[BlabberBuzz] Russia’s Foreign Ministry announced that it was imposing "mirror" sanctions against 398 members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The move marks the latest in a string of reprisals from the Russian government in response to U.S. sanctions.
[ZeroHedge] Wind power is the most productive renewable energy source in the U.S., generating nearly half of America’s renewable energy.
Later in the article it is revealed that wind power provides nearly half of the renewable energy created in the U.S., that is to say 8.4% of the total. And Texas produces more wind energy than any other state, which is why they had that long power outage when it got so cold the wind turbines froze.
But, as Visual Capitalist's Niccolo Conte details below, wind doesn’t blow fairly across the nation, so which states are contributing the most to U.S. wind energy generation?
This map uses data from the EIA to show how much wind electricity different U.S. states generate, and breaks down wind’s share of total electricity generation in top wind power producing states.
[ZeroHedge] If you wanted to capture over 55% of the global population inside a circle with a 4,000km radius, which city would you place at its epicenter?
In 2013, a post appeared on Reddit marking a circular area of the globe with “more people living inside this circle than outside of it.” The circle had a radius of 4,000 km (just under 2,500 miles) and was named the Valeriepieris circle after author Ken Myers’ username.
As Visual Capitalist's Trixie Pacis details below, acknowledging that the Valeriepieris circle is not actually a circle (it was drawn on a two-dimensional map rather than a globe) and is based on data that has become outdated, mapmaker Alasdair Rae went digging and discovered what he calls The Yuxi Circle, the world’s most densely populated area.
INTRODUCING THE YUXI CIRCLE
Rae traced circles around 1,500 cities worldwide to find out how many people lived within a 4,000 km radius, just like the original Valeriepieris circle. He based his calculations on WorldPop data from 2020, based on a global population of 7.8 billion people.
Of the 1,500 circles that Rae made calculations for, 148 contained populations of 4 billion or more. He found many examples in Asia including in China, Myanmar (Mandalay), Laos (Vientiane), Bangladesh (Chattogram), India (Agartala), Bhutan (Thimpu), and Vietnam (Hanoi) to name a few.
But of them all, Yuxi, a city in the Yunnan province of China, has the largest population living within a 4,000 km radius: 4.32 billion.
Put another way? The circle encompasses over 55% of the world’s population, despite including desolate areas like the Taklamakan Desert, the Tibetan Plateau, Mongolia, and Southern Siberia.

Weren’t we just informed the other day that China has over-counted its population by something like 100 million souls? Although even that large number doesn’t appear significant compared to the totals here.
[ZeroHedge] As hours of coverage and an avalanche of op-eds are unleashed to explain to the masses why they should grab their pitchforks as Elon Musk offers to buy a social media platform at a significant premium for shareholders, this brief MSNBC clip from 2017 perfectly summarizes where the real panic lies.
I’m not sure he’s prepared to take on a couple PhDs, a few MBAs, and a Baroness who use Twitter once a year (to reset their passwords) and collectively own 77 shares of the company. pic.twitter.com/sJmKwHbzVh
Twitter is not making a decision to decline the generous offer by Elon Musk because of stewardship or fiduciary responsibility to shareholders. The financials of Twitter as a non-viable business model highlight the issue of money being irrelevant. Twitter does not and cannot make money. Growing Twitter only means growing an expense. Growing Twitter does not grow revenue enough to offset the increase in expense.
There is only one way for Twitter to exist as a viable entity, people are now starting to realize this.
What matters to the people behind Twitter, the people who are subsidizing the ability of Twitter to exist, is control over the global conversation.
Control of the conversation is priceless to the people who provide the backbone for Twitter.
Once people realize who is subsidizing Twitter, everything changes.
That’s the fight.

But maybe Musk's interests are aligned with the US government's?
[Red State] When last we left you in the saga of the Durham probe, the defense’s motion to dismiss the case against former Clinton lawyer Michael Sussmann had been denied. That means that barring a plea or further postponement, Sussmann will go to trial May 16 (as currently scheduled), on the charge of the false statement to the FBI. As I noted, that must be making the folks in Clinton-land sweat with what could be coming next.
Now, more information has come out in the latest filings in the case and if it wasn’t obvious already, these filings make it clear that this is going beyond Michael Sussmann. This is from the government’s response to multiple motions from the defense.
First, we know that the smear that was perpetrated against the Trump Organization about the supposed contact with the Alfa Bank — to make it look like Donald Trump was somehow communicating with the Russians — was not true. But the information in the most recent filings indicates that the CIA thought it may have been fabricated. The CIA concluded it was not "technically plausible" and was "user created and not machine/tool generated": A good 'cover for action' will employ verbal distancing as an initial firewall. This will provide the time necessary to collect incriminating documents for destruction, and the development of effective media distractions.

...but likely to bring about the desired removal of Donald Trump as planned.
Except that it didn’t, though he was hobbled somewhat by it. And then they still had to cheat six ways against Sunday to keep him from being reelected by a landslide. Really, tradecraft skills are not at all what they used to be at the echelons where this plot was executed. One hopes the junior agents at both agencies are watching carefully and taking note. (I won’t say learning from their horrible example, because that would be judgmental and unkind.)
[BBC] A huge queue of trucks has formed on the Poland-Belarus border as Russian and Belarussian drivers try to leave the EU following a sanctions deadline.
In the run-up to the Saturday deadline, the line extended to 80km (60 miles), with some stuck for up to 33 hours.
The EU has banned lorries from Russia and Belarus - except those carrying medicine, mail or petroleum products - from entering or staying in the bloc.
The move is part of sanctions over Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Drone footage filed by Reuters news agency showed long queues remaining as the midnight deadline neared.
"There are still many kilometres to drive... so it's unrealistic," it quoted a Belarusian driver on his chances of crossing the border in time.
And hours after the deadline passed, the waiting times had been shortened to 12 hours, says the BBC's Adam Easton in Warsaw, with the number of trucks at two border crossings between 230-400 vehicles.
However, it is unclear what will happen to thousands of other trucks from the two countries estimated to currently be on EU territory.
One possibility is that they will be seized by national authorities.
A Polish official representing transport groups expressed concern that such a move may lead to similar measures against Polish trucks using Russia and Belarus on their way back home.

BIPOC stands for Black, Indigenous, and people of color. Pronounced “bye-pock,” this is a term specific to the United States, intended to center the experiences of Black and Indigenous groups and demonstrate solidarity between communities of color.

[ZERO] The Ford F-150 Lightning pickup is officially coming to compete with Tesla.
We have been tracking interest in Ford's flagship electric pickup projects and have watched reservations and consumer interest pick up over the last year.
Now, it looks the pickup is finally ready to hit the road - and Elon Musk's Cybertruck, its most obvious competition, is still nowhere to be found.
Ford executives have said the new pickup is going to be worth the wait. Linda Zhang, chief engineer on the project, told Bloomberg: "We were dealing with a ton of skepticism internally. It couldn’t just be a battery on wheels. We wanted it to be a real American truck that does work."
This meant Ford had to create features that "hand't been invented yet," Zhang said. The truck's "frunk", for example, can hold 400 pounds of cargo and is comprised of 14 cubic feet of space.
In selling an electric pickup, Ford is beginning to convert its extremely popular F-Series, which sells about 900,000 trucks a year, to electric.

I bought an F-150 in 2004. Still have it. No problems, love it. So much so I bought a F-150 Raptor in 2018. I love it too but I wouldn’t buy another Raptor. It’s sucks for towing vs. other models. 5000 lbs towing or 8k with weight distribution hitch.
I can’t help but wonder how far you would get towing a 10k trailer with this electric truck. Hills and heavy loads eat up batteries like crazy. A normal drive from San Diego to say Dallas or Seattle could be done in 2 days (9-10 hour drive days). I bet it would take 2 weeks for this electric truck to do it with a trailer.
[IsraelTimes] Ynet report says 15-year-old girl’s dad, who told authorities she planned attack, used to live in Paleostinian village but moved to Israel after his identity was exposed
The father of a teenage girl arrested over a suspected terror stabbing in Haifa is a former Paleostinian informant for the Shin Bet security agency and Israel Defense Forces, according to a report Saturday.
The 15-year-old is suspected of stabbing a 47-year-old man on Friday, wounding him. Police, who said the suspect is a Haifa resident, have described the stabbing as a likely nationalist-motivated attack.
The man, also a local, was released Saturday from the northern city’s Rambam Medical Center. The hospital said he suffered several surface wounds that did not require surgery.
According to the Ynet news site, the suspect’s father previously assisted the IDF and Shin Bet but moved with his family from a village near the West Bank city of Tularkem to Haifa after his identity was exposed several years ago.
He also reportedly has a son and is raising his children alone following the death of his wife.
Shortly after the stabbing, police said the father had informed law enforcement that his daughter told him she intended to carry out an attack.
The news site reported that the girl admitted to Sherlocks that she wanted to stab Jews and quoted relatives saying she was incensed by images from festivities between Paleostinians and police on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City that morning.
The report said the father was briefly detained after the stabbing but later released.
[IsraelTimes] Israeli TV says Israel agreed to release those detained during Friday’s riots; no rockets were fired, but many Paleostinians remain detained
Egypt talked down the Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, terror group from potentially firing rockets at Israel following Friday’s violence at the Temple Mount, where hundreds of Paleostinians clashed with Israeli police, according to a Saturday report.
Channel 12 news reported, without citing a source, that indications from the Hamas-run Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... Strip were that the festivities at the al-Aqsa Mosque could have escalated into a full-blown conflict.
The network claimed that Hamas would have likely fired rockets at Israel over the violent mostly peacefulfestivities in which over 158 Paleostinians were hurt and 470 were arrested.
Egyptian intelligence officials then stepped in to try to deescalate the tensions, the report said.
Citing unspecified Arab media reports, Channel 12 said Israel agreed to Egyptian proposals to release those detained during the festivities in exchange for Hamas not escalating the situation.
No rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip following the festivities, and at least 130 rioters remained detained as of Saturday night.
[IsraelTimes] With no major incidents reported, defense minister and top military officials agree to not extend restrictions on Paleostinians at border crossings for remainder of Jewish festival.
[IsraelTimes] 7 maimed after rocks shatter windows of buses near Jerusalem’s Old City; 17 maimed, 9 narrested as police clear way for Jewish worshipers atop holy site
Israeli police entered the Temple Mount complex on Sunday morning as hundreds of Paleostinians allegedly sought to block Jewish visitors from visiting the holy site in Jerusalem’s Old City, just two days after significant festivities there.
According to police, hundreds of youths — many of them masked — were stockpiling rocks which they planned to use along with iron bars and makeshift barricades to riot and try to prevent non-Moslems from touring the compound.

[IsraelTimes] Security forces apprehend a 21-year-old Paleostinian attempting to scale Beit El’s fence with a knife, amid ongoing tensions between Israel and Paleostinians
Israeli security personnel thwarted an attempted terror attack in the West Bank settlement of Beit El on Saturday morning.
A lookout spotted the suspect, a 21-year-old Paleostinian man, attempting to climb over the settlement’s fence at around 11 a.m.
The settlement’s security detail and Israel Defense Forces troops responded to the scene.
A settlement guard arrived first while the suspect was still climbing the fence, fired his weapon in the air, and apprehended the suspect, who was carrying a knife.
The suspect was taken by the Shin Bet security service for questioning. He told Sherlocks that he had planned to carry out a terror attack in Beit El, Channel 13 reported.
The suspect came from the West Bank city of Silwad. Israeli forces have arrested suspected bandidossnuffies in the town in recent weeks, sparking fighting between troops and locals, in which several Paleostinians have been killed. Israeli security forces have been cracking down on suspected bandidossnuffies across the West Bank following a spate of deadly attacks in Israel.
Beit El is located north of Jerusalem, near Ramallah.
Paleostinians from nearby communities have attempted to attack Beit El multiple times in the past, including in 2019, when a 7-year-old boy was injured by gunfire.
The attempted attack comes amid high tensions between Israel and the Paleostinians.
In addition to the holiday friction, Israeli troops have been carrying out extensive raids in the West Bank following the deadliest outbreak of terror in Israel in years.
The series of attacks killed 14 people in Israel and at least 15 Paleostinians have died in festivities with Israeli forces in the West Bank.
The Israeli military lifted a closure on border crossings into Israel from the Paleostinian territories just after midnight between Saturday and Sunday. The closure was put in place for the start of Passover on Friday.

[Business Insider] Ukrainian intelligence officials claim to have intercepted a call in which a Russian soldier says Vladimir Putin's troops are shooting their own people in Moscow.
The Security Service of Ukraine released an audio clip of the call on Friday, in which a man's voice can be heard saying Putin's forces have been opening fire on a Russian town. The man, a soldier located in Ukraine's Donetsk region, was speaking to his wife on the phone, who's back home in Russia.
"These are our heroes," he told his wife.
"This is done in order to provoke ... Ukrainians," he said, according to Ukrainian intel.
The soldier said Russian forces bombed Klimovo, a Russian city straddling the border between Russia and Ukraine. Klimovo authorities, meanwhile, blamed Ukrainian soldiers for shelling the city, an accusation Kyiv has vehemently denied. The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine characterised the blame as "an attempt to ignite anti-Ukraine hysteria in Russia," according to Radio Free Europe, a US-funded media company.
[The Wrap] Evangelical Preacher Franklin Graham is getting roasted on social media for telling Fox News Viewers to "Pray for Putin."
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Graham told Maureen Mackey that he admires the Ukranian people and suggested that prayer might change Putin’s heart.

But I think we just need to pray that God can change his heart," Graham, who is president and CEO of the Billy Graham, Evangelistic Association said.

It never occurs to such people that Gawd creates good and Gawd creates evil. Shall there be trouble in a land and (He) has not done it? Why, I'm willing to even believe it is by His fiat Russia has attacked Ukraine! And I say this with total impartiality that I don't expect a professional godman to know what's what anymore.

^ Of course that may not be the case with Russia but a thinking man would consider. Gawd was always using Nebuchadnezzars and Cyruses to do what needed to be done. And He would command the Jews to stay out of stuff that needed to be done. Today, even in christian societies, to stop and consider anything is anathema. Every action must have an equally fcuked reaction, and quick! Before anybody realises we're doin' absolutely nothing!
When doing absolutely nothing maybe exactly what Gawd wants, and anything coming in the way... well it gets Nebuchadnezzared.

But Gawd. Gawd is a different ballpark. To him our ranks and files and armor and oh the mighty bomb bom bom bomb and our shrewd edifices of control, our institutions of nobility mean jack and shit. And not only that, He probably wants to smash our faces into it and have us admit it. I'm not some luddite kool aid connoisseur. I just... think for myself. In this age you can't let seemingly noble, soap scrubbed faces lead you anywhere. Not even to prayer.

[ET via ZERO] For some, it’s just a sniffle. But for others, COVID-19 can hit hard. Either way, some people who get COVID-19 will suffer from long-term effects. This is known as "long COVID," and its sufferers are often referred to as "long haulers." Chances are you already know about long COVID and you may even have been affected by it or have friends or family who are. What is less well known, however, is that neurological issues are common in long COVID.
Broken Brains
Brain inflammation, stroke, chronic headache, disturbed consciousness, cognitive impairment, and "brain fog" (an all-encompassing phrase to describe a condition that usually manifests as slow thinking, memory lapses, and difficulty concentrating) can all result after infection with the virus known as SARS-CoV-2.
Even the illness’s unusual hallmarks, hyposmia, and hypogeusia—better known to us non-scientists as loss of smell and taste—are thought to be due to changes in nervous system function.
But while both clinicians and patients have noticed a myriad of brain issues post infection, scientists don’t know very much about how SARS-CoV-2 infections can lead to impaired brain function.
That may be changing.
A study published on Feb. 3 in Alzheimer’s & Dementia sheds light on a potential physiological mechanism behind the neurological problems COVID-19 survivors experience.
While the deeper insight into what is going on is good news, unfortunately, there’s bad news, too.
The new study, "Alzheimer’s-Like Signaling in Brains of COVID-19 Patients," includes some disturbing findings.

[IsraelTimes] No confirmation of assertion in state media by senior Russian military official, in comments made the same day Moscow lashed out at Israel over its statements on Ukraine invasion
A Russian military official claimed Syrian air defenses intercepted a missile that Israeli fighter jets allegedly fired at a target near Damascus Thursday night.
Rear Admiral Oleg Zhuravlev, one of Russia’s top commanders in Syria, said two Israeli F-16s flying over the Golan Heights each fired a precision-guided missile, according to state news agency TASS.
He added that the Syrian military shot down one of the missiles using a Russian-made Buk-2ME system, while the other struck a warehouse, causing damage but no injuries.
There was no independent confirmation of Zhuravlev’s claim. Damascus and Moscow, which is fighting on behalf of Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad Trampler of Homs... in the country’s civil war, regularly assert that Syria intercepts Israeli missiles, though military analysts doubt such claims.
Zhuravlev’s comments were reported by TASS on the same day that the Russian Foreign Ministry lashed out at Foreign Minister Yair Lapid after Israel joined other countries in voting to suspend Russia from the UN Human Rights Council, though it was not clear if they were linked.
Russia has previously publicly expressed "deep concern" over the Israeli strikes, which have continued despite the Russian criticism and Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.
However, nothing needs reforming like other people's bad habits... Russia — which intervened militarily on Assad’s behalf in 2015 — has also pledged coordination with Israel in order to continue to prevent their forces from clashing in Syria.

[PJ] Naghdi concluded: "Human society is heading towards extinction. Nobody is willing to get married anymore. They live with dogs, crocodiles, and cats. Nobody is willing to give birth to children, raise them, and build a life. This lifestyle they created... In England, they presented a new cabinet member for loneliness affairs." Yes, human society is heading for self-destruction, unless there is a massive rejection of the Left’s worldview, and a renewal of traditional values. It’s already happening, and not just in the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps. History is full of surprises. The increasing resistance to the global Left could indicate that even the decline of the West is not irreversible.

[Breitbart] During an interview aired on Friday’s edition of Bloomberg’s "Wall Street Week," economist, Harvard Professor, Director of the National Economic Council under President Barack Obama, and Treasury Secretary under President Bill Clinton Larry Summers argued that "we’re actually closer to being back" to the inflation levels of the 1970s than most realize.
Summers stated, "Look, there’s been an effort, as there always is when you have inflation, to dismiss it as due to specific or temporary factors. That is much more wrong than right. You can see it when you take out all the extreme observations in both directions...you can see it, as I’ve emphasized, by looking at the wages, which are the ultimate source of costs in the economy. We’ve got a pretty fundamental inflation problem in our country. You know, David, I saw something recently that brought this home to me. People think of us as having had 13%, 14% inflation in the 1970s. But that’s only because of the way it was calculated then. If you use the same way we calculate inflation now, it got just above 10% in the 1970s. So, getting to 8.5%, we’re actually closer to being back there than I think most people realize."

Once he posted the video, it went viral on the social media. Penny threatened that Haryana will soon become part of Khalistan and will be merged with Punjab. He also said that in order to achieve this goal, Khalistan flags will be hoisted atop offices of the Deputy Commissioner of Gurgaon and Ambala on April 29.

[OneIndia] The security forces have fouled a major terror plot in Rajouri by recovering an Improvised Explosive Device (IED). The IED was recovered on the Rajouri Gurdan road, Jammu and Kashmir ...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there.... , the police said.
Sheema Nabi Qasba, senior superintendent of police, Rajouri said that the IED was taken to a safer location and destroyed.
ANI reported that the police recovered the IED after receiving credible input about some suspicious movement in the Gurdan Chawa village. The special operation groups of the police and teams of the Indian Army reached the spot and cordoned off the area early on Saturday.
A suspicious object was found lying alongside the road, which ruined out to be an IED. "Bomb Squad of police later took it in its possession for further destruction as per SOPs and through a controlled explosion which was then destroyed in a safer location," the SSP of Rajouri said according to ANI.
On Friday Death Eaters killed an independent sarpanch in Baramulla. Terrorists shot up Manzoor Ahmad Bangroo. He was rushed to hospital, but declared brought dead.
[Dawn] Pakistain on Saturday strongly condemned Indian occupation forces’ relentless killing spree resulting in death of four more Kashmiri youth during this week in a staged cordon and search operation in Shopian district of the India-held Jammu and Kashmir ...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. More than 576 innocent Kashmiris had been killed so far by the Indian occupation forces since India’s illegal and unilateral actions of Aug 5, 2019, the Foreign Office spokesperson said in a blurb.
The ongoing atrocities in the occupied valley have been intensified during the holy month of Ramazan and reflect India’s despicable policy of terrorising the population in a bid to perpetuate its systemic persecution of Kashmiris. The valiant Kashmiri youth are, however, resolutely committed to their just cause and no amount of brutalities can dampen their unbreakable resolve, it added.
The spokesperson said Pakistain reiterated its call for an investigation into extra-judicial killings in India-held Kashmir by the Commission of Inquiry as recommended by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in its Kashmir reports of 2018 and 2019.
[An Nahar] Russia has formally complained to the United States over its military aid to Ukraine, warning of "unpredictable consequences" if shipments of advanced weaponry go forward, U.S. media reported.
In a diplomatic note this week, Moscow warned the United States and NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A collection of multinational and multilingual and multicultural armed forces, all of differing capabilities, working toward a common goal by pulling in different directions... against sending the "most sensitive" weapons for Kyiv to use in the conflict with Russia, saying such shipments were "adding fuel" to the situation and could come with "unpredictable consequences," the Washington Post reported.
The warning came the same week that U.S. President Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. The nincompoop who dumped Afghanistan. The copier doesdn't exist that could reelect him.... pledged a new $800 million military aid package for Ukraine, including helicopters, howitzers and armored personnel carriers.
"What the Russians are telling us privately is precisely what we've been telling the world publicly -- that the massive amount of assistance that we've been providing our Ukrainian partners is proving extraordinarily effective," the Post quoted a senior administration official -- who spoke on condition of anonymity about the note -- as saying.
The State Department declined to comment on reports of the formal note.
"We won't confirm any private diplomatic correspondence," a State Department spokesperson said.
"What we can confirm is that, along with allies and partners, we are providing Ukraine with billions of dollars' worth of security assistance, which our Ukrainian partners are using to extraordinary effect to defend their country against Russia's unprovoked aggression and horrific acts of violence."
According to the New York Times
... which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... citing US officials, the note was sent through normal channels, and was not signed by any senior Russian officials.
The formal correspondence indicates Russia is concerned about the United States' ongoing material support for Ukraine, an anonymous US official told CNN ...the organization formerly known as the Cable News Network. Now who knows what it might stand for... .CNN also reported that one source familiar with the document said the complaint could mean Moscow is getting ready to adopt a more aggressive stance against the United States and NATO as the invasion of Ukraine continues.

"Yeah? Or what?! You'll make Hunter's videos public? He lives for this shit! They're doing it all in Disney World now! Fcuk you! I'm going to do what I want. Fcuk you, Shinzo Abe!"
Russia cares about the security of Russia. I wonder if the reason we have such a hard time believing the Rus mean what they say is because our leaders are such bullshitters and bloviators and no one actually means any of it.
Pity we could not have spent $800 million dollars on diplomacy to keep this mess from jumping off in the first place. But where is the graft in that?
Then they better remember MAD. All these threats gets fingers moving closer to the trigger. Putin gains nothing in an exchange of one time use weapons.

At least three residents of Imama Ugbawka in Nkanu East and Umuhu Eha-Amufu in the Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State have been killed by suspected herdsmen.
Enugu State is Igbo country, whom we know as the Biafrans.
According to reports, several other persons were maimed in the attacks which were carried out on Tuesday and Wednesday.
During the attack in Ugbawka on Tuesday, the herders allegedly invaded farmland and killed two labourers hired from Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, to cultivate crops on the farm, Eha-Amufu’s incident occurred on Wednesday at Agba-Esher.
A community leader in Umuhu, Eha-Amufu, Odo Francis, said the herders numbering about seven with AK-47s blocked Nkalagu-Eha-Amufu Road.
"Unfortunately, an Okada rider from Amade Eha-Amufu who was carrying two persons got to the point. They killed him and kidnapped the two men. Our people were alerted when a man from Umuhu Eha-Amufu identified as Okibe Odo, who escaped death by the whiskers broke the news.
"Now, our forest guards and neighbourhood watch (members) are on their trail. The body of the victim, Ifeanyi Odoebe, has been deposited in the morgue."
A community leader from Imama Ugbawka, Chima Nwodo, who confirmed the attack in his community, said the residents were alerted by one of the labourers who beat feet from the herders when they invaded the farm.
President-General of Imama Ugbawka Autonomous Community, Chief Osita Ogbu, described the attack on his community as callous and unprovoked.
"These herdsmen, according to one of the labourers that survived, were six in number. When he (the survivor) alerted our people, we sent our vigilantes to the farm who discovered the bodies of the victims and, subsequently, informed the police, Department of State Services, and the military. They came and saw the mutilated bodies. The victims’ throats were slit."
Special Adviser to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Information, who also oversees the Ministry of Information, Chief Steve Oruruo, confirmed the attack and called on security agencies to fish out the criminals.
[Rudaw] Fourteen people charged as accomplices to jihadists who carried out deadly bomb and gun attacks in Gay Paree in 2015 will go on trial in Belgium from Tuesday.
Proceedings will take place under high security in NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all.... 's former headquarters and are expected to last until May 20, with a verdict likely to take several more weeks.
They are happening in parallel with a trial in Gay Paree of 20 suspects charged in La Belle France, which opened in September and is expected to run until the end of June.
The November 2015 Gay Paree attacks saw 130 people killed, with the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... group claiming responsibility.
Assailants set off suicide belts outside the Stade de La Belle France stadium, as a group of button men in a car cut down people outside restaurants and bars. Three jihadists then killed 90 people attending a performance at the popular Bataclan music venue.
Part of the attack was planned in Belgium, according to prosecutors.
The 14 accused in the Belgian trial -- 13 men and one woman -- are suspected of transporting, housing or financially helping some of the perpetrators of the attacks.
Charges include driving an alleged attacker to the airport for a trip to Syria.
Some of the suspects are close to Salah Abdeslam, a 32-year-old French national who is the only surviving suspected assailant after failing to set off his bomb belt. Abdeslam is on trial in Gay Paree.
Prosecutors allege they had knowledge of the jihadist group's intentions, or helped Abdeslam -- who was living in the Brussels neighborhood of Molenbeek -- go to ground in the four months following the attacks that he was a runaway.
- TWO TRIED IN ABSENTIA -
One of the suspects is Abid Aberkane, Abdeslam's cousin who lived nearby him in Molenbeek. He is charged with hiding Abdeslam at his mother's house in the days before his March 2016 arrest.
Others are friends of the attacks' criminal mastermind, Abdelhamid Abaaoud, or of two brothers who were jacket wallahs during later attacks in Brussels on March 22, 2016 that killed 32 people.
Another is Ibrahim Abrini, brother of Mohammed Abrini, an alleged assailant who decided not blow himself up during the part of the 2016 attack in Brussels' airport.
Ibrahim Abrini is suspected of helping his brother get to Syria in June 2015, by buying him a phone.
Two of the 14 suspects charged will be tried in absentia. The two, both Belgians, are thought to have died in Syria.
They are Sammy Djedou, whose death was announced by the Pentagon in December 2016, and Youssef Bazarouj, linked to the Islamic State group's external operations cell and who is believed to have been killed in combat.
Djedou, born to an Ivorian father, went to fight in Syria in October 2012. He is the only one in the trial to be described by prosecutors as a leader of a "terrorist group".
Most of the suspects are charged with "participating in the activities of a terrorist group", which carries punishment of up to five years in prison.
Two are to be tried on linked charges: one for allegedly violating laws on guns and explosives, and the other -- the only woman on trial -- for allegedly providing false identity documents to the assailants in Gay Paree and Brussels.

[An Nahar] Supporters of Speaker Nabih Knobby Berri ...Speaker of the Lebanese parliament, head of the Amal Shiite party aligned with Hezbollah, a not very subtle sock puppet of the Medes and Persians... 's Amal Movement on Saturday intercepted supporters and members of a rival electoral list in the southern region of Sarafand.
An online video shows around 10 men beating up a young man as another video shows an Amal supporter opening fire from a handgun despite the presence of army troops.
The Amal supporters blocked a road leading to the al-Wadi Restaurant in Sarafand, where a rally to announce the program of the "Together For Change" electoral list was supposed to be held.
The list is backed by forces that took part in the October 17 uprising -- the Lebanese Communist Party, independents and members of the Tyre Protest Movement.
Supporters of the list lamented that security forces were late in arriving on the scene of the attacks.
Amal's press office meanwhile issued a statement denying any involvement for the Amal Movement in the incidents. It also said that it is up to security forces to address the matter.
The Lebanese Association for Democratic Elections (LADE) meanwhile warned that the incident represents a "serious threat to the safety of candidates, citizens and journalists and subjects the entire course of the electoral process to danger."

The Turks hate him, so he must be all right, despite the occasional brutal murder of Qatar-owned journalists. As crown prince, Moe has quietly jettisoned his country's policy of trying to impose its religion on the rest of the world... The judges are said to be loyal supporters of the 36-year-old prince, and the recent arrests bear striking similarities to previous purges of rivals of MBS.
Of the nine judges confirmed arrested, three came from the First-Degree Specialized (Terrorism) Court, three were from the Appellate Specialized Court, and the last three came from the High Court — the highest court in Saudi Arabia.
DAWN identified two of the judges as Abdullah bin Khalid al-Luhaidan and Abdulaziz bin Medawi al-Jaber.
Luhaidan convicted prominent women’s rights defender Loujain Alhathloul of baseless terrorism charges. Jaber sentenced a minor to the death penalty . He also sentenced many people to death in the mass execution of 81 men last month.
Saudi royals, billionaires, and senior government officials were tortured and blackmailed in early November 2017, when they were rounded up and detained at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in an extraordinary power play by MBS to remove people who could potentially pose a political threat.

Sweden's military is a joke. If I were NATO without a substantial increase in spending, I would say no.

This would be very expensive for Finland. Quite hazardous for them in this day and age.Knee jerk reactions will not provide the security they dream of.

From NATO's perspective, are we really willing to commit to sending our young men to die for Helsinki or Malmo? Really?
And also, the recent Ukraine invasion has done a lot to subvert the notion of a strong, victorious Russia.

[EN.ALGHADEERTV.NET] Fierce festivities have broken out between police and protesters in central Sweden’s Moslem-dominated area during demonstrations against a far-right group’s intention to burn the Holy Qur’an.
The festivities erupted on the sidelines of a rally in Orebro city by the anti-immigration and anti-MoslemStram Kurs (Hard Line) party led by Danish-Swedish politician and lawyer, Rasmus Paludan.
The far-right leader, accompanied by police, reportedly put a copy of the holy book on the floor and tried to burn it.
A quick search of the archives reveals this is practically an annual ritual for Stram Kurs.
The blasphemous act prompted counter-protesters, around 200 people by local media’s estimate, to break into the rally and clash with the members of the far-right party and Swedish police.
The counter-protesters urged police not to allow Paludan to commit the sacrilegious act but the pleas were conveniently ignored, sparking violent mostly peacefulfestivities and stone-pelting.
Police personnel tried to disperse them in defense of the hardline group, with local authorities saying the skirmishes left nine coppers injured. Two protesters were also taken into custody.
Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson came out in support of the far-right group,

making remarks that have been deemed provocative.
"In Sweden, people are allowed to express their opinions, whether they are in good or bad taste, that is part of our democracy. No matter what you think, you must never resort to violence. We will never accept it," he was quoted as saying.
Paludan has regularly been at the center of such incidents in recent years. In 2019, he wrapped the holy book in bacon and tossed it in the air.
[AlAhram] A migrant boat has capsized off the Libyan coast, leaving at least 35 people dead or presumed dead, the U.N. migration agency said Saturday. It was the second tragedy in less than a week involving migrants colonists departing from North Africa to seek a better life in Europe.
The shipwreck took place Friday off the western Libyan city of Sabratha, a major launching point for the mainly African migrants colonists making the dangerous voyage across the Mediterranean, said the International Organization for Migration.
The IOM said the bodies of six migrants colonists were pulled out while 29 others were missing and presumed dead. It was not immediately clear what caused the wooden boat to capsize.
Friday's tragedy was the second shipwreck off Libya in less than a week with a total of at least 53 Europe-headed migrants colonists dead or presumed dead, according to the IOM.
On Tuesday, a wooden boat carrying at least 20 migrants colonists capsized off the western town of Sorman. Two migrants colonists were rescued and at least 18 were pronounced dead with six bodies retrieved, the U.N. migration agency said.
``Dedicated search and rescue capacity and a safe disembarkation mechanism are urgently needed to prevent further deaths and suffering,'' the IOM said.

Earlier this month, more than 90 people in an overcrowded boat drowned in the Mediterranean Sea, days after they left Libya, according to the Doctors Without Borders aid group.
Moslem colonists Migrants regularly try to cross the Mediterranean from Libya in a desperate attempt to reach European shores. The country has emerged as the dominant transit point for migrants colonists fleeing war and poverty in Africa and the Middle East.
Human traffickers in recent years have benefited from the chaos in Libya, smuggling in migrants colonists across the oil-rich country's lengthy borders with six nations. The migrants colonists are then typically packed into ill-equipped rubber boats and set off on risky sea voyages.
At least 476 migrants colonists died along the Central Mediterranean route between Jan. 1 and April 11, according to the IOM.
Many of those who have been intercepted and returned to Libya, including women and kiddies, are held in government-run detention centers where they suffer from abuse, including torture, rape and extortion, according to rights groups.
Russia used high-precision strikes to destroy an armored-vehicle manufacturing plant in Kiev and a military repair depot in the city of Nikolaev in southern Ukraine, Defense Ministry front man Major General Igor Konashenkov said on Saturday.
He added that 16 targets were hit overnight, including Ukrainian military units, weapons and ammunition depots, and radar facilities.
Moscow warned that it would step up strikes on Kiev after accusing Ukraine of shelling Russian territory on Thursday. Kiev has denied launching attacks on Russian soil.
Russia confirmed on Thursday that the cruiser Moskva, the flagship of the country’s Black Sea Fleet sank after a fire and detonation of ammunition on board. Ukraine, however, claimed that it hit the Russian vessel with anti-ship missiles.

Local officials in Khost told TOLOnews that Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s were conducted by the Pak military in districts in the province but did not provide details.
According to eyewitnesses more than 40 people have been killed or maimed in the attacks.
"It was 3:00 am, when the bombing started. The homes were destroyed, around 40 people including women and kiddies were killed and maimed," said Peer Janat, a maimed person.
This comes as the department of Information and Culture of Kunar province ... which is right down the road from Chitral. Kunar is Haqqani country..... said that at least six people were killed in the artillery attacks carried out by Pak military on Shiltan district in Kunar province.
Residents of the Spiri district of Khost claim that Pak forces carried out airstrikes on Friday night in the province.
"At one residence, four people were killed, in another home nine people were killed and in another home 20 people. Seven people were killed and more than 20 others were maimed," said Rasul Jan, a witness.
The maimed which have been evacuated to hospital, spoke of the attack:
"There were aircraft and maneuvering. They targeted our home first," said Rangin Khan, a maimed person.
Analysts believe that the attacks indicate Pakistain’s direct interference and violation of Afghan national illusory sovereignty.
"The airstrikes and ground operations conducted by the Pakistain forces alongside the (Durand Line) in Khost and Kunar are an obvious violation and interference in Afghan airspace and territory," said Sadeq Shinwari, a political analyst.
The Pakistain ambassador Mansoor Ahmad Khan was summoned by the Afghan Foreign Ministry over Pak forces' attacks in Khost and Kunar, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in series of tweets. The Foreign Ministry said that in the meeting with the Pak envoy, the acting foreign minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, and deputy defense minister Mullah Shireen Akhund, condemned the attacks by Pak forces.
Khost residents gathered today to protest recent attacks carried out by the Pak military in Khost and Kunar provinces. The protestors were chanting anti-Pakistain slogans.
Former President Hamid Maybe I'll join the Taliban Karzai ...A product, and probably the sole product, of the Southern Alliance... on Twitter condemned the Pak forces' attacks in Kunar and Khost province ... across the border from Miranshah, within commuting distance of Haqqani hangouts such as Datta Khel and probably within sight of Mordor. Khost is populated by six different tribes of Pashtuns, the largest probably being the Khostwal, from which it takes its name... s in which dozens of civilians-- including children and women--were killed and maimed. Karzai called the attacks a violation of Afghanistan’s illusory sovereignty, a violation of intl norms and a crime against humanity.
Officials in the southeastern Khost province said that the Pakistani aircrafts bombed Aowa, Pesa Mila, and Mir Safar areas of the province on Friday night, April 15, 2022.
On the other hand, local residents have told the media that the airstrikes were conducted in the Spera district of Khost province where 33 members of two families have been killed.
The source added that the people belong to Waziristan but were living in Khost province.
Meanwhile, local residents of Shaltan district of the eastern Kunar province said that five children and a woman have so far been killed following bombings by Pakistan.
Pakistani media reported that the bombings have targeted TTP members in Khost and Kunar province but neither Pakistan’s government nor the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has commented on the bombings.
In the meantime, local residents in southwestern Nimroz province said that Pakistani forces have opened fire at Afghan drivers killing at least one.
The residents of Chaghai and Nawkundi of the province added that Pakistani forces have taken out batteries of 300 cars owned by Afghans and filled the tanks of the cars with soil.
The people added that Afghan drivers have staged demonstrations protesting against the Pakistani forces wherein the protestors were shot at, and eight drivers are believed to be wounded.
The Foreign Office on Saturday said it was "looking into" reports of alleged action by Pak forces in the eastern Afghan provinces of Kunar and Khost.
The FO's response was to claims made by an Afghan government official and a resident in Kunar province ... which is right down the road from Chitral. Kunar is Haqqani country..... that Pak forces fired rockets early today, leaving six people dead.
MNA Mohsin Dawar also raised the issue in today's National Assembly session, terming the reported incident as a "highly tragic one".
He claimed that the alleged victims were internally displaced persons from North Wazoo who had crossed into Afghanistan before the start of Zarb-e-Azab.
"Yesterday night, Pakistain Army and air force's planes carried out bombardments across the Afghan border and over 40 people were martyred in that," the MNA said.
On Friday, the Pakistain army said Lions of Islam ambushed a military convoy near the Pak-Afghan border in the general area of Isham, North Waziristan District, martyring seven Pak coppers.
"Own troops initiated a prompt response, effectively engaged and killed four terrorists. However, we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by... during an intense exchange of fire, seven soldiers embraced Shahadat," the ISPR had said.
Pakistain has long been saying that the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban ...Arabic for students... Pakistain has been using Afghan soil for attacks on Pak border posts.
Last month the TTP announced it would launch an offensive against Pakistani security forces from the first day of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
The TTP are pressuring the Pakistani authorities to allow militants to return to their hometowns with impunity after foreign fighters were told by the Afghan Taliban to leave Afghanistan.
I'm also told that heavy artillery shelling is still ongoing. Looks like Pakistani military is really going at it against TTP militant bases in Afghanistan.
[Breitbart] Border Patrol agents in Texas report an increase in the use of locked railcars to ship migrants into the U.S. interior. The practice is extremely dangerous as the migrants have no means of escape and temperatures can exceed well over 100 degrees.
Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Jason D. Owens reported that Eagle Pass Station agents received information regarding a group of migrants locked inside rail cars. The agents arrived and found 50 migrants inside after cutting locks on the cars.
A few days earlier, Owens tweeted a photo of a locked auto-track hauler. Agents received a 911 activation from one of the vehicles inside the rail car. Agents from the Eagle Pass North Station responded and unlocked the doors. Inside, they found eight migrants with no means of escape.
Breitbart Texas frequently reports on the use of trains by human smugglers. In March, Del Rio Sector agents found 40 migrants locked inside rail cars during a 48-hour period.
In one incident on February 28, Uvalde Station agents found a group of 25 migrants in a car hauler, Del Rio Sector officials reported. The migrants attempted to conceal themselves in the vehicles. Agents identified the migrants as citizens of El Salvador, Honduras, and Mexico. Officials noted the temperature at the time was 31 degrees.
In two other incidents, Uvalde Station agents found 12 more migrants in car haulers after K-9 teams alerted to their presence. The migrants were locked inside the rail car with no means of escape, officials stated.

Find an empty railroad siding, bring in some empty boxcars, set up a couple field surgical hospital tents and leave a big stack of empty coolers marked "Transplant Organs - RUSH." Photograph lavishly and drop pamphlets of the set all over Latin America.

The terrified teen called 911, asking the dispatcher if she can 'call her parents really fast,' but she remained on the line
As Ridge fled Avery recorded his truck which Middleborough police said led to his arrest
Ridge was apprehended shortly after and charged with aggravated breaking and entering during the day, trespassing and disorderly conduct

I recommend keeping a set of scary contact lenses handy for such a situation. A knife in hand and demon eyes... the only thing to worry about is the urine they'll leave across your floor as they run out.

For repeat offenders out on parole and/or on bail awaiting conviction. I could support Ankle GPS trackers for the duration of the parole or until the court hearing.
Plus, a law making the removal of an Ankle GPS tracker by anyone other than a court appointed official a felony.

It's already a felony to remove an ankle monitor.

The Daily Mail calls for the arrest of the children for possession of a dangerous weapon, and their parents for allowing minors easy access to such weapons. Leave it to Americans to think they need more than one kind of knife, and for turning children into unnatural murderers without any regard to the Senior community and their needs.
[FoxNews] Durham says he will seek immunity for a Fusion GPS employee during the trial of Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann.
Special Counsel John Durham asserted in a court filing Friday that the CIA concluded data from Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann alleging coordination between Donald Trump and Russia was "not technically plausible" and was "user created."
In the filing, Durham responded to objections from Sussmann’s defense regarding what evidence could be admissible at Sussmann's trial, which is scheduled to begin next month. Sussmann is accused of lying to the FBI by saying he was not attending a meeting on behalf of a particular client when he was actually presenting the information on behalf of the HIllary Clinton campaign and a technology executive with whom he worked.
Durham in February first revealed that the government would establish during trial that among the data "exploited" was domain name system (DNS) internet traffic pertaining to "a particular healthcare provider, Trump Tower, Donald Trump's Central Park West apartment building, and the Executive Office of the President of the United States (EOP)."
In February, Durham said data was exploited "by mining the EOP's DNS traffic and other data for the purpose of gathering derogatory information about Donald Trump," adding the data was used to establish "an inference" and "narrative" tying Trump to Russia.
But Sussmann is moving to preclude evidence concerning the "gathering" of that "DNS data" by "Tech Executive 1," who has been identified as Rodney Joffe, and his associates.
In Friday's filing, Durham argued that the gathering of the data is a "necessary factual backdrop to the charged conduct."
Durham's original indictment alleges Sussmann told then-FBI General Counsel James Baker in September 2016 — less than two months before the 2016 presidential election — he was not doing work "for any client" when he requested and held a meeting where he presented "purported data and 'white papers' that allegedly demonstrated a covert communications channel" between the Trump Organization and Alfa Bank, which has ties to the Kremlin.
The indictment alleges that Sussmann lied in the meeting, "falsely stating to the general counsel that he was not providing the allegations to the FBI on behalf of any client."
Sussmann has pleaded not guilty and has sought to dismiss the case. The federal judge presiding over the case denied that request this week.
Durham also alleges that Sussmann in February 2017 provided an "updated set of allegations," including the Alfa Bank claims, and additional allegations related to Trump to a second U.S. government agency, which Fox News has confirmed was the CIA.
In his filing Friday, Durham says the government expects to "adduce evidence at trial" that will reflect that the FBI and the CIA "concluded that the Russian Bank 1 allegations were untrue and unsupported.
"For example, while the FBI did not reach an ultimate conclusion regarding the data’s accuracy or whether it might have been in whole or in part genuine, spoofed, altered, or fabricated, Agency 2 concluded in early 2017 that the Russian Bank 1 data and Russian Phone Provider 1 data was not ‘technically plausible,’ did not ‘withstand technical scrutiny,’ ‘contained gaps,’ ‘conflicted with [itself],’ and was ‘user created and not machine/tool generated," Durham wrote.
However, Durham states that "the Special Counsel’s Office has not reached a definitive conclusion in this regard."
But Durham argued that "separate and apart from whether the data was actually unreliable or provided a motive" for Sussmann to lie, evidence concerning the steps the FBI and CIA took to "investigate these matters is critical to establishing materiality."
Durham said that information will "enable the jury to evaluate those steps, which, in turn, will inform their conclusions about whether the defendant’s alleged false statement was material and could tend to influence or impair government functions."

[NYPOST] Alleged subway shooter Frank James complained his career as a machinist was derailed by discrimination — but court records show he was a shoddy worker who refused to fix his own mistakes.
Untreated mental illness can be a distraction from perfectionism, and can make it hard to accept that outside observations are based on reality.
James, 62, worked as a machinist at Curtiss-Wright, a massive defense contractor, for 17 months, suing the company for racial discrimination in Newark Federal Court after he was fired in March 1991 for insubordination. So he was an incompetent racist crazy asshole over 30 years ago
He complained about getting poor mental health treatment in his youth, which may or may not be true, so yes.
His bosses at the time said James failed to fill out inspection sheets and made parts incorrectly, then blew off directives to fix the sloppy work, decades-old court papers reveal. The only machinist in the US in 40 years to turn in crappy parts. They finally caught the bastard! Well done!
He was disciplined eight times in his final 13 months with the company, including for excessive absenteeism, and was once suspended for three days for "failure to perform," according to accounts from Curtiss-Wright employees filed by the company in response to James’ 1991 lawsuit.
James told a supervisor at the Wayne location that he wouldn’t fill out the inspection sheets as directed "until the Union told him to do so," said his then-supervisor, James Powell, in court papers.
A year earlier, in 1990, then-shop foreman Kevin Noon found in James’ work area five parts that were defective "because of Mr. James’ own errors in machining."
"I told him that he should correct his mistakes before his shift ended and not leave this work for the next operator," Noon recalled in the legal filing. After James ignored him, Noon’s supervisor gave James a three-day suspension, since it was the second warning "for the same violation within the past three months."
James was one of five employees fired for insubordination from 1985 through 1991, then Curtiss-Wright Human Resources exec Joseph Sangregorio said in court records, noting that the other canned workers were white or Asian and race did not factor into the decisions.
After being fired, James was arrested for repeatedly calling Curtiss-Wright to make "terroristic threats," local prosecutors told The Post. In 1995, he was found guilty of harassment.
Sangregorio didn’t recall the details of the case when reached by The Post, but said, "It’s unfortunate that Frank James did what he did, it disturbs me."
[FoxNews] Defense to equalize outcomes for employees, partners across racial, sexual and gender lines.
It doesn’t how many pushups you actually do; everyone who does (or does not) show up will be credited with 200 in the proper military style. If you choose to do one arm pushups instead, or more than 200, or clap at the top of the rise, you will be penalized fifty because you selfishly tried to demonstrate superior ability in this area.

How about doing away with 'resigned for the good of the service' and instead just courts martial them like you'd do the lower enlisted? /rhet question

The intensification of the offensive of Russian troops in the Donbas, according to the official, is expected in the near future.
20:33 The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated that the entire urban area of Mariupol was cleared of Ukrainian troops, "the remnants of the group are blocked at Azovstal."

20:20 According to the State Border Service, from April 2 to April 15, about 400,000 people entered Ukraine from the western side, more than 500,000 people left. The border guards note that the increase in the flow is due to the return to Ukraine for the Easter holidays of those who work or study abroad. Evacuated Ukrainians also return to visit relatives or their homes.
20:09 Zelensky said that Abramovich is not a neutral participant in the negotiations between Kiev and Moscow, but represents Russia: “I don’t think that anyone on the Russian side has a neutral position. I think that their diplomats and businessmen are defending the Russian side only their own interests. Our interests cannot coincide."
At the same time, the president considers Abramovich's participation useful because it can balance the position of Moscow, whose delegation is dominated by supporters of the "destruction of the Ukrainian people." In addition, the oligarch represents the economic bloc in the delegation, consisting of the military and diplomats.
19:58 The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine assumes that the enemy will continue assault operations along the entire line of confrontation in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, concentrating efforts on capturing Popasna, Rubizhne, Mariupol, as well as at the exit to the Ugledar and Marinka regions. It will also prepare for an offensive on the Kurakhovsky and Avdeevsky directions.
At the same time, there is a decrease in the level of the moral and psychological state of the units of the 1st Army Corps operating in the Donetsk direction. This is due to the heavy losses of units, the replenishment of which occurred at the expense of the mobilized.
19:52 According to the General Staff, the main efforts of the invaders in the Izyum direction are focused on holding occupied lines and positions in the area of the settlements of Dry Kamenka, Suligovka, Brazhkovka, Malaya Kamyshevakha and Andreevka. To strengthen the grouping, units from the 106th Airborne Division were moved from the territory of Russia. After the creation of the strike force and the formation of reserves, the enemy will try to resume the offensive in the direction of Barvenkovo and Slavyansk.
19:47 Due to the war in Ukraine, the Russian Federation has postponed the rotation of units of the 68th Combined Arms Army of the Eastern Military District in Syria, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

According to her information, ballot papers for the "referendum" are being printed in the printing house of Nova Kakhovka. Obviously, all protocols on the results of the "voting" will be prepared in advance and brought to the regional center.
18:47 According to the official data of the Ministry of Health, as of April 16, as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, 341 children were treated in healthcare institutions. Of these, 174 continue treatment, 150 have been discharged, five have died. 93% of hospitalized children received mine-explosive or gunshot wounds. 12 children lost limbs.
18:40 Zelensky said that Ukraine does not receive enough weapons from Western partners, although recently the rhetoric of some countries on the supply of weapons has "warmed up". According to him, deliveries take 2-3 weeks from the moment when a decision to provide weapons to Kiev is announced in some country.
18:37 Zelensky again said that Ukraine is ready to exchange Medvedchuk - "for the Ukrainian military or what Russia can offer." “It seems to me that we publicly and not very publicly transmitted these signals. If they are interested, they will respond,” the president said.
18:19 The Russians fired at Kharkiv today with a Caliber cruise missile. According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, as a result of the shelling of the Sloboda and Osnovyansky districts, two civilians were killed and 18 more were injured. Damaged and destroyed houses, cars, market and shops.

17:36 Zelensky believes that a peace treaty with the Russian Federation could consist of two separate documents - one on security guarantees for Ukraine, the second on relations with Moscow. According to him, the United Kingdom, the United States, Italy and Turkey demonstrate their readiness to become security guarantors, but there is still no final answer from anyone.
The "first circle of conversation" is planned in the format for five - Britain, the USA, Germany, France and Poland. Then other countries will join. “So far, I have not received confirmation from others. But there are complex questions about what we want and what we are ready to provide,” the president explained.
He also expressed his conviction that Ukraine would not have problems with weapons or sanctions against Russia from guarantors in the event of a new attack by the Russian Federation, but there would be issues with a "military component."
17:27 More than 10,000 rescue volunteers have already registered on the website of the State Emergency Service to help rebuild the country. Volunteers are now working in the Kiev region, in particular, in places where the territories have been cleared of mines. Basically, this is search work, cleaning the streets from building materials, and removing rubble.
17:23 Russia has sent a note to the Czech Republic warning that Prague cannot supply Soviet-made weapons to third countries without its consent, České noviny reports.
In response, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky said: “The Foreign Ministry has not responded and will not respond to this note, given that it is factual nonsense and that there is no military equipment re-export clause. This is another way for Russia to use lies to demand from us stop supporting Ukraine."
17:18 Zelensky said that the destruction of Ukrainian defenders in Mariupol would put an end to negotiations with Russia.
"Mariupol - it can be like ten Borodyanka, and I want to say that the destruction of our military, our guys will put an end to all negotiations. A dead end - because we do not trade territories and our people. And the more Borodyanka there are, the more difficult it will be," the president explained.
17:16 Zelensky spoke about Mariupol: "The situation is very difficult. Our military is blocked, the wounded are blocked. There is a humanitarian crisis, there is no food, no water, no medicines. Nevertheless, the guys are defending themselves. And gratitude alone is not enough, so negotiations continue. Trust to the negotiators on Mariupol, to be honest, no."
According to the president, Russia has refused to open humanitarian corridors even for women and children. He also assured that the authorities "are in touch with the guys at the blocked plant," the conversations are "at different levels." Zelensky stressed that the Azov people are already heroes, and "no one would forbid them to take certain steps."
"What can save Mariupol? This is powerful weapons that must be provided as soon as possible. The second is a matter of negotiations," the head of state said. He noted that the ceasefire is very necessary to take away the wounded, but Russia instead offers to surrender. Zelensky did not rule out that there could be Ilovaisk in Mariupol.
16:55 In Lisichansk, the Russians fired on eight grain vans, Gaidai said. According to him, they shot there deliberately, with powerful weapons, there was a gunner. Three vans caught fire, but they were saved and the others were kept safe.

According to him, only one person was taken out. More than 70 people were evacuated from other cities of the Luhansk region, including 42 from Severodonetsk.
16:40 UAH 200 billion of Russian and Belarusian companies were found in Ukrainian banks, First Deputy Interior Minister Yevgeny Yenin said. According to him, if banks heed the recommendations of the National Police and the National Bank, this money will not be allowed to be paid on the territory of Russia, but will be used to strengthen the combat capability of Ukraine.
16:37 Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda urged Finland and Sweden not to delay in applying for NATO membership.
16:32 Podolyak said that the European Union does not give Ukraine the weapons that Kiev asks for, moreover, these weapons travel too long. "This game can be played for a long time, but it is definitely not democracy that benefits from it. Ukraine needs weapons. Not in a month. Now," he wrote.
16:29 Washington does not exclude that Russia may soon launch a new offensive, since Ukraine has practically used up its stock of artillery shells, NBC reports, citing US officials.
Last week, the White House announced the shipment of 40,000 artillery shells and 18 155mm howitzers to Ukraine. But given that the Ukrainian military uses thousands of shells a day, those 40,000 are only enough for a week, the unnamed official explained.
According to the US, the Russian Federation may begin to transfer part of its forces back to Ukraine as early as this weekend or early next week.
16:26 As a result of shelling by Russian troops of Akhtyrka, Sumy region, almost all the houses in the city turned out to be uninhabitable, Mayor Pavel Kuzmenko said. 16:17 The monitoring group of the Belarusian Gayun project received evidence of the use of Tochka-U tactical missile systems by the Russian Armed Forces, which allegedly are not in service with the Russian army.

One of them brought three Tochka-U fuel dispensers to Belarus. The information is confirmed by a video showing Tochki-U leaving the military airfield in Machulishchi that day.

15:58 Asian countries are refusing Russian coal. The only market that the Russian Federation can still conditionally rely on is India. But here, too, demand will depend on the price and discount that Russia is ready to provide, writes Reuters.
15:51 According to Ukrainian intelligence, Eduard Basurin, "deputy commander" of the "DPR Ministry of Defense" corps, after talking with FSB officers, was taken to an unknown direction. The massacre against him is associated with a careless statement that revealed Russia's plans to use chemical weapons against the Ukrainian defenders of Mariupol.
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense writes that repressions continue against the commanders of the Russian army, who "did not justify the high confidence" of the leadership of the Russian Federation and in fact failed tasks in Ukraine.
Another example - from April 24 to March 2, a commission from the Russian Federation worked in the occupied Gorlovka, which was supposed to identify the reasons for the shortage of the 3rd separate motorized rifle brigade of the occupying troops. According to the reports of the commanders, the 3rd Motorized Rifle Brigade was 100% manned before the start of the war, and after the outbreak of hostilities, it turned out that the actual presence of military personnel amounted to about 55% of the staff list.
After establishing the facts of discrepancies, two battalion commanders were taken under arrest and taken away in an unknown direction by civilians (probably FSB officers). Their further fate is unknown.
15:34 Ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova reports that the "authorities" of the "LDNR" are mobilizing children from the age of 16 who participated in the so-called "patriotic clubs". Among the teenagers there are already dead.
According to human rights activists, propaganda and military exercises among children have been held in ORDLO for more than a year. Since 2017, the self-proclaimed republics have been training "graduates" who are ready to take up arms.
15:30 From Sunday, April 17, Italy stops letting Russian ships into its ports. According to the Italian press, the ban will also apply to ships that have changed flags after 24 February.
15:07 In Lviv, more than 30 streets named after Russian figures are planned to be renamed by the City Day, which is celebrated on May 7, Mayor Andriy Sadovy said. He said that a special commission had already been created for this, since it is necessary to rename wisely, "not so that in 5-10 years something will change again, but so that it will be for the next 100 years."
14:59 The mayor of Lozovoy Kharkiv region asks local residents to urgently evacuate. Recently, rocket and air strikes have been carried out on the city.
14:45 Russian troops will intensify hostilities and try to resume the offensive in order to reach the administrative borders of the Kherson region, OK Pivden is convinced. There is also the threat of cruise missile strikes from Russian warships stationed in the Black Sea.
14:42 The Georgian parliamentary delegation arrived in Ukraine, the head of the delegation, speaker Shalva Papuashvili said on Twitter.
14:40 The head of the coordinating press center of the security and defense forces of southern Ukraine, Natalya Gumenyuk, confirmed that there was a storm on the day the cruiser Moskva sank. According to her, due to weather conditions, the Russian navy was unable to carry out the evacuation, as a result, almost all crew members died.
"We watched how other ships tried to help, but even the forces of nature were on the side of Ukraine, because the storm did not allow a calm rescue operation, to evacuate the crew," she said.
14:35 The Russians once again fired at the Lisichansk oil refinery, said the head of the Lugansk OVA, Sergei Gaidai. The strike was inflicted in the morning, firefighters are still extinguishing a fire on an area of 5000 square meters. There was no fuel at the plant, the Russians are shelling it in order to deplete the State Emergency Service. Burning oil sludge.

It is also reported that the stele at the entrance to Energodar has been repainted in the colors of the Russian flag.
14:20 According to the UN satellite center Unosat, more than a thousand buildings were damaged in Irpen: 115 were completely destroyed, 698 were significantly damaged, 187 were partially damaged. This is 71 percent of the city.

13:59 The occupying "authorities" of Kherson are trying to convince local residents that Russia's crimes in Ukraine are committed for the benefit of the people, and "the armed forces of the Russian Federation are not at war with the Ukrainian people." And the war itself is called "an operation to eliminate the anti-people Kiev regime."
Leaflets of the corresponding content are distributed in Kherson by the occupiers, according to Ukrainian intelligence. It is also alleged that "the Russian army does not fight Ukrainian soldiers and does not fire at civilians."

Andryushchenko suggests that the Russians want to keep only women and men in the city to serve certain needs. According to him, the filtration procedure has already gained maximum momentum.

99 generals on the wall, 99 generals.
One shot himself to avoid capture,
he dreaded Nazis more than the boss.
98 generals on the wall, 98 generals.
One eloped with a blonde to Poland,
and dressed his aide's corpse as himself.
97 generals on the wall, 97 generals.
One was smoking on a no-smoking ship,
and it went down with him, a smoking ship!
96 generals...
[NYPOST] Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. I'm not working for you. Don't be such a horse's ass. Don't say he didn't warn us... is falling down on his promise to bring normality back to the presidency for a basic reason — he’s not normal.
Biden’s long pedigree, conventional politics and contrast with Donald Trump ...His ancestors didn't own any slaves... suggested that he’d bring predictability and calm to the highest reaches of the nation’s politics.
The press touted this impending shift. A headline in The Financial Times announced, "Biden signals return to normality on first day as president." The CNN ...the organization formerly known as the Cable News Network. Now who knows what it might stand for... political analyst Chris Cillizza opined, "The single most radical thing that Biden has done in his first 48 hours of being president is act totally and completely normally."
Yeah, well, a funny thing happened on the way to renewed normality — President Joe Biden ...... 46th president of the U.S. We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women created ... by the — you know — you know, the thing...... has engaged in one bizarre escapade after another as he’s crashed his presidency into the rocks of incompetence, tone-deafness and stubbornly misplaced priorities.
It’s not normal for a president to say things flagrantly at odds with his own administration’s position, but there was Joe Biden the other day saying that Vladimir Putin ...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances... is committing genocide in Ukraine.
This statement fared about as well as his declaration that Putin has to be removed from power, or the distinction he made between a Russian invasion and "minor incursion" at a presser prior to the war.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin.
[ColonelCassad] 1. Mariupol.
Plant them. Ilyich is released. In addition to prisoners, trophies were taken. The plant was seriously damaged during the fighting, but it could well be restored. Fighting continues in the Azovmash area. Most of the Primorsky region has been liberated, but resistance still continues there.
The enemy concentrated the remaining forces on the defense of Azovstal, holding the very territory of Azovstal, as well as the houses of the Levoberezhny district adjacent to it, where forces are now concentrated to storm the plant. Azovstal is heavily bombed. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have not had the opportunity to release the remnants of the Mariupol group for a long time, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine refused these plans back in mid-March for military reasons.
2. Zaporozhye.
The front line Kamenskoye-Orekhov-Gulyaipole remains unchanged. Intensive hostilities are not conducted here, although the parties are actively using artillery and MLRS. The Russian Federation is actively engaged in the establishment of railway communication, which will facilitate the supply of the group in this direction.
To the east of Gulyaipole, there are sluggish battles for individual villages. Serious progress has not yet been noted. Ukrainian flags are being actively removed in the region and the work of new authorities is being established to the best of their ability.
3. Nikolaev.
The sides are not yet conducting active offensive operations, being mainly engaged in the exchange of strikes (artillery and MLRS). Attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to advance towards Kherson led to heavy losses, and here, for the time being, tendencies towards positionalism triumph.
The RF Armed Forces are methodically working on targets in Nikolaev itself, inflicting heavy damage on the enemy. Also, strikes were made in the direction of Krivoy Rog and Nikopol to stop the enemy's activity. The Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to advance in the Novorontsovka area, traditionally fired at Chernobaevka from the MLRS and OTRK. The grouping of forces on both sides has grown here in recent weeks. It is impossible to exclude the activation of this direction in the coming weeks.
4. Odessa.
No major changes. Landing operations or "breakthroughs" from Transnistria are not expected. Part of the forces of the Odessa Volkssturm and one of the brigades were transferred to the Nikolaev direction. The use of NATO-supported anti-ship missiles will make it more difficult for the Black Sea Fleet to carry out missions in the northwestern part of the Black Sea, but it is unlikely to affect the intensity of missile launches against targets in Ukraine.
5. LPR.
In Popasnaya, the troops are moving forward, controlling part of the city center, the enemy is stubbornly defending. The pace of progress is generally low. Heavy fighting continues in the southern part of Rubizhne.
6. Severodonetsk .
There is no big progress in these settlements yet.
7. Avdievka.
There are no changes in Avdievka itself. Ordinary positional battles in the prom. To the north of Avdievka, fighting took place in the area of Novobakhmutovka, Novoselka-2, and Troitsky.
8. Slavic-Kramatorsk agglomeration.
The enemy is preparing for a long-term defense, being subjected to systematic missile, air and artillery strikes. The emphasis is on the tough defense of cities with the support of the reserve concentrated in the area of Artemovsk, Soledar and Krasnoarmeysk.
9. Kharkov.
No big changes. Battles - to the north and east of the city. Settlements north of Kharkov, as well as the northern outskirts of Kharkov, are gradually turning into an analogue of Mariupol. The enemy is accumulating forces near Kharkov in order to interfere with possible operations of the RF Armed Forces to encircle the city. Chuguev's garrison is also reinforced.
10. Izyum.
The offensive of the RF Armed Forces continues in the direction of Slavyansk and Barvenkovo. The enemy throws here the main reserves, which are gradually crushed here in fierce battles. As before, the RF Armed Forces have three routes here - to Slavyansk, to Barvenkovo and to Pavlograd through Lozovoye. The expected big offensive will show exactly where they are going to reach the Donetsk-Pavlograd highway.
In general, we can talk about the continuation of the operational pause in anticipation of the start of a large-scale offensive by the RF Armed Forces in the Donbass.
Near Ilovaisk, according to Ukrainian data, the losses amounted to up to 1000 people killed + wounded + prisoners. And this was considered the biggest defeat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine since 2014.
In Mariupol, according to Ukrainian data, up to 14,500 people were surrounded.
Of these, 3-3,500 are still defending. All the rest are killed, wounded, captured, missing, deserted or leaked in small groups to the Zaporozhye region.
Even now, the scale of the defeat of the Mariupol grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is several times greater than the scale of the defeat near Ilovaisk.
But no one officially recognizes this, since this would mean that even under Poroshenko, the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not suffer such a defeat as under Zelensky.

[FoxNews] ICE has claimed it was justified in using a no-bid contract due to the urgency of the situation
The Department of Homeland Security’s internal watchdog found that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) spent $17 million of a no-bid contract to house migrants in hotels that went largely unused between April and June last year and that a contractor failed to meet ICE standards.
The DHS Office of Inspector General reviewed ICE’s plans for migrant families crossing the southern border as the numbers surged early last year and how the contract was awarded.
ICE entered into an $86.9 million "sole source" contract with a company called Endeavors, rather than through a competitive bidding process. For six months, Endeavors would provide 1,239 beds and other services to migrants after ICE recognized its current family residential centers would be insufficient to house the number of migrants crossing the border.
Endeavors, a San Antonio-based nonprofit, separately entered into a no-bid contract with the Department of Health and Human Services for more than $500 million. The contracts were controversial because Andrew Lorenzen-Strait, a former Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) official who also served as a Biden transition advisor on Homeland Security issues is on the company’s board.
The ICE contract used six hotels to help migrants with stays of up to three days, while they were enrolled in Alternatives to Detention (ATD). But the watchdog found that ICE was not justified in using a no-bid contract, which it awarded after receiving an unsolicited proposal from Endeavors, and that much of the space was unused as the contract required ICE pay for up to 1,239 beds no matter how many were used.
"ICE did not adequately justify the need for the sole source contract to house migrant families and spent approximately $17 million for hotel space and services at six hotels that went largely unused between April and June 2021," the report says.
It says that usage ranged from an average of 21% in one hotel to 45% in another.
"ICE’s sole source contract with Endeavors resulted in millions of dollars being spent on unused hotel space," the report says.
The report was also critical of Endeavors, saying that it did not meet new health care protocols, specifically ensuring that proper COVID-19 testing was used before transport to hotels, "putting migrant families and the outside population at risk of contracting COVID-19.
"Further, Endeavors did not follow required ICE standards to ensure the proper care for housing migrant families while such families were residing in its facilities," the report adds. Those standards include providing self-service snacks, staff storage of important documents like passports and video camera to record use-of-force incidents.
In a statement to Fox News Digital, Endeavors said it "has been providing essential humanitarian services to migrants since 2012 and has worked with vulnerable communities for more than 50 years — including veterans, the homeless and those recovering from disasters.
[FrontPage] Mayor Eric Adams, who had called white people “crackers”, claimed that he needed his brother to head his security because of an "increase in white supremacy" in New York City.
The New York City Board of Health falsely claimed that racism was a "public health crisis" and a public school told parents to abolish their “whiteness”.
After all that time battling white supremacy, which is as easy to find in the city as good manners and parking spaces, the black supremacist subway terror attack came out of the blue.
29 people were wounded, including a pregnant woman and a 12-year-old, when Frank James, a racist gunman, opened fire on a Brooklyn subway train. James was a racial supremacist, but not the one that New York City’s political establishment had spent so much time searching for.
James was just “abolishing whiteness” by putting critical race theory into practice.
The black supremacist mass shooter has been charged with terrorism for a carefully planned terror attack, that included dressing up as a construction worker, deploying a smoke bomb and then opening fire. The racist terrorist’s victims included a pregnant woman, and a number of children and teenagers, some of whom were shot several times by the black supremacist.
Like the black supremacist Jersey City terrorists, James used a U-Haul as a base and was convinced that black people were being victimized.
“These white motherf—--s, this is what they do,” James had ranted in his YouTube videos while claiming that white people were plotting to kill all black people. “It’s just a matter of time before these white motherf—--s decide, ‘Hey listen. Enough is enough. These n—ers got to go.'” Read the rest at the link

The inhabited Assyrian village of Tel Tawil, west of the town of Tel Tamr, was hit with heavy weapons by the Ottoman Turkish forces, a source in the Tel Tamr Military Council told North Press.
No information about casualties or material damage has been reported so far.
The same village was bombed earlier today and it was also hit with a barrage of artillery shells yesterday evening, Friday, which resulted in the destruction of a number of houses and extensive damage to the village school.
It should be said that since The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor... and the opposition forces loyal to it invaded the areas of Sere Kaniye and Tel Abyad in 2019, the town of Tel Tamr and its villages have been subjected to continuous bombardment, which resulted in casualties as well as damage to civilians’ property.
[NYPOST] Russia continued to pound Kyiv with shelling Saturday — making good on Moscow’s pledge to renew its bombardment of Ukraine’s capital city.
The scattered attacks occurred after a Russian strike hit a missile plant in Kyiv on Friday and as the Kremlin vowed to again start bombing what it called "military sites" in the city and surrounding areas, after retreating amid heavy losses earlier in the war.
Smoke was seen rising from the city’s southeastern Darnytski district, but it wasn’t immediately clear what was hit. The sprawling district contains apartment buildings and big-box retail outlets, along with industrial sites and railyards. Russia’s Defense Ministry said it targeted an armored-vehicle plant there.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko warned residents who fled the city when it was under heavier attack earlier in the war not to return.
[NYPOST] Russian forces withdrawing from the Kyiv region left behind the bodies of more than 900 slaughtered Ukraine civilians, local authorities said Friday. The vast majority of the victims in the area surrounding the capital were "simply executed" by gunfire, police said. The grim body count continued to mount as corpses were uncovered under rubble and in mass graves.
Andriy Nebytov, the head of the capital’s regional police force, estimated that 95 percent of bodies left stranded in the region had been shot, and citizens who had expressed strong pro-Ukrainian views had been hunted down and murdered.
Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky accused occupying troops in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions of doing the same.
"The occupiers think this will make it easier for them to control this territory. But they are very wrong. They are fooling themselves," Zelensky said. "Russia’s problem is that it is not accepted — and never will be accepted — by the entire Ukrainian people. Russia has lost Ukraine forever."

Burroughs said, "nobody likes a drunk with a gun." He would know (look it up) A chemically motivated zealot with a weapon, mind your 6. It's notable our troops were ingenious at improvising the manufacture of alcohol beverages and also liberating the local product everywhere they went in WW II.

I feel confident American troops at that time and place were absolutely typical of men at war throughout history. ;-)

/\ #6 & 6: A friend's father was a Tanker in WW2 and remarked that in the march across France they discovered that wine bottles fit nicely in the "ready round storage" in a Sherman tank... Something to think about when playing a WW2 armor wargame, eh?
Russia's Uralvogonzavod shuts down production. It will no longer be able to assemble any of T-72 tank (main RU tank) or newer T-90 & T-14 tanks (Armata). Reason: lack of imported components. It means more saved UA lives, is direct result of Western sanctions which should continue

This made me wonder how the US arms industry is affected by supply line problems, if any.

So the status quo ante in tanks is achieved once again: Russia’s factory shuts down production, Russian destroys Ukraine’s factory altogether.
An Army trooper was killed in an ongoing shootout between snuffies amd security forces at Watnar Kokernag area of south Kashmir ...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. ’s Anantnag district on Saturday, reports said.
Quoting a police brass hat, news agency GNS reported that the soldier of 19RR was received serious bullet wound in the initial exchange of fire.
He was immediately shifted to nearby hospital for treatment, however he departed this vale of tears, the officer added.
A fierce shootout is underway after police and army on a specific input generated by J&K Police launched a cordon and search operation in the area following a tip off about the presence of snuffies there.

Hours after losing contact, the six members were found dead with several gunshot wounds on the outskirts of al-Shola, according to the source.
Shepherds, who were close to the incident, confirmed that the government forces’ members were killed in a clash with members of ISIS on cycle of violences and were raising the flag of the organization. After the attack, they took the weapons and fled towards the depths of the desert, the source added.
The Syrian Badia region constitutes a source of concern for the pro-Iranian militias and the government forces, as it witnesses intensive operations of ISIS cells.
