Needs to say a few words that flatter Western rich Buddhist leftists with more money than sense so they will give him money and put "Save Tibet" bumper stickers on their Prius, enabling them (in their own delusional minds) the right to go through life thinking that they are some more highly evolved species than us mere humans.

#5  Considering that the ethos of most religious communities is essentially socialism, this is not too surprising .
Posted by: ed in texas || 01/17/2015 7:33 Comments || Top||

#6  ed in texas is basically correct, the problem of course, is that those who join a religious community do so voluntarily.

Marxists, progressives, socialists, communists etc. insist on forcing everyone to live by their rules. Of course their rules prove the inverse of the golden rule.

Instead of "He who has the gold makes the rules"; they implement "He who makes the rules gets the gold".

This all breaks down to the good old law of the jungle, might makes right, or however you care to phrase it.

UN: At least 50 Ebola hotspots remain, but new cases falling
[Ynet]. At least 50 Ebola hotspots remain in the three hardest-hit West African countries but new cases are declining and the deadly disease will be defeated, the UN's Ebola chief said Thursday.

The latest report from the World Health Organization showing reductions in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone "is very good news," Dr. David Nabarro said in an interview with The News Agency that Dare Not be Named.

This Week In Guns, January 17th, 2015

By Chris Covert
Rantburg.com

The recent election of leftist Terry McAuliffe presages universal background checks for Virginia, according to several sources, including McAuliffe himself. January 19th is Lobbying Day at the Virginia capital, where those who want to impose background checks on private sales will be meeting with legislators. Pro gun people want to meet there, too.

As a note, it appears that universal background checks are spreading, financed in part by billionaire Michael Bloomberg, among others. A similar ballot measure is scheduled for Nevada.

Actor Liam Neeson wants to ban guns in America, so he says, plus he wants to convert to Islam. I think he should, as a perfect coda to a life of fantasy. Kurt Hofmann says gun control freaks and Islamists are the perfect allies.

The White House wants to assemble a conference on domestic terrorism, you know, people like me who are considered terrorists because they are pushing for more freedom and less government. I guess the IRS thing wasn't enough to quell unrest in that area, now they want to turn law enforcement and US security services, to see what they can do to help/

#2  First, Mr. B, that is a cool story for sure.

Second, I'm paying 24 cents a round for ZVS 9mm, but it works perfectly in both a WWII era Luger and a newer (20+ year old) AIMCO stainless American made Luger. Til I found the ZVS stuff, ammo that worked in both was uncommon, at least for me.

#4  Even though a lot of Americans have British stock in their DNA, there became a separation when their brethren came ashore in North America. Back home, the ownership of weapons was something reserved for the upper class and their retainers. Kept the locals to mostly farm implements or antiquated heirlooms when they became testy. The native population and lack of effective state security meant that the locals across the Atlantic had to be individually armed from the get go for those situations when waiting for help from London was months/years away. It's an ingrained trait that will remain unfathomable to many 'over there'.

If you are hell-bent on killing people and spreading terror, do you really care if you violate gun laws? Most of these firearms and weapons came from outside France--add smuggling weapons to the charge that terrorists down't care about.

Arabia
Woman publicly beheaded by authorities in Saudi Arabia
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] A Burmese woman was publicly beheaded by authorities in Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
Mecca city of Saudi Arabia after she was found guilty of sexual abuse and murder of her seven-year-old step-daughter.

The Burmese woman identified as Laila Bint Abdul Muttalib Basim was residing in Saudi Arabi. Her execution further prompted criticism of Saudis human rights
One man's rights are another man's existential threat.
record.

A video of her execution which was carried out by a sword was released online on YouTube. The video showed the woman being dragged into what appeared to be a car park, screaming I did not kill repeatedly.

Held down by four coppers, she was then beheaded with three blows of a sword. YouTube later removed the video as part of its policy on shocking and disgusting content.

A human rights activist Mohammad al-Saeedi said the woman was beheaded without injecting painkillers as the authorities wanted to make the pain more powerful for her.
The authorities appear to have a grasp of how painkillers work...
According to al-Saeedi there are two ways to behead people. One way is to inject the prisoner with painkillers to numb the pain and the other is without the painkiller, he told the Middle East Eye.

A statement by the Ministry of Interior of Saudi Arabia said it believed the sentence was warranted due to the severity of the crime.

'Your desired (police) number is not in anybody's use'
[DAWN] SAHIWAL: Asalam-o-Alykum, your desired number is not in anyones use. You are requested to contact 1217, was the reply when provincial minister Malik Nadeem Kamran dialed Chichawtani DSP Office number displayed in a school as an emergency measure on Thursday.

On further inquiry, it transpired the land-line phone connection of the DSPs office had been cut because of non-payment of dues.
Punjab Zakat and Ushr Minister Mr Kamran was on a visit to the Government Crescent Girls College, Chichawatni, to check security measures, where the number of the DSP concerned was prominently displayed, along with others, to be dialed in case of terrorism threat.

The police as well as the college administration had to face embarrassment when the minister dialed the number to check the effectiveness of the arrangement.

The minster was accompanied by PML-N local leader Tufail Jutt, District Police Officer Syed Khurram Ali and Chichawatni DSP Farrukh Javed, Director Colleges Abdul Majeed, EDO (education) and others.

On further inquiry, it transpired the land-line phone connection of the DSPs office had been cut because of non-payment of dues.

Another funny situation emerged during the ministers visit to the Government College for Boys, Chichawatni, where assistant commissioners cell number was written incorrect.

The minister visited the government colleges and a high school. He directed the building department officials to accomplish construction work at educational institutions soon.
Right. They got right on it.

Lawyers thrash litigant in court
[DAWN] A group of lawyers on Thursday gave a thrashing to a litigant in the sessions court, ignoring the presence of the judge.

The victim, Shakeel Husain, had come to the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Munir Ahmad to record his version in a petition filed by one Khalid Mahmood.

However,
there's more than one way to skin a cat...
attorneys for Mahmood did not let Husain testify before the judge and started beating him up. They, at least 25 in number, freely used kicks and fists while beating Husain whose face was bleeding while the judge and others just looked on, said an eyewitness. The advocates did not bother to acknowledge the presence of the judge and went away after completing their job, he added. The judge sent a reference to the district and sessions judge along with the case file, narrating the whole episode.
