Best take I've read is that the lefties, who profess to be so horrified of Trump, are not leaving the country, while thousands risked -- or gave -- their lives to escape Castro's Cuba.

Did I miss Dan Rather going to CNN?
I can't believe that they're trying the old "fake but accurate" $hit again.

Imagine you are one of the anti-Trump folks who believe we just elected a racist, sexist, homophobic, anti-semitic, science-denying dictator. Let’s say that’s the movie playing in your mind. That’s some scary stuff.
...As Trump continues to demonstrate that he was never the incompetent monster his critics believed him to be, the critics will face an identity crisis. They either have to accept that they understand almost nothing about how the world works ‐ because they got everything wrong about Trump ‐ or they need to double-down on their current hallucination. Most of his critics will double-down. That’s how normal brains work.
And that brings us to our current situation. As Trump continues to defy all predictions from his critics, the critics need to maintain their self-images as the smart ones who saw this new Hitler coming. And that means you will see hallucinations like you have never seen. It will be epic.

(I hope) its kinda like when a head is moving in one direction, stops suddenly so that the brain inside sloshes forward, then the head rebounds in the reverse direction from the impact and strikes another surface causing the brain to slosh in the other direction.

I read this on Insty earlier. The underlying assumption, mistaken IMHO, is that these people will ever recognize that Trump is defying their predictions.
Their predictions are gospel and nothing he could possibly do, other than surrender totally to the socialist ideal, would ever be recognized as being anything other than proof of his r,s,h,a-s,s-d dictatorial evil.
You can, IIUC, be subject to congnitive dissonance if you are capable of recognizing reality outside of your hallucinations. They can't.
There "reality" is impervious to anything external to their mental constructs.

Have you ever had someone tell you that Socialism is fluffy bunnies, rainbows, and dancing unicorns? Any Real Life counter example is waved off as being something other than True Socialism(c).

Radiation expert, 46, who investigated the 'assassination' of KGB spy Alexander Litvinenko 'killed himself by stabbing his arms and chest repeatedly five months after a trip to Russia'
A radiation expert who investigated the 'assassination' of Alexander Litvinenko was found dead five months after a trip to Russia, an inquest heard.
Matthew Puncher, 46, bled to death at his home from multiple stab wounds inflicted by two knives.
A pathologist said he could not ' exclude' the possibility that someone else was involved in the death - but concluded the injuries were self-inflicted.
It led a coroner to record that Dr Puncher - who discovered the amount of toxic polonium inside ex-KGB agent Litvinenko after he drank poisoned tea in London in 2006 - committed suicide.
The inquest also heard the scientist had 'become obsessed' with a coding error he made in his research which he feared could 'land him in prison' for breaking a contract with the US Government, while his wife said his mood had 'completely changed' following a trip to Russia.
Dr Puncher was found dead at his home in Drayton, Oxfordshire, in May with stab wounds to his arms, neck and upper abdomen.

[Aljazeera] The Iraqi parliament has passed a bill recognising the Shia militia fighters, the Popular Mobilisation Forces, as a government entity operating alongside the military.
The bill passed on Saturday will see the establishment of the Popular Mobilisation Forces Commission, which critics said could only widen sectarian divisions in the war-torn country.
Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi welcomed the legislation, which was supported by 208 of the parliament's 327 members, saying the newly-formed force "will represent and defend all Iraqis wherever they are."

[Breitbart Texas] Almost all of the marijuana and the methamphetamine that are seized in the U.S. are coming from Mexico, according to a new report.
Most illegal substances are crossing through the area known as the Rio Grande Valley in Texas and through the Arizona border.
As Breitbart Texas has reported, the Rio Grande Valley has been ground zero for a surge in human smuggling at the hands of Mexico’s Gulf Cartel. In addition to flooding the Texas border with millions of pounds of marijuana, the criminal organization has been pushing hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants through their areas of influence. The move has allowed the criminal organization to overwhelm the enforcement and detention capabilities of the federal government.
The new stats on the drugs arriving almost exclusively from Mexico come from the advocacy group Drugabuse.com; based on figures and statistics from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, as well as the FBI and DEA. The information was initially published by the Washington Examiner this week.

Fu@king Duh. That's a far bigger reason that the Mexican gummint doesn't want that wall built - for all of their war on drugs, they're still taking a helluva cut.

The Mexican meth and heroin is a clear and present danger. A majority of burglaries and robberies are committed to buy this poison - cash shipped straight back to Mexico... The price is too cheap, and the quantities too large to fight at the local level, it must be a strategic effort.

[Breitbart] Although Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti warned President-elect Trump that defunding Sanctuary Cities would cause "social, economic and security problems," Sanctuary California could face bankruptcy if the Trump administration follows through on threats to pull billions in federal funding.
There are 300 "Sanctuary Cities" and counties around the United States that have policies in place blocking local law enforcement from complying with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainer requests for immigration holds.
An ICE detainer is a written request for a local jail or other law enforcement agency to detain an individual for an additional 48 hours (excluding weekends and holidays) after his or her release date, in order to provide ICE agents extra time to decide whether to take the individual into federal custody for removal purposes.
The Department of Justice’s Inspector General (IG) issued a memorandum in August that advised that sanctuary city practices violate federal law. The IG finding empowers Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), if confirmed as U.S. Attorney General, to strip sanctuary cities -- including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. -- of certain federal law enforcement grants. He can also seek court orders to strip federal grants from any government entities refusing to comply with U.S. laws.

The moonbat california legislature and these sanctuary cities will have to put up their own money if they want their own agenda, and not being financed from the feral govt. This is just an introduction to financing an independent (future) failed state.

If you're going to speed down the road, we don't believe the best vehicle for the task is an eye-catching prototype of an upcoming American supercar.
Still, that didn't stop a trio of Ford Motor Company engineers from pushing the throttle down a bit when traipsing through the Colorado mountains during testing for the upcoming GT supercar back in September. Two of three were said to have been clocked driving 101 mph in a 50 zone, while one wasn't speeding. Honest officer, relatively speaking, it could have been waaaay worse!
Now though, as Vail Daily reports, it seems the accrued charges are being dropped.
Because the three vehicles are the same make, model and color, and they were all wearing identical manufacturer plates, the prosecutors can't accurately say which driver was behind the wheel of which car. Since one of the three drivers was observing the speed limit, that means the goody-two-shoes of the bunch just ensured that the whole trio gets off without a blemish on their driving records. Hopefully he isn't the kind who will let them forget it. Ever. >:-}
When you can't tell who was behind the wheel of the two offending cars, then you can't correctly meter out punishment. Had all three been clocked at the same 101 mph pace, then the speeding and reckless driving charges first applied would still stand. Instead, the Ford engineers are probably relegated to a good tongue lashing from the higher ups and then a sly thumbs up afterward for getting the cars in the news. Hmm. Sounds like Trump may have organized this test drive.
The same probably isn't true for the 19-year-old that was caught going 208 mph in a modified Mustang a week ago.
[Guardian] When Dina Gold began searching for the Berlin property seized from her family by the Nazis in the 1930s, she had little idea she would unearth a dark secret ‐ how the SS paid millions in premiums to insure a key part of Auschwitz and other death camps to what is still one of Germany’s top insurance companies.
Gold, a former BBC reporter now living in Washington, wrote earlier this year about her quest to find the massive Berlin building that had housed the headquarters of fur traders H Wolff, owned by her grandparents, which was taken over by the Nazis in 1937, four years after Adolf Hitler came to power.
Stolen Legacy related how her search was prompted by the stories her grandmother, Nellie Wolff, told of her family’s life in pre-Nazi Germany and how they had owned a huge building in the centre of Berlin, which served as the headquarters of their successful business. Nellie died in 1977, leaving nothing to help locate the property or prove its ownership. When the Berlin Wall fell in 1989, Gold set out to find the truth.

Come to think of it, none of this makes sense. Why would the all-powerful SS pay premiums -- unless of course there was a kick-back to Himmler and his leadership.
#5
...It's a matter of record that after Kristallnacht - which would have bankrupted several German insurance companies - Reichmarschall Hermann Goering sat down with the heads of all the German insurance companies and explained to them how it would work: They would only have to pay about half of what they owed, and an appreciable portion of that would go to him. There was some argument, but only to the extent that the insurance companies thought they were still paying too much.
With that in mind, I have no doubt that - especially once the war started - the companies happily cooperated.

How does the SS, repeat the SS, paying premiums have anything to do with CONTROL? This seems to have been a kickback scheme pure and simple.
[Washington Examiner] Former presidential hopeful Rev. Jesse Jackson called on Americans to celebrate the life of Fidel Castro, calling the deceased Cuban dictator a "freedom fighter" and "poor people's hero."
In a Saturday evening statement, the civil rights leader urged the nation to join "oppressed people" across the globe in celebration of "the life of a liberator who fought and won against the rich and oligarch rule of [former Cuban President Fulgencio] Batista."
Cuban television announced the death of the 90-year old dictator late Friday evening. Response to the news was dramatic and diverse, triggering tears in Ottawa, Canada as well as dancing in the streets of Miami, Florida.
The response from Washington was mixed. A hesitant President Obama offered his condolences to Castro's family while President-elect Trump celebrated the news, describing the deceased as a "brutal dictator."
Jackson was unwavering in his support for the controversial Cuban leader, who is accused of murdering tens of thousands of political dissidents. After trips to Havana and Harlem, the two could even be described as friends.

[Wash Times] An 18-year-old ban on importing British sheep could be coming to an end and, with it, a ban on importing Scottish haggis, CNN reported Wednesday.
CNN reported Wednesday that Scottish authorities believe they are close to hammering out a deal with the U.S. government that could rescind the 1997 ban, which was spurred by fears stemming from the "mad cow" epidemic of the mid 1990s.
Since the ban went into effect, sheep meat and sheep organs have not been imported into the United States. Haggis traditionally incorporates ground-up sheep’s heart, liver and lungs as well as oats and spices, all squeezed as a sausage into a casing made from sheep intestines.
Tasty, right?
Of course, some haggis purists might turn up their noses at the product the U.S. government eventually permits for importation: a reversal of the 1971 ban on selling sheep lung for human dietary consumption is unlikely, according to CNN.

ALEPPO: The Syrian Army advanced in Aleppo on Friday, pounding the rebel-held east with strikes that killed dozens and added to the despair for more than 250,000 civilians under siege.
Ten days into the Syrian government's renewed bid to recapture all of battered second city Aleppo, regime bombardment has killed nearly 190 civilians and left residents desperate for respite.
The regime is hoping to score its most important victory yet of the five-year civil war, dealing a potentially decisive blow to the rebels by recapturing eastern neighborhoods they overran in 2012.

[IsraelTimes] Authorities say Nicolas Blancho failed to ’explicitly distance himself from al-Qaeda activities’ while filming movie in Syria last year.
Swiss federal prosecutors said Saturday a criminal probe into suspected jihadist propaganda has been expanded to include the leader of the country’s largest Islamic organization.
The office of Switzerland ...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell... ’s attorney general confirmed in an email to AFP that Nicolas Blancho, of the Islamic Central Council of Switzerland (ICCS), was under investigation.
The ICCS slammed the move as "political" and said it was ready to "counter the accusations in a courtroom."
Prosecutors opened the case last December, charging that an ICCS board member -- German national Naim Cherni -- had violated "the prohibition of groups like al-Qaeda, Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... and similar organizations."
He was suspected of creating "for propaganda purposes" a video from a trip into parts of war-ravaged Syria, "without having explicitly distanced himself from al-Qaeda activities" in the country, last year’s statement said.
On Saturday, the attorney general’s office said its probe "has been expanded to the president of the ICCS and to one other ICCS committee member," who was identified by the organization as its front man, Qaasim Illi.
In an interview with the NZZ daily on Friday, Attorney General Michael Lauber said the case was "of high priority, because we want to know how far freedom of expression goes when it comes to criminal propaganda for a terrorist organization."
Cherni’s video included an interview with a senior member of the jihad umbrella organization Jaish al-Fath ("Army of Conquest"), which counts as a member the al-Qaeda-linked Nusra Front, which has renamed itself Fatah al-Sham.
He insisted the film was a documentary and was not meant as propaganda.
The ICCS has continued to promote the film, which remains accessible on YouTube. It has been viewed more than 100,000 times over the past year.
Lauber told NZZ he hoped the case would go before Switzerland’s federal criminal court next year.
ICCS chief Blancho said in a statement on the organization’s website he would welcome his day in court to defend Moslems against "political bullying."
[AAWSAT] Beirut- A Kurdish leader said the international coalition, whose mission was to provide logistic and advisory support to the predominantly Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), has been fighting face to face against ISIS with Kurdish People’s Protection Units militia (YPG).
The leader noted that U.S. and European soldiers are also fighting ISIS militants in the field.
Adviser to the SDF general command Nasser Mansour told Asharq Al-Awsat that U.S. soldiers and others affiliated with the international coalition are fighting ISIS for the first time in the battlefield.
Mansour said that in previous battles there used to be advisors and commanders in the operations room in addition to foreigners who fight under the banner of YPG.
However, since the beginning of the Raqqa battle, soldiers working for the coalition have started fighting ISIS on land, noting that the American who died in a landmine explosion in Tal al-Samn was a soldier in the U.S. army, added Mansour.
Washington announced on Friday the death of the first American soldier in Syria, precisely in the vicinity of Ayn Issa in northern Raqqa by an improvised explosive device.
“The entire counter-ISIS coalition sends its condolences to this hero’s, family, friends and teammates,” said Lt. Gen Stephen Townsend, the commander of the U.S.-led coalition fighting ISIS in Iraq and Syria.
However, Director of Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) Rami Abdel Rahman told Asharq Al-Awsat that two other American soldiers were killed earlier in June in Syria although Washington claimed this was the first casualty for U.S. forces in the country’s fighting.
According to several reports, “massive quantities of mines,” planted by the extremist organization in villages its militants withdrew or were expelled from in Raqqa, are hindering the movement of Kurdish fighters.
Kurds expressed their fear that the campaign launched on November 5 to fight ISIS in Raqqa with the support of the U.S.-led coalition will take much more time than expected to achieve its target.

[Libya Observer] al-Thanni government of the Tobruk-based House of Representatives confirmed that what it described as high-profile officials ordered and executed the abduction of the Head of the Prime Minister's Office, al-Ameen al-Hawail.
In a statement Friday, the government said it contacted, together with the General Investigation Apparatus, many phone calls until finally reaching the kidnappers, who said they were related to the judicial personnel.
"But the arrest of al-Hawail was done without any legal justification." The government added.
"We’re doing what we’re told by some high-profile officials." The kidnappers told the government when it figured out where they were holding al-Hawail, without saying out the names of those officials, according to the statement.
It added that the government is working tirelessly on all threads that can lead to the revelation of the reason behind the kidnap, pointing out that this kind of behavior is a first and a blindingly obvious indication that shows how weak the legitimacy of the government institutions is.

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] Afghanistan showed a strong reaction on Pak military’s flag-lowering ceremony along the Durand Line, calling it an inappropriate, provocative, and against the previous bilateral commitments.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan (MoFA) said the Afghan government offers its strong protest regarding the flag-hoisting and a special ceremony by Pak military along the zero point of the Durand Line.
Warning that such ceremonies could deteriorate the relations between the two countries, MoFA said the relations between Kabul ...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either.... and Islamabad is in a sensitive situation and such moves could further spark tensions.
MoFA further added that the residents of the two sides of Durand Line are having historic brotherly relations, insisting that Pakistain should concentrate more on the fight against terrorism rather holding special military ceremonies.

The issue of Durand Line remains controversial between the two countries as Pakistain insists that the line is an international border and has been formally recognized by the international community, including the United States.

[AmericanThinker] Obsession over the Houris is not limited to arcane Islamic texts or ISIS ("which has nothing to do with Islam"). Over the years I have watched numerous videos of Muslim men discussing their excitement at the prospect of dying in the jihad and being rushed to the embraces of the supernatural celestial women. For an idea of how pervasive the Houri is in Islam, consider its impact on Muslim women, as demonstrated in a video of a Muslim cleric taking and answering questions via phone calls. A woman called in expressing outrage at the Houris, saying she would be driven "mad with jealousy" seeing her husband copulating with these supernaturally beautiful women all day in heaven.
The cleric responded telling her that "when you enter paradise, Allah will remove the jealousy from your heart. And have no fear, for you will lord over the Houris and be their queen." Still apprehensive, the Muslim wife pleaded: "But must he have the Houris?" Laughing, the cleric reassured her: "Look, when you enter paradise, you will be more beautiful than the Houris ‐ you will be their mistress. Okay? And when you enter paradise, Allah will remove any jealousy or concerns from your heart."

[DeutscheWelle] The 20-year-old man was arrested in the southern German city of Ulm after trying to enter Denmark with bomb-making materials. Investigators believe he sympathized with the 'Islamic State' (IS) Lion of Islam group.
Stuttgart confirmed on Thursday that the Syrian refugee was enjugged Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un! on Sunday.
The 20-year-old man had failed to cross into Denmark a day earlier, they said.
Investigators believe he was planning to carry out an attack after discovering that he had obtained material which could be used to build weapons or bombs.
Spokesman Jan Holzner told the Rooters news agency that the suspect had been in Germany for some time but it was not clear when he entered the country. Holzner did not identify the man and did not know whether the man had been granted asylum. He had been living in a refugee shelter in southwest Germany.
And, like a thoughtful guest, he was careful not to blow up his hosts, but only his hosts' neighbours.
"We have evidence that he sympathized with "Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... "," Holzner said.
It was not clear if the man had been in contact with IS members outside of Germany, he added.
A statement later on Thursday by prosecutors gave additional details, saying there were no indications of a concrete threat.

This one doesn't take a god-inspired Cassandra to predict -- any old Cassie can see it, too.
[AAWSAT] Beirut- The Syria Civil Defense, or White Helmets, has warned that the people living in the besieged eastern part of Aleppo are facing starvation and death if much needed humanitarian aid and medical supplies are not delivered within 10 days.
The warning came as Syria’s regime presses the fierce assault on opposition-held eastern Aleppo. The siege has made life harder for civilians who are being forced to sift through garbage for food and scavenge firewood from bombed-out buildings.
With winter setting in, shortages of food, medicine and fuel coupled with intense air strikes and artillery bombardment are testing the limits of endurance among a population the United Nations estimates at 275,000 people.
Ammar Salmo, the head of the White Helmets’ operations in Aleppo, said that the civil defense’s warning over famine came after people began to fear dying of hunger rather than getting killed in a military offensive.
Salmo said that a civil defense center was hit in an air strike on Friday and the last maternity hospital went out of service after it was fully destroyed.
All other hospitals are no longer functioning except for a few medical centers that help the wounded.
Salmo said the condition of the injured is much worse. “They are neither receiving the necessary treatment, nor have enough food.”
“Water is contaminated and groceries are almost nonexistent,” he told Asharq Al-Awsat.
“You cannot imagine how the situation is,” the head of the Syria Civil Defense, Raed Al Saleh, told Reuters through a translator. Saleh was in Stockholm to receive the Right Livelihood Award, known as Sweden’s “alternative Nobel prize.”
“Doctors and the rescue workers in Aleppo are just using what’s left of the equipment after bombardments to do whatever they can do,” Saleh said.
Saleh said the White Helmets had lost 50 percent of their equipment in the last two months.
“We have consumed all the stock of first aid kits in our centers and we have consumed all our stock of gas masks.
We are concerned that within ten days we may consume all our remaining stock of diesel which is required for the ambulances and the trucks to move,” he said.
The White Helmets director said his workers had responded to approximately ten chlorine attacks in Aleppo in the last ten days – the last being on Wednesday.
Rami Abdulrahman, director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which monitors the Syrian conflict, said the Observatory had documented two incidents of chlorine attacks in the past fortnight.
A Red Cross official also told DPA news agency on Friday that the humanitarian situation inside eastern Aleppo “is worsening by the day.”
Food stocks are running low, causing the prices of basic food items such as bread, flour, lentils and milk to skyrocket, said Ingy Sedky, spokeswoman of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Damascus.
Sedky added that fuel is running critically low in most neighborhoods in the city, and many people are completely deprived of electricity and heating in the current winter season.
“Bakeries, hospitals and homes are reliant on generators and in some cases communal generators have been shut down, leaving civilians in multiple neighborhoods without access to any form of electricity,” Sedky said.

"They assaulted the family members, including women, before taking away the girl at gunpoint," he said.
The family members alleged that the girl was taken to the mayor’s home and immediately married to Rana.

President Korban Ali, ward unit Awami League President Mizanur Rahman and several other leaders of the ruling party and its affiliates were involved in the abduction.
The girl’s brother said that they were later called to the mayor’s home. "They threatened to kill us if we reported the matter to the police," he said.
The family members claimed that they had not reported the incident to police in view of life threats. They suspect that the local mayor was also involved.
Selim Hossain, officer-in-charge of Bagmara police, said that they had moved to rescue the girl, but were later informed by Taherpur Mayor Abul Kalam Azad that she was safe and sound at his home.
"Rana and the girl were in a relationship. She was brought from her home as the family rejected the marriage proposal," said Mizanur.
When contacted, Mayor Azad said that the girl had not been married off with Rana and problems between two families over the issue had been solved.
Marriage Registrar Abdul Malek said that he had not registered the marriage as the girl was below 18.

[EXPRESS.CO.UK] Abdur Raheem Green, a Moslem convert who has been placed on international "movement alert list" by Australia's government and banned from Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium for making anti-Semitic comments, addressed students at a Soas Islamic Society charity event.
Mr Green is known for preaching at Hyde Park corner in London and has previously claimed the conflict between Islam and Western societies is "ordered in the Koran".
He has also preached: "Dying while fighting jihad is one of the surest ways to paradise and Allah’s good pleasure."
In 2005 he was stopped from boarding a flight to Australia after being placed on a "movement alert list" over concerns about his radical rhetoric.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) have made several advances in the eastern countryside of the Aleppo Governorate today, forcing the so-called "Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) retreat east towards their stronghold of al-Bab.
Led by the Elite Republican Guard, the Syrian Arab Army managed to liberate the small village of Umm Ahmad al-Talatin after overrunning the Islamic State's main defensive line this afternoon.
In addition to liberating the village of Umm Ahmad al-Talatin, the Syrian Arab Army has captured a number of small hilltops en route to the strategic radar base located directly west of al-Bab.
The Syrian Armed Forces were able to make these rapid gains today, thanks in large-part to the Kurdish-led "Syrian Democratic Forces" (SDF), who have applied pressure on the Islamic State's positions in the north.

[AlManar] A car bomb exploded near a busy market in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu on Saturday killing at least eight people, police said, as medical sources warned the toll could be far higher.
“We have counted about eight civilians so far who were killed in the blast and more than 10 others wounded but the death toll could be higher because the area is a market and it was so densely populated when the blast occurred, most people who were wounded have serious injuries,” said police official Ibrahim Mohamed.
Medical sources suggested nearly 30 people had been killed, but this was not confirmed by authorities.
“Our ambulances have collected 13 wounded civilians and 28 dead bodies, the toll could be higher because of the density of the location where the blast occurred,” Dr Abdukadir Abdirahman Adem, director of the AMIN ambulance service told AFP.
The blast took place in the densely populated Afisiyone area in southern Mogadishu.
[ALMASDARNEWS] Radical Saudi holy man, Sheikh 'Abdullah Muhaysni, told a TV news hound this week that The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... must intervene in Syria to defeat the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and government.
"How long will Turkey and its people allow the regime's oppression to continue?" the radical holy man said in the interview.
Muhaysni believes its Turkey's Islamic duty to defeat the Syrian government, despite his past promises of defeating the Syrian Arab Army with jihadist rebels.
"Why doesn't Turkey use its powerful army against the Syrian regime; it is their duty," Muhaysni added.

At least four militants were killed in retaliatory fire by security forces when they launched a "suicide attack" on a camp of the Mohmand Rifles Headquarters in Mohmand Agency on Saturday.
Two soldiers of the Frontier Corps (FC) were killed in the attack in Ghalanai, DG Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Asim Bajwa said on Twitter.
He said security forces had "defeated" the attack, killing all four suicide bombers. At least 14 FC men were injured in the attack.
The Jamaat-ul-Ahrar
...a powerful faction of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan...
militant group claimed responsibility for the attack.
Four suicide bombers attempted to enter the camp at 6:20am and attack a mosque in a residential area where a large number of soldiers were attending morning prayers.
“Wearing suicide jackets, the attackers opened fire and tried to rush inside the mosque,” the ISPR said in a statement.
“Security forces surrounded the attackers. Two of the attackers blew themselves up while two others were shot dead,” it added.
The attackers were contained in the outer courtyard of the mosque.
A curfew was imposed in Mohmand Agency following the incursion as gunship helicopters searched the area.
Mohmand is one of Pakistan’s seven tribal agencies near the Afghan border where the military has been battling Al-Qaeda and Taliban-linked militants for over a decade.
The army launched operation Zarb-i-Azb in June 2014 in a bid to wipe out militant bases in the northwestern tribal areas. Security has since improved though scattered attacks still take place.
In September this year, a suicide bomber targeted a mosque in Mohmand Agency's Anbar tehsil during Friday prayers, leaving at least 24 people dead.
Long. It's been a busy week, with lots of unexpected teamwork.

Here's a link to an article about the supertanker plane that I'm glad helped out in Israel.
I don't know if this is related to the Evergreen supertanker that was sent over from Oregon last time around in 2010. I thought it was scrapped because it wasn't economically viable, but here it is again in one form or another.

Santa Ana winds as weapon against the coastal elites in San Berdoo and LA? But more realistically and more troubling is that wide open border to the south. An invitation to ISIS and others.
Scary thought with the right weather pattern, what a knowledgeable wilderness fire analyst and few dozen coordinated people could do with nothing more than a smart phone, a bag of cotton balls, a can of charcoal starter and a lighter. With typical online maps that have terrain, winds and fire potentials noted they could plan and execute a firestorm larger than any seen to date. Dresden comes to mind.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Syrian government forces have retaken "full control" of the rebel-held district of Masaken Hanano in northern battlefield city Aleppo, state media said on Saturday.
State television said "the armed forces retook full control" of the largest rebel district in the east of the city, and official news agency SANA said operations were now under way to clear it of mines and bombs.
"The armed forces retook full control of Masaken Hanano after having put an end to the presence of faceless myrmidons there," the state broadcaster said, referring to the rebels fighting the regime of Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad Trampler of Homs... SANA said government forces, backed by its allies, also recaptured the area around the district and "army engineers are clearing it of bombs and explosives planted by the faceless myrmidons in the streets and squares."
The capture of Masaken Hanano in the northeast of Aleppo could give the army line-of-fire control over several other parts of the city’s rebel-held east.
Regime forces had been advancing inside the neighborhood for several days, and on Friday state television ... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
said they were progressing "from three axes."
The operation is part of a major offensive now in its 12th day to take back all of Aleppo, Syria’s second city and its economic capital before the war broke out in March 2011.
Since November 15, regime bombardment of eastern Aleppo has killed 212 civilians, including 27 children, according to the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
Observatory head rami Abdel Rahman told AFP on Saturday that the government forces were in control of 80 percent of Masaken Hanano and had the rest in their line of fire.
"They just hundreds of metres (yards) away from isolating the northern districts of east Aleppo from the southern ones," he said.

Salahuddin – (IraqiNews.com) An explosives mini-factory run by Islamic State militants in Salahuddin was destroyed by Iraqi army drones on Saturday, army media services reported.
CH4 drones destroyed a booby-trapped vehicle parked outside a haven for IED manufacturing in the village of Zawiya that contained more than 200 IEDs, the War Media Cell said in a statement.
Iraqi security forces occasionally report the destruction of booby-trapped vehicles which ISIS have used in their resistance to military and police operations.
Deadly explosions surged in Iraq since Islamic State militants took over a big proportion of Iraqi soils in 2014. The United Nations said earlier this month that at least 58000 people died in violence since then.
Iraqi security forces, assisted by US-led air forces and popular militias, continue operations seeking to clear the country from ISIS militants. The group has been sustaining defeats and losing ground since the beginning of an operation in October to retake the city of Mosul, its most outstanding stronghold in Iraq. It, however, began to carry out attacks at other provinces, something which observers believe is aimed at distracting security attention from Mosul and to divert focus away from its defeats there.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] ISIS grabbed credit on Friday for an attack on an Egyptian military checkpoint in northern Sinai Peninsula that killed at least 12 soldiers.
An Islamist insurgency in the rugged, thinly populated Sinai has gained pace since the military toppled President Mohammed Mursi of the Moslem Brüderbund, Egypt’s oldest Islamist movement, in mid-2013 following mass protests against his rule.
The Lion of Islam group staging the insurgency pledged allegiance to ISIS in 2014 and adopted the name Sinai Province. It is blamed for killing hundreds of Egyptian soldiers and police since then.
"An gang of terrorist elements attacked a checkpoint in North Sinai on Thursday night using four-wheel-drives rigged with explosives," the military said in a statement that put the corpse count at eight soldiers and three attackers.
Medical sources said four more bodies were found on Friday, bringing the toll to 12 out of the checkpoint’s 31 soldiers. Twelve soldiers were maimed and one was missing.
ISIS said it had killed 15 soldiers, destroyed two armored vehicles and taken weapons from the checkpoint before blowing it up.
Witnesses said security forces set up extra mobile and static checkpoints in and around Arish city, the capital of North Sinai province, and were searching for the attackers.
Later on Friday, a front man for the US State Department condemned the attack, offering condolences to the families of the victims and sympathy for the injured.
"We express our solidarity with the people of Egypt as they confront violent extremism. The United States strongly supports Egypt’s security, and together we will continue to work together to defeat this threat," front man John Kirby said in a statement.

Militants attacked a vehicle of an oil exploration company and killed two of its security guards in Balochistan's Gwadar district on Saturday.
Mansoor Gichki, a senior administration officer, told DawnNews that armed militants opened fire at the vehicle of a private oil exploration company in Pasni tehsil of Gwadar.
He said two private security men guarding the officials of the company were killed on the spot. The assailants escaped unhurt from the spot
"The private oil exploration company was engaged in conducting survey of the area when the vehicle of the company was attacked by miscreants," he added.
Levies and police personnel reached the incident site as an investigation into the incident went underway.
"The incident seems to be an act of targeted killing," Gichki said.
There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack. Militants in the area have been attacking security forces and pro-government politicians for more than a decade.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Police in Indonesia have tossed in the clink Book 'im, Mahmoud! a suspected turban Lion of Islam and seized a large quantity of bomb making material that he planned to use in attacks on government buildings and the Myanmar embassy in Jakarta next month, a police front man said.
The suspect was identified as Rio Priatna Wibawa, 23, who is believed to be a member of an Indonesian group that supports ISIS.
Local media reported that the amount of explosives seized would have resulted in a blast twice as powerful as the bomb that killed 202 people in a Bali nightclub in 2002.
Wibawa, who studied agricultural science at university and was unemployed, was a self-taught bomb-maker who had planned to distribute explosives to several places across Indonesia, police front man Boy Rafli Amar said on Saturday.
Indonesia has seen a string of ISIS-linked attacks this year, the biggest of which was a gun and bomb assault in the capital Jakarta that killed four people in January.

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The loyalists of the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group plans to deploy at least 200 families in each district by disguising them as refugees, an Afghan politician said Saturday.
Zahir Qadir, Deputy House Speaker, Lower House of the Parliament, Wolesi Jirga, said at least 1000 families belonging to the loyalists of the terror group in each district, warning that the control of the situation would become difficult if they managed to deploy the families in the districts.
He was speaking during a general session of the Lower House of the Parliament, Wolesi Jirga today.
Without elaborating further regarding his claim and the sources from which he got the information, Qadir criticized the government for remaining reckless in this regard.
Qadir further added that his information shows the loyalists of the terror group are planning to purchase land for the families.
This comes as Qadir earlier warned that the loyalists of the terror group are attempting to establish the Khurasan Caliphate in Afghanistan and are busy expanding their presence in some of the difficult terrains of the country.
Speaking during a session of the parliament late last month, Qadir warned that the group will become successful in establishing the caliphate if they managed to seize control of Tora Bora in Nangarhar The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country.. He said the loyalists of the terror group have managed to take control of a strategic area in Pacher Agam district.
According to Qadir, the area is a few hundred meters away from Tora Bora and the loyalists of the terror group will become successful if their attempts if they managed to expand foothold in Tora Bora.
He also claimed that helicopters are air dropping supplies including food and mineral water to the loyalists of the terror group in the areas under their control.
The remarks by Qadir came as the top US commander in Afghanistan earlier said the loyalists of the terrorist group are attempting to establish a caliphate inside Afghanistan.

[Dhaka Tribune] Shahanur Biswas did what any father would when his daughters faced constant sexual harassment ‐ he protested. In retaliation, he was brutally attacked on October 16 by a gang of youths including a local UP member of Kaliganj in Jhenaidah that led to both his legs being amputated.
He is now being treated at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) in Dhaka.
On Wednesday, 14 of the accused surrendered before a court and were sent to jail following a High Court’s order, but Shahanur’s family is receiving threats from the family members of the accused.
His elder daughter Sharmin Akhter used to attend Jessore Women’s College but her studies abruptly ended in 2013 because of the constant sexual harassment by the stalkers.
"They used to block my path while going to class and repeatedly propose marriage. They also threatened to throw acid on my face if I rejected their proposal and now they have attacked and maimed my father because he protested," Sharmin said.
Her younger sister Shahana Akhter, who is a class VII student, stopped going to school after the same gang of stalkers, who are also involved in drugs business and crimes in the area, after the attack on her father Shahanur.
Some days before the attack, Shahanur of Noldanga village informed one Shahin, the son of former UP member Mohsin, and another villager about his daughters’ harassment and asked them to settle the matter. But it only worsened the situation.
Shahanur was attacked on October 16 soon after Shahin discussed the matter with Kasthavanga Union Gay Pareehad member Kamal, also the general secretary of the union unit Jubo League ... the youth wing of the Bangla Awami League... According to Shahanur’s wife Arjina Begum, UP member Mehbubur’s son Azad, UP member Kamal and their supporters -- Jahid, Hasan, Billal, Imdadul and Dukhu -- conducted the attack with crowbar and rods. They first hacked his legs and severed his tendons while Mehbub and Kamal shot at his legs from pistols.
He was first taken to Jessore Sadar Hospital and then to NITOR, where doctors amputated his legs from thighs on October 29.
As the local police refused to register a case, Yakub Ali, Shahanur’s brother-in-law, filed a case with the District Senior Judicial Magistrate’s Court on October 17. Later, Shahanur’s elder brother Samaul Biswas filed a separate case against 16 people, including the seven persons accused in the first case.
UP member Mehbubur’s elder son Kajal and his accomplices have threatened to kill them when the detainees are released. "Nobody is bothering you now, but when the media attention dies down and they are released from jail, we will torch your house and kill you all," Kajal reportedly threatened Shahanur’s elder brother Samaul Biswas.
"Three cases have been filed against me at the local cop shoppe including an extortion case, although I have no connection to any of these incidents," Shahanur said.
Shahanur wants to return home but fears further attacks as the accused are very powerful in the village. "I am not sure when I would be able return since the police seems to be conspiring and raising false charges against me by taking bribes from the accused party."
Dhaka Tribune tried to contact Kaliganj police OC Aminul Islam over his official number, but could not reach him. Sub-Inspector Imran received the call and said the OC was unable to talk due to physical illness.
"There is nothing to fear at all. May be they have been misinformed. All the accused have been nabbed You have the right to remain silent... and sent to jail; they will be punished according to the law," Jhenaidah Superintendent of Police Md Mizanur Rahman told the Dhaka Tribune, dismissing the allegations against the police.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iraq’s parliament on Saturday voted to accord full legal status to government-sanctioned Shiite Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) as a "back-up and reserve" force for the military and police and empower them to "deter" security and terror threats facing the country, like ISIS. This is the Iraqi equivalent of Hezbollah.
The legislation, supported by 208 of the chamber’s 327 members, was promptly rejected by Sunni Arab politicians and politicians who said it was evidence of what they called the "dictatorship" of the country’s Shiite majority.
"The majority does not have the right to determine the fate of everyone else," Osama al-Nujaifi, one of Iraq’s three vice presidents and a senior Sunni politician, told a news conference after the vote. "There should be genuine political inclusion. This law must be revised."
Sunni politician Ahmed al-Masary said the legislation fuels doubts about the participation of all Iraqi communities in the political process. "The legislation aborts nation building," he said, adding that the law created a dangerous parallel to the country's military and police.
The law, tabled by the chamber’s largest Shiite bloc, placed the militias under the command of Shiite Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and gave Lions of Islam salaries and pensions that mirror those of the military and the police.
In a statement, al-Abadi welcomed the legislation and said the "Popular Mobilization" forces, the formal name of the militias, would cover all Iraqi sects, a thinly veiled reference to the much smaller and weaker Sunni tribal forces. The Shiite militias number more than 100,000.
"The Popular Mobilization will represent and defend all Iraqis wherever they are," al-Abadi said.
The vote comes at a time when the government is waging a major campaign to dislodge ISIS from djinn-infested Mosul ... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn... , Iraq’s second largest city and the last major urban center still controlled by the myrmidon group.
The Shiite militias, most of which are backed by neighboring Iran, have been bankrolled and equipped by the government since shortly after ISIS swept across much of northern and western Iraq in 2014. Many of these groups existed long before ISIS emerged, fighting American troops in major street battles during the US military presence in Iraq between 2003 and 2011.
They have played a key role in checking the advance of ISIS on Baghdad and the Shiite Shrine cities of Samarra and Karbala in the summer of 2014 and later helped liberate IS-held areas to the south, northeast and north of Baghdad, standing in for the security forces which largely collapsed in the face of the ISIS blitz in 2014. However, today is that tomorrow you were thinking about yesterday... their role has somewhat diminished as more and more of Iraq’s security forces have regained their strength.
Iraq’s Sunni Arabs and rights groups have long complained that the Lions of Islam have been involved in extrajudicial killings, abuse and the theft or destruction of property in areas where they drove out ISIS. The militias’ commanders, however, deny the charges or insist that the excesses are the work of an isolated few.
Currently, the militias are tasked with driving ISIS from the town of Tal Afar west of Mosul. They seized the town’s airstrip earlier this week. al-Abadi met militia commanders at the strip on Thursday.
Meanwhile in Mosul, Iraqi military and hospital officials said mortar rounds fired by ISIS snuffies overnight and early on Saturday have killed 16 civilians in neighborhoods already retaken by troops.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.
An News Agency that Dare Not be Named team in eastern Mosul on Saturday said scores of civilians were continuing to stream out of the city’s inner neighborhoods to escape the fighting, making their way to camps for the displaced.

I fired him as my spice supplier over a year ago, when he started sending global warming screeds to his entire mailing list. When I cook it's a no politics zone.
[JSOnline] Penzeys, a Wauwatosa-based company famous for its spices, is in the middle of a political firestorm after its owner slammed President-elect Donald Trump and the voters who supported him.
"The open embrace of racism by the Republican Party in this election is now unleashing a wave of ugliness unseen in this country for decades," Bill Penzey Jr. wrote in a Tuesday night email to the company's mailing list. "The American people are taking notice."
Penzey followed up with a Facebook post titled "Cooking trumps Racism."
On Facebook, he praised Republicans who refused to back Trump but slammed those who voted for him.
"You just voted for an openly racist candidate for the presidency of the United States of America," Penzey wrote.
And he urged Trump voters to make amends by donating to civil liberties or anti-hate groups.
"You really are a good bunch, but you just committed the biggest act of racism in American history since Wallace stood in the schoolhouse doorway 53 years ago," he wrote. "Make this right. Take ownership for what you have done and begin the pathway forward."
His comments have caused a social media firestorm, with his Facebook posts drawing thousands of comments and shares.
In a follow-up email, Penzey told subscribers Tuesday's statement "made history for us as the most shared and most commented on email we ever sent."
No doubt.
"If you have not already read it, please do," he wrote Wednesday.
No thanks. I already know what unjustifiedly self-righteous rants look like -- no need to see your particularly uninteresting particulars.
Some applauded Penzey's stance, while others said they would never shop at Penzeys again and called for a boycott.
Meanwhile, the owner of The Spice House sought to distance the store from its competitor.
The Spice House is the original family store, which young Bill copied when he went off on his own. It is now run by his sister and her husband.
"We are fielding many calls today from folks angry with another spice company. While I am related by family to that company's owner, our companies are not related in any way," read a post on the company's Facebook page. "My husband and I are very careful to never bring politics or personal opinions into our spice company, they have no business there. We value all of our customers so very much. Heck, I would not even want to get into a subjective debate over which cinnamon is the best!"
That's what they told me when I called to place my first order, explaining why I'd made the switch. I can highly recommend their products and their prices.
This isn't the first time Penzey has taken a strong political stance.
In 2013, Penzey weighed in on Indian mascots. Amid a debate over the issue, Penzeys mailed packages of "kind" spices and a letter to people in Mukwonago, home of the Mukwonago Indians.
"I know for you this issue really is about tradition and honoring those who came before," Penzey wrote in the letter. "But sometimes with greater understanding comes the knowledge that the path kindness best follows is a brand-new road."
He's also said in a past newsletter that Waukesha County is full of people who fled west to escape Milwaukee's diversity.

Does anyone know how Trump is so 'openly racist?
Nope. If you asked the people who say that, they'd be unable to give examples, and would just end up in circular references to each other.

Does anyone know how Trump is so 'openly racist?
I got into it on Facebook with an 18 year old kid, who said - 'He wants to build a wall'. Same kid also said 'the media is always right'. Naturally I disputed both of these points, so I was patient and respectful and explained a lot of stuff to him. My final advice was for him to read from a lot of sources, and to always 'trust but verify', as the old Russian proverb goes. Whether it helps him to understand better remains to be seen, although I have my doubts.

Now, this is something that Grom Jr found and showed to me (as a counter argument when I indicated my displeasure with him playing Warhammer all the time).
It's the best treatment of people like Penzey I know of.
Nineveh – (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi army forces on Saturday captured the village of Geliokhan advancing towards the eastern shore of Tigris River, which cuts through the city of Mosul, as part of operations to recapture the city from Islamic State militants, army media said.
Troops from the army’s 9th division moved towards the east of Tigris River and liberated the village of “Geliokhan”, Lt. Gen Abdul Amir Yarallah, commander of operation “We Are Coming Nineveh,” stated.
Iraqi army forces, backed by popular militias and US-led air forces, continue a major campaign that launched in mid October to liberate Mosul, ISIS’s last bastion in Iraq.
Popular militias said recently that victories over the extremist group practically isolated the province of Nineveh from the rest of Iraq as well as from escape routes to Syria.
ISIS has reportedly been losing ground, lives and equipment since the start of operations, with many of its prominent cadres reported as either dead or fugitive.
Baghdad – (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi army said Saturday that joint police and army operations have managed to retake 50 percent of Nineveh regions since launching in mid October, whereas police forces said they killed 50 Islamic State militants south of the city of Mosul.
“Our forces have become in control of 50 percent of Nineveh since the launch of military operations,” said Brig. Gen. Yahia Rasoul, a spokesperson for the Iraqi Joint Operations Command.
Earlier on Saturday, army forces said they had advanced towards the eastern shores of Tigris River, which cuts through Mosul, and liberated the village of Geliokhan.
Nineveh’s Mosul is the last outstanding ISIS stronghold in Iraq, and the group has been sustaining losses in lives, ground and equipment fighting off the successfully-advancing Iraqi government and popular troops over the past month.
Recent military victories over ISIS in Nineveh reportedly isolated the province from Iraq and the group’s strongholds in Syria.
Nineveh – (IraqiNews.com) Federal Police Chief, Raed Shakir Jawdat announced on Saturday recapturing the road linking between the city of Mosul and Tel Afar district.
Jawdat said in a press statement, “Troops of the Federal Police managed, at noon today, to recapture the road linking between the city of Mosul and the district of Tel Afar.”
“Security forces also managed to liberate Umm al-Masa’id village within the southwestern axis of the battle to retake Nineveh from the Islamic State’s grip,” Jawdat added.
Joint security forces, backed by Army Aviation and international coalition are progressing in the operations to liberate the city of Mosul from the ISIS control.
Nineveh – (IraqiNews.com) Al-Hashd al-Shaabi forces managed to liberate two villages in Tel Afar district, west of the province, and raised the Iraqi flag over the buildings, after killing dozens of the Islamic State’s members, Alsumaria News reported on Saturday.
“This morning, al-Hahsd al-Shaabi forces managed to liberate the villages of al-Ajbouri and al-Fatsa, in Tel Afar district (62 km west of Mosul), and raised the Iraqi flag over their buildings,” the media outlet stated.
“Security forces also were able to kill large group of the Islamic State’s militants, after clashing with them inside the villages,” it added.
Forces from al-Hashd al-Shaabi are deployed in the western axis of the province of Nineveh, and announced on 16 November 2016, that the forces managed to liberate Tel Afar Airport.
Nineveh – (IraqiNews.com) Media officials with the Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday, that security forces liberated three areas in Mosul completely, and killed four members of the Islamic State extremist group, including a senior leader, by an air strike in the southeastern axis of the city.
The officials said in a press statement, “Today, heroes of the Anti-Terrorism Directorate liberated the areas of Hayy al-Amn, Shafaq al-Khadraa and Shafaq al-Karama completely, and raised the Iraqi flag on their buildings, as well as recapturing Mosul Radio building.”
“International coalition air force conducted an air strike, resulting in the destruction of a vehicle and killing of four terrorists, including a senior leader the so-called Abu Anas al-Shishani, in al-Shomaysat village, in addition to destroying 3 mortar detachments in Jelikhan village,” the statement added.
“Troops of the army’s 9th Armored Brigade killed six terrorists, and destroyed two motorcycles in the southeastern axis,” the statement explained.
[ARA News] Duhok – More than 50 ISIS jihadists were killed and 32 others were taken captive by the Iraqi forces in the battle for Mosul in Iraq’s northwestern Nineveh Governorate, military sources reported on Saturday.
Backed by the US-led coalition’s air forces, the Iraqi Army attacked major ISIS headquarters in southern Mosul.
“The Daesh terrorist group has suffered heavy losses in manpower and equipment under heavy bombardment by our forces over the past two days,” The Iraqi General Command said in a statement, using an Arabic acronym for the Islamic State group (ISIS). “Over 50 terrorists were killed and 32 others were taken captive in southern Mosul.”
Also, the Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Units reported new gains west of the city.
“Our units liberated three new neighbourhoods in western Mosul, including al-Masaref, Qahira and al-Amin,” an Iraqi officer told ARA News over the phone.
On the other hand, the Islamic State issued a statement, published by the jihadi Amaq News Agency, saying that at least 15 Iraqi forces were killed in what the group described as “a martyrdom operation” [a suicide attack] in eastern Mosul earlier on Friday.
The Iraqi Army and Kurdish Peshmerga launched a joint operation on October 17, to capture the city and its surroundings from ISIS.
Bolstered by the coalition’s air support, Iraqi security forces recently took control of dozens of towns and villages in Mosul’s countryside. They also captured several neighborhoods in the city itself.
[AlManar] Iraqi Popular Mobilization forces (PMF) continue to advance in Tal Afar, with the volunteer fighters on Saturday liberated five towns in the strategic district form the Takfiri terrorists of ISIL.
Earlier on Friday, the PMF, who is also known as al-Hashd al-Shaabi, announced the start of the fifth stage of the operation to liberate western Mosul.
On Saturday, the PMF fighters tightened grip on ISIL terrorists as they liberated Tal Samir, Northern Tal Samir, Tal Abtan, Om Nakhila and Om al-Hujairat, Iraqi sources said.
The volunteer forces met no resistance during its advance and managed to control Om al-Hujairat in a short time after the Takfiri insurgents fled the area.

I co-founded the company that makes the weapon platform on this system. Sold it some years ago. Great piece of gear. Very light weight yet still accommodates heavier weapons like a .50 cal.
[DAWN] At least four Death Eaters were killed in retaliatory fire by security forces when they launched a "suicide kaboom" on a camp of the Mohmand Rifles Headquarters in Mohmand Agency ... Named for the Mohmand clan of the Sarban Pahstuns, a truculent, quarrelsome lot. In Pakistain, the Mohmands infest their eponymous Agency, metastasizing as far as the plains of Peshawar, Charsadda, and Mardan. Mohmands are also scattered throughout Pakistan in urban areas including Karachi, Lahore, and Quetta. In Afghanistan they are mainly found in Nangarhar and Kunar... on Saturday.
Two soldiers of the Frontier Corps ...a provincial paramilitary force. Total manpower is about 80,000. They are tasked to help local law enforcement in the maintenance of law and order, and to carry out border patrol and a..the Antwerp-based Salafist organization that had campaigned to introduce Sharia law to Belgium before single-handedly making Belgium the highest per capita supplier of jihadis to Syria in Europe. There was a big trial in Antwerp in 2015, but most of those convicted were in absentia...nti-smuggling operations.... (FC) were killed in the attack in Ghalanai, DG Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Asim Bajwa said on Twitter.
He said security forces had "defeated" the attack, killing all four jacket wallahs. At least 14 FC men were maimed in the attack.
The Jamaat-ul-Ahrar bad boy group grabbed credit for the attack.
Four suicide bombers attempted to enter the camp at 6:20am and attack a mosque in a residential area where a large number of soldiers were attending morning prayers.
"Wearing suicide jackets, the attackers opened fire and tried to rush inside the mosque," the ISPR said in a statement.
"Security forces surrounded the attackers. Two of the attackers blew themselves up while two others were rubbed out," it added.
The attackers were contained in the outer courtyard of the mosque.
A curfew was imposed in Mohmand Agency following the incursion as gunship helicopters searched the area.
Mohmand is one of Pakistain’s seven tribal agencies near the Afghan border where the military has been battling al-Qaeda and Taliban-linked Death Eaters for over a decade.

[Dhaka Tribune] Khadiza Akhter Nargis, the victim of a brutal attack by a Bangla Chhatra League ... the student wing of the Bangla Awami League ... leader, finally spoke to the media yesterday after 54 days of intensive care at the hands of physicians. At one point the poor girl was expected to die. Of course it's still possible she will if her attacker's thugs can get to her. ('Yer honor, youse can't put me on trial! Da witnesses are all dead!')
Badrul Alam, the leader of BCL SUST unit, severely injured Khadiza in an attack on October 3. She was taken to Square Hospital on October 6, where she has been receiving medical attention ever since.
In front of a number of national media agencies, in a press briefing at the hospital reception, she said: "Please, pray for me, so that I can get well soon."
She was then taken back to her cabin.
In the press briefing, the Director (Medical services) of the hospital, Mirza Nazim Uddin said that they had officially discharged the girl and she would be released once formalities had been completed.
Mirza further cited Khadiza’s case as evidence that medical facilities in the country were improvng. He said: "They had ensured her proper treatment here. All she needs is to go under advanced rehabilitation treatment so that she can get back to her normal life."
Khadiza had to undergo at least four major operations ‐ Decompression Surgery, multiple flexor tendon repair of her right hand, Cranioplasty, and repair of tendons of her left hand.
According to the director, while she has regained full consciousness and her muscles are functioning, she requires rehabilitation to regain motor function. Even if Khadiza is fit to be discharged, the doctors are going to keep her at the hospital until the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) ensures a bed for her, he added.

[EXPRESS.CO.UK] Fuming Boiko Borisov vowed all migrants colonists involved in the violent disturbance will be "brought to justice" with many being deported back to their home countries.
Riot police had to storm the camp yesterday using water cannon and rubber bullets to restore order at the camp on the border with The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... , with 24 officers being injured in the operation.
Shocking photographs of the burning rubble of the camp showed gangs of young men milling around in hoodies. Most are from Afghanistan, according to officials.
Witnesses said the scene "looked like a war zone" after rampaging refugees smashed windows, overturned trash containers and set fires.
Those who are not sent back to the Middle East will be dispersed to migrant camps across the country in a bid to prevent them from organising another violent uprising.
Mr Borisov raged: "I am very worried. You see there is no window left unbroken. The people who committed these acts of vandalism will be brought to justice.
"Based on an agreement between the European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... and Afghanistan we have asked for a plane to start extraditing people there in early December. As for the rest, all who have acted brutally and violated public order will be moved to closed camps."
More than 400 asylum seekers had been confined in a part of the camp after rumours rippled through a nearby town that many of them had a serious and highly contagious skin condition. It is home to around 3,000 migrants colonists overall, making it the largest in Bulgaria.
Officials put the site on lockdown whilst detailed medical examinations were carried out, although doctors later said the level of sickness in the camp had been exaggerated.
Howerver, residents in nearby Harmanli have upped their calls for the camp to be permanently closed, claiming that migrants colonists regularly venture into the town and steal from them.
Local Rusi Stoev said: "This camp should be closed. You should see what it's like here at weekends. They go around in big groups and take fruit and vegetables at the market without paying."
Almost all of the migrants colonists in the camp want to travel onwards to rich western European countries like Germany and Scandinavia, where they hope to start new lives.
Representatives for the asylum seekers have been demanding that they be allowed free passage into neighbouring Serbia, which is the next step on the Balkans route to the promised lands. However, those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things... the country's interior ministry has refused that request and has instead beefed up security by deploying more border guards.
Bulgaria has been one of the main transit points for the more than a million migrants colonists who have entered Europe from the Middle East and North Africa in the last year.
The country has built a fence along its land border with Turkey and has beefed up border controls to deter asylum seekers from attempting the crossing.
Officials say some 17,000 people were detained in the first 10 months of the year, down by more than a third from the same period in 2015.
Despite the decreasing numbers, Bulgarian nationalists have staged protests in recent months calling for the immediate closure of all refugee centres and for migrants colonists to be returned to Turkey or to their country of origin

Get together with some of your EU buddies and build a great big camp in southern Libya and send them all there.
Make sure it has a big fence to protect "them" from the outside world. Let them determine their own government and rules, maybe add a few Paleos since they want their own state. Lock the gate and let them go ahead and develop their "civilization", good?
Tightened national finances due to fallen oil prices are a fraught issue going into elections in Kuwait. Now one less prince will be expecting support from the public purse, though likely that has nothing to do with this particular lurid tale.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] As Kuwaitis woke up to elect their new parliament on Friday, they also received news of the brutal murder of three individuals, including a royal.
Two Kuwaiti citizens, Sheikh Sabah Mubarak al-Nasser al-Sabah and Saleh al-Othman, and an Indonesian woman were found inside an apartment in Salwa area with their hands and feet tied and their mouths covered.
They were killed execution style and there were other bullet wounds on their bodies, according to local media.
Several suspects have been detained for questioning including a Kuwaiti citizen, a Bedoun and an Iranian, according to security sources.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iran’s judiciary is saying authorities have detained three employees of the state railroad company over Friday’s train collision, which killed 45 people.
The Saturday report by Mizanonline.ir, the judiciary news website, says authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
The accident took place about 250 kilometers (150 miles) east of the capital Tehran, when a moving passenger train slammed into a second train that was parked at a station. Several of the train cars caught fire, and the official IRNA news agency said Saturday that some of the victims were so badly burned that the bodies had to be identified through DNA testing.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Coalition forces say they have destroyed a ballistic missile launched by Yemeni militias targeting the city of Khamis Mushait.
The attack comes a day after at least 11 missiles were launched into the southern border village of al-Tuwal in Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... , Al Arabiya News Channel’s correspondent reported.
Coalition forces were still pounding Yemeni militia targets across the border near the cities of Jazan and southern Dhahran.

Expect discovery of boxes and boxes of disenfranchised inner city votes.
[BLOOMBERG] Trump focused on Stein, not Clinton, in a response. "The people have spoken and the election is over, and as Hillary Clinton ... former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, sometimes described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as a crook... herself said on election night, in addition to her conceding by congratulating me, ’We must accept this result and then look to the future,"’ he said in a statement.
Kellyanne Conway, who was Trump’s campaign manager and is now a senior adviser, was less conciliatory. "What a pack of sore losers," she said in a statement. "After asking Mr. Trump and his team a million times on the trail, ’Will HE accept the election results?’ it turns out Team Hillary and their new BFF Jill Stein can’t accept reality." So y'see, it ain't the Dems sore loserin', it's just an interested third party who thinks she mighta been the one to take the swing states..
"Rather than adhere to the tradition of graciously conceding and wishing the winner well, they’ve opted to waste millions of dollars and dismiss the democratic process. The people have spoken. Time to listen up. #YesYourPresident," Conway said.
[EXPRESS.CO.UK] The shock move to reassess results in Wisconsin follows the filing of a petition to the state’s elections organiser by two groups, one of which backed US Green Party Presidential candidate Jill Stein. Wisconsin Elections Commission Administrator Michael Haas said: "The Commission is preparing to move forward with a statewide recount of votes for President of the United States, as requested by these candidates."
[DailyWire] Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein is raising money to call for a recount in three states: Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. She said that it was necessary due to "reported hacks into voter and party databases and individual email accounts are causing many Americans to wonder if our election results are reliable." A Wisconsin recount request was filed on Friday.
However, it appears that Stein's efforts to obtain a recount are nothing more than a scam. Here are seven reasons why.
1. There is no evidence that the election results weren't reliable. As the Daily Wire has explained, there is nothing to suggest that the electronic voting machines were hacked. Donald Trump's advantage over Hillary Clinton in electronic voting was a result of demographics, not a hack, and Michigan's ballots were all paper. The entire premise for Stein's recount is false. Continued at link.

As easy as it is to dismiss this crap a farce, it is a serious attack on our Constitutional form of government. Gives more uninformed people an excuse to get out to their $15.00/hr job of protesting.
If these fires cannot be efficiently put out, it will result in a serious inability of Mr. Trump to govern appropriately.

I was talking to a friend and she mentioned that "her" side would have an opportunity to rise up and overturn this.
I said, "Just remember which side has the guns and the vets and the training."
She snobbishly replied, "We have angry women. Don't underestimate what an angry woman can do."
"Well, if you can continue to move and be angry after I put 3 rounds through your chest you are a better person than I."
She stopped and looked aghast. "That is SO mean!"
"Don't you understand? That is what a Civil War is. If it comes between protecting the constitutional process while protecting my rights and taking friends and family's lives, I'll defend the constitution to the end.
If you aren't willing to look down a rifle sight at people you care about and pull the trigger, you have no fucking business talking about a civil war."
After talking to several lefties just like her, they seem to be convinced if they just have a march, chant slogans and cry then people will just roll over and let them do it. And people have, for decades. I don't think they realize that we are backed into a corner and will do anything to protect what few rights we have left.
That naivete may very well be the thing that stumbles us into civil war.

Trump should have a wolfpack of attorneys ready to go. I would think that PA, especially, would be pretty damn hard to reverse, given Trump's 70,000 vote edge there. But when the Dem's are prepared to lie, and their MFM shills are willing to swear to it, who knows? My personal opinion is that this is probably just more lefty psyops and fundraising than a realistic attempt to change the results. And if you needed any more evidence that HRC is mentally unbalanced and unfit for office, here it is.

The Electoral College meets to vote on 19 December 2016. If the votes from MI, WI and PA are still under recount, Trump will have less than the requisite 270 to be declared the winner and the election will move, as ordained by the Constitution to the House for President and Senate for Vice President. Trump/Pense will win but the Dems will get a chance to claim a totally political act by the Republicans, usurping the will of the people and hamdstringing the administration from the start. It is a vile, deceitful, political sabotage act by people who only know the quest for power and would destroy the nation to achieve it!

@#14: The Clintons have everything to lose and are therefore only happy to see Dr. Rocks press this "case."
I surmise that Mr. Trump is not amused and, once the foolishness passes, will begin to dismantle the Arkansas Mafia one lie at a time.
In the meantime, my questions are:
1. How have the voting machines/records been archived since the election was called?
2. Who, if anyone, has had access to said machines/records since election day? Are all visits verifiable?
3. Is Sandy Burger still hanging around?

Nineveh – (IraqiNews.com) Islamic State militants executed 15 people, mostly youths, in Mosul late Friday over accusations of collusion with security forces and mutiny against the extremist group, a military officer has said.
The group took 15 people, mostly youths in their twenties, out from their residences late Friday before executing them by a fire squad inside a public park in Mohandessin district, Captain Hamad al-Ebeidi told National Iraqi News Agency (NINA).
He said that the militants also blew up five homes previously used as detention facilities, as well as four booby-trapped vehicles in northern and eastern Mosul.
Iraqi government and popular forces have ran into several mass graves since operations launched in October to retake Mosul from ISIS. The group had been notorious for carrying out heinous executions of opponents and noncomplying individuals in Iraq and Syria, posting videos of the killings throughout its media platforms.

Nineveh – (IraqiNews.com) ISIS Wali of Tel Afar, along with four of his aides, fled toward the Syrian territories after looting millions of US dollars, Alsumaria News reported on Saturday.
Alsumaria News stated, “The so-called ISIS Wali of Tel Afar Abu Islam al-Uzbaki, along with four of his aides including Diwan Bayt al-Mal official (Treasury’s official), fled to al-Ba’j district and then to the Iraqi-Syrian borders,” pointing out that, “The Wali and his aides also stole large quantities of money, which they collect through smuggling crude oil and bullying for two years.”
“The official of Diwan al-Mal in Tal Afar is one of the most important ISIS funding officials in Tel Afar and the so-called Wilayat Dijla,” the media outlet added. “The fleeing phenomenon of the leaders of the Islamic State, after stealing money, started to increase with the approaching liberation of Nineveh and Tel Afar,” Alsumaria explained.
Intelligence information also indicated that these members started to move toward Arab and foreign countries, in order to disappear due to the lack of information about them.
Kirkuk – (IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk Police Chief, Colonel Sarhad Qadir, announced on Saturday, that 112 families fleeing from ISIS-held Hawija district southwest of the province, arrived in the safe areas in Kirkuk.
Qadir said in a press statement, “Today, 112 families, mostly women and children, arrived in the areas southwest of Kirkuk, after fleeing from the ISIS-held Hawija district (55 km southwest of Kirkuk),” adding that, “Kurdish Peshmerga forces received and provided them with water, food and medicines.”
“The province of Kirkuk is receiving large numbers of people fleeing from the ISIS-held areas on daily basis, and checking their names and date to prevent the entry of ISIS members,” Qadir added.
Noteworthy, the district of Hawija and other areas southwest of Kirkuk are still under the control of the Islamic State.

The Tebu-held Kilinja gate astride the main road into Kufra has been bombed for the second time in a month.
Like its predecessor, this morning’s attack on the position 350 kilometres south-west of Rebyana caused no casualties. However it has highlighted concerns that the Marj-based army is moving more firmly against the Tebu who were once seen as its allies.
Tebu sources say they have obtained a leaked document from Marj which sets out the new policy. Dated 22 September this year, it apparently gives full authority to the army’s Kufra Operations Room to cleanse both Rebyana and Um Aranib in the south-west from what it had described as “criminals” and “rogues”.
Today’s attack was said to have been carried out by an AT-802 – also known as an Air Tractor because it is based on a US crop-spraying aircraft. It is not known that the Libyan airforce operate this aircraft type. However the UAE does and is supposed to be flying six of them from Al-Khadim air base to the south-east of Marj and Jardas Al-Abid.
The AT-802 has a range of some 1200 km which would mean that if it was an aircraft from Al-Khadim it would need to have been operating from a forward airfield, probably Kufra.
The Kilinja gate has been under Tebu control since 2011. It is regarded as a major transit point for human traffickers and drugs smugglers, including migrants and contraband coming from the Siwa and Farafra oases in Egypt. The gate controls the main pass into the Tibesti mountains and Chad. The area remains heavily mined from Qaddafi’s conflict with Chad between 1978 and 1989.

I can find no "Kalinja gate" in the numerous maps I have of Libya. That a site somewhere south of Rabiana would be a transit point for arms from Siwa or Farafra oases in Egypt doesn't compute. Rebiana itself is a few kilometers due west of Kufra, and Um Aranib is located just east of Sebha. Thus, a check of the map indicates that someone has decided to eliminate once and for all the always unreliable ethnic Tubu from Saharan Libya.
And - why they are "unreliable":
Under Qaddafi, Arab tribes such as the Zawiyah were favored and used to control the minority groups in the South – an action that likely fostered Toubou resentment toward the Southern Arab tribes.
[T]he Tuareg and Toubou broke their long-lasting Midi Midi truce and have clashed in Ubari for strategic control of smuggling routes and the nearby El-Sharara oilfield. However, the Toubou are not exclusively at odds with the Tuareg. Economic control over vital trade routes, often doubling as smuggling routes, has caused clashes between the Toubou tribes and the Zawiyah tribe (Arab) in Kufra, as well as between the Toubou and the Awlad Sulayman tribe (Arab) in Sabha.
The awarding of Southern border control to the Toubou after the revolution likely escalated the clashes between Toubou and Arab tribes, as the revolution removed some advantages and existing power arrangements previously awarded to Arab tribes – creating a change in the Southern power dynamics. This also explains the wider range of Toubou-Arab animosities compared to Tuareg-Arab animosities.

Thank you Pappy. I would only add that the Toubou (Tubu, Tebu, etc.,) served as bodyguards for King Idris at the time he was overthrown by Qaddafi in 1969. Some then served for a time as guards for Qadaffi. However, most of the Toubou -- heterodox Sufi who had been allied to Idris and the Sanoussi Brotherhood, returned to the isolated Borkou-Ennedi-Tibesti of Chad. There, they were the often questionable allies of Chad's dictator Hissene Habre. In general, given their usual treachery the tough Toubou were detested by the equally tough Zaghawa of Chad and Darfur, and by the tribes of southern Libya and northern Niger.

[Libya Observer] Five Misrata-led fighters were killed and more than 30 others injured on Saturday in three separate ISIS attacks in Jiza apartment blocks in Sirte, the last ISIS-held area in the city.
Following two days of intense Arclight airstrikes and artillery shelling, Misrata-led forces launched a fresh attack on ISIS remnants in Jiza who are trapped inside 54 houses, according to military sources.
As the infantry move between the houses, a trapped ISIS bomber went kaboom! his boom belt while other ISIS diehards launched suicide grenade attacks.
"Misrata-led forces have taken control of 30 houses today," the military sources said.
While combing the liberated houses, an ISIS woman asked for a safe corridor, but as she was leaving, she tricked the fighters and opened fire on them before being killed.
Last week, Misrata-led forces recovered 30 ISIS bodies from the festivities zone in Jiza.

[Al Ahram] The EU-The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... deal that has substantially reduced the flow of migrants colonists to Europe "must be respected and will be", said European Commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker in an interview published Saturday.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan ... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him... threatened Friday to walk away from the agreement, speaking a day after the European Parliament angered Ankara by backing a freeze of its EU accession talks.
"We made an agreement, it must be respected and it will be," Juncker told Belgium's La Libre Belgique newspaper.
He pointed to the period from 2003-2014 while Erdogan was prime minister, when Turkey "made a lot of progress in terms of the quality of its democracy". But in the past two years, the country has "distanced itself from European principles and values," Juncker said.
"I believe that Erdogan and his government are in the process of 'pre-blaming' Europe for the failure of its accession negotiations," he added.
He noted that the current impasse between the two sides stems in particular from the fact that Turkey has refused to launch a reform of its anti-terror legislation, a condition for membership laid down by the EU.
"Instead of putting this failure on the European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... and Commission, Mr Erdogan would do well to start by asking himself if he responsible for Turks not being able to freely move on European territory," Juncker said.
On March 18, Ankara and Brussels forged a deal for Turkey to halt the flow of migrants colonists to Europe -- an accord that has largely been successful in reducing numbers crossing the Aegean Sea between Turkey and Greece.
According to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), just over 171,000 have crossed to Greece so far this year, much lower than the comparable figure for 2015 of almost 740,000.
Hundreds of migrants colonists drowned while trying to cross the Aegean in 2015 on unseaworthy boats, including three-year-old Syrian Aylan Kurdi. The images of his lifeless body washed up on a Turkish beach spurred the international community into action.
Juncker pointed out that the leaders of the 28 EU nations have the final say on Turkey's bid to join the bloc and not the European Parliament.
Still, he said Thursday's vote was a "warning sign that Turkey should not underestimate".
