[PJMedia] Four economists at the Federal Reserve say the high rate of inflation in the United States compared to the rest of the world is due to the COVID-19 stimulus checks given to Americans during the pandemic. The direct payments to American citizens enlarged the money supply enormously and overheated the economy.
Larry Summers, the Harvard economist and former Treasury Secretary, has been warning about this almost since Joe Biden took his oath of office. Summers believes that massive government pandemic spending — including stimulus checks — has put too much cash into circulation while the pent-up demand from the pandemic isn’t catching up to supply.
Supply chain bottlenecks don’t help. But how bad would they have been if far more modest and targeted pandemic relief had been proposed?
Now we have the war in Ukraine effectively shutting off one-quarter of the world’s supply of grain. Food prices are going to skyrocket, and it’s going to hurt everyone.
But why is it so much worse here?
"Inflation rates in the United States and other developed economies have closely tracked each other historically," the economists write in an analysis published this week. "However, since the first half of 2021, U.S. inflation has increasingly outpaced inflation in other developed countries. Estimates suggest that fiscal support measures designed to counteract the severity of the pandemic’s economic effect may have contributed to this divergence."
Inflation in the U.S. hit an annualized rate of 7.9 percent in February (data for March will be released by the Bureau for Labor Statistics next week), a 40-year high. Meanwhile, inflation in similar countries like France (3.6 percent), Germany (5.1 percent), and the United Kingdom (5.5 percent) is significantly lower, according to data from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), a consortium of 38 rich-world governments. (Across the OECD as a whole, the average annual inflation rate is about the same as the U.S., but that’s due to the influence of outliers like Argentina—where prices are up over 52 percent in the past 12 months.)
Prices in the Unites States are rising faster than almost anywhere else. "Throughout 2020 and 2021, U.S. households experienced significantly higher increases in their disposable income relative to their OECD peers," the economists write.
In fact, the U.S. inflation rate climbed by 3.58 percentage points — a larger change from the third quarter in 2019 to the third quarter of 2020 than in all but two of the 46 nations included in the study. More money chasing a limited supply of items, who could have seen such a spike?

"It was an attention-grabbing assertion that made headlines around the world: U.S. officials said they had indications suggesting Russia might be preparing to use chemical agents in Ukraine.
President Biden later said it publicly. But three U.S. officials told NBC News this week there is no evidence Russia has brought any chemical weapons near Ukraine. They said the U.S. released the information to deter Russia from using the banned munitions."

Quite honestly I couldn't care less about either party. My interests are aligned with my own nation. And against the globalists. Vlad may be an asset, a true product of the vicious komitet gosudarstvenoy bezopasnosti. All I know is NATO must be challenged, the west's ability to obstruct sovereign nations's economic development curbed, and that bastard Soros denied at every turn. If I have to ally with the devil to do that I would.
No, don't throw me the tinfoil hat, I know I'm right.

[CBS] The IRS could wipe out its massive backlog of returns by the end of the year, IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig said Thursday. His optimistic prognosis comes as millions of people are still waiting for the overburdened agency to process returns from past tax filing seasons and send their refunds, even as the IRS entered a new tax filing season.
The IRS still had 23 million items in its backlog to get through heading into this year's tax filing season, as it struggled to overcome hurdles exacerbated by the coronavirus pandemic. Earlier this year, the Taxpayer Advocate wrote in her report the IRS was in a crisis. Treasury and IRS officials warned this could be the most challenging tax filing season for taxpayers and preparers to date.
Rettig appeared before the House Ways and Means committee Thursday for a hearing on the tax filing season. He said the agency will "absolutely" make it through the backlog before the end of 2022.
"If the world stays as it is as of today, we will be what we call healthy by the end of calendar year '22, and enter the '23 filing season with normal inventories — healthy through the eyes of the taxpayer," Rettig said.
The Treasury Department and IRS announced last week a plan to catch up on the pandemic-related backlog this year. The effort includes the hiring of 10,000 IRS employees over the next year, including 5,000 in the next few months. The IRS has also been granted more hiring authority, allowing the agency to get new employees in the door more quickly. Previously, the onboarding process took as many as six to eight months, Rettig said, but with their new abilities, employees could be onboarded in 30 to 35 days.

Rettig said: “We are currently running around 19 to 20 percent level of service.”

[IsraelTimes] Army chief Kohavi instructs military to focus operations on towns from which recent forces of Evil came; Tel Aviv attacker said to have crossed gap in barrier near Umm al-Fahm
Israel Defense Forces chief Aviv Kohavi on Friday said the military will ramp up activities in the northern West Bank, following several deadly terror incidents involving Paleostinians from the Jenin region and as officials reportedly believe the Paleostinian Authority is losing control of the area. Speaking to soldiers at the Ofer military base, Kohavi said he believes security challenges will remain for many days to come and hinted at an operation in Jenin.
"If we are going to clash with the forces of Evil anyway, I prefer it be in Jenin," Kohavi said, according to Channel 13. The city is located in the northern West Bank close to the border with Israel.
Channel 13 said Israeli forces may be preparing for an operation in the northern West Bank as soon as this weekend.
Earlier on Friday, Kohavi instructed the IDF to expand and increase offensive operations in the West Bank, especially in northern towns from which recent forces of Evil came.
The button men who carried out the deadly attacks in Bnei Brak last month and Tel Aviv on Thursday came from the Jenin area.
Last week, Israeli troops attempted to arrest a team of forces of Evil on its way to an attack. Three Islamic Jihad ...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah... members were killed in the ensuing firefight near Jenin and four Israeli soldiers were maimed.
According to the Kan public broadcaster, the Paleostinian Authority is being challenged for control of the area around Jenin by both the Islamic Jihad terror group and members of Fatah, the Paleostinian faction ostensibly led by PA President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas ...aka Abu Mazen, a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial. While no Yasser Arafat, he has his own brand of evil, just a little more lowercase.... Israeli officials want the PA to crack down on terror in the area, but fear it will not be able to, according to Friday news reports.
Kohavi also ordered the military to ramp up defensive operations in the "seam zone" border area along the Green Line separating Israel and the West Bank.
Kohavi told soldiers on Friday night that the terrorist who carried out Thursday’s terror shooting in Tel Aviv, Ra’ad Hazem, crossed into Israel through a gap in the barrier.
Officials suspect Hazem was driven from Jenin to the northern Israeli town of Umm al-Fahm
... base of the outlawed Northern Branch of the Islamic Movement, the militant arm of the Israeli branch of the Muslim Brotherhood....
through a gap in the fence, and from there took a bus to Tel Aviv to carry out the attack, according to Hebrew media reports.
The suspect who drove Hazem is known to security forces, Ynet said.
Uh oh. Someone’s in trouble...
There are many gaps in the West Bank barrier, and the IDF has dispatched thousands of troops in recent weeks to the seam zone area to prevent Paleostinians from crossing into Israel. Kohavi told the troops that the attacker should not have been able to cross into Israel and that it is the IDF’s responsibility to prevent such border infiltrations.
On Friday, troops thwarted an attempt to smuggle an M16 assault rifle and ammunition from the West Bank into Israel near the northern city of Tulkarm.
Channel 12 said security forces were looking into the possibility that other people knew about Hazem’s plan to carry out a terror attack and did not act to stop him. At the moment though, the belief of the security establishment was that Hazem acted alone using a pistol he acquired in the West Bank.
The Shin Bet had in the past declined to grant Hazem an entry permit, but he had a thorough knowledge of Tel Aviv and the neighboring Arab-majority city of Jaffa after entering Israel illegally on a number of previous occasions, reports said.
Senior security officials told the Walla news site that Hazem had crossed into Israel through a hole in the security barrier near Jenin, even though the military recently fortified the fence in that area.
Hazem suffered from a limp, which could be seen in security camera footage in the moments before the attack. He was shot in the leg during an incident in the West Bank several years ago, but the reason, nature and Hazem’s role in the incident remained unclear.
The Shin Bet said earlier Friday that he had "no clear organizational affiliation, no security background and no previous arrests," but security officials had previously known Hazem as being a hacker, reports said.
His father, Fathi Hazem, is a former security prisoner who previously served as an officer in the Paleostinian Authority’s security services in Jenin.
[IsraelTimes] Thursday night’s terror attack has drawn several comparisons to a similar attack at a bar just down the street in 2016, in which Arab Israeli man Nashat Milhelm opened fire on the Simta pub, and then escaped back to his home in Wadi Ara within hours. Two people were killed at the pub, and Milhelm also killed a taxi driver as he fled.
He was eventually found in his hometown of Arara after a week-long manhunt. In contrast, shooter Ra’ad Hazem was found just 10 hours after the shooting, hiding out in nearby Jaffa.
Channel 12 news reports that Hazem also planned on escaping home, in his case to the West Bank, but was stymied by a decision to set up checkpoints on roads leading out of Tel Aviv toward the West Bank or northern Israel. Instead, he was shot and killed in a shootout with forces outside a Jaffa mosque.
According to Kan, Hazem did not visit the mosque before the shooting, but went straight to Tel Aviv, where he walked around before eventually carrying out the attack. Earlier reports had indicated he had been there before the attack.
[israelTimes] Move comes just weeks after Tehran said it set up another site for producing centrifuges in Isfahan, where UN watchdog doesn’t have access to data collected by its cameras.
Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites.... has shifted all the centrifuge production equipment from a nuclear site allegedly targeted by Israel to the underground Natanz facility, according to a Wednesday report.
Citing a statement from ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency, Rooters said the move came just six weeks after Tehran had established another site at Isfahan equipped with the machines required to produce centrifuges.
In February, Iran informed the UN nuclear watchdog it had stopped production at the Karaj workshop after the site was allegedly struck last June in an Israeli "sabotage" operation.
Tehran initially refused to allow IAEA inspectors into the site to replace the cameras damaged in the alleged attack, but in December struck an agreement with the watchdog and new cameras were installed.
Weeks later, however, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said the agency was informed by Tehran of its intention "to produce centrifuge rotor tubes and bellows at a new location in Isfahan."
Grossi noted the IAEA "could adjust its surveillance and monitoring measures accordingly."
"A few days later, Agency inspectors applied seals on all the relevant machines in the Karaj workshop, placed them under containment and then removed the surveillance cameras installed there," he said at the time.
And on January 24, IAEA inspectors set up cameras at a site in Isfahan "to ensure the machines intended for the production of centrifuge rotor tubes and bellows were under monitoring," the UN watchdog said.
But the IAEA does not currently have access to the data collected by its cameras at the new Isfahan workshop under the agreement with Tehran, and not much is known about the site in Isfahan.
"Without access to the data and recordings collected by these cameras, the agency is unable to confirm whether the production of centrifuge components at the workshop in Isfahan has begun," the report sent out Wednesday to IAEA member states said.
Last April, the Natanz nuclear facility experienced a mysterious blackout that damaged some of its centrifuges. In 2020, unexplained fires struck the advanced centrifuge assembly plant at the site, which authorities later described as sabotage. Iran has said it was rebuilding the facility deep inside a nearby mountain.

[IsraelTimes] Waqf estimates around 80,000 Paleostinians worshiped at Jerusalem holy site; several dozen chant pro-Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw, slogans; additional forces deployed in city after Tel Aviv terror attack
Tens of thousands of Paleostinians attended afternoon prayers at the Temple Mount for the first Friday of the Moslem holy month of Ramadan, as Israeli security forces were on high alert in Jerusalem following the deadly terror attack in Tel Aviv the night before.
Many West Bank Paleostinians crossed into Israel to pray at the holy site on Friday morning, in accordance with relaxed restrictions on movement during Ramadan.
A Waqf official said around 80,000 worshippers prayed at the al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount, a significantly lower number than usual.
"During a normal Ramadan Friday, we would expect to see as many as 200,000," Azzam al-Khatib said in a phone call.
Khatib said fewer worshippers arrived from the West Bank than expected, although he declined to comment further as to why.
"Some people were scared to come, because of what happened yesterday, and we were worried they’d close off the West Bank. But they’re here, praise God," said Adam, an East Jerusalem Paleostinian who works at a shop in the Old City.
The prayers ended peacefully, though tension in the air was palpable following Thursday’s terror shooting in Tel Aviv, with both police and IDF deploying additional forces across Jerusalem.
Many coppers were deployed around Damascus Gate, where daily festivities have erupted between Paleostinians and security forces since the start of Ramadan last weekend. Fences tightly directed the tide of worshippers out of the plaza as Border Police look on.
As the majority of Paleostinian worshippers left the Old City, several dozen remained on the Temple Mount, chanting pro-Hamas slogans.
"Put sword next to sword, we’re Mohammad Deif’s men," the Paleostinians chant, referring to the Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. [Dawn] Two suspected bandidosgunnies belonging to a banned outfit have been killed in a heavy exchange of fire with security forces in the Singi area of Mashkey in Awaran district.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday, security forces conducted an operation on information about the presence of bandidosgunnies in the Lebanon Hezbollahstan ...The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers, a practice dating back to the heady days of human sacrifice to Baal Moloch... Singi area near Mashkey between the night of April 7 and 8.
Security forces seized illegal arms and ammunition, which were intended to be used for disrupting peace and security in the area.
During the operation, Lance Havaldar Raj Wali Khan and Sepoy Osama Khan embraced martyrdom, while one officer got injured in the exchange of fire.
The ISPR said when troops started taking positions in the area, the bandidosgunnies tried to escape from their hideout and opened fire on the security forces.
"Terrorists belonging to BLF [Baloch Liberation Front] have been killed in the ensuing heavy exchange of fire," the ISPR said, adding that these bandidosgunnies were involved in different incidents in Awaran district and its surrounding areas.
[AlAhram] Egyptian security forces have arrested a 60-year-old man who reportedly stabbed a Coptic archpriest to death in the city of Alexandria on Thursday evening.
Arsanios Wadid, the Priest of the Church of the Virgin Mary and Mar Boulos in the Karmouz neighbourhood of the Meharam Bek district, the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria said on its Facebook page.
Wadid, 56, was transported to Mostafa Kamel Military Hospital in Sidi Gaber neighbourhood, but he departed this vale of tears, the church said.
Investigations are underway to disclose the stabber’s identity and motives, the church added.
"The church eulogises this blessed father who committed his life to God, and gave his life today to him in an honest martyrdom," it said.
The victim was stabbed with a knife while walking along the Mediterranean Corniche in the Sidi Bishr district, according to statement by the Ministry of Interior.
Wadid, born in 1966, was ordained to the priesthood in 1995 by the late Pope Shenouda III, the former head of the Coptic Orthodox Church.
[AlAhram] The church held the funeral for the 56-year-old Wadid at Saint Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Alexandria.
On Thursday, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Sheikh Ahmed El-Tayyeb condemned the crime and presented his condolences to the victim's family, the Coptic Orthodox Church and Egyptian Christians.
[Rudaw] Around 450 Iraqi families with affiliation to the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS) have been transferred out of al-Hol camp in northeast Syria, an Iraqi official told Rudaw on Friday, adding that the transferred families will need to go through rehabilitation programs before they’re sent back to their original places of residence in the country.
"The number of families that have been transferred from the al-Hol camp is around 450. Around 8,000 families numbering 31,000 individuals remain in al-Hol camp," the spokesperson of Iraq’s ministry of migration and displaced, Ali Abbas, told Rudaw on Friday.
Iraqis have made up more than half of the population of the notorious al-Hol camp in northeast Syria (Rojava) for years, most of them wives and children of suspected ISIS fighters, more than half of whom are under the age of 18. In January, the United Nations ...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks... Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) put the population of the camp at 56,000.
Abbas added that the families would first be transferred to al-Jada camp in Nineveh province where they would be subjected to rehabilitation programs, before being sent back to their original places of residence. The families are returned on the basis of bails from relatives and tribal elders.
Mainly under federal Iraqi control, al-Jada houses families with suspected links to ISIS. Last December, Iraqi authorities announced their intention to close the camp, but have faced difficulties in this so far.
The programs, conducted by the camp’s directorate and in coordination with international organizations, are mainly aimed at children, women, and the elderly. Nonetheless, all the individuals in the camp must pass a variety of health, social, and psychological rehabilitation programs in order to be sent home, according to Abbas.
Two orphaned British children were returned to the UK from camps in northeast Syria, Save the Children said on Wednesday.

[THEFEDERALIST] Republicans are turning against the corporations that are telling the country what to do on everything from election security to education. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has been exemplary in his response to Disney trying to bully the state over a new law that, among other things, restricts classroom discussions of sexual orientation and gender identity for young children. DeSantis has not only pushed back rhetorically, but has also suggested eliminating some of the special treatment Disney gets from the state.
As Biden continues to fail, Republicans will lambast Democrats for caring more about pushing culture war radicalism (e.g., transitioning kids without telling their parents) than addressing crime and inflation. Big Business could easily become another Republican target as class war and culture war merge. It was, after all, the fight over the Florida law that really pushed Disney’s efforts to "queer children" out into the open. And there are plenty of other targets, such as the Big Tech companies that censor the news, ban conservatives, and prey on children.
As conservatives wonder why they should protect corporations that hate them and their values, the corporate alliance with the Left is still tenuous. The Bernie Bros may not be done with the Democrats just yet.
Although many on the left have been satisfied by Big Business joining their side of the culture war, there are still constituencies on the left for anti-corporate politics. Indebted, left-leaning college graduates who can’t get good jobs may decide that woke capital is still too capitalist. Workers may not be quiet just because they are now oppressed by an LGBT CEO or having their salaries and benefits squeezed by a racially diverse corporate board.
Furthermore, a corporation that is woke enough to satisfy the internal mob will tend to creep normal people out, as Disney’s entry into the Florida fight shows. Disney isn’t going to go broke anytime soon, but leaked videos of Disney leadership discussing how they promote LGBT ideology and identities to children are going to cost it some customers.
This sort of radicalism may also alienate workers, especially given the propensity of woke ideology to induce bloat and incompetence. Just look at universities, where an ever-expanding array of diversity staffers rake in cash while actual teaching is mostly done by underpaid adjuncts and graduate assistants. Businesses have followed suit — diversity, equity, and inclusion consulting is worth billions of dollars a year, and even sympathetic coverage cannot hide that it is mostly a racket.
Thus, although corporate wokeness is rarely immediate suicide, it may still be toxic in the long run, alienating non-woke customers and employees. And as Republicans adjust to having Big Business as a foil, rather than an ally, corporate activism may lose its potency.
There are concerns on the left that Democrats have become too reliant on corporate power to win in the culture war. Republicans around the country could win a lot of political victories, and enact a lot of popular conservative policies, while left-wing salaried workers in Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, protest and demand that their employers do something about what is happening in, say, Florida.
The allure of going woke was obvious; it placates left-wing employees, plays well in the social class that business leaders belong to, and buys political goodwill from Democrats. It allows CEOs, investment bankers, and the professional-managerial class that serves them to pose as the good guys even while being ruthlessly greedy. It seemed, in short, like it was all for the best — so long as Republicans remained quiescent.
But conservatives may be less subservient to business interests than expected. That miscalculation could end up costing woke capital dearly, with Wall Street and Big Business taking fire from all sides.

Yup, thoroughly matches what I thought about business interests, and attempts by businesses to dominate Conservatives. We conservatives should make every effort to whip the likes of woke businesses - Disney - Big Tech - and their ilk back into shape.
I think all the Conservative Single Ladies, Mothers and Grandmothers should dress for the occasion (not unlike what the "pu--y girls" did against Trump) and lead the charge against the woke companies. As a shareholder (it only takes 1 share) they have the right to petition against the direction the publicly traded company is on, and the potential jeopardy and financial injury to the stockholders the company's polices may make to the bottom line.

[KP] - Is your phone turned off? - ask the gunners at the positions of self-propelled artillery mounts.
- You offend, - I show the airplane icon on the screen - airplane mode.
- We even pulled out sim cards just in case. The Americans stuffed them with all sorts of fashionable devices. Calculate at a time.
Nearby, the fighters are puffing at the KamAZ - they are changing a punctured tire. Recently, a Hurricane cluster munition flew into position, slightly shaking the trucks. This roving multiple launch rocket launcher has been rattling nerves for days now.
Either Izyum will cover, then they will “throw” on the positions. Constantly moves and manages to get away from return fire. Of course, one "Hurricane" cannot undermine the combat capability of the Russian troops. Moreover, judging by the single launches, there is not much ammunition on the other side.
- To the trench! Fast! - cluster munitions begin to burst in the sky, we pour ourselves into a prudently dug shelter in advance. – Again he!
It subsides. We get to the surface. Long-range artillery changes location. "Saushki" (self-propelled artillery mounts) begin to hit the positions of Ukrainian troops, which slowly roll back to the south, along the Kharkiv-Slavyansk highway. The main efforts of the Russian troops in this direction are now focused on moving towards the city - a symbol of Russian resistance in Donbass in 2014. And there will definitely not be an easy walk here.
- They work smart. If they see that it is pointless to defend themselves, they roll back to previously prepared positions, the scouts of the Vistula division tell me.
- If the next echelon of defense is not yet ready, then they will resist to the last, as here, in Kamenka. They have these Javelins and NLAWs (anti-tank missile systems) here, like a grandmother of pickles in the cellar. At each hut, at each crossroads, they were simply piled up. They ran up, pulnuli - and into the basement. Moreover, Javelins in most cases do not penetrate the armor of our tanks. So they hit the guns and rollers. And snipers - on sights. And what is a tank without an aiming system?
HERO WARRIORS
Kamenka itself today differs little from Nikishino in the Donetsk region, or Khryashchevaty in the Luhansk region in 2014. All the villages, through which the war swept in full force, are similar to each other. When almost every house has been turned into a firing point, there is no time for sentimentality.
Both sides are thinking about how to complete the task and survive, and not about the safety of the civilian sector. Although the Russian side is still trying to maintain a peaceful infrastructure. But the Ukrainians, as if in retaliation, retreating, burns all the bridges behind her. Both literally and figuratively. After all, we got here by a pontoon ferry, built instead of a blown-up bridge.
- You are talking about doctors, write about our heroes! - the soldiers of the Vistula division, operating in this direction, meet us. How many people have they saved?
The commander of the second medical platoon, as befits a real hero, modestly reports:
- The fighting here was heavy, the number of sanitary losses was greater - mine-blast injuries, shrapnel wounds, penetrating, blind, through. They provided assistance, evacuated to a helipad and then to hospitals in Russia.
- This is your first war, what hooked you the most? I ask the young paramedic standing next to me.
- A lot of comrades were killed. And so ... Well, it was not in vain that I was taught medical science, I was prepared for everything. I calculated everything, understood what I was doing point by point.
TROPHY TANK
For many of these young guys, Kamenka has become a baptism of fire. Here they looked death in the eyes for the first time in their lives. They were able to survive and even show ingenuity in battle. The scouts are calling to show their main trophy - the T-72B tank, which they took without a single shot. It already flaunts tactical signs "Z".
- They went to us, - says a young Caucasian officer. - At first they wanted to “blow it out” with an RPG. But I took off my Russian equipment, I went up to the tank, the commander was riding in the hatch.
I start to improvise: “Sanya, hello! Where is Leha? He relaxed, completely crawls out, the gunner too. I jump on a tank with a peam (Makarov pistol): everyone, come on, guys, get out. We arrived. "Don't shoot!" they shout. Threw them out of the tank, the mechanic had to be smoked out. So they took the car.
HOW "ANTI RUSSIA" HAS BEEN TEMPERED
The fighters lay out other trophies - grenade launchers, a machine gun and ... books.
- Look what they read - "Invasion of Ukraine: a chronicle of Russian aggression." Edition 2016. Did you know beforehand?
- Where did you get it? I ask the guy.
- In the club, let's go and take you.
We get to know each other along the way. Lekha is a 19-year-old mobilized from the LPR, a resident of Lugansk. In 2014-15, during active battles in the Donbass, he did not leave the city anywhere and imagines what artillery shelling is. Studied in the second year of a local ped. I decided not to run from mobilization. Lyokha leads me to the second floor - to the library. To find a book in Russian, you have to work hard.
The bulk of the reading is on the move. And what's not here. "Airport" - about the Ukrainian "cyborgs" who fought at the Donetsk airport. "Anexia" - about the Crimea. There are more exotic options - here is a thick volume “Ukraine. Chronology of development - from ancient times to late antiquity. Or, for example, "The Wars of Russia against Ukraine in the XII-XXI centuries."
Here you have the "expansion" of Muscovy to the lands of Kievan Rus, and "special military operations" against the Hetmanate, and the struggle with Bolshevik Russia for independence in 1917-1921, and the struggle for the independence of Ukraine in 1941-mid-1950s ... And this pseudo-scientific slag filled half the library. If suddenly someone else had questions about how the Anti-Russia project was formed. And these books were published not somewhere in Poland, but in Kyiv, in Lvov, in the Poltava region ... True, judging by the empty library insert, such works were not very popular in Kamenka.
- But they are driven in all this at school, - Lech complains. “Something had to be done about it sooner or later.
We say goodbye to the peasants, they go further, to where the front rumbles continuously, continuing to approach Slavyansk.

The mounting pressure exerted on ISIS terrorist groups sheltering in enclaves on the outskirts of Diyala, Saladin, and Kirkuk, has incited administrative disputes inside these groups, a senior Peshmerga officer revealed on Friday.
The Deputy Commander of the Peshmerga's 2nd axis (Qara Tappa-Hemrin), Major-General Muhammad Rustom, told Shafaq News Agency, "the members of the terrorist groups engaged in conflicts over leadership inside the so-called 'Wilayas' (Provinces), following the beating the remnants of the terrorist organization have been getting at the Peshmerga axes."
"The Peshmerga have been tracking the heatmap of ISIS inside its jurisdiction: the peril of ISIS has been limited to small groups and even individuals."
"We have not registered abductions inside our territory," the Peshmerga commander said, "the terrorist group attempted to depict a dispute between Arab and Kurd shepherds over the frontiers of Kurdistan-Saladin as a proof of their activity there."

[NavalNews] On the first day of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Russian warships appeared off a small rock in the Black Sea. Snake Island was, it turned out, minimally defended. But it is strategically located and could potentially provide intelligence to Ukrainian forces about shipping in the area. And taking the island could be symbolic of Russia’s expected victory.
History will remember the reaction of the defenders. Border guard Roman Hrybov famously replied to demands to surrender “Russian warship, go F*** yourself!“. The warship sitting off the island was none other than Moskva, the most powerful warship in the Black Sea.
A Slava class cruiser, Moskva is imposing in both size and armament. She is also, naturally, the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet. Once the island was taken, and Moskva settled in to a wartime routine. Read the rest at the link

[IBTIMES.SG] The 28-year-old victim, whose identity has not been revealed, had just flown in from Salt Lake City and was looking for a cab when Fernando Avila Hernandez, pretending to be an Uber driver and offered to give her a ride to her hotel, NBC Miami reported Thursday.
Hernandez then dropped the woman off at a hotel where she alerted the hotel's staff members about the alleged attack. The suspect was later arrested after cops examined surveillance footage and recognized him from an unrelated incident.
Uber told NBC that Hernandez has not worked for them since 2021 and was not authorized to pick up fares. Hernandez is now facing multiple sex raps. His attorney, Bijan Sebastian Parwaresch, told NBC that his client was innocent. "We're highly objecting to the notion of an unconsensual sexual encounter," he said.
A novel defense.

I know that there had to be some kind of meeting, likely on Zoom, in which her hiring would have been pitched by a person who was excited about the idea to other people who enthusiastically approved the hiring on some rationale. I just can't fathom what could be said to convince people to do stuff that reduces their Market Cap by 20% with one gesture.
I have never been to Business School. Maybe they teach that in an elective that all the executives take because it's easy and doesn't require essays.

[RIA] Recently, a fashion has appeared in the West for direct appeals to the Russian people, sometimes using clumsy Russian-language phrases. This tradition was founded a couple of weeks ago by Arnold Schwarzenegger, and in recent days has been creatively developed by the British media and Prime Minister Boris Johnson personally. The Daily Mirror newspaper even came out with the Russian-language headline "You Need to Know" on the front page. This is not counting the regular inclusions of such appeals to the Russians in the daily televised addresses of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
All authors of fiery speeches constantly proceed from one postulate: the inhabitants of Russia are deprived of the opportunity to receive "the truth about the events in Ukraine."
Compare here:
—Arnold Schwarzenegger : "I am writing to you today because events are taking place in the world that are being hidden from you."
—Daily Mirror: "Dear Russian friend. We are writing to you because we want you to know the truth about the war in Ukraine ... But we also know that there is no free press in Russia and you are being fed lies about the war in Ukraine every day."
—Boris Johnson : "Russians deserve the truth . You deserve to know the facts."
That is, they seriously decided there that the citizens of Russia are cut off from world news and, as in the good old days, they still listen to foreign "voices" through tube radios, trying to catch the sound that sometimes breaks through the "jammers". How badly they know our people and understand the situation in Russia!
This was clearly confirmed by Johnson, who imagines himself to be Prometheus, carrying secret knowledge about "fire" to the Russian people - in this case, about the mysterious abbreviation VPN. And how, one wonders, before Boris, we could guess about such a miracle of modern technology? If necessary, our people are ready to share this knowledge with the British, we do not mind.
I would like to remind Western critics who have suddenly "beloved the Russian people" that it is not Russia that has begun to turn on the "jammers", as it was during the Cold War. It is in the West, contrary to all their fairy tales about "freedom of speech" and their own laws, that they mercilessly began to clean up the information space from the Russian media and even from social media users who sympathize with Russia, who were branded with a single label "Kremlin propaganda". And our measures were just responsive and symmetrical.
Schwarzenegger and Co. really think that we have not seen footage of the destruction in Mariupol or other cities. Confessing his "love for the Russian people", Arnold refers to his childhood memories of a meeting with our great weightlifter Yuri Vlasov.
Ask Schwarzenegger now if he has heard anything about what has been going on for eight years and is still going on in Makeevka , the city where his childhood idol was born, the ex-governor of California will certainly be surprised.
Show him the footage of how the Ukrainian troops ironed this city in 2014-15, and ask why he didn’t remember the name of the great Vlasov then, he will shrug his shoulders, and nothing more. Kindergartens, schools, and hospitals in Makiivka were all subjected to shelling. But there were no such appeals to the Ukrainian people and to the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Western actors, politicians, writers. They were not interested in it.
Boris Johnson believes that the Russian viewer or reader has not heard anything about the events in Bucha at all. And as soon as we turn on the VPN and read the British press, the veil will immediately fall from our eyes.
Come on, he doesn’t even suspect that somewhere, but in our media the events in the town near Kiev are analyzed frame by frame, minute by minute, with reference to primary sources, including, first of all, Ukrainian ones. I have not seen in any Western publication such a detailed analysis of these horrific shots as we have. Perhaps that is why I did not see that a thorough analysis of the chronology of events in Bucha refutes the myths about "cruel Russians who executed defenseless people."
ZAKHAROVA ACCUSED WESTERN JOURNALISTS OF COMPLICITY IN CRIMES IN BUCHA
For example, it is shown everywhere here by the mayor of Bucha, who solemnly declared on March 31 the city "liberated from Russian orcs." This is what we have shown footage in which this mayor (note, together with Ukrainian police detachments) is already on April 1 in the center of the town.
We are wondering where the heap of dead bodies is on the streets of a small settlement, which received the status of a city quite recently. It is in our media that the video of the National Police of Ukraine about the cleansing of Bucha, filmed on April 2, is being played. And at the same time, they quote a Ukrainian militant who asked for permission to shoot at people "without blue bandages."
For some reason, they are actively trying to clean up this video from the networks, but it is our media that bring it. Schwarzenegger and Johnson do not want to ask.
Or does someone in the West think that our public is not shown the "sensational" satellite images from Bucha that The New York Times shared and which allegedly prove that the bodies on the streets have been lying untouched since at least March 19? It was the Western media that obediently, without any critical analysis, repeated this thesis after the "enemy of the American people" (as Donald Trump lovingly called this newspaper).
Our journalists, however, analyzed these pictures in detail, posing questions that you just will not find on the pages of either this newspaper or any other Western one.
MOSKALKOVA COMMENTED ON THE FAKES ABOUT THE PROVOCATION IN BUCHA
For example, none of the numerous analysts in the West raised the question of how the bodies could have been so preserved and not decomposed for more than two weeks of warm weather. It was we who carefully analyzed the daily temperature in Kyiv and its environs starting from March 19 and found out that sometimes these days it reached 20 degrees Celsius there.
But the hordes of Western journalists who have flooded Bucha in recent days are calmly filming these bodies and do not even wonder why they do not need respirators to be near a place where the putrid smell should simply knock you down. There were no questions anywhere about why in more than two weeks none of the townspeople, neighbors, relatives, acquaintances of the dead missed them, found them on the streets, did not call for help, did not call the same police, who worked in the city even while the Russian units were there. It is we who want to know the whole truth about the tragedy of the inhabitants of Bucha, not they.
And now let's ask Johnson: why does a Russian user need a VPN? What additional information can he learn about the events in Bucha that they don't say and don't analyze in detail on Russian TV? Here, the British viewer would discover a lot of new things if for a moment he renounced the Russophobic propaganda and fakes of his media and got acquainted with Russian materials. Both in London and Washington understand this very well, and therefore they are actively cleaning up any information from Russia.
KYIV WANTS TO ACHIEVE A COMPLETE BAN ON RUSSIAN TV CHANNELS IN EUROPE
Although it doesn't always work. The Dutch press, for example, laments the fact that the Forum for Democracy party, which recently boycotted Zelensky's virtual speech in their parliament, continues to accuse the West of unleashing the conflict in Ukraine even after the events in Bucha.
And the Financial Times pointed to the most serious problem in Asia and Africa : they say, like Twitternor bans accounts for the hashtag @IStandWithPutin ("I'm with Putin"), where the audience still believes "Russian propaganda" and again blames the West for everything. It would seem to be asking why people, who have more access to information than the British or Americans with their carefully censored social networks, tend to trust the Russian media? Maybe because they immediately understand who the truth is behind?
But the conclusion is unequivocal: so much the worse for the truth - we need to further strengthen censorship for our media and spread more lies about Russia.
The example of the Russian-language appeal of the British Daily Mirror is the most indicative, since it was drawn up in the worst traditions of Goebbels' propaganda. Eighty years ago, the trenches of the Red Army were constantly bombarded with leaflets: "The political instructor is lying to you. In German captivity, you are not tortured or killed, but treated well!" So the Mirror writes without a twinge of conscience : "Your president is lying when he says that Ukraine poses a threat to Russia and is full of Nazis."
And the same newspaper cites the most monstrous fake under the heading "A woman raped and killed by Russian soldiers who marked her body with a swastika." The lie is terribly cynical, since the article cites a photo of the body of a woman found in the basement of Mariupol School No. 18, which was turned into a base for Azov militants.
The picture has long bypassed all the Russian media, caused a wide resonance, about the fact of the atrocity, the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a case on March 28, and the Mirror writes a week later that it was unable to determine "where the photo was taken". But the newspaper already knows, you see, that the girl was allegedly raped and killed by the Russian military.
Since, you understand, admit that this is the victim of the Nazis of "Azov", the leaflet "The political instructor is lying to you that Ukraine is full of Nazis" immediately loses all meaning. And how, tell me, are the methods of Mirror in this case different from the methods of Goebbels?!
And now let Johnson answer the question for himself: how would accessing British sites via a VPN change the mind of an informed reader who knows (thanks to the Russian media, he knows!), Where and when the terrible photo of a tortured woman was taken? For some reason, this photo was hidden from the British audience for a week, and not from the Russian one.
If a resident of London or Edinburgh had access to our TV channels blocked by the Johnson government, he would be able to receive truthful information about events in Ukraine and Donbass , and not these primitive fakes of his yellow newspapers. But that's why "Prometheus" Johnson explains to us, not to them, what a VPN is.

Macron calls Polish PM a Hitler lookalike.
Polish PM calls Macron a Hitler enabler.
Hitler, Hitler, everyone is Hitler.
"French President Emmanuel Macron called Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki “an extreme-right anti-Semite who bans LGBT people.” In an interview with French daily Le Parisien, Macron also described as “shameful” comments by Morawiecki comparing the French president’s frequent phone calls with Russia’s Vladimir Putin to talking with Hitler.
The Polish premier earlier this week criticized Macron for achieving little in his discussions with Putin. “Mr. President Macron, how many times have you negotiated with Putin, what have you achieved? Have you stopped any of the actions that have taken place?” Morawiecki said at a press conference Monday. “One should not negotiate with criminals … Nobody negotiated with Hitler. Would you negotiate with Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot?”

Apollo managed to make the trip in leaky bathtubs and Spam.
I do like the optimism fights to the moon are so routine soft people will need a porterhouse to make the trip, instead of The Moon being a large battlefield for drones.
But this is NASA, so Media Headlines kiss kiss Bill Gates.
In the prophecy film Demolition Man the artificial sex was easily taunted. Much more subtle, since film doesn't do tasting (yet) was the artificial meat at Taco Bell being taunted with the rat burger tasting so good.

Imagine what a lbs. of this meat well end upcosting?
I would think it’d be much cheaper to transport a few cultures to be grown up there than to transport mass quantities of actual food. And once the cell cultures are started, it’d just be a matter of cutting off the end before cooking and throwing it back into the matrix to grow more.
Kind of like adding ornamental sweet potatoes to the planters for their beautiful vines, only to discover that there are vegetables to harvest under the soil at the end of the summer.

[NEWSWEEK] A third person arrested in connection with the early Sunday morning shooting in Sacramento, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, that killed six and injured at least a dozen has been released on bail after he was charged with illegal firearm possession.
Two men, brothers Dandrae, 26, and Smiley Martin, 27,
...both Crips boys...
were arrested earlier this week on firearm possession charges. A third man, 31-year-old Daviyonne Dawson, was arrested late Monday and has been released on $500,000 bail, according to The Sacramento Bee. Police said they are continuing to search for the person or persons responsible for the shooting.
None of the three men has been charged with any crimes directly related to the shooting, which has made national headlines and drawn messages of condolence and condemnation from local and state officials like Governor Gavin can't be Bee'd Newsom ...mayor of San Franciscoas it transformed itself into Poopville, currently governor of Californiaas it transforms itself into Cinderland... , as well as President Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. SOld, boring, a plagiarist, fond of hair sniffing and grabbing the protruding parts of women, and not whatcha call brilliant... or is that an act?... . Both condemned the gun violence that is occurring throughout the country, with Newsom calling it a "scourge" in America. Newsom and Biden also called for reform of the nation's gun laws.
Police said that the gun recovered when Dawson was arrested likely was not used in Sunday's shooting, in which over 100 shots were fired, striking several buildings and vehicles in the area, the Bee reported.
The Bee also reported that Dawson has previous felony cases, from 2012, 2014 and 2015, and has been charged with being "engaged in a pattern of criminal gang activity and did willfully promote, further and assist in felony criminal conduct by said gang members."
A third person arrested in connection with Sunday's mass shooting in Sacramento, California, was released on bail. Above, coppers at the shooting scene on the corner of 10th and L streets on Sunday.
Smiley Martin also has prior felony convictions. Last year, the Sacramento County district attorney's office requested that he not be released early after serving part of a 10-year sentence for domestic violence and assault, the Bee reported.
He was seen on a Facebook Live video hours before the shooting with a gun, according to the Bee. Other videos that circulated on social media in the hours following the shooting showed several people involved in fights outside as bars and nightclubs closed at 2 a.m. Several gunshots can be heard in some of the videos.

Gruesome has been targeting gun manufacturers for some time. Basically, he's running a Fast and Furious op in the entire state. Flood the state with murderers, then blame the manufacturers for the carnage. Rinse n repeat. His last gambit was for private citizens to be able to sue manufacturers and distributors. So far, the courts have found that problematic.

A local officiall disclosed new details regarding the Ayn al-Assad incident.
The official told Shafaq News agency that an armed group had entered Kabisa sub-district to carry out the attack, prompting the Global Coalition forces to prepare to repel any possible attacks.
The Coalition said in a statement today, "At approximately 1:46 a.m., April 8, U.S. air defense systems shot down an armed unmanned aerial system entering Al Asad Air Base, Iraq.
'There are no reported injuries or damage and all Coalition personnel are accounted for. The incident is under investigation", the statement added.
However, a source reported to Shafaq News agency that the drones are similar to the ones that carried out the attack on Erbil and were found in Diyala two months ago.
The Global Coalition units deployed in Ayn al-Asad airbase
...alternately Ain Al-Asad...
thwarted an attack on the base today, a security source reported.
The source told Shafaq News agency that the units dropped two drones that were flying on the east side of the base, in addition to two rockets.
It is still unknown whether the two rockets were launched by the drones.
Ayn al-Asad is located 90 Km west of Ramadi, the capital city of al-Anbar governorate, and is the largest base hosting the Coalition units.
Bases hosting the Coalition units are constantly attacked since the assassination of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani.
Washington accuses pro-Iranian factions of being behind such attacks.
The attack comes after four U.S. troops were hurt Thursday when rockets were fired at a base housing American forces in neighboring Syria's Deir Ezzor province.
Dozens of rocket and armed drone attacks have targeted U.S. troops and interests in Iraq in recent months.
Western officials have blamed hard-line pro-Iran factions for the attacks, which have never been claimed.
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] A motion for detention shows two men impersonating federal agents, Haider Sher-Ali, 35, and Arian Taherzadeh, 40, had a slew of damning evidence in their apartments
This included images showing several different passports and IDs as well as firearms
'They are not law enforcement agents, and they are not involved in sanctioned covert activities,' the motion for detention filed Friday claims. 'Neither Defendant is even employed by the United States government Didja look and see who they were employed by? We'll wait.
'But their impersonation scheme was sufficiently realistic to convince other government employees, including law enforcement agents, of their false identities,' the memorandum added.
At least two Secret Service agents assigned to Biden and Harris' protective detail were caught up in the scheme by two men posing as DHS agents
One agent receiving free rent, sources say, was regularly stationed at VP Kamala Harris' residence at One Observatory Circle at the Naval Observatory
Another who was often seen partying with the two men is on the presidential protective detail
At least four Secret Service agents have been placed on administrative leave
Taherzadeh and Ali were arrested Wednesday for impersonating federal agents with the Department of Homeland Security, their apartment were raided by the FBI, NCIS and USPIS
The duo claimed to be involved in an investigation into the Jan. 6 Capitol attack
Taherzadeh told law enforcement in an interview after being taken into custody on Wednesday that Ali was the one funding their lavish lifestyle and seemingly endless stream of gifts, but claimed he wasn't aware where the money was coming from.
Ali, according to Taherzadeh, was the one able to gain access codes and a list of tenants in the Crossing DC apartment complex — owned by upscale real estate firm Tishman Speyer.
'With respect to Ali, Taherzadeh stated that Ali had obtained the electronic access codes and a list of all of the tenants in the apartment complex,' the memorandum notes. 'Taherzadeh further stated that Ali was the individual that funded most of their day-to-day operation but Taherzadeh did not know the source of the funds.'
Just after the interaction with a Postal Inspector in March, which eventually led to the duo's arrest, Taherzadeh said that he started deleting law enforcement material from his social media.
Images from the raid Wednesday of a unit on the 7th floor where Taherzadeh was residing allegedly for free showed agents recovered 'three current copies of Taherzadeh's Washington D.C. driver's license, passport, United States Special Police — Special Investigations Unit business cards, a USSP police badge, and several identification and credit cards.'
During an arraignment Thursday afternoon, details emerged that there could be connections between Ali and the Pak Intelligence Service.
Two of his passports were found during a raid of his unit on the 6th floor of Crossing DC.
'Ali's expired passport contained several visas authorizing foreign travel,' the Friday memorandum notes. 'For instance, this passport contained two visas authorizing travel from the Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran.'
'The Government has identified at least four entry/exit stamps from Mashhad International Airport in Mashhad, Razavi Khorasan, Iran.'
It goes on: 'In addition, the Ali's passport contained two thirty-day visas from Pakistain and one visa for travel to Egypt.'
Images of these visas and passports corroborate the claims made in the memorandum for detention of Taherzadeh and Ali.
Customs and Border Protection records show that Ali traveled through Doha, Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi... in November 2016, May 2019 and July 2019. He also went through there in October 2019 and returned from Istanbul, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor... .

So at no time in 18 months it was determined that Biden/Harris were worth the effort?
ON A MORE SERIOUS NOTE
Where there is 1 sleeper cell there are others.
If this is real not mid term hype.
Then DC swamp better cover its assets big time.
QUESTION:
How long before the Biden DOJ & MSM tries to blame TRUMP for this ?

I wonder how many more fake cops and fake bureaucrats are about these days.

NN,
The question is often asked as to why the WWII allies never tried to kill A Certain Austrian Corporal, and never gave all that much assistance to those in Germany who did try.
The answer has and can always be distilled down to one thing: the possibility that they might be replaced by someone competent.
They stayed away from Biden and Harris because they know no matter what they did, the worst result would be a couple of ineffective airstrikes and the White House kissing their backsides again in a few months for a new nuclear deal. But if you actually whacked the top of the food chain, somebody might get in there who says, 'Enough."*

*IMHO - YMMV, of course - Nancy Pelosi would avoid the Presidency like Dracula avoids Holy Water.

Idle speculation: these guys are actually Mossad. They infiltrated Pakistan's ISI but in order to maintain their cover, they had to infiltrate Homeland Security, which appears to be like having the weekend off.

It is a concern that the real agents were taking free rent from these possibly Iranian agents. Not sure why the Iranians would benefit from infiltrating the Biden regime. That would be like Walmart sending agents to infiltrate Sam's Club. It's the same payroll. Looks like we are missing 2/3rds of the puzzle which means we will never hear of it again.

#3 I wonder how many more fake cops and fake bureaucrats are about these days.
I've reach the point where I think there's only about 3-5 people in each department of the government that do ALL the actual work. The rest are just there to grift money and get party invites.
More on this story from yesterday.
[NATIONALREVIEW] A jury acquitted two men accused by the FBI of conspiring to kidnap Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer ...Her Excellency, the dictator of Michigan, 2020 Dem VP contender... and could not reach verdicts on two other men involved in the alleged plot.
Daniel Harris and Brandon Caserta were found not guilty on the charge of conspiracy to commit kidnapping. Harris was also found not guilty of other weapons charges pertaining to the case.
The jury said they could not agree on verdicts for Adam Fox and Barry Croft Jr., who were also charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping in the alleged plot. As a result, U.S. District Judge Robert Jonker declared a mistrial for Fox and Croft.
Defense attorneys claimed that the accused were tricked or goaded into conspiring to kidnap the governor by undercover FBI agents and informants. Federal prosecutors ended up indicting one of their own informants on a gun charge,
...that’d be Dan Chappel...
while one of the FBI agents who testified in the case, Richard Trask, was subsequently fired after being accused of beating his wife in an argument following an orgy.
Fox, Croft and Harris also face additional charges. Two of the most serious charges, kidnapping conspiracy and conspiracy to use explosives, can carry life sentences.
The verdict was read in federal court in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Three of the four defendants hail from the state, one is from Delaware.
Seven other men allegedly involved in the case are to be tried in state court.
Prosecutors were also aided by two co-defendants, Ty Garbin and Kaleb Franks, who agreed to work with prosecutors. Garbin is serving six years for his role whereas Franks is awaiting sentencing.

IMO the biggest story never told is the 8 years of Obama corrupting and politicizing the senior career civil service in DC. FBI, IRS, DoJ, DoD, HHS, DHS, CIA, NSA, EPA, FDA, NIH, the list goes on. In each case think about the news stories under Trump and Biden that show agencies at odds with decades of policy and precedent, and always moving to the left, globalist, Chinese, gay, Islamic. racist viewpoints. The salting of the civil service at the DoJ or DHS are stunning examples of malfeasance in failing to prosecute or enforce existing laws.
Take a look:
https://ourpublicservice.org/blog/a-revealing-look-at-racial-diversity-in-the-federal-government/
In reality, Whitmer was never in actual danger; "Big Dan," the ringleader of the alleged plot, contacted law enforcement early on, and the FBI paid him $54,000 to conduct six months of surveillance on a loose network of militia members who were upset with Whitmer's aggressive COVID-19 lockdown policies. When the group staked out Whitmer's house, it was Big Dan leading the effort—with the FBI's foreknowledge and encouragement.
At the same time, Big Dan's FBI handler, a man named Jayson Chambers, was attempting to start a side business as a security consultant; he thus had every incentive to construct a major domestic terrorism bust that he could take credit for foiling.

And notice I didn't assign the critter a gender as I'm not a biologist. Sadly as a geologist, all I can do is hit something with a rock hammer and tell you if it's a rock (Doesn't scream and spray blood everywhere) or not a rock (Screams, cries and has the red red krovvy inside).
[NYTimes] At least 53 people have tested positive for the coronavirus since attending The Gridiron Club and Foundation’s annual dinner last Saturday in Washington, the group’s president confirmed on Friday.
The Gridiron Club dinner, an annual white-tie roast between journalists and presidential administrations, was held at the Renaissance Hotel. But a night of good-natured ribbing has devolved into an outbreak of cases among Washington’s elite, including members of Congress, members of the president’s cabinet and journalists.
About 700 people were at the event, including the 628 guests seated in the ballroom, Gridiron organizers said. Attendees were required to show proof of vaccination but not a negative test result, and face masks were not required during the program.
Among those who have publicly announced being infected with the virus after attending the dinner are Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo; Attorney General Merrick B. Garland; Valerie Biden Owens, the president’s sister; and Representative Adam B. Schiff of California.
President Biden did not attend the dinner.
On Wednesday, cases appeared to be contained to just a couple of the tables, but they have since popped up at additional tables. So far, there are no reports of any symptoms more serious than a sore throat or mild fever, said Tom DeFrank, a contributing editor for National Journal and president of the Gridiron Club.
Tch. Simply dreadful.
Members have been coming forward since Sunday to notify the club of positive cases, and the club has been informing anyone who sat next to, across from or in proximity to an infected guest, Mr. DeFrank said. “That is what we have done from the start and continue to do,” he added.
This year’s event was the Gridiron dinner’s return after a two-year, pandemic-related absence. In 2020, the organization canceled the event just days before it was set to take place. That year, Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, had accepted an invitation but later declined less than two weeks before the event at the start of the pandemic, Mr. DeFrank said. This year, Dr. Fauci was the first guest to accept the invitation, Mr. DeFrank added. “That gave us some optimism,” Mr. DeFrank said, adding that if Dr. Fauci had declined, “that would have told us something.” Dr. Rochelle P. Walensky, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, was also at the dinner.
The number of new reported cases among those who attended the dinner has been decreasing since at least Wednesday, Mr. DeFrank said.
“We are hopeful that the downward trend will continue,” he said.

That, simply out of principle, should have been enough to cancel one's attendance. Since many of the attendees are unprincipled, they have now become ill.

What exactly does "tested positive" mean here?
An active case of COVID?
Evidence of antibodies in the blood, meaning they have been exposed but never sick, or sick and recovered?
Or another example of the PCR test, which was never meant for this purpose, being cranked up to high?
#10
What exactly does "tested positive" mean here?
It means that polling shows people are more concerned about the economy and the potential for war than they are of the Holy Virus. So the elites want to crank the skeer up to 12.

François Bonivard, Chronicles of Geneva, second volume, pages 395 – 402
“When the bubonic plague struck Geneva in 1530, everything was ready. They even opened a whole hospital for the plague victims. With doctors, paramedics and nurses. The traders contributed, the magistrate gave grants every month. The patients always gave money, and if one of them died alone, all the goods went to the hospital.
But then a disaster happened: the plague was dying out, while the subsidies depended on the number of patients. There was no question of right and wrong for the Geneva hospital staff in 1530. If the plague produces money, then the plague is good.
And then the doctors got organized. At first, they just poisoned patients to raise the mortality statistics, but they quickly realized that the statistics didn’t have to be just about mortality, but about mortality from plague. So they began to cut the boils from the bodies of the dead, dry them, grind them in a mortar and give them to other patients as medicine. Then they started dusting clothes, handkerchiefs and garters. But somehow the plague continued to abate. Apparently, the dried buboes didn’t work well. Doctors went into town and spread bubonic powder on door handles at night, selecting those homes where they could then profit. As an eyewitness wrote of these events, “this remained hidden for some time, but the devil is more concerned with increasing the number of sins than with hiding them.”
In short, one of the doctors became so impudent and lazy that he decided not to wander the city at night, but simply threw a bundle of dust into the crowd during the day. The stench rose to the sky and one of the girls, who by a lucky chance had recently come out of that hospital, discovered what that smell was.
The doctor was tied up and placed in the good hands of competent “craftsmen.” They tried to get as much information from him as possible. However, the execution lasted several days. The ingenious hypocrites were tied to poles on wagons and carried around the city. At each intersection the executioners used red-hot tongs to tear off pieces of meat. They were then taken to the public square, beheaded and quartered, and the pieces were taken to all the districts of Geneva.
The only exception was the hospital director’s son, who did not take part in the trial but blurted out that he knew how to make potions and how to prepare the powder without fear of contamination. He was simply beheaded “to prevent the spread of evil”.

Are the Dems prepping for another stolen election, i.e. the 2022 elections. Create and hype another pandemic scare, push mail-in voting, stuff ballot boxes, bring out the dead voters and multiple-voting voters, rig voting machines, insert fake ballots, steal critical elections.
For crying out loud, can we not arrest these people and or divorce ourselves from Washington corruption?

But this morning, the Johns Hopkins site put the death toll over 800k. Worldometers has it over one million.

JOHNQC, national politicians live in their home states. Why do politicians from Wyoming live in DC. With the internet and communication devices most of their work, besides once or twice a year ceremonial duties could be performed from their home states. The current procedure is about as sensible as day light savings time.

@11 François Bonivard, Chronicles of Geneva, second volume
This looked dubious to me, so I DDG'd it, and it looked even more dubious, given the sites re-posting it. So, I spent some time looking for the original. Here it is:
My French is very limited, but with the help of Google and DeepL I produced this:
==============
This year also the plague reigns in Geneva, and was not enough of that God sent to men, to punish him for their sins, but human malice also wanted to help him.
You must know that, in Geneva, there was a pestilential Hospital, to sequester the infected there in times of plague, and there was a Hospitaller who was a surgeon, a Prebster and other servants, all well paid because of the danger where they sat; and even women, who were called curesses, who truly believe, for they had good wages and stole just as valiantly: And the Hospitaller and the Prebest shared in their booty.
It happened that, by the grace of God, the plague subsided little by little, which made my gallants were not very happy, because people who make their profit from evil, do not willingly wish the good and would always have willingly maintained the evil.
It happened at this point that there was a kid in Geneva, of quite a good House, but addicted to all sorts of deceptions, who took the name of villain in praise, provided that his subtle wickedness was reputed. His name was Michel Caddo. In spite of his refinement, he fell into such poverty that he did not scrape up enough to live on, and he faked being a plague patient.
Immediately he was sent to the Lhospital, where he was treated promptly with julep wine or syrup, and seeing that this party could only last forty days, he decided to prolong it, for which reason he conspired with Lhospitalier, and they decided that all those that brought to Lhospital, instead of curing them, if they did not die quickly, they would kill them, by poison or otherwise.
After they were dead, they took the plague from the carbuncle that had been on the body and made it into powder, mixed with other drugs, from which they gave to drink to those stricken with the plague, pretending that it was a drink of healing. Not satisfied with that, after Caddo had finished his term at Lhospital, they powdered with this poison fine handkerchiefs, well worked, fine garters and the like, then they went through the town at night, dropping them hither and thither, and principally in front of the houses where there was something to bite for them, and for the curers and curesses: And not content with that rubbed the bolts of the doors.
This remained hidden for a space of time, but the Devil does not care so much to help himself to hide the sins of his minions, as to make them commit them. When Caddo had taken enough care of the night, he could not refrain from doing it during the day, except on a Lenten day, in the year 1530, he dropped a cone of his ointment in the middle of the rue de Coutance, thinking that no one noticed it, but someone saw it and carefully unfolded it, when the greatest stink in the world came out of it. A poor woman, fresh out of hospital, said: No mistake, gentlemen, this is done with the carbuncle of the plague. And each marveled and went to warn the Sindicas, who seized Caddo and interrogated him, giving him a strappado.
Immediately they sent to seize his accomplices, who were confronted and tortured. They all spoke as if through a pipe [i.e. gave the straight skinny], and didn't allow them to die, not all at once, not in a day. They were put on a cart, all around the city, tied to a column, naked to the waist: And to have the executioner, above the cart, fire blazing, where he warmed up his pincers, then when they were all feasting red, gave them, at each crossroads, a pinch, which lifted a piece of flesh from them.
Afterwards they were taken to Molard, where on a scaffold they had their heads cut off, then were quartered, and quarters with the heads were carried and tied to various places, except to the son of Lhospitalier, who because of his youth was allowed to keep his head. But he then confessed that he knew how to compose the paternal mixture well, and for this, as much for fear of the evil to come as by revenge for the past, he also lost his life.
[Estrapade: Kind of torture which consisted in being suspended, the feet and the hands tied to a cord, and suddenly precipitated a few feet from the ground, which exposed the patient to sharp pains by the weight of the body and to the danger of being crippled, if, not answering the questions of the judge, the latter prolonged or renewed the torture.]
========================
N.B. The commentator was very interested in this story. He points out that, at the time, there were numerous plague hospitals that were reimbursed based on the number of patients. He provides additional sources, but I ran out of steam. Those here who have French might enjoy the rest.
So the original text circulating on the net is a modernized paraphrase of the original. There are a number of errors - the chief one is mistaking the criminal Caddo to be a doctor. But, surprisingly, it's "truthy".
'I believe very strongly if the good Lord made you a boy, you are a boy, and if he made you a girl, you are a girl,' Gov. Kay Ivey said in a statement on the bill
The Alabama Vulnerable Child Compassion and Protection Act makes it a felony for doctors to perform medical procedures or prescribe medication to minors who want to alter their appearance or gender
The criminal penalty would be up to 10 years in prison
The ACLU said the bill was the first of its kind to make trans healthcare
...not trans healthcare but preventing child grooming. Time enough for people to decide to permanently mutilate their bodies when they’ve settled into their adult selves...
a felony and promised to challenge it in court
Democrats who opposed the bill said it contradicted Republican principals of small government
#2
..it is small government. Cuts all the government bureaucracy and medical funded practices that would set up to do the drugging and cutting like Planned Parenthood.

Hey Groomer, going to cut out the parents on having a say in the kids having access to alcohol and tobacco too? Most states have laws about parents who give their kids those too. There is a reason. Same applies here.
Ukraine's state railway company announced attack on Kramatorsk's station, a city in the east of the country
The governor of Ukraine's Donesk region said later on Friday the death toll had risen to at least 50 people
Pictures from outside the station showed bodies strewn across the ground. Some were in body bags
Other pictures showed wreckage of a missile with Russian text written on the side reading 'For (our) children'
Ukraine's president Volodymyr Zelensky took to Instagram to decry the attack, confirming the casualties
Russia's defence ministry denied the attack, and instead claimed Ukraine was attacking its own civilians
Kramatorsk is found in the east of the country, about 80 miles west of Luhansk in the country's Donbas region
Ukrainian authorities have urged residents to flee west as Russia refocuses its military efforts in the country's eastern Donbas region after recently pulling its forces back from Kyiv
Western officials believe Captain General Aleksandr Dvornikov, a Russian commander who oversaw devastation in Syria, is likely to have ordered yesterday’s fatal air strike on the station in Kramatorsk

The peoples pushing this sort of trash are for some strange reasons the same scum that imposed masks and vaccines on their populations It’s very sad the industrial scale killing that’s happened in Ukraine personally as a Russian I feel sorry even for the Azof’s…….it’s very sad. Even if they are Nazi’s, they are someone’s sons, fathers, they are men. But it has to be done. Genetically we are basically the same. And you can check this. Their genotype does not differ from Russians from ..(names a lot of cities in Russia) they dream in russian, speak in russian, think in Russian. But thanks to Cia and nato criminal propaganda and brainwash, they don’t consider themselves Russians. This is what lead to this.”

Moving the war to the Donbas area is peculiar in that it involves inflicting bombardment and war on Russian speakers, for their own good of course, and apparently trying to do it by use of Syrian and Chechen mercenary forces.
If the Ukrainian forces attack their logistic support, they will undoubtedly take revenge on the residents of the already "independent" areas of the Eastern Ukraine.
Will local residents of the area stand up and cheer for this approach?
#7
Yes, it's NATO and the CIA that convinced the Ukrainians they're a distinct people, not the repeated Russian attempts to exterminate them.

Terrorists locally known as bandidos have reportedly kidnapped an unspecified number of residents in Danjanku village, Musawa Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State.
According to residents who escaped the incident, the bandidos stormed the community in the early hours of Friday, and operated for many hours.
In their account, they claimed the bandidos arrived in the village on cycle of violences and started shooting indiscriminately. They kidnapped some locals and escaped with them into the forest, Politics Nigeria reports.
Barely a week ago, five persons were killed by button men suspected to be bandidos in Yantumaki, Danmusa Local Government Area of the state.
Danmusa, which is on the boundary of Rugu Forest, is one of the main hideouts for button men commonly referred to as bandidos.
Katsina, despite being the home state of President Muhammadu Buhari, has witnessed sporadic attacks by bandidos and kidnappers that have claimed the lives of many.
Over 700 people have been reportedly killed by the button men in Jibia, Kankara, Dutsinma, Musawa, Danmusa and Safana local government areas of the state in the last five months.

We also had no compelling interest in Afghanistan when the soviets invaded but for the impish desire to make it hell for the soviets. I have no issue doing the same here, but no troops. Golden opportunities for field testing our hardware vs theirs.
#5
Except we're making it hell for ourselves and for the poor Ukrainians. It's not like Afghanistan because fucking bleeding hearts have adopted Ukraine as their next Holy Mission.
We will be on the hook to clean up Putin's mess. Billions every year for the next 30 years at least. While they make us poor and push ration cards on us

A classic example of unintended consequences came out of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. We interfered and provided weapons to the Afghans. Eventually the Soviets had enough and left. But then we got Osama bin Laden. Recent history is littered with the tragedies that result from American interventionism.

"Meaningful Interactions" is a metric chosen because it is totally subjective, the exact opposite of meaningful. Subjective metrics are most useful if the goal of the metric is to avoid accountability. Conversely,"18 visitors were referred to rehab" is an objective statement which, I think, is indicative of a subjectively terrible performance. To brand it an objectively terrible performance, I recommend discovering another objective statistic: the count of visitors who were hauled out of the linkage center on a gurney. I bet that number is higher than 18 during the same time period. It is probably high enough to objectively declare the whole project a meaningfully bad idea.

A statement that ought to be calligraphied and framed. :-)
A senior Iraqi military officer on Friday attributed the alarming spike of abductions in the "hotspots" between Diyala and Saladin to the shrinking financial resources of the militants sheltering in the volatile territory.
Spokesperson to the northern axis of al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces-PMF) Command, Ali Hashem al-Husayni, said that the extremist militants have been asking for ransoms from the families of the abductees to commensurate for the declining financial influx.
Al-Husayni cited the abduction of five shepherds in an open area between the governorates of Saladin and Diyala near the Haleiwa airport, calling for bolstering the cooperation between the security authorities of both governorates to tighten the control over the gaps and eradicate the terrorist shells sheltering there.
The PMF commander adduced reports about the infiltration of ISIS militants into the families being repatriated from displacement camps. "This might be a major catalyst for ISIS resurgence. It helps facilitate their action by providing information and intelligence," he said.

I hadn't thought of possible impact of Bidens plan to collapse the world economy on terrorist enterprises. Maybe Ali called Dave Ramsey and he recommended either doing night pizza delivery or kidnapping shepherds. Maybe they'll do both. to accelerate their financial recovery.

Shelling of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the LPR damaged residential buildings
[REGNUM] Three residential buildings in the village of Kalinovo (LPR) were damaged as a result of shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the ceasefire regime reports on April 8.
Ukrainian militants fired at 13:30 Moscow time, firing ten mines at Kalinovo.
Recall that during the day on April 7, the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired on the LPR four times: as a result of one of the attacks, a civilian was wounded.
Ukrainian militants shelled Yasinovataya with Grads
[REGNUM] On the evening of April 8, Ukrainian armed formations shelled the cities of Yasinovataya and Gorlovka in the DPR, according to the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the ceasefire regime.
So, Yasinovataya was attacked at 16:30 Moscow time. From the direction of Avdiivka settlement, the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired seven missiles from the BM-21 Grad.
Ukrainian militants opened fire on Gorlovka at 19:15 Moscow time, firing 15 shots from the BMP-2 from the side of the village of Shumy.
Recall that in Istanbul on March 29, the next round of negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations ended. After that, a number of Russian officials announced the prospects for an early conclusion of a peace treaty.
“In seven years, everyone has already understood everything - who makes sense to listen to, and who does not. Whoever has not understood either in the past seven years or in these seven weeks will never understand," said the agency’s interlocutor.
Now ordinary Luhansk peasants are doing their job, smoking the Armed Forces of Ukraine out of the fortifications around the 29th checkpoint near Novotoshkovka, and they simply have no time for this, Sintsov noted. “When they’re done and there’s time to take a break and look at the Internet and everything, I think they’ll just shrug their shoulders and say: "Another f ... offered to give up. Dill, probably," said the fighter.
"One of my acquaintances, a local militia, who has been fighting from the very beginning, somehow very correctly said: “Bandera is in front of us, Vlasov is behind us.” This is what people think about those who do not want to end Ukrainian Nazism," Sintsov concluded.
Ukrainian Armed Forces shelled Golmovsky in DPR from artillery
[REGNUM] Kiev militants fired artillery at the village of Golmovsky in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This was announced on April 8 by the representative office of the DPR in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire (JCCC).
It is noted that the shelling of Holmovsky by the Armed Forces of Ukraine was recorded at 15:10 (coincides with Moscow time) and during it six shells of 122 mm caliber were fired at the settlement.
As REGNUM reported , earlier Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia wants to see Belarus among the countries that guarantee Ukraine's security.
Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin.
[ColonelCassad] 1. As a result of the arrival of a tactical missile at the Kramatorsk railway station, 30 civilians were killed and about 100 wounded.
2. Ukraine immediately stated that it was Russia that fired at people who were in a hurry to evacuate, and that it was an Iskander with a cluster warhead.
3. When photos of rocket fragments appeared, it turned out that this was Tochka-U, which is used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After that, Zelensky changed his shoes and began to assert that this was not an Iskander, as Arestovich and Kirilenko broadcast, but Tochka-U, only Russian.
4. In the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, "Tochki-U" was officially withdrawn from the armament of missile brigades in connection with the transition to the "Iskander". There is not a single video showing the combat use of Tochek-U by the RF Armed Forces or the armies of the DPR and LPR in the Donbass (even if we assume that they will be taken from long-term storage bases). At the same time, there are a lot of videos of the combat use of the Iskander and other types of missiles. At the same time, Ukraine uses Tochki-U everywhere, including to strike at Donetsk, where the SBU gathered a rally specifically for this strike through front men in social networks.
5. The missile, presumably, flew in from the southwest. According to one data. was hit. For others, it worked just fine. On the rocket everything was inscribed "For the children"
6. It is also worth noting that the population of Donbass, including Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, is considered by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to be disloyal (in Ukraine, residents of Donbass are actually deprived of voting rights), so they can easily be sacrificed.
The strike on the railway station of Kramatorsk was carried out by a missile division of the Ukrainian armed forces from the area of the settlement of Dobropolye, 45 kilometers southwest of the city.
This follows from the statement of the Russian military, who established the place from which the strike on the railway station in Kramatorsk was carried out.
If the rocket went off course, that's one thing. But if the rocket flew purposefully to Kramatorsk, and it looks like it did, then this is a provocation in order to catch up with the emotions of the highest European commissioners who are coming to Kyiv today.
Vladimir Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov says it's a "huge tragedy to us" to have lost Russian troops during the war in Ukraine.https://t.co/X3flQUBL0r

Feng 'Franklin' Tao faces 20 years in jail after being convicted for fraud Thursday
He concealed ties to China's government while working on US-funded research
Moved to Fuzhou to work with a university there but told KU he moved to Europe
Tao found guilty on three counts wire fraud and one of making false statements
Tao's is the latest trial to come out of a now-ended Trump-era crackdown on Chinese influence within US research amid concerns of economic espionage and intellectual property theft.
He was one of two dozen academics charged under the US Department of Justice 'China Initiative' which fell apart following several failed prosecutions and criticism that it chilled academic research and fueled bias against Asians.
Tao, who was born in China and moved to the US in 2002, began working in 2014 at the University of Kansas Center for Environmentally Beneficial Catalysis on projects involving renewable energy, including shale gas, funded by the Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Science Foundation (NSF).
Prosecutors alleged that in 2018, Tao signed a five-year contract with Fuzhou University in China that required him to be a full-time employee with the Changjiang Professorship after applying to participate in one of China's 'talent plans'.
As part of that program he traveled to China to set up a laboratory and recruit staff for Fuzhou University, telling the University of Kansas he was in Germany instead.
The Justice Department says China uses those programs to entice foreign researchers to share their knowledge with it.
Prosecutors alleged that in 2018, Tao signed a five-year contract with Fuzhou University in China that required him to be a full-time employee with the Changjiang Professorship. The Justice Department says China (pictured, President Xi Jinping) uses those programs to entice foreign researchers to share their knowledge with it
Prosecutor Adam Barry said Tao falsely in reports filed with the school claimed no conflicts of interest, describing it as 'an elaborate lie' to defraud the university, the DOE and NSF.
Tao also caused KU to submit to the US government hundreds of thousands of dollars in reimbursement requests for expenditures associated with research grants he was working on, according to the Department of Justice.
But Zeidenberg argued that Tao was merely 'moonlighting' and stressed throughout the trial that Tao remained such a prolific researcher that the University of Kansas honored him in April 2019 - just months before his arrest.
He contended that Tao completed all the research he received grants to conduct and said his work in China was not against the rules because he was not paid for it.
