[FOX] Osama dead Laden wanted to kill Obama so 'totally unprepared' Biden would be president, declassified docs show
Osama bin Laden wanted to assassinate then-President Barack Obama so that the "totally unprepared" Joe Biden would take over as president and plunge the United States "into a crisis," according to documents seized from bin Laden's Pakistan compound when he was killed in May 2011.
The secretive documents, first reported in 2012 by The Washington Post, outlined a plan to take out Obama and top U.S. military commander David Petraeus as they traveled by plane.
"The reason for concentrating on them is that Obama is the head of infidelity and killing him automatically will make [Vice President] Biden take over the presidency," bin Laden wrote to a top deputy. "Biden is totally unprepared for that post, which will lead the U.S. into a crisis. As for Petraeus, he is the man of the hour ... and killing him would alter the war's path" in Afghanistan.
Bin Laden specifically wanted fellow goat boy terrorist Ilyas Kashmiri to shoot down Obama. Everybody in the world knows how Useless Biden and the Democrats are... Everyone but the Democrats

WAPO releases a hit piece on Biden. I'll take a wild stab in the dark; the left-wing establishment a.k.a. the Deepstate, doesn't want Biden as their candidate in 2020. Too much baggage; a sure loser.

but honest this is the first time I heard about it.
A lot has happened since 2012, Woodrow dear, and it would be folly for me to compare my porous memory with anyone, not to mention there is so very much to remember after all these years. Fortunately that was not why they hired me. ;-) But the article mentions the events of 2012, and you did thoughtfully add the link as you worked up the thing for submission, which nicely matched up to the Related/name link search I added at the bottom for us all.
I should not have been surprised that Fox resurrected this particularly sticky handful of mud yesterday, but even at my advanced-ish age I do not think in those terms — so it is equally fortunate you lot do. Even after nearly two decades I learn something new here every day, and am grateful for it. So much better than crosswords or Sudoku!
[WND] The coronavirus scandal, with billionaire oligarch "pandemic expert" Bill Gates pushing horror scenarios into the media, has contributed to politicians' reaction of fear.
This, combined with mass media hysteria, has, in turn, caused a once-in-a-century financial depression. The economic depression may not be due to the virus itself, but rather the panic reaction that was created with the corresponding government shutdowns, as advised by Gates.
At The Herland Report we suggested early that the crisis should be seen in relation to the current U.S.-China trade war. We wrote about the topic of World Health Organization chief Dr. Tedros' possible politization the day before President Trump addressed it. Two days later it was headlines across the world.
The close relationship between Dr. Tedros and Bill Gates is illustrated by Tedros calling Gates "my brother" when opening speeches. Everyone else, such as the WHO-favored Norwegian prime minister, Erna Solberg, are addressed as dignitaries. Through its CEPI work, the current Norwegian government is allied with Gates, Norway funding billions into vaccine programs.
A strong defender of the current strategies of the WHO leadership, now under scrutiny for its mismanagement in reporting during the COVID-19 scandal, Solberg has taken a remarkable strong stance while other European leaders question the WHO.
[PJ] On Wednesday, Pope Francis gave an impassioned speech on the 50th anniversary of the first Earth Day, calling on Christians across the world to undergo an "ecological conversion" from below, spurred on by popular movements. He claimed that humans have "sinned against the earth" by disobeying God's command to be good stewards of it.
"Because of our selfishness we have failed in our responsibility to be guardians and stewards of the earth," the pope said. "We have polluted and we have despoiled it, endangering our very lives. For this reason, various international and local movements have sprung up in order to appeal to our consciences. I deeply appreciate these initiatives; still it will be necessary for our children to take to the streets to teach us the obvious: we have no future if we destroy the very environment that sustains us."
Francis went on to confess that humans had "sinned against the earth," and the planet will have its reckoning.

[CNBC] - State and local governments are warning of a wave of layoffs and pay cuts after getting left out of the federal coronavirus relief package expected to pass Congress this week.
In many places, those painful reductions are already taking shape:
Los Angeles plans to force city workers to spend 26 days on unpaid leave as revenues are forecast to drop as much as $600 million next fiscal year.
Detroit has proposed laying off 200 workers and furloughing thousands more.
In Ohio’s Hamilton County, Commissioner Denise Driehaus is taking a 10% pay cut alongside county workers. Every cloud ...

We are about to hear of all the things you have to do "in person," because being able to do them online or via mail "just won't work." Of course, voting somehow won't be on the list.

And exactly what do you produce to earn that "revenue"?

New wrinkle but expected. In Maryland you apply for unemployment now you will not get card anytime soon. They have run out of cards. One fellow applied and was approved but has waited two weeks and no card received.Tuesday many did not receive payments. One fellow has gone a month without payment. This will get ugly quickly. Call and no one answers.
This fat loser needs a nickname and Haystacks Calhoun just jumped out for some reason. I'll blame the hangover. Let's hear it from the Rantburg regulars - what's your nickname for the Walking Double Whopper?
[Hot Air] - Stacey Abrams has issued quite a few hints in the past few weeks that she is tan, rested and ready to be Joe Biden’s VP. The tan part is a bit of a joke only not really. Today Abrams made her pitch on The View where co-host Sunny Hostin asked if Biden should commit to not only selecting a woman VP but a woman of color. Abrams tried to be diplomatic but her answer basically came down to agreeing that he needed to do that. Here’s how it went:
"Stacey, this is something that is concerning to me," Hostin said. She continued, "Biden has committed to a woman as vice-president but has stopped short of committing to a woman of color. How important is it, do you think, for Biden to make that commitment? Do you think that not choosing a woman of color, a black woman actually, is a slap in the face to the black female voters who are credited with really reviving his candidacy?"
"I think Vice-President Biden is going to make a smart choice," Abrams replied. She added, "I would share your concerns about not picking a woman of color because women of color, particularly black women, are the strongest part of the Democratic party." Such grace and subtlety! This broad, if nominated to the VP slot, would make Geraldine Fereraro look like Golda Meir or Margaret Thatcher by comparison.

Just received a survey invite from a Progressive mailing list... it's all about preferred VP choices and the shortlist of 5 potential choices they provide has The Hitt at the top of the list. The others in descending order are

3. Tank
4. Fauxcahontas
5. Whitless
From which I conclude that they're actually serious about this specimen. Unbelievable.

Trump has been getting a larger and larger percentage of the black vote in polls before the virus. Odds are the polls were already weighted and he still got those numbers.Abrams hopes to take advantage of these facts.
[Independent Sentinel via WhatFinger] Democrat presidential hopeful Joe Biden published his plans to gut the Second Amendment with oppressive gun laws in a 3,100-word agenda found on his campaign website.
It bans so-called "assault weapons," includes more onerous background checks on all gun sales and transfers, seeks to destroy gun manufacturers and dealers by making them responsible for crimes committed with their guns, restricts the number of firearms someone can buy in a month, "safe storage" and so many regulations that bearing arms will become a heavily-regulated privilege, Ammoland reports. Hard to believe a former Clintonite would be corrupt? [JustTheNews] Rep. Donna Shalala, D-Fla., who was recently tapped by Speaker Nancy Pelosi to serve on the special committee overseeing coronavirus relief spending, is acknowledging through her office that she failed to disclose stock sales conducted in 2019.
The lack of disclosure constitutes a violation of federal law, according to the Miami Herald, which reported that the STOCK Act stipulates transactions should be reported within 45 days.
The newspaper noted that Shalala, a former Cabinet secretary, said she sold stocks in 2019 to steer clear of any possible conflicts of interest following her November 2018 election to Congress.
"She had a misunderstanding about the periodic transaction report process and her need to report the sale of these stocks while preparing a blind trust," spokesperson Carlos Condarco told the Miami Herald. "As a new member with a broker and attorney who were not familiar with the congressional disclosure rules, there was a misunderstanding."
The congresswoman was appointed by Pelosi earlier this month to help oversee billions of dollars in pandemic relief funds. "Treasury got a huge pot of money to bail out large industries, specifically airlines," Shalala said. "What we're really after is mischief. We're after fraud."
The Miami Herald reported that Shalala's office revealed that between November 2018 and November 2019 the congresswoman sold stocks in businesses the could possibly pursue bailout funding as well as two organizations that the news outlet said are "advising the U.S. Treasury Department and Federal Reserve on the disbursement of loans and funds: Moelis and BlackRock."

[THEHILL] Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell on Tuesday hit back against recent criticism of the reorganization of intelligence community (IC) agencies from House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff ...Showboating U.S. Representative for California's 28th congressional district since 2013. A member of the Democratic Party, Schiff has served in Congress since 2001. He currently serves as the chairman of the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. In a manner reminiscent of Joe McCarthy, on March 22, 2017, in a interview with Chuck Todd on MSNBC Schiff claimed there was “more than circumstantial evidence now” that Donald Trump's campaign colluded with Russia." Todd followed up by asking if he had seen direct evidence of collusion and Schiff responded that there was "evidence that is not circumstantial and is very much worthy of investigation"... (D-Calif.).
Grenell wrote to Schiff that the reorganization under his leadership came on the heels of calls for change from intelligence committee staffers.
"Career IC officials have conducted four studies in the last two years calling for reforms at the ODNI [Office of the Director of National Intelligence], and the career officials are eager to implement the recommendations," Grenell wrote in a sharply worded letter to Schiff. "It is my duty to listen to these ODNI career employees who have ideas on how to improve the work we do for the American people."
Grenell added that he would "encourage" Schiff to "think of the relationship between your committee and the IC as that between the legislative and executive branches of government, rather than that between a hedge fund and a distressed asset, as your letter suggests."
Grenell’s letter was sent two weeks after Schiff sent him a missive strongly criticizing steps he had taken to reorganize the intelligence community since being appointed acting director of national intelligence.
Schiff noted that Grenell was pursuing leadership changes at intelligence agencies without seeking authorization from Congress and raised questions about the removal or departure of every Senate-confirmed official at the ODNI.
Schiff also accused Grenell of allowing his staff to "interfere with the production and briefing of intelligence information" on election security that was given to Congress during a March 10 all-members briefing on election security.
Grenell wrote to Schiff that intelligence community staff were "offended" by his allegations that they did not give "unvarnished" intelligence reports to Congress.
"As the Acting DNI, I am compelled to defend these career officers from unsubstantiated indictments of their motivations and judgment," Grenell wrote. "Many are offended by the accusations that they did not share unvarnished assessments. If you share with me the reports you believe provide evidence for these claims, I can promise you that I will review them with the seriousness such accusations demand."
Though the tweets have since been removed, the Washington Post had reported that Grenell posted that the then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was “starting to look like [former Secretary of State] Madeline Albright.”
Despite serving on the then Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich’s congressional transition team in 1994, Grenell made a similar tweet criticizing Gingrich’s third wife, Callista. In his tweet, Grenell wrote that at events she often “stands there like she is wife #1” and asked if her “hair snaps on.”
MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow should “take a breath and put on a necklace,” Grenell wrote in another tweet. He also tweeted similar comments at other women, including former First Lady Michelle Obama.
Outside of Twitter, Grenell has also cultivated a reputation for sometimes being abrasive with members of the press, rarely one to shy away from telling a reporter when he believed they were in the wrong.
[BREITBART] New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio ...cryptocommie mayor of New York and for some reason a Dem candidate for president in 2020. Corrupt and incompetent, his qualifications for office seem to consist of being married to a black woman, with whom he honeymooned in Cuba. He has a preppy-looking son named Dante, whose Divine Comedy involved getting his back hair up when a police car drove past him slowly. New Yorkers voted for him, so they deserve him... ’s "snitch line" has been forced to shut down because America is still America and the blowback was freakin’ awesome.
Oftentimes we use George Orwell’s seminal novel 1984 as a metaphor for something we don’t like, a metaphor for government overreach and the like. In this case, a metaphor is not necessary. Thanks to Comrade de Blasio, we are now allowed to use the word "literally" while referencing 1984, as in de Blasio is literally embracing 1984’s villainous Big Brother by literally asking Americans to snitch on their fellow Americans — to call the police should a friend or neighbor go for a walk, or something.
On Saturday, de Blasio unveiled his NYC311 system to encourage New Yorkers to snitch on outlaw New Yorkers for violating the state’s stay-at-home and social distancing rules.
The response was glorious.
The Daily Mail reports the hotline had to be shut down after "members of the public vehemently criticized the ’tyrannical overreach’ the hotline posed and within hours it was flooded messages of contempt for de Blasio instead."
"[M]essages included photos of extended middle fingers and links to articles about de Blasio breaking his own social distancing instructions."
One amazing American who deserves a Pulitzer "photoshopped the video of de Blasio announcing the tip line, adding a Hitler mustache to his lip and a Schutzstaffel Nazi logo to his suit jacket[.]"
[BREITBART] Wednesday, former Secretary of State John F. I was in Vietnam, you know Kerry Former Senator-for-Life from Massachussetts, self-defined war hero, speaker of French, owner of a lucky hat, conqueror of Cambodia, unsuccessful presidential candidate, and utterly failed Secretary of State... called into question President Donald Trump ...the Nailer of NAFTA... ’s leadership during the ongoing coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague) ...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men... pandemic.
Instead of leading, Kerry suggested on MSNBC’s "Morning Joe" that Trump is "playing out an election strategy" and "attacking governors" and members of the media in a way he said he has never seen by a president.
"Look, the truth is, and everybody in America, I think, is beginning to come to understand that this president is not leading now, he’s playing out an election strategy," Kerry stated. "He’s more focused on getting the economy moving before all the experts say you ought to be putting people back together in close quarters again and without the adequate rules by which people will be required to behave, and certainly, without the adequate testing that other countries are doing. I think Mike Barnicle, a moment ago, listed the countries, almost 20 countries or more. I mean, most of the countries dealing with this crisis at a high level are doing better than the United States of America on testing. And the truth is, you cannot get us back to real normal. You cannot get the economy churning at the rate it wants to and needs to unless American citizens have confidence when they come back to the workplace. And they won’t today."
He continued, "[Y]ou’re not going to fill restaurants, and you’re not going to get people out there when the medical experts are saying, you know, it’s not safe to do it yet. And the president is not heeding that. He’s not leading. The fact that he’s attacking governors, he’s attacking members of the media. I mean, these rallies that he has on TV may appeal to his base, but watching a president of the United States engage in such extraordinary behavior in direct insults to people who are just calmly sitting there asking a question is stunning. ... I’ve never seen any president, Republican or Democrat alike behave like that. So, it may be entertaining as a reality show, but it has no relationship whatsoever to presidential leadership. And that’s what Americans are judging now to a greater degree."

John Kerry and the former Boston Globe plagiarist Mike Barnicle - two of the phoniest men on the planet. Kerry wouldn't know leadership if it bit him in the ass.
[NYPOST] Mayor Bill de Blasio ...cryptocommie mayor of New York and for some reason a Dem candidate for president in 2020. Corrupt and incompetent, his qualifications for office seem to consist of being married to a black woman, with whom he honeymooned in Cuba. He has a preppy-looking son named Dante, whose Divine Comedy involved getting his back hair up when a police car drove past him slowly. New Yorkers voted for him, so they deserve him... on Wednesday claimed Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, drivers stop at every intersection — offering his latest in a series of ever-shifting justifications for why New York can’t follow other cities, like Oakland and Minneapolis, and redo streets to make more room for pedestrians and cyclists.
"In California drivers stop at intersections even if there’s no light or stop sign. They stop when people are trying to cross the street, even, in the middle of the street a lot of time," the mayor claimed during his morning City Hall press briefing.
Californians on Twitter quickly pounced, wondering if the mayor had spent any time in the Golden State, where drivers are notorious for rolling through stop signs and disregarding pedestrians.
"A ’California roll’ is when one slows down and drifts through a stop sign while other drivers clear," user @BVanDeynze wrote. "Has DeBlasio ever been to California? Or even driven a car?"
"The mayor of New York thinks drivers in Los Angeles stop... at... every..... block???????" asked Laura Nelson, the Los Angeles Times’ transportation news hound. "I needed this laugh today. Thanks, Bill de Blasio."
One of her colleagues responded: "I’ve jaywalked in cities all over the country. The only place I’ve truly feared for my life is LA."

[NY Post] After mounting pressure from President Trump and many others, heavily endowed Harvard University finally caved on Wednesday and said it would return the $8.6 million in coronavirus relief it received from the federal government.
"Harvard will not accept funds from the CARES Act Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund. Like most colleges & universities, Harvard has been allocated funds as part of the CARES Act. Harvard did not apply for this support, nor has it requested, received or accessed the funds," the school tweeted.
But the Ivy League school ‐ which has an endowment of $40.9 billion ‐ also bemoaned the political pressure.
"We are concerned that intense focus by politicians & others on Harvard in connection with the program may undermine participation in a relief effort Congress created & the president signed into law for the purpose of helping those whose financial challenges may be most severe," Harvard whined.
"As a result of this, and the evolving guidance being issued around use of the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund, Harvard has decided not to seek or accept the funds allocated to it by statute."
The university had earlier said it would not return the funds, and stressed that it had not gotten any cash from the Paycheck Protection Plan, created to help small businesses struggling to survive during the pandemic.
Instead, the upper-crust school had argued, it applied for and received money from another fund specifically geared to colleges and universities.
"President Trump is right that it would not have been appropriate for our institution to receive funds that were designated for struggling small businesses," the school tweeted before the about-face.
"Like most colleges and universities, Harvard has been allocated funds as part of the CARES Act Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund."
Harvard Mgmt Corp earns more than $8m every day. Chump change for these guys.

Kabuki lacks the latter's 2nd and 3rd essential features, gross incompetence and outrageous virtue-signaling. HMC's track record at least as I recall it shows them to be extremely competent and not at all given to useless virtue-signaling.

Harvard College has some peculiar grants that don't get used often. There are a number earmarked solely for veterans with families if the veteran is a full time undergraduate. One got my children winter coats every year. Damned nice winter coats, the best that endowment could find. I found it very touching, and the coats were needed. A custom doll for the girls from Madame Alexander, who met with my daughter. A number of other things.

Some people are actually doing free expression - 1st Amendment Shit. Newsom objects. Racing MI to the bottom?
[10 News] The California Highway Patrol is temporarily banning rallies at the state Capitol and other state facilities because of the pandemic.
The change in policy Wednesday came after hundreds of protesters gathered on the Capitol grounds in Sacramento on Monday, many without wearing masks or following recommendations to remain more than six feet apart to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
The same group had planned additional rallies in coming days against Gov. Gavin Newsom's orders that people remain at home except for essential activities.
Additional similar rallies have been happening across California and the nation.
Protest organizers did not immediately respond to The Associated Press’ request for comment.

Unbelievable. What was that Sinclair Lewis novel during the Depression? It Can't Happen Here
His wife Dorothy Thompson, the best journalist of the era, is akso worth reading on the Nazi takeover - she saw it firsthand as a leading foreign correspondent in Berlin, and testified before Congress as to how our own democracy was at risk.
They confirmed that the order came from Newsom, it is in effect, and applies to any gathering of 10 or more people at the state Capitol "for the duration of COVID," whatever that means.
Calling Gov.'s office now for clarification.
No official announcement on the state's COVID website as to the logic of any behind "10 feet", or the definitions, criteria and metrics used to determine the duration of the crisis
[Lidblog] On April 15th Georgia state Rep. Vernon Jones (D) broke with his party by endorsing President Trump’s reelection bid, citing the president’s handling of the economy and support for historically black colleges. A week later citing the Georgia Democratic Party’s harassment of him and his party, Rep. Jones announced he was resigning and would not complete his term.
He released this statement earlier today:
"I’m sick and tired of me and my family being attacked and harassed by the Democrat Party for putting my country before my party. I take pride in being an independent thinker. My first amendment right to freedom of speech is under siege. I intend to help the Democrat Party get rid of its bigotry against Black people that are independent and conservative."
"I endorsed the White guy (Donald J. Trump) that let Blacks out of jail, and they endorsed the White guy (Joe Biden) that put Blacks in jail. Turn the lights off, I have left the plantation. Someone else can occupy that suite. Therefore, I intend not to complete my term effective April 22, 2020. However, I will remain woke and vigilant in educating and fighting for my people."
His family too? What? Are they refugees from an old mafia movie?
It sounds as if Rep. Jones ran into the liberal ideological purity steam roller.
Jones’ endorsement of the president incited nasty reactions from his party:
One party leader, John Jackson, declared of Jones’ support for Trump, "This is in no way acceptable." Jackson insisted, "Action will be taken."
Georgia State Democrat Party Chair Nikema Williams proclaimed that Trump is a — drumroll — "racist!" She added Trump has "made an all-out assault on black Americans," though she neglected to explain why she feels that way. Williams went on to say that Jones is "an embarrassment to the Democrat Party and he doesn’t stand for our values."
