MEME POLICE: DHS Scanning employees' social media for signs of
[Breitbart] The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) published a report recommending an increased focus on scanning the social media accounts of its employees in order to detect “extremism.”

Among the examples of “extremism” cited by DHS are: a belief that fraud occurred in the 2020 election, and objections to current coronavirus policies.

From the DHS report, obtained by Reclaim The Net:

A March 2021 unclassified threat assessment prepared by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), Department of Justice, and DHS, noted that domestic violent extremists “who are motivated by a range of ideologies and galvanized by recent political and societal events in the United States pose an elevated threat to the Homeland in 2021.” The assessment pointed to newer “sociopolitical developments such as narratives of fraud in the recent general election, the emboldening impact of the violent breach of the U.S. Capitol, conditions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, and conspiracy theories promoting violence” that “will almost certainly spur some [domestic violent extremists] [sic] to try to engage in violence this year.”

The report shows increased DHS concern with rooting out “extremists” within its own ranks, including through monitoring the social media accounts of employees.

From the report:

Studies and pilots have suggested that certain online activity may represent behavior of potential concern to national security and could be useful in assessing an individual’s trustworthiness, judgment, or reliability. [Publicly Available Electronic Information], including social media checks, have proven to be of limited value as stand-alone sources of information. However, when coupled with and corroborated by other data and investigative follow-up, the use of PAEI can be a powerful tool in preventing and detecting domestic violent extremism-related threats.

#15  I overheard a segment on Fox where dude was explaining that fighter jets are defensive, so it is legal to overfly Ukraine, but if they got shot at, oh boy its on go get'im! Something to that effect, I was trying to think a problem through.

Anyways, Kayfabe is a suggested read for the day, takes a couple minutes.

My whole life, the people wanting to start World War III with WMD exchanges were always the bad guys - the Bond villain, the terrorist trying to provoke a response, all that. Now, it appears that a global war with nuclear exchanges would be considered a foreign policy success.

But here is Zelensky, thinking the best chance of survival is to turn Ukraine into ground zero, literally, of WWIII. And on cue, the TV monkey is talking it up as the superist footballist play evah, leaving out the fact that all players will be flying MIGs, and the likely only shot against NATO forces will be from US supplied Ukraine MANPAD because they wouldn't have the radar/tracking information. But you know that wouldn't be the story told. "NATO Attacked! It's War!"

OK. Now What? How does this end? All the designated survivors go to Madagascar or wherever and wait out the Armageddon? Foreign Policy Win. Only makes sense if they really believe (skipping mandatory macro text about) Putin is out of his gourd so the plan is to keep flicking his nuts? If he is cool and calculating, he ain't gonna sit there and watch the remnants of his military get Highway of Death either.

And this group, they drone zapped some family to look tough, and the car isn't even cold yet from their 20 year debacle. I know there is some pointing and laughing at Russian Generals, but I don't think our bench looks so hot, full of political socialites and minions dressed in the Military Colors given to them during the 20 year war, the Vindmans, the Buttgigs, the Beaus.

I don't see serious people. I don't see a plan other than score domestic political points and gigs and let them worry about the mess, I got mine.

#19  "So called no fly zone" would be of very limited use. Russia has stand-off weapons systems and aircraft. The obvious other negative is the potential of Putin's escalation.

Putin should encounter other arse biters. His plate is already full, Say nothing and give him additional arse biters.

1. Begin secret meetings with Xi concerning the economic downside Sino-Soviet cooperation. Talk about container shipping, Walmart, Depot, Target. Death by a thousand cuts, etc.

2. Leak the details of the meetings at #1 to selected Russian oligarchs, FSB and SVR.

3. Ask Finnish president Sauli Niinistö to talk to Putin. They used to be pals. Perhaps Niinistö can identify an 'off ramp' for him, A residence in exile. A hunting-fishing lodge, hiking trails, horses, etc.

4. Establish or 'expand' the 'backchannel' information discussions with Chinese Intelligence
Agency (CCP) seniors. Begin with Sino-Soviet border troops displacements and outpost imagery.

5. Encourage Japan to increase pressure on the return to Japan of Iturup, Kunashir Island, Shikotan, and the Habomai Islands currently held by Russia.

6. Quietly challenge Russia's arctic militarization via electronic systems and other means.

7. Encourage African nation expulsion of Russian diplomatic missions. If unproductive, continue the effort via isolation and clandestine monitoring.

8. Establish a globally based Ukraine rebuild agency (external to the UN), possibly in Vienna.
Loans, food, hospitals, industry, and schools should be offered.

9. Map out and begin exercising a NATO Eastern member no-fly-zone.

10. Immediately begin a massive oil and natural gas development campaign aimed at providing energy to Europe at an "at cost" or near "at cost" price.

11. Immediately begin happy-talk with Cuba. Discreetly bribe the bastids to turn their collective backs on anything Russian. The more extreme the measures, the more lucrative the compensation or diplomatic benefit.

12. Offer to send US Special Forces elements (mobile training teams) to Finland for training. Training for them, for us. Makes no difference. If it goes well, establish annual exercises and training for Finnish forces here in the States.

13. Target the intelligence recruitment of selected Russian oligarchs. Restore seized property, banking, and friendly nation access.

14. Establish a clandestine program for the immigration of Russian scientists, doctors, educators, selected military officers, and other professional people.

#20  All those pretty cargo ships just idling off the west coast....

Well, the mad man would consider those as targets. The rational man could conclude that, since they have already had their ability to make transactions nuked, that every boycott gets bragged about, and Russian oligarchs are being detained without reason, that economic targets are already on the board.

Follow me chairman on this train of thought...say the fires from those ships light up the night sky for months. Maybe it was Russians. Maybe, even evidence it was a Chinese attack. Or just maintenance problems from too much time at sea. Who knows? What I do know, the clamor for those products currently being made in China should be...more local. Big graft local. Perhaps, an invigorated call for a stronger NAFTA...maybe even, heaven forbid, calls for a unified North America? Agricultural exports would diminish, as those resources will be need to replace your factories with ours, over here.

Now, during these, how does it go, unprecedented times, let's talk...assurances...

Economy
Biden's Dishonest Attempt To Pin Inflation on Putin
[Reason] The White House's latest attempt to scapegoat rising prices ignores everything that happened before the past three weeks.

Ten months ago, Jeremy Siegel issued a dire warning about the trajectory of prices.

"The money supply since the beginning of the pandemic, so a little over a year, has gone up almost 30 percent. Now, that money is not going to disappear. That money is going to find its way into spending and into higher prices," Siegel, a professor of finance at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, told CNBC during an interview on May 14. "Over the next two, three years we could easily have 20 percent inflation with this increase in the money supply."

Sen. Elizabeth Warren Blames Price Gouging, Not Putin, for Inflation
The honourable senatrix is just a tad behind the times. We’ve moved on to a new theme now.
[NEWSMAX] Sen. Elizabeth Warren avoided blaming fallout from Russian President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine or the Biden administration's policies while discussing rising inflation Wednesday on CNBC's "The Exchange."

The Massachusetts Democrat instead attributed skyrocketing prices around the country to the COVID-19 pandemic and companies passing costs on to consumers.

"I think the primary cause of this bout of pricing increases starts with COVID," Warren told host Tyler Mathisen.

"And the fact that we have supply chain kinks, and that people rapidly shifted the demand curves so that demand for services went down and demand for goods went up. So those two forced prices up, that's part one."

Warren then asserted that companies are offloading costs through price gouging, citing the consolidation of major industries.

"What has also happened is that now that we're living in America where there's a lot more concentration in certain industries. Look at the oil industry, look at the meat industry, look at groceries generally.

''What's happened is that these companies have said, 'you know, we'll pass along costs, but while we're at it and everyone's talking about rising costs, let's just add an extra big dollop of cost increases to expand our profits,'" Warren said.

"Part one, yes, very much the pandemic. Part two, companies that recognize that because they don't face a lot of competition can goose those prices up," she added.

President Joe Biden has frequently blamed Russia for soaring prices, specifically on oil and gas. The White House did, however, flirt with rhetoric similar to Warren's earlier this month.

"We understand Putin's war against the people of Ukraine is causing prices to rise. We get that. That's self-evident. But ... it's no excuse to exercise excessive price increases or padding profits or any kind of effort to exploit this situation or American consumers," Biden said in a March 8 press briefing.

Government Corruption
NY State Comptroller Report: Gov. Andrew Cuomo Failed to Account for 4,100 Nursing Home Deaths
[Breitbart] A recent audit from the New York state comptroller has revealed disgraced former Gov. Andrew Cuomo failed to account for 4,100 nursing home deaths during the height of the coronavirus pandemic.

“The audit found that Health Department officials at times underreported the full death toll by as much as 50 percent from April 2020 to February 2021, as Mr. Cuomo faced increasing scrutiny over whether his administration had intentionally concealed the actual number of deaths,” reported the New York Times.

New York state comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli called the 41-page report showing that the Health Department would support Andrew Cuomo’s narrative by suppressing the death “extremely troubling,” charging that the public was intentionally misled:

Families have a right to know if their loved one’s COVID-19 death was counted, but many still don’t have answers from the state Department of Health. Our audit findings are extremely troubling. The public was misled by those at the highest level of state government through distortion and suppression of the facts when New Yorkers deserved the truth.

The pandemic is not over, and I am hopeful the current administration will make changes to improve accountability and protect lives. An important step would be for DOH to provide the families who lost loved ones with answers as to the actual number of nursing homes residents who died. These families are still grieving, and they deserve no less.

Scandal first hit Cuomo in early 2021 when it was revealed that his administration directed nursing homes to accept recovering coronavirus patients, leading to a spike in elderly deaths. Trouble worsened for Cuomo as more and more reports revealed that his administration intentionally suppressed the death toll to protect the governor from political fallout. At the height of the pandemic, Cuomo was a media sensation, with reporters hailing him as the perfect opposite of President Trump.

In November 2020, Cuomo was even presented with the 2020 International Emmy Founders Award for what the International Academy called “his leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic and his masterful use of television to inform and calm people around the world.”

That Emmy was later rescinded when Cuomo resigned from office due to a string of sexual assault allegations.

According to the New York Times, the Cuomo administration were able to suppress nursing home death tolls by only counting “only residents who had died in such facilities, excluding residents who died in hospitals,” which lead to “an artificially lower tally of nursing home deaths that Mr. Cuomo used to argue New York had fared better than other states.”

While Cuomo argued that those deaths were being included in the state’s overall death toll, the comptroller report refuted that.

“Rather than providing accurate and reliable information during a public health emergency, the department instead conformed its presentation to the executive’s narrative, often presenting data in a manner that misled the public,” the report said.

White House Deploys Kamala Harris to Tout ‘Achievements' at home while Joe Jets to Europe
[Breitbart] Get ready to see more, so much more, of Vice President Kamala Harris. According to a report Wednesday, Harris is being deployed by the White House to tout President Joe Biden’s “achievements” at home while he jets off to Europe and a role on the international stage formerly claimed by her.

Sources familiar with the plans told The Hill the vice president will be spending coming weeks crisscrossing the country and touting the successes of the administration.

Harris will reportedly use the trips to address infrastructure, expanded broadband access and key executive orders signed by Biden.

There is no indication if she will directly talk about the porous southern border or her assumed responsibility for it.

Heartbeat Away: Kamala Harris tweet mistakenly suggests Ukraine is part of NATO

[NYPost] A now-deleted tweet from Vice President Kamala Harris stated Tuesday that the US was supporting Ukraine against invading Russian forces “in defense of the NATO alliance” — wrongly indicating that Ukraine was a member of the 30-nation bloc.

“When I was in Poland, I met with U.S. and Polish service members, thanking them for standing with our NATO allies for freedom, peace, and security,” read the tweet from @KamalaHarris, which was preserved in a screenshot taken by the WayBack Machine internet archive. “The United States stands firmly with the Ukrainian people in defense of the NATO alliance.”

The tweet was originally posted around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday evening. A second, nearly identical tweet was posted almost an hour later around 9:20 pm.

“When I was in Poland, I met with U.S. and Polish service members, thanking them for standing with our NATO allies for freedom, peace, and security,” the new tweet read. “The United States stands firmly with the Ukrainian people and in defense of the NATO alliance.”

Harris staff shake-up continues with deputy press secretary's departure
[Wash Examiner] Staff turnover continues in the office of Vice President Kamala Harris, with another top member departing for other opportunities.

Deputy press secretary Sabrina Singh
...she appears to be one of those quiet functionaries who rarely appear in the news...
is leaving for the Defense Department, according to Politico, leaving only one of the four top communications positions in the hands of the same person who held it on Inauguration Day

Communications Director Ashley Etienne left team Harris in November, followed by the departure of Harris's press secretary in December. Kate Childs Graham, one of the vice president's top speechwriters, left in February. Only deputy press secretary Herbie Ziskend remains from the original top four.

Rachel Palermo has now been promoted to deputy communications director, while Ernesto Apreza is the new deputy press secretary, according to Politico.

There has been a broad communication reset for Harris’s team, which has been plagued with problems. In January, Harris’s new communications director was forced to apologize after old tweets about undocumented migrants prompted strong criticism from activists.

Harris’s scripted remarks have also sometimes drawn criticism. Earlier this year, the vice president compared last year's Capitol riot to the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the 9/11 terrorist attacks, eliciting immediate rebuke.

#6  For what it's worth, it has been reported that Biden has said he will not run in 2024. It is more likely that he won't be able to. Of course, he never really ran in 2020 but somehow through the magic of counting after the election, we are asked to believe the unbelievable.

If the NYTs now concedes the Laptop is legitimate, then the fraud and kickbacks alleged will demand a DoJ heightened investigation. Does this signal a deal with the Cackle-Jackal to accept the Kalorama Kompound leadership and the move to 25th JoJo is underway? Or does this mean a pre-preemptive pardon by Daddy for all things Hunter? Or has the NYT sold its soul to Hillary and the fix is in for the Mid-terms with unlimited big-tech/Chinese money. So many options and 2nd and 3rd level unintended outcomes, with little hope any one of them actually good for America ...

#10  Biden laundered money for Ukrainian and Russian oligarchs. Funny that the shell company he used is the same one Zelensky used to launder $41 million he got from the most corrupt man in Ukraine. Also Deutsche Bank for getting the loot into US real estate. No wonder Putin, Zelensky and the Bidens want their war to keep going. Business is good

This is why *we* should have invaded Ukraine (and immediately offered Russia NATO membership). It would have cross-footed the Russians, secured any loose records of Biden family business, and created new grifting opportunities for our political class. What's not to love!

‘Benghazi Hearings All Over Again': Fauci Says He Expects Republican-Led Congress to Come After Him
[Townhall] White House chief medical adviser Anthony Fauci said Tuesday that he expects Republican lawmakers to attack him during Congressional hearings come 2023 should the party take control of the House and Senate.

During an interview with The Washington Post, Fauci said he predicts to be the subject of a lot of public grillings but that nothing will come out of it.

"It's Benghazi hearings all over again," he said of Republicans vowing to issue subpoenas in an attempt to push the doctor providing information about his alleged funding of gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director continued, "They’ll try to beat me up in public, and there'll be nothing there. But it will distract me from doing my job, the way it’s doing right now."

Fauci's mention of the Benghazi hearings was in reference to a two-year investigation by the GOP-controlled House into the 2012 attacks in Libya that resulted in four Americans dying. Then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was the focus of the Benghazi hearings.

Members of a radical Islamic militant group carried out a coordinated attack on an American diplomatic compound in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012. The attack killed four Americans – U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens, foreign service officer Sean Smith, and CIA contractors Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty.

Shortly after the attack, Clinton and then-U.S. ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice falsely attributed militants storming the compound to a poorly produced YouTube video, claiming it incited the militants.

The House Select Committee on Benghazi did not find any evidence that Clinton was responsible when it issued its final report on the investigation in 2016. Lawmakers did, however, rebuke her State Department, along with the Defense Department and the CIA for failures in anticipating the security needs of the Benghazi diplomatic mission.

Now, Republicans are preparing to target Fauci for his alleged role in funding gain-of-function research in China, with Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul saying in December that he plans to issue subpoenas in order to determine the origin of the coronavirus.

"If we take over the Senate next year, I’ll be chairman of the health committee, and I pledge to use the subpoena power to get every last record about the origin of the virus, about Fauci," Paul said at the time.

And on Monday, Paul introduced legislation that would eliminate Fauci's role as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

"We've learned a lot over the past two years, but one lesson in particular is that no one person should be deemed 'dictator-in-chief.' No one person should have unilateral authority to make decisions for millions of Americans," Paul said in a statement. "To ensure that ineffective, unscientific lockdowns and mandates are never foisted on the American people ever again, I've introduced this amendment to eliminate Dr. Anthony Fauci's position as Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and divide his power into three separate new institutes."

Fauci and Paul have had heated exchanges during several Senate hearings about allegations that Fauci's NIAID funded gain-of-function research on coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology prior to the global pandemic. The doctor has repeatedly denied these accusations.

But in September, released records showed that EcoHealth Alliance, the NIAID grantee that gave funds to the Wuhan Institute of Virology to study bat-based coronaviruses, developed a chimeric coronavirus in Wuhan labs that caused mice with humanized cells to become sicker than those infected with the natural strain of the virus.
