Beest's Emails Contained SAP (Special Access Program) Info, Sez IG
[LI] Hillary Clinton's decision to use a private email account while serving as Secretary of State was a security disaster if ever there was one.

Not only did she route her personal email account through a home-brewed server (a home-brewed server that was kept in the bathroom), classified information has been found in over 1,000 emails reviewed by the Department of State.

Worse still, emails released by the State Department as part of court-ordered monthly document dump suggest Hillary instructed subordinates to remove classified designations from documents in order to send them through insecure channels.

Now, the Inspector General says Hillary's emails contained information from the most secretive, classified sources.

Fox News exclusively obtained the text of the unclassified letter, sent Jan. 14 from Intelligence Community Inspector General I. Charles McCullough III. It laid out the findings of a recent comprehensive review by intelligence agencies that identified "several dozen" additional classified emails -- including specific intelligence known as "special access programs" (SAP).

That indicates a level of classification beyond even "top secret," the label previously given to two emails found on her server, and brings even more scrutiny to the presidential candidate's handling of the government's closely held secrets.

"To date, I have received two sworn declarations from one [intelligence community] element. These declarations cover several dozen emails containing classified information determined by the IC element to be at the confidential, secret, and top secret/sap levels," said the IG letter to lawmakers with oversight of the intelligence community and State Department. "According to the declarant, these documents contain information derived from classified IC element sources."

Intelligence from a "special access program," or SAP, is even more sensitive than that designated as "top secret" -- as were two emails identified last summer in a random sample pulled from Clinton's private server she used as secretary of state. Access to a SAP is restricted to those with a "need-to-know" because exposure of the intelligence would likely reveal the source, putting a method of intelligence collection -- or a human asset -- at risk. Currently, some 1,340 emails designated "classified" have been found on Clinton's server, though the Democratic presidential candidate insists the information was not classified at the time.

"There is absolutely no way that one could not recognize SAP material," a former senior law enforcement with decades of experience investigating violations of SAP procedures told Fox News. "It is the most sensitive of the sensitive."

Executive Order 13526 -- called "Classified National Security Information" and signed Dec. 29, 2009 -- sets out the legal framework for establishing special access programs. The order says the programs can only be authorized by the president, "the Secretaries of State, Defense, Energy, and Homeland Security, the Attorney General, and the Director of National Intelligence, or the principal deputy of each."

The programs are created when "the vulnerability of, or threat to, specific information is exceptional," and "the number of persons who ordinarily will have access will be reasonably small and commensurate with the objective of providing enhanced protection for the information involved," it states.

According to court documents, former CIA Director David Petraeus was prosecuted for sharing intelligence from special access programs with his biographer and mistress Paula Broadwell. At the heart of his prosecution was a non-disclosure agreement where Petraeus agreed to protect these closely held government programs, with the understanding "unauthorized disclosure, unauthorized retention or negligent handling ... could cause irreparable injury to the United States or be used to advantage by a foreign nation." Clinton signed an identical non-disclosure agreement Jan. 22, 2009.

Fox News is told that the recent IG letter was sent to the leadership of the House and Senate intelligence committees and leaders of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, as well as the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) and State Department inspector general.

Fox News has asked the committees to make the letter public because its findings are unclassified.

Representatives for the ODNI and intelligence community inspector general had no comment, but did not dispute the findings.

The intelligence community IG was responding in his message to a November letter from the Republican chairmen of the Senate intelligence and foreign relations committees that questioned the State Department email review process after it was wrongly reported the intelligence community was retreating from the "top secret" designation.

S. Hawking: Threats to human survival likely from new science
[CNBC] Physicist Stephen Hawking has warned that new technologies will likely bring about "new ways things can go wrong" for human survival.

When asked how the world will end, Hawking said that increasingly, most of the threats humanity faces come from progress made in science and technology. He says they include nuclear war, catastrophic global warming and genetically engineered viruses.

But the University of Cambridge professor added that a disaster on Earth -- a "near certainty" in the next 1,000 to 10,000 years-- will not spell the end of humanity because by that time humans are likely to have spread out into space.

Shock as married Zvishavane woman busted using mubobobo on men
[iHarare] A MARRIED Zvishavane woman stunned fellow villagers when she confessed that she has had sex with a number of men in the village using mubobobo (bluetooth sex) in order to quench her sexual desires. Mubobobo is a kind of black magic whereby someone miraculously has sex with another person from a distance without her/ his consent.

Sources who spoke to B-Metro said Esther Moyo (PICTURED ABOVE) of Wedza Village under Chief Wedza admitted to using mubobobo during a tsikamutandas cleansing ceremony.

"At first, tsikamutandas openly told Moyo she uses mubobobo on men, but she declined. They then went to her house where they found the juju.

Two Dutch, pro-immigration filmmakers published a video Saturday of themselves getting brutally robbed at a refugee camp in Calais, France, known as "The Jungle."

Journalist Maaike Engels and photographer Teun Voeten were attacked at knife point while obtaining footage for their documentary "Calais: Welcome to "The Jungle." The video shows Voeten getting tackled down by three masked men, before one man threatens Engels with a knife.

Feminist Foreign Policy
h/t Instapundit
Sweden has a feminist foreign policy. What does that mean? First some background. Sweden, a country of about 9.6 million people, is home to 700,000 Muslims. About 7% of the population.

...Margot WallstrĂśm, of the Social Democratic Party, ascended with much fanfare to the post of Foreign Minister in the fall of 2014. She had introduced a completely new concept: a feminist foreign policy. In the Statement of Foreign Policy of 2015, she asserted that "A feminist foreign policy is now being formulated, the purpose of which is to combat discrimination against women, improve conditions for women and contribute to peace and development."

One year later, we now know the outcome: "Feminist foreign policy" is not so much about protecting women's interests, as it is about fawning over the Arab states and the Palestinians -- and constantly attacking Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East.

Americans Giving Up on Jobs
h/t Instapundit
Forty percent of Americans who are capable of working but who don't have a job say they have completely given up looking for work, according to a new report.

The findings of a survey conducted by Express Employment Professionals show that the longer an individual has been out of the labor force, the more likely they are to say they have given up looking. More than half -- 55 percent -- of those out of work for more than two years say they have given up, while 21 percent of those out of labor force for three months or less say the same.

"Sometimes people get so frustrated with their job prospects that they give up looking for work altogether," states the report. "If they're not looking for work, then they're not officially counted among the 'unemployed' according to the government."

These factors contribute to a falling labor force participation rate, a figure monitored by the Bureau of Labor Statistics that measures the proportion of the population who do not have a job and did not look for one in the past month. In 2015, this rate averaged out to 62.7 percent, the lowest level seen since 1977.

Africa Subsaharan
de Klerk Foundation: Threats of rape and murder by disaffected blacks is racist
[dKF] The FW de Klerk Foundation has today submitted a complaint to the SA Human Rights Commission regarding 45 social media postings that incite extreme violence against white South Africans.

The Foundation is particularly concerned about recent statements in the media and the social media that constitute hurtful racist remarks. In this regard it issued a statement on 5 January in which it strongly condemned the recent racist remarks made by Penny Sparrow regarding black South Africans who made use of public beaches on New Year's Day.

Most media commentators viewed Sparrow's remarks and the subsequent far less controversial comments of Chris Hart and Gareth Cliff as evidence of rampant and pervasive white racism. However, an analysis of Facebook and Twitter messages shows that by far the most virulent and dangerous racism - expressed in the most extreme and violent language - has come from disaffected black South Africans. The messages are replete with threats to kill all whites - including children; to rape white women or to expel all whites from South Africa.

Peshmerga find new mass grave outside Shingal
[Rudaw] Kurdish Peshmerga forces found a mass grave near Shingal on Sunday which they believe contains the remains of Yezidi Kurdish men killed by ISIS forces of Evil in 2014.

At least 15-20 men are believed to have been buried there. They were executed by Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. (ISIS) forces of Evil when they took over the town.

Since Shingal's liberation by the Peshmerga last November several other mass graves have been found in and around the city where many Yezidi men and women have been buried.

Hundreds of Yezidi Kurds were killed, thousands kidnapped and tens of thousands more displaced from Shingal and the Nineveh plains.

Africa Subsaharan
4 Dead in Suicide Attack at Cameroon Mosque
[AnNahar] Four worshipers were killed in a suicide kaboom at a mosque in northern Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
on Monday, a security source said, five days after a similar attack left 12 people dead.

Monday's blast hit the village of Nguetchewe in Cameroon's Far North region, in an area near the border with Nigeria regularly targeted by Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
jihadists.

"The toll of this attack is four dead and two injured," the source, who was at the scene of the attack, told AFP.

A source close to regional authorities confirmed that a deadly attack had taken place in Nguetchewe, but was unable to provide details.

The security source said the attack took place around 6:00 am (0500 GMT) just as morning prayers were ending.

"The jacket wallah, a young boy, arrived in the village by foot," the source said, adding that a witness had noticed his behavior seemed suspicious and had tried to intercept him.

"The bomber ran towards the mosque, where he set off the explosives he was carrying with him."

Cameroonian troops are at the scene of the attack, the source said.

It is the second deadly blast to hit the Far North in less than a week, following a bombing at a mosque in Kolofata district during morning prayers last Wednesday.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Hebron has become 'terror central'
[Ynet] 55 out of the 150 attacks carried out so far in the current terror wave orignated in Hebron; the Otniel attack marks an escalation in the severity of the attacks, as they now are at people's doorsteps.

The brutal attack Sunday in Otniel symbolizes two important points regarding the current wave of terrorism: an escalation in the severity of attacks and the fact that Hebron has become the "terror center" of this wave.

The first point is the escalation of the severity of the attacks and the transition from stabbings at intersections and on roads, which ended up with the terrorist being killed, to terror at people's doorsteps, which is more focused and much more deadly.

The second point is the official transformation of Hebron into the "terror capital" and the producer of the largest number of terrorist attacks in the current intifada. According to the Shin Bet, out of the 150 attacks carried out by Death Eaters so far, 55 originated in the Hebron area. The most severe attacks of the current terror wave, which has claimed the lives of 29 people came from the area.

The initial investigation of the Hebron Brigade revealed that the terrorist entered the settlement of Otniel, which is not surrounded by an electric fence, came to the family home and stabbed Dafna Meir in front of her daughter. Apparently, her screams had driven him from the settlement, but not before he was caught by the security cameras. A manhunt was carried out in the near-by villages of Yatta and Khirbet al-Karmel, where IDF soldiers and Shin Bet agents were active all night long.

During the second intifada, in December 2002, it was the severe attack at Yeshivat Otniel which marked an escalation in the type of attacks. The settlement had no fence, and two Paleostinians dressed in IDF uniforms, armed with rifles and hand grenades, infiltrated the settlement, entered the yeshiva's kitchen and opened fire. Four students were killed, and some of their friends, along with soldiers called to the scene were maimed. The settlement and they yeshivah became a symbol. Community and the meeting became a symbol.

Getting back to current wave: the Hebron sector rose up later than East Jerusalem, Nablus and Ramallah. Hebron and its surrounding area quickly became the primary infrastructure from which Death Eaters emerged, and for now the Shin Bet and the IDF do not have a solution to restore peace.

It's possible that the Shin Bet data showing that there has been a drop in the number of attacks last month are true, but definitely not with respect to the severity of the attacks. Every day there was an incident there, the main threat being, as published in Yedioth Ahronoth, the Hebron sniper, who has acted several times and has maimed soldiers from a distance near the Cave of the Patriarchs, and until now the authorities have been unable to capture him.

The security forces' main worry is from copycats who may be emboldened by Sunday's successful attack, just as happened at the start of the current terror wave. Therefore, Central Command has instructed to stick closely to security procedures with regards to the settlements in the West Bank, where security has been beefed up lately.

Pregnant woman hurt in stabbing near Jerusalem
[Ynet] Michal Fruman, 30, moderately maimed in terror attack in Tekoa; her unborn baby was unharm; terrorist shot and critically maimed by armed civilian.

A pregnant woman was moderately maimed in a stabbing attack in Tekoa near Jerusalem on Monday morning.

The terrorist, around 17 years old, infiltrated Tekoa through an existing breach in its fence
...which still is breached why?
and arrived shortly after 10am to a second-hand clothes store in the Tekoa industrial area.

The manager of the store turned to the young attacker to ask him what he was looking for. In response, he drew out a knife and stabbed 30-year-old Michal Fruman, one of the employees, in her chest.

He then fled back towards the breach in the fence. Security forces ordered him to stop, but he ignored them, at which point he was shot and critically maimed by an armed civilian. He was taken to the Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem.

Following the attack, the commander of the Etzion Brigade ordered the immediate removal of all Paleostinians workers from settlements in the area, and IDF forces searched for any accessories.

"In light of situation assessments and following recent terror attacks ... Paleostinian workers have been instructed to leave (Gush Etzion) communities," an IDF statement said.

Fruman, who is 18 weeks pregnant, was taken to the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem in moderate and stable condition. Her unborn baby was unharmed and there was no risk to her life.

Michal's husband, Shibi Fruman, said the knife had broken a bone and raptured her lung.

"She says she felt that the terrorist wanted to die more than he wanted to kill her, and the two things together express how serious the situation is," Shibi said.

"We seek peace and there's no reply, because we're facing a culture of death," he added.

Monday evening, following reports of stones being thrown at Jerusalem's light rail in Shuafat, in northern Jerusalem, searches were carried out by detectives. A detective spotted an Arab youth wielding a knife coming towards them. The detectives approached him and identified themselves as coppers. The suspect tried to escape but was caught and locked away
I ain't sayin' nuttin' widdout me mout'piece!
. The knife was seized. No injuries were reported.

Palestinians will be barred from entering West Bank settlements on Tuesday
Consequences are often unfair, another good reason to avoid earning them.
[Ynet] Paleostinian laborers will not be allowed to enter West Bank settlements on Tuesday, following a decision taken by the IDF in the wake of two terror attacks in the last two days. The decision does not apply to industrial zones.

[DAWN] An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Quetta on Monday acquitted former president General Pervez Perv Musharraf
... former dictator of Pakistain, who was less dictatorial and corrupt than any Pak civilian government to date ...
in a case pertaining to the alleged murder of former Baloch nationalist leader Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti.

The court also acquitted former provincial home minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani and Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) chief and member of National Assembly Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao.

After the announcement of the decision by ATC-1 Judge Jan Muhammad Gohar, the lawyer representing Jamil Bugti, Sohail Rajput, announced his decision to challenge the judgment of the court.

"We are not satisfied with this judgement and we will challenge it," Rajput told news hounds outside court.

Yemeni forces target Saudi mercenaries with ballistic missile
[Iran Press TV] Yemeni army troopers, backed by fighters from the allied popular committees, have reportedly carried out a missile attack against a hideout of Saudi foreign mercenaries in Yemen's central province of Ma'rib.

A military source, requesting anonymity, said Yemeni forces launched an OTR-21 Tochka tactical ballistic missile at the al-Bairaq base late on Sunday, killing an unspecified number of Saudi and Emirati soldiers as well as members of Academi, the American security services training company, formerly known as Blackwater, Arabic-language al-Masirah satellite television network reported.

The source added that the command center of the Saudi-led forces and several reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed in the attack.

Four nations call on Taliban to join Afghan peace talks
[DAWN] Representatives from Afghanistan, Pakistain, China and the United States gathered in Kabul
...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either....
on Monday called on the Taliban to resume peace talks with the Afghan government.

Senior officials from the four countries met for most of the day at the Presidential Palace amid tight security, a week after a first round of discussions in the Pak capital, Islamabad.

In a joint statement released by the Afghan Foreign Ministry, they said the talks "made progress on a roadmap toward initiating peace talks with Taliban groups."

It said they hope to bring the two sides together for talks "aimed at reduction of violence and establishing lasting peace in Afghanistan and the region."

The four-nation group "called on all Taliban groups to enter into early talks with the Afghan government," and agreed to meet again in Islamabad on February 6.

Man cuts off his wife's nose in Faryab before fleeing to Taliban-held area
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] A man has escaped to a Taliban-held area after cutting off his wife's nose in northern Faryab province of Afghanistan, local officials said Monday.

Provincial police chief Syed Aqa Andarabi said the incident took place late on Sunday in Ghormach district.

He said an investigation has been launched with preliminary reports suggesting the man committed the crime due to family issues.

The relatives of the woman said her condition is critical as her nose has been completely chopped off and she has to be immediately shifted from Faryab province to receive medical care.

They said the husband of the victim managed to flee the area and has taken shelter in area under the Taliban control.

Provincial public health officials have confirmed that the woman would require plastic surgery, a procedure that is not available in Faryab province.

The incident once again sent shockwaves across Afghanistan amid growing violence against women in the country with majority social media users condemning the brutal act and calling on the government to take immediate steps in detaining and trying the perpetrator.

The growing violence against women has been one of the main social issues Afghanistan has been facing during the past years with the analysts believing that the efforts by the government and international community have failed to curb the stigma in the Afghan society.

Saudi fighter jets also targeted several locations in the southern province of Ta'izz, with reports suggesting that three non-combatants were killed in an air raid on a house in Dhubab district.

Similar assaults were also reported on schools in the same area, with no immediate account available on the potential casualties.

Syrian rebels exchange ISIS captives
DAMASCUS – Syrian rebels exchanged several hostages with the extremist group of Islamic State (ISIS) in Damascus, military sources reported on Monday.

The Army of Islam (Jaish al-Islam), one of the main Syrian rebel groups fighting in Damascus province, has exchanged 11 hostages with ISIS.

“We have freed 11 ISIS fighters after the group agreed to release 11 civilians, including media activists, who have been taken as hostages by ISIS last month,” said Islam Alloush, spokesman of the Army of Islam rebel group.

“All the hostages released by ISIS were civilians from Yalda neighborhood of Damascus suburb,” he said.

Alloush added that the rebels had captured dozens of ISIS jihadis subsequent to clashes earlier in December.

The exchange operation took place on Monday at the Ouruba square in Beirut Street, southern Damascus.

“We agreed to release a number of them (ISIS militants) in order to free our people from the fist of this group,” he added. “The safety of our people and those peaceful activists is a top priority for the Army of Islam.”

Hostages released by ISIS included several media activists, among them prominent media worker Qays al-Shami who used to report on human rights violations by forces loyal to the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus.

Poppy Fields Cleared In Crackdown Campaign In Kandahar's Panjwayee
Drug enforcement agents launched a massive campaign on Monday in Panjwayee district of southern Kandahar province aimed at destroying poppy fields in one of the main drug belts in Afghanistan.

The poppies are used to make opium, of which Afghanistan tops the list as being the world's largest producer. Local officials in Kandahar said that acres of cultivated poppy fields have been destroyed in the operation.

Meanwhile, a number of local farmers have said that the lack of proper marketing and no access to markets for agricultural products has forced them to grow poppies. Police in the area have called on farmers to cooperate with the security forces in the campaign.
Sure, they'll do that. Of course. Makes sense...
"On the orders of the ministry of interior and the police department, we decided to impose a ban on drugs in coordination with the people," Panjwayee acting police chief Hazrat Wali said.

Elaborating on the problems facing the farmers, Mohammad Ishaqzai, Panjwayee district governor pledged that the provincial government will look for better opportunities to facilitate the farmers' access to markets.

"We have implemented a number of projects which are preferred by the people. We are determined to eliminate opium production and are currently destroying poppy fields with the help of tractors," Panjwayee district governor Fazal Mohammad Eshaqzai said.

"Government which prevents us from cultivating poppies must introduce alternatives. The resin (from poppies used to make opium) is lying at home and no one is here to purchase it," one farmer said.

This comes amid a surge in poppy cultivation and opium manufacturing in northern, southern and eastern regions of the province.

Danes said to be helping out against ISIS
DAMASCUS – Denmark is taking “necessary and proportionate measures” against jihadists of the Islamic State (ISIS) in Syria and Iraq, an official said.

Denmark’s Permanent Representative to the U.N. Ib Petersen told the Security Council that his country has been taking strict measures against ISIS.

“The Kingdom of Denmark is taking necessary and proportionate measures against the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Syria,” Petersen said in a letter to the President of the Security Council.

Petersen’s letter, which dated January 11 and was revealed on Monday, did not provide further information about the nature of the measures his country has been applying to combat the jihadi group.

Denmark has earlier sent fighter jets to Iraq within the framework of the international efforts to fight ISIS militants.

This is the first time the Kingdom reveals its participation in the anti-ISIS campaign in Syria.

Iranian Police Responsible for Break in Attempts on Embassies
Abdullah al-Siri, Former Yemeni Ambassador to Tehran, said that Iranian police department has partaken in opening up the embassy center of Yemen, after it had been evacuated due to Yemen cutting diplomatic ties with Iran last October.

Moreover, it has supported the insurgents in Yemen by finding them a foothold center in Iran; the embassy has been transformed into a meeting center for their gatherings.

Ambassador al-Siri, in a phone call interview with Asharq Al-Awsat, clarified that a several Arabian ambassadors in Iran have taken the decision on not dealing with any person that proves loyal to the insurgents in Yemen, and, or has been working at the Yemeni embassy in Tehran after the cutting of diplomatic ties.

The embassy’s diplomatic staff had included those who were loyal to the Houthi militia and followers of Ali Abdullah Saleh, and have chosen to remain in Iran even after they were ordered otherwise.

“Consequentially, many workings were hidden from me, in fear of me looking into them, for example letters that were sent to other legitimate governments and Arabian ambassadors” al-Siri elaborated.

Al-Siri also pointed out that Abdelmoun’aam Ahriz, Algerian Ambassador in Iran, has “dismissed one of the Yemeni embassy members in Tehran from an official occasion held at the Algerian embassy in Tehran”, he also added that the incident happened, “on the same day of me leaving after cutting diplomatic ties with Iran, the diplomat had taken the invitation over from my office without my knowledge, and he then planned to represent the Yemeni Embassy at the gathering”.

“The Yemeni embassy in Tehran has been evacuated and the flag lowered, and the diplomatic mission there was requested to leave Iranian grounds. Despite me leaving Iran, other staff workers at the embassy had stayed there; Houthi militias have came in to Tehran one after the other, and thus transformed the embassy into a center for the rebels.” He added.

Al-Siri held the Iranian police responsible for anything that any embassy is subjected to in Iran. As he further clarified that there is an Iranian police officer standing at the gates of every single embassy in Iran.

Morocco arrests Belgian with links to Paris attacks
[CNN] Morocco has tossed in the slammer
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
a Belgian in connection with the November terror attacks in Gay Paree, officials told CNN on Monday.

French and Moroccan authorities identified the man as 26-year-old Gelel Attar, a Belgian of Moroccan descent.

A spokesperson for the Moroccan Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations said Attar is from Molenbeek,
... the impoverished suburb of Brussels with a history of links to terror plots...
Belgium, and knew the Gay Paree attackers well.

Attar was being held in Sale, close to the Moroccan capital, Rabat, the spokesperson said.

His family, which was notified of his arrest immediately after his capture, is not under investigation, according to the bureau spokesperson.

A French law enforcement official told CNN that Attar traveled to Syria in 2013 with Chakib Akrouh, a jacket wallah who went kaboom! in the police raid on a Saint-Denis apartment, days after the Gay Paree attacks.

Belgian CNN affiliate RTL quoted Moroccan authorities saying Attar also met in Syria with the suspected ringleader of the Gay Paree attacks, Abdelhamid Abaaoud.

The Saint-Denis raid happened four days after alleged associates of Abaaoud killed 130 people and injured hundreds in several locations in Gay Paree and Saint-Denis, a guns-and-explosives attack claimed by the Islamist terror group ISIS.

Attar was convicted in absentia by a Belgian court last year of recruiting jihadists and sentenced to five years in prison, RTL reported.

Syria liberates more areas near Dayr al-Zawr
[Iran Press TV] The Syrian army and allied volunteer fighters have made fresh gains against Lions of Islam in a key village in the country's east, securing areas in an area that recently saw the massacre of hundreds of people at the hands of Daesh [Islamic State] terrorists.

Syria's official news agency (SANA) said on Monday that the armed forces managed to retake control of a major neighborhood in the al-Bghailiye village, north of the city of Dayr al-Zawr.

Syrian forces pushed back Lions of Islam from the al-Ruwad area, the highest point in Bghailiye, according to the report.

The operation came just two days after Daesh [Islamic State] Lions of Islam blitzed the village and killed more than 300 people, most of them women and elderly people.

The Death Eaters also kidnapped 400 people, mostly women and kiddies, in Bghailiye late last week.

Military sources said Syrian army had begun a demining operation in the areas they recaptured from the Lions of Islam in Bghailiye to facilitate the return of residents.

SANA said Syrian forces also inched closer on Lions of Islam in the western countryside of Dayr al-Zawr, regaining control of the al-Hissan, al-Gneineh and Ayash villages.

Clashes also erupted inside Dayr al-Zawr, with reports saying many bad boyz were potted by the Syrian forces as they tried to infiltrate the neighborhood of al-Rashediyeh.

Dayr al-Zawr has been effectively under siege by Daesh [Islamic State] Lions of Islam since early 2015, when the Lions of Islam launched an offensive, capturing the historical city of Palmyra in Homs Province, then cutting off the remaining supply line to the city.

Britain
'Trump paving way for Clinton's victory'
[Iran Press TV] The British Parliament on Monday opened a debate over a popular petition to ban the US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump from entering Britannia.

The petition that has been signed by over half a million people was prepared in the wake of the recent anti-Muslim remarks by Trump.

Before the MPs voted on the move, it was already being viewed as a positive gesture which could help stop what many are already criticizing as the racist positions of politicians.

There was little hope that Trump could even be barred from entering the UK. Nevertheless, speculations have been emerging among the analysts in Britannia that the controversial Republican candidate is pursuing a specific agenda through his anti-Muslim rhetoric.

Shabir Hassanally, a UK-based political commentator, told Press TV that Trump is pushing ahead with a carefully calculated campaign to give the ticket to the White House to his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton
... sometimes described as For a good time at 3 a.m. call Hillary and at other times as Mrs. Bill, never as Another Henry L. Stimson ...
"I don't really believe he is angling to be the president of the US," said Hassanally. "I believe that he has a specific task which is to make sure that Hillary Clinton gets in by being so obnoxious."

Nevertheless, he emphasized that the move by the British people to prepare a petition to ban Trump from entering Britannia was praiseworthy.

#3  So... I went over the slashdot when rantburg was down this morning... there's a thread over there on Trump Says he'd make Apple build computers in the US.

Funny thing is, while still not liking Trump all that much... I dislike the zeitgeist there even more... they have fantasies and lies stacked on fantasies and lies, that American manufacturing is impossible, and that they'll all magically still have jobs after the last of it is gone.

They'll mesh "and we all know Apple would go bankrupt if they made stuff here" with "and that stupid idiot doesn't even know the Mac Pro is built here..."

#4  So the fact that they can mesh together "Trump = You know Who" with "Trump = Ross Perot Style Spoiler" shouldn't be surprising. Heck, with Perot the last time around, there were SF novels with a disguised Perot as the evil-dictator-wannabe villain.

That's what bothers me. It's been bothering me for a long time. Am I the only one? Maybe not. Maybe that's what bothers Trump. I think it should bother anyone who has any sense, just like Muslim immigration.

But if we have 40-50 percent of our labor force out of work maybe some of them would consider working for less instead of sitting on their butts and relying on EBT cards.

#10  Ebbang: the cost of employing someone is north of twice as much as their actual salary. Worker's comp, liability, unemployment insurance, etc... it all adds up. Heck, is it time for me to mention stuff like the Now Mandatory Health Insurance?

At the threading plant I was working at until recently... a 12.50/hr welder's helper cost about 30.00/hr when hired through a temporary labor agency.

It's an immense stack of private and public taxes the Mandarin Class has stuck on top of the American Working Class. The average worker gets less than half of what you have to pay to get his labor.
Posted by: Thing From Snowy Mountain || 01/19/2016 16:49 Comments || Top||

#11  Let me put that another way: if the Average American Worker worked for you for free, ate from the local charitable food bank and slept under a bridge in order to do so, your labor costs would only go down 40%. And all the good bridges and overpasses are already taken.
Posted by: Thing From Snowy Mountain || 01/19/2016 16:55 Comments || Top||

#12  I think that, instead of worrying about gun control, black lives matter and safe spaces we need to have a national discussion about why American workers cannot compete with their Chinese counterparts. I'm not saying it's the workers' fault. But if it's so much cheaper for a worker to live and work in China, why is that? And if China is abusing it's workers then why do we trade with them? We didn't trade with the Soviets. We used to be concerned about human rights and opposed to tyranny. Not so much anymore. Now it's all about the bottom line no matter what.

#14  But if it's so much cheaper for a worker to live and work in China, why is that?

For the same reason you would rather live and work in a nice neighbourhood than in the slums, even though the slums are considerably cheaper.

I have friends who lived in the expat neighbourhood outside Beijing during the bird flu panic. The houses were large, American style properties and the community was gated and guarded, but my girlfriend still sent to America for her meds. She said there was no way of knowing if what she bought at the neighbourhood pharmacy was the unexpired product listed on the label, relabeled expired product, or run-off from the factories on the other side of town poured into used containers. When Mr. Wife was not dying of amoebic dysentary in India, his local colleagues picked up his medicines and needles at the private pharmacy used by the elites for their personal use, as the meds provided by the hospital were often tap water, and the needles reused.

Abu Uluque, up through the 1930s the watchword for comsumers in the U.S. was also caveat emptor, let the buyer beware. The wise housewife brought her own grain to the mller to be ground into flour, and watched as it was done. The FDA originally inspected and certified the purity and wholesomeness of basic food products like flour and spices, copying a similar innovation in England. Periodically even now it is discovered that paprika powder from Hungary, imported to America, was deliberately cut with lead oxide, or was accidentally contaminated by salmonella. Such inspections, and the trust -- not to mention improved health -- it engenders, requires not only a cultural shift but a great deal of money to set up and run.

-Land of the Free
So Prepare To Defend Yourself, Your Family And Your Tribe
From TFA:
[CaptainsJournal] The common theme should have become more pronounced by now. By birthright (or conversion), Muslims are taught to see what’s yours as theirs, women as chattel, and men as kafirs to be conquered and killed. Islam doesn’t coexist. Islam is an invasive organism that tests, prods and penetrates to find weaknesses in the host organism. It’s goal is to take over the host, consume its wealth, and conquer its people.

The migrant situation is going to get way worse, and we’ve only seen the beginning. The number of migrants has reached 60 million, with many still in transit. Let me repeat that for emphasis. Many of the migrants haven’t even yet arrived. They are still in transit. It may sound repetitive and redundant to keep saying it, but be ready to use weapons to defend yourselves, your family and your tribe. Practicing with your weapons is necessary, as necessary as having weapons and ammunition. But also necessary is the mental and spiritual steel and resolve to kill in order to effect self defense. While it may seem odd to bring this up, apparently it isn’t such an odd observation for Frenchmen or Germans.

While it may interesting to study and practice maneuver warfare and small unit combat tactics, techniques and procedures, MOUT and CQB techniques, the most likely first employment of a weapon you will ever face will be with your handgun and/or tactical knife. Remember Herschel’s Dictum. Always carry, always be prepared, keep your head on a swivel, and know with certainty that this is headed our way.

We’ve all had adequate warning.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Danville Officer Thomas Cottrell Shot Dead, Weapon and Cruiser Stolen
[NBCNEWS] A police officer was found dead in Ohio with his gun and cruiser missing, authorities said early Monday. The Ohio State Highway Patrol had deployed extra units and aviation resources after the Danville officer was reported missing and possibly maimed late Sunday.

Officer Thomas Cottrell was found dead without his service weapon or cruiser just before midnight, according to the Knox County Sheriff's department. It said dispatchers had received a tip-off from a female caller that Danville cops "were in danger" because her ex-boyfriend Herschel Jones had "left with weapons and was looking to kill an officer."

Dispatchers tried to reach the officer but were unsuccessful, the sheriff's office added. Sheriff's deputies searched the village of Danville and found Cottrell's body behind a municipal building 27 minutes after the initial call. The officer had been rubbed out, according to NBC station WCMH.

Jones was taken into custody following a "foot chase" at around 1:36 a.m. after he was seen "running from a residence," the sheriff's office said. It was not immediately clear if Jones had been charged with any crime or if Cottrell's weapon and cruiser had been recovered.

Jones has a lengthy criminal record and has tried to claim he was legally insane in one case. According to Knox County court records, he was charged in several cases with breaking and entering, burglary, receiving stolen property and carrying a concealed weapon.

He pleaded not guilty
"Wudn't me."
to a 2011 case by reason of insanity, but later changed his plea to guilty.

Arabia
Yemeni Assassination Craze Moves to Sana’a
Attacks in Yemen moved north, specifically targeting Sana’a, after a series of attacks that had already ripped through the Southern city of Aden despite it being freed, with militants being driven out ridding it from insurgency.

Only 24 hours after assassinating Bashar al-Moayed, Houthi field leader, in the middle of the Capital Sana’a at al-Zubaire St, an anonymous gunmen assassinatedColonel Mohammed Radman on Sunday, the coordination and information director in the administration of private special security forces (previously known as Central Security),

Moreover, during last week, Sana’a witnessed two other assassinations of Houthi leaders and combatants of Al Jawf Governorate, East of Yemen.

Masked gunmen have also, last month, assassinated the field Army commander’s brother (Supporter of Ali Abdullah Saleh), abu Ali al-Hakem, in al-Asbahi neighborhood south of Sana’a using an (IED) bomb attack that targeted his convoy.

However, neither parties have adopted any of the assassinations; local sources stated that the assassinations are a result of a hidden dispute rising between former president Ali Abdullah Saleh and the Houthi militia.

In sight of that, Aden’s security director Colonel Shalal Ali Shayea’ survived an attack on his house in Tawahi neighborhood South of Aden.

A security source told Asharq Al-Awsat that a car filled with explosives driven by a suicide bomber exploded near the front gates of the house located in a mountainous area looking over the sea.

According to information, few house guards have lost their lives and others injured, in the explosion that was distinctive in its method of targeting security officials’ houses.

In the ballpark, indicators of the dispute rising among the partners in Yemen’s insurgency at Sana’a started off last week when the Houthis refused to broadcast over the governmental media stations and newspapers they control; a speech for the deposed President Saleh on current developments.

The Houthis refusing to broadcast depicts them isolating Saleh from their media, a move that was followed with Houthi media publishing news reports accusing followers close to Saleh of plunder and robbing the public treasury of millions of Yemeni Rials.

Britain
Muslim women must learn English or be deported: British PM
[AlAhram] Muslim women who fail to learn English to a high enough standard could face deportation from Britain, Prime Minister David Cameron announced Monday.
How hard can it be? British babies learn to speak English without any apparent effort.
He also suggested that poor English skills can leave people "more susceptible" to the messages of groups like Islamic State (IS).

Cameron's comments came as his centre-right Conservatives launched a £20 million ($28.5 million, 26 million euro) language fund for women in isolated communities as part of a drive to build community integration.

Immigration rules already force spouses to speak English before they come to Britain to live with their partners.

But Cameron said they would also face further tests after two and a half years in the country to make sure their language skills were improving.

"You can't guarantee you will be able to stay if you are not improving your language," he told BBC radio. "People coming to our country, they have responsibilities too."

Cameron's government estimates that around 190,000 Muslim women in England -- about 22 percent -- speak little or no English.

There are estimated to be around 2.7 million Muslims in England out of a total population of some 53 million.

Cameron said that a lack of language skills could make Muslims in Britain more vulnerable to the message of extremist groups.

"I am not saying there is some sort of causal connection between not speaking English and becoming an extremist, of course not," he told BBC radio.

"But if you are not able to speak English, not able to integrate, you may find therefore you have challenges understanding what your identity is and therefore you could be more susceptible to the extremist message."

His comments drew criticism from Muslim groups and opposition parties.

Mohammed Shafiq, chief executive of the Ramadhan Foundation, which campaigns for better community relations, accused Cameron of "disgraceful stereotyping".

"David Cameron and his Conservative government are once again using British Muslims as a political football to score cheap points to appear tough," he added.

And Andy Burnham, home affairs spokesman for the main opposition Labour party, accused Cameron of a "clumsy and simplistic approach" which was "unfairly stigmatising a whole community."

-Signs, Portents, and the Weather-
Larry Summers: 'Creeping Totalitarianism' on College Campus
[WEEKLYSTANDARD] Speaking about the intellectual climate on campus, Summers says, "The main thing that's happening [on campus] is what always happens, professors teach courses, students take courses, students aspire to graduate, they make friends, they plan their lives... That said, whether it's the President of Princeton negotiating with people as they took over his office over the names of schools at Princeton, whether it is attacks on very reasonable free speech having to do with adults' right to choose their own Halloween costumes at Yale, whether it's the administration using placemats in the dining hall to propagandize about what messages students should give their parents about Syrian refugee policy, there is a great deal of absurd political correctness.

"I'm somebody who believes very strongly in diversity, who resists racism in all of its many incarnations... But it seems to be that there is a kind of creeping totalitarianism in terms of what kind of ideas are acceptable and are debatable on college campuses. And I think that's hugely unfortunate. I think the answer to bad speech is different speech. The answer to bad speech is not shutting down speech."

Summers also blasts "microagressions" as crazy. "The idea that somehow microaggressions in the form of a racist statement contained in a novel should be treated in parallel with violence or actual sexual assault seems to me to be crazy. I worry very much that if our leading academic institutions become places that prize comfort over truth--that prize the pursuit of mutual understanding over the pursuit of better and more accurate understanding--then a great deal will be lost."

It is inspired by the country's deadliest ever bully boy attack that saw nine Taliban gunnies storm a school in Peshawar, shooting students and teachers in cold blood and occupying the school for hours until they were killed by the army.

But after an article on Dawn.com criticised the game, social media users lambasted its makers for exploiting the tragedy.

"Bizarre and distasteful," user Shaheryar Mirza wrote.

"Play the APS game on Android, kill the bad guys, empathy and good taste in one go," wrote Fasi Zaka, referring to the Army Public School that was targeted in the grisly attack.

Afghanistan
Gunmen Kill Security Guard, Torch Girls School In Kabul
Unknown gunmen on Sunday torched a girls school and killed the school security guard in PD12, Arzan Qemat area, of Kabul city.

According to local residents the incident occurred early Sunday morning when unknown gunmen killed the security guard at Ahmad Shah Baba girls school before setting the school's library on fire.

The is the first time a school has been torched in Kabul.

"In the morning when we came to the school the security forces already reached there and the security guard's body had been burned and for hours remained in the school," said Aqela Ahmad Shah Baba a school cleaner.

But the incident is a matter of concern for the local residents and the school's students.

"Early morning when we woke up for prayers, police and fire fighter vehicles were there and when I asked I found out that the school had been torched and the guard killed," said Amrullah one of the residents.

"I am a student in second year in the school. I don't want this, they should not set fire to schools - let us study," said Zaid a student.

This incident has also raised questions as to who might be behind the incident.

"The incident concerns us and we want such incidents to be prevented," said Mujeeb Mehrdad an Education Ministry spokesman.

"There are persons who are against children's education, but police will continue investigations and we hope that we can identify the perpetrators and detain them" said MoI spokesman Sediq Sediqqi.

This is not the first time a school has been torched. A number of schools have been burned down in the provinces but it is the first such incident in Kabul.

It was supposed to be a carrier-killer, but the lack of maneuverability, especially at or near full speed, made it a flying coffin.

What is it all of a sudden with all the praise of Russian military hardware? Most of it's junk, or unreliable, or just plain clunky. When you have to build things that uneducated plow jockies can use, you have to make it rugged, durable, and easy to fix. It also makes it about as sophisticated as a bathtub.

#7  As long as the ISIS/ISIL is allowed to protractively remain both as an organized Polity + in control of all or most of its captured territories, IT HAS ALREADY WON EVEN IFF ITS INFLUENCE BECOMES "STATIC" OR DETERIORATES.

Moreso as when various Muslim Govts-Nations go Nukulaar, SO WILL THE ISIS/ISIL.

IMO the true importance of the ISIS/ISIL + "Caliphate" is its perceived legitimacy, credibility, andor influence on the NEXT OR FUTURE GENERATIONS OF PRO-ISLAMIST-JIHADIST MUSLIMS, ESPEC AS THE US-BORN, US-RAISED, EX-DOD ELITE + CONVERT-TO-ISLAM ISLAMIC "MAHDI/MESSIAH/

The Taliban denied responsibility for the bombing, which also left 13 people injured on the eve of a second round of four-country negotiations aimed at restarting peace talks with the Death Eaters.

The carnage came during a jirga of tribal leaders at the home of politician Obaiduallah Shinwari, who escaped unscathed.

group's murderous Moslems grabbed credit for a four-hour gun and bomb siege targeting the Pak consulate.

All three attackers and seven members of the security forces were killed in the assault, the first major IS attack in an Afghan city and on a Pak government installation.

The group, which controls territory across Syria and Iraq, is making gradual inroads in Afghanistan, challenging the Taliban on their own turf.

It has managed to attract disaffected Taliban fighters increasingly lured by the group's signature brutality.

In a sign of its growing reach in Afghanistan, the group has taken to the airwaves with a 90-minute Pashto-language radio show.

The government has said it is trying to block the broadcast, which is beamed from some holy man's guesthouse an undisclosed location and aimed at winning new recruits.

The uptick in violence comes amid renewed international efforts to revive peace talks with the Taliban, which are locked in a tussle for supremacy with the IS in Afghanistan.

Iran nabs key suspects in Saudi embassy raid
[Iran Press TV] Iranian security forces have detained three people accused of having played a key role in the recent raid on the Saudi embassy in the capital, Tehran, a top Iranian Judiciary official says.

"In the recent couple of days, three main suspects involved in the transgression against the Saudi embassy [in Tehran] have been identified and tossed in the clink
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
; and the suspects have so far been heavily investigated," Tehran Prosecutor Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi said on Monday.

He also said that efforts continue to identify and apprehend more suspects, and that investigations continue regarding those already in jug.

On January 2, demonstrations were held in front of the Saudi embassy in Tehran and its consulate in the northeastern city of Mashhad by angry protesters censuring the execution by Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. of top opposition holy man Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr, which had been announced on the same day.

Some people mounted the walls of the consulate in Mashhad while incendiary devices were hurled at the embassy in Tehran. At least 60 people were detained over the violations of the diplomatic perimeters, which were condemned by top Iranian officials and followed by the Saudi severance of ties with the Islamic Theocratic Republic.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called for an urgent investigation into the assaults on Saudi diplomatic missions, saying the perpetrators must be "brought to justice."

In a letter to Iran's Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli-Larijani on January 6, Rouhani denounced the attacks as a breach of the Islamic Theocratic Republic's security.

He said the Judiciary must prosecute those involved in this "evidenced offense" in a bid to bring a halt to such attempts against the standing of the Islamic Theocratic Republic's establishment.

terror group could be pressed for cash, a new report claims its leaders slashed the salaries of all its fighters in half.

The "Treasury Ministry" of ISIS blamed "exceptional circumstances," The Jerusalem Post reported.

The terror group reportedly did not explain exactly what those circumstances were. However,
a hangover is the wrath of grapes...
the announcement came out in December, before the Pentagon revealed that a January Arclight airstrike took out an ISIS cash stockpile in djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, Iraq.

Terror leaders said this would not affect the collection and distribution of Zakat, a religious tax benefitting the poor, the Post adds.

Treasury minister Bayt al-Mal reportedly cited the Koran, which prioritizes "jihad of wealth," or spending in beneficial or charitable ways, over "jihad of soul."
Rudaw adds:
The coalition has since afflicted an even graver toll on the group's financial operation when it bombed the headquarters of Bayt al-Mal in djinn-infested Mosul incinerating millions of dollars in cash that ISIS had gained through oil smuggles and illegal trade.

The ISIS governor in Mosul has issued a fatwa which allows members of the group to get further money by taxing the locals who are also likely in fairly dire straits after living under the yoke of the group since June 2014.

Blue on blue fighting costs ISIS 9 dead

(IraqiNews.com) al-Anbar – A security source in Anbar province said on Monday, that 9 ISIS militants had been killed during internal clashes between the elements of the organization west of Ramadi.

The source said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “Yesterday evening, violent clashes erupted between ISIS elements in the area of al-Doulab in the city of Heet (70 km west of Ramadi),” noting that, “The clashes broke out on the back of the escape of ISIS elements and their inability to face the security forces and tribal fighters.”

The source added, “The clashes resulted in the death of nine ISIS elements including the military official for the organization in Doulab area and the military commander in the area of Jazeerat al-Baghdadi.”

Zionist-controlled media fueling Islamophobia in US: Scholar
Help! Help! I'm being micro-aggressed!
[Iran Press TV] The Zionist-controlled media in the United States have exaggerated the terrorist attacks in the country and falsely blamed them on Muslims to fuel Islamophobia
...the irrational fear that Moslems will act the way they usually do...
among Americans, an American scholar and radio host says.

"Virtually all of the 600-plus so-called terror prosecutions since 9/11 have all been complete hoaxes," said Dr. Kevin Barrett, a founding member of the Muslim-Jewish-Christian Alliance.

"The threats were fabricated by the FBI in virtually every single case and yet people don't know this because the American media is in the hands of Zionists who are committing a war crime and a crime against humanity by refusing to investigate the terror attacks attributed to Muslims which are proven over and over to have been committed by paramilitary hired killers who are the enemies of Muslims, creating these incidents to whip up Islamophobia," Barrett told Press TV on Monday.

"There is no statistically significant terror threat from anyone in the United States, much less Muslims," he added. "The major events attributed to Muslims in the United States from 9/11 onward have all been false flag events; professional killers carried out attacks designed to be blamed on Muslims."

These acts of violence falsely blamed on followers of the Islamic faith have increased attacks against American Muslims and have created anti-Muslim sentiment in the country, the scholar noted.

Islamophobia has recently spiked in the US following anti-Muslim comments by some Republican presidential candidates, especially Donald Trump and Ben Carson
... a neurosurgeon who is under the delusion that being brilliant qualifies him to be president....
In the latest case on Friday, a 43-year-old Muslim man in the Bronx borough of New York City was attacked by a group of assailants who were yelling "ISIS," a reference to the terrorist group also known as ISIL or Daesh [Islamic State].

WHAT HAPPENED OFF FARSI ISLAND?
[Spectator] In that confused environment, when Iran is characterized as a friend rather than an enemy, it's understandable -- but not forgivable -- for someone like Lt. Nartker to misunderstand his duties. Again, I'm not going to condemn him for surrendering if he was unable to resist. But how are we training our sailors and officers at this point?
Naval Academy grads are seldom complete bumblers or idiots. If you'll permit me to donn my tin foil hat I might suggest that good Lt. Nartker was delivering something on board the boats, but we'll likely never know.
Only a real and public investigation will reveal that answer. And I'll bet no such investigation will be done.
I think we know how our people were trained. And I think our people know what is expected of them should they ever be seized by a hostile power. We clearly need an investigation and I agree that it likely won't ever happen. But part of the point of an investigation is to ensure that every person in uniform knows what they're supposed to do in the event of capture.

#1  Given that the Iranians had them on their knees, it suggests that the Iranians were prepared to fight. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have approached the American boat unless they felt confident they could win. So there were going to be deaths had there been a fight. I'd rather they surrender as they did and live to fight another day. Were the Americans out of comm range? They didn't call for help or to relay their status. I saw a walkie talkie on one guy's belt. How far can that reach? The other boat only? I have a feeling maybe there was an "EMP" or other similar disabling strike? If there was an EMP strike, how did the commander call for the other boat to surrender? Could such a lack of communication led to the need for a surrender at gunpoint? Were the boats towed home or driven?

We all know what happens with investigations. We'll have to wait for someone to go public after they get pi$$ed off at this administration. Probably a few months away.

The bigger question is what was being done before they were intercepted.

US in need of political revolution since 1950s: Analyst
[Iran Press TV] The United States has needed a political revolution since the 1950s when the administration of former President Dwight D. Eisenhower began to conduct covert operations around the world, says a political analyst.

Rodney Martin, a former US congressional staffer
, made the comments in an interview with Press TV on Monday when asked about the necessity of a political revolution in the US as was suggested by Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders
...The only openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords...
earlier.

"Senator Sanders' statement that America needs a political revolution is true, interestingly, I would say that America has needed a political revolution since 1963 when president (John F.) Kennedy was assassinated, probably even before that, going back to the Eisenhower administration when the American made a policy decision to engage in covert operations around the globe and to undermine the will of their citizens," Martin said.

"Senator Sanders' statements are courageous and admirable and they're true; they are truth. The problem is the truth has never resonated in the American electorate; it's never triumphed," he added.

Martin said that the US government represents "the global interests of international banking and of huge conglomerates and most importantly (of) Jewish Zionist' interests."

Olde Tyme Religion
Could Obama's nuke deal unleash Iran's Apocalyptic Muslims?
[FoxNews] "We're not talking about 1.6 billion Muslims," he said. "We're talking about ten percent or less who are radicals."

But ten percent of 1.6 billion is still a mighty big number -- and they want to destroy Christians, Jews anyone else they consider to be an infidel.
Lemme see. The U.S. has between 5 and 8 million keepers of the Taqiyya - that gives us between 5 and 8 hundred thousand whack-jobs. Even if the numbers are overstated by a factor of 10, its still a lot of threat.
According to recent Pew polls, the real number of Muslims in the U.S. is somewhere around 2.2 million, as I recall. That 5-8 million estimate is Palestinian-style overcounting.
I'm so relieved. We only have a few thousand whack-jobs, not 5 to 8 thousand...

#4  Given that Al Qaeda did 9/11 with the full expectation that America's response would force Allah to intervene to create an apocalyptic Al Qaeda victory, the fact that they now think ISIS is nuts is more than a tad amusing. And Al Qaeda also wanted to destroy "Christians, Jews[, and] anyone else they consider to be an infidel."

Iran's apocalyptic Shiite Muslims will be unleashed when they achieve a workable nuclear bomb. Al Qaeda's and ISIS's apocalyotic Muslims have been running as amok as they were able to accomplish since 9/11. Allah is being surprisingly unresponsive, oddly enough -- it's almost as though he does not approve of the efforts of his truest believers.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Geagea endorses Aoun presidency bid in Lebanon
[Iran Press TV] Lebanese Christian politician Samir Geagea
... Geagea was imprisoned by the Syrians and their puppets for 11 years in a dungeon in the third basement level of the Lebanese Ministry of Defense. He was released after the Cedar Revolution in 2005 ...
has endorsed the candidacy of his rival Michel Aoun
...a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah...
, in a major boost for Hezbollah-backed Aoun and his supporters in their bid to fill the power vacuum in the Arab country.

Sitting alongside Aoun, Geagea made the highly-anticipated announcement on Monday in a televised news conference, urging his allies in the March 14 alliance to support Aoun's candidacy.

The endorsement could boost Aoun, the leader of the March 8 Alliance, in his attempt to fill the presidency that has been vacant for 20 months. However,
Caliphornia hasn't yet slid into the ocean, no matter how hard it's tried...
the seasoned Christian politician may need the backing of other groups to secure the necessary parliamentary support to become president.

RNC Officially Severs Ties With Nbc News For Upcoming GOP Debate
[BREITBART] The Republican National Committee (RNC) officially voted on Monday afternoon to sever its business relationship with NBC News for the previously-scheduled Feb. 26, 2016, GOP presidential primary debate, Breitbart News has learned.

The Debate Committee for the RNC met via conference call and after hearing updates from RNC chairman Reince Priebus officially voted to cancel the partnership with NBC, according to sources on the call. The vote was unanimous.

After the October debate hosted by NBC partner CNBC--in which co-moderator John Harwood was roundly criticized for a poor performance--the RNC suspended its relationship with NBC News over that upcoming Houston debate.

"I write to inform you that pending further discussion between the Republican National Committee (RNC) and our presidential campaigns, we are suspending the partnership with NBC News for the Republican primary debate at the University of Houston on February 26, 2016," Priebus wrote to NBC News chairman Andy Lack back in late October. "The RNC's sole role in the primary debate process is to ensure that our candidates are given a full and fair opportunity to lay out their vision for America's future. We simply cannot continue with NBC without full consultation with our campaigns."

In response, NBC News signaled in a statement at the time that it thought the situation could be resolved.

"This is a disappointing development," NBC News said in a statement. "However,
a good lie finds more believers than a bad truth...
along with our debate broadcast partners at Telemundo we will work in good faith to resolve this matter with the Republican Party."

This process also sparked an unprecedented meeting of brass hats with almost every GOP presidential campaign, in which campaign managers represented most of the 2016 GOP candidates to fight for better representation in the debate process. Donald Trump's team and Dr. Ben Carson
... a neurosurgeon who is under the delusion that being brilliant qualifies him to be president....
's team, as well most of the rest of the campaigns, huddled together to wrest control away from the mainstream media--which has been, until now, dominating the process.

Portland Community College to devote an entire month to 'whiteness'-shaming
[CAMPUSREFORM.ORG] Portland Community College has designated April "Whiteness History Month" (WHM), an "educational project" exploring how the "construct of whiteness" creates racial inequality.

"'Whiteness History Month: Context, Consequences, and Change' is a multidisciplinary, district-wide, educational project examining race and racism through an exploration of the construction of whiteness, its origins, and heritage," PCC states on its website. "Scheduled for the month of April 2016, the project seeks to inspire innovative and practical solutions to community issues and social problems that stem from racism."

The WHM site makes clear that the project is not a "celebratory endeavor" like heritage months, but is rather "an effort to change our campus climate" by "[challenging] the master narrative of race and racism through an exploration of the social construction of whiteness." ("Challenging the master narrative," PCC explains, "is a strategy within higher education that promotes multicultural education and equity.")

The initiative was conceived by a subcommittee of PCC's Cascade Campus Diversity Council, which noticed that "evidence from hiring data, student-led research, surveys, focus groups, college-wide emails, and other sources have illuminated the underlying reality of whiteness embedded in the overall college climate." In response, the subcommittee decided that "intentional action" was necessary across the district's four campuses to honor PCC's strategic plan, which calls on the college to "create a nationally renowned culture for diversity, equity, and inclusion."

According to a sub-page defining the term (adapted from a definition developed by the University of Calgary), whiteness "does not simply refer to skin color[,] but [to] an ideology based on beliefs, values, behaviors, habits, and attitudes, which result in the unequal distribution of power and privilege based on skin color."

Not only does the concept of whiteness allow those who are "socially deemed white" to accrue benefits, the page asserts, but those benefits "are accrued at the expense of people of color, namely in how people of color are systemically and prejudicially denied equal access to those material benefits."

The ideology of whiteness, it continues, dates back to "at least the seventeenth century, [when] 'white' appeared as a legal term and social designator determining social and political rights," a concept that eventually grew to include "thousands" of "special privileges and protections" for white citizens.

For those interested in learning even more about the study of whiteness, PCC provides a link to a portal on the school library's site listing additional resources.

Planning for the event is still ongoing, with applications being accepted until February 1 from those who wish to "get engaged" by hosting a lecture, guest speaker, panel, film screening, discussion, art exhibit, or class field trip to local art or history museums.

Bernie mopped the floor with Hillary
[NYPOST] The country is in a rage, Democrats as well as Republicans, at the brokenness of our politics and the stagnation of the middle class. Hillary Clinton
... sometimes described as The Heroine of Tuzla and at other times as Mrs. Bill, never as Another John Foster Dulles ...
cannot find a way to tap into that -- and tapping into that is all Bernie Sanders
...The only openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords...
does.

Not only did she say a few things that had Republican admakers rubbing their hands together with glee -- particularly when the subject of an FBI investigation spoke the words "no individual is too big to jail."

She also had a genuinely creepy, Michael-Corleone-in-"Godfather 2" moment when she basically said "we're both part of the same hypocrisy" after the third man in the debate, Martin O'Malley
...former Democratic governor of Maryland and aspiring presidential candidate, known locally as The One-Man Economic Wrecking Crew. O'Malley was elected to his second term driven by union support and near-Stalinesque vote margins in Baltimore city (82%) and Prince George's County (88%). He presided over more than 40 tax or fee increases, including a rain tax and a flush tax...
, criticized her for raising money on Wall Street.

She really doesn't have a choice but to position herself as the insider's insider, really, though she could do it more artfully. She talked about how O'Malley had gotten Wall Street donations when he was head of the Democratic Governors Association. "Well," O'Malley replied, "I'm not getting them now."

And we know Sanders isn't. His issue set is simple. The rich should be soaked, health care should be single-payer and banks are screwing you. The reason good things don't happen, in his view, is that rich people control politics through our campaign finance system.

He's not compelled to deliver the coup de grace -- which is that Clinton's career is simply another manifestation of the ailment plaguing America -- because it is ragingly obvious.

Instead, he mentioned Goldman Sachs, the Wall Street financial firm, twice -- to make the point that both the George W. Bush and Barack B.O. regimes had a Goldman Sachs alum as Treasury secretary.

And of course Hillary Clinton took hundreds of thousands of dollars in speaking fees from the firm, which makes it difficult for her to stage a counterattack on the point.

On health care, Clinton seemed to walk into a trap. She found herself defending the charge made (by her daughter!) that Bernie Sanders would dismantle ObamaCare.

He made incredibly short work of that by saying that he voted for ObamaCare and simply wants it to be the opening step toward what he calls "Medicare For All" -- meaning a single-payer government health care system.

A Benghazi cleric has died following a shooting incident at a mosque in the city’s Birkah district this evening. Sheikh Abdul-Hakim Ghariani was shot three times while running a Koranic class at the Suhaib Rumi Mosque. He was rushed to Benghazi Medical Centre for emergency surgery but was later reported to have died of his injuries.

Americans reported kidnapped from Baghdad 'brothel' named
[FOXNEWS] A group of Americans who disappeared in Baghdad over the weekend were kidnapped from their interpreter's apartment, according to multiple Iraqi sources.

One of the Americans is a woman, The Wall Street Journal reports.A police official identified the woman as Iraqi-American Russel Furat. An Iraqi military official told the newspaper the two men kidnapped are Iraqi-American Wael al-Mahdawy and Egyptian-American Amro Mohammed.

A police major general described the apartment as a brothel, The Washington Post reports, adding that it was subject to frequent raids by Shiite militias. However,
if you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning...
many people in the region refer to any building that accepts foreigners as a "brothel," and the Iraqi military reportedly denied that was the apartment's use.

"We are in very direct contact with the Iraqi authorities... there is a very full effort going to find them as soon as possible," Secretary of State John F. I was in Vietnam, you know Kerry
Former Senator-for-Life from Massachussetts, self-defined war hero, speaker of French, owner of a lucky hat, conqueror of Cambodia, and current Secretary of State...
told Fox News Monday.

An Iraqi intelligence official told the News Agency that Dare Not be Named that the Americans were invited into the apartment in the neighborhood of Dora. After they were kidnapped, they were taken to Sadr City, at which point the official said, "all communications and contact stopped."

A front man for Baghdad's Joint Operations Command told The Washington Post that the three citizens were Iraqis who had acquired U.S. citizenship. A Baghdad police official said they worked as contractors at Baghdad International Airport, but did not say which country employed them.

There were no immediate claims of responsibility. Kidnappings in Iraq have been carried out by ISIS, Shiite militias and criminal gangs often demanding ransom payments or seeking to resolve workplace disputes.

I wonder, how does one become '-American'?
Are there 'Native American-Americans'? Should there be 'former Chicago-Americans'? Are "Whites" really 'Anglo-American' like 'Irish-Americans'? Can one really only be a 'Latino' in America? Are there 'Afro-Russians' or 'Latino-Chinese'? Maybe Afrikaners are really 'Afro-Africans' or 'Euro-Africans'?

Doesn't Make a Lot of Sense.
Bombshell emails from the State Department show that a top official at the agency suggested to Hillary Clinton's aide, Huma Abedin, in August 2011 that the then-secretary of state begin using a government email account to protect against unexpected outages of her private email server.
So, the State Department lied.
But as the emails show, Abedin pushed back on the suggestion, telling the official, Stephen D. Mull, then the executive secretary of the State Department, that a State-issued Blackberry equipped with a state.gov email address "doesn't make a lot of sense."
It makes sense if you want to hide your emails from FOI requests.
Besides showing that Clinton's top aides were against the idea of her using a state.gov email account, the emails show for the first time that top State Department officials were aware of Clinton's private email server arrangement.

The Daily Caller obtained the emails through a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed on its behalf by the government watchdog group, Cause of Action.
Very clearly Hilarity didn't want her communications to be kept by the government. I suspect that's because a fair bit of what she did as Sec. of State was to help the Clinton Foundation and not our country.

#1  So both Abedin and Mull knew that there would likely be security violations resulting from the Beest's use of a private, UNCLAS system.

The Beest was violating Foggy Bottom communications policy as well as the law, and these two foks were complicit. Time for some indictments.

#3  I suspect that's because a fair bit of what she did as Sec. of State was to help the Clinton Foundation and not our country.

Partly that. Partly also because I suspect a lot of the administration's foreign policy schtuff was being kept "off the books."

I've no doubt that government-via-private-email is rampant and has been since 2008.

ISIS Iraq Top Dawg has a very Bad Day, courtesy US war birds
ERBIL – An airstrike by the U.S.-led coalition on Monday killed several militants of the Islamic State (ISIS), including the commander of the group’s operations in Baaj district in Mosul suburb in northwestern Iraq.

At least nine leading members of the extremist group were killed in the airstrike, including Hajim Ahmed al-Aswad –ISIS leader in Baaj.

An Iraqi officer in the Nineveh police department confirmed in an interview with ARA News the death al-Aswad along with eight other prominent militants of ISIS in an airstrike that hit the group’s headquarters in the Shishan neighborhood of Baaj district.

“Al-Aswad and others commanders of Daesh (ISIS) were meeting in the group’s headquarters in Baaj when a U.S. airstrike hit the building,” said the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

This comes just three days after a similar airstrike hit the group’s headquarters in Mosul city, killing more than 30 ISIS militants.

Pentagon May Demote David Petraeus
[Daily Beast] The Defense Secretary is looking to put the clamp down on misbehaving generals. Pentagon insiders say Petraeus could be the next general to face the consequences.

The Pentagon is considering retroactively demoting retired Gen. David Petraeus after he admitted to giving classified information to his biographer and mistress while he was still in uniform, three people with knowledge of the matter told The Daily Beast.

The decision now rests with Secretary of Defense Ash Carter, who is said to be willing to consider overruling an earlier recommendation by the Army that Petraeus not have his rank reduced. Such a demotion could cost the storied general hundreds of thousands of dollars--and deal an additional blow to his once-pristine reputation.

"The secretary is considering going in a different direction" from the Army, a defense official told The Daily Beast, because he wants to be consistent in his treatment of senior officers who engage in misconduct and to send a message that even men of Petraeus's fame and esteemed reputation are not immune to punishment.
Last week's closed door session with Gowdy and crew must have been quite interesting. Appears to be time to kick the dog and remind everyone exactly who the boss is.

#5  1 - Kay Summersby to the courtesy phone.

2 - Depends on the classified material exposed. Remember 'he' was the classification authority by position for a lot of stuff. He who classifies can declassify. It's outside stuff that becomes the problem.

This may be a desperate attempt to take someone out as the next SecDef. We're not just talking Champ/Rice/ValJar, but cleaning the five sided house as well.

#6  The regime could be pressuring Petraeus to tamp down some of the rhetoric from people like former DIA Director General (Ret) Mike Flynn or former DCI Gates. These highly respected leaders have been very vocal in their condemnation of the regime's goals and objectives of late.

John Kerry declares Obama's work with Iran a success: 'The world is a safer place today'
[WASHINGTONTIMES] Secretary of State John F. Kerry said Monday that the world is safer now that major provisions of the historic Iranian nuclear deal were implemented over the weekend.

"The world is safer today," Mr. Kerry said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe." "Before we had this agreement, Iran had a completely invisible, unaccountable, unverified nuclear program."

Iran had 19,000 centrifuges and enough material to make 10-12 bombs "and they were hurtling towards a program that was going to create inevitability of confrontation," Mr. Kerry said.

"Today, that is not true," he said. "That is entirely reversed."

Economic sanctions on Iran were lifted Saturday after the U.N. nuclear watchdog agency determined that Iran has complied with its part of the deal to curb Tehran's nuclear program.

Over $9 billion stolen in Nigeria in seven years: Minister
[Iran Press TV] Fifty-five Nigerians, including former ministers, governors, business leaders and public officials, have stolen nine billion dollars in public funds in seven years, the information minister claims.

Addressing news hounds at a Monday presser in the Nigerian capital Abuja, Lai Mohammed said that the money was stolen between 2006 and 2013, without identifying the accused.

The looted funds could have built 36 hospitals or educated 4,000 children through university, Mohammed said.

"The situation is dire and the time to act is now," he noted.

The minister also appealed to Nigerians to join the fight against corruption that is crippling Africa's biggest economy, population and oil producer.

"If we don't kill corruption, corruption will kill Nigeria," he stressed.

According to Mohammed, the stolen money included USD 2.1 billion meant to buy weapons to fight the Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
terrorist group but instead was diverted to the election campaign of former President Goodluck Jonathan
... 14th President of Nigeria. He was Governor of Bayelsa State from 9 December 2005 to 28 May 2007, and was sworn in as Vice President on 29 May 2007. Jonathan is a member of the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP). He is a lover of nifty hats, which makes him easily recognizable unless someone else in the room is wearing a neat chapeau.Other than that he's pretty useless as the Boko Haram debacle shows..
