Rand Paul = Democrats' Enemy #1
[THEDAILYBEAST] Democrats fundraise and campaign by exploiting concerns about right-wing extremism. But at least at the moment, what they apparently fear most is the rise of a candidate who could potentially poach enough of their supporters to beat them in 2016.
Rand Paul has not yet formally announced he is running for the Republican nomination. But with a lead in GOP polls and already laying the foundation for the infrastructure of a campaign, the junior senator from Kentucky is considered the early front-runner, one who is transparent about his desire to appeal to a broad range of voters—and that has Democrats worried.

For the 10th time in two years, Paul arrived on Monday in Iowa, where the first presidential caucuses will be held in 17 months, to try out his message on a three-day, multi-city, headline-generating tour.

Over the course of the trip, the Democratic National Committee sent out 10 blurbs about Paul's every move and utterance. "What it can tell you as a political observer is that they recognize what we're trying to point out, which is Rand is the Republican who has the best chance of keeping and energizing the base while going into their constituencies," a senior aide for Paul told The Daily Beast.

Having only run for office the one time, in 2010, Paul is not the most experienced of campaigners—so heading out early seems intended as batting practice. But as the senator is the only likely potential candidate so publicly engaging in this sort of preliminary campaigning, there has been no way for him to practice unnoticed. While he has been testing the waters, the left has been testing its attacks.

Democrats began hitting Paul on Monday morning, first for fundraising with Iowa Rep. Steve King, who has entertained the idea of exploring impeachment (something Paul has said he would not consider); next for claiming he never proposed ending foreign aid to Israel (which he openly supported doing for years); and then for saying Republicans don't want to ban birth control and that he is "in favor of the concept" of a federal ban on gay marriage.

Democrat John Walsh Withdraws From Senate Race Amidst Plagiarism Scandal
[FREEBEACON] Democrat John Walsh withdrew from the U.S. Senate race in Montana on Thursday in the midst of a scandal over widespread plagiarism in his final paper at the Army War College.

"I am ending my campaign so that I can focus on fulfilling the responsibility entrusted to me as your U.S. senator," Walsh said in a statement. "You deserve someone who will always fight for Montana, and I will."

The New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...
reported last month that Walsh had plagiarized large portions of the paper that earned him a masters degree. Subsequent attempts to explain away the plagiarism were panned by election watchers in the state.

Website Attacks Gardner For Two Hip Surgeries He Didn't Have
[FREEBEACON] The Colorado Independent falsely reported on Thursday that Republican Rep. Cory Gardner (Colo.) had two hip surgeries by the age of 37, claiming that his medical history undermines his position against Obamacare
... aka the Affordable Care Act, an ineptly designed and worse executed piece of legislation designed to bring 17 percent of the U.S. economy under the direct control of the government. The previous iteration, known as Hillarycare, was laughed out of Washington. This stinker was passed on a party-line vote without being read...

The Colorado Independent news hound confused Rep. Gardner, who is challenging Democratic incumbent Sen. Mark Udall this fall, with Rep. Diana DeGette (D., Colo.), who is 57. The story has since been removed.

Mike Littwin, the "fair and unbalanced" columnist for the Independent, tweeted out the story, saying, "Gardner and the pre-existing condition: Hip surgeries complicate charged health-policy cancellation story," with a link to the post.

Littwin later apologized for the story, which was written by another writer, John Tomasic.

"Embarrassing. Egg on face," Littwin tweeted. "The Gardner statement on hip surgery was actually DeGette. The Independent really regrets the error."

#3  Littwin is a DICK. An extreme left, moronic, fucking stupid DICK. I;ve met him. And it took all I could muster to keep from punching him quire in the face after about 5 minutes of his self-important smarter-than-you (but dumb as a rock) elitism.

If you ever meet him, save yourself the time -simply spit on him right away, and walk off.

#4  An extreme left, moronic, fucking stupid DICK.

I like it, but it's a bit redundant. The new term is.... 'insignificant' with an knobby, arthritic finger wag. True elitist always wag a finger.

#4  OK, it's racist. But just because Baraq is half black doesn't mean he can't get any respect. He can't get any respect because he's Baraq, lazy, incompetent and dishonest.

Fremont Sex-Ed Textbook With Topics On Bondage, Vibrators Along With Explicit Diagrams Has Parents Riled"Up
[SANFRANCISCO.CBSLOCAL] More than a 1,000 people have signed an online petition protesting the use of a controversial health education book in the Fremont Unified School District's 9th-grade curriculum.

The book, titled "Your Health Today" is almost 400 pages long and among the subject includes information on bondage, orgasms, vibrators, along with explicit drawings and diagrams.

The text also describes how to buy and use condoms and addresses masturbation, binge-drinking and shows sex organs in various stages of arousal.

"Our high-school students today need all the tools they can have to arm themselves to make the best- informed decision," said the school district's Board President, Lara Calvert-York. Teachers from the district unanimously chose the book to incorporate in classes.

#1  Aw shucks, that ain't nothing, wait until they get to the part in Your Health Today about how Rednecks use vibrators. <--- Real eye opener that!

And of course, how about the part about childcare, you had sex, had a baby and now comes childcare.

#2  Well since they don't teach history anymore they have to spend that time on something. You don't think they would spend it on math or english or anything to develop actual thinking do you?

#3  "Teachers from the district unanimously chose the book to incorporate in classes."

Looks like they have (6) schools for the "Freshmen" (High School 9th-Graders). Maybe (2) instructors per course = 12 people I wouldn't want to have at the bottom of the stairs as my kid was ascending.

#4  My children have two sets of text books. One for the classroom and one for home. This was done after lockers were removed because of drugs. You coudln't have them carry all books to every class and then home.

Prediction: In the future, certain books (such as sex ed and some history, and socialogy books) will only have one copy. For the classroom. This will be done for the sake of the environment and kids will love it because it means less homework in those classes.

The real reason would be to keep said books away from parents prying eyes.

#5  Y'all don't think the trend is to pre-loaded kindles? One can already rent/buy college textbooks for the thing, or any device that has the app. The storage requirements are minuscule compared to paper textbooks, the costs are lower, and basic kindles are cheap compared to Pads and such.
