My personal SWAG: Launching a cruise missile at a high value target inside Russia is a media victory for Ukraine, even if it gets shot down on the way. Despite the pretty words, I doubt Zelensky can resist such a tempting morsel.

#5 Biden has cleared NATO countries to sell F-16 to Ukraine which will be paying with money we are giving them. All those planes will be wrecked unless we go with a Flying Tigers option. Any American that gets shot down and survives will not likely get the Brittney Griner save. Instead they will be POWs in a camp run by Chechens. This is a bad idea. We will lose more F16s bought and paid for by us than we have since 9-11. The strongest argument against this working is that the Biden Administration is proposing the sale. If you check the back of their baseball card, you see a study in abject failures.

Not only do the HUDs not speak Ukrainian, they use Arabic numerals.
It will be interesting to see how the F-16s do against Russian air defense.

#7 The Dutch will be donating, not selling, the first batch of F-16AM/BMs. They had 40 recently retired F-16s that they contracted to sell to a private US company that trains (dogfights etc) US military pilots. The first 12 were already delivered. The Dutch canceled the sale of the other 28 and will be donating them to Ukraine.

Other European countries will also be donating excess F-16s as they upgrade to F-35s. Training has already begun in Poland.

#9 Prove it. Any news article that the Dutch or any other F-16 donor will be paid by the US will do.

If money was the goal, the Dutch F-16s were already sold. So would many of the other Euro F-16s being retired. There is a good market for used F-16s. They are good for about 12,000 hours.

4 months. The Ukrainians have exceeded expectations and the training schedule had to be sped up for most of the weapons they received. They are very motivated to use them.

I doubt the Biden admin will donate or sell any F-16s to Ukraine until the war is over. I suspect there is some kind a backroom deal that prevents it. The US added value is the deep magazine of weapons and spare parts.

The Ukrainians have kept their word not to attack inside Russia with all the previous US and European weapons delivered. Why would they break their word and jeopardize future supplies?
