The statement further added that the operations were conducted in the vicinity of Kham Miran area during the operations involving Arclight airstrike.

According to the provincial government, the operations were launched shortly after the ISIS turbans launched a coordinated attack on the security posts.

The anti-government armed turbans and terrorist groups including ISIS loyalists have not commented regarding the report so far.

Nangarhar has been among the relatively calm provinces until recent years as fewer terrorist related incidents were reported from the province since the fall of the Taliban

Taliban attack Afghan bases, kill 30 police in Farah province
[DAWN] Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
fighters attacked Afghan bases in the western province of Farah, killing more than 30 police, officials said on Friday, as the murderous Moslems stepped up their offensive in a region with vital opium smuggling routes into neighbouring Iran.

Farid Bakhtawar, head of the Farah provincial council, said fighters had stormed a police base overnight in Balabuluk, a district that has been under heavy pressure for months, killing at least 23 and wounding three.

In a separate attack in Farah city, Taliban fighters killed 11 police and seized a large quantity of weapons and equipment, he said.

The latest violence underlines the extent of the pressure faced by the Western-backed government of President Ashraf Ghani

Kenya Police Pursue Al-Shabab Suspect Sent To Attack Kenya
[RADIOSHABELLE] The government of Kenya has appealed to the public to help police arrest al-Shabaab
... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...
suspect, who sneaked into the country for a planned attack.

The suspect, Anthony Mbele Munyasya alias Abdalla has recently returned from al-Shabaab training base in Somalia.

Speaking to the media, Police front man Charles Owino said Abdalla was on the run and police are looking for him.

Owino noted the suspect who hails from Kitui County had been deployed into Kenya as part of a group of operatives that were to conduct attacks in Nairobi in February 2018.

The front man said Abdalla, is a highly trained operative, armed and dangerous who has evaded a number of security operations to arrest him.

"Let the public help us get him. He could be hiding in the country," he said.

According to Kenyan Police, the suspect has been fighting alongside the al-Shabaab in Somalia since 2014.

Abdalla is closely associated with Abdimajid Hassan, another terror suspect who is currently facing terror charges for planning to conduct attacks in Nairobi using a Vehicle Borne Explosive Device (VBIED) which was recovered by police in Merti, Isiolo County on January 15, 2018.

Following the arrest of Abdimajit, police have been pursuing Abdalla whom they suspect to be hiding in the country and to carry out terror attacks.

Police have issued an alert ahead of the start of Ramadan period and warned some al-Shabaab members may be planning to strike in the country.

Kenyans have been urged to be vigilant and provide any information that may help stop such plans.

1 killed, 4 wounded in Paris knife attack by man shouting 'Allah Akbar'
[AlAhram] An assailant shouting "Allah Akbar" killed a passer-by in a knife attack that also maimed four others in the heart of Gay Paree late on Saturday before he was rubbed out by police, French authorities said.

The country has been on high alert amid a series of attacks, commissioned or inspired by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. Death Eater group, that has killed more than 240 people since 2015.

La Belle France "will not yield an inch to the enemies of freedom," President Emmanuel Macron said after the attack, praising officers for "neutralizing the terrorist."

The first call to police was placed at 8:47 p.m. local time (1847 GMT), officers were on the scene within five minutes, and the attacker was "neutralized" within nine minutes of that first call, Prime Minister Edouard Philippe told news hounds.

Police union representative Rocco Contento told Rooters that the assailant, after attacking bystanders with a knife, rushed at police shouting "I will kill you, I will kill you!"

He was then shot by the officers.

The attack took place in the heart of the French capital in a district popular with tourists for its many restaurants and cafes, landmark retail stores, and the Gay Paree opera.

Prosecutor Francois Molins told news hounds the police's anti-terrorism unit would launch an investigation, given the aggressor's "mode of operation." The identity of the attacker man was not yet known, officials said early on Sunday.

A picture seen by Rooters, which a source said showed the attacker, showed a bare-chested and bearded young man dressed in black trousers.

The Islamic State group grabbed credit via its Amaq news agency, but provided no proof for its claim.

French Interior Minister Gerard Collomb called it an "odious" attack.

Witnesses described for French media how they saw the assailant running towards coppers who shot him.

"We were told to get into a bar quickly. I was curious and went outside again. Outside, I saw a person on the ground about 200 metres from me. The police, fire brigade and ambulance arrived," one female witness told LCI television. "I could not see anything else after that."

Authorities did not immediately reveal the identity of the victim.

TV footage showed forensic police at the scene.

#2  Paris attacker born in Chechnya, was on radicalism database
The official said the assailant, born in 1997, had French nationality but was born in the largely Muslim Russian republic of Chechnya, where extremism has long simmered. The official wasn't authorized to be publicly named speaking about an ongoing investigation.

The man had no record of arrests or criminal activity, and didn't know his victims, Interior Ministry spokesman Frederic de Lanouvelle told The Associated Press.

...was on the so-called “S file” of people suspected of radicalized views who could pose security risks, the sources said, though he did not have a criminal record.

His parents have been taken into custody. Investigators have not yet said when the man arrived in France.

Many but not all of the people on France’s S file (the “S” stands for security) have been involved in the series of deadly jihadist attacks that have killed some 245 people across the country since 2015.

The watch list contains anyone suspected of being a radical, including potentially dangerous religious extremists but also leftist and far-right activists.

A separate list, the File for the Prevention of Terrorist Radicalization (FSPRT), focuses on people judged to be terror threats.

That list currently has nearly 20,000 people, of whom about half are under active surveillance.

It’s good to see that the police killed the jihadi within ten minutes of the first phone call, but the cost to maintain that level of police presence must be very high. It would be cheaper to send all non-citizens on the S and FSPRT lists back to wherever they came from, and do the same after revoking citizenship of those who acquired it after immigrating.

Citizenship was not intended to be a national suicide pact.

Iraq
Four Hashd al-Sha’abi fighters killed in bomb attack in central Iraq
[PRESSTV] At least four members of the pro-government Popular Mobilization Units have bit the dust and three others sustained injuries when a bomb went off in Iraq's central province of Salahuddin as voting is underway across the country to elect the next parliament.

Colonel Mohammed al-Jubouri, a provincial police source, said the kaboom took place on Saturday as voluntary fighters, better known by the Arabic name Hashd al-Sha’abi, were securing roads leading to polling centers in Mes'hag district, located some 50 kilometers north of the scenic provincial capital Tikrit.

The development came a day after a joint force from Iraqi army forces and Hashd al-Sha’abi fighters raided a hideout of ISIS Takfiri

Death Eaters in Rufai'at area, situated some 80 kilometers southwest of Tikrit, killing six bombers wearing boom belts.

The Iraqi forces carried out the operation following intelligence reports that a group of ISIS Death Eaters were preparing to attack polling stations in several parts of the province during Saturday's elections.

Parliamentary polls kicked off at 7:00 a.m. local time (0400 GMT) as voters lined up to cast their ballots.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
IDF destroys Hamas tunnel in northern Gaza, the 9th in a year
[IsraelTimes] Military says the tunnel was mere meters from Israeli territory; air raid comes after violent riots at Kerem Shalom, latest arson incident started by Molotov cocktail-bearing kites.
Ynet has photos, videos and maps, sez 10 missiles launched at the thing near Beit Hanoun.
The Israeli military said Saturday night that it destroyed a Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, tunnel mere meters away from Israeli territory, hitting the underground structure with a number of Arclight airstrikes.

This was the ninth Gazoo tunnel destroyed by Israel since October 30. Five of them were attack tunnels that crossed the border into Israeli territory, the rest were inside the coastal enclave, more likely used to move fighters and munitions around the Strip undetected.

The Israel Defense Forces said the Hamas "terror tunnel" destroyed in airstrikes on Saturday night ran next to the Erez pedestrian crossing and was meters away from reaching into Israeli territory.

This was the first attack tunnel that the army destroyed inside Gazoo territory, as opposed to the other five that penetrated Israeli territory, the army said.

"The detection of the tunnel and its demolition is part of the ongoing effort to thwart the underground terror by Gazoo-based terror groups headed by the Paleostinian terror group Hamas," the military said, adding that the operation was part of increased efforts to detect tunnels using advanced technological means.

The military added that the tunnel, which originated in Beit Hanoun in the northern Strip, was "neutralized" in the strikes, but not necessarily fully destroyed. IDF spokesperson Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus said the army decided to hit the tunnel with airstrikes, as opposed to more effective ground-based methods, because of a number of operational considerations, including "convenience" and the issues posed by its proximity to the Erez Crossing.

Conricus said the tunnel was approximately one kilometer (0.6 miles) long and had been under construction for several months.

The IDF had been monitoring it for "several weeks" before determining that Saturday night was the appropriate time to destroy it.

Conricus said the construction of this tunnel underneath the Erez Crossing, which Paleostinians use to travel in and out of the Strip, along with Hamas’s attempt in January to dig a tunnel under the Kerem Shalom Crossing, which is used to bring commercial goods and humanitarian aid into Gazoo, was proof of the terrorist group’s "cynicism."

The front man noted that the Erez Crossing would be open on Sunday.

"Hamas continues to pour vast resources into building tunnels and thwarts humanitarian efforts that allow Israel and other countries to help Gazoo residents, instead of investing in developing the Strip," the IDF said in a statement.

Conricus said the tunnel was located using the army’s "new technological capability," which the IDF has said it used to uncover the five cross-border tunnels.

There were no immediate reports of Paleostinian injuries.

The Israeli airstrikes came a day after Paleostinian rioters trashed key infrastructure at the Kerem Shalom crossing, which serves as the only entry point of outside goods into the enclave, causing immense damage, and hours after Paleostinians launched incendiary kites across the border, sparking two brush fires in Israel. Israeli firefighters worked to put out the brush fires.

Earlier Saturday, Israel said it was shuttering the Kerem Shalom crossing. The IDF said the crossing would remain closed until the "extensive damage" caused to the torched gas lines, electricity infrastructure, and a conveyor belt used to transfer goods into the Strip is repaired.

On Saturday night, the army announced it was working to allow a shipment of six trucks full of medical equipment through the Kerem Shalom Crossing on Sunday, despite the damage to the site.

Israel using small remote-controlled airplanes to combat Gaza’s ‘attack kites’
War of the Toys...
[IsraelTimes] Israel is employing small remote-controlled airplanes to battle the phenomenon of incendiary kites in the Gazoo Strip, Hadashot news reported Friday night.

The military is using the planes, armed with cutting knives on their wings, to cut the kites’ wires, thus preventing them from carrying their payload of Molotov cocktails over the border and sparking fires in Israel.

According to the report on Friday the tiny aircraft’s operators managed to down seven kites flown towards Israel.

For the past several weeks, Gazooks have been regularly flying kites outfitted with containers of burning fuel, often including charcoal and bags of sugar to ensure a long, slow burn.

The kite tactic was introduced as part of the weekly "March of Return" demonstrations at the border fence, which began on March 30 and are due to continue through mid-May.

The kites have regularly sparked fires in Israeli fields.
Another Times of Israel article adds:
With the number of kite attacks now reaching as many as 15 per day, military planners have begun implementing new measures to end the practice, including options drawn from the IDF’s responses to rocket launches and other terror attacks. An IDF official told Walla news that the drones destroyed over 40 burning kites throughout the border demonstrations.

9,000 injured and 52 dead in Gaza as a 15 yr old child is killed
[ALMASDARNEWS] A fifteen year old child has been declared dead in hospital after remaining at death's door from a sustained Israeli bullet wound yesterday.

Jamal Afna (15yrs old) became Gazoo’s 52nd Martyr of the non-violent demonstrations that have taken place since the 30th of March. The fifteen year old was shot this Friday near Rafah (Southern Gazoo) by Israeli Snipers, he was unarmed and at a peaceful demonstration.

Yesterday Israel yet again target medical personnel and journalists, taking the number of injured to above 9,000 since the start of the ’Great Return March’ demonstrations.
The number grows like compound interest, ignoring that most of the injuries are stubbed toes and tear gas irritation, while some unknown number of the remaining were counted as they lay screaming on stretchers, but not subtracted when they switched places with their stretcher bearers before the cameras returned.
No Israelis have been injured in these non-violent demonstrations. No Israelis have been killed.
Temper tantrums usually hurt only the one throwing them.

Suicide bomb attacks on three churches in Indonesia, at least 3 11 dead, 15 dozens wounded: Police
[AlAhram] Suicide bombers attacked three churches in Indonesia's second-largest city of Surabaya on Sunday, killing at least three people and wounding 15 others, police said.

Indonesia is the world's largest Moslem-majority country and has seen a recent resurgence in homegrown militancy.

Police told media the attacks were carried out by "jacket wallahs".

"The victims are still being identified," said Frans Barung Mangera, East Java police front man.

Media reports said at one church, a woman with a younger child and a teenager had just entered the church and was being questioned by security when the bomb went kaboom!.

Television images showed toppled cycle of violences and debris scattered around the entrance of one church and police cordoning off areas as crowds gathered.

Authorities were also investigating whether there was an kaboom at a fourth church.

Police ordered the temporary closure of all churches in Surabaya, and a large food festival in the city was cancelled.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attacks.

The bombings come days after Islamist krazed killer prisoners killed five members of an elite counter-terrorism force during a 36-hour standoff at a high security jail on the outskirts of the capital, Jakarta.

Indonesia has had some major successes tackling militancy inspired by al Qaeda's attacks on the United States in 2001.

But there has been a resurgence of Islamist activity in recent years, some of it linked to the rise of Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. group.

The most serious incident was in January 2016 when four suicide bombers and button men attacked a shopping area in central Jakarta.

Churches have also been targeted previously, including near-simultaneous attacks on churches there at Christmas in 2000 that killed about 20 people.
Update from the New York Post at 8:10 a.m. EDT:
Suicide bombers on motorcycles and including a woman with children targeted Sunday Mass congregations in three churches in Indonesia’s second largest city, killing at least 11 people and wounding dozens in one of the worst attacks on the Christian minority, police said.

The first attack struck the Santa Maria Roman Catholic Church in Surabaya, killing four people, including one or more bombers, police spokesman Frans Barung Mangera told reporters at the scene. He said two police officers were among a total of 41 wounded.

The blast was followed by a second explosion minutes later at the Christian Church of Diponegoro and a third at the city’s Pantekosta Church, Mangera said.

A senior police official said the bombings were carried out by at least five suicide bombers, including a veiled woman who had two children with her. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to speak to the media.

A witness described the woman with children, saying she was carrying two bags at the Diponegoro church.

“At first officers blocked them in front of the churchyard but the woman ignored and forced her way inside. Suddenly she hugged a civilian then (the bomb) exploded,” said a civilian guard named Antonius.

“I saw two men riding a motorbike forced their way into the Santa Maria churchyard. One was wearing black pants and one with a backpack,” said Samsia, who uses a single name. “Soon after that the explosion happened.”

National police spokesman Setyo Wasisto announced that police fatally shot four suspected militants and arrested two others early Sunday in West Java towns. It wasn’t clear if the shootings were connected with the church attacks.

“They have trained in order to attack police,” Wasisto said, identifying the militants as members of Jemaah Anshorut Daulah, or JAD. The network of about two dozen extremist groups has been implicated in a number of attacks in Indonesia over the past year. It pledges allegiance to Islamic State group leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

The latest attacks in predominantly Muslim Indonesia came days after police ended a riot and hostage-taking at a detention center near Jakarta that left six officers and three inmates dead. The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility.

Christians, many of whom from the ethnic Chinese minority, make up about 9 percent of Indonesia’s 260 million people.
Ramadan approaches when, as I understand it, those who die while jihading go straight to paradise. Yay.

An internal police report reviewed by Reuters said a suspected bomb exploded in a car in the parking lot of a Pentacostal church, setting alight dozens of motorbikes.

42 killed in Israeli strikes in Syria this week
[Ynet] A wave of Israeli strikes on suspected military positions in Syria this week killed 42 people, including at least 19 Iranians, a Syria war monitor reported Saturday.

The Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the corpse count from attacks early Thursday has risen from 23 to 27, including at least 11 Iranians and six Syrian soldiers, including three officers.

Late Tuesday, Syrian state-run media said Israel struck a military outpost near the capital Damascus, saying that its air defenses intercepted and destroyed two of the incoming missiles. The Observatory said at least 15 were killed, eight of them Iranians, including a member of the Revolutionary Guards, Iran's elite force.

This brings to 42, including 19 Iranians, the total killed during the two days of strikes.

Retaking the area, which includes Hajar al-Aswad and the Paleostinian refugee camp of Yarmuk, would place the regime in full control of the capital and its surroundings for the first time since 2012.

"The festivities continue. Despite its firepower, the regime has been unable to achieve any significant advance on the ground for a week," Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman said.

"IS is entrenched in tunnels and underground shelters and it has been conducting counter-attacks since Saturday."

At least 203 pro-government fighters have been killed along with 159 IS bandidos murderous Moslems since April 19, according to the Observatory.

Government forces have retaken 60 per cent of Hajar al-Aswad, but bandidos murderous Moslems still control 80 per cent of Yarmuk, the monitor said.

Once a thriving district home to some 160,000 Paleostinians and Syrians, Yarmuk's population has fallen to just a few hundred people.

The regime continued to pound the area with air strikes and artillery fire on Saturday, the Observatory said.

IS has been expelled from most of the country since it declared a "caliphate" across large swathes of Syria and neighbouring Iraq in 2014.

But it still holds around five per cent of Syrian territory, in eastern and central desert holdouts and on the edge of Damascus.

Syria's war has killed more than 350,000 people since it started in 2011 with the brutal repression of anti-government protests before spiralling into a complex conflict involving world powers and murderous Moslems.

#1  For those counting, over 3000 Palestinian civilians have been killed and about 1000 Palestinian combatants have been killed.

Also about 2000 Hezbollah combatants have been killed. A similar number of Iranian combatants have been killed of whom about 10% are actual military and 90% militia.

Syrian air defense system destroyed by Israel was allegedly unarmed
[ALMASDARNEWS] During an overnight raid on purported Iranian positions in Syria, Israeli rockets hit a Pantsir-S1 surface-to-air missile and anti-aircraft artillery system.
It was still a AAA system.
A Russian military correspondent, Alexander Kots, has uploaded a picture of a Syrian air defense system, a Pantsir-S1, eliminated by the Israeli Arclight airstrikes.

"It’s written here that all the missiles had been fired (this can be seen from the burned pipes), the radar is not in the combat position, the missile hit point, the hydraulic rack is raised. That is, it simply had nothing to fight off with, it was waiting to be recharged," he tweeted.

Kots stressed that if it was in fact waiting to be recharged, Israel merely destroyed an unarmed system. The image suggests that the Pantsir-S1 was destroyed by an IAI Harop, a loitering munition, with previous allegations that the IDF might had fired Delilah cruise missiles, or Spike NLOS, a fire-and-forget anti-tank guided missile.

The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported, citing a military source, that the army’s air defenses had "shot down dozens of Israeli missiles, preventing most of them from reaching their targets," however, some of the rockets managed to hit radars and an ammunition depot.
Israel, in turn, claimed that it had retalinated against Iranian forces in Syria, which had launched around 20 rockets at Israeli frontline positions. SANA released footage showing the moments when Damascus brought down Israeli missiles.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Israeli fighter jets fired some 60 rockets at several targets in Syria in addition to 10 tactical surface-to-surface missiles.

Car bomb rocks Kurdish-held Raqqa in northern Syria
[ALMASDARNEWS] A booby-trapped vehicle left by the defeated Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
went kaboom! today in the Syrian city of Raqqa, killing and injuring several people.

A bulldozer was cleaning rubbles when it hit a VBIED buried under the wreckage of a bombed-out building. The blast killed 2 and 3 others in the Kurdish-controlled city.

Raqqa served as the de-facto capital of the so-called Islamic State for years before the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces capture the city in October 2017 after months-long battles.

Last month, the Russian envoy to the UN slammed the US and its Kurdish proxies for failing to rebuild the devastated city and help the afflicted civilians.

US-led Coalition strikes 2 Syrian villages, up to 17 civilians killed
[ALMASDARNEWS] According to reports by the Syria Satellite Channel, 17 people have been killed due to two Arclight airstrikes conducted by the US-led coalition against the villages Hidaj and Hamadi in the south of the al-Hasakah region. Previously, state TV had reported that 8 people were killed during the incident.

Previously this month, 25 non-combatants were killed and over 100 injured by US-led airstrikes, which targeted the village al-Fadel near the town of al-Shaddadi, also in the al-Hasakah region.

The following day, the Syrian Foreign Ministry submitted a letter of complaint to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the UNSC president in wake of the airstrikes.

The US-led coalition, consisting of over 70 countries, is conducting military operations against ISIS in Syria and Iraq.

The coalition’s strikes in Iraq are conducted in cooperation with Iraqi officials, but operations in Syria are not authorized by the government of Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
