Arabia
Yemen parties eye technocrat Cabinet
[ARABNEWS] The UN special adviser on Yemen praised on Sunday the agreement of all Yemeni parties and political groups on the formation of a technocrat Cabinet by Khaled Bahah, the nominated prime minister.
Didn't they try that once before?
Jamal Benomar, in a statement, said that Saturday night's compromise is an important step toward implementing the agreement of peace and national partnership and consolidating the country's stability.

The Congress Party of former President President-for-Life Ali Abdullah Saleh
... Saleh initially took power as a strongman of North Yemen in 1977, when disco was in flower, but he didn't invite Donna Summer to the inauguration and Blondie couldn't make it...
and other groups had insisted earlier on the formation of a Cabinet that included all political factions, but said after Saturday's meeting that the new agreement was reached because of the critical situation in the country.

Bahah was appointed prime minister last month, backed by the Islamic bloc and Iranian catspaws who control the capital Sanaa and other towns.

Bahah is set to become Yemen's first new prime minister in two years, after Mohammed Salem Bassindwa was forced out in September. Bassindwa was criticized for the country's deteriorating security situation and as too close to the Islah party, which is one of Yemen's traditional power bases.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shouting match, Bart was wondering if fisticuffs would be appropriate at this point...
suspected Al-Qaeda bandidos holy warriors killed 13 Yemeni troops and captured 15 others in an attack in the Red Sea port city of Hudeida, security and tribal sources said Sunday.

The attack targeted security headquarters in Hudeida, which Shiite Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to Americaâ¢, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
rebels seized in mid-October.

Dozens of Al-Qaeda suspects took part in the attack on the security forces headquarters in Jabal Ras, in Hudeida, "killings 13 soldiers, wounding 10, and capturing 15 others," a security official said.

The assailants seized the building but three of the bandidos holy warriors were also killed, the official said.

Army reinforcements were sent to Jabal Ras and negotiations launched with the assailants to withdraw from the building, a tribal dignitary said.

"Tribal mediation is underway to secure the withdrawal of Al-Qaeda bandidos holy warriors and the release of the captured soldiers," the source told AFP.

Jirga meets Mehsud Taliban to negotiate peace agreement
[NATION.PK] A tribal jirga representing Mehsud rustics met the Mehsud Taliban chief Khan Said alias Sajna and other commanders on today to negotiate for peace agreement between government and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain (TTP).

According to reports an 11-member jirga which was announced a few days ago in Tank has started efforts for peaceful settlement of conflict between the government and the TTP.

The jirga held an initial meeting with the Mehsud Taliban and would put forth their suggestions to the official authorities. Headed by Ikramuddin, father-in-law of the slain TTP founder and chief Baitullah Mehsud, the jirga comprised ten other key Mehsud tribal elders.

Sources said the jirga had been empowered to hold talks with all Mehsud factions, including the groups of Khan Said and Shehryar. It will discuss with two little known factions - Shamim group and Hazratullah group also known as Toora Shpa (Black Night) - the matter of a peace agreement.

The formation of the Mehsud jirga is part of the government's reconciliatory policy towards the Taliban, particularly Mehsud factions. The jirga had a one-point agenda of persuading the Mehsud Taliban to reach an accord with the government. They said three secret meetings had been held by the Mehsud tribal jirga with the political agent of Wazoo and they agreed to facilitate talks between Mehsud Taliban and the government.

Mazari lashes out at Fazlur Rehman over his remarks on women
[NATION.PK] Pakistain Tehrik-e-Insaf
...a political party in Pakistan. PTI was founded by former Pakistani cricket captain and philanthropist Imran Khan. The party's slogan is Justice, Humanity and Self Esteem, each of which is open to widely divergent interpretations....
(PTI) Central Information Secretary Shireen Mazari today warned Jamaat Ulema-e-Islam
...Assembly of Islamic Clergy, or JUI, is a Pak Deobandi (Hanafi) political party. There are two main branches, one led by Maulana Fazlur Rahman, and one led by Maulana Samiul Haq. Fazl is active in Pak politix and Sami spends more time running his madrassah. Both branches sponsor branches of the Taliban, though with plausible deniability...
-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman
Deobandi holy man, known as Mullah Diesel during the war against the Soviets, his sympathies for the Taliban have never been tempered by honesty ...
of countrywide protests by women over his remarks made against the women participants of the party's sit-in.

Addressing a presser in the federal capital city, Mazari termed the remarks made by the JUI-F chief as 'uncivil' and said that Fazl should be aware that the country's population constituted of 51 per cent women.

Mazari's response follows closely after a ruckus in the K-P assembly, when Opposition leader Maulana Lutfur Rehman's fierce remarks against women workers of PTI resulted in politicians from both sides using abusive and un-parliamentary language against each other. "Maulana Fazal ur Rehman has rightly said that daughters of the nation have been made to dance in PTI sit-ins," the opposition leader had said. His incendiary comments triggered a commotion in the house by angering treasury members, who demanded that the opposition leader withdraw his remarks about women.

Speaking today, Mazari said that the education budget of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa
... formerly NWFP, still Terrorism Central...
had allocated 70 per cent funds for women' education and added that, "PTI was providing women with their rights which was causing Maulana Fazl to have a heart attack."

The PTI's central information secretary criticized NGOs and women politicians because of their 'silence over the JUI-F chief's remarks' against the participants of the PTI sit-in.

"Why are they sitting in assemblies if they cannot raise their voice for the rights of women," she said while talking about the women politicians sitting in assemblies.

Mazari said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman had used derogatory language against women which was intolerable and issued a 'final warning' to the JUI-F chief.

She said that, "women would raise their voice against Fazl, take to the streets and expose his corruption in case he failed to curb his anti-women statements."

The JUI-F in August had held rallies across Sindh against PTI chairman Imran Khan
... aka Taliban Khan, who ain't the sharpest bulb on the national tree...
for hurling wild allegations and using unparliamentarily language against Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

The rallies had also condemned PTI women workers and supporters for 'signing and dancing in the streets of Islamabad as being shown live by TV channels'.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Abbas Says Glick Shooter Will Go To Heaven As Martyr
[IsraelTimes] Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial...
said the Paleostinian man who shot Temple Mount activist Yehudah Glick would go to heaven as a martyr.

"With anger, we have received the news of the vicious liquidation crime committed by the gunnies of the Israeli occupation army against [your] son Mu'taz Ibrahim Khalil Hijazi, who will go to heaven as a martyr defending the rights of our people and its holy places," Abbas wrote in a condolence letter sent Saturday to the shooter's family.

The PA president also expressed his "sincere condolences," and spoke of Paleostinian rights to the land.

Israel Radio's Gal Berger said an Abbas spokesperson confirmed the authenticity of the letter and posted a photo of it on Twitter.

Right-wing Temple Mount activist Rabbi Yehudah Glick was shot by Hijazi outside the Menachem Begin Heritage Center in central Jerusalem on the night of October 29, according to police.

Israeli security services reported that the suspected attacker was killed the next morning by the police's special anti-terror unit after he opened fire on officers who came to arrest him at his home in the capital's Abu Tor neighborhood.

Abbas's letter was roundly condemned Sunday night by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman.

"While we're trying to calm tempers, Abu Mazen [Abbas] sends a condolence letter for the death of someone who attempted to commit a despicable murder. It's time the international community condemn him for such deeds," Netanyahu said in a statement.

The letter "testifies more than anything else to the fact that Abu Mazen [Abbas] is indeed a partner: a partner for terror, a partner to terrorists, a partner of murderers," Liberman said in a statement on Facebook.

Abbas's letter amounts to "open support for terror and encouragement of further murders," he wrote.

"I call on the international community to reject and condemn this man who is leading the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict to a violent, frightful place."

Police Chief Says Temple Mount To Stay Open To Jews
[IsraelTimes] Police Chief Yohanan Danino declared to an emergency meeting of the Knesset Internal Affairs Committee on Sunday that he is determined to maintain the right of Jews to access the Temple Mount compound, including by deploying as many officers as it takes to enable visits.

Danino faced angry right-wing politicians who demanded to know why the site had been reopened to Moslem worshipers Friday but not to Jewish visitors, as has been the status quo since Israel captured the holy site in 1967.

"We will be even more decisive than in the past, when the size of the force was a consideration," Danino said, referring to the recent decision by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to bolster the police deployment in Jerusalem to deal with ongoing violence and rising tensions between Jews and Arabs.

Amid Tensions, Israeli Lawmakers Push for Jewish Access to Sacred Site
[NY Times] A hard-line Israeli politician from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud Party toured this city's most contested holy site with a police escort on Sunday, and a far-rightist minister reiterated a contentious call for Jews to be allowed to pray there, despite Mr. Netanyahu's plea for politicians to show responsibility and restraint after days of heightened tensions over the sacred compound.

The visit by the politician, Moshe Feiglin, passed without violence, eliciting only chants of "God is Great!" and taunts from Moslem protesters as Israeli, Paleostinian and Jordanian leaders appeared intent on lowering the heated language and trying to calm the atmosphere.

The site -- revered by Jews as the Temple Mount where the ancient Jewish temples once stood, and by Moslems as the Noble Sanctuary, the location of Al Aksa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock and the third-holiest site in Islam -- was reopened to non-Moslem visitors on Sunday.

Hamas unhappy with UN's rebuilding plan
[ARABNEWS] The Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, Lion of Islam group says it opposes a UN reconstruction plan for the Gazoo Strip following a 50-day war against Israel this summer.

Hamas front man Sami Abu Zuhri
...a senior spokesman for Hamas. Zuhri gained notoriety in 2006 when he dropped his money belt containing somewhere between 640,000 and 900,000 euros, which was confiscated by Paleostinian security and customs officials at a routine border crossing from Egypt to Gaza. The news brought competing Hamas and Fatah forces to the crossing checkpoint for an epic face-making and hollering contest...
on Sunday called the UN mechanism "unacceptable, inefficient."

The UN announced the plan in September, creating a system to bring in badly needed reconstruction materials while sidelining Hamas.

Despite its unhappiness with the system, Abu Zuhri gave no indication that Hamas will disrupt the shipments.

Hamas had remained silent about the plan since UN envoy Robert Serry announced it in September.

Serry recently brought in $30 million donated by Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates...
to pay thousands of Hamas civil servants who have not received salaries in months.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Nasrallah Denies Hizbullah Fighting in Syria Linked to Mahdi Prophecies
Always good to know...
[AnNahar] Hizbullah
...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory...
chief His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
The satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb...
on Sunday stressed that his party's military intervention in Syria has nothing to do with esoteric end days prophecies about the return of Imam Mahdi.

"We are fighting in Syria to prevent American, Zionist and takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who most be killed...
hegemony," Nasrallah said in a largely religious speech marking the eighth night of Ashura.

The televised address focused on the issue of Imam Mahdi, who in Islamic eschatology is the prophesied redeemer of Islam who will rule for seven, nine, or nineteen years before the Day of Judgment and will rid the world of evil.

"We do not need a religious justification to fight in Syria and we're not fighting to implement the signs which narrations say would pave the ground for the emergence" of Imam Mahdi, said Nasrallah.

"We are rather fighting to defend Leb and the region and to prevent a repetition of what (Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
chief) His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
...formerly merely the head of ISIL and a veteran of the Bagram jailhouse. Looks like a new messiah to bajillions of Moslems, like just another dead-eyed mass murder to the rest of us...
did against the Iraqi Albu Nimr tribe," added Nasrallah, referring to a fresh wave of mass killings by the IS turban group in Iraq's Anbar province.

Hizbullah's chief warned that "linking everything that is happening to the 'signs of emergence' has dangerous cultural and ideological repercussions, which can only lead to aberration."

Interest in Mahdi and end day prophecies increased among the ranks of some Shiites and Hizbullah supporters after the group sent thousands of fighters into neighboring Syria.

There is no explicit reference to the Mahdi in the Koran, but references to him are found in hadith -- the reports and traditions of Prophet Mohammed's teachings that were collected after his death.

Differences exist in the concept of the Mahdi between Sunni Moslems and adherents of the Shiite tradition. For Sunnis, the Mahdi is Mohammed's successor who is yet to come. For most Shiite Moslems, the Mahdi was born but disappeared and will remain hidden from humanity until he reappears to bring justice to the world.

For Twelver Shiites, this "hidden Imam" is Mohammed al-Mahdi, the Twelfth Imam.

Certain states use ISIL to promote Islamophobia: Iranian official
[Iran Press TV] An Iranian deputy foreign minister has criticized certain states for using the ISIL terrorist group as a tool to encourage Islamophobia
...the irrational fear that Moslems will act the way they usually do...
in the world.

"Unfortunately, these states are playing with the security of the region and the world," by using terrorism, said Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in a Sunday meeting with Norwegian Foreign Minister Børge Brende in the Iranian capital Tehran.

The Iranian official also said the US made a mistake in forming the "illegal" coalition against the ISIL because the move expanded the activities of the Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
turbans in the region.

The US-led bombing campaign against the ISIL began on August 8 in Iraq; while since late September, the US and its Arab allies have been conducting Arclight airstrikes against ISIL positions inside Syria as well, without any authorization from Damascus or a UN mandate.

The Iranian diplomat noted that the Syrian crisis, which began in 2011, needs "a diplomatic solution."

Amir-Abdollahian also slammed certain states for arming the so-called moderate turbans fighting against the Syrian government, saying that the move will deepen the crisis in the war-torn Arab state.

He said that the Islamic Theocratic Republic is open to hold talks with regional states including Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, Turkey, and Egypt to help maintain peace and security in the region.

The Norwegian foreign minister, for his part, called for setting up short and long term strategies for fighting against the ISIL terrorist group.

He criticized certain states for "their strategic mistake" in supporting ISIL, saying, "Reinforcing extremism is a double-edge sword that could be dangerous for all sides."

A large-scale uprising from people living under the totalitarian regime of Islamic State (Isis) is the most likely trigger that will lead to the undoing of the self-declared caliphate, according to an authoritative report into the jihadi group by the former head of counter-terrorism at MI6.
