#2 In China, many local (not express) trains have no toilet, just a hole in the floor straight onto the tracks. It serves as an effective deterrent to keep people away who don't belong there.

#4 Our trains also used to dump directly on the trackbed, EPA made them stop as it "Polluted the streams the trestles went over".
(when it rained the Poop washed away into whatever was near)

Standard toilet, not squatty, otherwise the same.
