Egyptian Officials Say Muslim Brotherhood Spiritual Leader Mohammed Badie Has Been Detained

#1  per al arabiya, in July 2013, Badei condemned the removal of Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi by the Egyptian military stating "I swear by God that what (Gen. Abdel-Fattah) al-Sissi did in Egypt is more criminal than if he had carried an ax and demolished the holy Kaaba, stone by stone."

I suppose that's spiritual leader stuff not incitement to murder

Egypt prosecution orders arrest of 260 Morsi supporters
[Al Ahram] Egypt's general prosecution on Monday ordered the arrest of 260 supporters of ousted president Mohamed Morsi on charges of inciting violence during Saturday's Al-Fath Mosque festivities.

The 260 are accused of forming an illegal organization, inciting murder and inciting the breaking into Azbakeya cop shoppe in Cairo's Ramses Square.

Fierce festivities erupted at Al-Fath Mosque in Ramses Square, central Cairo, on Saturday between Morsi supporters and opponents, as well as with police. Around 1,500 pro-Morsi protesters sought refuge inside Al-Fath Mosque in Cairo's Ramses district, demanding a "safe exit" from the area.

Gunshots were eventually fired from inside of the mosque as police fired back before the police stormed in arresting those inside.

The interior ministry announced on Saturday that 1,004 were jugged
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
nationwide since festivities broke out Friday. It also announced that illegal weapons had been confiscated.

The military's spokesperson announced earlier on Friday that the armed forces had arrested 60 during festivities in Ramses.

Morsi supporters announced they would be holding a week of demonstrations all over Egypt protesting the violent dispersal of the Rabaa Al-Adawiya and Al-Nahda Square sit-ins Wednesday.

Over 800 people were killed and thousands injured when the police dispersed protest camps of Morsi supporters in Cairo's Nasr City district and Giza and the subsequent festivities between police and Morsi loyalists.

Egypt police arrests two Brotherhood leaders in Daqahliya governorate
[Al Ahram] Egyptian police forces tossed in the slammer
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
Moslem Brüderbund leaders Ibrahim Abu Ouf and Ahmed Saad in the Delta governorate of Daqahliya after storming their homes Monday morning, the organization's Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) announced.
Abu Ouf is the secretary-general of the party in Daqahliya.

The party has also announced that thus far over 150 members of the Brotherhood in Daqahliya have been jugged
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
on charges of vandalism and rioting.

Security forces have rounded up several Brotherhood leaders in the wake of the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi by the military in July.

Hundreds of protesters have also been detained during and after the forcible dispersal of the two pro-Morsi sit-ins in Cairo on Wednesday, in which hundreds were killed and injured.

Moslem Brüderbund lawyer Mustafa El-Demeery previously claimed that the number of Morsi supporters arrested since Wednesday amounts to over 3,500.

Boko Haram chief shot, may have died: Nigerian army
[Al Ahram] Nigeria's army said Monday that the leader of Islamist Death Eater group Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
, Abubakar Shekau, may have died following a gunshot wound from a clash with soldiers.

Intelligence reports "available to the (military) revealed that Abubakar Shekau, the most dreaded and wanted Boko Haram forces of Evil leader, may have died," a statement said.

"It is greatly believed that Shekau might have died between 25 July to 3 August 2013."

According to the statement, Shekau, declared a "global terrorist" by the US government, was shot on June 30 during a clash with troops at a Boko Haram camp in the Sambisa forest in northeastern Nigeria.

It said he was then clandestinely taken over the border into Cameroon for treatment. The army statement was contradictory, first saying that Shekau "may have died" while at other points implying that he was indeed dead.

Shekau has been considered the leader of the main Islamist Death Eater faction of Boko Haram. The group's insurgency has left at least 3,600 people dead since 2009, including killings by the security forces.

A total of seven individuals have been killed in ongoing drug and gang related violence in southern Chihuahua municipalities according to several Mexican news accounts.

Three unidentified individuals were found shot to death in Jimenez municipality Sunday, according to a news account posted on the website of El Sol de Parral news daily.

The victims were found stuffed inside an SUV following a reported shootout in an area of Jimenez city near the intersection of calles Allende and 10th. A fourth victim was also found who had been wounded.

The news account said that gunfire had been reported in several neighborhoods just prior to the discovery of the victims' bodies.

A fourth shooting victim was reported Sunday night in Jimenez, this time a local drug lord identified as Uriel Canton AKA El Doctor, according to a news brief posted on the website of La Polaka news daily. Sr. Canton was found shot to death on Bulevar Oscar Floes.

Meanwhile in Parral, a father and his son were beaten to death Sunday night, according to a news account in El Sol de Parral. The incident took place when suspects traveling aboard a truck stopped and attacked the men, beating them to death using stones.

The victims were identified as Jesus José Chaparro Cereceres, 38 and his son, José Rodolfo Chaparro Saenz.

In Batopilas municipality Friday a man was found shot to death, according to a separate news account in El Sol de Parral.

Miguel Renteria Mancinas, 28, reportedly left his residence in the village of Casa Viejas. He was found among some rocks on a road between Batopilas and Satevo. Several spent cartridge casings for AK-47 and 9mm weapons were found at the scene.

Also on Friday in Guadalupe y Calvo municipality five individuals including two children were shot and wounded in a shootout at a dance. The problem started in the village of Gallinas at around 0100 hrs when two men began to fight over a woman. At one point they both pulled pistols and fired.

The wounded were identified as Filiberto Flores Chaparro, 22, Ubaldo Flores Bojorquez, 23, Leonarda Ramos Ayala, 35, Miguel Angel Cota Ramos, 13, and Elmer Cota Ramos, 11.

In Camargo municipality Friday three men were detained for a number of crimes, including drug sales and auto theft. The detaineess were identified in a news account in El Sol de Parral as Hector Garza Leyva, 33, Eduardo Solis, 28, and Francisco Garcia Coronado, 27.

The arrests took place when state police observed a double parked car in Villas del Sol colony in Camargo. Police also seized one stolen vehicle, one .45 caliber semiautomatic pistol and a quantity of crack cocaine that had been divided, presumably for sale.

Finally, Monday the Chihuahua state Fiscalia General del Estado (FGE) announced an investigation into the disappearance of 12 individuals in southern Chihuahua state, according to a news account on the website of El Diario de Juarez.

Carlos Manuel Salas announced that most of the disappearances took place in the western Chihuahua sierras, where criminal gangs have been recruiting shooters. According to the news report, Manuel Salas said that not all the disappearances were from illegal checkpoints and carjackings.

Travel in southern Chihuahua, especially around the sierras of western Chihuahua has been hazardous especially for males, so much so that some bus drivers refuse to take on those passengers for fear of illegal checkpoints maintained by criminal gangs in the area looking for new recruits.

India-Pakistan
Pak Army enters Chilas to conduct targeted operation
[Dawn] Pakistain Army on Saturday, for the first time entered into the remote northern town of Chilas, headquarters of Diamer District, 128 KM off Gilgit, to conduct an operation to arrest myrmidons behind killing of security officials and other terrorist activities.

"Troops of Pakistain Army have entered into the city and it is totally cordoned off and some four localities were searched out for particular people," an official of administration said requesting not to be named.

He disclosed that only the top military officials were leading the operation so entire details about what has been achieved so far is neither known by administration nor police had any idea.

An army colonel, a captain and a senior superintendent of police (SSP), investigating the June 23 killing of nine foreign tourists and one of their Pak guides in the area, were killed on August 6.

Victims of the mountain assault included climbers from China, Lithuania, Nepal, Slovakia, Ukraine and one person with joint US-Chinese citizenship. One Chinese climber had escaped the attack.

Helicopters of Army Aviation kept hovering over the small town while exit and entry points of the city were sealed and people coming from far flung parts faced hardship to get access to hospitals.

People in this remote area spent the Eid Day inside their homes after gathering at the congregation and offering prayers because the city was heavily flooded with troops.

"It is unique and unusual so people got scared and preferred to remain at home because movements of the residents were already restricted by the troops in the heart of city where they initiated an operation," a local news hound, Muhammad Aslam told Dawn.com on phone.

The markets were closed and intra city movements were also restricted but people had access to hospital with patients but only inside the town. However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
some shops were opened in the late evening, said a resident.

Dwellers of the town were experiencing a new phenomenon which they never thought of in their lives as military troops kept patrolling in the town and people saw them from the windows of their homes.

The prayers leader in the town of Chilas, who led the prayers on Eid Congregation, Maulana Muhammad Ayaz came down hard on those who were behind attack on foreigners and three high profile security officials.

"How can we say they are Musselmens? They are not even human. We strongly condemn the barbaric acts and want government to push them behind bars," he spoke to the huge crowd.

"We are with the government, and they should have been placed in durance vile
I ain't sayin' nuttin' widdout me mout'piece!
," he continued. "May all of them go to hell," he cursed. "How they can justify shedding blood of innocent humans."

Separately, in an usual move another place Darel valley, some 80 KMs west of Chilas, Brugi village, witnessed arrival of troops who cordoned off the area and looked for some men.

The operation was led by Muhammad Navid, ASP Head Quarters Chilas, recently given charge of the Superintendent of Police following liquidation of the Senior Superintendent of Police Hilal Ahmed.

Contact could not be established with Darel valley due to telephone network problem and situation could not be learnt.

Police remained tight lipped and did not leak any information regarding the operation while administration officials avoided phone calls unlike their routine.

It looked like either things were not in their hand or they were directed to keep secret until a specific time the information about what has been achieved so far.

Both the administration and Police sounded reluctant to share information and insisted to wait and see which way the wind blows. "You see we have really no idea as to what is going on as search is being conducted people are taken into custody but we can't tell you the number of detainees and who are arrested until and unless we ourselves come to know," a police official said seeking complete anonymity.

"May be seniors or the head of administration of the district are in position to tell what has been done so far," he said.

However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
another Police official said GB scouts, Frontier Constabulary and Police Force were also assign various duties. "The only thing I can tell you four localities in the town, namely KKH area, Jalil Muhallah, Shaheen Kowt and Takkia points are searched hitherto," said the official wanting not to be named because he was not authorised to be quoted anywhere.

Men behind 'Nanga Parbat massacre' arrested
[Dawn] The Diamer Police on Monday claimed a major breakthrough in the investigation of the Nanga Parbat massacre by arresting over 20 attackers following a targeted operation.

The Nanga Parbat massacre took place in late June this year when ten people including foreign climbers and a Pak cook were bumped off at the base camp.

"We have tossed in the clink
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
some 20 men in connection with the killings of locals and foreigners. We reached the hideouts of the Death Eaters involved in the liquidation of security officials, foreign tourists and sectarian killings on Karakoram Highway and Naran-Kaghan road (Lolo Sar) after tremendous efforts," Superintendent of Police Diamer District Muhammad Navid said.

"These men also carried out sectarian killings during 2012 in Harban Das, Lolo Sar points in which Shia passengers were lined up after identification and rubbed out," he informed.

He added that men were behind the killings of foreign tourists in Diamori Point of Bunar Das and the Sherlocks of Nanga Parbat massacre including a SSP, a colonel and a captain were also traced.

He lauded the joint efforts of Pak Army, law enforcement agencies and police in apprehending the criminals and added: "The intelligence agencies played a pivotal role during the operation."

"In another two days, we will reveal more details about the Death Eaters that we have arrested. Due to the sensitivity of the issue, we can't give out anymore information," the official said.

He added that the arrested individuals would be tried in Diamer district court and none of them would be sent to any other place.

Iraq
Kurdish refugees stream into northern Iraq
Tens of thousands of Syrian Kurds swarmed across a bridge into neighboring Iraq's northern self-ruled Kurdish region over the past few days in one of the biggest waves of refugees since the rebellion against President Bashar Assad began, U.N. officials said Monday.

The sudden exodus of around 30,000 Syrians amid the summer heat has created desperate conditions and left aid agencies and the regional government struggling to accommodate them, illustrating the huge strain the 2 1/2-year-old Syrian conflict has put on neighboring countries.
The mostly Kurdish men, women and children who made the trek join some 1.9 million Syrians who already have found refuge abroad from Syria's relentless carnage.

"This is an unprecedented influx of refugees, and the main concern is that so many of them are stuck out in the open at the border or in emergency reception areas with limited, if any, access to basic services," said Alan Paul, emergency team leader for the Britain-based charity Save the Children.

"The refugee response in Iraq is already thinly stretched, and close to half of the refugees are children who have experienced things no child should," he said, adding that thousands of refugees were stranded at the border, waiting to be registered.

The U.N. said the reason for this flow, which began five days ago and continued unabated Monday, is unclear.
I have no doubt that the U.N. is unable to figure it out...
But Kurdish areas in northeastern Syria have been engulfed by fighting in recent months between Kurdish militias and Islamic extremist rebel factions with links to al-Qaida. Dozens have been killed.

Following the assassination of a prominent Kurdish leader late last month, a powerful Kurdish militia said it was mobilizing to expel Islamic extremists.

"Syrian refugees are still pouring into Iraq's northern Kurdish region in huge numbers, and most of them are women and children," said Youssef Mahmoud, a spokesman for the U.N. refugee agency in Iraq's Kurdish region. "Today, some 3,000 Syrian refugees crossed the borders, and that has brought the number to around 30,000 refugees since Thursday."

The latest wave has brought the overall number of Syrian refugees in the Kurdish region to around 195,000, he added.

The U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees has set up an emergency transit camp in Irbil, the capital of Iraq's Kurdish autonomous region, to house some of the new arrivals. Some of the refugees were said to be staying in mosques or with family or friends who live in the area, according to the agency. UNHCR said it is sending 15 truckloads of supplies _ 3,100 tents, two pre-fabricated warehouses and thousands of jerry cans to carry water _ from its regional stockpile in Jordan. It said the shipment should arrive by the end of the week.

Kurds are Syria's largest ethnic minority, making up more than 10 percent of the country's 23 million people. They are centered in the poor northeastern regions of Hassakeh and Qamishli, wedged between the borders of Turkey and Iraq. There are also several predominantly Kurdish neighborhoods in the capital, Damascus, and Syria's largest city, Aleppo.

Bahzad Ali Adam, deputy governor of Iraq's Dahuk province, which borders Syria, said the latest flow will put more strain on the budget and public services in the region, which is also home to thousands of mainly Iraqi Arabs and Christians who have fled the violence in other parts of the country.

"The refugees need place to live, food and health services," Adam, who heads the operation room to receive Syrian refugees, said in a phone interview from Baghdad.

Earlier this month, the president of Iraq's autonomous Kurdish region, Massoud Barzani, vowed to defend Syria's Kurds. He gave no details on how he would do so, but Iraqi Kurdistan boasts a powerful and experienced armed force known as the peshmerga.

Kurds = Ancient Medes from the Bible. Kurd culture extends back to the Bronze Age. IIRC emerging after the fall of the Babylonian and Assyrian empires. Jews, Persians, Kurds - have all been around for about the same amount of time - a history major may take issue with the accuracy of the statement - but as a generality, it rings true.

Six killed in north Iraq attacks
[Al Ahram] Attacks on Monday killed six people in Iraq, as gunnies defied massive government operations to stem some of the worst violence to have hit the country in five years.

Security forces have mounted some of the biggest operations targeting Death Eaters since the 2011 withdrawal of American troops, but analysts and diplomats say Iraq is not tackling the root causes of the unrest.

Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki has nevertheless vowed to press on with the campaign in a bid to combat the country's worst bloodshed since 2008, with more than 3,500 people killed since the start of this year and the interior ministry describing Iraq as a "battleground".

Monday's attacks were concentrated in djinn-infested Mosul, a predominantly Sunni Arab city in northern Iraq that has long been one of the country's most violent areas.

Three workers in a carpentry shop were rubbed out by myrmidons, while two coppers were bumped off in a pre-dawn attack on a checkpoint, officials said.

Gunmen also killed a man from the small Kurdish sect known as Shabak outside his house in djinn-infested Mosul.

The 30,000-strong Shabak community is present in 35 villages in Nineveh province near the border with Turkey, with many members wanting to join the autonomous Kurdish region of northern Iraq.

The Shabak people speak a distinct language and largely follow a faith that is a blend of Shia Islam and local beliefs.

The community was persecuted under ousted Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, and after the 2003 US-led invasion of Iraq they were targeted numerous times by Al-Qaeda.

Also in djinn-infested Mosul, security forces said on Monday that they tossed in the calaboose
Drop the rod and step away witcher hands up!
15 people on terrorism-related charges, and found a cache of weapons and bombs to the east of the city.

South of djinn-infested Mosul, security forces also claimed to have found four spy drones equipped with cameras ostensibly used to observe military and other sensitive sites. They did not give details on the capabilities of the drones, or whether they had been in use.

some two weeks ago in Nablus a Paleostinian man in his 20s, most likely just as he was about to travel to a city in central Israel, where he was planning to perpetrate attacks with a knife.

The arrest was made by an IDF Givati unit in an internet-café in Nablus, where the suspect allegedly received orders from his handlers who are members of a Gazoo Strip terror group.

The suspect was taken to questioning and an indictment is expected to filed against him in the coming weeks. According to preliminary investigation, he was planning to stab a passerby.

The IDF suspects that the suspect was taking advantage of the relatively easy crossing between Israel and the West Bank during Ramadan.

Al-Asir Supporter Involved in the Naameh Car Bombing Ring
[An Nahar] Security information revealed on Monday that some members of the boom-mobileing ring jugged
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
on Sunday are supporters of Islamic holy man Ahmed al-Asir, the As Safir daily quoted well informed sources on condition of anonymity.

Eight people, of Lebanese and Paleostinian nationalities, were found involved in the scheme to detonate a booby-trapped car found in Naameh neighborhood in South of Leb in another location, the source added.

The confessions of the car-bombing ring helped the security agencies seize the Audi vehicle that was rigged with explosives and was set to be detonated in another area.

Saturday afternoon security agencies seized the car filled with 250 kilograms of explosives near the municipality building in Naameh.

The car carried fake license plate numbers and contained five barrels of TNT, kaboom, fuses and detonators along with a device to remotely detonate it.

All the people involved in the scheme are under monitoring, and Sherlocks have circulated their photos in a bid to tighten their movements, the source told the daily.

The seized car included large quantities of explosives which leads to the belief that it was to be used in several kabooms in different regions across Leb, the source said.

The Naameh plot was to be the springboard for the attacks, he added.

Asir's supporters opened fire on an army checkpoint, late last month, leaving around 18 soldiers and more than 20 gunnies dead.

The gunbattles concentrated in the area of Bilal Bin Rabah Mosque and nearby buildings in Abra.

Fighters of Hizbullah played a key role in the government's recapture in June of the rebel bastion of Qusayr, near the Lebanese border.

The report of Nisr's killing comes after Hizbullah chief sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said he was ready to go to Syria to fight hard boyz he accused of staging a deadly car kaboom last Thursday in the southern suburbs of Beirut, a bastion of his movement.

According to a final count, 27 people were killed in the attack.

Asir Says Ruwais Bomb 'Normal Result' of Hizbullah Intervention in Syria
[An Nahar] Fugitive Islamist holy man Ahmed al-Asir on Monday noted that the deadly Ruwais bombing was "a normal result of the crimes committed by (Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan) Nasrallah and his party against our brothers in Syria."

"Nasrallah used a provocative rhetoric to secure further hegemony over the Lebanese," Asir said, referring to the speech delivered by Nasrallah in the wake of the blast.

"Several critics of Nasrallah, who had accused him of dragging Leb into an inferno, have swallowed their tongues due to their cowardice and fear," the holy man added in an audio message posted on the Internet, the third since he went into hiding after the deadly Abra battle.

He pointed out that "the Dahieh bombing is a normal result of the crimes committed by Nasrallah and his party and their supporters against our brothers in Syria -- in Qusayr, before the Qusayr battle and after the Qusayr battle."

Asir accused Nasrallah of seeking to "take advantage of the Dahieh blast" to "threaten all the Lebanese, especially the Sunni community."

He claimed that Syrian rebels did not fire "a single gunshot against Hizbullah or any of the Lebanese prior to the Qusayr battle."

"By accusing the Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who most be killed...
s, Nasrallah is using a term that can be interpreted in several ways with the aim of subjugating all the Lebanese and justifying his crimes," Asir added.

"You said through your deceptive rhetoric that whoever accuses Sunnis (of the Ruwais blast) is an Israeli agent. This rhetoric has fallen, as you are rejecting both the liberal al-Mustaqbal
... the Future Movement, political party led by Saad Hariri...
Movement and the religious Sunnis who stand against you," he went on to say, addressing Hizbullah's leader.

Asir warned his "brothers" in Majdal Anjar, Tariq al-Jedideh, Tripoli

, Akkar and Dinniyeh that Nasrallah "will use the intelligence agencies to fight you under the excuse of Takfiris."

"Enough with your lies ... our brothers (in Syria) are not idiots, the idiot is the one who has stood by the butcher in Syria and jusitifed the crimes of the criminal (Bashar) Assad," he added, addressing Nasrallah.

Eight people, of Lebanese and Paleostinian nationalities, were found involved in the scheme to detonate a booby-trapped car that was found in the town of Naameh, south of Beirut, As Safir daily quoted well informed sources as saying on condition of anonymity.

All the people involved in the alleged scheme are under monitoring, and Sherlocks have circulated their photos in a bid to tighten their movements, the source told the daily.

The Naameh plot was to be the first of a series of attacks, the source added.

Asir's supporters opened fire on an army checkpoint, late last month, leaving around 18 soldiers and more than 20 gunnies dead.

The gunbattles concentrated in the area of Bilal Bin Rabah Mosque and nearby buildings in Abra.

On Thursday, 25 people were killed and around 300 others maimed in a powerful boom-mobileing that rocked the Beirut southern suburb of Ruwais, a Hizbullah stronghold.

General Security Circulates Pictures of Terror Suspects, Confirms Arrest of Three
[An Nahar] The General Directorate of General Security on Monday circulated the pictures of two suspects accused of forming a "terrorist network" that was allegedly plotting to detonate the car bomb that was discovered Saturday in Naameh.

"An Audi car containing 250 kilograms of explosives was seized in the Naameh area on August 17," the directorate confirmed in a statement.

"Lebanese national T. B. T. and the Paleostinians A. H. S., aka Abu Youssef, and his brother Kh. H. S. are being held at the directorate on charges of forming a terrorist network, conducting acts of sabotage in the country, and plotting to stage a kaboom through the seized car," it added.

The directorate said the rest of the network's members are on the run, identifying two of them as "Lebanese national Mohammed Qassem al-Ahmed, born in Beirut in 1983 and a resident of Haret al-Naameh, and Lebanese national Saeed Mohammed Bahri, born in Beirut in 1985 and a resident of Dawhat Aramoun."

The General Security circulated pictures of the two men, urging all citizens who spot them to report to the nearest General Security post or dial 01/612401. It promised that the identities of those who submit information will remain confidential.

On Saturday, a car filled with 250 kilograms of explosives was discovered near the municipality building in Naameh.

The car carried a fake license plate and contained five boxes of TNT, an unidentified explosive substance, fuses and a device for remote detonation.
