Biden Blames the Jews for His Ukraine Policy
[Tablet] The purpose of the Biden team’s anti-Israel smear campaign is not just to make the Israelis look like they sympathize with a tyrant while offering to hide the blood money of their Russian co-religionists. That part is just ugly propaganda. The strategic purpose of the administration’s campaign is to force Jerusalem into an error that would give Putin reason to move against Israel, and thereby further limit its ability to strike Iran or its allies. As with Obama, Biden’s moves against Israel are keyed to the Iran deal.

Despite some occasional public vows of affection for Israel, Obama’s performative progressives, who staff nearly every important position in the Biden administration, do not see it as an ally. Insofar as Israel jeopardizes the Iran deal, it is a U.S. adversary. Russia, on the other hand, is an important partner in getting the deal across the finish line.

Saudis Consider Accepting Yuan Instead of Dollars for Chinese Oil Sales: Report

#3  WSJ article is behind the paywall but here's the gist. The Saudis are royally pissed about the Iran deal, about Biden not helping them vs Houthis etc and are serious about diversifying out of dollar assets -- probably the way the Kuwaitis do with the Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD).

If this happens, then a "block" will be "taken out of the wall" of the "supremacy of the US dollar in the international financial system, which Washington has relied on for decades to print Treasury bills it uses to finance its budget deficit." Economist Gal Luft, an expert on the dollar, says if that happens, "The wall will begin to collapse."

Pegged to a basket of currencies, the KWD is the world's most valuable currency and, while not 100% invulnerable to sanctions, has great strength and flexibility.

This Saudi expert @aliShihabi on Twitter sums it up:

"Freezing Russia's foreign exchange reserves must have scared the daylights out of the Chinese (and others) who hold massive reserves in dollars. Any doubts countries had about the need to diversify into Yuan & other currencies/ geographies would have ended with that huge step."

Ali Shihabi adds:
"Ultimately countries will have to diversify more into non-dollar and also acquire material exposure to China/Asia in currency and investments. Also who knows maybe even #bitcoin. Diversification is the only sound and safe strategy for any large investor let alone a country."

Who knows, maybe some adults in Washington will take over from Biden and pull us back from the brink, halt the Iran deal, stop the sanctions, start helping the Saudis with their problems. But probably not.

#6  Uncertainty is the enemy of any fiat money. The US was already fueling that uncertainty with the nonstop explosion of debt going back to the W Boosh years. Add the scattershot "sanctions everywhere" approach of the Bidet misministration and the US dollar stool is now very wobbly.

#8  If we straighten out our national finances and stop the hysterics, all those diversifying away will diversify themselves back to the dollar. In the meantime, if I were living elsewhere, I’d be pondering other options, too. Luxembourg, maybe. Not crypto, though, because that’s too easily manipulated for my taste.

Jussie Smollett Claims He Received Harsher Sentencing Just Because He 'Created A Hoax And Tried To Start A Race War'
[Babylon Bee] Jussie Smollett was sentenced on Thursday to a grueling 150 days in prison, 30 months of probation, and a $120,000 fine because he orchestrated a fake hate crime against himself. The former "Empire" actor has condemned the judge's sentence, saying he only received such a harsh sentence because he "created a hoax and tried to start a race war."

"Will the injustice never end?" Smollett asked at his hearing. "Your honor, I respect you and I respect the jury, but you're all stupid. This sentence shows a clear bias against people who stage hoaxes and try to start deadly race wars! You are just prejudiced against me because I wasted the time of the police and the rest of the country as well as millions of taxpayer dollars. I also inflamed riots around the country that led to billions in damage and dozens of lives lost. And people who do those things deserve light sentences just like those who don't do those things!"

Jussie Smollett has been transferred to Cook County Jail where he's already busy staging a fake suicide.

Russia Deploys a Mystery Munition in Ukraine
[Political Wire] "American intelligence officials have discovered that the barrage of ballistic missiles Russia has fired into Ukraine contain a surprise: decoys that trick air-defense radars and fool heat-seeking missiles," the New York Times reports.

"The devices are each about a foot long, shaped like a dart and white with an orange tail, according to an American intelligence official. They are released by the Iskander-M short-range ballistic missiles that Russia is firing from mobile launchers across the border, the official said, when the missile senses that it has been targeted by air defense systems."

"Each is packed with electronics and produces radio signals to jam or spoof enemy radars attempting to locate the Iskander-M, and contains a heat source to attract incoming missiles."

#3  Excellent question Andy. Yes, I suspect the decoy's do confuse and overwhelm defensive radar systems. A few decoys dispersed among successive missile salvos would still permit effective defensive penetration. As we know, the Russians enjoy firing artillery in successive salvos.

Covid Infections Rising Again in Europe, UK -the BA.2 variant
Two weeks after the United Kingdom dropped its last remaining Covid-19 mitigation measure -- a requirement that people who test positive for the virus isolate for five days -- the country is seeing cases and hospitalizations climb once again.

Covid-19 cases were up 48% in the UK last week compared with the week before. Hospitalizations were up 17% over the same period.
The country's daily case rate -- about 55,000 a day -- is still less than a third of the Omicron peak, but cases are rising as fast as they were falling just two weeks earlier, when the country removed pandemic-related restrictions.

Daily cases are also rising in more than half of the countries in the European Union

the UK Health Security Agency said BA.2 had an 80% higher relative growth rate than the original Omicron strain

#1  Oooohhh, scary. Meanwhile, in the US, "Serious/Critical" cases (hospitalizations) have fallen from just over 26,000 on Jan. 22 to just over 4,000 yesterday.

So do we have yet another new strain and one that is more tolerant of slightly warmer weather?

Some additional facts to chew on....

UK COVID-19

Also interesting to notehere we have a country with 64.8 Million residents, with 140.4 Million vaccinations given. Yet still continues to see interesting C-19/22 infection numbers.

Either way, as predicted, arriving just in time for a massive US Media Panic and likely new "LSD creative" Mid-Term Voting processes.

Yet More War
[LoneStarParson}Religious leaders around the world, like Justsin Welby, Pope Francis and Foley improbably named Beach have condemned Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Quite right too, we hate war, but consider. Imagine you were Head of State, a veritable Vladimir Putin.

Imagine, and then consider your borders. Would you put up with, if you had a choice, a hostile power financing and controlling bioweapons labs in a neighboring state and threatening to join a military alliance against you?

It sounds weird and preposterous, but that's exactly what we've been doing. Gay Pride Ukraine and big woke Trannie Corp's gonna take down monster Putin and turn Russia into a rainbow utopia.

A utopia in which you will WEF own nothing and be happy because your bathrooms are multisexual. That would be the West and the Zelensky Ukraine we're all cheering for. The Moscow Patriarchate says no, and so do Russia's MLRS which are pounding Karkov tonight with furious abandon.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Russia-Ukraine War: The Real Issues for the USA
[TheDiplomad] Russia's invasion of the nation of Ukraine grinds on.

It most certainly does not look like the blitzkrieg most of the world expected. Whether this is due to Ukrainian resistance, Russia incompetence, or just a slow deliberate methodical approach to the invasion, none of us outside of Putin's inner circle knows.

From my vantage point, and with the scant knowledge I have, it strikes me as though Putin's plans might have changed at the last minute. It appeared that his forces were building up to launch an invasion of eastern Ukraine, protecting the "independent" republics in that part of the country, and, perhaps, firming up the Russian position around Crimea. It SEEMS--those more knowledgeable, please join the discussion--that the plan got expanded at the last minute, and a multi-prong invasion of Ukraine was undertaken. This new plan, it SEEMS (there's that word), was neither fully developed nor properly resourced; it had not counted on the resistance APPARENTLY shown by the Ukrainians, or the reported incompetence of the Russian logistical system. If this proves so, Russia risks becoming a puppet, a colony of the PRC. The reports coming out that indicate Russia seeks Chinese military equipment and economic assistance seem--that word--to bear this out. That process is underway, it SEEMS.

I really don't know, and my speculation proves almost worth the price of admission to this blog.

What makes it even harder to figure out what's happening is the almost total shut-down of information from Russia, not by the autocrats and yacht-set oligarchs in Moscow, but by the autocrats and tech oligarchs of the "Free" World. If one expresses an interest in hearing the other side of the story, one risks getting labelled a traitor, and getting de-platformed or otherwise shutdown. We see Senator Mitt Romney, for example, calling former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard a traitor because she's asking questions about the bio-lab issue. What? A "traitor"? A death penalty offense? The USA is not a belligerent in this conflict; it is between two foreign nations, neither an ally of the USA. How is questioning the official line "treason"? Is dissent now treason? We have to accept the government line or we are traitors? Just as with COVID, we see our masters using a crisis to stifle democracy and independence of thought at home. What happened to the slogan from just a few months ago that dissent is the highest form of patriotism? Boy, that shifted quickly.
They have to make all this noise because they're the ones who empowered Putin to wage this war and desperately need no-one to notice.
Ending the assault on freedom at home is issue number one.

We also see that these new found "patriots" calling on us to rally around the president and the flag do nothing to protect the long-term interests of the USA--a country many of them openly hate. In fact, they actively work to undermine the position of the US in the world and destroy freedom and prosperity at home.

I have said this before, sorry, but will say it again. The USA can only have security by restoring not just our energy independence, but our technical and industrial independence, as well. This is actually not that hard to do. On energy it's obvious: remove the absurd "green-powered" restrictions on oil, gas, coal, and nuclear development. On industry, takes a little longer, but we need to start. A combination of tax, regulatory, and tariff policies can go far in bringing industry home, stopping the hemorrhaging of our jobs and technical know-how. Sorry, but all those PRC-citizen students in our universities studying science and engineering, need to leave. This is not racist; this is common sense.

We are fools to allow the PRC to mine our technical institutes and companies. The gravy train should end for those American tech moguls who get rich outsourcing key industries. It is absurd, for example, that we have become nearly 100% dependent on China and India for antibiotics, and becoming increasingly likewise dependent on China for microchips and other key components for civilian and military applications.

Reestablishing our energy independence and industrial base is issue number two.

I wish the Ukrainians good luck; I hate what is happening there. My overwhelming concern, however, is for the United States. No more foolish wars or endless expansion of our commitments, and so-called interests abroad. No more flag-draped caskets coming home.

Isolationism? That maligned word? Yes, maybe. You might call it that. I, however, find the word less and less odious, and ever more endearing.

Tulsi Gabbard Smeared as ‘Treasonous Liar' By Sen. Mitt Romney Over Ukraine Biolab Concerns
[Anti-War.com] On Sunday, former House representative for Hawaii Tulsi Gabbard released a video calling for the Biden administration to work with Russia and other parties to establish a ceasefire in Ukraine so dangerous pathogens held by US-funded biological research labs in the country could be destroyed.

Despite the undeniable evidence that there are Pentagon-linked biological labs in Ukraine, any concern about the pathogens has been labeled "Russian propaganda" by hawks in Washington. In response to Gabbard’s video, Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) labeled her as "treasonous."

"Tulsi Gabbard is parroting false Russian propaganda. Her treasonous lies may well cost lives," Romney wrote on Twitter.

Gabbard’s video also elicited a response from Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), one of the leading proponents of the idea that the US should impose a no-fly zone over Ukraine, which would mean direct conflict with Russia and risk nuclear war. "Actual Russian propaganda. Traitorous," Kinzinger said.

In response to Romney, Gabbard challenged Romney to provide evidence that what she said was not true. "Senator Romney, please provide evidence that what I said is untrue and treasonous. If you cannot, you should do the honorable thing: apologize and resign from the Senate," she said.

Gabbard also presented evidence of the US’s involvement with Ukrainian biolabs, including a Pentagon fact sheet dated March 11 that details US funding of the facilities. The Pentagon funds labs in Ukraine through its Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). The fact sheet said since 2005, the US has "invested" $200 million in "supporting 46 Ukrainian laboratories, health facilities, and diagnostic sites."

Putin's Spy Chiefs At the Receiving End of His Fury Over Ukrainian Disaster
[Town Hall] Guy wrote earlier this week about Russian intelligence officials warning that their military faces disaster in Ukraine. The invasion has not really gone according to plan. Russian forces are stalled. Major cities have not been taken; the capital of Kyiv has not been taken. The 40-mile convoy outside of the capital, which is supposedly the force that will deliver the death blow, has not moved in days. The Russian death toll ranges are all over the place. The Ukrainians claim that at least 12,000 Russians have been killed. Other estimates are in the 4-8,000 range. The truth is we don’t know, and we may never know.

We have reports that hospitals in southern Belarus are absolutely overrun with Russian war dead. They’re filled to the brim, with some suggesting that the Russian military has mobile crematoriums to mask the true death count. There are also suspicions that mass graves for dead Russian troops have been created. If true, it means that the Ukrainian estimates are more accurate and that the Russian death toll is catastrophic.

Russia has not been able to gain air superiority, which has allowed Ukrainian defenders to inflict heavy losses against their Russian invaders. We’ll see how long that lasts. They’re holding, and that’s a good thing.

Did Russian intelligence know this and not tell Putin out of fear of upsetting him? Either way, some heads are going to roll. One person who could be a prime scapegoat candidate is Putin's top military adviser, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. For now, it’s his top spy chiefs who have been placed under house arrest (via Daily Mail):

Vladimir Putin has placed the head of the FSB's foreign service and his deputy under house arrest after blaming them for intelligence failings that saw his army handed a series of embarrassing defeats in Ukraine, it has been claimed.

Andrey Soldatov, a respected author on the Russian secret services, said sources inside the FSB told him that Sergey Beseda, 68, head of the agency's foreign service, has been placed under arrest on Putin's orders.

Also arrested is Anatoly Bolyukh, Beseda's deputy, according to Soldatov, who said Putin is 'truly unhappy' with the agency - which he ran before becoming president.

Putin is said to blame the agency for intelligence which assured him ahead of the invasion that Russian forces would face only token resistance from the Ukrainian army and that Ukrainians themselves were eager to be rid of their leaders.
Putin would accept no other conclusion.

VIDEO: Zelensky's 2014 Comedy Routine Making Light of Ukrainian Support for Neo-Nazi Banderites
In 2014, shortly after the Maidan coup stoked by Victoria Nuland, Zelensky was a professional comedian. This video shows his standup routine delivered to a national TV audience in which Zelensky makes light of the Ukrainian regime's support for the neoNazi "Banderite" battalions who were at the time committing atrocities across the east and south of Ukraine.

The routine's format is a mock "letter" to his "uncle" (think: 'Hello Muddah') from a recruit into a Nazi battalion in Ukraine's war on the Donbas region after Nuland's coup in 2014. Half the audience laughs; the other half is appalled. Transcript:

ZELENSKY reads mock "letter" to "uncle":

0:30 "Dear Uncle... things will be alright because I am in the ranks of the [neo-Nazi] Banderites" AUDIENCE LAUGHTER

0:40 "This [ie fighting in a Nazi battalion] is the only way to make money in Ukraine... My salary is small but we are allowed to steal from the Russians" LAUGHTER

0:50 "The same [theft] happened to the Jews, but then the main Bandera man, [Jewish billionaire Igor] Kolomoisky prohibited it"
NERVOUS LAUGHTER, PEOPLE LOOKING DOWN

1:08 "As for me, I'm learning English to forget Russian -- with the help of American mercenaries. They're all over the place."
LESS LAUGHTER

1:17 "I have married: his name is Vadik! This is normal for us Europeans..."
1:35 "Today our president, Barack Obama, has promised us we will join NATO soon - as an American henchman, of course."
1:46 "If you can, please send me Hitler's book, Mein Kampf. They're sold out here." LAUGHTER

Zelensky ends by giving a Nazi salute three times after delivering this last punch line:

1:57 "I do morning exercises on the balcony. I do it like this [Nazi salute, repeated], from my heart to the sun"

This is the obscene little puppet who makes light of his own corruption - he is a protege of the corrupt oligarch Igor Kolomoisky - and his country's open embrace of neo-Nazis. At the same time that those monsters were torturing killing and burning their neighbors.

#5  Some background - the Jewish Ukrainian oligarch whom Zelensky's routine makes light of, Igor Kolomoisky, is not only Zelensky's boss and patron at 1+1. Kolomoisky is a primary funder of thugs and murderers within Kiev and yes, neo-Nazi battalions in the East.

Reuters on Kolomoisky's "shady private armies"::
Amnesty International has reported that the Aidar battalion — also partially funded by Kolomoisky — committed war crimes, including illegal abductions, unlawful detention, robbery, extortion and even possible executions.

Newsweek on Kolomoyski's war criminals:
The Aidar battalion is publicly backed by Ukrainian oligarch Ihor Kolomoyskyi, who also allegedly funds the Azov, Donbas, Dnepr 1, Dnepr 2 volunteer battalions, operating under orders from Kiev

Ukraine war update: morning of March 15
[Ukrinform] Amid losses sustained, Russian troops are replenishing their forces at the expense of mobilized residents of the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region.

That’s according to General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

As of 06:00 on March 15, there have been no significant changes in the position and nature of actions of Ukraine’s defense forces. The Army is inflicting devastating blows on groupings of enemy troops, targeting their rear infrastructure.

Over the past day, the Air Force downed four helicopters and a warplane, while a Ukrainian fighter was shot down an enemy cruise missile.

According to the General Staff, groupings of Russian troops engaged in the offensive had not much success in any of the operational areas. The main efforts are still focused on holding ground on the already occupied positions.

The enemy pursues missile and bomb strikes on critical infrastructure, using a network of health care facilities in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine to treat their wounded.

The invaders also continue to use civilian infrastructure to equip firing positions and place heavy weaponry and military hardware.

According to the General Staff, due to the inability to maintain infrastructure operations in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the Russians have suspended further mobilization of utility workers.

The poor moral and psychological condition of enemy forces leads to their servicemen refusing to fulfill their commanders’ orders.

The available reports suggest that mobilized residents from the temporarily occupied territories in Luhansk region are being deployed to the front line to replenish Russian invasion forces amid losses sustained.

#1  Ukrainian claims of Russian losses of morning of March 15:

Over 13,500 personnel, 404 tanks, 81 planes, 95 helicopters.

7 days ago they claimed the number of dead was 12,000. That means that the pace of ground combat has really dropped in the last 7 days.

Videos that I am seeing in the British newspapers indicates that the battles have moved to the rear supply lines where convoys are being attacked and wiped out. One video I saw was of an engineering column with bridging and construction equipment burning by the side of the road.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
The Great Reset Phase 2: WAR
[Winteroak.org.uk] Welcome to the second phase of the Great Reset: War.

While the pandemic acclimatised the world to lockdowns, normalised the acceptance of experimental medications, precipitated the greatest transfer of wealth to corporations by decimating SMEs and adjusted the muscle memory of workforce operations in preparation for a cybernetic future, an additional vector was required to accelerate the economic collapse before nations can ’Build Back Better.’

I present below several ways in which the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine is the next catalyst for the World Economic Forum’s Great Reset agenda, facilitated by an interconnected web of global stakeholders and a diffuse network of public-private partnerships.

Points brought forward sans full narrative:

1. The war between Russia and Ukraine is already causing unprecedented disruption to global supply chains, exacerbating fuel shortages and inducing chronic levels of inflation.

2. The war’s economic fallout will lead to a dramatic downsizing of the global workforce.

3. The war has significantly reduced Europe’s reliance on the Russian energy sector and reinforced the centrality of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and ‘net zero‘ emissions which lies at the heart of the Great Reset.

4. Food shortages created by the war will offer a major boon to the synthetic biology industry as the convergence of digital technologies with materials science and biology will radically transform the agricultural sector and encourage the adoption of plant-based and lab-grown alternatives on a global scale.

5. Russia’s exclusion from SWIFT (The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication) foreshadows an economic reset which will generate precisely the kind of blowback necessary for corralling large swathes of the global population into a technocratic control grid.

6. This war marks a major inflection point in the globalist aspiration for a new international rules based order anchored in Eurasia.

7. With speculation mounting over the war’s long term impact on bilateral trade flows between China and Europe, the Russia-Ukraine conflict will catapult Israel – a leading advocate of the Great Reset – to even greater international prominence.

8. It is now common knowledge that Digital IDs are a central plank in the World Economic Forum’s Great Reset agenda and are to be streamlined across industries, supply chains and markets as a way of advancing the UN 2030 SDGs and delivering individualised and integrated services in future smart cities.

9. Europe is directly in the line of fire once a hybrid war between NATO and the Sino-Russia axis is underway.

10. The economic implications of this war will be so disastrous that governments and the public sector will require a significant injection of private capital to address the financing shortfall.

1. Spin up Russia Hoax, Steal election (operation Anti-Orange Revolution), Grab Power

2. Spin up Plague Hoax, Grab More Power, Crush Main Street

3. Use recession to justify $5T in new spending, 90% of it needless by its own standards, and set off Hyperinflation

4. Along with #3, Stoke even more Inflation by choking off new O&G production, and Pummel the US middle class

5. Encourage Ruritanian jokers to poke the Bear and provoke a war that's none of our business, then impose the Mother of All Sanctions on the world's biggest wheat and precious metals exporter so as to destroy what's left of the American middle class

Planned Parenthood's bizarre promotion of abortion at the ultra-hip SXSW festival in Austin
[American Thinker] Planned Parenthood obviously has more money than it knows how to spend well. Abortion on a mass scale is quite lucrative, of course, and those who profit from it by definition have a warped sense of humanity. Abortion fanatics can be very generous donors, anxious to see as many babies killed as possible, for reasons I cannot begin to fathom.

But the latest effort by Planned Parenthood Action Fund, the political affiliate of the abortion mill, bespeaks a mentality that doesn’t seem to grasp what abortion actually does: kill children.

Behold the vehicle deployed at SXSW in Austin, Texas:

These tech people are the sort that see everything as an abstraction, primarily. That would include human lives. You must remember, in the end to these people, everything is data, similar to Stalin's casual pronouncement that millions of deaths is "just a statistic."

They are absolutely certain only they understand how to build a better world. There will be broken eggs aplenty as they make their omelet. Think of the way the kitchen looks when mom lets the kids "help" make breakfast.

Durham-related emails prompt DARPA to deny involvement in attributing 2016 DNC hack to Russia
[Washington Examiner] A Pentagon agency has denied any role in attributing the 2016 hack of the Democratic National Committee to Russia after an email indicated special counsel John Durham's team asked a computer expert who had researched Trump-Russia collusion claims about it.

Democratic cybersecurity lawyer Michael Sussmann was indicted last year for allegedly concealing his clients, including Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign, from the FBI when he pushed since-debunked claims of a secret back channel between the Trump Organization and Russia’s Alfa Bank.

Durham revealed in February he has evidence Sussmann’s other client, known to be former Neustar executive Rodney Joffe, "exploited" domain name system internet traffic at Trump Tower, former President Donald Trump’s Central Park West apartment building, and "the Executive Office of the President of the United States."

Dr. Manos Antonakakis, dubbed "Researcher-1" in Durham’s filings, is a professor at Georgia Tech, wrote in a July 2021 email that Durham prosecutor Andrew DeFilippis asked him about work he had done associated with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, apparently also asking him about an online persona named "Guccifer 2.0," whom U.S. intelligence officials and special counsel Robert Mueller concluded was created by Russian intelligence to assist in a hack-and-leak operation against the DNC in 2016.

Notice if will, how the correct questions are so seldom asked.

China orders 51 million into lockdown as COVID surges
[ABC] On Sunday, China ordered all of Shenzhen's 17.5 million residents into a seven-day lockdown, with three rounds of testing. All public transport is halted and all businesses, except essential services, will be closed until March 20.

As a result, Apple supplier Foxconn has shut two of its plants in the area and relocated production elsewhere.

The lockdown and outbreaks threaten manufacturing and tech production in Shenzhen, known as China's Silicon Valley. It's home to Huawei and Tencent, and is home to one of the country's key ports.
The fun continues.

Tell Me How Ukraine Ends
by Peter Van Buren

[American Conservative] Propaganda riven with sympathy for the plucky defenders has dominated the early days of the Ukraine war. This purposefully created a false sense of Russian setbacks and a misunderstanding of Russian strategy. The Russians are executing a standard mechanized warfare maneuver in line with their goals, attacking south from Belarus to link up with forces attacking northward from Crimea. When they link up south of Kiev, Ukraine will be split into two. Kiev may be bypassed, or it may be destroyed, but that is secondary to the larger strategic maneuver. Another Russian thrust from east to west seeks to cut the nation into quarters so Ukrainian forces cannot reinforce one another.

Forget all the silliness about the Russians running out of gas; their supply lines are short (many Russian forces are within 70 miles of their own border), protected, and over decent roads. This is what is happening on the ground and Ukrainian forces are in no position to do anything but delay it. Watching war through a smartphone from a peaceful country may help you believe the Russian assault is going poorly, but that is at odds with the facts.

So, here is how this all ends.

#5  I see three likely endings, the order is random, not in likelyhood or preference of outcome:
(1) Russians run out of material and retrench back to the independent areas and Crimea (with or without a peace treaty). Those areas become parts of Russia.
(2) Afghan option. Russia occupies all of Ukraine and the people fight for a decade with support from the west. Eventually after a long time, perhaps a decade, the Russians pull back but keep those same independent areas and Crimea.
(3) Putin is removed and Russian troops are brought back to Russia. Status of the independent areas and Crimea may be returned to Ukraine in hopes of rejoining the world community. Then again they may not be. Putin could possibly be removed by someone worse than him, no way to tell at this point.

Classified US Intelligence Chat Rooms a 'Dumpster Fire' of Hate Speech, Says Ex-NSA Contractor
I had the idea, reading this, that hosting an internal version of Twitter might not be the best use of the employees’ time...
[Military] An internal U.S. intelligence messaging system became a "dumpster fire" of hate speech during the Trump administration, a veteran National Security Agency contractor says. And it's "ongoing," another Defense Department contractor tells SpyTalk.

Dan Gilmore, who was in charge of overseeing internal chat rooms for the Intelink system for over a decade starting in 2011, says that by late 2020 the system was afire with incendiary hate-filled commentary, especially on "eChirp," the intelligence community's clone of Twitter.

"I was the admin of this application and after a couple years, it became a dumpster fire," Gilmore, a 30-year veteran of Navy and NSA cryptologic systems, wrote Thursday in an extraordinary public post on his own website. "Professionalism was thrown out the window, and flame wars became routine."
Flame wars are highly unprofessional, not to mention a time suck and general morale destroyer. That was the point when Mr. Gilmore should have recommended shutting the thing down as hopeless, even if it meant he would have to find other employment.
NSA did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

"Hate speech was running rampant on our applications," wrote Gilmore, whose identity and credentials have been vouched for by another Pentagon contractor. "I'm not being hyperbolic. Racist, homophobic, transphobic, Islamaphobic [sic], and misogynistic speech was being posted in many of our applications."

Even more startling, Gilmore alleges, "there were many employees at CIA, DIA, NSA, and other IC agencies that openly stated that the January 6th terrorist attack on our Capitol was justified."
Noted for future reference.
Gilmore says that "more than a few babus government employees at many different IC agencies" grew "concerned about the content that Intelink was allowing to be hosted."

"I wanted to tell everyone that there is a cancer within the government and when I tried to weed it out, I got fired," Gilmore wrote. "It was just easier for government management to get rid of me rather than to deal with the underlying issue."

Another NSA contractor told SpyTalk that the hate speech started in 2016 after Trump's election and is "ongoing." Trump's followers in the agency get away with professional indiscretions, some of them serious, while others get dismissed for minor infractions, this person said on condition of anonymity.

"We literally had folks get their clearances burned for time card discrepancies while pro-MAGA types might have multiple DUIs, foreign contacts, and (in one case) vehicular homicide," the source said. "They were kept working while others were let go."

Extremist groups have made inroads in U.S. military and police units, experts say. Intelligence sources have told SpyTalk over the past several months that pro-Trump fervor is centered in special operations and hostage rescue units.
...where the pointy end of the spear is lived, and airy theory and political games must give way to hard facts.

Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[NewsFrontInfo] 22:00 First Deputy Minister of Information of the DPR Daniil Bezsonov:

I came across an interesting report by the commander of the 105th Separate Territorial Defense Battalion of the 109th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade, which was on electronic media in the military registration and enlistment office of the city of Volnovakha.

According to this report, local authorities were able to allocate only those facilities that belonged to them to accommodate the newly formed paramilitary units. And these are municipal facilities - primarily schools and preschool institutions.

21:35 On the operational line, the DPR Ministry of Health received information about the wounding of five civilians from the territories previously liberated by the NM of the DPR as a result of shelling by the VFU:

- woman, born in 1974

- woman, born in 1974

- male, born in 1972

- woman, born in 1977

— girl, born in 2014

Proceedings will be held on all facts of war crimes of the VFU, and the results will be transferred to the General Prosecutor's Office of the DPR.

21:26 In the near future, 2,100 volunteers from Nagorno-Karabakh are expected to be sent to support the forces of the NM DPR. The backbone will be artillery units. Crews of anti-tank systems, D-30 howitzers and self-propelled guns Gvozdika. All volunteers have 2020 extreme war experience. 4 Bangladeshi terrorists arrested in MP: A ticking time bomb called illegal immigration
[OneIndia] Security agencies have very often flagged illegal immigration as one of the biggest security threats the country is facing. The arrest of four Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh
The JMB is said to be the youth front of Al Mujahideen, the parent organization that began working toward establishing Bangladesh as an Islamic state in the mid 1990s, which remains obscure and probably defunct today. Other organizations, such as Jama'atul Jihad, JMB, Jagrata Muslim Janata Bangladesh (JMJB), Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami (HUJI), Hizbut Tawhid, Tawhidi Janata, Islami Jubo Shangha, Islami Shangha, Al Falah A'am Unnayan Shanstha and Shahadat-e al Hiqma are believed to be part of the Al Mujahideen network. The JMB at its peak was reported to contain at least 100,000 members, and an alleged 2,000-man suicide brigade, few of whom actually exploded. JMB allegedly received financial assistance from individual donors in Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Libya. Reports have claimed that funding of JMB by international NGOs like Kuwait based Society of the Revival of Islamic Heritage (RIHS) and Doulatul Kuwait, Saudi Arabia based Al Haramaine Islamic Institute and Rabita Al Alam Al Islami, Qatar Charitable Society and UAE-based Al Fuzaira and Khairul Ansar Al Khairia. The top leadership of JMB was captured in 2005 and hung in 2007, which pretty much shot their bolt.

Government Corruption
Michigan Election Official Charged With Ballot Tampering, Misconduct
[THEEPOCHTIMES] A Michigan county elections official and former township clerk was charged with ballot tampering related to the August 2020 primary election, according to state Attorney General Dana Nessel. Kathy Funk, who was running in 2020 as a Democrat for reelection as Flint Township clerk, also was charged with misconduct in office, Nessel said. The charges, which are both felonies, each carry a maximum sentence of five years in prison upon conviction.

Nessel alleged that Funk purposely broke a seal on a container for ballots so that the votes couldn’t be totaled during an anticipated recount. She narrowly won reelection in the unofficial count, the attorney general’s office said.

"Election officials must uphold the integrity of their positions. Those who abuse that commitment undermine the very foundation of our democracy," Nessel, a Democrat, said in a Twitter response to a Clickonbankrupt, increasingly impoverished, reliably Democrat, Detroit
... ruled by Democrats since 1962. A city whose Golden Age included the Purple Gang...
report.

"Our department is committed to prosecuting election violations, regardless of the political party of the perpetrator."

Nessel’s office didn’t provide any more details about the allegations against Funk.

After the August 2020 election, Funk filed a report with the Flint Township Police Department claiming there was a break-in at the election office and said a seal on a canister containing ballots had been broken, according to local reports. Her opponent, Manya Triplett, said she had considered a recount but, according to state election law, those votes couldn’t be included in a recount because of the tampering.

Under Section 168.871 of Michigan state law, "the board of canvassers conducting a recount" has to look over "all ballots of a precinct using an electronic voting system" unless certain problems arise.

The law stipulates that ballots cannot be recounted if "the seal on the transfer case or other ballot container" is broken or have a different number than recorded in the poll record book, among other circumstances. If the seal on the ballot "label assembly" is broken or if numbers don’t match the poll records or ballot labels, they cannot be counted, according to the Michigan Legislature’s website, which offers details of state voting law.

Funk later resigned as Flint Township clerk to become Genesee County’s elections supervisor, the Detroit Free Press reported.

Funk’s attorney told the news outlet that she is expected to enter a plea of not guilty.

"She says it’s absolutely not true," attorney Matthew Norwood said of the charges, according to the outlet.

Genesee County officials and Norwood didn’t respond to a request for comment by press time.

Iranian missile attack in Erbil struck Israeli training facility, US official tells NYT; Wait — never mind, it isn’t, says a more senior
[IsraelTimes] One of the buildings in Erbil struck over the weekend by a missile fired by Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was an Israeli training facility, a senior US official tells The New York Times

... which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

The US consulate was not the target of the attack, but the IRGC does not mind that it was nearby, the official adds.

Iraqi PM inspects site of Iran missile attack which Tehran said targeted Israeli base
[IsraelTimes] Iraq’s prime minister meets with Kurdish officials and inspects the site of an Iranian missile attack near the American consulate in the northern Iraqi city of Erbil.

Mustafa al Kadhimi is received by Masrour Barzani, prime minister of the semi-autonomous Kurdish-controlled region.

The Iraqi premier inspected damage caused by some 12 ballistic missiles that landed near the US consulate, which is new and unoccupied, and caused damage to a nearby local television channel.

grabbed credit for Sunday’s missile barrage, calling it retaliation for an alleged Israeli strike in Syria that killed two members of its Revolutionary Guard last week.

A "strategic center for conspiracy and mischiefs of the Zionists was targeted by powerful precision missiles fired by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps," the Guards said in a statement.

Kurdish authorities have dismissed as "baseless" Iran’s claims of Israeli sites in the area.

Iran warns against ‘threats’ from Iraqi soil after missile strike on alleged Israeli site
[IsraelTimes] Iran
...The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both...
warns it won’t tolerate "threats" coming from Iraq, a day after firing ballistic missiles at what it said was an Israeli site in the neighboring country.

"It is not at all acceptable that one of our neighbors that has deep relations with us... becomes a center for creating threats against the Islamic Theocratic Republic," says foreign ministry front man Saeed Khatibzadeh.

"Iran will not tolerate that a center near its borders becomes the center for sabotage, conspiracy and sending terrorist groups to Iran," he says at his weekly presser in Tehran.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said Sunday they had targeted a "strategic center" belonging to Israel in the northern Iraqi city of Erbil, using "powerful precision missiles."

Kurdish authorities, however, insisted that Israel has no sites in or near Erbil, the capital of their autonomous region in Iraq’s north.

So unprofessional:

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
IDF reports two incidents of settler violence at illegal Homesh outpost
[IsraelTimes] The Israel Defense Forces reports two violent mostly peaceful incidents committed by settlers at the illegal Homesh outpost against troops stationed in the area in recent days.

On Saturday night, settlers who were hurling stones at Paleostinian vehicles in the area attacked a soldier who attempted to stop them, the IDF says.

And earlier today, a settler rammed a military checkpoint near the outpost, hitting an officer and another soldier, the military says. The two did not require further medical treatment according to the IDF.

No suspects have been arrested, and the incidents have been reported to the police.

The unauthorized settlement was officially dismantled in 2005, but a hardline yeshiva has continued to operate there on a daily basis, with no intervention by the army, in direct violation of Israeli law.

Jumblat Urges 'Positive Dialogue' with GCC Countries
[An Nahar] Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Wally Jumblat
...Druze politician, head of the Progressive Socialist Party, who's been on every side in Leb at least four times. He'll sell you his friends for a dollar, but family comes higher because of shipping and handling...

...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...

He told the PSP's al-Anbaa news portal, in remarks published Monday, that fixing the relations with the Gulf Cooperation Council is a "high priority."

He said that every effort must be put to "return Lebanon to the Arab fold," and urged the government for positive dialogue with the GCC countries.

In a social media statement on Monday Jumblat slammed the government, accusing it of ignoring the electricity file and the ration card.

"This government has decided to completely blackout the electricity file after promises about Egyptian gas and Jordanian electricity," he said.

Europe
Germany to Buy U.S.-Made F-35s to Replace Ageing Bombers
[An Nahar] Germany said Monday that it will replace some of its ageing Tornado bomber jets with U.S.-made F-35A Lightning II aircraft capable of carrying nuclear weapons.

Announcing the decision, Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht said Germany also will upgrade its Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets for electronic warfare — a capability that's also currently fulfilled by the Tornado jets. The Eurofighter will be replaced from 2040 with the Future Combat Air System, or FCAS, that's being jointly developed with La Belle France and Spain, she said.

Germany's air force commander, Ingo Gerhartz, said the current war in Ukraine made it necessary to choose Lockheed Martin's F-35s. Previously, the government had considered replacing the Luftwaffe's Tornados with a mix of different U.S. and European-made aircraft.

"There can be only one answer to (Russian President Vladimir) Putin's aggression," said Gerhartz. "Unity in NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A collection of multinational and multilingual and multicultural armed forces, all of differing capabilities, working toward a common goal by pulling in different directions...
and a credible deterrent. This in particular means there is no alternative but to choose the F-35."

The German military does not have nuclear weapons of its own, but as part of the system of nuclear deterrence developed during the Cold War it maintained bombers capable of carrying U.S. atomic bombs, some of which are stationed in Germany.

The opposition Left Party criticized the decision to purchase almost three dozen F-35s for Germany's military.

"We reject arming the Bundeswehr with new, nuclear-capable combat jets," said Ali al-Dailami, the party's deputy defense front man. He warned that equipping German pilots to drop U.S. atomic bombs could "fuel the risk of nuclear war in Europe."

Libya Frees 32 Detained Palestinian Migrants

On Monday, the Palestinian Embassy in Tripoli announced that it had managed to secure the release of 32 Palestinians, who had been held for a lack of legal travel documents.

In a statement, the Embassy said that their release came after great efforts by the acting Ambassador, Mohamed Rahhal with the Libyan authorities. It pointed out that efforts are underway to correct their legal status, and residency in Libya.

Notably, a boat carrying about two dozen migrants capsized off the coast of Libya on Saturday. At least 19 people are presumed dead, authorities said.

The shipwreck is the latest tragedy involving migrants crossing the Mediterranean sea. Libya has emerged as the dominant transit point for migrants fleeing war and poverty in Africa and the Middle East, hoping for a better life in Europe.

Human traffickers have benefitted from the chaos in the country. People are smuggled through the country’s porous borders, before being packed into ill-equipped rubber boats, in risky voyages through the perilous central Mediterranean sea route.

At least 192 migrants drowned along the central Mediterranean route in the first two months of 2022, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) said. More than 2,930 were intercepted and taken back to Libya. Once back, the migrants are typically taken to government-run detention centers, rife with abuse and ill-treatment.

In 2021, an estimated 32,425 migrants were intercepted and returned to Libya. At least 1,553 are presumed to have drowned last year, according to IOM.

Iran's FM to Hold Talks on Nuclear Deal in Moscow
[An Nahar] Tehran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian will head to Moscow on Tuesday, his ministry said, days after negotiations on an Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
nuclear deal stalled amid new Russian demands.

Amir-Abdollahian will "go to Moscow on Tuesday" to continue discussions on the nuclear deal, ministry front man Saeed Khatibzadeh told news hounds on Monday.

Ten months of talks in Vienna have brought major powers close to renewing a landmark 2015 agreement on regulating Iran's nuclear program.

But the negotiations were halted again after Russia on March 5 demanded guarantees that Western sanctions imposed following its invasion of Ukraine would not damage its trade with Iran.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has dismissed as "irrelevant" the Russian demands for guarantees, saying that they "just are not in any way linked together".

The current round of negotiations started in late November in the Austrian capital between Iran and Britannia, China, La Belle France, Germany and Russia, with the U.S. taking part indirectly.

The 2105 deal gave Iran sanctions relief in exchange for curbs on its nuclear program.

But the US unilaterally withdrew from the accord in 2018 under then-president Donald Trump
...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party...
and imposed tough economic sanctions on different sectors, including oil exports.

ISIS operatives planning violent jihad in India had receed several Hindu Temples
[OneIndia] In its supplementary chargesheet against two residents of Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
, the National Investigation Agency said that the accused persons were involved in recruiting cadres for the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
The NIA filed the supplementary chargesheet against Afshan Parvaiz Jarabi and Tawhead Latief Sofi, both residents of Srinagar. The case relates to the conspiracy hatched by the ISIS to radicalise and recruit Moslem youth in India to wage violent mostly peaceful Jihad against India.

The NIA said that in order to achieve their goal, an organised campaign was launched online supplemented by on ground financing activities. The case was registered against cyber entity Qasim Khurasani and his associates.

The NIA said that in the case Parvaiz is a top ISIS operative and a close associate of one Umar Nisar. He was also associated with the Afghanistan-Pakistain based ISIS operatives and was involved in the recruitment of youth. Following the arrest of Nisar, he was appointed as the head of the ISIS in India.

Parvaiz was also handling the media as well as the ground activities of the ISIS. He was also actively disseminating the ISIS propaganda material through various online platforms.

The other accused Tawheed Latief Sofi was also a close associate of previously charge sheeted accused persons Umar Nisar and Jufri Jawhar Damudi. He was involved in content editing and poster creation for ISIS propaganda magazine, Voice of Hind and had also carried out recee of Hindu temples, Government buildings including cop shoppes to carry out subversive acts.

Top Russian Spy Killed In War With Ukraine
[SAHARAREPORTERS] Russia has admitted to losing its first GRU military intelligence spy in the war - the latest high-profile casualty of the savage Ukraine invasion.

Captain Alexey Glushchak, 31, from Tyumen in Siberia, died in the carnage in Ukrainian port Mariupol, but the Russians have given no details of how he was killed.

'Due to the strict secrecy of the military operation, the circumstances of the death of the Tyumen hero are not disclosed,' said a statement.

Pictures emerged of father-of-one Glushchak's funeral in Russia, where he was buried with full military honours and a guard of honour, despite Russia hiding 'thousands' of deaths from those back at home, Daily Mail reports.

Putin's stalling invasion has so far seen the loss of 12 commanders including three generals.

Glushchak was killed fighting near Mariupol, the Russian military said, as it acknowledges losing a GRU officer for the first time.

On the day the military intelligence officer died he had spoken to both his wife and mother in Russia, it was revealed.

He called to congratulate them on International Women's Day but on the same day in the evening they learned he had been killed.

He will be posthumously decorated.

Two elite paratrooper intelligence officers were also revealed to have been killed as the toll worsens for Vladimir Putin
" ...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
’s forces.

Georgy Dudorov, deputy commander of the reconnaissance company for the 137th regiment of the 106th Tula Guards Airborne Division, was acknowledged as dead.

Another paratrooper intelligence officer killed was Aleksey Aleshko, a graduate of the prestigious Ryazan Guards Higher Airborne School.

It follows the loss of Major General Andrei Kolesnikov of the 29th Combined Arms Army last week, the third general to be killed in battle of the 20 taking part in the invasion.

His death came four days after the killing of Major General Vitaly Gerasimov, 45, the first deputy commander of Russia's 41st army.

The general took part in the second Chechen war, the Russian military operation in Syria, and the annexation of Crimea, winning medals from those campaigns.

According to reports, Gerasimov was the son of Valery Gerasimov - the Chief of General Staff of Russia's armed forces.

And Major General Andrei Sukhovetsky, 47, deputy commander of the 41st Combined Arms Army of the Central Military District, was killed.

Sukhovetsky died during a special operation in Ukraine, his comrade-in-arms Sergey Chipilev wrote on social media.

He was shot and killed by a sniper near Mariupol, which has been under a brutal siege by Russian forces for days.

Their deaths coincide with the first expressions of anger and dismay on the toll of coffins now returning to Russia.

Accurate numbers of Russian troops killed in fighting are hard to come by. Ukraine claims 12,000 have been killed, but has not updated that figure for several days.

European and American estimates are lower - between 2,000 and 6,000 - while Russia has only acknowledged around 500 deaths.

Israeli government websites crash after ‘massive’ cyberattack, officials say
[IsraelTimes] Users unable to reach sites with gov.il extension for an hour, as National Cyber Directorate reportedly declares state of emergency over incident.

Israeli government websites were downed for over an hour due to a major cyberattack on Monday evening, officials said.

Communications Minister Yoaz Hendel held an assessment with officials due to the "broad cyberattack" on government websites, a statement from his office said.

Users attempting to enter sites with gov.il extensions were unable to for at least an hour, before the sites slowly began to come back online.

"Operations have been carried out by communications companies in order to return the service as soon as possible, and the service is gradually returning," the Communications Ministry said.

"The ministry will continue to monitor [the situation] until full restoration," it added.

Internet-access advocacy group NetBlocks tweeted that a "significant disruption has been registered on multiple networks supplied by Israel’s leading [internet] providers," with a graph showing connectivity interruption.

An official cited by Hebrew-language media reports said the National Cyber Directorate declared a state of emergency in order to study the extent of the damage caused by the "massive" cyberattack.

According to assessments, the Israeli sites were taken down via a denial-of-service attack, which bombards websites with junk traffic to render them unreachable, though this remained unconfirmed.

Israeli officials did not immediately say who was behind the attack, but some media reports were quick to point the finger at Iran.

Israel and Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites....
have for years been involved in a largely quiet cyberwar, which occasionally bubbles to the surface.
Jerusalem Post reported that an allegedly Iranian-affiliated hacker group had grabbed credit for the apparent attack. The ministries of health, interior and justice as well as the prime minister's office were all at least briefly down Monday.

Access to some of the sites had been restored, the government said. While the homepages of some government pages were down, subdomains continued to work, The Jerusalem Post reported.

Iranian state TV said Iran
...They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
had thwarted an attack on the nuclear site in Fordow. Iran has previously accused Israel of carrying out similar attacks in the past on the country's nuclear facilities.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Report Says IS Planned to Assassinate Macron, 'Saad Too'
[An Nahar] The Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
had planned to assassinate French President Emmanuel Macron during a visit to Leb
...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
in September 2020, al-Akhbar newspaper reported on Monday. The daily said it has learned that the IS group had also been planning to assassinate ex-Prime Minister Saad Hariri
...Second son of Rafik Hariri, the Leb PM who was assassinated in 2005. He has was prime minister in his own right from 2009 through early 2011. He was born in Riyadh to an Iraqi mother and graduated from Georgetown University. He managed his father's business interests in Riyadh until his father's assassination. When his father died he inherited a fortune of some $4.1 billion, which won't do him much good if Hizbullah has him bumped off, too....
and Free Patriotic Movement
Despite its name a Christian party allied with Hizbullah, neither free nor particularly patriotic...
chief Jebran Bassil.

The Lebanese investigations indicated that the IS hard boyz were instructed to carry out a suicide kaboom in a blast-hit Christian neighborhood or at the Beirut port, al-Akhbar said.

A coded message was found on a laptop belonging to the network's leader Mohammed al-Hajjar. The technical info showed that members of the IS group and an external handler had discussed the possibility of Hariri being with the French President at the targeted site. The handler answered: "Kill Saad too!"
ISIS does that a lot: they make grand plans, get everybody all worked up, but then nothing ever happens.

#2  Is Macron trying to copy Zelensky?

Let's hope he doesn't do a pro-Nazi comic routine that jokes about their Nazi battalions like this standup performance of Zelensky's

#4  Excerpts below from Zelensky's stand up routine given on a national variety show while he was a professional comedian.

The format is a mock "letter" to his "uncle" (think: 'Hello Muddah') from a recruit into a Nazi battalion in Ukraine's war on the Donbas region after Nuland's coup in 2014. Half the audience laughs; the other half is appalled.

Zelensky ends with a bang, giving a Nazi salute three times after delivering this last punch line:
1:57 "I do morning exercises on the balcony. I do it like this [Nazi salute, reieated], from my heart to the sun"

^ This is the obscene little puppet who makes light of his at his own corruption and his country's open embrace of neo-Nazis.

1. Which country is fascist dictatorship
2. Which county had free election and a surprise outside candidate win.
3. Which president is Jewish? Do you really think, even jokingly, of buying Mein Kampf or making the Nazi salutes?
4. Zelensky was the Ukrainian voice of Paddington Bear. Do you think the American producers would tolerate him going around and promoting Mein Kampf? Seriously. All we have heard from Russians are lies, misdirection and demoralization posts since the beginning of the invasion buildup.

The video is authentic. At minimum, this man is a sick asshole who enjoys manipulating people like you.

Biden White House Gives 30 TikTok Influencers a Briefing on Russia-Ukraine War
[AMGREATNESS] Dozens of TikTok "influencers" were given a White House briefing on the Russia-Ukraine war, Thursday, the Washington Post reported. In a Zoom call, National Security Council staffers and White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki
...a valley girl who woke up one morning and found she was spokeswoman for the U.S. Department of State under Obama...
reportedly provided to "30 top TikTok stars" the Biden administration’s talking points on "the United States’ strategic goals," and answered a number of questions.According to WaPo internet technology news hound Taylor Lorenz, "millions" of people are turning to the Chinese-owned social media app for information about what is going on in Ukraine.

TikTok videos offered some of the first glimpses of the Russian invasion and since then the platform has been a primary outlet for spreading news to the masses abroad. Ukrainian citizens hiding in bomb shelters or fleeing their homes have shared their stories to the platform, while dangerous misinformation and Russian propaganda have also spread. And TikTok stars, many with millions of followers, have increasingly sought to make sense of the crisis for their audiences.

This is not the first time, the administration has used TikTok influencers for propaganda purposes.

The administration worked with dozens of top TikTok stars last year to encourage vaccination. He also hosted a briefing for influencers to educate them about his infrastructure plan. To emphasize the child-care components of his "Build Back Better" initiative, he sat for interviews with two parenting influencers on Facebook Live and YouTube.

Last August, the Biden White House recruited a TikTok personality known as "Benny Drama" to promote the experimental, genetic vaccines in a cringe-inducing video called "A day in my life as a White House intern

#3  /\ One likely course of action (COA) would be a pull-back to separatist controlled Lunask and Donetsk region and connect the land-bridge (and rail link) between Crimea and Mariupol along the Black Sea.

Pushing the Crimean border northward to Kherson could also be a part of that COA.

Having nearly cut off Ukraine's access to the Black Sea, declare victory, hand out orders of Saint George medals, and hurry off to the Bolshoi.

Their testimonies of the horrors of war are a stunning combination of unfiltered emotion and calm descriptiveness. RFE/RL interviewed several Ukrainian refugee children in Poland and Lithuania on March 2-8.

China claims it's captured US NSA spy tool dubbed Trojan horse that can ‘control global internet equipment & steal info'
[Sun] The alleged NSA spy tool is capable of lurking in a victim's computer and accessing sensitive information, according to the Chinese outlet Global Times.

Despite the claims, there has been no confirmation by US officials on the alleged hack or of the tool's existence.

A report obtained by the outlet from National Computer Virus Emergency Response Center claims the dubbed Trojan horse, or NOPEN, is a remote control tool for Unix/Linux computer systems.

The instrument can allegedly remotely control existing network servers and terminals, which attackers can manually implant, or cyberattack platforms by the NSA, the outlet reported citing the NCVERC report.

According to the Chinese outlet, the tool is "mainly used to steal files, access systems, redirect network communication, and view a target device's information."

It died in the late 80s and no one noticed. We have been building up against "near peer" adversaries and only in the last few years (see Syria and now Ukraine) have we seen that the Russian stuff isn't even close to peer level. It is little better than the stuff Iraq had in 1991.

Yeah, the Russians have some kewl high tech toys... but they cost a lot to produce them and they can't afford to put them into mass production. And the money spent on them hasn't gone to military upgrades or training. What little went there was hovered up by corrupt generals and spent on yachts.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Eric Garcetti Ambassadorship Hits Snag As U.S. Senator Launches Investigation Into Harassment Allegations Against Mayor's Advisor
[Deadline] Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti’s path to becoming the next U.S. ambassador to India hit a potential snag Thursday when a senior senator said he wants Garcetti’s confirmation vote delayed pending an investigation into whether the mayor knew about and ignored sexual harassment and assault allegations made against his former senior advisor.

In a letter made available to Politico, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) told Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky), "I will object (to Garcetti’s nomination) because I have received numerous credible allegations from multiple whistleblowers alleging that Mr. Garcetti, while mayor of Los Angeles, had knowledge of sexual harassment and assaults allegedly committed against multiple city employees and their associates by his close advisor, and that he ignored the misconduct."

Investigators in Grassley’s office are reportedly conducting their own investigation into the allegations and requested the nomination be put on hold until their process is complete.

Grassley continued, "The United States owes it to the Republic of India to send them a qualified Ambassador that will represent the values of the United States. Mayor Garcetti may very well be fully qualified, but at this time, the Senate needs to look at these allegations further."

Grassley also said his office had spoken with people who "have not previously spoken to the Foreign Relations Committee, and are presenting new allegations that must be fully investigated."

According to Politico, Democrats can confirm Garcetti without GOP support, but they will need all 50 of their members in attendance as well as Vice President Kamala Harris’ vote to break a 50-50 tie.

The Office of the Mayor pushed back on Grassley’s allegations.

"Repeating a malicious falsehood will never turn a lie into the truth," it said in a statement to Deadline. "The Mayor has testified under oath multiple times, including before the U.S. Senate, and stands by his testimony unequivocally: he absolutely did not witness nor was he informed of any of the behavior being alleged. The Mayor has spent the better part of his life advocating aggressively on this issue, and had he been aware of any such behavior, he absolutely would have acted to stop it."

Karachi police fear resurgence of sectarian terrorism
Yesterday the murder, today public agonizing over the murder.
[Dawn] Investigators probing the murder of a big shot of Pasban-e-Aza
...a Shiite organization in Pakistan...
feared the return of sectarian terrorism in the metropolis, as they believed that Syed Salman Haider Rizvi was killed because of sectarian reasons.

On Saturday night, Rizvi, the son of Pasban-e-Aza founder SM Haider, was shot full of holes by armed assailants near his home in Federal B Area’s Block 20.

Talking to Dawn, Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) official Raja Umar Khattab recalled that such a killing apparently based on sectarianism took place after a considerable period.

He feared the sectarian terrorism was again rearing its ugly head in the metropolis.

The official pointed out that the victim had been a close associate of Askari Raza, who was shot full of holes in a sectarian attack in the past.

Investigators treating Pasban-e-Aza leader’s murder as sectarian killing case

He said the initial probe revealed that four assailants were already waiting for Rizvi and when he got off the vehicle after reaching his home in Ancholi, one of the attackers approached him.

The official said that after a brief chat, in which the assailant probably asked Rizvi’s name, he fired at him and rode away along with his accomplices.

Spent bullet casings fired from a 9mm pistol had been collected from the scene of the crime and sent to police’s forensic science laboratory for cross-matching.

FUNERAL
In the evening on Sunday, the Pasban-e-Aza leader was laid to rest.

His funeral prayers were held on Shahrah-e-Pakistain after Zuhrain, which was led by Allama Hasan Zafar Naqvi. Religious scholars, leaders of different parties and people belonging to different segments of society attended the funeral. He was laid to rest in the Wadi-e-Hussain graveyard on Superhighway.

The victim apart from being active for release of missing persons was associated with different organizations and trusts.

’CONSPIRACY FOR VIOLENCE’
Talking to the media after the funeral, Allama Baqar Zaidi demanded the arrest of the killers within 24 hours and warned that they would be compelled to hold a countrywide protest.

He added that under a well-planned ’conspiracy’, assassinations of Shia leaders had been started in Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
after similar incidents took place in other parts of the country.

He expressed the fear that ’sectarian violence’ might be raising its ugly head again, but the rulers seemed to be busy in partisan politics.

The religious leaders urged the president, prime minister, chief justice and chief of army staff to take notice of the killing.

Separately, Jamaat-e-Islami
...The Islamic Society, founded in 1941 in Lahore by Maulana Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi, aka The Great Apostosizer. The Jamaat opposed the independence of Bangladesh but has operated an independent branch there since 1975. It maintains close ties with international Mohammedan groups such as the Moslem Brotherhood. the Taliban, and al-Qaeda. The Jamaat's objectives are the establishment of a pure Islamic state, governed by Sharia law. It is distinguished by its xenophobia, and its opposition to Westernization, capitalism, socialism, secularism, and liberalist social mores...
Karachi chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman as condemned the murder of Pasban-e-Aza leader and the killing of the driver of JI leader Imtiaz Palarin in a gun attack on his car in Nooriabad early on Sunday morning.

Hafiz Naeem said the recent killings were aimed at triggering ’sectarian violence’ in the metropolis.

He claimed that the Sindh government and law enforcers had failed to protect citizens.

Charge Putin with war crimes — here's how the world can bring him to justice
[FOXNEWS] Bombing a maternity hospital,
They did that in Chechnya too. Look how they rounded up the perps...
shelling residential buildings, firing on fleeing refugees, and destroying any infrastructure that supports the lives of innocent civilians ... are all war crimes under international law. Whoever is involved in the chain of command that gave the orders — all the way up to the head of state — can and should be charged. This means Russian President Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
must be indicted for war crimes.

There is no question about who issued the orders. The invasion of Ukraine and the cruel bombing campaign cannot be blamed on a rogue Russian general. It was organized and directed by Putin himself. He admitted as much in his maniacal vows to destroy his perceived enemies in neighboring Ukraine.

Historically, the gathering of incriminating evidence has been both difficult and time-consuming. Perpetrators cover up their crimes and witnesses are reluctant to speak out in fear for their own lives. But the atrocities in Ukraine are different.

On a daily basis, the world has watched in real time many of the war crimes committed by the military forces that Putin controls. Thanks to modern technology, the evidence has been collected by news hounds with cameras, as well as Ukrainians on their cellphones or other devices. Satellite images confirm the death and destruction.

The compilation and authentication of the damning evidence is no longer an obstacle as it once was. It has already been communicated electronically throughout the world and stored. We have watched it unfold with our own eyes.

The appalling video of the bombings as they happened, photographs of mangled bodies of women and kiddies, pictures of mass graves, and the personal accounts of the carnage by those who watched in horror constitute self-evident proof.

In the city of Mariupol alone, some 1,200 civilians were slaughtered. That number seems to rise by the hour. The names of the victims and how they were massacred by Putin’s heavily armed troops have been meticulously recorded.

Iranian femme fatale lures man to NV hotel for kinky sex, stabs him as revenge for US killing Soleim
[BIZPACREVIEW] In a truly bizarre story out of Nevada, an Iranian woman
...so she is Iranian. I wondered about that...
was arrested for stabbing a man who she lured to a Las Vegas-area hotel after hooking up with him on a dating app, an act of Dire Revenge for the 2020 killing of a top Iranian terrorist leader.

Nika Nikoubin was arrested after police responded to a call from the 14th floor of the Sunset Station Hotel and Casino which, according to its website, is just minutes from the Las Vegas Strip in nearby Henderson, the incident occurred on March 5.

Upon their arrival, the officers found the injured man who had been stabbed after being blindfolded during sex, his identity has not been released.

The motive for the depraved act of violence appears to have been retribution for the death of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, a terrorist criminal mastermind who was taken out by a dronezap that was authorized by former President Donald J. Trump.

The 21-year-old femme fatale said that the reason for stabbing her victim twice in the neck was "for Dire Revenge against U.S. troops for the killing of Qassem Soleimani
in 2020," according to the police report, she also said that she didn’t want to kill him.

Nikoubin met her victim through the popular dating app Plenty of Fish , luring him to Sunset Station for kinky sex, "While in the room, the pair began engaging in sexual activity, when Nikoubin put a blindfold on the victim, police said. Nikoubin then turned off the lights, and several minutes later, the victim "felt a pain on the side of his neck," according to Las Vegas CBS affiliate 8 News Now.

"After the stabbing, the victim pushed Nikoubin off of him and ran out of the room to call 911, police said," the outlet reported, "Nikoubin also ran out of the room, telling a hotel employee that she had just stabbed a man, police said."

Nikoubin found inspiration in music, "When talking to police, Nikoubin told an investigator "she wanted Dire Revenge," police said. She said she had listened to a song called "Grave Digger," which "gave her the motivation... to carry out her Dire Revenge" the News Agency that Dare Not be Named reported.
Certainly the name appears designed to trigger something.

Steve Harrigan Returns From Ukraine With a Somber Message About the Situation
[ConservativeTreehouse] Fox News correspondent Steve Harrigan returns from Ukraine with a somber message about the situation and likely future. Harrigan notes that Russian victory in Ukraine is a foregone conclusion — Ukraine will be flattened if needed. However, that outcome comes at a serious cost.

The war inside Ukraine will wage on for years as an insurgency against Vladimir Putin. The western alliance will spend trillions if needed. NATO will kill as many Ukrainians and mercenary units as needed in order to battle Vladimir Putin in a proxy war. The industrial war machine will gleefully churn out the material needed for the DC based political war machine to purchase.

Arabia
Yemen Report Says 161K to Face Famine
[An Nahar] More than a dozen U.N. agencies and international aid groups said Monday that 161,000 people in war-torn Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
are likely to experience famine over the second half of 2022 — a fivefold increase from the current figure.

The stark warning came in a report by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification, or IPC, ahead of an annual fund-raising conference that the United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
is hosting on Wednesday. The IPC is a global partnership of 15 U.N. agencies and humanitarian organizations working in Yemen and funded by the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
, the USAID and UKAID. It tracks and measures food insecurity in conflict-stricken regions.

The report underscores the dire situation in the poorest Arab nation that plunged into civil war for in 2014, when Yemen's Iran-backed Iran's Houthi sock puppets
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. "These harrowing figures confirm that we are on a countdown to catastrophe in Yemen and we are almost out of time to avoid it," said David Beasley, head of the World Food Program, appealing for immediate funding to "avert imminent disaster and save millions."

The IPC report says 19 million people in Yemen — out of a population of more than 30 million — are likely to unable to meet their minimum food needs between June and December, up from 17.4 million.

Also, 2.2 million children, including 538,000 already severely malnourished, and about 1.3 million women, could be acutely malnourished by the end of the year, the report said.

"More and more children are going to bed hungry in Yemen," said Catherine Russell, UNICEF's executive director. "This puts them at increased risk of physical and cognitive impairment, and even death."

China-Japan-Koreas
Panic Selling Grips Chinese Stocks in Biggest Plunge Since 2008
Post and story from a TW comment and link last evening.
(Bloomberg) -- Chinese stocks listed in Hong Kong had their worst day since the global financial crisis, as concerns over Beijing’s close relationship with Russia and renewed regulatory risks sparked panic selling.

The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index closed down 7.2% on Monday, the biggest drop since November 2008. The Hang Sang Tech Index tumbled 11% in its worst decline since the gauge was launched in July 2020, wiping out $2.1 trillion in value since a year-earlier peak.

The broad rout follows a report citing U.S. officials that Russia has asked China for military assistance for its war in Ukraine. Even as China denied the report, traders worry that Beijing’s potential overture toward Vladimir Putin could bring a global backlash against Chinese firms, even sanctions. Sentiment was also hurt by a Covid-induced lockdown in the southern city of Shenzhen, a key tech hub, and the northern province of Jilin.

That comes on top of a spate of regulatory worries. Tencent Holdings Ltd. is reportedly facing a possible record fine for violations of anti money-laundering rules, which pushed the stock down nearly 10% on Monday. There’s also a risk of Chinese firms delisting from the U.S., as the Securities and Exchange Commission identified some names as part of a crackdown on foreign firms that refuse to open their books to U.S. regulators.
This is indeed a significant development. The Russian stock market has crumbled. It is likely Chinese investors have a fear that their US 'box store' cash cow could be put on indefinite hold, not to mention US grain imports. Eating appears to have become a habit in China. Teaching moment to be found here somewhere.

#1  On Sunday, China ordered all of Shenzhen's 17.5 million residents into a seven-day lockdown, with three rounds of testing. All public transport is halted and all businesses, except essential services, will be closed until March 20.

As a result, Apple supplier Foxconn has shut two of its plants in the area and relocated p
roduction elsewhere.

The lockdown and outbreaks threaten manufacturing and tech production in Shenzhen, known as China's Silicon Valley. It's home to Huawei and Tencent, and is home to one of the country's key ports.

Wouldn't be surprised at a "Khrushchev moment" for Xi. People are always invincible until they aren't.

Mmm, it's not. Chicago Board Options Exchange's CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) has been wavering between 29 and 33 for the last week. As I type, it's just under 31. Average for the last 5 days is -1.76%.
