Nielsen says final episode of ‘Afghanistan' drew biggest ratings in 12 seasons
Moved to Opinion. Satire like Duffel, Bee, Onion, goes to Opinion
[Duffelblog] HOLLYWOOD — Fans of “Afghanistan,” the longest-running military drama in U.S. history, tuned in for the show's finale in numbers not seen in more than a decade, according to ratings company Nielsen.

“We are very grateful to our loyal fans who stayed with us all the way through,” producers said in a statement. “And we also appreciate the fair-weather fans who returned to complain about the long-awaited end.”

Nielsen says the ratings were the highest since 2009’s two-part episode in which a U.S. soldier walked off his forward operating base and the entire U.S. Army mobilized to try and find him.

The show originally began as a primetime miniseries, “Northern Alliance,” which debuted in the fall of 2001. The series was an unqualified hit, and producers turned it into a full production that December, after Northern Alliance’s climax, “Loya Jirga,” shattered records for military-themed programming.

“We just completely blew away ‘Gulf War’ numbers,” sources told the TV trades at the time.

“Afghanistan’s” strong start faltered some when a spinoff, “Shock and Awe,” began to air. The convoluted writing—at one point, the show tried to convince viewers that the real villains of “Northern Alliance” were in Iraq—quickly soured large parts of the audiences of both shows. No matter how hard then-executive-producer Paul Wolfowitz tried, audiences never bought the connection between the two storylines.

Over time, each series tried all the usual tricks—crossover appearances, surges of guest stars, sex scandals involving major characters—but audiences remained decidedly ambivalent.

Even the shows’ loyal “Teefies”—derived from “Thank you for your service,” which fans abbreviated into TYFYS with their distinctive sun-faded yellow magnetic ribbons on the backs of pickup trucks—gradually lost interest. What once was a frequent occurrence accompanied by a purchased beer, coffee, or in-flight upgrade eventually became a dolorous, half-hearted greeting without even eye contact.

New Details Emerge About Coronavirus Research At Chinese Lab
[TheIntercept] More than 900 pages of materials related to US.-funded coronavirus research in China were released following a FOIA lawsuit by The Intercept.

NEWLY RELEASED documents provide details of U.S.-funded research on several types of coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China. The Intercept has obtained more than nine hundred pages of documents detailing the work of the EcoHealth Alliance, a U.S.-based health organization that used federal money to fund bat coronavirus research at the Chinese laboratory. The trove of documents includes two previously unpublished grant proposals that were funded by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, as well as project updates relating to the EcoHealth Alliance’s research, which has been scrutinized amid increased interest in the origins of the pandemic.

The documents were released in connection with ongoing Freedom of Information Act litigation by The Intercept against the National Institutes of Health. The Intercept is making the full documents available to the public.

"This is a roadmap to the high-risk research that could have led to the current pandemic," said Gary Ruskin, executive director of U.S. Right To Know, a group that has been investigating the origins of Covid-19.

One of the grants, titled "Understanding the Risk of Bat Coronavirus Emergence," outlines an ambitious effort led by EcoHealth Alliance president Peter Daszak to screen thousands of bat samples for novel coronaviruses. The research also involved screening people who work with live animals. The documents contain several critical details about the research in Wuhan, including the fact that key experimental work with humanized mice was conducted at a biosafety level 3 lab at Wuhan University Center for Animal Experiment — and not at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, as was previously assumed. The documents raise additional questions about the theory that the pandemic may have begun in a lab accident, an idea that Daszak has aggressively dismissed.

The bat coronavirus grant provided the EcoHealth Alliance with a total of $3.1 million, including $599,000 that the Wuhan Institute of Virology used in part to identify and alter bat coronaviruses likely to infect humans. Even before the pandemic, many scientists were concerned about the potential dangers associated with such experiments. The grant proposal acknowledges some of those dangers: "Fieldwork involves the highest risk of exposure to SARS or other CoVs, while working in caves with high bat density overhead and the potential for fecal dust to be inhaled."

Alina Chan, a molecular biologist at the Broad Institute, said the documents show that the EcoHealth Alliance has reason to take the lab leak theory seriously. "In this proposal, they actually point out that they know how risky this work is. They keep talking about people potentially getting bitten — and they kept records of everyone who got bitten," Chan said. "Does EcoHealth have those records? And if not, how can they possibly rule out a research-related accident?"

According to Richard Ebright, a molecular biologist at Rutgers University, the documents contain critical information about the research done in Wuhan, including about the creation of novel viruses. "The viruses they constructed were tested for their ability to infect mice that were engineered to display human type receptors on their cell," Ebright wrote to The Intercept after reviewing the documents. Ebright also said that the documents make it clear that two different types of novel coronaviruses were able to infect humanized mice. "While they were working on SARS-related coronavirus, they were carrying out a parallel project at the same time on MERS-related coronavirus," Ebright said, referring to the virus that causes Middle East Respiratory Syndrome.

Why in the World Is the Government Disrupting the Distribution of Monoclonal Antibodies Now?
[PJMedia] After demonizing nearly every medication with the potential to reduce the severity of COVID-19 symptoms, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) finally recommended monoclonal antibodies earlier this summer. Before the official recommendation, some providers used them under an emergency use authorization (EUA) granted by the FDA in November 2020. The FDA just granted an EUA to allow their use for SARS-CoV-2 post-exposure and ongoing prophylaxis. This approval will increase demand.

Recently, the treatment has gotten quite a bit of media coverage. While the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has been promoting the treatment on the Combat Covid website since early summer, one man ensured a nationwide media campaign. Once Florida Governor Ron DeSantis decided to promote outpatient treatment using the antibodies and establish infusion centers, the media reacted because he is a very dangerous Republican.
Related: Only Ron DeSantis Would Get Criticized for Doing Exactly What Biden’s HHS Wants
During the week leading into the Labor Day holiday, DeSantis was on the road again, touting the success of Florida’s program in disconnecting COVID-19 infection from hospitalization in the state. Patients gave personal testimony about their experience with the treatment. Hospitalizations in the state declined 20% during the first few weeks the infusion centers were up and running. Then something interesting happened.

On Friday, someone who claimed to be an urgent care specialist tweeted that HHS had informed him that the government would now decide which facilities would receive doses of monoclonal antibodies. Jim Jackson wrote: "So now the government is getting involved in [read: restricting] monoclonal antibody distribution. Before, I could just order as much as we needed, and they shipped it next day air. Now a govt. commission will decide when, if, and how much I will be able to get for my pts [patients]. ’Should you have any questions regarding this update in ordering and distribution procedures, please email the Federal COVID-19 Response Team.’ Wonderful."

He added the alert from HHS that confirmed his assertion. Now, only facilities participating in the HHS Protect program can order the treatment, and the agency will review all orders. Suppose the current distribution map provided by HHS includes the HHS Protect facilities. In that case, the new order review process seems like a heavy administrative burden for the program. It may delay or limit treatment for at-risk patients.

Monoclonal antibodies are approved and recommended for outpatient use. HHS instructs patients who qualify to access them within ten days of symptom onset. Regeneron also has FDA approval to be used post-exposure and for prevention. All approved uses are time-dependent and not conducive to a burdensome order review process. The timing of the change in how health providers access them is curious.

If the supply is genuinely so constrained that the federal government needs to get involved in decisions about distribution, the question should be why. The use of monoclonal antibodies is restricted and only provided for specific at-risk groups. By managing and approving distribution, HHS insulates the manufacturers from actual market demand. Now, some at-risk vaccinated as well as unvaccinated patients require effective treatment, and it is constrained. If new variants emerge and become dominant, that trend may continue.

To date, therapeutics and repurposed medications to reduce disease severity have been underemphasized and even demonized. Monoclonal antibodies made it through all the noise and President Trump’s endorsement. It is time for the federal response to encourage increased production of monoclonal antibodies, challenge manufacturers to develop formulations against variants of concern, and get them in the hands of practitioners.

#2  ^1. Exactly. They have made it very clear they do not want a treatment.
Posted by: Angstrom || 09/07/2021 10:55 Comments || Top||

#3  (a) A course of treatment with monoclonals costs a lot more than active immunization.
(b) Since it doesn't induce even temp immunity - that's why it's called passive immunization - it will have to be repeated with every exposure.
(c) There is evidence that existing monoclonals are NOT effective against delta variant.
(d) With De Santis' cheap publicity trick - since he's perfectly aware of (a), (b), (c) - the demand for monoclonals exceeds the supply. Therefore the new regulations.

Or Mu.

#5  Two thoughts.

Monoclonals would be specific to a variant. So wouldn't you need ones tailored to the virus you have? Note this appears to apply to the vaccine too, and more boosters of an ineffective vaccine presumably won't do much good.

The monoclonals themselves would not confer natural immunity, but having the infection will. Anyone want to share a paper stating that use of monoclonals prevents or impairs a natural immune response? Which, in the case of Delta anyway, is something like 7x more effective than the vax.
Posted by: Angstrom || 09/07/2021 13:10 Comments || Top||

#6  G(r)om, that's the point.
It can't possibly compete even with the (dubious) vaccines, but they had to go code red and see to it that it's stopped.
Why? Because you're not allowed to compete with the narrative.
Somebody might start saying things like 'divert some of the money to look at this'. Can't be having that idea be discussed.
Posted by: ed in texas || 09/07/2021 17:31 Comments || Top||

#7  ^Let me reiterate. Due to increased demand there is a supply shortage. Thus, IMO, the regulation.
p.s. Don't expect them to increase production to accommodate De Santis' political stunt (= very transient rise in demand). In fact, don't expect anyone - except Republican pols - to move a finger to accommodate the anti-vaxxers.
Posted by: g(r)omgoru || 09/07/2021 17:44 Comments || Top||

#8  By making it exclusive, they can give away more of the vax that doesn't [no longer] work.
Posted by: Skidmark || 09/07/2021 18:32 Comments || Top||

#9  (b) Since it doesn't induce even temp immunity - that's why it's called passive immunization - it will have to be repeated with every exposure.

Only if you're using it on people with no symptoms whatsoever, which as far as I can tell isn't the case; they're being used to treat people that are symptomatic but not necessarily on their last legs.

(c) There is evidence that existing monoclonals are NOT effective against delta variant.

Linking to a google search? Hmm. the fourth item to come up was Monoclonal antibody treatments work against delta variant when taken in first week of symptoms: doctors.

Three-star idiot! ‘Clueless' - US army general calls British Paratroopers ‘American heroes'

... deputy commanding general of and chief of staff of the US Army Training and Doctrine Command, so she ought to know ...
tweeted a widely-shared snap of exhausted-looking Parachute Regiment soldiers flying back to the UK after helping the humanitarian effort in the country. During the airlift - the largest the UK has carried out in decades - more than 15,000 people were rescued from the war-torn country before the Taliban took control.

[YahooFinance] Billionaire investor George Soros said BlackRock Inc investing billions of dollars into China now is a "mistake" and will likely lose money for the asset manager's clients, according to an opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal.

"Pouring billions of dollars into China now is a tragic mistake," Soros wrote in the op-ed. "It is likely to lose money for BlackRock's clients and, more important, will damage the national security interests of the U.S. and other democracies."

Last month, BlackRock became the first foreign asset manager to operate a wholly owned mutual fund business in China, tapping the fast-growing $3.6 trillion retail fund market. This also comes after the government scrapped a foreign ownership cap in the industry on April 1, 2020.

Soros said BlackRock has drawn a distinction between the country's state-owned enterprises and privately owned companies that is far from reality, according to the opinion piece https://www.wsj.com/articles/blackrock-larry-fink-china-hkex-sse-authoritarianism-xi-jinping-term-limits-human-rights-ant-didi-global-national-security-11630938728.

Investors in China have been rattled by a flurry of regulatory crackdowns this year targeting sectors ranging from technology to private tutoring, which have wiped out close to $1 trillion in market value since February.

Government Corruption
State Department is blasted for 'flat out lie' that it helped evacuate US mom and her three kids from Afghanistan in daring overland mission: Private rescue organizer says his firm did all the hard work
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News]
  • American mom Mariam and her three young children were among those left behind in Afghanistan after Biden ordered US military out of the country

  • Army combat veteran Cory Mills coordinated a mission to get the family out of Afghanistan

  • Mariam and her kids had to travel on a route overland to the border of a neighboring country, which they reached safely on Monday

  • The State Department now appears to be taking credit for the operation, claiming they helped 'facilitate' it

  • But Mills says the Department 'did nothing' and repeatedly ignored Mariam's pleas for help before he stepped in

  • Meanwhile, more than 1,000 other Americans and Afghan allies were waiting to leave Afghanistan on Sunday as negotiations with the Taliban broke down

Joe Biden Is Not Going to Like College Football's Latest Chant
[Townhall] College football is back. COVID panic porn peddlers are upset but are powerless. Sports are back. The fans are back. You can have a meltdown in your bunker. We’re getting on with life. The season is back after our chaotic and humiliating withdrawal from Afghanistan where Joe Biden left Americans behind. The economy is in the toilet, with the August jobs report being utter garbage and way, way below expectations. Inflation is also rising. We’re also dealing with a natural disaster in Hurricane Ida—and Joe Biden is at the helm for all of it.

Seriously, 81 million people voted for this guy? Nope. You’ll never convince me of that, especially after the chants of "f**k Joe Biden" were heard all over the country.
Emphasis added.

WSJ: Men appear to be giving up on college
h/t HotAir
There’s an interesting story in the Wall Street Journal today about the declining enrollment of men in 2 and 4-year colleges. This gender enrollment disparity is a trend that has been happening for a while now, but at this point the divergence between men and women is becoming pretty dramatic.

...The situation has become bad enough that some colleges are already offering more slots for boys in an attempt to bring the enrollment back into parity. The WSJ says this is "higher education’s dirty little secret," i.e. schools are now practicing a kind of affirmative action for men.
You want more men? You want to save your economy? Stop "believing all women".

Iraq
Why we should be worried about Nineveh this year: US in Iraq - opinion
[JPost] - Against the backdrop of the 9.0-magnitude man-made earthquake that was the disastrous US pullout from Afghanistan, two Christian leaders, Pastor Johnnie Moore and Juliana Taimoorazy, convened a news conference last week under the auspices of the Simon Wiesenthal Center. With the participation of Jameel Chomer, country director of the Yazda organization, via Zoom from Iraq, we released an open letter to the president of the United States urging him not to repeat the Afghanistan humanitarian debacle in Iraq.

Signed by Chomer and Taimoorazy, founder and president of the Iraqi Christian Relief Council, it read in part:

"Mr. President, we urge you to resist pressure to withdraw all troops from Iraq. Recent blood-soaked history has shown that without such a presence, the history of Assyrians and Yazidis on their ancient lands would end."

...In 2003, about the time of the invasion of Iraq, there were 1.5 million Assyrian Christians, who are among the world’s oldest Christian communities, in the world. Today, there remain 150,000 Assyrian Christians in their homeland. The numbers of Yazidis shrank from 600,000 to 400,000.
Thank you president Bush.
...on July 27, Joe Biden, now president, announced the remaining symbolic US forces will be leaving Iraq again "for good."

...If President Biden doesn’t cancel that move, two historic peoples — the Assyrian Christians and Yazidis — will be no more. And the keys to Nineveh plains will surely be scooped up by Iran with a long coveted strategic prize — an unfettered route to the Mediterranean Sea and a new powerful front to threaten the very existence of another people, the nation of Israel.
I suppose the people in Israel whose job it is been running scenarios of what happens when (no ifs about it) USA leaves since the day the invasion been announced.

Ahead of Rosh Hashanah, Israel's COVID infection rate hits 2-week low
[YNet] - The Health Ministry said 5,810 people tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday. After more than 115,000 tests had been conducted, the infection rate now stands at 5.31% - the lowest it has been since August 19.
It's a huge advantage when dealing with a pandemic does not become mixed with ideological conflicts like it did in certain countries.
...The Coronavirus National Information and Knowledge Center, however, said that 689 patients are currently being treated in hospitals due to complications from the virus.

The center, which is part of the IDF's intelligence unit, also said that 49.9% of newly diagnosed are under the age of 19, some 30.2% are between the ages of 20 and 39, 15.1% are aged 40-59 and only 4.5% are aged 60 and over.

has "neutralized" nearly 18,500 people that it calls "terrorists" over the past six years, the Defense Ministry said Sunday. The ministry uses the term to describe killed, maimed or captured combatants.

Since the start of this year, that figure was 1,865, spokesperson Maj. Pinar Kara told journalists in Ankara.

The vast majority of the 18,455 neutralized since July 2015 are thought to be members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK, which has waged war on Turkey since 1984. A 2½-year ceasefire with the PKK — listed as a terrorist organization by the U.S. and the European Union

group after launching its first operation in northern Syria in 2016 but has since largely focused on the PKK and its affiliates in Turkey, Syria and Iraq.

Although the total figure of 40,000 deaths is often cited for the 37-year conflict with the PKK, the International Crisis Group says "the precise figure for the overall casualty toll of the conflict is impossible to confirm."

Turkey’s military conducted 22 operations against suspected forces of Evil inside Turkey and abroad over the past month, Kara said. Since April, it has been carrying out ground and air operations against the PKK in northern Iraq. These resulted in 244 gunnies being "neutralized," she added.

Turning to the withdrawal from Afghanistan, Kara said the Ottoman Turkish Armed Forces evacuated 1,129 Ottoman Turkish civilians between Aug. 25 and Aug. 27 and assisted citizens of other countries.

She also said that 23,931 military personnel had been dismissed since a coup attempt in July 2016 that saw elements of the military try to overthrow President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First

Palestinian caught with knife near Hebron’s Tomb of the Patriarchs
[IsraelTimes] Police say 18-year-old suspect threw blade to the ground as he was searched by officers in the flashpoint West Bank city

Border Police on Monday arrested a Paleostinian in Hebron who allegedly tried to enter the Tomb of the Patriarchs with a knife.

The suspect, a 18-year-old resident of the West Bank city, was stopped by officers as he approached the area around the holy site.

As officers searched the suspect, they spotted him throwing a knife to the ground, according to a police statement.

The suspect was taken for questioning after his arrest.

Hebron, where Paleostinians live in close proximity to settlers who are guarded by Israeli troops, has been the scene of numerous stabbings and attempted stabbings.

The Tomb of the Patriarchs, revered as the final resting place of most of the Biblical patriarchs and matriarchs, is one of the holiest sites in Judaism and is also revered by Moslems as the Ibrahimi Mosque.

late Monday night after incendiary balloons from the Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,-run enclave sparked three fires near Israeli towns bordering the Strip.

The military said it hit a Hamas rocket production facility and training camp in Khan Younis. Footage uploaded to social media showed the strikes lighting up the skies. There were no immediate reports of casualties.

Earlier Monday, incendiary balloons launched from the Strip sparked three fires in Israel’s Sha’ar Hanegev Regional Council. Firefighters managed to put out the fires before they could cause significant damage.

Gazooks have continued to launch incendiary devices attached to kites or balloons into Israel despite warnings from Jerusalem of zero tolerance for such attacks.

Tensions with Gaza have remained high amid intensified efforts to shore up a ceasefire brokered after May’s war between Israel and Gaza-based terrorists, including a new arrangement for bringing Qatar

i cash into the Strip to ease poverty there.

The IDF’s Southern Command was preparing on Monday for the possibility that ceasefire talks managed by Cairo could break down, leading to an upsurge in violence and renewed rioting on the border.

Over the weekend, Hamas front man Abdel Latif al-Qanou warned in a statement that, "Our Paleostinian people in the Gaza Strip are determined to extract all their demands and break the siege on the Gaza Strip and no longer accept the gradual easing [of restrictions]."

He added that "our people’s options are open and all tools and means are available to pressure the occupation and oblige it to lift the siege on our people."

Qatar and Egypt have been closely involved in efforts to improve conditions in Gaza in the wake of May’s 11-day war between Israel and Hamas, including the transfer of aid to the needy, greater allowances for goods and building materials to enter the Strip and more.

A plan was recently announced to allow Qatari aid back into Gaza, but many other issues remain unresolved.

The past week saw an increase in protests along the border as so-called "night confusion units" held nightly demonstrations, setting tires alight at the border and lobbing improvised explosives at Israeli troops.

The "night confusion units" do not officially tie themselves to Hamas, though their activities could not take place without the approval of the terror group that rules the Strip.

The riots came at the same time as Israel allowed dozens of truckloads of construction materials into the Strip.

The bombardment affected the agricultural lands connecting among the targeted towns which led to fires and cutting down some trees, according to the same sources.

"The government forces stationed in the city of Kafranbel, intensified their artillery and missiles bombardment on the villages of Kansafra, Ain Larouz, al-Fatira and Benin in the Zawiya Mountain," the sources stated.

Yesterday, on Sunday, the Russian warplanes conducted several airstrikes on the village of Tadin in Jisr al-Shughur area in the western countryside of Idlib.

The de-escalation zone in northwest Syria is subject to a Russian-Ottoman Turkish ceasefire agreement signed in March 2020; however, the area witnesses frequent mutual bombardment despite the entry of the ceasefire into force.

Libya's Presidential Council Releases Several Political Prisoners
[LIBYAREVIEW] On Monday, the Libyan Presidential Council (PC) announced the release of a number of political prisoners who have already ended their jail terms, or who had not been judicially convicted. In a statement, the Presidential Council confirmed the release of late leader Muammar Qadaffy
...a proud Arab institution for 42 years, now among the dear departed, though not the dearest...
’s right-hand man, and personal Secretary Ahmed Ramadan from prison. It noted that it will continue working to achieve national reconciliation.

The PC also reiterated the importance of expediting the release of all forcibly imprisoned persons, and referring all pending cases to the judiciary, as soon as possible.

"The Council is directly following up with the relevant authorities on the release of all non-convicted detainees, ensuring the principles of justice and human rights
...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions...
are achieved in building the new Libya," its statement read.

Notably, Libyan authorities announced the release of Saadi Qadaffy from prison, a source from within the justice ministry confirmed on Sunday. He is the third son of former Libyan leader Muammar Qadaffy, who was killed during a 2011 NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A cautionary tale of cost-benefit analysis....
-led uprising.

According to the source, Qadaffy’s son promptly boarded a flight to Istanbul upon his release. The source reportedly claimed that Saadi’s release was the outcome of negotiations with top tribal figures, and Prime Minister Abdel-Hamid Dbaiba.

Deutsche Welle adds:
A former professional footballer in Italia, al-Saadi had been held in a Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
prison for more than seven years over crimes committed against protesters and for the 2005 killing of Libyan football coach Bashir al-Rayani.

Known as a playboy during his father's 42 years in power, al-Saadi was acquitted on appeal over the murder of Rayani in 2018, and press reports on Sunday said he had already flown to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
Al-Saadi Qadaffy was one of eight children of former Libyan ruler Muammar Qadaffy.

In 2011, an uprising in the country saw Qadaffy arrested and killed along with three of his sons. Members of his family fled the country to other parts of the Arab world including Algeria and Leb
...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
Al-Saadi Qadaffy sought refuge in Niger until March 2014 when the country extradited him to stand trial for the 2005 killing of soccer coach Bashir al-Rayani.

The court of appeal cleared him of wrongdoing in April 2018 although he has been kept in a Tripoli prison since then accused of crimes against protesters.

What is Fascism in simple terms?
Its basically a political agenda movement, that promotes nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, absolute economic and social control, and forcible suppression of opposition.

(None of this sounds like TRUMP or the PRO-USA Constitutional controlled USA we had under his Admin.)

So which Political Party Agenda best matches the definition of Fascism provided above?
Hint: Its NOT the PRO-USA Trump supporters.

But, it sure does sound like the agenda of the now combined Democrat / Socialist Parties, or what I call Socialcrats.

EXAMPLES
BLM.
Anti-White
DC Rule down.
Presidential Executive orders.
Rewording / Redefining the US Constitution.
Appoint judges that rule based on Agenda and not Law.
Social controls out the wazoo.
DC control of the Health, oil, and etc. industries.
ANTI-FA using politically driven NAZI Brown Shirt tactics to suppress opposition.
Social Media & MSM working directly with DC rulers to promote the regimes agenda.

Afghanistan
Taliban announced end of Afghan civil war
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Aleksandr Kots

[KP] "It seems you better stay with me for a while," the salesman of the "wrestled property store" said carefully in good Russian, looking at the TV.

His shop is full of "native" American equipment, from uniforms and boots to backpacks and body kits to weapons. As a rule, the assortment is drawn from defeated NATO caravans. Fresh supplies, from abandoned warehouses of military bases.

"What is there?" I tensed.

Again Panjshir was taken. Now they will start celebrating.

"So they banned."

The seller shrugged his shoulders, "Who was here when the bans stopped?"

Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid made a special statement on Monday morning. He called the opponents mercenaries and assured that the rebellious province was now completely under the control of the new authorities . The resistance, of course, immediately denied this fact.

However, a photo of the Taliban appeared on the network in front of the residence of Governor Pandsher, and then a video at the mausoleum of the "Panjshir Lion," the grave of the legendary field commander Ahmad Shah Massoud.

The place is sacred to the forces of resistance. And with its capture, we can talk about the political defeat of the "Northern Alliance 2.0". Panjshir, who did not submit to either the Soviet troops or the Taliban in the 90s, nevertheless lost his autonomy, which he had de facto enjoyed for decades.

Of course, it is unrealistic to completely clear the gorge; it is too large and ramified, with a mass of strategic heights, which the Taliban will not have enough strength to hold. Therefore, the new authorities will probably have to face guerrilla warfare. But already, according to their "new Taliban ethics," they announced that they would not persecute those who lay down their arms.

"We assure the noble people of Panjshir that they will not face any manifestations of discrimination; they are all our brothers, and together we will serve one country and one goal," Zabiullah Mujahid broadcast from TV. "The civil war is over. And our people will have a place for freedom, independence, prosperity, calm and happy life. "

"Where are you going to get new goods now?" I asked the seller, sorting through the "trophy" chevrons.

Here is the badge of the K-9 Service Dog Unit, an American flag and a dog's head painted in the colors of the Afghan Republican flag. A funny patch with Trump's hair kissing, chevrons of the American embassy, star-and-striped eagles on buttonholes.

There are more awards: the Afghan dumps medals in packages on the table, "Purple Heart" (given for injury) for $15, and the rest are $10 each.

The awards are not numbered, and I, having doubted their authenticity, leave the store at my own peril and risk.

The street is surprisingly quiet. After the last "capture" of Panjshir, the Taliban fired into the sky all night. As a result, bullets that fell from a great height killed almost two dozen people. Zabiullah Mujahid called on his comrades-in-arms to abandon this tradition. And, apparently, they heard him.

After that false start, the Taliban still got their way. Rumor has it that they were helped in this by the Pakistani special forces, which directed the Pakistani Air Force to the positions of the rebels and with the surprisingly tacit consent of the international community.

Only Iran was not very confident in its condemnation of the military operation in the Panjshir Gorge, and was limited to that. China, the United States, Russia and the European Union have made it clear that they will not take sides. In the end, it is easier to deal with one force with a not very good background than with the motley emirs of the vilayets, into which Afghanistan can disintegrate in the event of a new internecine war.

China-Japan-Koreas
IT's ON! :: Nearly Two Dozen Chinese Military Aircraft Violate Taiwan's Airspace
[Breitbart] China deployed 19 military aircraft to Taiwan on Sunday, where the air fleet subsequently penetrated the southwestern corner of the island’s air defense identification zone (ADIZ), Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense (MND) confirmed.

China’s People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) dispatched "10 Shenyang J-16 fighter jets, four Xian H-6 bombers, four SU-30 fighters, and one Shaanxi Y-8 anti-submarine warfare plane (Y-8 ASW)" to Taiwan’s ADIZ on September 5, Taiwan News reported.

"Taiwan’s Air Force responded by scrambling fighter jets to drive the planes away, broadcasting radio warnings, and tracking the aircraft with land-based anti-aircraft missiles," according to the newspaper.

ADIZ refers to "an area of airspace over land or water in which the ready identification, location, and control of all aircraft ... is required in the interest of national security," according to the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration.

Taiwan is a sovereign island nation located off the southeastern coast of China. Beijing considers Taiwan a renegade province and has vowed to "reunify" the island with mainland China by force if necessary. Taiwan operates successfully as an independent country with its own government and military. The relatively small island is extremely valuable as its Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. manufactures nearly all of the world’s microchips. Taiwan’s unparalleled semiconductor industry means the island is highly coveted by Beijing.

China’s PLA has increasingly deployed military aircraft to violate Taiwan’s ADIZ over the past year in an effort to intimidate the island. The incursions have seemed nearly incessant at times.

"Chinese planes were tracked in Taiwan’s identification zone 22 times in April, 18 times in March, 17 times in February, and 27 times in January," Taiwan News noted in May, citing MND data. The newspaper made the observation while reporting on Taiwan’s seventh ADIZ penetration by Chinese PLA aircraft that month alone.

China’s latest violation of Taiwan’s ADIZ on September 5 "marked the third consecutive day that the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) had dispatched two or more aircraft into the zone, with four planes deployed on both Friday and Saturday (Sept. 3-4)," Taiwan News reported on Sunday.

Taiwan’s military should monitor future air incursions by China’s PLA "for the possible inclusion of the new J-16D, which is designed for electronic warfare," Taiwanese military scholar Su Tzu-yun told the Singapore-based news agency CNA on September 5.

"[T]he J-16D is believed to have capabilities similar to the Boeing EA-18G Growler in that it can suppress ground and sea air defense systems and jam radar systems," according to Su.
With the Biden Admin bought and paid for by the Chinese, taking Taiwan is now or never. This was a probe of Taiwan's defenses.

#13  The size of the force tells you a lot about what is coming. Probing the ADIZ (Air Defense Interdiction Zone or whatever is now used) will not get a good systems signature when it is obvious it is only a probe, OPSEC to keep mainforce capabilities offline is normal. But if you put a bunch of sorties in the air, many of some size, then send a capable force that could have tactical WMD, you have to up the capabilities, warming up mainforce elements and offering the systems signatures for target mapping. Even if the systems are mobile, they are now defined and other assets that have 24/7 overwatch from the very high ground can now map wherever you send them. This seems to be much more serious as the credibility of the Biden Doctrine is now risible.

#16  The problem with China going fully kinetic is that what the CCP wants is not the piece of dirt we call Taiwan, but the crown jewels of the Taiwanese economy, intact. For example, Taiwan Semi has the largest chip foundry in the known universe, and whoever controls it can strangle a lot of nations -- like us-- who depend on Taiwan Semi's chips. So if the CCP conquers Taiwan but destroys Taiwan Semi in the process, or scatters Taiwan Semi's hyper-skilled workers, the CCP gets bragging rights but misses the main objective. The CCP strategy has to be to coerce Taiwan into surrender by means short of all-out war. If I were Taiwan, I'd have every factory ready to blow, and make sure the CCP knows it.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Agreement in Syria's Daraa is carried out without violations
[NPASYRIA] On Monday evening, an informed source in the city of Daraa, southern Syria, said that the implementation of the terms of the agreement between the notables and the government security committee under the auspices of the Russian forces went today as planned without any violations.

On Sunday evening, a number of Daraa’s notables and government forces, in the presence of a number of Russian officers, reached a ceasefire agreement, with a deadline until ten o’clock this morning to hand over weapons and start implementing the terms of the agreement.

"The situation of a number of residents was settled, and a number of light weapons, a 60-caliber mortar and 12.5 DShK machine gun were handed over," a source close to the Central Committee said.

One of the notables of Daraa al-Balad told North Press that some of the terms of the agreement will be completed tomorrow, on Tuesday, with the deployment of military checkpoints in Daraa al-Balad, Tariq al-Sadd neighborhood and the camps.

He added that the rest of the terms of the agreement are also supposed to be implemented, "including the withdrawal of the Iranian-backed factions that have besieged Daraa al-Balad and the neighborhoods that have been besieged for 77 days."

Aoun: Corrupt System Controls Lebanon
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Lebanese President Michel Aoun
...president of Leb, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah...
continued on Sunday his verbal campaign against what he calls the corrupt system, which he said controls the country and fears accountability.

"Failure of every plan for financial and economic recovery means one thing, which is that the corrupt system that still controls the country and the people fears accountability," he said during a meeting with a youth delegation at the Baabda Palace.

Aoun explained that a recovery plan stems from three main pillars: identifying losses, defining responsibilities and accountability, and determining treatment methods.

He added that the failure to determine the financial losses and their distribution between the central bank, banks and the state led to two serious matters: First, ignoring those responsible for the financial ruin of the country and second, holding the Lebanese people solely responsible for the financial collapse, and depleting their deposits.

"The people must know who is humiliating them on a daily basis as they try to obtain their most basic rights and who is preventing them from freely accessing their money at banks," Aoun said.

He added that every popular revolution must aim to identify and distribute losses, define responsibilities, hold officials accountable, and find solutions and identify those who caused the financial disaster.

The people alone should not be held responsible for the crisis, he urged.

Afghanistan
Four Americans Leave Afghanistan by Land in First Departures Since US Pullout
[EN.ALGHADEERTV.NET] Four Americans left Afghanistan by land on Monday with Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
knowledge in the first departures arranged by the US government since its military pullout, a US official said. The four US citizens left by land and were greeted by American diplomats, said a bigwig, without specifying to which country they crossed.

"The Taliban did not impede them" and were aware of the effort, the official told news hounds accompanying Secretary of State Antony Blinken flying to Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
US officials say other Americans may have left since the United States ended its 20-year war at the end of August, but they would have done so by private means.

Washington says it is closely watching whether the Taliban makes good on promises to let US citizens and allies depart as it decides how to deal with the Islamists, who seized the capital Kabul on August 15 as the US-backed government crumbled.

US officials say just over 100 Americans, mostly dual nationals, remain in Afghanistan after the massive airlift of tens of thousands of people in the last days of America’s longest war.

President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S., who gives the term geriatric a bad name. He blames Afghans for losing Afghanistan....
’s Republican rivals have been quick to accuse him of abandoning Americans.

Tens of thousands of interpreters or others who supported the US mission and their family members are believed to remain, with much-fearing retribution despite Taliban assurances.

With Kabul airport in disarray, land routes are the keyway out of Afghanistan, primarily through Pakistain or Iran, which does not have diplomatic relations with Washington.

#1  Department of state has Nothing to do with this EVAC.

We're From the Government and We're Here to Help
[FDA] After demonizing nearly every medication with the potential to reduce the severity of COVID-19 symptoms, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) finally recommended monoclonal antibodies earlier this summer. Before the official recommendation, some providers used them under an emergency use authorization (EUA) granted by the FDA in November 2020. The FDA just granted an EUA to allow their use for SARS-CoV-2 post-exposure and ongoing prophylaxis. This approval will increase demand.
So the Government gets to decide who gets it and who doesn't. Death panels, anyone?
Recently, the treatment has gotten quite a bit of media coverage. While the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has been promoting the treatment on the Combat Covid website since early summer, one man ensured a nationwide media campaign. Once Florida Governor Ron DeSantis decided to promote outpatient treatment using the antibodies and establish infusion centers, the media reacted because he is a very dangerous Republican.

Somalia: Puntland dispatches troops to Galmadug for Al-Shabaab war
[Garowe] Puntland
...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion...
, the northeastern state of Somalia, said on Friday it had sent forces to the neighboring region of Galmudug
...a semiautonomous region in central Somalia, bordering Puntland on the north. Galmudug is not trying to obtain international recognition as a separate nation, but rather considers itself autonomous within the larger Somali federalism, for what that's worth...
to help the military there push al-Shabaab
...... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
Islamist gunnies out of a strategic town they captured last month.

Last month, al-Shabaab attacked a military base in the Galmudug town of Amara and took control of it after battling with government special force units, known as Danab and Darwish.

Amara is a strategic town that lies on the route to the coastal town of Harardheere, another al-Shabaab stronghold.

The governor of Puntland's Mudug region, Abdilatif Muse Nuru San Yare, told Rooters they had sent troops with experience in fighting al-Shabaab to Galmudug.

"We have sent troops to Galmudug who know how to fight al-Shabaab and it is an alliance to eradicate al-Shabaab," Yare said. He did not say how many troops had been sent.

Al-Shabaab has been fighting in Somalia for years in an attempt to topple the central government and establish its own rule based on its strict interpretation of sharia, or Islamic law.

The group often carries out gun and kabooms targeting both military and civilians targets.

"Since Puntland....has experience in fighting al-Shabaab, we have asked them to help us expel al-Shabaab," Galmudug's Deputy Security Minister, Abdulahi Abdisalan, told Rooters.

The two states recently signed a security package and it was the basis of sending the troops to the region. Previously, Puntland has registered victories against the al-Shabaab group, further showcasing abilities in the operations across the country.

Civilian injured in Turkish shelling on Syria's Ain Issa
[NPASYRIA] On Monday, a civilian was maimed in a shelling by the Ottoman Turkish forces and the affiliated opposition factions on the village of al-Khalidiya, 5 km west of the town of Ain Issa, northern Syria.

A medical source in the hospital of the town of Ain Issa said that they provided first aid to the 28-year-old, Yasser Youssef Hajo, who was injured by a shrapnel and was taken to the hospital, given to his serious injury.

"He might need a surgery," the source added.

On August 4, four people from one family bit the dust, and two others were maimed, as a result of the bombing of the Ottoman Turkish forces and the opposition factions on their house in the countryside of Ain Issa.

The Ottoman Turkish armed forces and their affiliated armed opposition factions have regularly bombed and attempted to infiltrate Ain Issa and its surroundings since last year. Ain Issa sits along the M4 Highway, on the front lines between the SDF and Ottoman Turkish-backed armed factions.

Dozens of civilians have been killed and injured by Ottoman Turkish and opposition attacks, including children, despite the presence of Russian soldiers which are supposed to enforce the ceasefire agreement signed between Russia and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

Libyan Oil Ministry: Sanalla's Suspension Remains in Effect
[LIBYAREVIEW] On Monday, Libyan Minister of Oil and Gas, Mohammed Aoun said that the decision to suspend the head of the state-run National Oil Corporation (NOC), Mustafa Sanalla remained valid. This will potentially set the stage for renewed tensions, hours after Prime Minister Abdel-Hamid Dbaiba rescinded the order, according to Bloomberg.

The ministry said it was steadfast in doing its duty, "despite the many difficulties and obstacles it has, and still faces," according to a statement it released. An earlier decision to suspend Sanalla was "still in effect and awaiting enforcement by the authorities," it said.

Officials at the NOC were not immediately available for comment.

The move came after Dbaiba held a meeting with the two officials late on Sunday, and stressed that stability in Libya’s oil sector required "wisdom" and that issues that could threaten that goal must be addressed.

He also directed the two to address their differences, emphasising the importance of stabilising the oil sector, and increasing production rates. He added that the formation of an oil ministry after six years of individual work by the NOC required, "administrative and technical order to create an appropriate hierarchy."

After Al-Saadi's Release... Where is The Rest of Gaddafi's Family?
[LIBYAREVIEW] On Sunday, Muammer Qadaffy’s third son, Saadi was reportedly released from prison in Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
, nearly a decade after the Colonel’s death, so where are the other family members?Three of the former ruler’s seven sons died in the uprising, including Mutassim, Saif al-Arab, and Khamis who were killed in the 2011 civil war. Other members of the Qadaffy family survived, including his wife Safiya, his eldest son Mohammed — from his first marriage — and his daughter Aisha, who live in exile.

After the fall of Tripoli to rebels in August 2011, Safiya, Mohammed, and Aisha escaped to Algeria. They were later granted refuge in Oman on condition they do not carry out political activities, the country’s then Foreign Minister, Mohammed Abdelaziz told AFP in 2013. Aisha, a lawyer by profession and a former UN goodwill ambassador, had been part of an international defence team for Saddam Hussein after the Iraqi leader was ousted in the 2003 US-led invasion.

Mother disowns Ukrainian gay Nazi journalist
Some journalists work for 40 years, get paid of upwards of $2 million and never get to write a headline like this.

Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

[NewsFrontInfo] The mother of Ukrainian journalist Vladislav Kruglov disowned her son. She made this decision due to the fact that he promotes the Armed Forces of Ukraine and homosexuality.

This was reported by the Politnavigator Telegram channel. The young man works for the ICTV channel. He himself is a native of the "Luhansk region", but works hard for the benefit of the Kiev ideology. He was even awarded the badge of the Joint Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "For Service and Valor," 3rd Class.

Against this background, there was a conflict between Kruglov and his mother. From their correspondence it is clear that she was not happy about her son and did not congratulate him. In addition, the woman is upset by Vladislav's homosexual inclinations.

He reacted to the words of his mother with an insult and a call to deprive such people of the right to vote. But he proudly noted that a kind of "gay party" had gathered at ICTV.

According to some reports, the newly-minted "hero" was also seen in blackmail. He demanded money from his former lover for living and using video equipment. He responded by accusing him of drug use and warned that he would publish a video.

Russian Top Kommie calls Russian economy haunted due to rate increase
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] The next increase in the key rate by the Central Bank means that the situation in the economy is "haunted", says Gennady Zyuganov , the leader of the Communist Party faction in the State Duma .

"If this is really the case, then the situation in the Russian economy is going, as they say, 'out of control.' Real inflation, especially food inflation, breaks all records. Instead of curbing it, the authorities are putting a big cross on the development of domestic production, making loans more and more burdensome for the population, and mortgages too heavy," Zyuganov said.

The parliamentarian insists that in order to overcome the crisis, it is not necessary to raise the key rate, but to stimulate the real sector of the economy with the help of 'long' targeted and cheap loans.

As reported earlier by IA REGNUM , the Central Bank in the spring of 2021 began a cycle of raising the key rate due to accelerated inflation. The rate began to rise from 4.25%. Now it is 6.5%, at the last meeting in July, the Central Bank raised it immediately by one percentage point. Experts predict the rate will rise to 7% after the meeting of the Central Bank Board of Directors on September 10.

Kensington Philadelphia Drug & Crime Problems

Violent crime and drug abuse in Philadelphia as a whole is a major problem. The city’s violent crime rate is higher than the national average and other similarly sized metropolitan areas.1 Also alarming is Philadelphia’s drug overdose rate. The number of drug overdose deaths in the city increased by 50% from 2013 to 2015, with more than twice as many deaths from drug overdoses as deaths from homicides in 2015.2 A big part of Philadelphia’s problems stem from the crime rate and drug abuse in Kensington.

Because of the high number of drugs in Kensington, the neighborhood has a drug crime rate of 3.57, the third-highest rate by neighborhood in Philadelphia.3 Like a lot of the country, a big part of this issue is a result of the opioid epidemic. Opioid abuse has skyrocketed over the last two decades in the United States and Philadelphia is no exception. Along with having a high rate of drug overdose deaths, 80% percent of Philadelphia’s overdose deaths involved opioids2 and Kensington is a big contributor to this number. This Philly neighborhood is purportedly the largest open-air narcotics market for heroin on the East Coast with many neighboring residents flocking to the area for heroin and other opioids.4 With such a high number of drugs in Kensington, many state and local officials have zoned in on this area to try and tackle Philadelphia’s problem.

Somalia in constitutional crisis after fallout between PM Roble and President Farmaajo over sacking of NISA boss Fahad Yasin
[Garowe] Differences between outgoing President Mohammed Abdullahi Farmaajo and Prime Minister Mohammed Hussein Roble widened on Monday over embattled spy chief Fahad Yasin, who has now been placed at the center stage on the death of a junior officer.

On Sunday, a furious Roble suspended Yasin, an associate of President Mohammed Abdullahi Farmaajo, over the unanswered mysterious death of Ikran Tahlil, who previously worked as cyber security expert within the National Intelligence Security Agency [NISA]

Earlier, Roble had given Yasin 48 hours to issue a comprehensive report on the death, which has caused ripples in the country. But moments later, Yasin responded by asking Farmaajo to convene an emergency National Security Council meeting in what seemed to be defiance to Prime Minister Roble.

Lapid to Visit Moscow for Settling Differences over Israeli Attacks in Syria
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid will meet his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov for the first time in Moscow this week amid growing tensions between Russia and Israel over Syria, where Moscow is helping the regime thwart Israeli attacks to Tel Aviv’s discontent.

Lapid is set to depart Israel on Wednesday evening and return the following day.

The foreign minister is visiting the Russian capital a few days after the Russian military in Syria said the air defense system it supplied to Syria shot down 21 of 24 missiles launched by Israel.

The Russian military’s statement has alarmed Israel, especially since Moscow had previously promised Tel Aviv that its assistance to the Syrian regime will be limited and that the advanced S-300 air defense batteries sale to Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Despoiler of Deraa...
’s forces will not be used against Israeli jets.

Considered as a direct and frank challenge from Russia to Israel, the Russian military’s statement was unprecedented, especially since one of the downed missiles had its fragments fall over Tel Aviv neighborhoods, striking fear and panic among residents.

A few weeks ago, new director of the National Security Council, Eyal Hulata, and his predecessor, Meir Ben Shabbat visited Moscow to meet with Nikolay Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council.

The two sides discussed the ongoing conflict of interests in Syria and other regional issues.

Even though the rising tensions in Syria were discussed, the two sides failed in finding a solution to the problem.

Many observers have predicted that the change in Russian rhetoric towards Israeli strikes in Syria stems from discontent towards Israel obstructing Moscow’s efforts to evacuate the Syrian opposition from the southern governorate of Daraa and looking to escalate tensions on Syrian territory.

Despite agreement, Syrian security forces arrest people in Daraa
[NPASYRIA] Sinceyesterday on Sunday, the Syrian government forces have launched an arrest campaign in three towns in Daraa, south Syria.

"The security members of the government forces arrested about 15 people in the towns of Sheikh Meskin in the central countryside of Daraa," a relative of one of the detainees said.

"Most of the detainees are brothers or relatives," he added.

"The security members arrested three young men after storming a number of houses," a local source from the town of al-Hara in the northern countryside of Daraa said.

Some sources said that among the detainees were settlement card holders under an agreement signed under the auspices of Russia in the summer of 2018.

Yesterday, on Sunday, five people from the town of Da’el in the central countryside of Daraa were arrested, according to some residents.

Earlier today, the Central Committee in Daraa and the government security committee, accompanied by the Russian guarantor, started to implement the terms of the agreement that was reached yesterday evening, which includes handing over light and medium weapons.

"ISIS" in al-Sukhnah town, west of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.

"Thirteen members were killed and five others were arrested in an attack by ISIS gunnies that targeted a government forces’ night bus on the main road in al-Sukhnah desert, which was heading to Deir ez-Zor," a military source of the Fourth Division of the government forces said.

"The bus was transporting members of the government forces from their place of service in Homs to a another headquarters in Deir ez-Zor," the source added.

After the attack, the government forces brought in reinforcements to the scene of the incident to comb the desert and search for detainees.

Also, on Monday dawn, ISIS gunnies attacked government forces points in the town of Kobajjep, south of Deir ez-Zor.

ISIS gunnies targeted the government forces’ points near the town of Kobajjep, with RPG launchers, which led to the injury of several members and the damage of two vehicles, and then ISIS withdrew towards the depth of the desert, according to a source.

In DR Congo, militants raid villages and kill civilians
[EN.ALGHADEERTV.NET] Militants have hacked to death at least 30 people in a new massacre in the restive northeast of the Democratic Republic of the Congo
...formerly the Congo Free State, Belgian Congo, Zaire, and who knows what else, not to be confused with the Brazzaville Congo aka Republic of Congo, which is much smaller and much more (for Africa) stable. DRC gave the world Patrice Lumumba and Joseph Mobutu, followed by years of tedious civil war. Its principle industry seems to be the production of corpses. With a population of about 74 million it has lots of raw material...
Locals and sources from the United Nations
...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks...
(UN) said on Monday that the murderous Moslems armed with machetes, sticks and clubs had raided an area of Ituri province on Saturday.

Dieudonne Malangayi, a local official, said more bodies had been discovered in the bush.

"The civilians who went to look for the bodies of the victims found 16 others in the bush, which makes 30 civilians massacred," he was quoted by AFP as saying.

A UN source also confirmed that at least 30 people had died in the attack.

Augustin Muhindo Musavuli, a village elder who helped look for bodies, said some had their throats slit, others were disemboweled.
Heart of Darkness stuff...
"We went into the bush with young people, accompanied by soldiers," he said. "We transported the bodies on cycle of violences... Lots of people died."

David Beyza Katabuka, head of the local Red Thingy, said he could not send a team to bury the bodies. "We fear for our security and we don’t have enough equipment to do the work."

No group immediately grabbed credit for the raid. But the Allied Democratic Forces
...the ADF is one of several murderous Moslem groups in NE Congo. In 2019 the U.S. Treasury Department imposed sanctions on them for the usual reasons. They don't appear to be affiliated with al-Qaeda or Islamic State, though ISIS claims their work from time to time — they just like killing infidels....
(ADF), a group linked to the Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
terrorist group ISIS has been blamed for the latest assault in the region. The group seldom makes public statements.

In late May, more than 50 people were killed in the region in a single day in an attack on two villages.

Since then, the two eastern provinces of North Kivu and Ituri have been under a state of siege and martial law.

The ADF, which first emerged as a rebel movement in neighboring Uganda in 1996, is considered the deadliest of scores of armed militias that roam the mineral-rich eastern DR Congo.

Congolese authorities and rights groups have accused the ADF of killing hundreds of civilians during a fresh spate of violence in apparent retaliation for army offensives against them since late 2019.

In addition to the ADF, eastern Congo also suffers from inter-communal violence that left thousands of people dead over the past years.

Man nearly lights himself ablaze during arson at Brooklyn festival: video
[NYPOST] Video captures the moment a firebug set aflame a ticket booth at an Italian American festival in Brooklyn last month — and nearly torched himself in the process.Adnan Ali Hussein, 28, can be seen at the ticket booth for the 18th annual Feast of Santa Rosalia in Bensonhurst on Aug. 24, according to the FDNY, which released footage of the incident Sunday.

Hussein first applies an "ignitable liquid" to the booth and then pulls an object out of his pocket and lights the booth on fire, officials said. Investigators believe he used a lighter, officials said.

The suspect can be seen on the video then jumping back in surprise when the flames nearly overtake him.

Hussein was arrested Sept. 2 and was charged with arson in the third degree, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief, officials said.

Afghanistan
Taliban enters Panjshir, opposition vows to continue resistance
[NPASYRIA] After controlling Panjshir Valley, the last stronghold of the resistance forces led by Ahmad Shah Masoud, Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
has controlled the country as a whole, said Zabiullah Mujahid, the official front man for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, known as Taliban, in a presser on Monday.

In an audio recording, Ahmad Masoud, the leader of the National Resistance Front in Afghanistan, admitted that the Taliban is now controlling all of Afghanistan.

Although many of the leaders of the military resistance, including members of his family, were killed, Masoud said that they will continue resisting the Taliban in the Panjshir Valley.

A video which was posted on social media showed some fighters of the Taliban raising the flag in front of the headquarters of the governor of the state of Panjshir Valley, signaling the full control of the state that Ahmad Masoud had taken as a stronghold.

In the context, Zabiullah Mujahid reassured the residents of Panjshir Valley that they will be treated equally, adding: "they are our brothers and they will work with us for a common goal and prosperity of the country."

Since May, the Taliban has expanded its control of Afghanistan, coinciding with the start of the last phase of the withdrawal of the US forces, which was announced to be ended by August 31.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Suspect in deadly Acre hotel firebombing charged with terror offenses
[IsraelTimes] But Hassan Eid, 27, not charged with causing death of Israel Prize-winning space scientist, who died as a result of arson attack on boutique guest house

Prosecutors filed terror charges Sunday against a resident of Acre over the deadly Molotov cocktailing of a hotel in the northern city in May, which had come amid violent mostly peaceful festivities between Jews and Arabs as Israel fought against Paleostinian terror groups in the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip.

Hassan Eid, 27, was charged at Haifa District Court with arson as an act of terror and rioting with a racist motive.

However,
man does not live by words alone, despite the fact that sometimes he has to eat them...
he was not charged with causing the death of a guest in the hotel who died as a result of the fires in the building.

According to prosecutors, Eid used a rock on May 11 to smash the famed Efendi hotel’s glass door, then poured flammable material inside, and set it alight.

A statement from prosecutors noted other suspects later threw Molotov cocktails into the hotel.

"The actions of the defendant and others led to the conflagration in the hotel’s reception room, which abated after a few minutes. After the fire subsided, others arrived at the hotel with the knowledge that it was under Jewish ownership, and sowed more destruction out of a racist motive," the statement said.

Seven other suspects have been also charged in the case, but none with the death of hotel guest Aby Har Even, 84, who was hospitalized at death's door after suffering from burns and smoke inhalation.

Har Even, a former leader of Israel’s space program and a winner of the prestigious Israel Prize, succumbed to his wounds in the hospital several weeks later.

The seven indicted suspects were accused of entering the hotel and destroying furniture, equipment, dishes, and security cameras. But none of those individuals are believed to have set the fire that killed Har-Even in a different area of the hotel.

Hundreds of indictments have been filed against Jews and Arabs over days of May rioting in which mobs on each side attacked members of the opposite ethnicity, in a rash of violence not seen in decades. The tensions were partially fueled by war with Gaza-based snuffies and violent mostly peaceful pro-Paleostinian protests in Jerusalem.

Acre was a flashpoint of the ethnic tensions and more than a dozen Jewish-owned businesses were vandalized in the city.

Islamic State-inspired terrorist stayed in New Zealand despite immigration fraud
[IsraelTimes] Ahamed Samsudeen, the alleged perpetrator of Friday’s attack, was stripped of residency status in 2019; his appeal against deportation was set to be heard later this month

The Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
-inspired krazed killer who attacked shoppers in a New Zealand supermarket had been fighting deportation for immigration fraud, leaving the nation’s leader expressing frustration at the process.

The new details about the attack Friday in Auckland emerged as the condition of some of those injured in his attack improved.

Three critically injured patients remain in intensive care but are in stable, pH balanced condition, Director-General of Health Ashley Bloomfield said Sunday. Police added that the condition of one of the critically injured patients had improved. Bloomfield said a fourth person still hospitalized is in stable, pH balanced condition, while the three others have been released and are recovering at home.

The attacker, Ahamed Samsudeen, 32, arrived in New Zealand 10 years ago on a student visa. A Tamil Moslem, he applied for refugee status on the basis of being persecuted in Sri Lanka, where a civil war ended in 2009 with the defeat of a Tamil rebel group.

Immigration New Zealand declined his application, but he won his appeal, gaining permanent residency in 2014.

Police first noticed Samsudeen’s online support for terrorism in 2016 and by the following year, immigration agents knew he wanted to fly to Syria to join the Islamic State insurgency. They began reviewing his immigration status, fearing he could be a threat.

In 2018, Samsudeen was placed in durance vile
Please don't kill me!
after he was found with Islamic State videos and knives, and the following year, his refugee status was canceled after authorities found evidence of fraud.

"My understanding is that in the process of investigation into the terrorist, it was discovered that some of the documents that he had used in order to get his refugee status looked to have been fabricated," Deputy Prime Minister Grant Robertson said.

But Samsudeen appealed, triggering a lengthy process that automatically allowed him to stay in New Zealand until his appeal was heard.

Immigration authorities tried to argue he should remain behind bars, but in July, Samsudeen was set free.

Six Palestinian prisoners — four of whom were serving life sentences — escaped from a high-security Israeli prison through an underground tunnel
More about this story from yesterday.
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Six Paleostinian prisoners — four of whom were serving life sentences — beat feet from a high-security Israeli prison through an underground tunnel, launching a massive manhunt in the country just ahead of the Jewish new year.

Five of the six escapees were affiliated with the Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
movement, and one was Zakaria Zubeidi, a prominent figure with the Fatah organization. Israeli officials said the prison break was a big failure of the prison authorities on the highest levels and are fearful of attacks or copycat prison breaks.

On Sunday night around 1:30 a.m. local time the six prisoners escaped through a tunnel that started in a pit under cell number 5 and ended 50 feet away on the other side of the prison walls.

Several years ago a group of Islamic Jihad prisoners tried to escape in the exact same way taking advantage of the fact the prison was built on big concrete posts which left open space under the cells. At the time they were caught before using the tunnel.

An initial investigation found the current escape took advantage of the same weaknesses in the building, some of which were never fully fixed. The prison intelligence had no information about any break out plans.

On Sunday, 24 hours before the escape one of the prisoners, Zakaria Zubeidi — a member of the Fatah organization — asked to switch cells and move to the cell where five Islamic Jihad prisoners were held.

The request was unusual but didn’t raise any suspicions. All of the six prisoners were originally from the city of Jenin in the north of the occupied West Bank — only 10 miles from the prison.
The Times of Israel adds:
The most infamous runaway is undoubtedly former Fatah commander Zakaria Zubeidi, who oversaw terror attacks against Israelis during the Second Intifada from his stronghold in Jenin. Zubeidi was responsible for numerous acts of terrorism, including a suicide kaboom in the heart of Tel Aviv that killed an Israeli woman.

Zubeidi has claimed his turn to terror came following the deaths of his mother and brother, who he says were shot and killed by Israeli soldiers during street battles in Jenin during the early days of the Intifada. The operation was a response to a wave of Paleostinian suicide kabooms inside Israel; many of the bombers had emerged from Jenin.

Zubeidi was also known for his close ties with some on the radical anti-Zionist Israeli left, who saw him as a potential partner. His relationship with anti-Zionist activist Tali Fahima — who later converted to Islam — was notorious; Fahima went to his Jenin home to act as a human shield to prevent the Israeli army from targeting him.

In 2007, the Shin Bet security service and the Paleostinian Authority reached an amnesty deal for thousands of Paleostinians who had fought against Israel during the wave of violence. Zubeidi was one of them, and founded a so-called "Freedom Theater" in Jenin with a director of both Jewish and Arab Israeli heritage, Juliano Mer-Khamis.

Over a decade later, Israeli forces apprehended Zubeidi, charging that he had resumed his terror activities. The Shin Bet security service later said Zubeidi had confessed to two shooting attacks on buses outside the Beit El settlement in the central West Bank in November 2018 and January 2019 that maimed three people.

When Zubeidi arrived in court in March 2019, his charge sheet was long: two counts of intentionally causing death — the military legal system’s equivalent of murder — as well as multiple counts of attempting to intentionally cause death, membership in a terrorist group, weapons sales, firing guns at people and preparing explosives.

Some of the offenses dated back to the Second Intifada, before the amnesty agreement. But the Shin Bet said that Zubeidi’s alleged participation in renewed shooting attacks nullified the amnesty agreement, opening him up to prosecution for his terrorist activities during the early 2000s as well.

Zubeidi’s trial is ongoing and he has yet to be formally acquitted, convicted, or sentenced.

In 2018 — before his arrest by Israel — Zubeidi completed a master’s degree at Birzeit University. His dissertation, "The Dragon and the Hunter," chronicled "pursuit in Paleostinian experience."

"The dragon outwitted the hunter," rejoiced Fatah official Mounir al-Jaghoub on his Twitter page after Monday’s escape.

‘NOT THE FIRST NOR THE LAST’
The other runaway Paleostinians are members of the Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
terror group, all from the Jenin area.

Eham Kamamji, 35, from Kufr Dan, attacked and murdered 18-year-old Israeli Eliyahu Asheri, from the West Bank settlement of Itamar, in 2006. Kamamji, along with two accomplices, kidnapped and shot Asheri in the head at point-blank range.

Kamamji reportedly confessed to the crimes in court, expressing his pride in the murder.

"The teen I murdered was not a boy. He studied in an Israeli Air Force military college. I will not be the first nor the last, so long as the occupation continues," The Jerusalem Post reported from his 2007 sentencing hearing.

The al-Arida brothers — Mahmoud, 46, and Mohammad, 39 — were arrested in 1996 and 2002 for terror offenses. Both brothers, from Arraba near Jenin, are currently serving life sentences and are avowed members of Islamic Jihad.

Yaqoub Qadiri, 49, was arrested for planning terror attacks against Israelis, as well as for his membership in Islamic Jihad. Under Israeli military law, membership in a terror group on its own is a criminal offense that is punishable by years in prison.

The sixth and final detainee, Islamic Jihad member Munadil Nafayat, 26, is from the West Bank town of Yaabad, near Jenin. Nafayat, unlike his fellow runaways, had not been charged with a crime. Rather, he was held under Israel’s practice of administrative detention, which allows it to imprison suspects without filing charges for security purposes.

Administrative detention is legal under international law, which recognizes its necessity in extreme situations. Nonetheless, human rights
...not to be confused with individual rights, mind you...
groups contend that Israel abuses it; the practice is mostly used against Paleostinians suspected of terrorism.

Nafayat’s current stint in Israeli jail began in 2019. But he had been held in administrative detention before, including a four-month stint in 2015, according to Paleostinian media reports.

Afghanistan
Taliban-Haqqani rift brings Pakistan’s ISI out of the woodwork in Kabul
[OneIndia] The ISI which has claimed that it is a by-stander when it comes to Afghanistan has now turned into a trouble shooter with the government taking longer than anticipated to form.

The latest headache for the ISI is the reported clash between a group of the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
and its long standing ally, the Haqqani Network. Reports said that the Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar was injured in a clash with the Haqqani Network.
Oh? Interesting.
This prompted ISI chief, Lt. General Faiz Hameed to rush to Kabul in an attempt to iron out differences.

Everything will be okay, Hameed said in a video message from Kabul. On being asked if he would meet with the Taliban leadership, Hameed remained non-committal but added that they are working on peace and stability. I have just landed he said.

Several Afghansitan watchers tell OneIndia that the formation of the government is not as simple as it looks. The dispute between the Taliban and its allies is worsening. The rift was out in the open after it was decided to chose Haibatullah Akhundzada
...Former deputy to Taliban supremo Mullah Akhtar Mansour, now The Big Man Himself...
as the supreme leader. It was also decided that Baradar would work under his leadership.

The power struggle was something that was expected. The Haqqani Network are not agreeable to Akhundzada's leadership. Officials say that this dispute has forced the ISI to come out in the open. This is a clear sign that the Taliban is completely under the control of the ISI.
Quelle Surprise!
Former Afghanistan Vice President, Amrullah Saleh told the Daily Mail that despite Pakistain's claims to the contrary the Taliban were being micromanaged by the ISI. He said that the spokesperson for the Taliban receives instructions from the ISI every hour.
A wholly owned subsidiary, in fact.
Prior to the visit by Hameed, The Mighty Pak Army chief, General Qamar Bajwa met with British foreign secretary Dominic Raab and said that his country would assist in the formation of an inclusive administration in Afghanistan.

Micheal Rubin of the American Enterprise Institute writing in 19fortyfive.com said that the Taliban could not meet its target of setting up a new government. This is because the Haqqanis and several other Taliban factions would not accept Akhundzada as their supreme leader. Rubin said that this delay brought ISI out of the woodwork and forced it to depute a delegation led by Hameed for the emergency trip. A unitary Taliban has always been an illusion as the Quetta Shura
...Taliban's command center, located in Quetta, that the Pak govt hasn't been able to find since its establishment in November, 2001. Honest...
is different from the Haqqani Network which is different from the Northern Taliban.

Several Pakistain media outlets have reported about the ISI chief's visit to Kabul. Reports said that the ISI chief would discuss issues relating to security, pending request from countries about repartiation and economic matters.

Rubin also wrote that there are factions that are divided over issues such as the battle in Panjshir. Not many are enthusiastic about the battle in Panjshir. He said that the Taliban largely conquered Afghanistan on the basis of political deals rather than military victories. This is one of the main reasons why many within the Taliban are not enthusiastic about the Panjshir battle, Rubin also wrote.
Despite being all battle hardened and stuff? Oh, the humanity!

Belarus protest leader Kolesnikova sentenced to 11 years in jail
[EN.ALGHADEERTV.NET] A court in Belarus on Monday sentenced key opposition figure Maria Kolesnikova — who led mass protests against President Alexander Lukashenko last year — to 11 years in prison on national security charges.Kolesnikova’s lawyer Maxim Znak was also handed a 10-year prison sentence, according to the press service of onetime presidential hopeful Viktor Babaryko, whose campaign Kolesnikova managed.

Kolesnikova is the only major leader of last year’s unprecedented protests still in Belarus. She has been in jug for a year, after resisting forced deportation by ripping up her passport.

In power since 1994, Lukashenko has been cracking down on opponents since the protests, which erupted when he claimed victory in a disputed election.

In a video from inside the court shown by Russian media, Kolesnikova — who was handcuffed inside a defendant’s cage — made a heart-shaped symbol with her hands, which she often did at protest rallies.

She was smiling and wearing her signature dark red lipstick.

"Dear spectators, we are happy to see you," Znak, who was standing next to her, said in the video before the sentence was readout.

Kolesnikova — a 39-year-old former flute player in the country’s philharmonic orchestra — has become a symbol of the protest movement in Belarus.

She was arrested last September, when KGB agents put a sack over her head, pushed her into a minibus, and drove her to the Ukrainian border.

She resisted the attempt to throw her out of the country by reportedly jumping out of the car.

Kolesnikova was part of a female trio together with opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanovskaya and another campaign partner, Veronika Tsepkalo, leading last summer’s rallies against Belarus’s mustachioed leader.

husband — and Tsepkalo both fled Belarus to EU countries.

Tikhanovskaya says she was the true winner of the August presidential vote.

Afghanistan
Tolerant Taliban: How Shia Hazaras Live Under the New Authority in Afghanistan
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
By Aleksandr Kots

[KP] Sunny morning (in Kabul, it seems, there are no others) in the Shiite region of "Sakhi". Translated as "generous" - the epithet of the most revered among Shiites Imam Ali, son-in-law and companion of the Prophet Muhammad. Men and women with a characteristic Asian cut of the eyes climb the steps to one of the main Shiite shrines - the mosque named after Ali. Basically, these are the Hazaras, a people who inhabits central Afghanistan. They awaited the arrival of the Taliban with horror.

In 1998, when the Taliban entered Mazar-i-Sharif, they massacred the Hazaras. Ethnic and religious differences, suspicions of loyalty to Iran - there was no time for the trial. The militants simply drove around the city and shot everyone who came into sight. At the same time, it was forbidden to bury the bodies for six days. According to various sources, up to 20,000 people died, mostly Hazaras. The horror of these events is here at the genetic level.

But there was also a four-day execution in Bamiyan, during which almost two hundred people were killed, a massacre at the Robatak Pass. In general, it is difficult to imagine the mood with which the Hazaras were waiting for the "second coming" of the Taliban. Today his militants are on duty at the gates of the mosque with a Kalashnikov machine gun, emphasizing in every possible way that they have no claims to the Shiites.

"Of course, at first it was alarming," say the shopkeepers in front of the central entrance. "But so far we have not faced any discrimination."

"If we are given to work and earn money, then we do not see any problems," assures the ice cream man nearby.

And it is impossible to check the sincerity of his words. Behind me are two bearded men: one with a machine gun, the other with a submachine gun. They relentlessly accompany me on the territory of the shrine.

According to legend, the Bukhara emir, in order to make peace with the Afghan khan, sent envoys from Bukhara to Kandahar with a hirka (clothing similar to a robe) of the Prophet Muhammad. They spent the night at the site of the future mosque, and while they were sleeping, Imam Ali appeared and cut a huge stone with his sword. Shah ordered to build a mosque here. They say that if you crawl through the gap in this stone, any wish will come true. I was prevented from wearing a bulletproof vest.

"It has been 22 days since the Taliban occupied Kabul and the level of security has increased significantly," says local governor Said Yusuf. "We hope that there will be no further problems."

"There are no fears of persecution on the basis of ethnicity, as it was in the 90s?" I ask the question, while the bearded man was distracted by beggars.

"The Afghan people are always a little worried about this issue, " said Yusuf. He looks at the machine gunner half-turned. "But we have different peoples for many years used to live together, and now this problem is not."

It can be seen that the Afghan Hazaras are afraid of the new government - the memories of the past crimes of the Taliban are too fresh. And they are very wary of their "second coming". Some tried to escape by evacuation planes, some - through Pakistan. However, those who remain hope that the current Taliban, by all means, need at least partial recognition of the international community. And it cannot be achieved through mass executions.

"Do you have any complaints against us?" the bearded shopkeeper asks.

"No, no, everything is all right," they wave their hands.

"If someone will offend, immediately contact me," the Taliban waved patronizingly with the barrel of a machine gun.

"Tolerant Taliban" flashed through my head. Oxymoron.

Syrian government counts residents, homes in Deir ez-Zor countryside
[NPASYRIA] On Monday, the directorate of Municipalities, Social Affairs and Civil Registry Department of the Syrian government started to work on a census of the population and homes in its held areas in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

The committees of the Municipalities and Social Affairs started the census process, starting from the town of al-Masrab, west of Deir ez-Zor, to the town of al-Tebni in the same countryside, in conjunction with another committee started in the city of al-Mayadin, east of Deir ez-Zor.

"The teams belong to the Municipalities and are accompanied by employees of the Civil Registry Department under the guidance of the Directorate of Real Estate in Deir ez-Zor to inform all parties of the census results and to know the number of the residents in the area and the population residing outside the areas of the Syrian government," said Fawaz al-Jassem (pseudonym), employee at al-Tebni municipality.

"The homes, shops and lands whose owners reside outside the government-held areas will counted in order to find out the reasons for living outside their cities and villages, and to seize these properties until their owners return, and see the Real Estate Department in Deir ez-Zor," he added.
