The 'Green New Deal' Dies In The U.S. Senate
"He's dead, Jim..."
[CNBC] - A Green New Deal proposal backed by numerous Democrats failed to advance in the Senate on Tuesday as Democrats protested what they called a political show vote orchestrated by majority Republicans.

The nonbinding resolution, which calls on the United States to make an ambitious effort to slash its use of fossil fuels to fight climate change, fell short in a procedural vote. The Senate did not proceed to debating the measure, as 57 senators voted against it and 43 Democrats and independents who caucus with them ‐ nearly all of the Democratic caucus ‐ voted "present." Four senators who vote with Democrats ‐ Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona, Doug Jones and Alabama and independent Angus King of Maine ‐ voted against the resolution.

By voting "present," Democrats hoped not to go on the record on a bill that had no realistic chance of passing, even if they support the concept of a Green New Deal. The six Democratic senators running for president next year ‐ who co-sponsored the original resolution introduced by Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass. ‐ did not take a position on the measure Tuesday.
On the contrary, you're on the record now - as hypocritical FRAUDS.

Scientists Are Surprised To Find That One Of The Fastest Shrinking Glaciers Is Growing Again
[DailyCaller] One of fastest shrinking ice glaciers in the world is reversing course and starting to accumulate ice at an alarming pace, a new NASA study published Monday finds.
Woman and minorities hardest hit
The Jakobshavn glacier, located in Greenland, began thinning around 2012 to nearly 130 feet annually. It's been growing again at about the same rate for the past two years, a study in Nature Geoscience noted. Scientists reacted with surprise, noting that they grew accustomed to the glacier receding.

"That was kind of a surprise. We kind of got used to a runaway system," Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland ice and climate scientist Jason Box told AP reporters Monday. "The good news is that it's a reminder that it's not necessarily going that fast. But it is going."
It was a surprise because you don't know as much as you think you do.
Jakobshavn is "arguably the most important Greenland glacier because it discharges the most ice in the northern hemisphere. For all of Greenland, it is king," said Box, who was not part of the study. The lead authors of the Nature Geoscience study claimed the natural cyclical cooling of North Atlantic waters was likely the catalyst for the reversal. They also say the phenomena is probably temporary.
On a geologic scale, it is all temporary.
This is ultimately bad news on the long-term because it suggests ocean temperature is a bigger player in glacier retreats than previously thought, NASA climate scientist Josh Willis told reporters. Throughout the next several years water will be warming from climate change, he noted, adding that more than 90 percent of the heat greenhouse gasses trap folds into the ocean.

The study comes on the heels of research in 2017 showing that some of the largest non-polar glaciers in the world are either stable or growing due to a "vortex" of cold air over a 1,200-mile section of the greater Asia. Climate models have been unable to reproduce the phenomenon, an August 2017 study published in Nature revealed. The system is keeping Karakoram mountain range glaciers from melting.

Still many scientists and activists have sounded the alarm on Antarctic ice melt. A recent assessment of Antarctic data found that ice melt had dramatically increased in recent years, but critics said that work did not take into account modeling errors of the movement of the Earth beneath the ice sheets.
Or maybe the sun has a bigger chunk of the "Global climate change" than you care to admit? Earth getting colder as the sun slows down its activity? Nah... where is the graft in that?

Shrinking is alarming. Growing is alarming. I'm becoming alarmed at all this alarming.

If the model predictions do not match observations, then the model is wrong. Yeah, it's really that simple. We call it 'science'.

#1  I have stated here and idea on SCOTUS that I liked. Expand the court to 50. Each state appoints one justice to the court for a term of one year (judges can be appointed multiple years) and in case of a tie, the vice-president gets the tie breaker vote.

Keeps things nice and Republic like and good luck stuffing that court. Since it has become a stage to set social policy into rights and laws that never existed, let each state get its say.

Black Christian Disinvited from Cornell Debate Because She Believes in Traditional Marriage
[PJ] Jannique Stewart, a pro-life speaker with Life Training Institute was invited to speak at an abortion debate at Cornell University but she was disinvited when the organizers realized she believes in the traditional Christian teachings on sexuality and marriage.

"In January, I was invited to speak on April 23rd, at Cornell University's Political Union (CPU), regarding the fact that abortion is a moral wrong," Stewart wrote in a Facebook post on Saturday. Everything was on track until the organizers examined the bio she sent them.

"I received a shocking phone call in which I was told that I was being DISINVITED. Why? I was being DISINVITED because of my outspoken beliefs regarding biblical sexuality," she wrote. "Specifically, because of two main beliefs: 1. Sexual activity should be reserved for marriage 2. Natural marriage defined by God as the Union of one man and one woman."

In a statement emailed to PJ Media, Stewart explained that her ministry, Love Protects, "addresses a range of issues dealing with biblical sexuality: abstinence until marriage, pro-life, anti-pornography, to issues regarding the traditional and biblical view on marriage and LGBTQ issues."

Stewart insisted: "YES, it was made very clear to me that I was being DISINVITED invited because of my views. That is VIEWPOINT DISCRIMINATION."

The story gets even worse, however. The organizers did not just disinvite her, they called her beliefs bigotry.

How Assisted Suicide Creates A Cascade Of Death After It Becomes Legal
[The Federalist] By recent headlines, it appears the culture of death, often conceived of as limited to abortion, has spilled into the world of the born. Infanticide by neglect is not only on the table, it is already in practice in states that do not have protections for aborted infants born alive. Yet infanticide is but one fang in the mouth of a Typhon we see emerging from the shadows, abortion being the head that holds it.

Legal abortion affects how special-needs and physically disabled people are seen by society and cared for, how much choice women feel they have in dealing with difficult pregnancies, and how babies born prematurely are treated. It lets men off the hook for caring for their children, not just granting supposedly consequence-free sex but depriving them of the opportunity to rise and meet the rewarding responsibilities of fatherhood.

Abortion fosters a culture of learned helplessness, where women are not encouraged to fight for their vulnerable little children and abortion is seen as the easiest solution to the "problem" of a child. It fosters a culture where motherhood is seen as an impediment to other pursuits rather than a precious and fulfilling calling.

As many harms as can be halted by ending abortion, we cannot defeat the culture of death by lopping off just that one head. To understand the full breadth of the civilizational threats posed by pro-death policies, we must shine a light on another head of that monster: assisted suicide. (For my purposes here, I will include euthanasia by lethal injection from a medical professional, into this definition).

#3  Articles like these do not help the cause of stopping assisted suicide. I personally would be fully in favor of legalizing this practice... in a world where the government had no say in a person's end of life care. But when they have almost all of the say, this is wrong on every level. The government will, and has, used these laws to kill people, both for political reason, and for more general social engineering reasons.

But appealing to faulty moral arguments (and spending the front paragraphs talking about abortion instead of the actual subject of the body of the article) just makes the article less convincing. Abortion is murder, through and through. There is no system where it is okay. But if a person decides by themselves, in a healthy state of mind, there are states of mind or body they don't want to live through, I really have no problem with that. Making it morally equivalent makes people like me reflexively dislike the article, even though the cause is a good one.

Mix-up: British Airways plane lands in Scotland, not Germany
[News10] The flight on Monday seemed to go perfectly well, until passengers realized that their plane had landed in both the wrong city and the wrong country.

The British Airways flight from London City Airport was supposed to head to Duesseldorf, Germany, but ended up in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland.

The airline said Monday the problem started when an incorrect flight plan was filed by WDL Aviation, which operated the flight on behalf of British Airways. Officials say the pilot followed the flight plan for Edinburgh, and that air traffic control officials also were following the same flight plan and saw nothing amiss.

WDL aviation said it was trying to determine the cause of the "obviously unfortunate mix-up."

The flight was refueled and set off again, this time directly to Duesseldorf.

Europe
France Bans Iranian Airline for Shipping Troops and Weapons to Syria
[Breitbart] France on Monday banned flights by Iranian airline Mahan Air, on the grounds that Mahan is employed by the Iranian regime to send troops and weapons to hotspots across the Middle East, including Syria.
The move is a significant step toward European acceptance of the Trump administration’s argument that Iran is a major threat to stability in the Middle East.

Mahan Air, Iran’s oldest private airline, was sanctioned by the United States in 2011 for supporting the notorious Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the theocracy-controlled, terror-sponsoring wing of Iran’s military.

The airline was also banned by Germany at the beginning of 2019. France considered a ban under the previous administration but relented because it worried sanctions against the Iranian airline would destroy the allegedly positive diplomatic environment after the Iran nuclear deal was signed in 2015.

Germany cited Mahan Air’s ties with the IRGC’s Quds Force, an elite unit with a history of espionage activity, when it revoked the airline’s permits in January. The United States designated Mahan as a material supporter of terrorism due to its Quds Force ties.

"The French ban on the airline, which had four flights a week to Paris from Tehran, takes effect from April 1. The airline’s website is no longer taking reservations and calls to its offices in Paris were not answered," Reuters reported on Monday.

Houston: Muslim Schoolkids Sing 'Khamenei is our leader' - 'Allahu akbar ... we are your soldiers'
[WND] Students at a Muslim school in Houston, Texas, celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Islamic revolution in Iran with condemnations of U.S. sanctions against the rogue regime and declarations that the ayatollah "is our leader."

A video of the celebration at the Islamic Education Center of Houston on Feb. 20 was uploaded to the school’s YouTube channel, according to the Middle East Media Research Institute, or MEMRI.

Morteza Kazemian, a 10th grader, said the United States continues to sanction Iran because it is scared of the Islamic nation.

The crowd chanted in response: "Away with the humiliation ... Allah Akbar! Khamenei is our leader!"

The reference was to the ayatollah who serves as Iran’s supreme leader.

In addition, young boys wearing scarves and green headbands sang a song for the ayatollah.

"We are your followers, you are our leader. ... We are your soldiers, and together we can all be your power. ... May Allah always keep your hand upon us. ... A warrior just like the Battle of Khaybar. ... May you always be the light to our guidance."

Press TV anchor Marzieh Hashemi spoke briefly at the ceremony through a video call.

Justice Department sides with court ruling Obamacare invalid
[The Hill] The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Monday announced that it is siding with a district court ruling that found the Affordable Care Act unconstitutional.

The move is an escalation of the Trump administration's legal battle against the health care law.

The DOJ previously argued in court that the law's pre-existing condition protections should be struck down. Now, the administration argues the entire law should be invalidated.

U.S. District Court Judge Reed O'Connor ruled in December that the Affordable Care Act's individual mandate is unconstitutional and that the rest of law is therefore invalid.

The DOJ said Monday that it agrees the decision should stand as the case works its way through the appeals process in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit.

"The Department of Justice has determined that the district court’s judgement should be affirmed," the department said in a short letter to the appeals court.

The move is certain to prompt new denunciations from Democrats, who had already seized on the Trump administration's earlier call for the pre-existing condition protections to be struck down.

BOOM! McConnell BLOCKS Democrats calling for release of Mueller report!
[Right Scoop] As I’m sure you al have seen, Democrats are trying to make a big spectacle about calling for the release of the full Mueller report, even though AG Barr has already said he would release as much as possible under the rules of the DOJ.

Well today, after the House held a similar vote on a non-binding resolution calling for the report’s release, Senate Democrats tried to do the same. But they were stymied when Mitch McConnell objected to the unanimous consent request and shut it down.

Here’s more:
THE HILL ‐ Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Monday blocked a resolution calling for special counsel Robert Mueller’s report to be released publicly.

Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) asked for unanimous consent for the nonbinding resolution, which cleared the House 420-0, to be passed by the Senate following Mueller’s submission of his final report on Friday.

"Whether or not you’re a supporter of President Trump ... there is no good reason not to make the report public," Schumer said from the floor. "It’s a simple request for transparency. Nothing more, nothing less."

But McConnell objected, noting that Attorney General William Barr is working with Mueller to determine what in his report can be released publicly and what cannot.

"The special counsel and the Justice Department ought to be allowed to finish their work in a professional manner," McConnell said. "To date, the attorney general has followed through on his commitments to Congress. One of those commitments is that he intends to release as much information as possible."

Schumer added after McConnell’s objection that the resolution didn’t say the report should be released "immediately" but just that it ought to be released.

"I’m sort of befuddled by the majority leader’s reasoning in this regard because it is not in the words of this resolution," he said.
But McConnell countered that the president has had to wait two years while the investigation was ongoing and "it’s not unreasonable to give the special counsel and the Justice Department just a little time to complete their review in a professional and responsible manner."

McConnell is absolutely right here and I’m glad he blocked Schumer’s request.

North Korean officials return to inter-Korean liaison office: South Korea
SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea sent back its officials to an inter-Korean liaison office in the North’s border city of Kaesong on Monday, reversing a decision two days ago to withdraw the officials, South Korea’s Unification Ministry said.

A group of four to five officials showed up at the office earlier in the morning saying they came to work "as usual," the ministry said in a statement.

Though the presence of the North’s head of the office was not confirmed, the two sides held a consultation and will "continue to operate the office as usual," the ministry said.

Mexico demands apology from Spain and the Vatican over conquest
[BBC] The Mexican president has sent a letter to Spain's King Felipe VI and Pope Francis urging them to apologise for human rights abuses committed during the conquest of the region.

Andrés Manuel López Obrador said the indigenous peoples of Mexico had been the victims of massacres.

Speaking in the ruins of an ancient Mexican city, he called for a full account of the abuses.

Spain rejected the call and called for a "constructive perspective" instead.

'Brother nations'

Mr López Obrador was unsparing in his criticism of both Spain and the Vatican, saying: "The time has come to reconcile. But let us ask forgiveness first."

Mueller Investigation Concludes Hillary Clinton Was Actually Just A Terrible Candidate
[Babylon Bee] WASHINGTON, D.C.‐After a two-year-long investigation that included thousands of indictments, hundreds of search warrants, and several guilty pleas, Robert Mueller and the FBI managed to provide conclusive proof that Hillary Clinton was actually just a terrible candidate, sources confirmed Monday.

The official report summary indicated that the main factor in Clinton losing the election was not Russian collusion but her just being a really bad nominee.

"We have uncovered damning evidence that Hillary Clinton lost the election by colluding with the DNC to be the absolute worst possible candidate," Mueller said in his first public address since the historic report was delivered. "As we could not find any Russian collusion, this was the only thing we managed to prove."

"I mean, she lost to Donald Trump, for Pete's sake," he added, shaking his head.

Investigators showed that Clinton's extreme lack of charisma or likability, her awful public policy record, her constant disparagement of millions of Americans she disagreed with, and her terrible campaign strategies resulted in her defeat.

"The only collusion we found was between Hillary Clinton and her campaign to be really unlikable," Mueller continued. "And while she really is repulsive to so many Americans, that's unfortunately not a crime, so I can't charge her with anything. Ugh."

Womens March co-founder blames 'Jewish establishment' for New Zealand massacre
[American Thinker] A woman named Bob Bland (yeah, I know) believes that the "Jewish establishment" caused the New Zealand mosque attack.

Bland shared a particularly nasty and nauseating posting on Facebook that blames Jews for the massacre.

Jerusalem Post:
On March 17, Bob Bland shared a post from Jesse Rabinowitz ‐ a social justice advocate ‐ who wrote that: "The same language and hate that folks spew against Sisters [Women's March co-leader] Linda Sarsour and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota) killed 54 Muslims in New Zealand. You can't stand in solidarity with the Muslim community and simultaneously disavow Muslim women for speaking their truths. American Jewish Establishment, I'm looking at you."

The share was not accompanied by any additional statement from Bland.

In the comments section, a follower called out Bland for suggesting "that you cannot feel sympathy for the tragedy that happened if you do not agree with Linda and Ilana." The comment also added: "My biggest fear is that the entire purpose of your post was to somehow insult or shame Jews."

It's now hateful to call an anti-Semite an anti-Semite? Who knew?

Bland later apologized, using the excuse that she's a mother and was busy doing mom things:

House Democrats Nix Born Alive Bill for 20th Time
[Daily Caller] House Democrats nixed Republicans’ request for unanimous consent to bring the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act to a vote for a 20th time Monday.

Republican Georgia Rep. Rick Allen made the call for unanimous consent Monday. Numerous Republican representatives have made the same petition to consider the bill. A failed Senate vote on a counterpart bill drew major attention in late February.

After the 17th rejection, House Republican leaders announced their strategy to bring the anti-infanticide legislation to the floor March 13. They plan to bypass Democrats with a discharge petition, which would allow the House to vote with only an absolute majority, Minority Whip Steve Scalise said. (RELATED: Democratic Senator Declines To Seek 2020 Re-Election)

"I’m calling on every member of Congress to sign the discharge petition when it ripens in a few weeks so that we can bring this bill to the floor, have this debate where all the country can see that this process, this grisly process, barbaric process of murdering babies when they are born alive is legal in many states and, in fact, needs to be stopped," Scalise said.

The mixed legacy of Golda Meir, Israel's first female PM according to Aljazeera
[Aljazeera] Golda Meir, Israel's only female prime minister, once commented on her fairly advanced years upon securing the country's top job, saying "Being 70 is no sin, but it's not a joke either."

But Meir, who was confirmed by the Knesset as prime minister 50 years ago on Sunday, was also renowned for her more xenophobic remarks, particularly at the expense of Palestinians.

"There were no such thing as Palestinians," she was quoted as saying in the Sunday Times and Washington Post in June 1969.

"When was there an independent Palestinian people with a Palestinian state? ... It was not as though there was a Palestinian people in Palestine considering itself as a Palestinian people and we came and threw them out and took their country away from them. They did not exist," Meir said.

For her critics, Meir's jingoistic comments concerning Palestinians remain one of her defining - and most damning - legacies.

President Trump's support for Israeli Golan Heights draws global anger
[Aljazeera] US President Donald Trump has recognised the disputed Golan Heights as Israeli territory in an election boost for visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, drawing a sharp response from Syria, which once held the strategic land.

With Netanyahu looking over his shoulder at the White House, Trump signed a proclamation officially granting United States recognition of the occupied Golan as Israeli territory - a dramatic shift from decades of US policy.

The move, which Trump announced in a tweet last Thursday, appeared to be the most overt gesture by the Republican president to help Netanyahu, who had been pressing Trump for the move since February 2017.

Netanyahu welcomed Trump's action and said Israel had never had a better friend. He harked back to two previous Middle Eastern wars in justifying Israel's need to hang on to the Golan.

Syria reacted swiftly to Trump's proclamation, calling it a "blatant attack" on its sovereignty and territorial integrity and saying it had a right to reclaim the Golan.
but not the ability
The Syrian foreign minister said US recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights will lead to its isolation.

Former Top Intelligence Man Admits He May Have Relied On 'Bad Information'
[New York Post] Former head of the CIA John Brennan admitted on Monday that he may have relied on "bad information" for his relentless attacks on President Trump.

Brennan ‐ who once warned that "our Nation’s future is at stake" ‐ told MSNBC’s "Morning Joe" that he may have been misled on the extent of Trump’s connections to Russia.

"Well, I don’t know if I received bad information but I think I suspected there was more than there actually was," Brennan said. "I am relieved that it’s been determined there was not a criminal conspiracy with the Russian government over our election."

The former spy chief was reacting to a summary report by Attorney General William Barr released on Saturday that states there was no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Brennan still maintained that there were inappropriate attempts to communicate with the Kremlin but said he was "not all that surprised that the high bar of criminal conspiracy was not met."

Creepy Porn Lawyer Co-Conspirator Mark Geragos Is a CNN Contributor, Kamala Harris Donor
The Man Who Would Become President
[Free Beacon] Lawyer Michael Avenatti's co-conspirator in his alleged attempt to extort more than $20 million from Nike is CNN contributor and Democratic donor Mark Geragos, a lawyer who has gained celebrity for defending the likes of pop star Michael Jackson for child molestation, actor Jussie Smolett when he claimed to be victim in a hate crime, and Chris Brown for assault.

Geragos was unnamed in the criminal complaint released Monday by federal prosecutors, but was with Avenatti during his March 19 New York City meeting with Nike, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Geragos is perhaps best known for his legal commentary on CNN, but he has also been a consistent donor for Democratic candidates.

He contributed over $5,000 to now-Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris when she was running to be reelected attorney general of California. He has also given money to Democrats such as House Intelligence Committee chairman Adam Schiff (Calif.), presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard (Hawaii), and Sen. Chris Coons (Del.).

Geragos was not arrested by authorities on Monday, but was present at the meeting that sparked the investigation, according to the Wall Street Journal report.

Acting Pentagon Chief Pat Shanahan Authorizes $1B for Border Wall
[Breitbart] The Pentagon announced Monday evening that Acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan authorized $1 billion for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) for building the border wall pursuant to the president’s emergency declaration last month.

"These funds will be used to support DHS’s request to build 57 miles of 18-foot-high pedestrian fencing, constructing and improving roads, and installing lighting within the Yuma and El Paso Sectors of the border in support of the February 15 national emergency declaration on the southern border of the United States," the Pentagon announced in a statement.

The Pentagon also noted that 10 U.S.C. § 284(b)(7) gives the Department of Defense the authority to construct roads and fences and to install lighting to block drug smuggling corridors across international boundaries of the United States in support of counter-narcotic activities of Federal law enforcement agencies.

The Pentagon also released a letter from Shanahan authorizing the funds in response to a DHS request for support.

The letter was addressed to DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and was in response to her request for support to secure the southern border by blocking up to 11 drug smuggling corridors along the border by constructing roads and fences and the installation of lighting.

MSM Journalists Turn on Obama CIA Director John Brennan
[Breitbart] Former Obama CIA Director John Brennan faced a day of reckoning on Monday, after the Special Counsel investigation did not establish there was collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia after extensive investigation.

Although conservatives have long cast a wary eye at the former CIA director, whose hyper-partisan rants and high-profile role as a senior national security and intelligence analyst for NBC and MSNBC went beyond previous CIA chiefs in recent memory, mainstream media journalists, are now also questioning his credibility.

ABC News Senior National Correspondent Terry Moran on Sunday tweeted, along with a clip of a March 6 interview on MSNBC, "John Brennan has a lot to answer for ‐ going before the American public for months, cloaked with CIA authority and openly suggesting he’s got secret info, and repeatedly turning in performances like this."

IDF: Boy, 7, lightly injured in terror shooting at West Bank settlement
[IsraelTimes] Child taken from Beit El to nearby hospital after bullet strikes his hand; army says shots were fired from adjacent Paleostinian village.

A 7-year-old Israeli boy was lightly injured Monday night, when shots were fired at the central West Bank settlement of Beit El from a nearby Paleostinian village, the IDF said.

The young child was rushed to Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Medical Center after sustaining a hand wound in the shooting.

The army said that troops were searching the surrounding area for suspects and that the shots had come from the direction of the Paleostinian village of Dura al-Qaraa, north of Beit El.

Doctors at the Jerusalem hospital said the boy was fully conscious, but would likely require surgery.

Responding to the shooting, Beit El Local Council chairman Shai Alon said, "Miraculously, the injury was mild, but the incident could have ended otherwise."

The settler leader called on the army to enter Jalazone, another village north of the settlement, "from which we have endured several shooting attacks." He called for troops to "restore order and settle accounts there."

UN says Israeli sovereignty over the Golan remains ‘null and void’
You and what army, Bud?
[IsraelTimes] The UN Security Council in a December 1981 resolution called Israel’s de-facto annexation of the Golan Heights is "null and void and without international legal effect" ‐ and the UN says Secretary-General Antonio Guterres adheres to council resolutions.

Antonio Guterres, United Nations

Guterres says in a report on recent activities of the UN peacekeeping force on the Golan Heights that he was "gravely concerned" at escalating tension there between Israel and Syria. He circulates the report to the Security Council.

The secretary-general singled out three incidents between Syria and Israel between November 20 and February 11.

Day 2: Hamas Rocket Attack Overshadows AIPAC Conference - jihadi-linked protesters, Sen. Chuck Schumer, SecState Pompeo
[Jpost] The festive atmosphere of the second day of the AIPAC Policy Conference was overshadowed by news of the rocket attack from Gazoo Monday at dawn that struck Moshav Mishmeret. At the long lines for security checks outside the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, the MKs, journalists and participants from across the US were all regularly checking their cellphone for updates.

Maj.-Gen. (res) Amos Gilad told The Jerusalem Post that we are already in a new "round of violence."

"Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", attacked Israel. They have all sorts of excuses. But they are in charge in Gazoo, and Israel responses accordingly. We are already in the midst of escalation. We did not initiate it. We are responding, defending ourselves. We should wait and see the outcome of the [IDF] attacks. That looks serious," he said.

Eliot Engel, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, told the Post that "It is obviously a concern. There were provocations that are not acceptable, and we have to learn more about it. I don’t know all the details yet." When asked if he thinks that we’re getting closer to a military confrontation between Israel and Hamas, Engel replied: "I don’t know. I hope not. But I certainly understand that Israel needs to protect its people, and the United States has always been supportive of Israel, and will continue to do so."

In a conversation at the sidelines of AIPAC confab, Engel also addressed the presidential decision to recognize Israel illusory sovereignty over the Golan Heights.

"Israel has controlled the Golan Heights since the war in 1967," he said. "I can’t think of anybody who seriously thinks that Israel should leave. Obviously, it is important to the security of Israel to continue to have a strong Israeli presence there. However they do it is fine with me. But I think that everyone realizes that given the situation in Syria, given the fact that there’s no real government there, given the fact that Assad is a murderer, no one thinks that the Golan Heights should return to Syria."

Former secretary of cabinet and current Blue and White Knesset candidate Zvi Hauser told the Post that "In moments like this, the political debate is irrelevant. There’s a challenge to the state of Israel. The main challenge to the security is the missiles threat, both in the south and Israel’s north front. Therefore, we can’t live in a situation in which [the] Israeli citizen is the only one in the world that faces this threat on a daily basis."

AIPAC Protesters With Terror Ties Compare Zionists To Nazis

[Jpost] Protesters outside the AIPAC Policy Conference in Washington, DC compared Israel supporters to Nazis in a demonstration organized by al-Awda, an anti-Israel group with connections to several Paleostinian terrorist organizations.

"A progressive Zionist is the same as a progressive Nazi," Abbas Hamideh, an al-Awda leader, chanted at Sunday’s protest, with demonstrators cheering him in response. Hamideh posted a video of the protest on his Facebook page.

In a reference to a remark by Rep. Ilhan Omar
Somali-American Dem representative from Minnesota. She is apparently married to her brother and may be her own grandmaw...
(D-MN), which was condemned as antisemitic by many Jewish organizations and members of Congress on both sides of the aisle, Hamideh said: "We are demanding an end to AIPAC’s influence over our American politicians. We demand an end to the Benjamins" ‐ meaning $100 bills ‐ "that go to the politicians."

Al-Awda, which is Arabic for "the return," calls on its website for an end to all US aid to Israel, a comprehensive boycott of Israel, the "right of return" for Paleostinian refugees and their descendants, and a Paleostinian state "in all of Paleostine," meaning one that would replace Israel. It refers to Israel in quotation marks, further signaling its refusal to accept the country’s existence.

Earlier this month, The Jerusalem Post exposed al-Awda’s ties to terrorist groups. It is a founding member of the Global Paleostinian Right of Return Coalition (GPRRC), part of the Paleostinian BDS National Committee (BNC), which coordinates the anti-Israel boycott, divestment and sanctions movement worldwide. The central organization in the BNC is the Paleostinian National and Islamic Forces (PNIF), which includes five US-designated terrorist organizations: Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Paleostine (PFLP), the Popular Front - General Command, the Paleostine Liberation Front and Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
One of al-Awda’s co-founders, Mazin Qumsiyeh, was the coordinator of the Popular Resistance Committee Against the Wall, which, according to the Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center, coordinated its activities with Hamas and the PFLP, among other groups. Qumsiyeh was tossed in the clink
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
by Israeli authorities a dozen times, by his own admission in 2011. Since its establishment, al-Awda has also regularly hosted convicted Lions of Islam and members of terrorist groups at its events.

Following the Post’s reporting, the International Legal Forum (ILF) sent a warning letter to GoFundMe, where al-Awda was raising money to organize its demonstration at AIPAC, saying that they are providing services to a terrorism-affiliated organization.

GoFundMe told ILF that its "Trust & Safety team will be investigating the page and taking appropriate action." The site did not respond to further inquiries.

ILF CEO Yifa Segal said that "providing financial services to terror-affiliated organizations constitutes material support for terrorism which is a severe federal offense under US law. The ILF is committed to exposing and pursuing these matters, making sure that the law is enforced and terror-affiliated organizations are defunded and unmasked."

Al-Awda’s GoFundMe page for the protest said it aims to "expose [AIPAC’s] subversion of US foreign policy" and "continue to battle on behalf of the beleaguered Paleostinian people." They promoted the event on social media with the hashtag "#SupportPaleostineInDC2019." The organization sought to match its fundraising from last year’s protest, which reached $10,000, but as of March 25, it only raised half that amount.

Chuck Schumer At AIPAC: A Jew Who Lobbies For Israel Is No Less American

[Jpost] Schumer bellowed a pro-Israel message at the annual event, while calling out fellow politician Rep. Ilhan Omar
Somali-American Dem representative from Minnesota. She is apparently married to her brother and may be her own grandmaw...
who had questioned the Jewish ability to be pro-Israel and pro-American at the same time.

Schumer, born in Brooklyn, is himself Jewish. He has served as the senior United States Senator from New York since the late 1990s.

SecState Pompeo To AIPAC: Anti-Zionism Is Antisemitism

[Jpost] US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo embraced Israel in a speech at the AIPAC policy conference in Washington DC on Tuesday.

"Israel should be admired, not attacked, embraced, not vilified," Pomeo stated at the annual gathering of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. "I’m proud to lead American diplomacy to support Israel’s right to defend itself, stand with the Jewish people, and champion the perennial cause of religious liberty," he said.

Pompeo was one of the many elected officials from both Israel and America to speak at the event hosted by the pro-Israeli lobby. The State Department has historically been viewed by many pro-Israel activists as leaning toward pressuring Israel into compromise vis-a-vis the Palestinians. However the Trump Administration seems to have shifted the narrative, recognizing Israel's right to the Golan Heights on Monday. The strategic highlands was controlled by Syria from 1948 - 1967.

"The rise of antisemitism & anti-Zionism strikes at the very foundation of freedom," Pompeo added. "The Trump Administration opposes it unequivocally and will fight it relentlessly, from the fever swamp of the UN Human Rights Council to the world’s number one proponent of antisemitism: Iran," the Secretary of State declared.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was scheduled to speak at the conference but returned to Israel early Tuesday morning due to the rocket attack crisis.

Imam who Urged Czech Muslims to Take Up Arms is Fired
[AnNahar] The head of Prague's Moslem community who urged Czech Moslems to acquire arms after the Christchurch attack has been sacked, the Czech Moslem Communities Center said Monday.

"Our meeting on March 24... decided unequivocally to cancel Mr Leonid Kushnarenko's membership of the Czech Moslem Communities Center with an immediate effect," the Center said on Facebook.

"The reason behind this decision is the statement and acts of Mr Kushnarenko, which seriously harm the interests of... the Moslem community in the Czech Republic."

Kushnarenko had offered to help Prague Moslems obtain firearms in a video message posted to Facebook after an Australian white supremacist killed 50 people in two mosques during a rampage in Christchurch, New Zealand on March 15.

"In light of the recent tragic events I inform all our members, in particular men -- all who want... to get armed to protect their health and property, contact me and I'll help you." Kushnarenko said.

The Denik N daily quoted the Ukrainian-born lawyer as saying he made the appeal owing to "Islamophobic sentiments" in the Czech Republic.

Czech President Milos Zeman won his second term last year with strong anti-Moslem rhetoric, while the anti-migrant far-right SPD party now has 19 politicians in the 200-seat parliament.

Kushnarenko told Denik N Monday he was entitled to appeal the decision, which also strips him of leadership in the Prague Moslem community, but added that he would not.

The Moslem population in the Czech Republic, an EU member of 10.6 million people, comprised 3,358 people in a 2011 census, but unofficial estimates suggest a community of 10,000-20,000 people.

Nikah Khwan among 7 arrested over alleged forced conversion, underage marriages of Ghotki sisters
Both girls are minors, ages 13 and 14. They are too young to get married under Pak law. In a sane world they would also be too young to change religions. Problem would be solved, assuming the Paks wanted it to be.
[DAWN] Police have detained at least seven people, including a Nikah Khwan (marriage officiator), suspected of involvement in the alleged abductions, forced conversions from Hindusim to Islam, and underage marriages of two minor sisters reported in Ghotki.

On Saturday, the government took notice of the incident after two separate videos started doing rounds on social media. The father and brother of the girls in videos circulating on social media said that the two sisters were kidnapped and forced into changing their religion from Hinduism to Islam. However,

Iraq
US boosts forces in Iraq/Syria, backing recognition of Israeli sovereignty over Golan
[Debka] The US has continued to buttress its military presence in E. Syria and W. Iraq in six bases, since the buildup was first reported by DEBKAfile on March 9. On March 20, President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
confirmed the decision to leave 400 US troops in Syria ‐ 200 in the north and 200 at Al Tanf on the Jordanian border. (He did not speak about 200 on the Israeli border, as widely reported.) Two days earlier, Gen. Joseph Danford, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, denied a Wall Street Journal report that the US planned to leave 1,000 soldiers in Syria, while unnamed US military sources spoke of 1,500 American troops that would remain in North Syria.

DEBKAfile’s military and intelligence sources have sorted out the conflicting reports and can confirm that the US has substantially boosted its military strength in both countries and distributed the strength among six bases:

Three are located in Iraq. For the first time since ISIS was defeated there in early 2016, US Marines have been posted to a base near the Iraqi town of Ramadi, capital of the western governorate of Anbar and 1110km from Baghdad. (See attached map.).

Reinforcements have also reached the US K1 military base near Kirkuk. Earlier this year, the US army converted this facility into its main depot for the intake of American troops and equipment withdrawn from Syria. Since the withdrawal has wound down, K1 has been built up for controlling the northern sector of the Iraqi-Syrian border from Iraqi Kurdistan.

The third US base consolidated in Iraq this week was the big Ayn al-Asad Airbase (which President Trump visited last Christmas).

A glance at the attached map reveals that by dint of their newly-reinforced and deployed strength, US forces in Iraq are able to afford the American Middle East command full control of central, western and northern Iraq.

The US bases augmented in Syria this month are located in three regions:

The southern Al Tanf base, just 24km west of the Syrian-Jordanian-Iraq border junction, has been strengthened with additional Marine and artillery forces.

Al Raqqa, the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
’s stronghold in Syria until its ouster by US-backed Kurdish forces in 2017, is the second base.

And the third is the US air base at Remelin northeast of Hasakeh, the Syrian Kurds’ political center.

The six bases are focal points of US military command control of around 1,500 sq.km of territory between Ramadi in central Iraq, up to Hasakeh in northern Syria, and down south to Al Tanf. This wedge of land is bisected down the center by the Iraqi-Syria border.

The new US military deployment in Syria and Iraq gives substance to President Trump’s statement that the time has come to recognize Israeli illusory sovereignty over the Golan. Most significantly, it is a high impediment for the plan hatched between Tehran and the Assad regime to go forward without delay for the establishment of an Iranian land bridge to the Mediterranean after first reopening the Iraqi-Syrian border. Iranian, Syrian and Iraqi generals began planning this project when they met on March 18 in Damascus.

Rao Anwar, 17 others indicted in Naqeeb murder case, plead 'not guilty'
[DAWN] An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
on Monday indicted former Malir SSP Rao Anwar and 17 others for the murder of Wazoo native Naqeebullah Mehsud in a fake encounter in Karachi.

Anwar and the other accused, who were in the courtroom when the charges were framed against them, pleaded 'not guilty'.

The court ordered the complainant and the magistrate, who recorded the testimonies of eyewitnesses, to appear on April 11 and adjourned the hearing until then.

Anwar, along with former deputy superintendent of police Qamar and three others who are accused in the case, are out on bail, while 13 police officials are in jail on judicial remand.

An inquiry team probing the Jan 2018 'extrajudicial killing' of Naqeebullah found that the Waziristan native was killed in a "fake encounter" which was "staged" by the former Malir SSP. Following the inquiry team's findings, Anwar was suspended from his post.

Rao Anwar, however, has stuck to the claim that Naqeeb was a Tehrik-e-Taliban

The killing of the young Mehsud had sparked widespread protests by the civil society and then chief justice Mian Saqib Nisar took suo motu

UNAMA releases initial findings regarding alleged civilian casualties in Kunduz airstrike
[KhaamaPress] The United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) on Monday released its initial findings regarding alleged civilian casualties in Kunduz Arclight airstrike.

According to initial findings of UNAMA, an airstrike conducted by international military forces on the night of Friday to Saturday in Kunduz in support of pro-Government forces on the ground killed 13 civilians and injured three more.

The UN mission in Afghanistan in a statement said "The Mission expresses serious concern that initial fact-finding indicates that 10 of those killed were children, part of the same extended family whom were displaced by fighting elsewhere in the country. Work is ongoing to verify all civilian casualties that occurred during military operations that were conducted around the time of the airstrike. The incident occurred in the Telawka neighbourhood close to Kunduz city during operations conducted by pro-government forces against Taliban
...Arabic for students...
in the area."

The statement further added that UNAMA urges relevant authorities and parties involved in the airstrike to conduct their own enquiries in to the incident and to take immediate steps to safeguard civilians from harm. Parties are urged to publish results of their findings, as well as provide appropriate compensation to victims.

"In its 2018 Annual Protection of Civilians Report, released in February 2019, UNAMA reported a sharp increase in civilian casualties from aerial and search operations in 2018 compared to 2017. The report noted that aerial operations by international military forces, as well as search operations conducted by Afghan national security forces and pro-Government gangs, drove a 24 per cent overall increase in civilian casualties by pro-Government forces. UNAMA expressed particular concern about child casualties from air strikes which have been increasing every year since 2014," UNAMA said.

The statement also added that UNAMA reminds all parties to the conflict to uphold their obligations under international humanitarian law to protect civilians from harm, including their obligation to take all feasible precautions to avoid death or injury to civilians.

, Faryab and Badghis provinces indicate that at least 150 members of the Afghan forces have bit the dust in battles against gunnies in the past two weeks ‐ March 11-25.

The figures show that at least 49 members of the security forces were killed in Helmand in the past four days and 63 others were maimed.

Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
has not announced their spring offensive, but many provinces have witnessed heavy festivities between government forces and the gunnies amid the change in the weather over the past two weeks.

"At least 49 security force members were martyred in different parts of Helmand and 93 others were maimed," said Attaullah Afghan, member of Helmand Provincial Council.

However,
alcohol has never solved anybody's problems. But then, neither has milk...
Helmand governor’s front man Omar Zwak rejected the report and said the casualties are lower than reported by members of the provincial council.

"The casualties of the security forces were 41," Zwak said, but he did not elaborate more in this regard.

Faryab has also witnessed heavy festivities in the past two weeks and reports indicate that many parts of the province are under siege by holy warriors.

"Not only Faryab districts, but its center (Maimana city) is also under siege and the people are mainly suffering from this conflict," said Mohammad Hashim Ortaq, a former MP.

"We had between 200 to 300 deaders only in Qaisar district," claimed Mohammad Tahir Rahmani, head of Faryab Provincial Council.

In Badghis province in the northwest of Afghanistan, 57 security force members were killed during the past two weeks, the provincial council of the province confirmed.

Bala Murghab district in Badghis has been under attack by the Talibs since the beginning of this month. Talibs came from other districts to attack Bala Murghab, according to local officials.
have had 57 deaders," said Mohammad Nasir Nazari, member of Badghis Provincial Council.

Officials from Kunduz province in the north of Afghanistan also said they are concerned about the casualties among government forces as a result of battles in Imam Sahib district.

A military analyst and former deputy minister of interior Mirza Mohammad Yarmand said the capabilities of political rivals should be used for strengthening the capabilities of government in fighting the enemy.

"Political rivals are using their capabilities against each other; they should use it against their common enemy," said Yarmand.

The ministries of Defense and Interior Affairs did not comment on the casualty rate among Afghan forces.

According to President Ghani, at least 45,000 members of the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces bit the dust in the past four years.

Lebanese President defends Hezbollah during Pompeo meeting
[ALMASDARNEWS] Lebanese President General Michel Aoun

told U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Friday that Hezbollah is a Lebanese party represented in parliament and government.

General Aoun told the visiting U.S. diplomat that Hezbollah’s presence in Leb stems from a popular base that denotes one of the main sects in the country.

"Maintaining national unity and civil peace is a priority for us," President Aoun told Secretary Pompeo during his meeting with him at the Baabda palace.

Aoun also solicited US support for Leb to secure the repatriation of the Syrian refugees to the safe areas in Syria, noting that Leb has hosted more than 1.5 million Syrians inside its territory and is no longer capable of bearing the repercussions of such displacement on all daily living-related sectors.

Aoun stressed that the arrangements for the return of refugees will continue in accordance with the mechanism set by the Lebanese General Security.

On the other hand, Aoun welcomed the United States’ assistance in the demarcation of the land border known as the "Blue Line," saying that "such an action strengthens security and stability in the south."

The head of state underlined Leb’s commitment to the implementation of U.N. Resolution 1701 to maintain stability along the southern border despite the ongoing Israeli violations by land, air, and sea.

Aoun thanked Minister Pompeo for his country’s assistance to the Lebanese Army, especially during the war of liberating the Beqaa Governorate from terrorist groups like the Islamic State

#5  The S-300 only really came online in 2007 for the Russian Federation. Which means only now is it being sold and set up in other countries in large numbers. The S-400 will be sold in larger numbers over the next decade most likely.

So far the S-300 has not performed very well in Syria and sales have dipped in response. Suddenly countries that bought the S-300 are getting an influx of Russian "advisers" for the systems. Putin has to try to support the customers and have the S-300 perform better. Putin needs the hard cash.

in an operation within Mogadishu over the weekend. The arrested Al-Shabaab leader was among the Amniyaat, a section in charge of intelligence and coordination of attacks.

It is believed that he was in charge of the execution of mass murders through attacks that were happening in the country. The Somali forces have carried out operations that aimed to flash out terror cells within the capital.

The Somali government reported that the operation is one of the three operations that it has conducted in Mogadishu for the last two weeks. It is in this section of Al-Shabaab that prepares and stages attacks in Somalia especially the capital.

The Mogadishu positioned members of al-Shabaab are considered as some of the most lethal gunnies in Somalia as they have been responsible for some of the largest attacks in the country. For instance, Somalia lost over 500 people in the Mogadishu’s twin bombing that happened on 14 October, 2017 which was the worst terrorist attack that the country has ever experienced.

"The strength of our societies lies in our diversity, and whoever attacks the diversity of our societies attacks the entire society not just one segment of it," she said. Thai junta’s party takes shock lead in election
[DAWN] Thailand’s ruling junta took a stunning lead in the country’s first election since a 2014 coup with more than 90 per cent of ballots counted, putting it on course to return to power at the expense of the kingdom’s pro-democracy camp.

Sunday’s election was held under new laws written by the military to smooth its transformation into a civilian government.

While it had set the rules of the game in its favour, analysts had not expected the party to win the popular vote, given mounting anger at junta rule and due to the enduring popularity of Pheu Thai, the party of ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra.

The army-linked Phalang Pracharat party, which wants junta chief Prayut Chan-O-Cha to return as premier, gained more than 7.3 million votes with 91 per cent of ballots tallied, according to the Election Commission ‐ nearly half a million more than Pheu Thai.

The EC said it would announce full results on Monday (today), including the numbers of lower house seats won by each party.

#1  Well, if Hamas security chief and his people didn't have their HQ data backed up TO the cloud, its certainly IN a cloud now.

Thanks IAF!

#2  rumors: Israel wants an end to incendiary balloons (which is pretty reasonable); Hamas pretends these are civilian entertainment (even though the devices the balloons carry are military grade); Hamas expects (with some confidence) its toadies in the UN will back them up on this; Egypt is taking Israel's side on the balloon issue

#3  Can we loan the IAF a few wings of BUFF’s so they can Arclight the Gaza Strip. That would end the problem.

#6  It's long past time that Israel should use a full battalion of MRLS's as counter battery fire to anything. If you're in the impact zone, well maybe you should start killing these wackjobs when they set up instead of letting them use you as meatshields.

#7  Okay, it was quite for a few hours and now the MORONS started shooting rockets again.
Israel's first response appears to be calling up more reservists and sending another infantry brigade and an artillery battalion to the southern command .

#8  Maybe they could send a Cat D9 battalion and push the border 100 meters out after each 'incident'.

(ISIS/ISIS/IS/ISIS) carried out a new ambush against a group of Syrian Arab Army (SAA) soldiers in the eastern desert of the Homs Governorate.

According to a military communique from the Homs Governorate, the Islamic State carried out the ambush along the strategic Palmyra-Deir Ezzor Highway.

This ambush by the Islamic State on Sunday afternoon resulted in the death of at least five Syrian Arab Army soldiers, including one officer with the rank of colonel.

The military communique added that the Syrian Arab Army is now on high alert near the desert cities of al-Sukhnah and Palmyra (var. Tadmur).

Since they lost the eastern countryside of the Homs Governorate, the Islamic State has relied on ambushes and night raids to inflict damage on the Syrian government forces in the region.

These ambushes have become so prevalent that the Syrian Arab Army has been forced to increase their presence across the vast Syrian Desert.

Russian Air Force and military arrives in Venezuela amid increased tensions with US
[ALMASDARNEWS] Two Russian air force planes landed at Venezuela’s main airport on Saturday carrying a Russian defense official and nearly 100 troops, according to media reports, amid strengthening ties between Caracas and Moscow.

A flight-tracking website showed that two planes left from a Russian military airport bound for Caracas on Friday, and another flight-tracking site showed that one plane left Caracas on Sunday.

That comes three months after the two nations held military exercises on Venezuelan soil that President Nicolas Maduro

called a sign of strengthening relations, but which Washington criticized as Russian encroachment in the region.

Reporter Javier Mayorca wrote on Twitter on Saturday that the first plane carried Vasily Tonkoshkurov, chief of staff of the ground forces, adding the second was a cargo plane carrying 35 tonnes of material.

An Ilyushin IL-62 passenger jet and an Antonov AN-124 military cargo plane left for Caracas on Friday from Russian military airport Chkalovsky, stopping along the way in Syria, according to flight-tracking website Flightradar24.

The cargo plane left Caracas on Sunday afternoon, according to Adsbexchange, another flight-tracking site.

The flights carried officials who arrived to "exchange consultations," wrote Russian government-owned news agency Sputnik, which quoted an unnamed source at the Russian embassy.

"Russia has various contracts that are in the process of being fulfilled, contracts of a technical military character," Sputnik quoted the source as saying.

A Rooters witness saw what appeared to be the passenger jet at the Maiquetia airport on Sunday.

Venezuela’s Information Ministry did not immediately reply to a request for comment.

Russia’s Defense Ministry and Foreign Ministry did not reply to messages seeking comment. The Kremlin front man also did not reply to a request for comment.

Iraq
Iraqi security forces defeat ISIS attack on Saladin oilfield
[Rudaw] Iraqi security forces "fiercely" repelled an attack staged by ISIS Death Eaters on an oilfield in Saladin province on Sunday night, confirmed officials.

The North Oil Company police announced that their forces tasked with protecting the Saladin province's oilfields "defeated an ISIS attack on the Alas Oilfield."

It added the group suffered casualties as a number of the attackers were killed and some others maimed.

"They retreated to an unknown place taking back the maimed with them," it added.

Iraq declared the group defeated in 2017. However,

they frequently carry out attacks against security forces and civilians, especially in security vacuums between Kurdish and Iraq forces.

The NOC commended the Hashd al-Shaabi saying they came to the aid of NOC coppers in fighting off the jihadists.

The fresh ISIS attack came a day after the group staged a similar attack on a Hashd al-Shaabi force in Shingal.

Citing a Shiite official in the region, Rudaw's Tahsin Qasim said that three ISIS Death Eaters believed to have infiltrated Iraq from Syria blew themselves up after engaging in a brief confrontation with the Shiite militias.

He said the Hash force did not suffer any fatalities.
