Granted that FARA is routinely violated.
Granted that he registered retroactively.
Granted that he didn't make that much money (certainly less than Hunter Biden).
Granted that prior to this he served honorably.

Still it smells.

#3 if he was being clandestine, he was pretty open about it

for example, he attended an event in Dec 2015 with Jill Stein and Vladimir Putin (in fact at the same dining table with them)

of course that could have been part of the plan I suppose
