Brings back memories of her and Bob Newhart. They could make you laugh your ass off. Newhart was a deadpan master. Classic television back when comedy was actually funny not political nastiness.

The World Health Organization doesn’t want anybody to do more until everybody else at least has their first two doses. Science has nothing to do with it.
[IndianExpress] Claiming that timely introduction of Ivermectin since the first wave has helped the state maintain a relatively low positivity rate despite in its high population density.
A year after the country’s first Covid-19 cluster, with 5 cases, was reported in Agra district, the Uttar Pradesh government has claimed that it was the first state to have introduced a large-scale "prophylactic and therapeutic" use of Ivermectin and added that the drug helped the state to maintain a lower fatality and positivity rate as compared to other states.
Citing the results from Agra in the month of May and June last year, following which the use of Ivermectin, a medicine to treat parasitic ailments, along with Doxycycline was introduced as a protocol across the state for both prophylactic as well as treatment purposes, the state Health Department said it would conduct a controlled study once the second wave of the pandemic subsides.
The state Health Department introduced Ivermectin as prophylaxis for close contacts of Covid patients, health workers as well as for the treatment of the patients themselves through a government order on August 6, 2020, after a committee headed by the Director General, Medical and Health Services, gave it the go ahead.
"Uttar Pradesh was the first state in the country to introduce large-scale prophylactic and therapeutic use of Ivermectin. In May-June 2020, a team at Agra, led by Dr Anshul Pareek, administered Ivermectin to all RRT team members in the district on an experimental basis. It was observed that none of them developed Covid-19 despite being in daily contact with patients who had tested positive for the virus," Uttar Pradesh State Surveillance Officer Vikssendu Agrawal said.
He added that based on the findings from Agra, the state government sanctioned the use of Ivermectin as a prophylactic for all the contacts of Covid patients and later cleared the administration of therapeutic doses for the treatment of such patients.
Claiming that timely introduction of Ivermectin since the first wave has helped the state maintain a relatively low positivity rate despite its high population density, he said, "Despite being the state with the largest population base and a high population density, we have maintained a relatively low positivity rate and cases per million of population".

Multiple gunshots heard in Nasby, Kristianstad, as police rushed to scene
Three people have been hospitalised in a serious condition with gunshot wounds: two men in their twenties and thirties, and a woman in her sixties
Police said three males had been arrested in connection with Tuesday's incident
Sweden's Expressen newspaper reported that those detained were teenagers
Nasby has been classified by police as a vulnerable area after recent riots and murders, high unemployment and low education
Sweden is the only European country where fatal shootings have risen significantly since 2000, primarily because of the violent activities of organised criminal gangs
In conclusion, better than fifty-fifty odds that the gunmen were Muslim gangbangers of one or another ethnicity, and slightly lower odds they were non-Muslim Eastern European gangbangers. But unless one knows who lives in that community, that information will likely never be reported.
[Washington Examiner] U.S. intelligence officials face bipartisan congressional pressure to explain their use of surveillance powers, following a rebuke from a federal judge and Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s high-profile dispute with the National Security Agency.
"Our institutions are only as good as the American public’s confidence in them," Florida Sen. Marco Rubio wrote a top intelligence official, requesting an investigation of Carlson’s allegation the NSA violated his privacy. "The NSA publicly responded to Mr. Carlson’s allegations with a statement on Twitter that frankly only created more questions."
Rubio, the top Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee, did not dispute the NSA’s denial of wrongdoing in Carlson’s case. Yet, Rubio’s request for "a formal inquiry" into Carlson’s complaint coincided with a sharper rebuke of the FBI, which has drawn bipartisan ire due to a federal judge’s revelation of "pervasive" misuse of data collected by the NSA.
"We each share an obligation to protect Americans’ civil liberties," Indiana Republican Rep. Victoria Spartz and California Democratic Rep. Zoe Lofgren wrote in a Tuesday letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray. "However, the FBI has repeatedly violated the civil liberties of Americans through widespread misuse of Section 702 data."
Given all the Upper level Staff and Key journalist changes. Being either setup, told to shutup, or terminated or not renewed.
It wouldn't surprise me if the FOX CEO/CIO & Board have gone to the dark side. An working with the NSA, the JUNTA and China to better their own goals and survival chances.
[Rudaw] Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS) attacks in Iraq and Syria increased between April and July as they continue to operate a "low-level" but "well-entrenched" insurgency in rural areas, the Pentagon said in its latest quarterly report.
"ISIS-claimed attacks increased compared to previous quarters, with a notable rise during Ramadan," said the report released on Tuesday, covering events from April 1 to June 30.
ISIS tactics "to conduct hit-and-run and improvised bomb (IED) attacks; exploit sectarian, political and security gaps; and target vulnerable residents of displaced persons camps for recruitment" remained unchanged, however, "the lethality of ISIS attacks declined, possibly because of constrained resources and inexperienced members."
The holy warrior group "probably has tens of millions of dollars in cash reserves dispersed across Iraq, Syria, and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor... ," according to the Department of Treasury.
The group collects money through "extortion of oil smuggling networks in eastern Syria, collecting kidnapping ransoms, looting, and possibly the operation of front companies in both Iraq and Syria."
The treasury department added that ISIS members in Iraq transferred money to Death Eaters in northeast Syria (Rojava), including to al-Hol and other displacement camps. "Treasury said that ISIS often relied on controllers in Turkey and in other financial centers, as well as on virtual currencies and online fundraising platforms."
ISIS seized control of swathes of Iraq and Syria in 2014. It was declared territorially defeated in 2019. However, some men learn by reading. A few learn by observation. The rest have to pee on the electric fence for themselves... it remains a threat on both sides of the border. The two sides are increasing their collaboration in order to deny ISIS space to operate.
The report also addressed Iran-backed militia attacks on US interests in Iraq, indicating that "the increase in attacks on US forces by Iran-aligned militias continued to affect the OIR [Operation Inherent Resolve] mission and US diplomatic activity in Iraq" and continued to "threaten" coalition progress during the quarter.
"There have been nine indirect fire attacks on facilities housing US personnel and 28 IED strikes against Coalition logistical convoys in Iraq" from April to the end of June, according to the report. The US Central Command reported that "there were at least five UAV attacks against US facilities in Iraq."
Iraqi, Peshmerga and Kurdish forces in Syria often launch operations to fight ISIS cells on both sides of the border.
In late July, Iraqi security forces launched an operation in Kirkuk aiming to clear out remnants that are active in the south of the province.

[BenarNews] A Thai soldier was killed and four others were maimed when bandidos Death Eaters attacked a military outpost along the Malaysian border in Thailand’s Deep South on Tuesday, officials said, a day after government forces rubbed out a suspected rebel.
The Thai army commander in the region said that authorities had asked Malaysian officials for help in checking reports that the rebels had fled into Malaysia after mounting the attack across the Kolok River, which separates the two countries in that area.
The attack took place 2:15 a.m. at the makeshift base in Moo 1, a village located in the Tak Bai district of Narathiwat province, officials said. Soldiers were stationed there to prevent illegal border crossings as a COVID precaution measure, they added.
"There were eight servicemen on duty" at the base, Col. Thaweerat Benjathikul, the commander of the 45th Ranger Task Force Regiment, told news hounds.
"And at least 15 gunnies cut the lights, encircled and fired upon them with guns and hurled pipe-bombs at them. The fight lasted about 15 minutes."
Thaweerat said security personnel found more than 50 casings from an M-16 rifle, AK-47 assault rifles and shotguns at the attack site. The slain soldier was identified as Kiattikhajorn Nakdee, he said, adding that the injured servicemen did not have life-threatening injuries.
"[I] believe the attackers were avenging the death of Rosalee Lamso," he said.
According to military officials, Rosalee was the leader of a cell of separatist fighters who was bumped off by government forces on Monday after a five-hour standoff at his father-in-law’s home in Pattani, another province in the Deep South.
He was wanted in connection with several attacks, including the murder of a couple in a car-bomb explosion in 2017.
‘ATTACKERS WERE CERTAINLY THAIS’
A Thai official, who asked not to be named because of the sensitivity of the issue, said the bandidos Death Eaters who perpetrated Tuesday’s attack had crossed the river from Malaysia to launch the attack before retreating.
BenarNews tried to reach Abdul Rahim Noor, the Malaysian broker of southern Thai peace talks, but he did not respond right away on Tuesday night — nor did Gen. Wanlop Rugsanaoh, Thailand’s chief negotiators in those talks. Senior Malaysian police officials also did not respond immediately to related inquiries from BenarNews.
Col. Kiatisak Neewong, front man for ISOC-4, the military’s regional command, said officials found boot marks along the river bank and were investigating them.
"We do not rule out any motives, but the attackers were certainly Thais," said Kiatisak.
Lt. Gen. Kriangkrai Srirak, the commander for the 4th Army Region, which covers Thailand’s southern region, went to inspect the site of Tuesday’s attack.
"We have asked Malaysia to help," he said.
Since the decades-old separatist insurgency reignited in January 2004, more than 7,000 people have been killed in Thailand’s southern border region, according to Deep South Watch, a Pattani think-tank.
Face-to-face peace talks between Thailand and the National Revolutionary Front, or BRN -- the largest armed Death Eater group in the far south -- have been stalled since March last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. But both sides said they were still meeting online through technical-level panels.
The last virtual meeting was held in February, Malaysian controller Rahim Noor confirmed to BenarNews at the time.
[AlAhram] Pakistain's military said Tuesday it has completed 90% of a fence being constructed along the border with Afghanistan, vowing to complete the project this summer.
Pakistain started the fence along the 2,611-kilometer (1,622-mile) border with Afghanistan _ known as the Durand Line _ in 2017 when hard boyz repeatedly launched cross-border attacks on Pak posts.
On Tuesday, a Pak military official, Col. Rizwan Nazir, told a group of foreign journalists at the key Torkham border crossing that the remaining 10% of the fence at the western border will be complete this year.
The border barrier between the two countries consists of two sets of chain-link fences separated by a 2-meter (6.5-foot) space that has been filled with concertina wire coils. The double fence is about 4 meters (13 feet) high. The military has installed surveillance cameras to check any movement along the border.
Afghanistan has never recognized the mostly non-existent border that runs through the Pashtun heartland, diluting the power of Afghanistan's largest ethnic group on both sides.
Pakistain and Afghanistan often accuse each other of turning a blind eye to Islamic hard boyz operating along the frontier.
On Tuesday, Pak soldiers were seen patrolling one of the most dangerous regions in the county, where Pak Taliban ...Arabic for students... and other local and foreign hard boyz have a presence.
Anti-Taliban chants, Herat city dominated by “ALLAH AKBAR”
[KhaamaPress] As the conflict between Afghan security forces and the Taliban in Herat city entered its sixth day, the residents of the city chanted ALLAH AKBAR (Allah is Great) to express their support to Afghan government forces and oppose the Taliban.
The chanting by men, women, and minors was unprecedented in twenty years and was welcomed by ordinary Afghan people and officials.
After the Taliban toppled all but one district including the provincial capital in western Herat province bordering Iran, the fighters stormed the city and launched an offensive against the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces. Last Friday was the worst in terms of the severity of the conflict. The Taliban toppled two Police Districts in the city and had besieged the airport. The ANDSF backed by US army airstrikes drove the Taliban from the city and recaptured the Guzara district of the province.
Afghanistan Ministry of Defense said that 41 Taliban fighters were killed and 32 more wounded as a result of land and air operations in Herat province Monday night.
Herat along with Lashkargah city of Helmand province, Taloqan of Takhar province, and Kandahar city are among the provincial capitals which have been witnessing heavy conflicts between the ANDSF and the Taliban in the past two weeks.
Residents also celebrated the advances of the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces in their fight against the Taliban in southern parts of Herat city. Monday was the sixth day of the fighting in Herat.
The move was widely welcomed by other Afghans across the country who created a hashtag of “Herat uprising” and “Allahu Akbar,” announcing their support to the Heratis.
Kabul residents took to social media and asked for a similar act in Kabul on Tuesday night.
Herat governor Gen. Abdul Saboor Qani, who has served in the leadership role of the country’s security agencies, on Tuesday said the security forces in the province have air support. He said that a large-scale military operation has started to clear the province of Taliban.
Clashes happened between the security forces and Taliban in southern parts of Herat on Monday, in a distance of at least 2 kilometers from the center of the city.
This comes as three civilians were killed and 10 more were wounded in an explosion in the city of Herat on Monday evening, health officials said. According to security sources, the blast targeted a bus carrying civilians, and women are among the victims.
In Herat, the Afghan army and Ismail Khan's militias / militias are still holding key areas of the city and are not allowing the Taliban to occupy them freely. Herat airport is also held and the road from the city to the airport is unblocked. The Taliban sit in the suburbs and a couple of residential areas. The fighting around Herat has so far been low-intensity. Against the background of Lashkar Gakh, everything is developing rather sluggishly. Based on the two shelling of the UN office in Herat (2 Afghan policemen were killed), the UN called on the Taliban not to do this again. The Taliban pretended to take note.
[NATIONALREVIEW] New York governor Andrew Sonny Cuomo ...Dem dynastic governor of Noo Yawk, the son and heir of the late Mario Cuoma and formerly married to a Kennedy. Acclaimed for his leadership during the COVID epidemic, he managed the nation's highest corpse count while successfully hiding the returns and writing a book praising himself. Among the nation's horniest politicians, he has about a dozen allegations of sexual harrassment and groping against him. Noo Yawk's politix being what they are, he is still hanging tough, waiting to ride it out.... sexually harassed multiple women, among them current and former state employees, in violation of federal and state law, state attorney general Letitia James announced at a presser on Tuesday. The announcement represents the conclusions of a months-long probe by the attorney general’s office into sexual harassment allegations made against the governor. Several women have alleged that the governor inappropriately touched them, although Cuomo has denied wrongdoing.
"Governor Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women and in doing so violated federal and state law," James told news hounds. Cuomo and the Executive Chamber cultivated a "toxic" workplace that allowed "harassment to occur and created a hostile work environment."
James added that the probe "is civil in nature and does not have criminal consequences." However, if you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning... Anne Clark, one of the lead Sherlocks for the probe, said prosecutors may look at the evidence contained in the report and determine whether to press charges.
"All the information is fully documented in the report, and any prosecutors or police departments can look at the evidence and determine if they want to take further action," Clark said.
James’s report, which runs to 165 pages, details a litany of allegations by eleven women against the governor.

He's really the ideal spokesman for COVID. Everything about him oozes skeeziness.
Yeah yeah... to easy. Besides Kamala would never give up a meal..
[BabylonBee] FORBIDDEN WOODS—Recent polls have shown a low favorability rating for Vice President Kamala Harris. To combat this, she has taken the unusual step of releasing all the children she had imprisoned in her gingerbread house deep within the forest.
"Look at all of your children returned!" Harris announced as the kids fled from her. "And uneaten as well!"
It’s unclear why Harris has such a low approval rating. Some people blame sexism or racism or a combination of the two (sometimes known as "rexism"), but Harris hopes she can turn her approval rating around by giving families back their children and not plumping them up and eating them like she had originally planned.
"Run! Run back to your families!" Harris yelled to the fleeing kids and then let out one of her famous laughs.
"It’s just hard for a black woman in this climate," said Sally Hubbard, an aide to Harris. "And it’s not going to be any easier for her, since she’ll now be cranky, having not satiated her hunger for children."

One of the VPs jobs is to take the heat off of an unpopular President by being evil or stupid or both. In that regard she has finally found a job she's good at.
[ToloNews] The Ministry of Information and Culture on Tuesday said that 51 media outlets have been closed in the country due to an increase in violence over the last three months.
The ministry said that 16 of the media outlets, including four TV networks, are in Helmand ...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan... and stopped operating in recent weeks.
"So far, 35 media outlets have stopped their operations, over 6 media outlets have fallen to the Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... and are being used as a voice for their activities," said acting Minister of Information and Culture Qasim Wafaeezada.
Data by Nai, an organization supporting open media in Afghanistan, shows that 51 media outlets have been closed across the country since April.
The outlets were operating in Helmand, Kandahar, Badakhshan, Takhar, Baghlan, Samangan, Balkh, Sar-e-Pul ...a city and eponymous province in northern Afghanistan, population about 500,000. Demographically it is majority Tadjik and Uzbek. There are small Pashtun, Arab, and Hazara communities, of which the Hazaras mostly don't bother anyone... , Jawzjan, Faryab, Nuristan and Badghis.
Five TV networks and 44 radio stations, one media center and a news agency are among the outlets that halted their operations.
In this period, over 1,000 news hounds and media workers, including 150 women, lost their jobs.
Two journalists have bit the dust in the last two months.
Mina Khairi, a news anchor at Ariana News, was killed in a kaboom in Kabul on June 3. Danish Siddique of Rooters was killed in a Taliban ambush on the way to Spin Boldak district in Kandahar.
One of the TV networks that stopped operations in Helmand is the national radio and TV network, and its Lashkargah office in District 1 has fallen to the Taliban.
"Our demand is that the media buildings not be damaged. They should not be used as a stronghold," said Hayatullah Dawari, head of the national TV in Helmand.
Maryam Durani, the owner of Mirman Radio in Kandahar, said that they have had to restrict their operations due to the rise in threats in the province.
Durani said that three of her colleagues have left their jobs, but she said that nothing will stop them from continuing to put out the news.
"Considering what is said overall, it is difficult to decide whether to keep female workers or not," she said.
Some media-supporting organizations said they are concerned about the fall of some media outlets to the Taliban, adding that five radio stations have started pro-Taliban broadcasts in areas under their influence in Baghlan, Faryab, Badakhshan and Samangan provinces.
"Access to information, which is a right of the people, is taken from them and freedom of speech is taken from them," said Mujib Khalwatgar, head of Nai, an organization supporting open media in Afghanistan.
Officials from Dehraood Radio in Uruzgan claimed that the Taliban "looted" all the equipment in the radio station after the Lions of Islam captured Dehraood district two weeks ago. They also claimed that the Taliban destroyed the antenna of the station. The Taliban has not commented on the allegation.
But Taliban front man Zabihullah Mujahid said that the media outlets have been closed due to the ongoing festivities; therefore, the group cannot ask them to resume their activities.
Government figures show that there are 248 TV networks, 438 radio stations, 1,669 print media and 119 news agencies in the country.
[ToloNews] Troops from Russia and Uzbekistan began joint military drills on Monday near the Afghan border, amid fears in both countries that a worsening security situation in Afghanistan could spill over into Central Asia.
Russia said 1,500 Russian and Uzbek troops would take part in the five-day exercises that began at the Termez military site in Uzbekistan, the TASS news agency reported.
In a sign of how seriously Moscow views the potential threat from Afghanistan, it said it would send a much bigger military contingent to Tajikistan for separate trilateral exercises.
Those separate drills are expected to take place on Aug. 5-10 and involve Russian, Tajik and Uzbek forces. Uzbekistan said on Monday its unit had arrived in Tajikistan.
Security has rapidly deteriorated in Afghanistan as the United States withdraws troops. Moscow fears that could destabilise its southern defensive flank and push refugees into its Central Asian backyard.
On Monday, Russia's defence ministry said that 1,800 of its soldiers would take part in the Tajik drills, instead of 1,000 as initially planned. More than 2,500 troops would be involved in total, it said.
Moscow will also use 420 units of military hardware for the drills, double the quantity originally planned, it said.
Tajikistan's defence ministry said in its statement that the drills would involve more than 300 armoured vehicles, 25 combat and transport helicopters and an undisclosed number of fighter and bomber jets as well as artillery.
"The aim of the drills is to effectively test the combat ability of military units in the event of the situation being destabilised on the state border," it said.
[ToloNews] Afghan forces began a village-to-village clearance operation in Nijrab district in Kapisa province after it was retaken from the Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... on Monday.
Provincial council members from the district said the district fell to the Taliban due to lack of coordination among the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces and the public uprising forces. They warned that such a situation should not happen again.
"The Taliban always creates terror, disturbs people and targets people’s houses with rockets," said Moinuddin Siyal, police chief of Kapisa.
"The recent operation was effective and suppressed the enemy. The district was cleared of the enemy and now the security and defense forces have a full presence there," said Rohullah Ahmadzai, front man for Defense Ministry.
The reasons for the fall of Nijrab district to the Taliban, which occurred in the first week of July, have been discussed by residents and politicians.
A member of Parliament from Kapisa, Mir Haidar Afzali, said there is a need to boost coordination between the local forces and the security forces in the district.
"When districts are retaken, we have the challenge of keeping them. I hope we don’t face problems like in Nijrab," Afzali said.
Some sources said that Kamdish district in Nuristan has fallen to the Taliban, but the Defense Ministry said that the district is still under the control of Afghan forces.
"If Kamdish falls, all Nuristan will fall," said Qamar Bano, an MP from Nuristan.
"I think that our future will be bleak if the situation continues," said Faqir Mohammad Faqir, a former interior minister who served during Hafizullah Amin’s government.
The Defense Ministry said that at least 375 Taliban fighters were killed in Afghan forces operations in the last 24 hours. The Taliban has denied the claim.
[NYPOST] Gov. Andrew Sonny Cuomo ...Dem dynastic governor of Noo Yawk, the son and heir of the late Mario Cuoma and formerly married to a Kennedy. Acclaimed for his leadership during the COVID epidemic, he managed the nation's highest corpse count while successfully hiding the returns and writing a book praising himself. Among the nation's horniest politicians, he has about a dozen allegations of sexual harrassment and groping against him. Noo Yawk's politix being what they are, he is still hanging tough, waiting to ride it out.... maintained Tuesday that he "never touched anyone inappropriately," pushing back on a bombshell official report that concluded he sexually harassed several women in violation of state and federal law.
Speaking on video without news hounds to ask questions, the governor was adamant in his denial, as he has been since the scandal erupted.
"I want you to know directly from me that I never touched anyone inappropriately or made inappropriate sexual advances," he told New Yorkers.
"That is just not who I am," he continued. "And that’s not who I have ever been."
"I welcome the opportunity for a full and fair review before a judge and a jury, because this just did not happen," he further said.
Asked whether Cuomo should be removed from office if he refuses to resign, Biden said, "I understand the state legislature may decide to impeach, I do not know that for a fact."
Biden's call directly follows House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's announcement that she believes the New York Democrat should step down
The Speaker of the New York State Assembly, Carl Heastie, said on Tuesday evening that Cuomo has lost the confidence of the Democratic majority and 'can no longer remain in office.' He says he looks to conclude the impeachment investigation 'as quickly as possible'
Earlier, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and his fellow New York senator, Kirsten Gillibrand, called for Cuomo to go
Twelve New York representatives - including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Carolyn Maloney, the chair of the House Oversight Committee, and Jerry Nadler, chair of the House Judiciary Committee - all called for him to resign
Charlotte Bennett, one of the 11 women to accuse him, said on Tuesday night that he needed to resign and said his press conference was 'a circus' and insulting to her and other accusers
New York Attorney General Letitia James’s investigation found that New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women and retaliated against one former employee.
The report appendix revealed a damning email with CNN’s Chris Cuomo along with Cuomo’s secretary.
It looks like Cuomo helped draft a sexual harassment statement for his brother.

[KhaamaPress] Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defense said that military operations were conducted in different provinces of Afghanistan which inflicted heavy casualties to the Taliban ...Arabic for students... fighters.
The statement released by MoD reads that a large swathe has also been recaptured as a result of operations.
As per the statement, 375 Taliban fighters were killed and 193 more maimed as a result of land and aerial operations.
The operations were conducted in the provinces of Nuristan, Pashtun-infested Logar, Kandahar, Oruzgan, Herat ...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns... , Jawzjan, Balkh, Samangan, Helmand ...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan... , Kapisa, and Baghlan.
In Afghan National Defense and Security Forces’ latest Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s, 20 Taliban were killed and 12 more maimed in the historic provincial capital-Lashkargah- of Helmand province, reads MoD’s statement.
The Taliban spokesperson Zabiullah Mujahid denied the group’s fighters being killed in Helmand province and claimed Afghan government forces’ airstrikes have targeted civilian people.
The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces recently recaptured the Nijrab district of Kapisa province backed by the Taliban.
Lashkargah city of Helmand province has always been a battlefield between the ANDSF and the Taliban. The latter has entered the city and have reportedly attacked the provincial office and national police headquarter.
The Afghan government has announced to conduct wide operations to clear the city from the bully boyz and have advised the residents to evict areas where Taliban are settled.

I don't doubt it. Tet was horrendously expensive for both the NVA and the VC. They were hoping to trigger a general collapse in the South Vietnamese government. While that collapse did not materialize, a different type of collapse - in the morale of America's elites - did. That avalanche of defeatism got to the point that those elites cut South Vietnam off from aid even while the Communist bloc ramped up assistance to North Vietnam. They wanted to be sure South Vietnam was erased from the map. Meanwhile, if the US had left South Korea 3 years after the armistice, it's almost a given that the Kims would rule over a unified Korea today.

The donkey back BDA reports couldn't have been collated in 24 hrs.
You may be thinking of US-spec BDA's conducted at leisure, with the knowledge that the cavalry (i.e. strike units of the USAF and USN) stand ready over the horizon to bomb and strafe the crap out of any major Taliban troop concentrations. In Afghanistan, they're dealing with attacks on every major city. They don't have time for multi-day forensic analyses.
#5
Combine a satellite phone with a laptop, and the reports can be received as fast as they’re typed up, right? Given that it’s reported that the provincial capitols are all that hold out against the rampaging Talibs, how likely is it that reports are being transported via donkey?
#6
What TW says was the solution actually. They use a Raytheon built interconnect digital radio system actually. And the reports are not actually taken by donkeys. That was before 2002, even then they had runners with dirt bikes, for areas without comms coverage. Then there was this radio-in-a-box setup which I think several thousand were distributed. Later the ACU came along.
The devil is in the cooking of numbers by the ANSDF itself, and the Afghan MoD officials, those oversmart sunnis who would add thousands of ghost solders, officers, equipment and buildings to their records just to skim from the budget. While a goddamn war was going on.
[KhaamaPress] The United Kingdom government is urged to follow the lead of the United States and expand its program of resettling Afghans who have worked for the former in Afghanistan during its two-decade mission in the war-battered country.
Senior Politicians and former military commanders have recently asked London to also relocate those Afghans who have contributed to the UK’s mission in Afghanistan along with interpreters.
US state department on Monday, August 2, launched a new program based on which the Afghans who have worked for US media outlets, US nongovernmental bodies, and US-funded projects can also apply for US visas.
Tobias Ellwood, the chairman of Britannia’s Commons defense select committee, has said that the UK government should do more and should have taken the lead in relocating the Afghans who have worked for UK troops in other parts other than interpreting.
Ellwood acknowledged that Afghanistan may fall to the Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... , thus, the program of resettling Afghan interpreters should be expedited and back should not be turned to other Afghans beyond the linguists.
Meanwhile, ...back at the pond, Gloria again dodged the questing tip of the giant frog's tongue and ran for her life... Admiral Lord West has also urged London to be faster and work with urgency in relocating the Afghans who have worked in other roles with UK forces. He feared that these people are at risk of killing by the Taliban.
Along with the US, UK is also operating the program of relocating those Afghans who have worked for its troops in the past two decades in Afghanistan.
[IsraelTimes] A military court has convicted a Paleostinian man with US citizenship of murder for shooting dead a Jewish student in the West Bank, the Israel Defense Forces says.
The court "convicted the terrorist Muntasir Shalabi, based on his confession, of the crime of intentional manslaughter — equivalent to the offense of murder," the IDF says.
In addition, Shalabi was convicted of "several counts of attempted intentional manslaughter, and possession of a weapon and obstruction of justice," according to a military statement.
Shalabi, 44, was arrested by Israeli forces in May after he opened fire on passengers waiting at a bus stop at Tapuah junction, south of Nablus in the northern West Bank.
The attack killed Yehuda Guetta, 19, a student at a yeshiva in the Itamar settlement, and maimed two of his friends.
Last month, the IDF demolished Shalabi’s house in Turmus Ayya, a village northeast of the West Bank city of Ramallah.
The move was denounced by the United States, which said such demolitions "exacerbate tensions and undercut efforts to advance a negotiated two-state solution."
Israel believes that demolishing the homes of assailants deters such attacks in the future, but critics denounce the practice as unjustified collective punishment.
[Iran Press TV] In an exclusive interview with Press TV, Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... ’s foreign minister of the National Unity Government has lambasted western censorship as "shameful" in response to YouTube shutting down the ministry's official account without providing just cause earlier this week. The move follows months of relentless attempts to silence media and journalism from Moslem nations which, according to many, don’t fit into the US foreign policy agenda.
Speaking to Press TV, the furious foreign minister declares the ban will cement further Yemen's dire reputation as the forgotten war.
The gagging attempt comes after the US launched a widely condemned attack on Foreign media outlets last month, seizing access to ".com" domains of over two dozen sites, including Yemen's al-Masirah news network.
Yemen is known as one of the world's worst man-made humanitarian disasters, largely caused by the near seven year US-backed Saudi-led war on the country.
Arab nations, currently at odds with US foreign policy, have experienced unprecedented levels of censorship in recent months, but many of the brave journalists from these embattled countries remain as determined to get their message out to the world as before, only now they need more help than ever before.

[Iran Press TV] A senior Afghan commander charged with defending the capital of Helmand ...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan... Province, Lashkar Gah, from advancing Talibs has urged civilians to evacuate the besieged southern city as soon as possible ahead of a planned army offensive to repel the murderous Moslems.General Sami Sadat, whose troops are manning barricades in the city, said in a message on Tuesday that civilians had to "leave as soon as possible so that we can start our operation."
"I know it is very difficult for you to leave your houses — it is hard for us too — but if you are displaced for a few days, please forgive us," he added. "We are fighting the Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... wherever they are. We will fight them and... we will not leave a single Taliban alive."
The remarks came hours after the general warned of consequences for global security if the city fell to the murderous Moslems.
The latest reports indicate that fighting is taking place near Lashkar Gah’s prison and a building housing the headquarters of police and intelligence agencies. The hard boyz have already seized more than a dozen local radio and TV stations in the city after days of heavy fighting.
The United Nations ...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks... (UN) said on Tuesday that at least 40 civilians had been killed and more than 100 maimed in the previous 24 hours of fighting in the southern city.
Several bucolic provincial capitals have been encircled by the Taliban, and heavy fighting has been going on for days now in the capitals of Helmand and Kandahar provinces in the south, and in the city of Herat ...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns... in the west.
Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin adds:
Street fighting continues in Lashkar Gah, which is complemented by airstrikes by the US Air Force and the Afghan Air Force, which are trying to support the military entrenched in the city. The Afghan army is asking residents to leave the fighting areas, as both new airstrikes and a "powerful counterattack" are envisaged, which will push Taliban troops away from Lashkar Gah.
For these purposes, an intensive regrouping of troops is now being carried out and a counter-offensive was promised literally the other day. Locals say they are caught in the millstones of Taliban militants who are establishing Sharia law and a government that is indiscriminately bombing neighborhoods in Lashkar Gakh, killing both militants and civilians.
In this regard, the government says that civilians should be brought down from there, since the militants can use them as human shields. The Taliban responded by saying that for the killed civilians he will repay with blood.
Meanwhile. according to the UN, as a result of the hostilities in Lashkar Gah, 40 civilians have been killed and 118 wounded in the last 24 hours alone.
Muharram is apparently the first month of the Muslim calendar, second in holiness only to Ramadan for fasting and processions. The holiday of Ashura, when Shiites whip themselves bloody in memory of the death of Husayn ibn Ali, grandson of the Prophet Muhammad and in their eyes his rightful heir, in the Battle of Karbala, is on the 10th of this month. Ashura, it turns out, also commemorates when Moses parted the Red Sea for the Israelite slaves fleeing the Egyptian pharaoh, which for some reason the Muslims feel they are more entitled to celebrate than the Jews whose ancestors participated in the event.
[Iran Press TV] In Indian administered Kashmir ...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there.... , New Delhi has lifted a three decade-old ban on the Muharram processions; something that people of Kashmir have always demanded. However, women are made to be loved, not understood... the decision to lift the ban has come at a time when all other social and religious activities have been halted due to the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague) ...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men... pandemic and this has raised concerns among the people.
Since the armed resistance against Indian rule began in Kashmir in 1989, New Delhi imposed a ban on Muharram processions in Indian Administered Kashmir reasoning these processions might be used by the pro-freedom outfits to instigate the anti-India sentiments.
Despite being challenged in the court of law the ban remained intact.
However, women are made to be loved, not understood... in a surprising move New Delhi's administration this year lifted the ban. But more than appreciation this decision has received criticism.

Won't be many takers this time. But if there are, and they get sick, all we have to do is withold the O2Abstention tends to bring people to their practical senses sometimes it seems, albeit forced. Let's hope...
"Salaam, Gul Bhat. You are going
for the blessed Ashura are you not?"
"Naah... I have work to do, washing,

[ABC] An Illinois woman is facing federal charges for allegedly disturbing wildlife in Yellowstone National Park after a video surfaced of her attempting to get an up-close cellphone photo of a momma grizzly bear and her three cubs.
Bob Murray, the U.S. attorney for the district of Wyoming, announced on Monday that charges have been filed against 25-year-old Samantha R. Dehring of Carol Stream, Illinois.
Dehring is ordered to appear before a magistrate judge in Mammoth Hot Spring, Wyoming, on Aug. 26 to answer to charges of willfully remaining, approaching and photographing wildlife within 100 yards. She is also charged with one count of feeding, touching, teasing, frightening or intentionally disturbing wildlife.

attempting to get an up-close cellphone photo of a momma grizzly bear and her three cubs.
Momma & cubs, this is impressively stupid. In fact, it is so stupid I wouldn't bother to prosecute her because she will eventually wander into traffic, fall off a cliff, or be literally eaten by bears.
We'll have you know, Miss Dehring-er
that this family of bears are VIPs.
They're respectable fauna now,
and not like Nancy's invitees.
This fine lady's husband f'rinstance
knew the bishop of Rome very well,
and frequently helped his eminence
get into his tighty whities.
While I understand the 100% stupidity of the Self-Picture with a wild Griz and yes she have had DARWIN teaching moment for it.
But.
If she lives in Illinois then transfer the case to that Illinois district, since she wasn't arrested in Yellowstone district.
Or have that U.S. attorney / Marshall's office in Wyoming pay for her return ROUND TRIP Airfare and her stay in 3/5 star Hotel room, NOT a travel inn room for the duration of the court hearing and trial.
NOTE: The quoted 100 Yard rule is pure BS and suspect the US Attorney wants some MEDIA exposure maybe for Career building?
BTW:
Hell here in Cherokee Nation Park NC/TN.
There are ELK, black bears, wolves and deer walking within a few FEET of tourists, not Yards.
I'll bet it is the same in Yellowstone.

Are you local to Gat?
If so is that great pancake house still serving?
[Rudaw] Six civilians have been killed and twenty villages evacuated in the Kurdistan Region this year because of the conflict between The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), the head of a parliamentary committee told Rudaw.
"This year, 20 villages have been evacuated due to the fight between the PKK and Turkey, and six civilians have bit the dust," Hikmat Mohammed, who leads the parliament’s Interior, Security and Local Councils committee, told Rudaw’s Hemin Baban on Sunday.
The PKK is an gang that has struggled for increased rights for Kurds in Turkey for decades. It has bases and its headquarters in the Kurdistan Region’s mountains. Turkey considers the group a terrorist organization and frequently sends its armed forces across the border.
This year, Turkey has so far launched three military operations against the PKK in the Kurdistan Region. The first, dubbed Claw Eagle-2, lasted a few days in February and targeted alleged PKK positions on Mount Gara in Duhok province. It ended with the discovery of the bodies of 12 Ottoman Turkish citizens captured by the PKK six years ago, and the body of one Kurd from Duhok.
In late April, Turkey launched twin, large-scale ground and air operations along Duhok’s northern border with Turkey, named Claw-Lightning and Claw-Thunderbolt. They are still ongoing and are inflicting serious damage to the villages and countryside.
"A lot of damage has been done to historic sites and the electricity of areas where there is war," said Mohammed.
Villagers have fled their homes, and the conflict has sparked fires that are difficult to extinguish because of ongoing festivities.
Verifying information of casualties and material losses over decades of conflict is a challenge. A parliamentary report last year concluded that at least 504 villages have been emptied across the Kurdistan Region since 1992 and hundreds of people have been killed.
In Duhok alone, 366 villages have been abandoned since 1998, a dozen of them in the past year. Thousands of acres of land have been scorched in fires started by the conflict.
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] Five rioters have been convicted and sentenced to a combined total of more than a decade in prison for their role in the far-left, anti-police riot in Bristol, England, earlier this year.
On March 21, hundreds of far-left rioters opposing a proposed bill expanding police's ability to crack down on unlawful demonstrations rioted at the Bridewell Police Station. There, they set multiple police vehicles on fire and tried breaking inside the facility.
21-year-old Brandon Lloyd, of Bristol; 21-year-old Kane Adamson, of Bristol; 46-year-old Stuart Quinn, of Bristol and 18-year-old Kain Simmonds, of Birmingham were sentenced last week at the Bristol Crown Court to a total of 13 years and 11 months after pleading guilty to being part of a group which used or threatened violence at the riot.
25-year-old Yasmin Schneider, of Bristol, was also sentenced to five months in prison after admitting to exposing herself to police and urinating on the feet of an officer.
During the riot in March, the black-clad rioters held hammer and sickle banners and raised symbols of Antifa ...the armed wing of the Democratic Party... . The rioters also hurled explosive mortar fireworks at police, weaponized barricades as battering rams and set vehicles and dumpsters on fire.
Groups that called for comrades to attend the "Kill the Bill" direct action included the Bristol chapters of a Black Lives Matter group, Extinction Rebellion and Socialist Workers Party. Several local Antifa groups as well as Momentum Bristol, the hard-left wing group within the Labour Party, also promoted the "Kill the Bill" event on social media.

Well forcing employee's to be vaxed could only exacerbate the problems. Many quit. Many refuse the edicts. Now nurses I am told are striking about this. The constant problems must go on. Just do as the Democrats do and throw money at the problem. Well, as we all know that has never worked but does for elections. This is an orchestrated fantasy world we now live in. The wizard of oz has bungled things badly. So you think it can't get worse? you wanna bet?.

Over here in Middle East GA. the Metro hospitals are sending home moderately infected and giving them O2 bottles and med's.
ONLY those that are really bad off were allowed a hospital ICU bed if available.
Example:
One of our extended family was sent home last week.
He is 50'ish and had taken the Vax shot about a month ago.
He was placed on 5 liters of O2 then it was upped to 7 liters.
Then finally an ambulance was called and he was finally allowed a ICU bed.
He was incubated last night after putting him in a drug induce coma.
#3
#2 Wow 5-7 liters. Gas exchange must be extremely poor. I have seen 10 on face mask and additional 7 liters nasal canula combined. Not good at all. Then because of the Vax so common. Blood clotting threw out the body, everywhere I suspect.

You can be sure that whatever death inducing agent of chaos comes along, any establishment [and the opposition] will try and make the most of the fear and uncertainty it brings. That is no reason to disbelieve that a danger does in fact exist.
We have seen statistics and statistics, and all refuted, laughed, mocked them here at the 'Burg a thousand times. Today you have some numbers floating around showing that COVID is a minor thingy that doesn't really do much harm, and people are hopping to believe them. Granted, it doesn't do much harm to those who don't get it, and to those who are strong enough to beat it. The others die.
Every country today is in some state of lockdown. Not because the gummints have found a new tool to coerce and kick the subjects into further submission. But because in this age of welfare socialism, even the death of a thousand people is a mandate stealing threat of eviction from the palaces. The gummints don't want to chip you, put you in a burqa, or herd you like cows. They just fear that enough of you get sick or die, it's their presidencies and premierships down the toilet. So they do need you alive and safe.
As for the question about whether the vaccines are made right or not, how and when will anyone know for sure? If the bureaucrats are taking the darn thing, you can bet it's more or less safe. At worst it won't prevent the disease. At best it will. In some cases, it will cause already weakened systems to malfunction. But the collective will be a whole lot safer for having evolved antibodies who at least know the thing [forgive my bumpkin assertion and correct me if I'm wrong].
It's a little like the D-Day landings. Some will fall, but an advance will still have to be made.
This whole thing is all pansy reaction, by the way. I still think the world's nuclear powers should together bomb China until it produces only hapless midgets playing pokeymon, for fcuking around with weaponized disease.
And before this thread devolves into a 'Fcuk thee!' and 'Thy mothere!' type free for all, I must tell you, Grom, that I found the Rorouni Kenshin series a blast. The last movie was a bit silly but the second last one 'The Beginning' was an experience up there with Zatoichi.
But you look away from what you think are Conspiracy Theories when I point out that the bureaucrats you're relying on for medical knowledge are the people who worked to make the US complicit in the creation of the virus.

So Texas needs to Shut Down but also Shut Up about all the new settlers the Feds are allowing in from countries with an 80% unvaccinated rate?

If the bureaucrats are taking the darn thing, you can bet it's more or less safe. I for one decline to give any credence whatsoever to statements by any state or federal bureaucrat that a single one of them has in fact received the vax. Even if they seem to have received the shot from a labeled bottle on live television, it could well have been a trivial deception for them and their cronies to have faked the actual process. The oligarchy thrives on deception and manipulation of its serfs.

I'm NOT relying on YOUR bureaucrats for medical knowledge. Far as I'm concerned, they are garbage. But, IMO, the "experts" that you keep quoting are garbage squared.
Now, why don't you go and read on "non-binary (Aristotelian) logic and stop bothering me?

Maybe you should stop pretending to lecture people on binary logic when you act like anyone who wants to find out about _TREATING_ the disease is a threat to your precious vaccine.

I'll jump in with my disgust at the recent attacks of American patriot and successful entrepreneur Mike Lindell:
In my opinion, anyone who openly disparages Mike Lindell is clearly the enemy, no additional PID required. The attached graphic depicts some familiar logos of the 'box store - Made in China' enemy. The DOJ, FBI, and intelligence agencies are little more than modern day Schutzstaffel, eagerly supporting the globalist, moneyed cabal. So-called 'endless wars' have fallen on hard times. The Schutztaffel must now focus their attention on the internal threat. The current crisis de jour is the plandemic. Endless plandemics? Yes of course, and we must fight them at every turn.
And what a wonderful way to virtue signal and appear socially benevolent while not only ridding the kingdom of the unborn, but also the non-producing elderly. The late Murad Jacob "Jack" Kevorkian, the Wuhan scientists, and Tony Fauci, all kindred brothers.
"Choice" is of course limited to issues pertaining to reproduction. Get the JAB you insolent peasants!

A small mark of the growing resistance, I went to Wally World yesterday to get groceries, the first time since the Gov of Nevada reinstituted masking indoors. The sign at the front door said masking was mandatory to enter, but.....about 30% of the customers and several employees were unmasked, lots of them old, but a number of younger family types and moms with kids. No one said a word, and everyone just pretended it was just a normal day.

The guy that developed the vaccine's name is Dr Malone. He was on Bannon, episode 1137 from 31 July. He is pro vaccine, but disappointed in what's happening. He plain talks side effects, The USG plan, why it will fail from a virologist perspective, and what he believes the future should be. I wish everyone arguing here would take the time to listen to him. He believes in the vaccine, does not believe everyone should get it and explains why. He talks about Fauchi and his noble lie, the DC group think/group panic. Like Bannon or hate him, the info/data points here are honest.

Since they are all fine with vaccine passports, they are good with Voter ID cards proving you are an american citizen, updated once a year lest you are purged from the rolls automatically? And with ANY act of voter fraud punishable by death? Deal.

I can't wait for the pretzel writing contest to justify vax passports but no voter ID.... but since the individual name is on the vax doc, isn't that a form of voter ID?

#9, some GOP senator suggested just that. Any state that wants to do vaccine passports has to do voter ID too. Of course, there's no way the dems agree to that, but it's out there for discussion and news mileage.

[Iran Press TV] Militants in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo ...formerly the Congo Free State, Belgian Congo, Zaire, and who knows what else, not to be confused with the Brazzaville Congo aka Republic of Congo, which is much smaller and much more (for Africa) stable. DRC gave the world Patrice Lumumba and Joseph Mobutu, followed by years of tedious civil war. Its principle industry seems to be the production of corpses. With a population of about 74 million it has lots of raw material... (DRC) have killed at least 16 civilian hostages, military and local sources say.
According to local civilian sources, the victims had been held by members of the Allied Democratic Forces ...the ADF is one of several murderous Moslem groups in NE Congo. In 2019 the U.S. Treasury Department imposed sanctions on them for the usual reasons. They don't appear to be affiliated with al-Qaeda or Islamic State, though ISIS claims their work from time to time — they just like killing infidels.... (ADF), which the US links to the Takfiri ...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed... ISIS terrorist group.
Local official Dieudonne Malangai said on Tuesday that the hostages, who included two women, were killed along a main road near Idohu, in the conflict-ravaged Ituri Province.
Speaking in Komanda Village, 40 kilometres away from the site of the slaughter, Ituri's military governor, Johnny Luboya Nkashama, strongly condemned the attack. "We will reinforce our presence in the region," he told a meeting with local residents of Komanda.
"Helicopters are already on the scene and other military personnel are on their way with trucks and munitions to assure security in the region and to organize safe convoys along this road," the governor added.

[LIBYAREVIEW] Tunisia is witnessing rapid developments after President Kais Saied’s decision last week to freeze the Parliament, and lift the immunity of its members.Saied’s decision has opened the door to prosecuting those involved in acts of violence and terrorism, the release of terrorists, and the smuggling of mercenaries and snuffies across the border. These are believed to be linked to Parliament Speaker, and the Head of the pro-Moslem BrüderbundEnnahda Movement, Rashid Ghannouchi.
Over the past years, Ennahda Movement has allegedly involved itself in neighbouring Libya; by heavily supporting the Moslem Brüderbund and its allies including militias in Libya with weapons and mercenaries.
Ghannouchi is believed to have had a prominent role in supporting the militias in western Libya, as he helped release holy warrior suspects in Tunisia, and worked to transfer them to Tripoli

The al-Thani family, which owns Qatar, has been funding the old Muslim Brother Rashid Ghannouchi long before Turkey. It began in the early nineteen nineties. Turkey (i.e. Erdogan) really began to play a role when it grabbed control of the Muslim Brotherhood after Morsi's failure in Egypt. If Saied can reduce the influence of Ghannouchi and his Ennahda Party in Tunisia that nation could be poised to re-enter that small circle of rational Muslim nations.
[Rudaw] The United Kingdom has funded the renovation and expansion of a detention facility holding Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. (ISIS) suspects in northeast Syria (Rojava), the Ministry of Defence has confirmed to Rudaw English.
"As part of the Global Coalition's collective stabilisation efforts in the region, the UK has provided technical advice and funding for the refurbishment and expansion of a detention facility for ISIS [ISIS] fighters in NE Syria," a ministry spokesperson said via email.
"The Coalition has made significant progress in the fight against ISIS, including regaining the territory they once held," they added.
On Sunday, Coalition commander Paul Calvert said the UK has given $20 million to expanding a prison holding ISIS detainees in Hasaka.
"Our British coalition partners have invested 20 million dollars in expanding the Hasaka prison. We anticipate that project will be completed in September," he said during a speech on the success of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and coalition in fighting ISIS.
The security of prisons holding ISIS prisoners in Rojava has been a concern in recent years, with several riots and prison escapes taking place at Hasaka’s Sanaa prison last year.
Thousands of prisoners from around 50 countries are held in the prison, most of whom were detained by Kurdish and coalition forces in the last ISIS stronghold of Baghouz in March 2019.
In October, a Kurdish official claimed Rojava would begin to try ISIS members in local courts in the first few months of this year, but such proceedings have yet to begin.

[IsraelTimes] Israel Police says counter-terrorism troops came under ’massive fire’ during overnight West Bank arrest operations; 1 Paleostinian at death's door; no Israeli injuries.
Undercover Border Police forces clashed with Paleostinian button men in the West Bank city of Jenin during a heavy exchange of fire early Tuesday morning, with several of the attackers hit, Israel Police said in a statement.
Police said members of its counter-terrorism unit, known by its Hebrew acronym Yamam, "neutralized a number of terrorists" who had shot up the troops during arrest operations in Jenin.
Forces came under "massive fire" during the operations, police said.
The attackers also hurled bombs, Molotov cocktails and rocks at the Israeli troops, police said.
Six Paleostinians were hit by Israeli fire, including one who was hospitalized at death's door, the official Paleostinian Authority’s WAFA news agency reported.
There were no injuries to Israeli forces, but an armored vehicle was slightly damaged from the gunfire, police said.
The initial arrest operation in the northern West Bank city was conducted jointly with Israel Defense Force soldiers, police said.
The statement did not provide any further details about the arrest operation, the nature of the activities, what the suspects were wanted for, or whether any of those shot had been targeted for arrest.
Last month, six Paleostinian button men were shot during a similar incident in Jenin.
[REGNUM] Very hot weather will set in the Astrakhan, Volgograd, Rostov regions and the Stavropol Territory by the end of the working week, said Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center.
According to him, the heat wave will affect many regions in the European part of Russia, but in some continental regions the average temperature will reach 43C (109.4 F).
"It is very hot on the lower Volga, in the Astrakhan region. Up to 43C in the Volgograd region, in the Rostov region also up to 43C, as well as in the south of Stavropol," said the head of the Hydrometeorological Center.
The same abnormal increase in temperature, according to Wilfand, will occur in cities on the Black Sea coast.
"Vacationers go for warmth, but it's actually hot there. Even on the Black Sea coast up to 35 ºC and in the Sochi area too. In Simferopol 30-37C, in Sevastopol 30-35C," he noted.
[REGNUM] Albanian media reported on August 3 that a certain Emanuela Datsi was hindering the return of her compatriots from ISIS to their homeland, to Albania and Kosovo.
According to the Albanian news agency Top Channel, the woman acts on behalf of ISIS and threatens Albanians who want to return home with a ban on prayers.
According to information received by Kurdish intelligence, Emanueli's husband Almir Datsi died fighting for ISIS in Syria. The woman is engaged in the propaganda of extremism in the camp, where the wives and daughters of the militants live.
It is reported that some women are being held hostage, and there are those who cannot leave the ISIS camp due to fear for their lives.
Typical ISIS Women’s Morals Brigade stuff, in other words.

I'll bet many, that have lived and survived thru the various US Gasoline, natural Gas, Medical Doctor, medicine, Ammo and food shortages over the last 40+ years. Are suitably stocked for the next 18 to 24 months.
WHY?
Because likely you grew up learning to adapt and wasn't fed hand-n-foot and pampered. eg. If you were military brat you lived on Frozen Milk and bread thawed as needed.
What I see as the future sufferers are the ones that did not look 2 years down the road when the C-19 started.
Those that didn't bother to think about the plants closed or shutdown due to lack of workers to produce basic items like FOOD not masks and hand cleaners. eg. Bacon
So likely they did not imagine stockpiles/Inventories would be seriously depleted or even sold to the highest bidder eg. China and USA Hogs in 2020-2021.
So they did not see the likely upcoming 2021-2020+ spot Shortages.
BTW: Next time anyone is in the Super Market, start looking at the BEST BY DATES. Too many canned items are now running barely at 1 year. Where before we were seeing canned items running 18 to 24+ months.
Also note: the growing empty shelves ... yes even in Wally World food isles. eg... Rice shelves are partially stocked at best and usually sold out of brands like "Water-Maid" or 25% to 30% higher prices.
[AnNahar] With the exit of U.S.-led foreign forces in Afghanistan near completion, the Taliban ...Arabic for students... has ramped up its offensive, capturing half the country's districts and border crossings and encircling several lovely provincial capitals.
A recap since the sweeping offensive began in May:
- FIERCE FIGHTING -
At the start of May, NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all.... begins a concurrent withdrawal of its mission in Afghanistan involving 9,600 soldiers, 2,500 of which are American.
Intense fighting breaks out between the Taliban and government forces in the southern Helmand ...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan... province and the turbans capture Burka in northern Baghlan province.
A kaboom outside a girls' school on May 8 in Kabul kills 85 mostly girl students in an attack, the deadliest in a year, that is not claimed by any group but blamed on the Taliban.
Mid-May, U.S. forces withdraw from the air base in Kandahar, one of the largest in the country.
- TALIBAN ADVANCES -
The turbans seize districts in Wardak province, 40 km (25 miles) from Kabul, and take control of districts in restive Ghazni, a key province between two roads connecting Kabul to Kandahar, the second-largest city.
In mid-June, the Taliban claim to have captured several districts in the northern provinces of Faryab, Takhar and Badakhshan, forcing military leaders to strategically retreat from a number of areas.
- KEY BORDERS -
The Taliban takes control of the main Shir Khan Bandar border crossing with Tajikistan, prompting the country on June 22 to check the combat readiness of its armed forces.
The turbans seize other routes to Tajikistan too, as well as the districts leading to Kunduz, capital of the province of the same name, about 50 kilometers from the Tajik border in northern Afghanistan.
- U.S. LEAVES BAGRAM -
Officials on July 2 announce the departure of all U.S. and NATO troops from Bagram, Afghanistan's biggest air base, which served as the linchpin for U.S.-led operations in the country for the past two decades.
Two days later, the Taliban seize the key district of Panjwai in Kandahar, their birthplace and former bastion.
- KEY PORT -
The Taliban announce on July 9 they have captured Afghanistan's biggest border crossing with Iran, Islam Qala, one of the major ports through which Kabul conducts most of its official trade with the Islamic Theocratic Republic.
- AIRPORT -
Afghan authorities say on July 11 they have installed an anti-missile system at Kabul airport to counter incoming rockets.
Days later on July 14, the turbans took control of Spin Boldak border crossing with Pakistain, also a key trade route between the two neighboring countries.
On July 22, the turbans claim they now control 90 percent of Afghanistan's borders. Earlier in the month, they said they controlled 85 percent of the country's territory, figures disputed by the government and impossible to independently verify.
Three days later U.S. General Kenneth McKenzie, head of the U.S. Army Central Command, says the U.S. military will carry out more air strikes in support of Afghan forces and to stem the Taliban offensive.
- URBAN CENTERS -
In a sharp escalation over the weekend, the Taliban offensive focuses on urban centers. Overnight the turbans assault at least three lovely provincial capitals -- Lashkar Gah, Kandahar and Herat ...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns... On Monday, the government announces the deployment of hundreds of commandos to the area of Lashkar Gah in a bid to stop a first major city from falling to the Taliban.
The capture of any major city would take the Taliban's offensive to another level and fuel concerns about the ability of the Afghan military.

This calculation unfortunately glosses over one "leetle" fact. The price of all "essentials", basic food staples, water & electricity services, heating gas, petrol and such have gone up well above 20% and even above 30% in some cases.
Sure the things cost the same if not a bit cheaper if you are earning in £/$/€ but for those that earn ₺... Heh.

[MAIL] Men who ejaculate more often have a lower risk of developing prostate cancer, a new study finds.
Researchers from Harvard University analyzed data from nearly 32,000 men and found that ejaculating at least 21 times a month cut the risk of developing the cancer by one-third.
The links between ejaculation and prostate cancer are not fully known.
However, some believe ejaculation could rid the prostate of carcinogens, lower inflammation and also lead to less stress and better sleep, all of which can reduce risk of the cancer.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A seven-year-old girl was killed in Leb ...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers, a practice dating back to the heady human sacrifice days of Baal Moloch. In 2020 Hezbollahblew up a considerable portion of Beirut and many of its inhabitants when its ammonium nitrate faci8lity exploded. They blamed it on... somebody else. It wasn't them though. Trust them on that... after being hit by stray bullets as she stood outside the entrance to her home, according to media reports.
Al Arabiya reported on Tuesday that Tayona Sarraf died from her wounds after being struck by the bullets in Miniara in North Lebanon’s Akkar region.
The Lebanese community is said to be in mourning over the tragedy.
No arrests have yet been made, according to reports.
Miniara residents have called on police to investigate the incident and uncover and punish the shooters.
Social media also circulated a video of Tayona’s funeral, in which her father appeared screaming and crying over the loss of his daughter.

The powerful Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT) signaled its unhappiness in January of this year when it organized a general strikes to protest unemployment, inflation, etc. The Union held strikes in a number of states beginning in Gafsa, in southwestern Tunisia, on January 7, followed by another strike in the eastern-central Sfax region on the 12th. The fact that the UGTT does not demand the resignation of the present government is a sign that it is willing to rid or at least limit the power of the Islamist Ennahda Party.
[OneIndia] Four drones, including one near an Army camp were spotted at the Bari Brahmana area of Jammu and Kashmir ...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. 's Samba sector.
The drones were spotted by the J&K police posted under the Bari Brahmana cop shoppe. As the drones were flying out of range, the personnel did not open fire. The police had requested the Army troops posted under the 92 Infantry Brigade for their support.
On June 27 a drone dropped off two explosives at the Jammu air base in which two personnel sustained minor injuries. There have been a spate of drone sightings in the aftermath of that incident. The NIA took up the probe into the case.
The Intelligence Bureau has also sounded an alert ahead of Independence Day and said that terror groups would look to strike in the national capital. Groups such as the Jaish-e-Mohammad ...literally Army of Mohammad, a Pak-based Deobandi terror group founded by Maulana Masood Azhar in 2000, after he split with the Harkat-ul-Mujaheddin. In 2002 the government of Pervez Musharraf banned the group, which changed its name to Khaddam ul-Islam and continued doing what it had been doing before without missing a beat... , Lashkar-e-Tayiba and Khalistan groups would look to carry out terror strikes in Delhi, an IB official told OneIndia.
The alert comes at a time of the Parliament being in session. Of late, the security agencies have been dealing with the menace of drones. A recent attack on the Indian Air Force Base in Jammu was termed as one of its kind. IB officials also say that Pakistain based terror groups would look to launch attacks in the national capital ahead of Independence Day.
[Iran Press TV] Marking the first anniversary of last year’s deadly explosion in Beirut, the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement has stressed the need to shed light on the truth about the national tragedy, urging the authorities to seriously follow up on the investigation into the incident.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, on the eve of the earth-shattering kaboom’s anniversary, Hezabollah said it "recalls with great pain the suffering of the Lebanese in those difficult hours and the upshots and damages of the ordeal at all levels."
"We stress the necessity of solidarity and cohesion among the Lebanese to overcome the painful ordeal," the statement said.
Hezbollah also called on the relevant judicial officials to address the issue with seriousness in an effort to bring the truths to light before the Lebanese and international public opinion.
Hezbollah vehemently cautioned against ongoing domestic and foreign pressure aimed at deflecting the reality behind the tragedy.
This would consequently put an end to "internal manipulation, external exploitation, false accusations and distortion of facts at the expense of the truth, justice, as well as the pain and destiny of the Lebanese," al-Manar cited the statement as saying.
The explosion hit hundreds of tons of ammonium nitrate that had been stored in an unsafe manner at the Beirut port for years, on August 4 last year. The blast killed more than 200 people, and maimed 6,500 others, besides destroying vast expanses of the capital.
Parliament Speaker Nabih Knobby Berri ...Speaker of the Lebanese parliament, head of the Amal Shiite party aligned with Hezbollah, a not very subtle sock puppet of the Medes and Persians... , meanwhile, said the legislative body had assigned priority to working with the judicial system towards bringing the incident into light.
The finger of blame, he added, had to be pointed towards those who were seeking to exploit the blood of the victims, not those who were not begrudging their cooperative efforts. We know who that'd be.

More than 15 million people live in households that owe as much as $20 billion to their landlords, according to the Aspen Institute. As of July 5, roughly 3.6 million people in the U.S. said they faced eviction in the next two months, according to the U.S. Census Bureau's Household Pulse Survey.
These are wild-ass guesses. The actual number of renters who can't pay their rent/arrears is unknown as is the number of landlords who are facing foreclosure because (without rent income) they are unable to make their mortgage and real estate tax payments and so face losing their properties altogether to lenders and real estate tax authorities. The actual problem has not even partially been faced by our "Top Men".

The government will take over the properties for tax foreclosures, then the tenants will discover what a real absentee landlord is like. Anyone who lived on base housing, circa 1940s wood, in the 70s, knows that the biggest slum lord in America was the government.
[NotTheBee] e.g., $250M for removal of invasive species; $50M to study a mileage based travel tax; studies on hitting deer, Amtrak service to Canada, promoting women to drive trucks, studying limousine safety....
Think about this the Federal Gov. will charge for the right to travel.
While some will argue we alreay pay a State/Fed Gas Tax now. That tax does not entail reporting who, what when and where you travel so FED's can track you.
The #UnitedStates says that an explosion in the Afghan capital of #Kabul bears the hallmarks of the #Taliban and that one of Washington’s many concerns about Afghanistan is that it could spiral into civil war.https://t.co/D4J3kfuIFj
A powerful explosion rocks an upscale neighborhood of #Afghanistan’s capital in an attack that apparently targeted the country’s acting defense minister. At least 10 people have been wounded, a health official says.https://t.co/SG6n3wOWIQ
Says Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin:
In the center of Kabul, an attack was made on the building of the Ministry of Defense of Afghanistan. The minister (appointed just a couple of weeks ago) was not injured and was evacuated.
A car bomb was blown up outside the building, after which the attackers (or the attacker) entered the territory of the ministry, where a shooting battle began with the security forces. Later, another explosion occurred in the center of Kabul. In the evening, sporadic skirmishes continued in the city, with rallies held in the area adjacent to the administrative block against the proxy war that Pakistan is waging with the Taliban against Afghanistan.
The Taliban have not yet claimed responsibility for the attack. It cannot be ruled out that this Kabul cell of ISIS decided to remind about itself. It may also be noted that the Afghan government's propaganda over the past couple of weeks has clearly emphasized that that the war in Afghanistan is not being waged against the Taliban, but against Pakistan, which is running Taliban puppets.
This narrative is an attempt to transform the perception of war as a conflict between Afghans and conflict between Afghans and Pakistanis, in order to increase the morale of the troops and attract volunteers to the army and police. How successful this course will be will be clear over the longer distance. Pakistan of course denies being involved in the ongoing Taliban offensive. will be understandable at a longer distance.

[WND] Could Howard Rubin end up tainting George Soros like Jeffrey Epstein tainted so many other billionaires?
Rubin is a top money manager who was a "right-hand man" for the leftist billionaire, according to the New York Post. He worked at the Soros Fund from 2008 to 2015, having come out of retirement to take the job, according to the U.K. Daily Mail.
Now, he's the subject of a court case -- accused by multiple women of engaging in sadistic sex-for-hire practices that went way beyond what they had consented to.
And while he was known to be volatile professionally, it's not the kind of headline Rubin's career would suggest.
During 30 years on Wall Street, Rubin established a solid record working at other high-end investment firms. He was immortalized in "Liar's Poker," the debut book by Michael Lewis of "Moneyball" and "The Big Short" fame. In it, Rubin described how "the trading floor at Salomon Brothers felt like a Las Vegas casino. You made your bets, handled risk, in the midst of a thousand distractions."
Even then, some viewed him as an out-of-control Wall Street type.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
I came across that biblical bit some time ago, way back before Epstein killed himself. Somehow, it stuck in my head.

Strange that this story has been resurrected again from back in 2016--that seems so long ago.

Yesterday we watched as 6 ships were reported losing steering, probably due to mines, in the Gulf of Oman and one of them, the Asphalt Princess, was boarded by armed men and taken toward Iran.
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]
Iran's Islamic Republican Guards Corps denies involvement in the incident, calling it a pretext for “hostile action” against Tehran.https://t.co/WZZ5nwL66S
[Iran Press TV] The Iranian Foreign Ministry has dismissed ...Tut tut, my good man!... rumors about the entry of the country’s military forces into foreign ships passing in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, warning against such false reports propagated by the Western and Zionist media.
Saeed Khatibzadeh, the Foreign Ministry front man, made the remark in an interview with Tasnim news agency on Tuesday after UK sources reported the "potential hijack" of a British vessel off the coast of the United Arab Emirates’ Fujairah region.
British authorities claimed that the Panama-flagged Asphalt Princess oil tanker had been hijacked, and said they were "working on the assumption Iranian military or proxies boarded the vessel" in the Gulf of Oman.
Khatibzadeh categorically rejected as "untrue" the reports circulated by Western and Israeli media about the involvement of Iran’s Armed Forces in the incident.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry front man also called on all parties to be vigilant against the spread of fake news, given the contradictory news about maritime security in the region.
SUCCESSIVE MARITIME INCIDENTS IN REGION ’SUSPICIOUS’
Khatibzadeh earlier described as "suspicious" a number of reported security incidents involving ships in the Persian Gulf region and warned against any effort to create a "vicious atmosphere to pursue certain political goals."
Khatibzadeh said Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... pursues the policy of establishing security and stability in the region, adding that the Islamic Theocratic Republic provides naval support for vessels passing through the strategic waters in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
"Iran's naval forces are ready to provide naval support, if needed, to transit ships in the region," he said. "In case of problems in navigation systems, the Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran is ready to provide assistance and investigate the matter closely."
Khatibzadeh also expressed Iran’s readiness to cooperate with the regional countries to boost maritime security and monitoring of naval transit routes.
The latest incident comes less tan a week after the United States and the United Kingdom joined Israel in accusing Iran of orchestrating Thursday's attack on an Israeli tanker off the coast of Oman, despite Tehran’s firm denial.

According to the Reuters news agency, which quoted two security maritime sources, Iranian-backed forces were believed to have seized one of the tankers.
Shipping authority Lloyd’s List and maritime intelligence firm Dryad Global both identified the vessel involved as Panama-flagged asphalt tanker Asphalt Princess. The vessel’s owner, listed as Emirati free zone-based Glory International, could not immediately be reached for comment late Tuesday.
The ship was heading towards Iran under the control of armed men, Lloyd’s List said.

The hijackers of a tanker in the Gulf, off the coast of the United Arab Emirates, left the vessel on Wednesday morning, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported.
Oman's Maritime Security Centre said on Twitter on Wednesday that it had received information about the Panama-flagged Asphalt Princess being subjected "to a hijacking incident in international waters in the Gulf of Oman" and that the sultanate's navy had deployed several ships to help secure international waters.
[OneIndia] The National Investigation Agency has taken into possession two mobile phones recovered from Indian Mujahideen A locally recruited auxilliary of Pakistain's Lashkar-e-Taiba, designed to give a domestic patina to Pakistain's terror war against its bigger neighbor... operative Tehseen Akhtar in connection with the Antilla Bomb Scare case. Akhtar is lodged in the Tihar jail.
While Akhtar has accepted that the cell phones belong to him, but has denied sending messages claiming responsibility for the incident. The NIA collected the phones from the Special Cell of the Delhi Police and is now looking into evidence against a senior officer of the Mumbai police. Once the evidence is analysed the NIA is likely to arrest the senior police officer.
On March 11, the Special Cell of the Delhi Police had seized the phones from Akhtar's possession. The phones were being used by him since October last. The police is trying to ascertain how he had managed to get access to a cell phone in jail. It was also learnt that along with Akthar, 6 others including an operative of the al-Qaeda were using the cell phone.
