Judge Jeanine to Establishment GOP: ‘You're in Power, Damn It! Do Something, Pass Something, Cut This Kumbaya Crap'
Moved to Page 6

[Breitbart] Fox News Channel’s Jeanine Pirro went after the GOP establishment Saturday on "Justice."

Pirro accused the establishment Republicans leaders of watching the Democrats "railroad their president, and then urged them to prove their loyalty by convincing everyone that they are not in on the "effort to take down" President Donald Trump.

"The Republican establishment not fighting for the commander-in-chief as day after day they watch him being savaged, forcing him to defend himself and run the country. Think about it. If he’s knocked out, the succession is clear and things go back to the way they were," Pirro said.

"You’re in power, damn it!" she later exclaimed. "Do something, pass something, cut this kumbaya crap, put on your big boy pants and act like you’re in power, act like you give a damn! And more importantly, convince us that you are not in on the effort to take down the president of the United States."

#6  What amazes me is not one comment anywhere, not one report anywhere about the circumstances around one of the victims shot at the "Republican" baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia:

The victim was a lobbyist....
The lobbyist was from a major special interest, Tyson Foods...
The special interest lobbyist was ... coaching the Republicans.

Back in the day this would have been seized upon immediately as proof that the Polecats in DC are controlled by the lobby, not the people they were elected by. That their relations are Tight. And it took one of them getting caught up in the shooting to find this out. And that in the new day, no one notices??????? The media is quite????? Why? They too have been bought and owned and coached by major special interest.

Army's transgender policy includes guidelines on male pregnancies
[FOX] The Army has begun mandatory transgender sensitivity training for soldiers. The training covers everything from "transfemale" soldiers to transgender shower etiquette to dealing with a male soldier who becomes pregnant.

Yes, good readers. Within the ranks of the greatest fighting force known to mankind ‐ the baby’s daddy could also be the baby’s momma. Click here to see the photo.

"That pregnancy scenario is beyond words," Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty executive director Ron Crews told me. "This is an example of how this social policy can be used simply to promote personal agendas at the expense of taxpayers with no regard for being what the military is all about."

The matter of male soldiers with child is tucked away inside the Army’s "Policy on the Military Service of Transgender Soldiers Training Module, Tier 2: Commanders and Leaders."

One of my readers serving in the Armed Forces was kind enough to send me a copy of the training briefing ‐ mandated during the Obama Administration.

"The training module specifically outlines key roles and responsibilities of commanders, transgender soldiers, military medical providers and administrative management organizations," Lt. Col. Jennifer Johnson told USA Today. "This training is mandatory for all uniformed members, as well as Department of the Army civilians."

The briefing materials cover all sorts of scenarios ‐ from shower stall etiquette to "transfemale" soldiers deployed to anti-LGBT countries.

Afghanistan
Dozens killed or wounded in attack on Afghanistan police headquarters
[Reuters] Dozens of people were killed or wounded when as many as five suicide bombers attacked a police headquarters in eastern Afghanistan on Sunday, officials said.

The attack, claimed by the Taliban, began around 6:30 a.m. (0200 GMT) when one bomber detonated a car packed with explosives at the gate of the police headquarters in Gardez city, capital of Paktia province, said Najib Danish, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry.

Four more attackers stormed the gate after the blast, with at least two quickly killed by police. The others held out against Afghan special forces that had responded to the attack, he said.

Danish put the toll at two police killed and five wounded.

However, doctors at the city hospital said they had received the bodies of at least five police, as well as at least 30 wounded people, including 20 civilians.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, with spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid reporting more than 100 police were killed and wounded. The Islamist group often exaggerates casualty numbers in attacks against government targets and security forces.

Insurgent groups like the Taliban and Islamic State have launched a string of attacks across Afghanistan in recent weeks.

Seven Percent Of Americans Think Chocolate Milk … Comes From Brown Cows
[Hot Air] The Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy conducted a survey of more than 1,000 adults 18 and over in April of this year. They uncovered some shocking facts about how people think about ‐ and drink ‐ milk.

First off, 48% of respondents said that they aren’t sure where chocolate milk comes from. Um, guys, it comes from cows ‐ and not just the brown kind.

Still, 7% of people ‐ and remember, this survey talked to actual, grown-up adults ‐ still think that chocolate milk only comes from brown cows. Actually, chocolate milk gets its flavor and color from cocoa beans.

Steve Scalise Can't Defend Himself But MSNBC Is Back To Attacking Him Anyway
[Daily Caller] Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise is still hospitalized and in serious condition but liberal MSNBC host Joy Ann Reid didn’t let that stop her from portraying Scalise as an extremist just three days after an angry left-winger shot Scalise and tried to assassinate dozens of Republican congressmen in Alexandria, Virginia on Wednesday.

Reid had NAACP board member Rev. William J. Barber II -- a prominent liberal who spoke at at the Democratic National Convention last July -- on her show Saturday morning and the two quickly set about attacking Scalise, who is physically unable to defend his record.

"There’s a whole country out there and a lot of people, at least in my Twitter timeline, and it’s a delicate thing, because everybody is wishing the congressman well and hoping that he recovers, but Steve Scalise has a history that we’ve all been forced to sort of ignore on race," Reid claimed.

"He did come to leadership after some controversy over attending a white nationalist event, which he says he didn’t know what it was," Reid said.

The liberal host appeared to be referencing the fact that Scalise allegedly spoke to a white nationalist group as part a series of talks he gave about tax legislation in 2002. "I didn’t know who all of these groups were and I detest any kind of hate group," Scalise said three years ago, adding at the time that "as a Catholic, I think some of the things they profess target people like me." Democratic Rep. Cedric Richmond, who is black, dismissed the accusations of racism and said: "I don’t think Steve Scalise has a racist bone in his body." Reid did not note that Scalise has repeatedly condemned the group.

"He also co-sponsored a bill to amend the Constitution to define marriage as between a man and a woman. He co-sponsored the House healthcare bill, which as you said would gut healthcare for millions of people including three million children and he cosponsored a bill to repeal the ban on semiautomatic weapons," Reid continued, bashing Scalise for holding mainstream Republican positions. "Because he is in jeopardy and everybody is pulling for him, are we required in a moral sense to put that aside in the moment?"

Carter answered that they’re required to hope Scalise recovers but that the Republican "should not go forward being homophobic" because one of the Capitol police officers who saved his life was a lesbian. Neither Carter nor Reid noted that the officer was a member of Scalise’s security detail.

Carter also asserted that "the only way you can get to civility, is you must start with the establishment of justice. you must provide for the common good and you must provide the general welfare" and that Republicans "have to have a change in the trajectory of policy."

Reid promoted the segment in a Twitter post that said Scalise "was shot by a white man with a violent background, and saved by a black lesbian police officer, and yet..." and included a screenshot of a one-sided MSNBC graphic on Scalise’s record.

Seven sailors missing on the USS Fitzgerald found dead
[The Hill] All seven bodies of U.S. sailors who were unaccounted for after a Navy destroyer collided with a merchant ship off the coast of Japan on Saturday have been found dead.

The U.S. Navy said Saturday night that the crew members were found in a flooded compartment of the USS Fitzgerald, and are being taken to Naval Hospital Yokosuka to be identified.

"The families are being notified and being provided the support they need during this difficult time," the Navy said in a statement. "The names of the Sailors will be released after all notifications are made."

An official confirmed to CNN late Saturday that all seven missing had been found dead.

All of the ACX Crystal's 20-member Filipino crew were safe, according to Japanese shipping company Nippon Yusen K.K., which operates the ship.

The Japanese coast guard questioned crew members of the ACX Crystal, and is treating the incident as a case of possible professional negligence, said Masayuki Obara, a regional coast guard official.

ESTHER GOLDBERG: The Sexual Ambiguity of James Comey
I just couldn't resist
James Comey is not old school. He’s to Eliot Ness as the original Batman was to the original Superman. The latter openly fought for truth, justice, and the American way because he wanted to give back to the planet that had given him a home. The former was a confused vigilante, motivated by the dark desire to revenge his parents’ deaths at the hands of bad guys.

Comey is Petula Clark singing "Feelings." In his Senate testimony he described how his duties caused him "a whole lot of personal pain." He was often "confused and concerned" about things, sometimes even "honestly concerned." More than the facts, he spoke of his "impression," "reading," and "sense" of the facts. Something Loretta Lynch asked him to do "gave [him] a queasy feeling."

That’s not how Joe Friday talked on "Dragnet." Or Clint Eastwood. When Clint shot a bad guy, all he felt was a slight pressure on his trigger finger.

Comey talks the way girls talk.

My impression, sense, and reading of Comey -- my gut feeling -- is that he’s got a lot of girlish qualities. Others picked up on this as well, in a subconscious way, as the twitter sphere erupted with Comey-as-victim-of-sexual-harassment memes.

The media as well. "Elle compared Comey’s one-on-one meeting with President Donald Trump to a terrible date," noted Breitbart. "The former FBI director’s boss tried to seduce him. When the seduction failed, his boss fired him," wrote the Los Angeles Times.

Like many operatic heroines, Comey had "confidantes" through whom he could convey his personal narrative, via leaks to the media. Thus we learn how he prepared for his date with the president. "Before going to the dinner, Comey practiced Trump’s likely questions and his answers with a small group of his most trusted confidants," they told The Washington Post.

Anyone with a teenage daughter will recognize this scenario. "What’ll I say if he wants to go all the way?" she asks her convened BFFs. "How do I say no without turning him off?" Europe
Sweden's terror travellers: in stats
[TheLocal.se] Almost one in five who have travelled from Sweden to join bad boy jihadi groups in Iraq and Syria is younger than 19, according to a new report.

Sweden's security services Säpo estimates that around 300 people travelled to Iraq and Syria to join bad boy groups between 2012 and 2016. Researchers at the Swedish Defence University have looked more closely at 267 of them for a study on imported muscle which sheds unique light on a key debate in Europe.

They found that a total of 18 percent of people who left Sweden to fight for jihadi groups were 19 or younger, compared to 60 percent who were aged between 20 to 29. Most of them were men (76 percent) and 24 percent were women, but the number of women taking part in the armed conflict rose from only a handful in 2012 to making up around 40 percent of imported muscle in the conflict zone in 2014 and 2015.

Three quarters were Swedish citizens and 34 percent were born in Sweden. Those born abroad came from a total of 38 different countries, states the report, primarily Northern Africa, the Horn of Africa and the Middle East. However some came from former Yugoslavia and Russia. "In this aspect, it is not a homogenous group but rather a multi-ethnic one," write report authors Magnus Ranstorp and Linus Gustafsson.

Four in five lived in one of four of Sweden's 21 counties: Västra Götaland in western Sweden, the capital Stockholm, Skåne in the south and Örebro in central Sweden. More than 70 percent lived in an area of Sweden considered socioeconomically vulnerable. "It is clear socioeconomic aspects are contributing factors alongside group- and peer influences, ideological factors and local recruitment drives," write the authors, whose aim is to present facts and figures about the Swedish jihadi fighters in Iraq and Syria.

"For the first time we have exact figures ‐ not estimates ‐ about Swedish citizens who have left for Syria and Iraq since 2012 to join jihadist terror groups. We can say with confidence where they come from, how old they are and the proportion of men, women and kiddies," said Ranstorp, research director at the Centre for Asymmetric Threat Studies at the Swedish Defence University.

"This report is unique in that it also provides an analysis of what we know about imported muscle from other European states."

The number of imported muscle has dropped since the start of the conflict. A total of 98 first-time travellers are thought to have left Sweden in 2013 compared to five last year. Two in five have returned to Sweden, as of September 2016, while 49 of the 267 people part of the report are believed to have died in the conflict.

Some of the past years' terror attacks in Europe have involved imported muscle returning home, but the report states that so far, this is unusual: "The reality so far indicates that very few of the returnees intend to commit terrorist acts in Sweden or Europe, in that their focus is primarily aimed at the conflict in Syria and Iraq. Important to say is that both the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
and al-Qaeda affiliated groups have officially declared that Europe is a legitimate target, so that it cannot be excluded that future terrorist plots will involve returnees loyal to these organizations and movements."

Read the report, 'Swedish Foreign Fighters in Syria and Iraq: an analysis of open-source intelligence and statistical data', here.
The report, in English, is a PDF file containing a mere 138 pages.

As I've explained before...

The "dogfighting test" he referred to in his article was a _software test_ of the plant's control software,e engine throttle was limited in software. If you hit full throttle, nothing would happen. So naturally if it went through high speed high angle turns it lost energy, lost the dogfight. The ones in _service_ don't have this limitation.

It's just that he was wilfully dishonest in his report and it got a lot of traction.

CAR: Church shelters Muslims fleeing Anti-balaka
[Al Jazeera] Bangui, Central African Republic - At least 1,500 people, mostly Moslem civilians, currently stuck in a Catholic church in the country's southeast, are growing increasingly desperate, a priest has told Al Jazeera.

The displaced people took refuge in the cathedral in the town of Bangassou after fleeing deadly violence in mid-May.

"The situation is not safe enough to leave, and so they cannot move from here," said Father Alain Blaise Bissialo, the priest at the church.

"There are men who walk around town with guns."

The crisis in Bangassou began between May 13-17 when Anti-balaka, a vigilante militia made up of mostly Christians, launched a series of attacks on Moslems in Tokoyo, a largely Moslem district of Bangassou.

Thousands flocked to a nearby mosque to seek refuge.

Yet, the mosque was subsequently attacked too, culminating in the killing of the local imam.

In an attempt to save civilians at the mosque, the Catholic bishop sent trucks to Tokoyo to transport as many civilians as possible back to the church for their safety.

"At last count, 150 people were killed during the violence since mid-May, but this number could rise," Antoinne Mbao Bogo, president of the local branch of the Red Thingy, told Al Jazeera on Friday.

Alidou Djibril, a displaced person at the church, said there was a shortage of food and clothes.

"It's hard for us, we have to stay in the same place, we cannot move, and we are fasting," he said.

Djibril said they only received food one week after arriving at the church, adding that the Anti-balaka were not allowing traders to bring food to them.

According to the United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
, most of Bangassou's 35,000 residents fled, some to sites for internally displaced people and others across into neighbouring Democratic Republic of the Congo
...formerly the Congo Free State, Belgian Congo, Zaire, and who knows what else, not to be confused with the Brazzaville Congo aka Republic of Congo, which is much smaller and much more (for Africa) stable. DRC gave the world Patrice Lumumba and Joseph Mobutu, followed by years of tedious civil war. Its principle industry seems to be the production of corpses. With a population of about 74 million it has lots of raw material...

Arabia
Saudi 'rejects' Ottoman Turkey's offer to build base in kingdom
[Al Jazeera] Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
has rejected an offer from The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
to build a military base in the kingdom, saying it "cannot allow" Ankara to establish such a facility on its territories, according to state-run media.

The official SPA news agency reported on Saturday that the kingdom would not be welcoming a Turkish military base similar to that built in neighbouring Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates...
since its "armed forces and military capabilities are at the best level".

Quoting an unnamed official, the statement said: "Saudi Arabia can not allow Turkey to establish military bases on its territories," before adding that Saudi armed forces were participating abroad, including from Turkey's Incirlik base, "in the fight against terrorism and protecting security and stability in the region".

The statement came days after Turkish President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
told Portuguese broadcaster RTP that he had offered to build a military base in Saudi Arabia shortly after work began on Turkey's facility in Qatar in 2014.

"I made the same offer to King Salman
...either the largest species of Pacific salmon or the current Sheikh of the Burnin' Sands, Cutodian of the Two Holy Mosquesand Lord of Most of the Arabians....
... and said that if it's appropriate we could also establish a base in Saudi Arabia. They said they would look into it but since that day nothing more came," he said.

Last week, the Turkish parliament fast-tracked a bill allowing the deployment of troops to its military base in Qatar.

ISIL’s major plan to establish Khurasan province foiled by Afghan forces: MoD
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] A major plan of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) to establish the Khurasan province in Afghanistan has been foiled by the Afghan cops, the acting Minister of Defense Tariq Shah Bahrami said.

Speaking during a presser, Bahrami said the ISIS terrorist group was attempting to establish the Khurasan province under its so called caliphate in Kot and Achin district of Nangarhar
The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country..
However,
it was a brave man who first ate an oyster...
he said the Afghan forces managed to foil the plans of the terror group by taking immediate steps and launching counter-terrorism operations that inflicted heavy casualties to the fighters of the terror group.

Bahrami further added that the Afghan cops have launched 12 large operations so far and dozens of medium and large operations while hundreds of Arclight airstrikes have been conducted on the hideouts of the terror group.

According to the acting minister of defense, at least 2,500 gunnies of the terrorist group have been killed during the operations until now and around 800 others have sustained injuries.

He also added that the loyalists of the terror group were also hit during the operations in Helmand
...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan...
, Farah, Zabul, and Uruzgan provinces.

In the meantime, he said the fighters of the group are only having sporadic and small operations in the named places but do not have the capability to launch large scale attacks.

London's Grenfell Tower blaze killed 500 residents: Local resident
[Iran Press TV] British media have censored the death of hundreds of people who have bit the dust in the Grenfell Tower fire in west London, a local resident has said.

The more than 500 people unaccounted from Grenfell Tower fire are dead, Nadia, whose family name was not given and identifies herself on social media as DJ Ayla, told Press TV.

London Police Commander Stuart Cundy told news hounds on Saturday that 58 people are feared dead in the fire.

According to reports, however, the building was home to about 600 people.

Nadia told Press TV's correspondent in London, Camilia Shambayati, that only 76 out of some 600 people who were living in the building where she grew up, had been accounted for and more than 500 residents were still missing.

#1  Not being reported is the green tech impact. Insulation was highly flammable material green tech. Once ignited had a chimney stack effect and ran the building very very fast. No sprinkler system also. Adoring green tech so much will cause an under reported impact. Easier to attack a politician should the media wish to divert attention. I have been working many hours but I still can glean information or perhaps speculate. Perhaps here some could elaborate a bit more. Now at this moment I am thinking of Bright pebbles.

#3  It is all proof that liberals are more a threat to humanity than anything.
Green is more important than a fire alarm or sprinklers or staircases.

They incinerate people in their own living quarters. How efficient.

The liberal utopia is brighter than you ever thought. Fell that green warm, very warm love for the planet envelop you and your whole block and you will feel good about yourself as you go up in a towering inferno.

Not to be trusted with Government, the left.

#4  They are going to scapegoat the contractor for this. When the fault lies with the regulator allowing flammable material to be used.

Coating the outside of a highrise with flammable material would appear to be madness. But I'll bet the reason can be traced back to the need to claim making buildings 'more energy efficient' would save money as well as saving the planet.

#5  The tenants were told to shelter in place until someone came to get them. In a structure fire, that is murder.

Long before the flames reach you two other deadly elements will reach you first and fast. 1) Smoke. Smoke from a structure fire can contain over 300 different chemical toxins replacing oxygen in the air you breath. It is like being gassed at Auschwitz, but worse. 2) Heat. The first thing that happens to your lungs when you inhale super heated air is the searing of the lungs bronschioles and cilia, the airways and balloon like clusters of tissue that absorb oxygen from the air and into the blood stream. These tissues are very fragile and sensitive and will sear and collapse very quickly. With no oxygen from the lungs you suffocate very quickly all the while area around you is heating up rapidly as well.

In hot structural fires the heat in areas may become so high that spontaneous combustion occurs in items in the room. At the same time the smoke is so intense you can put your hand a couple of inches from your face and not see it.

The bureaucrats whose jobs it is too educate newly elected officials and emergency responders of codes should also be held accountable. Many times they don't even read the codes and instead implement their own policies which are all over the map.

#7  Both my daughter and I are pretty certain that there were a heck of a lot more residents in the Grenfell Tower: large families, illegal sub-lets, friends crashing with friends ... so yes, I can see 600 residents. Some reports have it that there were 120 units; single bedroom, and two-bedroom. That would average out to 5 residents per unit, in a town where housing costs are out of sight.

#8  # 7 yes, that makes sense. So much information is hidden on purpose. Journalism is dead. Seems more and more information is controlled in many parts of the world. We know governments manipulate information. I suppose people like Soros have known this for years. The elites at work always in the background or trying to be hidden. That would explain why the modern day con job is so successful(with Obama over and over again).

#13  #5 The tenants were told to shelter in place until someone came to get them.

Having worked in a couple tall office buildings (20-50 stories), standard procedure if memory serves, was to evacuate 2 floors above and two below the fire. But these were modern office buildings with sprinklers and fire stops and fire hose stations.

As for poor SCfI, if Joseph Mendiola ever shows up again, he's going to faint. Kidding aside, part of the fun of Rantburg is you get to hang around people from widely different knowledge domains, each of which comes with its own set of TLAs. (Three Letter Acronyms)

#20  If the Daily Mail is correct, the cladding used was only legal for low rise buildings, and not highrises.

What happens when these schemes are dreamed up is that demand suddenly far exceeds existing supply (experienced contractors in this case) and much of the work is done by people with little experience and often outright cowboys.

Which is what happened in Australia when a roof insulation program was brought in that resulted in a number of deaths.

Texas Just Banned Child Marriage
Texas passed a law to make marriage under age 18 illegal.

On Thursday, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed a bill banning child marriage, in the state with the second highest rate of underage marriage.

Before this new law, 16- and 17-year-olds could marry in Texas with parental consent, according to advocacy group Tahirih Justice Center, which helped draft and drive the bill to get passed. What’s more, a child of any age could get married with judicial approval.

This new law includes one exception: Those ages 16 and 17 can marry if they have been legally emancipated from their parents. In Texas, this still sets a firm minimum age for marriage at 16.

Ron Paul confirms 'deep state' exists
[Iran Press TV] Former US Congressman Ron Paul has voiced his strong belief in a secret network known as the "deep state" which runs the affairs in the United States.

"I strongly believe there is the existence of a deep state" in the US, the senior statesman said in an interview on Friday.

"Deep state" refers to powerful economic and intelligence organizations that control the country's affairs.

The former Representative for Texas' 14th and 22nd congressional districts who sought the presidency of the United States in 1988, 2008 and 2012, said that despite the fierce opposition among members of the Senate, the huge majority, 97 to 2, agreed on Thursday to slap fresh sanctions against Iran and Russia.

Easily passing agreement on such affairs is ample proof of a deep state running the US, he said.

#2  I don't believe there is some deep conspiracy with leaders & etc.... IMO, it's just a lot of second rate people - who got into positions way beyond their abilities - trained to act in certain, personally rewarding, ways. People that pursue their personal advancement while competing in virtue signaling. Trumps election threatens not just their personal livelihoods - and they unhesitatingly sacrifice millions of us to guard their personal livelihoods, but their entire picture of the world. You could no more stop them by finding and eliminating their "secret leaders" than you could stop the Holocausts (where were several last century) by assassinating Hitler, Stalin, or Mao.

Tour de force, GG. This is what has happened over the past two generations. While the rest of us were producing and building and employing (or being employed) they were building walls around their stronghold of metric-free and anxiety-free lives, then assembling power and using the regulatory leviathan to control ours.

They do not outnumber the rest of us but they are much better organized and they control avenues of power that act as force multipliers to allow themselves to direct coercion in ways that we never can. Ousting them is necessary but will be difficult. They are armed and have already indicated they will kill at the slightest hint of threat to their magic paychecks and comfortable lives.

(Reflects upon this for a moment)

I don't so much think that there's a Council of Evil that meets Tuesdays at 0900 for coffee, donuts, and conspiracy as there are just now that many people, with the same political and social goals, in places of authority that no Administration can accomplish anything unless those goals more or less align with theirs.

It's deep in the root and branch now. Might only be one way left to dig it out, and nobody will like what replaces it.

31 sentenced to death in Hisham Barakat's killing
[Al Jazeera] A criminal court in Egypt has sentenced 31 people to death for their alleged part in the June 2015 liquidation of the country's top prosecutor, Hisham Barakat.

The ruling on Saturday, issued by judge Hassan Farid, referred the case to the country's top theologian to get his non-binding opinion on the death sentences, a formality followed by courts in the case of capital punishment.

Delivering the verdict, Farid called Barakat's liquidation a "heinous and cowardly conspiracy".

"They shed the blood of a Moslem while he was fasting in Ramadan," Farid said, referring to the Moslem holy month that fell in July in 2015.

"And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his punishment is hell," the judge added, quoting a verse from Islam's holy book, the Koran.

Barakat was appointed prosecutor-general by Egypt's then interim President Adly Mansour in July 2013, shortly after the military ousted the country's first freely-elected president, Mohammed Morsi.

He oversaw the acquittal of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak

Daesh training Izadi children as bombers and executioners: Kurdish official
[Iran Press TV] Over 1,600 Izadi (Yezdi) children have been trained by the ISIS terrorist group as jacket wallahs and executioners over the past three years, says a Kurdish official.

The director of the Izadi Affairs Office of the Kurdistan Regional Government was quoted by the DPA as saying on Saturday that these children trained by the Takfiri

Lions of Islam are a global threat.

"It cannot be ruled out that ISIS could use them in terrorist actions in European countries as well as the US, Arab countries or elsewhere," he noted.

According to recent figures, a total of 6,417 Izadis have managed to flee from the Lions of Islam and were rescued by various liberating forces. Reports show that at least 9,900 Izadis were killed in the first few days of ISIS's operations in Iraq in 2017.

Back in August 2014, ISIS Lions of Islam overran Sinjar, killing, raping, and enslaving large numbers of Izadis. The town was recaptured on November 13, 2015, during a two-day operation by Peshmerga forces and Izadi fighters.

The Office of Kidnapped Affairs in the northern Iraqi city of Dohuk says around 3,500 Izadi Kurds are currently being held captive in the ISIS-held areas, and that a large proportion of the abductees are women and kiddies.

and has been used by Lions of Islam to transfer weapons and arms across the border with Pakistain.

Bahrami said during the army operation to retake Tora Bora some 22 ISIS Lions of Islam were killed, adding that 10 others were also maimed in the clearance mission. He would not elaborate on potential military casualties.

ISIS, a group mainly based in Iraq and Syria, has gained a foothold in eastern Afghan territories mainly due to a lack of security and growing infighting between Taliban factions. The group has sought to establish a branch under the title of Khorasan province in the Afghan territories. It has carried out several high-profile attacks on civilians and security forces, including a recent bombing in the diplomatic zone of the Afghan capital, Kabul, which killed more than 150 people.

According to Scotland Yard, a 27-year-old man arrested in east London on June 9, a 28-year-old arrested in Barking on June10 and a 19-year-old man also arrested in Barking the following day were released.

All 17 others arrested during a probe into the deadly attack have already been released from custody, The Guardian reported.

Terror on and near the London Bridge left at least eight people dead and maimed almost 50 others on June 3.

Eight minutes after the first emergency call, armed police forces killed ringleader Khuram Butt, 27, Rachid Redouane, 30, and Youssef Zaghba, 22.

The three knife-wielding assailants drove a hired van into pedestrians on the bridge and stabbed others in Borough Market in an attack initially praised and subsequently claimed by the ISIS Takfiri

It took 11 days for the historic market to open again after the attack.

A minute’s silence for the victims was observed by traders, shoppers, police and political figures, who gathered at the site Wednesday for the reopening.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan said there were "mixed feelings" at the market.

"Our thoughts are with those who bit the dust and were maimed," he said. "There are traders who lost business. Come to Borough Market, buy their things and support these traders."

Speaking in Geneva on Friday, Ali Bin Smaikh al-Marri called on the UN Human Rights Council to condemn the blockade of Qatar as it infringes upon the rights of more than 13,000 citizens of the Arab countries involved.

"All these decisions are really a violation against the rights of the families," Marri said in a separate interview with Al Jazeera.

Hundreds of complaints were submitted to the NHRC by email, phone and hotlines, or personal visits to its headquarters in Qatar's capital, Doha.

"These procedures [blockade] are worse than the Berlin Wall," Marri said.

Lower than expected turnout for Muslim anti-terror march in Cologne
[DW] A peace march organized by German Moslem groups to condemn terrorism and violence in the name of Islam has been held in Cologne. Organizers had registered 10,000 participants, but actual turnout was much lower.

Under gray skies, demonstrators waved banners proclaiming "together against terror" and "terrorism has no religion" on Saturday in the western German city of Cologne
...a lovely city in Germany. They invented perfume there...
Estimates of the number of people who took part varied from several hundred to about 3,500.
Based on the bit of video and photo at the link, I would guesstimate that there are as many as a few hundred actual Muslims, the rest of the crowd being reporters, camera crew, and supportive non-Muslims.
The march, organized by Islamic scholar Lamya Kaddor and peace activist Tarek Mohamad to condemn violence in the name of Islam across the world, was preceded by a heated debate when Germany's biggest Islamic association, the Turkish-Islamic Union (known by its acronym DITIB), refused to take part.

Follow-up marches are planned for Berlin and several other German cities.

blamed for last year's failed coup, state media reported.

Birol Erdem, a former senior justice ministry official, was released under judicial supervision which means he should still face trial, a date for which has yet to be set.

He had been taken into custody in Ankara earlier this month along with his wife Gulumser Erdem. Unlike her husband, she was, however, placed under arrest by an Ankara court ahead of trial, the state-run Anadolu news agency reported.

Erdem, who was questioned for three days, had been accused of seeking to violate the constitution and being a leader of "an armed terror group".

Reports at the time said Erdem was detained after other suspects had named him in their testimonies.

In a separate development, the son-in-law of Istanbul mayor Kadir Topbas, Omer Faruk Kavurmaci, was detained again by police on suspicion of business links to Gulen. Kavurmaci were tossed into the calaboose in October but was released in May on health grounds as he suffers from epilepsy. This had sparked angry claims he had benefited from nepotistic and preferential treatment.

King Salman named Sheikh Saud bin Abdullah bin Mubarak Attorney General, with a ministerial rank, reported the official Saudi Press Agency.

The royal decree stated that the Public Prosecutor's Office is to function under the King’s authority directly to guarantee its independence and autonomy and to assign experts to review the system of the General Investigation and Prosecution Authority to propose any required amendments within 90 days.

Observers believe that the royal order "came as a step towards reformation for the justice system in the Kingdom, where the Public Prosecutor office is directly linked to the King and thus will be completely independent of the executive authority."

The royal orders included relieving Sheikh Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulrahman al-Abdullah al-Arini, head of the investigation and prosecution agency of his duties and appointing Sheikh Saud bin Abdullah bin Mubarak as a public prosecutor.

The Saudi monarch also decided to end the service of General Osman bin Nasser al-Muhraj, the director of public security, and promoted Major General Saud bin Abdulaziz Hilal as director of public security.

The royal orders included the appointment of Abdulhakim bin Mohammed bin Sulaiman al-Tamimi as head of the General Authority of Civil Aviation under the rank of minister and Suhail bin Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz Abanmi as governor of the General Authority for Zakat and Income, with the rank of excellence.

Initial medical treatment had been administered before the man was transferred to the neuroscience unit.

According to the hospital, the operation was especially precarious because the bullet was lodged in an area of the brain where a mistake in removing it could have been fatal.

The man’s condition is now described as excellent.

The medical team consisted of Drs Abdelhamid Bin Shaaban, Faraj al-Amami, Adel Abuzinin and their assistants.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Hezbollah’s Mahdi Scouts and their road to martyrdom
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] As long as there are terror entities in the shape of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and its proxy Hezbollah, using the state system to brainwash youngsters into carrying out acts of terror in foreign lands, there will never be an end to terrorism.

As far as Hezbollah is concerned, it will never run out of cannon fodder, as thousands of child conscripts are being trained within its scouting groups, and are always waiting in the pipeline, ready to take up the challenge of becoming a jacket wallah or proxy warrior within the Shiite militia’s ever-diminishing ranks. The conflict in Syria has certainly taken a toll, as Hezbollah warriors die dutifully in droves for their Iranian paymasters.

Children as young as eight, who have joined the ranks of Hezbollah’s Imam al-Mahdi Scouts, are being brain-washed into learning the concepts of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini’s radical Shiite ideology, ready to be unleashed across the globe as part of Iran’s terror machine. As far as Hezbollah is concerned, they like to catch their conscripts at the earliest of age, and one of their favoured methods is to sign them up as Imam al-Mahdi Scouts, the youth wing of their fighting machine.

A U.S.-Led Military Coup Could Be Brewing In The Philippines To Oust Duterte
Rumours? Fake news? Partially true? True? So many weasel words, but a dearth of quoted sources on the record. One begins to suspect someone is trying to cause trouble between allies and within the Philippines.
[MintPressNews] The U.S. is beefing up its military presence in the Philippines, claiming that the Philippines government requested their aid. However, President Rodrigo Duterte announced on Sunday he made no such request, raising concern that the U.S. may have an ulterior motive.

While the Philippine government claims that it did not request U.S. military aid, it remains unconfirmed if the Philippine Army requested the aid independently without consulting the federal government.

Duterte insinuated during Sunday’s press conference that this may be the case, stating that due to years of U.S. training, "our soldiers are pro-American, that I cannot deny." He did not explicitly comment on whether the army had asked for U.S. military aid without his approval.

However, the Philippine military seems to have admitted to asking for the aid. Philippine military spokesman Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla told the Associated Press: 'We don’t have adequate surveillance equipment, so we asked the U.S. military for assistance. It’s non-combat assistance.'

#1  The fact that Mindanao is the very region now threatened by Daesh suggests that documented U.S. intelligence plans to use the terror group as a tool to destabilize and overthrow democratically-elected presidents may now be coming to fruition in the Philippines.

An entirely understandable train of thought, desperately flawed nonetheless. Could a Megyn Kelly and Alex Jones segment be pulled together to further explore ?

#5  “Duterte ejected U.S. special forces from the southern Philippines last year”. Not exactly true, SOCPAC phased out the Joint Special Operations Task Force- Philippines, (JSOTF-P) and the mission was assumed by Marine Special Operations Command, MARSOC in Zamboanga. Despite the scale down the Marines have been engaged down there, at one point a few months ago they got into a firefight and the whole squad had to leave the country prior to the news reports came out that they were involved in direct action. Duterte has been on kidney dialysis and has been absent due to “illness”, yes there maybe something afoot going on but to the extent that the US is plotting a coup is doubtful. We have lost contact over the last eight years under the prior administration of all our well-groomed assets. Now you do have some players that are vested in that rice bowl down there and they may seize this window of opportunity to take advantage of the current weakness by using the US as a smokescreen take action…….

Islamist militants kill two, kidnap others in Mali army camp attack
[AlAhram] Two soldiers were killed and others kidnapped Saturday after jihadists attacked a military base in northern Mali, a local official and a resident told AFP.

"Around five o'clock, the jihadists attacked the military camp at Bintagoungou," some 80 kilometres (50 miles) from Timbuktu, the official said.

"At least two soldiers were killed and many others were kidnapped. All the camp's military material was ransacked," he added.

A resident added that "there are no Malian soldiers to be seen -- the camp has been laid waste. The jihadists left with military hostages."

An army source confirmed the attack to AFP without giving any details.

Northern Mali continues to fall prey to jihadist attacks with four people having died in an assault on UN peacekeepers near their base in Kidal earlier this month.

The Group to Support Islam and Moslems, also known as Jamaat Nusrat al-Islam wal-Moslemeen in Arabic, a fusion of three jihadist groups with previous al-Qaeda links formed in March, claimed that attack.

Led by the Malian jihadist Iyad Ag Ghaly, a former leader of the Ansar Dine
...a mainly Tuareg group that controlled areas of Mali's northern desert together with Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) and MUJAO in early 2012...
Islamists, the group has claimed multiple attacks on domestic and foreign forces since its formation, notably the 12,000-member MINUSMA UN force.

MINUSMA began operations in 2013, providing security to and assisting Malian troops in a region which fell to jihadist groups linked to al-Qaeda in March 2012.

Although a French-led military intervention the following year drove the groups out of key towns, they have since spread further south in the troubled West African nation.

The unrest has continued despite a 2015 peace deal between the government and Tuareg-led rebels offering partial autonomy to the north.

This List Of Attacks Against Conservatives Is Mind Blowing
A wave of liberal rage has marked the last 11 months since the rise and subsequent election of President Donald Trump.

Antifa protestors [sic] clad in black masks shut down college campuses, destroy property and indiscriminately attack those they disagree with, whether women or the elderly. Meanwhile, CNN fires Kathy Griffin for taking photos with a bloody replica of the president’s decapitated head.

Amid this backdrop, The Huffington Post publishes an article calling for the execution of Trump and "everyone assisting his agenda."

Then, shots ring out as a man gorged on media hysteria attempts to slaughter Republican congressmen while they practice for a charity baseball game.

The aggression since Trump’s nomination is difficult to enumerate, but nevertheless, The Daily Caller News Foundation pored over media reports to compile a close but non-exhaustive list of violent acts against conservatives in months following the Republican National Convention.

In creating the list, The DCNF reviewed numerous articles detailing attacks against conservatives and Trump supporters. Only incidences of violence and threats of violence where the perpetrators were clear are included in the report, excluded are events where the instigator was difficult to ascertain.

List follows.

#1  The national debt was doubled in only 8 short years to build a huge entitlement society. That society is unsustainable and will eventually die, taking everything down with it. To try to short circuit and terminate this massive beast only enrages it, like any animalistic beast its only recourse is to destroy its threats. These are very dangerous times.

#3  Indeed, GG. It has taken two generations.

Even Reagan - for whom I voted and still respect, because he was the right man for the times - was just another progressive, albeit the last one with a real conscience. The size of the public thugocracy grew even under his time.

If we could gather the entire mass of publicly employed and welfare recipients into a giant field and tell them, "Look to your the person to your left, then to the one on your your right. Two of the three of you need to lose your income stream and rejoin the private sector to save the country" - which is what is necessary - you'd have tens of millions of panicked madmen and madwomen, ready to burn down the universe at even the mention of the truth.

And that is precisely where we are at in 2017.

#6  #5 Grom, that's an interesting point. I think part of the explanation is that people on the right tend to be restrained by these things called "morals", which they learn from their parents and from their pastors (or rabbis). Being a-moral gives you a much broader range of options.

But the antifas shouldn't confuse moral restraint with lack of capability. An interesting place for a good leftist to visit not far from Congressman Scalise's district is this store, where you can watch fathers making sure that their daughters have just the right rifle for their first deer hunting trip. (Their sons are in the Marines and are using different types of hunting rifles.) There are teenage girls in Congressman Scalise's district who, properly motivated, could have shot every Congressman on that baseball field through the heart before anyone noticed an attack was underway. And field dressed them. But God help us if it comes to that.

On the other hand, I do not believe that civilized restraint in the face of murderous savages (whether they call themselves Muslims, BLM, or Antifa) is a virtue.

Munich shooter was American on holiday in Europe: report
[Local.de] The man who shot and critically injured a policewoman near Munich on Tuesday was a US citizen born in Bavaria, according to a US media report

Thirty-seven-year-old Alexander Bischof from the US state of Colorado has been identified as the shooter by various family members, broadcaster Denver7 reported on Wednesday.
According to Denver7, Mr. Bischof has been in trouble with the law in various more or less minor ways since he was a juvenile.
On Tuesday a man shot a policewoman in the head after stealing her colleague's gun at Unterföhring station on the outskirts of Munich. Police have still not confirmed the identity of the attacker in the assault that also left two bystanders injured with bullet wounds.

The Local could not reach the Munich police department for comment on the shooter's identity.

The shooter is currently in a secure psychiatric unit after being apprehended shortly after fleeing the scene. Prosecutors have charged him with attempted murder.

The shooter is currently in a secure psychiatric unit after being apprehended shortly after fleeing the scene.
According to Denver7, Bischof had arrived in Munich from Athens on Monday evening as part of a trip around Europe. He slept in Munich airport before travelling on the S8 metro line into the city on Tuesday morning.

Eyewitnesses have described how he was acting in an unusual way and talking to himself on the train.

He then suddenly, and without apparent cause, punched a commuter in the face who had just entered the carriage. Other passengers intervened, while the police were also alerted.

At Unterföhring station, two officers detained the suspect and took down his details in a routine manner, according to police chief Hubertus Andrä.

But then the suspect attempted to push the male officer in front of an oncoming train. In the ensuing scuffle, the man stole the officer’s gun and fired several shots at his female colleague, with one bullet wounding her in the head.

The 26-year-old officer remained in a critical condition in hospital on Thursday afternoon.

Six found guilty of involvement in Mumbai blasts of 1993
[DAWN] MUMBAI: An Indian court on Friday found six men guilty of involvement in a series of blasts in Mumbai in 1993 that killed 257 people and maimed 800, the latest in convictions related to India’s most deadly bombings.

The special antiterrorism court said the six had transported weapons and planted bombs, which targeted landmark buildings in the financial hub, including the main stock exchange.

A seventh man was acquitted on lack of evidence.

Investigators had said the bombs were ordered by India’s most-wanted man, Dawood Ibrahim, to avenge the demolition of the historic Babri mosque in north India by Hindu hardliners in 1992, during a period of religious conflict.

All of the seven men are Moslem and were jugged

between 2003 and 2010.

Arguments to decide on the sentences would begin on Monday, said Deepak Salvi, special prosecutor for the Central Bureau of Investigation, India’s federal police, who said he would seek the maximum penalties available for each of the convicted men.

The maximum penalty is death.

"It’s a victory for the CBI, Mumbai police and the people of India who trust in justice," Salvi said.

The six convicted men were Abu Salem, Mustafa Dossa, Feroz Abdul Rashid Khan, Taher Merchant, Riyaz Siddiqui and Karimullah Khan. Lawyers for the men were not immediately reachable.

Legal proceedings against those accused of being involved in the bombings have resulted in more than 100 convictions, most of which are still winding their way through the legal system because of appeals and commutations of sentences.

Woman killed for refusing marriage proposal
[DAWN] SAHIWAL: A man killed a woman for refusing his marriage proposal in Barkat Town on Friday.

Farzana, 28, a resident of Barkat Town, had got married with Rahim 10 years back but her husband died soon after marriage. Her parents married her off again with another man but they divorced. Meanwhile,
...back at the abandoned silver mine, there was another kaboom...
Farzana allegedly developed relations with Asif, a resident of the same town, who asked her to marry him but she refused to accept his proposal.

On night between Thursday and Friday, Asif visited Farzana at her house and they again had an argument over the marriage issue. At this, Asif shot up her and she was struck down in his prime. The suspect expeditiously departed at a goodly pace after committing the crime.

The body was handed over to Farzana’s family after autopsy.

Four killed, 11 wounded in Mandera after IED Blast
[SHABELLENEWS] Four people, including a chief, died and 11 were maimed yesterday when a passenger vehicle they were in ran over an improvised bomb (IED) at Sheikh Barrow on the Lafey-Elwak road, Mandera County.

Unconfirmed reports last evening indicated the number of the dead could have risen to eight.

Police said the dead were part of 15 passengers traveling in a Land Cruiser vehicle. They said those injured were rushed to Lafey Sub-county Hospital.

The IED is suspected to have been planted by Al-Shabaab

North Eastern Regional Coordinator Mohamud Saleh said the 11 suffered multiple injuries.

"The four-wheel-drive vehicle was using a condemned road when it ran over an IED. We had discouraged vehicles from using the route because it is close to the border and is very dangerous. No arrest has been made so far," said Saleh.

IEDs are the leading cause of death of soldiers and police forces deployed to fight snuffies and bad boy groups in North Eastern and Coast regions. On May 31, 10 coppers were killed when an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) they were in struck an IED in Lamu.

and the Israeli regime are in clandestine talks to establish official economic relations for the first time since the entity was created on the Paleostinian territories some 69 years ago, a report says.

The Times, citing unnamed Arab and American sources, said in a report on Saturday that forming economic connections between to two, which would be gradual and step by step, could begin by allowing Israeli companies to open shops in the Arab kingdom, or granting El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. permission to fly over Saudi airspace.

"However,

any such progress would bolster the alliance between Iran’s two most implacable enemies and change the dynamics of the many conflicts destabilizing the Middle East," the report speculated.

So far Saudi officials have had some open meetings with bigwigs in Israel, trying to gradually pave the way for establishing ties with the occupying regime.

Back in May last year, Israeli newspaper Arutz Sheva reported that Saudi Arabia and its Persian Gulf allies, namely Jordan and Egypt, had been sending messages to Israel through various emissaries, including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. They had asked Tel Aviv to resume Middle East negotiations under new terms, which included changes to the Saudi initiative.

Nebraska Democratic Party official won't resign after calling reactions to shooting at GOP baseball practice 'so funny'

Chelsey Gentry-Tipton of Omaha said in statement that she will not resign as chairwoman of the party’s Black Caucus, saying her post was taken out of context by party officials.

The Nebraska party’s leadership asked Gentry-Tipton to step down Wednesday, several hours after she wrote, in a Facebook thread about the shooting at in Alexandria, Virginia, "Watching the congressman crying on live tv abt the trauma they experienced. Y is this so funny tho?"

Later, in the same thread, she stated, "The very people that push pro NRA legislation in efforts to pad their pockets with complete disregard for human life. Yeah, having a hard time feeling bad for them."

#1  In my opinion we are in the midst of a shared psychotic disorder. The media is fanning the flames of this disorder. Simple exposure is and especially frequent access to this barrage of media is in my opinion the prime culprit. The media supports the information the unbalanced mind is willing to accept. Perhaps this is why efforts to enlighten the corrupted mind fail. It is my understanding a psychotic disorder is supposed to be temporary but with unbalanced media input prolongs the psychotic event. I see day to day people walk about really on edge. Drugs needed not needed , withdrawals, many side effects and especially disorientation. The drug crisis seems to bring with it a nearly permanent psychotic break with at least an obvious mood disorder. With the current media mind games comes the increased deviations from the traditional norms. These people will go "postal" if prodded to do so. I dread Halloween. Real Zombies among the living.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
O'Reilly says GOP shooting ‘prophecy' came true; gunman ‘deeply enmeshed in the far left'
[Wash Times] Author Bill O'Reilly says he accurately predicted the kind of political violence that unfolded this week when an armed gunman attacked congressional Republicans in Alexandria, Virginia.

The former Fox News Channel star told One America News Network’s Patrick Hussion Thursday evening that he made prophetic warnings months ago as activists began a "resistance" movement against President Trump, saying that a new media paradigm, a "no-rules" culture and violent rhetoric by cultural influencers created a toxic atmosphere ripe for bloodshed.

"The first rule in journalism when I was in Boston University was seek the truth. Gone. Now, we have an ideological media, both on the left and the right," Mr. O'Reilly said. "On the left, because of Donald Trump’s election, they’re so hateful in the media and in the real ideological precincts, that all rules are out the window. We saw that with the comedian [Kathy Griffin] holding the head, with other people saying vile things about Donald Trump, with the ’resistance’ movement -- that ’we’re not going to support anything the president does no matter how good it might be for the country -- we’re not going to support it. And, indeed, we’re going to try and destroy him at every turn.’"

The pundit said it was those components, which he talked about on "The O’Reilly Factor" prior to leaving Fox, that led to 66-year-old gunman James Hodgkinson shooting Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise and three others on a baseball field.

Mr. Hodgkinson, who died of wounds suffered in the resulting shootout with police officers, was a former volunteer for Vermont Sen. Bernard Sanders’ presidential campaign. His social media pages were filled with anti-Trump and anti-GOP content.

Newborn girl recovered from dumpster in Multan
[DAWN] A newborn girl child was thrown in a dumpster at Vehari Chowk in Multan by unidentified people, police has said on Saturday, quoting eyewitnesses.

Eyewitnesses had quickly informed Rescue 1122, which took the baby girl to Nishtar Hospital. Doctors at the hospital say the child is not in any danger.

Police has recorded witness statements and started an investigation. The Rescue 1122 team will hand the child over to an Edhi Foundation team.

This is not the first such incident, as 'unwanted' new-born children, often girls, are frequently abandoned by their families and left to fend for themselves.

The Edhi Foundation has been criticised in the past by right-wing organizations for providing cradles outside its offices, urging parents to leave newborn children there instead of abandoning them to the elements. Right-wing organizations, many of which also condemn contraceptives, claim these cradles 'promote' promiscuity.

Recordings show Qatar conspiring against Gulf policy in Bahrain
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Al Arabiya News Channel has released late Friday four phone call recordings between the Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates...
i Emir’s Special Advisor Hammad bin Khalifa Abdullah al-Attiya and Hassan Ali Mohammed Juma’a Sultan, a Bahraini dissident, whose nationality was revoked in 2015. The recordings show how Qatar was conspiring behind the scene against the Gulf states’ unified policy in Bahrain.

While the phone recordings were undated, they allude that the backchannel talks might have took place in 2011, after the six-member Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) sent their joint military forces known as Peninsula Shield Force at the request by the Bahraini government to protect the latter country’s national security.

The first recording shows how Qatar was trying to balance between Doha keeping up with its pro-GCC policy in Bahrain but instead it was working behind the scene, using al-Jazeera News Channel to broadcast opposing agendas.

"[Rioters] People are now dealing with the forces as forces of occupation," Sultan was heard telling Attiya in the first phone call conversation.

"I am with what you are saying," Attiya said. "I should not be telling you this, as you should know, we in Qatar, we have our reservations [over Peninsula Shield Force presence in Bahrain]."

Attiya said that Qatar cannot be against its GCC "brethrens" and it "rejects to patriciate" in the Peninsula Shield Force.

"As you know the law for the Peninsula Shield Force requires all countries to patriciate," he said. "We pressured ourselves not to participate as forces," adding that there were two Qatari officers, "who are being watched."

Attiya also said if the situation further developed, he will personally see Sultan or "Shiekh Issa."

Sheikh Isa Qassim, an opposition leader, who had his Bahraini citizenship revoked in 2016 and is facing a "money laundering" trial.

In the second recording Attiya was inquiring over what was exactly happening in Bahrain, and in the third phone call, the Qatari advisor asked Sultan if the latter could recommend a person who can appear on al-Jazeera to talk about the situation in Bahrain.

-led Resolute Support Mission, General John Nicholson has said.

According to a statement by U.S. Forces-Afghanistan "U.S. Forces-Afghanistan has confirmed the death of the ISIS-K senior director of media production, Jawad Khan. Khan was killed in an Arclight airstrike in Achin, Nangarhar Province on June 3, as part of ongoing efforts to defeat ISIS-K in Afghanistan this year."

"His death will disrupt the ISIS-K network, degrade their recruitment process and hinder their attempts to conduct International operations," said Gen. John Nicholson, commander, US Forces-Afghanistan. "There is no safe haven for ISIS-K in Afghanistan. With our Afghan partners we will continue to aggressively target ISIS-K and defeat them."

The statement further added that Khan served as the senior ISIS commander in the Khorasan branch of the group. The removal of Khan will deprive the group of an experienced media production director and skilled propagandist. This strike also destroyed a major ISIS-K media production hub and disrupts their connections to ISIS main in Syria.

In the past 10 months, Afghan and U.S. counter-terrorism forces have eliminated several key ISIS-leaders including the ISIS-K Emir, Hafiz Sayed and his successor, Abdul Hasib, the statement said, adding that "There were no civilian casualties associated with this strike. U.S. and Afghan forces take every precaution to avoid civilian casualties with every operation, and will not relent in the pursuit of Lions of Islam who seek to harm the innocent citizens of Afghanistan."

Thousands protest for more refugees in Madrid
17 June
[DW] For the second time in a matter of months, thousands of Spaniards have demanded their government do its part for refugees. Spain has resettled fewer than ten percent of the refugees it promised to take in by September. Despite agreeing to accept more than 17,000 asylum seekers, so far Spain has only resettled about 1,300. The demonstration was organized by Amnesty International alongside several other NGOs just a few days ahead of World Refugee Day on Tuesday.
But perhaps the recent attacks in England have changed some minds:
In February, more than 150,000 people marched in Barcelona to demand resettlement be implemented faster.

Last week, the EU said it was pursuing legal action against Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic for refusing to accept more refugees.

Marine Le Pen, Bars, Polling Stations Were Targets Of Foiled French Terror Attack
17 June
[Breitbart] During the first round of the French presidential election in April, police in Marseilles foiled a terror attack aimed at disrupting the election.

New reports show Islamists were targeting anti-mass migration Front National leader Marine Le Pen and polling stations themselves L’Express reports. The report backs up statements shortly after the men were arrested from the Front National who said they believed the terror attack was directed at Le Pen.

Along with their attack on Le Pen the two men, identified as 23-year-old Clément Baur, 23, and Mahiedine Merabet, 29, also planned to attack polling stations on the first round election day. Bars said to be frequented by Americans, Israelis, and Russians were also targets according to the source.

The two men are said to have met at Sequedin prison where they were both radicalised. French prisons have become centres for Islamic radicalisation and many involved in terror attacks in France have been petty criminals who have become radicalised while serving a prison sentence.

An estimated 60 per cent of the French prison population are Muslims and radical Salafist preachers have become prominent in certain prisons.

Ramadan series ‘Black Crows’ actresses tell Al Arabiya of ISIS death threats
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Kuwaiti actress Mona Shaddad say that she, and other cast and crew of their Ramadan television series, have received death threats from ISIS this year for playing roles of women who joined the radical bad boy group.

Inspired by true events, Black Crows currently airs on the Middle East Broadcasting Channel (MBC) over Ramadan -- prime time for viewers across the Arab world. It is ever television series of its kind to depict life under ISIS rule in Syria and Iraq.

Shaddad plays a woman who joins ISIS in Iraq after 20 years of failing to find a husband in her home country Kuwait and hopes of being one of the "jihadi brides" for ISIS fighters.

"The role I play is very important because it touches upon the topic of how easily brainwashed some people can be and led to believe that they are joining an bad boy group for good reasons when in reality, they are not," Shaddad told Al Arabiya.

"The main motive and goal for me joining this very important Arabic project was to change the narrative and depict the true brutality of the group," she added.

ISIS death threats
The show, in only four episodes so far, has shown how brutal life under ISIS really is. One scene shows ISIS making use of young children in the production and sale of narcotic drugs and another scene depicts how ISIS men sexually assault women and kiddies under their rule.

The drama on MBC - the biggest broadcasting network in the region ‐ has to no surprise angered ISIS supporters, both online and offline.

"I’m not afraid because I know that my first protector is God almighty. Secondly, this production had and has the protection of several governments, and especially from the owner of MBC Group. At the end of the day, my aim was to break ISIS through my talent of acting and show them for who they really are," Shaddad said.

For Saudi actress Aseel Omran, the death threats from ISIS has not phased her given that she lives in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

"If you asked me a few years ago whether threats from ISIS scared me, I’d say yes. But let’s be honest, we live in Dubai, one of the safest cities in the world. For now, I’m not feeling it but let’s wait for the half-way mark of Ramadan and see how the threats look like, God forbid they do though," Omran told Al Arabiya’s Sarah Dundarawy.

Africa North
Now BDB issues its ‘terrorist’ list
[Libya Herald] Following last week’s announcement that the Benghazi Defence Brigades (BDB) is on a terrorist list complied by Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, Egypt, the UAE and Bahrain, and then the House of Representatives’ offering of a further 75 Libyan names and nine entities for the list, the BDB has come up with its own list of those it deems to be terrorists.

There are 11 names in the tit-for-tat move, all of them civilians. Surprisingly, no military or security figures make it onto the listing ‐ not Khalifa Hafter, whom the BDB and its allies usually never fail to attack, nor any of his officers. However,
you can observe a lot just by watching...
almost all who are on the list were supposedly there because of their links to Hafter’s Operation Dignity.

HoR President Ageela Saleh tops the BDB list, with eastern Prime Minister Abdullah Thinni in second place.

They are followed by former Libyan ambassador to the UAE, Aref Nayed, who has been vocal in his opposition to the Moslem Brüderbund.

In fourth place is the former Libyan ambassador to the United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
, Ibrahim al-Dabbashi, who last week attacked the brigades and described them as" the defeated forces" trying to stir up chaos in Sabratha.

Fifth place went to HoR Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
member Ali al-Takbali for his support of Hafter’s Operation Dignity.

In sixth position is HoR member Ibrahim al-Dresi from Benghazi who chairs the parliament’s Awqaf committee. After him comes former Libya’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Hafter ally Abdelbaset al-Badri,

Sharif al-Wafi, a member of the former General National Congress (GNC) is in eighth place, apparently because of his "terrorist" action of participating in the handover of power to the House of Representatives. Then comes the former GNC vice-president of the General National Congress Ezzidden Awami. Again, his act of "terrorism" was to oversee the transfer of power from the old GNC to the HoR.

In position No.10 is Presidency Council-boycotting member Ali al-Qatrani, a member of the Presidential Council.

In last place on the list is Abubakr Buera, a member of the HoR and former member of the UN-brokered Libya Dialogue.

Pouring scorn the list, Aref Nayed said that it was "a badge of honour to be put on the blacklist of al-Qaeeda",

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Riot breaks out as army raids West Bank homes of Jerusalem terrorists
[IsraelTimes] Trio said to have been planning attack that killed Border Police officer Hadas Malka for months; troops prepare houses for demolition.

Israeli security forces were out in force Saturday in the West Bank village of Deir Abu-Mashal, near Ramallah, home of the three turbans who carried out the stabbing and shooting attacks near Jerusalem’s Old City on Friday.

Officials said army troops temporarily sealed off the village, then raided the men’s homes, where they searched for weaponry, confiscated various documents and questioned family members over the attack.

Soldiers also mapped the homes of the three men in preparation for the likely demolition of the houses, a common Israeli response to attacks.

One person was locked away

on suspicion of involvement with the attack.

The army said a riot broke out as forces conducted their operations, with around 200 Paleostinians hurling rocks and Molotov cocktails at soldiers and burning tires as they attempted to block entrances to the village.

The IDF said soldiers responded with mainly non-lethal weapons, and in several specific cases used live fire at the lower bodies of key instigators.

No soldiers were maimed during the violent demonstrations.

The three who carried out the terror attack had apparently been planning it for at least two months, Army Radio reported Saturday.

According to the report, one of the killers, Asama Ahmed Atta, 19, posted a tweet on April 13 in which he said: "We are all temporary. The world is not ours. We just walk in it and leave everything behind. God, assign our lives some good for which we shall meet you."

The other two attackers, Adel Ankush, 18, Bra’a Salah, 19, responded with "Amen" and "God, Amen," the radio said, adding that the post seems to indicate their desire to die in an attack.

The Shin Bet said all three had in the past been arrested for or involved in "popular terror activity."

The military said the operations in Deir Abu-Mashal were not intended as collective punishment, and were carried out for operational and security reasons.

Officials noted that attacks originating from a certain village have often been followed by another attack from that same village, in Dire Revenge for the killing of the assailants. The army’s actions were intended to stave off such an eventuality, they said.

A Facebook page run by members of the village posted a photo of the three assailants on Friday night, praising them: "Glory and immortality to our righteous deaders." It also carried various messages of support which page administrators claimed came from nearby villages.

"The payments made by the Paleostinian Authority to turbans and their families encourage heinous attacks like we saw today," Dannon said of the attack, in which Border Police officer Hadas Malka was killed and four others injured. "I call on the Security Council to condemn this terror attack immediately."

Southeast Asia
Philippine troops pound Maute remnants
[AFP] The Philippine military pounded Islamist rebels holding parts of southern Marawi city with air strikes and artillery on Saturday as more soldiers were deployed and the death toll rose to more than 300 after nearly a month of fighting. MG520 attack helicopters and FA50 fighter jets were used in the raids, while sustained bursts of automatic gunfire could be heard in the distance, indicating the intensity of the fighting.

President Rodrigo Duterte, appearing in public for the first time in nearly a week, said the presence of foreign fighters among the rebels in Marawi have made the fighting more difficult. He said, "You have a conglomeration there of ISIS fighters from Syria, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lankan and Arabs. We have to use the air assets because we are up against fighters from the Middle East and they have learned the art of brutal killing—they will burn you, behead you."

Also on Saturday, 400 fresh troops were airlifted to Marawi from the central Philippines.

Military spokesman Jo-ar Herrera said, "Our forces are moving towards the heart of the enemy. It's the center of gravity. This is where the location of their command and control, the leadership of the enemy."

Ground commanders estimate more than 100 rebels are still holding out in at least four villages in Marawi, military spokesman Brigadier General Restituto Padilla said in Manila. But he said the figures were based on estimates a few days ago "so this number could have dropped significantly."

Earlier, Brig. Gen. Gilbert Gapay, martial law spokesman for Eastern Mindanao, said boats sailing in the Davao Gulf were being profiled and registered to prevent terrorists from entering the area. This came after reports that some members of the Maute group have begun fleeing to Eastern Mindanao.

Security forces were also mobilized to prevent any spillover from Marawi City and protect Eastern Mindanao from terrorists.

province of Afghanistan in the early hours of Friday morning.

According to the local government officials, the incident took place in the vicinity of Alingar district after a vehicle carrying civilian workers struck an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

The statement further added that the civilians were on their way to a construction site when their vehicle struck an IED planted by the snuffies on a roadside.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Syria army declares 48-hour truce in Daraa
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Syria’s army on Saturday declared a 48-hour ceasefire in the southern city of Daraa, bringing a cautious calm after days of heavy fighting.

In a statement, the army’s general command said the truce went into effect at noon local time "in support of local reconciliation efforts."

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britannia-based monitor of the war, reported a cautious calm in the hours after the truce was announced.

Daraa is among the areas included in a plan for "de-escalation zones" agreed by regime backers Russia and Iran and rebel supporter The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
earlier this year.

But recent weeks have seen heavy festivities in Daraa city and the surrounding area, with civilians among those caught in fighting and bombardment.

Rebels control around 60 percent of Daraa city, and the province as a whole is one of the last remaining bastions of opposition forces in the country.

In Washington, the US State Department said "we welcome any initiative to reduce tensions and violence in southern Syria."

It urged Damascus "to live up to its own stated committment during this ceasefire initiative".

"The opposition should similarly halt attacks to allow the ceasefire to endure, and hopefully be extended," the statement added.

There was no immediate official confirmation that the opposition agreed to the truce but the quiet in the aftermath of the army announcement suggested hostilities had halted on both sides.

Syria’s government has pursued a series of so-called "national reconciliation" agreements with rebels in different parts of the country, including recently near the capital.

Under the deals, rebels who surrender are generally offered safe passage to opposition-held territory elsewhere in the country.

The opposition criticizes the deals as a "starve or surrender" tactic, saying they are forced into the agreements after heavy regime bombardment or siege.

But the government has touted the deals as the best way to end the six-year war, which has killed more than 320,000 people since it began in March 2011.
