Labor Sec. Alex Acosta Resigns Amid Pall of Jeffrey Epstein Investigation
If they can’t hurt President Trump, they’ll strip him of his people, one by one.
[PJMedia] On Friday morning, President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
announced that Labor Secretary Alex Acosta had resigned, following new scrutiny of his role in the 2008 plea deal for confessed sex criminal and financier Jeffrey Epstein
...A high class pimp financier who was alleged to maintain a stable of underage whores sex slaves who were paid big bucks to entertain the rich and/or famous. He is a registered sex offender and has so far made 17 out-of-court settlements with former members of his stable, and some cases are ongoing. 2011 court docs reveal that 21 email addresses and phone numbers for Bill Clinton and an aide were found in Epstein's electronic black book, and that Clinton frequently flew with Epstein on his private plane between 2002 to 2005. But But really, they were probably just discussing finance or politix or something. While getting massaged.....
. Various outlets reported the news, including USA Today and Rooters.

According to reports, Trump announced that Acosta himself made the decision to resign. He also called Acosta's presence in the cabinet a "distraction," and announced that Acosta's deputy, Pat Pizzella, would become acting secretary. The resignation is expected next week.

Democrats demanded Acosta's resignation earlier this week following Epstein's arrest on sex trafficking charges. Even so, an earlier case arguably should have brought the new charges to light. An investigation was dropped as part of a plea deal agreed to by Acosta, then U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Florida. Some investigations have suggested Acosta helped craft the deal.

In an impromptu presser Friday morning, Trump and Acosta addressed news hounds about the resignation. Acosta confirmed reports, but he also chided the press for covering the Epstein scandal without referencing the impressive jobs numbers under President Trump and under his own watch at the Department of Labor.

"I do not think it is right and fair for this administration's labor department to have Epstein as the focus rather than the incredible economy that we have today," Acosta said. So he called Trump and "told him that I thought the right thing was to step aside. Because cabinet positions are temporary trusts. It would be selfish for me to stay in this position and continue talking about a case that's twelve years old rather than about the amazing economy we have right now."

The resignation is effective one week from today.

#2  So Acosta must have other skeletons in his closet other than a flight and friendship with the Epstein. He has to understand the media will tear into him, his family, and friends. Sometimes, innocent or nor, it can be better to cut bait.

#3  Actually, the boys over at Powerline have been on Acosta's case for a long time. Not about the 'deal', but more on the line he would have been just as effective working for Obama than Trump. In other words, not much pushing the Trump agenda in Labor.

Michelle Obama Rents $23M ‘Shark House' Mansion for L.A. Visit
[Breitbart] Michelle Obama reportedly rented a $23 million home in the Hollywood Hills this week amid speculation the former first family is considering a move to Los Angeles.
A bit closer to their dealer.
According to TMZ, Obama stayed in the new-construction pad known as the "Shark House" because it is outfitted with an "open-air aquarium" with various types of sharks. The entertainment outlet said there is "incredible security" at the home, but it was shut off while Obama stayed Monday and Tuesday. "One realtor, who’s very well connected in the area, tells TMZ the buzz is that Michelle might be scoping out the neighborhood and/or that particular house to set down roots," the site reported.

Mercury News reports:
The "ultra modern, glossy and boxy" home is a spec house, built for ultra-exclusive clientele to rent or buy.
Frankly, I was hoping for something even 'boxier.'
The three-story home has seven bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, two pools, a "wellness center," a massage room, a movie theater, a wine room and a special freezer for tequila and vodka.

As for the shark "pond," real estate agent Sam Real of Nest Seekers International told Curbed Los Angeles that it is an uncovered 300-gallon tank, filled with stingrays, starfish, small houndsharks and other types of sharks. Behind the pond rises a living wall. Several stepping stones cross the tank, so that homeowners can watch their fish, "do yoga or read a newspapers and whatever you want to do," Real said.
"Whatever you want to do".... which is pretty much what both of them have always done.
Watch Real tour the home below:

Dunkin Booting Franchisees For Immigration Violations
[SpartaReport] Winning...

The Trump Administration has pushed for companies to make better use of the government's E-Verify system as part of its larger immigration enforcement initiative. Leftist website The Hill has described Trump's E-Verify push as "the other border wall."

Fast-food breakfast giant Dunkin (formerly Dunkin Donuts) has taken President Trump's E-Verify initiative to heart. The corporation has taken over several franchise locations after the franchisees failed to make use of the system.

According to several reports, the Massachusetts-based breakfast and lunch restaurant, which recently changed its name from Dunkin Donuts, has sued to stop those franchise owners from operating.

The most recent suits were filed in Delaware and Pennsylvania, "amid what appears to be a crackdown on franchisees employment verification practices," according to Restaurant Business.

A post from Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, said, "Each of the lawsuits is similar. They each said that Dunkin reviewed employment verification documents and practices, found violations at the subject franchisee companies, terminated the operator's franchise agreements and then swiftly moved to remove the franchisees from the restaurants."

And the Center for Immigration Studies, citing a Law360 report, said, "the corporation filed a suit against multiple former franchisees with locations in Pennsylvania and Delaware stating that they were sullying the coffee chain's reputation ... [when they] engaged in illegal hiring practices in breach of their contracts.’"

It added, "The franchisees had failed to use the E-Verify program as their contracts required, according to DD's lawyers. E-Verify is a government-provided system that informs employers whether or not a worker is in legal status. There is no charge for its usage."

The doughnut, sandwich, and coffee firm has said it won't comment on pending legislation.

I don't know about you, but I've suddenly got a craving for some Dunkin donuts and an iced coffee.

US politician insists on chaperone for interview with female reporter
[BBC] A Republican candidate for Mississippi governor has refused to be interviewed by a female reporter unless she brings a male colleague with her.

Larrison Campbell, 40, said she had asked to shadow Robert Foster on a 15-hour "ride-a-long" on his campaign, but was denied because of her sex.

Mr Foster said he was acting out of precaution and he did not want to raise any suspicions about his marriage.

"This is my truck, and in my truck we go by my rules," he said on CNN.

During the CNN interview with Campbell and Mr Foster on Thursday, the 36-year-old gubernatorial candidate cited his religion and faith, arguing he had made a vow to his wife to not be alone with someone of the opposite sex.

He cited the late Christian evangelist Billy Graham, who had said he would not spend time alone with any woman who was not his wife, as well as Vice-President Mike Pence, who has said he will not eat alone with a woman other than his wife.

#4  Would you like to see the post in question yourself?
Posted by: Raj || 07/12/2019 2:39 Comments || Top||

#5  I ran into a similar situation yesterday. I was about to be left alone in an office withy myself and a black female employee (newbie) around 6:00 PM, as she and a(nother) semi-trusted female (prefers other women) employee were about to leave. I quickly started to shut down my computer when the employee who prefers other women (whom I've been with the only other female employee many times in the past) said 'she'll be back for her stuff and then she'll leave', closest words to that effect. I was too busy responding to a potentially difficult situation, so when they left I wrote on a piece of paper '7/11/2019, 6:00 PM EDT' and showed it to both HDTV cameras in the office while they were out. The other one comes back up a few minutes later, then she splits 12 minutes later with us exchanging brief pleasantries. I did not budge from my chair until 6:35, well within the view of both cameras. I took a one minute leak, then split just after 7:00.

Normally the president of the company is there (we're tight) and it's not a problem, but this time around he was not, so I covered my ass, which is required nowadays. I will not put myself in that position to have someone take a shot at me.

I do not know this other woman, therefore I do not trust her. Anyone thinking otherwise is a fool / buffoon.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israel said to quietly increase Gaza work permits as part of unofficial truce
[IsraelTimes] Gazoo trade chief, Israeli official say quota for business permits increased from 3,000 to 5,000, but PA official and NGO claim that change isn’t recent.

Israel in recent days has nearly doubled the number of permits granted to Paleostinian workers from the Gaza Strip, one of the apparent concessions laid out in an unofficial ceasefire that is maintaining a tenuous calm along the border.

The head of the Gaza Chamber of Commerce Maher Tabaa told the Saudi-owned al-Quds al-Arabi daily last weekend that Israel has increased the quota for "trader" permits from 3,000 to 5,000, and lowered the minimum age for entering Israel from 30 to 25.

He said the move was done quietly by Israel in coordination with Gaza’s Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", rulers in the wake of the truce mediated by Egypt, Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
and the United Nations
...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks...
following a two-day flareup in May.

Trader permits are not typical work permits ‐ they are designed for businessmen traveling in and out of the West Bank and Gaza. But Tabaa and others said the majority of the new permits were going to manual laborers. The Haaretz daily reported that hundreds of young men crossed into Israel on Monday in attire that suggest they were laborers.

An Israeli official confirmed the increased quota to The Times of Israel on Wednesday, but insisted the permits were not being granted to laborers.

However,
a hangover is the wrath of grapes...
Saleh al-Ziq, a senior Gaza-based official in the PA Civil Affairs Commission, said that the quota had not recently been changed. He said it has been at 5,000 for the past few years and that Israel started to allow people without "long histories in business" to apply for permits in 2018. Since then, he said the number of permits granted to Paleostinian traders has increased. He said today there are some 4,000 permits in the hands of Gazooks traders.

Similar to the Israeli official, he also denied that workers were entering Gaza with trader permits. But he said Paleostinians in Gaza need tens of thousands of work permits to effectively improve the Paleostinian economy.

A spokeswoman for the Israeli NGO Gisha similarly said the 5,000 permit quota had been introduced after Operation Protective Edge in 2014 and has never been filled. She said that as of today 3,227 Gazooks hold trader permits.

Late last month, Israel and Hamas rulers reached a new ceasefire agreement in which Paleostinian terror groups halted rocket fire into Israel in exchange for Israeli measures to improve living conditions in the blockaded enclave.

Israel has since restored fuel supplies to the Gaza Strip’s sole power plant and expanded the permitted fishing zone off the enclave’s coast, easing some recent restrictions.

Since the truce went into effect, there has been a marked drop in the number of violent border protests and airborne arson attacks, though they have not stopped completely.

Europe
Half of Germans view Islam as a threat, says new study
[Jpost] The Bertelsmann Foundation released a study on Thursday revealing that every second German feels threatened by Islam. Dr. Yasemin El-Menouar, an Islam expert with Bertelsmann, wrote "Overall, about half of the respondents perceive Islam as a threat.

In East Germany, this proportion is even higher at 57% than in West Germany [50%]."

The new study surveyed 1,000 people. It was conducted by the foundation’s Religion Monitor department and the data was collected in the Spring of 2019. Only a third of those surveyed said Islam enriches German society. In contrast, a majority of Germans say Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, and Buddhism serve to enrich Germany.

El-Menouar suspects that the negative result for Islam is influenced by the perception that Islam is more of a political ideology and less of a religion. However,
the hip bone's connected to the leg bone...
the study also noted that "Only a minority of citizens show a clearly anti-Islamic view and demand, for example, to prevent the immigration of Moslems."

According to El-Menouar, "Although our study shows a widespread skepticism of Islam, but that is not necessarily synonymous with hostility toward [Moslems]. Many people have reservations about Islam, but that does not lead to political demands or anti-democratic views."
The demand, of course, would cause one to be chided as a racist neo-Nazi and be shunned by all right-thinking people, especially those among one’s friends and employers. But one does not welcome into one’s home those of whom one is afraid.
Deutsche Welle adds:
There are an estimated 5 million Muslims living in Germany, 1.5 million of them in the western and most populous state North Rhine-Westphalia.

#8  Ref #6: BERLIN — German authorities have charged three men with an attempted home invasion of a U.S. Army employee’s residence that was foiled by the American.

Zweibruecken prosecutors said Thursday that the three men, whose names weren’t released, were part of a group of four who attempted to force their way into the Landstuhl home in February.

They say the 41-year-old American fought off three robbers and forced them back outside, but a fourth pushed past him, ran upstairs to where his wife and three children were and attacked his wife.

Prosecutors say the man, a civilian employee of the U.S. Army’s Regional Health Command Europe, heard her screams, grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the burglar twice in self-defence while fighting with him. The wounded intruder fled and later died.

German citizenship does not guarantee that the gentlemen in question have absorbed the culture. In fact, the fact that their citizenship was mentioned, but not their names or anything else about them except a few ages strongly suggests they are not native Germans. And also that if we were informed of their background, we would not be surprised by their unlawful actions.

I’m betting on Romanians in the Landstuhl break-in. There apparently had been a rash of break-ins and robberies in Landstuhl back when this attack occurred.

The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan, the abbreviation IRGC is a cognate form of Stürmabteilung (or SA), the term Supreme Guide is a cognate form of either Shah or Führer or maybe both, and they hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...

EU foreign policy secretary general Helga Schmid says today that beyond the 10 EU nations that are already part of the system, "we now have 7 more member states that have announced they will either join the shareholders or use Instex," she says, referring to the barter system.

Schmid adds that "from consultations I had last week, I can share with you that more, also non-EU member states, will join."

Iran has breached the deal’s limitations in an attempt to get other nations to provide economic incentives to offset US sanctions. The Trump administration withdrew from the agreement last year.

German Prosecutor: Rule of Law in Berlin ‘No Longer Functional’
[BREITBART] German prosecutor Ralph Knispel has claimed that courts in the German capital are so overburdened, they lack the capacity to carry out litigation against suspects.

In Berlin alone, there are an estimated 8,500 arrest warrants yet to be carried out, according to Knispel who said that the criminal scene in the city is "laughing at the justice system", German news magazine Focus reports.

Knispel made his claims on a German television programme, adding that lack of resources meant that things like DNA tests could take anywhere from two to three years to be analysed due to a lack of trained staff and resources.

Another problem is the number of judges in Berlin who will be retiring in the coming years. Knispel said that many lawyers fail the requirements to become judges and those who pass them often prefer to work in the private sector and earn more money.

The prosecutor highlighted the recent murder of Christian Democratic Union (CDU) politician Walter Lubcke who was shot to death by a man with alleged neo-Nazi
...adherents of a philosophy that was seen even at the time as pure evil, which makes them either consciously and purely evil, or attention-seeking ratbags. Pick one, or both....

Indiana Law Benefiting Gun Owners Goes Into Effect This Month
[Bearing Arms] If you’re ever involved in a shooting, you can find yourself in the midst of a very traumatic experience. Taking a human life can be devastating all on its own, even in the case of self-defense, but then things can get ugly. In far too many places, prosecutors can go after the person acting in self-defense and make them prove their case in court. It’s a costly, invasive process that’s probably more traumatizing than the shooting itself. Hence, Stand Your Ground laws protecting that right to self-defense.

Those measures don’t prevent civil cases, though, and those can be just as bad. Even worse, there’s a lower burden of proof required in a civil case, meaning the chances of being bankrupt over the case‐and not just from legal expenses‐increases exponentially.

Now, an Indiana law going into effect this month seeks to put an end to that risk.

Man Who Killed Himself Under Train Faced Child Sex Charges
SANTA ROSA, Calif. (AP) ‐ Authorities say a man who killed himself by laying in front on an oncoming commuter train in Northern California had been charged with sexually abusing disabled children under his care.

Sixty-eight-year-old Keith Marcum was struck by a Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit train on Tuesday night in Santa Rosa.

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office says train video clearly shows Marcum laying on the tracks moments before the train arrived.

For 30 years, Marcum operated a care facility at his Rohnert Park home for adults and children with mental and physical disabilities.

He was charged in May with sodomy, forced lewd acts on a child, continuous sexual abuse of a child and possessing child pornography. He had been scheduled for a preliminary hearing later this month.

UK far-right activist gets 9 months in prison for contempt
[IsraelTimes] A British judge has sentenced far-right activist Stephen Yaxley-Lennon to a total of nine months in prison for contempt of court.

He receives six months for filming defendants in a criminal trial and broadcasting the footage on social media and three months for an earlier contempt finding.

Yaxley-Lennon, who founded the anti-Islam English Defense League, claims to have been exposing "Moslem rape gangs."

#1  The Judges

Judge Dame Victoria Sharp, President of the Queen's Bench Division, She is the daughter of Lord Sharp of Grimsdyke Yupp, no pun. She is also known as the Queen Victoria of gagging and her many contributions toward England becoming a shithole are the swift silencing of native dissent against sharia and islamic crime.

The other judge is 'Sir' oooh, Knight Justice Mark Warby, known anal retentive legalist. Not a free thought in England can escape the old Bailey, folks ! Especially if it slights moslems.

The Victim

Tommy Robinson was actually calling out the police and civil servants on their prolonged inactivity against islamic grooming gangs and systematic rape of British children by muslim immigrants. He was about as vocal about it as the damn paparazzi are about Meghan's wardrobe or Diana's affairs. Thousands of British citizen's appealed to the judiciary to let him go, but they had already made up their minds. They needed a patsy to hang their inability to strongly indict the muslims gangs. And the person who crossed a few faint lines calling for their blood was the perfect one.

He is a loud voice against moslems and islamic crime in England and needed to be silenced. The authorities even tried to scare him by putting him in confinement with hard core islamists. The BBC has constantly vilified him as public enemy no. 1 all this while.

He had appealed to US Prez Trump for help, with his life in danger from islamists and 'civil servants' alike. I don't think Trump could do anything about it unless he comes over somehow.

Germany must repatriate ISIS fighter’s wife and children: Court
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A Berlin court has ruled that the Foreign Ministry should repatriate from Syria the German wife and three children of a suspected ISIS fighter, a front man said on Thursday, adding that it was the first such ruling against the government.

The family had sued the Foreign Ministry after its diplomats declined a request to help the mother return to Germany with her three children from a Kurdish-controlled area in northern Syria, the court front man said. Germany had wanted to repatriate the children but not the mother.

The court said the Foreign Ministry should first verify the identity of the mother and her children before proceeding with their repatriation.

Explosion rocks Christian neighborhood in Syria’s Qamishli, injuring 12
[Rudaw] Twelve people were maimed on Thursday when a boom-mobile went kaboom! near a church in a Syrian regime-held neighbourhood of Qamishli, northern Syria, according to Rudaw’s news hound at the scene.

The explosion occurred in the Christian-majority neighborhood of al-Wasta, Rudaw’s Viviyan Fatah said.

The blast caused significant material damage, but no fatalities were reported. No one has grabbed credit for the attack.

The city of Qamishli is located in Hasaka province in northern Syria and is under the control of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (NES). However,
a person who gets all wrapped up in himself makes a mighty small package...
some neighborhoods remain under the control of the Syrian regime.

Earlier in the day, a cycle of violence bomb was also detonated in downtown Hasaka. There were no casualties, according to the ANHA News Agency.

Also earlier on Thursday, at least eight non-combatants were killed and 35 others maimed when a bomb went kaboom! on board an oil truck in Afrin, northwest Syria, according to Ottoman Turkish state media agency Anadolu.

The Kurdish-majority district of Afrin was seized by Ottoman Turkish forces and their Syrian proxies in early 2018. It has seen regular bombings since then ‐ some claimed by the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), which was expelled by the Ottoman Turkish offensive.

'Bigger crime than murder': SC throws out acquittal plea of acid attacker despite victim's forgiveness
[DAWN] In a landmark judgement, the Supreme Court on Thursday rejected the plea for acquittal filed by an acid attack convict, saying he deserved no mercy despite the claim that his victim had forgiven him for the crime.

"Acid attack offenders do not deserve any clemency," Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa declared while hearing an application filed by convict Javed Iqbal, who approached the apex court with an appeal against the sentence he was awarded for throwing acid on a woman.

The lawyer for the petitioner informed the SC bench that the female victim of the acid attack had "forgiven" his client.

But Justice Khosa said that there could be no compromise in a case concerning an acid attack.

"The affected woman may well forgive [the convict], but the law cannot forgive an acid attack suspect," the top judge added.

He clarified that the law regarding acid attacks was "extremely strict", saying: "Burning someone with acid is a bigger crime than murder."

Justice Khosa said the petitioner had committed "extreme cruelty" by attacking the woman with acid.

He said the punishment for throwing acid was life imprisonment and that it was a "crime against the state".

"It is possible that the affected woman was threatened into going to the Supreme Court to give a statement [of forgiving the convict]," the chief justice observed.

"The law cannot forgive anyone who burns someone's face with acid," he concluded, rejecting the convict's plea for acquittal.

#1  That's probably why judges are attacked, even killed in Pakistain. In order to pass a judges exam, an individual goes through what is called 'education'. Jurisprudence, theories of justice and society, comparative sociology, criminal psychology. Any human mind going through that process has to travel far from the realm of rabid demagoguery that pervades Pakistani society. More power to the judge, I say.

Jihadists suffered heavy losses to capture Hamamiyat, 2 emirs killed
[ALMASDARNEWS] The jihadist rebels launched an offensive in northwestern Hama on Wednesday, targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions at the town of Hamamiyat.

While the jihadist rebels were able to capture Hamamiyat, the attack proved to be incredibly costly for the bad boys, as dozens were reported dead or maimed.

According to a report from Hama, the two Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else
...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State...
emirs, Abu Hafez Kernaz and Qahoura Mahrouk, were killed during the attack on Hamamiyat last night.

In addition to the death of these commanders, the jihadist rebels lost over 25 Death Eaters during the attack on Hamamiyat.

Since capturing Hamamiyat, the jihadist rebels have attempted to seize nearby Kernaz, but they failed to do so, despite having the high ground.

The Syrian Arab Army is now preparing to storm the town in a bid to reverse the jihadist gains in northwestern Hama.

Hamas fella Mahoud al-Adham Tango Uniform
GAZA (Reuters) - Israeli soldiers mistakenly shot an operative of Islamist group Hamas on Thursday who had been trying to stop Palestinians approaching the Israel-Gaza border, the Israeli military said.

The health ministry in Gaza, which is run by Hamas, identified the dead man as Mahmoud al-Adham, 28,
...The Times of Israel identifies him more completely as Hamas field commander, Mahmoud Ahmad Sabri al-Adham...
and said he was shot near Beit Hanoun in the northern part of the territory.

"An initial inquiry suggests that a Hamas restraint operative arrived in the area of the security fence because of two Palestinians who were wandering in the area," the Israeli military said in a statement.

"In retrospect, it appears that the IDF (Israel Defense Force) troops who arrived at the location misidentified the Hamas restraint operative to be an armed terrorist and fired as a result of this misunderstanding," it said, promising a review.

The last round of violence in the Gaza Strip and neighboring southern Israel was in May,
...already fading into the mists of ancient history...
with hundreds of Palestinian rocket attacks and Israeli air strikes over three days before a ceasefire was brokered.

FCC commissioner blasts carriers for failure to fight robocalls
[THEVERGE] Carriers have been slow to address the growing robocall problem, but the Federal Communications Commission may be about to force their hand. In a letter to fourteen US carriers, FCC Commissioner Geoffrey Starks today called out the confusing and often ineffective options available to consumers for fighting automated spam calls, and threatened regulatory action if the carriers do not improve.

"Despite historically clamoring for new tools, it does not appear that all providers have acted with haste to deploy opt-out robocall blocking services," Starks told the carriers. "The Commission spoke clearly: we expect opt-out call blocking services to be offered to consumers for free. Reviewing the substance of these responses, by and large, carriers’ plans for these services are far from clear."

In June, the FCC voted to allow carriers to block robocalls by default, and pushed carriers to adopt protections using the STIR/SHAKEN protocol before the end of the year. In response to that order, Commissioner Starks asked telecoms to inform the Commission of their plans to offer free robocall-blocking services by default.

But the responses to that request, published today alongside Starks’ letter, show a range of confusing and obscure tools. AT&T released its own default robocall-blocking system (dubbed "Call Protect") on July 9th, making it the default setting for all newly installed lines. T-Mobile’s default "Scam ID" system attempts to identify robocalls, but users must opt into the more comprehensive "Scam Block" service. (Both products are free.) Comcast took a similar line, telling Starks that it offers "a range of free robocall mitigation tools that its customers may opt in to using," although it’s unclear which of those tools will take advantage of the FCC’s new mandate to proactively block robocalls.

Afghanistan
John Chapman's incredible heroics in the first Medal of Honor action ever recorded on video
[Task & Purpose] Most actions that lead to the awarding of the Medal of Honor are based on eyewitness accounts or physical evidence.

The actions of Air Force Technical Sgt. John Chapman, however, were caught on video.

Chapman, an Air Force combat controller, was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor in August 2018 for his bravery during the 2002 Battle of Takur Ghar in Afghanistan, in which he charged enemy bunkers and exposed himself to blistering fire while trying to rescue a fallen comrade.

And hovering over the 10,469-foot peak at the time was a CIA predator drone and other surveillance assets, which captured it all.

Dan Schilling, a former combat controller and author of a new book about Chapman, narrates a new video of that footage that explains Chapman's actions and what he did to protect his teammates.

"You'll watch Chapman's heroic actions as he saves the lives of his entire SEAL Team and then another 18 members of a quick reaction force, earning America's highest award, the Medal of Honor," Schilling explains.

In the nearly nine-minute video, Schilling walks through the team's actions and highlights Chapman in the frame so viewers can keep track of his progress.

"It was really grainy. But there was still somebody up there fighting, and you could see that," Kenny Longfritz, Chapman's first sergeant at 24th STS, said of the Predator drone footage he viewed after the battle. There was no doubt in his mind, or among many others in the squadron, that it was John.

Chapman's actions occurred on March 4, 2002 during Operation Anaconda, the largest battle involving conventional U.S. troops in the Afghanistan War. While attached to SEAL Team 6 as a combat controller ‐ the team's expert on air strikes and communications ‐ Chapman was one of the first off the helicopter as the team tried to rescue a fallen SEAL.

Trudging through thigh-deep snow, Chapman and the others fought back against al Qaeda fighters that had dug in on the mountaintop. And when the team fell back under withering enemy fire, Chapman remained behind to fight on for an hour and attempted to cover the approach of a quick reaction force, before he was shot and killed.

Economy
Dow Jones industrials cross 27,000 points for first time
[AP] A turbulent day on Wall Street ended in the record books Thursday as the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed above 27,000 for the first time and the S&P 500 index hit another all-time high.

The milestones came on a day when the S&P 500 briefly moved above 3,000 for the second straight day before an early rally lost some of its momentum.

The market lost some ground after an auction of long-term U.S. government bonds failed to drum up strong demand. That pulled bond prices lower, sending yields sharply higher.

Banks and technology stocks led the broad gains, offsetting losses in real estate and communications services companies.

The latest gains extended a winning streak for stocks into its third day. Stocks have been trending higher for much of the week as investors have grown more confident that the Federal Reserve may cut interest rates for the first time in a decade as soon as the end of this month.

"Sure, 27,000 is just a number and in the whole scope of things isn’t meaningful," said Ryan Detrick, senior market strategist for LPL Financial. "What it is though is a reminder for all investors that this bull market has ignored all the scary headlines for years and the dual benefit of fiscal and monetary policy could mean it has a lot longer to go than most expect."

The S&P 500 rose 6.84 points, or 0.2%, to 2,999.91. The index set three straight record highs last week.

Pres. Trump drops census citizenship question, vows to get data from government
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump ended his quest on Thursday to add a contentious citizenship question to the 2020 census, but insisted he was not retreating from his fight against illegal immigration and said the government would obtain the data by combing through federal records.

"We are not backing down on our effort to determine the citizenship status of the United States population," Trump said in an announcement at the White House.

He said he was ordering every government agency to provide the Department of Commerce with all requested records regarding the number of citizens and non-citizens in the country.

In CA there is no reason to participate in the census because it only benefits the opposition party that controls this state.

Left-Wing Megadonor Tom Steyer Launches 2020 Ad Buy, Attacks ‘Big-Money Interests’
[BREITBART] Left-wing billionaire mega-donor and impeachment crusader Tom Steyer entered the 2020 Democratic presidential primary on Tuesday, and launched the first major television advertising blitz of the campaign on Wednesday.

Politico reports that Steyer is running two ads for two weeks, focusing on the first four primary and caucus states: "The pair of ads are backed up by $1.4 million dollars in spending, according to details of the ad campaign shared first with POLITICO. They will run nationally on CNN and MSNBC and locally in the four early states ‐ Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada ‐ for two weeks, from July 10 to July 23."

Steyer is helped by his massive wealth. His estimated net worth is $1.6 billion, according to Forbes. He "made a fortune, in part, by investing in fossil fuels" while at Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,-based Farallon Capital Management, Forbes adds.

As he burst onto the political scene five years ago, Steyer re-invented himself as a climate change activist. According to OpenSecrets.org, he was the Democrats’ single largest individual contributor in the 2014 midterm elections, a cycle in which they lost the Senate. He was also the top donor in 2016, and the third-largest in 2018. Partly at his urging, Senate Democrats ‐ then in the majority ‐ held an all-night talkathon in 2014 urging action to fight climate change. His NextGen Climate Action Committee super PAC has registered millions of voters, focusing on younger voters.

In the two-and-a-half years since Trump took office, Steyer has led a campaign to encourage Democrats to impeach the president. He launched the "Need to Impeach" super PAC and, together with NextGen, planned to spend over $100 million and hire 1,000 staff in that effort. He decided not to run for president earlier this year, and spend $30 million to defeat Republicans instead.

Steyer has since had a change of heart.

His first new commercial, "Money Where His Mouth Is," casts Steyer’s career as one of self-sacrifice for the cause:

This 100-year-old Marine vet fought in WWII and Korea. Now he's being honored for his place in Corps history
[Task & Purpose] Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton has played a major role in military history over the past 77 years, and John Farritor is one of the rare men who has seen that history unfold from the start.

The Vista, California veteran, who turned 100 on Tuesday, is one of the few surviving Marine veterans who marched 55 miles from Camp Elliott in San Diego to christen the newly opened base near Oceanside in September 1942.

He also fought with Camp Pendleton-based divisions in some of the Corps' most defining and deadly battles of World War II and the Korean War, including at Iwo Jima, Bougainville, the Pusan Perimeter, the Inchon Landing and the Chosin Reservoir.

"John was a part of history with a capital H," said local historian Linda Dudik of San Marcos, who runs the historical website The World War II Experience. Dudik taught history for 34 years at Palomar College and has devoted her post-retirement years since 2009 to collecting and re-telling the stories of aging war veterans like Farritor.

Nattily attired in his medal-bedecked dress blues uniform and cap, Farritor was guest of honor at a birthday celebration Tuesday morning at Pacifica Senior Living in Vista, where he has lived since 2010. A group of young Marines from Camp Pendleton, as well as friends and fellow residents gathered to hear about Farritor's Marine Corps experiences in a slide-show presentation presented by Dudik, a longtime friend.

Farritor sang along to his "Happy Birthday" song and quipped to the audience: "I enjoyed the first 100 years. But I don't know what I'll do from here on out."

Relatives take to streets in protest after Hyderabad siblings' abduction, deaths
[DAWN] The family members of a young boy and girl took out a protest rally in Hyderabad on Thursday evening after the two siblings ‐ who had gone missing from the city's GOR Colony area on Monday ‐ were murdered allegedly by a man the family says lived in their neighbourhood.

According to the First Information Report (FIR) registered on their parents' complaint on Wednesday, the 11-year-old boy and his 10-year-old sister went missing on Monday after they left their house to fetch some ice. When they did not return after a while, the parents mounted a search, but to no avail.

The same night, police found the boy critically maimed near the airport after which he was taken to the Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) city branch, where police recorded his statement. The boy, who had received stabbing wounds, departed this vale of tears the next day.

The minor girl's body was found late on Wednesday night in Bismillah City ‐ a private housing scheme within the jurisdiction of B-section cop shoppe ‐ after which it was handed over to her heirs.

The postmortem of both children was conducted at LUH city branch by medico-legal officers of Shah Bhitai Hospital Latifabad ‐ where the two were initially taken. Initial findings of the postmortem were not immediately available.

MLOs have taken samples from the girl's body to determine whether she was sexually assaulted before being killed. Ambreen Siyal, a counsel for the family, said she "strongly assume[s] that the girl was subjected to criminal assault".

She said there was no enmity between the suspect and the victims' family.

"The boy while naming the suspect during his statement to the police said that he [the suspect] had taken the siblings on a cycle of violence with the promise of buying them some goods," said Zulquarnain Talpur, another counsel for the family.

He revealed that the suspect has now been arrested by police.

"He was living in our area for the past eight to 10 years and we were completely unaware that he had such evil intentions regarding our children and that he will go to this extent," said the grieving father, who was protesting outside the press club with his daughter's coffin placed in front of him.

Once the boy was found, Talpur and Siyal had on Tuesday evening approached Airport cop shoppe for the registration of a case but they were told that since the boy had gone missing from within the GOR police’s jurisdiction, the case would have to be lodged there.

Talpur said that he then approached the deputy inspector general (DIG) of police for the registration of an FIR after which a case was lodged at the GOR cop shoppe on Wednesday, a day after the boy's death. He regretted the delay in the registration of the FIR.

North Korea fires off lethal threats over South Korea’s F-35 acquisition
[ALMASDARNEWS] On Thursday, North Korea
...hereditary Communist monarchy distinguished by its truculence and periodic acts of violence. Distinguishing features include Songun (Army First) policy, which involves feeding the army before anyone but the Dear Leadership, and Juche, which is Kim Jong Il's personal interpretation of Marxism-Leninism, which he told everybody was brilliant. In 1950 the industrialized North invaded agrarian South Korea. Twenty-one countries of the United Nations eventually contributed to the UN force opposing the invasion, with the United States providing around 90% of the military personnel. Seventy years later the economic results are in and it doesn't look good for Juche...
claimed it would develop and test unspecified "special armaments" to destroy US F-35 fighter jets if South Korea continues to deploy them.

In a statement released by state news agency KCNA, an unidentified policy research director at the Institute for American Studies of North Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs called South Korean authorities "impudent and pitiful" for "talking loudly about reconciliation and cooperation between the north and the south" while still purchasing US weapons.

"We, on our part, have no other choice but to develop and test the special armaments to completely destroy the lethal weapons reinforced in South Korea," the statement adds, also noting that South Korea’s purchase of the weapons is an "extremely dangerous action which will trigger our reaction."

South Korea received the first two of its F-35A fighter jets from American technologies company Lockheed Martin in March, with eight more expected to be delivered by the end of the year, and a total of 40 on order.

The rest of the $85 million apiece planes are expected to be delivered by 2021. Before deliveries began, South Korean pilots spent months training on six F-35A aircraft at an airbase in Arizona, Sputnik reported.

"The South Korean authorities had better come to their senses before it is too late, shattering the preposterous illusions that an opportunity would come for improved inter-Korean relations if they follow in the footsteps of the United States," the North Korean statement continued.

Earlier this year, hopes for achieving peace on the Korean Peninsula dwindled after much-anticipated talks between North Korean leader Kim Pudge Jong-un

House Dems Tweet Photo Of 'Inhumane' Detention Centers...Then Delete Post After Realizing It Was Under Obama.
[Townhall] Well, that's embarrassing for the Democrats. In an attempt to slam what they view as President Donald J. Trump's inhumane treatment of illegal aliens and migrant children, the Democratic House Oversight Committee tweeted a picture of an overcrowded detention center. The only problem with this photo is that it was taken during President Barack Obama's term in office.

"Last week, members of our committee visited a detention center at the southern border and discovered grotesque treatment of children," the tweet from Tuesday afternoon said. "This week, we are examining the inhumane treatment of the children in these detention centers."

The 2020 Trump campaign war room quickly responded, saying, House Democrats are promoting their 'civil rights' hearing on 'kids in cages' and 'inhumane treatment' with a photo from 2014, when Joe Biden was Vice President. So dishonest!"

Zarif talks about exchanging detained oil tanker with jailed dual national
[THEBAGHDADPOST] Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif says he has received no proposal to exchange a British-Iranian prisoner in Tehran, Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe with Iran's detained oil tanker in Gibraltar.

Zarif called the seizure of the oil tanker an act of piracy, while adding that he has received no offer from the UK government to release the oil tanker Grace 1 against freeing Ratcliffe who has been in jail since 2016 no particular reason.

Zarif's comment could be his own way of signalling to Britannia that Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan, the abbreviation IRGC is a cognate form of Stürmabteilung (or SA), the term Supreme Guide is a cognate form of either Shah or Führer or maybe both, and they hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
would be open to such an exchange. On several occasions in the past Iran has exchanged foreigners it was holding on trumped up charges for recovering money or financial assets.

In recent days, there have been rumors on the Persian social media about such an exchange involving Zagheri-Ratcliffe.

Grace 1 was detained in Gibraltar on July 4 for violating EU sanctions against Syria, while reportedly carrying Iranian oil to a refinery under the control of Bashir al-Assad.

Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe was detained in Iran at the end of a visit to see her family in April 2016. The Iranian Judiciary has accused her of espionage but has not presented evidence for the charge.

Recently, Zaghari's husband staged a sit-in near the Iranian Embassy

in London while the couple were on hunger strike for two weeks in protest to her unfair detention.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Police Chief Loses Weapon in California Restaurant Men's Room
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CALIF. (AP) ‐ The chief of a California police department says she left her gun in a restroom and it was immediately stolen and now officials are looking for a man seen in restaurant surveillance video leaving shortly after the weapon vanished.

San Luis Obispo Chief Deanna Cantrell revealed her mistake in a video on the department's Facebook page, saying her actions were "irresponsible and dangerous" and that she's glad a child didn't find the weapon.

Cantrell said she was having lunch in a restaurant on Wednesday when she went into the restroom.

"Even though my gun was in a holster it didn't stay clipped to my pants so I removed it and I placed it next to me," she said.

Cantrell said within minutes of leaving the restroom she realized what had happened and went back, but the gun was gone.

She immediately checked video footage and saw that three people entered the restroom after her.

"The first man, whose photo was released on Facebook, went into the restroom after me and then immediately left the restaurant without ordering any food," she said.

The other two people were still in the restaurant and said the firearm was not in the restroom when they went in, she said.

The photo of the possible suspect shows the man wearing a shirt, shorts and sunglasses apparently entering the El Pollo Loco restaurant.

I was thinking of something snarky to say about relinquishing your pants before losing a gun in a restaurant loo, or a cop's gun being more important than their pants... but then I realized it was California.

Also, if we have to have wimmin cops, we can't do away with separate loos. A lady going in after her would have just returned the thing to the ... uhh, chief.

Clashes kill 56 fighters in northwest Syria
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Regime and hard boy-led forces were locked in festivities on Thursday on the edge of an opposition bastion in northwest Syria after an hard boy-led advance that killed 56 fighters overnight, a war monitor said.

Russian and regime aircraft have ramped up their deadly bombardment of the Idlib region - administered by Syria’s former al-Qaeda affiliate Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else
...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State...
, and home to some three million people - since late April, despite a months-old international truce deal.

Clashes have also raged on the edges of the region, including in the north of Hama province.

Late Wednesday, HTS and allied rebels took control of Hamameyat village and hilltop, in festivities that killed 32 regime fighters and 24 fighters within the murderous Moslems’ own ranks, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

"The fighting is ongoing as regime planes and artillery pound the area," the head of the Britannia-based monitor Rami Abdel Rahman said on Thursday morning.

HTS front man Abu Khaled al-Shami said the hard boy and rebel fighters attacked after dark, taking control of the "heavily fortified" hill from fighters loyal to Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad

A September deal between Russia and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
was supposed to avert a massive regime offensive on Idlib, but it was never fully implemented and HTS took full administrative control in January.

More than 550 civilians have been killed in regime and Russian air strikes on northwest Syria since the end of April, according to the Observatory.

Air strikes on Wednesday alone killed 11 civilians, among them four children, including in raids that knocked a hospital out of service, the monitor said.

The United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
says 25 health facilities in the region have been hit, while the fighting has forced 330,000 people to flee their homes.

Syria’s war has killed more than 370,000 people and displaced millions since it started in 2011 with a brutal crackdown on anti-government protests.

Caribbean-Latin America
Argentina To Designate Hezbollah As Terror Group - Report
[Jpost] According to La Nacion, Argentinian President Mauricio Macri asked his government to find the most rapid solution to include the Iranian‐backed group in the list of terror organizations.

Argentina
...a country located on the other side of the Deep South. It is covered with Pampers and inhabited by Grouchos, who dance the Tangle. They used to have some islands called the Malvinas located where the Falklands are now. They're not supposed to cry for Evita...
's government is planning on designating the Lebanese-based Hezbollah group as a terror organization for its role in the terror attacks against the Israeli embassy and the AMIA Jewish community center in Buenos Aires, Argentinian newspaper La Nacion reported on Tuesday.

"We are evaluating different possibilities. One of them is to pass a decree," sources in the Ministry of Security and the Financial Intelligence Unit told the newspaper. The two entities have been tasked by President Mauricio Macri to find the "most rapid" solution to achieve the goal of including the Iranian-backed group in the list of terror organizations.

"We do not have a majority in Parliament, and it would take too long to pass a law there," highly-placed sources in the Argentinian government explained to La Nacion.

July 18, 2019, will mark the 25th anniversary of the bombing of the Argentine Israelite Mutual Association in the country's capital. The attack left 85 people killed and 300 injured.

The report added that on that day Macri would pay tribute to the victims with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who is scheduled to visit the country next week.

Pompeo will participate in the Western Hemisphere Ministerial anti-terrorism summit that the government of Argentina will host commemorating the bombing on July 19.

The United States and Argentina already held a workshop on countering Hezbollah’s terrorist activities in the western hemisphere in Buenos Aires in June.

La Nacion highlighted that the move by Macri's government appears to be connected to the US official's visit. The paper called it a critical turn in Argentina's foreign politics.

The designation of Hezbollah as a terror group would imply enforcing political and financial restrictions on its members in the country.

Court tosses lawsuit from woman who claimed Trump ‘forcibly kissed’ her
[NYPOST] A lawsuit filed against President Trump by a former campaign staffer who claimed that he "forcibly kissed" her in 2016 has been thrown out of a Florida federal court.

Alva Johnson, 43, an outreach director for Trump in Alabama and Florida, said that the then-candidate went for a lip-lock outside one of his rallies in Tampa, Fla., on Aug. 24, 2016.

"I immediately felt violated because I wasn’t expecting it or wanting it," she told the Washington Post in February, when she filed suit. "I can still see his lips coming straight for my face."
"He raped my cheek with an air-kiss!"
Johnson said she turned her head to avoid the smooch, which landed on her cheek, instead.

But witnesses including then-Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi said the incident never happened.

Johnson, who is African American, also made allegations of pay discrimination in her filing.

Judge William Jung tossed Johnson’s lawsuit Friday, saying that it included extraneous information ‐ including details of 19 other alleged incidents of sexual misconduct by Trump over the past 40 years ‐ and hinting that it was filed to score political
points.

"As currently stated, the Complaint presents a political lawsuit, not a tort and wages lawsuit," Jung wrote in the order. "If Plaintiff wishes to make a political statement or bring a claim for political purposes, this is not the forum."
