VDH: How America Became La La Land
[PJMedia] America these last 14 months resembles a dystopia. It is becoming partly the world of George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four, and partly the poet Homer’s land of the Lotus-Eaters.

Nothing seems to be working. And no one in control seems to care.

The once secure border of 2020 vanished. Two-million people have crossed the southern border illegally in the last 12 months. Millions more are on the way.

#1  That's only a small part of the common denominator. The rest is this entire escapade is and has been intentional. They aren't incompetent, they are enemies.

Because how else would an enemy behave? Subvert and destroy trust in virtually every institution? Emasculate, sometimes literally the young men? Ruin the economy? Collapse oil and gas production? All while pouring billions of of non-audited, yea impossible to audit dollars into the Ukraine. Let's not forget the tax increases and their 21% pay raise.

Hubert Humphrey and Tip O'Neil aren't even vague memories, these people are the new commissariat. How many ways and times do they have to tell us what their plans are?

Tragic Kingdom at Pedo Park– Disney Has Lost $50 Billion So Far…
[WashingtonExaminer] Disney’s stock has lost nearly $50 billion in value since the start of March, when it took a political gamble to oppose Florida’s controversial new education law.

Disney’s stock was down more than 2% on Friday and by more than 8.5% over the past few days as Florida lawmakers work to punish the company for wading into the state’s politics. The stock’s market cap has declined by about $46.6 billion since March 1, just days before the company came out against the legislation.

Disney CEO Bob Chapek said his company would end political donations in the Sunshine State.

Now Republican lawmakers are exacting their revenge.

This week in a 23-16 vote, the GOP-led Senate passed the legislation that would dismantle the Reedy Creek Improvement District, which allows Disney to oversee its own zoning, infrastructure, laws, and policing in the area around its parks. The state House also voted to do so by a 70-38 vote.
So what this means is that most Americans are not on board with grooming infants and toddlers for rape.

Israel shutters Gaza pedestrian crossing after rocket attacks on south
[IsraelTimes] Gantz had vowed ’harsh response’ to continued rocket fire, but military doesn’t strike Hamas, one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede, sites overnight; Erez Crossing to reopen following assessment on Sunday.

Israel announced the temporary closure of its sole pedestrian crossing with the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip on Saturday, after three rockets were fired from the Hamas-run coastal enclave at southern Israel late Friday and overnight.

According to the military’s liaison to the Paleostinians, the crossing will not reopen for Paleostinian workers on Sunday after it had been shuttered since Thursday afternoon due to the Passover holiday.

"Following the rockets that were fired toward Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip last night, it was decided that crossings into Israel for Gazook merchants and workers through the Erez Crossing will not be permitted this upcoming Sunday," the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, known by its acronym COGAT, said in a statement.

"The re-opening of the crossing will be decided in accordance with a security situational assessment," COGAT added.

The crossing — along with crossings with the West Bank — was already closed since Thursday at 5 p.m., and was to remain in effect until Saturday at an hour yet to be determined.

Exceptions are made for humanitarian and other outstanding cases but require the approval of COGAT.

The number of Paleostinians in the Gaza Strip who can work in Israel was raised to 12,000 last month, and the government said it would raise it by an additional 8,000, to a total of 20,000.

Mayor of Arab town of Umm al-Fahm confronts residents for rioting over Temple Mount
Interesting dynamics.
[IsraelTimes] Samir Subhi Mahamed clears protesters from city street, says he supports ’legitimate protest, but not violence’.

The mayor of the Arab Israeli town of Umm al-Fahm
... home of the outlawed Northern Branch of the Islamic Movement, the militant arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in Israel....
confronted city residents who were protesting against Israel over Jerusalem’s Temple Mount on Friday.

Mayor Samir Subhi Mahamed told off the young, masked men who were protesting Israeli actions at the Jerusalem holy site and trying to block traffic from entering Umm al-Fahm.

The protesters chanted "Israel is a terror state," attempted to damage property, lit tires on fire and shot off fireworks, the Kan public broadcaster reported. The demonstration took place at the end of a procession following Ramadan prayers.

A large police force was in the area in case of an escalation. Friday reports said dozens were seen chanting in Umm al-Fahm in support of the Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®, terror group and protesters who confronted police on the Temple Mount earlier that day.

Video from the scene showed Mahamed shouting and gesturing at men on a city street.

Mahamed told Haaretz that he was trying to calm a tense situation.

"I’m in favor of legitimate protest, but not violence," Mahamed told Haaretz.

"There’s no place for a protest that disturbs public order. That doesn’t serve anyone, and definitely not the message we’re trying to send," he said.

He said it was important to protest Israeli actions at the al-Aqsa Mosque, "but in a legitimate way."

The protesters were from a group called al-Hirak al-Shabaab
...... al-Qaeda's tentacle in East Africa...
i ("The Youth Movement") that is not affiliated with any political party, and is known for taking Death Eater positions.

Police later said four minors were arrested over rioting in the city. "The riots included attempts to block the entrance to the city, firing fireworks, throwing stones at the [police] forces and burning tires in the middle of the road," police said in a statement.

Battle for French presidency billed as a choice 'between plague and cholera': Far-right Le Pen is first to cast vote in nail-biting election against Macron as voters head to polls in France today
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] So billed by those of the Left.
  • A big question now is how many of France's 48.7 million eligible voters won't cast ballots out of apathy

  • Choice between Macron
...center right, elitist, married to his school teacher, and once again the choice of those voting against Le Pen...
    and Le Pen
...populist, nationalist, therefore labelled far right by those who despise such things...
often compared to deciding 'between the plague and cholera'

  • Le Pen, who was behind Macron in the latest opinion polls, was pictured casting her ballot Sunday morning

  • Macron has watered down a campaign pledge to progressively raise the retirement age in France to 65

  • Voting stations will close at 8:00 pm local time (1800 GMT), when preliminary results will be released that usually predict the final result with a high degree of accuracy
Update at 12:45 p.m.:
Turnout figures on Sunday showed a 63.23% participation rate by 5 p.m. (1500 GMT), the interior ministry said, below the 65.30% recorded at the same time in the 2017 election.

The Bay of Pigs: The Sickening Truth Part III
[Townhall] "This weekend marked the 61st Anniversary of the Bay of Pigs invasion. We honor the memory of the freedom-fighters who bravely faced the communist Cuban regime. Their legacy lives on today." (Tweet by Fl Gov. Ron DeSantis April 17th.)

Outnumbered over ten to one by Soviet-led forces and betrayed by their sponsor, these mostly civilian volunteers fought till the last bullet. In three days of relentless close-quarter fighting they made monkeys of the Soviet commanders at the scene and cannon-fodder of their Cuban lackeys, inflicting losses of 20 to one.

Fidel, Raul, and Che were quite jittery there for awhile, urging caution in the counterattack. From the lethal fury of the attack and the horrendous casualties their troops and militia were taking, the two Soviets satraps assumed they faced at least 20,000 invading "mercenaries," as they called them.

Yet it was a band of mostly civilian volunteers they outnumbered laughably. But to hear Castro's echo chamber (the D.C. beltway media and leftist academics), Fidel was the plucky David and the invaders the bumbling Goliath.

In fact, if JFK wanted some genuine profiles in courage he might have looked at the men he betrayed on that heroic beachhead. Some of most jaw-dropping heroics, however, came after the shooting ended, after they’d spent their last bullets and knew no more were coming from their ally, the most powerful nation on earth. The same one that enforced a "no-fly zone" half a country wide on another continent (Iraq) with half the U.S. Air Force for a decade but refused to provide one three miles across, 90 miles away, for half a day with two planes.

At any rate, the battle was over in three days, but the heroism was not.

[OneIndia] The purported video of the the terrorist attack on Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) bus on Friday has gone viral on social media. News agency has posted the unverified clip of the incident on Twitter.

In the clip, the Death Eaters are seen attacking the bus.

The CISF, in a statement, said, all the CISF personnel came under heavy firing from the terrorists. "The CISF personnel immediately took position and retaliated. In the attack, the Central Armed Police Force said, Assistant Sub Inspector S.P. Patel of CISF laid down his life while undergoing treatment in hospital, one personnel was grievously injured and six other personnel of the Force sustained minor injuries while valiantly retaliating against the terrorist attack.

Explosion at Nigerian illegal oil refinery kills more than 100
[Aljazeera] More than 100 people were killed overnight in an explosion at an illegal oil refining depot in Nigeria’s Rivers state, a local government official and an environmental group said.

"The fire outbreak occurred at an illegal bunkering site and it affected more than 100 people who were burned beyond recognition," the state commissioner for petroleum resources, Goodluck Opiah, said on Saturday.

Unemployment and poverty in the oil-producing Niger Delta have made illegal crude refining an attractive business but with deadly consequences. Crude oil is tapped from a web of pipelines owned by major oil companies and refined into products in makeshift tanks.

The hazardous process has led to many fatal accidents and has polluted a region already blighted by oil spills in farmland, creeks and lagoons.

The Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre said several vehicles that were in a queue to buy illegal fuel were burned in the explosion.

Al Jazeera’s Fidelis Mbah said that there are dozens of illegal oil businesses scattered around southern Nigeria.

"The unemployed youth are trying to produce oil on their own in order to sell to survive," he said, speaking from Abuja. "The youths know that this is dangerous but because of the poverty levels, they have taken to [working in] illegal refineries."

"The government said the owner of the illegal refinery is presently on the run and they have declared him wanted," Mbah added. "They’re hoping that if he’s apprehended, they will find out exactly what happened."

At least 25 people, including some children, were killed in an explosion and fire at another illegal refinery in Rivers state in October.

In February, local authorities said they had started a crackdown to try to put a stop to the refining of stolen crude, but with little apparent success.

#2  Wikipedia:

Rivers State is a diverse state that is home to many ethnic groups, the majority being Igbo or Igboid, but also including the Ogoni and Ijaw.

In 2019, Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike declared Rivers State to be a Christian state because it is made up of 90% Christians and 10% orthodox with few strangers practicing Islam unconventionally.

As I recall, Snowy Thing, the issue in that part of the world is that the oil companies are not sharing their wealth with the locals, supporting them in the style to which they feel keenly entitled.

Iraq
Iraq launches new phase of anti-ISIS operation in west of the country
[Rudaw] Iraqi armed forces on Saturday launched the second phase of a broad security operation in western provinces in an attempt to pursue and eliminate remnants of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) in these areas, Iraqi Security Media Cell announced.

Dubbed Solid Will, the new phase of the operation is carried out under the supervision of the Joint Operations Command units and participated by the Border Guard Command, Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF, or Hashd al-Shaabi), Iraqi Special Forces, the Counter-Terrorism Service, and the Rapid Response Division, according to the statement from the cell.

"These operations, carried out by the security forces, aims to dry up the sources of terrorism, pursue ISIS terrorist elements, and clear the lands from the taint of terrorism and crime in its various forms," it added.

The operation seeks to eliminate the threat of ISIS through setting specific targets in different areas in the western provinces, and will heavily rely on accurate information from the intelligence agencies and the support of Iraqi air forces.

Iraqi PM Mustafa al-Kadhimi arrived in Anbar province hours after the new phase started to closely monitor the campaign.

"I say to ISIS: You have tested us in various fields, militarily and security, praise be to God that we record victory after victory on a daily basis, and you are losing day after day," the PM’s office cited Kadhimi saying in a speech in Anbar.

The first phase of Solid Will, which sought to pursue ISIS remnants in Salahaddin, Anbar, and Nineveh, was conducted on March 29, lasting for three days. It resulted in the destruction of 19 ISIS dens and six tunnels, in addition to finding numerous explosive-laden vehicles, booby-trapped houses, an explosive lab, and a number of weapons and ammunition, including four Katyusha rockets, two RBG7 launchers, and 30 projectiles.

Three Turkish soldiers killed in Duhok: defense ministry
[Rudaw] Ottoman Turkish defence ministry announced on Friday the death of three soldiers during festivities with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in Duhok province, Kurdistan Region.

The ministry said in a statement late Friday that the three soldiers, including a lieutenant, were killed by the PKK as part of Ankara’s fresh military operation, dubbed Operation Claw-Lock. This has raised Ottoman Turkish soldiers' official corpse count to five since the campaign began on Monday.

Ottoman Turkish President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than there are in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really most important...
claimed on Friday that 45 PKK fighters have been "neutralised" in the framework of his country’s latest offensive. Ottoman Turkish officials use the term "neutralise" to imply surrenders, killings or capturing.

The new operation targets PKK hideouts in the mountainous areas of Metina, Zap, Avashin and Basyan in Duhok province.

The PKK, which usually announces its casualties late, said on Friday that one of its fighters was killed in Duhok on Monday without clarifying how. The group has claimed the death of 127 Ottoman Turkish soldiers in Duhok since Monday.

Both sides often release exaggerated corpse counts of the other side.

Operation Claw-Lock is the fourth stage of Ankara’s Claw operations against the PKK in the Kurdistan Region, with the first stage starting in 2019.

Murat Karayilan, a top PKK commander, told his party’s media on Friday that the latest attacks are not an operation but a "major war''."

"Airdropping operations were conducted to launch a full-scale invasion attack. This is not an operation, but a major war," he said.

Erdogan has said that the anti-PKK operations will continue, claiming that soon there will be no place called Qandil, a mountainous area in the Kurdistan Region where the PKK headquarters is located.

Here They Go Again: Wikipedia Deletes Information on Hunter Biden's Firm
[Red State] I checked the Wikipedia entry for Rosemont Seneca Partners a couple of weeks ago when I was writing an article about Hunter Biden and referencing Eric Schwerin, the president of the investment company. Hunter was one of the co-founders of the company. Joe Biden has constantly maintained he knew nothing about his son’s business, but Schwerin acted as something like a business manager, in some respects, over Biden’s affairs, according to the emails on Hunter’s laptop.

As my colleague Mike Miller reported earlier, Schwerin also sat down with Joe Biden at the Obama White House, and visited the White House nearly 20 times — yet another instance of Joe Biden’s claim being proven false.

But, it sounds like another effort to obscure the facts and relationships might be underway in this matter.

That Wikipedia entry for Rosemont Seneca Partners that I had previously been able to check just got deleted earlier this week (Wednesday) — on the basis that it was "not notable," just as the investigation into Hunter Biden seems to be coming to a head. Talk about an effort to control information. They made clear that it was about stopping "conspiracy" theories about Hunter Biden.

Villagers suffer because of Turkey’s operation, bombardement of their area
[Rudaw] Locals of Duhok province’s Shiladze town struggle to bring herbal products to the markets because of the war between the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund...
The Ottoman Turkish army’s bombardment has forbidden the citizens to get profits from their herbal products this year.

This has led to a surge in the price of herbs by around 300 percent.

"There is not a single day that they do not bombard us. People are afraid to go to these areas because there is a slight chance you come back from there. We received 400 to 500 kilos of mushrooms last year and the year before, but this year, we only received 60 kilos of mushrooms," Omed Hashim, herb seller told Rudaw.

Hundreds of people in the mountainous areas of Duhok make a living from selling herbs.

Khame Khazim has been selling herbs in the market for about 25 years. She had been paying for all of her household expenses by selling spring herbs.

This year, Khazim has not made any decent income to pay her expenses.

"We do not dare go to the border areas because of the fight. We are afraid to go there. The sound of guns and artillery continues and we do not want to go there," Khazim told Rudaw.

The Secretary of the Duhok Provincial Council, Said Nerwai, told Rudaw that "poverty and unemployment rate was an issue because of the Ottoman Turkish bombardment."

"The continued bombardment of the Ottoman Turkish army has had a major impact on the area in general and the lives of citizens in particular," he added.

According to people who sell herbal products, they used to bring a large portion of spring herbs to the mountainous areas, but this year, they were only able to bring between 300 and 500 kilos of herbs into the market.

Turkey announced a new phase of a series of military operations against the PKK in Duhok province on Monday. Dubbed Operation Claw-Lock, the air and ground campaign heavily focuses on mountainous areas on Turkey’s borders with the Kurdistan Region.

The PKK has claimed the death of 127 Ottoman Turkish soldiers in Duhok since Monday.

Seven out of 92 villages are left inhabited for now. The rest have been abandoned because of the conflict between both the PKK and Turkey over the past decades, according to data from the Shiladze administration authorities.

More than 500 villages have been emptied in the Kurdistan Region over three decades of the Turkey-PKK conflict.

Five alleged ISIS members arrested across Iraq
[Rudaw] Five alleged prominent Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) members across numerous Iraqi provinces were arrested on Saturday and multiple stockpiles of equipment were seized, state media reported, citing a statement from Iraq's Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency.

The agency said that operations "to follow up on terrorist elements to punish them and dry up their sources" continue in the country, amid an ongoing operation to clear Iraq's western provinces of ISIS remnants.

Two of the arrestees worked in the province of Kirkuk,
... a thick stew of Arabs, Turkmen, Kurds, and probably Antarcticans, all of them mutually hostile most of the time...
while another two operated in Nineveh, with the fifth being arrested in Baghdad.

A cache of equipment belonging to the terror group was also seized in Tarmiyah district, located about 50 kilometers north of the capital. The agency reported that the stockpile "included Austrian projectiles, 486 explosive-laden lighters, and 2,000 bullets buried underground in plastic barrels."

The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF, or Hashd al-Shaabi) said on Saturday that they had thwarted an ISIS attack in the town of Jurf al-Nasr in Babil province.

The aforementioned developments come on the same day that Iraq launched the second phase of an operation, dubbed Solid Will, to eliminate ISIS from its west. 12,000 PMF fighters alongside several other forces have partaken in the operation.

ISIS seized control of swathes of Iraqi land in 2014. The group was declared territorially defeated in 2017 but it continues to carry out bombings, hit-and-run attacks, and abductions across several provinces.

In its propaganda magazine on Thursday, ISIS claimed to have conducted 28 attacks in Iraq from April 14 to April 20, killing and injuring 51 people.

Sadr proposes to ban normalization of ties with Israel
[Rudaw] Prominent Shiite holy man Moqtada Tater al-Sadr
...hereditary Iraqi holy man and leader of a political movement in Iraq. He had his hereditary rival, al-Khoei, assassinated only a few hours after the holy rival's appearance out of exile in 2003. Formerly an Iranian catspaw, lately he's gagged over some of their more outlandish antics, then went back to catspawry...
on Saturday said that his bloc intends to introduce a bill criminalizing the normalization of relations with Israel, following a series of Trump administration-brokered talks that saw numerous Moslem countries normalize ties with the Jewish state.

Sadr said that the "issue of normalization and Israeli ambitions to dominate our beloved Iraq" was one of the core reasons that got the Sadrist Movement involved with the electoral process again.

"The Sadrist bloc and its allies ... will soon announce a draft project to criminalize normalization and dealing with the Zionist entity at all," he said in a tweet.

The normalization of ties with Israel as part of the Abraham Accords is a US-led joint Middle East peace initiative. Four countries — the United Arab Emirates, Sudan, Bahrain, and Morocco — have announced normalization agreements with Israel, with America's support.

Sadr added that once his bloc proposes the bill, it will be passed to the parliament for voting. It is noteworthy that the holy man's bloc emerged as the largest party of the October elections, securing 73 parliamentary seats.

A conference advocating for Iraq to join the Abraham Accords was held in the Kurdistan Region's capital of Erbil in September and was attended by more than 300 Sunnis and Shiites from across the country.

Widespread condemnation from Baghdad and Erbil struck the conference, with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi calling it "illegal" and saying that the concept of normalization with Israel is illegal as per the Iraqi constitution.

Sadr also expressed staunch rejection of the conference. He said Erbil "must forbid such terrorist Zionist meetings" and called on the Iraqi government to arrest all who attended, otherwise threatening to take action himself.

"We shall take responsibility for what must be done according to Sharia," he tweeted at the time, referring to laws derived from Islamic teachings.

Days after, an Iraqi court issued arrest warrants for three people accused of participating in the conference.

A large population of Jews used to call Iraq home. In 1941, the Farhud, a violent mostly peaceful pogrom, marked the beginning of the end of one of Iraq's oldest communities. A decade after the anti-Semitic violence of the Farhud, more than 120,000 Jews were airlifted out of Iraq in Operation Ezra and Nehemiah.

Turkey’s fresh military campaign against the PKK in Duhok: Why now?
[Rudaw] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
launched its first military operation against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the newly-established autonomous Kurdistan Region in the fall of 1992 with the involvement of thousands of troops, hoping to remove the Kurdish rebels on its borders with Iraq and Iran. Three decades on, Ankara launched the latest phase of its Operation Claw against the group in the Region last week. Some questions that emerge are why is the Ottoman Turkish army conducting a fresh campaign now? And what can it change on the ground?

A Kurdish politician who used to be close friends with the PKK’s jailed leader Abdullah Ocalan decades ago, said that Turkey’s latest operation is a preparation for its alleged full-scale operation, expected to commence in 2023, to regain control of Iraqi land which used to be part of the Ottoman Empire.
The PKK was formed in 1978, stating its goal of obtaining increased political and cultural rights for Kurds in Turkey. It spent the first six years fighting other Turkey-based Kurdish political parties, to pave the way for its dream of leading the Kurdish movement in the country. In 1984, the PKK began its armed struggle against Ankara inside the country while boosting its camps in what is now the Kurdistan Region, following an agreement with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP).

...Democrat National Committee, where all those off-the-wall talking points we hear as news stories originate...
, the opposition research firm Fusion GPS, and the Perkins Coie law firm are fighting Durham’s efforts to compel the submission of withheld documents, arguing their claims of attorney-client privilege should keep the records concealed. However,
women are made to be loved, not understood...
Durham is continuing his legal pressure as he insists those groups played a coordinated role in pushing false Trump-Russia collusion claims.

Fusion "was not primarily providing or supporting expertise relating to legal advice; instead, it appears that the investigative firm’s primary, if not sole, function was to generate opposition research materials that the firm then shared widely," Durham said this month.

"Meeting to agree on the express goal of a joint venture is precisely what happened here, on more than one occasion," the special counsel said early Saturday morning.

Day 59 of Invasion: Day 5 of Battle of Donbas
this is from militaryland.net another more or less neutral site is understandingwar.com both these have narrative and maps

livemap.com ukraine has interactive maps also

- Ukraine has counterattacked and taken some territory North of Kharkiv. If this continues it threatens part of the Russia supply lines.

- Russia continues to attack on numerous points along the front but has gained little today, although yesterday they had some 4 km advances

- Russia has broken off active battle against the Ukraine holdouts in Mariupol for the past two days. Russia admits it has taken heavy casualties in this sector. Russia says they will stave the defenders out (which also means starving civilians) and send some of the attacking forces there to other parts of the Ukraine.

- Lots of bombardment by both Russia and Ukraine. Ukraine claimed a major hit on a Russian command post in the south near Kherson.

Kiss of Death:Schiff sez Liz Cheney Is a 'Person of Great Courage and Conviction'

He currently serves as the chairman of the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. In a manner reminiscent of Joe McCarthy, on March 22, 2017, in a interview with Chuck Todd on MSNBC Schiff claimed there was “more than circumstantial evidence now” that Donald Trump's campaign colluded with Russia." Todd followed up by asking if he had seen direct evidence of collusion and Schiff responded that there was "evidence that is not circumstantial and is very much worthy of investigation"...

Schiff said, "What is staggering about this, Joy, is Kevin McCarthy talks to Republican colleagues after the attack on the Capitol. He acknowledges the president bears responsibility. He talked to the president. The president admitted bearing some responsibility for the attack. He talked about calling on the president to resign, and then when he’s asked about this, he lies."

He added, "Liz Cheney is not the kind of person who leaks tapes and denies it. That is just not who she is. One thing this chapter of our history has revealed, and it’s something the historian Robert Carroll said, power doesn’t corrupt as much as it reveals. It doesn’t reveal us for our best but says who we are. Well, power revealed Liz Cheney to be a person of great courage and conviction. It revealed Kevin McCarthy to be utterly craven, and in fact, so many of the other members of his team, like Elise Stefanik — who, when Liz Cheney said I’m not telling a big lie that eats at the heart of our democracy, Elise Stefanik put up her hand and said I’ll tell the lie if I can have her job. I think those attacks suggesting Liz Cheney was the source of this for an effort to tear her down when Kevin McCarthy is being torn down by his own falsehoods."

17:35 The occupants again disrupted the evacuation from Mariupol, said the mayor's adviser Petr Andryushchenko. At least 200 Mariupol residents came to the collection point, waiting for evacuation in Zaporozhye. Instead of the promised buses, the military of the Russian Federation drove up to them and ordered them to disperse, because now there will be shelling.

At the same time, the occupants moved buses to a point near the Metro shopping center (200 meters from the agreed evacuation point near Port City) and began loading. After loading, the residents of Mariupol were told that there would only be "evacuation" to Dokuchaevsk, that is, to the occupied territory. People were not allowed to get off the bus. In response to questions, the invaders said that "the nationalists fired at the evacuation point."

Russia must be recognized as a state sponsor of terrorism, and it must be treated accordingly. No business, no contacts, no cultural projects. We need a wall between civilization and barbarians who hit civilian cities with missiles."

16:09 Russian media report that on the evening of April 22, a train with 308 refugees from Mariupol arrived in Nakhodka (Primorsky Krai, southeastern Russia).

Andryushchenko also reports that on April 8, Russia deported 466 Mariupol residents to Cheboksary (Chuvashia), including 106 children.

16:00 Russian occupiers fired at least six cruise missiles at Odessa, several were shot down. At least one rocket fell and exploded, hitting residential buildings. It is already known for sure about one dead person - he burned to death in his car in the courtyard of the house, according to Anton Gerashchenko.

15:55 The invaders began forced mobilization, including doctors, in the occupied territories of Kherson, Zaporozhye and Kharkiv regions. British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said her country, together with partners, "secured the largest World Bank financial commitment in the history of low-income countries around the world - to support those facing economic hardship as a result of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

13:59 The war in Ukraine has already affected about 25% of world grain trade and led to higher prices and reduced access to food in importing countries from Ukraine and Russia, First Deputy Minister of Agricultural Policy Taras Vysotsky said in a blog on Forbes.

He notes that the supply of wheat from Ukraine is more than 10% of the annual consumption of wheat for 15 countries. For example, this is 28% of the needs of Indonesia, 21% - of Bangladesh, and Egypt imports almost 80% of its wheat from Russia and Ukraine.

13:38 Russian occupiers began to defiantly use Soviet symbols on their clothes and equipment:

13:33 France and Germany, after the annexation of Crimea by Russia, sold military equipment to Moscow for 230 million pounds. It was probably used during the current Russian invasion of Ukraine, writes The Daily Mail.

About ten grenades fired from abroad from an automatic grenade launcher exploded near the border village of Senkovka, the State Border Service of Ukraine reports.

This is the fourth shelling of Chernihiv region from Russian territory recorded by the border guards after the Ukrainian Defense Forces ousted the invaders from the region.

13:13 Zaluzhny urged not to disseminate information that can be used by the enemy against the Armed Forces of Ukraine: “I urge everyone, especially bloggers with large audiences, to refrain from public assessments of military operations, logistics, support and decisions of commanders. Only the military leadership owns all the information and uses it to repel aggression. The key to the successful destruction of the enemy is the non-dissemination of this information."

13:05 Arakhamia said that Ukraine has problems with replenishing the exchange fund: “I see a lot of comments from angry Ukrainians about why take prisoners. I understand emotions, I myself recently had the same position, but we all must understand that every captured enemy - this is the potential life of our hero for exchange. And with modern artillery battles at long distances, it has become much more difficult to take prisoners, so we have problems with replenishing the exchange fund."

12:34 There are practically no "people's policemen" left in the "DPR" - most of them died in the battles near Mariupol. According to Ukrainian intelligence, in the battles in the Mariupol direction, the invaders involved the entire personnel of the so-called "Ministry of Internal Affairs of the DPR", including servicemen of the "internal troops of the DPR" and cadets of the "Donetsk Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs".

During the participation in hostilities only in the Mariupol direction, irretrievable losses amounted to up to a thousand people, incl. 26 cadets; sanitary losses exceeded 2800 people. In other directions, irretrievable losses amounted to about 500 people, sanitary - about 2100 people.

The lack of "law enforcement officers" led to a deterioration in the situation with the support of "public law and order" and greatly complicated further forced mobilization. The "Minister of Internal Affairs of the DPR" ordered a special internal investigation against the head of the "Donetsk Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs" and the chiefs of the apparatus of the "VV MVD" on the fact of losses among the personnel.

12:23 In Britain, supermarkets are beginning to limit the sale of butter to one person - because of the war in Ukraine, butter stocks are declining, writes the BBC. Most sunflower oil in the UK comes from Ukraine, and export disruptions have led to a certain shortage and increased demand. The British Retail Consortium says the restrictions are temporary and meant to ensure equal access.

12:14 Podolyak said that it would be possible to rescue people from Mariupol in an exchange format - such an agreement can be reached during a meeting of the negotiating delegations of Ukraine and Russia in the blocked city. At the same time, the defenders of Mariupol will not lay down their arms when leaving. "That is, we give away a certain number of prisoners, but we take our people away. They [the defenders of Mariupol] will definitely not hand over their weapons," the adviser to the head of the OP emphasized.

12:03 Belgium will provide a new batch of military aid to Ukraine, and will also help investigate Russian war crimes, writes RTBF. Brussels has estimated all its deliveries to Ukraine since the beginning of the war at 76 million euros. In particular, "the most likely option is a provocation at the chemical and biological facilities in Kharkov and Kyiv, and a provocation at the Zaporozhye NPP is not ruled out."

In addition, as stated by the Russian Defense Ministry, Kyiv "seriously considers the issue of strikes on the storage of radioactive waste in the village of Kamenskoye."

11:42 In Melitopol, Russians are hollowing out copper wire from the walls to be scrapped in Russia, the Defense Forces of the Zaporozhye Territory report.

11:18 Vereshchuk warned that the invaders may try today to organize their own corridor for evacuation from Mariupol to Russia. She stressed that the corridor, organized by the Ukrainian side, works exclusively in the direction of Zaporozhye.

11:10 In the Lviv region, they changed their minds about canceling the curfew for Easter - it will operate, as in the future, from 23:00 to 05:00. Governor Maxim Kozitsky explained this decision by saying that information had been received about the possible activities of sabotage groups. He stressed that the church leadership of the region is in solidarity with this decision, in all churches night services are transferred to the morning hours.

11:07 US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland explained that Washington is negotiating with Ukraine on "security assurances", not guarantees. "Security assurances" is a term in the Budapest Memorandum that provides for no fixed guarantees of protection or collective defence.

11:03 Russian invaders de-energized the pumping station in the Lugansk region with their projectile, as a result, the center of Lisichansk, as well as the cities of Novodruzhesk and Privolye, were left without water, said the head of the OVA Serhiy Gaidai.

10:58 Podolyak said that the main discussion in the negotiating groups is now around security guarantees, issues of territorial structure are taken out of brackets: "Here, Ukraine's position is clear, it was formulated by President Zelensky: ORDLO and Crimea are Ukrainian territories. Now the negotiating groups are working out the text of the basic agreement on security guarantees. It is this document that the guarantor countries will subsequently consider and sign. The Security Guarantee Treaty provides a mechanism for getting out of the war."

10:56 The curfew in Nikolaev on Easter night will operate from 19:00 to 5:00, Governor Vitaly Kim said. Previously, it operated from 21:00 to 6:00.

10:52 In the Kharkiv region, the occupiers inflicted 56 strikes in a day, as a result of which two people were killed, 19 more were injured, Oleg Sinegubov, head of the OVA, said. He said that the Ukrainian defenders continue to hold defensive lines in the region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine made a successful counteroffensive. Fierce fighting continued throughout the day.

10:51 Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics explained the importance of NATO expansion: "For those who believe that NATO expansion was a mistake, keep in mind: where NATO is, there is peace, where Russia is, there is war."

10:49 The Wall Street Journal writes about the scheme for circumventing sanctions by Russia on the example of oil supplies. So, the Russian Federation is loading raw materials onto tankers at the address "destination unknown." Further, Russian oil is mixed with other oil, turning into a "Latvian mixture" and "Turkmen mixture" on the market. Since the invasion of Ukraine, 11 million barrels have already been loaded under this scheme.

10:40 Andryushchenko reports on the increased filtration of men in the private sector of the Kalmius and Left Bank districts of Mariupol. The first confirmations of forced mobilization into the "army of the DPR" have been received. Mostly these are young men under 40 years old, they are sent towards Donetsk. Information about their number and further fate is being specified.

10:27 The invaders continue to cover up the traces of their crimes in the center of Mariupol: the rubble of the Drama Theater is currently being cleared. According to the mayor's adviser Petr Andryushchenko, in the process of cleaning they pack the found bodies of the dead in plastic bags, move them by tractors and trucks to the storage facility in the industrial zone near Nikolskoye Highway, and then, as they fill up, they take them to the village. Mangush, where they dump it in an embankment into a 300-meter trench.

Only seconded workers of the so-called "Ministry of Emergency Situations of the DPR" were involved in cleaning up the bodies of the dead Mariupol residents because of the refusal of local residents to participate in such work.

Andryushchenko recalled that the territory of the square under the Drama Theater was used as a cemetery for soldiers of Nazi Germany, whose bodies were exhumed and reburied only in 2018-2019 during the reconstruction. Now the Russians have once again turned the center of Mariupol into a cemetery.

launchers OTRK / TRK - 4.

09:52 In Bucha, the collection and exhumation of the bodies of civilians who died at the hands of the invaders is coming to an end, the mayor of the city Anatoly Fedoruk said: "The figure that we have today is 412. This means that every third person who died in the Kiev region is from Bucha ."

09:50 Podolyak on Russia's new plans: "Moscow's appetite continues to grow. Now they say that their goal in southern Ukraine is access to Transnistria, where Russians are allegedly also oppressed. It is obvious that the next target of the army of looters and rapists will be Moldova. What again proves that Ukraine today is fighting for the security of Europe."

09:42 The American Institute does not believe in the resumption of negotiations between Kiev and Moscow in the coming weeks, as both sides await the outcome of the ongoing Russian offensive in the Donbas.

Analysts note that the Kremlin is increasingly describing the war in Ukraine as a war with NATO for domestic Russian audiences to explain slower-than-imagined operations and mounting casualties. At the same time, Moscow will not be able to contain NATO expansion and is not in a position to disrupt Ukraine's military cooperation with the West.

Experts also consider it unlikely that the Kremlin will use tactical nuclear weapons in Ukraine at this stage of the war.

09:36 Russian troops are finishing their regrouping and preparing for a large-scale offensive , Vadim Skibitsky, a spokesman for the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, said. According to him, all BTG, which were previously concentrated on the territory of Belarus, are now being transferred to the east of Ukraine.

The attacks of the Russians in the east in all directions are attempts to determine the most vulnerable places of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in order to launch a large-scale offensive.

08:40 British intelligence notes that, despite increased activity, Russian troops have not made significant progress over the past 24 hours. Ukrainian counterattacks continue to hinder their efforts.

The Russian air and sea forces have not established control in any of the areas due to the effectiveness of Ukrainian air and sea defense.

Intense fighting continues in Mariupol, thwarting Russian attempts to take the city and further slowing down their desired advance in Donbas.

08:38 The Times writes that after the sinking of the cruiser Moskva, the Russian fleet has become more cautious and is increasing missile launches in Ukraine from submarines.

08:35 The UN Secretary General said that after visiting Moscow on April 28, he would arrive in Kiev and hold a meeting with Zelensky: "We need urgent steps to save lives, end human suffering and establish peace in Ukraine."

08:31 British military intelligence commented on Shoigu's statement that "the introduction of new methods of warfare will make it possible to better adapt troops to modern conditions of armed confrontation." In London, they believe that these words are an implicit recognition that the Russian advance is not going the way the Russian leadership expected. It may also indicate the realization that the war is not going according to plan, but it will take time to adapt "tactics, techniques and procedures" and then implement them into operational practice.

This is especially true of mobile ground warfare. In the meantime, the "new methods" have not been introduced, the Russian army will rely on the old ones - primarily on artillery. As a result, it is likely that Russian troops will not be able to quickly break the Ukrainian defense, British intelligence notes.

08:22 Canada has delivered a batch of long-range M777 howitzers to Ukraine, Anita Anand, Minister of National Defense of the country, said. According to CBC News, we are talking about four 155-mm howitzers (range up to 30 km).

08:13 The Pentagon is looking for new opportunities for US industry to accelerate the production of "proven, effective weapons" that require minimal training of military personnel and can be quickly exported to Ukraine, writes Reuters.

07:49 According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, units of the 64th separate motorized rifle brigade, which took an active part in the massacres, torture and violence of the civilian population in the city of Bucha, are operating in the area of Izyum and have already suffered losses.

07:47 In the Donetsk direction, the enemy is conducting offensive operations along the entire line of collision, the General Staff reports in the morning report . The enemy is concentrating his main efforts on offensive operations in the Severodonetsk direction, exerting intense fire pressure on our troops in order to drive them out and create conditions for the development of an offensive against Slavyansk. The offensive continues in the direction of Novotoshkovsky and assault operations in the areas of Rubizhnoye, Popasnaya and Maryinka.

07:18 The Russians could use tear gas with chemicals in Mariupol, said US Ambassador to the OSCE Michael Carpenter. He said that at the moment experts are studying the information.

During the BLM/Antifa riots, the only reason Harris County cracked down on them was they were terrified they'd do something outside of it, where they'd be met with instant and massive violence as humans defended themselves and their homes. Even on the highways, I'd say 30% of people driving are armed and a BLM car party would end in gunshots from multiple vehicles.

Iran Revolutionary Guards general survives deadly ambush in restive region — report
[IsraelTimes] Bodyguard killed near checkpoint in Sistan-Balochistan province; attackers arrested, says Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites....
state TV

An Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps general is said to have survived a deadly attack that killed a bodyguard, according to a report on Iranian state TV Saturday.

Brigadier General Hossein Almassi,
...also not in our archives under Hossein Almasi...
a Guards commander in the restive Sistan-Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
province, was traveling in a vehicle near a checkpoint in the lovely provincial capital Zahedan when it came under fire by button men, Rooters reported Saturday, citing Iranian TV.

The general sustained no injuries, the report said.

The bodyguard who was slain was identified as Mahmoud Absalom, the son of a senior IRGC commander in the region, according to a report by the Islamic Theocratic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

Authorities have arrested some suspects but did not identify them, the report added.

Sistan-Balochistan is the site of occasional festivities between Iranian forces and various holy warrior groups. The relationship between the predominantly Sunni residents of the region and Iran’s Shiite theocracy has long been fraught.

The province, bordering Pakistain and Afghanistan, is a base for a Sunni separatist group affiliated with al-Qaeda and known as Jeish al-Adl, or Army of Justice.

Security forces have also clashed with narcos in the province, located along a major smuggling route for Afghan opium and heroin.

In January, IRGC forces said they killed an unidentified gunman who attacked its intelligence office in the town of Saravan in Sistan-Balochistan, about 1,360 kilometers (850 miles) southeast of the capital, Tehran.

In late December, the IRGC said it killed six "armed bandidos" in a shootout in the region that also left three of its members dead. Hossein Almasi

IPOB Vows To Protect Hausas Against ‘Jihadists’ Attacking South-East Residents
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

The Indigenous People of Biafra
...also known as the Igbo, for some reason...
. has assured Hausas and other non-indigenes residing in the South-East of their safety.

Emma Powerful, Media and Publicity Secretary of IPOB, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.

Powerful assured that members of the group would never harm Hausas residing across the South-East region.

He said IPOB and its militia arm, the Eastern Security Network, would protect Hausas against the Jihadists attacking the people of the South-East.

The statement reads, "Following the incessant abduction, killing and burning down of properties belonging to Biafrans and Igbos, we the global movement and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra under the command and leadership of our great leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu wish to state unequivocally that those behind these atrocities are not IPOB member nor are they Eastern Security Network operatives.

"The perpetrators are criminals recruited by our enemies to demonise us. No member of IPOB will engage in acts inimical to the people we are struggling to liberate. We are not turbans and we cannot suddenly resort to terrorism.

"These agents of darkness behind these senseless and barbaric acts are the ones who don't want our detained leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to be released. Their intension is to create the false impression that his followers are violent mostly peaceful but they are wrong.

"We want to make it categorically clear to all and sundry that anybody committing any atrocity in Biafraland in the name of IPOB or ESN operative doesn't want Biafra to come. Those behind this madness are working with the Nigeria security to criminalise IPOB. They must also be prepared to pay for their sins because we will not allow anyone who inflicts pains and sorrow on our people to go free.

"We want to also very strongly condemn any attack on non-Biafran nationals living in our land. These agents of sorrow may be targeting them to further rope us into genocidal attacks which we have always stood against. Our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu had predicted what is happening during his numerous prophetic radio broadcasts. During those broadcasts, he had also spoken against attacks on non indigenes.

"Mazi Nnamdi Kanu made holistic announcement during those days that Hausas are facing the same predicaments Igbo people are facing in Nigeria and should be allowed to do business anywhere they like in Biafraland. Biafrans shall never try to harm any Hausa man or woman in Biafra land for any reason. IPOB will ensure the protection of all persons living in Biafra land including non indigenes. We will continue to protect them against our common enemy —the jihadists and their sponsors."

Boat carrying 60 migrants capsizes off the Lebanese coast
[AlAhram] A boat carrying 60 migrants colonists capsized Saturday night off the Lebanese coast, the Lebanese Red Thingy said. It was not immediately clear if there were any deaths.

The Red Thingy said it sent ambulances to the port of the northern city of Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
in case there were casualties.

Prime Minister Najib Mikati's office said the boast capsized shortly after leaving the northern coastal town of Qalamoun near Tripoli, Lebanon Hezbollahstan
...The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years. It produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. That's three statements. Only the first is subjective....

Mikati's office said the Lebanese army and authorities were on high alert following the case.

For many years Lebanon was a country that took in refugees, but since the country's economic meltdown began in October 2019, thousands of people have left on boats heading to Europe.

Lebanon, a small Mediterranean nation of 6 million people, including 1 million Syrian refugees, is in the grip of the worst economic crisis in the country's modern history. The economic meltdown has put more three-quarters of the country's population into poverty.

Bandits Kill Another Kano Businessman After Ransom Payment Sahara Reporters
[PUBLISH.TWITTER] First thing that popped into my mind was "What would Caesar do?"
Suspected kidnappers operating along the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari axis have killed another Kano businessman, Umar Sani, after collecting ransom from his relatives, Daily Trust reports.

The businessman, also called Magaji, was kidnapped two weeks ago alongside five others on the highway en route Buruku but was later confirmed killed by his co-abductees despite collecting ransom for their release.

The dear departed hailed from Fagge Local Government Area in Kano metropolis.

An elder brother of the dear departed, Hussaini Sani, who confirmed the death, said the kidnappers had called back on Thursday demanding another N20million from them despite killing the businessman.

"Nine of them were kidnapped along the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Road while on their way to Buruku. They later released three of them but withheld six.

"After some time, negotiation started with the families of the six people, and we later agreed to pay them collectively, only for us to see five of them coming back.

"When we asked them about the whereabouts of our brother, they confirmed to us that he was killed by the abductors. We called them (abductors) using the number they used for the negotiation and they insisted that our brother was still alive, and even went ahead to demand another ransom before they would release him.

"When we insisted that we must hear our brother’s voice before paying something again, they opened up to us that he was really killed, saying he was trying to escape. But his colleagues that were released said he was killed intentionally," Hussain added.

Magaji is survived by his wife and four children, who presently reside in the Bichi Local Government Area of the state.

His death is coming barely 10 days after the family of another businessman’s corpse was discovered after payment of N6million ransom to his abductors in the same Birnin Gwari.

#1  If AQ is on your side, well then, you need to switch sides...That said...

This is thought provoking on a couple of levels.

Since 2011 we have had almost no trouble out of AQ and we don't seem to have continued the targeting of their leadership...nor are we diligently pursuing the prosecution of the 9/11 planners in GTMO.

Did we make a deal with the AQ devil? And what did we get in return? Did AQ offer OBL up as a martyr as their part of the bargain?

Republicans are more than capable of blowing the 2022 midterms
[THEHILL] If you don’t believe the Republicans can blow their chances of winning majorities in the House and Senate midterms this year, then you have not paid attention to the past five years of U.S. politics.

At least three factors could reverse the predicted fortune for the GOP. The first would be voter apathy by traditional Republicans, conservatives and people of faith. The second would be — drum roll, please — potential fallout from anything Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
says, does or hints. And the third would be a full-court press by Democrats, aided by some in the mainstream media, to come across as suddenly moderate while metaphorically throwing Joe The Big Guy Biden

Plus the fact that storming an underground fortress is a bad idea. Fighting a war is about managing your resources, which include time and people. Pissing either one away for no gain is both foolish and fatal.

Over 100 People Killed As Illegal Refinery Explodes In Imo Community
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

At least 100 people have died after an illegal refinery went kaboom! at Abaezi Forest in the Ohaji-Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State.

The community is at the boundary between Rivers and Imo states.

Many vehicles were also razed during the incident, which had thrown the community into panic.

A source told SaharaReporters that the fire was ignited by a machine used to pump spilled crude into containers waiting to be loaded into their pots.

Commissioner for Petroleum Resources, Goodluck Opiah, who was at the scene of the incident, said that the state government had declared the owner of the illegal refinery, Okenze Onyenwoke, wanted.

He advised the suspect whom he said was on the run to turn himself in at the nearest cop shoppe.

The commissioner said, "This is a sad development. The Imo State Government has declared wanted, Okenze Onyenwoke, who owns this illegal refinery. I advise him to hand himself over to the police or any security agency."

Two Commanders, 32 Fighters Killed As Boko Haram, ISWAP Clash In Sambisa Forest
[SAHARAREPORTERS] Boko Haram
...the name means Western education is forbidden, They're what you get as the result of a traditional African or Islamic education...
and the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
West Africa Province turbans have clashed, resulting in the killing of two commanders and 32 fighters in Sambisa Forest in Borno State.

A counter insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, disclosed this in a series of tweet on Friday. He stated that separate festivities of the terror groups occurred at Yale in Damboa and Gargash Village in Bama Council.

He added that the 32 casualties were from both sides of the terror groups.

"Two ISWAP Khaids were killed along with four other fighters in an ambush by the rival Boko Haram faction in Yale village," he said.

He disclosed that the bad boyz were potted on April 19, 2022, while moving at night to a newly established ISWAP camp in the forest.

Besides, he revealed that four other ISWAP fighters were caught alive, disarmed and slaughtered by the rival terror group.

According to him, three trucks belonging to ISWAP were also seized by Boko Haram.

Makama further revealed that a top Boko Haram leader, Ambu Mairamiri, had on April 20, 2022, led large numbers of heavily armed Boko Haram gunnies to invade an ISWAP settlement near Ngurosoye.

He said that the invasion led to a heavy shootout, which lasted for over two hours and claimed many lives.

A military source in Maiduguri also told The Guardian that the mutually destructive fight led to the death of about 18 ISWAP turbans while six Boko Haram fighters were also killed.

It was gathered that Mairamiri, who vowed to eliminate all ISWAP terrorists, ordered his men to set ablaze four gun trucks belonging to ISWAP as well as their newly erected makeshift tents in the forest.

The source also stated that the infighting between the two terror groups has taken a new dimension as Boko Haram continues to hunt for ISWAP turbans at night.

He noted that Boko Haram turbans were familiar with forest terrains while ISWAP coordinates reprisal attacks during the daytime.

"The source added that the intensified Operation Desert and Lake Sanity had forced many ISWAP turbans and their families to relocate to safer locations in Mandara Mountain.

"Other hideouts, according to him, include Gargash, Izza, Bula Bakakai and Gobara as well as the rock of Ngulde in Chibok council.

"The risk of exposure and battlefield elimination could increase the rate of surrender among the turbans in the forest and Lake Chad region," he said.

Illegal migrants a missing National Guard soldier tried to rescue were involved in drug trafficking: officials
[Fox News] Boiling mad. Mayorkas and Biden need to be on trial
Two illegal migrants who a now-missing Texas National Guard soldier tried to save from a river were involved in "illicit transnational narcotics trafficking," officials said Saturday as the search for the missing service member resumed.

The soldier went missing on Friday after entering a river in Eagle Pass to help two migrants who officials say "appeared to be drowning as they illegally crossed the river from Mexico to the United States."

In a statement, the Texas Military Dept. said that initial reports from Texas Rangers "have determined that the two migrants were involved in illicit transnational narcotics trafficking." They are both in Customs and Border Protection (CBP) custody.

The search continued until late Friday, with sources telling Fox News that the incident being treated as a drowning, with dive teams searching the water since the service member was not seen resurfacing from the river. The strength of the river’s current forced the Search and Rescue Teams to cease dive operations late Friday, but the search resumed on Saturday.

Government Corruption
Dems' Midterms Panic Means More Election 'Irregularities' Are on Their Way
[PJMEDIA] These are rough times for the Democrats. Everywhere they look, November’s midterm elections are like a freight train rushing down a mountain with no brakes, hurtling toward them as they struggle helplessly while tied to the tracks.

They have been losing Latino voters since Trump was president. Now the youth vote — a usually reliable demographic for the Dems — has decidedly soured on the septuagenarian disaster that’s occupying the Oval Office.

It’s plain for all to see that Biden’s puppet masters and the Democrats in Congress don’t have any ideas that will cause a major course correction before the midterms. That can only mean one thing: the shadowy shenanigans that Democrats are known for will probably be worse than ever this year.

If they can get away with it, that is.

The fact that the Wuhan Chinese Bat Flu pandemic showed up during a presidential election year made 2020 a truly magical time for the soulless cretins who are in charge of the political apparatus in the Democratic Party. Sure, they may have pretended to care about people getting sick and dying, but behind those masks, they were snickering with delight at the opportunity the panic provided them.

Prior to the pandemic, Democrats had to concoct elaborate justifications for their election "modifications," like lying and insisting that it’s nigh on impossible for minorities to get a legal ID in 21st-century America.

Along came COVID and suddenly they could shift election laws on the fly and, laughably, do it all in the name of public health. We saw it all: universal vote-by-mail, extended early voting periods, last-minute voter registration — the full Democrat hit list for killing election integrity.

They can pretend all they want that the 2020 election was error-free, but that’s a narrative that’s been cut out of whole cloth.

Myriad "irregularities" have been — and are still being — discovered. There is no way to have more vote-by-mail and less fraud.

The embarrassing meltdown we’ve seen from the leftists over mask mandates going away is rooted in two things and — surprise! — neither of them has the slightest thing to do with public health.

The first, which Paula wrote about on Wednesday, is about the Democrats’ unholy lust for federal control over the lives of United States citizens:

Ethiopia arrests 34 suspected Al-Shabaab militants
[Garowe] The Æthiopia National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS), Æthiopia's main intelligence body announced on Saturday that 34 suspected members of the terror group al-Shabaab
...... the personification of Somali state failure...
have been arrested and accused of terror plots during the holiday season.

In a press statement, NISS said the suspects were arrested during security operations carried out jointly with Somali and Oromia region's security forces.

"The suspects were secretly conspiring and preparing to conduct severe terror attacks in Æthiopia's capital Addis Ababa, Oromia, and Somali regional states at the time of their arrest," the statement said.

"Al-Shabaab had chosen the ongoing Islamic Ramadan and Orthodox Christian Easter fasting seasons to destabilize Æthiopia through terror attacks, but the plot has been foiled by the careful monitoring and operations of the security and intelligence bodies," the statement further said.

The NISS statement also said various types of small and heavy-sized weapons, as well as bank account documents, were seized from the home of the suspects.

Al-Shabaab is a bully boy Islamic rebel group mainly operating in conflict-wracked Somalia but has also been implicated in terrorist attacks in several other east African countries.

I married an engineer/manager, though both were some years in the future when we met, back at my freshman orientation — in fact he was still technically pre-med at the time. And even then Mr. Wife was being called an arrogant asshole by those whose opinion didn’t matter to him. Not because he thought they were wrong but because as far as he was concerned they were fixating on the wrong thing: he cared about quickly getting the right answers to the important questions, not about whether anyone’s feelings were hurt by the process or the result.

So, dear Xyz, you need to decide whether you are going to continue fighting a battle you will not win, or choose to turn your attention to more satisfying pursuits.

Zelensky gives press conference in Kyiv subway, doesn't hold back on Russian 'bastards'
[KYIVINDEPENDENT] On April 23, two months into Russia’s all-out-war against Ukraine, one metro station in Kyiv got crowded again.President Volodymyr Zelensky gave an unusual presser for Ukrainian and foreign journalists on the platform of the Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square) metro station in the heart of Ukraine’s capital.

The most emotional moment of his two-hour-long talk came when Zelensky addressed Russian attack on Odesa hours earlier. It killed eight people, including a 3-month-old child.

"Stinking bastards," Zelensky repeatedly called the Russians over the Odesa attack, adding that Moscow slid into Nazism.

Violent explosion hits Aden
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] A violent mostly peaceful explosion rocked the southern port city of Aden, local sources said on Saturday.
Has there ever been an explosion that wasn't "violent?"
C'mon, Fred. You've been to Taco Bell, right?
According to local sources, a gunman threw bomb at a group of passengers near a station in the Cairo neighbourhood between the districts of Mansoura and Sheikh Othman, killing the attacker and injuring others.

The explosion caused material damage in the surroundings, while the UAE-backed Southern Traditional Council (STC) militias were deployed in the area following the attack.

No further details about the earth-shattering kaboom were available so far.

Aden and other southern provinces have been witnessing liquidations and security disorder since United Arab Emirates occupation forces took control over the city years ago.

-Signs, Portents, and the Weather-
As FOUR planets align with the moon in a rare celestial spectacular, OSCAR CAINER asks: What will this weekend's cosmic convergence mean for you?
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A rare celestial event is taking place. Four planets: Jupiter, Venus, Mars and Saturn are visible in the heavens.

This unusual alignment of planets has been taking form over the past few days, with the arched line-up enjoying its best visibility between 5am and sunrise in the eastern sky tomorrow morning. They can be seen without a telescope, but will ‘disappear’ as soon as the Sun edges over the horizon, obscuring the view.

The Moon today joins the line-up to lead the parade of planets across the pre-dawn sky, becoming most prominent on Monday and Tuesday about one hour before sunrise. And later in June, Mercury will appear as a fifth planet in the parade.

The key moment to watch out for will be the Black Moon Eclipse next weekend. Like a ‘Blue Moon’ denoting a second Full Moon in one month, the equally unusual ‘Black Moon’ is the same phenomenon, but it occurs with New Moons. As the Moon disappears from the night sky, it allows the rest of the heavens to shine brighter.
Astrological nonsense snipped.

Afghanistan
Strike on Pakistan Army Post Claims 3 Amid Heightened Tensions
[Khaama] In the lasted violence to rattle the volatile region, sources reported that Militant in Afghanistan fired heavy weapons across the border into a Pakistani military post overnight, killing at least three security personnel.

This came at a time Afghanistan is reeling from a series of explosions in recent days, including the bombing of a mosque in northern Balkh province that killed 33 people, as well as the multiple blast that rocked Shia Hazara neighborhood in western Kabul city.

"A firefight ensued with the militants firing toward the army post in Pakistan’s rugged North Waziristan region, and several were killed," the statement said, as Arab News reported. "There was no immediate way to independently confirm details of the attack."

The target killings and increasing bombings in Afghanistan, as well as in neighboring Pakistan, highlight the growing insecurity amid claims of freedom by the Islamic Emirate government, who gained control of the country last August in the closing days of foreign troops withdrawal.

While the Islamic Emirate government has vowed no militant group would use its soil as a base to attack another country, the Pakistani Taliban, known as the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has stepped up its assault on Pakistan’s military outposts from its Afghan hideouts.

According to the United Nations, the TTP militant numbers around 10,000 in Afghanistan.
Good to know.
The Islamic State affiliate known as the Islamic State in Khorasan Province (IS-K) has taken responsibility for some of the recent attacks in Afghanistan and Pakistan, rising tension between the two countries.

"Pakistan strongly condemns the use of Afghan soil by terrorists for activities against Pakistan and expects that the Afghan Government will not allow conduct of such activities, in future," said the Pakistan military statement, as ABC News quoted.

On April 16, Pakistan retaliated with bombing raids in Afghanistan’s border provinces of Khost and Kunar that, according to the United Nations Education Fund (UNICEF), killed at least 20 children.

I've noticed this in my own life as well. An increasing number of people *can't* have an interesting conversation with you about (for example) the modern historical roots of the current conflict in Ukraine because they lack the skills necessary to know that they should consciously have a worldview with which to organize the information in the world around them. In fact, I encounter many who find the idea of thinking hard about what one should believe to be innately offensive.

Say what you will about the old communists: they didn't have this problem. They even read books and quaint things like that.

Ukrainian prisoner of war spoke about Right Sector detachments
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

The Soviets were the best at it.

[RIA Novosti] Ukrainian security forces are actively using barrage detachments to prevent desertion, said senior sergeant of the reconnaissance company of the 57th brigade of Ukrainian troops Mikhail Yankovsky, who laid down his arms.

According to the prisoner, the morale of his 57th motorized infantry brigade "was not very good, it got worse and worse over time."

“Since February, no money has been paid, supplies have been bad, food is generally tight. First they stopped delivering hot food, then allowances rarely came at all. The wounded were no longer evacuated,” Yankovsky told reporters.

He added that the command did not find a better way to boost morale than to send barrage detachments, especially after many military men began to lay down their arms and go over to the side of the LPR .
"A group of about 10 people arrived from the center. Our commander presented them as a psychological support group. In fact, this group was like a barrage detachment," the prisoner of war said.

During each battle, they made sure that no one left their positions, "they shot at anyone suspicious without warning."

The leader in the group was a Right Sector activist by the name of Vuiko, the military man said. "A very cruel man, he even had the call sign Punisher," he said.

Also in the group was a sniper with the call sign "Raven".

“During the battle, he took a position in the rear and warned that he would “wet” everyone who was running in the wrong direction,” Yankovsky said.

Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine on February 24. President Vladimir Putin called its goal "the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years."

For this, according to him, it is planned to carry out "demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine", to bring to justice all war criminals responsible for "bloody crimes against civilians" in Donbass.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces strike only at the military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops and, as of March 25, they have completed the main tasks of the first stage - they have significantly reduced the combat potential of Ukraine. The main goal in the Russian military department was called the liberation of Donbass.

Taking Away Special Treatment For Woke Corporations Is Not ‘Authoritarian’
[ZH] For many years now I have been pointing out that there is a false public perception of the relationship between governments and corporations. In the past the belief has been that government is supposed to keep private business in check while private business is supposed to limit government intrusion through the assertion of property rights. But when it comes to major corporations there is no such game of balance.

In reality, international conglomerates like Disney generally do whatever they please because they are PARTNERS with government.

For whatever reason, certain companies are afforded special treatment by state and federal institutions and what this does is create problems. This is not a free market system, rather, it is socialist and monopolistic. Subsidies and incentives can sometimes be used to encourage business growth, but when they are afforded to only a tiny handful of mega-corporations the result is the opposite; the growth of competition is stifled and small to medium businesses will never be able to compete with the giants that have already garnered government protection.

It’s interesting to me that the political left, which was once supposedly anti-big business, is now suddenly so enamored with corporate oligarchy to the point that they rabidly defend it as long as those companies espouse woke rhetoric. What this confirms is something that conservatives have always known — That leftists don’t have any concrete principles or morals, they only care about winning no matter the cost.

I 2020 I published an article suggesting a potential solution to Big Tech and woke corporate censorship of conservative ideas: That solution would be for conservative state governments to take away the very incentives and subsidies that they often use to entice these businesses into setting up shop within their borders. That is to say, all they have to do is take away the special goodies that these corporations never should have been handed in the first place.

At the time, I thought that no state government would actually have the guts to carry out such a strategy, but things have changed. Corporations like Disney have now crossed the line into the realm of open indoctrination; asserting that they will upend any Florida law that prevent the sexualization and indoctrination of children into the leftist fold. Disney picked a fight; they strutted around as if they owned the state, and now they are paying the price by losing the very subsidies that made them successful.

This in itself is not the overt use of government power as a means to oppress the rights of businesses. These corporations have no right to such subsidies and they are not entitled to special treatment. Taking it away is not a violation of any business’ rights or of private property rights. Subsidies are something that certain corporations have come to expect, and maybe that should change.

In my recent article on Elon Musk’s ongoing plan to buy out the leftist hive mind known as Twitter, I made this argument:

Twitter slaps 'unsafe' warning label on firearms news website The Reload
[FoxNews] Social media giant Twitter slapped a warning on links to firearms news outlet The Reload, before removing the label several hours later Saturday.

Stephen Gutowski, founder of The Reload, said Saturday his website was being unfairly labeled "unsafe" by Twitter. Gutowski, and others offered screenshots showing a pop-up warning about the site when clicked.

"Why is Twitter blocking The Reload? We were just cited by nearly every news outlet in the country for breaking news on President Biden's handling of the ATF," Gutowski wrote on social media Saturday morning. "The site is operating normally. What is going on?"

Around 11 a.m. ET, Gutowski began telling social media followers that Twitter had fixed the issue and The Reload was no longer being labeled as a potentially "unsafe" site. Users reported the ability to access the site without the pop-up message.

ISIS claims Nigerian bar bomb that injures 11
Follow up to this report from yesterday.
[AlAhram] Explosives planted at a bar in northeast Nigeria
... a particularly crimson stretch of Islam's bloody border...
injured 11 people, police said Saturday, the second attack in days targeting drinking spots in Taraba state and claimed by affiliates of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group.

The blast went off at a moonshine bar in Nukkai, outside state capital Jalingo around 1900 GMT on Friday, police front man Usman Abdullahi, told AFP.

"The explosive concealed in a polythene bag was left at the bar by an unknown person during a power outage," he said.

"Eleven people were maimed in the blast, including 10 men and a woman."

On Saturday, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) grabbed credit.

"The soldiers of the caliphate detonated an bomb... inside a bar in Nukkai," the group said on Telegram, claiming the attack maimed 10 people.

On Tuesday, a kaboom at a bar in the nearby town of Iware killed six people and injured 16 others, police said.

ISWAP claimed that blast in a statement posted on IS propaganda channels monitored by SITE Intelligence.

That was the first indication that ISWAP is operating in Taraba, outside its habitual area of operations in the Lake Chad region.

Taraba is one of several northern states where criminal gangs, branded bandidos, raid villages, kill residents, loot and burn homes and kidnap for ransom.

There have been increasing concerns about growing ties between jihadists and bandidos who are motivated by financial motives with no ideological leaning.

ISWAP and rival Boko Haram
...Nigeerian Islamist group, formerly paying homage to al-Qaeda, then, when the money ran out, to the Islamic State, and headed by nutcase Abu Bakr Shekau. Once he exploded in a gunfight with ISWAP, many in the group surrendered to the govt and others went with their new overlords. The remainder are a shell of their former selves, stmbling glassy-eyed and lonely through the Sambisa Forest and the soothing waters of Lake Chad, asking themselves What is truth?, or maybe just I wonder what's for dinner? I hope it's not rhinocerous again! ...
are known to step up attacks during the Moslem holy month of Ramadan.

On Wednesday, ISWAP killed 11 people, including nine, at a bar in northeast Nigeria's Yobe state.
