provincial capital of the oil-rich province of the same name.

US-backed forces capture ISIS stronghold in eastern Deir Ezzor

[AlMasdar] The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have captured the strategic district of al-Husseiniyeh along the eastern bank of the Deir Ezzor Governorate, Kurdish activists reported on Thursday evening.

The capture of the al-Husseiniyeh District by the Syrian Democratic Forces leaves the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
in serious trouble in Deir Ezzor, as their units are now besieged in a large pocket around the lovely provincial capital.

Al-Husseiniyeh was also a major supply hub for the terrorist group that was used to replenish provisions for Islamic State fighters in western Deir Ezzor.

With al-Husseiniyeh captured, the Syrian Democratic Forces can now turn their attention to the remaining areas occupied by the Islamic State along the eastern banks of the Euphrates River.

Government
House votes to deport illegal immigrant gang members over Democratic objections
[WASHINGTONEXAMINER] The House of Representatives passed a bill Thursday aimed at keeping illegal immigrants colonists out of the U.S. if they are members of criminal gangs.

The Criminal Alien Gang Member Removal Act passed in a 233-175 vote, and was backed largely by GOP politicians, and opposed by most Democrats. The legislation was introduced by Rep. Barbara Comstock. R-Va.

The bill would require illegal immigrants colonists in gangs to be detained and deported, and ensures that gang members are not able to receive immigration benefits, including asylum, special immigrant juvenile status or temporary protected status.

"It will provide additional tools to law enforcement that will ensure that when [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] positively identifies a known alien gang member, they may act immediately," Comstock said on the House floor. "We don't have to wait until these brutal killers wield their machetes or leave another body on a children's playground."

Comstock's Northern Virginia district is home to members of the MS-13 gang, which has been responsible for eight deaths in the district since November, according to the congresswoman.

Reps. Peter King
...U.S. Representative for New York's 3rd (central Long Island) congressional district, serving since 1993. He is of the Publican persuasion and is known for his active support for the IRA Irish republican movement...
, R-N.Y., Raul Labrador, R-Idaho, and Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., were also key backers of the legislation.

Rep. Zoe Lofgren, D-Calif., an opponent of the bill, argued that the bill could have unintended consequences, including the potential targeting of religious groups who harbor illegal immigrants colonists against deportation. She also warned that the Department of Homeland Security would have expanded authority to crack down on what the bill wrongfully allows to be thought of as a gang.
