Some of the princes were. ISTR a number of Saudi princes had car troubles in the middle of the desert, some had unfortunate hunting accidents or the like.

Yeah, it's an open question if they removed enough of them...

Charges dropped against unlicensed security guard who shot man at Denver rally
As predicted here: charged big, then charges quietly dropped when public attention shifted.
[KDVR] The District Attorney’s office will be dropping charges against a security guard accused of shooting and killing a man during the "Patriot Muster" in downtown Denver in the fall of 2020.

Denver District Attorney Beth McCann plans to dismiss the charges at the pre-trial conference scheduled for March 21, according to the security guard Matthew Dolloff’s
...illegally unlicensed to work in security or to carry a gun on the job by the city of Denver, long time active member of anarcho-communist organizations with a penchant for picking fights with the target flavour of the month about which he has long posted on social media, he was hired by the Antifa-supporting news station to participate as part of a team in righty-baiting for the purpose of creating exciting footage...
attorney Doug Richards.

"In line with our ethical obligations, we cannot overcome the legal justifications of self-defense or defense of others. We are not able to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt," the DA’s office said.

Dolloff was working for 9News to protect its journalist during protests when he shot and killed Lee Keltner
...loving father and grandfather, happy hat maker, Navy veteran, police supporter...
during a confrontation. Records show Dolloff did not have the license required to work as a security guard in the city of Denver.

Photos from the event show Dolloff and the victim, Lee Keltner, facing off before the deadly shooting. According to the police narrative, Keltner had been involved in an argument with another man and at one point turned his attention toward Dolloff. Keltner hit Dolloff in the face and then within seconds discharged OC spray while Dolloff simultaneously fired one shot.

India-Pakistan
India ‘deeply regrets accidental’ firing of missile inside Pakistan
[Dawn] The Indian defence ministry regretted on Friday that a missile "accidentally" entered Pakistain and fell in Khanewal district's Mian Channu area on Wednesday, attributing the incident to a "technical malfunction".
"Our bad"
"On March 9, 2022, in the course of routine maintenance, a technical malfunction led to the accidental firing of a missile," the ministry said in a statement. "It is learnt that the missile landed in an area of Pakistain."

"The government has taken serious view and ordered a high-level court of enquiry," the statement added.

The ministry said while the incident was "deeply regrettable, it is also a matter of relief that there has been no loss of life due to the accident".

The Indian defence ministry's statement comes a day after Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar briefed the media about the incident, calling for an explanation from Delhi.

"On March 9, at 6:43pm, a high-speed flying object was picked up inside the Indian territory by Air Defence Operations Centre of the Pakistain Air Force (PAF)," he told media persons in Islamabad, adding the object suddenly manoeuvred towards Pak territory from its initial course and violated Pakistain's air space, ultimately falling near Mian Channu at 6:50pm.

"It was a supersonic flying object, most probably a missile, but it was certainly unarmed," he said at the time.

"It is important to highlight that the flight path of this object endangered many international and domestic passenger flights — both in Indian and Pak air space — as well as human life and property on ground," he added.

"Whatever caused this incident to happen, it is for the Indians to explain. It, nevertheless, shows their disregard for aviation safety and reflects very poorly on their technological prowess and procedural efficiency," he further stated.

He said Pakistain "strongly protests this flagrant violation and cautions against recurrence of any such incident in the future".

Earlier today, the Foreign Office (FO) summoned the Indian envoy to register Pakistain's protest over the unprovoked violation of its airspace, saying such "irresponsible incidents" reflected the neighbouring country's "disregard for air safety and callousness towards regional peace and stability".

It also called for a thorough and transparent investigation of the incident, the results of which should be shared with Pakistain.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch clutched at his other shoulder......
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Wormtongue Qureshi
...a Pak political shape-changer. He is undistinguished except for his habit of periodically needing to have his lips reattached...
expressed concern over the incident, saying that the international community and aviation bodies should take notice.

He said Pakistain would decide its next step after receiving India's explanation, adding that envoys of P-5 countries (permanent members of the United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
Security Council) would be called to the FO and briefed about the incident.

Other politicians also condemned the incident and appreciated the PAF's prompt response.

Hijab to anti-CAA violence: Radicals follow the ISIS’ message of inciting the believers
[OneIndia] Following the riots in Bengaluru in August 2020, Sherlocks stumbled upon a larger modus operandi. These incidents such as the riots, hijab row and the violence around the Citizenship Amendment Act were not just stray incidents, but part of a well planned modus operandi.

On Monday, the National Investigation Agency conducted searches at the residence of one Talha Liyakat Khan in Pune. The case was registered following the arrest of a Kashmiri couple two years back for their alleged links with the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
. On March 8 2020, the Delhi Police arrested Jahanzaib Sami Ani and his wife, Hina Bashir Beigh. The probe was later taken over by the NIA.

Till now, six persons have been chargesheeted in this case for conspiring to propagate the ideology of ISIS by garnering support of like-minded people to carry out terrorist activities in India, establishing cells to work for ISIS, raising funds, collecting funds, making IEDs and executing murders," the NIA said.

"During the search today at the premises of suspect Talha Khan, various incriminating documents and digital devices have been seized. Further investigation in the case continues," the NIA said in a note.

The arrests by the NIA included that of one Sadiya Anwar Sheikh, a journalism student from Pune. The NIA had also arrested Abdur Rehman, a Bengaluru based ophthalmologist in connection with this case.

The NIA said that he was linked to the Kashmiri couple.

When Rehman was questioned, he told the agency that he was conspiring with Jahanzaib Sami and other Syria-based ISIS operatives on secure messaging platforms to further ISIS activities. He was in the process of developing a medical application for helping the injured ISIS cadres in the conflict-zones and a weaponry-related application for the benefit of ISIS fighters.

An official tells OneIndia that there are many such persons working in the country. They follow the the ISIS message of Inciting the Believers. This was a tactic used by the ISIS to target Americans. The same is being followed by these persons in India. Off late, we have seen violent mostly peaceful incidents over religious issues. All these persons are part of the same network who incite Moslems into adopting violent mostly peaceful means, the officer also said.

In the original video put out by the ISIS in Arabic, the narrator that the followers must use lighters, matches and gasoline to start fire in places where they will not be detected. The video that has been issued by the al-Hayat Media Centre also shows items such as handguns, power drills that could be used in attacks.

"We are sure that if you knew how and found a weapon you would not delay in fulfilling your duty to support the Moslems and do jihad. Look around yourself again, keeping an eye for a solution and not searching for a problem" as they sort through "all the means to kill and destroy. The video goes on to urge arson jihadists to safely dispose evidence after fleeing the scene of their attacks. For the ISIS, arson has been an easy and cheap terror tactic.

International-UN-NGOs
Amnesty’s US director: Israel shouldn’t be Jewish state, rather ‘safe Jewish space’ — report
[IsraelTimes] Amnesia Amnesty International USA director Paul O’Brien appears to have taken a position against the notion of Israel being a Jewish state in its current sense, telling the Women’s National Democratic Club at an event earlier this week that it instead should serve as "a safe Jewish space" that adheres to Jewish values.

"The right of the people to self-determination and to be protected is without a doubt something that we believe in, and I personally believe that," he said, according to Jewish Insider. "We are opposed to the idea — and this, I think, is an existential part of the debate — that Israel should be preserved as a state for the Jewish people."

O’Brien rejected a 2020 survey that found the vast majority of American Jews identify as "pro-Israel" and feel "attached" to the Jewish state.

"I actually don’t believe that to be true," O’Brien said. "I believe my gut tells me that what Jewish people in this country want is to know that there’s a sanctuary that is a safe and sustainable place that the Jews, the Jewish people can call home."

Rather than a Jewish state with a clear Jewish majority, American Jews want "a safe Jewish space," said O’Brien, who is not Jewish.

"I think they can be convinced over time that the key to sustainability is to adhere to what I see as core Jewish values, which are to be principled and fair and just in creating that space."

‘Staying alive’ may well be new IS chief’s top priority
[Dawn] The krazed killer Islamic State

They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. (IS) group’s new leader will have two key priorities, according to expert Hans-Jakob Schindle; to keep ties between its multiple subsidiaries, and simply, to stay alive.

The krazed killer group revealed the identity of its third chief since its inception on Thursday, confirming the death of its leader Abu Ibrahim al-Qurashi, more than a month after his demise, and naming Abu Hasan al-Hashemi al-Qurashi as his successor.

Expert: ISIS attacks are expected to increase

Shafaq News / Security expert Seif Raad revealed that the new leader of ISIS belongs to the generation that was taught by the former leader of the terrorist organization, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
"Back when we wuz really evil. We were number 1"
Raad told Shafaq News agency that the currently available information says that the new leader is one of ISIS's founders, which is much more dangerous and violent than al-Qaeda.

He added that the former terrorist leader wanted to break terrorist prisoners out of Ghwiran prison in al-Hasaka, Syria, to make sure others are capable of taking his place if he gets killed.

Abou Hassan al-Hashemi, who was newly chosen as the leader of ISIS, is expected to instruct increasing terrorist attacks and take advantage of everyone's preoccupation with the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Abou Hassan al-Hashemi is "Zaid al-Iraqi", was the Prince of ISIS's Diwan from March 2014 until 2019, then was assigned to the position of the legal offices of the organization The Sharia Office for Camp Management, and several other positions in the terrorist organization.

Zaid al-Iraqi is an elite member of ISIS, and contributed to setting the courses that are being taught for the terrorists.

New Islamic State leader is brother of slain caliph Baghdadi
Follow up to this story from yesterday. Hattip to 3dc.
[Rooters] The new leader of Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
, whose appointment the group announced on Thursday, is the brother of slain former caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, according to two Iraqi security officials and one Western security source.

Islamic State named its new leader Abu al-Hassan al-Hashemi al-Quraishi
… An Nahar spells his name Abu Hasan al-Hashemi al-Qurashi …
in a recorded audio message distributed online.

The announcement came weeks after the death last month of Abu Ibrahim al-Quraishi,
… Abu Ibrahim al-Qurashi in An Nahar’s stylebook, also known as Haji Amer Qardash or Haji Abdullah Qardash…
the man who in turn succeeded Baghdadi in 2019 and became the group's second so-called caliph. Both Baghdadi and Quraishi died by blowing themselves and family members up during U.S. raids on their hideouts in northern Syria.

CLOSE BAGHDADI AIDE
The new leader's real name is Juma Awad al-Badri, he is Iraqi and Baghdadi's elder brother, two Iraqi security officials told Rooters on Friday. A Western security official confirmed the two men were brothers, but did not specify which was older.

It is the first time this has been revealed since Islamic State announced the new leader. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorised to speak to media.

Little is known about Badri, but he comes from a close circle of shadowy, battle-hardened Iraqi jihadists who emerged in the aftermath of the 2003 U.S. invasion.

"Badri is a radical who joined salafi jihadist groups in 2003 and was known to always accompany Baghdadi as a personal companion and Islamic legal adviser," one of the Iraqi security officials said.

The new leader's real name is Juma Awad al-Badri, he is Iraqi and Baghdadi's elder brother, two Iraqi security officials told Rooters on Friday.
The official said Badri has long been head of Islamic State's Shura Council, a leadership group that guides strategy and decides succession when a caliph is killed or captured.

Research by the late Iraqi Islamic State expert Hisham al-Hashemi published online in 2020 said Badri was leader of the five-member Shura Council.

The audio recording announcing the new leader said he had been named by Quraishi as his successor before his death.

Badri's nom-de-guerre, also Quraishi, indicates that like his brother and his predecessor he is believed to trace his lineage from the Prophet Mohammed, giving him religious clout among fellow jihadists.

Iraqi security officials and analysts have said that the new leader will continue trying to wage attacks across Iraq and Syria and that he might have his own vision for how those attacks are carried out.

NEW SECURITY THREAT
One of the Iraqi security officials who spoke to Rooters on Friday said Badri had recently moved across the border from Syria, where he has been holed up, and into Iraq.

Badri will inherit control over financial resources that are significant, according to a report written in December by the United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
sanctions monitoring team.

"Recent assessments ... put the group's reserves at between $25 million and $50 million," it said, but added that Islamic State spends more than it earns, relying on "opportunistic extortion, looting and kidnap for ransom."

Badri has two other brothers, one detained for years by Iraqi security services, the Iraqi security official said. The other brother's whereabouts is not known, but he is believed to be another Islamist radical, he said.
Rudaw gives us even more alternate spellings:
Former leader: Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi, whose real name was Amir Mohammed Abdul Rahman al-Mawli
The new guy: Abu al-Hassan al-Hashemi al-Qurayshi
Muhajir called on Muslims to pledge allegiance to the new leader, but refused to share his real name and photo. Despite sharing the same nom de guerre, the two are not believed to be related. Instead, al-Qurayshi stems from Quraish, the name of the tribe that the Prophet Muhammad belonged to, and a tribe that ISIS claim its leaders originate from. The former Qurayshi's real name was Amir Mohammed Abdul Rahman al-Mawli
