The court's ruling prevents Biden from instituting the sort of sweeping emissions rules the EPA tried to implement under the Obama administration
The case declares it unlawful for federal agencies to make 'major' decisions without clear authorization from Congress
It appears to allow for regulations focused narrowly on capping pollution from smokestacks, but blocks wider rules that set state-by-state targets for emissions

The Guardian, typically, misreports this as "Supreme Court Hobbles Government Power To Limit Harmful Emissions". That's true unless you consider Congress to be a part of the federal government, which, really, it kind of is. The Court is saying that the correct part of the government to make changes this big is Congress, where even conservatives get a vote and politicians sometimes have to go on record.

[AmericanMilitaryNews] Chinese agents pretending to be concerned Texans executed an online disinformation campaign against a company building a rare earth minerals facility in Texas for the Department of Defense, the cybersecurity firm Mandiant revealed on Tuesday. The Pentagon later released a statement confirming Mandiant’s findings.
Mandiant found that agents for a pro-China disinformation campaign used fake social media accounts to cast doubt on Lynas Rare Earth Ltd. and other mining firms in an effort to weaken the rare earth minerals supply chain in the United States and elsewhere.
Lynas is the largest rare earth mining company in the world and currently has a contract with the Pentagon to build a facility in Texas.
Mandiant said Chinese actors lied about being local Texans online in order to stir up opposition to Lynas building a rare earth minerals plant in Texas. They used thousands of fake Twitter and Facebook accounts to claim the plant would cause permanent environmental damage, in addition to exposing residents to harmful contamination that could cause cancer, gene mutation and newborn deformities.
The accounts "promoted various narratives in support of the political interests of the People’s Republic of China (PRC)," Mandiant said.
"We observed accounts post primarily in English, with an additional lesser amount of content in Chinese," Mandiant said in a report on the campaign. "Additionally, we observed extremely limited messaging in Malay, and Dragonbridge accounts promoted photos of demonstrations against Lynas that took place in Malaysia sometime between 2012 and 2019, due to controversy surrounding the disposal of radioactive waste produced by its rare earths processing facility in the city of Kuantan." That must be the Thorium produced as a by-product of the mining. It can be used as a nuclear fuel.
"Dragonbridge" is a code name used by Mandiant to identify Chinese disinformation efforts.
Liu Pengyu, a Chinese Embassy spokesman, said that while he has not seen Mandiant’s report, he thinks it is the result of "forces in the world" that want to slander China.
"China is one of the biggest victims of disinformation," Liu said in an email, according to The Washington Times. "China always opposes the creation and dissemination of disinformation. There are some people and forces in the world who are keen to fabricate rumors, slander and discredit China."
The disinformation campaign comes as China moves to dominate the market for rare earth minerals, which are used in numerous tech productions, including smartphones, TVs, medical equipment, water treatment systems and more.
"DoD appreciates the diligence of Mandiant in identifying this disinformation campaign, and will continue to work with our partners to provide accurate information related to this and other supply chain investments," the Pentagon’s statement read.

Still working at 82? Appears he needs to re-look his financial planning program.
[LegalInsurrection] Justice Breyer announced he is hanging up his robe tomorrow.
From Fox News:
Supreme Court ...the political football known as The Highest Court in the Land, home of penumbrae and emanations... Justice Stephen Breyer has announced that he will step down from the high court effective Thursday at noon.
Breyer, who notified President Joe Biden ...... 46th president of the U.S. A latter-day version of Romulus Augustulus, only more friendly to the barbarians at the gates...... in January of his intent to retire at the end of the current term, updated the president in a letter Wednesday, after the Supreme Court made it known that it will issue its final opinions of the term Thursday morning.
"The Court has announced that tomorrow, beginning at 10 a.m., it will hand down all remaining opinions ready during this Term. Accordingly, my retirement from active service under the provisions of 28 U.S.C. § 371(b) will be effective on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at noon," Breyer wrote.
That statute allows justices to retain their title but step down from active duty and continue to collect a salary if they reach a certain age and serve for a designated number of years. Breyer, who is 83, is well beyond the required 10 years of service for those who retire at age 70 or older, as he has served on the Supreme Court since 1994.
"It has been my great honor to participate as a judge in the effort to maintain our Constitution and the Rule of Law," Breyer wrote.
Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson will replace Breyer on the bench. Lord help us.
Hershel "Woody" Williams, the last living Medal of Honor winner from World War II, has died at age 98.
Citation:
For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty as demolition sergeant serving with the 21st Marines, 3d Marine Division, in action against enemy Japanese forces on Iwo Jima, Volcano Islands, 23 February 1945. Quick to volunteer his services when our tanks were maneuvering vainly to open a lane for the infantry through the network of reinforced concrete pillboxes, buried mines, and black volcanic sands, Cpl. Williams daringly went forward alone to attempt the reduction of devastating machinegun fire from the unyielding positions. Covered only by 4 riflemen, he fought desperately for 4 hours under terrific enemy small-arms fire and repeatedly returned to his own lines to prepare demolition charges and obtain serviced flamethrowers, struggling back, frequently to the rear of hostile emplacements, to wipe out 1 position after another. On 1 occasion, he daringly mounted a pillbox to insert the nozzle of his flamethrower through the air vent, killing the occupants and silencing the gun; on another he grimly charged enemy riflemen who attempted to stop him with bayonets and destroyed them with a burst of flame from his weapon. His unyielding determination and extraordinary heroism in the face of ruthless enemy resistence were directly instrumental in neutralizing one of the most fanatically defended Japanese strong points encountered by his regiment and aided vitally in enabling his company to reach its objective. Cpl. Williams’ aggressive fighting spirit and valiant devotion to duty throughout this fiercely contested action sustain and enhance the highest traditions of the U.S. Naval Service.
"It staggers the mind to think of what sort of bravery, and there isn’t a man of any age who reads that who does not wonder, “Could I have done that if I was called upon to do so?”
God bless him. What a life. What a patriot. What an American."

My father was in the South Pacific during WWII in the Army, not the Marines. A lot of people died on those islands by many causes. The ones that survived had to be ruthless in battle. He showed no mercy and was threatened with court marshal for pouring a 5 gallon can of gas he got off of an officers jeep followed by a sack of grenades down a vent in a bunker of 100 jap soldiers who were picking of his men and had blocked all bunket openings with their mattresses to prevent incoming rounds.
General Swift came to his rescue as he asked the lieutenant what was the difference between that and using a flame thrower?
That one act of his killed all 100 japs from the blast and intense smoke inhalation in the bunker.
His group took out 10,000 Japs by sinking 3 large troop transports who had just anchored in a harbor unloading reinforcements into small boats. His men took the harbor shore batteries and kept flying the rising sun flags knowing the three transports were about to arrive per US intelligence.
Two of quite a few events of his groups battle experiences.
During those battles all of his teeth were ground down to the guns from sleeping with stress, two flesh wounds, one bayonet wound from hand to hand combat, and hair singed from his units outgoing artillery fire in close quarter battle formations. They had more artillery than the Marine units had.
When I was a kid a guy showed up one day without both legs from the knee down and wanted to see my father. My mother called my father at work to tell him he had a visitor and when she told him his name. My father told her to ask him to wait outside, lock the doors and get a gun, he was on his way home as fast as he could get there.
When he arrived he thanked my father for not killing him and apologized for when he spun a huge 50 caliber machine gun around and started trying to shoot his own people when he went crazy during battle. My father could only see his legs behind the big gun now facing him and his people and shot them both out from under him.
He learned to be leary of not only Japs during battle but his own units. And he was quick to take out Japs and friendly fire on those islands to live though the South Pacific war.

Commentary bi Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin.
"You give us Zmeinny as a goodwill gesture, we'll shut up about Kremenchug." -- my speculation.
The RF Ministry of Defense announced https://t.me/boris_rozhin/55644 that as part of a "goodwill gesture" it will withdraw troops from Zmeinny Island to unblock Ukrainian ports for the withdrawal of grain.
Negotiations on this matter continued in Turkey for more than a month.
With regard to the withdrawal of troops from the Zmeinny Island, which is presented as a "step of good" will, all this is seen as part of behind-the-scenes agreements on the export of grain from Ukraine, negotiations on which have been dragging on for a long time in Turkey and progress on which was announced through the UN.
Goodwill here As for the military component of leaving Zmeinoye, which is hiding behind agreements in Turkey to unblock the export of grain, it is quite obvious that the attacks on the island (using Western guns and issues of ensuring the retention of the island (from the last, which was stated, a hit from the Pantsir air defense missile system last week).
It is obvious that this "goodwill gesture" will be presented as a success of the NATO weapons that have been fired at Zmeinny since May and, accordingly, serve as a motivation for further increasing supplies in order to achieve new "goodwill gestures" - the wording is, of course, complete atas.
Also, all the targeting coordinates have been carefully mapped.

[American Mil News] The USS Montana was commissioned Saturday during a ceremony at a shipyard in Norfolk, Virginia, making it the first Navy ship named after the Treasure State in more than 100 years.
"Today the USS Montana is tested and battle ready," Chris Jessel, executive officer of the submarine, said as more than 100 Montanans sat in the audience at Naval Station Norfolk.
The $2.6 billion Virginia-class nuclear-powered submarine will add the next generation of stealth, surveillance and special warfare capabilities to the Navy fleet, officials said.
Gov. Greg Gianforte spoke as he stood near a banner for the submarine that read: "Vigilantes of the deep," a nickname adopted by the crew in an homage to the state’s period of vigilante justice in the 1800s.
"Now more than ever, American strength on the world stage is needed," he said. "Today, the world’s most powerful, advanced and capable Navy adds to its fleet one of the most sophisticated submarines ever built."
Gianforte said missions conducted on the USS Montana SSN 794 will make the nation and world more secure. He hoped the submarine’s crew members would draw strength from the state’s value of resilience, talking about recent flooding that ravaged communities.
"I am proud, honored and humbled you will carry that resilience to all corners of the world in the service of our nation," he said, adding he knew the submarine would live up to its name.

With the retirement of the Iowa Class battleships, state names mainly went to Ohio Class SSBNs. But not entirely. SSBN-730 is the USS Henry M. Jackson. The Ohio, Michigan, Florida and Georgia were converted to SSGNs, in part to meet treaty requirements.

[IsraelTimes] Citing Iranian and Israeli defense officials, The New York Times says Brig.-Gen. Ali Nasiri, who served in the IRGC’s Protection of Information Unit, was detained earlier this month
A senior general in Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corp was secretly arrested earlier this month for allegedly spying for Israel, according to a report published Wednesday by New York Times
... which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... Citing officials with close ties to the IRGC speaking on condition of anonymity ... for fear of being murdered... , the report said the arrest of Brig.-Gen. Ali Nasiri marked a growing level of distrust among the country’s big shotship partly attributed to Israel’s alleged recent operations in the country.
Nasiri served as a senior commander in the IRGC Protection of Information Unit, The New York Times reported. His arrest came about two months after a few dozen security officials involved in Iran’s missile program were arrested for allegedly leaking classified information to Israel, the newspaper said.
Reportedly arrested sometime in early June, Nasiri’s arrest came shortly before the replacement of the IRGC’s intelligence chief Hossein Taeb. Taeb, who held the position for more than 12 years, had been tasked with exposing Israel’s spy network in Iran, an unnamed adviser to the Iranian government and an individual affiliated with the IRGC both told the Times.
Taeb’s downfall is seen by some as a prime example of the long-running campaign by Israel to expose failures by the IRGC by allegedly stepping up attacks against Iran’s nuclear facilities in recent months and targeting high-level officials inside Iranian territory — all meant to generate conflict between the political and defense establishments in Iran, Israeli officials told the newspaper. The Times reported that Taeb had "seemed untouchable" before a number of recent high-profile killings blamed on Israel and before the apparently foiled Iranian plan to attack Israelis in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund... Israeli intelligence officials who requested anonymity told the newspaper that the thwarting by Israeli and Ottoman Turkish security forces of the plot had proved the final straw for officials, who abruptly removed Taeb from his position. Jerusalem reportedly told Ankara that Taeb was behind the planned attacks.
But the report also said calls for Taeb to be ousted had already been voiced following the arrest of Nasiri and the suspicion of his alleged contact with Israel.
Iran ...Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979... and Israel have been engaged in a years-long shadow war but tensions have ratcheted up following a string of high-profile incidents Tehran has blamed on Jerusalem. A number of members of the IRGC and scientists have been killed in recent weeks, with Iran often pointing the finger at Israel. Iran reportedly suspects Israel killed two Iranian scientists several weeks ago by poisoning their food. The details of the men’s work, the circumstances of their deaths and their ties to the government remain unclear.
[IsraelTimes] NYT: Israeli distrust-sowing moves see Revolutionary Guard intel chief ousted after foiled Turkey plot, senior officer nabbed; Israel ‘infiltrated deep’ into Iran security circles
Israel has deeply infiltrated and drastically shaken Iranian intelligence operations in recent months, a senior Iranian official told the New York Times.
The report published Wednesday cited the recent ousting of the intelligence chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the secret arrest of a senior commander accused of spying for Israel as examples of the growing levels of distrust in Iran.
Mohammad Ali Abtahi, a former vice president of Iran ...The nation is noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence... who lives in Tehran and still maintains close ties with brass hats, told the newspaper that Israeli operations had seriously damaged trust within the country’s security establishment.
"The security breaches inside Iran and the vast scope of operations by Israel have really undermined our most powerful intelligence organization," he said.
"The strength of our security has always been the bedrock of the Islamic Theocratic Republic and it has been damaged in the past year," Abtahi said, telling the newspaper that the Iranian defense establishment would now be looking for a new approach.
The report said that unnamed Iranian officials also admitted that "Israel’s spy network has infiltrated deep into the rank and file of Iran’s security circles."
Iranian officials with knowledge of Nasiri’s detention said he was placed in jug earlier this month, around two months after a wave of arrests in which several dozen Iranian Defense Ministry employees were arrested on suspicion of leaking classified materials to Israel.
The report said the leaked information included the design blueprints of missiles.
Taeb was a trusted ally of Iranian Lord High Potentate and Supreme Leader of All He Surveys Ayatollah Ali Khamenei ...the very aged actual dictator of Iran, successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini... , and prior to his appointment in the IRGC was notorious for his role in brutal crackdowns on protestors.

[IsraelTimes] Salah Abdeslam, the chief suspect in the case, faces up to life in prison without parole, the toughest sentence possible under La Belle France’s justice system
A French court has found 19 men guilty of terrorism-related charges for the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... terrorist attacks on the Bataclan theater, Gay Paree cafes and La Belle France’s national stadium in 2015. The deadliest peacetime attacks in French history killed 130 people.
Presiding judge Jean-Louis Peries was rendering the verdict Wednesday in a courthouse surrounded by unprecedented security, wrapping up an exceptional, nine-month trial. The chief suspect, Salah Abdeslam, was found guilty of murder and attempted murder in relation with a terrorist enterprise, among other charges.
Over the course of the extraordinary trial, the lone survivor of the Islamic State holy warrior team that attacked Gay Paree in 2015 has proclaimed his radicalism, wept, apologized to victims and pleaded with judges to forgive his "mistakes."
For victims’ families and survivors of the attacks, the trial for Abdeslam and suspected accomplices has been excruciating yet crucial in their quest for justice and closure. Abdeslam faces up to life in prison without parole on murder and other counts, the toughest sentence possible under La Belle France’s justice system.
For months, the packed main chamber and 12 overflow rooms in the 13th-century Justice Palace heard the harrowing accounts by the victims, along with testimony from Abdeslam. The other defendants are largely accused of helping with logistics or transportation. At least one is accused of a direct role in the deadly March 2016 attacks in Brussels, which also was claimed by the Islamic State group.
La Belle France was changed in the wake of the attacks: Authorities declared a state of emergency and armed officers now constantly patrol public spaces. The violence sparked soul-searching among the French and Europeans, since most of the attackers were born and raised in La Belle France or Belgium.
Fourteen of the defendants have been in court, including Abdeslam, the only survivor of the 10-member attacking team that terrorized Gay Paree that Friday night. All but one of the six absent men are presumed to have been killed in Syria or Iraq; the other is in prison in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor... Most of the suspects are accused of helping create false identities, transporting the attackers back to Europa ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... from Syria or providing them with money, phones, explosives or weapons.
Abdeslam, a 32-year-old Belgian with Moroccan roots, was the only defendant tried on several counts of murder and kidnapping as a member of a terrorist organization.
The sentence sought for Abdeslam of life in prison without parole has only been pronounced four times in La Belle France — for crimes related to rape and murder of minors.
Prosecutors are seeking life sentences for nine other defendants. The remaining suspects were tried on lesser terrorism charges and face sentences ranging from five to 30 years.
In closing arguments, prosecutors stressed that all 20 defendants, who had fanned out around the French capital, armed with semi-automatic rifles and explosives-packed vests to mount parallel attacks, are members of the Islamic State holy warrior group responsible for the massacres.
"Not everyone is a jihadi, but all of those you are judging accepted to take part in a terrorist group, either by conviction, cowardliness or greed," prosecutor Nicolas Braconnay told the court this month.
During his testimony, former President Francois Hollande ...the Socialist president of La Belle France, an economic bad joke for la Belle France but seemingly a foreign policy realist... dismissed claims that his government was at fault.
The Islamic State, "this pseudo-state, declared war with the weapons of war," Hollande said. The Gay Paree attackers did not terrorize, shoot, kill, maim and traumatize civilians because of religion, he said, adding it was "fanaticism and barbarism."
The night of the attack was a balmy Friday evening, with the city’s bars and restaurants packed. At the Bataclan concert venue, the American band Eagles of Death Metal were playing to a full house. At the national stadium, a soccer match between La Belle France and Germany had just begun, attended by then-President Hollande and then-Chancellor Angela Merkel ...chancellor of Germany and the impetus behind Germany's remarkably ill-starred immigration program. Merkel used to be referred to by Germans as Mom. Now they make faces at her for inundating the country with Moslem colonists... The sound of the first suicide kaboom at 9:16 p.m. barely carried over the noise of the stadium’s crowd. The second came four minutes later. A squad of button menshot up several bars and restaurants in another part of Gay Paree. That bloodshed outside came to an end at 9:41 p.m.
Worse was to follow. At 9:47 p.m., three more button men burst into the Bataclan, firing indiscriminately. Ninety people died within minutes. Hundreds were held hostage — some gravely injured — inside the concert hall for hours before Hollande, watching people covered in blood make their way out of the Bataclan, ordered it stormed.
Abdeslam was silent for years, refusing to speak to Sherlocks. In April, his words started flowing, in testimony that at times contradicted earlier statements, including on his loyalty to the Islamic State.
He told the court that he was a last-minute addition to the group. He said he "renounced" his mission to detonate his explosives-packed vest in a bar in northern Gay Paree that night. He hid out at first near Gay Paree, and then fled with friends to Brussels, where he was arrested four months later.
Prosecutors emphasized contradictions in Abdeslam’s testimony — from pledging allegiance to the Islamic State at the start of the trial and expressing regret that his explosives strapped to his body failed to detonate, to claiming he had changed his mind in the bar and deliberately disabled his vest because he did not want to kill people "singing and dancing."
During closing arguments Monday, Abdelslam’s lawyer Olivia Ronen told a panel of judges that her client is the only one in the group of attackers who didn’t set off explosives to kill others that night. He can’t be convicted for murder, she argued.
"If a life sentence without hope for ever experiencing freedom again is pronounced, I fear we have lost a sense of proportion," Ronan said. She emphasized through the trial that she is "not providing legitimacy to the attacks" by defending her client in court.
Abdeslam apologized to the victims at his final court appearance Monday, saying his remorse and sorrow is heartfelt and sincere. Listening to victims’ accounts of "so much suffering" changed him, he said.
"I have made mistakes, it’s true, but I am not a murderer, I am not a killer," he said.

While our little Kurdish Iranian jihadi is enduring his two weeks isolation in jail, more is revealed.
[Rudaw] Kurds in Norway condemned Saturday’s fatal shooting in Oslo’s nightlife district that killed two people and left more than 20 dead in what Norwegian security services labeled as an "Islamist terror act."
In the morning hours of Saturday on Oslo’s Rosenkrantz Street, a man wearing a yellow t-shirt opened fire near the popular LGBT+ bar London Pub in the Norwegian capital, killing two and injuring dozens others.
The shooter was arrested shortly after and identified as 43-year-old Zaniar Matapour, a Norwegian citizen originally from Iran’s western Kurdish Region, also referred to as Rojhelat.
Born in the city of Sina, Matapour and his family migrated to Pakistain in the late 1980s where they sought asylum through a United Nations ...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks... High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) program that sent them to Norway.
"Zaniar’s [Matapour] family is known in Sina for being virtuous and unproblematic. He and his siblings studied in Norway and have graduated from engineering and medical universities. Zaniar’s father was like-minded with one of the parties in Rojhelat [western Iran], but did not actively join the organizations," a Kurdish resident in Oslo, who preferred to remain anonymous, told Rudaw earlier this week.
Soon after Matapour was arrested, the police stated that the attack had a "radical Islamic" background with a history of mental illness.
The incident angered Kurds in Norway.
"As a human being, I condemn it, and as Kurd, I condemn it as well," said Hoshang Younisi, a Norwegian resident from western Iran.
"What can make things easier for Kurds ... is an organization which is separated from all personal opinions and announces a shared national and humanitarian stance towards those who have violated the liberties of others at times like this," he added.
Masoud Nasiri, the spokesperson of the Kurdish diaspora center in Norway, stated that Kurds in Norway in general "oppose" the attack, adding that they have attempted to demonstrate to the Norwegian community that Kurds have long struggled against terror and tyranny and fought for democratic values.
There are an estimated 25,000 to 30,000 Kurds in Norway, most fleeing their homes because of war or political instability.
The suspect has a criminal record with Oslo’s security and has been previously arrested for cases of narcotics and violence, and once tossed in the clink Please don't kill me! for a period of nearly three months.
"According to the investigations, the suspect will be convicted. But it is still not confirmed whether this case will be treated in accordance with terror law or another law," said Sayran Ahmad, a criminal lawyer in Norway.
London Pub, a highly coveted spot in the Norwegian capital where acquiring reservations is extremely challenging, has been a hub of Oslo’s LGBT+ community since the late 1970s. A mural in the pub’s basement reads: "The main headquarters of gay men since 1979."
Nothing like looking like a target to a certain kind of colonist...
"We will open up the pub again as to say that hatred and grudge cannot stop us," said the proprietor of the pub, who preferred to be simply referred to as Owner of London.
[Rudaw] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... said on Wednesday it will renew demand from Sweden and Finland to extradite over 30 Ottoman Turkish nationals who are wanted for alleged terror links but live in both Nordic countries which on Tuesday made compromises to Ankara in return of its support to for their NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A collection of multinational and multilingual and multicultural armed forces, all of differing capabilities, working toward a common goal by pulling in different directions... membership.

In a harsh tone, Sadr in a tweet said it is "very, very shameful that the so-called President of the Republic of Iraq (Barham) ... refuses to sign the law" criminalizing relations with Israel.
Sadr added that it would be "shameful" for Iraqis to have a president who supports normalizing ties with Israel and is "unpatriotic and affiliated with the west or east."
A spokesperson for Salih said in a statement later in the day that the President had approved the law as it was sent by the parliament "without having any notes" and ordered its publication on the Official Gazette.
The statement added that Salih has "always" supported the Paleostinian cause.
The Iraqi parliament on May 26 passed a bill criminalizing ties with Israel, marking the act as a crime punishable by death. The bill requires almost all officials, including those in Kurdistan Region, government institutions, and media to refrain from establishing relations with Israel.
Sadr at the time called on the Iraqi people to take to the streets in celebration of what he called a "great achievement."
The law must be signed by the president, according to the Iraqi constitution. However, corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds... if he fails to do so then it would nonetheless take effect within 15 days.
The passage of the bill put Salih in a puzzle that came amid severe political tensions that have engulfed Iraq. The current president is running for a second term for the post.
"I absolve myself of his crime in front of God and the Iraqi people," Sadr added saying he "regrets" Salih’s previous and subsequent candidacy for the presidency post.
The normalization of ties with Israel as part of the Abraham Accords is a US-led joint Middle East peace initiative. Four countries - the United Arab Emirates, Sudan, Bahrain, and Morocco - have announced normalization agreements with Israel, with America's support.
A conference in September advocating for Iraq to join the agreement was met with widespread condemnation and criticism from the public and officials.

[Rudaw] The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has "complete information" on the party behind the recent rocket attacks on the Region’s key gas field in Sulaimani province, deputy prime minister said on Wednesday.
Three rockets struck the Khor Mor gas field in Sulaimani’s Chamchamal district in a matter of four days, the latest being on Saturday. The KRG Prime Minister has said he is "deeply troubled" by the strikes and the US has called for an investigation into the attacks.
The KRG held its weekly meeting on Wednesday, discussing a range of topics, including the attacks on the gas block. According to a statement from the government, Deputy PM Qubad Talabani told the cabinet members that the perpetrators have been identified.
"We have full information about the perpetrators of attacks on Khor Mor gas field and a detailed investigation has been carried out to take measures against them," Talabani was quoted in the KRG statement as saying. "The attacks have targeted the expansion project in Khor Mor field rather than the part which produces gas."
The UAE-based Dana Gas, which runs the gas field, said in a statement on Monday that it has temporarily suspended the work on the expansion of Khor Mor gas station following the attacks.
The KM 250 project is the first stage of a two-train expansion project at the field that aims to boost total production capacity to over 1 billion cubic feet per day by 2024. Work at the plant resumed in April of last year after it was halted due to the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague) ...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men... pandemic.
Khor Mor field produces 452 million standard cubic feet of gas per day, according to Dana Gas.
No group has grabbed credit for the three rocket attacks.
[KhaamaPress] The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s front man Zabihullah Mujahid has announced that the grand assembly of the Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... is set to take place tomorrow, Thursday, in Kabul at the Loya Jirga hall.
The assembly, reportedly, will bring together 3,000 tribal elders, influential figures, and Ulema to Kabul from all over the country.
The Taliban leadership convenes the assembly of Islamic holy mans at the Ulema’s repeated request, a senior Taliban official, Zabihullah Mujahid previously stated on his Twitter account without mentioning a specific date.
Many organizations and groups, including Human Rights Watch, the National Resistance® Front, and political analysts, are concerned about the Taliban’s Grand Assembly’s participants.
Heather Barr, the co-director of Human Rights Watch’s division for women’s rights, no other groupss will be allowed to speak during the Taliban Jirga, and participants from all groups, including will not be there. She emphasized that a decision-making body excluding women will not be legitimate.
The National Resistance® Front’s Council of Ulema, released a statement on Tuesday claiming that the participants of the gathering will be the Taliban loyalists and will not speak for the Afghan people.
Anas Haqqani, the Interior Minister of the Taliban government, said this previously on two separate occasions, that the issue of the reopening of the girls’ schools will be discussed by a gathering of the holy mans.
There are no indications, however, of what the upcoming assembly of the holy mans will discuss.
Hanafi said that the gathering will be attended by clerics, influential figures, political figures and national businesspeople.
“They will discuss Afghan issues: national unity, nationwide security and stabilization and other issues. Once they sit together, the results will be shared,” he said.
Hanafi said a range of topics such as the Islamic system, independence, national unity, and economic and social issues will be discussed at the gathering.
He said that there are no obstacles for participation of young people, but he did not mention if any women would be participating in the gathering.
This comes as Jamiat-e-Islami
...not The Islamic Society founded in Lahore in 1941 that opposed the independence of Bangladesh and is associated with the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaeda, but the primarily Tajik party whose militant arm used to be the Northern Alliance and in the current generation is called the National Resistance Front (NRF)....
in a statement downplayed the gathering as symbolic and said that holding the gathering will not bring any benefit for countering the current crisis.
[KhaamaPress] Taliban’s religious scholar and tribal elders grand gathering, which is to be held tomorrow at the Loya Jirga Hall in Kabul, will convene without the participation of women, said the deputy prime minister of the Taliban, Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, on Wednesday.
Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, the deputy prime minister of the Taliban, in an interview with the state run National Television, stated that the meeting will be attended by over 3,000 religious scholars, tribal elders, intellectuals, influential figures and national traders on Thursday.
When prompted whether women could attend the Taliban’s grand gathering, deputy minister Hanafi responded that male delegates would speak on their behalf.
“The women are our mothers, sisters, we greatly respect them, when their sons are in the gathering it signifies that they are also involved, in a way, in the gathering,” he said.
The senior Taliban official responded that the assembly was called at the Ulema’s request and that the Taliban organized it so that they could discuss a variety of topics, including but not limited to the Islamic regime, national unity, and the improvement of economic and social affairs, to the question regarding the gathering’s agenda.
The top Taliban official expressed hope as he said that the group expects a positive outcome from the gathering and that more of these events would be arranged in the future.
According to civil society groups, if women are not present, the gathering will not be legitimate.
However, it still remains unclear what issues would be discussed at the gathering and whether the issue of reopening girls’ schools and women rights are included in the agenda.
[ToloNews] Following the arrival of other former government officials and political figures, Habibullah Ahmadzai, the former president's adviser, and Hasibullah Kalimzai, the Senate's second deputy, as well as a cancer specialist named Abdul Wardak all returned today.
"Afghanistan is our homeland and we cannot live without it. Our dignity is in this homeland. those friends who are abroad believe that they should return to the country," said Habibullah Ahmadzai, adviser to the former president.
"In my opinion, those who have committed crimes shouldn't be forgiven and should be held accountable, including us," said Habibullah Kalimzai, former 2nd deputy leader of the Senate.
"I was in the profession of teaching physicians. I specialize in cancer operations. Now that I have come to the country, I’ll see what I can do," said Abdullah Wardak, physician.
Meanwhile, ...back at the wreckage, Captain Poindexter wished he had a cup of coffee. Even instant would do... officials of the "Commission for the Return and Communications with Former Afghan Officials and Political Figures" said that a number of other former government figures will return to the country in the near future.
"The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has its own norms and processes in the area of governance, and anyone returning to the country in accordance with those procedures may engage in political activity," said Mawlawi Zaker, head of the Secretariat of the Commission.
According to data from the "Commission for the Return and Communications with Former Afghan Officials and Political Figures," more than 150 political figures have already returned to the country.
[ToloNews] Ahmad Khan Ahmadzai, the former police commander of Bagram district of Parwan province, and two of his family members have been detained by Islamic Emirate forces, relatives claimed.
The family claimed that Ahmadzai, his son, and his nephew, were arrested over one week ago.
"I opened the door, they tied my hands, when my father came out, they arrested him and then my brother," said Bahram, 14, son of Ahmadzai.
"If he was responsible for anything, he would not stay here. He was retired five years ago," said Shah Agha, a relative.
Other reports were published about the violation of the general amnesty and the detention of former military officials, but the Islamic Emirate always denied the reports.
"They detained him and his younger son and they arrested his other son and nephew as well," said Sayed Muhammad Khateb, head of Alljahad seminary.
TOLOnews was unable to obtain a comment from the Islamic Emirate about this issue.
"Targeting military leaders has become routine. We can clearly see the detentions, execution, and extra-judicial courts," said Asef Nang, a military analyst.
Ahmad Ahmadzai is a resident of Robat village in Bagram distract of Parwan province. He retired five years before the fall of the former government.
[KhaamaPress] Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai, has dispatched emergency relief planes to deliver life-saving humanitarian aid to Kabul in order to assist hundreds of thousands of people in the areas of Afghanistan devastated by last week’s catastrophic earthquake.
UAE State news agency WAM said on Wednesday that a cargo flight from Dubai to Kabul took out on Tuesday carrying 24.5 metric tonnes of essential medicines, medical supplies, and cholera kits that were provided by the WHO.
A senior UAE health official, Giuseppe Saba was quoted by Alarabiya News agency that “The [International Humanitarian City] IHC [in Dubai], under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is accelerating the rapid response of the international humanitarian community as it rallies to come to the aid of those impacted by the disaster.”
As a result of the earthquake, the landlocked country in Southern Asia, Afghanistan, needs immediate humanitarian assistance. There are also concerns about the possibility of a cholera breakout in addition to the already severe humanitarian situation in the southeast earthquake-stricken region of Afghanistan.
More than 1,000 people were killed and tens of thousands were left homeless by the high magnitude earthquake that struck on Wednesday.
The consignment comes at a time when another 30 tonnes of humanitarian assistance, including essential food supplies, were supplied by the UAE last week.
[KhaamaPress] According to the United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s announcement on Tuesday, the United States would provide Afghanistan immediate assistance amounting $55 million in response to the devastating earthquake that struck last week in a remote part of the country’s southeast.
The high magnitude earthquake that hit the region close to the Afghanistan’s border with Pakistan on June 22 left at least 1,000 people dead, over 3,000 more wounded, and 10,000 homes in ruins.
According to a statement from Blinken, the new US aid will be used to provide cooking equipment, water water containers, blankets, clothing, and other items, including hygienic supplies to stop an outbreak of waterborne diseases, to those affected by the calamity.
In a tweet, secretary Blinken stated on Tuesday, 28th June, “The U.S. will provide additional humanitarian assistance of nearly $55 million to Afghans affected by the June 22 earthquake. Our support to the Afghan people in working with USAID and partners is vital during this difficult time.”
He stated that the earthquake “intensified the ongoing humanitarian crisis that the Afghan people have long endured.”
After the UN issued an emergency plea for $110 million to support more than 360,000 Afghans devastated by last week’s earthquake in the provinces of Paktika and Khost, the US announcement came merely hours later.
In addition to causing deaths and injuries, the earthquake also destroyed homes, hospitals, schools, and water networks, leaving thousands of people vulnerable to more suffering, according to the UN statement.
[KhaamaPress] The United Nations announced on Tuesday that it had started an emergency appeal for $110 million to aid hundreds of thousands of people in parts of Afghanistan devastated by last week’s catastrophic earthquake.
Homes were destroyed and landslides were started when a high magnitude earthquake hit villages in the mountainous Paktika and Khost provinces on June 22. The earthquake caused at least 1,150 fatalities and hundreds of injuries. Over 10,000 homes were destroyed, leaving the people homeless.
The UN agency for humanitarian affairs announced that UNOCHA and its partners have issued an appeal for $110 million to support 362,000 people urgently over the course of the following three months in the worst-affected regions of Paktika and Khost provinces.
The Central Emergency Response Fund has released $10 million to support the earthquake response as of last Friday, or June 25th, according to Martin Griffiths, the Emergency Relief Coordinator.
The UN statement notes that the earthquake not only resulted in fatalities and injuries, but it also devastated homes, hospitals, schools, and water networks, leaving thousands of people susceptible to additional suffering.
The UN appeal for additional aid comes at a time when another aftershock, shook the earthquake-stricken, and impoverished villages of southeastern Khost and Paktika provinces.
[KhaamaPress] In a clash between "armed miscreants" from Afghanistan and Iranian border guards yesterday afternoon, an Iranian border guard was killed on the Afghan-Iranian border, according to Iran’s state news agency IRNA.
The clash that resulted in the death of an Iranian soldier, according to the Iranian news agency, was sparked by a number of armed miscreants who launched an attack on the Afghan-Iranian border on June 28th.
Although the Iranian source does not specifically mention the Taliban ...Arabic for students... forces when it refers to "armed miscreants," local Nimroz provincial sources claim that the Taliban entered the Iranian territory, after two Afghan boys were killed and injured by Iranian border guards, and clashed with them for an hour.
One of the Iranian border guards, Mohammad Sayadi, is alleged to have died in an armed encounter in the Hirmand county border region of the Sistan and Baluchestan province of Iran.
According to reports, the Iranian border guard who died in the armed confrontation is survived by his wife and daughter.
The conflict has not received any comments from Taliban officials yet.
The Taliban forces have often triggered armed festivities with the neighboring countries since seizing control of Afghanistan in mid-August of last year, particularly at the borders with Tajikistan, Iran, and Pakistain.
[Townhall] Every branch of military in the U.S. is struggling to recruit members under the Biden pentagon due to the Biden administration going to great lengths to implement wokeness across the military. Giving up meritocracy for a radical leftist social agenda, the Pentagon is scrabbling to meet its fiscal year 2022 recruitment goals.
According to NBC, the military recruitment has nosedived in 2022 leaving a record low of Americans either not eligible or not willing to consider ever serving for the U.S.
Center for Military Readiness President Elaine Donnelly said that President Joe Biden’s woke policies are to blame.
The culture of the military has been eroded by several years of social engineering and woke polices," Donnelly said, adding that "it’s been accelerated by the current administration."
Facing a long drought of recruiting, the military has not seen similar issues since 1973.
Biden prioritizing transgender, LGBTQ and race are the driving forces turning young Americans away from wanting to serve.
Donnelly said it send a "poor message" that discourages people from supporting the U.S.
"It sends a message that if your son or daughter joins the military, if they’re not of a certain skin complexion or sex, they might be investigated for extremism," Donnelly said, adding "They alienated their constituency."
This comes four months after Biden announced that nearly six million hours and $535,000 was spent indoctrinating the left’s "woke agenda" into the ranks.

Their 'woke' indoctrination is basically anti-American. So, why try defending it. They missed some fundamentals here. Now if you understand the Left, they've always accused our servicemembers as being just mercenaries. From that you get the disconnect and the head scratching why their program isn't working. Watch standards devolve (just like in education). One of those who served in the transition from draft to volunteer army, you're going to bring back the unmotivated, druggies, criminals, social misfits that command will spend 80% of its time dealing with rather than training. Better to have 6 men in a 10 squad who are trained and motivated than fill it in with the destructive distractions that destroy good morale and discipline.

I can see it now....women (if that's what we are calling them these days) who want an abortion will run off and join the military. GI Bill? Nah. Defend the nation? Definitely "nah".

There is a character named Coke Bottle Glasses in Phase Line Green that is indicative of the McNamara’s Morons stage of the Vietnam Era draft. The Civil War draft obliterated the readiness of solid units like The Iron Brigade and The Irish Brigade. I don’t even want to fathom what type of draftees our current degraded society might poop out. Certainly wouldn’t want woke people on my left and right even in peacetime operations.

The irony is the young folks of today could use some old style boot camp.
[Washington Examiner] NATO is putting Russia and any other "nuclear-armed peer-competitors" on notice that the trans-Atlantic alliance can and will retaliate against any nuclear attack.
The latest edition of the security bloc’s guiding strategic concept evinces a more muscular posture regarding NATO’s nuclear forces than the 2010 document, which characterized Russia as a "partner" just four years before the Kremlin seized Crimea from Ukraine. And the latest document implies that as North Atlantic allies send a stronger signal about threats from Russia’s nuclear threats, they also won’t fail to keep an eye on China’s nuclear arsenal.
"We have a wartime strategic concept, actually, not a peacetime one, so [we] want to use stronger language," a senior European official told the Washington Examiner. Like it wasn't clear before? Only a puff has to blowhard their way to respect. Grow a spine and be consistent.
The balance of nuclear military power emerged as a burning issue in the last several months, as Russian President Vladimir Putin has invoked Moscow’s arsenal to deter at least some Western support or intervention for Ukraine. His nuclear saber-rattling has spurred some European officials to wonder if Putin thinks he could win a limited nuclear war; the allies, for their part, asserted such a conflict would be a losing proposition for their enemies.

I seriously don't trust Bidet to nuke anyone back even if we get nuked. At this point I also have zero faith we have military leaders with enough spine to do anything other than their nails either.

All the Trump haters I know hoisted the blue and gold within hours, and were pretty darn excited about a nuclear exchange.
Everything Team Brandon has done has been an escalation; saw something about deploying the 101st and 35s into theater, in addition to the HIMAR transfer.
That bottled covid power; addictive stuff. Remember them all wetting their panties when some artillery was near Chernobyl and they were like NUkes! NUkes! WMDs!
[Breitbart] Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell admitted on Wednesday how little he understands soaring inflation.
"I think we now understand better how little we understand about inflation," Powell stated at the European Central Bank forum on central banking in Sintra, Portugal. "This was unpredicted," the expert admitted.
Powell is in charge of reducing President Biden’s 40-year-high inflation by a difficult process of increasing interest rates. By law, the Federal Reserve is charged with a dual mandate of pursuing maximum employment and stable prices.
"We believe we can do that. That is our aim," he said. "It’s gotten harder... the pathways have gotten narrower."
"The process is highly likely to involve some pain but the worst pain would be from failing to address this high inflation and allowing it to become persistent," he continued.

data not available for a few week but forecasts are that M1 will shrink quite a bit from 2022 Q1 to 2022 Q2
unfortunately a lot of inflation is baked in so a return to 2%/yr inflation (which is the Fed Reserve target) isn't likely until 2023 at best

Powell isn't responsible for what the Harris-Biden Administration has done. Powell can't drill for oil or drive a truck or open up more/better supply lines.
And this isn't a monetary inflation--yet. When you look at the velocity of M2 it's been decreasing despite all of the trillions "printed" by the Fed.

And remember when that numbskull Janet Yellen said on TV some months ago that she was monitoring inflation "closely". I wonder what size clown shoes that hack wears.

^^The M2V refers to tracking how often dollars are used to purchase DOMESTICALLY made goods and services within a certain time-frame.
People haven't been spending a lot of money since the second quarter of 2020 (for one mysterious reason or another). Something about massive layoffs around that time, too.
They're certainly not buying cars or other big-ticket domestically produced items at any great rate or going out to eat 2-3 times a week (at least in my neck of the woods and prairie).
Chinesium products from Wokemart aren't considered 'domestic'. Don't know about payments to advocacy groups, 'charities' or 'movements', however.
All this results in a lower frequency of currency usage for domestic goods and services.
You will notice that, on the FRED M2V chart 1YR tab, that 4th quarter 2021 did bump up some as it normally does around the holidays.
DooDahMan, I don't know for certain where all that extra printed cash went or how it was used, but I have some pretty good ideas.

When I was at the Libertarian Convention, I went to a Mises Caucus event and listened to Ron Paul speak. At 86 he was more coherent - and more interesting - to listen to than Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, or any of the rest of the octogenarian crowd in DC. (A low bar admittedly.)
One thing which he said which stuck with me was "Nobody running the Federal Reserve knows anything - especially about the Federal Reserve! Most of you in the crowd probably know more about the Federal Reserve than they do." Prescient words from one of our eldest eldest statesmen as it turns out.

[SARA] A Supreme Court ruling released Tuesday sides with an Iraq War Veteran, determining that states cannot be exempt from being sued for discrimination against Veterans. CNN reports "The ruling will strengthen work protections for thousands of state-employed veterans returning to work after service in the Reserves or National Guard."
LeRoy Torres enlisted in the US Army Reserve in 1989 and was an employee of the Texas Department of Public Safety as a state trooper before he was deployed to Iraq in 2007. While serving in the War, Torres suffered lung damage after being exposed to toxic chemicals in so called burn pits.
CNN reports that upon his return he sought reemployment, but told the agency he could no longer serve as a state trooper and sought a comparable job to accommodate his service-related disability. When he was denied the job, he filed suit under federal law but lost in state courts. He appealed the decision to the US Supreme Court.
Torres argued the DPS failing to offer him a job to accommodate his disability violated the federal Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994. The law — meant to protect veterans from employment discrimination — was passed under Congress’ power to "raise and support Armies."

In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah... claims Mohammed Marei as member; 13 wanted Paleostinians detained across West Bank
A Paleostinian man was reportedly rubbed out during festivities with Israeli forces who were conducting an arrest raid early Wednesday in Jenin.
According to the Israel Defense Forces, troops entered the northern West Bank city to detain two wanted Paleostinians.
"During the operation, IDF forces fired at several suspects who hurled bombs at them, and shooting was also heard in the area," the IDF said, adding that "hits were identified."
Paleostinian media reported that the man, Mohammed Maher Marei, died of his wounds shortly after being shot. The Paleostinian Islamic Jihad later claimed Marei as a member and images showed his body wrapped in the flag of the terror group.
Elsewhere in the West Bank, the IDF said troops fired at a Paleostinian who hurled stones at forces during the arrest of a wanted Paleostinian in the al-’Azza refugee camp near Bethlehem. A rifle was also seized in the camp, the IDF said.
In total, 13 Paleostinians suspected of "terror activities" were detained overnight, the military said.
[IsraelTimes] No security personnel hurt in alleged assault in Jerusalem’s Old City; suspect in his 20s from Bethlehem area detained at al-Aqsa Mosque compound
A Paleostinian man was detained Tuesday night on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City after he allegedly attempted to stab officers before fleeing the scene, police said.
Police closed off the entrances to the Temple Mount and other areas of the Old City immediately after the suspect, a resident of the Bethlehem area in his 20s, fled after he attempted to stab police guarding one of the gates.
According to police, no officers were hurt in the alleged attack.
Video footage showed officers taking the suspect for further questioning following his arrest near at the al-Aqsa Mosque compound, which sits atop the Temple Mount.
A knife allegedly used in the attack was also found in the area, police said.
Paleostinian media reports said officers had gun sex during the attack. Police later said the shooting was amid an unrelated incident nearby, where an armed civilian had gun sex after a man used pepper spray against passersby. That suspect — who police said was apparently suffering from mental illness — was detained.
[IsraelTimes] Belgian police arrest civilian suspects who brewed ecstasy around the corner from thermonuclear warheads on American base
Belgian police raided an illegal lab producing the rave drug ecstasy on an airbase that reputedly houses part of the US nuclear arsenal in Europe, Sherlocks said Tuesday.
Two suspects — not military personnel — were arrested during the raid, according to a spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office in the Belgian province of Limburg.
The Kleine-Brogel base in northeast Belgium is best known for housing a stock of US nuclear weapons.
Belgian officials are discreet about the deployment, having briefly confirmed its role in the 1980s, but in 2019 a Green MP told parliament that US forces hold ten to 20 warheads there.
Prosecutors said that local police had discovered the drug lab on military land on June 22 and that it had been dismantled by specialist federal officers.
The lab was found to produce MDMA, a synthetic recreational drug most commonly known as ecstasy.
The Kleine-Brogel airbase is often a target of Belgian anti-nuclear and anti-NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all.... protesters.
It is in a rural area between the port city of Antwerp and the border with Germany’s industrial heartland, an area dotted by labs and hideouts used by international narco gangs.
[NYPOST] Long Island Congressman Lee Zeldin clinched the Republican nomination for governor Tuesday, handily winning the party primary against former White House staffer Andrew Giuliani, businessman Harry Wilson and ex-Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino.
"Are we ready to fire Kathy Hochul?" he asked a crowd of supporters as he gave a victory speech just before 11 p.m.
"For us, we believe that public service is about serving the public," he added. "Kathy Hochul has been acting as if the public has been there to serve her."
Zeldin held a roughly 43% to 23% lead over Giuliani with more than 60% of the votes counted. Astorino was in third at 19% and Wilson at 15%.
The four-term House member from eastern Long Island entered the race in April 2021, before any of his rivals, helping him obtain big fundraising and endorsement advantages.
Party leaders gave Zeldin, endorsed by the Post Editorial Board, their backing at the GOP state convention held on Long Island earlier this year.
He led most polls throughout the race, including a June 13 survey that showed Zeldin with 34%, compared to 16% for Astorino, 15% for Wilson and 13% for Giuliani.

Maxwell won’t be the first famous jailbird to be incarcerated at the prison, with FCI Danbury having housed a slew of other A-list inmates, including songstress Lauryn Hill and "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Teresa Giudice.
Author Piper Kerman also spent 13 months at the facility before writing her best-selling memoir "Orange Is the New Black," based on her time there. The book was later turned into the smash Netflix series of the same name.
Since her arrest back in 2020, Maxwell has been incarcerated at the notorious Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where she has complained about dismal food, poor sleeping conditions and "creepy" guards.
In comparison, FCI Danbury will feel like "Disneyland," one prison expert told the Daily Mail.

/\ This is likely where it is intended to end. She'll do a few years in a quiet setting, write a book, give cooking lessons, keep a dog... then be released due to illness.
Executive level memory hole with a comfort pallet.

Ghislaine Maxwell is a master manipulator with a penchant for seducing troubled young women. Putting her in Danbury will give her nearly unlimited access to... troubled young women. In relatively pleasant low-security circumstances.
[NYPOST] Megyn Kelly blasted Rep. Alexandria Boom Boom Ocasio-Cortez Dem Congressgirl from da Bronx in Noo Yawk and leader of the Mean Girl Caucus in Congress. One of the Great Minds of the 21st Century, she is known as much for her innaleck as for her dance moves. She is all in favor of socialism, even though she's fuzzy on the details. She was the inventor of the Green New Deal, though she doesn't talk about it much anymore... (D-NY) as a "moron" and a "Kardashian in Congress" after the progressive politician called for impeaching Supreme Court justices over their decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
During an appearance on Eric Bolling’s Monday night program on the right-leaning cable channel Newsmax, Kelly unloaded on the congresschick from the Bronx and Queens during a discussion of the aftermath of Friday’s dramatic child sacrifice abortion ruling.
Kelly was asked to opine on the Sunday comments by Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) when she demanded that Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh be impeached for allegedly lying under oath during their Senate confirmation hearings.
Both justices told senators that Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 ruling which legalized child sacrifice abortion nationwide, was settled precedent, giving politicians the impression that they would vote down any attempt to undo it. Plessy v.Ferguson was settled precedent, too.

Stupid people easily lie because they willingly believe these things are a dice roll rather than consequences of actions.
Actively recruited even, unless you think someone who likely can't organize their sock drawer put together a political campaign in one of the most coveted districts in the nation.

^ Why does that description remind me of Bath House Barry, both senators from Georga, and so on?

On Stephen Colbert she said the Supreme Court exceeded their authority. What a bugwit.
I have always thought that Colbert was a 'toilet bug'... oh, you meant AOCQ?Q She's barely a 'midge'...

If the Supreme Court had the authority to decide Roe versus Wade in the first place, they have the authority to reverse the decision. The Dobbs decision holds that there is no Constitutional Right to abortion so states have the authority to decide. Either AOC is in agreement with Alito or she is unable to understand the decision. AOC can keep the argument going by continuing to push for federal action but the unfolding logic of more Supreme Court Jurisprudence is probably that a fetus is alive and has rights. Her actions going forward will be consistent with her stupidity. She will continue to win more stupid prizes as if she is addicted to Skee Ball at Chuckie Cheese.

Those people don’t bother to vote, thank goodness.

To be more precise, they may not vote but their votes are counted in the algorithm Dominion Systems has in their software. Its what they would have voted if they had voted, so its ok!
[NYPOST] A Pennsylvania man allegedly admitted to beating and strangling his girlfriend to death in front of her two young daughters as one of them pleaded, "Please stop. You are killing my mom," authorities said. He oughta know better than to do that in front of the kids.
They weren’t his kids, so he probably cared about as much as he did about their mom.
Thadius McGrath, 35, was charged with first- and third-degree murder and endangering the welfare of a child on Tuesday over the slaying of his 31-year-old girlfriend, Samantha Rementer, in Bucks County.
McGrath, who authorities say tried to kill himself in the aftermath, admitted to murdering Rementer in their home on June 8 "after she made me mad," according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by the Courier Times. Has anyone ever murdered his girlfriend while feeling content?
He allegedly told cops he hit Rementer with a black step ladder and a lamp in her daughters’ bedroom. He then allegedly strangled his girlfriend with the lamp cord, the affidavit said.

[TheHill] A group of House Democrats on Tuesday announced they would move to codify federal protections for transgender people.
The proposal, dubbed the “Transgender Bill of Rights,” would codify the Supreme Court’s 2020 Bostock v. Clayton County decision that protects employees against discrimination for being gay or transgender.
The proposal would amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to explicitly include protections for gender identity and sex characteristics, expand access to gender-affirming care and ban conversion therapy.
It would also require the attorney general to designate a liaison dedicated to overseeing enforcement of civil rights for transgender people and invest in community services to prevent anti-transgender violence.
Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), the chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and co-chair of the Transgender Equality Task Force, said in a statement that the resolution would ensure transgender people can lead “full, happy lives.”
“As we witness Republicans and an extremist Supreme Court attack and roll back the fundamental rights of trans people across our country, and as state legislatures across the country target our trans community with hateful, bigoted and transphobic attacks, we are standing up and saying enough is enough,” Jayapal said.
Jayapal introduced the proposal alongside Reps. David Cicilline (D-R.I.), Marie Newman (D-Ill.), Mark Takano (D-Calif.) and Ritchie Torres (D-N.Y.). The bill has 84 other co-sponsors.
The bill’s proponents cited Friday’s Supreme Court decision overturning the constitutional right to an abortion.
To normalize their Sexual Fetishes and Mentally Illnesses, the Liberals, Socialists, & Democrats(LSD's) move to legally protect another of their perversions.

I don’t think this will get support of 2/3 of the states if brought forward as an amendment to the constitution. It is probably intended to be implemented some other illegitimate way so it is named in a way to stifle opposition. Somebody will rename it more accurately as a Groomer Bill of Rights and people will argue.

Does Congress need to vote on this, or at least the Senate advise and consent?
...There's no legal requirement for Congress to approve deployments - that comes under the President's prerogative as CinC. However, Congress does have the power of the purse, and can say no in whatever passes for the Budget these days.

He also commented on the missile attack on Kremenchug, saying that "there is no terrorist attack there, the Russian army does not strike at any civilian targets."
Commenting on statements in the West that the war in Ukraine should be ended on the battlefield, Putin said that "we must treat this as a fact," and for Moscow "it was not a surprise that they had been preparing since 2014." He also stressed that Western calls to continue hostilities "confirm our assumptions that the good of Ukraine is not a goal, but a means of protecting their interests."
As for the membership of Finland and Sweden in NATO, then, according to the Russian president, if NATO military infrastructure is deployed in these countries, "the Russian Federation will have to respond in a mirror manner."
23:33 Zelensky announced sanctions against Syria: “Russia nevertheless squeezed out from Syria messages about the alleged recognition of the occupation structures in Donbas as supposedly states. This is Russia's true goal. The question is who is next for her? Moldova? The Baltic States? Poland? The answer is all of them. Russia's goals are known. They are obvious. The Russian leadership sees the world differently. Not the way you "They look at Lithuania, for example - not as a member of your alliance, but as a republic of the Soviet Union. [FoxNews] Every day, scientists at the Texas Department of Public Safety crime lab have their hands on one of the deadliest drugs in America.
"This here is a kilo of fentanyl," says DPS Forensic Scientist Jennifer Hatch as she handles the package wearing gloves.
Hatch gave Fox News a tour of the DPS Houston lab, explaining that nearly every street drug she analyzes is laced with the synthetic opioid.
"We are more surprised when they do come back legitimate, than when they don’t," says Hatch.
Last year, fentanyl was the number one cause of death among Americans 18 to 45 years-old, according to data by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Most of the time the drug is pressed into pill form. Though, authorities also confiscate kilos of fentanyl smuggled in from the border. Those large shipments also end up at the lab.
DPS says the kilo of fentanyl could produce up to 500,000 lethal doses. Which has the potential to kill hundreds of thousands of people.
Before the drug ends up at the lab, law enforcement has to find it. Which is not an easy task. Investigators say the Mexican Cartels hide it in everything from tires to water pumps. One of the people leading the charge to find the drug is Texas DPS Lt. Chris Olivarez.
"Every state is a border state because of what is taking place right now," says Lt. Olivarez.
The Lieutenant is one of many leading the charge in Texas to stop the pounds of what he calls poison being shipped into the U.S. from China and Mexico.
"The drug cartels are using the chemicals to mass produce fake pills," says Lt. Olivarez.
Fox took a close look at the cannot tell the difference between the prescription pills and the counterfeit pills that are laced with fentanyl. Even scientists must use high-tech instruments to analyze the components to know for sure.
"These are all fake Xanax tablets, and they look excellent," says Hatch.
DPS says the cartel makes big money off the synthetic opioid, but Americans pay the ultimate price.
"It is killing hundreds of Americans daily," says Lt. Olivarez.

[REGNUM] Western leaders need to cut back on alcohol to keep fit. This was announced on June 29 by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a press conference following the results of the VI Caspian Summit.
“I don’t know how they wanted to undress, to the waist, below the waist. I think it would be a disgusting sight anyway,” Putin said. Except for the Finnish prime minister
“Well, if you recall the words of Pushkin, he said the words, in my opinion: you can be a sensible person and think about the beauty of underwear. Therefore, I completely agree with this. Everything in a person should be harmonious: both the soul and the body. But in order for everything to be harmonious, you need to give up alcohol abuse, other bad habits, go in for physical culture, sports. Colleagues - I know them all personally. We are not in the best period of relations, this is understandable. But nevertheless, they are leaders, they have character. And if they want, they will achieve the desired success. But you need to work on yourself,” he continued.
But was he in one of his customary shirtless glamour poses when he said it?
Earlier, the heads of the G7 remembered the Russian leader at the dinner table. Preparing to be photographed, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson asked the others whether to keep their jackets or take them off to look "cooler" than the Russian leader. Later, Johnson also said that the special operation in Ukraine was a sign of the "toxic masculinity" of the Russian leader.
The Kremlin strongman made the snarky comment during a visit to the Russia-friendly Central Asian republic of Turkmenistan Thursday when asked about G7 leaders poking fun at him earlier this week.
As they sat down for talks in the German Alps, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson quipped that G7 leaders could take their clothes off to “show that we’re tougher than Putin” and “show them our pecs.”
His Canadian counterpart, Justin Trudeau, joked that they could try to match Putin’s infamous 2009 naked torso pictures with a “bare-chested horseback riding display.”
[Fox8Live] Disgraced R&B superstar R. Kelly was sentenced Wednesday to 30 years in prison for using his fame to sexually abuse young fans, including some who were just children, in a systematic scheme that went on for decades.
Through tears and anger, several of Kelly’s accusers told a court in New York City, and the singer himself, that he had misled and preyed upon them.
"You made me do things that broke my spirit. I literally wished I would die because of how low you made me feel," said one unnamed survivor, directly addressing Kelly, who kept his hands folded and his eyes downcast.
"Do you remember that?" she asked.
Kelly, 55, didn’t give a statement and showed no reaction on hearing his penalty, which also included a $100,000 fine. He has denied wrongdoing, and he plans to appeal his conviction.
The Grammy-winning, multiplatinum-selling songwriter was found guilty last year of racketeering and sex trafficking at a trial that gave voice to accusers who had previously wondered if their stories were being ignored because they were Black women.
Victims "are no longer the preyed-on individuals we once were," another one of his accusers said at the sentencing.
"There wasn’t a day in my life, up until this moment, that I actually believed that the judicial system would come through for Black and brown girls," she added outside court.
A third woman, sobbing and sniffling as she addressed the court, also said Kelly’s conviction renewed her faith in the legal system.
The woman said Kelly victimized her after she went to a concert when she was 17.
"I was afraid, naive and didn’t know to handle the situation," she said, so she didn’t speak up at the time.
"Silence," she said, "is a very lonely place."
Kelly’s lawyer, Jennifer Bonjean, said he was "devastated" by the sentence and saddened by what he had heard.
"He’s a human being. He feels what other people are feeling. But that doesn’t mean that he can accept responsibility in the way that the government would like him to and other people would like him to. Because he disagrees with the characterizations that have been made about him," she said.
The sentence caps a slow-motion fall for Kelly, who is known for work including the 1996 hit "I Believe I Can Fly" and the cult classic "Trapped in the Closet," a multipart tale of sexual betrayal and intrigue.
He was adored by legions of fans and sold millions of albums even after allegations about his abuse of maiden of tender yearss began circulating publicly in the 1990s. He beat child pornography charges in reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown ...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel... in 2008, when a jury acquitted him.

Having worked a hotel/inn in Fresno on Blackstone Ave. (mid 1970's). Where many Music Entertainment groups stayed.
Even before the groups arrived in town, the groupies, ages teen to granny, Parents with older teen daughters were already flooding in from surrounding areas and states.
Too many willing to party, ride or be ridden.
The Hotel Mgt.even hired off-duty police to walk the halls to keep it in the rooms.

Was at a hotel bar back in the day - they had karaoke, my friends could sing and I can watch and shoot pool, we knew the bartender. Modest crowd for a weekend night.
Suddenly the place started getting packed with girls all dressed up. Filled in for some thirty minutes when I leaned right and asked what the hell was going on. "Celebrity Musician" is going to stay here tonight. "Who the hell is Celebrity Musician" I asked. Turns out CM was on my left ordering a drink.
[IsraelTimes] Dozens of safe rooms being built adjacent to Lebanon Hezbollahstan ...Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. ... border in Shlomi; bids for construction begin in several other towns, with plans to eventually place them in 21 locations
The Defense Ministry on Tuesday announced that it had begun reinforcement work on dozens of homes in Israeli communities close to the Lebanese border — those that are most likely to be hit by rocket fire in a future conflict with the Hezbollah terror group.
The effort, dubbed Shield of the North, officially began in October, when the ministry’s Engineering and Construction Division, along with the Israel Defense Forces’ Home Front Command, started installing new bomb shelters in homes in the community of Kfar Yuval, northeast of Kiryat Shmona.
In the coming months, dozens of bomb shelters will be built in homes in the northern town of Shlomi, which were constructed in the 1970s without reinforced rooms, the ministry said.
Separately, the ministry published a tender for the construction of 110 bomb shelters in Misgav Am, and is set to publish similar tenders for the towns of Margaliot and Manara in the coming weeks.
The ministry said it was in the "architectural planning phase" of bomb shelters in 12 other locales, totaling some 1,000 homes.
Ultimately, the ministry intends to carry out its Shield of the North reinforcement plan in the 21 communities closest to the northern border. (Shield of the North is not to be confused with the IDF’s Operation Northern Shield, in which the military uncovered a number of attack tunnels dug into Israeli territory by Hezbollah.)
The reinforcement plan came after years of promises to improve the shelters in northern communities, which were regularly found to be lacking, despite the high probability that these areas would be hit by barrages from Hezbollah.
A 2020 state comptroller report found that nearly 30 percent of Israeli citizens do not have access to functioning bomb shelters near their homes, including over a quarter of a million people who live near the borders with the Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... Strip and Lebanon.
The Defense Ministry has been conducting a similar effort to reinforce kindergartens in Israeli communities close to the border with Gaza.
According to some national security experts, Israel relies too heavily upon its offensive and active defense capabilities, like the Iron Dome and other missile defense systems, to quickly neutralize threats, instead of building up its physical fortifications and preparing to more safely absorb attacks.
Last month, the Home Front Command practiced a simulation in which Israeli cities could be bombarded with 1,500 rockets a day with 80 sites being heavily damaged and some 300 casualties during a several-day flare-up with Hezbollah.
The terror group has long been the IDF’s most significant adversary, with an estimated arsenal of nearly 150,000 rockets and missiles that can reach anywhere in Israel.

[RIA Novosti] About 500 Ukrainian soldiers and 74 mercenaries left Lisichansk overnight for the Seversk region, Vitaly Kiselyov, assistant head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Luhansk People's Republic, said on his Telegram channel.
“At the moment, there are six battalions of Ukrainian troops in Seversk, and foreigners are also arriving. The personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine live in “abandoned houses” and apartments,” he wrote.
According to Kisilev, some battalions are going to leave the city in the near future.
Mercenaries from Poland and Georgia spotted in Severodonetsk and Lisichansk.
"Since April 28, there has been no water, no gas, no electricity. People communicate with the help of Kyivstar and Life. They charge batteries with a generator, but only if they produce gasoline," the assistant to the head of the LPR Ministry of Internal Affairs concluded.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation in Ukraine. Vladimir Putin called its goal "the protection of people who have been subjected to genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years."
The DPR has already liberated Volnovakha , a strategically important regional center south of Donetsk, Mariupol, the largest city on the coast of the Sea of Azov, and Svyatogorsk, where a large Orthodox monastery with the status of a lavra is located. In the LPR, almost the entire territory of the republic was liberated, with the exception of Lisichansk.
[RIA Novosti] In Lisichansk, a group of Russian troops "O" ("Brave") actually cut the last major road connecting the Ukrainian military with the "mainland", RIA Novosti correspondent reports citing a military source.
As the interlocutor of the agency clarified, we are talking about the city of Seversk in the Bakhmut district.
"Already now we can talk about the operational encirclement of the enemy in Lisichansk," he said.
At the same time, according to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to stop the offensive of the Russian army and are actively mining the fields and forest plantations around Lysychansk with the help of the PFM-1 "Lepestok" (Ukraine ratified the Ottawa Convention in 2005, which prohibits the use, accumulation and production of anti-personnel mines.
In addition, the enemy is conducting intensive shelling, anti-tank crews are operating, but the Russian military continues to move forward, the source said.
Earlier, the Russian Armed Forces reported that they had taken control of an oil refinery 16 kilometers southwest of Lisichansk and liberated the neighboring village of Topolevka, Popasnyansky district.

[ColonelCassad] 1. Lisichansk.
Today, the Lisichansk Oil Refinery has been taken, fighting continues in Verkhnekamenka, in the area of Belaya Gora, Privolye (there are reports of the withdrawal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine), as well as in Lisichansk itself. The enemy is partially withdrawing to Seversk, where a new line of defense is being built.
2. Artemovsk.
Fighting continues in Klinovoe, our troops have advanced in the village. Pokrovsky has no special changes. The enemy also holds supply lines to the Novolugansk and Uglegorsk TPPs.
3. Soledar.
Fighting continues near Nikolaevka, in Belogorovka and Berestovo. The enemy is still holding the front, but soon the Armed Forces of Ukraine will have to solve the problem of the offensive of the RF Armed Forces from the north, after the completion of the liberation of Lisichansk, the main pressure will be on Seversk and Soledar.
4. Slavyansk.
Fights at Bogorodichny, Krasnopolye, Prishib, Sidorovo. The pace of progress towards Slavyansk is still low.
5. Kharkov.
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have ousted the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Dementievka and are intensifying the fire destruction of enemy positions on the outskirts of Kharkov. Opportunities for advancement are being felt in the area of the Upper Passages, Uda, Tsupovka. The processing of the Zolochevsky fortified area is also underway.
6. Avdievka.
On the front line without significant changes. Artillery shelling of Donetsk became less intense after the intensification of counter-battery work.
7. Ugledar.
After recent attempts at an offensive near Pavlovka, Yegorovka and Shevchenkovo, the enemy, having suffered heavy losses, was forced to reduce his activity, and the battles here are again developing in a positional manner. In the area of Novomikhailovka and Marinka, no changes.
8. Zaporozhye.
On the line Kamenskoe-Orekhov-Gulyaipole-Velikaya Novoselovka without significant changes. In the Kamenskoye area, the largest exchange of prisoners of war since the beginning of the SVO took place - they changed 144 to 144 people. Among those exchanged from the Ukrainian side were 43 wounded Azov militants. Among ours are several pilots.
9. Nikolaev.
At the front, no significant changes. In the Nikopol direction, the enemy is trying to crush in the Potemkino area. Nikolayev continues to be subjected to intense missile strikes. Activation in this direction is quite possible in July.
10. Odessa.
Ukraine continues to prepare for attempts to attack the island of Serpents as part of the political task. In the coming weeks, this will certainly result in shelling of the island from the MLRS and OTRK, as well as attempts to strike from the air. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the Black Sea Fleet are also preparing for these attempts.
Ukraine needs at least some kind of victory against the background of the retreat in the Donbass. In addition, the US and Britain are trying to challenge the control of the Black Sea Fleet in the northwestern part of the Black Sea.
[IsraelTimes] Highest corpse count estimate for conflict does not include tens of thousands of soldiers also dead.
The first 10 years of Syria’s conflict, which started in 2011, killed more than 300,000 civilians, the United Nations ...a formerly good idea gone bad... said Tuesday — the highest official estimate to date of conflict-related civilian deaths in the country.
The conflict began with anti-government protests that broke out in March 2011 in different parts of Syria, demanding democratic reforms following Arab Spring protests in Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... , Libya, and Bahrain that removed some Arab leaders who had been in power for decades.
However, man does not live by words alone, despite the fact that sometimes he has to eat them... it quickly turned into a full-blown civil war that killed hundreds of thousands and destroyed large parts of the country.
Tuesday’s report published by the UN Human Rights Office followed what it said were rigorous assessment and statistical analysis of the available data on civilian casualties. According to the report, 306,887 civilians are estimated to have been killed in Syria between March 1, 2011, and March 31, 2021, because of the conflict.
The figures released by the UN do not include soldiers and hard boyz killed in the conflict; their numbers are believed to be in the tens of thousands. The numbers also do not include people who were killed and buried by their families without notifying authorities.
"These are the people killed as a direct result of war operations. This does not include the many, many more civilians who died due to the loss of access to healthcare, to food, to clean water and other essential human rights ...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless... ," said UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet.
The report, mandated by the UN Human Rights Council, cited 143,350 civilian deaths individually documented by various sources with detailed information, including at least their full name, date, and location of death.
Also, statistical estimation techniques were used to connect the dots where there were missing elements of information. Using these techniques, a further 163,537 civilian deaths were estimated to have occurred.
"The conflict-related casualty figures in this report are not simply a set of abstract numbers, but represent individual human beings," Bachelet said. She added that the work of civil society organizations and the UN in monitoring and documenting conflict-related deaths is key in helping families and communities establish the truth, seek accountability, and pursue effective remedies.
The estimate of 306,887 means that on average, every single day, for the past 10 years, 83 civilians suffered violent mostly peaceful deaths due to the conflict, the report said. It was based on eight sources of information — including the Damascus Center for Human Rights Studies, the Center for Statistics and Research-Syria, the Syrian Network for Human Rights, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, and the Violations Documentation Center.

The Russians were onerous, paranoid bastids prior the invasion of Ukraine. The Russians will be onerous, parnoid bastids long after the invasion of the Ukraine.
Sort of like the views of the Zermatt across the Lake Riffelsee. Nothing changes really that much.
#4
The fascinating thing is that since Peter the Great, Russia has been invaded by the Swedes, the French (who at least got to Moscow), and the Germans. They all failed. The last one to actually conquer Russia were the Yuan Chinese (aka the Mongols). You would think that the ones that kept them in a yoke for hundreds of years would be of significant concern.
#5
^ This is why they are onerous, paranoid bastids. And they must know they are really not good at war fighting, or much of anything else except making vodka and Kalashnikovs. They have always relied on thousands of miles of empty steppes between their enemies and Moscow so that anybody who actually makes it to Moscow will be worn out, freezing and over extended.

One might also understand if they are not impressed with NATO claims of strictly peaceful, defensive intentions. They've heard all that from other Western powers many times in the past.

To me it just looks like two more freeloaders who will be leveraging the US military to back up their provocations of Putin. If Lithuania and all the pipsqueaks are going poke the bear, I need at least a couple of months in the gym to get back in passable shape to mobilize in my late 50’s. It would be impossible to form a decent military out of what the left is churning out of our schools.

How Nigerian Army Killed Septuagenarian, Burnt Houses, Displaced Residents In Cross River Community After Losing Six Officers To Militants | Sahara Reporters https://t.co/MMKSA5Gw0npic.twitter.com/CvViHMmp1y
Several persons, including a 70-year-old resident, identified as Mr. Okoi Egbai Cletus Offem, have been killed in a clash between troops of the Nigerian Army and residents of Nko and Onyadama communities of Cross River State.
SaharaReporters learnt from the daughter of the dear departed that members of the Nko community had attacked some soldiers who were deployed to restore peace between the warring Onyadama community in Obubra Local Government Area (LGA) and Nko community in Yakurr LGA of the state.
But the soldiers descended on the whole community, killing innocent residents.
She said, "The soldiers burned my father's house while he and my mother were inside. My mother ran out of the house naked but my father could not escape. He was burned to ashes," she said in a voice that reflected grief and sorrow.
She continued: "Many people are hiding in the bush to the attack. The soldiers have taken over our community."
Another source from the community also told SaharaReporters that many people had been displaced due to the attack.
He said, "These are Nigerian refugees from Nko community in Yakurr Local Government Area in Cross River State that were displaced from their homes by the military on account of communal war.
"The Nigerian Military alleged that one of their men was shot in the process of maintaining peace between the Onyoadama and Nko community. This eventually led to the deployment of more military men to Nko who have killed several, tortured our women, raped, looted and burnt down houses.
"This is callous and inhuman. We are also Nigerians. We need help and justice because the military has done more harm than good. This is a civil war experience and these people are traumatised.
"I appeal to the President and the Chief of Army Staff of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to quickly call the army personnel to order and also set up a panel to investigate this matter. We need justice. Today is the fourth day of military brutality in Nko," he added.
Meanwhile, ...back at the cheese factory, there was only one thought in the mouse's mind: I can do this! I can do this! Then the trap sprung... the Cross River State government has ordered the Nko community enmeshed in a clash with the military to produce the missing six personnel of the Nigerian Army alive.
The order was contained in a statement issued by the Deputy Chief press secretary to Governor Ben Ayade, Linus Obogo Tuesday.
The state security council comprising of all service commanders presided by Gov Ayade has been meeting since Monday morning over the weekend communal clash between Nko youths in Yakurr LGA and their neighbours, Onyadama community in Abi LGA over a parcel of land.
Media reports say Nko youths suspected the army of being partial in the matter and allegedly shot an army commander on Saturday evening alongside six other soldiers.
In reaction, more soldiers were mobilised from Edor Barrack in Ikom, which led to more violence, house burning and killings.
In the statement, the government ordered the army to sustain its operation in Nko community until those behind the shooting of the six military personnel are produced or fished out

[KavkazUzel] Blogger from Kabardino-Balkaria Insa Lander, who escaped from house arrest, has been put on the wanted list, follows from the information in the database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Clearly something jihad related, though for some reason either the authorities or Kavkaz Uzel once again decline to be more specific.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a blogger from Baksan, Insa Oguz, known under the pseudonym "Insa Lander", was able to fly to Lithuania . Earlier, she escaped from house arrest and on June 12 tried to leave for Georgia through North Ossetia, but the Georgian border guards did not let her through, and the blogger remained on neutral territory between the two countries.
Georgian laws allow those who are prosecuted for terrorism to be denied entry, the Interior Ministry explained on June 16. On June 27, the Georgian authorities allowed Inse Lander, a blogger from Kabardino-Balkaria, to enter the country, from where she flew to Lithuania on June 28.
On December 9, 2021, Insa Lander was detained and placed under house arrest on suspicion of facilitating terrorist activities. In early February, Lander was allowed to move into a rented apartment. The court repeatedly extended her term of house arrest, the defense stated that there were no grounds for this.
The attempt of the blogger from Kabardino-Balkaria Insa Lander to escape to Georgia may be related to judicial practice in similar cases - for the entire time this article was applied, there was not a single acquittal, lawyer Dmitry Zakhvatov believes.
Insa Lander, previously included in the list of extremists and terrorists, was included in the list of wanted persons in the database of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, TASS reported today. "Oguz Insa Soltan Khamidovna, [known as Insa Lander], born January 23, 1992, is wanted under the article of the Criminal Code," the department's file says.
[DAILYCALLER] Rep. Lauren Boebert survived a primary challenge from state Sen. Don Coram in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District Tuesday night, The Associated Press reported.
The Colorado Republican handily defeated Coram, a moderate who has been known to reach across the aisle during his time as a GOP state senator, according to the AP. During the campaign Coram blasted Boebert for being “a right-wing celebrity pundit rather than a representative of the people she is paid to represent,” Newsweek reported. (RELATED: HHS Secretary Becerra Dodges Rep. Boebert’s Question On Whether ‘Men Can Get Pregnant’)
Boebert has generated attention over battles to carry handguns in Washington, D.C., public clashes with Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, and erupting during President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address to remind him about the 13 Americans killed during the Afghanistan withdrawal.
I had no idea such a thing still existed, but even the Rantburg archives admit to it.
[Breitbart] Catholic League president Bill Donohue slammed House Speaker Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. On-again-off-again Speaker of the House. It's not her fault when they lose, but it's her accomplishment when they win. Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace and occasional senior... uhhh... moments... (D-CA) Wednesday for politicizing the Eucharist by receiving Communion at the Vatican.
Pelosi, "who rejects the Catholic Church’s teachings on child sacrifice abortion, marriage and sexuality, received Holy Communion on June 29 at a papal Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica," Dr. Donohue noted. "The pope was in attendance, but did not give out Communion."
"Pelosi’s stunt was done to undercut her bishop, the Socialist paradise of San Francisco ...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964... Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone: he has told her not to present herself for Communion, citing her lust for child sacrifice abortion rights," Donohue added.
Such discipline obviously depends on the good will of the person in question, because priests are not coppers, but pastors, and assume that anyone who approaches the altar to receive the sacrament is in a proper state to do so, Donohue observed.
Therefore, even though some will blame the Vatican for what happened and others might blame Cordileone, in point of fact, there is "only one person to blame — Pelosi," Donohue wrote.
In asking Pelosi not to receive Communion, Archbishop Cordileone invoked canon law and is "in total compliance with Catholic teachings," Donohue added.
The priest who gave Pelosi Communion in the Vatican Wednesday was just one of the many priests who were distributing it and he obviously had no clue who Pelosi was, Donohue said.
The priest simply did what was expected of him: "He gave Communion to everyone waiting on line to receive it," Donohue wrote, which does not exclude the possibility that someone will willfully exploit the sacrament.

Each of us has the opportunity to enthrone Jesus within ourselves or we can kick Him out by sinning and replacing Him with Baal. We can rent to either tenant. Enthroning Baal and the taking the Eucharist is dangerous to your soul.
“For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself.” 1 Corinthians 11:28.
Cordelione was trying to help her. She did not get it.

Man goes to heaven and is escorted by St Peter to his room. As the walk down the hallway the new arrival sees a number of Popes in Motel-6 type rooms. Arriving at his eternal apartment, the door opens up to what would be considered an opulent 5 star suite. The man pauses. Turns to St. Peter and questions why he's getting such a home while the Popes are in so basic accommodations. St. Peter simply explains "We have lots of Popes here. You are our first lawyer".
Some people are born stupid. Others work really, really hard to develop it.
[IsraelTimes] Benjamin Briere’s attorney says Iranian authorities are holding him ’hostage’; he was arrested after taking pictures in a national park with a recreational drone.
An Iranian appeals court has upheld an eight-year prison sentence against a Frenchie convicted on spying charges, his lawyer said Tuesday.
Benjamin Briere was arrested in May 2020 after taking pictures in a national park with a recreational drone. His lawyers and family have accused Iran ...Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979... of holding him as a "hostage."
The lawyer, Philippe Valent, said Briere’s case was being "instrumentalized" by the Iranian authorities.
"It’s shocking and dramatic," he told AFP, adding that the verdict coincided with the resumption of negotiations between Tehran and Western powers on Iran’s nuclear program.
"This trial is a masquerade — the submerged part of a huge issue that is beyond us," Briere’s sister, Blandine, told AFP.
The appeals court explained its decision by accusing Briere of being "an agent in the service of an enemy state" in its verdict, which was translated by Briere’s Iranian lawyer, Valent said.
Briere, 36, who was convicted in January for spying and propaganda against Iran’s Islamic system, had appealed the sentence.
His lawyer said he had not even been given access to the full indictment against him.
The verdict against Briere comes as Iran and world powers are seeking to reach an agreement at talks in Vienna on reviving the 2015 deal over the Iranian nuclear program.
Chief negotiators from the United States and Iran were due to start indirect talks in Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi... on Tuesday, to try to remove obstacles stalling attempts to revive a landmark nuclear deal.
Nationals of all three European powers involved in the talks on the Iranian nuclear program — Britannia, La Belle France and Germany — are among the foreigners being held in Iran.
"We ask the French, American and British authorities to make the liberation of hostages a pre-condition for the resumption of negotiations," Valent said.
During his original trial, Briere’s sister Blandine told AFP her brother was a "political hostage" subjected to a "parody of justice."
"It is a political trial, and it is useful to Iran, which is sending a message to the French government," she said.
The French foreign ministry at the time described the verdict as "unacceptable", saying Briere was a "tourist."
Three other Frenchies are also being held in Iran.
Franco-Iranian researcher Fariba Adelkhah was tossed in the clink Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit! for five years in May 2020 on a national security charge.
Two other Frenchies were arrested in May, accused by Iran of having entered the country with the aim of destabilizing.
Gay Paree has denounced that claim as groundless.
Iran insists all the foreigners held are tried in line with domestic law but has repeatedly expressed its readiness to carry out prisoner swaps.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] I'll try to be more vocal in my dislike for Meghan Markle. And she probably meant "visceral" rather than "gutteral."
Guttural means in the gut, right? Clearly a synonym for visceral.. and nothing to do with gutters, no matter where she’s from.

I enjoyed her as an actress, Abu Uluque. I had hoped to enjoy her as a princess, too, but she chose to make it political. She dragged that nice young man into strife with his family, demonstrating the very old-fashioned idea that the character of the woman a man marries can make or break him.

Harry can't stand his father, Prince Charles, as he takes after his mother Diana who divorced his father. I think his marriage to Markle is more of a rebellion against the Royals in general. An American African American wife is his ultimate middle finger to the British Crown and their values.

Meghan, I was counting on all the male 'birthing people' using their outrage for this issue. Clearly they are more impacted than myself. With so many issues to be outraged over, I have channel my outrage for maximum impact. Sorry!

I thought the way the Royals dealt with Prince Harry and the Tramp during the Jubilee was perfect. Utter cold indifference and icy correctness. Even Chuck didit right refusing to even make eye contact. Harry came home seeing he has descended to being adrift and without even the trappings of status. He's just HER husband now, and they are discovering even D list invites are drying up. Whatta Moroon as Bugs would say!

I have to wonder what would happen if Meghan went and got herself an abortion at this point. The Royals may be cold to her but I think that would be a bit too far.

Surveillance cameras captured Homero Zamorano, 45, driving the truck across the US-Mexico border
It came hours before the driver allegedly abandoned it on a dirt track on the outskirts of San Antonio
Texas police said that Zamorano, of Houston, Texas, was 'very high on meth' at the time of his arrest
They also claimed that he tried to pose as 'an irregular immigrant to avoid being detained by the officers
The semi-truck driver who transported up to 100 migrants across the southern border before leaving them to die in the sweltering Texas heat allegedly tried to disguise himself as a victim of the tragedy.
Mexican nationals Juan Francisco D'Luna-Bilbao and Juan Claudio D'Luna-Mendez were also taken into custody at a home in San Antonio. They were charged in federal court Tuesday with possessing firearms while residing in the US illegally.
The death toll in the tragedy, which is the deadliest human smuggling attempt in American history, rose to 53 Wednesday. Officials have identified 34 of the deceased, including four Hondurans and two Guatemalan sisters.
Police say the smugglers treated the migrants 'worse than animals' throughout the voyage, leaving them no water or visible means of air-conditioning. Several survivors are in critical condition after suffering brain damage and internal bleeding.
Investigators suspect the migrants paid the smugglers around $10,000 for safe passage to the US.
Investigators suspect the truck had suffered some sort of mechanical problem.
Yáñez also confirmed that Zamorano had been driving a semi with a stolen registration, saying: 'The plates, logos and license were cloned.'
Officials had first linked Zamorano's rig to an Alamo resident. However, investigation proved the Alamo man's truck had been out hauling grain in another part of Texas at the time of the incident.
Medical examiners have potentially identified 34 of the victims, said Bexar County Commissioner Rebeca Clay-Flores, who represents the district where the truck was abandoned.
But she says the identification process has proven to be a 'tedious, tedious, sad, difficult process' as many victims have been found with stolen IDs or no identification documents at all.
The deceased migrants included 39 men and 12 women. County officials told WOAI-TV five of the victims were under the age of 18. Investigators said they were not young children, but possibly teenagers.
Among the dead are 27 people from Mexico, 14 from Honduras, seven from Guatemala and two from El Salvador, he said. One of the victims had no identification, officials revealed.
Authorities believe the migrants were loaded into the semi-truck in Laredo, a border city, on Monday afternoon.
It appeared the migrants had recently crossed the border and were picked up by the truck to be taken to where they would work, according to a Mexican official.
They were driven 150 miles to San Antonio before smugglers abandoned the vehicle after it suffered mechanical problems.
The surviving migrants will likely be released into the U.S. to pursue asylum or other forms of humanitarian relief, the CBP official and two other law enforcement officials told Reuters. Some survivors of human smuggling in the past have been taken into American custody to testify as witnesses.

Given the way the Biden/LSD's look the other way with open borders, and help facilitate the situation.
Shouldn't they be charged as accessories to the Murder?
Follow up to this story from two days ago, concentrating on the sheriff this time, not the criminals.
[FoxNews] Suspected drug traffickers Jose Zendejas, 25, and Benito Madrigal, 19, were arrested Friday and released days later.
Tulare County Court Commissioner Mikki Verissimo of California signed an order to release two suspected drug traffickers recently arrested with 150,000 fentanyl pills in their possession, Fox News confirmed Tuesday.
Officials arrested Jose Zendejas, 25, and Benito Madrigal, 19, during a traffic stop on Friday and transported them to the Tulare County Pre-Trial Facility on charges of possession, transportation and selling of illegal drugs, but they were released over the weekend.
The Tulare County District Attorney Tim Ward's office said in a statement to Fox News Digital that it was "not involved with or agree with the decision to release these individuals."
"The time in which they were released was after their arrest and prior to police reports being submitted to our office. Through a risk assessment by the county probation department, they were released by a judicial officer," Ward's office said. Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux is outraged by the release. His interview with Fox News can be heard at the link.

[IsraelTimes] Two men from southern Bedouin town arrested last month with four pistols, three M16 rifles; their Shin Bet interrogation leads authorities to two more suspects
The Israel Defense Forces announced Tuesday it had foiled an attempt to smuggle several firearms into Israel from Jordan last month, in what authorities suspected was part of a terror plot.
According to the IDF, on the night of May 22, soldiers monitoring surveillance cameras identified suspects approaching the Israeli border near the Dead Sea, and dispatched troops to the scene.
Two men — a-Rahman Abu Sabih and Majid Qashkar — from a Bedouin village near the southern city of Dimona were arrested, and a bag containing four handguns and four M16 rifles was seized, the IDF said.
Israeli authorities said they suspect the weapons were intended for terror purposes, rather than criminal.
The pair were questioned by the Shin Bet security agency, which led to the arrest of two other suspects, Mohammed Qashkar and Salman Aluj, who allegedly led gun-running operations on the Jordanian border, the military said.
All four were expected to be indicted in the coming days, and their remand was extended until the end of legal proceedings.
The military and police have stepped up efforts to halt smuggling attempts along the Jordanian border in recent months, but some officials have admitted that success has been limited thus far.
Last week, security forces arrested two men, also from Bedouin villages near Dimona, suspected of smuggling guns from Jordan, confiscating over a dozen rifles and handguns in the process.
Police said they had been following a network of gun smugglers in the area for several months, with last week’s suspects being part of that network.
Unlike Israel’s other frontiers — with Egypt, Lebanon Hezbollahstan ...Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. ... and Syria — its border with Jordan is largely open, often without significant fencing, and is relatively unguarded, making it an easy channel for large-scale smuggling.
"The IDF, Shin Bet, and Israel Police view any involvement of Israeli citizens in smuggling weapons into Israeli territory very seriously, thereby endangering the security of the state and its residents," a joint message said.

Pretty much all financial security experts say it's stupid to use a debit card to make purchases. Unlike a credit card, it is a mainline into your bank account. If someone steals the data and empties your account, you have none of the fraud protections that credit cards do.
Yes, I do get some people can't get a traditional credit card. In that instance, a pre-paid credit card is the way to go, for safety's sake.
I don't even use a credit card at the gas station anymore. Skimmer gangs are everywhere. Use your debit card to get cash at an ATM instead.

^^ Had that happen for the first (and only) time (knock on wood) about four years ago at a 7-11 gas station. A weird charge in Indian rupees (like I said, a 7-11) appeared.
Funny, I drove by that area last week...that petrol station has been levelled. Good.
