#3 For indigenous Indians, bird-eating spiders, some of which can reach half a pound in weight, are a delicacy. They cook them over a fire with their legs tied together, plunge them in hot water to remove the harpoon-like hairs, cut them up and eat the soft parts.

Not all that different, in concept, from eating a lobster or crawdad, actually.
