US, allies accuse China of global cyber hacking campaign
[FinanceYahoo] The United States and a coalition of allies will accuse China's Ministry of State Security on Monday of a global cyber hacking campaign and will specifically attribute a large Microsoft attack disclosed earlier this year to hackers working on Beijing's behalf, a senior administration official said.

Opening a new area of tensions with China, the United States will be joined by NATO, the European Union, Britain, Australia, Japan, New Zealand and Canada to level the allegations, the official told reporters ahead of the announcement.

The announcement comes a month after G7 and NATO leaders agreed with President Joe Biden at summits in Cornwall, England, and Brussels in accusing China of posing systemic challenges to the world order.

The governments "will formally attribute the malicious cyber campaign utilizing the zero-day vulnerabilities in the Microsoft Exchange Server disclosed in March... to malicious cyber actors affiliated with the (Chinese Ministry of State Security) with high confidence," the U.S. official said. "The United States and our allies and partners are exposing further details of the PRC's (People's Republic of China's)pattern of malicious cyber activities and taking further action to counter it."

The Chinese embassy in Washington did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Chinese officials have previously said China is also a victim of hacking and opposes all forms of cyber attacks.

U.S. federal agencies, including the National Security Council, the FBI and the National Security Agency, will outline more than 50 techniques and procedures that "China state-sponsored actors" use in targeting U.S. networks, the official said.

Chinese state-sponsored cyber actors consistently scan target networks for critical and high vulnerabilities within days of the vulnerability’s public disclosure, the 31-page U.S. cybersecurity advisory seen by Reuters says.

"We will show how the PRC's MSS, Ministry of State Security, uses criminal contract hackers to conduct unsanctioned cyber operations globally, including for their own personal profit," the official said.

The United States in recent months has focused heavy attention on Russia in accusing Russian cyberhackers of a string of ransomware attacks in the United States.

In Monday's announcement, U.S. officials plan to formally blame the Chinese government "with high confidence" for the hack that hit businesses and government agencies in the United States using a Microsoft email service. Microsoft has already accused China of responsibility.

The operation specifically exploited weaknesses in Microsoft’s exchange program, a common email software. Cybersecurity experts were shaken by the scale and volume of the incident, totaling thousands of potential U.S. victims.

On Friday, the Biden administration issued an advisory to warn U.S. businesses about risks to their operations and activities in Hong Kong after China's imposition of a new national security law there last year.

Democrats Are Fighting Against One Man One Vote, NOT Voter Suppression
[The LID] If one believes the Democrats all of the newly passed or proposed state election laws are trying to take away people’s right to vote—especially minorities. But the truth is that the Democratic Party is fighting against a basic principle of our democratic republic: one man, one vote.

The President is scheduled to speak in Philidelphia on Tuesday. Per his Spox Jen Psaki, "He’ll lay out the moral case for why denying the right to vote is a form of suppression, and a form of silencing He will redouble his commitment to using every tool at his disposal to continue to fight to protect the fundamental right of Americans to vote against the onslaught of voter suppression laws."

What voter suppression is she talking about? Is she talking about ID? Even Stacy Abrams supports voter ID (along with over three-quarters of the American people)? Does Psaki believe ID suppresses the rural voter like Kamala Harris believes about requiring voter ID with absentee ballots?

Pavement that charges electric vehicles being developed in Indiana
[WRTV] - INDIANAPOLIS — The first phase of a project to develop wireless electric vehicle charging pavement on Indiana highways is slated to start later this summer.

Indiana will be the first location in the world to create a segment of pavement on the highway that can charge electric vehicles wirelessly, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation.

The three-phase project is part of the Advancing Sustainability through Power Infrastructure for Road Electrification (ASPIRE) Initiative. The project will use magnetizable concrete - which is developed by a German startup called Magment GmbH - to enable the wireless charging of electric vehicles as they drive.

"We're quite eager to see this first of its kind project unfold in Indiana," David Christensen, the ASPIRE Innovation Director, stated in a release. "This partnership that includes Magment, INDOT, Purdue University, and the larger ASPIRE consortium has great promise to really move the needle on technology development, which will, in turn, enable more positive impacts from deeper electric vehicle adoption."

Phases one and two of the electric charging pavement project will feature pavement testing, analysis and optimization research at Purdue University's West Lafayette campus.

In phase three of the project, INDOT will construct a quarter-mile-long testbed where engineers will test the concrete’s capacity to charge heavy trucks operating at high power (200 kilowatts and above). That location is yet to be determined.
Thoughts - I'm concerned with 'frost heave' in these parts and what that will do to any embedded power conductors for this. Secondly, unless this pavement will generate MegaWatts of charging capacity per foot (which in itself would seem problematic on many levels), one would have to drive or park their vehicle for a couple of hours on these strips to produce a sufficient charge.
Can't really make a valid assessment with this initial information, though.

#7  Details, TW. Inconvenient details.

Don't bother them with details because this is all for Mother Gaia (and the 'Science' is 'Settled', don't ya know).

And we won't talk about the intersectional curve comparison of CO2 and other 'toxic' emissions between Electric Vehicle Battery manufacturing (plus usage gas venting and battery replacement), and the emissions generated by internal combustion engine fuel production and use over a 500,000 mile lifetime. That might be problematic.

#8  I have an idea - put solar panels on the roof of the car. Problem solved?
Posted by: Raj || 07/19/2021 13:12 Comments || Top||

#9  That's the idea, Raj!

Average good solar panel puts out about 16-19 watts per square foot, and the industry leader (Sunpower) 20-sqft panel peaks out at about 360 watts.

Current Nissan Leaf requires about 5kW to charge so 13-14 of those panels mounted on the roof would be perfect! (Of course, that doesn't include actual operational energy requirements which are ~48kW)

#15  Some creative engineers could probably figure out a way to 'wire' the steel in steel-belted radial tires such and run a current through the pavement such that an induced current charged the car batteries but if I recall my thermodynamics correctly (doubtful) the energy pushed through the pavement would have to exceed that retrieved by the vehicle.

#16  Last I looked, the solar roads thing was dead. Mostly the obvious reasons: dirt and snow, and that whole driving on them business.

It will be interesting to see the math after they get the prototype up and running. I didn't goog it, but 'magnetizable concrete' has the scent of good ol' 19th century snake oil.

In any case, if we are going electric, we need to be building power plants, some version of The Green Power Scam, and an whole bunch of transmission lines right now.

India-Pakistan
Delhi police, farmers' meeting over proposed Parliament march inconclusive
The “farmers” of this protest are not simple men of the earth, but the rich farming syndicalists who control and profit from them — and can afford to spend a year in hotels and restaurants while protesting. Primarily Sikhs from Punjab, they are connected to the Sikh expat community, and therefore shelter in their midst professional Khalistani Sikh activists who take their money and direction from Pakistan’s ISI, which explains why they triumphally hoisted the Sikh flag atop the Red Fort in replacement of the flag of India. In addition to demanding revocation of the new farm laws that would allow individual farmers to sell their harvest directly, instead of to the syndicate, which then rakes off profits on the markup, they want the government to release all jihadis and Maoists arrested in the past year — much to the excitement of the anti-nationalist Soros/progressive NGOs.
[OneIndia] The Delhi Police on Sunday held a discussion with the agitating farmers sitting at the Singhu border, ahead of their planned protest near Parliament during its monsoon session to demand repeal of three farm laws.

The cops asked farmer unions to reduce the number of people who would gather in front of Parliament to protest against three agri laws from July 22, but it has been declined.

"We informed police that every day 200 farmers will go to Parliament from the Singhu border during the Monsoon session. It will be a peaceful protest and protesters will have identification badges also," Rashtriya Kisan Mazdoor Mahasangh national president Shiv Kumar Kakka said.

The Monsoon session of Parliament will start on Monday and is scheduled to conclude on August 13.

Every detail about each protester will be given to police, including a demonstrator''s Aadhaar card and mobile phone number, he said.
An interesting choice.
Police have offered an alternative place for the demonstration and have asked unions to reduce the number of protesters. This request of the police has been declined by farmer leaders, Kakka said.

The Delhi Police will give its reply on Monday and the timing of the protest will also be decided, he said.

Farmers have been protesting against the central laws since November last year at Delhi border points of Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur.

The legislations were enacted in September last year.

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), an umbrella body of over 40 farmer unions spearheading the stir against the central laws, has planned that around 200 farmers will protests outside Parliament every day during the period of the Monsoon session.

A tractor parade in Delhi on January 26, that was to highlight the demands of the farmer unions to repeal the, had dissolved into anarchy on the streets of the national capital as thousands of protesters broke through barriers, fought with the police, overturned vehicles and hoisted a religious flag from the ramparts of the iconic Red Fort.

The SKM had earlier said at a presser that two days before the Monsoon session begins, a "chetavani patra" (warning letter) will be issued to all opposition MPs to protest the farm laws inside the House.

Farmers agitating against the three farm laws claim that the legislations will do away with the Minimum Support Price system, leaving them at the mercy of big corporations.

Over 10 rounds of talks with the government, which has been projecting the laws at major agricultural reforms, have failed to break the deadlock between the two parties.

#1  I was born and raise in Punjab in a poor farmer's family. I never went to school as we had to work on farms. We were so poor that at times we didn’t have grains, vegetables, pulses or anything to feed ourselve ths we used to order pizzas. Despite owning huge lands no one used to buy our crops as there was n MSP. I vividly remember that the elders of my village had to add Chivas Regal to water to make it seem more due scarcity of water.

When my grandad used to come home after a long day at farms and asked for water and food, only to realize there was none. He was so dejected that he drove us in our old Mercedes to Hotel Marriot and we were forced to dine there.

[No. I do not need any sympathy from anyone but please here me out. I have been oppressed all my life and forced to dine in expensive hotels...]

Once, Daar ji flew to Bangkok to get a massage. Poor Daar ji had to survive only on chicken tikka and red wine. And oh the struggle!Even our freedom fighters wouldn't have struggle as much as my entire village; because due to drought we had to drink fruit beer, we could only eat Foie Gras n Duck à l'orange, later we had to till the soil with some tax payers blood so that we can reap grains. Even after living such a painful life, people don't believe that some of these bloody tax payers had blood cancer which in turn ruined our harvests. Bloody tax payers!! And they refuse to call us Annadata.

We are still so poor that we have only automatic oven to warm our food or pizzas this winter. The only ones who have played FARMVILLE can understand the pain of poor farmer families.

I had tears in my eyes while writing this. Only a person with heart of stone won't be moved after reading this story. I'm also eqaully ungrateful to some of the foreigners who have always stood for my movement through their fake Accounts.

-Great Cultural Revolution
Facing Reality: Two Truths about Race in America
h/t Instapundit - it's just a book blurb, but ...
The charges of white privilege and systemic racism that are tearing the country apart fIoat free of reality. Two known facts, long since documented beyond reasonable doubt, need to be brought into the open and incorporated into the way we think about public policy: American whites, blacks, Hispanics, and Asians have different violent crime rates and different means and distributions of cognitive ability. The allegations of racism in policing, college admissions, segregation in housing, and hiring and promotions in the workplace ignore the ways in which the problems that prompt the allegations of systemic racism are driven by these two realities.

What good can come of bringing them into the open? America’s most precious ideal is what used to be known as the American Creed: People are not to be judged by where they came from, what social class they come from, or by race, color, or creed. They must be judged as individuals. The prevailing Progressive ideology repudiates that ideal, demanding instead that the state should judge people by their race, social origins, religion, sex, and sexual orientation.

We on the center left and center right who are the American Creed’s natural defenders have painted ourselves into a corner. We have been unwilling to say openly that different groups have significant group differences. Since we have not been willing to say that, we have been left defenseless against the claims that racism is to blame. What else could it be? We have been afraid to answer. We must. Facing Reality is a step in that direction.

#1  Cause the Left has failed abjectly in one community after the transfer of massive wealth, suspension of equal standing before the law through affirmative action programs, and every excuse offered up since the Great Society Program of the mid-1960s. So everyone and everything else is to blame rather than admit they've been fundamentally wrong and destructive to the entire enterprise known as America. It's like the scene in Downfall where you know who says the German people deserve this abyss because they failed him.

A system with written cut-off limits and not the inherited multi-generational system it has become.

Then tie assistance/collection to proper to civil / social behavior.
Because why should any still criminally active street thug, gang banger, drug dealing low life, baby factory be allowed to suck off taxpayer funded assistance?

NOTE: A look at FBI Crime Data Tables proves the racial crime disparity argument.

But with that said.
I will also say we need to look at how the Assistance availability / design has been located by racial design. Because a majority of the Black community's population tend to be located by design in racially segregated low income, poor economic Metro Areas and projects. Which has promoted a separate culture and social behavior. Plus it increases Democrat voter district political power.

India-Pakistan
Top Lashkar terrorist who had deserted J&K police gunned down in Shopian
[OneIndia] A terrorist of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba
...the Army of the Righteous is one of Pakistan’s collection of wholly owned jihadi groups. They date back to the fight against the Soviets in Afghanistan, subsequently turned against India...
who deserted the ranks of the Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
police four years back has been killed in an encounter in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir.

Another terrorist was also eliminated in the encounter.

Ishfaq Dar alias Abu Akram was a top terrorist of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba, Kashmir police IGP, Vijay Kumar said. He had been active within the outfit since 2017.
A Big Turban in only four years? He must have been extraordinary — or the top ranks thinned remarkably to allow such rapid advancement.
The operation was launched at Check Sadiq Khan area in Shopian, following a tip off about the presence of terrorists.
*Ring ring* “Shopian coppe shoppe. Sergeant Mukkerjee speaking. How can we make your day happier?”
“Abu Ayesha the Weasel here. Listen carefully, I will say this only once: Abu Akram is hiding out in CSK, probably under the bed of someone else’s wife. Leave the payment under the usual rock — my youngest daughter needs braces.”
The cordon and search operation turned into an encounter after the Lions of Islam fired at the security forces.
Henchman #1’s head shot up. “Hark!” he ejaculated. “My SpideySense (TM) is tingling, Commence shooting in all directions!”
And so they did.
Abu Akram had deserted the police force in 2017.

On July 16, the security forces bumped off two Lions of Islam of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba in an encounter at the Danmar area of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.

A joint team of the Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF joined a cordon and search operation in the Alameda Colony of Danmar following a tip off. The area was then cordoned off by security forces.

This operation comes in the backdrop of another encounter that took place on Wednesday in which three bad boyz were potted in Pulwama. While two of those died were locals, the third was Abu Huraira, a commander of Pakistain origin.

With these encounters, the number of Lions of Islam bumped off in the Valley this year has gone up to 80.
Or possibly 200 or so. Once on the lam, who can say what quietly happened to them on a lonely country lane in the dead of night?
Of these 41 were from the Lashkar-e-Tayiba, while the rest were from the Hizbul Mujahideen
...Party of Holy Warriors, founded by Muhammad Ahsan Dar in September 1989. One of the Pak sock puppets waging jihad in Indian Kashmir. It was originally organized as the armed wing of Jamaat-e-Islami. In 1990, Dar declared Hizbul as the sword arm of Jamaat. Hizbul murdered many of the pro-independence intelligentsia in Kashmir. After the organization was taken over by Syed Salahuddin Dar and several other ex-Hizb leaders were assassinated between 2001 and 2003...
, al-Badr, Jaish-e-Mohammad
...literally Army of Mohammad, a Pak-based Deobandi terror group founded by Maulana Masood Azhar in 2000, after he split with the Harkat-ul-Mujaheddin. In 2002 the government of Pervez Musharraf banned the group, which changed its name to Khaddam ul-Islam and continued doing what it had been doing before without missing a beat...
and AuGH, Inspector General of Police, Vijay Kumar said.

#1  You are nearing Fred's greatness at this nonsense, TW. 😁 William M Gaines level.

thinned remarkably to allow such rapid advancement.

Reality is rather dull I'm afraid. The reason for the 'top-ness' is decidedly creditable to the police agencies and their overevaluation of these elements. Also somewhat to the unavailability of well trained, mentally sound and Darwin favoured stock for jihad here.

Case in point: a constable takes a six month training in... constable things. He's given a rifle, a big stick and some lessons in radio and police work. But he squabbles at work, is insubordinate and leans toward sasquatchery when reprimanded, so his destiny calls and he becomes a stupid terrorist.

It's the home ministry departments, internal intelligence that declares elements' overall dangerousness ratings to local forces. Anyone who manages to give Mukkerjee the slip once or twice becomes 'highly intelligent'. A runt with carnival plinker aim at 20 yards becomes 'Laskhkar's ace shooter'. You get the picture. These legends make it back to the moslem insurgents and they become hot tickets. Until they're punched.

#2  Quite. An emir leads anything from a platoon to an army. Big Turban is merely the English translation of the concept. Still, if such a one is held up as a shining example of the breed, others will strive to emulate his thinking and actions, with an equally Darwinian result. So much better than imitating someone actually good at the jihadi trade.

I am standing on the phrasing of giants. For me each recalls the time when the idea was new and the writer who first wrote it.

Caribbean-Latin America
Cuba Protesters Warn Americans Who Like Che Guevara: ‘He Was a F*cking Terrorist'
[Breitbart] Protesters gathered outside of the White House on Thursday evening to urge President Joe Biden to act in support of the protests ongoing in Cuba this week told Breitbart News the mainstreaming of Castro regime mass murder Ernesto "Che" Guevara in America undermines the suffering of those he killed.

Guevara, a wealthy Irish-Argentine communist who participated in Fidel Castro’s seizure of the island nation in 1959, presided over the organization of firing squads to eliminate people who disagreed with Castro and pioneered the use of concentration camps in Cuba. He wrote openly that he "really loved to kill" and particularly enjoyed killing religious people and suspected LGBT Cubans, but his legacy in the United States has somehow morphed into that of a "revolutionary" representing the downtrodden. A famous portrait of the killer has become a popular t-shirt in America and the West generally.

A man identifying himself as Gianni, a Cuban protester at the White House, waved a Cuban flag emblazoned with an image rejecting Guevara. He told Breitbart News that those who admire Guevara have "the wrong information" and urged them to become better acquainted with his true legacy.

"People think he was great and a revolutionary. What no one tells you is that he used to kill gays in Cuba. His great idea was concentration camps for gays," Gianni explained. "He used to kill Christians. He used to kill people that didn’t agree with him just because they wanted freedom and they didn’t want to be communist."

The very idea of the Cuban people raising up and throwing out its failed Russian/BLM supported Communist/Socialist Dictatorship, must scare the crap out of those here in the USA pushing to install their latest claimed "perfected" version.

What is it at now, 7.01b and 120+ million lives lost?

This also, may explain why the Harris/Pelosi/Chucky/biden admin is pushing back on CUBAN Asylum seekers.

Think about what fleeing Cuban people, that actually had to live in a Communist/Socialist run nation, would have to say and expose? It would be sure to open a lot of eyes, even for this spoon fed generation.

Senior Al-Shabaab leader killed in Somalia as military Ops intensify
[Garowe] A senior al-Shabaab
...... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...
leader was on Friday killed in Somalia, the military said, in the latest development, which proves the ability of the national army in retaking security responsibilities from the Africa Union Mission Forces.

In a statement, the military said the big shot was killed in Middle Shabelle, one of the regions which are prone to al-Shabaab attacks. The military has been carrying operations in the region for a couple of months as it seeks to consolidate bases from al-Shabaab.

The senior al-Shabaab leader was identified as Nuh Dhagool, who was leading the operation to extort the local populace to fund the group's activities in town. The al-Shabaab imposes hefty taxes on locals to sustain its operations.

"The terrorist was the head of extortion in the coastal area," the military said in a brief statement, without giving many details about the operation, which specifically targeted the senior al-Shabaab leader.

The group, which fights to topple the internationally-backed government, uses portions of southern and central Somalia to plot and direct terror attacks, steal humanitarian aid, extort the local populace to finance its operations and shelter, radical terrorists.

The bully boyz have recently increased their attacks against African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
and Somali forces, especially in Mogadishu, the national capital, targeting their bases, hotels, and other public places in Somalia and across the border.

Dhagool's death comes just hours after the SNA troops seized Ba'adweyn town in the Mudug region from the al-Shabaab bad boys. The federal soldiers hoisted Somali flags in the town as they burst into patriotic songs in support of the government.

Later this year, the Somali National Army will take over security responsibilities upon full implementation of the Somali Transition Plan [STP] which will see the exit of the Africa Union Mission Forces. The country has close to 22,000 foreign soldiers who are working in six sectors.

Afghanistan
U.S. Diplomats in Afghanistan Have a Hopeless Task
[PJ] With the U.S. military pulling back and pulling out in Afghanistan, it’s left to a few dozen civilian diplomats to try to implement Joe Biden’s policies in the midst of a pandemic and armed conflict between the Taliban and less radical factions.

Biden has pledged not to abandon Afghanistan despite increasing signs that the U.S. has very little say in the matter. And without a military contingent backing them up and protecting them, diplomats are exposed and vulnerable.

"In the absence of a military complement in Kabul, the task of the U.S. Embassy is made infinitely more complex, dangerous and difficult," Hugo Llorens, who served as the top U.S. diplomat in Afghanistan under presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump, told The Washington Post.

Biden sees the primary mission of the United States in Afghanistan to broker some kind of deal between the Taliban and remaining government forces that will safeguard what’s left of the peace deal and, above all, protect the hard won gains of women who are threatened with a return to the stone age by Taliban victories.

David Petraeus: Afghanistan falling apart after 20 years of US war
[Iran Press TV] Former US commander in Afghanistan and CIA director Gen. David Petraeus has said Afghanistan is falling apart as the United States is withdrawing troops from the country after 20 years of war in the country. In an interview with CNN
...the organization formerly known as the Cable News Network. Now who knows what it might stand for...
on Sunday, the retired US general said, "The situation on the ground has become increasingly dire with each passing week."

"I fear we will look back and regret the decision to withdraw," Petraeus said. "Sadly, we may regret that sooner than I had originally thought when I said that right after the decision was announced."

"Beyond that, I think we will also look back and regret the hasty way in which we seem to be doing this," added Petraeus, who retired from the Army to become director of the CIA in 2011.

US President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Sleazy Dem mschine politician, paterfamilias of the Biden Crime Family...
has announced that American troops would be withdrawn from Afghanistan, and he recently moved up the date of the final departure to August 31, as the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
claimed that they now control 85 percent of the country’s territory.

The US invaded Afghanistan in October 2001 on the pretext of fighting terrorism and removing the Taliban from power, but after the 20 years of war the country now looks descending into chaos and the Taliban knocking on Kabul’s door. Some high-profile Americans are now suggesting that the US war should not end.

Petraeus praised the Afghan National Security Forces for their fight against the Taliban, saying they "had been fighting and dying in very large numbers. And they still are. The problem now is they're not sure if someone is coming to the rescue, and that injects a very considerable amount of uncertainty into the battlefield."

The retired CIA chief went on to argue that withdrawing American troops was not going to end the fighting in Afghanistan.

"No one wants to see endless wars ended more than those who have actually served in them, but we are not ending this war, we are ending US involvement in it," he said.

Petraeus also said, "What I see now, sadly, is the onset of what is going to be quite a brutal civil war."
Courtesy of Skidmark, the Daily Mail adds:
While the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
government was dislodged from Kabul, it was never fully vanquished.

Since 2001, more than 2,300 American military personnel have died and more than 20,000 have been maimed in Afghanistan.

The number of Afghan civilians who have died ranges from 35,000 to 40,000, according to estimates.

The financial cost of maintaining the war effort is also steep for the American taxpayer, as the Pentagon is estimated to have spent more than $824billion in Afghanistan.

In recent weeks, the Taliban have chalked up dozens of wins and now hold key border crossings with Iran, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Pakistain.

The Taliban is enforcing its harsh interpretation of Islamic rule and reverting to its fundamental roots as it makes huge advances across Afghanistan.

Insurgents are issuing new orders to captured territories, banning smoking and beard-shaving and ordering villagers to marry off their daughters to foot soldiers and stopping women from heading out alone.

The Islamist group warned that anyone who breaks the rules 'will be seriously dealt with'.

It comes a day after video emerged of Taliban fighters massacring 22 Afghan commandos who had surrendered in Dawlat Abad, in northern Faryab province.

The Islamists are trying to persuade government troops to abandon their posts on the promise of safe passage back to their homes as they take advantage of the US withdrawal.

Turkey criticizes European court's ruling on headscarf ban
[AlAhram] Ottoman Turkish President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than there are in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really most important...

...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
court decision to allow employers to ban staff wearing Moslem headscarves as appeasing Islamophobia
...the irrational fear that Moslems will act the way they usually do...
'The decision by the European Court of Justice on headscarf in the workplace is another blow to the rights of Moslem women with headscarf and will play right into the hands of those warmongers against Islam in Europe,' Ibrahim Kalin tweeted.

'Does the concept of religious freedom now exclude Moslems?!'

The European Court of Justice on Thursday ruled that companies can ban employees wearing religious or political symbols if firms 'desire to pursue a policy of political, philosophical and religious neutrality with regard to its customers or users'.

The ruling applies to any symbols where there is a 'genuine need' for a ban.

The Luxembourg-based court's ruling reaffirms a 2017 decision. The case has been seen as contradicting a European Court of Human Rights decision from 2013 that allowed Christian crosses to be worn at work.

The Ottoman Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement Sunday that the latest decision came as 'Islamophobia, racism and hatred that have taken Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
hostage are rising, disregards religious freedom and creates a basis and legal cover for discrimination'.

Erdogan's government often criticizes Western institutions for what it says are attacks on Moslem citizens' rights.

Crannogs - Scotland's mysterious ancient artificial islands
[BBC] It was simple curiosity that prompted retired Royal Navy diver Chris Murray a decade ago to plunge into the icy waters around a mysterious islet in a small loch on his home island of Lewis in the Scottish Hebrides. But when the extraordinarily well-preserved pottery he found in the islet's silty surround was radiocarbon dated to 3600 BC, it pushed our awareness of civilisation on the British Isles back to a time before both Stonehenge and the first pyramids in Egypt.

The piece of land poking out of the Hebridean loch is an example of a remarkable form of a man-made island known as a crannog, which were created in multitudes via an inspiring blend of ingenuity and effort. Nearly 600 of these artificial islands have so far been recorded across mainland Scotland and its islands, built big enough to support large communal roundhouses or clusters of smaller dwellings, and linked by slender causeways or piers to the shorelines of myriad lochs in often stunning locations of wild beauty.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Russian defense chief summoned to Mariupol in war crimes investigation
[Rusvesna] Russian Defense Minister General Sergey Shoigu has been summoned to attend an investigation by Ukraine's state security forces, according to Russian language media.

The summons, issued by SBU investigator Taras Butenko, is investigating Shoigu for "the creation of paramilitary armed formations not provided for by law," which is a direct reference to the Russian speaking, Russian supported militia which took over parts of the Ukrainian oblasts Donetsk and Lugansk in 2014.

Those actions which initially began in the Ukrainian city, then named Slavyansk, spread throughout the eastern parts of the two oblasts, after Ukrainian military and paramilitary forces, Russian separatists claimed, began using military weapons against the separatists.

The leader of the separatists at the time was Igor Girkin, a reserve FSB colonel, who later also claimed a role in the Russian takeover of Crimea.

The announcement follows a much earlier announcement, in 2016 when the then Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Yuriy Lutsenko, announced his intention to arrest Shoigu and 17 high-ranking Russians.

The reaction from the Russian side has been predictable. Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council, Konstantin Kosachev, characterized the summons as "senseless and ridiculous," according to the Russian language Novosti

Novosti also reported that Director of the Institute of Newest States Alexei Martynov said, "This is a very strange decision..."

Martynov went on: "Apparently, they hope that Minister Shoigu, together with three or four divisions, will arrive and thus their wishes will come true. In the sense that, "be afraid of your desires," the expert concluded.

Ex-Joint Chiefs Chairman Mike Mullen: 'Incredibly disturbing' that military leadership reportedly feared Trump coup
[Yahoo via Job Vacancy] The current chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Mark Milley, had bluntly described his concern that Trump would use America’s armed forces to overturn the 2020 election, according to excerpts released of an upcoming book, “I Alone Can Fix It: Donald J. Trump’s Catastrophic Final Year,” by Pulitzer Prize-winning Washington Post reporters Carol Leonnig and Philip Rucker.
Excerpt from Milley book:
"They may try, but they’re not going to f***ing succeed," Milley told his deputies of a possible coup, according to CNN’s account of the book, which will be released Tuesday. "You can’t do this without the military. You can’t do this without the CIA and the FBI. We’re the guys with the guns."

#5  The good general is looking for an extension of his current tour or a posting to the CIA, CIA Think Tank, or the Deep State Department. He has no intention of leaving the beltway or well moneyed assignments. Few of them want to leave. They are ego bound. The power and influence are simply too great. It's D.C. Their question is always 'what do I have to do to remain in the club?' Previously loyalties are fungible.

Vandal smashes pair of 84-year-old religious statues outside Queens church in latest desecration attack
[NYDAILYNEWS] A pair of 84-year-old religious statues were smashed to pieces early Saturday by a woman outside a Queens church, the latest in a disturbing spate of incidents targeting local Catholic properties, church and police officials said.

The incident occurred at the Our Lady of Mercy parish, where the venerable statues of the Blessed Mother and St. Therese the Little Flower were knocked over, dragged into the middle of the street and broken with a hammer around 3:30 a.m., said John Quaglione, a front man for the Diocese of Brooklyn.

The statues dated to the opening of the Forest Hills house of worship back in 1937, he added.

Police responding to a 911 call were met by a man who told cops a lone woman knocked the statues over before shattering them in the street and fleeing on foot, according to the NYPD.
Police responding to a 911 call were met by a man who told cops a lone woman knocked the statues over before shattering them in the street and fleeing on foot, according to the NYPD. The police Hate Crimes Task Force was notified about the possible bias incident, cops said, and the investigation remained ongoing.

"Both of these statues have stood in front of the church since it was built," said church pastor Father Frank Schwarz. "It is heartbreaking, but sadly it is becoming more and more common these days. I pray this recent rash of attacks against Catholic churches and all houses of worship will end."

The attacker lugged the statues 180 feet across 70th Ave. before smashing the sculptures into pieces, said Quaglione.

A pair of similar incidents occurred within in a three-day stretch this past May, with the vandals chopping the head off a statue of the infant Jesus outside the diocesan chancery in Brooklyn on May 16 in the more recent attack.

An employee arriving for work the next day found the desecration of the piece portraying the Blessed Mother holding Jesus in her arms in a small garden area near the building.

The earlier incident involved the toppling of a crucifix bearing a statue of Jesus, with the vandals also tearing down and burning an American flag on May 14 at St. Althanasius Church in Bensonhurst.

Archdiocesan officials also cited an incident from last September where a statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe was toppled in Coney Island, with local parishioners and the Knights of Columbus raising money for a replacement unveiled three months later on her feast day of Dec. 12.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Two dozen cases of debris thrown at drivers in Seattle in two weeks, spurring calls for action
Synopsis: Feral yoots amusing themselves. Pols rubbing hands together and crying "What can we do? Oh, what can we do?"
[KIRO7] Seattle is now averaging more than two cases every day with debris thrown at drivers, mostly near downtown Seattle.

Washington State Patrol, working with Seattle police, have arrested 4 people in the last couple of weeks.

Yet, another case of rocks thrown from an overpass happened just Friday morning near the Washington State Convention Center. Troopers say no one was hurt in this latest case.

But the continued surge has drivers are calling on leaders to take action to stop the crimes.

There's nothing I can do, said Kristi O'Brien, who is a managing attorney at a law firm in downtown Seattle.

Drivers are getting increasingly frustrated because of these terrifying incidents.

Scooters, bikes, rebars, rocks %u2013 all sorts of debris are getting thrown at drivers from the overpass or side of the road. Some drivers have been hurt seriously enough to require treatment at the hospital.

O'Brien commutes into downtown from Mercer Island and said she was well aware of this disturbing trend.

Kind of looking a little bit nervously at the overpasses each time I drove into my office, O'Brien said.

Then on Wednesday she saw a propane tank careening over Dr. Jose Rizal bridge onto the I-90 highway below. It smashed into the windshield of the driver in front of her.

A full sized propane tank, the type you'd use for a BBQ grill, O'Brien said. This propane tank is bouncing around in the middle of the highway, she said.

She said that driver pulled over and appeared to be okay.

But just two weeks ago, another attorney at her law office had a chair and a cinder block thrown at his car with his three young kids inside.

What upsets me, O'Brien said. This feels like something that could be preventable. Why would you not take the steps that need to be taken and take it seriously?

She also believes the trend is bad for business in Seattle.

You already have people who've been hesitant to return to downtown, somewhat due to safety concerns, then you add this, O'Brien said.

Washington State Patrol said on Friday that since early April, there have been 186 reported incidents of debris thrown at drivers, with most cases happening in the downtown core.

Early last week there were 161 incidents %u2013 jumping 25 cases in less than two weeks.

WSDOT says it is monitoring traffic cameras and troopers have increased patrols but O'Brien says it's not enough.

There is going to be an immediate safety concern until physical barriers are put up to prevent it, she said. Other drivers have made the same suggestion.

However, WSDOT says fencing is not being considered for many reasons.

Among the reasons, a spokesperson said it wouldn't be an effective solution because:
  • There are too many locations where the debris are being thrown (WSP says more incidents happen from the side of the road than overpasses)

  • Objects like rocks can still be thrown over fences

  • WSDOT said they've had problems with people cutting fences

  • There would need to be engineering assessments to see if the overpasses could even handle the loads of installed fencing

But O'Brien says something does need to change.

I don't pretend to have the answers, I just know this is an urgent safety concern, she said.

Opposition bombs residential neighborhood in Syria's Aleppo
[NPASYRIA] On Sunday, rockets fell on the new al-Shahba neighborhood in the city of Aleppo, northern Syria, in a remarkable security development since the escalation of the mutual shelling between the government forces and opposition factions in the countryside of Aleppo and the Idlib region in northwestern Syria.

One of the shells fell on the roof of a building, which damaged it, but no injuries were reported, an eyewitness in the neighborhood said.

A source in the government forces in Aleppo suggested that the source of the missiles was the Darat Izza area northwest of the city, which is controlled by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else
...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State...
The bombing of the city coincided with the military build-up of government forces on the fronts of the western countryside of Aleppo and Idlib, and with the announcement of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra
...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli al-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ...
) that it was ready to repel any possible attack by the government forces on its areas of control.

Penny Nance: Intel community targets Americans – what I learned from FBI's 'assessment' of me, my organization
[FoxNews]... according to The New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

, between 2009 and 2011, the FBI opened 82,325 assessments, eventually moving forward for an official investigation of only 3,315. Of course, most or maybe all of those did not result in convictions.

The agency has refused to provide CATO Institute with updated numbers. How many assessments have taken place in the past 10 years without Americans even knowing they are being targeted?

This policy change was purportedly made to monitor terrorists. So, why was an organization of God-fearing, freedom-loving, hard-working, taxpaying women scrutinized?

The FBI’s documented reason for CWA’s "assessment" was that we were listed with two stars under Charity Navigators. Seriously? Is this what the FBI has been reduced to, searching online for charity ratings?

For the record, CWA has three stars with Charity Navigators, an unblemished record with Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) and clean audits every single year since our founding. Our financial record is spotless.

We will probably never know why this really happened but the timing, June of 2016, would suggest that it may have had something to do with my personal support for then-presidential candidate Donald Trump
...His ancestors didn't own any slaves...
. It is an undisputed fact that the FBI circumvented the law in their zeal to get information on President Trump.

In the end and unsurprisingly, the "assessment" of CWA was closed without any finding of wrongdoing, but that’s not the point. We should not have been targeted in the first place.

We should all be worried about the ability and hubris of a politicized FBI to invade and target American citizens and organizations out of favor with those in power. A citizen’s engagement in the political process, support for a presidential candidate, or a trip to Trump Tower should not draw the ire of the FBI.

We call on Congress to clamp down on the trampling of our civil liberties using perhaps well-intentioned but overly indulgent rules. The American people deserve better. We demand better.

Harris visits Walter Reed for 'routine' doctor appointment days after meeting with infected Texas Democrats
[FoxNews] Vice President Kamala Harris is going for what a White House official told Fox News is a "routine doctor's appointment" at Walter Reed Medical Center on Sunday.

The visit to the Bethesda, Maryland, hospital comes after she met with Texas Democratic lawmakers on Tuesday. Three of the Democrats had tested positive for coronavirus, with one testing positive Friday night and two others Saturday morning
Now up to five infected.
Courtesy of Besoeker, The Right Scoop adds:
Oh and by the way the maskless Democrats who flew to D.C. with Covid-19 in their carry-on luggage just met with her. Without masks.

This is the part where we ask the question we always ask, and must ALWAYS keep asking, because asking it is important even though it is rhetorical: HOW WOULD THIS STORY BE REPORTED BY THE MEDIA AND CNN IF IT WERE REPUBLICANS?

The solemn fast day observed on the ninth day of the month of Av in the Hebrew calendar marks the destruction of two Jewish temples in Jerusalem: The First Temple was destroyed by the Babylonians in 586 BCE, and the Second Temple by the Romans in 70 CE.

Militants carry out 28 attacks in the Idlib
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit, deputy head of the Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties (CPVS) in Syria, spoke about 28 attacks by terrorists in the Idlib conflict de-escalation zone.

Reported by RIA Novosti.

We are talking about the militants of the Jabhat al-Nusra group (an organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation), who carried out at least 28 attacks.

"In the province of Idlib, 15 attacks were recorded. In the province of Latakia: five attacks.

In the province of Aleppo: two attacks.

In the province of Hama: six attacks," Kulit said in a comment to the agency.

We will remind, according to domestic media, in the territory controlled by the coalition led by the United States, terrorist groups have become much more active.

Six-year-old girl killed, five adults wounded in Washington DC shooting
[NYPOST] A 6-year-old girl was killed and five adults hurt after someone opened fire near a Popeye’s in Washington D.C., police said.

The child was pronounced dead at Sibley Memorial Hospital, said cops, prompting Metropolitan Police Department Executive Assistant Chief Ashan Benedict to plea for the public to help "bring these shooters to justice."

"There is too much gun violence still perpetuated in this city, and too many children are being harmed — innocent children — by gunfire. So, please, help the police department, our detectives, bring those people to justice and bring some closure to the families," he said in a video posted to Twitter.

The incident unfolded just after 11 p.m. Friday. Officers heard shots ring out at the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Ave SE and Malcolm Avenue X SE, and arrived at the intersection to find the victims, including the child, three men and two women, Benedict said.

The adults had non-life threatening injuries. No arrests have been made.

If "freedom" is a dirty little word as meaningless as "hope and change," then everything upon which the United States of America has been built is dead, and if the Obama-Biden cabal running the White House find common cause with the same Castro-Guevara mass murderers who have tortured and summarily executed innocent Cubans in the name of "revolution" for sixty years, then the federal government cannot be trusted.

Pakistan army deploys troops to borders with Afghanistan
[KhaamaPress] The country’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director-General Major General Babar Iftikhar said on Saturday that the army has deployed troops to all borders with Afghanistan.

DG ISPR meanwhile added that illegal crossings with Afghanistan have been sealed and manned by border guards.

The Major General in his media briefing said that the Pakistain army has placed all security measures keeping in view the situation after the full withdrawal of the US and its allied troops from Afghanistan.

The Mighty Pak Army apparently stepped forward for the deployment of border guards as the security situation in Afghanistan has recently been worsened and the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
are now taking territories that were not in their control in past.

Iftikhar linked peace in Pakistain to peace in Afghanistan and added that the country has done much in the grinding of the peace processor of Afghanistan.

The announcement of deployment comes days after the Taliban captured a key crossing point with Pakistain in southeastern Kandahar province and video clips from the Spin Boldak-crossing point- show that the Mighty Pak Army is taking maimed Taliban fighters to hospital in Pakistain.

terrorist group’s strongholds in the north.

The Iraqi Security Information Center delivered the report on Sunday. It said the forces brought down the aircraft as it was loitering over the main police building in the city of Fallujah of the western province of al-Anbar.

Troops seized the ISIS hideouts during an operation in the northern province of Kirkuk,

which they had launched on the basis of "accurate information" that had been provided to them by the country’s interior ministry, it noted. The 5th Federal Police Division also cooperated towards the operation’s success, added the report.

It said the troops seized fatigues, logistical equipment, five improvised bombs, four armor-piercing rockets, and another drone belonging to the terrorists, during the operation.

The foreign-backed terrorist outfit started its campaign of bloodshed and destruction in Iraq in 2014.

It was defeated following three years of uphill struggle that enjoyed the assistance of the country’s allies, including Iran. The Islamic Theocratic Republic has been lending military advisory support to the Iraqi military in its operations against the group.

The terrorists, however, continue to maintain sleeper cells throughout the Iraqi soil.

The scattered grouplets reportedly number less than 10 in most cases, but are still considered to be sources of legitimate concern by Baghdad.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Russia Offered US Use of Central Asia Bases: Report
[ToloNews] Russian President Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
in June offered US counterpart Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women created ... by the — you know — you know, the thing...
the use of Russian military bases in Central Asia for information gathering from Afghanistan, Rooters reported quoting the Kommersant newspaper report from Saturday.

The Rooters report says that Putin proposed at June 16 talks with Biden in Geneva that they coordinate on Afghanistan and put Russia's bases in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to "practical use", Kommersant reported, citing sources.

The newspaper said this could involve the exchange of information obtained using drones but that there had been no concrete response from the US side.

Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Friday said the US and NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Originally it was a mutual defense pact directed against an expansionist Soviet Union. In later years it evolved into a mechanism for picking the American pocket while criticizing the cut of the American pants...
alliance withdrawal from Afghanistan made the political and military situation more uncertain, which in turn exacerbated the bad boy’s threat in the region.

Speaking at a conference with senior Central Asian officials in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, Lavrov said Russia wanted to help kickstart peace talks between the warring sides in Afghanistan.

A week ago, Russia stated its opposition to a possible plan by the United States to deploy its troops in Central Asia countries once it pulls out its troops from Afghanistan on August 31, which will also mark the end of two decades of military engagement in Afghanistan.

Lavrov said that the presence of over 100,000 US and NATO forces in Afghanistan in the past decades did not result in a victory for the US in Afghanistan and questioned what the US wants to achieve by deploying fewer numbers of troops outside.

"Separate from the collective security treaty, there are some indications that the Pentagon officials are trying to transfer their resources along (in neighboring regions) of Afghanistan in order to attack Afghanistan if needed," said the Russian foreign minister.

He said that a US military presence in Central Asia will not be helpful for regional security.

Nevertheless, the Afghan Ministry of Defense has said that international cooperation with Afghanistan is a must to help the nation combat global terrorism.

The US military mission in Afghanistan is coming to its end on August 31 as mentioned by President Joe Biden.
As the US is preparing to fully withdraw from Afghanistan by September, they are probably settling in somewhere close to the war-ravaged country to conduct monitoring of Afghanistan. Russia has come forward, probably because of its fear of a new influx of Afghan refugees into central Asia which will weaken its southern defensive wing.

Earlier, Putin had offered military support to Tajikistan to protect its borders with Afghanistan after security deteriorated in northern Afghanistan.

Though no concrete response is given by the US, the newspaper reports that the grant will too include the exchange of information gathered by drones.

Kremlin is yet to officially comment on the issue.Earlier, United States had purportedly asked Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan to let in thousands of Afghans who have worked with US troops. The offer seems solid as the US state department recently agreed that apart from 2,500 Afghan interpreters who are directly flying out to the US, thousands of others are going to be relocated to a third country.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
US drone destroys truck with food and ammo
Direct Translation via Google Translate Edited.
[ColonelCassad] According to Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin, an American strike drone destroyed a truck carrying food in Deir ez-Zor in Syria.

The food was intended for Iranian PMC units based in Abu Kemal. It is unclear in Rozhin's writing who originally reported the attack.

Regum reports that the Syrian New Agency SANA originally reported the attack.

Said SANA:

Deir Ezzor, SANA- A drone for US occupation troops targeted a truck loaded with foodstuffs on the road leading to al-Swiaiyah village in the southeastern countryside of Deir Ezzor province.

SANA reporter in Deir Ezzor said that the A US drone attacked a truck loaded with foodstuffs , which was parked on the road near al- al-Swiaiyah village in al-Bukamal area in Deir Ezzor southeastern countryside ,causing the destruction of the truck , and no casualties were reported.

Says Rozhin:

After a series of shelling of American facilities in Syria and Iraq and the destruction of vehicles from logistics convoys, the United States finally decided to brutally respond to the active actions of insolent Iranian proxies, which have completely ceased to respect the hegemon.

In a decisive response, an American attack UAV destroyed a truck in Deir ez-Zor province with food that was intended for one of the Hashd Shaabi units stationed in the area. In fact, ammunition was transported under a load of food. ”

It must be understood that the shelling of American bases will not stop, and in the next 1-3 days a response for a truck with a havchik will arrive somewhere.

In general, the usual everyday life of a hybrid war, which will continue until the United States rolls out of Iraq and Syria.

An Nahar adds:
A U.S. drone attack targeted a truck for an Iran-backed militia in eastern Syria on Sunday, destroying the vehicle without causing any casualties, two Iraqi militia officials said.

The attack came amid increasing tensions in the region between the U.S. military and Iran-backed Iraqi militias in recent weeks. The Americans have targeted Lions of Islam who used drones and rockets to hit bases housing U.S. troops.

The Iraqi militia officials refused to say what the truck was carrying. They said the U.S. drone first fired a warning shot, after which the driver jumped out, and a missile hit the vehicle shortly afterward. They said the truck belonged to Kataib Sayyid al-Shuhada, which is active along the Iraq-Syria border.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.

There was no immediate comment from the U.S. military.

Syrian state TV reported the attack saying it was carried out by American drones. It said the truck was carrying food and there were no human losses.

The Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an opposition war monitor, said the truck was carrying weapons and ammunition for an Iraqi militia and was hit shortly after crossing the border from Iraq. It claimed that the driver was killed.

Government Corruption
Straight From The Marxist Playbook: Evidence Of Election Manipulation Mounts
[Blue State Conservative] n the late 1960s and early 1970s, Marxist community organizer Saul Alinsky taught Democrats that the path to political power is not to solve society’s problems, but to exacerbate them, to use them to create an atmosphere of perpetual crisis. As Obama’s former chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, put it: "Never let a good crisis go to waste."

Democrats did not let the COVID-19 pandemic go to waste. Instead, they used the national health emergency as an excuse to implement unprecedented changes in America’s long-standing election process. One of those changes was sending millions of unrequested mail-in ballots to every dead or alive person on voter rolls, a change that opened the door to virtually unlimited opportunities for massive election fraud.

Alinsky believed that socialism is so morally and intellectually superior that its proponents must prevail at the ballot box at all costs. When the post-1960s Democratic Party adopted Alinsky as its most revered political strategist, it embraced his belief that Democrats should employ any means necessary to win elections. The primary means through which Democrats have carried out that reprehensible mandate is by election rigging.

In 2016, I began compiling a file of documented instances of suspected or actual election fraud in major Democrat strongholds. Following are partial findings of 2020 election audits in Arizona and Georgia. What appears below is but the tip of a massive iceberg of methodical election fraud just now being uncovered. Because the audit findings are so damning, Democrats are in full panic mode, and their propagandists in the once-respected mainstream media are leaving no stone unturned in attacking the audit results.

Appeals Court Agrees to Review Decision on Big Tech's Section 230 Immunity
[THEEPOCHTIMES] A little-watched civil rights case that threatens Silicon Valley's Section 230 immunity took a huge step forward on July 16, as an appeals court that rarely does so agreed to review a lower court's decision. The U.S. Appeals Court for the Second Circuit in New York agreed to review a lower court's ruling that Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (CDA) protects Big Tech companies such as Vimeo from civil rights liability in censorship cases.

Big Tech censorship became a hot button issue during the 2020 presidential campaign when then-President Donald Trump
...The man who was so stupid he beat fourteen professional politicians, a former tech CEO, and a brain surgeon for the Republican nomination in 2016, then beat The Smartest Woman in the World in the general election...
was selectively censored by Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook.

The controversy became especially heated late in the campaign when a New York Post series of news articles regarding the allegedly corrupt business dealings of President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. I'm not working for you. Don't be such a horse's ass....
's son, Hunter, was banned by the Big Tech giants.

Trump has filed a class-action lawsuit in federal court against the firms that censored him. Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) has also been the most vocal of multiple congressional conservative Republican critics of Section 230 immunity.

The case of Domen v. Vimeo came about after Vimeo, an Internet video-hosting company, terminated Church United's video streaming activities after it featured videos of five men and women who left the gay lifestyle to pursue their Christian faith. Vimeo claimed that its terms of service bar streaming videos that promote sexual orientation change therapy. Church United is led by Pastor Jim Domen.

A federal district court had previously held that Section 230 exempted firms such as Vimeo from civil liability and a three-judge panel of the Second Circuit upheld the lower court's ruling.

However,
those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things...
as a result of the July 16 decision, the panel's ruling will be reheard before the entire Second Circuit. The Second Circuit covers six federal district courts in three states, including New York, Connecticut, and Vermont.

There currently are 10 active judges on the Second Circuit, as well as 13 semi-retired senior judges.

"This ruling puts Section 230 immunity in the crosshairs of judicial review. We suspect that the en banc court recognizes that Big Tech is not exempt from state and federal civil rights laws," said attorney Robert Tyler, general counsel for the Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,-based Advocates for Faith & Freedom. His law firm, Tyler & Bursch, represents Pastor Jim Domen and the California-based Church United nonprofit.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Temple Mount violence and complaints from the usual suspects
See also a helpful explainer here.
Parents, infant child injured by rock-throwing near Jerusalem’s Damascus Gate

[IsraelTimes] Police launch search for suspects after family lightly maimed; two others hurt in separate stone-throwing incidents, amid festivities between Paleostinians and security forces.Four people, including an infant, were maimed on Sunday evening, after rocks hurled by Paleostinians hit vehicles near Jerusalem’s flashpoint Damascus Gate. A fifth person was hurt by rocks in East Jerusalem.

Police said officers were operating near Damascus Gate to disperse Paleostinians who were clashing with forces, including a group throwing rocks at passing vehicles.

Amid the rioting, a car belonging to an Israeli family driving through the area was struck with rocks. The father, mother, and their one-year-old son were lightly maimed, according to the United Hatzalah ambulance service. They were evacuated to the Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital after receiving immediate medical attention at the scene.

In a separate incident near Damascus Gate, a 33-year-old man was who hit by rocks was transported to the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in stable, pH balanced condition. United Hatzalah said the man suffered from glass shrapnel wounds in his head after a stone hit his car as he drove through the area.

Police said they had launched a search to locate the suspects.

Jerusalem’s Damascus Gate frequently sees violent mostly peaceful festivities between security forces and Paleostinians. It has also been the site of numerous stabbing and shooting attacks in recent years.

Also Sunday evening, a Paleostinian who hurled rocks at vehicles in East Jerusalem’s At-Tur neighborhood was arrested by police. Police said at least one passerby was lightly maimed after the suspect attacked his vehicle with rocks. The suspect was caught as he was throwing rocks, a spokesperson for the police said.

Earlier on Sunday, Paleostinian worshipers clashed with police on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount. Police entered the site and used sponge-tipped bullets and crowd dispersal methods to clear the area. Israel Police said that some Paleostinians threw rocks.

Jordan, Egypt, Turkey all condemn Jewish visits to Temple Mount on Tisha B’Av
Also the EU, the Palestinian Authority, Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and probably a partrige in a pear tree. But apparently Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Abraham Accorders have kept silent, showing once again that we live in the age of miracles.
[IsraelTimes] Under the 1994 peace treaty with Jordan, Israel recognized Amman as the custodian of the Temple Mount and other Moslem holy sites in the Old City. Israel captured those sites from Jordan during the 1967 Six Day War.

Anxious to reduce friction with the Moslem world, and given that Orthodox sages generally counsel against ascending the Temple Mount for fear of treading on the sacred ground where the Temple’s Holy of Holies stood, Israel since 1967 has allowed the Jordanian Waqf to maintain religious authority atop the mount.

Jews have been allowed to visit under numerous restrictions, but not to pray.

But a report on Saturday said Israel has quietly started allowing Jewish prayers on the Mount in recent months, and Prime Minister Naftali Bennett asserted Sunday that both Jews and Moslems have "freedom of worship" at the site, potentially hinting at a change in policy.

Cyber
Israeli spyware found on cellphones of journalists including at New York Times, CNN and AP, also members of royal families and politicians around world, Biden connection
Those eeeeeevil Joooos are now polluting our mobile phones after infiltrating our previously pure societies!!! At least that’s what news sites around the world are reporting. Even One India has several reports on the story today.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Software, called Pegasus, was developed by Israel's NSO group, a private firm

  • List of more than 50,000 phone numbers included journalists and politicians

  • Women on list close to murdered Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi

  • Many clients were clustered in 10 countries - Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Hungary, India, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Morocco, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

It is not clear where the list came from - or whose phones had actually been hacked.

NSO denies any wrongdoing.

It says the software is intended for use against criminals and terrorists and is made available only to military, law enforcement and intelligence agencies from countries with good human rights records.

In a statement, it said the original investigation which led to the reports, by Paris-based NGO Forbidden Stories and the human rights group Amnesty International, was "full of wrong assumptions and uncorroborated theories".

Update at 8:00 a.m. ET from Fox News:
In a Twitter thread, New York Times reporter Kenneth Vogel explained that the NSO Group had paid the company SKDK, the Democratic-aligned firm of Biden advisor Anita Dunn until late 2019.

He further explained, "NSO GROUP also paid BEACON GLOBAL STRATEGIES (a firm started by JEREMY BASH, an MSNBC analyst who served as CIA & Pentagon chief of staff under OBAMA) until early 2020, @NSOGroup told me last yr. It said @SKDK & Beacon Global ‘provided communications & business strategy advice.’"

"NSO Group has retained TOM CLARE to attack the investigation as ‘speculative & baseless.’@TAClare's boutique defamation firm @clarelockellp also has represented the Russian oligarch OLEG DERIPASKA, Project Veritas (vs the @NYTimes) & Dominion Voting Systems, among other clients," Vogel wrote.

In most countries it is used on warrant from the interior authorities.

The only people to have a problem with their private chats and anonymous interactions being scrutinized are insurgents and anti-govt people. Now, I understand this can be a problem for conservative Americans these days but it was not always so. These tools were used to great effect by the good guys in many countries. And it's not the only such system available.

Another one made by the Chinese has a nifty 'plant' feature that lets the gummint actually create digital evidence on a user's device, inserting encrypted chat or message records with suitable timestamps. It only works on Chinese social media for now, thankfully.

Nigeria: Bandits Kill Village Head, Kidnap Many in Fresh Attacks
[AllAfrica] "In our village alone, 20 people were kidnapped from their farms yesterday afternoon," says a resident of Shinkafi.

Armed bandidos have killed a village head and kidnapped at least 20 farmers in Katsina State, residents of the affected areas have reported.

Although the police and the state government have not issued statements on the incidents, local sources said Abubakar Sabon Gari, who is the village head of Lamba in Bakura local government area of the state, was killed in his house early Friday morning.

Also on Friday, bandidos also attacked the house of the Magajin Garin Shinkafi, a senior emirate councilor in Shinkafi Local Government Area.

A resident of Shinkafi, Junaidu Badarawa, said the leader of the bandidos operating from the Shinkafi forest, identified simply as Turji, had sent a letter to notify the community ahead of the attack.

"In our village alone, 20 people were kidnapped from their farms yesterday afternoon. I know some of those kidnapped.

"Turji suspected that the villagers had given the information that led to his father's arrest. Some even said when he was arrested, he was handed over to the police."

A group in the local government area, Zamfara Circle, sent a statement to this news hound, detailing the attacks.

"Summary of the carnage on Shinkafi Local Government that took place yesterday Friday, 16th July, 2021.

"(1) 20 people from Maberaya kidnapped. (2) Over 20 people from Badarawa Kware, Kurya kidnapped. (3) 1 person from Shanawa kidnapped. (4) 3 people from Shinkafi kidnapped. (5) 1 woman shot with (a) gun, hospitalised. (6) 14 cows carted away, (7) Over 10 villages displaced," the statement noted.

Another resident of the town, Salihu Guraguri, said the Magajin Gari house was attacked in the night.

"They were suspected to have used a rocket in the attack on the house," Mr Guraguri said.

He said three people working for the traditional rulers were kidnapped while a woman was left injured in the pool of her blood.

Abba Atiku, the secretary of Shinkafi Local Government Council, confirmed the attacks but said he is not competent to give details.

"I have an appointment with some journalists from the NTA this morning, I'll link you with them to get more information," he promised.

The Police spokesperson in the state, Muhammad Shehu, did not respond to several calls, nor the SMS and WhatsApp message sent to his line.

The governor's Special Adviser on Security, DIG Mamman Tsafe (RTD) also refused to comment on the attack.

Turkish intelligence cell admits of targeting headquarters in Syria's Raqqa
[NPASYRIA] Detainees of a Ottoman Turkish intelligence cell confessed that they planted bombs in the city of Raqqa and its countryside, northern Syria, targeted the headquarters of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) and sent video recordings of their operations in addition to monitoring activities for personalities in the city.

These confessions came in a file held by the Asayish forces in northeastern Syria after the arrest of three members of the cell, where North Press was able to view their details.

The story of recruiting new cell members started in 2020, when Badr Turki al- Fahl, 39, who was born in Raqqa, returned from The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire...
to Tel Abyad with the aim of returning to the city of Raqqa with his two sons, two years after his separation from his wife in Turkey.

At the beginning of the war in Syria, al- Fahl joined the Free Syrian Army
... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund...
(FSA) factions, and stated that he left it at the beginning of its control over the city of Raqqa in 2013, and left for Turkey after being imprisoned for more than four months by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS), which later took control of the city.

RECRUITMENT FOR OTTOMAN TURKISH INTELLIGENCE
In Tel Abyad, al- Fahl met Hussein Faraj al-Muhammad, who is from Raqqa, a member of the al-Sharqiya Army faction and a worker with the Ottoman Turkish intelligence, who began spending heavily on the needs of al-Fahel, his two sons and his brother, who later came to the town of Suluk in the Tel Abyad countryside.

When al-Fahl told him that he did not have money to pay those amounts, he replied that there was no problem with the date of payment, but he returned after a while and demanded $1,300 in the value of what he spent on them with the details of those amounts.

When al-Fahl, who is now detained by the Asayish forces, said that he did not have the money, he received a threat to file a complaint with the al-Sharqiya Army faction and imprison him if he did not pay what he owed, according to him.

By this way, al-Muhammad succeeded in forcing al-Fahl to join cells working with the Ottoman Turkish intelligence, who learned that some of these cells were run by a leader of the opposition factions known as Abu Shuja’.

Al-Fahl added that al-Muhammad gave him two mines and taught him how to use them, while another person drove him to the city of Raqqa, and told him to hide them until he was asked to use them all in a separate operation.

The city of Raqqa witnessed incidents of bombs and mines exploding and targeting members of the SDF, employees of the Autonomous Administration, notables and residents in the area.

Some of these operations were claimed by ISIS, while others were interpreted as remnants of war since the years of war against the turban organization.

In the Ottoman Turkish Intelligence Agency’s work report in 2020, its head, Hakan Fidan, said that the measures taken by the agency showed positive results by increasing its effectiveness in the field of foreign intelligence.

"Our agency has assumed many duties in accordance with our country’s interests in conflict areas, and has increased foreign intelligence activities," he added.

MONITORING PEOPLE AND TRANSPORTING EXPLOSIVES
Yasser Ayoub al-Abd, 20, who was born in Raqqa, had stayed in Turkey between 2013 and 2019, and worked there with his brother Saleh and his friend Badr al-Fahl in the construction work, then returned to Raqqa.

Saleh was deported from Turkey because of his tobacco smuggling work, so he returned to Raqqa, and then went to the northern countryside of Hasakah in early 2020 to join the pro-Ottoman Turkish factions.

But Saleh and al-Fahl returned to Raqqa, and offered al-Abd to work with them, asking him to start filming military points with his phone.

Al-Abd said that he first refused this because he was married and had responsibilities, but later accepted to film the Asayish headquarters and the Autonomous Administration institutions in the western part of Raqqa.

One day, Abdulkarim Ayoub al-Abd, 33, a third brother of Saleh and Yasser, was surprised when the latter entered his house carrying bombs, which he said that Saleh and al-Fahl had asked him to hide them in the house.

The two brothers decided to hide the explosives under the dirt outside, but the hard soil was difficult to dig, which made them afraid to reveal themselves, so they hid them inside the oven in the yard of the house.

Abu Shuja’, the coordinator between the members of the cell and the Ottoman Turkish intelligence, used to identify the targets and request monitoring of people after sending their photos and the locations of their homes to al-Fahl, who was filming the monitoring process and the targeting operations, and then sending them to him.

However,
Caliphornia hasn't yet slid into the ocean, no matter how hard it's tried...
the Asayish forces arrested his brothers, so he took his children and headed to the city of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), "in order to get rid of the demands of the members in Tel Abyad," he said during his confessions.

When al-Fahl entered Sere Kaniye on a cycle of violence with his two sons, the Ottoman Turkish checkpoint noticed that there was no license plate on his bike, so the officers referred him to the second checkpoint which discovered that he did not hold the ID card issued by the pro-Ottoman Turkish local council in the city.

Al-Fahl’s referral to a faction’s security branch prompted him to call Abu Shuja’, who had asked him to hide in Raqqa after his brothers’ arrest, and after blaming him for leaving without permission, he sent someone from the factions to receive him with a sum of $500.

TARGETING HEADQUARTERS AND PLANTING MINES
A few days later, Abu Shuja’ called back to ask about a second mine which was with him. He told him that he had thrown it into the river before he fled.

Abu Shuja’ added $800 as the price for the mine that was thrown in the river to al-Fahl’s debts, which began to multiply.

"He told me you would pay $2600 tomorrow. I said I do not have it. He said, send $2,500," al-Fahl said.

"He started threatening me, ’You are a traitor who must be liquidated. We send you a mine and you either throw it or detonate it in ruins’," he added.

Days later, al-Fahl was asked to take mines to Raqqa.

"He said, either you have to work or pay your debts."

Al-Fahl took a mine to the al-Shanina area, 20 km north of Raqqa, filmed the process of laying it and sent the film.

The mechanism of the action requires attaching the film to the date and the targeted area with a special code for Abu Shuja’, whose true identity is not identified by the cell members, according to al-Fahl’s confessions.

The next operation was targeting the Asayish headquarters in Raqqa.

"They sent me the location of the launcher. Saleh was with me. We found it with two fillings and four grenades. We hit the building at dawn with a shell and bravely ran away."

The other operation was placing a bomb and detonating it when a military vehicle passed by. I was the executor and Yasser had to film it.

"In the Panorama neighborhood, southwestern Raqqa, it did not explode. He took it to al-Basel Street, western Raqqa, and it also did not explode because the two bombs were defective," Yasser said.

Al-Fahl was asked to bury the two devices in a specific location with an bomb attached, and film it for sending.

There, he was arrested, to lure Yasser, in agreement with the Asayish, to arrest him also in the Jawad Anzour park in the city.

A patrol went to bring Abdulkarim, who was waiting for Yasser to return after delivering the explosives to al-Fahl.

Afghanistan
Republic-Taliban Talks in Doha Continue for 2nd Day
[ToloNews] The talks between high-ranking delegations from the Islamic Theocratic Republic of Afghanistan and the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
continued for the second day in Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
and focused on key demands of both sides.

Abdullah Abdullah
...the former foreign minister of the Northern Alliance government, advisor to Masood, and candidate for president against both Karzai and Ghani. Dr. Abdullah was born in Kabul and is half Tadjik and half Pashtun. He also held the meaningless salaried sop position as CEO of Afghanistan, while Ghani was president...
, head of the High Council for National Reconciliation, who chairs the Republic team in the talks said he expects a "positive and constructive" outcome from the talks.

Sources familiar with the matter said that in this latest round the Taliban has insisted on the release of 7,000 prisoners and the removal of its leaders’ names from the UN blacklist, and the Republic delegation has emphasized the need for a roadmap for peace in Afghanistan.

The meeting between the 7-member Republic team led by Abdullah Abdullah, and the 7-member Taliban delegation led by Abdul Ghani Baradar, the deputy leader of the group, was held behind closed doors.

"The presence of a mediator in the negotiations, political participation and other matters were the main topics of discussion," said the reconciliation council’s front man Fraidoon Khwazoon. "Today, too, the negotiations will continue and we will issue a statement at the end."

The State Ministry for Peace Affairs said an effort will be made to find ways to expedite peace efforts.

"We expect that as a result of these talks the Taliban will stop the massacre of the people and show an active presence at the negotiating table," said Mohammad Amiri, a presidential front man.

Taliban leader Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada in an Eid message on Sunday emphasized the need for a political solution to the Afghan crisis.

He mentioned the Taliban's takeover of districts but said the group's support for a political solution is "serious."

"The Taliban does not see consensus within the government. They don’t see a clear plan. Back in Kabul, there is a lack of clear plan. This is where the Taliban can gain more advantage (in the talks)," said Abdul Ahad Sar Tayyib, an analyst.

"Based on the knowledge I have about the Taliban, I don’t think the Doha meeting will have an outcome," said Zahir Salangi, an MP from Parwan.

Hibatullah’s message reads that the two sides are still wasting the opportunity for peace. He reiterates that the Taliban is committed to freedom of speech within the framework of Islamic orders and national interests of the country. He asks journalists to adjust their activities based on these two points.

But the acting minister of information and culture, Qasim Wafaeezada, said on Sunday that some radio stations have changed to a "tool for Taliban propaganda" in areas under their influence.

"You know and have information that Maiwand Radio in Shindand (district in Herat
...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns...
) has changed into radio sharia and only airs Taliban’s messages," he said. "Radio Paiman in Baghlan, Radio Sima-e-Solkh in Samangan, Radio Nawbahar in Balkh, Radio Jaihoon in Kunduz are the networks that with the arrival of Taliban, their female workers have been dismissed, their activities have been prevented, and have turned into Taliban radio by putting pressure on them," he said.

Akhundzada has pledged that the Taliban will work to protect embassies, foreign organizations and investors. He has said that no one will be allowed to pose threat to other countries from Afghanistan.

Khaama Press saw the same thing differently:
Second day of Doha talks, negotiators to discuss armistice, political settlement

A new and promising round of peace talks in the Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. i capital Doha commenced yesterday and will be wound up today for which ceasefire and political settlement are said to be the agenda.

High Council of National Reconciliation (HCNR) said that a 14-member committee is busy talking since yesterday and will reportedly reach an agreement today.

The committee includes seven members from either side-the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
and the Afghan government.

The final day of intra-afghan talks will be focused on a mediator for the previous intra-afghan talks, ceasefire, and political settlement said a spokesperson of HCNR.

Sources aware from the intra-afghan peace talks say that the Taliban will most probably agree upon a ceasefire for coming Eid and reduction in violence by the end of today.

The two-day intra-afghan talks were inaugurated by the head of Afghan government delegation Abdullah Abdullah
...the former foreign minister of the Northern Alliance government, advisor to Masood, and candidate for president against both Karzai and Ghani. Dr. Abdullah was born in Kabul and is half Tadjik and half Pashtun. He also held the meaningless salaried sop position as CEO of Afghanistan, while Ghani was president...
and head of the Taliban political office Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar in Doha yesterday.

Former president Hamid Maybe I'll join the Taliban Karzai
...A product, and probably the sole product, of the Southern Alliance...
who was initially part of the Afghan government delegation said the team is most powerful in terms of authority.

Members of both negotiating teams in Doha admit that the two-day talks will resume the stalled intra-afghan talks which started almost a year ago.
