Huckabee calls for Special Prosecutor to investigate Hildebeest emails
[Breitbart] Republican presidential candidate Gov. Mike Huckabee is calling for the appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate the Hillary Clinton email scandal.

Following a report that President Obama angered FBI investigators by weighing in on Clinton's conduct in the case, Huckabee said that the Obama administration has lost the ability to impartially conduct an investigation.

"Trusting Hillary Clinton to just 'come clean' is like trusting a compulsive gambler in a Vegas casino," Huckabee told Breitbart News Friday. "The American people are sick of games, endless excuses, and political platitudes--and it's time we appoint a special prosecutor to investigate this serious national security email scandal."

"Washington is out-of-control because there's one set of rules for political insiders and elites, and there's an entirely separate set of standards for outsiders and ordinary citizens. In America, no one is above the law--not a Senator, not a President, and certainly not the Secretary of State," Huckabee added.

'Hey Baby': Lamar Odom comes comes out of his coma and speaks to Khloe
[DAILYMAIL.CO.UK] Lamar Odom has awoken from his coma and spoken to his estranged wife Khloe Kardashian, three days after he was found unconscious at a brothel.
We are all relieved...
The former basketball player said 'Hey Baby' to Khloe, according to Page Six, and is now reportedly slowly taken off his ventilator, which will be replaced with a breathing mask.

A source also told People of Lamar's medical condition; 'The CAT scan came back clean, and they're slowing taking him off each machine. He's off dialysis and that looks good. We're hopeful.'

Despite divorcing in July, Khloe could inherit a 'large chunk' of Odom's fortune, which is believed to be around $56million, if he does not pull through, TMZ reported.

It said the couple signed a pre-nup which separated their money but sources close to the family claim Odom does not have a will which means, under the laws of Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, she would be entitled to one-third of his net worth if he were to die.
Stacey McCain made his son promise that he would never marry a Kardashian. Smart move, and Lamar could have used the advice...

And croaked, "Whoa! If I died intestate,
Kardashian hookers
Would divvy my tuchas.

Fallen Angels is just a book
h/t Instapundit
Crippling blizzards, snowstorms and sub-zero temperatures threaten a yearly dose of Arctic misery for the next FIFTY YEARS at least - and possibly decades more.

Climate experts warn a rare pattern of water cooling in the north Atlantic will trigger a chain reaction of events leading to a "fully-blown ice age".

The say the UK is on alert for a "serious climate situation" with regular winter whiteouts pushing emergency services to the limit.
All of which can be fixed with higher taxes, a carbon tax, more government, global government, and more UN bureaucracy. Hey, I'm just getting ahead of the argument here...

#4  I read the book. It's downright eerie how prescient it was.

Currently reading Mark Steyn's "A Disgrace to the Profession" which is, of course, all about the execrable Michael Mann. Pretty ballsy to publish something like that in the middle of a defamation lawsuit by the aforementioned Mann, but Steyn is no shrinking violet.

#5  Could this be the same UK Met Office that only a few years back was predicting snow was a thing of the past in Britain? (just before they had a king hell winter, if memory serves)

Snark aside, give them credit for paying attention to the Sun, something most climate models ignore. (for non-science types, the Sun is that yellowish thing in the sky that swings the temps about 30F each day)

If we look back a couple million years, Earth's climate has been quite regular - about 100,000 years of glaciers interrupted by about 10,000 years of warm, followed by another 100,000 years of cold, and so on. Like day following night, but on a geological time scale.

An interesting aspect of this cycle is that the climate has never gotten 'stuck' in one phase despite changes in the composition of the atmosphere. This is contrary to the claims of strong positive feedback mechanisms from the alarmists who insist our climate is prone to run away towards extremes.

In case you were wondering, the last warm period started about 12,000 years ago.

Guinea President Wins Second Term, Opponent Vows to Protest
[NYTIMES] Guinea President Alpha Conde has won a second term, the election commission announced Saturday, avoiding a runoff with his closest rival, who vowed to protest the results.

"I proclaim that Alpha Conde has been elected president of the republic in the first round," election commission head Bakary Fofana said Saturday night.

Conde received nearly 58 percent of the Oct. 11 vote, while his main opponent, Cellou Dalein Diallo, had 31 percent, Fofana said. About 68 percent of the approximately 6 million registered voters took part in the Oct. 11 election, Fofana said.

It was only the second democratic presidential contest since Guinea gained independence from La Belle France in 1958. Violence marked the run-up to the poll, with at least three people killed, and many worry that street protests in the coming days could lead to deadly confrontations with security forces.

At least seven people were killed in election-related violence in 2010 -- when Conde defeated Diallo in a runoff -- and some 50 people died in the run-up to Guinea's 2013 legislative elections, according to Human Rights Watch
... During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2011, HRW received a pledge from the Foundation to Promote Open Society, of which George Soros is Chairman, for general support totaling $100,000,000. The grant is being paid in installments of $10,000,000 over ten years.Through June 30, 2013, HRW had received $30,000,000 towards the fulfillment of the pledge....

Mexican drug lord flown to Sinaloa mountains after escape
[WASHINGTONPOST] Fugitive drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman was flown to a mountainous region of his home state of Sinaloa following his daring July 11 escape from prison through a mile-long tunnel, a federal official said Saturday.

Based on this information, the search for the world's most wanted drug boss has focused in recent weeks on a rugged area that stretches from Sinaloa into neighboring Durango state, part of Mexico's infamous Golden Triangle drug-producing region that is considered Guzman's home turf, said the official, who agreed to give details of the operation only if not quoted by name.

The official said that after Guzman's escape from the maximum-security prison where he was being held not far from Mexico City, the leader of the powerful Sinaloa Cartel was taken to the central state of Queretaro. From there, he was flown in a small plane to the Sinaloan mountains, the official said.

Several days ago, Attorney General Arely Gomez told Mexican politicians that authorities had captured a pilot who aided Guzman after his escape. The federal official said Saturday that it was the pilot who flew Guzman in the small plane.

Social Security beneficiaries, federal retirees won't get cost-of-living increase
[Wash Times] Social Security beneficiaries and federal retirees won't see any raise in their checks next year after a still-sluggish economy sapped inflation in 2015, the government announced Thursday as it reported the smallest deficit of President Obama's time in office.

The government ended up $439 billion in the red for fiscal year 2015, the Treasury Department reported, as it set new records for spending at $3.688 trillion, but saw tax revenues surge even more quickly.

Still, even though the red ink is spreading more slowly, it's still accumulating in ever-deeper debt, and Treasury Secretary Jack Lew warned Congress in a new letter that the government will run out of borrowing room on Nov. 2, forcing yet another deadline showdown on a Capitol Hill that is already overwhelmed with political fights.

#1  Well, at least the gov't won't have to struggle with a phony CPI calculation and continue to lie to us that all is well with the economy.

Here's a few suggestions: How about treating Food Stamps and subsidized housing as taxable, earned income ?

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday mail delivery.

32 hour work week/pay for giverment workers until further notice. WTF, we're all working part-time jobs now, why not them as well ?

Close down the Department of Education and hand the mission off to the States.

Sell off some BLM properties and pay off the debt dollar for dollar.

Tie student loan applications directly to student loan re-payments. If the gov't gets $100. dollars back in re-payments, they've got $100. to loan. Get nothing back, loan nothing.

Dollar for dollar tax deductions for students who pay their own tuition.

Eliminate the huge, bureaucratic consolidated school district scams and costly bus expenses. Return to small neighborhood schools where kids can walk to school and get some exercise. Start with expandable shelters. Leverage technology with laptops and video. Use parent volunteers and brown-bag lunches.

Eliminate the EPA and hand the mission, whatever it is, off to the states.

No pay raises for Congress until the budget is balanced for two consecutive years.

Terminate all 'foreign aid programs' not directly linked to some kind of natural disaster.

Quit picking winners and losers overseas and selling or giving guns to them.

Cause we can't afford to cover real inflation* anymore.

#4  The average residence doesn't need mail delivery more than 3 days a week. 90% of what we get at our home is advertising and mass marketing mail.

Require that the Federal government can't own more than 10% of the land mass of any state: excess land is given to the states or sold off at auction.

Require universities to hold 5% of the loans they make to students. When a student defaults they lose. Force them to have skin in the game.

Tax university endowments above a certain level. As a man once said, at some point you've made enough money. Yeah, I'm looking at you, Harvard.

#8  but first we've got to elect a Republican majority in Congress.

A majority isn't enough, as we are currently seeing, Matt. It needs to be a veto-proof supermajority in both Houses.

#9  A republican majority wouldn't cut it - as we see many of them, especially in the leadership, are RINOs. We need a supermajority of conservatives.

Slovenia places army on alert as hundreds of migrants reach border
[Telegraph] Hundreds of migrants reach Slovenian border crossing with Croatia after Hungary shut its borders, as German politician stabbed in the neck by man "angry over country's refugee policy."

Slovenia placed its army on alert on Saturday as hundreds of migrants reached its border,
Do the migrants actually outnumber the Slovenian army?
diverted overnight by the closure of Hungary's 220-mile border with Croatia.

A fence designed to seal off Hungary's entire southern frontier is almost complete, forcing the migrants to alter their route. Instead of heading north and trying to enter the Schengen area via Hungary, tens of thousands of new arrivals in Croatia are now heading westwards.

Their plan is to enter Slovenia and then cross into Austria, before heading onwards to Germany. They have been spurred on by Angela Merkel's offer to accept as many as 800,000 people this year.

#3  Ay Pee reports:

Tiny Slovenia has said it will only take in 2,500 people a day, significantly stalling the movement of people as they fled their countries in the Middle East, Asia and Africa. On Saturday, more than 6,000 people reached Croatia, but most of them were stuck in the country as well as in neighboring Serbia on Sunday- and thousands kept on arriving.

On the Serbian-Croatian border, tensions flared and scuffles erupted as hundreds of irritated migrants faced a cordon of Croatian policemen preventing them from entry.

Slovenian officials said they can't accept 5,000 migrants per day as asked by Croatia, which is likely to cause a further backlog in the flow. Interior Ministry official Bostjan Sefic said Slovenia can't take more than neighboring Austria, which said it can accept 1,500 per day.

And the slowdown is rippling backward, with busses full of people parked at borders in the cold. The ripples from this should be revealing.

Guy who killed his sister makes bail
[DAWN] A judicial magistrate on Saturday issued notice to the prosecution on bail petition of a man facing charges of killing his young sister with the connivance of his father allegedly for not making a round roti (bread).

Khalid Mahmood of Shadbagh had already confessed to killing his daughter Aniqa with the help of son Abuzar during investigation into the alleged kidnapping of the girl.

Abuzar in his petition stated that he was not present at home when the incident occurred. He said his mother in her statement before police also confirmed that he was not present at the time of the incident. The suspect asked the court to release him on bail.

The court directed the prosecution and investigating officer to submit record of the case on next hearing.

Majority of acid attack cases remain undecided
[DAWN] As many as 98 per cent of the cases filed by acid attack victims are never decided due to existence of various loopholes in the law. All the stakeholders, including police and medical professionals, should be trained and awareness should be increased within the public to ensure the implementation of the law.

This was stated by legal expert Aftab Alam during a consultation to brainstorm the possible ways to combat acid violence organised by the Human Rights Commission of Pakistain (HRCP) on Saturday.

The event was held to get recommendations for an HRCP report.

Mr Alam said the Criminal Law Amendment Act 2011 only acknowledged that acid throwing is a crime.

"There are three important stages, after the crime, which have to be addressed: crime reporting, investigation and prosecution," he said.

Delhi rape crisis: Two more young children attacked
[BBC] Two young children have been raped in the Indian capital of Delhi, drawing strong criticism from the city's chief minister.

Arvind Kejriwal accused the government and police of not doing enough to protect minors in the city.

The latest attacks come after a four-year-old girl was raped in Delhi last week.

Two years ago, India tightened its laws on sexual violence after the brutal gang-rape and murder of a student.

Mr Kejriwal criticised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung for failing to provide adequate safety and security in the city.

The responsibility for the Delhi Police comes under the national government's home ministry.

"Repeated rape of minors is shameful and worrying. Delhi police has completely failed to provide safety. What are PM n his LG doing?" Mr Kejriwal said on Twitter.

He said the prime minister should either act or transfer the control over the police to the state government.

Police: Jewish man wielding 2 knives shot dead by officers in Bat Yam

A Jewish man police said was carrying two knives and threatening a police officer and a civilian was shot by the officer in Bat Yam and died hours later at Wolfson Hospital.

According to police, on Saturday afternoon they were called to the scene of a brawl between a number of suspects in their 30s that began on Yitzhak Sadeh Street and then continued onto nearby Barzilay Street.

In a statement on Saturday evening, Tel Aviv police said that officers who arrived at the scene approached one of the wounded men and while they were speaking to him, a man holding two knives "with a threatening look on his face" began to run towards the police. They said that the officer felt his life was in danger and ordered the man to drop the knives and that when he refused, the police officer shot the 34-year-old man.
