Israeli student stabbed in Crown Heights in suspected hate crime
It is long past time to add Krav Maga training to yeshiva studies. Vicious idiots attack those they believe defenseless.
[IsraelTimes] Two assailants ask Chabad man if he is Jewish, then stab him with screwdriver, lightly injuring him in the arm

An Israeli student was stabbed and lightly injured while walking on a street in the Crown Heights neighborhood of New York City early Saturday morning.

The incident is reportedly being investigated by police as a suspected hate crime.

The student is a member of the Chabad Hasidic community according to Hebrew-language media reports that did not give his age.

The attack happened at 2 a.m. on Saturday as the man was walking on Union Street toward Troy Avenue, the Crownheights.info website reported, citing a police report.

Two men approached the student, who was described as wearing "traditional Jewish garb," and asked him if he was Jewish. They then stabbed him in the arm, apparently with a screwdriver.

The student was able to return home and from there called Hatzalah, the Jewish emergency service, which took him to the hospital where he was treated. He later returned home.

In a tweet, Yaacov Behrman, a public relations official for Chabad, said he had spoken with the student.

"Despite being visibly traumatized, the victim expressed gratitude for not having sustained more severe injuries," Behrman reported. "This incident is deeply concerning, and we have full confidence in the NYPD’s ability to conduct a thorough investigation and apprehend the perpetrators."

The incident is being investigated as a hate crime, Behram said.

"We are aware of this incident and are reaching out to law enforcement and community partners," the New York division of the Anti-Defamation League tweeted.

Last month it was announced police have recorded 100 anti-Jewish hate crimes in New York City since the start of the year.

The figures showed Jews have been targeted more than any other group, by far, every month of the year.

He conquered it and set fire to the places in its vicinity which were inhabited by infidels, and demolishing the idol-temples, he established Islam in them, He marched and captured other cities and killed the polluted wretches, destroying the idolatrous and gratifying the Musulmans. After wounding and killing beyond all measure, his hands and those of his friends became cold in counting the value of the plundered property.

[AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS
  • US SUPREME COURT RULES ON LAW USED TO CHARGE PEOPLE WHO ‘ENCOURAGE’ OR ‘INDUCE’ NON-CITIZENS TO ENTER COUNTRY ILLEGALLY – The court made its ruling last month in a case involving a scammer who was charging people to enter the US under false pretenses. However, many immigrant rights groups are concerned the ruling could more broadly affect those in the non-profit, legal, law enforcement, and religious sectors in future cases.

  • A US DRONE STRIKE ON FRIDAY HAS REPORTEDLY RESULTED IN THE DEATH OF ANOTHER SENIOR ISIS LEADER IN SYRIA – US officials announced yesterday that a successful drone strike had been carried out on Friday and that Osama al-Muhajer, reputedly ISIS’s top Commander in Eastern Syria was killed. The drone used in the attack was the same type as those that have recently been harassed by Russian pilots in the region.

  • TALIBAN FOREIGN MINISTER ALLUDES TO MORE ‘FOREIGN PLOTS’ IN THE WORKS – Foreign Minister Muttaqi again rolled out suspicions of foreign schemes used to attack the legitimacy and credibility of the IEA. He urged Afghans to stand up to these conspiracies. As evidence the plots were unfounded he pointed out advancements in the national economy and claimed that the crime rate was effectively zero across the country. In his remarks, he also criticized the sanctions on the regime and called once again for the lifting of sanctions and engagement with the Taliban.

  • PERUVIAN AUTHORITIES LIBERATE 23 AFGHANS FROM HUMAN TRAFFICKERS – Officials in Peru say they interdicted a human smuggling operation along its border with Brazil and brought the 23 Afghans who had been swindled out of their money and left in a house along the border. Multiple reports continue to stream in of Afghans who use these smuggling routes to try and get to the US and Canada. Among the 23 Afghans were four children, one of which was a two-month-old baby.

The attack is one of the deadliest in the weeks-long fighting between Sudan’s army and a renegade paramilitary force.

According to a statement by the Sudanese Health Ministry, the attack also maimed an unspecified number of people and has drawn condemnation from the United Nations

Terrorists Kill 3 Mourners During Funeral, 24 Others In Benue Communities
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Bandits have killed at least 27 persons in coordinated attacks on communities in Benue State, North Central Nigeria.

SaharaReporters learnt that the murderous Moslems invaded Adogo Ugbaam, Zaki Akpuuna I and Diom communities in Mbaterem, in the Ukum Local Government Area of the state between Friday and Saturday.

It was gathered that the murderous Moslems killed three people in Adogo Ugbaam during a burial ceremony on Friday evening. The following morning, they reportedly killed 24 locals in Zaki Akpuuna I and Diom communities.

A local source in the community confirmed that the gunnies stormed Adogo Ugbaam with cycle of violences at about 9 pm on Friday evening.

After killing three residents, the assailants also invaded a local market in the community, it was learnt.

The source said, "Nobody saw this coming; the gunnies stormed Diom and Akpuuna on cycle of violences at about 11 am when the local market in the community had picked up with its normal activities.

"The attack came after killing three mourners at Adogo Ugbaam village a day before," he added.

The Chairman of Ukum Local Government, Kartyo Tyoumbur, confirmed the incident, noting that 24 persons were reportedly killed and that their remains had been recovered.

"I learned that after attacking Akpuuna and Diom, the armed gang expeditiously departed at a goodly pace but on getting to the Tine-Nune community on the Zaki Biam-Wukari Road, they met the military who confronted them.

"Though no one knows how many of them were killed, I believe some of them must have been neutralised in that exchange," he said.

The spokesperson for the state police command, Catherine Anene, confirmed the attack, saying, "The command gas received the information about the attack.

"A team of police and other security forces repelled the assailants; eight bodies were recovered while others have been taken to the hospital for treatment."

Brother of France man who died in police custody injured in arrest
Follow up to this story from yesterday.
[Dawn] A man arrested in Gay Paree during a memorial rally for his brother, who had died in police custody seven years ago, has been released from hospital on Sunday, amid calls for more protests.

The calls came with La Belle France still on edge after the police killing of a teen
near Gay Paree sparked the worst rioting in the country since 2005.
That’s 17 year old French-Algerian known wolf Nahel Merzouk, killed while fleeing police after he got caught joyriding without a license in a fancy car most decidedly not his own. Again.
Youssouf Traore, 29, was detained by police on Saturday amid protests across the country that commemorated the death of his brother Adama Traore in 2016, many of them in defiance of police bans on gatherings.

According to a police source, Youssouf Traore was injured in the eye during his arrest at the Gay Paree protest attended by some 2,000 people and was taken to hospital after becoming sick at the cop shoppe.

Youssouf Traore appeared with a swollen right eye and torn T-shirt sleeve in a video posted on Twitter on Sunday, which has been verified by AFP, by the account "Truth for Adama". According to the account, he suffered a fractured nose, head trauma with a black eye, and contusions to his chest, abdomen, and lumbar. The account’s managers said a complaint will be lodged "to denounce this serious violence".

Youssouf Traore was arrested on charges of violence against a public official, having been accused of hitting a police officer at the start of the rally at Place de la Republique, according to a source close to the case.

The charges had been lifted due to his hospitalisation, the Gay Paree prosecutor’s office said but could be reinstated later.

The forceful arrest, filmed by several witnesses, showed him resisting and being tackled and held face down by several coppers, provoking condemnation by several left-wing politicians on social media.

A joint statement by left-leaning associations, unions, and political parties had called for a rally on Sunday afternoon in front of a central Gay Paree cop shoppe to demand that he and another person detained with him be released.

At least 20 people including two politicians were seen by AFP journalists outside the station, which was protected by eight officers, around 2pm (12:00 GMT).

Greece, Libya shipwrecks: ‘Key ringleader’ of human trafficking operation arrested in Gujrat
[Dawn] The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Sunday said it had arrested one of the two main human traffickers in connection with the Greece and Libya shipwreck tragedies.

Last month, an Italia-bound fishing trawler reportedly carrying at least 800 people — including approximately 350 Paks — capsized off Greece. The incident led to a day of mourning along with the launch of a nationwide crackdown on human smugglers with many subsequently arrested.

Separately, there have been two other notable incidents of boats drowning off the coast of Libya in the Mediterranean Sea this year in which several Paks — among others — had bit the dust. The first incident took place in February and the other in April, but the authorities did not specify in which case the latest arrest was made.

According to a statement from the FIA spokesperson issued today, Mohammad Saleem Saniyare — a key figure in the Greek tragedy — was arrested in Gujrat in a major operation by the watchdog’s local team.

The statement added that he was the brother of the main suspect — Asif Saniyare — who is still on the lam. It further said that Saleem took millions of rupees from the people to illegally send them to Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
and there were already nine cases registered against him at the FIA’s Gujrat branch.

The FIA said Saleem sent money to his brother through Hundi/Hawala and had gone into hiding after the Greek tragedy, adding that he was arrested through the use of modern technology and further investigation was under way.

The watchdog said Asif was present in Libya currently and had various safehouses there.

A separate tweet from the FIA said that Mohammad Saleem was also a central figure in the Libya shipwreck, without specifying whether it was the February or April incident.

On Monday, the FIA had decided to blacklist the passports of the suspected human traffickers involved in the Greek shipwreck incident and charge them under the Anti-Money Laundering Act.

FIA Director General Mohsin Hasan Butt had also ordered that the identity cards and bank accounts of the agents involved in the accident should be immediately blocked

Ramallah sends ministers to Jenin, cracks down on Islamic Jihad after IDF operation
[IsraelTimes] Fatah-controlled Paleostinian Authority appears to try to reassert control over city in face of rival groups

A delegation of three ministers from the Fatah-led Paleostinian Authority visited the city of Jenin on Sunday and met with local officials, apparently as part of an effort to reassert the PA’s presence and clout in the city following the IDF operation against gangs there last week.

The army operation revealed the level of armament and organization of terror groups in the city, most importantly the Jenin Battalion, a local wing of the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
terror group, which has been operating outside the control of the Ramallah-based PA.

The PA is increasingly seen by some Paleostinians as collaborating with Israel rather than fighting for their rights.

At a mass funeral held last Wednesday for some of the button men killed in the IDF operation, senior Fatah leaders were met with heckling and shouting from the angry crowd.

Mahmoud al-Aloul, deputy to Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
...aka Abu Mazen, a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial. While no Yasser Arafat, he has his own brand of evil, just a little more lowercase....
, Azzam al-Ahmad, head of Fatah’s Central Committee, and other senior Fatah leaders were driven out of the event with participants shouting, "Get out!" as they raged against Fatah’s alleged neglect of the "resistance."

To remedy the setback, deputy al-Aloul returned to the city three days later on July 8, for what appeared to be a friendly conciliatory meeting with the Jenin Battalion.

On Sunday, three PA ministers came from Ramallah to visit the city and meet officials. Interior Minister Ziyad Hab al-Reeh, Health Minister Mai al-Kaila and Local Government Minister Majdi al-Saleh inspected the areas that were subject to Israeli incursion in the refugee camp and met with the Jenin Governor Akram Rajoub and Mayor Nidal al-Obeidi.

According to the PA’s official media outlet al-Hayat al-Jadida, the three ministers conveyed Mahmoud Abbas’s instructions for a reconstruction plan for the city and refugee camp. The health minister also met with the director of a Jenin hospital treating the maimed from the operation.

The Jordan-based Paleostinian opposition website Amad, commenting on the visit, ran an editorial noting that the Fatah presence seen in Jenin in the past 48 hours had not been seen in years, as the movement was too absorbed in its internal organizational questions and in "awaiting the post-Mahmoud Abbas era."

The outlet claimed that Fatah is better at managing Israel’s security than the Paleostinians’ own, and its leadership "only reacts, it does not act with a vision."

Commenting on the meeting between Fatah officials and the Jenin Battalion, it said that Fatah put up a performance "only for self-publicity" that conferred it neither honor nor power. The leadership has not yet realized the extent of the "conspiracy" that is building up against it, the editorial concludes.

In parallel with the visits by ministers, the Paleostinian Authority has adopted harsher methods to reestablish its control over Jenin. According to the Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",-linked news site Palinfo, the PA has launched a crackdown on the Islamic Jihad in the Jenin area in recent days.

PA forces reportedly detained two men at a flying checkpoint set up during the IDF action as they were on their way to fight in Jenin. The two men, Murad Walid Malayshe (34) and Muhammad Walid Barahme (37), spent over 10 years in Israeli prisons for terror-related activities and are among "the most wanted by Israel," according to Palinfo.

On Thursday, journalist Ahmed al-Betawi was reportedly arrested, as well as an "activist" from near Hebron named Louay Qabaja, who was allegedly detained for a Facebook post and has been on hunger strike ever since.

The crackdown against Islamic Jihad members in Jenin continued on the night between Saturday and Sunday, with the arrest of two other PIJ members including Ahmad Salatneh, director of a Jenin charity group affiliated with the Islamic Jihad.

Palestinian woman tries to stab guard at Jerusalem light rail station, is shot
[IsraelTimes] Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai rushes to scene just across from national headquarters; no others injured

A Paleostinian woman attempted to carry out a stabbing attack at the Ammunition Hill light rail station in Jerusalem on Sunday afternoon before being shot, police said.

There were no other injuries in the suspected attack.

Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai arrived at the scene within minutes, after running over from Police National Headquarters just across the street.

According to law enforcement officials, the alleged assailant attempted to stab a light rail security guard, who in response shot her in the leg.

The suspect was listed in good condition, according to medical officials cited by police. She was identified by police as a 50-year-old resident of the predominantly Jewish neighborhood of Pisgat Zeev.
Suicidally depressed, bored, needed the extra income for her family? We’ll probably never know.
The security guard who shot the suspect told Shabtai at the scene that the woman began to approach him in a suspicious manner.

"I asked her if she needed any help, and she put her hand in her bag and pulled out a knife. I stepped back, cocked my gun and fired two shots in the air, and told her to drop the knife," the guard said.

"She didn’t drop it so I fired once at her knee."

Around 30 Lebanese soldiers, Hezbollah members crossed briefly into Israeli territory
[IsraelTimes] Mostly armed, uniformed troops, with handful of unarmed terror group activists, said to have spent 20 minutes over boundary last week; IDF asked UNIFIL to expel them

Dozens of Lebanese soldiers along with some members of the Hezbollah terror group crossed into Israeli territory last week, before eventually heading back across the border, Army Radio reported Sunday.

The group, most of whom were armed, left after spending around 20 minutes on the Israeli side of the boundary without breaching the actual border fence.
Playing chicken.
While Israel Defense Forces were in the area, Israel asked the UN peacekeeping force on the Leb
...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
-Israel border to attend to the matter, according to the report.

The IDF told Army Radio that the incident was dealt with via mediators.

It came amid tensions over increased Hezbollah activity along the border, including the recent establishment of two tents inside Israeli territory at another location in recent weeks, and the firing of an anti-tank missile from Lebanon at the border area last week.

According to the Army Radio report, IDF troops were engaged in work on the border on July 5, the day before the anti-tank missile fire, near Kibbutz Manara, located on the Ramim Ridge.

As the work was being carried out, around 30 people, most of them armed and uniformed Lebanese Army Soldiers, as well as a few alleged Hezbollah terror group operatives — who were not armed or in uniform — crossed the border and entered Israeli territory.

The boundary, known as the Blue Line, is marked with blue barrels along the border and is several meters from the Israeli fence in some areas, which is built entirely within Israeli territory.

According to the report, while the Lebanese were apparently aware that they were entering Israeli territory, they did not breach the border fence.

Shortly before the incident, two Lebanese men drew close to an IDF machine that was working in the border area, Army Radio said. On that occasion, IDF soldiers had gun sex to drive them away.

The IDF said in a statement to Army Radio that the incident happened during routine engineering work in the Ramim Ridge region of the border.

The army stressed that the work continued uninterrupted despite the border violation. An IDF source confirmed to Army Radio that the suspects crossed into Israeli territory, and that the incident was resolved after "a conversation" via mediating channels.

The day after that incident, an anti-tank guided missile fired from Lebanon at Israel went kaboom! on the border fence close to the northern village of Ghajar.

The IDF said that in response it carried out artillery strikes against the area from which the missile was launched. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

Tensions have been rising on the border after the Hezbollah terror organization set up two tents several dozen meters inside Israeli territory last month. Hezbollah evacuated one of the two tents last week.

The Mount Dov area where the tents were erected, also known as Shebaa Farms, was captured by Israel from Syria during the 1967 Six Day War and later effectively annexed along with the Golan Heights. The Lebanese government says the area belongs to Lebanon.

Suspected drug trader killed in Daraa
[NPASyria] A man was killed on Sunday by unidentified button men in Daraa city, southern Syria. He was accused of being involved in drug trade in the region.

A local source told North Press that "Muhammad Qassim al-Musallamah was killed as a result of being targeted by unknown button men while he was in Daraa al-Balad, in Daraa city."

The source added, "Al-Musallamah is accused of working in the drug trade and promoting it in the area."

The source pointed out that the unidentified button men, who were riding a cycle of violence, fled after carrying out the attack.

In mid-May of last year, unknown individuals distributed leaflets threatening drug pushers and promoters in the Daraa al-Balad with accountability if they did not stop their activities.

US troops conduct patrols in Syria’s Derbasiyah
[NPASyria] US troops conducted on Sunday a patrol consisting seven armored military vehicles along with special units of Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) in the village of Seranah east of the city of Derbasiyah, north of Hasakah.

A local source from the village told North Press that this was the second time within 24 hours that US forces had conducted a joint patrol with the Asayish units in Seranah.

On Saturday, the US troops conducted a patrol consisting of three armored military vehicles with the Asayish special units in the same village.

The first patrol consisted of three armored vehicles, and today the number of armored vehicles increased to seven, in addition to four vehicles belonging to the Asayish units, the source added. They also cut off the road to and from the village.

At the time of writing this report, the US troops remain present in the mentioned village, and the reason for their deployment or presence in the village is currently unknown.

Four years ago, the US troops withdrew from that area just before the Ottoman Turkish operation against the cities of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), in the countryside of Hasakah, and Tel Abyad, in the northern countryside of Raqqa, in October 2019.

#1  Why the hell are we even supplying troops for this place and Somolia? We seem to have people who grew up during the last of WW11, Korea, Vietnam and Africa making past war decisions. No wonder our military is having recruiting problems. If anyone can explain this, please do!!!

#2  The Left has always considered troops either to be cannon fodder(draft) or mercenaries(volunteer). It starts to make sense. The only time the Left was pretty silent on that was after (the real) Hitler invaded the Soviet Union in 1941.

#3  #1 To find the genesis of the US involvement with Kurds and Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish), you have to go all the way back to the time that David Petraeus was the Kurdistan warlord.

Hasakah: 5 injured by Turkish border guards in Sere Kaniye, IDP camps lack water
[NPASyria] On Sunday, five people including a woman and her child were shot by Ottoman Turkish border guards while attempting to cross into Ottoman Turkish territory from the town of Mabrouka in Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), northern Hasakah.

A local source told North Press that "the Ottoman Turkish border guards targeted a group of civilians attempting to cross into The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund...
from the opposite side at the village of Mabrouka in the countryside of Sere Kaniye."

The source added that "the shooting resulted in the injury of five people, including a woman named Huda al-Khasham and her seven-year-old child, as well as two young men from the countryside of Manbij. All were transported to a hospital in Sere Kaniye."

The source also noted that one of the injured individuals, a man named Fawaz al-Alosh from the western countryside of Raqqa, was detained by the Ottoman Turkish border guards, and that this health status is currently unknown.

Lack of water, drought put thousands of IDPs in Syria’s Hasakah at risk
As President Erdogan intended and President Assad accepts.
[NPASyria] With temperature exceeding 40, Ismail Muhammad, standing confused in the center of the IDP camp in the countryside of Hasakah in northeast Syria, complains about the lack of water after the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) announced Hasakah a "disaster area" due to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire...
’s repeated water cut-off to the city.

Muhammad, who went to the market to buy vegetables for his family, told North Press, "In general, the water is little and not enough. The tank has a capacity of five barrels of water designated for six families in this hot summer."

Muhammad, who hails from the village of Lilan in the countryside of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) and has a large family that exceeds 15 members, indicated that their daily share is often only 30 liters, as more than five families share a five-barrel tank.

Muhammad describes the situation as "tragic." He said, "We often fetch water from outside the camp to meet our needs for air conditioning and cleaning."

Recently, the city of Hasakah and its countryside have been suffering from a declining drinking water crisis after Turkey cut off water from the Alouk water station, which provides water for around a million people.

On July 3, the AANES declared the city of Hasakah, its villages, and IDP camps a "disaster area" because Turkey cuts-off water from the city "with the complicity of Russia and the Syrian government."

One million people are suffering from a severe water crisis in Hasakah as Ottoman Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition factions, aka Syrian National Army (SNA), continue to withhold water form Alouk water station, which is the main source of water for Hasakah and its towns and villages.

Alouk water station, which lies in the city of Ras al-Ain (Sere Kaniye), is the only water resource feeding Hasakah and its countryside, however, the station is controlled by Turkey and its affiliated SNA.

In 2019, the Ottoman Turkish forces and the SNA factions launched the so-called "Peace Spring" military operation where it occupied Sere Kaniye and its countryside.

SCARCE WATER
There are four IDP camps in Hasakah Governorate. Washokani camp, north of Hasakah, is considered the largest one, housing over 16,000 IDPs from the city of Sere Kaniye and its countryside, according to the statistics of the camp’s administration given to North Press.

The people in this camp, similar to the population in the region, rely on tankers to bring water from surface wells in the countryside of the city. However,
you can observe a lot just by watching...
they complain about the scarce daily water shares amid the increasing temperatures and the location of the camp in the desert.

While sweat drips from his forehead, Jumaa al-Khaled, owner of a shop in the camp’s market, complains about the lack of water, which prompts him to bring water from outside the camp every day.

Al-Khaled told North Press, "There is a shortage in water tanks. The smallest family needs at least a 200-liter barrel of water every day, especially since we are in summer time and use air conditioners."

The sector where he lives has a 10 barrel-tank designated for 13 families. "In 30 minutes, the tank is fully emptied. If you are busy while they fill the tank, you will have to travel long distances to bring water from outside the camp with the help of cars passing by," he said.

The water issue is troubling the IDPs and residents of Hasakah, as they fear the water of surface wells that supply the region with drinking water would dry up.

Sheikmous Darwish, groundwater geology expert, previously stated to North Press and cautioned about the drying up of surface wells in the countryside of Hasakah "in a month," warning of "an imminent humanitarian catastrophe."

Issa Younes, co-chair of the AANES’ Water Directorate of Hasakah, said in a previous statement that "The continuation of this real crisis is the result of an agreement between Russia, Turkey, and Syria to tighten the screws on our people and eliminate the democratic project without sensing the gravity of this crime."

Informed sources in the Water Directorate of Hasakah told North Press that they supplied the region of Sere Kaniye with eight MW of electricity, considering the wells of Alouk need three MW to operate, but Turkey did not abide by the agreement.

In the past years, since it took control of Alouk water station in the countryside of Sere Kaniye in late 2019, Turkey has cut off water from reaching Hasakah for over 40 times, according to the Water Directorate.

INCREASING SALINITY
Barzan Abdullah, co-chair of Washokani camp, revealed the risks that threaten the lives of IDPs in the near future, despite the efforts they make.

He told North Press, "We face many risks as the camp draws about 700 — 800 cubic meters of water. Water is used more during the summer. The situation of water is very difficult in the region, not to mention the difficulty of drawing water from the Euphrates River to Hasakah."

He fears the situation would worsen amid absence of wells suitable for drinking in the 50 square kilometers surrounding the camp.

To solve this issue, the AANES intends to draw water from south of the city of Amuda in the countryside of Qamishli to the city of Hasakah. Rustam Bakr, co-chair of the Municipality and Environment Committee in Hasakah, told North Press that the project to drag water from Amuda to Hasakah would be completed in nine months if the necessary materials are available once the project is approved.

The people think it is taking too long, as the project will come into force next year, meanwhile, the residents are currently going through difficult circumstances.

Abdullah noted that the situation of IDPs is "difficult and hope that it does not come to be a catastrophe."

Asayish arrest ISIS leader in Deir ez-Zor
[NPASyria] On Sunday, the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) arrested a leader of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

In a statement posted on Facebook, the Asayish said, "Our special forces H.A.T, with support and participation from the international coalition, have arrested an ISIS leader in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor."

They added that their forces were able to carry out the preemptive security operation with the support of the US-led Coalition in the early hours of Sunday morning, July 9.

The Asayish also noted that weapons and communication devices were seized from the arrested leader, and that the operation was carried out with precision without any injuries among their forces.

American drone strike kills ISIS leader: US Central Command
[NYPOST] A dronezap by the American military killed an ISIS leader in eastern Syria on Friday, US Central Command revealed Sunday.

The same three US MQ-9 Reaper drones that were being harassed by Russian aircraft last week were deployed in the attack against Osamah al-Muhajir, a big shot of the terrorist organization, Central Command said.

"We have made it clear that we remain committed to the defeat of ISIS throughout the region," Gen. Michael Kurilla, a Central Command commander, said in a statement.

"There are no indications that any non-combatants were killed in this strike and the coalition is assessing reports of a civilian injury," the agency added.

It remains unclear where in Syria al-Muhajir was killed, and Central Command did not give further details about the mission.

Al-Muhajir’s death comes after the US stepped up its strikes against ISIS leaders and operatives, killing and arresting officials who have fled across the Middle East when the terrorist group lost its hold on Syria in 2019.
The Times of Israel adds:
Three Reapers had been flying overhead searching for the hard boy on Friday, a US defense official says, when they were harassed for about two hours by Russian aircraft. Shortly after that, the drones struck and killed Osamah al-Muhajir, who was riding a cycle of violence in the Aleppo region, says the official, who is not authorized to publicly discuss the matter and spoke on condition of anonymity to describe details of the military operation.

The official says al-Muhajir was in northwest Syria at the time of the strike, but that he usually operated in the east.
