#2 A short note, Thirty round magazines(SKS-AK47) are very popular and relatively inexpensive.

I do question the "Assault Rifle" Claim, just what did he own (Minus the Deliberately damning rhetoric)I have noticed the DA's around the country use that "Assault Rifle" label for any "Scary looking" gun, and don't care if it's True or not.

#3 I have seen a Ruger 10-22 with a banana clip called an 'assault rifle' in the news. actually, IIRC according to the Clinton era 'assault weapon' ban, any semi-auto weapon with more than 10 round capacity or a pistol style grip was an 'assault weapon'

#4 It is difficult to imagine that "self defense" will work for a client who shoots someone 29 times. Was reloading involved or did the guy have a 30-round mag?

#6 29 Rounds? Self Defense? Unless it was a Ruger 10-22 (with aftermarket mag) they would have had to scrape the victim off the floor to put him in the bag.
