Tripoli elects Irish-Libyan mayor
[MAGHAREBIA] Mahdi al-Harati, an Irish-Libyan who commanded rebel groups in Libya and Syria, was elected mayor of Tripoli on Wednesday (August 6th), AFP reported, citing state news agency Lana.
Faith and inshallah!
Al-Harati, 41, who spent 20 years in Ireland and married an Irish woman, was chosen by the Libyan capital's new municipal council, voted in on May 17th.

He returned to Libya in 2011, founding a brigade in western Libya that fought its way to the capital.

MPs order ceasefire in Tripoli, Benghazi
[MAGHAREBIA] Libya's new House of Representatives ordered an unconditional ceasefire for rival militias fighting in Tripoli and Benghazi, Libya Herald reported on Thursday (August 7th). The measure — the first issued by the new body since convening in Tobruk on Monday — is to come into force within 24 hours. The ceasefire will be monitored by the United Nation, the MPs said.

Misrata demonstrates against new parliament
[MAGHAREBIA] A day after MPs from Misrata boycotted the first session of the Libya legislature in Tobruk, Misrata residents on Tuesday (August 5th) erupted into the streets to denounce Libya's new House of Representatives as "illegitimate".

Some Misrata demonstrators also expressed support for the recent operation that destroyed Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
International Airport and caused 47,000 people to flee their homes.

News about the protest puzzled other Libyans.

"Misrata and its people are very strange," said Mahmoud Ali, a 47-year old lawyer. "There have been battles and liquidations for a month in Benghazi and Tripoli is burning because of gangs."

"They have stopped water, electricity and petrol supplies to the capital and have polluted its air with the smell of explosives," he said.

He also deplored their lack of compassion for Libyans in other areas.

"Misrata didn't stage a single demonstration against the killings of people in Tripoli and Benghazi. However,
the difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits...
they are now staging demonstrations under the pretext that the parliament is not constitutional! This demonstration is against the entire Libyan people," he said.

For his part, 34-year-old lawyer Mansour Mohammed al-Dakini called on the United Nations
...aka the Oyster Bay Chowder and Marching Society...
to "besiege Misrata by land, sea and air".

"I call on the new House of Representatives to take firm decisions against that city, which has been destroying Tripoli and wreaking havoc across our country," he added.

Fatima al-Farjani, a teacher from Tripoli, said she worried about the destruction of the capital at the hands of Misrata.

"They even publicly admitted that they're responsible for shelling the oil storage tanks and destroying the capital airport under the pretext of liberating Libya!" she said. "But who do they want to liberate Tripoli from?"

Butcher Saad Mohammed told Magharebia: "I'm still in Tripoli because I don't have enough money to escape to Tunisia. I stayed with my children at the farm, but it's really scary in Tripoli."

He added that terrorist groups were "mercilessly shelling all buildings and residential neighbourhoods".

"They want to destroy Tripoli out of greed; they want to make Misrata the capital of Tripoli; they want Misrata to rise over the corpses of all Libyans. All Libyan cities are outraged with Misrata and its people who forgot that they were our Libyan brothers," he said.

"Unfortunately, Misrata has forgotten the assistance provided to it by Cyrenaica when Qadaffy besieged them; we sent them men and weapons that liberated them from the siege," teacher Fathia Abdurrahman said.

Misratans "have completely destroyed Tripoli" she said. "Don't they have any wise men among them?" she asked.

India-Pakistan
Widening of Zarb-i-Azb operation likely
[DAWN] The government has asked people in Mirali and Shawal sub-divisions of the conflict-hit North Wazoo Agency to leave their homes amid reports of expansion of ground offensive to other areas.

The people of Razmak, Spinwam, Shewa, Shawal, Eidek and other areas of the agency were exempted from evacuation before the launch of Zarb-e-Azb
..the Pak offensive against Qaeda in Pakistain and the Pak Taliban in North Wazoo. The name refers to the sword of the Prophet (PTUI!)...
on June 15.

The authorities issued evacuation notices to the people of Shawal a few days ago. They have been asked to move to Bannu.

According to officials, the political administration asked about 4,000 families of Eidek, some seven kilometres west of Mirali, to vacate their homes after Saturday. The notices triggered resentment among the residents of the area and they refused to follow the orders.

The military operation has already forced over 52,000 families in Miranshah
... headquarters of al-Qaeda in Pakistain and likely location of Ayman al-Zawahiri. The Haqqani network has established a ministate in centered on the town with courts, tax offices and lots of madrassas...
and Mirali to move to Bannu. Initially, over 92,000 families were registered as IDPs but their number has been reduced after verification by the National Database and Registration Authority.

The army has claimed that Mirali, Miranshah and adjacent villages have been cleared of bully boys. Over 500 local and foreign bad boyz were potted. Air Force planes have been attacking bully boy hideouts in Shawal, where hundreds of local and foreign Death Eaters are reported to have moved in after the operation was launched in Miranshah.

An official in the office of Bannu's deputy commissioner said evacuation of civilians from the mountainous Shawal area, near the Afghan border, would start on Friday. They will arrive at the Sidgai checkpost in Frontier Region Bannu for registration — mandatory for receiving cash and food assistance.

The Fata Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) has deputed staff at the checkpost where about 4,000 families are expected to come from Eidek. An FDMA official said that arrangements had been made at the checkpost, including registration of IDPs, provision of cooked food, water and distribution of SIM cards. "We are prepared to tackle the new influx," he added.

According to sources, the political authorities had issued notices to the residents of Eidek on Wednesday night, asking them to pack up their belongings. The residents accused the government of backing out of its commitment. A jirga of elders will be held on Friday to decide whether or not to leave homes.

An elder, Maulvi Mohammad Alam, told Dawn that before the operation Beautiful Downtown Peshawar
...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly known as the North-West Frontier Province), administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire.
Corps Commander Lt Gen Khalid Rabbani and the General Officer Commanding had assured them that they would not be evacuated.

The notices caused panic among the residents, he said. "This decision is not acceptable to the people and they will not vacate their homes."

Maulvi Alam accused the authorities of violating the agreement under which the people had assured the corps commander that they will protect the area.

There was no justification for evacuation, he said, adding that the government had allowed transportation of rations and other basic commodities to the residents of Eidek and two convoys carrying food were recently sent to the village.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Hamas says it executed people on suspicion of Israel collaboration
[Haaretz] A temporary cease-fire between Israel and Paleostinian factions in Gazoo entered its third and final day on Thursday, as delegations from both sides continued to negotiate a more permanent truce in Cairo.

Just hours ahead of the end of the 72-hour truce, a senior Israeli official said no agreement had been reached to extend it, a senior Paleostinian official said the talks had stalled, while Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, threatened to renew its fire if its cease-fire demands aren't met.

The Israel Defense Forces withdrew its remaining forces from Gazoo after the cease-fire came into effect on Tuesday at 8 A.M. and said it has demolished all of Hamas' known tunnels, some of which have been used to breach Israel's border and carry out attacks. Officials in Gazoo say more than 1,800 Paleostinians were killed during the operation, most of them civilians. Sixty-four IDF soldiers and three Israeli civilians have been killed since fighting began on July 8.

Hamas Says It Will Continue Fight After Ceasefire
[TIME] Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, reiterated late Thursday that it plans to continue fighting after a temporary cease-fire ends Friday morning, if its demands are not met.

"The resistance is ready to pay the price and the people are behind the resistance," Abu Obaida, a front man for the military wing of Hamas, said on Hamas-run television, CNN reports. "We are ready for a long war."

Earlier Thursday, Hamas held a public rally in Gazoo City and a top Hamas official, Mushir al-Masri, declared to the crowd that Hamas would continue to fight until the seven-year-old blockade on Gazoo by Israel and Egypt is lifted, the News Agency that Dare Not be Named reports.

A three-day truce mediated by Egypt has largely quieted the three-week-long conflict that killed more than 1,860 Paleostinians, mostly civilians, and 64 Israeli soldiers and three civilians in Israel. The truce is scheduled to end Friday at 8 a.m. local time, though representatives of Hamas and other Paleostinian factions are in Cairo indirectly negotiating with Israel for a permanent ceasefire.

But hours before the ceasefire is set to end, talks have faltered, with Hamas demanding an end to the blockade and Israel saying the gunnies must first disarm, a condition Hamas has so far rejected.

#1  Flood the place with informers. Hamas is obviously very afraid of Informers. They appear to feel very vulnerable. And Arabs are notoriously easy to buy.

And after losing and getting their shots off and accomplishing very little in the way of victories ( not that they can't "claim" to have won..since they always do a Baghdad Bob...its SO Moslem).

And there are going to be so MANY happy happy Palestinians who will be a bit ( a bit ) partial to informing on Hamas since so may Palestinians aren't stupid about HOW Hamas fights a war.

And Mossad isn't exactly a beginner at buying Arabs and exploiting the mindset.
It isn't over until its over. And the Israelis don't lose wars. Arabs do.

"the people are behind the resistance" ? yeh, I will just bet they are.

#2  HAMAS knows ISRAEL will not militarily permanently re-occupy the Gaza Strip unless it is willing to risk being seen as unilaterally violating the 1979 Accords between Begin + Sadat -DITTO AS PER EGYPT.

Gotta feel sorry for the Paleos.

PALEOS = MIDDLE EAST'S NORTH KOREANS = JOB IS TO GET KILLED EITHER BY ISRAEL + IDF, ANDOR BY THEIR LARGER ANTI-ISRAELI, ANTI-PALEO MUSLIM NEIGHBORS IN THEIR STRUGGLE OR WARS AGZ ISRAEL.

The UNRWA is Hamas
The UNRWA is not an international organization operating in the Middle East. Effectively it's a local Arab Muslim organization funded and regulated internationally. Since the UNRWA classifies 80% of Gazans as "refugees", it administers the biggest welfare state in the world on their behalf. Like the Palestinian Authority, the UNRWA's welfare state is run locally and funded internationally.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran to Unveil its Own 'Iron Dome' Style Defense System
[FREEBEACON] Iranian military leaders announced on Wednesday that Tehran is readying new mid-range and long-range missile defense systems reminiscent of Israel's Iron Dome system, which destroys rockets in mid-air before they strike the ground.

Brigadier General Farzad Esmayeeli, commander of Iran's Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense Base, said on Wednesday that the latest defense systems will go online on September 22, according to comments made Wednesday to Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency.

The missile defense announcement comes as the successes of Israel's Iron Dome system are featured prominently in Western media outlets. Israeli officials have hailed the highly advanced system for protecting lives during the most recent conflict with Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, by knocking many of the terror group's attacks off course.

Esmayeeli, who did not reveal many technical details about the new equipment, said that the mid-range and long-range defense systems will be connected to Iran's larger military apparatus.

"These missile systems will include combined systems, artillery, and radar systems, other new systems," he was quoted as saying by Fars." The long-range missiles to go on display on September 22 are the ones which have been optimized by Iranian weapons experts and specialists."

As the B.O. regime continues nuclear talks with Iran through November, Tehran's military forces have continued to build up their cache of advanced weaponry, including drones and sophisticated missiles.

Esmayeeli revealed that the construction of new drones and war planes had been fully authorized and paid for by the Iranian government, which is set to see another $2.8 billion cash infusion over the next several months as part of the deal reached last month to extend talks.

The construction of "new [manned] planes and death droids" also is in the works, according to Esmayeeli.

Michael Rubin, a former Pentagon adviser on Iran and Iraq for the George W. Bush administration, said Iran has made "great strides" in its missile technology, though it is unlikely Tehran could rival the technology employed in Iron Dome.
