A bunch of WHITE RACIST Pretty sure 99.99% were DEMOCRATS down in FLA. Seriously violated the US Civil Rights and the MEDIA covered for them even back then.

Look we all know some serious crap happen 50tp 160+ years ago.
But Racism is no longer a Local state or federal government policy.

The DEMOCRAT'S JIM CROW LAWS in the South and YES in the North also, are no longer on the books.

A vast overwhelming MAJORITY of the USA no longer supports, feels or acts racist. FBI is tracking less than 100 real White Racist Hate Groups in 2020 with membership totaling less 50,000 / 332,000,000 or 0.015~ of 1%

However BLM has a membership of about 200,000

Note: Also unless you were already a 16+ White Teen back in 1960, it is highly unlikely your were supportive of Racism.

QUESTIONS:
Who Poplar Bear?
Who is attack Asian?
How much did the BLM Leadership make ... according to news reports purchase several Million $$ houses?
Who has been seen on the NEWS rioting, Arson and Looting.
Did your Elected official Champaign supporting Racism against Blacks or was it to the other way around?

So if the Politicians and Millionaire Race Pimps would quit stirring the Pot every election to incite voters. Maybe, just maybe the past can be put behind us and we can continue to move forward.

Portable MORGUES are sent to Florida after record-breaking average of 212 daily deaths and 21,534 cases this week push hospitals and crematoriums to breaking point

#1  [Not the Bee]
The Miami Herald on Thursday ran with this shocking and arresting headline:

Florida COVID update: 901 added deaths, largest single-day increase in pandemic history

It's obvious what the paper is trying to communicate: That the state on Wednesday recorded a staggering 901 deaths, a brutal toll and a razor-sharp indictment of Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis's handling of the pandemic there. In particular the number is plainly supposed to indicate that the pandemic is spiraling out of control as deaths skyrocket to unimaginable numbers. It was actually as low as 8

Unsurprisingly, the 901 figure was spread far and wide on social media. Here's a viral post from a Florida Democratic activist: *snipped*
We could do this all day, but you get the point: People are rightfully freaking out over the apparently worsening pandemic in the state, as exemplified by 901 Floridians having died on a single day.

Here's the thing, though: The 901 figure is bogus, at least as far as it's meant to symbolize an entire day's worth of deaths. It's not. Not even close.

Rather, the numbers represent the cumulative deaths gathered from a dataset stretching as far back as March of 2020.
Florida didn't report 901 deaths on a single day; it reported 901 deaths from a set of over three dozen days.

It's not surprising that it's done this way: Public health authorities are always working on a lag when it comes to reported deaths. If ten people die from COVID-19 on a Monday, the health department might only report one of those deaths on a Tuesday, then two on Wednesday, then the remaining seven on Thursday as death certificates come in and are confirmed. This is done on a rolling basis and then updated in bulk at certain intervals – a policy DeSantis' opponents allege is meant to hide total deaths... you know, for like a few weeks?

To get an idea of where all the deaths occurred, here's a dataset breakdown of the 901 deaths announced this week...

Government Corruption
The Biggest Threat to Aircraft Carriers is Not Russia or China
[National Interest] Here's What You Need To Remember: With the federal deficit growing, the military is likely to see some lean years.

Is it worth sacrificing some F-35s and aircraft carriers to trim the federal budget deficit?

That’s one option on the table, according to the Congressional Budget Office. The CBO estimates that if current spending continues, the $779 trillion deficit in 2018 will double to $1.4 trillion by 2028, which means the share of GDP eaten up by debt is soaring from 3.8 percent today to 4.8 percent.

With numbers like that, hundred-million-dollar warplanes and $13 billion aircraft carriers become tempting targets for the budgeteer.

Not Incompetence: Afghanistan and Globalism
[American Thinker] Is the Biden administration's messy withdrawal from Afghanistan incompetence, or is it exactly as planned? Is there a hidden globalist plan aimed at empowering Islamic governments in the Mideast? If yes, how would empowering the Taliban fit in the larger plan of globalists and believers in the New World Order?

Socialists and globalists, whose home today is in the Democrat party, have been speaking about their lofty plans for decades, constantly testing the waters of public opinion and speaking from both sides of their mouths. They insert insane ideas in the American psyche, then quickly deny they really said what they said. After speaking about her dream of an open border, Hillary Clinton denied her comments by saying she meant only to call for reforms but not open borders. But if we dare take their comments seriously, we are branded conspiracy theorists.

After decades of listening to the far left, by now we, the people of America, should more or less know where the modern-day Democrat party intends to take America and how these people envision the world. Now it's up to us to put two and two together and start uncovering what the deceptive left is really telling us. Those who reject globalism and the New World Order should start analyzing and exposing globalist policies. We should stop accusing the left of being incompetent because it is not.

All we need to do is listen to globalists — their plans, lies, hidden agendas — and expose them even when they give us double-messages aimed at throwing us off if we take their words seriously. We can't be intimidated when they accuse us of being conspiracy theorists. It's time to put the socialist-globalist agenda into perspective and connect it with their policies and behavior, instead of just calling them incompetent or accuse them of not caring about the unintended consequences. This is because the consequences are actually intended.

Western globalists aim at eliminating borders between nations, and they have no problem starting themselves, in America and Western Europe. Such an agenda, if fully understood, should explain why modern-day Democrats have no fear of China while fearing and hating their own patriotic citizens who oppose globalism and love American sovereignty. It's unimaginable that Democrats defended China over their own President Trump, calling him "racist" after he referred to COVID as the "China Virus."

Science & Technology
Who Created COVID-19?
[Substack] Since the compromised Federal government refuses to answer this question, Emerald Robinson gives it a shot.
It’s now widely known that Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, was responsible for sending millions of U.S. federal dollars to the Wuhan Lab of Virology in China to support extremely dangerous “gain of function” research (a term of art for bioweapons research) via third-party proxies like EcoHealth Alliance.

Clearly, Fauci was funding this dangerous research on weaponizing bat coronaviruses, but who were the scientists actually manipulating and genetically altering these bat coronaviruses into “chimeras” in a lab? Who actually created COVID-19? Here’s some obvious truths that the corporate media won’t tell you.

1) In 2015, an article in NATURE magazine discussed how a bat coronavirus had been engineered in a lab — which stirred up a debate about dangerous "gain of function" research. The researchers had created a “chimera” virus made up of a surface protein of SHC014 from horseshoe bat in China and the backbone of a SARS virus.

The people who defended this research in the article were: Ralph Baric at UNC and Peter Daszak at EcoHealth Alliance.

Afghanistan
The Pentagon Seems to Admit They Enabled the Kabul Suicide Bombing in Incredibly Damning Presser
BLUF:
[Red State] If anyone was wondering how reportedly hundreds of ISIS-K fighters made it to Kabul, including those that facilitated the deadly bombings, now we know. Bagram is less than 30 miles from Kabul, and while we are continually told the Taliban and ISIS are sworn enemies, the Taliban let out all of these terrorists without a second thought. Now, the consequences of that have been realized.

How does something like this even happen? Why were they not transferred out of the country when it became clear the Taliban were making gains? While it might have made sense to leave the Afghan government in charge of Taliban prisoners, why would the United States leave thousands of terrorists hellbent on attacking Americans in such a tenuous situation?

Griffin also asked about the information-sharing arrangement between the Taliban and the United States that led to the names of American citizens being handed over. Astonishingly, the Pentagon contradicted itself, claiming that information sharing wasn’t happening.

Pretty much anything we had was destroyed in the recent controlled detonation at EAGLE BASE. You'll have to contact former host nation officials for additional details.

We direct your attention to the President Biden orded Reaper strike yesterday in Nangarhar province, east of Kabul and bordering Pakistan.

Afghanistan: State Department Still Doesn't Know Shiite from Shinola
[UNZ] With the American media as master of ceremonies, pundits and politicians—all partners in the neocon-neoliberal joint venture in Afghanistan—are barking mad over the images coming out of the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, and the reality these optics portend.

Naturally, media "reporting" from Afghanistan is nothing but an unremitting sentimental gush, aimed at creating a state of heightened emotions.

"The children; the children; the translators; the translators. Americans held hostage behind enemy lines. ’Teach the Taliban a lesson, Corn Pop,’" demanded a "macho" personality at Fox News. The same litany runs on a continuous loop.

Forbes reporters dissolved into puddles of tears at the sight of U.S. Air Force pilots bringing in plane loads of young, strong, military-aged men, unfreighted by women and children.

On August 20, about 5,700 people had been flown out of Kabul. Only 169 were American. "Make no mistake," slobbered Forbes, "lifting six times more people than an aircraft is designed to seat is a heroic achievement of logistics, skill and sheer grit."

I see a medal of commendation in the future of the Empire’s Pilot, who commandeered a U.S. Air Force C-17 to airlift 800 Afghani passengers from Kabul to Qatar.

Even in the animal world many responsible breeders of show and performance / working dogs refuse to use the cheaper OTC livestock version of ivermection for the monthly heartworm prevention that dogs should get, absorbing the higher cost of labeled brands like Heartgard that require a prescription. What a 1,200-1,800 lb bull or horse can tolerate in the way of additives or impurities can do real damage to dogs - or humans.

Afghanistan
Hiding behind his tears — Sorry Biden's decisions led to Kabul carnage
[NYPOST] The deep grief on President Joe Biden
...... 46th president of the U.S. Former Senator-for-Life from Delaware, an example of the kind of top-notch Washington intellect hacked up by the World's Greatest Deliberative Body. The guy who single-handedly lost Afghanistan......
’s face as his eyes swelled with tears was painful to watch.
No doubt. But did he have any idea what he was crying about?
But his personal suffering cannot exonerate him from the responsibility for what happened in Kabul.

Nor can his obscenely shameful effort to shift the blame to former President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
and even his own military commanders be taken seriously. Biden says the buck stops with him, but he doesn’t really mean it.

When the enemy strikes with deadly results, it’s somebody else’s fault. That’s not leadership and it certainly isn’t presidential.

If he truly claimed the credit, Biden would own up to the obvious fact that his actions played a big role in this horrific outcome. Instead, his claim that every commander agreed with him on the withdrawal plan is a bald-faced lie.

We know for certain the military argued against his hasty exit. Officers gave him alternatives and he said no because, for 50 years, Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. The guy who dumped Afghanistan. The copier doesdn't exist that could reelect him....
has always known best.

Yet when things go off the rails, he dares to hide behind the generals.

That’s politics, that’s Washington. It’s not the mark of a trustworthy commander-in-chief.

The worst day for our troops in Afghanistan in a decade will never be forgotten by those Gold Star families who received that dreaded knock on the door from someone in uniform. But it is also a terrible stain on America that our brave men and women were put in such a vulnerable situation.

They risked their lives in a heroic effort to save the terrified civilians of many nations. They have been succeeding in large measure, but have now paid an unacceptable and unnecessary price.

The shock isn’t just that there was a successful terror attack against America during our last stand at the chaotic, overrun Kabul airport. The shock is that it didn’t come sooner and claim even more lives.

The president’s pain, which always seems to be attached to the loss of son Beau Biden from cancer, does not change the fact his arguments for his position remain what they have been all along — unpersuasive, dishonest and foolhardy.

He set the terms of the withdrawal, including the abrupt abandonment of the Bagram Air Base, and approved the security-sharing arrangement with the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
, a terrorist organization. He proudly cites those decisions, but those and others carry the unmistakable stench of weakness. When tens of thousands of people converged on the airport, the chaos was an invitation for murder and mayhem.

The strongest military in the history of the world was a sitting duck, with our warfighters reduced to playing defense in an impossible situation.

Biden’s original sin was his determined rush to get out of Afghanistan on a fixed timetable. Risk-averse to a fault, he made the avoidance of more casualties his chief measure of success.

Iraq
Sadr announces he will contest election: state media
[Rudaw] Shiite holy man Moqtada Tater al-Sadr
...hereditary Iraqi holy man and leader of a political movement in Iraq. He had his hereditary rival, al-Khoei, assassinated only a few hours after the holy rival's appearance out of exile in 2003. Formerly an Iranian catspaw, lately he's gagged over some of their more outlandish antics, then went back to catspawry...
said he will contest Iraq’s October 10 elections, reversing an earlier decision to boycott the vote, state media reported Friday.
"A chicken in every pot..and a free dental plan"
The influential holy man and leader of the parliament’s largest bloc said he will contest the elections "with determination."

Explaining his decision, Sadr said he has "received a reform paper from the political parties" that meets his expectations and called on the parliament to implement the reforms outlined in the paper, without going into further detail.

In July, Sadr announced he was withdrawing from the election and pulling his support for the current and upcoming governments. "In order to preserve what is left of the nation and to save the nation that has been burnt by the corrupt and is still burning, I inform you that I will not be participating in the elections," he said in a televised speech.

Iraqis will go to the polls on October 10, a year ahead of schedule. The election was called to meet a demand of protesters who brought down the government of former Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi. However,
the hip bone's connected to the leg bone...
interest in the vote is low. Several parties from across the spectrum have announced they will not participate. All sides are questioning the legitimacy of the vote in an environment where powerful militias operate outside of government control, activists and election candidates are threatened, and the electoral commission and political elites are accused of fraud.

Sadr leads the Sairoon coalition and is known for changing his mind. He was among the first to speak up in January when the election was moved from June 6 to October 10, saying he would not accept any further delay. Sadr himself does not hold an elected position, but as leader of Sairoon, he wields heavy influence when it comes to government formation and agenda.

His decision was announced a day before Baghdad will host neighbor states for a regional summit.

There are a total of 3,249 candidates vying for 329 seats in the parliament. The official campaign period began on July 8, but has so far been lackluster.

Afghanistan
Taliban tells Kabul residents to hand over weapons, munitions in one week
[TASS] The Taliban radical movement has informed the residents of Kabul of the necessity to turn over weapons and ammunition, as well as state-owned vehicles within a week, the 1TV channel reported on Friday.

According to the channel, the militants threatened to undertake measures in case of a refusal to hand over the weapons voluntarily.

On August 18, Reuters reported similar demands by the Taliban when the representatives of the movement vowed to act openly for the first time.

After the Biden administration had announced the end of Washington’s 20-year-long military operation in Afghanistan and the launch of its troop pullout, the Taliban embarked on an offensive against Afghan government forces.

On August 15, Taliban fighters swept into Kabul without encountering any resistance, and gained full control over the Afghan capital within a few hours. Afghanistan’s President Ashraf Ghani said he had stepped down to prevent any bloodshed and subsequently fled the country.

Vice President Amrullah Saleh announced that, in the absence of the head of state, the constitution empowered him to become the caretaker president and urged the Afghan people to join the resistance against the Taliban. The armed resistance in the country’s Panjshir Province is led by Ahmad Massoud, the son of renowned guerilla commander Ahmad Shah Massoud (1953-2001). At present, Western nations are evacuating their citizens and embassy staff.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker Signs Sex Ed Bill Requiring Kindergartners to Define Gender Identity
[Breitbart] Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) of Illinois signed SB 818 into law last Friday, claiming the new sex ed standards that require kindergartners to learn to define gender identity “will help keep our children safe.”
Wealthest family in the state and one of the most fat lard asses.
“Modernizing our sex education standards will help keep our children safe and ensure important lessons like consent and internet safety are taught in classrooms,” Pritzker said in a statement. “By working together, we’ll continue to strengthen our education system and deliver the bright future our kids deserve.”

The new law, which takes effect immediately, requires public schools in the state that offer sex education to align their curriculum with the National Sex Education Standards (NSES), the creation of organizations that advocate for sex ed consistent with abortion rights and LGBTQ inclusion.

Creators of the standards also boast they have been updated to include:

Continual evolution in language related to gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, and sexual identity;

Inclusion of power and privilege, conscious and unconscious bias, intersectionality, and covert and overt discrimination, and the principles of reproductive justice, racial justice, social justice, and equity

Pritzker’s office states the new sex ed standards are “voluntary,” and that they are only mandated for school districts that are already teaching comprehensive sex education.

The new law, then, leaves it up to Illinois parents who oppose the new standards to opt their children out of sex ed, or to work to elect school board members who agree to stop teaching comprehensive sex ed in their districts.

Illinois Rep. Fred Crespo (D) expressed concern that no other state had signed onto the NSES standards.

The NSES were developed by Advocates for Youth, Answer, and the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS).

Since 2015, SIECUS has partnered with abortion industry giant Planned Parenthood and LGBTQ activist groups such as GLSEN and the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) to lead comprehensive sex-ed programs in schools throughout the country.

#1  I see this as a good thing. To enumerate all the various genders, the kids will need to be able to count up to at lest five. Being able to count will lead to a huge jump in math proficiency scores which currently, to use a statistical term, suck donkey balls and have been trending flat for decades.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Hezbollah accepts third shipment of Iranian fuel to Lebanon
[JPost] And the Ammonium Nitrate?
The leader of Lebanon's Iran-backed Hezbollah group, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, said on Friday a third vessel of Iranian fuel was agreed to ease crippling shortages in the country.

"We have agreed to start loading a third vessel," Nasrallah said in a televised speech.
The Seas are capricious, anything could happen at any time
"The coming days will prove those doubtful about the shipments arriving with fuel wrong ... and our words will be clear when the first vessel reaches Lebanon."

On Sunday Nasrallah had said the first vessel carrying Iranian fuel for Lebanon had already departed.

Hezbollah's foes in Lebanon have warned of dire consequences from the purchase, saying it risked sanctions being imposed on a country whose economy has been in meltdown for nearly two years.

Prime Minister-designate Najib Mikati said earlier on Friday in an interview with Saudi-owned Al Hadath television he was against anything that would harm Lebanon's interests but also asked critics of the Iranian fuel deals to provide help so that the country would not have to resort to them.

Nasrallah blamed the country's economic crisis on what he called an economic siege by the United States adding that so-called Caesar sanctions imposed by Washington on Syria had harmed Lebanon.

"Go ahead and give Lebanon an exemption for Iranian gasoline and diesel ... go ahead and give Lebanon an exemption from Caesar," Nasrallah said, addressing the United States in his speech.

Lebanon's worsening fuel shortages reached a crunch point this month threatening to bring daily life to a halt.

Nasrallah also urged top politicians to stop debating names for the new Cabinet and urgently form a government.

"It is high time this debate now ends," he said.

Lebanon has been run by the caretaker government of Prime Minister Hassan Diab, who resigned with his Cabinet after a massive Beirut port blast ripped through the capital a year ago.
Mikati is the third prime minister-designate since then to attempt to form a government with President Michel Aoun, a Hezbollah ally.

Jewish community in Latvia to get 40 million euros for Soviet misdeeds
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] Latvia is ready to allocate 40 million euros as compensation to the country's Jewish community for communal property lost during the Holocaust. This was reported by the local "Radio 4".

It is noted that the corresponding bill, prepared by the budgetary and financial commission of the parliament, was submitted to the parliamentarians for the first reading.

The bill provides that the amount will be paid over 10 years from the state budget. The funds should be allocated as compensation for part of the property that belonged to the Jewish community of Latvia before June 16, 1940, that is, before it was nationalized by the Soviet government, and then the Jewish community was practically destroyed during the Nazi occupation.

Both the Legal Bureau of the Parliament and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia expressed support for the bill.

MPs from the National Unity Party criticized the bill. In particular, MP Aleksandrs Kirshteins said that then the issue of payment of compensation to the Baltic Germans should be resolved and that Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia are responsible for the consequences of the occupation, from whose "successors", the MP believes, compensation should be demanded, and not from Latvia.

It is noted that the Jewish community of Latvia has the right to claim the return of 270 real estate objects, which before World War II belonged to Jewish organizations, not private individuals, and was nationalized. Or get compensation for them if a return is not possible.

Biden Pledges to 'Hunt Down' Those Behind Airport Attack
That’s going to be hard to do when our people have all been pulled out of the country.
[ToloNews] The two back-to-back explosions outside Kabul airport that claimed over 100 lives have been met with sharp reactions by world leaders and international organizations including the United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
US President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. You're a lyin' dog-faced pony soldier...
pledged that the people behind the attack will face retribution. Thirteen US soldiers also bit the dust in the earth-shattering kabooms.

"Those who carried out this attack, as well as anyone who wishes America harm, know this: we will not forgive. We will not forget. We will hunt you down and make you pay," Biden said at a presser hours after the attack.
"I'm told Corn Pop and his gang may be behind it"
Biden also said the attack will not stop the evacuation of Americans and the Afghans who have worked for American organizations.

"We will not be deterred by terrorists. We will not let them stop our mission. We will continue the evacuation. I have also ordered my commanders to develop operational plans to strike ISIS-K leadership and facilities. We will respond with force and precision at our time, the place we choose and the moment we choose," he added.

These are the US service members killed in the Kabul airport attack
[NYPost] The identities of the 13 US service members who were killed by an ISIS-K suicide bomber outside the Kabul airport while helping to oversee the evacuation of thousands of Americans and Afghan allies have begun to emerge.

The names of one Navy corpsman, seven Marines and one Army soldier killed in Thursday’s blast have been released, while the identities of an additional three Marines and one Army soldier have yet to be disclosed while the military works to inform their families.

“We continue to mourn the loss of these Marines and pray for their families. Our focus now is taking care of the families of those who were killed and caring for our injured,” Maj. Jim Stenger, a Marine Corps spokesperson, told The Post in an email.

Per protocol, the military does not release information on deceased service members until 24 hours after their family members have been notified, but relatives and local officials have already independently confirmed several of the deaths ahead of that timeline.

Here’s what we know about the US service members who were killed.

MAXTON SOVIAK, 22, NAVY
Soviak, a Navy hospital corpsman, hailed from Berlin Heights, Ohio, and graduated from Edison High School in Milan in 2017, the Sandusky Register reported.

A woman who identified herself as Soviak’s older sister and goes by Marilyn Soviak on Instagram, penned a heartbreaking post Friday that confirmed her brother’s death.

“I’ve never been one for politics and i’m not going to start now. What I will say is that my beautiful, intelligent, beat-to-the-sound of his own drum, annoying, charming baby brother was killed yesterday helping to save lives,” the sister wrote.

“[H]e was a f–king medic. there to help people. and now he is gone and my family will never be the same. there is a large Maxton sized hole that will never be filled,” she wrote alongside a slideshow of images showing the two as children.

“[H]e was just a kid. [W]e are sending kids over there to die. kids with families that now have holes just like ours.”

Soviak’s family later released a statement calling him a “wonderful son who loved his family, his community, and was proud to serve in the US Navy.”

“He was excited about the opportunities the Navy would offer him and planned to make the Navy a career,” the statement said.

“We are incredibly proud of his service to our country… Words cannot express how heartbroken we are with this news and we will miss Max tremendously.”

While in high school, Soviak played football and was on the honor roll, the outlet reported.

“Max was a good student who was active in sports and other activities throughout his school career. He was well respected and liked by everyone who knew him,” the school said in a statement, adding that news of his death has brought “great sorrow.”

Soviak also previously worked as a lifeguard and a maintenance technician, the outlet reported.

KAREEM NIKOUI, 20, MARINES
According to The Times of Israel, in full Kareem Mae’lee Grant Nikoui, in case it comes up later.
Kareem Nikoui was from Norco, California. His father didn’t realize his son had been killed until a clutch of Marines showed up at his door, the Daily Beast reported.

“I haven’t gone to bed all night,” the heartbroken dad told the outlet.

“I’m still in shock. I haven’t been able to grasp everything that’s going on.”

He said his son “loved what he was doing” and “always wanted to be a Marine.”

“He really loved that [Marine Corps] family. He was devoted — he was going to make a career out of this, and he wanted to go. No hesitation for him to be called to duty,” the dad said.

Ahead of his deployment to Afghanistan, Kareem Nikoui was stationed nearby at Camp Pendleton and often visited home on the weekends, bringing along “10 or 15 other Marines” with him, the dad told the Daily Beast.

“My wife and I felt very honored that [since] these other boys weren’t around their homes, that we were able to provide some sort of family life for them,” he said.

The father criticized President Biden’s sloppy withdrawal from Afghanistan and said he didn’t expect his son to be in this situation.

“They sent my son over there as a paper pusher and then had the Taliban outside providing security,” Steve Nikoui said.

“I blame my own military leaders … Biden turned his back on him. That’s it.”

The day before Kareem Nikoui was killed, he sent a video to his dad that showed him talking with Afghan children and giving them candy at the Kabul airport.

“He was born the same year it started, and ended his life with the end of this war,” the dad said, referring to the war that started in 2001.

“I’m really disappointed in the way that the president has handled this, even more so the way the military has handled it. The commanders on the ground should have recognized this threat and addressed it.”

DAVID LEE ESPINOZA, 20, MARINES
Espinoza was from Laredo, Texas, according to the Laredo Police Department.

“Our thoughts and prayers will remain with the family of United States Fallen Marine, David L. Espinoza, as well as to his friends and fellow Marines,” the agency wrote in a Facebook post alongside a photo of Espinoza.

“Semper Fi. Thank you for your service.”

Espinoza graduated from Lyndon B. Johnson High School in Laredo and lived in Rio Bravo his entire life, KGNS reported.

“Mr. Espinoza, a Laredo Marine killed in Afghanistan, embodied the values of America: grit, dedication, service, and valor. When he joined the military after high school, he did so with the intention of protecting our nation and demonstrating his selfless acts of service,” Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas) wrote on Twitter.

“I mourn him and all the fallen heroes in Afghanistan. My heart goes out to the Espinoza family in this extremely difficult time. The brave never die. Mr. Espinoza is a hero.”

Espinoza leaves behind a brother, mother and stepfather, News 4 San Antonio reported.

RYLEE MCCOLLUM, 20, MARINES
McCollum, from Bondurant, Wyoming, was on his first deployment, had just gotten married, and was three weeks away from being a dad when he was killed in Thursday’s blast, according to the Casper Star Tribune.

“He wanted to be a Marine his whole life and carried around his rifle in his diapers and cowboy boots,” McCollum’s sister Roice McCollum told the outlet.

“He was determined to be in infantry … Rylee wanted to be a history teacher and a wrestling coach when he finished serving his country. He’s a tough, kind, loving kid who made an impact on everyone he met. His joke and wit brought so much joy.”

Rylee McCollum had just graduated from high school in 2019 and was manning an airport checkpoint when the bomb exploded, the outlet said.

“Saying that I am grateful for Rylee’s service to our country does not begin to encapsulate the grief and sadness I feel today as a mother and as an American,” Wyoming Schools Superintendent Jillian Balow told the outlet.

“My heart and prayers are with Rylee’s family, friends, and the entire Jackson community.”

Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon tweeted about the death early Friday.

“I’m devastated to learn Wyoming lost one of our own in yesterday’s terrorist attack in Kabul,” Gordon wrote.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Rylee McCollum of Bondurant. Jennie and I, along with all of Wyoming and the entire country thank Rylee for his service.”

JARED SCHMITZ, 20, MARINES
Schmitz was a lance corporal from St. Charles County, Missouri, according to KMOX.

“His life meant so much more. I’m so incredibly devastated that I won’t be able to see the man that he was very quickly growing into becoming,” Schmitz’s father, Mark Schmitz, told the outlet.

The heartbroken dad said his son, who always dreamed of being a soldier, was on his first deployment and was sent to Afghanistan from Jordan. He was notified of his son’s death at about 2:40 a.m.

State Rep. Nick Schroer penned a Facebook post about the death.

“Today please pray for Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz who paid the ultimate sacrifice yesterday serving our nation,” Schroer wrote on Facebook.

“This young marine was from St. Charles County and is a true American hero. Keep his family in your prayers today. Thank you for your service young man! God Bless you and your family, Marine.”

HUNTER LOPEZ, 22, MARINE
Lopez was a Corporal who hailed from California and planned to follow in his parent’s footsteps and become a sheriff’s deputy once he was done with deployment, CBS Los Angeles reported.

The Riverside Sheriff’s Association released a statement on behalf of Lopez’s parents, Riverside Deputy Sheriff Alicia Lopez and Riverside Sheriff’s Captain Herman Lopez, the outlet reported.

“We are heartbroken to hear this sad news about Hunter, who chose to follow a life of service, selflessness, courage and sacrifice, like his parents. Hunter was a Riverside Sheriff’s Explorer Scout with the Palm Desert Station from September 2014 to August 2017,” the statement said.

The RSA said Lopez was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines “who answered the call to serve, defend and protect our nation.”

“Hunter was the victim of vicious evil and was killed because he wore a United States [Marine] uniform with love and pride. Our entire community feels the anguish, and we mourn the death of Hunter,” the statement continued.

“Like his parents who serve our community, being a Marine to Hunter wasn’t a job; it was a calling. He loved his family, and as we grieve for Hunter and his fellow Marines taken from us too soon, there are simply no words to express how deeply he will be missed — Semper Fi.”

The family asked for all donations to be made to the Riverside County Deputy Sheriff Relief Foundation.

DAEGAN PAGE, 23, MARINES
Marine Cpl. Daegan Page was a native of Omaha, Neb., who loved hockey and hunting and “will always be remembered for his tough outer shell and giant heart,” his family said Friday.

Page, who joined the Marines out of high school, served with the 2nd Regiment of the 1st Marine Regiment, a unit known as “The Professionals” based at Camp Pendleton in Southern California.

“Daegan always looked forward to coming home and hanging out with his family and many buddies in Nebraska,” the family statement said. “To his younger siblings, he was their favorite jungle gym and to his friends, he was a genuinely happy guy that you could always count on.”

Page hoped to go to trade school following the completion of his Marine service and is survived by his parents, step-parents, grandparents, four siblings and his girlfriend Jessica.

RYAN KNAUSS, 23, ARMY
The first US Army soldier identified as a victim of Thursday’s attack, Ryan Knauss was “a motivated young man who loved his country,” his grandfather said Friday.

Knauss, who hailed from Knoxville, Tenn., had just completed Psychology Operations training and was hoping to move to Washington, DC, his stepmother Linnae told WATE.

“He was a super-smart, hilarious young man,” Linnae Knauss told WATE of her stepson, who joined the Army shortly after graduating from high school. She added to WBIR that Ryan enjoyed building things with his hands and helping his wife Alena tend to her garden.

Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) tweeted Friday that Ryan “gave his life outside Hamid Karzai International Airport helping people he didn’t know get to safety. This is what true heroism looks like and Ryan’s sacrifice will never be forgotten. The Knauss family is in my prayers.”

Grandfather Wayne Knauss described Ryan as a devout Christian who attended religious schools through the eighth grade.

“He was a believer,” he said of his grandson, “so we will see him again in God’s heaven.”

DARIN TAYLOR HOOVER JR., 31, MARINES
Staff Sgt. Darin Taylor Hoover Jr., known as Taylor, was a former high school football player from Midvale, Utah who “lit up a room” when he entered, his father told The Washington Post.

“He was the most-loving, giving, understanding person you could ever meet,” the elder Darin Taylor told the paper. He added that since he was informed of his son’s death, he had received messages of condolences from other Marines who had Taylor as their sergeant.

“They look back on him and say that they’ve learned so much from him,” Hoover said. “One heck of a leader.”

Other family members paid tribute to Hoover on social media.

“Taylor spent his entire adult life as a Marine, serving,” one uncle, Jeremy Soto, wrote on Facebook. “Doing the hard things that most of us can’t do. He is a hero. Taylor is one of the 13 fallen in Afghanistan. We are wounded. We are bruised. We are angry. We are crushed … but we remain faithful.”

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox ordered flags at all state facilities and public grounds to be flown at half-staff through sunset Monday to honor Taylor’s memory, as well as the other Kabul attack victims.

“We are devastated to hear of the passing of Staff Sgt. Taylor Hoover, who served valiantly as a Marine and died serving his fellow countrymen as well as America’s allies in Afghanistan,” Cox said in a statement. “We honor his tremendous bravery and commitment to his country, even as we condemn the senseless violence that resulted in his death.”

Rep. Burgess Owens (R-Utah), whose district includes Midvale, tweeted that he was “devastated and heartbroken over the brave soldiers who lost their lives.

“But, I’m also angry,” Owens added. “Angry that this was avoidable and is the direct result of a feckless administration with no backbone.”

Hoover’s father told Fox 13 that his son “did what he loved, was leading his men and was with them to the end. He loved these United States and proved it by his service. We are so heartbroken and feel for the families of his fallen brothers as well. Our condolences go out to them in this trying time.”

Brave young Marine LTC demands senior leaders accept 'accountability' for AFG gets removed from position
[FOX] Marine Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller was relieved for cause after demanding that senior U.S. leaders hold themselves accountable for actions made during the U.S. military's withdrawal from Afghanistan that led to the deaths of 13 service members.

Officials confirmed to Fox News on Thursday that 11 Marines, an Army soldier and a Navy corpsman were killed in explosions near Kabul's airport Thursday. Another 169 Afghans were killed, according to two officials who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

Scheller, a father of three who has been in the USMC Infantry for 17 years, mentioned senior military leaders including Marine Commandant Gen. David H. Berger, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark A. Milley, whom he said are "supposed to advise."

"I'm not saying we need to be in Afghanistan forever, but I am saying, did any of you throw your rank on the table and say, ’Hey, it’s a bad idea to evacuate Bagram Airfield, a strategic airbase, before we evacuate everyone’? Did anyone do that? And when you didn’t think to do that, did anyone raise their hand and say, ’We completely messed this up’?"

#3  Colonel Scheller actually agrees with you, 49 Pan. According to the article

Scheller wrote in a Friday update posted to Facebook that he had been "relieved for cause based on a lack of trust and confidence."

"My chain of command is doing exactly what I would do … if I were in their shoes," he wrote. "I appreciate the opportunities AITB command provided. To all the news agencies asking for interviews… I will not be making any statements other than what’s on my social platforms until I exit the Marine Corps."

He continued: "America has many issues … but it’s my home … it’s where my three sons will become men. America is still the light shining in a fog of chaos. When my Marine Corps career comes to an end, I look forward to a new beginning. My life’s purpose is to make America the most lethal and effective foreign diplomacy instrument. While my days of hand-to-hand violence may be ending … I see a new light on the horizon."

Scheller, a father of three who has been in the USMC Infantry for 17 years,

Could he have served in another capacity before being USMC Infantry?

Yes he could have TW. I suspect he'll be assigned to some obscure position and will be allowed to float his way to sanctuary (18 year lock-in) for retirement at 20 years. Having been selected for battalion command, I'm sure his annual fitness reports (FITREPS) or (Officer Efficiency Reports - OER's in the army) are stellar. Battalion command in the Marine Corps is highly competitive. If for some reason he is brought up on charges and booted from the service, he'll likely still get separation pay (SEP PAY), which could be a nice check. I doubt he'll be booted. My guess is he'll drop his retirement paperwork at the earliest opportunity. He knew the likely outcome, but we've lost a fine officer.

The unspoken downside - this incident is being seared into the brain housing group of every young officer on active duty, Army, Navy, USMC, USAF, the lot.

In the short version, it was that as a GO he had achieved more than expected career goals, and his seniority and visibility gave his actions a certain enhanced visibility. This gave him a single "silver bullet" to use onlyh once, in a career ending act of public disagreement, wherein he could publicly resign/retire because he would NOT support some order or policy that he knew was wrong. It was a way to leave with honor and integrity from a cherished insititution, but also to protect the Army from idiocy by using his one silver round to kill a terrible idea, and by extension, the author of it. Afghanistan
Taliban blocks access to Kabul airport to prevent throng
[KhaamaPress] After the deadly twin explosions at Hamid Maybe I'll join the Taliban Karzai
...A product, and probably the sole product, of the Southern Alliance...
International Airport which inflicted casualties to over two hundred civilians and US men in service, tens of people have again gathered at the doors of the airport.

Taliban
...Arabic for students...
said that no one will be allowed to come closer to the airport so that they prevent the throng of people.

Officials in the cultural commission of the Taliban said that US troops have evacuated an important area in HKIA which has been handed over to them.

The Taliban did not say when will they allow people to enter the airport, but they had previously said that they will no longer allow Afghans to fly out of the country.

The twin explosions of Thursday afternoon killed nearly one hundred civilians including 13 US marines and maimed over two hundred more of which 15 are US personnel.

US president Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S., who gives the geriatric a bad name. He blames Afghans for losing Afghanistan....
said that they will not leave their evacuation mission incomplete and will deploy additional forces if the military generals ask him to.

The pledge comes as UK, La Belle France, Australia, Italia, and Germany wound up their evacuation mission some before while others after the blasts.

As per the latest stats, the US has evacuated over one hundred thousand people from Afghanistan among them Afghans and US citizens.
Turkish officials also have confirmed that several of its soldiers were wounded in these explosions.

A Taliban official told Reuters that many Taliban guards were wounded.

Erdogan Says Turkey Has Held Its First Talks With Taliban
[ToloNews] President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday said Turkey has held its first talks with the Taliban in Kabul, adding that Ankara was still assessing the Islamist group's offer to run the Afghan capital's airport, AFP reported on Friday. Erdogan said the talks were held at a military section of the Kabul airport where the Turkish embassy is temporarily stationed.

"We have held our first talks with the Taliban, which lasted 3.5 hours," Erdogan told reporters. "If necessary, we will have the opportunity to hold such talks again."

Responding to criticism over Turkey's engagement with the Taliban, Erdogan said Ankara had "no luxury" to stand idly given the unstable situation in the region.

"You cannot know what their expectations are or what our expectations are without talking. What's diplomacy, my friend? This is diplomacy," Erdogan said.

Turkey had been planning to help secure and run Kabul's strategic airport, but on Wednesday it started pulling troops out of Afghanistan, which has been interpreted as meaning Ankara is abandoning this possibility.

Erdogan said the Taliban now wanted to oversee security at the airport, while offering Ankara the option of running its logistics.

Italy says its last flight from Kabul in hours
[AlAhram] Italy's foreign minister has confirmed that the last Italian military flight evacuating people from Afghanistan will depart from Kabul later on Friday. Luigi Di Maio said that among those aboard the departing C-130 Air Force aircraft will be the Italian consul, who had stayed on in Kabul at the airport to oversee the evacuation of Italians and foreigners, as well as the top NATO diplomat, Stefano Pontecorvo, who is Italian.

Also aboard will be Italian Carabinieri paramilitary police and Italian soldiers who helped maintain security for evacuations carried out by Italy. ``All the Italians who wanted to return to Italy have returned,'' Di Maio said. Some 4,900 Afghan citizens were also evacuated to Italy, the minister told reporters.

New Zealand unable to get everyone out it wanted
[AlAhram] New Zealand says it was not able to get everybody it wanted out of Afghanistan in time before the deadly attacks near Kabul’s airport brought its rescue mission to an end. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said Friday she is not yet sure how many people were left behind or whether they were New Zealand citizens, residents or visa holders. She said the New Zealand military had gone to great lengths to try and find people in recent days and had been able to fly several hundred people to safety.

Sweden says it has finished its evacuations from Kabul following airport blast
[IsraelTimes] Sweden says it has ended its evacuations out of Kabul, after airlifting more than 1,100 people to Sweden in the wake of the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan. Those evacuated included embassy employees and their families, locally employed guards and their families, members of the armed forces and 500 Swedes, Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde says. In addition, Sweden also evacuated women’s rights activists, journalists and European Union employees.

But Sweden was unable to assist all those on the “Sweden list” consisting of people seeking help to flee the country.

Meanwhile, neighboring Norway, which announced Thursday that it was also ending its evacuations, says today that another 128 people had landed in Oslo, bringing the number of people airlifted by the country to 1,098. A final plane was expected later in Norway Friday.

Spain announces end to its Kabul airlifts after flying out 2,200 people
[IsraelTimes] Spain announces the end of its Kabul evacuations after a nine-day operation that saw more than 2,200 people flown out of the strife-torn country following the Taliban takeover. The last two planes arrived in Dubai early on Friday, ending an airlift that began on August 18.

“In total, we have managed to evacuate 2,206 people,” Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez says, indicating the number was almost three times higher than expected and hailing the work involved in a mission of “extraordinary complexity.”

He says most of the people evacuated were Afghans, including 1,671 — and their families — who worked for Spain. Some 333 worked for the European Union, 50 who worked for NATO as well as 21 Portuguese or Afghans working for Portugal. He says another 131 were evacuated on behalf of the United States.

Sanchez says Spain did not have “an exact number” of Afghan collaborators who were left behind but was working on “a way to continue getting them out.”
300 GERMAN NATIONALS LEFT BEHIND IN AFGHANISTAN
After Germany ended its air bridge between Kabul and Tashkent, the foreign ministry announced that around 300 German nationals remain in the country. Another 10,000 Afghans who were eligible for evacuation were also left behind.

Visas for Afghan nationals were being processed after arrival due to the complicated situation in Kabul, a spokesperson for the interior ministry said. It turned out that four people were flown to Germany who had previously been deported, one of which "went straight back into detention."

STATE DEPARTMENT DENIES REPORT IT GAVE TALIBAN LISTS OF NAMES
State Department spokesman Ned Price partially denied a report published in Politico Thursday that said lists of names of US citizens and Afghans, including fearful special immigrant visa applicants, were given to the Taliban.

Price said it was simply wrong that the US State Department had given lists with personally identifiable information to the Taliban.
Just before the midnight rollover, the Times of Israel added:
The death toll in the suicide bombing rose to 169 Afghans, a number that could increase as authorities examine fragmented remains, and 13 US service members.

The Pentagon said Friday that there was just one suicide bomber — at the airport gate — not two, as US officials initially said. A US official said that the suicide bomber carried a heavier-than-usual load of about 25 pounds of explosives, loaded with shrapnel.

The US official spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss preliminary assessments of the attack. The officials who gave the Afghan death toll also spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.

On the morning after the attack, the Taliban used a pickup truck full of fighters and three captured Humvees to set up a barrier 500 meters (1,600 feet) from the airport, holding the crowds farther back from the US troops at the gates than before.

US military officials said that some gates were closed and other security measures put in place. They said there were tighter restrictions at Taliban checkpoints and fewer people around the gates. The military said it had also asked the Taliban to close certain roads because of the possibility of suicide bombers in vehicles.

The Pentagon said the US would keep up manned and unmanned flights over the airport for surveillance and protection, including the use of AC-130 gunships.

US officials said evacuees with proper credentials still were being allowed through the gates. Inside, about 5,400 evacuees awaited flights.

The White House said Friday afternoon that US military aircraft had flown out 2,100 evacuees in the previous 24 hours. Another 2,100 people left on other coalition flights.

The number was a fraction of the 12,700 people carried out by US military aircraft one day early in the week, when the now two-week-old airlift not only met but exceeded intended capacity for a couple days.

France ended its own evacuation effort and pulled up stakes on a temporary French embassy at the airport, leaving Taliban-ruled Afghanistan. US allies and others have ended or are ending their airlifts, in part to give the US time to wrap up its own operations.

The Taliban have said they will allow Afghans to leave via commercial flights after the U.S. withdrawal, but it is unclear which airlines would return to an airport controlled by the militants.

HHS diverting millions in funding marked for vaccine efforts to housing migrant children
[FoxNews] $187.5 million had been earmarked for 'vaccine planning, distribution, monitoring and tracking'.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has notified Congress that it will transfer an additional $589 million, some of which comes from funding marked for COVID-19 vaccination efforts, to its program to shelter unaccompanied migrant children who have entered the U.S. at the southern border -- part of more than $4 billion that has been diverted to the program this year.
could've built a wall
HHS informed Congress that it is diverting $225 million in National Institute of Health (NIH) funding that was part of the December COVID-19 relief bill to the unaccompanied children (UAC) program, as well as $364 million in HHS funding that was passed as part of the American Rescue Plan (ARP), a congressional source told Fox News. Data shared with Fox News confirms that source's account.

Su-24 bomber crashes in Urals, air crew ejects safely
By Yuri Smityuk
[TASS] A Su-24 bomber crashed near the city of Perm in the Urals and its pilots ejected, the press office of Russia’s Central Military District reported on Friday.

"On August 27, a Su-24 plane crashed 95 km west of the city of Perm while making a flight to the Aircraft Repair Enterprise for scheduled repairs. According to the reports from the scene of the incident, the pilots ejected," the statement says.

A helicopter of the search and rescue service has been dispatched for evacuation from the crash site," the press office said.

The Central Military District told journalists that there was no destruction on the ground after a Su-24 bomber crashed under Perm.

"The flight was without payload. The plane crashed in a forest area. There is no destruction on the ground," the District said.

Also, according to the source in emergency services, crew of crashed Su-24 bomber was found, their lives are not in danger.

"The [rescue] team has found the Su-24 crew, their lives are not in danger," the source said.

Fury after UK admits Brits and 1,100 eligible Afghans will be left behind when Kabul evacuations stop as death toll hits 170
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News]
  • Three Britons and the child of another British national were killed in Thursday's attack, Foreign Office said

  • Dominic Raab mourned the 'innocent people' who were trying 'to bring their loved ones to safety in the UK'

  • 'We will not turn our backs on those who look to us, and we will never be cowed by terrorists,' he added

  • The suicide attack killed at least 170 people, including 13 American service personnel

  • Pentagon officials said on Friday that there was only one suicide bomber involved, not two as first reported

  • Thousands of desperate Afghans are arriving at the airport despite the constant threat of another attack

  • But Defence Secretary Ben Wallace admitted 1,100 eligible Afghans and up to 150 Britons will be left behind

  • Mr Wallace said the last UK flights would leave Kabul within hours

  • Tory MP Tom Tugendhat warned 'we may find ourselves with the biggest hostage crisis the UK has ever seen'

So far, Britain has evacuated more than 13,700 British nationals and Afghans, representing the second biggest airlift by the country's air force after the Berlin Airlift in 1949, the UK defence ministry said.

About 12,500 people were evacuated from Afghanistan on Thursday, raising the total evacuees since the Taliban took over on August 14 to about 105,000, the White House said on Friday.

About 5,000 of those were evacuated on Thursday evening, according to the White House tallies.

Biden paid tribute to the 'selfless heroes' who died helping vulnerable people to safety, but delivered a stern warning to the Islamic state offshoot behind the blasts that killed 11 U.S. Marines, a Navy medic and another service member screening evacuees at the airport gates.

US officials had previously reported that there were two bombs at the Abbey Gate of Hamid Karzai International Airport, where US troops were screening Afghans for evacuation, and the nearby Baron Hotel, where thousands including Afghans, Britons and Americans, were told to gather in recent days before heading to the airport for evacuation. But the Pentagon said Friday only one suicide bomber carried out the deadly attack outside the Abbey Gate, correcting its earlier assessment that there were two bombers and two separate explosions.

Mr Wallace said one bombing happened in a 'standoff area' where British troops had pushed back from the Baron Hotel processing centre.

But despite the risk of another terrorist attack, hundreds desperate Afghans trying to flee Kabul were seen getting off buses outside Kabul airport. Their hopes are fading fast as the US and its allies are packing up their rescue operations ahead of the Tuesday deadline.

The attack, which saw dead bodies piled up outside the airport, has left hospitals in Kabul overwhelmed due to the sheer number of injured people who have come through their doors. The Kabul Surgical Centre, which is run by the international medical charity Emergency, said it had received 60 injured people in less than two hours on Thursday. Staff said at least 16 people were pronounced dead when they arrived.

Eric Swalwell Floats Fang Fang Conspiracy Theories While Not Denying Classified Intelligence Report Existence
[BREITBART] Rep. Eric I farted on national television Swalwell
... U.S. Representative-for-Life from Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,'s 15th congressional district since 2013. Naturally he's a Dem. His district covers most of eastern Alameda County and part of central Contra Costa County. He was rapidly eliminated from the 2020 Dem nomination pool. He looks a lot like Greg Marmelard, and has the distinction of being one of the few politicians to ever fart on national teevee...
(D-CA) is now floating conspiracy theories about how a Breitbart News story on the existence of a classified report detailing the explicit nature of his relationship with Chinese spy Fang Fang came out—but he is not denying the intelligence report exists.

The saga begins as follows: Back in late July, Breitbart News published an explosive exclusive investigation quoting multiple sources including a former senior national security official and a former senior external adviser to intelligence community leadership revealing the existence of a classified report circulated among intelligence community officials that detailed the nature of Swalwell’s relationship with Fang Fang, a Chinese spy. That she and Swalwell were entangled was long public based off previous reports, but this story revealed the intelligence report that collected a bunch of these details.

Swalwell did not respond to requests for comment for that original story, nor did the White House or Office of the Director of National Intelligence. President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. The very model of probity, except maybe for abandoning Afghanistan...
, Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines, or anyone else with original classification authority could order the declassification of the Swalwell report, as Breitbart News reported in that original story.

After the original story published, Fox News host Tucker Carlson did a segment on it—inviting on Breitbart News editor in chief Alex Marlow to discuss it—in which he viciously criticized Swalwell.

#2  I have my doubts about Naftali Bennett.
I don't think he has the gravitas of Benjamin Netanyahu.
When Bebe confronted Barack Obama in the White House about the foolishness of making a deal with Iran BO was very pissed and despised Bebe for calling him out on it.
Although nuclear weapons in the hands of Iran is urgent, it is not as urgent as attempting to prevent the Taliban from taking Americans as hostages.
Bennett's only message to Biden should be,
"Mr President, you need to get your ass in gear and do something about the potential hostage crisis of Americans stuck in Afghanistan before it blows up in your face like the suicide bomb that just killed a 150 people outside the Kabul Airport.
Instead the mainstream media was able to turn Bennett into a useful idiot coming to Joe Biden for military help to stop Iran.
When all our other allies know how much damage Joe has caused by allowing the sudden fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban before combatants and non-combatants could be extracted.
Instead of being a useful idiot Naftali should have just stayed home for now and prayed that Biden does not cause more harm than BO by the nuclear agreement with Iran, letting ISIS take over by withdrawing from Iraq, letting the Muslim Brotherhood take over Egypt, letting the Houthis takeover Yemen, attacking Libya so the Muslim extremists can takeover Libya and promoting the lawlessness of the falsely labeled Arab spring.
Unless Biden can get some military leader to get us out of the trouble we are already in the US will not be able to help Israel with Iran.
So I was really irked by Naftali getting into our news cycle narrative here in the US at this time.

Details of Afghan staff, applicants were left behind at UK Kabul embassy
[IsraelTimes] The UK’s defense chief promised Friday to "get to the bottom of" a security lapse that saw documents identifying Afghan staff members and job applicants left behind at the abandoned British Embassy in Kabul.

Times of London news hound Anthony Loyd said he found the papers scattered on the ground as he toured Kabul’s abandoned diplomatic district with a Taliban

escort this week.

Loyd said the documents included the name and address of a senior embassy staff member, the contact details for other employees, and the resumes and addresses of people applying to be interpreters.

He called the phone numbers he found and learned that some of the staffers had already left Afghanistan but others were still in the country, including three Afghan employees and eight family members stranded outside Kabul’s airport as they tried to leave.

The government said they were eventually found and taken to safety. The Times said the fate of at least two of the job applicants remains unknown.

The documents indicate that Major bit members of the Secret Service eight days in a row in early March — though only one such incident was publicly acknowledged.

At least one White House visitor also was bitten in early March, according to the emails, which were released Thursday by the conservative transparency group Judicial Watch, which slammed the "cover-up" of the incidents.

Insurance providers will no longer waive all costs associated with COVID-19 treatments
[FoxBusiness] The majority of private health insurance companies have stopped waiving patients' fees associated with treatment for COVID-19 as most had done since the early days of the pandemic, a new study has found.

According to an analysis by the Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF), 72% of U.S. insurers who previously waived cost-sharing or entirely covered treatment costs have quit doing so and another 10% will be phasing out such waivers by the end of October.

In a previous study done in the earlier days of the pandemic, KFF found that 88% of fully insured COVID-19 patients would have had all of their hospitalizations costs waived by their insurer. The group noted that insurance companies were enjoying higher profits during periods of lockdown and uncertainty, as many people put check-ups and elective procedures on hold.

But since vaccines became widely available in the U.S. and Americans began going back to the doctor, insurers gradually started pulling back on the waivers.

The cost of treating someone hospitalized with COVID-19 can reach tens of thousands of dollars or more. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan told WXYZ-TV that since the pandemic began, the company has paid out $750 million, and around 250,000 of their members paid nothing out of pocket for the treatments.

"No costs," BCBSM Senior VP and Chief Medical Officer Dr. James Grant told the outlet. "If you were on a ventilator, you could've been there a month, two months, three months, that’s expensive. Sometimes seven-digit care. We waived all the costs."

BCBSM will no longer waive COVID-19 treatment costs starting Oct. 1, but vaccinations will continue to be free for members as that is seen as a major preventive measure for keeping patients alive and keeping costs down. A study released by the CDC found that unvaccinated coronavirus patients were 29 times more likely to be hospitalized than vaccinated individuals who caught breakthrough infections.

[REGNUM] On August 26 (September 8), 1904, it became finally clear - the troops of the Manchurian army left Liaoyang. On this day, General-Advisor was appointed to the post of Minister of Internal Affairs. general - l. book

P. D. Svyatopolk-Mirsky graduated from the Corps of Pages and the Nikolaev Academy of the General Staff. From 1895 he held administrative positions in Penza (1895−1897), Ekaterinoslavsky (1897−1900) as governor, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and commander of the Separate Corps of Gendarmes (1900−1902), Vilensky, Kovensky and the Governor-General of Grodno (1902-1904). There were rumors in society that he did not want a new appointment.

The general had a reputation for being gentle. Witte rejoiced, who believed that now was the time for a new policy. Both the rumors and the reputation were justified.

Active Duty, Retired Naval Intelligence Members Told They Cannot ‘Disrespect' Biden Over Afghanistan Debacle
Just like Turkey.[Daily Wire] Top leadership at the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) informed active duty and retired service members that they cannot condemn President Joe Biden amid the chaotic — and now deadly — pullout of American troops from Afghanistan.
I wonder what prompted this action.
In an email from the ONI’s Chief of Staff, ONI members were reminded that per a Uniform Code of Military Justice and Department of Defense Directive clause they cannot disrespect senior government leadership.
Wait, we have "leadership"? Not from what I'm seeing. We don't even have adult supervision.
This includes the President, Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, and more.
It should be easy to identify the culprits. Just do a systemwide search for "impeach", "traitor", "catastrophe", "disaster", "gutless", "clusterfook", and "goat rodeo" and their names should pop right up.
ONI members cannot participate in partisan political activity or distribute partisan political literature. An internal ONI member told The Daily Wire that these policies were more relaxed under the Trump administration and recalled retired officers condemning the former President.
That tells me all I want to know about the "leadership" of this organization.

This is the cited basis for the assertion that RETIREEs cannot be critical. I'm not a lawyer, but it seems that unless I'm recalled to active duty in some federal status, or make an assertion that implies my retired status somehow is connected to official authority to speak for DoD, I'm immune from this directive. This seems to be an attempt by inference to silence people like me who hold a deeply adversarial attitude towards the current administration. Thoughts my friends?

NoMoreBS,

For decades the law was considered by the Government to mean exactly that- 'retired' status is legally accepted as reduced duty for reduced pay and therefore one can still be brought back for court-martial. It is rare, and used as more of a cudgel than anything else (One of the things that got David Petraeus to finally give in on his charges was that the Army was dropping hints they'd bring him back to court martial him for his indiscretions).

However, last year the United States District Court for the District of Columbia ruled in Larabee v. Braithwaite that:

"...Congress’s grant of court-martial jurisdiction over military retirees in the Fleet Marine Corps Reserve for offenses committed after their retirement is unconstitutional. While the Court did not explicitly determine that court-martial jurisdiction over all military retirees is per se unconstitutional, the practical reach of the Court’s decision is likely to significantly curtail such jurisdiction over retirees for crimes committed after their retirement from active-duty service."

The article I linked to is blessedly straightforward and comprehensible. The bottom line is that the ONI COS doesn't have the faintest goddamned idea what he's talking about, or worse, he does and is hoping nobody else does. And were it to come down to brass tacks, I can't imagine a court in the land tolerating a recall for a GCM when it involves a First Amendment issue.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Police seize large arms cache, dozens of firearm parts in West Bank raid
[IsraelTmes] Police announced Friday morning that officers seized a large cache of firearms and dozens of weapon parts in an overnight raid in the West Bank.

Ten pistols, four rifles, over 130 magazines, weapon sights and other unassembled weapons were uncovered inside a Paleostinian home near Hebron, police said.

No suspects were immediately arrested in connection to the cache, but police said an investigation was underway to locate those involved.

Since the beginning of the year, some 200 firearms, as well as a number of weapon lathes and other arms assembly equipment, have been seized in the West Bank, police said.

In recent years, the Israel Defense Forces and Israel Police have been cracking down on makeshift Paleostinian firearm workshops, as well as conventional weapons that have been smuggled or stolen from the Israeli military.

Improvised weapons, often referred to as the Carlo gun, are relatively cheap to produce and therefore plentiful in the West Bank. But mass-produced, superior guns, like M-4 or M-16 assault rifles, are far more difficult to obtain and are thus far more expensive, often costing tens of thousands of shekels.

NYT: Netanyahu reduced intel-sharing with US on Iran when Biden took office
[IsraelTimes] Former prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu scaled back Israel’s intelligence-sharing with the United States when President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. The very model of probity, except maybe for abandoning Afghanistan...
took office, according to a New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

report.
According to the report, the US is increasingly dependent on Israeli intelligence on Iran’s nuclear program, as Tehran has effectively cracked down on the American spy network in the country.

But Israel, American and Israeli officials say, has withheld information to prevent the US government from curtailing its covert military operations to obstruct Iran’s nuclear program. This was the case with the strike on the Natanz nuclear plant in Iran, attributed to Israel in April, when the White House was given two hours’ notice of the plan, the report says.

The report says Netanyahu’s distrust for Biden was the reason for the policy change. Some Israeli officials quoted in the report say the move was over fears Washington would leak the information, as US administrations did with other operations. American officials deny the charge.
Jahn F'n Karry comes to mind
According to the report, former Mossad intelligence chief Yossi Cohen tried to patch up the relationship two weeks after the Natanz bombing, meeting Biden and CIA officials in Washington to discuss the issue. He was given a warm reception, the report says.

Texas homeowner uses machete against burglary suspect, 22, seriously injuring his face, police say
[FoxNews] A machete-wielding homeowner in Texas seriously injured a suspect who attempted to break into his home early Wednesday, authorities said.

El Paso police said the homeowner awakened around 4:15 a.m. to the sound of glass breaking. He walked outside and found a man holding a metal rod breaking the front windows of his house, police said.

"Armed with a machete, the homeowner told the man to leave, but a confrontation ensued and the homeowner struck the intruder in the face with the machete," according to the department.

The suspect, identified as Carlos Esteban Villaescusa, 22, ran from responding coppers but was arrested after jumping into a neighbor's backyard.

Police said he also trespassed into a second home on the same block and broke the front window of another home.

Villaescusa was hospitalized with serious injuries suffered during the confrontation with the homeowner.

He will be booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility following his release from a hospital.

Villaescusa faces charges of burglary of a habitation, evading arrest or detention, criminal mischief, and criminal trespass, police said.

#1  Last para by DoD tool. Complete fabrication or half truth?

Some things the journos didn't mention, probably because they don't know. Ground realities and nitty gritty about IS-K.

The IS-K, maybe due to their brotherhood leanings, does not enjoy Islamabad's blessings or the jamaats' goodwill. For funding they serve as mercenaries and button men for whoever needs extra manpower, needs to false flag an attack on himself, for political assassination, spreading terror, discrediting a regime, whatever. One can also outsource a proxy suicide attack to them. Make the drop, and everything from explosive to an allah-mad sasquatch are ready to deliver your intended level of mayhem. They do not distinguish between clients over religion, country, loyalty, whatever. Sometimes, you can even have them sell out their own loyalists for the right price. Because IS-K need money. There's no ISI funneling them salaries like the Hizb or the Lashkar.

Posted by: Dron66046 || 08/28/2021 2:15 Comments || Top||

#2  According to a Transnational Threats Project report by CSIS on Salafi-jihadist groups, IS-K's fighting force had fallen from 4000 to 800 from 2016 to 2018. When former Taliban commander, Qari Hekmatullah, pledged allegiance to IS-K in 2016 he had brought over several wahhabis to the group. His networks in north Afghanistan facilitated the Islamic State’s expansion in the province from March 2018 until his death by airstrike. They expanded in Pakistan because everyone from local jamaats to the ISI kept contracting them for political work.
Posted by: Dron66046 || 08/28/2021 2:16 Comments || Top||

#3  Later, to escape the FATF blacklist, Pakistan's 'anti-terrorist' [much like ANSDF's great warfighting] ops against them from 2019 onward only obfuscated their real numbers. But it is speculated they have been recruiting steadily from the wahhabis and forming covert cells in Pak, Afghanistan and India. Their grand ambitions, mentioned in their insipid charter read like a comic book villain speech. The rhetoric and random sasquatchery is just them fooling their own recruits and occasional financiers about world domination, but they're basically mercs and covert muscle.

This attack has been engineered by the ISI, I'm sure of it.

This is just one more ice cream cone that has been unwrapped for the US by the Pakistain ISI. I was thinking they'd get the taliban to do it, but those turbans are smartening up for the UNs and World banks. So... IS-K it is.

The perpetrators could be culled effectively only if the US does not pu$$yfoot around Pakistain. For that matter so could have the taliban, long ago before this fiasco ever reached the tables in Qatar.

Sirhan Sirhan Will Likely Leave Prison in 2021
But Bobby Kennedy will still be dead.
[TheGuardian] The man who killed Robert F Kennedy was granted parole on Friday after two of the former attorney general, senator and presidential hopeful's sons spoke in favor of release and prosecutors declined to argue he should be kept behind bars.

The decision was a major victory for Sirhan Sirhan,
...the Jerusalem-born, Christian Palestinian of Jordanian citizenship who showed his gratitude for growing up in the safety of the U.S. by killing a presidential candidate for supporting Israel...
77, though it did not assure his release.

The ruling by the two-person panel at Sirhan'16th parole hearing will be reviewed over 90 days by the California parole board. Then it will be sent to the governor, who will have 30 days to decide whether to grant it, reverse it or modify it.
Sirhan has learned to show remorse (as he was not able to do as late as 2016) and has the entire leftist establishment on his side.
Bobby Junior decided that the confessed murderer of his father is innocent, so that’s that.

#4  Volcano lairs. Let me tell ya, pain in the ass. All those environmental impact studies, then you got the greenies sending you bills for carbon offsets or some shit like the volcano would just stop emitting CO2 if nobody was there. The constantly shifting foundation means there is no such thing as a right angle; you try loading a nuclear device onto a missile when the approachway looks like a Escher drawing on dollar tequila shot night. Can't get cold water. Can't use the lava tube service entrance because those ghawdammed tiktokers doing yoga selfies all the time. The worst, the worst, is once a month some young gal get thrown in and splatter all over your work station. Totally random; if they just pick a day, 1st of the month, 3rd Friday, whatever, but noooo, you get some 3 seconds of screaming as a heads up then -splat-.

No, a Drax station, that is the future. No space shuttle to ferry up space marines. No hippies on walkabouts getting a sense for Gaia's aura, dinner tastes like the food instead of brimstone, if you miss the sunset just wait a couple hours, sounds fantastic.

China-Japan-Koreas
Beijing's American Hustle
[Foreign Affairs] How Chinese Grand Strategy Exploits U.S. Power

Although many Americans were slow to realize it, Beijing’s enmity for Washington began long before U.S. President Donald Trump’s election in 2016 and even prior to Chinese President Xi Jinping’s rise to power in 2012. Ever since taking power in 1949, the ruling Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has cast the United States as an antagonist. But three decades ago, at the end of the Cold War, Chinese leaders elevated the United States from just one among many antagonists to their country’s primary external adversary—and began quietly revising Chinese grand strategy, embarking on a quest for regional and then global dominance.

The United States and other free societies have belatedly woken up to this contest, and a rare spirit of bipartisanship has emerged on Capitol Hill. But even this new consensus has failed to adequately appreciate one of the most threatening elements of Chinese strategy: the way it exploits vital aspects of American and other free societies and weaponizes them in the service of Chinese ambitions. Important U.S. institutions, especially in finance and technology, cling to self-destructive habits acquired through decades of "engagement," an approach to China that led Washington to prioritize economic cooperation and trade above all else.

If U.S. policymakers and legislators find the will, however, there is a way to pull Wall Street and Silicon Valley back onside, convert the United States’ vulnerabilities into strengths, and mitigate the harmful effects of Beijing’s political warfare.
Longish, but important essay at link.

Afghan man flown to France arrested, suspected to have ties to Taliban
[NYPost] An Afghan who was recently evacuated from Kabul was arrested by French authorities and is suspected of having ties to the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
, according to reports.

French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said the man was initially placed on house arrest because authorities "suspected this person to have or to have had ties with the Afghan Taliban government," according to La Belle Franceinfo.

The Afghan was arrested and placed in jug in Gay Paree after breaking the terms of his home confinement "for a few minutes," Darmanin said.

The man was allowed to leave Afghanistan after he helped French citizens when the embassy was evacuated and "probably saved lives," government front man Gabriel Attal told BFMTV on Tuesday.

But when he was interviewed by authorities at a French military base in Abu Dhabi as part of his evacuation to La Belle France, the man confessed to being a member of the murderous Moslem group and admitted to taking part in a Taliban checkpoint in Kabul.

He was allowed to continue on to La Belle France where he and four others believed to be family members traveling with him were placed under surveillance.

About 1,200 Afghans have arrived in La Belle France since the Taliban took control of the country on Aug. 15, French officials said.

Across the channel, British officials said a man flown to the United Kingdom from Afghanistan was on a "no-fly" list of possible hard boyz but is no longer considered a risk.

"An individual was flagged to the Home Office as part of the rigorous checks process, involving the police, security services and others," an Interior Ministry spokesperson said in a statement. "However,
by candlelight every wench is handsome...
upon further investigation, they are not a person of interest to the security agencies or law enforcement."

MSNBC's Joy Reid praises Biden's handling of Afghanistan
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] MSNBC’s Joy Reid
...Harvard-educated lefty MSDNC (If you're white you ain't right!)
commentator, given to fits of hyperbole, bad arithmetic, and faux sophistication...
praised President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. The very model of probity, except maybe for abandoning Afghanistan...
for his Afghanistan exit this week. "Despite all the wailing and gnashing of teeth on the right, the Biden administration, the guys that caused the debacle in Afghanistan
...the collection of boodlers, grifters, hangers-on, and self-proclaimed experts affiliated with the Biden Crime Family. Entrusted with an entire nation as the result of a suspicious election, they set about happily implementing stuff they absorbed in college, all of which blew up and splattered the rest of us...
has accomplished something that’s actually truly remarkable in Afghanistan."

Reid has been a vocal supporter of the President's military exit out of Afghanistan, despite wide criticism and plummeting polls for Biden. Prior to praising the President, Reid attacked former President Trump and blamed any shortcoming in relation to Afghanistan on him.

"It was Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
who wrote America’s exit strategy," Reid said. "Trump’s ’peace plan’ set fall of Afghanistan in motion" and the "GOP tried to blame Biden for Trump admin policy."

On another segment of her program, Reid attacked Trump again, alleging he would not have attempted to rescue Afghans.

"I think it’s magical thinking that’s the problem, thinking somehow Donald Trump would have evacuated those Afghans," Reid said. "No he wouldn’t have."

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israel, PA discuss potential aid to Ramallah amid fears of economic collapse
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s government has been in talks with the Paleostinian Authority to send hundreds of millions of shekels to Ramallah amid the latter’s growing budget crisis, sources in Jerusalem and Ramallah told The Times of Israel.

A tentative agreement for an Israeli financial package worth NIS 800 million ($247 million) to the PA has been formulated, an Israeli official said on Friday, with another official familiar with the matter describing the deal as "practically done."

There had been plans to announce the package before Bennett’s trip this week to Washington, where the Biden crime family administration
...the gang of subgeniuses trying to pass themselves off as the adults in charge of the series of calamities characteristic of the administration of a mentally challenged geriatric case...
is looking for Israel to act on rhetoric in favor of "deescalating the conflict" with the Paleostinians and to advance measures that strengthen the PA. However,
there's more than one way to stuff a chicken...
the financial package was not finalized in time for that.

Senior PA official Ahmad Majdalani confirmed that talks on financial support were ongoing between the two sides. He said the funds would not be a loan, rather an advance on tax revenues Israel collects on Ramallah’s behalf.

"There’s discussion around an advance on what we are owed, not a loan," Majdalani said.

Both the Israeli and Paleostinian Authority finance ministries could not immediately be reached for comment.

The PA government budget has also taken a serious hit, with a Western diplomat warning The Times of Israel in late July that the PA was "about to collapse due to lack of revenues."

The majority of the budget is derived from tax revenues Israel collects on its behalf, known as clearance revenues.

Under a 2018 Israeli law, Israel regularly confiscates money from the revenues to penalize Ramallah for its policy of paying stipends to Paleostinian security prisoners, those killed during violent mostly peaceful confrontations with Israeli forces, and their families — including those who committed terror attacks against Israelis.

Earlier in August, the Israeli government signed off on the confiscation of 600 million NIS ($186 million) over the course of six months. The figure was said to be approximately the same as what Ramallah pays out in salaries to terror convicts and families of so-called deaders in 2020.

Kurdish man named a hero after rescuing woman in Vienna
[Rudaw] A Kurdish man from northeast Syria (Rojava) has been named a hero in Austria after he stepped in to prevent two men from assaulting a woman in the capital, Vienna. He was attacked in the incident and is now partially blind.

Diljar Adnan Said, 29, is from Rojava’s Derik town. He has been living in Austria for six years and four months. In an interview with Rudaw’s Dilbixwin Dara on Thursday, he described the incident.

Around midnight on May 24, he was walking with a friend along, Donaukanal, a canal in Vienna. "I heard a woman calling for help. She was terrified. She was being raped and I could not accept this," he said.

He went up to the men - he saw only two of them - and told them that the woman was his sister. They handed the woman over to him and he took her to her house. Said told the attackers that he would not call the police.

"We left them but they followed us, taking down my friend so that he could not help me. And when I turned around they hit my eye with a glass," he recounted. He was knocked unconscious and does not know what happened next, but he has been told that the men tried to throw him into water, but "God saved me."

Police took him to hospital where he underwent three surgeries and remained there for 10 days.

The incident was reported by several Austrian media outlets, describing him as a hero.

Said has lost 80 percent of the sight in his left eye after being hit with a vodka bottle. "I am in good condition. I am done with all surgeries... Doctors have told me that it will take a long time for me to regain the sight," he told Rudaw.

When he was in hospital, he was not insured and could not pay the 9,499 euros in hospital fees for his treatment and the government has not helped him. He said his Austrian friends sought his approval to fundraise on the Internet. He initially refused their offer, fearing that his mother in Syria would see his photographs, but when he could not come up with the money, he approved the fundraising campaign on gofundme.com.

The campaign, launched on August 17, has surpassed its goal of 9,000 euros. Said told Rudaw that he will pay the hospital fees with the money and dedicate the rest for treatment for the woman, who has not been named.

No one has been arrested in connection with the attack, according to Said. He said a friend of the woman had recorded a video two hours before the incident, intending to post it on their social media accounts. The men who later attacked her are seen in the footage, which has been handed over to the police.

The Kurdish hero said neither he nor the Viennese woman knew the attackers previously.

Said praised the treatment he received from the hospital staff, saying they respected him for his brave act. His friend, who is from Syria’s capital city of Damascus, was not harmed in the incident "because their target was me," the hero said.

Panicked Democrats switch from 'defund' to 'refund' the police
Landslide ‘em onto the ash heap of History.
[WASHINGTONEXAMINER] The Democratic Party’s quest to defund police forces, an act in which it kowtowed to its hard-left-wing base, has come to a very bitter end. The resulting surge in violent mostly peaceful crime has produced a massive public backlash that threatens the careers of elected Democrats throughout the nation. Naturally, the endangered species is trying to distance itself swiftly from the wreckage that "defund the police" has left behind.

The mayors of Portland and Seattle, who respectively slashed police funding by $15 million and $7.5 million last year, are now moving to restore those budgets amid spikes in violent mostly peaceful crime made worse because coppers are choosing to retire rather than stay where their work is scorned by their employers.

Something similar is happening in reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel...
, where last year, Mayor Lori Lightfoot
...the diminutive and vacuous Heronner da Mare of Chicago. When the corpse count rises she blames the guns, which are banned anyway. A racist to the bone, Lori sez that people with the same skin tone all think alike, not quite getting the implications for a city with a population less than thirty percent black...
demanded that the police force leave vacant positions unfilled as part of a broader drive to cut police budgets. Lightfoot now faces a 60% increase in murders since 2019 , and suddenly, she sees the light — the police are not expendable, and the thin blue line between chaos and order cannot be allowed to get any thinner.

She says she wants "to recruit the next generation of officers." Good luck with that. All over the country, police forces are dwindling because officers are quitting their thankless jobs in cities run by leftists. We're deeply sympathetic to the city communities betrayed by their politicians, but it's hard not to take a certain pleasure in the backlash now engulfing the political charlatans who perpetrated this disaster.

Police reform has been and remains an important issue, but the Left has tried to demonize the brave officers and rejected the very existence of law enforcement itself, attributing racist motives to even basic measures to suppress crime. Compounding the problem is a gaggle of irresponsible leftist prosecutors who have taken office in communities such as Philadelphia and the Socialist paradise of San Francisco
...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964...
. In the name of racial justice, they refuse to prosecute brazen crimes and care not at all for the mostly nonwhite citizens whom these predators victimize.

According to the FBI
...Formerly one of the world's premier criminal investigation organizations, something for a nation to be proud of. Now it's a political arm of the Deep State oligarchy that is willing to trump up charges, suppress evidence, or take out insurance policies come election time...
, the number of black murder victims rose by an astounding 23% from 2014 through 2019 — more than three times as fast as the rise in white victims. Not only does this mean that blacks now comprise 54% of all murder victims, but it also means that nearly twice as many black people are being murdered every single year as were lynched in the entire history of the Jim Crow South , according to a detailed 2015 report on that grim chapter of U.S. history.

In other words, today’s Democratic defund agenda inflicted more death in minority communities than back when the leaders of the same party were hiding behind white masks and burning crosses.

Science & Technology
We’re told to ‘follow the science’ — yet some of it is just plain wrong
Key paragraphs:
[NYPost] Did Ariely
...Professor Dan Ariely, “superstar honesty researcher”...
commit fraud — he says no — or was the data set he got from an insurance company faked for some reason? People are looking into that, but in a way the problem is bigger. Whether or not it was Ariely’s fault, a study that influenced policy turns out to have been baseless. And scientific peer review, often defended as the gold standard for research, didn’t spot the problem.

But lots of stuff gets past peer review. Back in 2018, several hoaxers slipped works dubious on their face past peer review and into publication. One study, which made it into the journal Sex Roles, employed "thematic analysis of table dialogue" to determine why heterosexual men go to Hooters, a question that would seem to answer itself. Another looked at "Human reactions to rape culture and queer performativity at urban dog parks in Portland, Oregon." And a third just scattered some modern buzzwords into translated passages from Mein Kampf and was published under the title "Our Struggle Is My Struggle" in a journal of feminist social work.

Meanwhile,
...back at the railroad tracks, Little Nell tried to kick her bound feet and scream post the snotty handkerchief Scarface Al had stuff into her mouth...
leading names in the field of social psychology turn out to have committed research fraud to an extent that it tainted the entire field. And as The Wall Street Journal reported, "One noted biostatistician has suggested that as many as half of all published findings in biomedicine are false."

Research on "implicit bias" drives all sorts of campus and government policies on race and diversity, but the Implicit Association Test underlying it turns out to be highly dubious. In 2012, the firm Amgen set out to reproduce the results in 53 "landmark" studies in hematology and oncology. Only six of them replicated.

Indeed the term "replication crisis" is now often used to refer to a situation in which so many major and influential studies don’t produce the same results — or any results — when other researchers set out to test them. And it really is a crisis.

At one level, the problem is that billions in research money is wasted.

But really, the problem is worse: Bad research guides behavior — whether it’s government policy or drug-development budgets or energy research — in the wrong direction.

We are hectored incessantly by "Science whacks" that humans are the main cause of "Climate Change (nee "global warming") with garboons of $Fed spent promoting the bovine excrement.

Yet, per FAA AC 00-68, a publication for those of a mature mental persuasion, "The sun is the dominant source of the
conditions commonly described as space weather. The term space weather is used
to designate processes occurring on the sun and in Earth’s magnetosphere, ionosphere,
and thermosphere, which have the potential to affect the near-Earth environment.
Emissions from the sun are both continuous (e.g., solar luminescence and solar wind) and
eruptive (e.g., coronal mass ejections (CME) and flares). These solar eruptions may cause
radio blackouts, magnetic storms, ionospheric storms, and radiation storms at Earth." [Sec. 23.1].

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Russia unveils new AK for Spec Ops units
Follow up from this story three days ago
by Sergey Karpuhin

[RBTH] The weapon has been created especially for stealth operations at night and is already going through battle tests in Spec Ops units.

The Kalashnikov Concern has created a new assault rifle for Russia’s Spec Ops units - the AK-12SP. The novelty was unveiled during the ‘Army 2021’ military expo outside Moscow in late August 2021.
"This one goes to 11"
The weapon represents a later modification of the AK-12 platform that was adopted to the military back in 2018. To this day, there are already more than 100,000 assault rifles of this class in the army, but the Special Operation units needed a number of modifications to be integrated serially into the weapon to effectively conduct their operations.

The biggest focus was on increasing the weapon’s capabilities during stealth operations at night.

The differences between a classic AK-12 and the Spec Op version
Ramil Sitnikov
The AK-12SP has advanced shooting characteristics compared to the mass-produced AK-12.

First of all, the new rifle has received a new sniper style stock. It has a special “cheek” for precision shooting, which also helps to adjust the weapon equipped with oversized optics.

The weapon has also been modified for right- and left- handed users, as its controls are duplicated on both sides, the safety in particular.

The AK-12SP also has new rails on top and a fully redesigned foregrip.

The weapon’s kit also includes all elements required for night skirmishes - a laser, flashlight and an easily detachable silencer.

As the company states, there were a number of internal design modifications made to increase the fire accuracy of the weapon - one of the most widely criticised characteristics of the AK assault rifles.

What the two rifles have in common
Kirill Kalinnikov
AK-12SP has the same pistol grip with instruments inside of it needed for complete disablement of a rifle.

The magazines also have transparent windows that show the number of ammo left. Nevertheless, operatives will also be able to use standard AK-74 magazines on their missions.

The weapon’s length is 0.98 meters. It weighs 3.5 kg without ammo. The AK-12SP will be produced in two calibers - 5,45x39 mm and 7,62x39 mm. The action system remains the same - gas-operated long stroke gas piston with rotating bolt.

Its barrel is still 0.41 meters long. At the tip is a new muzzle break that allows operatives to smash windows and cut wires.

Scientists are growing Delta Covid variant in a lab to purposely infect humans (who will be paid up to £4,500 for taking part)
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News]
  • Scientists are infecting volunteers as part of the human challenge trials

  • Original trials by Imperial and Oxford University began in London in March

  • Now experts are growing the Delta variant for new trials at the end of the year
The study will initially aim to help doctors understand how the immune system reacts to different levels of coronavirus and how a person who is infected with Covid virus transmits infectious particles into the environment.

But it's hoped that vaccine candidates shown to be safe in early studies will then be trialled on the participants to accelerate their approval.

Steyn: Performance Art with No Performers
[SteynOnline] On the day that twelve US Marines and some 150 civilians were blown apart by suicide bombers, it was heartening to learn what real heroism is.

Until January 6th, the highlight of Michael Byrd's "law-enforcement" career was leaving his loaded Glock in a congressional men's room and paying no price. He "serves" with the grotesquely misnamed "Capitol Police", which is not a police department but a praetorian guard - a personal security team for the praetors of Congress. Lieutenant Byrd shot and killed Ashli Babbitt, a 5'2" unarmed woman, because "she was posing a threat to the US House of Representatives".

All that has been known for months by anyone who wanted to know. The only real news in NBC's Byrd exclusive was the level of his self-congratulation:

I believe I showed the utmost courage on January 6.

His interviewer, Lester Holt, did not respond: "Er, hang on, isn't that the kind of thing you're meant to leave for someone else to say about you?"

And did he have to say "utmost"? Even in as unutterably vulgar an age as ours, is even Michael Byrd incapable of imagining any "courage" greater than his own?

Ah, well, don't over-think it; it's just one of those phrases, half-remembered by Byrd from some Rose Garden medal ceremony he caught on TV: "utmost" goes with "courage" like "white" goes with "supremacist" and "domestic" goes with "terrorist".

America is a land that tends to the utmost in all things. At the end of the nineteenth century, Bernard Shaw popularized the term "chocolate soldier" - the dashing hussar who is useless in battle but looks good in a uniform. We have the tutti-frutti generals: Thoroughly Modern Milley and his chums, whose diversity ribbons from shoulder to scrotum advertise their own utmostness even as they explain why everything going wrong merely demonstrates how everything is going right.

The tutti-frutti generals report to the ice-cream commander-in-chief melting all over the lectern every afternoon. His predecessor was on telly all day every day; Mr Biden was sold to head-in-the-sand Americans as the quiet-life guy who wouldn't be in your face. Unfortunately, when your countrymen get blown up by government blunders, the citizenry expects him to be in their faces at least every now and then. Across the Atlantic, Boris and the EU chaps were on the screen responding to an all too predictable atrocity. But in the White House Joe Biden's meds hadn't yet kicked in - or, conversely, they'd shot him the juice too early and it had worn off. So, as has become familiar, the melting waffle cone was hours late in tottering across the room, squinting into the camera and reading with woozy and wooden defiance. This time he gave it the full Corn Pop:

I still want to know who he works for. Yeah, the Capitol Police, but dollars to donuts, he was detailed to look after someone special who would find this all quite embarrassing.

Afghanistan
US says drone strike kills alleged planner of Kabul airport bombing
No doubt they killed someone. And given the thousands of ISIS-K hard boys recently released from Afghan prisons by the Talibs as they rampaged across the landscape, the odds are good the unnamed man deserved killing, even if not necessarily for the thing he is currently accused of.
[IsraelTimes] A US dronezap early Saturday killed a bad boy in the group blamed for the deadly suicide kaboom at the Kabul airport, US officials said, while American forces working under heightened security and threats of another attack pressed ahead in the closing days of the US-led evacuation from Afghanistan.

The attack in eastern Afghanistan killed a member of the country’s Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
affiliate, US Central Command said.

The command spokesman, Navy Capt. William Urban, said officials knew of no civilian casualties. US officials gave no immediate information on the person killed, including any possible link to the suicide bombing.
NBC News adds:
"U.S. military forces conducted an over-the-horizon counterterrorism operation today against an ISIS-K planner," said Capt. Bill Urban, front man for U.S. Central Command, in a statement. "The unmanned Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
occurred in the Nangarhar

Province of Afghanistan. Initial indications are that we killed the target. We know of no civilian casualties."

Two U.S. defense officials familiar with the strike told NBC News that the target of tonight's dronezap was an ISIS-K fighter thought to be involved in planning for future attacks. The strike was in Nangarhar Province in eastern Afghanistan, where ISIS-K had a large presence several years ago before being largely ousted by the Afghan military and the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
The unnamed ISIS-K planner was riding in a vehicle with one associate at the time of the strike, driving in an isolated area. The defense officials said the strike was carried out by an MQ-9 Reaper drone and munitions that were selected for precision and in order to minimize any civilian casualties.
Update from Khaama Press at 6:00 a.m. EDT:
Local people in Jalalabad city said that the strike was carried out in Police District 7 of the city Saturday midnight.

As per the latest information, the US evacuation mission was not interrupted and the total number of evacuees now amounts to 111 thousand people.
