Saudi government allegedly funded a ‘dry run' for 9/11
Fresh evidence submitted in a major 9/11 lawsuit moving forward against the Saudi Arabian government reveals its embassy in Washington may have funded a "dry run" for the hijackings carried out by two Saudi employees, further reinforcing the claim employees and agents of the kingdom directed and aided the 9/11 hijackers and plotters.

Two years before the airliner attacks, the Saudi Embassy paid for two Saudi nationals, living undercover in the US as students, to fly from Phoenix to Washington "in a dry run for the 9/11 attacks," alleges the amended complaint filed on behalf of the families of some 1,400 victims who died in the terrorist attacks 16 years ago.

Citing FBI documents, the complaint alleges that the Saudi students ‐ Mohammed al-Qudhaeein and Hamdan al-Shalawi ‐ were in fact members of "the Kingdom's network of agents in the US," and participated in the terrorist conspiracy.

They had trained at al Qaeda camps in Afghanistan at the same time some of the hijackers were there. And while living in Arizona, they had regular contacts with a Saudi hijacker pilot and a senior al Qaeda leader from Saudi now incarcerated at Gitmo. At least one tried to re-enter the US a month before the attacks as a possible muscle hijacker but was denied admission because he appeared on a terrorist watch list.

Qudhaeein and Shalawi both worked for and received money from the Saudi government, with Qudhaeein employed at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs. Shalawi was also "a longtime employee of the Saudi government." The pair were in "frequent contact" with Saudi officials while in the US, according to the filings.

During a November 1999 America West flight to Washington, Qudhaeein and Shalawi are reported to have tried multiple times to gain access to the cockpit of the plane in an attempt to test flight-deck security in advance of the hijackings.

Hillary admits she had no concession speech ready
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha *deep breath* ahahahahhahahahh
Hillary Clinton was so confident she'd become the first female president of the United States that she only drafted a victory speech for Election Day and said after the stunning loss to Donald Trump she's "done with being a candidate."

"I am done with being a candidate," Clinton told CBS' "Sunday Morning." "But I am not done with politics because I literally believe that our country's future is at stake."

"I had not drafted a concession speech. I'd been working on a victory speech," Clinton said.

She retreated and hoped this nightmare scenario would pass: "I just kind of went in the bedroom had three 8 oz glasses of vodka, laid down on the bed, just thought, ‘Okay. I just have to wait this out.' But then, midnight, I decided, ‘well - you know, looks like it's not going to work.'"

Firemen Abandon Blaze After Being Attacked in Swedish No-Go Zone
Breitbart:
Firefighters in the southern Swedish city of Malmö were forced to let a building burn to the ground after they were violently attacked by locals who threw glass bottles at them.

The fire, which occurred in the city's suburb of Kroksback, initially started after two cars in a car park were set on fire Thursday at around 9 pm. Police and fire crews were called and arrived on the scene shortly after, whilst another fire started at a nearby building on Sörbäcksgatan street, police said in a press release.

As the firemen tried to put out the second blaze, glass bottles were thrown at them and at their vehicles. The attack forced the firemen to abandon the blaze which engulfed the building and burned it to the ground.

China-Japan-Koreas
North Korea's Kim Jong Un fetes nuclear scientists, hosts nukeapalooza
SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korean leader Kim Jong Un hosted a massive celebration to congratulate his nuclear scientists and technicians who steered the country’s sixth and largest nuclear test a week ago, its official news agency said on Sunday.

The United States and its allies had been bracing for another long-range missile launch in time for the 69th anniversary of North Korea’s founding on Saturday, but no fresh provocations were spotted while the North held numerous events to mark the holiday.

Throughout last week, South Korean officials had warned the North could launch another intercontinental ballistic missile in defiance of U.N. sanctions and amid an escalating standoff with the United States.

Washington told the U.N. Security Council on Friday to call a meeting on Monday to vote on a draft resolution establishing additional sanctions on North Korea for its missile and nuclear program.

Japanese Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera said it was vital to put pressure on North Korea through additional sanctions, including blocking or slowing its fuel supplies.

Deputy who went viral for delivering newborn dies of heart attack
[ABC] A police deputy who went viral twice online for his relationship with a Texas toddler has died.

Deputy Constable Mark Diebold died Thursday from a heart attack, according to the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office. The 48-year-old, who is a 23-year veteran officer, died after completing qualifications for the office's tactical team. Diebold was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Diebold initially earned the admiration of millions online after he helped Granbury, Texas couple Destiny and Caleb Hall give birth to their daughter, Evelyn, on the side of the road on July 18, 2016.

The Halls, who couldn't make it to the hospital in time, decided to honor Diebold in their newborn photo shoot last year, and the story quickly went viral.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iranian warship turns away U.S. battleship as Gulf tension flares: Tasnim
[Reuters Beirut] A rocket-bearing Iranian military vessel confronted an American battleship in the Gulf and warned it to stay away from a damaged Iranian fishing boat, the Tasnim news agency reported Sunday.

The American battleship turned away after the warning from the Iranian vessel, which belonged to the naval branch of the Iranian army, according to Tasnim.

The Iranian military vessel then towed the fishing boat, which had sent out a distress signal after taking on water, back to shore.

The site did not specify when the incident, which happened close to the strategic Straight of Hormuz, took place.

Tensions have been on the rise between the Iranian and U.S. military in the Gulf in recent months.

In early August, an unarmed Iranian drone came within 100 feet (31 meters) of a U.S. Navy warplane as it prepared to land on an aircraft carrier in the Gulf, a U.S. official said at the time.

And in late July, a U.S. Navy ship fired warning shots when an Iranian vessel in the Gulf came within 150 yards (137 meters) in the first such incident since President Donald Trump took office in January, U.S. officials said.

Years of mutual animosity had eased when Washington lifted sanctions on Tehran last year as part of a deal to curb Iran’s nuclear ambitions. But serious differences remain over Iran’s ballistic missile program and conflicts in Syria and Iraq.

The Trump administration, which has taken a hard line on Iran, recently declared that Iran was complying with its nuclear agreement with world powers, but warned that Tehran was not following the spirit of the accord and that Washington would look for ways to strengthen it.

During the presidential campaign last September, Trump vowed that any Iranian vessels that harass the U.S. Navy in the Gulf would be "shot out of the water."

Hurricane Update - More than 170K without power in Florida
[AP] ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. ‐ The Latest on Hurricane Irma (all times local):

Midnight

The National Hurricane Center says Irma’s projected path is continuing to shift to the west, just a few crucial miles, that should keep its eye just off Florida’s west coast on a track to hit St. Petersburg, not Miami or even Tampa.

The hurricane’s leading edge was already lashing the Florida Keys with hurricane force winds. If the center of the storm keeps moving over warm Gulf of Mexico water, it may regain more strength before making landfall again.

St. Petersburg, like Tampa, has not taken a head-on blow from a major hurricane in nearly a century. Clearwater would be next, and then the storm would finally go inland northwest of Ocala.

The storm currently has top sustained winds of 120 mph (193 kph) and is moving northward at about 6 mph (10 kph).

11:10 p.m.

More than 170,000 homes and businesses in Florida have lost power and the center of Irma is about 90 miles southeast of Key West.

Florida Power and Light said on its website that more than half of those outages were in the Miami-Dade area, where about 600,000 people have been ordered to evacuate.

The company has said it expects millions of people to lose power, with some areas experiences prolonged outages.

The company said it has assembled the largest pre-storm workforce in U.S. history, with more than 16,000 people ready to respond.

Miami Herald is offering free online coverage for the storm.

Home Front: Culture Wars
'Values' Update - Is the U.S. Declining Because Americans Abandoned ‘Bourgeois Values'?
[New York] It’s rare for an 800-word newspaper column to generate as much controversy as the one published a month ago in the Philadelphia Inquirer. In it, Amy Wax and Larry Alexander, law professors at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of San Diego, respectively, argued that the collapse of "bourgeois values" ‐ defined by the duo as, among other things, being "neighborly, civic-minded, and charitable," not using bad language, respecting authority, and eschewing "substance abuse and crime" ‐ can go a long way toward explaining what they see as America’s recent socioeconomic difficulties. They believe it accounts for social trends ranging from low male labor-force participation to the opioid crisis.

Key to their argument is the idea that some cultures embrace bourgeois values more than others:

All cultures are not equal. Or at least they are not equal in preparing people to be productive in an advanced economy. The culture of the Plains Indians was designed for nomadic hunters, but is not suited to a First World, 21st-century environment. Nor are the single-parent, antisocial habits, prevalent among some working-class whites; the anti-"acting white" rap culture of inner-city blacks; the anti-assimilation ideas gaining ground among some Hispanic immigrants. These cultural orientations are not only incompatible with what an advanced free-market economy and a viable democracy require, they are also destructive of a sense of solidarity and reciprocity among Americans. If the bourgeois cultural script ‐ which the upper-middle class still largely observes but now hesitates to preach ‐ cannot be widely reinstated, things are likely to get worse for us all.

It’s worth pointing out that this is not a new argument, of course ‐ it’s a mix of, among others, brand-name conservative figures like Richard Nixon and David Brooks and Charles Murray. Conservative critiques of the counterculture ethos, of the reckless individualism of the liberal ideal, have been going on for decades (or longer). Still, the Inquirer column caused an uproar on the Penn campus, and that uproar became a full-blown conflagration when Wax gave a provocative quote to the Daily Pennsylvanian, a Penn student newspaper, for an article about the growing controversy: "Everyone wants to go to countries ruled by white Europeans," she said, since those countries embody bourgeois values.

"Bourgeois values" is part of it. Part of the problem imposed by the current american mandarinocracy is that we don't even have the vocabulary to describe the problem.

The values that made us strong were Traditional British Protestant values. The Southern Baptist church down the street may not match that value set as well as one might hope, but everyone else, including the current iterations of the Episcopal Church and the Roman Catholic church, appear to be worse. Sinners in the hands of an angry gaia!

NFL Ratings Down Big on Opening Night Amid Renewed Anthem Protests
[Breitbart] The NFL opened its 2017 season Thursday night, in much the same way that it played out the 2016 season. The game featured the team that won the final game of the year last season, the game was high-scoring with plenty of offense, the game featured an anthem protest, and the league’s ratings went down.

The game between the Chiefs and the Patriots drew a 14.6 overnight rating on NBC. That rating is down nearly two full points from last year’s 16.5 number for the Panthers-Broncos opener, and more than three points down from the Steelers-Patriots opener in 2015.

Why, the steep decline?

While the ratings have clearly trended down for a number of seasons, last night’s game did feature an anthem protest from Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters, and it’s entirely likely that many tuned-out after seeing that:

#2  Why the steep decline?
Posted by: Besoeker || 09/10/2017 8:42 Comments || Top||

#3  ...The funny thing is that the NFL commissioned a secret study a few months ago wanting to know why revenue was down. The answer - clearly stated an backed up with real numbers - was the anthem protests. The reality is that they can NOT face the possibility that they have allowed their employees to utterly alienate the majority of their customers.

The NFL leadership read it, said, "Nahhh, that can't be right," and threw it away. They came up with a whole bunch of other reasons that were, at best, peripheral.

Any business that stupid is NOT getting my money. For the first time in memory - and I am old enough to remember going to Browns games and seeing Jim Brown roar down the field at Lakefront Stadium - I have no intention of watching even a single Browns game.

#4  Few things still symbolically unite Americans anymore, much of our shared culture is under attack. Respect for the symbol of the nation and it's anthem should be universal, recognizing that it represents deeply held beliefs and pride. When you choose that symbol to insult, you insult me personally. When you think I will then watch you as entertainment and buy the products displayed during that event, you are mistaken. Take your ignorant protest elsewhere before you ruin a great sport.

Roger Goodell isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, and I'm not just saying that because he screwed the Patriots on the trumped up Deflategate bullshit.

The lone 'protester (KC's CB Peters) was begrudgingly mentioned by Al Michaels, who has zero interest in covering these protests. I doubt he would have even mentioned it unless the suits at NBC had the proverbial gun to his head to do so, so this shit will keep up because it's coming from the top of the network collective.

#8  I gotta believe that most NFL owners are one helluva lot smarter than Spanos. The NFL didn't lose much with Kapernick. He has the physical skills but he's a head case whose best games are far behind him. It's gonna be a bit more difficult to let some of those other players go.

#9  This whole national anthem thing is so unnecessary--in all [North] American professional sports. It is a Cold War anachronism. Besides, with so many foreign players in the MLB, NHL, and the NBA (even throw in MLS), any national anthem before a PROFESSIONAL game is ridiculous. These anthems just don't have a place in pro sports.

BTW, having said that, no tears are shed by me about low NFL TV ratings, etc. None.

#10  I disagree, Clem. It kinda shows who we can trust and who we can't. If your foreign players don't like it they are free to go back to their countries of origin. If I was a guest in another country I would think of it as a courtesy to my hosts to stand and show respect at the playing of their national anthem.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
It's time to appoint a special prosecutor in Clinton email investigation
[The Hill] The competing partisan echo chambers eerily strike the same chords.

From the left: The investigation into the death of four Americans in Benghazi back in 2012 was a Sienfeldian investigation into nothing. In fact, the right was simply serving us all up a big nothing burger.

And from the right: The investigation into the 2016 Trump campaign’s alleged collusion with Russia is nothing more than a partisan witch-hunt. The left hasn’t accepted the results of a lawfully held election; ergo, the appointment of a special prosecutor.

Yes, the partisan bickering and finger-pointing can be so insufferably exhausting. The promises of "swamp-draining" ‐ Nancy Pelosi during her 2006 ascendancy to House Speaker and more recently, Donald Trump’s signature stump speech line ‐ really just signals more of the same.

So, I make the following demand with a bit of advised caution. History inside the Beltway has a habit of repeating itself.

But with all due haste, a special prosecutor needs to be appointed to the "closed" Hillary Rodham email investigation.

I can hear the cacophony of howling now ‐ Here we go again, yet another undeserved attack on the Clintons. Or, maybe this ‐ Republicans just can’t leave it alone. She was exonerated by no less an authority than the former FBI Director!

But in recent days, following the revelation that then FBI Director James B. Comey had already drafted an "exoneration speech" some two months before his infamous July 5 public statement, there has been a steadily building hue and cry from many corners that a special prosecutor needs to look into the case.

Comey’s decision, it appears, had been formed prior to FBI agents having had an opportunity to interview Clinton and a number of her top aides. On the heels of the inexplicable and unprecedented granting of head-scratching conditions to the Clinton team, came Comey’s decision not to charge, well before key witnesses were interviewed. Why?

Sayyaf warns sidelining of Mujahideen to have negative repercussions
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The former Afghan politician and Mujahideen leader Abdul Rab Rasool Sayyaf
...Afghan Salafist warlord, owned by Saudi Arabia. He was the guy who invited al-Qaeda to come into Afghanistan and make themselves at home...
once again warned against efforts aimed at sidelining of the Mujahideen from the political and other affairs of the country.

Speaking during a ceremony in Kabul, Sayyaf said Mujahideen are like the armor vests and emphasized that the sidelining of the Mujahideen will have negative repercussions and will encourage the enemy to carry out more destructive activities like jackals.

Sayyaf further added that the country and the nation are not only facing the menace of terrorism and extremism but corruption and debauchery also remains as one of the key issues threatening the country.

He warned that the current fight will not yield positive results unless the nation unites to fight the corruption and growing debauchery.

In other parts of his speech, he expressed regarding the efforts to spark differences among the people through ethnic divisions and other means.

He said preferring a specific ethnic group or language is not a crime but using them to spark divisions is a major sin and crime.

Sayyaf also called on Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
to join grinding of the peace processor and keep their weapons and ammunition for the defense of the country.

Rohingya Muslims among 1,000 killed in Myanmar: UN rapporteur
[DAWN] More than 1,000 people might already have been killed in Myanmar, mostly minority Rohingya Moslems ‐ more than twice the government’s total ‐ a senior United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
representative said on Friday, urging Aung San Suu Kyi to speak out against the deaths.

In the last two weeks alone 270,000 mostly Rohingya civilians have fled to Bangladesh, overwhelming refugee camps that were already bursting at the seams, the UN said.

Others have died trying to flee the fighting in Rakhine state, where witnesses say entire villages have been burned since Rohingya bully boyz launched a series of coordinated attacks on August 25, prompting a military-led crackdown.

On the basis of witness testimonies and the pattern of previous outbreaks of violence, said Yanghee Lee, the UN special rapporteur on human rights
...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions...
in Myanmar, "perhaps about a thousand or more are already dead".

"This might be from both sides but it would be heavily concentrated on the Rohingya population."

#1  Guerrilla warfare was fairly unusual and ineffectual way back when. The low-tech and simple counter was to hold the population in a given area responsible for any attacks. This meant the complete destruction of the homes in a given area and/or the massacre/sale into slavery of that population, so as to deprive the guerrillas of a means of support.

The massacre at Lidice, in reprisal for the assassination of Heydrich, was held to be a great horror. But it was really a return to the past, back when the lives of conquerors and combatants were held to be paramount. Otherwise, why go to war?

Rebellions in the Orient seldom last very long. Oriental combatants have simply not learned to respect the well-being of the people they aspire to either rule or continue to rule. When the Communists took power, in China, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia, they simply massacred the recalcitrants. In many cases, instead of wasting bullets, they merely put them in slave labor camps and killed them via malnutrition. The Indonesian response to a communist revolt was to kill hundreds of thousands of the revolutionaries. In neither instance was the response particularly novel either in the Orient or around the world - recall the Roman response to Bar Kochba's revolt.

UN: South Sudan election risks prolonging civil war
[Al Jazeera] South Sudan's plan to hold elections next year risks "deepening and extending" an already devastating civil war, the United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
warned.

Haile Menkerios, the UN secretary-general's special envoy to the African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
, expressed concern
...meaning the brow was mildly wrinkled, the eyebrows drawn slightly together, and a thoughtful expression assumed, not that anything was actually done or indeed that any thought was actually expended...
about the elections planned for July 2018 during a joint meeting of the visiting UN Security Council and the African Union's Peace and Security Council.

South Sudan's election can only be held in a stable environment where "people are not displaced by violence and hunger and in which they are able to express their political views free from intimidation," the envoy said on Friday.

President Salva Kiir seeks an election that will be the first vote on his leadership since South Sudan won independence in 2011 from Sudan.

Presidential elections set for 2015 were delayed by civil war that began in late 2013.

Strip club boss, Tamron Hall, Rev. Jackson pulled into Jackson divorce
[CHICAGO.SUNTIMES] Television news hound Tamron Hall, the Rev. Jesse Jackson, a strip-club boss and a model whom Jesse Jackson Jr. has acknowledged was a "social acquaintance" ‐ are among 12 people Sandi Jackson is seeking to make part of her intensifying divorce case in Washington, D.C., new court filings show.

The filings mark the latest salvo in the high-profile case, which had been simmering down after Jesse Jackson Jr., the former South Side and south suburban congressman, and Sandi Jackson, reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,...
’s former 7th Ward alderman, had agreed to litigate the matter in Washington, where Sandi Jackson lives with the couple’s two children, rather than in Chicago, where the former congressman is living.

In late April, the pair ‐ who each served prison time for diverting $750,000 in political campaign contributions for their personal use ‐ had agreed to mediate their divorce case to avoid a potentially sensational trial where allegations of "extramarital affairs" could be publicly detailed, according to court records.

Egypt court issues preliminary death sentences against 11 on terror-related charges
[AlAhram] Giza Criminal Court sentenced Saturday 11 members of what is known in the media as the "Giza terrorist cell" to death on a number of terror-related charges.

The court’s preliminary death verdict is scheduled to be referred to the country’s Grand Mufti for a consultative non-binding opinion, as per Egypt’s penal code.

The 11 faced charges including attempting to kill two police personnel, stealing police weapons, manufacturing bombs, belonging to an unlawful group, and attacking personal freedoms.

Following the dispersal of two major sit-ins supporting ousted Islamist president Mohammed Morsi on 14 August 2013, angry rioters stormed cop shoppes and burned a number of churches.

Hundreds of people have been convicted in similar cases since 2013.

The rise and ‘fall’ of Ansarul Sharia Pakistan
[DAWN] Just a few months after coming into the limelight, the Al Qaeda-inspired Death Eater group Ansarul Sharia Pakistain (ASP) comprising hardly 10 fighters has been busted with almost all its members taken into custody and being interrogated, sources confirmed to Dawn on Friday.

Police Sherlocks and intelligence officials, who appear to have become more aggressive in chasing suspects associated with the group, found during the course of investigation that the "highly qualified" ASP Death Eaters derived their ideology from Al Qaeda and operated from their homes in the metropolis.

A security official said that the exact date of the formation of this outfit was still not known though it was initially believed that the genesis of the group could be traced to Paks fighting in Syria. As this group had been operating under the umbrella of Jabhat al-Nusra
...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli al-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ...
, its loyalty was to the traditional Al Qaeda leadership under Ayman al-Zawahiri
... Formerly second in command of al-Qaeda, now the head cheese, occasionally described as the real brains of the outfit. Formerly the Mister Big of Egyptian Islamic Jihad. Bumped off Abdullah Azzam with a car boom in the course of one of their little disputes. Is thought to have composed bin Laden's fatwa entitled World Islamic Front Against Jews and Crusaders. Currently residing in the North Wazoo area assuming he's not dead like Mullah Omar. He lost major face when he ordered the nascent Islamic State to cease and desist and merge with the orthodx al-Qaeda spring, al-Nusra...
rather than the Death Eater Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group leader His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
...formerly merely the head of ISIL and a veteran of the Bagram jailhouse. Looks like a new messiah to bajillions of Moslems, like just another dead-eyed mass murder to the rest of us...
, said the bigwig on condition of anonymity.

In Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
their activities were noticed for the first time in April when they claimed the responsibility for killing a retired colonel in the Baloch Colony area, but the ASP had been active before when its members had bumped off a guard of Police Foundation in an attack in Gulistan-e-Jauhar in February this year.

An official familiar with the investigations told Dawn that it later emerged that the Police Foundation guard had been targeted on the suspicion of being an official of regular police force.

The name and activities of this organization first time came into notice of the law enforcers when the ASP grabbed credit for targeting retired colonel Tahir Zia Nagi, off Sharea Faisal, in the Baloch Colony area, said a security official.

But forensic examination of arms used in previous assassination'>assassinations revealed that it had been active in Karachi since February 2017.

Initially, the Death Eaters linked with ASP tended to carry out assassinations with a gap of a few months. But as their confidence rose, they reduced this gap to one month and later started carrying out assassinations almost on a weekly basis.

"Investigators probing all the recent major terror acts in the metropolis this year arrived at two conclusions. Firstly, the assailants tended to prefer soft targets and they appeared to be more interested in saving their lives than facing resistance," said one senior police official privy to the development.

Ashley Sharpton, who turned 30 Friday, is facing charges of petty larceny and criminal possession of stolen property after she allegedly grabbed the keys from a cabbie on W. 48th and Ninth Ave., then shoved and punched the cab driver when he demanded them back.

"She told me it didn't happen the way they said it happened but I can't speak for a 30-year-old woman," Al Sharpton told the Daily News Saturday morning.

But hours later, during his weekly National Action Network rally at the group’s Harlem headquarters, Rev. Sharpton claimed she was targeted by police because she’s his daughter.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Syrian army breaks ISIL siege in Deir Az Zor airbase
[Al Jazeera] The Syrian army and allied forces have broken ISIS's siege on Deir Az Zor military airport, state media said on Saturday, hours after US-backed fighters announced a separate push against the gang in the oil-rich eastern province.

State news agency SANA said the breach came "after the forces advancing from the cemetery southwest of the city linked up with the forces holding the air base".

The latest advance of the Russia-backed forces came days after they ended another siege on residential districts of the city as they seek to oust ISIS from its last major stronghold in Syria.

Earlier on Saturday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), a coalition of Kurdish and Arab fighters, said they had also launched an anti-ISIS offensive from the north of Deir Az Zor city, aiming to clear the group from territory east of the Euphrates River.

The operation brought them into a race with the government forces marching in the same direction.

Ahmad Abu Khawlah, head of SDF's Deir Az Zor Military Council, said his forces had begun fighting to push ISIS out of remaining territory in Hasakeh province and further south in Deir Az Zor in eastern Syria.

The announcement came as Syrian government forces, backed by Russian air power and Hezbollah fighters, closed in from the south of Deir Az Zor city in a separate military campaign against ISIS.

The dueling battles for Deir Az Zor highlight the importance of the key eastern province, which has become the latest epicentre of the international war against ISIS, raising concerns of an eventual clash between the two sides.

Al Jazeera's Mohammed Jamjoom, reporting from Beirut, the capital of neighbouring Syria, described the double offensive as "a race against the clock to see which of these two competing forces can have dominance in this oil-rich area".

He added: "Whoever is going to get more of this province is going to control more of the oil, and this really sets up what has been a regional rivalry to see who can take over more territory in Syria since the beginning of this war."

Muslim college student who lied about Trump supporter subway attack pleads guilty
[NYDAILYNEWS] The Moslem college student who lied to cops about getting attacked on the subway by drunken Trump supporters took a plea deal on Friday.

Yasmin Seweid, 19, copped to falsely reporting an incident and disorderly conduct for the bogus claim.

Seweid, of New Hyde Park, L.I., said hate-filled white men harassed her and tried to snatch the hijab off her head during an encounter on the No. 6 train on Dec. 1.

Seweid previously admitted she wasted police resources to cover up for her missed curfew.

She must go through six months of counseling and complete three days of community service.

If Seweid fulfills the terms of her deal, the top charge against her will be tossed and she'll be left with just a violation.

The prosecutor read an apology letter from Seweid.

"I was stupid," the teen wrote. "I plan to continue to find ways to better myself."

Abdullah calls Taliban a ‘terrorist group’
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The chief executive of the government of national unity Abdullah Abdullah

group a ’terrorist group’ as Afghanistan marks the week of deaders by paying tribute to the national hero Ahmad Shah Massoud who was assassinated six years ago.

In a statement released on the occasion of week of deaders, Abdullah said the terrorist groups including Taliban, Haqqani network, and others still operate from their safe havens located on the side of the border and continue to their savagery against the Afghan people.

Abdullah further added that the Afghan forces are however busy in suppressing their attacks and conspiracies they hatch against the Afghan nation.

He also added that the BRIX summit members endorsed the efforts and fight of the Afghan cops against the terrorist groups.

According to Abdullah, the members o the BRIX summit also called on Pakistain to assist the Afghan government and international community in eliminating the safe havens of the terrorist groups and their menace from the region.

The Afghan officials have long been insisting that the ongoing violence in the country has direct links with the freedom of movement and sanctuaries of the Taliban and Haqqani network in Pakistain.

Texas lawyer says he would ‘be ok’ if Betsy DeVos were sexually assaulted
[WASHINGTONTIMES] A lawyer in Texas who disagrees with the Trump administration’s plan to reform how accusations of sexual assault are adjudicated on campus said he would "be ok" if Education Secretary Betsy DeVos were sexually assaulted.

Rob Ranco, a partner at the Carlson Law Firm, suggested Mrs. DeVos does not fully grasp how serious of a crime rape is, and that she might come to a different policy conclusion if she did.

"I’m not wishing for it... but I’d be ok if #BetsyDevos was sexually assaulted," Mr. Ranco said in a tweet on Friday evening.

"Perhaps Betsy doesn’t understand how horrible rape is," Mr. Ranco said in another tweet. "She’s made the world more dangerous for my daughters. I need her to understand."

"Make the world more dangerous for my daughters ‐ intentionally ‐ and your well being is not my concern," he continued. "Full stop."

On 8 September at 18:08 a car blast rocked the area of Bessarabska Ploshcha in the center of Kyiv. Preliminarily, an unidentified explosive device was planted in the Black Toyota Camry with a Georgian registration plate.

The spokesman for the Ministry of Internal Affairs Artem Shevchenko has reported that Timur Makhauri, a national of Georgia, died in the accident. Two more passengers were in the car, a woman was brought in hospital, a child survived, according to Shevchenko.

Philippines won’t let Daesh flee in exchange for hostages: Duterte
[Iran Press TV] Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte says the country will not allow ISIS Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
Lions of Islam to escape the country’s southern city of Marawi in return for release of dozens of hostages they hold.

"No way," Duterte told news hounds in response to a question about a report that the Takfiri group’s local leader Omarkhayam Maute has offered to free an estimated number of 20 to 30 hostages in Marawi in exchange for the safe exit of the murderous Moslems.

"If I can save one life there, I am willing to wait one year (to retake the city)" Duterte said in Cagayan de Oro, a few hours away from Marawi.

In May, the Lions of Islam captured large parts of Marawi on the island of Mindanao and managed to continue the occupation of the city, despite over 100 days of Arclight airstrikes and ground attacks by government troops.

According to the army, nearly 655 murderous Moslems, 45 civilians and 145 soldiers and coppers have been killed in Marawi, while 1,728 civilians have been rescued. At least 400,000 have been displaced.

The military has launched its final push to recapture Marawi, which has been devastated by artillery and bombings, as troops try to secure buildings and navigate through mines and booby traps.

The army says the Takfiri Lions of Islam are forcing some of the hostages to take up arms against the government troops.

The army has imposed martial law on Mindanao Island, which is home to 22 million people, until the end of 2017, in an attempt to prevent formation of an alliance between ISIS and other murderous Moslem groups.

Army front man Colonel Edgard Arevalo said rescuing the hostages will be the top priority for the army, adding, "We are still very mindful of the presence of civilians - guns against their heads - who were made human shields or ordered to wield firearms and ammunition, were converted to become fighters and shoot at our troops."

Houthi deputy interior minister calls for Sanaa state of emergency
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Abdul Hakim al-Khaiwani, a senior figure with the Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
militias has called for the declaration of a state of emergency in the Yemeni capital Sanaa and areas that are still under the control of his militia.

Khaiwani vowed to arrest the person responsible for the incidents in the capital Sanaa on August 27 between the Houthi and the militias loyal to ousted former president President-for-Life Ali Abdullah Saleh
... Saleh initially took power as a strongman of North Yemen in 1977, when disco was in flower, but he didn't invite Donna Summer to the inauguration and Blondie couldn't make it...
, who the Houthis recently had a falling out with.

"It is necessary to declare a state of emergency," said Khaiwani, a deputy interior minister in the unrecognized coup government. This comes as a result of splitting differences with their main partner in the coup, the ousted militia of Saleh, despite the apparent truce between the two parties.

Khaiwani, who was appointed by the Houthis as a general despite lacking any military and security background and named deputy interior minister, urged the so-called political council (formed by the two sides of the coup) to quickly declare a state of emergency. He said that "the declaration of a state of emergency will enable the security services to prosecute and convict criminals, and the different organisms of the state will work so much better," as he put it.

Al-Mesbahi and Saleh’s heir
In his statement about the festivities that took place in the Mesbahi tour in the center of the Yemeni capital between his group and the militia of ousted Saleh which resulted in deaths and injuries on both sides on August 27, the Houthi official criticized their allies in the coup.

Earlier, the interior ministry issued a statement without the knowledge of its minister (belonging to the Congress Party of Salah), describing the festivities as with "armed outlaws," referring to Salah’s heir and members of his bodyguards.

Khaiwani vowed to arrest the main aggressor in that incident, in a clear reference to the son of the ousted Saleh. Since the festivities, Houthi leaders have been demanding his arrest.

German Woman on Trial in Turkey over Failed Coup
[AnNahar] A 49-year-old German woman is standing trial in a Ottoman Turkish court accused of having links to the alleged criminal mastermind of last year's failed coup, German media reported Friday.

The accused, who has not been named, faces several years in jail if found guilty of belonging to the movement of US-based holy man Fethullah Gulen
... a Turkish preacher living in Pennsylvania whom the current govt of Turkey considers responsible for all the ills afflicting Turkey and possibly the entire world...
, which has been branded a terror organization by Ankara, the reports said.

At the trial in the southern city of Karaman, prosecutors accused her not only of membership of the group, which The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
calls FETO, but said she led one of its local women's organizations.

Gulen, an Islamic preacher who lives in exile in the US state of Pennsylvania, denies any link to the botched putsch in July 2016.

The prosecutors said they have electronic proof of the woman's alleged actions against the Ottoman Turkish state that were uncovered during raids at her apartment in Turkey.

The Ottoman Turkish-born woman, who became a German national about 15 years ago, was tossed in the clink
I ain't sayin' nuttin' widdout me mout'piece!
in August 2016, becoming the first German citizen to be detained after the attempted overthrow of President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
She was granted conditional release in September but not allowed to leave Turkey.

But her case is far lower in profile than that of Deniz Yucel, a correspondent for the Die Welt daily newspaper, whose arrest in February on terror charges sparked outrage in Germany.

German journalist Mesale Tolu has been held on similar charges since May, while human rights
...which often include carefully measured allowances of freedom at the convenience of the state...
activist Peter Steudtner was arrested in a July raid.

At least 10 Germans are currently detained in Turkey for political reasons, according to the German foreign ministry.

Iraq
Iraq steps up strikes on ISIS-held Hawija ahead of offensive
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The Iraqi air force and the US-led coalition have stepped up a campaign of Arclight airstrikes on the ISIS group-held town of Hawija ahead of a planned ground assault there, according to Iraq’s minister of defense on Saturday.

Iraqi forces are pushing IS out of the remaining pockets of territory the group holds in the country after forces backed by the US-led coalition retook Iraq’s second largest city of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
in July.

"There are large operations underway ahead of the liberation of Hawija and surrounding areas," Iraqi Defense Minister Erfan al-Hayali told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named, explaining that his forces were working closely with Iraqi Kurdish forces known as the Peshmerga as well as the coalition.

Last month, the Iraqi military command overseeing the ISIS fight declared victory in Tal Afar, west of Mosul and announced Hawija, 240 kilometers north of Baghdad, would be the next battle against the holy warriors.

The stepped-up coalition strikes are targeting ISIS territory in western Anbar as well as Hawija, said US Army Colonel Ryan Dillon, coalition front man.

Simultaneous attacks
"Coming off of their victory in Tal Afar (Iraqi security forces) will use a lot of the same techniques," Dillon said. "Simultaneous attacks proved to be very successful as did operations ahead of time to let civilians know what to do."

Defense Minister al-Hayali said his forces began radio broadcasts and leaflet drops on Hawija warning civilians of the planned push.

The United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
said the operation to retake Tal Afar forced some 20,000 people to flee, according to counts by Iraqi authorities. When the fight for Hawija begins, the UN estimates some 60,000 people will be affected.

Boko Haram kills seven in attack on displaced camp
[AlAhram] At least seven people were killed when Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
jihadists attacked a camp for people displaced by the conflict in northeast Nigeria
... a particularly crimson stretch of Islam's bloody border...
, militia members and locals said Saturday.

The attack on Friday evening in Ngala, near the border with Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
, came as two people were killed in an kaboom outside another camp in the Borno state capital, Maiduguri.

In Ngala, a civilian militia member, Umar Kachalla, said jihadists in two pick-up trucks fired a rocket-propelled grenade at the camp, which houses some 80,000 people.

"They (Boko Haram) fired an RPG into the camp from behind the fire fence, killing seven people and injuring several others," he told AFP from the neighbouring town of Gamboru.

The attack, which happened at about 8:00 pm (1900 GMT), was followed by sustained gunfire as the jihadists drove away into the darkness, he added.

Ngala resident Abubakar Yusuf, who corroborated Kachalla's account, said: "The casualties were relatively minimal because most people had retired for the night."

The camp in Ngala was set up in January last year after the return of thousands of Nigerian refugees from Cameroon, where they had fled the fighting.

Boko Haram seized the trading hubs of Gamboru and Ngala in August 2014, during the group's rapid seizure of territory across Borno state and the wider northeast.

Nigerian troops retook both towns in September 2015 with the help of Chadian forces.

But despite the recapture of the area, Boko Haram fighters still launch sporadic attacks, laying ambush to troops and vehicles as well as attacking and abducting farmers.

Nigeria's military and government maintains the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group affiliate is a spent force but continued attacks underlines the lingering threat, particularly to civilians.

Eight farmers were killed in a series of raids on farming communities on Wednesday and Thursday. Four others were rubbed out on Tuesday.

Many of the victims had returned home to try to grow crops to alleviate acute food shortages that have left hundreds of thousands of people on the brink of starvation.

Amnesia Amnesty International said a spurt in Boko Haram attacks has left nearly 400 people dead since April in Nigeria and Cameroon -- double the figure of the previous five months.

In Maiduguri on Friday, two people were killed in an kaboom outside the Muna Garage camp for internally displaced people (IDPs).

Babakura Kolo, from the civilian militia assisting the military with security, said two women were asked to get out of a taxi laden with bags of charcoal at a checkpoint.

"One of the women tried to run into a crowd nearby but the explosives concealed under her hijab went off prematurely," he said.

"A female passenger in the taxi and a rickshaw driver trailing behind were killed in the kaboom," he said in an account supported by a militia colleague, Musa Ari.

Five people -- the taxi driver, another passenger and three men in the rickshaw -- were maimed, they added.

Kolo, who was at the scene, said a secondjacket wallah'> exploding trollop female suicide bomber was also killed with the first in the initial blast.

Michelle Obama outshines all Democratic prospects for 2020
[THEHILL] It cannot be overstated how eagerly the Democrats want to take back the White House in 2020.
Because of her experience as an executive...
The Democrats face many obstacles in this effort, but the greatest threat is the fierce internal divisions within the party.

... and all she did to provide delicious school lunches to our kids...
The Democratic Party does not just need a new leader, but a new policy agenda that is aimed at growing our economy, promoting traditional party values and doing more than resisting President Trump at every step.

As I’ve said before, the Democrats need an alternative plan to rebuild and unite the party if they have any hope in winning back seats in Congress in the 2018 midterms, nonetheless the White House in 2020.
Other than The Resistance®?
This alternative plan requires a new, united opposition, led by a political leader with widespread popularity.
And who, who might that be?
The only person I can see accomplishing this would be none other than the party’s most popular political figure: Michelle Obama.
Yay. Hurray.
Let me be clear: This is not an endorsement. I have been, and still am, critical of Barack Obama
Because I won...

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Terror attacks against Israelis drop following harsh July
[IsraelTimes] Attacks in August resulted in two injuries, both from stabbings; there were no fatalities

The number of terrorist attacks targeting Israelis fell by more than half last month from July, constituting the sharpest decrease in incidents since 2015.

The Shin Bet recorded 110 terrorist attacks in August compared to 222 the previous month, when tensions around the Temple Mount compound in Jerusalem generated a major spike in incidents, the agency said in its monthly report published earlier this week.

The decrease brought the number of attacks back to a level similar from before the July conflagration, which resulted in the highest number of incidents in any month since December 2015. From January 2016 onward, Israel saw on average 121 attacks against its citizens per month.

The attacks in August resulted in two injuries, both from stabbings. There were no fatalities in August from terrorist attacks against Israelis. July was one of the deadliest months in terms of Israeli victims of terrorist attacks since 2015, with five dead, including two coppers near the Temple Mount.

The decrease in terrorist activity was especially steep in Jerusalem, where the 24 attacks in August represented a 73 percent drop. The decrease in the West Bank was less dramatic: a 36% drop to 83 incidents.

In July, three Arab bandidos Lions of Islam killed the two officers before being rubbed out. Israel placed metal detectors at the entrance to the Temple Mount, a compound that is holy both to Jews and Moslems. Riots ensued, leading Israel to dismantle the metal detectors two weeks after installing them.

Hamas' Ismail Haniya visits Egypt for Gaza siege talks
[Al Jazeera] The head of Paleostinian group Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",, Ismail Haniya, has travelled to Cairo to hold talks with senior Egyptian officials about the blockade of Gazoo, on his first such visit since his election in May.

Hamas controls the Gazoo Strip, a densely populated coastal territory that shares borders with Egypt and Israel, with which it has fought three wars since 2008.

For much of the last decade, Egypt has joined Israel in enforcing a crippling blockade that has deprived the enclave's roughly two million inhabitants of most basic commodities, including food, fuel and medicine.

positions in eastern Nuristan province of Afghanistan, leaving over fifty Lions of Islam dead, the local officials said Saturday.

The provincial police chief of Nuristan General Mohiuddin Sarwari confirmed that the Arclight airstrikes were carried out on Friday in the vicinity of Barg-e-Matal district.

Gen. Mohiuddin further added that the information received by Nuristan police indicates at least fifty five Taliban hard boyz were killed.

He said two big shots of the Taliban group identified as Ismail and Fazal Karim were also among those killed.

Gen. Sarwari said several weapons of the Taliban hard boyz including a 82mm artillery of them was also destroyed.

In the meantime, the 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan army in the East said the Arclight airstrikes were carried out using the A-29 Super Tucano aircrafts.

The source further added that the raids were conducted as scores of Taliban hard boyz had gathered in the area.

U.S. Citizen Pleads Guilty To Providing Material Support To Al Shabaab
[RADIOSHABELLE] Maalik Alim Jones, 32, a U.S. citizen who resided in Maryland until 2011, pleaded guilty to conspiring to provide material support to al-Shabaab
... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
, a designated foreign terrorist organization based in Somalia, conspiring to receive military training from al-Shabaab, and carrying and using an AK-47 machine gun, rocket-propelled grenades and other weapons in furtherance of his support for al-Shabaab.

Acting Assistant Attorney General for National Security Dana J. Boente and Acting U.S. Attorney Joon H. Kim for the Southern District of New York made the announcement. U.S. District Judge Paul G. Gardephe presided over the hearing.

"Jones pleaded guilty to conspiring to provide material support to al-Shabaab, by traveling abroad to join and fight on behalf of the foreign terrorist organization for four years," said Acting Assistant Attorney General Boente. "I want to thank the many prosecutors, agents, and analysts who made this result possible."

"As he admitted in court today, Maalik Jones traveled to Somalia, was trained by al-Shabaab in the use of an AK-47 and rocket-propelled grenades and took up arms for four years as a terrorist fighter," said Acting U.S. Attorney Kim "For his allegiance to this lawless, terrorist organization that vows to destroy America and its values, Maalik Jones been held to account in an American court of law. All that is left is for him to be sentenced for his crimes."

According to the Complaint, the Indictment, the Superseding Information, and statements made in court proceedings, including today’s guilty plea:

In 2011, Jones traveled via commercial aircraft from New York to Kenya, with stopovers in Morocco and the United Arab Emirates. After arriving in Kenya, Jones traveled by land from Kenya to Somalia where he trained, worked and fought with al-Shabaab in Somalia. Among other things, Jones received military training at an al-Shabaab training camp, where he learned to operate an AK-47 assault rifle and rocket-propelled grenades. Jones also became a member of al-Shabaab’s specialized fighting force, Jaish Ayman, and participated in combat against soldiers of the Kenyan government on behalf of al-Shabaab.

In particular, after joining Jaish Ayman, Jones and his Jaish Ayman unit participated in a battle in Afmadow, Somalia, against Kenyan government soldiers. Jones, armed with an AK-47 rifle, engaged in the fighting until he was injured by a missile and then hospitalized. After his release from the hospital, Jones returned to his service with al-Shabaab and, in particular, Jaish Ayman.

The material support count carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison. The military training count carries a maximum sentence of 5 years in prison. The machinegun count carries a maximum sentence of life in prison, with a mandatory minimum sentence of 30 years in prison, which must run consecutively to any other sentence. The maximum statutory sentence is prescribed by Congress and is provided here for informational purposes. The sentencing of the defendant will be determined by the court after considering the advisory Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors. Jones, who has been detained since his arrest in December 2015, will be sentenced by Judge Gardephe on Jan. 25, 2018.

Homes were razed, and food and livestock seized in an apparent reprisal attack against young men joining the civilian militia, which helps the military with security.

"They killed eight farmers in the raids and burnt three villages which forced farmers to abandon their farms," said one militia leader, Ibrahim Liman.

Some 17 Islamist fighters stormed Mallan village at about 8:00 am (0700 GMT) on Thursday, killing two farmers.

Three people were rubbed out in the same village on Wednesday night, said resident Jidda Kori, who fled to Maiduguri.

"They mainly targeted young men in the attacks because they believe every young man is a member of the civilian vigilante" he added.

"They burnt down the entire village and took away our food, livestock and 13 bicycles."

Kesa Kura village, which is near Mallan, was also attacked on Wednesday night, killing three people, said resident Mohammed Ahmed.

Another village, Manjita, was razed but residents managed to flee after they were alerted by people fleeing Mallan, he added.

The eight-year Boko Haram conflict has forced farmers and their families to flee their homes and fields, leading to a shortage of food and exacerbating a humanitarian crisis.

Many were living in camps for the displaced in and around Maiduguri but had moved back to their homes because of apparent successes in the counter-insurgency.

A cash funding shortfall for feeding programs has also forced people to leave the camps to try to resume farming in liberated areas after three missed seasons.

On Monday, four people were killed in a drive-by shooting on a group of farmers working on their fields in Ngawo Fato Bulabulin village outside Maiduguri.

Last week a farmer was rubbed out and four others were kidnapped by the jihadists as they worked on their farms near the town of Konduga, 38 kilometers (24 miles) from Maiduguri.

#10  Antisocial Personality Disorder (APD)
Symptoms By Steve Bressert, Ph.D.

Antisocial personality disorder is a disorder that is characterized by a long-standing pattern of disregard for other people’s rights, often crossing the line and violating those rights. A person with antisocial personality disorder (APD) often feels little or no empathy toward other people, and doesn’t see the problem in bending or breaking the law for their own needs or wants. The disorder usually begins in childhood or as a teen and continues into a person’s adult life.

Antisocial personality disorder is often referred to as psychopathy or sociopathy in popular culture. However, neither psychopathy nor sociopathy are recognized professional labels used for diagnosis.

Individuals with antisocial personality disorder frequently lack empathy and tend to be callous, cynical, and contemptuous of the feelings, rights, and sufferings of others. They may have an inflated and arrogant self-appraisal (e.g., feel that ordinary work is beneath them or lack a realistic concern about their current problems or their future) and may be excessively opinionated, self-assured, or cocky. They may display a glib, superficial charm and can be quite voluble and verbally facile (e.g., using technical terms or jargon that might impress someone who is unfamiliar with the topic).

Lack of empathy, inflated self-appraisal, and superficial charm are features that have been commonly included in traditional conceptions of psychopathy and may be particularly distinguishing of antisocial personality disorder in prison or forensic settings where criminal, delinquent, or aggressive acts are likely to be nonspecific. These individuals may also be irresponsible and exploitative in their sexual relationships.

A personality disorder is an enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates from the norm of the individual’s culture. The pattern is seen in two or more of the following areas: cognition; affect; interpersonal functioning; or impulse control. The enduring pattern is inflexible and pervasive across a broad range of personal and social situations. It typically leads to significant distress or impairment in social, professional, or other areas of functioning. The pattern is stable and of long duration, and its onset can be traced back to early adulthood or adolescence.

First-ever Arabic hotline for male victims of sexual abuse opens in Tel Aviv
[IsraelTimes] Initiative launched after study found Arab boys nearly 60% more likely to be victims than their female counterparts.

In November 2016, researchers at Haifa University published a startling finding: Arab boys in Israel were much more likely to be sexually abused than either their female counterparts, or Jewish boys and girls.

Nearly 30% of Arab boys in Israel surveyed said they’d been victims of sexual assault. That’s in comparison to 17-18% of Arab girls, or Jewish boys and girls, who reported being sexually assaulted.

Chen Avidar, 32, a Jewish Ph.D. student at Tel Aviv University studying to become a therapist, took notice of this phenomenon and two months ago opened the first-ever sexual assault hotline for Arab men in Arabic.

The new hotline, which is part of the Tel Aviv Sexual Assault Crisis Center, is meant to serve both Arab Israelis and Paleostinians.

Eran Han, the manager of the center, said the decision to provide services to Paleostinians was made "the moment we decided to be accessible to Arab men" in Israel. Advertisements for the hotline have a specific number for Paleostinians to use, because the regular number for the hotline is only usable in Israel. Han added that in the past the center had given aid to Arab men, but only in Hebrew.

Paleostinian women already have sexual abuse hotlines in Jerusalem and Ramallah. There also two 24/7 hotlines for female Arab victims of sexual assault in Israel in Arabic and nine different hotlines for women in Hebrew.

The Haifa University study that discovered the high rate of sexual abuse suffered by Arab boys said it was the largest survey of its kind ever. The study was based on data collected from 12,035 Jewish and Arab students, in 6th, 8th and 10th grade. The study found that Arab children reported higher maltreatment than their Jewish counterparts in all categories tested for ‐ including physical, sexual, verbal and emotional abuse.

The study also found that Arab boys reported higher levels of abuse than Arab girls in all categories tested for, except for exposure to domestic violence.

Explanations for the higher rate of abuse among Arabs in general, the report said, include different "culture-specific parenting styles practiced in minority cultures," as well as the fact that the Arab community in Israel, compared with the Jewish majority, is characterized by higher rates of poverty and unemployment. Another explanation given is that Arab Israelis generally live in rural areas, where they have less access to social and welfare services.

As to why Arab boys are particularly vulnerable to sexual abuse, the study does not provide any explanations, but Avidar said during his research he has managed to come up with a few.

Arab boys are far less supervised than Arab girls, he said, and this leaves them "more exposed to perpetrators outside of the family context."

He added that potential victimizers understand there are higher consequences for abusing girls, including possible pregnancy and the initiation of a blood feud between families. There is also the fact that when girls are sexually abused, it leaves the evidence of a broken hymen. Girls are also more afraid of being blamed for their victimhood, he said, so it’s likely they report sexual abuse less.

UC Berkeley offers counseling ahead of talk by Jewish conservative
[IsraelTimes] Ben Shapiro calls school's offer, in letter outlining heightened security measures over speech, 'total insanity'

The University of Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, at Berkeley sent out a letter on Thursday informing students, faculty and staff that counseling services would be made available ahead of a talk at the campus next week by a conservative Jewish commentator.

In the letter, which outlines preparations being taken by the school ahead of Ben Shapiro’s visit, the executive vice chancellor and provost of the university Paul Alivisatos wrote that the school is "deeply concerned about the impact some speakers may have on individuals’ sense of safety and belonging" and therefore "offered and encouraged" faculty and staff to take advantage of the support services offered by the school.

"No one should be made to feel threatened or harassed simply because of who they are or for what they believe," he wrote in the letter, which included links to services such as mental health counseling provided by the school.

The letter also detailed the extensive security measures being taken ahead of Shapiro’s talk after previous scheduled appearances at the university by conservative figures were met with violent protests.

A spokesperson for the school said that the provision of counseling services was not only for Shapiro’s appearance but also for "conservative students who have told us they are worried not about the speakers headed our way but, rather, by the possibility that members of the Antifa
...the armed wing of the Democratic Party...
paramilitary group will return to the campus," in reference to the far-left, anti-fascist
...anybody not a leftist...
movement.

"I can assure you that if, in the future, we hear concerns in advance of ANY other speaker coming our way, we will issue a similar communication," the spokesperson told Newsweek.

The spokesperson also said that while the school is not aware of anything Shapiro may say that would lead students to feel threatened, there are guest speakers who use "provocative rhetoric" in order to cause "discomfort and concern."

In response, Shapiro tweeted that the offer of counseling services was "total insanity."

Shapiro, a conservative commentator and Orthodox Jew who now is editor-in-chief of The Daily Wire, was previously an editor at Breitbart News, where he worked under former top aide to US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
, Steve Bannon.

Despite working under Bannon, Shapiro was in the camp of anti-Trump Republicans and reportedly left Breitbart after the website did not support a news hound who alleged to have been assaulted by former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandoswki.

Earlier this year, UC Berkeley cancelled a talk at the school by the polarizing former Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos out of safety concerns after protesters hurled smoke bombs, broke windows and started a bonfire, leading to widespread property damage.

Conservative pundit Ann Coulter later canceled a planned speech at the university amid concerns of the potential for violence.

The city of Berkeley has been at the center of violent festivities since the beginning of the year between far-right and far-left demonstrators.

Last month, black-clad anarchists stormed into what had been a largely peaceful Berkeley protest against hate and attacked at least five people, including the leader of a politically conservative group who canceled an event a day earlier in the Socialist paradise of San Francisco
...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964...
amid fears of violence.

The violence at the most recent Berkeley rally came shortly after the deadly white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, last month in which a woman was killed after a man with alleged Nazi sympathies plowed a car into a group of people protesting the rally, which attracted neo-Nazis, white nationalists and white supremacists under a "Unite the Right" banner.

Betsy DeVos Ends a Campus Witch Hunt
[NYTIMES] Suppose you’re the kind of thoughtful liberal who concluded from Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
’s election that you’ve been living in a bubble and need to better understand the causes of America’s distemper. Suppose, too, that you have friends who voted for Trump ‐ and who you know for a fact are neither bigots nor buffoons.

Why are they so angry? How could they feel so desperate, politically speaking, to cast their ballots for him?

For a sense of the answer, look no further than Education Secretary Betsy DeVos’s announcement Thursday that her department would revisit the B.O. regime’s Title IX guidelines on campus sexual assault. The guidelines, she said, had "failed too many students" by radically curtailing due process. She’s right.

In April 2011, the department’s Office of Civil Rights sent a "Dear Colleague" letter to campus administrators effectively demanding new procedures when it came to handling sexual assault cases. The letter arrived without the usual "notice-and-comment" period that is supposed to precede formal rule making. Instead, as Lara Bazelon notes in Politico, "hundreds of schools were placed under federal investigation for failing to be tougher in handling allegations of campus sexual assault."

Campus administrators got the message. Henceforth, the accused would be judged on a "preponderance of evidence" basis to determine guilt, sometimes known as the "50 percent plus a feather" standard. Accusers would be able to appeal "not guilty" verdicts. Efforts would be made to spare the accuser from being faced with direct cross-examination by the accused.

The Grand Turk
Turkey issues travel advisory for Germany
[DW] The Ottoman Turkish Foreign Ministry cautioned its citizens to take care in Germany during the election cycle. The travel advisory comes amid a worsening of diplomatic relations between the NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A single organization with differing goals, equipment, language, doctrine, and structure....
allies.

The Ottoman Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a travel advisory for Germany on Saturday, warning Turks of an upswing in anti-Ottoman Turkish sentiment ahead of the German national election later this month.

In July Germany cautioned its citizens about travelling to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
after a series of arrests involving German nationals, but the German Foreign Ministry stopped short of an outright travel warning.

"The politicianship campaigns in Germany are based on anti-Turkey sentiment and preventing our country's EU membership. The political atmosphere... has actually been under the effects of far-right and even racist rhetoric for some time," the foreign ministry said in a statement.

"Ottoman Turkish citizens who live in, or who plan to travel to, Germany should be cautious and act prudently in cases of possible incidents, behaviour or verbal assaults of xenophobia and racism."

Turkey has accused Germany of assisting snuffies by not responding to files sent to Berlin and failing to hand over suspects wanted by Ottoman Turkish authorities.

'Terrorists walk the streets'
In its travel advisory, Turkey told its citizens that Germany welcomes terrorist groups, such as the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and the network of the US-based Islamic holy man Fethullah Gulen
... a Turkish preacher living in Pennsylvania whom the current govt of Turkey considers responsible for all the ills afflicting Turkey and possibly the entire world...
Terrorists "walk freely on the streets" of Germany, the ministry alleged. It warned that Ottoman Turkish citizens were being ill treated at German airports and that racist arsonists had lit fires in Ottoman Turkish-populated areas.

Following the failed coup last summer, the deteriorating rule of law in Turkey has prompted Germany to call for an end to Ankara's bid to enter the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
,although EU foreign ministers shrugged off the idea at a meeting on Friday, instead stressing the need for dialogue.

About 3 million people of Ottoman Turkish origin live in Germany.

Alcohol, even in moderation, is bad for health: UK study
[Iran Press TV] The alcohol industry uses distortion, denial and distraction to mislead people about the risks of developing cancer from drinking alcoholic beverages, often employing similar tactics used by the tobacco industry to mislead smokers, according to a new study.

The alcohol industry often present the relationship between alcohol and cancer as highly complex, implying there is no clear evidence of a consistent link, said the study led by scientists at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and Sweden's Karolinska Institutet.

Other strategies include denying any relationship exists, or saying inaccurately that there is no risk with moderate drinking, the study found. The industry also seeks to mention a wide range of other real and potential cancer risk factors in an effort to present alcohol as just one of many, it added.

The research team behind Thursday's study analyzed the information relating to cancer on the websites and documents of nearly 30 alcohol industry organizations around the world in 2016.

Crimes against Rohingya, organized Israeli plot: Velayati
[Iran Press TV] A senior Iranian official has slammed the ongoing brutal crackdown on the Rohingya in Myanmar, saying the Moslem community is suffering from organized crime at the hands of the Israeli regime.

"The Zionist regime’s plot to cleanse its cruel and child-killing image and promote the culture of cruelty and oppression against children, the elderly and innocent people in coordination with the government of Myanmar shows a horrible and organized crime against the deprived Rohingya Moslems," Ali Akbar Velayati, the secretary general of the World Assembly of Islamic Awakening, said in a statement on Saturday.

He warned that such an "ominous and organized plot by international Zionism" would result in genocide against the Moslems, oppression and forced displacement, ethnic and racial cleansing, massacre and regional instability.

He said all international bodies, including the United Nations
...an organization which on balance has done more bad than good, with the good not done well and the bad done thoroughly...
, Human Rights Watch and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), as well as world countries shoulder a heavy responsibility to have a correct understanding of such a calculated plot.

The site with the story is a pro Putin website. Nice folks, but they know where the money comes from
Over 4,000 outdated Soviet-made tanks and other armored fighting vehicles will be scrapped by 2020, Chief of the Main Armored Directorate of the Russian Defence Ministry Lt. Gen. Alexander Shevchenko said.

"Initially, when the program was drafted, it was planned that about 10,000 Soviet-made armored fighting vehicles (AFVs) stored in warehouses <…> will be scrapped," Shevchenko said.

"However, in line with changes in the international situation, the increase in combat skills of servicemen of the Russian armed forces, growing patriotism of Russian citizens and the appearance of new technical and technological solutions for deep upgrade allowing to turn outdated equipment into modern one, we had to review our plans," the official added.

"At present, the number of armored fighting vehicles to be scrapped in line with the program until 2020 stands at about 4,000 such vehicles."
