House Democrats vote to let some illegal immigrants work as congressional staffers
[FOX] House Democrats passed a massive legislative budget this week that allows for members of Congress to hire illegal immigrants to work for them on Capitol Hill.

The legislative funding bill "includes language to permit DACA recipients, Dreamers, to be able to work for Congress and other legislative branch agencies," Democratic Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan noted on the House floor Wednesday.

In the U.S., there are an estimated 800,000 "Dreamers" — children brought to the U.S. illegally who were protected from deportation under an Obama-era program, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).

A federal judge earlier this month ruled that DACA was illegal and ordered the Biden administration to cease accepting applications for the program.

Graphic Content Warning: Crowd Gasps as Fed-Up Parents Read School's Pornographic Books Out Loud at Board Meeting
[Western Journal] If there’s one good thing that came out of school closures, it’s that parents finally had a window into what their kids were being exposed to in the classroom — and many were horrified by what they saw.

That’s exactly what happened in Carmel, Indiana, where parents learned the full scope of the perversion being peddled to their children.

The school libraries there are filled with storybooks pushing radical transgender ideology, lessons on masturbation for middle schoolers, and novels with explicit sexual scenes including one describing a bloody rape.

At a meeting of the Carmel Clay School Board on Monday, outraged parents took turns reading excerpts from these materials.

They are so objectionable that it’s necessary to issue more than our usual warning of graphic content.

#1  Get arrested for selling 'adult' materials to minors, but its OK if provided by 'educators'? Seems the parents need to go to the local DA and tell him or her that they'll be out in the next election unless a grand jury is convened to press charges.

#5  Children's books more explicit than Playboy or Hustler? Just what we need, kids who's hormones need more stimulation. No wonder we get so many pre-teen and teen girls getting pregnant. Probably good for the abortion industry. These booksellers are selling misery for a lot of young people. Glad to see parents resisting this smut foisted upon their kids in Carmel, IN.

#6  Seems the parents need to go to the local DA and tell him or her that they'll be out in the next election unless a grand jury is convened to press charges.

Might be a good idea but good luck trying to implement it. The DA most likely owes his/her/its job to Soros.

#7  #4, also a good idea. Most parents are too busy working to earn a living to think about running for a seat on the local school board. Might be about time for them to start thinking about it. Might be past time.

But another problem is that a lot of the curricula is mandated at the state level with input from communist teachers' unions. That'd mean running for state legislature against well-funded Democrats. Dunno about Indiana but that's damn near impossible in California.

Louisiana healthcare millionaire pleads guilty to kidnap plot against his ex-wife which unraveled when the two captors he hired DROWNED while trying to escape police with hostage who survived in back of van
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Note: when trying to escape from the Po-Po by jumping in a canal, make sure you can swim first
  • Lawrence Michael Handley, 53, plotted to have his ex-wife Schanda kidnapped

  • The pair married in 2006 but divorced in 2017; that year, he started using drugs

  • He'd made his fortune in rehab centers and launching companies that sold vitamins, among other things

  • In August 2017, while high on meth and cocaine, Handley paid Sylvester Bracey and Arsenio Haynes to kidnap his wife

  • They went to her home, put a bag over her head and put her in their van

  • As they fled, they hit traffic and started speeding up the shoulder of the road

  • It attracted the attention of a cop who chased them; the men crashed, fled on foot, then jumped into a canal where they drowned

  • Schanda survived and was found in the back of the van; Handley was found in a hotel four days later

  • He pleaded guilty on Tuesday to 2 charges and now faces 35 years behind bars

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Nearly 50% of Republicans believe there will be a time soon where 'patriotic Americans' will 'have to take the law into their own hands'
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • The YouGov survey for George Washington University was conducted in June

  • It asked those polled to respond to the statement that there will be a time coming when 'patriotic Americans have to take the law into their own hands'

  • The poll found that 47% of Republicans surveyed agreed with the statement

  • Just 9% of Democrats agreed with that same conclusion, in a shocking difference of opinion on partisan political influence on laws in the United States

  • More than half of Republicans - 55% - also supported the use of force to 'preserve the traditional American way of life

  • Just 15% of Democrats supported the use of force to preserve the nation's values

  • Those survey questions were part of a larger survey about American attitudes and confidence toward elections in the wake of the results 2020 election

  • The poll found that 75% of Democratic voters were confident in regard to the integrity of the upcoming 2022 midterm elections

  • That number is down a single percentage point from the 2020 election, in which 76% of Democratic voters expressed confidence in the integrity of the election

  • Just 28% of Republicans are confident in the integrity of the 2022 election, down 18 percentage points from the number of GOP voters, 46%, before the 2020 vote

Britain
Psychological manipulation and the greatest medical screwup in history.
[Catallaxy] I have just completed reading "A State of Fear" by Laura Dodsworth, subtitled "How the UK government weaponised fear during the Covid 19 pandemic". I strongly recommend that people who suspect we are being manipulated read it. There is too much to digest to be able to sum it up succinctly but I will quote from the third to last chapter:
Fear has created a morality play where heavy-handed discussions about society wide vaccine mandates and Covid certificates, or vaccine passports, are privileged over personal responsibility and risk. Does your happy ending involve personal responsibility or state mandates? In the desperate desire to end the horrible story of the Covid-19 pandemic we are rushing towards a conclusion without being certain enough of our values.
From the last chapter:
The Covid-19 epidemic may prove to be the biggest campaign of fear the UK, and the world, has ever seen.....the almost imperceptible stripping away of rights and freedoms, as the people and their government gradually separate, is an old story repeated throughout history, but avoidable if we choose to learn from it,

And:

We seem to have forgotten that no one is safe. You have never been safe and you never will be. Nor will I. In the blind global panic of an epidemic we have forgotten how to analyse risk. If you don’t accept that you will die one day, that you can never be safe, then you are a sitting duck for authoritarian policies which purport to be for your safety. If too many individuals immolate their liberty for safety we risk a bonfire of freedoms.

Australian citizens have been played for mugs as well and vaccination will not save them. Here in the state of darkness our "lockdown" partially ended today but apparently we had not been good enough to be set free and still have mandates for masks, no singing or dancing allowed and other trivial restrictions will continue until we have been really good — sickening stuff. (The dancing ban reminded me of a story my father told years ago about the Methodists banning having sex standing up as they feared it might lead to dancing).

-Great Cultural Revolution
Critical Race Theory Is A Societal Dead End
[LI] The recent survey by Gallup showing a precipitous decline in positive views on race relations would not come as a shock to Legal Insurrection readers who have followed our coverage dating back to Obama’s campaign, the false narratives of the Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown cases, and the more recent rise of Critical Race Theory activism.

It’s a theme I was able to talk about on the John DePetro radio show on July 21, the day the Gallup survey was released but before I knew about it. DePetro is a radio talk show host who was voted Best of Rhode Island in 2020. He’s also someone who doesn’t hesitate to get out of the studio and onto the streets to video protests and other news events, and has tons of sources and is very keyed-into the local political intrigue.

DePetro has had both Nicole Solas and Ramona Bessinger on his show. During my appearance, I was able to talk about the work Legal Insurrection has been doing in bringing forth and taking national stories about how critical race theory is playing out in schools.

What I liked about the interview is that he didn’t try to force a view on me. He asked questions and gave me the room to answer. The video and transcript are below.

#5  I read so many of these indignant articles but the word 'black' or 'African' is always absent everywhere. Like the dems pushing 'gun violence', the republicans seem to believe in rampant marxism as the only enemy.

Critical Race Theory is not simply some neo-marxist construct recently created to aid the scam against historically complexed people. It is quite apparent that a real fire has been fanned since the 60s, and is now a firm belief in the hearts of many that white America must soon pay with everything.

#6  Like affirmative action, it is becoming one of the tools to normalize the takeover of America, by a recidivist cultural outgroup. Marxism, communism, wokism... these are just masks of covenience, hiding the same murderous hatred found in jungles of equatorial shitholes.

The muzz practice such subterfuge all the time, surrounded by larger numbers of aggressive non-moslems. They form parties and organizations, posing as marxists, communists, all the while really creating battalions of footsoldiers and lone wolves. And they cover everything with the tag of 'a scared, disenfranchised minority'. Who do you think taught the Kendis and TaNehisis and Sharptons and Malcoms this game?

[Real Clear Science] After a grueling sports match or a brutal workout, there's often nothing more refreshing than a nice cold beer... But what about the drink's intoxicating effects? When the human body requires recovery after strenuous exercise, will downing a beer actually backfire?

Patrick B. Wilson, an associate professor in exercise science at Old Dominion University, and Jaison Wynne, a PhD student in the Department of Human Movement Sciences at Old Dominion explored this, and a variety of other questions in the first systematic review of beer's effects on exercise performance, recovery, and adaptation. Here are four key takeaways:

Government Corruption
Rep. Matt Gaetz Implies that Our Own Government Was Behind Jan. 6 False Flag ‐ Demands Release of 14,000 hrs. of Hidden Video (VIDEO)
[Gateway Pundit] Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) took to the House floor (without a mask) and implied that our own government was behind the Jan. 6 false flag attacks on the US Capitol.
Rep. Matt Gaetz: "...the 14,000 hours of tape could also show us who was animating that violence. Whether they were connected in any way, directed any way — by federal agencies. It raises great suspicion that we are unable to get access to this information as members of Congress."

Of course, Matt Gaetz is on to something.

Video released by Bobby Powell showed violent hoodlums in all black smashing windows, damaging the US Capitol — but Wray FBI refuses to look for them.

And Black-clad goons were also the first ones up the steps to smash windows at the US Capitol that day.

#1  Excerpt from 28 July 2021 Gatestone Institute entitled 'Disband The FBI'

  • Questions are now being raised as to whether the FBI had a role in the Capitol Hill protests of January 6, 2021. When one examines the FBI's involvement in the Trump-Russia collusion hoax; Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) abuses; standing by idly while in possession of Hunter Biden's Ukraine and Burisma-laden laptops, while President Trump endured a second phony impeachment; and the frame-up of Trump's National Security Advisor, Lieutenant General Michael Flynn – it is not too difficult to imagine.

Walmart, largest US employer, orders staff to vaccinate
[Aljazeera] Walmart Inc., the largest private employer in the U.S., is requiring its headquarters and regional staff to be vaccinated by Oct. 4, joining Google in instituting a policy that may set a standard for corporate America as the highly contagious delta variant continues to spread.

The mandate covers all campus staff as well as market, regional and divisional employees who work in multiple facilities, Chief Executive Officer Doug McMillon said in a memo Friday. A spokesman couldn’t immediately say how many of the retailer’s 1.5 million-person U.S. workforce will be affected. Walmart separately told its frontline store and warehouse associates Friday to don masks again, and doubled the cash incentive it’s providing for employees to get vaccinated to $150.

    regulations unless the investigator has
    obtained the legally effective informed

    under circumstances that provide the
    prospective subject or the representative
    sufficient opportunity to consider whether
or not to participate and that minimize
the possibility of coercion or undue influence. The information that is given

    (a) Basic elements of informed consent. In seeking informed consent, the
following information shall be provided to each subject:
    (1) A statement that the study involves research, an explanation of the
purposes of the research and the expected duration of the subject's
participation, a description of the procedures to be followed, and
identification of any procedures which are experimental.
    (2) A description of any reasonably foreseeable risks or discomforts to
    the subject.
    (3) A description of any benefits to the subject or to others which may
reasonably be expected from the research.
    (4) A disclosure of appropriate alternative procedures or courses of
treatment, if any, that might be advantageous to the subject.
    (5) A statement describing the extent, if any, to which confidentiality of
records identifying the subject will be maintained and that notes the
possibility that the Food and Drug Administration may inspect the records.
    (6) For research involving more than minimal risk, an explanation as to
whether any compensation and an explanation as to whether any medical
treatments are available if injury occurs and, if so, what they consist
of, or where further information may be obtained.
    (7) An explanation of whom to contact for answers to pertinent questions
about the research and research subjects' rights, and whom to contact in
the event of a research-related injury to the subject.
    (8) A statement that participation is voluntary, that refusal to
participate will involve no penalty or loss of benefits to which the
subject is otherwise entitled, and that the subject may discontinue
participation at any time without penalty or loss of benefits to which the
    subject is otherwise entitled.
    (b) Additional elements of informed consent. When appropriate, one or more
of the following elements of information shall also be provided to each
    subject:
    (1) A statement that the particular treatment or procedure may involve
risks to the subject (or to the embryo or fetus, if the subject is or may
become pregnant) which are currently unforeseeable.
    (1) A written consent document that embodies the elements of informed
consent required by § 50.25. This form may be read to the subject or the
subject's legally authorized representative, but, in any event, the
investigator shall give either the subject or the representative adequate

The Nuremberg Code of Medical Ethics ---- NEXT
    Posted by: Omeack Hapsburg6252 || 07/31/2021 21:12 Comments || Top||

#12  The Nuremberg Code of Medical Ethics
The Nuremberg Code was written in haste by our American Harvard trained physicians in
order to prosecute the Nazi doctors. Keep in mind, we violated these principles before,
during, and after the war. These are ethical principles and are not law. But in spite of our
own sometime medical hypocrisy these principles are commensurate with the true
Hippocratic Oath which is to only act in the interest of the patient, to sanctify life, to do no
harm, to be honest in all dealings and avoid “mischief”, and to keep private the information
given to you as a physician by the patient.
A Concise Summary of the 10 Elements of the Nuremberg Code
    1. Voluntary consent of the human to be experimented upon is
    essential.
    2. The results of any experiment must be for the greater good of
    society.
    3. Human experiments should be based on previous animal
    experimentation.
    4. Experiments should be conducted by avoiding physical/mental
    suffering and injury.
    5. No experiments should be conducted if it is believed to cause
    death/disability.
    6. The risks should never exceed the benefits.
    7. Adequate facilities should be used to protect subjects.
    8. Experiments should be conducted only by qualified scientists.
    9. Subjects should be able to end their participation at any time.
    10. The scientist in charge must be prepared to terminate the
experiment when injury, disability, or death is likely to occur.
The above is a summary provided at Lew Rockwell’s site:

#13  NOTE TO EMPLOYER: As your employee, I am requesting that you review this document,
provide the requisite information, and sign the form, in regards to your requirement that
employees get a Covid- 19 emergency use authorization (EUA) investigational vaccine.
    1) If I agree to receive an EUA Covid-19 injection, does my employee health insurance plan
provide complete coverage should I experience an adverse event, or even death?
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    2) As an employee, does my life insurance policy provide any coverage in the event that I die
from receiving an EUA Covid-19 injection?
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    3) As an employee, will you be providing Workers’ Compensation, disability insurance, or
other resources if I have an adverse event to an EUA Covid-19 injection and am unable to come
to work for days, weeks, or months, or if I am disabled for life?
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    4) The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires that EUA vaccine recipients be provided
with certain vaccine-specific information to help them make an informed decision about
    vaccination.
8 The EUA fact sheets that must be provided are specific to each authorized Covid19 injection and are developed by the manufacturers of the injections (Pfizer/BioNTech,
Moderna, Oxford/AstraZeneca, and the Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Janssen). The fact sheets
must provide the most current and up-to-date information the injections, and vaccine
recipients must also receive information about adverse events. Have you read, understood, and
provided me (and all other employees) with these fact sheets and with current information on
adverse events so that I/we can make an educated decision?
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    5) Have you reviewed the available databases of material adverse events reported to date for
people who have received Covid-19 injections?9,10,11,12 Potential and reported adverse events
include death, anaphylaxis, neurological disorders, autoimmune disorders, other long-term
chronic diseases, blindness and deafness, infertility, fetal damage, miscarriage, and stillbirth.
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    6) The FDA’s guidance13 on emergency use authorization of medical products requires the FDA
to “ensure that recipients are informed to the extent practicable given the applicable
circumstances... [t]hat they have the opon to accept or refuse the EUA product....” Are you
aware of this statement? Have you informed all employees that they have the opon to refuse?
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    7) With respect to the emergency use of an unapproved product, the Federal Food, Drug and
Cosmetic Act, Title 21 U.S.C. 360bbb-3(e)(1)(A)(ii)(I-III)14 reiterates that individuals be informed
of “the opon to accept or refuse administration of the product, [and] of the consequences, if
any, of refusing administration of the product, and of the alternatives to the product that are
available and of their benefits and risks.” If EUA Covid-19 investigational vaccines are ever
approved by the FDA, state legislation would be required to allow companies to mandate the
Covid-19 injections. Are you aware of these facts?
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    _____________________________________________________________________________
    _____________________________________________________________________________
    8) EUA products are unapproved, unlicensed, and experimental. Under the Nuremberg Code—
the foundation of ethical medicine—no one may be coerced to participate in a medical
experiment. The individual’s consent is absolutely essential. No court has ever upheld a
    mandate for an EUA vaccine. In Doe #1 v. Rumsfeld, 297 F. Supp. 2d 119 (2003)15, a federal
court held that the U.S. military could not mandate EUA vaccines for soldiers: “...[T]he United
States cannot demand that members of the armed forces also serve as guinea pigs for
experimental drugs” (Id. at 135). Are you aware of this?
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    9) The United States Code of Federal Regulations16 and the FDA require the informed consent of
human subjects for medical research. The EUA Covid-19 injections are unapproved, unlicensed,
investigational vaccines that are still in their experimental stage. It is unlawful to conduct
medical research on a human being, even in the event of an emergency, unless steps are taken
to secure the informed consent of all participants. Are you aware of this?
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    10) According to Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Guidelines17 and the FTC’s “Truth In
    Advertising,”18 promotional material—and especially material involving health-related
products—cannot mislead consumers, omit important information, or express claims. All of this
falls under the rubric of “deceptive advertising” (whereby a company is providing or endorsing
a product), whether presented in the form of an ad, on a website, through email, on a poster,
or in the mail. For example, statements such as “all employees are required to get the Covid-19
vaccine to make the workspace safe” or “it’s safe and effective” leave out critical information.
Critical information includes the facts that Covid-19 injections are unapproved EUA vaccines
that “may” or “may not” prevent Covid, won’t necessarily make the workspace safer, and could
in fact cause harm. Not providing links or attachments of the manufacturers’ fact sheets and
current information on adverse events is omitting safety information. Are you aware of this?
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    11) Since the Covid lockdowns began over one year ago, there have been over 178 reported
breaches of unsecured protected health information (PHI), incidents investigated by the Office
for Civil Rights (OCR). These breaches exposed millions of people’s personal health information.
Although many of these incidents were attributed to hacking, some of the breaches to PHI fell
directly under the 1996 Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), such as
sharing a patient’s or person’s information with an unauthorized individual or incorrectly
handling PHI.19 Can you please explain your obligations to me, under HIPAA law, and how you
are going to protect my personal information - both with respect to your requirement that I
    receive this injection?
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    ____________________________________________________________________________
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    12) Whereas pharmaceutical companies that manufacture EUA vaccines have been protected
from liability related to injuries or deaths caused by experimental agents since the PREP Act1
was enacted in 2005, companies and all other institutions or individuals who mandate
experimental vaccines on any human being are not protected from liability. Are you aware
that you do not enjoy such liability protection?
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    13) Are you aware that employees could lodge a civil suit against you should they suffer an
adverse event, death, or termination from their place of employment?
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    ______________________________________________________________________________
    ______________________________________________________________________________
As the legally authorized officer of the employer/company, I have read all of the above
information, have provided my employees with all of the information that the FDA requires be
provided to recipients of the Covid-19 injections, and do hereby agree to assume 100% financial
responsibility for covering any and all expenses from adverse events, including death, through
insurance coverage or directly. In addition, I affirm that the employee will not be subjected to
the loss of their job should they decline to receive a Covid-19 injection.

Support for Speaker Pelosi's select Jan. 6 committee waning after first hearing, poll
[Just The News] A poll released this week after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s first special Jan. 6 committee hearing indicates Americans’ waning interest in the probe.

The Morning Consult poll polls released Thursday found 53% of all respondents now support the investigation, down from 66% in the survey in June and 58% just a week ago.

The findings follow testimony Tuesday by four police officers on duty during the Jan. 6 breach of the U.S. Capitol. Their emotional testimony about efforts to keep protestors out of the building resulted in tearful responses from at least two members of the 9-member committee.

The poll also found four out of five Democrats are now in favor of the probe, compared to about a quarter for Republicans and half for independents.

Just 49 percent of respondents said they had watched all or even part of the 3.5 hour hearing.

Pelosi formed the committee and appointed all of the members — including GOP Reps. Liz Cheney, of Wyoming, and Adam Kinzinger of Illinois — after failing to get congressional support for an independent, 9/11-type committee. Pelosi’s committee could call members for former President Trump’s inner circle to testify.

    -Great Cultural Revolution
Two Americas, Two Different Belief Systems
[American Thinker] With proper credit given to Mr. Charles Dickens, for many Americans living today in America, "these are the worst of times." A time period that many of us have never lived in. A time period that many of us had never thought would happen in America. A time period where we shudder to think what our children and children's children might live under. Certainly, the worst of times that we have known.

What is becoming increasingly clear is that America is disintegrating into two warring factions. For most of the 20th century, Americans had about 35% of the voters voting conservative/Republican and 35% voting liberal/Democrat, with a healthy 30% in the middle. This 30% in the middle kept us from tearing apart. Kept us sane and balanced. But since 2000, voters and voting patterns began to change dramatically. Now, in 2021, about 48% of the voters view themselves as RedState Patriots, and about 48% of the voters view themselves as BlueState Progressives. This leaves a slim 4% (if that much) in the middle.

Americans need to start asking themselves, "Is this what we really want?" Is the country being so deeply divided and fractured what we really desire? Or is it basically okay because we just don't have that much in common anymore? Some have stated that maybe it is time for a peaceful, nonviolent dissolution from each other. But is this what we really want?

Imagine the two separate belief systems. Notice how diametrically different Side A is from Side B. Be aware of just how different the cultures, customs, and norms are. Notice that the two sides do not resemble each other at all, and they look as if they had two separate histories; they certainly look as if they are demanding extremely different futures. And one characteristic that makes it more crucial is that the red states and the blue states can be found by locations and regions. Red and blue states do not look like a checkerboard evenly spread out throughout America. They are heavily regionalized. Because of this regionalization, it becomes much easier to separate. If it looked like a checkerboard, evenly distributed, it would not be easy to divide.

Scientists Urge Supreme Court To Uphold Abortion Ban
[Free Beacon] A group of scientists is urging the Supreme Court to uphold a crucial abortion restriction, arguing that previous legal decisions contradict modern understandings of fetal development.

The 15-week abortion ban in Mississippi is not only constitutional but also better aligns state policy with scientific realities, according to a brief filed by Dr. Maureen Condic, a faculty member in the University of Utah School of Medicine specializing in human embryology, in collaboration with the pro-life Charlotte Lozier Institute. Legal precedent since Roe v. Wade does not allow states to restrict abortion prior to fetal viability, which is loosely defined as 24 weeks. This precedent, the brief states, must be updated to reflect modern understandings of fetal development that were not known at the time of earlier abortion cases.

"Because scientific understanding of human fetal life has expanded exponentially in the decades since those decisions, this Court should revisit its prior precedents to incorporate the compelling state interests implicated by current scientific knowledge about pre-viability fetal life," says the brief, which was filed to the Supreme Court on Thursday.

Studies have consistently found that the unborn begin to feel pain around 12 to 18 weeks, and 4-D imaging has found advanced neurologic and behavioral developments as early as 12 weeks. This updated scientific understanding, the scientists noted, leaves a legal uncertainly that should allow for the states to make decisions for themselves on when to limit abortion access.

"Such objective evidence of active fetal consciousness dispels any indeterminacy about whether the human fetus is either alive or capable of independent subjective experience," the brief says. "It also requires reevaluation of the State's compelling interest in protecting that conscious human life."

Chuck Donovan, president of the Charlotte Lozier Institute, said the legal argument against Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey, another case that upheld abortion rights, is simple: Follow the science.

"Those precedents are not merely out of date, but severely out of touch and cruel given the undeniable evidence that a living, sentient human being exists in the womb," Donovan said in a statement. "Late-term abortion limits are grounded in science and compassion for mother and baby."

'Special counsel' empowered to hire investigators for Wisconsin 2020 election review
[Washington Examiner] A "special counsel" has been appointed the power to expand a GOP-backed investigation into the 2020 election in Wisconsin.

That's the label Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos gave to former state Supreme Court Justice Michael Gableman, who was granted the authority to hire full-time investigators for a "top-to-bottom investigation."

Roughly two months ago, Vos hired retired police officers for the task, along with Gableman, to oversee the effort at a tab of $11,000 in taxpayer money each month, but the speaker told the Associated Press on Friday the ex-law enforcement officials quit earlier this month.

"After talking with our original investigative team, we realize that the part-time nature of these contracts is less time than is needed to complete the investigation," the Republican said in a statement. "Justice Gableman will have the resources and ability to determine the need for any future adjustments."

On June 27 a drone dropped off two explosives at the Jammu air base in which two personnel sustained minor injuries. There have been a spate of drone sightings in the aftermath of that incident. The NIA took up the probe into the case.

Last week the NIA arrested two forces of Evil of the LeM, an offshoot of the JeM. The case was registered in the Gangyal District of Jammu in February this year. The case relates to a conspiracy by the terror group which is affiliated to the Jaish-e-Mohammad.

The group had planned on carrying on terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir with an intention of threatening the illusory sovereignty, integrity and security of India. Investigation has revealed that both the aforementioned arrested accused persons were co- conspirators and were involved in transportation of two separate consignments of illegal arms/ammunition from Bihar to Mohali and Ambala. The said weapons were further transported to the accused Hidayat Ullah Malik, self declared commander-in-chief of LeM in Jammu and Kashmir.

Philippine, US Troop Pact in ‘Full Force Again’
[BenarNews] The 70-year-old defense alliance between Manila and Washington is back on track after Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte said he would fully restore a key bilateral military pact following his meeting with Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin in Manila, officials announced Friday.

The U.S. defense secretary visited the Philippine capital as he wrapped up a weeklong tour of three Southeast Asian countries located in the heart of the contested South China Sea, a geopolitical issue that headlined the agenda during his stops in Singapore, Hanoi and Manila.

On Friday, Austin’s Philippine counterpart, Delfin Lorenzana, who challenged recent incursions by Chinese ships into Philippine-claimed territory in strategic waterway, announced the decision about the 1999 Visiting Forces Agreement.

#7  4-2021: During a phone call on Friday, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Philippine Secretary of Foreign Affairs Teodoro Locsin discussed concerns about the build-up of China’s maritime militia in the disputed waters, including Whitsun Reef, according to a U.S. readout. They reiterated calls for China to abide by the 2016 arbitration ruling issued pursuant to the Law of the Sea Convention. The growing tension comes as Chinese vessels — initially numbering in the hundreds — were spotted at Whitsun Reef, prompting protests from Manila. The U.S. last month said it stands by the Philippines while accusing China of using a “maritime militia to intimidate, provoke and threaten other nations.” China said last month that the ships were simply “taking shelter from the wind” and the Philippines should view the situation in a “rational light.”

    Syria-Lebanon-Iran
FBI probe shows amount of chemicals in Beirut blast was a fraction of original shipment
[AlAhram] The blast was one of the largest non-nuclear explosions ever recorded, killing more than 200 people, wounding thousands, and devastating swathes of Beirut.

The amount of ammonium nitrate that blew up at Beirut port last year was one fifth of the shipment unloaded there in 2013, the FBI
...Formerly one of the world's premier criminal investigation organizations, something for a nation to be proud of. Now it's a political arm of the Deep State oligarchy that is willing to trump up charges, suppress evidence, or take out insurance policies come election time...
concluded after the blast, adding to suspicions that much of the cargo had gone missing.

As the first anniversary approaches on Aug. 4, major questions remain unanswered, including how a huge quantity of ammonium nitrate - which can be used to make fertiliser or bombs - was left unsafely stored in a capital city for years.

The blast was one of the largest non-nuclear explosions ever recorded, killing more than 200 people, wounding thousands, and devastating swathes of Beirut.

The FBI's Oct. 7, 2020 report, which was seen by Rooters this week, estimates around 552 tonnes of ammonium nitrate went kaboom! that day, much less than the 2,754 tonnes that arrived on a Russian-leased fat merchantman in 2013.

The FBI report does not give any explanation as to how the discrepancy arose, or where the rest of the shipment may have gone.

In response to a detailed request for comment, an FBI spokesperson referred Rooters to the Lebanese authorities.

FBI Sherlocks came to Beirut after the blast at Leb
...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers, a practice dating back to the heady human sacrifice days of Baal Moloch. In 2020 Hezbollahblew up a considerable portion of Beirut and many of its inhabitants when its ammonium nitrate faci8lity exploded. They blamed it on... somebody else. It wasn't them though. Trust them on that...
    's request.

A senior Lebanese official who was aware of the FBI report and its findings said the Lebanese authorities agreed with the Bureau on the quantity that went kaboom!.

Many officials in Lebanon have previously said in private they believe a lot of the shipment was stolen.

The ammonium nitrate was going from Georgia to Mozambique on a Russian-leased fat merchantman when the captain says he was instructed to make an unscheduled stop in Beirut and take on extra cargo.

The ship arrived in Beirut in November 2013 but never left, becoming tangled in a legal dispute over unpaid port fees and ship defects. No one ever came forward to claim the shipment.

The senior Lebanese official said there were no firm conclusions as to why the quantity that went kaboom! was less than the original shipment. One theory was that part of it was stolen. A second theory was that only part of the shipment detonated, with the rest blown out to sea, the official said.

The FBI report said "an approximate amount reaching around 552 metric tonnes of ammonium nitrate went kaboom! in warehouse 12".

It noted the warehouse was large enough to house the 2,754 tonne shipment, which was stored in one-tonne bags, but added "it is not logical that all of them were present at the time of the earth-shattering kaboom".

Fertilizer is most efficiently used to feed crops. That's probably where it went. Lebanon has been an Iranian province in all but name since the 80's, when Hezbollah took over after Israel evicted the PLO, so there's no shortage of ordnance of all kinds.
    Posted by: Zhang Fei || 07/31/2021 15:02 Comments || Top||

#5  There's a possibility that militias opposed to Hezbollah might have stolen some of the fertilizer since it's harder for them to get explosives. When you're building a car bomb, fertilizer, while inferior to Semtex, is better than grocery store chemicals. Given the amount of weaponry sloshing through Iraq and Syria due to decades of insurgency, I'd be surprised if better bomb materials than fertilizer weren't readily available. Lebanon has long and porous borders. It's known as the bazaar of the region for a reason.

Joe Biden in a statement said that he is fulfilling his promise of bringing thousands of Afghans who have worked shoulder-to-shoulder with American troops during the past twenty years in Afghanistan.

The batch is first of the over seven hundred families that Joe Biden had pledged to be flown out directly to the United States. As per the plan, thousands of other applicants of SIV will be taken to a third country of US military base in a third country until their paper works get completed.

The White House statement further reads that Joe Biden thanked all the Afghans who have contributed to their mission in Afghanistan and said to be proud of them all.

On Thursday, Congress overwhelmingly passed the bill based on which 8 thousand additional visas were to be granted for Afghans who have worked alongside Americans in Afghanistan.
Biden said that these first Afghans are able to come directly to the United States because they have already completed extensive background checks and security screening by the Intelligence Community and the Departments of State and Homeland Security.

They will complete the final steps of their visa applications and required medical checks at Fort Lee, in Virginia, before traveling onward to begin their new lives in the United States, the statement said.

Calling Chicago "Chiraq" is now an insult to Iraq
[John Kass] Every Monday in the city of anarchy, on what Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot once called "Accountability Mondays" without irony, the media tallies the number of the weekend murdered dead and the wounded.

And the Democrat politicians point fingers at each other.

More than 70 people were shot this past weekend, with 12 dead. Over the July 4 weekend, more than 100 people were shot, among them more than a dozen children, and 19 were killed. And so on, weekend after weekend, weekday after weekday.

Violence, the fear of violence and its after-effects are the top issues in Chicago.

More than 2,000 people have been shot this year, more than a 60 percent increase compared to 2019. The crime website heyjackass.com, puts the number at 2,064 shot and wounded so far, reporting that 428 have been shot and killed.

"Another bloody weekend," tweeted my friend Tom Bevan, co-founder of Real Clear Politics "Calling the city Chiraq is now an insult to Iraq."

He did provide the headline to this column. But let’s understand why it is an insult to Iraq. Chicago’s crime statistics, as bad as they are, don’t tell the full story. There were 970 murders in 1974—a record year for homicides—but Chicago’s population then was more than 3 million and half the city was considered middle class.

In the nearly 50 years since then, Chicago has continued to shrink and decay—beset by woefully inept governance and poisonous policies that ground down all but the most connected of the politically connected.

Hundreds of thousands have left town since then. Chicago’s middle class is all but gone. The working classes of all races and ethnicities, which gave this city its defining character for toughness and endurance, have been decimated. Many make plans to leave. Many more are just stuck.

So, what we’re witnessing in Chicago is not simply a return to some abstract high-crime statistic which could be debated ad nauseum by the sophists and excuse makers.

We’re seeing something else: the symptoms of death. And of civic anarchy, a breakdown and fragmentation, and literal chaos at the most fundamental levels of a once-great city, the most American of all American cities.

The Democratic elite which has controlled this town and state for almost 100 years—with support of eager Republican handmaidens in what I’ve long called The Combine—don’t have a clue on how to fix it. And they most likely wouldn’t be able to recognize a solution if it slapped them in the face.

Instead, they keep following the same policies year after year, indulging themselves in the rhetoric of race, all the while clinging to an ideological prism that offers them comfort and plaudits from the national party but blinds them to the realities on the ground.

In this they are very much like the tinkerers and architects of American foreign policy in Afghanistan and Iraq, which for decades was sustained by fantasy. And that fantasy fed death and ruin to American soldiers and to the Afghan and Iraqi peoples.

Wedded to their ideology and their partisanship, they don’t dare to question Democratic policies that have that have led Chicago and much of urban America to decay and despair.

US hails EU’s decision to adopt new sanctions regime on individuals in Lebanon that have caused the crisis-struck nation to an almost complete collapse
    [PUBLISH.TWITTER]

After years of being urged to do so, the EU announced a sanctions regime that includes potential travel bans to the EU and asset freezes on entities linked to those sanctioned.

For the latest headlines, follow our Google News channel online or via the app.

According to a senior EU diplomat, Hungary was still opposed to the sanctions regime until late Thursday. Hungary has voiced its public support for Gebran Bassil, the Lebanese president’s son-in-law who was sanctioned by the US last year for acts of corruption.

The US has mainly been the sole enforcer of sanctions on Lebanese officials for acts of corruption or their ties to Hezbollah, a designated terrorist organization by Washington and several European and Gulf countries.

But France, which distinguishes between the Iran-backed group’s so-called military and political wings, has been the major obstacle in the face of a unified international policy for Beirut.

US-based sources familiar with the matter have said the US is working on announcing more sanctions on Lebanese politicians or members of their inner circles in the near future.

Americans and Russians fighting in Hasakah:
[SyrianObserver] Local sources circulated a video showing clashes between Russian and U.S. forces in the countryside of Hassakeh, according to SY-24.

Local sources circulated a video showing clashes of hands between Russian and U.S. patrol agents in the countryside of Hassakeh in eastern Syria.

According to the sources, U.S. armored vehicles blocked a patrol of Russian forces between the villages of Batrzan and Derni in the Hasaka countryside.

She noted that the dispute in Hassakeh had developed into clashes between Russian and U.S. soldiers, without any information on casualties or injuries between the two parties.

The incident provoked sarcastic reactions on social media from Syrians, who said the eastern region has frequently experienced differences between Russian and U.S. forces.

These differences are due to a desire to penetrate east of the Euphrates, as it is a strategic area with a large number of oil and gas wells.

Syrian military stabilizes situation in Daraa province, Russian Defense Ministry says
[TASS] Since July 30 a ceasefire has been established

"The efforts of the armed forces of the Syrian Arab Republic have stabilized the situation in Daraa, and since July 30 a ceasefire has been established. Syria’s security structures reached agreements with the leaders of armed formations on settling the situation," he said.

The official reiterated that "in recent days the situation in the area of the populated locality of Daraa al-Balad of Daraa province has significantly aggravated where armed clashes between groups of illegal armed formations and Syria’s law enforcement have become more frequent."

"On July 30, the militants of illegal armed formations acting on the territory of the Idlib de-escalation zone controlled by Turkey’s armed forces, opened mortar fire on the positions of Syria’s government forces. From the area of the populated locality of Kafer Hanni in Aleppo province, the militants fired two 120-mm mines on the positions of the Syrian Arab Republic’s armed forces in the area of the populated locality of Urum es-Sughra southwest of Aleppo. As a result of the shelling, three servicemen of the Syrian Arab Army sustained wounds," he said.

Tunisia: Downfall of the Brotherhood's last bastion
    What a delightful thought.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] It seems that the doors have been closed to the Moslem Brüderbund [MB]. Even its alternative capital, Istanbul, no longer welcomes Brotherhood runaways. Following in the footsteps of Egypt and Sudan, Tunisia announces the death of the MB’s dominion. Tunisia, which was the first gateway for the movement and its key gain in the last decade, is now the last of the Brotherhood’s crumbling bastions.

The downfall of MB in Tunisia now is unsurprising; rather, it occurred years later than when it was supposed to. They lost Tunisia because they were partners in the country’s governance before they were kicked out, prompting them to resort to chaos, liquidations, and deliberate obstructive acts to thwart government action.

Although Tunisian President Kais Saied gave clear warnings that what was happening would force him to intervene, Brotherhood members believed that he would not dare do anything and that they would seize power by destroying its key figures.

Indian state of Assam issues travel advisory after deadly border clash
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The Indian state of Assam has advised its residents to avoid travelling to neighboring Mizoram after six coppers were rubbed out in a rare border clash between the two regions.

India’s northeast has been a hotbed of ethnic tensions since independence in 1947 and borders between its seven states are not clearly defined.

Assam and Mizoram have been wrangling over their frontier for decades, but tensions erupted on Monday with six police rubbed out and more than 60 injured.

"Given the critical situation, the people of Assam are advised not to travel to Mizoram," the travel advisory issued on Thursday said.

It recommended those already there "exercise utmost caution" and said "many civilians are heavily armed with automatic weapons."

India has longstanding border disputes with China and Pakistain but the clash between two of its own states has been an embarrassment for the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Both states have blamed each other for the violence.

    K. Vanlalvena, a Mizoram politician in India’s upper house, stoked tensions on Wednesday when he was quoted by media as saying his state was ready for more violence.

"More than 200 coppers entered our territory and they pushed back our coppers from our own posts and they gave firing orders first, before we fired," Vanlalvena reportedly said.

"They are lucky that we didn’t kill them all. If they come again, we shall kill them all."

Russian shipbuilders to lay down six more keels next week
[TASS] The shipyards of Russia’s United Shipbuilding Corporation will lay down six warships and submarines on August 9-10, a source in the domestic shipbuilding industry told TASS on Friday.

"As of now, there is no exact date but there are plans to lay down two Project 955A Borei-A-class strategic nuclear-powered missile-carrying underwater cruisers, two Project 20380 corvettes and two Project 636.3 submarines," the source said, adding that the launch of the warships’ construction was previously planned to take place on the eve of Russia’s Victory Day on May 9.

Two strategic nuclear-powered submarines will be laid down at the Sevmash Shipyard in Russia’s northwest, two corvettes at the Amur Shipbuilding Plant in the Russian Far East and two Varshavyanka-class conventional subs at the Admiralty Shipyard in St. Petersburg, the source specified.

The Sevmash Shipyard will lay the keel of the strategic nuclear-powered underwater cruisers Dmitry Donskoi and Knyaz Potyomkin, the Admiralty Shipyard will lay down the submarines Mozhaisk and Yakutsk (the fifth and sixth subs in a series of six Project 636.3 diesel-electric submarines for the Russian Pacific Fleet) while the corvettes that will be laid down at the Amur Shipbuilding Plant have been named the Grozny and Buiniy, he said.

    #1  Just some numbers:

Borei class SSBN: First of class laid down '96, launched 2008. Entered service 2013. Elapsed time 17 years. Five boats completed to date. For reference, it took them six years to crank out the latest one, Knyaz Oleg.

Projekt 20380 Stergushiy class corvette: Construction started in 2001, took 7 years to complete the first ship. Since then they have completed 6 more.

Projekt 636.3 Kilo class SS: A Cold War holdover, though a good one. 34 built -for the Russians, 46 more for the rest of the world - since 1980, an average of 0.80 boats per year.

All of this is warmed-over Cold War technology.

Afghanistan: Heavy clashes between Taliban and government forces in Herat
    [PUBLISH.TWITTER]

    Colonel Cassad adds:
Today the American B-52s attacked Taliban militants in the area of the provincial capital of Herat, which is in fact surrounded by the Taliban. It is believed that the US Air Force strikes were in response to the Taliban shelling of the UN office in Herat, as a result of which the police officers guarding the UN were injured (one of them died), as well as threats of the loss of the capital. On this occasion, UN officials condemned the attack and called on the Taliban to be more responsible and hinted that the Taliban are lying when they say they have nothing to do with it.

Herat Airport is under threat of loss.
A month ago, the Italians handed it over to the Afghan army.

It was occupied by Taliban fighters tonight, but the government says the militants were forced out of the airport.

Also during the fighting in Herat, the commander of the 1st brigade was captured along with four bodyguards. Apart from the Humvees, shooters and ammunition are still available.

In general, despite the pretentious statements about the imminent counteroffensive of the Afghan army, so far it is with great difficulty holding the provincial centers. The Taliban obviously has full operational initiative and can choose the place and time of launching new attacks, concentrating significant forces in key areas, which translates into an expansion of the sphere of control over small cities and rural areas, as a result of which more Afghans are already living in the territories controlled by the Taliban. than in government-controlled territory.

Boris Rozhin is a Russian military journalist

The Story behind the Taliban attack on UN facility:
US authorities condemn attack on UN base in Afghan Herat
[REGNUM] The attack by militants on the headquarters of the United Nations (UN) mission in the Afghan city of Herat is strongly condemned by the American authorities, said in a statement on July 30, the US Permanent Representative to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield.

The diplomat noted that Washington is urging to find and punish the perpetrators of this crime. In addition, according to Thomas-Greenfield, the US government continues to call for an immediate end to clashes in the republic, which worsen the humanitarian situation and lead to the death of local residents, as well as an increase in the flow of refugees.

As reported by IA REGNUM , on July 30 the headquarters of the UN mission in Herat was fired upon from artillery and grenade launchers. As a result of the attack, an Afghan police officer was killed and several other security officials were injured.

Flights Canceled at Herat Airport as Clashes Enter 2nd Day
[ToloNews] All flights were canceled at the Herat airport on the second day of clashes between government forces and the Taliban near the city of Herat in the west of Afghanistan on Friday, sources said.

Sources said that Taliban attacked a UN office in Herat and some outposts in the south of the city. Two security guards at the UN office were killed in the attack, sources from Herat said.

Dozens of families in the south of the city of Herat left their houses as clashes intensified there on Friday.

“People have left their houses… Taliban and other terrorist groups should realize that today’s Afghanistan is not the one it was 20 years ago,” said Abdul Qayum Rezaee, a Herat resident.

“Taliban should agree on peace if they are Muslims,” said Wali Mohammad, a Herat resident.

One of the frontlines was on the two sides of Malan Bridge in the south of the city.

Najibullah, an army soldier, said he is fighting against the Taliban on the frontline for the last two days. He said Taliban have stationed in people’s houses and that this impedes progress in their operations.

“Taliban are using people’s houses as a shield. We have not started our operation against the Taliban to avoid harm to civilians,” Najibullah said.

“We are not making progress to avoid harm to civilians. Taliban are attacking us using people’s houses and mosques,” said Mohammad Ismail, an army officer in Herat.

The public resistance force led by former mujahedeen leader and Jamiat-e-Islami’s senior member Mohammad Ismail Khan are also fighting against the Taliban in support of the Afghan forces.

“The enemy had an attack and we pushed their attack by imposing casualties to them. We saw some Taliban bodies and they were Pakistanis,” said Mohammad Amiri, a member of public resistance force.

“We are defending the country and the honor of the country. Our jihad against the Taliban will continue,” said Sayed Ahmad, a public resistance force member.

The government and the Taliban claim to have inflicted casualties on each other in Herat clashes, but no details are available in this respect.

Border 'emergency': Graham, Cuellar urge Biden to tap Jeh Johnson as czar
[NYPOST] A House Democrat and a Republican senator have joined together in urging President Joe Biden
...... 46th president of the U.S. Joe's wife and daughter weren't killed by a drunk driver. He didn't graduate with three or even two degrees, wasn't in the top half of his law class, and his daddy didn't come home from a hard day's work in the mines and play football with the guys. ...Dem representative for Texas' 28th congressional district, serving since 2005. He was a professor at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) in Laredo. He has positioned himself as a strong advocate for education. Prior to being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives he was a member of the Texas House 1987 to 2001....
    (D-Texas) and Sen. Lindsey Graham
...soft-spoken senator from South Carolina, former best buddy of John Maverick McCain. Since McCain's demise, Graham has become more outspoken, more Republican and more of a supporter of President Trump. The speech he gave in support of Brett Kavanaugh was downright manly and really cheesed off the Dems...
(R-SC) sent a letter to the president on Friday pointing out the need for "a special executive appointment for border issues."

"We write to you with a sense of urgency regarding the escalating situation at our southern border. In doing so, we hope to demonstrate that this bicameral concern is neither partisan nor political," the politicians wrote.

The role would ensure "sufficient federal resources are allocated to overturned U.S. border communities, and to recommend changes to our immigration policies as we work to regain control of the border."

The two cited the massive surge in illegal crossings at the United States border with Mexico, calling it a "humanitarian and public safety emergency."

"Department of Homeland Security (’DHS’) facilities and personnel are overwhelmed by the growing surge of migrants colonists, many of whom are unaccompanied children. We know this current influx is neither seasonal nor temporary," they wrote.

ISIS kills seven; wounds 17 people in Saladin
[SHAFAQ] A security source reported on Friday, that 24 people were killed and maimed in an ISIS attack in Saladin.

The source told Shafaq News Agency that ISIS members attacked a funeral in the village of Albu Jili on the outskirts of Yathrib district, south of Saladin.

He added, "festivities erupted between ISIS and the citizens, which killed seven, and maimed 17 others."

He confirmed that police forces rushed to the scene of the accident but ISIS elements withdrew to the orchards near the accident.

For his part; The Governor of Saladin condemned the attack considering it "a dangerous sign, and we must all be aware of this danger..."

al-Jabr directed the security services to begin investigating to find the perpetrators.

It’s noteworthy that the outskirts of Yathrib contain hideouts for terrorist organizations due to the density of orchards.

In the same context, another security source said ISIS turbans killed a farmer and his mother north of the capital, Baghdad.

Iraq declared final victory over ISIS in 2017 after Iraqi forces drove its last remnants from the country, three years after the hard boy group captured about a third of Iraq’s territory.

Yet, ISIS still has sleeper cells in several Iraqi Governorates.

The terrorist organization is recently active in different areas in the country by killing and kidnapping citizens as well as clashing with the security forces.

Tunisia president says he will not become a dictator
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Tunisia’s president promised on Friday he would not turn into a dictator and rejected accusations he had staged a coup, as two parliament members were arrested following his decision to lift their immunity when he seized control of government this week.

Tunisia has been thrust into a political crisis by President Kais Saied’s move on Sunday to dismiss the prime minister and freeze parliament for 30 days, leading major parties to accuse him of a coup.

Saied has yet to carry out steps that critics say are needed to reassure Tunisians, including the appointment of an interim prime minister and a roadmap to end the emergency measures.

"I know the constitutional texts very well, respect them and taught them and after all this time I will not turn into a dictator as some have said," the presidency quoted the former law professor saying.

Concerns over rights and freedoms in Tunisia, a democracy since the 2011 revolution, rose on Friday after the arrest of parliamentarian and influential blogger Yassin Ayari and the announcement of investigations into alleged violence by people protesting Saied’s actions during a demonstration on Monday.

The military judiciary said Ayari had been imprisoned by a judicial ruling issued three years ago for defaming the army. Saied on Sunday removed the immunity of parliament members, leaving any with cases against them vulnerable to arrest.

Another member of parliament, Maher Zid of the conservative Moslem Karama party, was detained late on Friday, according to his lawyer, after being sentenced to two years in prison in 2018 for offending people on social media and insulting the then president.

On Monday, the biggest party in parliament, the moderate Islamist Ennahda, held a sit-in outside parliament after it was surrounded by the army. Hundreds of supporters of Ennahda and Saied confronted each other, some throwing stones or bottles.

The judiciary said it had opened investigations into four people linked to Ennahda for "attempting to commit acts of violence" during the protest, including a member of a party council and two members with connections to its leader.

'Inflation Storm' Looms as Expectations Hit 13-Year High, Consumer Sentiment Sinks
[BREITBART] Americans expect more inflation this year and remain uneasy about the direction of the economy, the University of Michigan’s survey of consumers showed Friday.

Expected inflation over the next year rose to 4.7 percent from 4.2 percent in June. That’s the highest level in over a decade.

At least for now, however, Americans still believe that inflation will remain tame over the long term. Expected inflation over the next five years is just 2.8 percent, down from 3 percent in May.

"While most consumers still expect inflation to be transitory, there is growing evidence that an inflation storm is likely to develop on the not too distant horizon. The improved finances of consumers have greatly reduced consumers’ resistance to price increases," said Richard Curtin, the chief economist of the survey.

Curtin explained the possible dynamic for inflation lasting longer than thought:

Consumers and firms currently justify their actions as temporary adjustments due to the pandemic. However justified, such changes act to generate an upward spiral in prices and wages. Moreover, the fiscal and monetary policies already in place, and the likely increases and continued accommodation now contemplated, will only increase the willingness of consumers and firms to act in ways that accelerate the upward spiral in prices and wages.

The second and final reading of the University of Michigan’s consumer sentiment index showed a sharp decline to 81.2 in July from a reading of 85.5 in June. The current conditions component declined 4.6 percent and the expectations component fell 5.4 percent.

In his analysis, Curtin says the falling income inequality will mean more spending power in the hands of the less well off. Because the propensity to spend is greater for the less wealthy, rising incomes will result in more spending, more growth, and more inflation, according to Curtin.

"The booms will end in the same way as usual: rising prices will eventually outdistance wage gains, lowering living standards, and cause an economy-wide retrenchment in spending," Curtin said.

#1  Keep up with the inflation talk, people will not buy what they don't need; required - food, shelter, clothing, fuel for homes/transport, water and electricity.
After that, its all elective or emergency (medical) spending. Good Luck trying to 'revive' the economy.

Libya's Human Rights Commission Condemns Armed Clashes near Tripoli
[LIBYAREVIEW] The National Commission for Human Rights in Libya (NCHRL) strongly condemned the armed festivities that broke out on Friday, west of Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
Armed groups used heavy and medium weapons, and reportedly randomly shelled residential neighbourhoods.

The NCHRL rejected the renewed armed festivities, violence, and destabilizing security. It also expressed its "severe dissatisfaction" with the weakness of the security system in western Libya.

The NCHRL called on the Government of National Unity (GNU) to assume its "legal and ethical" responsibilities in stopping the festivities, and ensuring the safety of civilians.

It also called on the Interior Ministry and the Attorney General’s Office to open a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances of these festivities.

    Prediction:
Given that Trump's returns have been scrutinized for years, I don't expect any news on the tax crime front. There will be shocking revelations like the fact that Trump has paid *NO TAXES* on a bazillion dollars in real estate investments. (tl;dr: that is how capital gains work, you rubes)

While it may be fun to use the legal system to torment your enemies, this will also keep Trump's name in the news. Confidence in our institutions will continue to erode. I wonder if the media will resurrect the "Walls are closing in" meme.

[BreakingDefense] TEL AVIV: Defense sources say the Israeli military is planning to change its tactics in Syria to revolve around long-range standoff munitions as opposed to air strikes, following a new Russian policy to use its higher-end air defense systems capable of shooting down Israeli jets over Syrian airspace.

The change follows an announcement late last week by Rear Adm. Vadim Kulit, the head of the Russian military reconciliation center in Syria, who said in a TV interview that the Russian forces assisted the Syrians in intercepting four missiles launched by Israeli F-16s — the first time Russian assistance was given to counter Israeli military operations.

Lebanon army warns against Israeli moves on border; says won't let country plunge into chaos
[Iran Press TV] The commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces has warned Israel against any provocative moves across the country's borders, saying the forces will allow no one to take advantage of Leb
...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. In 2020 Hezbollah blew up a considerable portion of Beirut and many of its inhabitants when its ammonium nitrate facility exploded. They blamed it on... somebody else. It wasn't them though. Trust them on that...
's political and economic crises to foment instability there.

"We keep an eye on our border to confront the Israeli enemy's danger, which has recently stepped up its aggressiveness against Lebanon and threatened to wage a new war," Joseph Aoun said on Friday on the occasion of the Lebanese Army Day.

"The Lebanese armed forces will remain the safety valve of our homeland and the backbone of the state. We will remain faithful to our oath no matter how rough the road or heavy the challenges. Our priority has been and will remain to protect and fortify the military," Aoun said.

The Israeli military violates Lebanon's airspace from time to time and sporadically fires missiles into the the Lebanese territory against the positions of the Hezbollah resistance movement.

Lebanon and the occupying entity are technically at war since the latter has kept the Arab country's Shebaa Farms under occupation since 1967.

Lebanon fought off two Israeli wars in 2000 and 2006. About 1,200 Lebanese, most of them civilians, bit the dust during Israel's 33-day war on Lebanon back in the summer of 2006.

Since Hezbollah was established following the 1982 Israeli invasion and occupation of southern Lebanon, the movement has grown into a powerful military force, dealing repeated blows to the Israeli military.

There are about 164 million fully vaccinated citizens. The number of breakthrough cases in this group is about 112,000 (these numbers change daily). I get about 0.0007 or about 0.07% of the population of fully vaccinated people. The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are about 95% effective. That would suggest that as much as 5% of the population might experience a breakthrough case of the disease. Some of these cases have occurred during the 2 week period after full vaccination before full effectiveness is achieved. Some of these cases occur with older people with 2 or more co-morbidities; in other words, people with compromised immune systems. There will be a few flukes within the breakthrough cases

I was just looking at gross numbers and did not look at adverse effect of the vaccines that are being reported. Some of this might be embedded in the gross breakthrough case numbers.

Many have come to expect that we will be protected from everything with no risks. We need to live our lives without all the hysteria and misinformation coming out Washington, D.C. and other places.

Minnesota woman beheaded in broad daylight, allegedly by boyfriend
[NYPOST] A 55-year-old woman was beheaded in broad daylight near Minneapolis on Wednesday, and her abusive boyfriend was arrested for the killing, reports said.

The decapitated body of America Mafalda Thayer was discovered lying on the ground next to a car by cops who responded to a stabbing in Shakopee, Minnesota, according to KMSP.

Officers recovered a large knife in an alley nearby. Thayer’s boyfriend, 42-year-old Alexis Saborit, was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder, police said.

Thayer worked at the Dollar Tree and My Pillow, where co-workers said she was in a long-term relationship with the suspect and was allegedly abused by him, the network reported.

Saborit had previously been convicted of gross misdemeanor domestic assault, the station said.

Friends remembered Thayer, a Cuban immigrant, as hardworking, kind and warm, according to SW News Media.

Nicky Kendrick knew the victim for five years and said she used to visit her every day at work, the outlet reported.

“She was soft-spoken, so funny and always had amazing stories. She always went out of her way to say hi to me when she saw me,” Kendrick reportedly said.

Georgia Punches Back in Spirited Motion to Dismiss DOJ Election Integrity Lawsuit
[NATIONALREVIEW] The state of Georgia has filed a motion to dismiss the Department of Justice (DOJ) lawsuit aimed at its new, much-maligned election integrity law, S.B. 202, calling the legal action "a politicized intrusion into the State of Georgia’s constitutional authority to regulate the ’time, place, and manner’ of its election."Georgia secretary of state Brad Raffensperger concurred, saying in a Friday interview with National Review that "the left" had an "agenda" that they were going to push regardless of what the state’s legislature did.

"No matter what was passed, they were going to be against it and the DOJ just, in effect parroted what was already out there with the misinformation, the disinformation," he asserted. "What you saw is that Stacey Abrams
...the pudgy, sour grapes lo-o-o-o-o-ser (Loser! Loser! Loser!) of the 2018 Georgia governor's race. Stacey nominated herself to be Joe Biden's vice president nominee, to widespread national apathy. She has a very keen eye for Racism in any form, to include the imaginary...
and her allies, two weeks before the bill was even passed bought ’Jim Crow 2.0,’ and they hadn’t even finalized what the reading of the bill was."

Both Raffensperger and the motion itself allege that the lawsuit fails to pass muster on a number of fronts. Most crucially, the plaintiffs predict that the law will prevent African Americans and other racial minorities from voting but the law has not been around long enough for any such result to have materialized.

"The Department of Justice has talked about what’s going to happen in the future, but Section 2 [of the Civil Rights Act] never talks about what could happen, it’s based on a results claim. There are no results," explained Raffensperger.

Quoting the CEO of the Stacey Abrams-founded New Georgia Project:

“If there isn’t a way for us to repeat what happened in November 2020, we’re f---ed,” said Nsé Ufot, CEO of the Stacey Abrams-founded New Georgia Project. “We are doing what we do to make sure that not only our constituents, our base, the people, the communities that we organize with, get it. We’re trying to make sure that our elected officials get it as well.”

Given 1 of Ms. Whistle Tooth's campaign workers was caught with 4000+ phony pre-voted absentee ballots. When he forgot them in his rental car and turned it in returning to NEW YORK.
So it begs the question how many other were actually voted?

    Afghanistan
    Fighting continues in Helmand
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
    by Boris Rozhin

[ColonelCassad] During the night, Taliban fighters entered the provincial capital of Helmand. Street fighting still continues in the city.

Afghan special forces commanders say there are heavy street fighting and the Taliban are pushing, but the military is holding the city center and a number of key administrative buildings. By the evening of July 30, the battle was raging 100 meters from the Helmand provincial police headquarters. During the fighting, losses were suffered by both military and militants, as well as civilians who fell under the gunfire.

Commando squads are urgently deployed to the city by helicopters to contain Taliban attacks. Super-Tucano attack aircraft made a series of strikes in the area of the city.

For the Afghan government, these developments could be critical. If it succeeds in keeping Lashkar Gah, it will look like a defeat for the Taliban, which will somewhat destroy the picture of non-stop success created by the Taliban and show that even without direct US assistance, the Afghan military can defeat the Taliban. Therefore, by getting involved in the battles for Lashkar Gah, the Taliban are also at risk, since failure can cause some damage to their strategy. And he will also not be able to retreat without costs, since the authorities will declare that they have successfully repelled the Taliban offensive.

The government cannot retreat either, since the surrender of Lashkar Gakh could lead to a repetition of this scenario in other provincial centers, which would mean a collapse for the regime in Kabul. Therefore, the battles for the provincial capital of Helmand are unjustifiably important, although if you look at Lashkar Gah itself, this is a city with a population of about 50,000 people (plus 5K-10K refugees). Its significance in the current realities is rather moral and political.

In addition, the Taliban became completely insolent and began to infiltrate the suburbs of Kandahar, placing their checkpoints on secondary roads. For the last three days, special forces, with the support of attack helicopters, tried in every possible way to drive away their cities, and with the support of the US Air Force, which launched several airstrikes in the Kandahar region.

Also, the Americans bombed the Taliban positions at the Spin Boldak border crossing on the border with Pakistan, which the Taliban captured 2 weeks ago. The army has not yet been able to regain control over this checkpoint, which currently brings in hundreds of millions of dollars a year.

War of words between Texas Gov. Abbott, AG Garland over migrant order
[NYPOST] Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott
... governor of Texas. Abbott is a Republican. His 2014 Dem opponent, state senatrix Wendy Davis, thought the absolute, most pressing, most important issue facing the state was abortion. Abbott beat the pantyhose off her. His 2018 opponent, Lupe Valdez didn't dwell too heavily on abortion, but she lost too...
accused the Biden administration (aka the Wilmington comorra)
...knaves, footpads, and adjusters employed by the Biden Crime Family. They leave a trail of havoc everywhere they turn their attention, be it the nation's borders, the Keystone XL Pipeline, or epidemics, sometimes on purpose, most times through sheer arrogant ineptitude. They learnt this stuff in college, you know...
Thursday of "jeopardizing the health and safety of Texans on a daily basis" after Attorney General Merrick Garland threatened a lawsuit over a new order allowing state troopers to stop and turn around vehicles suspected of carrying illegal immigrants colonists.

In a letter to Abbott, Garland claimed the governor’s order was "dangerous" as well as "contrary to federal law and cannot be enforced." The attorney general also claimed the order was unconstitutional, as it "interferes with [federal] immigration enforcement" and obstructs the "release of individuals and the ability of those individuals to comply with federal immigration law."

Garland concluded the letter by declaring that if Abbott did not rescind his order, the attorney general would "pursue all appropriate legal remedies to ensure that Texas does not interfere with the functions of the federal government."
    That would certainly be interesting.
"It is clear that the Biden Administration fundamentally misunderstands what is truly happening at the Texas-Mexico border," Abbott shot back in a statement of his own Thursday. "The current crisis at our southern border, including the overcrowding of immigration facilities and the devastating spread of COVID-19 that the influx of non-citizens is causing, is entirely the creation of the Biden Administration and its failed immigration policies."

The order, enacted Wednesday, prohibits anyone except federal, state and local law enforcement officials from transporting illegal immigrants colonists detained attempting to cross the US-Mexico border. It also authorizes the stoppage of any vehicle "on reasonable suspicion" that it is violating the order. If a violation is confirmed, troopers are ordered to reroute the vehicle to its point of origin or a border crossing checkpoint or impound the vehicle if the driver refuses to be rerouted.

Properly notifying his intent along with the federal tax and defense impacts, to the perfidious traitors of the beltway (White House and the Congress) might be instructive as well. No guarantees, but they just MIGHT be reluctant to take on a Texas shi* storm.

I have little doubt the Governor could quietly mobilize a division or two of mounted (F-150) mobile civilian defense force volunteers if it became necessary.

Oregon court rejects gun control group's challenge to Second Amendment sanctuary rule
[FoxNews] An Oregon county judge has dismissed a case challenging the validity of two gun rights measures passed by local voters in recent years in a move that Second Amendment advocates are hailing as a "victory with national implications."

The Columbia County Board of Commissioners had hoped for a court to review the Second Amendment Sanctuary Ordinance and Second Amendment Preservation Ordinance – which prohibit county enforcement of most state and federal gun control measures, according to the Columbia County Spotlight. The newspaper says the Oregon attorney general and lawyers from Everytown for Gun Safety entered their own filings in court opposing the two ordinances, arguing they violated state and federal laws.

"While a governing body may seek review of an ordinance... judicial examination still requires a justiciable controversy," Judge Ted Grove wrote in his ruling issued Thursday.

“Petitioners have not demonstrated such a controversy," he added, noting that instead they "seek what amounts to an advisory opinion designed to invalidate their own newly passed ordinance."

The Oregon Firearms Federation applauded the case’s dismissal, saying in a statement that "the Columbia County Court shot down ‘Everytown For Gun Safety’, Mike Bloomberg’s New York Lawyers, and the usual gaggle of state worshippers and upheld the County’s 2nd Amendment Sanctuary ordinance, an ordinance the county commissioners hoped to torpedo."

"This is a victory with national implications and a repudiation to the politics of division that Bloomberg and the gun grabbers are so famous for," the gun rights group added.

The Second Amendment Sanctuary Ordinance, in its language, says "while within Columbia County, this Ordinance preserves the right of any person to keep and bear arms as originally understood; in self-defense and preservation, and in defense of one's community and country, and to freely manufacture, transfer, sell and buy firearms, firearm accessories and ammunition, which are designed primarily for the same purposes and protects ancillary rights that are closely related to the right to keep and bear arms protected by the Second Amendment."

Sarah Hansen, an attorney for the county, told the Columbia County Spotlight that "I strongly disagree with Judge Grove's decision that there is no justiciable controversy in this case and his dismissal of the petition for validation," but added that she is unsure if the county will appeal the decision.

    -Great Cultural Revolution
Hans von Spakovsky: Biden's border crisis – crime problem in Texas a bad omen for rest of US
[FoxNews] Supporters of illegal immigration like to portray all of the aliens now flooding across the southern border as benign individuals simply seeking a better life. Many no doubt are, but the latest report from the Texas Department of Public Safety shows just how dangerous some of them are.

That report outlines more than 573,000 criminal offenses committed by illegal aliens "over the course of their entire Texas criminal careers." And that’s surely just the tip of the iceberg, as the report only covers state offenses, not federal crimes, not crimes committed in other states, and not crimes committed by aliens in the country legally.

But what a shocking catalogue of victimization of Texas residents it is.

The report by the famous Texas Rangers shows that over 344,000 criminal aliens were booked into local Texas jails between June 1, 2011, and June 30, 2021, of which over 235,000 were classified as illegal aliens. The criminal offenses with which they were charged included:

    *1,245 homicides
    *66,924 assaults
    *17,456 burglaries
    *72,835 drug charges
    *980 kidnappings
    *33,335 thefts
    *4,155 robberies
    *7.076 sexual assaults
    *8,332 sexual offenses
    *49,408 obstructing police charges
    *8,317 weapons charges

Keep in mind, as the Texas report says, that these figures "represent the minimum number of crimes associated with criminal illegal aliens" (emphasis added). Why? Because Texas is counting as illegal aliens only those who "previously had an encounter" with the Department of Homeland Security that "resulted in their fingerprints being entered into the DHS IDENT database."
