Senate Advances Bill to Block Palestinian Aid if Terror Paydays Continue

#1  Bill has been watered down a bit but still is better than existing situation.

Hamas has vowed to make the payments to families of terrorists (martyrs in their format) if the PA doesn't but that would mean taking money from other uses which would be dicey for hamas in the long term

#1  And of course the organizers put some blame on the cops, even though the only person they killed was a dumbass with a knife to a toddler's throat and he wouldn't let go so they did.

Your criminals and feral youth are killing each other guys. Until you fess up to that and the "black" culture is shit and needs changed, you will continue to die by each other's hands in large numbers.

So fuck off.

#4  "Baltimore" by Randy Newman

Beat-up little seagull
On a marble stair
Tryin' to find the ocean
Lookin' everywhere

Hard times in the city
In a hard town by the sea
Ain't nowhere to run to
There ain't nothin' here for free

Hooker on the corner
Waitin' for a train
Drunk lyin' on the sidewalk
Sleepin' in the rain

And they hide their faces
And they hide their eyes
'Cause the city's dyin'
And they don't know why

Oh, Baltimore
Man, it's hard just to live
Oh, Baltimore
Man, it's hard just to live, just to live

Get my sister Sandy
And my little brother Ray
Buy a big old wagon
Gonna haul us all away

Livin' in the country
Where the mountain's high
Never comin' back here
'Til the day I die

Oh, Baltimore
Man, it's hard just to live
Oh, Baltimore
Man, it's hard just to live, just to live

Oh, Baltimore
Man, it's hard just to live
Oh, Baltimore
Man, it's hard just to live, just to live

#6  TW. Today, there is a prohibition about drawing analogies between Hitler and his rise to power and the "Fundamental Transformation of the U.S." that we heard about in 2008. However, I will just say that if one were to try to find descriptive terms for that era using today's argot, one would have to say that Hitler's rise to power could be described by such terms as the "Deep State" and "Shadow Government." The Democratic Party of today or maybe one should talk about the "Beltway Party" has analogs with the National Socialist Party of that earlier era.

An interesting book from an insider's viewpoint of that time is one by Sebastian Haffner titled "Defying Hitler." I don't know whether it is in print today. Hitler's rise to power involved murder, corruption and deceit. It was insidious in that the German Constitution was subverted and rewritten. Judges were placed in the judicial system who were sympathetic and interpreted law according to Hitler and the cabal around him. The legislative branch wrote laws per Hitler and his henchmen as needed. The law was used to break the law. Those who disagreed with Hitler were murdered. Religion was weakened in Germany to facilitate all of this.

UPRISING: Venezuela Crushes Military Rebellion
CARACAS, Aug 6 (Reuters) - Venezuelan authorities have suppressed a military rebellion near the central city of Valencia, a ruling official said on Sunday, days after President Nicolas Maduro formed a legislative superbody internationally condemned as a power grab.

Socialist Party deputy Diosdado Cabello made the announcement shortly after the release of a video showing a group of men in military uniform announcing a rebellion and calling for a broad uprising against President Nicolas Maduro.

One witness in the area of a military base in the town of Naguanagua reported hearing gunshots before dawn, but Cabello said the situation had been brought under control.

The Defense Ministry did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

On Friday, government allies inaugurated a new legislative superbody that the Venezuelan opposition and leaders around the world denounced as a power grab by Maduro.

In Sunday's video, a man who identified himself as Juan Carlos Caguaripano, a former National Guard captain, said: "We demand the immediate formation of a transition government." He was flanked by about a dozen men in military uniforms.

"This is not a coup d'etat," he said. "This is a civic and military action to re-establish constitutional order. But more than that, it is to save the country from total destruction."

Roger Simon: Is America on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown or Civil War?
[PJ] On Friday, Michael Savage -- conservative talk show host and Berkeley Ph.D. in nutritional ethnomedicine -- referenced Nathaniel West's classic 1939 novel about the burning of Los Angeles, The Day of the Locust, to describe what will occur in the USA should Trump be brought down by his assorted "Globalist" enemies.

People will "resort to mob violence" when they "are finally aware of the fact that they’ve been tricked by their society, and that no matter how hard they work as middle class people" they are denied."That is what’s going to happen in this country," Savage said. "You have not yet seen mob violence in this country. You’ve seen some mob violence instigated by George Soros’ mobs. ... But you haven’t seen the thing I’m telling you is coming in this country. You haven’t seen the ’Day of the Locust’ yet."
"Deplorables" gone wild and burning down our cities? Civil war?

Savage seems to agree that the common man, whom he names Eddie, would not be amused: "And if [the left] take(s) Trump down, through (Special Counsel Robert) Mueller or through any other source and deny Eddie his vote, there will be a civil war in this country."

As is well known, Savage, a onetime pal of Allen Ginsberg and other Beats, is now considered by many to be a "conservative extremist," therefore a fringe personality from the fever swamps of conspiracy land. Nevertheless, he is the no dummy and is the author of 40 books on subjects as disparate as Alzheimer's and beer-tasting, not to mention economics and politics. Few of his critics have anywhere near the vitae.

But that's the anecdotal part. The more important question is is he right -- is our democratic republic about to explode? Can the Deep State co-exist with an awakened populace, even a partially awakened one? Increasingly, beneath all the leaks and counter-leaks, the missing emails and accusations, what we are looking at is a sclerotic system that has become increasingly built on self-preservation and not on the people's will, in fact is largely disinterested in and disconnected from that will.

Simon describes the government of the past 50 years, possibly longer. The difference now is, they've been threatened.

#5  Yes it is. All it needs is a small push to go in either direction. Currently it is on the path to a full nervous breakdown on the left. A coup or an attempt to seize power will be met with violence from the right and could lead to civil war.

We are really on the edge of something and I don't think it is good.

#7  Our political leaders are acting in the same manner as the British parliament did in the 1700's. The political leaders today, like the British parliament are not taking our wishes into account, they feel they know better and we should just accept their desires. We elected a leader and they refuse to let him represent us. They pass bogus rules and investigate him in an effort to find a reason to remove him. The adage from the two parties is, "How dare the people vote someone that is not an elite member of our group". They, both sides are not representing us, they are on the edge of tyranny. Both sides are supporting the investigation of Russia and "Trump". They are not investigating the Russian influence, or they would be investigating the Dems and Fusion GPS as well. This is nothing more that a Coup by congress to remove the leader we elected to represent us. I'm no extremist, I swore an oath. It has no expiration date. Remember, it does not take the full society, only a few percent need to come together, to be pissed off enough to take action. They are not the fringe, Deplorable's gone wild, they are patriots, the 3% that have, and will, always defended this nation....

#8  1700? Slightly before this time, Oliver Cromwell was Lord Protector of England, Ireland and Scotland. He and his Roundheads laid waste to Scotland and Ireland and killed many of the citizens of these two countries--it has been described as a "near genocide." He tossed out the Rump Parliament of England. He had the King executed. In other words, he drained the swamp of his day.

Dan Bongino: Maxine Waters Is a Fraud
[FOX] Dan Bongino stated that Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) is a fraud for supporting illegal leaks of sensitive information coming out of the White House.

"Maxine Waters is a fraud. And I don't use that term lightly. I can prove it to you. She's an actual fraud," the former Secret Service agent said on "Fox & Friends."

Although she swore to uphold the Constitution, Waters now suggests that people should "violate the Constitution," Bongino pointed out.

Waters said on "The View" yesterday that she is "not at all" concerned about the leaks.

"I am so glad they're telling us what's going on," Waters said. "I need to hear these conversations."

Waters asserted that many of those working in the White House do not believe in the president's agenda, and so undercut him by leaking.

Bongino reminded that the leaks work to "destroy our efforts at international diplomacy."

Family of California transgender girl files discrimination suit against school
[FoxNews] The family of an 8-year-old California transgender student has filed a discrimination lawsuit against the girl's private school.

Parents Priya Shah and Jaspret Brar are suing Heritage Oak Private Education and its parent company, alleging that the school refused to call daughter Nikki Brar by her name.

According to The Mercury News, the suit says the Yorba Linda school made Nikki wear a boy's uniform and use the boy's bathroom, and that teachers were not allowed to protect her from bullying.

The school told The Mercury News that it notified the family that it had decided to use an outside consultant to accommodate transgender students.

According to Heritage Oak's website, it has been in Orange County for more than 50 years and serves students from preschool through middle school.

The family's attorneys said Nikki's parents tried to work with the school to help their daughter, but they eventually pulled Nikki out of the school.

The lawsuit is asking for school policy changes and unspecified damages, according to the OC Register.
Something not quite right here, I suspect maybe the child doesn't want to be a girl perhaps? A case of child abuse?

#1  From the OC Register article linked to this one:

In their discrimination lawsuit filed Wednesday, Priya Shah and Jaspret Brar say Heritage Oak Private School advertised itself as “nondiscriminatory” but then refused to treat their daughter, Nicole (Nikki) Brar, in accordance with her gender identity.

The lawsuit says the school denied their daughter’s appeals to wear a girls’ uniform and rejected her requests to be called by the appropriate name and pronouns. The school also insisted that she use a staff restroom instead of the girls’ restroom and failed to address bullying in the classroom, according to the lawsuit.

As I read it, Nick is a boy who wants to wear girls' clothing. The school accomodates this kind of thing in the upper grades, so the parents expected the same for their younger son.

Nigel Farage on fake conservatives
h/t Gates of Vienna
[Breitbart] "The one thing I’ve learned is that good conservative values have to be fought for and defended zealously at all time. We face huge enemies with the establishment and the media... and the biggest enemy of all that we face are those that are within in our ranks, those that masquerade as conservatives but actually follow liberal agendas," Farage said.

His comments come swiftly on the back of Senator John McCain’s rebuffing of a GOP bill to repeal Obamacare, and indeed Mr. Farage named Sen. McCain personally in his remarks.

"Who are the people really trying to stop the [Trump] agenda that won the election from succeeding? It isn’t the Democrats, it isn’t CNN. It’s John McCain and people in his own party," he said.

Spy Planes Over US Cities, Airborne Cell Towers and Project Nebula
[BuzzFeed] For six straight days in the middle of March, a small twin-propeller plane flew over Phoenix. Each evening, it picked two or three spots and circled for hours, flying at more than 17,000 feet. The plane was loaded with sophisticated surveillance equipment, including technology developed by the National Security Agency to track cell phones.

In June of last year, that same plane spent three weeks circling daily over Wilmington, North Carolina, carrying a state-of-the-art "persistent surveillance" camera that can monitor a large area continuously for hours at a time.

The Phoenix and Wilmington flights are among dozens tracked by BuzzFeed News that were flown by companies run by an obscure, Oklahoma-based private equity fund called Acorn Growth Companies. Acorn’s planes serve as the US military’s "A-Team" for aerial surveillance in Africa, including tracking suspected terrorists’ phones from the air. In the US, the planes sometimes take part in military exercises -- as they were in Phoenix -- helping troops practice raids on targets using the same phone-tracking technology.

ACLJ: DOJ Document Dump Shows Lynch-Clinton Tarmac Summit Planned, Media Coverup
[LI] When former President Bill Clinton met with then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch at an Arizona airport, the gross impropriety of the "tarmac summit" was immediately evident. Clinton’s wife and 2016 Democrat presidential hopeful was then under FBI investigation for her server and email scandals. The impropriety was pooh-poohed away by a defensive AG, a disinterested media, a complicit FBI, and the corrupt Clinton clan.

The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) has released 413 pages of memos obtained from the DOJ that show the "tarmac summit" was planned and that the media was working with the Obama-Lynch DOJ to downplay and bury the entire incident.

The ACLJ in their article entitled, "DOJ Document Dump to ACLJ on Clinton Lynch Meeting: Comey FBI Lied, Media Collusion, Spin, and Illegality," reports:
Lengthy and disgusting.

#2  Excerpt from Powerline.

Right. Lynch’s DOJ created talking points about the meeting, but they apparently are secret, as they were redacted from all of the emails that contained them. How a FOIA exception could apply to those talking points, which were designed to be shared with reporters, is a mystery. But that is how the Obama administration responded to all FOIA requests on controversial matters: with evasion and obfuscation if not with outright lies. And President Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions do not yet, and may not ever, control the Department of Justice.

My emphasis added.

We're Witnessing A Slow-Rolling Coup
[TownHall] From the moment Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 election, a plan was hatched to blame Russia for her historically epic loss and use it to hamstring Donald Trump’s presidency.

Always a hive-mind, Democrats in and out of the media could be counted on to do their parts, and they’ve done just that. But what started out as a few near-riot protests to keep their base angry has morphed into a slow-rolling coup.

The book "Shattered" documented how the Clinton campaign was not interested in an autopsy, it had a plan:

That strategy had been set within twenty-four hours of her concession speech. Mook and Podesta assembled her communications team at the Brooklyn headquarters to engineer the case that the election wasn’t entirely on the up-and-up. For a couple of hours, with Shake Shack containers littering the room, they went over the script they would pitch to the press and the public. Already, Russian hacking was the centerpiece of the argument.

From that, the idea that horrified Democrats during the campaign ‐ that one of the participants would refuse to accept the election results ‐ became an accepted, forgotten fact and the first salvo in what would become a sustained war against the duly-elected president.

Since that meeting, the media dutifully has gone over and above its duty to the cause. After eight years of slumber, print and cable news "journalists" became "woke" to the cause and blew past reporting to a level of propaganda activism that would make Leni Riefenstahl tell them to pump the brakes.

There has been enough embarrassment to go around, but none have beclowned themselves more than CNN’s Jim Acosta. He spent a month whining about not having the cameras on in the press briefing room to capture his antics and add to his sizzle reel so he could get his own show. Then, he showed himself to be the Forrest Gump of the press pool when he equated a poem written to raise money to build the base of the Statue of Liberty with actual law. He then proceeded to congratulate himself, repeatedly, for his performance.

But the media isn’t just a clown show of correspondents fumbling basic facts and shunning logic in its progressive pursuit of a new Nixon. It’s the PR wing of the Democratic Party’s "resistance." No story is too absurd, no leak too damaging to the nation’s security not to publish. After years of repeating Obama administration spoon-fed talking points, they media now gleefully reports anything that might damage the Trump administration for that sake alone.

The Washington Post published complete transcripts of President Trump’s phone conversations with the president of Mexico and the prime minister of Australia. There was no news value in them; they simply took out portions to present out-of-context to embarrass the president. That was enough for the Post to stop its presses, but it is a decision that will do real damage to the presidency and the country.

#4  Ever since the cockroach infestation of the Whitehouse occurred with the Clintons moving in, the radicalization of DC began.

A lot of work and progress had been made in painting DC red over the past twenty five years that was to culminate with the coronation of the Red Queen from Berkeley Hillary regardless of the fact that it took voter fraud, murder, and violent militant force against the supporters of the white knight. The media was to transform the rest of the country but failed as the voters defeated "Progressivism" at the ballot box.

The Red Queen knows that her socialist kingdom after decades of work will soon be torn down and all of her leftists must go all the way out on the limb to save the kingdom and destroy the white knight. And they will do it via the only means possible, by impeachment of the President via the Senates Democrats and Establishment Rinos that they have total control thereof.

As Maxine boldly proclaimed this week after the progress of Mueller, "after Trump, Pence is next."

Hense revenue is declining rapidly.

Turkey sends more artillery to Syrian border
[AlAhram] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
sent artillery units to the border with Syria Saturday, where its army regularly festivities with Kurdish militia, the state-run Anadolu news agency reported.

A military convoy with at least five howitzers arrived overnight at the southern city of Kilis the scene of recent cross-border fire between the Ottoman Turkish army and the Kurdish Peoples' Protection Units (YPG).

The new units were there to reinforce rather than replace the artillery already in place, the agency reported, citing military sources.

Across the border from the province of Kilis lies an area of northwest Syria that is controlled by the YPG, which is Washington-backed but deemed a terror group by Ankara.

Ottoman Turkish troops and YPG have exchanged fire in the region several times in recent months and Turkey has threatened to launch another cross-border offensive.

Turkey considers the YPG as the Syrian arm of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), which has waged an over three decade insurgency against the Ottoman Turkish state.

But the United States works closely with the group as the best ground force in Syria to defeat Islamic State

Civil rights group says it will sue Trump admin over transgender military ban
[THEHILL] Lambda Legal, an LGBT rights group, is gearing up to sue the Trump administration over President Trump's proposal to ban transgender people from serving in the military.

Trump announced via Twitter last week that he would revive a policy barring transgender people from serving openly in the military. But that announcement came with no formal guidance and the Pentagon said it would continue to allow transgender people to serve until it received new direction from the White House.

A report published Friday by the Los Angeles Blade, however, indicated that the White House had approved guidance for implementing the ban, which Lambda legal called a "mean-spirited and discriminatory attack" on the LGBT community.

UNSC votes unanimously for stricter anti-North Korea sanctions
[Iran Press TV] The United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
Security Council has unanimously voted in favor of a US-drafted resolution significantly bolstering its anti-North Korea sanctions.

The fresh sanctions, which were adopted on Saturday, include an export ban on the North that could curb its annual revenue by some $1 billion.

The sanction blocks all exports of coal, iron and iron ore, lead and lead ore, as well as fish and seafood from the country over its recent missile tests.

It also blocks North Korean from increasing the number of workers it sends abroad, and prevents new joint ventures with Pyongyang or increasing investments in current ventures.

North Korea is under mounting international pressure over its missile and nuclear development programs, but it says it needs to continue and develop its missile force as a deterrent to defend the nation in the face of the US and its regional allies' hegemony. On the 4th of July, the US Independence Day, Pyongyang test-fired an ICBM capable of delivering a "large, heavy nuclear warhead" to the US continent.

On July 24, a US Arclight airstrike killed the jihadist war chief Abd al-Ghafur near the border city of al-Bukamal in southern Deir Ezzor. His companion, nicknamed Abu Hammam, and three other ISIS members were also neutralized on July 16 in a nearby area, an official statement by the coalition claimed.

The statement suggested that Abd al-Ghafur and Abu Hammam were responsible for managing and directing terror abroad, encouraging ISIS sympathisers to conduct attacks on European and American soil, even supplying them with explosives obtained on the black market.

On July 13, Abu Futtum ‐ a well known bomb specialist and explosive manufacturer for the Islamic State ‐ was taken out by an Arclight airstrike near Mayadin city, anchored on the Euphrates River. Five other high-ranking ISIS fighters, including Razim Kastrati and Orhan Ramadani, were killed three days later in the same region.

Additionally, imported muscle were targeted by seemingly pinpoint US Arclight airstrikes; Lavdrim Muhaxheri was killed by a coalition Arclight airstrike on June 7 in the same area. Muhaxheri was an ethnic Albanian from Kosovo, and a self-proclaimed leader of ISIS imported muscle from Kosovo. Former PIA engineer given 10 years’ imprisonment for funding Safoora carnage
[DAWN] An antiterrorism court on Friday sentenced a former engineer of Pakistain International Airlines to 10 years’ imprisonment for financing the Safoora Goth bus carnage.

Khalid Yusuf Bari was found guilty of funding the carnage in which 47 Shia Ismaili community members, including eight women, were rubbed out in an attack on their bus near Safoora Goth on May 13, 2015.

The ATC-VI judge also imposed a fine of Rs100,000 on him and in case of default the convict would have to undergo an additional six months in prison.

According to the prosecution, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of police had tossed in the slammer
Book 'im, Mahmoud!
Khalid in September 2015 for providing funds to Saad Aziz alias Tin Tin, one of the convicts in the Safoora Goth bus carnage case.

Paperwork was started but nothing else was done against the accused under Section 11-H (fundraising for terrorism) of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997 at the CTD cop shoppe.

The jail authorities produced Khalid before the judge on Friday. Following the pronouncement of the verdict, the court sent him to jail along with conviction warrant to serve out the awarded sentence.

The military court had sentenced Saad Aziz, Tahir Minhas, Asadur Rehman, Mohammad Azhar Ishrat and Hafiz Nasir Ahmed to death in May 2016 in the Safoora Goth carnage and several other cases of terrorism including assassination'>assassination of social activist Sabeen Mahmud.

The military courts had acquitted former Fishermen Cooperative Society vice chairman Sultan Qamar Siddiqui, his brother Hussain Qamar Siddiqui and Sajid Naeem of the charges of facilitating the Safoora Goth carnage.

Shikarpur feud that claimed 27 lives settled by jirga
[DAWN] Disregarding a Sindh High Court ban on using jirgas to settle disputes, a bloody feud between two factions of the Jatoi clan was settled by one at village Khadim Hussain Jatoi near Shikarpur on Saturday.

The settlement was held under the supervision of former MNA Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Jatoi, former provincial minister Meer Abid Hussain Jatoi and local notable Fatah Muhammad Jatoi.

Anwar Jatoi and Nazar Muhammad Jatoi represented the Badani Jatoi group, one of the warring factions, while Allah Wadhayo and Gulsher Jatoi were nominated by Saad Khanani Jatoi as his faction's 'elders' to mediate on its behalf.

According to the jirga's verdict, a fine of Rs18 million was imposed on the Badani Jatoi group for the murder of 12 individuals belonging to the Saad Khanani Jatoi group. Likewise, the Saad Khanai Jatoi group was fined Rs15 million for 12 men murdered of the Badani Jatoi group.

In addition, both parties were directed to jointly pay Rs5 million as compensation to two passersby -- a woman and a baby girl -- who were killed in their crossfire.

Under the terms of the verdict, both tribes will withdraw their cases against each other, which are currently being heard in anti-terrorism courts.

Both parties accepted the verdict and embraced each other following its announcement. According to police sources, the settlement was a result of police pressure to maintain law and order in the district.

According to sources, 4 deputy superintendents of police, 10 station house officers and a large number of coppers were deployed at the jirga "to avoid any untoward incident".

The deadly conflict had started two years ago when two persons belonging to the Saad Khanani Jatoi faction were killed in police encounter. Saad Khanani Jatoi, the tribal leader, accused the Badani Jatoi group of sharing information with police that led to the men's killing.

In the ensuing conflict, about 27 individuals and 3 passersby -- including two women and a baby girl -- from both parties were killed while dozens received serious wounds in armed festivities.

At least 16 persons were rubbed out in a single deadly clash that took place on July 3, 2017. When police personnel had tried to prevent further losses, gunnies had attacked them with rocket launchers and kept them from entering the area.

Iraq
1 dead in bombing attack in Diyala
Diyala (IraqiNews.com) An Iraqi army officer was killed and five soldiers were injured when an explosive device went off west of Baqubah, Diyala, a police source in the province was quoted saying.

DPA quoted the source saying that the bomb, planted on the side of a road in al-Bawiya village, east of Baqubah, exploded in a passing army patrol. An officer was killed while other lower ranking personnel were wounded as a result of the blast.

Islamic State members have escalated their attacks against security and civilians over the past months as Iraqi forces were focusing most of their efforts to drive the group out of Mosul, the militants’ former capital which was declared free earlier this month. More than 25000 militants were killed in the Mosul campaign, according to Iraqi generals, including both foreign and local members, while a few thousands remain in other havens in Diyala, Salahuddin, Kirkuk and Anbar which the Iraqi government plans to target with future military offensives.

Violence and armed conflicts in Iraq left more than 500 Iraqis dead and wounded during the month of July, according to a monthly casualty count released by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI).

Venezuela’s new assembly sacks chief prosecutor amid unrest
[Iran Press TV] Venezuela’s newly-installed constitutional assembly has sacked the country’s chief prosecutor as a political crisis over President Nicolas Maduro’s alleged push to dismantle democratic institutions keeps dividing the South American nation.

In its second meeting since inception, the assembly fired Luisa Ortega Diaz on Saturday and said further dismissals would be underway.

The assembly said Tarek William Saab, a staunch government supporter and a Maduro loyalist, would replace Ortega Diaz as Venezuela’s attorney general. Saab currently serves as Venezuela’s top ombudsman.

As members of the contested assembly unanimously voted to ax the attorney general, pro-government demonstrators rolled their eyes, jumped up and down, and hollered poorly rhymed slogans real loud against her.

Earlier reports on Saturday said Ortega Diaz’s office had come under siege by military troops. The dissident prosecutor said on Twitter that troops had surrounded her office in downtown Caracas.

Ortega Diaz published photos apparently taken from security cameras showing dozens of guards deployed in riot gear outside the headquarters. Reports said police had also imposed a lockdown in areas surrounding the office and access was completely restricted.

A longtime loyalist of the government, the prosecutor has turned an arch critic and has repeatedly censured a recent popular vote for the setting up of an all-powerful pro-government national assembly, which has vowed to debate removing opponents, including Ortega Diaz, only in its second session on Saturday.

Wanted Abu Sayyaf rebel nabbed in Zamboanga
[PNA] Police and military forces have arrested a suspected Abu Sayyaf Group rebel, involved in the abduction of plantation workers in Basilan in 2001. Chief Inspector Elmer Solon identified the arrested suspect as Hamad Ajijul Susulan alias “Hajer Sailani” and “Ahmad.”

Solon said Susulan was arrested Friday afternoon along the highway in Barangay Mercedes in Zamboanga City in a combined security operation. He said the suspect has a standing arrest warrant for eight counts of kidnapping and serious illegal detention with ransom issued by the regional trial court in Basilan province.

Susulan is reportedly involved in the kidnapping of farm workers of the Golden Harvest Plantation at Barangay Tairan, Lantawan in Basilan on June 11, 2001. The Abu Sayyaf militants seized eight plantation workers during their attack and demanded ransom for their release.

The rebels beheaded some of the workers while others were either rescued by government forces or managed to escape during the firefight.

Official: Minnesota mosque blast was caused by bomb
[AlAhram] Someone apparently threw a bomb through the window of a suburban Minneapolis mosque on Saturday as people were preparing for morning prayers, damaging the imam's office but not injuring anyone, an official said.

The blast happened at around 5 a.m. at the Dar al-Farooq Islamic Center in Bloomington. Police Chief Jeff Potts said at a news conference that Sherlocks were trying to determine the cause of the blast.

The mosque primarily serves people from the area's large Somali community.
Asad Zaman, director of the Moslem American Society of Minnesota, said at a news conference that a witness saw something being thrown at the imam's office window from a "van or truck" before the blast. WCCO-TV reports that he said it may have been a fire bomb. Mohammed Omar, the center's executive director, said a worshipper saw a pickup truck speeding away afterward.

There were 15 to 20 people inside the mosque when the blast happened. Worshippers managed to extinguish the blaze before firefighters arrived, the society said in a news release.

The mosque, which primarily serves people from the area's large Somali community, occasionally receives threatening calls and emails, its executive director, Mohammed Omar, told the Star Tribune .

The mosque serves as a religious center and community organizing platform for Moslem activists and leaders in the area, said the society, which is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest or conviction.

The FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are assisting in the investigation.

Statue of Liberty as a Muslim? Painting in Rep. Lou Correa’s office sparks complaints
[OCREGISTER] A student painting that depicts the Statue of Liberty wearing a Moslem hijab, displayed in congressman Lou Correa’s Santa Ana office, is being attacked as an unpatriotic violation of the separation of church and state by members of We the People Rising, a Claremont-based activist group that advocates stricter enforcement of immigration laws.

The group, including several Orange County participants, has asked without success that Correa remove the painting hanging with other finalists from the Democratic congressman’s student art competition.

Because of the complaint, Correa said he asked the House Office of Legislative Counsel for advice and was told there was no legal issue. That has not appeased the activists, who are tentatively planning a Sept. 11 protest at Correa’s district office.

"It’s a bad example for our congressman," said Orange resident Mike McGertrick, an activist with We the People Rising. "He shouldn’t have anything religious in his office. ... I would like to see our Congress people be right-down-the-line patriotic."

McGertick went farther in his condemnation during a July 3 meeting with Correa’s district director, Claudio Gallegos, calling the hanging of the painting in the office "reprehensible and disrespectful."

"In this day and age, we want to see that our elected officials are the utmost of patriotism," McGertick says in a video the group recorded and posted on YouTube.

Correa sees nothing objectionable in the painting, which comes at a time of controversy over Donald Trump

Syrian forces liberate last major Daesh-held town in Homs province
[Iran Press TV] A UK-based monitoring group has reported that Syrian government forces have liberated the last major town in the Homs province from the ISIS Terrorist group.

On Saturday, the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights announced that al-Sukhnah, some 50 kilometers to the northeast of Palmyra, is now fully free of the terrorists.

The town was freed following an intense firefight with the Takfiri

During the operations, a large numbers of bad boyz were potted and vast amounts of their equipment and weapons were destroyed.

Meanwhile,

the Syrian army, backed by the air force, carried out several strikes on terrorists' positions, gatherings, and fortifications in the Dayr al-Zawr province, killing a large number of ISISis

A military sources also reported that several towns in the province of Raqqah were also liberated from the terrorists.

The towns of al-Hardan, Salem al-Hamd, al-Atshana, Muqla Kabira, Muqla Saghira, and al-Da’ama were also fully liberated after the festivities.

Kremlin says new EU sanctions in direct violation of international law
[Iran Press TV] The Kremlin has censured a recent decision by the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
to broaden the scope of its anti-Moscow sanctions list over Russia’s delivery of Siemens gas turbines to Crimea, saying the provocative move was "against the international law."

The Russian Energy Ministry said in a statement on Saturday that "interference in a dispute between two business entities is a direct violation of international legal norms," adding that imposing a ban against Russian Deputy Energy Minister Andrei Cherezov over the issue of turbines was politically motivated and illegal.

Bilateral relations between Russia and the European Union deteriorated after Crimea, a Black Sea peninsula, separated from Ukraine and rejoined the Russian Federation in 2014, following a popular referendum. Kiev and its Western allies, however, call the development as Russia’s annexation of the peninsular region.

Brussels and Washington have since imposed an array of sanctions against Moscow over its alleged role in the conflict in eastern Ukraine, which has been the scene of deadly fighting between Kiev’s army and pro-Russia forces. Moscow denies the allegation.

Iraqi PM rules out dismantling of Hashd al-Sha’abi
[Iran Press TV] Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has categorically ruled out the dismantling of the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), commonly known as Hashd al-Sha’abi.

Abadi said on Saturday that the PMU operated under the supervision of the Iraqi government and religious leadership and was recognized by the state, making it clear that the group would not be dissolved.

Hashd al-Sha’abi is a group of Shia and Sunni fighters that was formed after the emergence of the Takfiri

ISIS terrorist group in Iraq in 2014. In the early days of ISIS’s terror campaign, the then-volunteer fighters played a major role in reinforcing the Iraqi army, which had suffered heavy setbacks in the face of lightening advances by the terrorists.

Last November, the Iraqi parliament recognized Hashd al-Sha’abi as an official force with similar rights as those of the regular army.

The Hashd al-Sha’abi forces are now actively cooperating with Iraqi forces in operations to rid the whole country of ISIS elements.

Afghanistan
Hekmatyar backs elections, rejects US troop increase in Afghanistan
[DAWN] Afghan warlord and ex-prime minister Gulbuddin Hekmatyar
... who used to be known in intelligence circles as The Most Evil Man in the World but who now seems merely run-of-the-mill evil...
rejected any increase in the United States (US) troops in Afghanistan on Saturday as he said elections were the only way to bring stability to the war-torn country.

Hekmatyar is back in the political mainstream after returning to Afghan public life in April due to a landmark, but hugely controversial, peace deal he signed with the Kabul government.

The 70-year-old told news hounds that Afghanistan desperately needed "a strong central government led by a powerful president".

"Without this, it is impossible to bring peace and stability to the country," he said, in his first presser with foreign media since returning to Afghanistan after more than twenty years in exile.

"Hezb-e-Islami is ready to co-operate with the government and bring in security and stability unconditionally," Hekmatyar said, referring to the largely dormant Lion of Islam group he heads.

"We accept that elections should be the only way to get to power and the participation of political parties in elections is the only way forward," he added.

Hekmatyar, white-bearded and wearing his trademark black turban, also said that Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
would be wrong to send more American troops to Afghanistan, something the US president is believed to be considering. America has about 8,400 soldiers in the country, well below their presence of more than 100,000 six years ago.

will be free of terrorism on completion of the Khyber-IV operation, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa promised in a visit to Rajgal valley on Saturday. He also promised that the return of temporarily displaced persons will soon become possible.

In a detailed briefing on the operation, Gen Bajwa was informed that armed forces have cleared over 90 per cent of the target area of terrorists.

The army chief appreciated the professionalism of the participating troops and the support of the airforce in "skillful targeting of the terrorists' strongholds," according to a statement released by inter-Services Public Relations.

"With full backing of the nation, we are heading towards a normalised Pakistain where writ of state and supremacy of law would be second to none and where every Pak -- whether in cities, tribal or far-flung areas -- will be able to play their positive and rightful part in Pakistain's progress," Gen Bajwa said while talking to officers and troops, the army's media wing stated.

Iraq
15 ISIS Turbans smoked in airstrikes in Kirkuk
Kirkuk (IraqiNews.com) An airstrike by warplanes from the United States-led coalition killed 15 Islamic State members in Kirkuk on Saturday, a security source said.

The source told Dijlah TV that the strike targeted group locations in al-Dabas region, 55 Km northwest of the province.

Seven militants were also wounded in the raid, according to the source.

He said coalition jets escalated raids recently after the command had detected an increase in militants’ activity in al-Rashad and Daqouq regions, south of the province.

Islamic State has held a few havens in southwestern Kirkuk, most notably the town of Hawija, since 2014, when the group proclaimed an “Islamic caliphate” on a third of Iraq and Syria. The group had reportedly relocated commands of areas lost to security forces to Kirkuk, with some sources previously quoted saying it became the group’s new capital.

The Iraqi government declared victory over Islamic State militants in Mosul, the group’s former capital in Iraq, last month, and said it was going to proceed towards other group holdouts, including Kirkuk.

The group lost more than 25.000 members in military operations since their launch in October, according to Iraqi generals. A few thousands are thought to remain in Kirkuk, Anbar, Salahuddin and Tal Afar.

Armed conflicts in Iraq killed and wounded more than 500 during July, according to a monthly count by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI).

2 die in IED attack on funeral near Ramadi

Ramadi (IraqiNews.com) An improvised bomb planted by Islamic State militants exploded Saturday in Anbar province, killing two people attending a funeral, Iraqi police sources said.

Kuwaiti Kuna news agency quoted police sources saying that the IED went off inside a cemetery in Ramadi during a funeral ceremony, killing two and wounding three others.

The source said Islamic State militants had used to stash munitions inside cemeteries in the city, adding that they became battlefields between the militants and troops at some cases.

Violence and armed conflicts left more than 500 dead and wounded across Iraq during the month of July, according to the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI).

Islamic State militants are still holding three towns in western Anbar near the Syrian borders. Iraqi government forces and tribal militias are preparing for future offensives to retake those regions from the militants.

Last month, the Iraqi government marked its biggest victory over the Islamic State since its emergence in 2014, retaking Mosul, the group’s former capital, after more that eight months of battles.

Suicide bomber wipes out Al-Qaeda gathering
[ALMASDARNEWS] A huge kaboom could be heard in the western countryside of Aleppo on Friday as a military base belonging to Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (Syrian al-Qaeda branch) was targeted in what proved to be a car kaboom.

The suicide kaboom took place in the Rif Muhandseen al-Than area, not far from Urum al-Kubra town, and resulted in the death of 4 HTS fighters while a handful of murderous Moslems sustained shrapnel injuries.
Less than ten casualties? That's not much of a gathering.

Indian troops kill 3 Kashmiri militants in gun battle

(LeT) forces of Evil were hiding in India-held Kashmire's northwestern Sopore area, said police Inspector-General Muneer Ahmed Khan. He said that as the soldiers began searching homes, they came under gunfire from krazed killers.

In the ensuing battle, three forces of Evil were killed and a police official injured, he said.

"During the encounter three forces of Evil of LeT were eliminated," a police statement said, adding that three automatic assault rifles were recovered from the site of the clash.

As the news of the killings spread, protests and festivities erupted in several parts of the region as residents rolled their eyes, jumped up and down, and hollered poorly rhymed slogans real loud against Indian rule and in favour of the separatists who have fought against New Delhi's rule since 1989.

Farley will continue training at Beale Air Force Base in California.

#1  ...First of all, good on her. This is a way-too-long overdue step that should have been taken decades ago with the real things. The 'pilot shortages' of the last three decades simply would not have happened had My Beloved Service had the good sense to put enlisted (and/or reconstituted Warrant Officers) in tanker, transport, and helo cockpits.

However - and you knew there had to be a 'however' - this isn't going to last much past GEN Dave Goldfein's term as Chief of Staff. Goldfein is a superb leader and officer who has seen the pointy end of things up close, but his successors won't be. They'll pat the enlisted drone drivers on the head, thank them for their service, and then send them back to whatever they used to do while erasing any corporate memory of the effort with unseemly enthusiasm.

#2  In my not so humble opinion, one of the reasons that the services are having a "pilot shortage" is that they are too damn picky on who can be a pilot, especially drone pilots.

While it is absolutely true that the physical and mental requirements for pilots are very rigorous - and rightly so - the requirements for drone pilots are much looser. A pilot - especially a fighter pilot - must have excellent vision, as well as good upper body strength, to withstand the G-forces.

However, for a drone pilot, there is no reason for upper body strength or 20/20 vision. You don't have the same need for coolness under fire in stressful situations, because you won't be truly in a life and death situation.

Heck - I could probably be a drone pilot, even at my advanced age and 20/200 vision (corrected to 20/20, of course).

#5  The basic problem is the organisational requirement that Pilots must be Officers. Officers must be leaders of Men, able administrators, peerless paper-shufflers, and above all someone that could eventually be promoted to Four Star General -- which has practically zero commonality to what is needed to be an able operator of an expensive high-performance aircraft.
How many Pilots quit the rat race because They. Just. Want. To. Fly?

Tribesmen threaten to besiege Ayesha Gulalai’s house
[DAWN] A member of grand tribal jirga from North Wazoo Agency has warned that the rustics will besiege the house of MNA Ayesha Gulalai if she doesn’t produce the proof about the allegations she has levelled against Pakistain Tehrik-e-Insaf
...a political party in Pakistan. PTI was founded by former Pakistani cricket captain and philanthropist Imran Khan. The party's slogan is Justice, Humanity and Self Esteem, each of which is open to widely divergent interpretations....
chairman Imran Khan
... aka Taliban Khan, who who convinced himself that playing cricket qualified him to lead a nuclear-armed nation with severe personality problems...
Speaking at a news conference here on Friday, Malik Jalal Khan Wazir took strong exception to the reports attaching her with tribal society, saying Ms Gulalai neither belonged to Waziristan nor was she a tribal woman, because whatever she had done during last four days was against the norms of tribal people.

"We cannot expect a tribal woman to adopt such lifestyle. The woman is unaware of the South and North Waziristan Agencies because she is not a resident of the tribal region," Mr Wazir claimed.

He said the tribal families never allowed their daughters to show up before media or irrelevant people. But, he said Shamsul Qayyum, the father of Ms Gulalai, used her for the sake of money only.

Jalal Wazir stressed the need for an inquiry against Mr Qayyum for bringing a bad name to the tribal people for his own personal interests. "The tribal people want to know as to how much money Ms Gulalai has taken for levelling such allegations," he demanded.

Flanked by other tribal elders, Mr Wazir said her statement about sending of inappropriate messages on her mobile by Imran Khan had not only insulted the Pakhtuns but also disgraced a large number of women workers affiliated with PTI.

The tribal elder asked Ms Gulalai to present her blackberry to any relevant forum to clear her position. He said her allegations against Imran had earned her disrespect in the hearts of people.

Reasons the Temple Mount crisis did not explode
[Jpost] The crisis that began three weeks ago with the murder of two border policeman near the Temple Mount did not ignite ‐ for the time being ‐ a third intifada.

Within a week, the country’s headlines shifted from the crisis on the Temple Mount to reports that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s once-trusted aide Ari Harow was about to turn state’s witness.

Within seven days, the palpable tension a jittery nation felt last week ‐ over whether the Friday Moslem prayers at al-Aksa Mosque would trigger a third intifada ‐ gave way to other news: Harow; Elor Azaria; the plight of the workers at Haifa Chemicals and at Teva; the Gay pride parade in Jerusalem; the Facebook feud between Netanyahu’s son, Yair, and Ariel Olmert, the son of Ehud Olmert, triggered by the younger Netanyahu’s alleged failure to pick up after his dog.

As told by friends and family, an insider’s dissection of the evolution of al-Qaeda
Grab a cup of the beverage of your choice, dear Reader, and set aside a bit of time. This is a long one.
[IsraelTimes] Authors Cathy Scott-Clark and Adrian Levy say while the West carefully curates the narrative of the global jihadi group, there was rife dissent over 9/11 and other ’policy’.

Over the past two decades, there have been a number of pivotal moments in which al-Qaeda’s ongoing war against the West has shifted the contours of global geopolitics. Most notably, the 9/11 attacks sent the "war on terror" into a whole new dimension -- first with the United States-led invasion of Afghanistan in October 2001, and then with the subsequent invasion of Iraq in March 2003.

Despite intensive military counter-operations, western understanding of al-Qaeda has been severely limited, primarily because governments and intelligence agencies tend to control and simplify narratives. No longer. A new book discusses the history of al-Qaeda’s forces -- with an insider’s perspective.

Sungai Padi deputy inspector Preecha Polsa was traveling in the car with two policemen. When they reached the spot, detonated the bomb via walkie-talkie. Because of the way that the bomb was placed on top of an anthill, the blast was directed upwards. The main blast force missed the car, which suffered only minor damage.T

Montreal’s Olympic Stadium Turned into Emergency Asylum Centre as Immigrant Influx Surges
[Breitbart] The Canadian city of Montreal has turned the city’s Olympic Stadium into a makeshift asylum centre as the number of migrants colonists crossing the border from the U.S. continues to rise.

Authorities in Montreal announced this week that the Olympic Stadium would be used to house the growing number of asylum seekers as officials estimate that 1,000 people crossed from the United States into the Canadian province of Quebec in July alone, the CBC reports.

Francine Dupuis, the front man for PRAIDA, a Quebec government-funded organization that helps asylum seekers, said the level of migration was unprecedented for them. "We’ve never seen this before," Dupuis said adding: "It’s really quite a bit more intense than what we’re used to."

Between 100 and 450 cots have been set up at the stadium to house the asylum seekers, many of which are from French-speaking Haiti. Cédric Essminimy, front man for the Olympic stadium, said the request for space came from the Quebec authorities on Friday.

Many of the Haitian asylum seekers, who came to the U.S. after the 2010 earthquake, say they fear that the Trump administration may deport them. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said that up to 58,000 Haitians could be repatriated as the emergency they were fleeing has ended.

A Haitian woman told CBC: "We didn’t know what was going to happen. So we checked online and we saw that Canada was going to welcome Haitians, and that’s why we come here."

Mayor of Montreal Denis Coderre has written on Twitter that he welcomes the Haitians and claims that he has spoken to Canada’s Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen regarding the issue.

Marjorie Villefranche, director general of the Maison d’Haiti, a Haitian community organization in Montreal, said that many Haitians living in the U.S. have expressed a desire to come to Canada on social media. Villefranche said that many people have published how-to guides online for Haitians wanting to illegally cross the border and claim asylum in Canada.

Since the start of the year, Canada has seen an influx of thousands of asylum seekers illegally crossing the border, mostly in Quebec and Manitoba, including a record number of Mexican nationals.

Though politicians like the mayor of Montreal and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau welcoming asylum seekers in various statements on social media, a large section of the Canadian public is not as keen on the idea. A poll from earlier this year showed that almost half of Canadians want illegal migrants colonists deported back to the U.S.

Trump goes to golf club resort on 17-day vacation amid criticism for sloth
[Iran Press TV] US President Donald Trump

has gone on a 17-day holiday to one of his golf resorts near New York.

Trump arrived at Trump National in Bedminster, New Jersey on Friday for his extended break.

"The President will continue to work over the next two weeks," said White House spokeswoman Lindsay Walters.

Abbas vows to keep up financial pressure on Hamas
[IsraelTime] Paleostinian leader blasts Gazoo’s rulers for lighting up tunnels despite power shortage, accuses US of trying to block reconciliation

Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial...
pledged Saturday to keep cutting support payments for Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,-ruled Gazoo despite what he said was US criticism of such tactics.

"While there is a severe electricity crisis in Gazoo, Hamas provides light for its underground tunnels and the homes of its officials around the clock," Abbas told a group of prominent visitors from East Jerusalem at his Ramallah headquarters.

Abbas’s government in the West Bank began earlier this year to scale back electricity payments and other financial support to force Hamas to cede ground in Gazoo. Such cuts have exacerbated blackouts.

The Islamic terror group seized the territory in 2007 after defeating forces from Abbas’s Fatah faction. Reconciliation attempts failed.

Abbas told the gathering that the PA would "continue the cuts in Gazoo, gradually, unless Hamas accepts the requirements of the reconciliation."

He added that US officials had told him he shouldn’t cut electricity, and said that those opposed to pressuring Hamas "don’t want to see an independent state" -- presumably because a continued political split precludes independence.

His defiant tone toward Washington comes amid mounting criticism among Paleostinian officials, who say US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
and his envoys to the region having taking Israeli positions and stymying the possibility for meaningful peace talks.

On Tuesday, Abbas held a rare meeting in Ramallah with a delegation from Hamas over possible reconciliation between the rival factions.

The meeting, held at the PA’s headquarters in Ramallah, came amid reports that lightning talks aimed at restoring PA control in Gazoo and getting the PA to lift sanctions against Hamas are underway. The talks were initiated by Abbas, according to the London-based pan-Arab daily Rai al-Youm.

The Hamas delegation was headed by former Paleostinian education minister Nasser al-Din al-Shaer, and included Hamas politicians -- Mahmoud al-Ramahi, Mohammad Totah, Ayman Daraghmeh and Samir Abu Eisha.

According to a report of the meeting in the official PA news outlet Wafa, the sides "reviewed the general situation, ways of strengthening unity, and ending division."

In addition to power cuts in Gazoo throughout most of the day, recent months have seen a severe shortage of medicine and medical equipment in the enclave, a rights watchdog said in June, describing a worsening humanitarian situation.

A deal to truck in fuel from Egypt to keep a power plant running was brokered by Mohammed Dahlan, a former Fatah strongman, seen as a top rival to Abbas.

The PA president, who opposes what he sees as Hamas’s shadow government in Gazoo, has said privately that he is tired of being Hamas’s "ATM machine" and that if Hamas wants PA money it must cede power to the PA in the Strip, according to Rai al-Youm.

The new framework reportedly being discussed between the two sides would enable the PA to restore electricity supplies and allow Gazook banks to trade in foreign currency again.

But in return, Hamas must publicly renege on its agreement with Dahlan, and dismantle its governing structures in Gazoo, which, according to the PA, contravene previous agreements between the group and the PA, the report said.

47 Young Doctors Association activists shown the door
[DAWN] LAHORE: The move to purge the medical fraternity of the ’disgruntled’ segment began on Friday when 47 Young Doctors Association (YDA) activists - 11 post-graduate (PG) trainee doctors and 36 house officers ‐ were shown the door.

The extreme measure was taken by the disciplinary committees of the administrations of healthcare institutions concerned on the recommendations of their academic councils, said a spokesperson for the health department.

Six house officers of Lahore General Hospital, five each of Jinnah Hospital, Services Hospital (Lahore), Sheikh Zayed Hospital (Rahim Yar Khan), Allied Hospital, District Headquarters Hospital (Faisalabad
...formerly known as Lyallpur, the third largest metropolis in Pakistain, the second largest in Punjab after Lahore. It is named after some Arab because the Paks didn't have anybody notable of their own to name it after...
) and Aziz Bhatti Hospital (Gujrat), one PG trainee doctor each of Allied Hospital, district headquarters hospital (Faisalabad), Punjab
1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

Institute of Cardiology (Lahore), two each of Lahore General Hospital, Sheikh Zayed Hospital (Rahim Yar Khan), Services Hospital (Lahore) and Aziz Bhatti Hospital Gujrat, were the list of the sacked medics.

The spokesperson said the administrations of medical colleges have been asked to hold meetings of their academic councils every day and forward to the disciplinary committees names of the trouble-makers. The medical superintendents of teaching hospitals would also submit on a daily basis reports containing names of medics creating hindrance in healthcare delivery.

The YDA leadership was given a last warning by senior medics to resume duty on Friday morning. The YDA activists did reach Services and Jinnah hospitals but instead of resuming work started forcibly discharging patients from the wards.

Later, YDA activists gathered outside the emergency department of Services Hospital and started marching on Jail Road. Carrying placards and chanting slogans against the health department high-ups, the marchers had reached in front of the PIC emergency when they started dispersing as someone broke the news to them that sacking of strikers has begun.

Hussain, who is of Pak origin, paid the undercover officer for accommodation during his journey, telling the undercover agent that he would rather die than return to the UK.

The undercover police officer made audio and video recordings of their talks.

"It was your intention to go abroad, it was your intention to take up arms and to kill, and you did encourage the undercover officer to do the same as you," Judge Peter Collier told the defendant in court, adding, "You did have a commitment to travel to Syria, to join ISIS, to fight and give your life."

Hussain was convicted for two offenses under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act.

OC businessman charged with smuggling tactical equipment to Syria
[OrangeCountyRegister] An Orange County businessman accused of illegally exporting rifle scopes and other tactical equipment to Syria was nabbed
Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please!
Tuesday and charged with smuggling and violating international sanctions.

A federal grand jury, in an indictment unsealed Tuesday, alleges that Rasheed Al Jijakli, 56, of Walnut took tactical equipment to fighters in Syria.

According to the indictment, Jijakli is a Syrian-born naturalized U.S. citizen who serves as the chief executive officer, chief financial officer, vice president, secretary and treasurer of Palmyra Corporation, a check-cashing business in Orange County.

Among the items prosecutors allege that Jijakli provided to Syrian fighters are rifle scopes, laser bore sighters used to adjust sights on firearms, radios and bulletproof vests.

The indictment does not specify to which faction in the Syrian civil war the fighters Jijakli is accused of dealing with are aligned.

On Tuesday in court, the defendant pleaded not guilty
"Wudn't me."
, appearing at ease when chatting with his court-appointed attorney and looking over the indictment. He nodded along as the judge explained his rights.

Jijakli was to be released on bond, required to be on electronic monitoring pending the trial. About a dozen family members attended the hearing, declining comment.

According to the Department of Justice, exporting the equipment would be a violation of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, under which the government prohibits "certain transactions with Syria by United States persons or involving U.S.-origin goods."

The indictment alleges that Jijakli ‐ along with three others only identified as "co-conspirators" ‐ got the tactical equipment from unnamed businesses in Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, Arizona, Arkansas and Washington.

According to the indictment, one of the "unindicted co-conspirators" in January of 2012 communicated with someone in Syria, offering to help buy items such as rifle scopes and weapon-conversion kits and offering to bring the items to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
Over the next several months, the indictment alleges that Jijakli and the others ordered the tactical equipment from the U.S.-based companies. In July 2012, prosecutors allege, Jijakli boarded a flight to Turkey.

Several days later, according to the indictment, Jijakli allegedly arrived in Syria with the smuggled equipment. The indictment alleges that upon his return, Jijakli told one of the so-called unindicted co-conspirators that his trip to Syria was "not too much fun," because he was unable to "join (in) with some action."

According to the indictment, two of the other unindicted co-conspirators also made trips to Syria to smuggle in and turned over tactical equipment.
So if all that happened in 2012, why the arrest and trial now, and why is only one of the miscreants named and arrested?
The indictment does not say how the trio allegedly got the weapons aboard planes; all three flights were reportedly on Ottoman Turkish Airlines out of Los Angeles International Airport.

It isn’t clear how authorities were tipped to the alleged illegal exports.

If convicted, Jijakli faces up to 50 years in federal prison. His attorney declined comment.

Ayesha Gulalai says will forgive Imran Khan 'if he apologises'
[DAWN] Former Pakistain Tehrik-e-Insaf
...a political party in Pakistan. PTI was founded by former Pakistani cricket captain and philanthropist Imran Khan. The party's slogan is Justice, Humanity and Self Esteem, each of which is open to widely divergent interpretations....
(PTI) member and MNA Ayesha Gulalai said on Saturday that she will "forgive" PTI Chairman Imran Khan
... aka Taliban Khan, who isn't your heaviest-duty thinker, maybe not even among the top five...
"if he accepts his mistake" and apologises for sending her unsolicited text messages that she says caused her considerable mental distress.

"If Imran Khan accepts that he has done it [harassed Gulalai] and seeks forgiveness from God, the nation and its women, I will forgive him," Gulalai said in a phone call with DawnNews.

Earlier this week, Gulalai had made the shock announcement that she was quitting the PTI, levelling a series of scathing allegations against Khan and his "gang", including that they used to send inappropriate text messages to female members of the party.

Gulalai's allegations caused a furore among party members and deepened an existing rift with the ruling PML-N, with PTI accusing their arch rivals of criminal masterminding a ploy to malign their party chief.

The ruling PML-N, as well as the PPP, backed Gulalai’s allegations against Khan and called for an investigation into the matter.

The National Assembly on Friday subsequently passed a motion calling for the formation of a special committee to investigate the allegations against Imran Khan and ordering it to submit a report on the matter within a month.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi also assured the provision of round-the-clock security for the MNA after she claimed on television that she was "scared for her life".

German court dismisses soldier for denying Israel’s existence
5 August
[Jpost] A court in Hanover in the state of Lower Saxony affirmed in June the German armed forces’ decision to discharge a soldier because of his rejection of Israel’s right to exist and support for the US- and EU-classified terrorist organization Hamas. The soldier of Afghan background lashed out at Israel, Jews and the United States during questioning by Germany’s military counter-intelligence service (MAD) in 2016.

According to the legal decision obtained by The Jerusalem Post on Friday, the unnamed soldier said “F***... the Jews and the USA” and justified support for Hamas and Fatah. The German military determined in March that the soldier’s comments violated Germany’s anti-hate law. MAD said the soldier also rejected Israel’s legitimacy as a state.

The soldier started his service in 2016 and planned to serve until 2024. The court’s decision said he claimed he had language difficulties because he was raised in Afghanistan and has only been in the Federal Republic for a few years. The soldier denied his allegedly anti-Jewish and anti-American statements when questioned by MAD. He said he is a Shi’ite and has showed sympathy for his religious brethren.

Maxine Waters Accuses Democratic Law School Professor of Being a ‘Racist’ in Defense of Trump
[FREEBEACON] Rep. Maxine Waters
U.S. Representative for California's 43rd congressional district, and previously the 35th and 29th districts, serving since 1991, a total of 25.68017035560372 years. A member of the Democratic Party, she is the most senior of the 12 black women currently serving in the United States Congress, is a member and former chair of the Congressional Black Caucus. Before becoming a member of Congress she served in the Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Assembly, to which she was first elected back when Disco was in flower, in 1976, which would make it 40.678116967513375 years. She has been a politician for virtually all her adult life. If she was brighter she'd be a Communist...
'>Comrade Maxine Waters (D., Calif.) on Friday accused Harvard Law School professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz of being "racist" for saying that the Trump administration will be facing an "unfavorable" locality for a grand jury because it is "solidly Democratic" and has a "ethnic and racial composition" not favorable to Trump.Dershowitz, who has donated thousands of dollars to Democrats, told WABC radio host Rita Cosby on Friday that the new D.C. grand jury orchestrated by Special Counsel Robert Mueller is unfair to Trump.

"It gives the prosecutor a tremendous tactical advantage... the case now can be brought not in Northern Virginia, which is a swing area, sometimes Democrat, sometimes Republican... but the District of Columbia, which is always solidly Democratic and has an ethnic and racial composition that might be very unfavorable to the Trump Administration," Dershowitz said.

Cosby asked Dershowitz whether he thought the geographic move will be a disadvantage for the president. He responded, "Yes, I do."

MSNBC host Chris Hayes played some of the audio from the interview during his show and asked Waters whether the comments were "unfair."

"Oh it's absolutely unfair," Waters said. "What he is saying is ’all of those black people are there and they don't like Trump and so he's not going to get a fair trial and so they should take it out of that jurisdiction. It shouldn't be there to begin with.' I don't like that, and I'm surprised that Alan Dershowitz is talking like that."

"We will not stand for it. We will push back against that because that is absolutely racist," she said.

Sally McManus ratchets up campaign against 'racist' work-for-the-dole program

A $1.5 billion work-for-the-dole program that overwhelmingly targets Indigenous communities has been labelled racist by Australian Council of Trade Unions secretary Sally McManus, with the prominent unionist arguing the government's policy denies Aboriginal people rights enjoyed by other Australians.

In a speech to the Garma Festival on Sunday, Ms McManus will ramp up a union campaign against the Community Development Program, which covers approximately 37,000 mostly Indigenous Australians. While the ACTU has long been hostile to the CDP, the speech marks the union leader's highest-profile and clearest attack on the program since she was elected in March.
