#2  This is a self-induced crisis and the blame is shared by many. The USA had 20 years to arrange disposition for its Afghan collaborators. The need to evacuate them was obvious as soon as US agents infiltrated Afghanistan in the days after 9/11/2001. The USA failed to plan for 20 years and so is now carrying out a sure-fire FAILURE.

#2  Media always leave out the manufacturer and the method of getting the drug from the factory into the USA. As best I can tell, China is still manufacturing fentanyl and carfentanil for export to the USA, and the USPS carries a great deal of the traffic. Can't discuss this, oh no. The USPS can't possibly screen packages from China to the USA for these drugs, oh no.

Two Bad Guys die in Russian counter terror operation
Direct translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] Two militants were killed during a CTO by security forces in a forest near the village of Talgi. In the village, classes at the school have been canceled, there is an accumulation of military equipment, and the entrance to the village and the exit from it are blocked, local residents said.

As the "Caucasian Knot " has reported, in the Buinaksk region of Dagestan, in connection with information about the movement of militants at 04.55 Moscow time on September 10, a counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced. The National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC) has reported the killing of two militants .

According to the NAC, the counter-terrorist operation in the Buinaksk region takes place within the borders between the Zauzunbash, Miskinbash and Sanatorskaya mountains. The village of Talgi is included in the urban district "the city of Makhachkala" and is located on the territory surrounded by the lands of the Buinaksk region, follows from the information on the website of the local administration.

The security forces killed the militants during the CTO in a forest, not far from the Makhachkala village of Talgi, where the location of the special operation was displaced. There was no sound of gunfire, but in the morning the entrance and exit from the village were blocked, said one of the local residents .

"They are not letting anyone in or out now. Classes at school have been canceled. What is the reason, they did not explain. But now a large number of military equipment UAZ, Ural, armored personnel carriers have entered the village," he told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

He also clarified that the security forces do not enter the villagers' houses.

The accumulation of military equipment is also observed around the village of Talgi, said another local resident.

"They drove in at about 6 am. They cordoned off everything. The entrance to the village was closed, they were allowed to leave for some time, but whether it is possible now, I do not know," he told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The situation inside the Talgi village is relatively calm, he added. “The only thing is that classes at the school were canceled. The teachers were returned home, and the children were told not to come,” the villager said.

Before the special operation, local residents were warned that the CTO regime could last up to two days, he added.

Recall that according to the NAC, the security forces offered the killed militants to lay down their arms and surrender, and they opened fire in response. Weapons, ammunition and an improvised bomb were found at the scene of the shootout, the department informed.

Government Corruption
The Forever Wars are coming home
[The Intercept] I WAS DRIVING home from a militia muster in the Virginia mountains last summer ‐ after another day immersed in preelection talk of civil war ‐ when I found myself reflecting, as I often have in the year since, on Norman Mailer's "The Armies of the Night."

The book is about the 1967 anti-war protest at the Pentagon and, more broadly, the factionalizing unrest of that period and how Vietnam fueled it. It also explores how the quiet or mostly quiet acquiescence to horrors abroad, horrors carried out by U.S. troops in the name of an entire democratic nation, degrades a society. At one point, the narrator imagines himself encountering "Grandmother, the church-goer, orange hair burning bright" at a slot machine in Las Vegas. "Madame, we are burning children in Vietnam," he tells her. "Boy, you just go get yourself lost," she replies. "Grandma's about ready for a kiss from the jackpot."

The book turns its lens on the left as well, even on the anti-war protesters marching on the Pentagon. In its violent climax, as soldiers bludgeon young demonstrators in the night, Mailer cites an account that appeared afterward in the Washington Free Press, a newspaper founded by campus radicals. It was by Thorne Dreyer, then 22, who went on to a prolific career as a writer and activist. As the beatings commenced, Dreyer wrote, "I began to resent the ‘super-militants' who created so much pressure to stay. Because that was nothing but goddamn bourgeois politics. … People have to come to terms with what violence means. It's not something to groove on and cleanse your soul with."

I see a desire for violence as catharsis in many protesters on the left and right today and in the people cheering them on from their living rooms. It's an effect, I think, of the two full decades of war that Americans will mark on this year's September 11 anniversary, with the drone strikes and commando raids of the so-called war on terror carrying on in the background even as American soldiers leave Afghanistan and end their combat mission in Iraq. War, especially interminable war, does this to a nation. It makes people want to claim the sanctity of combat for themselves and to inject the stakes of conflict into their lives. The protesters at the Pentagon were there to stand against the violence of Vietnam, but some of them wanted a piece of that violence for themselves. They were jealous of the soldiers in that way; the war had infected them too. The difference with the post-9/11 wars is that there's no draft and there have been no corresponding liberal armies in the streets, at least not any focused on the nation's foreign conflicts. People crave the trappings of war more as they understand it less, and these modern wars, to a degree that would probably shock the people of Mailer's generation, have been absent from our collective political consciousness.

At the same time, all of us still know, in some perhaps unacknowledged part of our minds, that we each own a piece of the sublime suffering that has unfolded for 20 years on the frontiers of the American empire, the incinerated children and demolished cities, the service members coming home to die by suicide. Even those who never served have been grooving on the violence of the war on terror for years as armchair militants. Many Americans, like me, have never known adult life without it, growing up against the backdrop of terrorist threats, removing shoes at airports, invasion, occupation, Guantánamo Bay ‐ stakes we understand to be so terrible that the only answers are drone bombs, surveillance, civilian casualties. We've learned to put our morals on hold and ask forgiveness later as we assent to whatever it takes to extinguish the threat. We've become accustomed to labeling people as insurgents and terrorists, too, and to all the moral permissiveness these terms imply, moving us well beyond the orange-haired grandmother's passive assent.

And inevitably, it has all bent back on us. These wars have seeped into our lives and discourse in ways that color how we see not only the wider world but also our neighbors ‐ Muslims at first, then our political opponents. They've made Americans more war-like, opening our minds to ideas like collateral damage and unbounded conflict that are now taking hold in our politics.

I've never heard of anger against Americans, Brits, and Canadians from the people of Normandy, despite the civilian casualties from D-Day and its preparations.

I've never heard any Americans -- or Germans -- whining about the US citizens who went to serve in the German army and died to bombs, artillery, bullets, or a bayonet.

The country isn't split because Afghanistan went on so long -- the Korean War hasn't ended, either -- but because of alien philosophies we've let fester and gain popularity among the power-hungry.

Amid Afghan Refugee Influx, DC Govt Warns of Dangers of Online Extremism
[Free Beacon] One anonymous 4Chan user suggested Afghan refugees might vote for Democrats.

Refugees fleeing the Biden-induced human rights catastrophe in Afghanistan are streaming into Washington, D.C., and flowing into the area's hospitals amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In response, the district's emergency management agency has issued a stern warning about the threat of online extremism.

The District of Columbia's Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency warned law enforcement officials earlier this week that "extremist rhetoric has risen online following the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan." According to an intelligence assessment obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, the agency assessed that "the increase in extremist rhetoric may presage targeted violence against Afghan refugees." The evidence cited to support that assessment, however, was rather scant—just a handful of examples from "known online forums," such as 4Chan, Free Republic, BitChute, and the official QAnon Telegram channel.

Terror Networks
20 Years after 9/11 – Are We Better Off?
[TownHall] - When the hijacked planes hit the twin towers of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon that first 9/11, the Taliban were in control of Afghanistan and providing sanctuary for al-Qaida.

Today, the Taliban are in control of Afghanistan and providing sanctuary to al-Qaida. What then did our longest war accomplish?

The Afghan army and government we stood up and sustained for decades has collapsed. The U.S. military has withdrawn. U.S. citizens and thousands of Afghans who fought alongside us have been left behind.

The triumphant Taliban of today are far stronger than were the Taliban of 2001 who fled at the approach of the Northern Alliance. Al-Qaida is now present in many more countries than it was when we first launched the Global War on Terror.

Nor is the America of 2021 the hubristic self-confident country of George W. Bush and the neocons who were going to convert the Middle East into something like our Middle West and advance from there "with the ultimate goal of ending tyranny in our world."

Our country is a changed place from 2001. Gone are the unity, confidence and resolution. And how have all our interventions gone?

Call the roll.

#1  Gone are the unity, confidence and resolution On 9/11/2001 I scoured the internet for indications of those who were NOT part of this so-called "unity". There were plenty of them, authors of which had the sense to simply shut up and keep their own "death-to-America" sentiments quiet for a while. Those deviant comments and links disappeared within a few weeks of 9/11/2001. E.g. I remember stories of candy being distributed in Paleostine to celebrate the attacks, and something about Yasir Arafat trying to quash the news about the joy there. Now the "death-to-America" faction is running things.

#4  I joked about it at the time, but we might have been better off with Gore in power because he might have moved us away from the oil economy and onto Nukes. That combined with the initial removal of Taliban would have been a nice move.

#6  So on the 20th anniversary of 911 we have come to realize a few things. 1. The people that attacked America, on American soil have won the war. This is a first as no one have ever attacked us and survived. 2. We gave them status and legitimacy on the world stage. They are now going to the UN as a legit state due to us. 3. We completely outfitted their military. 4. And in the Biden budget we have a funding line to pay for rebuilding their country. Tomorrow will be a tough day as we remember the lives and fortune we spent and walked away losers.

Israeli assaulted by souvenir seller in Pisa who yelled ‘Jews are murderers’
[IsraelTimes] An Israeli man was assaulted and battered in the face by a souvenir seller in the Italian city of Pisa this week, with the antisemitic attack leaving the tourist requiring surgery to his face.

Elad Forgash was visiting the city, famous for its leaning tower, when the incident happened on Sunday.

He was walking through a local market and found a model of the tower that he wanted to buy as a souvenir, he told the Ynet website.

As he spoke with the seller, who was wrapping the item, the man explained he was an immigrant from Bangladesh, and then asked Forgash where he was from.

When he revealed he was from Israel, the seller began to curse and insult him, Forgash said.

“He said to me he hates Israel and the Jews because they are murderers,” Forgash said.

After a short exchange of words, the Israeli decided he would not buy the tower and began to leave.

“He hit me in the head with the statue,” Forgash said.

The stall owner then ran away.

Police arrived and Forgash, who suffered a broken eye socket and a broken nose, was taken in an ambulance to the hospital. His injuries will require surgery when he returns to Israel, according to the report.

Local police are investigating the incident.

PM orders criminal proceedings against pilgrims entering Israel with fake tests
[YNet] - Prime Minister Naftali Bennett ordered on Thursday to take harsh punitive measures against Israelis returning from the Rosh Hashanah pilgrimage in Ukraine using forged COVID-19 tests, including criminal proceedings and possible incarceration.

Mice with bigger ears? Climate change is causing animals to 'shapeshift,' new study shows
[USAToday] Some animals are "shapeshifting" parts of their bodies, and it may be due to climate change, according to a new study.

The evidence of warm-blooded animals experiencing changes to appendages such as beaks, legs and ears was found by a team of researchers led by Sara Ryding of Deakin University in Australia and was published Tuesday in the journal Trends in Ecology & Evolution.

To measure the changes, researchers used what is known as Allen's Rule, which states that animals in colder climates have shorter limbs and appendages than those in warmer climates.
kinda explains my tiny doinker
The biggest evidence of change occurred in birds from Australia and North America. Australian parrots have shown an average increase of 4%–10% in bill surface area since 1871 as temperatures have risen. In North America, dark-eyed junco saw similar increases in bill size. Other changes showed wood mice having bigger ears and bats with larger wings.

“They are in prison but did nothing,” he adds before his microphone is cut by the presiding judge who then suspends the hearing.

The Israel Defense Forces canceled all leave for soldiers stationed in the West Bank as it geared up for possible festivities for the "day of rage," set to start following Friday prayers.

Jordanian court upholds conviction of 2 men in alleged royal plot
[IsraelTimes] A Jordanian court upholds the conviction of two former senior officials on sedition and other charges connected to an alleged plot against the kingdom involving the half-brother of King Abdullah II.

Bassem Awadallah, who has US citizenship and once served as a top aide to the king, and Sharif Hassan bin Zaid, a member of the royal family, were sentenced to 15 years in prison in July by a state security court. They are accused of conspiring with Hamzah, a former crown prince, and of seeking foreign assistance.

They were swept up in a wave of arrests in April. Prince Hamzah, who was placed under house arrest that month, denied being part of any conspiracy and said he was being targeted for speaking out against corruption. The king later announced that the royal rift had been resolved within the family, and Hamzah was never charged with anything.

Awadallah’s US-based lawyer, Michael Sullivan, slammed the initial verdict, saying there was a “complete lack of due process” and that his client suffered “inhumane treatment, including beatings and psychological torture.” Jordanian prosecutors have denied those allegations.

The Court of Cassation dismisses an appeal filed by lawyers for the two men, saying they were convicted in accordance with the law, according to the state-run Petra news agency.

EU official says Palestinian textbooks have ‘deeply problematic content’ — watchdog
[IsraelTimes] The acting director of the European Commission, the European Union’s executive branch, has said that official Palestinian school textbooks contain “very deeply problematic content” and that changes are “essential,” according to an Israeli watchdog group.

The Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School Education (IMPACT-SE) says in a statement that the comments were made this morning by Henrike Trautmann during a meeting of the EU Parliament’s Working Group Against Antisemitism in Brussels.

“It is very clear that the study does reveal the existence of very deeply problematic content… changes to the curriculum are essential,” said Trautmann, whose directorate oversees all aid to the Palestinian education sector, according to IMPACT-SE.

“Full compliance of all educational material with UNESCO standards of peace, tolerance, coexistence and non-violence must be ensured as must any reference of antisemitic nature need to be addressed and taken out,” she adds.

No operative decision has been made to cut any funds.
If there are no real consequences, you don't see it as a real problem.

'Huge hole': Congressman says feds aren't vetting social media posts of Afghan refugees
[Just The News] A congressman from Wisconsin, where thousands of Afghan evacuees are being temporarily resettled, says the Biden administration is creating a significant security risk by failing to aggressively vet refugees' social media before allowing then to reach U.S. destinations.

Rep. Tom Tiffany, a Republican, told Just the News that the failure to vet social media posts for possible extremism is just one of several byproducts of a chaotic Biden administration exit strategy that has moved immigrants to U.S. installations in third countries before adequate security checks could be completed.

"They said, get them on the planes, and we'll sort the immigration status out later," Tiffany said during a wide-ranging interview on the John Solomon Reports podcast. "And Secretary [of State Antony] Blinken acknowledged that this last weekend, on the Sunday news shows that that's exactly what they did. That is a terrible way to handle national security."

Tiffany said veterans of the Afghan war told him one of the most effective tools the military had for early identification of people who pose terrorism risks or were radicalized was through social media surveillance.

"It appears that the Biden administration, the State Department, is not doing any checks on social media," he said. "And that's one of the No. 1 places you can find at this point what people's true beliefs are. I mean, employers across the United States, they check social media all the time when they're interviewing people. ... And that is not happening here in this vetting process, which is a huge hole."

Six hit by gunfire near MLK Drive in scenic East St. Louis, Illinois
[USA Today] Authorities in East St. Louis, Illinois, are searching for several suspects who they say shot six people before crashing into a commuter train in a dangerous getaway attempt Thursday.

The shooting happened around 4 p.m. local time in the city's downtown area, near 6th Street and Martin Luther King Drive, Illinois State Police said in a statement. Six were hit with bullets and another person, a juvenile, was also injured.

All seven were hospitalized. Their conditions were not immediately available, police spokeswoman Beth Hundsdorfer said.

The St. Louis Metro said on Twitter that service had been disrupted due to a car on the tracks and told riders to expect delays.

The three suspects were on the run in a nearby wooded area, according to reports.

According to KMOV-4, about 10 train passengers were being treated for injuries on the scene. The station said the suspects tried to outrun the train at a nearby crossing with their getaway car.

KSA, Nigeria Foil Drug Smuggling Bid by 'Hizbullah-Linked Network'
[AnNahar] The Saudi and Nigerian interior ministries have thwarted an attempt by a network linked to Lebanon’s Hizbullah to smuggle 451,807 amphetamine tablets into Saudi Arabia, the Saudi ministry said on Thursday.
That usually turns out to be captagon.
The security spokesman of the Saudi interior ministry, Colonel Talal al-Shalhoub, stated that the drug bust followed “proactive security follow-up of the activities of criminal networks that smuggle drugs into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”

The spokesman added that the tablets were supposed to be smuggled into the kingdom by sea from Nigeria after arriving in the African country from Lebanon.

Noting that the pills were hidden inside mechanical equipment, Shalhoub said the shipment was seized in Nigeria in coordination with the African country’s authorities.

Al-Shabaab says a Kenyan behind suicide attack on Somalia military base
[Garowe] A Kenyan national played a key role in the repulsed Al-Shabaab attack at a Somali military base, the militants have revealed, in what could trigger questions over the counterterrorism strategy which is seemingly shaky.

In a statement published by the militants, Al-Shabaab named Abdirahman Zeynudin as the commander who coordinated the attack at the Amaara military base in the Mudug region within the state of Galmadug on August 24, 2020, in an attack that left several soldiers dead.

Abdirahman Zeynudin was the suicide bomber who drove the Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Device [VBIED] which targeted dozens of the Somali National Army [SNA] troops who are stationed in the fragile region within Somalia.

The Al-Shabaab militants said Abdirahman Zeynudin was born in Mombasa, Kenya, a coastal town that has often faced militant attacks for almost a decade now. It's not clear how he sneaked to Somalia for training or even when he managed to do so.

Government forces managed to repel the attack following a reinforcement from the US Africa Command, who activated an airstrike. The militants suffered a lot of casualties, with the SNA estimating that close to 60 Al-Shabaab fighters were killed.

Although the US Africa Command didn't confirm the number of casualties, it pledged support to the Somali National Army. Unfortunately, the Al-Shabaab militants retook the town, two days after the SNA triumph.

In a statement, Al-Shabaab also confirmed killing several soldiers besides confiscating armored personnel cars belonging to the Somali National Army. The militants announced that they defeated the government troops.

Kenya has been putting mechanisms to reduce violent extremism by promoting defections and repatriation of fighters. Hundreds of fighters have since defected following persuasion by the Republic of Kenya.

It's not just Abdirahman Zeynudin who has been linked with Al-Shabaab attacks. Early this year, the militants also confirmed that two Kenyans were among the team which crossed over from Somalia and attacked the US military base in Manda Bay, Lamu in Kenya in 2020.

Taliban Closes Bank Accounts of Officials From Former Govt; Journalists Beaten
Nothing outside the government -- totalitarians gotta total.
[ToloNews] Bank accounts of some former government officials who fled the country have been closed by the Taliban.

Anaamullah Samangani, a member of the Taliban Cultural Commission, said on Thursday that the Taliban has closed some bank accounts of officials who worked in the previous government, but he did not mention names.

“Accounts of some officials from the previous government--most of whom fled the country--have been closed," he said.

At the same time, a letter posted on social media by the Afghanistan Central Bank (Da Afghanistan Bank ) said that accounts of some ministers, deputy ministers, governors, deputy governors, members of parliament, members of provincial councils, mayors and other VIPs should be closed in other internal banks, and be reported to Central Bank.

Officials from Afghanistan Central Bank have not commented to the media over the issue.

Concerns Mount Over Violence Against Journalists

[ToloNews] Reporters Without Borders (RSF) warned of a sharp increase in violence against journalists and reporters in Afghanistan, saying that in the past two days dozens of violent cases against journalists have been recorded by the RSF.

Reza Moini, head of RSF’s Afghanistan desk, said that in the past 48 hours 24 journalists were detained by the Taliban and were released after several hours.

“In the past 48 hours, dozens of violent cases were registered against journalists in Afghanistan by the RSF,” he said.

On Wednesday, Etilaatroz newspaper in Kabul said five of its reporters were detained by the Taliban while covering a women's protest and gathering news.

Two of the reporters who were detained during the protest said the Taliban beat them badly and they were hospitalized.

Meanwhile, some reporters in the provinces said the Taliban has imposed limitations on them.

The Taliban, however, acknowledged the treatment of reporters but said they will try to prevent such incidents in the future.

“We are regretful of the reporters becoming victims over the past few days. We tried to address their challenges. If they were transferred to a safe place by the Mujahideen, which was interpreted as being detained, we will also work on this and try to see they are treated properly,” said Anaamullah Samangani, a member of Taliban’s cultural commission said.

The organizations that support and defend journalists, both inside and outside the country, have voiced their concerns over the dangerous situation of journalists in Afghanistan and called for the end of violence against reporters.

Panjshir Residents Say Blocked Roads May Cause Starvation
[ToloNews] Some families who recently came to Kabul warned that Panjshir residents are facing serious problems and that people will die of hunger if the current conditions continue in the province.

It is reported that roads are closed and both electricity and telecom services were cut off after fighting began in the province.

A family who lost a son in the last battle in the area said that a humanitarian crisis is occurring in Panjsher province.

Shayesta Mehraban said: “The attacks and conflicts increased, people even escaped to the mountains.”

At the same time, Abdul Rab Rassol Sayaf, former Jihadi Leader, called for a quick end to the offensive in the province, saying that civilians should not be hurt in battle.

“ Panjshir is a famous part of our honorable and proud country. Attacking the lives ...of people is inadmissible. This is not generosity, it has to be stopped.” Sayyaf said.

The Taliban's Anaamullah Samangani said: “The conditions are normal and under Taliban mujahideen in Panjsheer. (Accounts of) massacres and torture of the people are not true. These are rumors.”

However, the acting minister for refugees, Khalilurahman Haqqani, said the process of helping displaced and affected people will start in Panjshir province in the near future.

Haqqani said: “We will try to provide the required assistance to the displaced people of Panjshir and other places.”

People said Panjshir is still without power and telecom services, but the Taliban said it will reconnect the power.

Pakistan provides first tranche of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan
[KhaamaPress] After the humanitarian aid of Qatar, UAE, and Bahrain, Pakistan as Afghanistan’s biggest immediate neighbor provided Afghans with 30 tonnes of Korans food ingredients and medicines on Thursday, September 9.

The aid which includes flour wheat, cooking oil, and medicine were surrendered to the Taliban’s officials in Kabul International Airport by the Pakistani embassy to Kabul Mansoor Ahmad Khan.

This was the first consignment of the total relief assistance Pakistan’s government plans to provide to the people of Afghanistan.

A statement released by the Pakistani embassy based in Kabul, other tranches of the relief assistance to be delivered to Kandahar, Herat, and Khost province soon.

Earlier, Afghanistan’s other neighbor, China announced emergency aid of over 31 million dollars and 3 million doses of corona vaccine to the people of Afghanistan.

The humanitarian assistance comes as the Taliban officials have called on the international community to provide the people of Afghanistan with unconditional humanitarian assistance to prevent a humanitarian crisis.
The humanitarian aid which was announced in Afghanistan’s neighboring countries’ conference on Wednesday, September 8 also includes food and medicines.

The virtual conference on Afghanistan was arranged by Pakistan in which the foreign ministers of China, Iran, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan had taken part.

Afghanistan’s neighbors unanimously agreed that cooperate in arresting and eliminating the fleeing terrorists.

Chinese foreign minister said that the four countries can cooperate in fields including helping Afghanistan in keeping borders open, providing humanitarian aid, deepening counterterrorism cooperation, and strengthening COVID-19 prevention.

Wang Yi called on the Taliban to hit terrorists in the region and also asked the neighboring countries to strengthen sharing intelligence so that they prevent fleeing terrorists from Afghanistan and eliminate them.

Though China has welcomed the interim cabinet announced by the Taliban, Chinese analysts believe that China will not recognize the caretaker government of the Taliban immediately.

Taliban have always said that China as Afghanistan’s biggest neighbor and one of the leading economic power in the world can play a major role in the reconstruction of Afghanistan and added they can be good partners in the future.

Baltimore feral yoots charged with stealing Highlands man's car, dragging him to his death will be tried as adults
[BALTIMORESUN] Two Baltimore teens charged with murder for a fatal carjacking in the Highlands neighborhood in April will be tried as adults, according to Maryland court records.

Baltimore Police said they had identified three teenagers shortly after Fabian Mendez, 41, was run over and dragged with his own car during a carjacking in the 100 block of N. Conkling St. around 9:30 on April 2. One was captured at the scene and confessed, a second was arrested days later and also confessed, according to police charging documents.

A 13-year-old girl was identified in the records as being an accomplice, but she has not been charged as an adult, according to an online records search.

Donyea Witherspoon, who turned 17 days after the assault, and Terrance Wilbon, 16, are charged with murder, carjacking and conspiracy, according to court records. They are being held at a youth detention center in Baltimore, according to state department of corrections records.

According to the records, Mendez was on his way to work around 9:30 a.m. when a police officer who was in the area saw him being assaulted. The three suspects jumped into his 2010 Toyota Camry and attempted to flee, striking and dragging Mendez several blocks to the 3400 block of E. Fayette St.

Witherspoon confessed to being the driver, according to charging documents.

Baltimore police had been called to a Highlands gas station about 4:50 that morning and kicked the three teenagers out of the business after they were acting suspiciously, records show. The officer who removed the teens recognized one of them when Witherspoon was caught at the scene, police said.

Witherspoon, captured after a quick foot chase, identified himself, the girl and the boy as the people involved when officers presented him photos captured from video at the BP gas station, according to the charging documents.

Witherspoon also confessed to police after his mother arrived and sat in on an interview, police said.

Ethiopia says Tigrayan forces beaten in Afar, Tigrayans say they redeployed
[REUTERS] Ethiopia said on Thursday that rebellious forces from the Tigray region had been defeated in the adjacent Afar region and had withdrawn, but the Tigrayan forces said they had merely shifted troops to neighbouring Amhara for an offensive there.

"The TPLF force has left Afar (region)," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Dina Mufti told reporters at a news conference in Addis Ababa.

"According to a military information, they were defeated and they left," he said.

Tigrayan spokesperson Getachew Reda, speaking to Reuters by satellite phone from an undisclosed location, said the Ethiopian authorities had only now realised Tigrayan forces had withdrawn.

Iranian-backed military groups withdraw from Daraa neighborhoods, southern Syria
[NPASYRIA] On Thursday, military groups of the government forces and Iranian-backed factions withdrew from the vicinity of Daraa al-Balad, Tariq al-Sadd neighborhood and the camps in Daraa, southern Syria.

"The groups withdrew from the Gharz and al-Nakhla areas in the vicinity of Daraa al-Balad, but kept a number of their military checkpoints in the grain silos in Gharz, near the Daraa Dam and the Quneitra school on the outskirts of Tariq l-Sadd neighborhood," local sources told North Press.

They added that some groups withdrew "partially" from the Shiyah farms near the Jordanian border, "they have kept some points in the southwestern side of the city."

The withdrawing forces headed towards temporary headquarters in the western countryside of the city of Daraa, according to the same sources.

They pointed out that the government forces reopened military checkpoints that they had closed during the siege of the neighborhoods, most notably the al-Saraya checkpoint, which connects Daraa al-Balad and the besieged neighborhoods with the city center of Daraa, which allowed the displaced families to return to their homes.

The withdrawal of the factions comes in implementation of the terms of the agreement held on September 5 between the notables of Daraa governorate and the government forces under Russia’s guarantee.

Yesterday, government forces entered the besieged neighborhoods of Daraa and some of the IDPs returned to their homes through al-Saray checkpoint, which was reopened.

During the past two months, neighborhoods of Daraa al-Balad, Tariq al-Sadd, and the camps have witnessed shelling by the government forces and Iranian-backed factions before reaching a Russian-sponsored ceasefire agreement.

Government Corruption
White House Extends National Election Emergency Granting Authority for Federal Intelligence Agencies to Enter State Election Databases for Mid-Term Election
[theconservativetreehouse] In the lead-up to the critical 2018 mid-term elections, President Trump's political opposition needed a control mechanism in order to remove him from office and support the impeachment path. The administrative state -writ large- produced an overwhelming narrative leading to the issuance of a Executive Declaration of A National Emergency to Avoid Foreign Interference in Our Elections.

At the time the narrative was framed (mid-2018), the argument was: if President Trump did not declare the emergency, and grant the federal intelligence community the right to enter state election databases and "monitor" the activity therein, that refusal itself would be proof Donald Trump was a Russian asset. Remember, the Mueller investigation was at its apex and the office of the president was surrounded by administration officials like Mike Pence (VP), Jeff Sessions, Rod Rosenstein (DOJ), Alexander Vindman (NSC), Dana Boente (FBI), Dan Coats (DNI), Michael Attkinson (ICIG), et al; all of them carrying ulterior motives.

President Trump signed the emergency declaration and granted the Intelligence Branch of Government full access to the state-level election systems.

In short, President Trump was forced by his Machiavellian captors to seal his own fate. Yes, this is how the DC apparatus works. The Intelligence Branch of Government works with their political agents within the legislative branch and simultaneously coordinate with their media operatives to surround the target with fire until the action they need is executed. In the fall of 2018, the unrelenting pressure worked exactly as designed. [Federal Register]

It was not coincidental that most of the new 2018 Democrat candidates for office came from former and/or current CIA and intelligence agencies. A few people wondered why so many ‘new' DNC approved candidates were from the intelligence agencies of the government. Some even coined the phrase "CIA Democrats", but for the most part it was ignored. The 2018 federal election outcome was delivered exactly as planned. Democrats took control of the House of Representatives and paved the way for Mueller to deliver what they needed for articles of impeachment.
"Not coincidental?" Of course not, they've been the shadow government for decades. You may recall how silent they all became after Trump left office? Slipping out of Eagle Base two weeks before the last plane load left Kabul. Who is left holding the kak sandwich? Yes, the moron in Chief, fall guy.

#1  Fourth InternationalSocialist Equality Party report. The CIA Democrats: A balance sheet of the primaries, Patrick Martin, 21 September 2018:
With the end of the primary season, the Democratic Party leadership and their allies in the national security apparatus have completed the first stage of what might be termed a “friendly takeover” of the Democrats by candidates recruited from among military, CIA and civilian national security cadres. The World Socialist Web Site first identified the phenomenon of the CIA Democrats in March. we noted the large number of candidates drawn from the military-intelligence apparatus seeking Democratic nominations in competitive congressional districts. If the Democrats won the November election, we warned, such military-intelligence operatives would hold the balance of power in the new House of Representatives.
Of the 44 districts we identified in March—since grown to 46—military-intelligence candidates have won 30 nominations, a success rate of about 66 percent or two-thirds. That testifies to their extensive support from the Democratic Party leadership, from longtime financial backers of the Democrats, and from the top levels of the national security establishment.

Joe Biden Announces Civil War
[Babylon Bee] U.S.—In a stirring address to the country today, Biden has announced a new Civil War.

"Look, folks—here's the deal. For real this time. No joke. The words on the screen I'm supposed to read are saying that we're gonna force millions of people to get vaccinated against their will. Gotta do it folks," said Biden as he read off the teleprompter. "To enforce this, we're just gonna have ourselves a little Civil War. It's been a while since we had one of those. Let's just fight it out until all the unvaccinated people are dead or we're all dead which will stop the spread of COVID. Win-win, folks."

Biden assured the American people they will lose the upcoming Civil War as they don't have any F-15's or nukes. Any unvaccinated Americans who survive will be sent to special camps where they will learn the importance of getting vaccinated.

"For real, I don't see how anyone can be against this! Come on, man!" Biden said.

(UPDATE: After reading an article in the Huffington Post that unvaccinated people are just like the Taliban, Biden immediately surrendered to them and gave them a bunch of free weapons.)

Five Turkish-backed factions announce new military formation in northern Syria
[NPASYRIA] On Thursday, five factions of the Ottoman Turkish-backed Syrian National Army in northwest Syria announced their merging into a new formation called the Syrian Front for Liberation.

The new formation, which was announced through an official statement, includes the factions of the Sultan Suleiman Shah Division, al-Hamza Division, al-Mu’tasem Division, Suqour al-Sham Division, and the 20th Division.

The Front appointed Mu’tasem al-Abbas, commander of the al-Mu’tasem Division, as its leader, and Seif Bolad, commander of the al-Hamza Division, as deputy, while the factions affiliated with it are deployed in the areas they control with Ottoman Turkish support in the countryside of Aleppo, Hasakah and Raqqa.

According to the new statement, the formation aims to create a "single and effective leadership that transcends the limits of coordination and operates under the umbrella of the National Army."

The factions affiliated with the new formation are accused of committing widespread human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
violations and carrying out kidnappings, torture and killings in their areas of control, according to international and local reports.

Armed robber shot in face by armed victim in Texas just days after permitless carry begins
[MSN] An armed robber was shot in the face in Texas when his victim pulled out his own gun and shot at him, just days after a Texas law went into effect allowing residents to carry handguns without permits.

"He was shot in the face one time. He's at the hospital. He's going to live. He's conscious and breathing right now," Houston Police Department Lieutenant R. Willkens said.
"breathing through a hole in his forehead"
The suspect in the case was dropped off around the same time, and approached the victim by lifting his shirt to expose a gun and demanded he fork over any valuables.

The victim, however, was also armed and pulled out his weapon and shot the suspect in the face. The suspect is in the hospital and in police custody.

Additionally, no charges are expected to be brought against the victim, as he was defending himself.

"He's being extremely cooperative. He has no criminal history whatsoever," Willkens said of the victim.

The incident comes after Gov. Greg Abbott signed a "constitutional carry" bill into law this summer allowing Texans to carry handguns in public without going through training or obtaining permits.

"You could say that I signed into law today some laws that protect gun rights," Abbott said at the bill signing in June. "But today, I signed documents that instilled freedom in the Lone Star State."

The law went into effect on Sept. 1.

Sean Spicer says he's suing Biden for firing him from a position Trump gave him at the US Naval Academy
[BUSINESSINSIDER] Sean Spicer, a former White House press secretary, said he planned to sue President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women created ... by the — you know — you know, the thing...
over a demand that Spicer and others resign from positions at US military academies given to them by President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and whatever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
.

"I will not be submitting my resignation, and I will be joining a lawsuit to fight this," Spicer said on Wednesday on Newsmax, the conservative cable network where he is an anchor.

He shared a letter from the White House Office of Presidential Personnel asking him to resign from the board of visitors at the United States Naval Academy, an oversight position.

If he did not quit by Wednesday, it said, he would be fired.

The Biden crime family administration
...knaves, footpads, and adjusters employed by the Biden Crime Family. They leave a trail of havoc everywhere they turn their attention, be it the nation's borders, the Keystone XL Pipeline, or epidemics, sometimes on purpose, most times through sheer arrogant ineptitude. They learnt this stuff in college, you know...
on Wednesday sent letters to 11 Trump-era appointees to military-academy advisory boards requesting their resignations. They included Spicer, the former national security advisor H. R. McMaster, and Kellyanne Conway, a former senior advisor to Trump. The appointees held positions at schools including the US Military Academy and the Naval Academy.

Jen Psaki
...a valley girl who woke up one morning and found she was spokeswoman for the U.S. Department of State under Obama. A new American success story, under Biden she became spokeswoman for the whole administration, and she was even able to get her sister a job...
, the White House press secretary, confirmed on Wednesday that the administration was seeking to remove them, Insider's Grace Panetta reported.

Psaki took a dig at Spicer and Conway in the process.

"The president's objective is what any president's objective is, was to ensure you have nominees and people serving on these boards who are qualified to serve on them and who are aligned with your values. And so yes, that was an ask that was made," Psaki said.

She added, "I will let others evaluate whether they think Kellyanne Conway and Sean Spicer and others were qualified or not political to serve on these boards."

Spicer hit back at Psaki on Newsmax, citing his service in the Navy Reserve, where he is a commander.

"For 22 years I've had the honor of serving alongside some of the most talented, patriotic, and brave individuals this country has to offer," he said, adding, "I've done multiple tours, and politics has never entered into my service."

He did not specify the nature of the lawsuit he planned to bring or explain how Biden's decision could be deemed unlawful.

Conway, who sits on the board of visitors at the Air Force Academy, said that she would refuse to resign and that the request "seems petty and political, if not personal."

Meghan and Harry have been enjoying financially independent life in Montecito since their bombshell decision to step down as senior working members of the royal family.

The Duchess of Sussex , according to new reports, is casting her eyes around to see who else she could really connect with and one of the ideas would be their friend for now, loosely speaking, the chat show queen Oprah Winfrey.

Nigeria says it seizes 14 tonnes of fertiliser meant for Boko Haram bombs
[REUTERS] Nigerian troops have seized 14 tonnes of fertiliser that the murderous Moslem Islamist group Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
had planned to turn into roadside kabooms, the army said on Thursday.

Boko Haram has killed hundreds of people in bombings during its 12-year war against the armed forces in northeast Nigeria
... a particularly crimson stretch of Islam's bloody border...
, a conflict that has spilled over into neighbouring Niger, Chad and Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
and caused an estimated 350,000 deaths.

The army said it had broken up a urea fertiliser syndicate that supplied the Lions of Islam with materials to make IEDs, or improvised bombs.

Troops seized 281 bags of urea, each weighing 50kg, at two locations in northeastern Borno and Yobe states, military front man Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu said in a statement.

He said the Lions of Islam were "desperately acquiring IED materials to make bombs with which to unleash terror on innocent civilians, in a bid to remain relevant and present a posture of potency".

Boko Haram, whose leader Abubakar Shekau
...the lunatic leader of Boko Haram who has been reported dead at least eleven times, pledged his body and soul to ISIS, told his fighters to hang it up once or twice, and been fired by the Caliph and refused to step down. Last seen in 2017, sneaking into Cameroon while wearing a burka...
died in May, has been in a conflict with splinter group-turned-rival, the Islamic State

#3  According the AFB base spokesman Bob Purtiman.

No evidence of gunshots has been found.

Note: This all started because 2 people "thought" they heard gun shots.

Wondering Out Loud.
Was this:
a deliberate false report?
a prank gone wild?
or maybe (GOD forbid) a test of the response system for something planned for 9-11 remembrance related?

Posted by: NN2N1 || 09/10/2021 6:28 Comments || Top||

#4  ...Keep in mind a few years ago, the base authorities at Wright-Pat failed to coordinate a set of security and accident response exercises with one another....and when someone saw the SPs running around with weapons, and a seriously injured airman (hit by a car while jogging) brought into the Base Hospital, they put 2+2 together and got 22, calling in a possible active shooter at the Hospital.

And in the best traditions of Murphy's Law, it got better - or worse, depending on your point of view. One of the SPs got it into his head that a door he was unable to open at the hospital (it was a supply closet, but there was no signage indicating such) was sheltering the non-existent shooter.

So he shot it.

Three times.

Only then did people start to ask, you know, questions, but it was another hour before they got things sorted out.

Security and economic stability is inseparable from ISIS combat: Mazloum Abdi
[NPASYRIA] On Thursday, the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazloum Abdi, said that his forces are strategically patient and did not escalate with The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
on the border, despite its violation of the truce, and that they are continuing the intra-Kurdish dialogue and other communities.

He considered that improving the economic situation in northeast Syria is inseparable from the fight against the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS).

Abdi’s speech came when he was hosted in a virtual seminar held by the Washington-based Newlines Institute for Strategy and Policy.

Abdi said that no escalation or penetration of the border with Turkey took place during the nine years of his forces’ control over north and east Syria.

He added that they are trying to show strategic patience and not to escalate despite Turkey’s violation of the truces, especially the truce sponsored by Mike Pence, the former US Vice President in 2019, as any escalation in the region will ultimately benefit ISIS, where the activity of its sleeper cells is currently increasing in the east of the country and on the Syrian-Iraqi border.

Abdi noted to special efforts and moves made by the administration of the US President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S., father of Hunter. He blames Trump for losing Afghanistan....
to pressure the Ottoman Turkish side to stop the escalation and the recent Ottoman Turkish attacks on the region.

From August 12 to early September, the Ottoman Turkish forces escalated their targeting of villages and towns north of Hasakah, killing and wounding dozens of civilians and SDF members amid frequent shelling on the countryside of Hasakah, Manbij and Ain Issa, causing partial displacement from some villages.

Polar bears are inbreeding due to melting sea ice, posing risk to survival of the species, scientists say
[ABCNEWS.GO] The outlook for the survival of polar bears appears precarious as scientists learn more about factors induced by climate change that are affecting the long-term health of the species.

Polar bear populations studied in Svalbard, the Norwegian archipelago on the Barents Sea, were found to have up to a 10% loss in genetic diversity over a 20-year period, which correlated with a "rapid disappearance of Arctic sea ice," according to a study published Wednesday in the Royal Society Journals. As the ice melted, the polar bears' habitat became fragmented, resulting in a rapid increase in genetic isolation and inbreeding among regions due to reduced contact with polar bears from the outside, scientists said.
Polar bears with buck teeth and Hapsburg lips? I think I'd pay money to see that!

#15  they found the bear was a grizzly–polar bear. A massive and very aggressive hybrid called a Grolar bear.

Some call them pizzlies. Grolar is better. They exist because the expanding polar bear population has spread south into grizzly territory. Polar bears are reportedly a fairly new sub-species of Ursus arctos (brown bears), which includes grizzly bears. That’s why they can interbreed and produce viable offspring.

Morocco's long-ruling Islamists suffer crushing defeat to liberals
Good.
[TIMESOFISRAEL] A Moroccan party run by a billionaire considered close to the monarchy won the most seats in legislative elections, while the Islamist party that has been in power for a decade suffered a stinging defeat, according to results announced Thursday.

With nearly all the votes counted, the Interior Ministry said the National Rally of Independents, or RNI, took 97 out of 395 seats in the lower house of parliament. The Islamist Justice and Development Party (PJD), which has led the government since 2011, won only 12 seats, down from 125 in the last elections in 2016.

RNI leader Aziz Akhannouch — considered by Forbes to be the richest person in Morocco — called the result “a victory for democracy, its spirit and its rules.”

His party has promised to create 1 million jobs to boost the economy after the pandemic, expand health insurance to all Moroccans, increase teacher salaries and provide a guaranteed pension for the elderly.

Under the country’s constitution, the king appoints the prime minister from the party which wins most seats, who will then proceed to form a government. Overall, the role of lawmakers is limited by the powers of King Mohamed VI, who oversees strategic decision-making in Morocco, an important ally of the West in efforts to fight extremism and stem migration from Africa to Europe.

What Does The Latest DATA Say?

National Rally of Independents 102 +65 (is biggest winner)

Authenticity and Modernity Party 87 –15

Istiqlal Party 81 +35

Socialist Union of Popular Forces 34 +14
...
and the Justice and Development Party 13 –112 (biggest loser)

WHAT I SEE:
I see a growing number of SOCIALIST focused Political Groups.

I see the voters rejected the Justice and Development Party.
Was it because it was a moderate Islamic democracy political party and the voters are more tone down EU type Islamics?

A number of Monarchy related parties. Some more or less directly steered by the Monarchy.

SUMMARY:
Given this style of government. While the King picks the prime minister based on the largest winner. The King pretty much still has the final say.

Given the 2 largest groups are in direct opposition of each other and only hold 102 + 87 = 189 of the 395 seats. That means the majority of the seats (206)still rest with a collection of smaller political groups. If joined together, these smaller groups could become a real power and have a serious say.

Bishop quits church after falling in love with satanic erotica writer
[FOXNEWS] This church official has chosen corsets over crucibles.

A Spanish bishop, known for supporting gay conversion therapy and performing exorcisms, has left the Roman Catholic Church after becoming smitten with a writer of Satanic erotic fiction, Silvia Caballol.

"I have fallen in love and want to do things properly," said the now-ex-bishop, Xavier Novell, according to a report by BBC, which picked up the story from Spanish media outlets after the news of why Novell quit broke last month.

In addition to widespread media attention, the 52-year-old’s decision has also led to much internal criticism within the church. Some of his former colleagues told the Spanish media that they believed Novell to be possessed by demons. The situation is "not a problem of celibacy but rather of infestation," one said, as reported by the National Post.

Before his scandalous resignation from the church, Novell was considered one of its rising stars, having become Spain’s youngest bishop in 2010 at the age of 41. His August departure reportedly shocked the religious community, although BBC reported that he had met multiple times with Vatican officials — even the Pope himself — ahead of his resignation.

Now in love but out of work, Novell is now looking for employment as a crop expert or agronomist in the Barcelona area, Religión Digital reported.

The woman he broke his vow of celibacy and commitment to Christ to be with, Silvia Caballol, is a divorced psychologist and erotic novelist whose titles include "The Hell of Gabriel’s Lust" and a trilogy called "Amnesia." Caballol’s work has explored themes of madness, lust, sadism, God and Satan. Her publisher describes her as a "dynamic and transgressive author [who] turns upside down our ideas of morality and ethics," according to the National Post.

Novell has admitted in previous interviews that his infatuation with Caballol is not his first: Before becoming a man of God, he fell in love with and for a time wanted to marry and have children with an 18-year-old girl.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Klobuchar says she was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer this year
[CNN] US Sen. Amy Klobuchar
Senatrix from Minnesota, candidate for the Dem presidential 2020 nomination. You can tell the kind of husband a boy will make by the way he treats his mother. You can tell the kind of leader a politician will make by the way he treats his staff. Klobuchar is reportedly overbearing, snide, and dictatorial with her people. She see this as merely getting the best from them. Her name spelled backward in the Russian alphabet would be "Rachubolk," which sounds pretty daggone suspicious...
said Thursday that she had been diagnosed and was successfully treated for breast cancer this year.

In a post on Medium, the Minnesota Democrat said doctors discovered "white spots called calcifications during a routine mammogram" in February, leading to her having a biopsy done at Piper Breast Center in Minneapolis and learning that she had Stage 1A breast cancer.

Klobuchar said she later underwent surgery to remove the cancer and completed radiation treatment in May.

In August, it was determined that the treatment went well, Klobuchar said.

"Of course this has been scary at times, since cancer is the word all of us fear, but at this point my doctors believe that my chances of developing cancer again are no greater than the average person," she said.

Stage 1 breast cancer is a "very early stage of invasive cancer" where the cells have spread to normal breast tissue but are contained to a small area, according to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. In Stage 1A breast cancer, a tumor measures up to 20 millimeters, roughly a size of a small grape, according to the MSKCC.

Austin: No evidence Taliban being 'inclusive,' says 'I don't look favorably' on wanted terrorist in government
[FOXNEWS] Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin says that while the Taliban promised to form an "inclusive" government upon taking control of Afghanistan, there does not appear to be any indication they are actually doing this.
I noticed that. Not a single woman, black, or Hispanic was named.
Speaking to reporters during a visit to Kuwait, Austin referenced the Taliban's claim that they would work toward having an "open, inclusive Islamic government," unlike what they had when they controlled Afghanistan before U.S. forces landed in the country nearly 20 years ago.

"You know, I think the whole international community was hopeful that they would be inclusive as they kind of said they would be weeks and months ago, but we've not seen evidence of that early on," Austin said.

The Taliban recently announced members of their new government, and not a single woman was included. A Taliban spokesperson on Monday said positions within the government are now in an "acting capacity" but added that many members of the old guard are part of the new government.

Afghanistan
No one is allowed to protest until formalities are complete: Taliban
[KhaamaPess] The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in a statement said that people are no longer allowed to arrange demonstrations until and unless they have permission from the ministry of interior affairs.

The statement reads that for the time being, no group and no one is allowed to protest no matter under which name and for what purpose.

The Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
released the statement after some protests in the past five days in Kabul and province turned violent mostly peaceful.

As per the statement, some people are taking to the streets in Kabul and provinces who are prompted by some parties and have disturbed the order of lives and have threatened the security of citizens.

"Protestors should have permission from the ministry of justice and should inform security forces at least 24 hours in advance to ensure the security of protest. They should also share the slogans of protest, the time and the starting point and ending point of the demonstration with the relevant bodies." Reads the statement.

Kabul and other provinces have been witnessing protests which are being arranged by women for their participation in the cabinet and against the so-called interference of Pakistain in Afghanistan.
Al Ahram adds:
One protest organiser told AFP rallies in Kabul had been cancelled because of the overnight ban.

Putin and Lukashenko move to integrate economies of Russia and Belarus
[THEGUARDIAN] Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
and Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko said they had made progress toward integrating the two countries’ economies during a summit on Thursday evening in advance of massive joint military exercises.

Speaking late on Thursday, Putin said the two leaders had agreed to coordinate the countries’ macroeconomic policies, institute common tax and customs measures, and harmonise other financial controls as part of a 28-point roadmap that is expected to increase Russia’s influence over its neighbour.

The countries will move to integrate their energy markets while maintaining steeply discounted supplies of natural gas to Belarus, and Russia will provide a further $630m in loans to the cash-strapped Belarusian government, Putin said.

The texts of the agreements were not made available and the leaders did not sign any documents publicly. While the two sides announced new economic agreements, they stopped short of introducing a common currency or going into detail on any defence or political agreements, signalling a limit to the extent of the negotiations.

Lukashenko, who has been sanctioned by the west for a brutal crackdown on the country’s opposition, has been seen as resisting pressure from Moscow to concede control over government policy in exchange for Russian support.

The 'Frey Effect' not such a huge mystery after all
Another perspective on this story from yesterday.
BLUF:
"This is not Havana syndrome. It's a misnomer," argues Mr Zaid, whose clients were affected in many locations. "What's been going on has been known by the United States government probably, based on evidence that I have seen, since the late 1960s."

Since 2013, Mr Zaid has represented one employee of the US National Security Agency who believed they were damaged in 1996 in a location which remains classified.

Mr Zaid questions why the US government has been so unwilling to acknowledge a longer history. One possibility, he says, is because it might open a Pandora's Box of incidents that have been ignored over the years. Another is because the US, too, has developed and perhaps even deployed microwaves itself and wants to keep it secret.
You mean like...'gain of function'?
The  country's interest in weaponising microwaves extended beyond the end of the Cold War. Reports say from the 1990s, the US Air Force had a project codenamed "Hello" to see if microwaves could create disturbing sounds in people's heads, one called "Goodbye" to test their use for crowd control, and one codenamed "Goodnight" to see if they could be used to kill people. Reports from a decade ago suggested these had not proved successful.

Taliban has reportedly banned women’s sports in Afghanistan
Totalitarian conquers always impose the new rules in a stepwise progressions, so that the frogs get used to the heating water.
[IsraelTimes] Citing hardline Islamic modesty standards, spokesperson says: ’It is the media era, and there will be photos and videos, and then people watch it’

Australia’s SBS TV has quoted a Taliban
...Arabic for students...
spokesperson as saying that women’s sports — and women’s cricket specifically — will be banned by his group in Afghanistan.

"In cricket, they might face a situation where their face and body will not be covered. Islam does not allow women to be seen like this," the network quoted Ahmadullah Wasiq, the deputy head of the Taliban’s cultural commission, as saying.

"It is the media era, and there will be photos and videos, and then people watch it. Islam and the Islamic Emirate do not allow women to play cricket or play the kind of sports where they get exposed."

Wasiq last month told SBS that the Taliban would allow men’s cricket to continue and that it has given approval for the men’s national team to travel to Australia for a test match in November.

Australia’s Sport Minister Richard Colbeck said the Taliban’s decision on women’s sport was "deeply concerning" and he urged organizations such as the International Cricket Council to take action.

"Excluding women from sport at any level is unacceptable," Colbeck said in a statement. "We urge international sport authorities, including the International Cricket Council, to take a stand against this appalling ruling."

about 10 million years ago, Iceland was covered with forests with lots of species now common in midlatitudes, e.g., oak, sumac, maple

after the multiple glaciations of the ice ages, the only tree species flourishing was birch and some aspen

but then as human habitation spread in the 11th to 14th centuries, trees were cut down for fuel and sheep began grazing cut areas preventing new growth

it is a sad story

Taliban agreed to allow 200 foreigners to leave Afghanistan, Kabul airport ready in days
[KhaamaPress] US officials on the condition of anonymity have told Rooters that the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
have agreed to allow up to 200 US citizens and citizens of other countries to fly from Hamid Maybe I'll join the Taliban Karzai
...A product, and probably the sole product, of the Southern Alliance...
International Airport HKIA based in Kabul.

The foreign civilians are said to be flown out in a chartered plane from the Afghan capital on Thursday, September 9.

After the completion of the evacuation by the US and their full withdrawal on August 31, the Taliban banned international flights from Afghanistan and said that those with the documents can fly out after their cabinet is announced.

Source has told Rooters that the permission from the Taliban was taken by the mediation of Zalmay Khalilzad but has not said whether the 200 people are those prevented to fly out from Mazar-e-sharif.

Earlier, reports were that the Taliban have not allowed up to one thousand foreign people and Afghans to fly from Mazar-e-sharif airport in northern Balkh province.

Kabul airport to be ready for international flights in three days
[KhaamaPress] Taliban

...A product, and probably the sole product, of the Southern Alliance...
International Airport HKIA said that the airport will be fully ready for international flights in the upcoming three days.

...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
are busy working in HKIA along with the Afghan engineers.

HKIA was mostly sabotaged and was inflicted up to $20 million worth of damage by the US marines after they completed their evacuation on August 31.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan asked Qatar and Turkey to send their experts and help them in repairing the airport which was made ready for domestic flights in three days but international flights are yet to take off and land from the airport.

Big screens, computers, scanners, and other electronics have been donated by Qatar and UAE and the technical teams are now busy installing them in terminals.

In the meantime, the Taliban allowed those who have documents to travel abroad after they announced their caretaker cabinet.

This comes as the international community is busy lobbying for convincing the Taliban to provide safe path for those who want to go abroad.
According to Al Ahram, the 200 actually left the country, so I lost that bet:
Some 200 passengers, including US citizens, left Kabul airport on Thursday, on the first flight carrying foreigners out of the Afghan capital since a US-led evacuation ended on August 30.

Thursday afternoon's Qatar Airways flight took some 200 people from Kabul's airport -- the first since a mammoth, chaotic airlift of more than 120,000 people came to a dramatic close with the US pullout.

An Afghan-American dual citizen, waiting to board the flight with his family, said the US State Department had called him in the morning and told him to go to the airport.

"We got in contact with the State Department, they gave me a call this morning and said to go to the airport," the father, who asked not to be named, told AFP.

- WAITING WITH SUITCASES -
Footage broadcast by Al Jazeera TV on Thursday showed families including women, children and elderly people waiting with suitcases at the airport for their turn to leave.

It was not immediately clear whether any countries other than Qatar had played a role in organising the airlift.

Qatar has acted as the central intermediary between the Taliban and the international community in recent years, and numerous countries, including the United States, have relocated their embassies from Kabul to Doha in the aftermath of the Taliban takeover.

"We are very appreciative of the Qataris," one man told the channel, giving his nationality as Canadian.

Away from the airport, there was a noticeably stronger Taliban presence on the streets of Kabul as armed fighters -- including special forces in military fatigues -- stood guard on street corners and manned checkpoints, according to AFP journalists.

Earlier Thursday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said only around 100 Americans remained in Afghanistan.

"It's right around 100 right now and we're working to get those American citizens who want to depart out of the country, as well as legal permanent residents and other key partners," Psaki told MSNBC.

White House says Taliban was ‘businesslike and professional’ in new evacuation
No doubt.
[IsraelTimes] The Taliban was businesslike, “professional” and cooperative in facilitating the latest evacuation of US nationals from Afghanistan, the White House says.

“The Taliban have been cooperative in facilitating the departure of American citizens and lawful permanent residents on charter flights from HKIA,” US National Security Council spokesperson Emily Horne says of today’s flight from Kabul to Qatar.

“They have shown flexibility, and they have been businesslike and professional in our dealings with them in this effort,” Horne adds, stressing that efforts to facilitate such evacuations of Americans and Afghans who worked with the US mission will continue.

Afghanistan
Taliban’s caretaker cabinet to last for six months, more about key members
[KhaamaPress] Former officials of the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
believe that the newly announced cabinet of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan will last for six months and then the official cabinet will be announced.

The former official has said that the official cabinet will be announced based on the votes and willingness of the Afghan people and will include all classes.

A 33-member all-men caretaker cabinet which was announced on Tuesday, September 7 has triggered mixed reactions inside Afghanistan.

A number of Afghan leaders who are in exile have reacted to the cabinet as being monopolized by a single ethnic group (Pashtoon) and have asked the international community not to recognize as the Taliban will threaten the region and world.

Son of the slain Ahmad Shah Masoud, Ahmad Masoud has called the cabinet illegal and said that they will declare a parallel government which will be transitional and democratic.

On the other hand, political analysts in Afghanistan believe the cabinet to be much required in the current situation in order for the lives of people to come to normal.

They believe that the Taliban want to assess their capacity and see what the possible international and internal reactions are to the caretaker cabinet.

Former Taliban officials believe that the official cabinet of the Taliban will include women, experts and will be all-inclusive.
