Facebook has Special Privileges for Special People
[Business Insider] H/T to MeWe.
Facebook has a secret internal system that exempts 5.8 million users from having to follow the rules on its platform, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The paper on Monday published an investigation detailing how high-profile users on its services who are "newsworthy," "influential or popular, or "PR risky" don't see the same enforcement action as do ordinary users, citing company documents it had viewed.

Figures like former President Donald Trump,
before he was banned
soccer star Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, and even Doug the Pug are covered by the system, nicknamed "XCheck" or "cross check." The system was created in response to the shortcomings of Facebook's dual human and AI moderation processes.

Less than 10% of the content that XCheck flagged to the company as needing attention was reviewed, per a document reported by the paper. Facebook spokesperson Andy Stone told the Journal that the number grew in 2020 but did not provide evidence to support that assertion.

Most Facebook employees have the power to add users to the XCheck system for whitelisting status, a term used to describe high-profile accounts that don't have to follow the rules. But the Journal viewed a 2019 audit that found Facebook doesn't always keep a record of who it whitelists and why, which poses "numerous legal, compliance, and legitimacy risks for the company and harm to our community."

Biden told Joe Manchin 'you're really f***ing me' in last-ditch phone call to get senator to back his $1.9T stimulus deal

#2  President Biden allegedly called Senator Joe Manchin back in March 2020 and said that if he didn't back his $1.9T stimulus package, 'you're really f***ing me'
According to a book by Washington Post journalists, the phone call took place on March 5 - one day before Senate voted on Biden's 'American Rescue Plan'
Manchin ended up voting with majority of the democratic lawmakers and the relief package was passed in a 50-49 vote

To go out and blame the food producers was an absolute dick move, and you end up with bobbleheads saying crap like Big Meat when it is an across the board agriculture problem starting with spare parts and planting essentials. Oh, "Big Meat" will be fine, what you will see suffer are the small and medium producers, with the small producers, who by the way do the neat artisan things, getting shorted out.

#12  The Covid lockdown, which played havoc at the production end, and the massive move to shopping online that resulted from the shutdown, was part of it. Then President Biden squeezed domestic oil, leading to higher oil prices that drove up the cost of everything shipped from producer to consumer, and the result was guaranteed. Finally, the huge deficit spending bills added serious inflation to the mix. and here we are.

Thank goodness it looks like neither the proposed $3.5 trillion bill nor the proposed $1.? trillion bill will survive in the Senate, and possibly not in the House as well. And with more continuing to work from home for the next year or more, retail gasoline consumption — and car/truck purchases — will be reduced, while used cars will become more available as those working from home realize that for probably the next year they’ll need at least one car less than they’re currently supporting.

COVID booster shot side effects? Israeli health fund survey explains
[JPost] - More than 2.9 million Israelis have elected to get a third shot of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine. One health fund, Maccabi Health Services, has released a report of the side effects that some of its clients experienced after the shot.

In a survey published Monday of 9,222 individuals over the age of 18 (41% men and 59% women), the health fund showed that while the majority of people experienced some side effects from the vaccine, none of them were life-threatening and they usually went away within one to three days.

The survey was taken between September 3 and 6, 2021.

Yet in USA thousands of people die every day from the side effects of the Jab. How's that possible?

Many of us currently NOT getting the VAX are NOT Anti-VAX'ers.
Many of us are Wait & See regarding the Long Term results against of this man-made BIO-WARFARE engineered Virus.

I think we'll all agree the CDC/NIH and Fed's position has been a moving target and has been anything but constant in their VAX effectiveness, warnings, handling, treatments, statements and infection data.

We know that those that said early on in 2020 that the C-19 already had multiple strains (A-B-C and now D+) like the FLU Virus. Pondered if it would require different or additional VAX's to addresses new strains were ridiculed initially. But with the D strain were found semi-right.

We know the protection / effectiveness of mRNA based Vax's wears off after 5+ months.

There are many more.
But the point is; too many times those voicing concerns were called fools, idiots and conspiracy nuts. But they have had their share of dead on calling it correctly. Almost as much as the CDC/NIH.

Source please...

Without attribution/corroboration the assertion above is funny since I can't name one single person that even had what could be considered even moderate side effects from the vaccine much less someone that died from it. But, I can name two relatives and two friends that died from Covid. So tell me, how is that possible?

Reading through this blog's reader responses and opposition to the vaccine indicates some serious paralysis by analysis. It appears that waiting for “Le mieux est l'ennemi du bien”...the perfect is the enemy of the good.

#15  the people who get adverse reactions to the vaccine tend to be under 25

The Israelis who got the booster are probably 40+ although there may some in their 20s or teens.

At some point the danger of vaccine equals the danger of not getting the vaccine. That point is almost certainly below 30. The CDC thinks it is below 13. Pfizer thinks it is below 5, maybe below 1.

Anti-vaxx leader's COVID death could have been avoided, says brother
[JPost] - The brother of Hai Shaulian, an Israeli activist against vaccines who died from COVID-19 on Monday, said Hai's death could have been avoided if he had gotten the jab.

In an interview given to N12 on Tuesday, Avi Shaulian mourned the death of his brother who refused to get the COVID-19 vaccination.

"He could have seen his kids get married, his grandchildren get married," Avi said of Hai. "He was too stubborn," he added.

...When asked whether he tried to convince his brother to get vaccinated, Shaulian said he "tried to convince him...there was no way to change his mind."

"He refused to be ventilated," said Shaulian. "Until the very last day, he believed his way was the right way. We tried explaining it to him in the countless arguments we have had."
In a video uploaded to social media by Hai Shaulian while he was hospitalized at Wolfson Medical Center in Holon, he claimed "the Jerusalem police tried to poison" him.

Hai then called on his followers on social media not to get vaccinated against the virus under the headline: "There is no epidemic - the vaccine is unnecessary and dangerous."

Rather die than admit he was wrong.

David Horowitz explains ‘The Greatest Existential Threat to America'
[American Thinker] For decades now, David Horowitz has been telling the truth about the left’s real goals for America and explaining how they are nearing their achievement. The ignominious surrender of Afghanistan to the very enemy we fought for almost two decades there is a signal moment, revealing the deep rot in the military leadership of our nation.

David has asked us to share this essay, which will be published Monday in his organization’s Front Page Magazine. We are pleased to reproduce it here with permission.

Ex-U.S. intel operatives admit hacking American networks for UAE
[Ynet] Three former U.S. intelligence operatives who worked as cyber spies for the United Arab Emirates admitted to violating U.S. hacking laws and prohibitions on selling sensitive military technology, under a deal to avoid prosecution announced on Tuesday.

The operatives - Marc Baier, Ryan Adams and Daniel Gericke - were part of a clandestine unit namedProject Raven, first reported by Reuters, that helped the UAE spy on its enemies.

At the behest of the UAE's monarchy, the Project Raven team hacked into the accounts of human rights activists, journalists and rival governments.
The UAE embassy in Washington, D.C., did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

India-Pakistan
Terror module busted in Delhi, UP shows Dawood is still prime asset for ISI
[OneIndia] The busting of two ISI sponsored modules, one by the Delhi Police and another by the UP ATS is clearly a sign of the Pakistain spy agencies trying to up the ante ahead of the elections to be held next year.

While the Delhi Police arrested 6 persons who were planning attacks during the festival season, the UP police picked up 3 persons following raids at Lucknow, Rae Bareli and Pratapgarh.

The Delhi Police said that the six persons were planning major attacks in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra during the festival season. The police also said that the accused persons had visited Pakistain. In Pakistain they were taken to a town near the Gwadar port and were trained by two persons from the Pakistain Army.

The training imparted to them involved preparing IEDs, using firearms, AK-47s and committing arson with the help of items of daily use.

The module was busted after the police received intelligence that a Pakistain sponsored module was planning on executing a series of attacks in the country. The police following the raids arrested, Jaan Mohammad Sheikh (47 years old) of Mumbai, Osama (22) of Delhi, Moolchand (47) of Raebareli, Zeeshan Qamar (28) of Prayagraj, Mohammad Abu Bakar (23) of Bahraich, and Mohammad Amir Javed (31) of Lucknow.

Osama and Qamar travelled to Muscat and from there they were taken to Pakistain on a boat. They stayed in Pakistain at a farmhouse in Thatta for 15 days and during this period they received training, senior special cell officer, Neeraj Thakur said.

During the probe the role of Dawood Ibrahim's brother too was revealed. The police learnt that Dawood's brother Anees Ibrahim was coordinating the execution of the attacks. He was also handling the recruitments, finance, logistics and transport through underworld channels largely based in Mumbai.

The ISI has often used Dawood's underworld network to carry out attacks in India. The channel is also crucial for the ISI to ferry across drugs into India and Sri-Lanka, the proceeds of which are used to fund terror activities.

The role of the Dawood network was suspected in the Mumbai train bombings as well as the 26/11 attacks. Considering the underworld knows the city of Mumbai very well, the D-Company
...the Dawood Ibrahim mob. Dawood's an international mobster allied with various terror groups including al-Qaeda. The Pak govt can't seem to catch him, despite having his address and phone number...
has been instrumental in providing logistic support. The first time the name of Dawood cropped up in an act of terror was during the Mumbai 1993 blasts case.

In the current case, the police learnt that an underworld operative Sameer was hired by a Pakistain based person. He coordinated with his contacts to ensure the delivery of arms and ammunition.

An Intelligence Bureau official tells OneIndia that Dawood continues to be an asset for the ISI. It is a well known fact that he lives under the protection of the Pakistain spy agency. While Pakistain continues to deny his presence on its soil, his whereabouts and the operations he launches from the country has come to light on several occasions.

A recent probe by the NIA into the seizure of 300 kilograms of drugs off the coast of Vizhinjam revealed the role of Pakistain. It was found that the operatives were in touch with a Pakistain based drug runner Haji Salim. This is very much part of the Dawood cartel which operates in Pakistain, India and Sri Lanka, an officer explained. The ISI has upped narcotic trade in a bid to use it to orchestrate terror attacks in India, the official also said.
Another One India article adds:
"They formed 2 teams-one was being coordinated by Dawood Ibrahim's brother Anees Ibrahim. It was tasked to get the arms into India from across the border and keeping them concealed here. The other team was to arrange funding via Hawala," he said.

"The arrested have stated that there were 14-15 Bangla speaking persons in their group who might have been taken for similar training. It looks like this operation was closely coordinated from across the border," said Neeraj Thakur, Special CP, Delhi Police Special Cell.

Jailbreak probe said to find 11 Gilboa prisoners started tunnel dig in November
[IsraelTimes] The investigation into the jailbreak of six Palestinian security prisoners from the Gilboa Prison last week has found that inmates of the facility began late last year to dig the tunnel used to escape, with the help of at least five additional prisoners, the Haaretz daily reported on Tuesday.

The six fugitives — two of whom are still at large — escaped by digging through the concrete and metal rebar flooring in their bathroom and removing a slab that led to a series of cavities in the prison’s structure. They used these to leave the compound underground and then tunneled their way up to a road on the south side of the facility.

According to Tuesday’s report, investigators probing last Monday’s escape believe that at least 11 prisoners were involved in the digging of the tunnel, which began as early as November 2020. The Shin Bet security agency, which is leading the investigation, is reportedly questioning the five prisoners believed to have helped the escapees dig.

The prisoners are said to have carried out the digging using plates and pan handles and to have dumped the excavated dirt in the sewer system, in garbage cans, and in hollow shafts they found in their wing.

According to the reports earlier this week, a prison guard who was responsible for maintaining the prison’s sewer system knew of recent blockages in the system due to sand, but did not report the blockages to the prison authorities.

Security officials additionally suspect that many other prisoners in the Gilboa Prison may have known of the escape, according to the Haaretz report, and that another inmate was set to take part in the jailbreak, but changed his mind at the last minute.

Israeli security forces said to arrest brother, cousin of fugitive Palestinian

[IsraelTimes] Manhunt for remaining two Gilboa Prison escapees continues in towns and villages surrounding West Bank city of Jenin.

Israeli security forces arrested the brother and cousin of runaway terrorist Iham Kamamji early on Monday morning, Paleostinian media reported.

According to the reports, Kamamji’s brother Emad, a Jenin resident, was detained, as well as his cousin Qaysar, who hails from the nearby town of Kufr Dan.

In addition to the arrests, security forces were reportedly conducting searches in Yamun, Araqah, Ya’bad and Dan — all towns that lie close to the Paleostinian city of Jenin in the northern West Bank.

A high-ranking commander in the Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw, terror group’s West Bank division was also said to be arrested overnight: Yusef al-Laham, a Bethlehem resident. In total, some 15 Paleostinians had been arrested by Monday morning in connection with the runaways, according to Paleostinian media.

The Shin Bet security agency, which oversees nighttime search-and-arrest operations in the West Bank, did not respond to a request for comment.

Arab businessman, accused of spying for Iran, ordered released to house arrest
[IsraelTimes] Decision comes after questions raised over seriousness of information allegedly conveyed by Yaqoub Abu al-Qia’an, a former Knesset candidate held since June

But questions have arisen regarding the severity of his alleged actions, with his attorneys noting that information he is accused of passing regarding the movements of Defense Minister Benny Gantz and economic activity with the Gulf was already publicly available.
An Arab Israeli millionaire who briefly ran for Knesset with former defense minister Moshe Ya’alon was ordered to be released to house arrest on Tuesday, as he awaits trial on accusations of spying on Israel for Iran.

Yaqoub Abu al-Qia’an, a former politician and Bedouin construction magnate from the northern Negev, has been in jail since June, when he was arrested on suspicion of passing material to a Lebanese-Iraqi man who acted as a go-between for Iranian intelligence figures, according to the Shin Bet security service.

Abu al-Qia’an was indicted at the Southern District Court in Beersheba in July on charges of contact with a foreign agent and passing information to an enemy.

But questions have arisen regarding the severity of his alleged actions, with his attorneys noting that information he is accused of passing regarding the movements of Defense Minister Benny Gantz and economic activity with the Gulf was already publicly available.
*Snicker* And for that Iranian Intelligence paid big bucks.
In late August, the Supreme Court
...the political football known as The Highest Court in the Land, home of penumbrae and emanations...
ordered the Beersheba District Court to rethink a decision by judge Dina Cohen to order Abu al-Qia’an be held behind bars for the remainder of the proceedings.

On Monday, Beersheba District Court judge Nasser Abu Taha overturned Cohen’s decision and agreed to release Abu al-Qia’an to his home in the southern Bedouin city of Rahat.

Abu al-Qia’an will be required to wear an electronic tracker at all times and will be forbidden from using technological devices to communicate with the outside, the judge ruled.

He will not be released until Wednesday, to give the state a chance to appeal the decision.

In 2019, Ya’alon put Abu al-Qia’an onto his Telem party’s slate for the March election of that year. He was never officially registered and did not ultimately make it into the running for Knesset after Telem merged with two other parties to form the Blue and White coalition.

He was arrested on June 10 and held in jug without being able to contact his attorneys for several weeks. His case was only reported in July, once a gag order was lifted.

During the investigation, the Shin Bet determined that Abu al-Qia’an had been in prolonged contact with Leb
...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers, a practice dating back to the heady human sacrifice days of Baal Moloch. Trust them on that...
’s Haidar al-Mashhadani, a fixer for Iranian intelligence.

"As part of these contacts, Abu al-Qia’an provided updates of what was going on in Israel," the security service said. It alleged that he also sought meeting with other Iranians working with al-Mashhadani.

Aside from the intelligence information passed between the sides, the contacts also focused on potential business opportunities in various Arab countries in the region, according to the Shin Bet.

The security service said that the case came to light as part of its ongoing activities in recent years to thwart attempts by Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. Ohio man sentenced to 20 years for plot to attack synagogue
Another idiot whose BFF turned out to be an FBI informant.
[IsraelTimes] Damon Joseph pleaded guilty in May to planning deadly assault on Congregation B’nai Israel in Toledo.

A federal court sentenced an Ohio man to 20 years in prison for planning deadly attacks on a Toledo synagogue.

Damon Joseph of Holland, a Toledo suburb, had pleaded guilty in May to providing material support to a terrorist organization and attempting to commit a hate crime. Along with the prison term, the United States District Court in Toledo sentenced Joseph on Monday to a lifetime of supervised release.

Joseph was 21 in 2018, when he posted recruitment propaganda for the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
terrorist group on social media. FBI
...Formerly one of the world's premier criminal investigation organizations, something for a nation to be proud of. Now it's a political arm of the Deep State oligarchy that is willing to trump up charges, suppress evidence, or take out insurance policies come election time...
agents engaged him online and Joseph said that he wanted to carry out a mass killing attack on a Toledo Jewish target, inspired in part by the mass murder of Jews at a Pittsburgh synagogue in October that year. The attack on the Tree of Life synagogue was the worst on US Jews in history.

Joseph was arrested when he accepted two disabled assault rifles from an undercover FBI agent.

In statements, prosecutors noted that Joseph planned his attack for Shabbat.

"He hoped to cause mass casualties by selecting a time when numerous innocent victims would be present," Acting Assistant Attorney General Mark Lesko of the Justice Department’s National Security Division said.

In court Monday, Joseph said that he was "naive and ignorant of religion."

The cantor at the targeted synagogue, Congregation B’nai Israel, cited the timing of the sentencing.

"How appropriate that he has been sentenced as we commemorate the world’s worst act of terror — 9/11," Ivor Lichterman was quoted as saying by the local CBS affiliate, WTOL11. "Similarly, this is around the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur, the time when Jews seek atonement, not only from God, but equally important, from our fellow man."

The local Jewish federation thanked authorities for preventing an attack.

"We are grateful to the Court, to the FBI, local law enforcement and the US attorney’s office for the Northern District of Ohio for their careful attention and diligence in bringing Mr. Joseph to justice and for protecting our community," the federation said in a statement reported by WTOL11.

Bennett: I don’t see any logic in meeting with Mahmoud Abbas
Finally someone says it out loud.
[IsraelTimes] Prime Minister Naftali Bennett says that he sees no logic or reason for him to meet with Paleostinian Authority leader the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
...aka Abu Mazen, a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial. While no Yasser Arafat, he has his own brand of evil, just a little more lowercase....
.

"I don’t see any logic in meeting someone who is suing IDF soldiers at The Hague and accusing them of war crimes, and at the same time paying salaries to terrorists," Bennett tells the Kan public broadcaster. "I don’t see the logic in meeting him."

Bennett says that he maintains his long-standing position that there should not be a Paleostinian state.

"I oppose a Paleostinian state — I think it would be a terrible mistake," he says. "I won’t do that."

At the same time, Bennett says, he agrees with the approach of Defense Minister Benny Gantz in maintaining ties and connections with Paleostinian officials in order to maintain calm and security coordination.

But, he adds, there is no current possibility of restarting peace talks with the Paleostinians.

"We all understand that at the moment it’s not relevant," he says.

Bennett granted interviews to all three major TV networks as well as multiple newspapers and news sites ahead of Yom Kippur.

Four people sentenced to death over 2013 police station attack in Upper Egypt
The article does not say that these are final sentences after all appeals and reviews have been exhausted, so I assume this is yet another interim step in the very thorough Hell that is the Egyptian court system.
[AlAhram] A Minya Criminal court has sentenced four people to death by hanging and 22 others to life in prison for raiding and torching a cop shoppe, which resulted in the death of two coppers, in August 2013 in Samalut, Minya.

The criminal court has also sentenced 20 defendants to 15 years in prison and 15 others to 10 years. It also acquitted one defendant in the case.

Ten defendants were dismissed from the trial as they were granted a presidential pardon in June 2018.

The case dates back to August 2013, when a wave of violence was perpetrated by supporters of ousted Islamist president Mohammed Morsi across the country.

The violence, which broke out after police dispersed two large pro-Morsi sit-ins in Cairo and Giza, involved attacks on cop shoppes and churches that left 686 dead, including 64 members of the police, according to Egypt’s National Council of Human Rights.

All the defendants in the case have also been ordered to pay over EGP 22 million as compensation for the buildings that were destroyed.

US mosque-bomber gets 53 years in prison
Follow up to this story from yesterday.
[AlAhram] Emily Claire Hari, 50, was convicted last year on five counts including the bombing, destruction of religious property and using force to obstruct worship, the department said in a statement late Monday

A transgender woman who led a militia called The White Rabbits has been sentenced to 53 years in prison for bombing a Minnesota mosque in 2017, the Justice Department announced.

Emily Claire Hari, 50, was convicted last year on five counts including the bombing, destruction of religious property and using force to obstruct worship, the department said in a statement late Monday.

It said that Hari -- who at the time identified as a man, Michael Hari -- organized a "terrorist militia group" named The White Rabbits in Clarence, Illinois.

Hari recruited two men, Michael McWhorter and Joe Morris, into the group, and on August 5, they attacked the Dar al-Farooq Islamic Center (DAF) in Bloomington, Minnesota, around 500 miles (800 kilometers) away.

In the early morning hours, as some people were gathering at the mosque for prayers, they broke a window and threw containers of volatile fuel and a pipe bomb inside, which exploded, causing heavy damage.

"Hari targeted DAF specifically to terrorize Muslims into believing they are not welcome in the United States and should leave the country," the department said.

In January 2019, McWhorter and Morris pleaded guilty to the bombing, while Hari fought the case at trial.

Hari's two accomplices have not yet been sentenced.

"Hari sought to terrorize an entire faith community. Today's sentence makes clear that such acts of hate-fueled terror will not be tolerated," said Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco in a statement.

US says nearly 500 Afghan citizens evacuated from Uzbekistan
[AlAhram] Uzbekistan had mostly withheld comment on the number and status of the refugees as it looked to cultivate ties with the Taliban

The United States said Tuesday it had evacuated nearly 500 "military and civilian" Afghans from Uzbekistan, while the ex-Soviet country declared there were now no Afghan refugees on its territory.

The days leading up to the Taliban's capture of Kabul caused scenes of chaos in Afghanistan's Central Asian neighbours Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, as soldiers loyal to the crumbling government fled over state borders in military aircraft.

But a US embassy front man told AFP Tuesday it had evacuated 494 "military and civilian" Afghans out of Uzbekistan's southern Termez airport with the Uzbek government's help.

"The evacuation was completed September 12-13," the front man told AFP by telephone, making no comment on the final destination of the refugees.

Uzbek foreign ministry front man Yusup Kabulzhanov on Monday confirmed the evacuation in comments to the privately-owned Kun.uz outlet.

"All Afghan refugees have left the territory of Uzbekistan", he said, without giving figures.

A staffer at Afghanistan's embassy told AFP last month that up to 1,500 Afghans might have crossed into Uzbekistan illegally after the Taliban secured control of the northern stronghold Mazar-e-Sharif in mid-August and began beating a path towards Kabul.

In a rare statement on the refugees in August, Uzbekistan said it had returned 150 people to Afghanistan at their own request and following talks with the Taliban to guarantee their safety.

The EU statement cited the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) as saying that "up to 50,000 refugees could be registered in Tajikistan after the total withdrawal of American and NATO

The statement comes after Interior Minister Ramazon Hamro Rahimzoda earlier this month criticised international donors for failing to help Tajikistan house refugees.

Afghanistan is set to dominate discussions at the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation -- a bloc that includes four ex-Soviet Central Asian countries, China, India, Pakistain and Russia -- hosted by Tajikistan this week.

Holding pen, Chris. They were temporarily cached there, among other garden spots, so the airplanes could turn around more quickly to pick up the next load from Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul. Also, it gives the State Department more time to figure out who among the passengers should never have been allowed on the airplane or into the U.S.

Gunmen free 240 inmates from Nigerian prison
[IsraelTimes] A prison authority front man says that heavily armed button men stormed a jail in Nigeria’s central Kogi state overnight, freeing scores of inmates.

It is unclear who the button men were but central and northwest Nigeria have been terrorized by criminal gangs for years.

"The medium Security Custodial Centre in Kabba, Kogi State, has been attacked by yet to be identified button men and 240 inmates forcefully released," Nigeria’s correctional service front man Francis Enobore says in a statement.

At about 2245 GMT, he says, numerous attackers "engaged the armed guards in a fierce shootout."

153 Afghan Media Outlets Cease Operating in Less Than 1 Month
[KhaamaPress] Organizations supporting free media in Afghanistan said on Monday that since the fall of the former government in mid-August, 153 media outlets have stopped activity in 20 provinces.

According to officials at the organizations, these outlets include radio, print and TV channels, and both economic problems and restrictions are reportedly the main reasons.

The officials said that if the media’s financial crisis is not solved and restrictions against them are not addressed, more outlets are likely to cease operating in the country.

"If the organizations supporting media do not pay attention to media outlets, soon we will witness the closing of the remaining outlets in the country," said Hujatullah Mujadadi, the deputy head of the Afghanistan Federation of Journalists.

"The continuation of this trend has created concerns. We urge the international organizations to take immediate action to address this problem. Otherwise, soon it will be the end of press freedom and other human and civil liberties," said Masroor Lutfi, representative of the Afghanistan National Journalists’ Union.

Officials from the media outlets that have ceased operating confirmed that due to economic problems and restrictions they were not able to operate anymore.

Milma Radio, stationed in Paktika
...which coincidentally borders South Wazoo...
, is one of the outlets that recently stopped its activities. The radio was established in 2011 and covered political, cultural, economic and sports stories.

"Due to an inappropriate working environment and economic problems, we stopped our activities," said Yaqob Khan Manzoor, editor-in-chief of the radio.

According to Manzoor, Milma Radio had 35 employees with an outreach to 13 provinces. Now all of the former employees are jobless.

Jamaluddin Elham, a former news hound at the radio, said: "Unfortunately, due to economic problems our radio station has ceased operating."

"The radio station stopped its activities due to economic shortcomings, and we lost our jobs," said Mohammad Ikram Shahab, a news hound.

The organizations supporting free media in Afghanistan say economic problems are serious, and operating under restrictions creates big challenges for media.

The Taliban
...Arabic for students...
, however, has said they will try to create safe environment for media and journalists to continue their jobs.

UN Raises Concerns Over Civilian Casualties In Panjshir
[ToloNews] UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet on Monday at the UN meeting on Afghanistan in Geneva said she is worried about reports over civilian casualties and human rights

violations in Panjshir.

"I am worried about reports of civilian casualties and human rights violations as an outcome of war in Panjshir and also am worried about the increasing hardship of living conditions there," she said.

Bachelet also raised concerns over the Taliban

’s reprisals against employees of the former government and said non-government organizations and civil society organizations offices have also been attacked.

"We have received worrying information about the Taliban’s raids on some NGOs and civil society groups’ offices," she said.

Meanwhile,
...back at the comedy club, Boogie ducked another tomato...
a number of Panjshir residents said they have witnessed incidents of civilian killings and people being forced to leave their houses.

Nawida Azizi, a resident of Panjshir, said: "The forceful migration of Panjshir people has caused the people to leave their houses and go to other provinces."

"They announced a general amnesty, but they violated the amnesty and human rights and killed innocent people," said Sahil Arman, a resident of Panjshir.

The Taliban, however, rejected the allegations and asked the UN to take a "closer look."

"We strongly reject the report of Human Rights Watch, which says that the Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan have committed war crimes against humanity. The organization should not fall prey to the misinformation of the enemy and should not prepare such false reports based on it. They need to take a closer look at the area and find out the facts for themselves," the Taliban’s front man Zabihullah Mujahid tweeted.

Meanwhile,

Ahmad Wali Massoud, a leader of the Resistance® Front, in an interview with Deutsche Welle accused the Taliban of forcing people to leave their homes.

"The Taliban has forced hundreds of families to leave Panjshir. The Resistance® Front has asked the world countries for support, but until now there has not been any response," he said.

Abdulhaq Emad, a Taliban official, however, said the people have themselves left the area and the Taliban did not force them to leave their houses. "It is not a policy of the Taliban to force people to leave their homes and areas. The people themselves have left, as it happens in all Afghanistan, the Taliban have not prevented them from leaving," he said.

Meanwhile,

a video on social media shows a number of residents of Gizab district in Daikundi province saying the Taliban has given them nine days to leave their houses.

The Taliban have not commented on this video.

Kabul Airport Employees, Including Women, Return to Work
[ToloNews] Kabul International Airport security employees, including women employees, have returned to their jobs, the employees said on Monday.

The employees said the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
asked them to resume their jobs. They said the operations at the airport are returning to normal.

Lida, one of the 100 female security employees at the airport, said she is happy to return to her job after more than two weeks of staying at home.

"We were about to get a salary but then the Taliban came and we did not receive our salaries. Now we are working for free," she said.

"We are happy that they asked us to resume our work. We want the government to pay us a salary from now on," said Zahra Amiri, an employee at the airport.

The border police who used to guard the airport have also returned to their jobs. They, however, refused to talk on camera.

Some security employees at the airport who used to work for a separate company said the Taliban also asked them to return to their jobs. They said now they belong to the civil aviation authority.

"In fact, we are the employees of the civil aviation authority. The civil aviation authority employees also come here every day," said Noorullah Omarzoy, an employee at the airport.

"Now we do not know to which department we belong. If we say that we belong to the company, we are not. We may belong to the civil authority, and we hope the authority fulfills the promises it has made to us," said Shabir Ahmad Khpolwak, an employee at the airport.

Following the fall of the former government on August 15, most babus government employees have not returned to their jobs.

A number of residents say the Taliban should ask the former babus government employees to return to their jobs and carry on with their duties because they are skilled enough and know the systems.

Amina Haqparast, a civil society activist, pointing to the professionalism and skills of the former babus government employees, said: "The educated and experienced individuals that we had in the former government should be used in this government too and their role should not be ignored," she said.

Despite several attempts, TOLOnews was unable to obtain the Taliban’s comment regarding the return of airport employees.

Intl Community Pledges $1 Billion for Afghanistan
These people are nuts.
[ToloNews] The international community at the UN meeting in Geneva on Monday, which was attended by more than 90 states, pledged over $1 billion in humanitarian aid for Afghanistan, said UN Secretary General António Guterres
...Portuguese politician and diplomat, ninth Secretary-General of the United Nations. Previously, he was the UN High Commissioner for Refugees between 2005 and 2015. He was the Prime Minister of Portugal from 1995 to 2002 and was the Secretary-General of the Socialist Party from 1992 to 2002. He served as President of the Socialist International from 1999 to 2005. In both a 2012 and 2014 poll, the Portuguese public ranked him as the best Prime Minister of the previous 30 years...
"This conference has fully met my expectations. There are 156 participants, including 90+ States. This shows how crucial Afghanistan is for the international community. More than 1 billion USD has been pledged," he said.

The meeting was held at the request of Guterres to provide humanitarian aid for the people of Afghanistan.

The meeting was joined by representatives of many countries and international non-governmental organizations, both physically and virtually.

Guterres at the meeting urged the participants to pledge support for the people of Afghanistan. "The people of Afghanistan need a lifeline. After decades of war, suffering and insecurity, they face perhaps their most perilous hour. Now is the time for the international community to stand with them." He spoke.

Guterres said the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Martin Griffiths, traveled to Kabul last week and met with the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
leadership and the Taliban have said they will cooperate in delivering assistance to the people of Afghanistan.

"The de facto authorities pledged — in person and in a follow-up letter to Under-Secretary General Griffiths — that they will cooperate to ensure assistance is delivered to the people of Afghanistan," Guterres said.

Guterres entreated the participants to provide $606 million to provide urgent assistance to 11 million people in need in Afghanistan, saying that the UN is providing $20 million. "Today we are announcing a $20 million allocation from the UN’s Central Emergency Response Fund to support the humanitarian operation in Afghanistan," he added.

He also said the United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
Humanitarian Air Services (UNHAS) has established an airbridge from Pakistain to Afghanistan and is transporting assistance to Afghanistan.

He also called on the international community to protect the progress made in the last two decades in Afghanistan.

The meeting participants also called for the preservation of the achievements made in the past two decades, especially for the rights of women, girls and minorities, and for women and girls' access to education and work. They also called on the Taliban to respect humanitarian laws.

German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said "the Taliban has to respect basic human rights
One man's rights are another man's existential threat.
," and that his country pledges five million euros to provide humanitarian support to Afghanistan.

Dominic Raab, Secretary of State for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, meanwhile raised the UK’s concern over regional instability and said his country will provide aid to Afghanistan via aid organizations. "We will not give aid directly to the Taliban," he said.

The US ambassador to the UN, Linda Thompson-Greenfield, speaking virtually at the meeting, called on the Taliban to uphold the commitments they have made to the United States and the international community. She said the United States continues to provide aid to the people of Afghanistan. She pledged $64 million in new humanitarian assistance, and will assess the on-the-ground situation and consider future assistance, she said.

Sofía Sprechmann Sineiro, secretary-general of CARE International, meanwhile said NGOs can handle delivering aid in complex situations and called for resources and diversity in aid delivery and the participation of Afghan women in the process.
Other participants also said things, none of which is in the least bit interesting.
Khaama Press adds:
Among the countries, UK pledged over 200 million pounds, the US pledged USD$64 million, Japan USD$200 million, La Belle France 100 million euros, Germany 5 million euros, and UN $20 million.

Haftar-Saleh Meet President El-Sisi in Cairo
[LIBYAREVIEW] On Monday, Egyptian President, Abdel-Fatah El-Sisi received Libyan Parliament Speaker, Ageela Saleh, and Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army (LNA) Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar
...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy, so it's kind of hard to describe him as a Qadaffy holdover. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all. Actually, he is, but slowly...
. They held a meeting attended by the Head of the Egyptian General Intelligence, Major General Abbas Kamel.
Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency, Bassam Radi said that they discussed the latest developments in Libya. As well as the distinguished relationship between the two neighbours.

The meeting confirmed that the stability of Libya at the political and security levels, is a part of Egypt’s national security.

President El-Sisi welcomed the Libyan leaders, and praised their efforts to restore security and stability, and preserve illusory sovereignty and unity.

He affirmed that Egypt will continue to coordinate with all Libyan parties during the coming period. As well as confirming Egypt’s support to ensure the unity and cohesion of Libya’s national institutions, and that the December general elections take place as scheduled.

The President reiterated his rejection of foreign interference in the country, which "aims to implement its own agendas at the expense of the Libyan people." He stressed the importance of withdrawing all foreign forces and mercenaries from Libyan territory.

In turn, the two Libyan officials expressed their appreciation for Egypt’s role in Libya. They praised the Egyptian contribution to the unification of the LNA, and welcomed Egyptian expertise in benefitting Libya.

Haftar and Saleh confirmed their keenness to strengthen the security track, by having all foreign forces withdraw from Libya. This would "enable security institutions to carry out their responsibilities, and contribute to restoring security and stability throughout the country.

Hawley threatens hold on State, Defense noms unless Blinken, Austin, Sullivan resign
[NYPOST] Sen. Josh Hawley is threatening to place a hold on all of President Joe Biden
...... 46th president of the U.S. We get to suffer the consequences. So does Afghanistan, aka Biden's Bungle......
’s civilian nominees for positions at the Department of Defense and the State Department at the secretary and deputy levels unless Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan resign over the administration’s chaotic troop withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Hawley argued that the Biden administration (aka the Wilmington comorra)
...the gang of subgeniuses trying to pass themselves off as the adults in charge of the series of calamities characteristic of the administration of a mentally challenged geriatric case...
has failed to take responsibility for the botched withdrawal that led to the deaths of 13 US servicemembers and at least 100 Americans left stranded, and that his move is necessary to hold those at the top accountable.

"This was never necessary. It did not have to be this way and it shouldn’t have been. Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. I'm not working for you. Don't be such a horse's ass. Don't say he didn't warn us...
is responsible for today’s failure and now there must be accountability. Instead, the president’s team is even now coming to Capitol Hill and blaming others, shirking responsibility — that’s cowardly. And I, for one, am not willing to look the other way," he said on the Senate floor on Tuesday afternoon.

"So let me be clear, I will not consent to the nomination of any nominee for the Department of Defense or for the Department of State until Secretary Austin and Secretary Blinken and Jake Sullivan resign — leaders take responsibility for their failures and the failure of these individuals, the failure of this administration has cost Americans their lives and has left American civilians to the enemy. There must be accountability and there must be a new start."

In addition to calling for the administration officials’ resignations, Hawley went as far as calling for President Biden’s resignation over his "disgraceful" handling of the withdrawal, slamming his remarks calling the evacuation a "success."

"This president is a disgrace. His behavior is disgraceful. He has dishonored this country with his shameful leadership in this crisis and it is time for him to resign," he said.

"And if he had the responsibility of leadership, he would resign for the crisis that he has himself led this nation into and the responsibility he bears for the lives that have been lost and for the American citizens who are even now as I speak trapped in Afghanistan, left to the enemy because of his failures and his shameful, disgraceful leadership."

Hawley’s vow to blockade nominees could lead to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer
...Senator-for-life from New York, renowned for his love of standing in front of cameras and microphones. Schumer has been a professional politician since 1975, when disco was in flower, which is 45.77634 years, or 320.43438 years in dog years. Senate minority leader as of 2017...
(D-N.Y.) to take procedural steps to confirm individuals who would likely easily pass by voice vote.

The move comes as Blinken faced heated criticism from members on both sides of the aisle during a Senate Committee on Foreign Relations hearing, where politicians grilled the secretary on an array of missteps that critics argue alienated US allies, weakened the country’s ability to gather intel from adversaries in the region and potentially heighten the risk of an attack on the homeland.

Russian Foreign Ministry confirms US interference in Russian elections
[TASS] Media reports claiming that Moscow is in possession of a large amount of evidence regarding the intervention of US intelligence agencies and IT companies in the Russian elections is correct, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Tuesday.

"The information, reported in the Kommersant article is true," the diplomat noted.

On Tuesday, the Kommersant newspaper reported, citing a diplomatic source, that Russia has a ‘colossal amount’ of unreleased information regarding US intervention in the Russian elections.
Couldn't find the report. Sorry.
Earlier, Zakharova pointed out that, according to the Russian national IT watchdog, IP addresses, associated with the ‘Smart Vote’ app technical support are mostly located in the US, adding that its developers have connections to the Pentagon.
Russian nationwide legislative elections (Russian Duma) will take place on September 19th.

Gunmen kidnap 20 foreigners, likely from Haiti and Venezuela, from Mexico hotel
[JPost] Illegals discover it's not safe to slam our borders, despite Joe's welcome wagon?
Gunmen stormed a hotel in Mexico's central San Luis Potosi state on Tuesday and kidnapped some 20 foreigners believed to be mostly from Haiti and Venezuela, the state's attorney general's office said.

The gunmen ransacked the building and took off with the logbook of guests, making it hard to identify who was kidnapped at the Sol y Luna hotel in Matehuala, about 195 kilometers (121 miles) north of the city of San Luis Potosi, the regional capital.

"We are trying to find their identities," Arturo Garza Herrera, the attorney general of the state, said in a statement.

The authorities have launched an investigation and are trying to rescue the guests, Garza added.

The statement did not clarify if the kidnapped Haitians and Venezuelans were migrants heading to the United States.

Many migrants face extreme dangers on their route to the United States, with kidnappings, extortion, rape and even murders reported. Some migrants are also conscripted to work for drug cartels fighting over drug trafficking routes.

In June, a human rights group reported that some 3,300 migrants stranded in Mexico since January due to a US border policy have been kidnapped, raped, trafficked or assaulted.

Department of Homeland Security Chief of Staff Karen Olick resigns as department grapples with migrant crisis at southern border and an influx of 100K Afghan refugees
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas' chief of staff has submitted her resignation, as DHS works to tackle a migrant crisis at the southern border and a sudden influx of tens of thousands of Afghan refugees.

Karen Olick announced Monday she would be leaving for an undisclosed opportunity, according to Politico.

Jennifer Higgins, the current associate director of Refugee, Asylum and International Operations at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, will step in as temporary chief of staff after Olick leaves at the end of the month.

Mayorkas told DHS officials in an email Olick 'has decided to resign her position and pursue new opportunities. We are grateful to Karen for her service during the critical first nine months of the new Administration.'

DHS is in the midst of not only helping to vet tens of thousands of Afghan refugees who were evacuated out of Kabul last month and handling an unprecedented flow of migrants colonists at the southern border but also taking the lead on responding to the impacts of Hurricane Ida.

Taliban Looking for Washington, D.C., Lobbyist to Gain Legitimacy from Biden Administration
[Breitbart] Why not place a few IT admins into congress while they are at it?
The Taliban on Monday was reportedly looking for a Washington, D.C., lobbyist to gain legitimacy from President Joe Biden.

"Sign of the times: hearing the Taliban is in the market for a lobbyist in DC, offering a lucrative contract. The narrative around their financial situation, is that they’re broke," a BBC reporter based in Washington, D.C., tweeted:

Biden, however, already may be legitimizing the Taliban by allowing the United Nations to give aid to the Afghan people, which is facilitated by the Taliban terrorists in a type of partnership, similar to the one in which the Taliban secured the outer perimeter of the Kabul airport where 13 U.S. troops were killed.

#5  The problem with that is that FacistBook and the others often don't give the parents tools to filter their children's access outside of banning the entire site (I know... not bad...). The only thing a parent can do is ban Instagram entirely.
I typically don't allow my young kids access to YouTube or Facebook or any of the other social media sites. I would *love* to have them able to converse with their friends via social media or share videos but I would have to open it up entirely - and I do not like what the perverts at FacistBook, Goole/Youtube/etc consider 'acceptable for young viewers'. Not at all.

#7  Every stage of a successful life involves controlled deprivation from stuff everyone wants. Attention when you are young. Who loves that kid who always needs to be the center of attention? Too many distractions when you are a young adult transitioning to hopefully self-sufficient adulthood. Neither too dominant or submissive in your adult relationships. Not too much food or booze and please no ciggies or drugs. Hopefully well enough set in your later years to take care of yourself or be cared for. All involve not being completely addicted to a screen that sucks your time and attention and gives nothing back.

I went straight from Lassie, Gentle Ben, and that animal thing to Soap and Saturday Night Live. As a result, I have never been quite connected to the culture of my age mates, or of Americans in general. It’s not just cussing that Mr, Wife has to translate for me — there are lots of cultural touchstones I’m unaware of, even yet. We did read voraciously, that thing everyone claims to want, and had time for all sorts of hobbies and activities, but not being connected matters.

There are seriously good reasons to deny this generation of kids time on Facebook, etc, but doing so will result in disconnecting those kids from their peers in important ways.

The Profaci ruled the mob until the late 1950s, when an internal struggle involved its greediest. The "family" was reunited in the early 1960s under Joseph Colombo. After sixty years the claim (probably made by FBI propagandists) that the ENTIRE Colombo leadership was "taken down" really remains to be seen.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. Former Lebanon PM leaves for US hours after judge subpoenas him over Beirut blast
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Former Lebanese PM Hassan Diab was on his way to the US on Tuesday, according to media reports and his advisor.

The news surfaced hours after Lebanon’s judge tasked with investigating the 2020 Beirut blast issued a second subpoena over his role in the catastrophic explosion.

Diab’s advisor said he had scheduled this trip before the judge’s decision and that his kids are reportedly studying in the United States.

Diab stepped down days after the Beirut blast in August 2020 but stayed on as caretaker premier until last week.

While a caretaker PM, Diab was subpoenaed by the same judge who issued the order on Tuesday, but he refused to appear for questioning.

Lawmakers said the judge overstepped his limitations and refused to lift parliamentary immunity, which they claim is needed for a judge to question an official.

The date for Diab’s latest subpoena is set for next Monday.

Diab, formerly employed by the American University of Beirut (AUB), sued the university last year, claiming that he was owed severance pay and retirement funds. He was seeking over $1 million in the lawsuit, according to senior AUB officials.

Top Democrat on Senate committee slams Biden admin, US withdrawal from Afghanistan
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The top Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Tuesday blasted the Biden administration (aka the Wilmington comorra)
...the pack of self-imagined masterminds of strategy and intrigue at the service of the Biden Crime Family and a grateful nation...
over its handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal and threatened to subpoena the US defense secretary to testify.

During the second day of a committee hearing on Afghanistan to question Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Senator Bob Menendez revealed that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin refused to testify. But Menendez said he might subpoena Austin "in the near future" if he does not step forward to testify.

"I expect that the [Defense] Secretary will avail himself to the committee in the near future. If he does not, I may consider the use of the committee’s subpoena power to compel him and others over the course of these last 20 years to testify," Menendez said.

"A full accounting of the US response to this crisis is not complete without the Pentagon, especially when it comes to understanding the complete collapse of the US-trained and funded Afghan military," he added.

While Menendez said the decision to withdraw from Afghanistan was the right move, he said the manner in which it was carried out was wrong.

The US withdrawal was "clearly and fatally flawed."

The Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
took over within days despite US intelligence reports suggesting that the Afghan government and army would be able to fend for themselves for at least two months.

And since then, the US has refused to recognize the Taliban-run government despite ongoing communication between the murderous Moslems and US officials.

UAE highlights economic achievements of Israel ties after a year of Abraham Accords
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The UAE realized "exceptional growth and significant economic achievements" in its partnership with Israel since year passed after the signing of the Abraham Accords, Emirati Minister of Economy said on Tuesday.

The UAE signed the US-brokered Abraham Accord, agreeing to normalize relations with Israel in September 2020. Since then, the two countries have accelerated establishing trade and investment ties and there has been a marked increase in tourism exchange.

The UAE’s minister Abdullah bin Touq al-Marri highlighted some of the major achievements: non-oil trade exchange rate of nearly $700 million, and nearly 60 major agreements were signed at the government and private sector levels.

"[The agreements] cover a number of important future sectors that play a great important role on the economic agenda of the two countries, such as science and technology, artificial intelligence techniques, tourism, logistics, transportation, healthcare, energy, environment, research and development, modern agriculture, water solutions and irrigation," al-Marri said.

"The next stage will witness more agreements and memoranda of understanding to further expand the scope of economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries and to achieve new levels of progress in the growing relations," he added.

Morocco dismantles ISIS cell, arrests three
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Moroccan authorities have dismantled a cell of ISIS-affiliated bully boyz and arrested three suspects accused of plotting an liquidation, security services said Tuesday.

The suspects, detained in the southern city of Errachidia, had planned "crimes of a terrorist nature against individuals" and selected a public servant for "imminent liquidation," according to the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ), which oversees counter-terrorism operations.

Security forces searched the suspects’ homes and a shop, where they found military clothing, krazed killer literature and information, it said.

The head of the cell was "active in recruiting from the among followers of traditional religious trends," said the statement carried by the MAP state news agency.

The suspects, aged between 21 and 37, "had shared digital content of a terrorist nature such as those documenting suicide kabooms and killings carried out by ISIS" it said, using an Arabic acronym for ISIS.

They were remanded in jug for further investigations on the cell’s potential international links, its plans and any other people "involved in its krazed killer activities," the statement said, warning that Morocco continues to face the threat of terror attacks.

Since 2002, Moroccan security services have dismantled more than 2,000 krazed killer cells and made over 3,500 arrests linked to terrorism, according to BCIJ figures published in February.

-War on Police-
Crime soars in Minneapolis as cops fear being unfairly targeted in woke viral videos
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] Proactive policing in Minneapolis plunged dramatically following the murder of George Floyd last year, even as violent mostly peaceful crime soared, a new analysis reveals as the city prepares to vote on a ballot initiative to abolish the police department.

In the year following Floyd's death, traffic stops in Minneapolis plunged 74 percent, patrols of known problem areas were down 76 percent, and stops of suspicious people plunged 75 percent, according to a Rooters investigation.

Confidential police sources said that part of the slowdown was due to a staffing shortage amid an exodus from the department, but that much of the reduction in policing was due to a fear of being caught up in an incident that could go viral in a climate of anti-cop sentiment.

One officer said that some Minneapolis cops even deliberately take a longer route than necessary to respond to 911 calls, in the hope that whatever the emergency is, it will be resolved by the time they arrive.

In April, the average police response time to priority 911 calls was 40 percent longer than it had been a year earlier, Rooters found.

With fewer police stops, cops have fewer chances to recover illegal drugs and guns, and violent mostly peaceful crime has soared, with the murder rate in Minneapolis on pace to hit a 20-year high. Some residents now call the city a 'gangster's paradise'.

Great Society 3.0 means all kinds of set-asides for tailor-made NGO's their spouses can have a hand in. At the rate this is going, we might have Asians, blacks and Hispanics voting overwhelmingly Republican just to get police protection. White libs don't care - they don't live in places that require police protection. I'm hoping that murder rates get back to where they were in the early 90's. Correct. This is what's known as a "revolution from above" -- a permanent consolidation of power by a combination of extra-legal and legal means.

"Great Society 3.0" has a distinctly Woke, post-COVID flavor. This time, the focus is not on government spending programs aimed at ghetto recipients but on massive giveaways aimed at creating a permanent, central role for the state in everyone's life:
- UBI
- selective law enforcement / end of equal protection
- the crippling of law enforcement everywhere
- institutionalized voting fraud and manipulation of outcomes via absentee balloting shenanigans that are now standard in every urban area and most blue states
- politicization of the US military at all levels
- maoist "struggle sessions" & political re-education efforts led by race-hucksters

2) Woke US will continue to rule the "commanding heights" of the federal administrative state, top brass in the Pentagon, the intelligence community, Big Tech and the Fortune 500's leadership ranks, the media, entertainment and academe

1) + 2) = the fragmentation / separation is not going to happen peacefully.

Amnesty Alert: Proposed Bill ‘Blows Away All Numerical Limits' on Employer-Based Green Cards ‐ for an Entire Decade
They do like their drama in the House, but most of those bills never make it out of committee, let alone get passed and sent up to the Senate. Still, it is revealing what the radical Democrats would like to do, if only they could persuade their centrists to go along with their stupid ideas.
[Breitbart] The Democrats’ proposed amnesty for migrants creates a hidden pipeline for U.S. employers to flood more cheap foreign graduates into millions of middle-class careers needed by American graduates.

’This is the American aristocratic class being rewarded for being in financial bed with the Democratic Party," said Robert Law, director of regulatory affairs and policy for the Center for Immigration Studies.

Democrat leaders "are blowing away all the numerical limits" on employers offering green cards to employees, said Rosemary Jenks, policy director for NumbersUSA. "There’s no limit anywhere."

The bill was revealed Friday, and on Monday, was quickly rushed through the House judiciary committee without C-SPAN coverage. Mark Zuckerberg’s astroturf empire is marketing it as a relief bill for deserving illegal migrants — but it boosts investors by dramatically expanding the flow of cheap workers, government-funded consumers, and room-sharing renters into the U.S. economy. Democrat leaders hope to squeeze the bill through the Senate via the 50-vote reconciliation process.

The expanded foreign worker pipeline will remain open until at least September 2031, even though many millions of Americans will need jobs during the next ten years after they graduate with debts and degrees in health care, accounting, teaching, business, design, science, technology, or engineering. "If you’re in the pipeline by September 30, 2031, you’re in [the 2021 amnesty bill]," Jenks added.

The new pipeline is created in Section 60003 on page 12 of the draft bill, which says, "The secretary of State shall exempt an alien (and the spouse and children of each alien) from the numerical limitations described in sections 201, 202, and 203."

Section 201 sets annual limits of 226,000 green cards for "family-sponsored preference" and the "employer-based" green cards that companies can offer to cooperative foreign workers. Section 202 sets so-called country caps for Indian or Chinese workers who are trying to earn green cards via their employers.

The white-collar pipeline is hidden under obscure legal references, and it connects and widens existing pipelines that are unmentioned in the amnesty bill. The pipelines include the well-known H-1B program and the little-known but huge Optional Practical Training (OPT) program invented by deputies working for President George W. Bush. A similar pipeline expansion was included in the January immigration bill introduced by Biden’s deputies.

The imported visa workers are fed into an indentured workforce that now includes at least one million foreign graduates, including J-1 science workers, L-1 managers, and Curricular Practical Training students. The workforce also includes an uncertain number of illegal white-collar workers, including B-1/B-2 visitors.

These pipelines bring roughly 600,000 foreign graduates into the U.S. workforce each year — although about half leave after two to three years — even as about 800,000 Americans graduate from four-year c0lleges with technology-intensive degrees, such as engineering, health care, management, science, software, and architecture.

The draft bill also allows the roughly one million foreign students in the United States into the green card pipeline — along with all future foreign college graduates who get into the pipeline by late 2031.

They call it "transformation" but the goal is clear: eliminate entirely our form of govt and our western heritage with their commitment to rule of law, limited government, equal opportunity not equal outcomes, judaeo-christian family and communal norms etc

#3  Please tell me 6 miles and 8000 ft isn't a blast radius

...It's not. However...

First, I'm assuming the bird landed mostly intact - but 'damage' in this case can be a flexible word. Keep in mind too that 'damage' could expose certain components of the airframe that we don't normally see to prying eyes. Thirty years old it may be, but the B-2 is still one of our crown jewels - better safe than sorry.

Secondly - and perhaps just as relevant - a B-2, F-35, F-22 (and to a lesser extent F-16s) accident scene is by definition a HAZMAT site. The USAF has lived in quiet fear for some years now that environmental groups will come after them because of the high health risks associated with these airframes - see also the so-far futile efforts of some folks employed at Groom Lake who say their cancers were caused by some of the materials they worked with.

#8  Just for stinky stuff and giggles, I ran the numbers that would call for an 6-mile exclusion area "in case" of accidental detonation.

The B-83 1300KT Mod ## that the B-2 commonly carries, is too big for only a 6-mile safety zone. With even the Light blast damage radius out to 12.5 km and 3rd degree burns out to 11.6 km

But a B-61 300KT Mod ## "accidental" surface detonation would fit right in. With Light blast damage radius out to maybe 2.0 km and 3rd degree burns out to 7.58 km.

Israeli historian says there was no genocide in Srebrenica
[REGNUM] It is naive to believe that the law prohibiting denial of the “genocide in Srebrenica” was adopted by the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Valentin Inzko, just at the moment when the results of the work of independent international commissions investigating crimes against Serbs in Sarajevo in 1991-1995 were published. and to investigate crimes against representatives of all peoples in the region of Srebrenica 1992-1995.

This was stated by the Chairman of the Commission on Srebrenica, Israeli scientist Gideon Greif during an international conference dedicated to the report of independent experts on Sarajevo and Srebrenica, which was held at the Foundation for the Support of Public Diplomacy. A.M. Gorchakova on September 14, a REGNUM correspondent reports .

Thus, Greif answered the question of IA REGNUM , is it a mere coincidence that literally in a matter of days after the first submission of the report of the independent commission in the Republika Srpska, the former High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina Valentin Intsko introduced a law banning the denial of the "genocide in Srebrenica" territory of BiH.

Let us remind you that the commission of independent international experts, headed by Greif, came to the conclusion that war crimes were committed in Srebrenica, but there was no genocide of Muslims.

"I think it was not accidental. But this does not scare us, we firmly adhere to our positions, we believe in every word of the document that we have drawn up, and nothing will force us to abandon our conclusions, since we dealt with this issue very seriously and scientifically," Greif said.

Recall that Gideon Greif is an Israeli historian who specializes in the study of the history of the Holocaust. He teaches in Australia, Estonia, Israel, Germany, Poland and the USA. In 1986, Greif recorded interviews with 31 prisoners of the Auschwitz camp and based on their stories he compiled the book We Wept Without Tears, which was translated into 12 languages. He also dealt with the issue of the Serb genocide in World War II.

China's Xi refuses Biden's offer of face-to-face summit
[JPost] "I don't talk to the puppet. I talk at the puppeteers, and quit sending these shitty paintings by the crackhead"
President Joe Biden proposed a first face-to-face summit with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, in a call last week, but failed to secure an agreement, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday.

The newspaper quoted multiple people briefed on last Thursday's call as saying that Xi did not take Biden up on the offer and instead insisted Washington adopt a less strident tone toward Beijing.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment. But a source who was among those briefed on the 90-minute Biden-Xi call confirmed the report was accurate.

"Xi apparently intimated that the tone and atmosphere of the relationship needed to be improved first," the source said.

China's embassy in Washington did not immediately respond when asked to comment.

The Financial Times quoted one of its sources as saying Biden had floated the summit as one of several possibilities for follow-on engagement with Xi, and he had not expected an immediate response.

It cited one US official as saying that while Xi did not engage with the idea of a summit, the White House believed that was partly due to concerns about COVID-19.

The G20 summit in Italy in October has been talked about as a possible venue for a face-to-face meeting, but Xi has not left China since the outbreak of the pandemic early last year.

The call between Biden and Xi was their first in seven months and they discussed the need to ensure that competition between the world's two largest economies does not veer into conflict.

A US official briefing before the conversation called it a test of whether direct top-level engagement could end what had become a stalemate in ties, which are at the worst level in decades.

The White House said afterward it was intended to keep channels of communication open, but it has announced no plans for follow-on engagements.

Chinese state media said Xi had told Biden that US policy on China imposed "serious difficulties" on relations, but added that both sides agreed to maintain frequent contact and ask working-level teams to step up communications.

Sen. Paul grills Antony Blinken over target of US drone strike
[NYPOST] Sen. Rand Paul grilled Secretary of State Antony Blinken over whether the US actually knows whether a dronezap in Afghanistan killed an ISIS-K terrorist or an aid worker — adding,"You’d think you’d kind of know before you off someone," after Blinken failed to provide a straight answer.

During a Senate Foreign Affairs Committee hearing on Afghanistan on Tuesday, Paul (R-Ky.) pressed Blinken about last month’s drone attack in Kabul, which reportedly accidentally targeted an aid worker, not a terrorist.

The Republican senator questioned Blinken over the identity of the person the Biden administration, the same old faces in slightly different places, the same old ideas, the same old graft
...knaves, footpads, and adjusters employed by the Biden Crime Family. They leave a trail of havoc everywhere they turn their attention, be it the nation's borders, the Keystone XL Pipeline, or epidemics, sometimes on purpose, most times through sheer arrogant ineptitude. They learnt this stuff in college, you know...
"droned" after reports emerged that an innocent aid worker and his family were killed instead of the intended ISIS-K target.

The secretary of state told the hearing that the identity of the person was still being reviewed.

"So you don’t know or won’t tell us?" Paul pressed the nation’s top diplomat. "I don’t, I don’t know, because we’re reviewing it," Blinken responded.

Paul hit back: "You think you’d kind of know before you off somebody with a Predator drone whether he’s an aid worker or he’s ISIS-K."

The senator warned that the strike would result in "blowback" by inspiring hundreds to join terror groups over the killing of innocent people.

"And the thing is there is blowback to that. I mean I don’t know if it’s true, but I see these pictures of these beautiful children that were killed in the attack. If that’s true, and not propaganda, if that’s true, guess what: Maybe you’re created hundreds or thousands of new potential Death Eaters from bombing the wrong people," he said.

"So you got to know. You can’t have an investigation after we kill people, we have an investigation before we kill people."

Then, speaking about the millions of dollars of military equipment the US left behind at Bagram Air Base, including Black Hawk helicopters and armored vehicles seized by the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
, Paul suggested the administration should have bombed the base instead.

"I mean, even though you said you didn’t know any of this and was all surprised. Once they took all of our stuff, we should have said, ’You got 20 minutes to get out of it because we’re going to blow it all up,’" Paul said.

"Then you would have sent a message of strength. Instead we found somebody who we’re not sure whether it was an aid worker or an ISIS-K operative. See, that’s not, that’s not sending a signal of strength, and in the end there will be more blowback from it if you killed an aid worker on accident," he continued.

Rep. Yvette Herrell: After visiting Holloman AFB, where 5,000 Afghans are living, I have a lot of questions
[FOXNEWS] Last week I visited Holloman Air Force Base in the Second Congressional District of New Mexico, which I represent in Congress. The base now hosts an estimated 5,000 Afghan evacuees.

Unfortunately, I left Holloman Air Force Base with more questions than answers. High ranking military brass and officials from Homeland Security and the State Department could not provide facts about the identities of those in the "Village."

They did not know (or would not say) how many were U.S. citizens, how many were Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) applicants, or how many were merely people that made it onto our airplanes. Even more importantly, they could not say how many refugees had roles serving alongside U.S. forces.

It is puzzling that the evacuation effort was sold to the American people as a rescue of Afghan interpreters for the U.S. military, yet I was told that the "Village" at Holloman is forced to employ at least 50 outside interpreters to bridge the significant language gap.

There were even fewer answers about the vetting process, which is essential to the safety and security of American citizens.

Government officials could not confirm whether they had access to criminal and security databases in Afghanistan and other Middle Eastern countries, while still insisting that all refugees had gone through extensive vetting prior to being flown to the United States, contradictory to briefings I have received in Washington. They insisted that even the simplest answers were classified but did not offer to move to a classified setting at the base for further discussion.

The 9/11 Commission Report explicitly named a failed vetting process and lax immigration enforcement as reasons that terrorist hijackers were able carry out their attacks 20 years ago. We cannot risk such failures again.

I am thankful that we were able to save as many allies as we could from Afghanistan following a rushed evacuation of over 120,000 people to our shores. However,
a lie repeated often enough remains a lie...
it is essential to ascertain who they are.

The 9/11 Commission Report explicitly named a failed vetting process and lax immigration enforcement as reasons that terrorist hijackers were able carry out their attacks 20 years ago. We cannot risk such failures again.

Most alarming, Homeland Security and the Department of State all but admitted they played fast and loose with refugee procedures and immigration law.

They will be condensing an 18-month process into mere weeks for an SIV program already rampant with fraud. They imported asylum seekers to America without visas to then give them work permits and parole, circumventing a process for vetting refugees that usually takes place on foreign soil.

They could not provide the statutory authority for any of it.

In addition, the very notion of third country resettlement in the Middle East seemed to be a particularly controversial idea, as if the suggestion that resettlement in areas with similar culture, language, religion, and geography was offensive.

#1  ...Well, we already know that the overwhelming majority of Afghans who made it here weren't SIV holders or applicants - they were Afghans (and most of them male)who charged the ramp at Kabul and pushed their way on the planes.

Bellingham, WA woman convicted of ‘shunt' attack on BNSF Railroad
9 Sept 2021
Seattle — A 28-year-old Bellingham, Washington woman was convicted today in U.S. District Court in Seattle of violence against a railroad carrier, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Tessa M. Gorman. Ellen Brennan Reiche, was one of two people arrested on the BNSF Railway tracks near Bellingham, near midnight on November 28, 2020. Reiche was convicted of placing a ’shunt’ — a device that interferes with train signals — on the tracks. The jury deliberated about three hours following the two-day trial. Reiche faces up to 20 years in prison when sentenced by Chief U.S. District Judge Ricardo S. Martinez on December 17, 2021.

The case was investigated by the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, which includes agents from Customs and Border Protection (CBP), in connection with the BNSF Railway Police.

Ms Reiche is a self-described “radical queer” environmental activist who co-founded the Bellingham Lesbian Collective, which we file under Antifa/BLM, by which we mean all the Black Bloc anarcho-communists. As of two years ago she worked as a mentor for Wild Whatcom, engaging children and families in nature programs year round, but possibly they have reconsidered her employment in light of subsequent events.
Andy Ngo had this to write about Reiche.

Canadian schools under fire for book burning in 2019

by Mitchell Van Homrigh

[NewsAustralia] A controversial reconciliation idea that saw students at a school in Canada burn 4700 books is now playing out in the country’s federal election campaign.

Canada is currently gearing up to vote, with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau attempting to keep office. And the topic of reconciliation between Indigenous Canadians and white settlers is taking centre stage.

On Tuesday, it was reported in Canadian media that in 2019 a “flame purification ceremony” was held by the French language school board Conseil scolaire catholique Providence, which oversees elementary and secondary schools in southwestern Ontario.

This involved destroying thousands of books.

In total, more than 4,700 books were removed from library shelves at 30 schools across the school board, and they have since been destroyed or are in the process of being recycled.

Books were burned if they had elements of racism, discrimination and stereotypes.

Some of these included Tintin and Asterisk books.

Tintin in America was removed for its “negative portrayal of Indigenous peoples and offending Aboriginal representation in the drawings”.

The ashes are being used as fertiliser to plant trees.
Isn't that precious! No word if the inks and chemicals used are toxic to plant life.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said it was not up to non-Indigenous people “to tell Indigenous people how they should feel or act to advance reconciliation”.

“On a personal level, I would never agree to the burning of books,” he said.

The Canadian leader is now being slammed for a “weak response”, reports The Week.

Meanwhile, Mr Trudeau’s main opponent in the prime ministerial race, Conservative candidate Erin O’Toole, slammed the book burning.

“A Conservative government will be committed to reconciliation. But the road to reconciliation does not mean tearing down Canada. I strongly condemn the burning of books,” he said.

It comes as earlier this year, more than 1000 unmarked graves were discovered at former residential schools, where Indigenous children were forcibly assimilated into white society in a practice that began in 1867 and didn’t end until 1996.

Factories requiring vaccine will loose employee's for certain. American Wood-mart, FedEXP as examples. Truck drivers for Sunbelt(little Debbie) have presented corporate an ultimatum that a strike will occur in two weeks if work situation does not improve. Hire drivers a must.

Afghanistan
Conflict amongst Taliban leaders, deputy PM unhappy with government makeup: Report
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A major conflict involving the deputy prime minister broke out between Taliban
...Arabic for students...
leaders over the structure of the group’s new government in Afghanistan, the BBC reported on Tuesday citing senior group officials.

"The argument between the group's co-founder [Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani] Baradar and a cabinet member happened at the presidential palace," the sources told the BBC.

There have been widespread rumors about the health of top Taliban leaders and possible internal disagreements within the group, after Baradar disappeared from the public since his last appearance in early September.

Rumors also swirled around the health and whereabouts of Lord High Potentate and Supreme Leader of All He Surveys Haibatullah Akhundzada
...Former deputy to Taliban supremo Mullah Akhtar Mansour, now The Big Man Himself...
, who has made it his mission to stay away from public eye for years. Some reports say he died of coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)
...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men...
last year.

The Taliban seized control of Afghanistan on August 15, and later in the month announced an interim cabinet made up of senior group figures.

"Baradar and Khalil ur-Rahman Haqqani - the minister for refugees and a prominent figure within the krazed killer Haqqani network
...a branch of the Afghan Taliban, based in Pakistain. The network is a family business founded by the later Jalaluddin Haqqani...
- had exchanged strong words, as their followers brawled with each other nearby," a source told the BBC.

The BBC’s sources said Baradar was unhappy with the structure of the government and the conflict broke out over who should claim credit for the group’s victory in Afghanistan.

Baradar believes diplomats, like himself, should get the lion’s share of the credit; while the Haqqani group — a paramilitary group run by one of the most senior Taliban figures and whose leader is the current interior minister — believes fighters achieved the most.

The Taliban sources told the BBC Baradar had left Kabul and travelled to the city of Kandahar following the conflict.

Government Corruption
Top general was so fearful Trump might spark war that he made secret calls to his Chinese counterpart, new Bob Woodward book says
This appears to be a developing story.
[WaPo] WaPo normalizes treason.
’Peril,’ by Bob Woodward and Robert Costa, reveals that Gen. Mark A. Milley called his Chinese counterpart before the election and after Jan. 6 in a bid to avert armed conflict.

Twice in the final months of the Trump administration, the country’s top military officer was so fearful that the president’s actions might spark a war with China that he moved urgently to avert armed conflict.

In a pair of secret phone calls, Gen. Mark A. Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, assured his Chinese counterpart, Gen. Li Zuocheng of the People’s Liberation Army, that the United States would not strike, according to a new book by Washington Post associate editor Bob Woodward and national political reporter Robert Costa.

One call took place on Oct. 30, 2020, four days before the election that unseated President Trump, and the other on Jan. 8, 2021, two days after the Capitol siege carried out by his supporters in a quest to cancel the vote.

The first call was prompted by Milley’s review of intelligence suggesting the Chinese believed the United States was preparing to attack. That belief, the authors write, was based on tensions over military exercises in the South China Sea, and deepened by Trump’s belligerent rhetoric toward China.

"General Li, I want to assure you that the American government is stable and everything is going to be okay," Milley told him. "We are not going to attack or conduct any kinetic operations against you."

In the book’s account, Milley went so far as to pledge he would alert his counterpart in the event of a U.S. attack, stressing the rapport they’d established through a backchannel. "General Li, you and I have known each other for now five years. If we’re going to attack, I’m going to call you ahead of time. It’s not going to be a surprise."

Li took the chairman at his word, the authors write in the book, "Peril," which is set to be released next week.

In the second call, placed to address Chinese fears about the events of Jan. 6, Li wasn’t as easily assuaged, even after Milley promised him, "We are 100 percent steady. Everything’s fine. But democracy can be sloppy sometimes."

Li remained rattled, and Milley, who did not relay the conversation to Trump, according to the book, understood why. The chairman, 62 at the time and chosen by Trump in 2018, believed the president had suffered a mental decline after the election, the authors write, a view he communicated to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in a phone call on Jan. 8. He agreed with her evaluation that Trump was unstable, according to a call transcript obtained by the authors.

Believing that China could lash out if it felt at risk from an unpredictable and vengeful American president, Milley took action. The same day, he called the admiral overseeing the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, the military unit responsible for Asia and the Pacific region, and recommended postponing the military exercises, according to the book. The admiral complied.

Milley also summoned senior officers to review the procedures for launching nuclear weapons, saying the president alone could give the order — but, crucially, that he, Milley, also had to be involved. Looking each in the eye, Milley asked the officers to affirm that they had understood, the authors write, in what he considered an "oath."

The chairman knew that he was "pulling a Schlesinger," the authors write, resorting to measures resembling the ones taken in August 1974 by James R. Schlesinger, the secretary of defense at the time. Schlesinger told military officials to check with him and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs before carrying out orders from President Richard M. Nixon, who was facing impeachment at the time.

Though Milley went furthest in seeking to stave off a national security crisis, his alarm was shared throughout the highest ranks of the administration, the authors reveal. CIA Director Gina Haspel, for instance, reportedly told Milley, "We are on the way to a right-wing coup."

Everyone is jumping on this story. Courtesy of Anomalous Sources:
Hilarious: Mark Milley Has Even Lost Alexander Vindman Now
[RedState] Well, when even Alexander ("The Battle of Krispy Kreme" casualty) Vindman , the guy who thought he had a right to dictate policy rather than Trump, thinks this is a problem, then you know how bad it really is.

Finally, badanov points out that the author Mr. Woodward has a longstanding problem with the factuality of his “facts”, which may mean this is all a tempest in a teapot, in which case I have to wonder what the good general did to merit being thrown to the wolves by his own side:

#14  The 'who is running the gov't ques?' Perhaps this 1981 incident could provide a historical clue:

Al Haig and the Reagan Assassination Attempt — “I’m in control here”

When President Ronald Reagan was shot on March 30, 1981, chaos ensued behind the scenes at the White House. With no real protocol in place for such a situation, everyone involved had to improvise and hope that everything would turn out right. In an attempt to keep everyone calm, Al Haig, Reagan’s Secretary of State, committed a PR faux pas — and showed a glaring lapse in basic knowledge of the Constitution — by telling the press that he was in control while the President was in surgery. Unaware of just how serious the President’s condition really was, key officials began to do their best damage control and keep not only the reporters calm but the country and the world at large.

Let us suppose that the Chinese goal of a Trump defeat was successful. The Chinese then move on to goal number two, the outing (betrayal) of a known US collaborator (Milley) and the division or destruction of the US military leadership ?

#41  Milley says he did do this but he assured us that there is nothing to see here as its common practice for top generals to talk with their counterparts in other countries.

Gen. MacArthur was fired by POTUS Truman for this kind backdoor dealing: From wiki:

In March 1951 secret United States intercepts of diplomatic dispatches disclosed clandestine conversations in which General MacArthur expressed confidence to the Tokyo embassies of Spain and Portugal that he would succeed in expanding the Korean War into a full-scale conflict with the Chinese Communists. When the intercepts came to the attention of President Truman, he was enraged to learn that MacArthur was not only trying to increase public support for his position on conducting the war, but had secretly informed foreign governments that he planned to initiate actions that were counter to United States policy. The President was unable to act immediately since he could not afford to reveal the existence of the intercepts and because of MacArthur's popularity with the public and political support in Congress. However, following the release on 5 April by Representative Martin of MacArthur's letter, Truman concluded he could relieve MacArthur of his commands without incurring unacceptable political damage.

Ridgway took over the duties of conducting the Korean War, often referred to as the "Forgotten War."

I doubt that Milley will be fired over this and other screw ups but he should. Things seem to be in a free-fall in D.C. with the remnants of the Obama administration still influencing things.

Indonesia: Suspected Leader Of Jemaah Islamiyah Arrested
[DailyCaller] A man suspected of leading a holy warrior group with ties to al-Qaeda was arrested in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Monday, the News Agency that Dare Not be Named reported.

Abu Rusdan, 61, and three other suspected members of the holy warrior group Jemaah Islamiyah were arrested near Indonesia’s capital city, according to police spokesperson Ahmad Ramadhan, the AP reported. Jemaah Islamiyah is a designated terror group in the U.S. and was accused of several bombings in Indonesia including a kaboom at a hotel in Bali in 2002 that killed more than 200 people.

"He is currently known to be active among the unlawful Jemaah Islamiyah network’s leadership," Ramadhan told the AP. He added that the arrests were part of a national law enforcement effort targeting the group.

Rusdan is a convicted holy warrior and Indonesian officials consider him as a leader within Jemaah Islamiyah, according to the AP. He served a three-year prison sentence for his involvement in hiding Ali Ghufron, the holy warrior behind the Bali attacks.

Rusdan traveled across the country to speak at events and deliver sermons after he was released from prison in 2006, the AP reported.

The group is also suspected of carrying out attacks in the Philippines and recruiting and training new members in Indonesia, according to the AP. Densus 88, Indonesia’s counterterrorism police force, has arrested 53 suspected members of Jemaah Islamiyah across the country.

#1  Following the fall of President Suharto after more than three decades in power the "anti-subversive" law was lifted by President Habibi. Thus, the ground was set for radicals to organize. Among the the most important to do so was the Jamaah Ikhwan al-Muslimin Indonesia (JAMI). Although radical it was not terrorist. The JAMI itself had its origen in the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood. The growth of Indonesia Islamism was led by people of Arab, particularly of Yemeni origin. In addition, many Indonesian students were radicalized at al Azhar University, Cairo. During the "Arab Spring" many returned home and joined other less radical Islamists in raising hell.
Following the 2002 attacks on Bali the media and the military have concentrated on the JAMI -- now the Jemaah Islamiyah. Overall, the government has managed to control its activity, at least for the present.

French Foreign Ministry: our military will leave Mali due to the appearance of Russian PMCs
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] France will withdraw its military contingents from Mali if Russian private military companies (PMCs) appear there, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said on September 14 during his speech in parliament.

“This is completely incompatible with our military presence,” Le Drian said, commenting on the prospects for an agreement between the Malian authorities and the Russian PMC, known by the unofficial nickname “Wagner”.

"The actions of a group of this kind in Mali would be incompatible with the actions of international partners in Mali," Le Drian said.

In turn, French Defense Minister Florence Parley called the presence of Russian PMCs in Mali "extremely alarming and contradictory."

Recall that the French media claim that the Malian authorities are discussing the terms of an agreement with the Russian PMC, within the framework of which the training and education of Malian military personnel, as well as the protection of the country's leadership, will be carried out.

Remains of dozens of victims of the war recovered in Donetsk
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Rusvesna] Experts of the interdepartmental commission on the search for missing persons found and removed from the mass grave in Snezhnoye the remains of 28 people. This was reported today by the office of the DPR ombudsman, chairman of the commission, Daria Morozova.

"Yesterday, September 13, during the next stage of search work on the territory of the Ovsyanoye cemetery in Snezhnoye, the remains of seven people were recovered from unmarked graves.
Snezhnoye is about 40 miles due east of Donetsk city.
Recall that the search group of the interdepartmental commission has been exploring this location since August 18. During this time, the remains of 28 people were discovered and raised to the surface. They were sent to the Republican Bureau of the SME for conducting forensic investigations, ”the office said.

They added that in parallel, work is underway to identify the relatives of the victims.

"This is important for further identification of the victims. But it is already obvious that we are talking about civilians, as evidenced by the surviving items of civilian clothing," the office stressed.

The exhumation on the territory of the Snezhnyanskoye cemetery will continue.

#6  Like impeachment, recall is a waste of time as all outside the election cycle moves tend to be. The real lesson here is what a horrendous loser Gray Davis was. An outlier. How many people who put time / effort / money into this recall are now disillusioned? A lot. And it distracts from the fact that the Cali GOPe is as bad as it gets.

In Michigan there is a loophole/feature in the campaign finance laws that if you are the incumbent targeted in a recall campaign, there are no limits on financing. This does not apply to the challengers who are limited by the usual rules. I believe California has a similar set of laws. Corrections welcome.
