Pakistan arrests ‘last terrorist at large' in Daniel Pearl killing
[JPost] Terrorist also suspect in assassination attempt against former president Musharraf.

Counterterrorism officials in Islamabad have confirmed that the remaining terrorist sought in the 2002 murder of American journalist Daniel Pearl has been taken into custody. Azim Jan, a commander of the TTP, the Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan, an off-shoot of al-Qaeda, was apprehended on Friday in a joint operation headed by Pakistan Security Forces.

The mission was conducted in the hilly area of Mansehra, a district in the Khyber Pakhtoon Khwa Province, located about 100 miles north of the capital Islamabad.

Azim Jan was the final fugitive of the group that was involved in the abduction and murder of Daniel Pearl. A senior official speaking to The Media Line on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to media, said Jan was the master trainer of suicide bombers and that he was running a militant training camp in the area of Pakistan-Afghani border when he was arrested.
Oh? Did they get the rest of ‘em, too?
Daniel Pearl was the South Asian bureau chief of The Wall Street Journal when he was kidnapped and beheaded by a self-proclaimed Islamist group in the southern city of Karachi in 2002. Counter-terrorism official Behram Khan told The Media Line that Jan is known as a deadly expert in improvised explosive devices. In addition to being the primary suspect in the Pearl murder, the "commander" built his reputation orchestrating the planned assassination of then-president General Pervez Musharraf in that year, the murder of Sind police superintendent Chaudhry Aslam, and an attack on the staff of the French Embassy in Karachi.

Jan is also the lead suspect in an attack on the Peshawar Bus Terminal and multiple murders of police officials. Intelligence official Junaid ul-Hassan told The Media Line that Jan is also accused in the 2011 terrorist attack on Pakistan's Mehran Naval Air Base, and an attack on a security checkpost in Quetta's Hazar Ganji area that killed more than 150 members of the Hazara Shia community.
Despite all that, this is his first appearance in the Rantburg archives.

Iran's Ayatollah Khamenei replaces IRGC commander
[JPost] "The Supreme Leader has appointed Salami as the new commander-in-chief of the Guards, who will replace Mohammad Ali Jafari."

Iran's top authority Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has replaced the chief commander of the elite Revolutionary Guards, state TV reported on Sunday, days after the United States designated the group a foreign terrorist organization.

The TV station did not give a reason for the change when it announced the appointment of Brigadier General Hossein Salami to the position. Jafari had held the post since September 2007.

The Grand Turk
Turkish opposition leader safe after attack at soldier's funeral
[Al-Rooters] The leader of Turkey's main opposition party was attacked at a soldier's funeral in Ankara before security guards led him away, in the latest fallout from contested local elections three weeks ago.

Kemal Kilicdaroglu, head of the secularist Republican People's Party (CHP) that pulled off victories in the March 31 vote, had attended a funeral for one of four Turkish soldiers killed on Friday in clashes with the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, whose AK Party wants the election results annulled in Istanbul, had repeatedly warned during last month's campaign that PKK members were among the CHP's list of candidates.

The PKK clashes in the country's southeast on Friday prompted several pro-government newspapers to tie the soldiers' deaths to the CHP. "PKK out" was among the slogans shouted at Kilicdaroglu on Sunday, according to video footage of the incident.

Several TV broadcasters showed video in which Kilicdaroglu was hit on the head at least twice as a clutch of security guards and a police officer attempted to keep dozens of fist-pumping men away, some of whom were shouting "shame on you" and "God damn you."

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Carter Page Is Mr. Clean By Eric Felten
[NR] However implausible it may seem now, there was a time when Carter Page was treated like a dangerous character. So much so that Special Counsel Robert Mueller was specifically tasked with investigating the onetime foreign-policy adviser to candidate Donald Trump.
Once his placement and access was lost, he was free to go.
After naming Mueller special counsel, Acting Attorney General Rod Rosenstein penned two secret memoranda detailing Mueller’s powers and focus. Rosenstein told him he "had been authorized since his appointment to investigate allegations that three Trump campaign officials ‐ Carter Page, Paul Manafort, and George Papadopoulos ‐ ’committed a crime or crimes by colluding with Russian government officials with respect to the Russian government’s efforts to interfere with the 2016 presidential election.’" Page was not just tagged as an explicit target of Mueller’s probe; he was first on the list. Given what soon befell Manafort and Papadopoulos, one might have expected Page to be wearing the new black. And yet, not only is Carter Page a free man, Mueller never even managed to get him on an overdue parking ticket. The question isn’t so much what happened as what didn’t.
Poor form, arresting your own sources. Who knows what they may say in their own defense.
If anyone should have been prosecutable, it should have been Page ‐ if he had committed any crime, that is. For starters, the FBI had Page under surveillance and all of his communications in their possession for a full year. How many political players could survive such colonoscopic scrutiny?

Add to this that Page behaved in ways that would have made it easy for any aggressive prosecutor to go after him. He allowed himself to be interviewed by the FBI repeatedly. He testified before a grand jury. He not only raised red flags, he waved them: Having been excoriated for his July 2016 trip to Moscow, where he gave a Putin-friendly speech, he went back to Moscow in December and tried to drum up some business. He appeared before Congress and made bold claims under oath.

Consider his opening statement before the House Intelligence Committee in November 2017: "Whereas I have never done anything wrong in Russia, no documents, records, electronically stored information including email, communication, recordings, data and tangible things could reasonably lead to the discovery of any facts within the investigation’s publicly announced parameters as it relates to actions by the Russian government." If Mueller had anything at all on Page, nothing would have been easier than to add a lying-to-Congress charge to the indictment.
Hey, I reported all my foreign travel and contacts. I provided you copies, remember? I have no intention of losing my clearance.
Nor is Page the sort of evil genius who would be needed to outwit some of the DOJ’s top lawyers. Read the transcript of Page’s House testimony and you’ll be struck by the witness’s odd and awkward responses. Trying to be his own lawyer, he keeps making legalistic distinctions, such as whether his contact with someone had been a "meeting" or a "greeting." Page makes the mistake of talking about being careful rather than actually being careful. Being a careful deponent is rather like being a pilot with the right stuff. If you talk about having the right stuff, you don’t have it; if you testify that you’re being cautious with your answers, you’re not being nearly careful enough.
The perfect beltway-insider 'wannabe' source. Hey watta ya want me to do ....."wear a wire."
Even the Republican members quickly lost patience with Page: "You seem to draw a distinction between a meeting, a greeting, a conversation, and you hearing a speech," said Representative Trey Gowdy. "So to the extent you may have said that you have met with senior members of Russian Government or legislators in Russia, were those meetings, greetings, conversations, or were you sitting in the audience listening?"

Gowdy was referring not only to Page’s reliance on inconsequential legalisms, but also to his unfortunate habit of self-puffery. Page would take information he heard in a speech and present it to the Trump campaign as though he had learned it in a private conversation. For example, as Mueller puts it, "In communications with Campaign officials, Page also repeatedly touted his high-level contacts in Russia and his ability to forge connections between candidate Trump and senior Russian governmental officials." Talk up your "high-level contacts in Russia" enough and people might just start to suspect that you’re a little too tight with Russian officials. Well, that, or a certain sort of political operative might get the idea to spread suspicion about you.
I find the term 'useful idiot' comes to mind.
Page was in a bad enough position: Abandoned and shunned by Team Trump and annoying to Capitol Hill Republicans, Page was short on allies to help him contend with the Mueller squad. So what did he do? He painted a prosecutorial target on his back by refusing to accept Mueller’s enterprise as legitimate. Loudly and relentlessly he declared that the entire investigation was the outgrowth of a fraud perpetrated by Clinton operatives. Page demanded that what he calls the "dodgy dossier" itself be investigated.
Potentially having only limited knowledge of the extent of the Deep State operation, it is likely Page at some point, had a 'woke' moment.

#5  While I am not deeply knowledgeable on the whole Deep State vs. Trump subversion efforts.
I,like a majority in America, find myself extremely piss-off that we have yet to have a serious unbiased Hillary / Obama /IRS /Clinton's / DNC Media Collusion / DNC primary election rigging/Illegal Foreign donations/Solar Power funding for donations etc. etc. etc. DOJ-FBI investigation.

All these scandals have been well documented as having been actual organized felony level crimes. Yet not 1 beltway Insider has even been to trial. They usually get to walkaway from their jobs and then get rewarded by 3rd parties for the illegal activities.

We have seen a clear attempted and failed Political Coupe/ act of treason (so far) and we must have a special counsel seriously dig into it.

By our US Constitution the The US Gov. answers to the US Citizens. It is not allowed to break laws any one of us NON-DC Players would go to jail over. We must drain the swamp before Trump and other like him meet the faith that others were dealt for bucking the their system since 1950's.

Men are spending $1,000 on ‘Scrotox' injections to impress dates
[NYT] The male reproductive organ isn’t exactly renowned for its aesthetic appeal, let’s be honest.

And while most men accept this reality with a shrug, it has emerged a minority of men harbor such deep insecurities about their wrinkly scrotums they’re willing to invest substantially in their beautification.

We’re not talking about a manscaping wax or a penis enlargement, although both are tried and true options for genital embellishment.

Rather, allow us to enlighten you on the medical phenomenon that is "Scrotox."

"Scrotox is the use of Botox, or one of the three neurotoxins for muscle relaxation, injected into the scrotum," said Dr. Jayson Oates, principal surgeon and medical director of CALIBRE Clinic, a specialty practice dedicated to medical male enhancement procedures in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, Australia.

A Scrotox procedure costs approximately $1,000, and Oates explains while some men choose Scrotox for cosmetic reasons, for the majority the procedure is medicinal.

Hidden camera found in women's head of USS Arlington
[NYP] The US Navy is investigating a hidden camera discovered by a female Marine in the women’s bathroom of the USS Arlington.

A spokesman for the Sixth Fleet said the Naval Criminal Investigative Service has launched a probe into the "recording device" found "in a head," aka toilet on the ship, NBC reported.

"The Navy/Marine Corps team takes all reports of sexual harassment seriously, and are committed to thoroughly investigating these allegations and providing resources and care to victims of sexual harassment," Cdr. Kyle Raines said.

The Marine reported the device in March, and the NCIS has been investigating since, according to NBC.

Authorities confirmed the device can take still images, but it’s unclear what’s on the footage and whether it could record video.

The Arlington is based in Norfolk, Va., and serves as a landing dock for naval ships. The ship left with a fleet from the East Coast in December for seven-month deployment in Europe and the Middle East, according to Stars and Stripes, and is cu rrently docked in Greece.

In light of Mueller report, Congress should, but probably won't, rein in FISA abuses
[Wash Times] This is unfortunate. The Mueller investigation gives two opportunities for both parties to come together ‐ on FISA and on law enforcement’s treatment of innocent-until-proven guilty suspects.

But politics, once again, appears to have taken precedence over the American people. What a shame.

"At Best, The FISA Application Shows FBI Misled The Court To Wiretap Trump Campaign," Investor’s Business Daily wrote back in July of 2018.

It was that FISA document that brought on the feds’ scrutiny of then-candidate Donald Trump’s campaign aide, Carter Page. The Department of Justice released a heavily redacted version of the FISA warrant that was used as justification to surveil Page.

And guess what?

Sen. Lindsey Graham put it this way: This whole FISA fiasco was but a fiasco.

"I think that the whole FISA award process needs to be looked at," Graham said on CBS "Face the Nation" back in July, 2018. "The warrant on Carter Page was supported mostly by [the] dossier that came from [British spy guy Christopher] Steele who is being paid by the Democratic Party to do opposition research ... and if you ask the FBI today how much of the dossier on Trump has been verified ‐ almost none of it. ... If the dossier is the reason you issued the warrant, it was a bunch of garbage."

Agree with Graham or not, the fact is FISA stands for Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, and the court proceedings authorized by it are to enable surveillance of foreigners believed to be spies, or on agents working with foreign powers ‐ the key word here being foreign.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran's Guard gets a long-overdue but much-deserved terrorist designation
[Washington Examiner] The United States has decided to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps a foreign terrorist organization under section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act. This is a major step toward effectively countering Tehran’s systemic use of terrorism as a tool of statecraft. It is also welcome news for the Iranian people, whose efforts over 40 years to bring about change have been violently suppressed at every turn by the Guard.

The Guard certainly meets the three criteria under 8 U.S.C. 1189 for the terrorism designation: It is a "foreign" organization which "engages in terrorism or terrorist activity or retains the capability and intent to engage in terrorism or terrorist activity" and "threatens American nationals or the national security of the United States."

Mischaracterized by some as a state-run military, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps does not even include the word "Iran" in its name. It recognizes no boundaries. Rather, as "guardian" of the "Islamic Revolution," it answers only to the supreme leader and operates independently of the regular military. It is the core apparatus of repression, the primary driver of war and export of terrorism, and it runs Iran’s nuclear weapons and missile projects. The Guard also controls the lion’s share of Iran’s economy.

Deep State Damage Control: Steele Dossier Appears To Be False (And Maybe Was A Russian Disinformation Effort)
[Hot Air] Well, it took them a while to get there but the NY Times has finally taken notice that the Steele dossier appears to contain a lot of false and unverifiable garbage:
The 35-page dossier, spiced up with tales of prostitutes and spies, sketched out a hair-raising story more than two years ago. Russian intelligence had used bribery and blackmail to try to turn Donald J. Trump into a source and ally, it said, and the Kremlin was running some Trump campaign aides practically as agents.

But the release on Thursday of the report by the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, underscored what had grown clearer for months — that while many Trump aides had welcomed contacts with the Russians, some of the most sensational claims in the dossier appeared to be false, and others were impossible to prove. Mr. Mueller’s report contained over a dozen passing references to the document’s claims but no overall assessment of why so much did not check out…

Interviews with people familiar with Mr. Steele’s work on the dossier and the F.B.I.’s scramble to vet its claims suggest that misgivings about its reliability arose not long after the document became public — and a preoccupation of Trump opponents — in early 2017. Mr. Steele has made clear to associates that he always considered the dossier to be raw intelligence — not established facts, but a starting point for further investigation.

Hold on a minute. If Steele considered the dossier raw intelligence and merely cause for further investigation, why was he talking to multiple news outlets about the dossier prior to the election? He gave quotes to Mother Jones about it in October of 2016. That doesn’t sound like someone who is handling raw intelligence. It sounds like someone helping to dump oppo prior to the election.

New York Times article found at this link.

Forget Trump, Here Are Five Reasons Why Obama Should Have Been Impeached
[PJ] As Democrats privately admit to themselves that there was no Russian collusion, they’ve also shifted gears to focus on the question of obstruction of justice. Despite the Mueller investigation being loaded with anti-Trumpers, even they weren’t able to say that any obstruction occurred. If there’s anything the release of the Mueller report has exposed, it’s not criminal behavior or even impeachable offenses of President Trump, but rather the hypocrisy of Democrats who are willing to call anything an impeachable offense with Trump but pretended the corruption that occurred under Barack Obama was all above board. By any reasonable standard, Congress had multiple impeachable offenses they could have gone after Obama for, but didn’t. Their turning a blind eye to Obama’s corruption completely undermines their efforts today to scandalize Trump and proves that they see two standards of justice: one for Democrats, and one for Republicans. Here are five examples of impeachable offenses that Obama should have been held accountable for, but wasn’t.

Hillary Clinton's Two-Year Tantrum
[American Thinker] For the last two years we have all been forced to endure the temper tantrum thrown by Hillary Clinton over her second Presidential campaign loss just as the spectators in a grocery store aisle watch the young mother attempt to discipline her out-of-control toddler as it thrashes itself screaming across the floor.

The American people defeated Hillary in the Democrat Primary season of 2008. The popular version of that loss is that Obama overwhelmed the party with his charm. The reality is that Democratic Party voters chose his inexperience, melanin level, and vacuous campaign of "Hope and Change" over the known petulance and criminality that they had witnessed during the 1990s by the Clinton administration and didn't want to give the keys of the republic to the Clintons again.

Hillary and Patti Solis-Doyle ran a disastrous campaign in 2008 that was only superseded in its ineptitude by Hillary's and John Podesta's campaign of 2016. Barack Obama became the candidate and then president for two terms because of the second worst presidential campaign in American history.

Hillary's overarching personal ambition was that she was destined to be President of the United States. It wasn't that she was a popular candidate. It was merely her turn.

France warned Lebanon of possible Israeli attack- report
[Jpost] Gay Paree expressed concern regarding reports of precision-guided missiles on Lebanese soil, which Israel may strike at.

La Belle France warned Leb that Israel would attack precision-guided rocket systems belonging to Hezbollah, according to a report Saturday in the Holland-based paper al-Hayat.

The paper quoted Arab diplomatic sources as saying that "The French- who have so far been content as observers- inserted themselves into the Iranian line tightening around Syria and Leb, including Hezbollah, and joined in the escalating tone of American Secretary of State Mike Pompeo," after they understood the Americans were serious about ramping up sanctions on Iran.

According to the sources, Gay Paree expressed concern regarding reports of precision-guided missiles on Lebanese soil. The reports were sent by Israel to the French and to the Americans.

"La Belle France considers it Leb's responsibility to take steps to ensure that precision-guided rocket systems" will not have a presence in the country, said one source, "since Israel will not stand by the establishment of such systems with Iranian support." The source emphasized that La Belle France is moving closer to the American position in Syria, therefore it is also concerned about the situation in Leb.

Earlier this week, it was reported that the Lebanese Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil met with a senior Israeli official in Moscow, and discussed issues of borders, the Syrian war and Iranian weapons factories in Leb.

The Israeli official reportedly told Bassil that Israel does not consider Leb to be an enemy, but that it also will not hesitate to strike at Iranian and Hezbollah targets in Syria.

FBI arrests member of armed group stopping migrants at U.S.-Mexico border
[Jpost] The FBI on Saturday said it had tossed in the clink
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
Larry Hopkins, a member of an gang of U.S. citizens who have been stopping migrants colonists illegally crossing the U.S.-Mexico border in New Mexico.

Hopkins, 69, also known as Johnny Horton, was arrested in Sunland Park, New Mexico, on a federal complaint charging him with being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said in a statement.

Hopkins had represented himself as the commander of the United Constitutional Patriots (UCP), a volunteer group camped out near Sunland Park since late February. The UCP has posted videos showing their members holding migrants colonists, many of them Central American families with children seeking asylum, until U.S. Border Patrol arrives to arrest them.

The group drew a complaint from the American Civil Liberties Union, and widespread media attention, after an April 16 video showed a group of around 300 migrants colonists surrendering to the UCP at their camp.

New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham on Friday said citizens had no authority to arrest or detain anyone and police and justice officials were looking into the UCP's activities.

Hector Balderas, New Mexico's attorney general, described Hopkins as "a dangerous felon who should not have weapons around children and families."

"Today's arrest by the FBI indicates clearly that the rule of law should be in the hands of trained law enforcement officials, not armed vigilantes," Balderas said in a statement.

Hopkins, of Flora Vista, New Mexico, is expected to have an initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Las Cruces, N.M., on Monday, April 22, at 10:30 a.m.

Hoyer Backtracks After Primary Challenger Backs Impeachment: All Options on Table
[Breitbart] House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) on Thursday evening backtracked on his position that impeaching President Donald Trump after the release of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report would not be "worthwhile at this point" after his left-wing primary challenger called him a coward and stated that she was "in favor" of impeachment.

Hoyer told CNN earlier in the day that "the American people will make a better judgment" about whether to remove Trump than Congress in the 2020 election.

"Based on what we have seen to date, going forward on impeachment is not worthwhile at this point. Very frankly, there is an election in 18 months and the American people will make a judgment," Hoyer said.

In what may be a sign of things to come with other Democrats, after left-wing activists immediately started to call for Hoyer to be primaried, Hoyer then said that "all options ought to remain on the table."

"Congress must have the full report & all underlying evidence in order to determine what actions may be necessary to ensure that the Congress & the American people have all the info they need to know the truth & all options ought to remain on the table to achieve that objective," Hoyer tweeted later in the evening after receiving intense blowback from his left.

Mckayla Wilkes, Hoyer’s primary challenger, said she was "in favor" of impeaching Trump and left-wing activists started to immediately hype her primary campaign against Hoyer.

"Hoyer continues to show that he lacks the courage to stand up to the status quo. It’s times like this that we ask, "who’s side is he on?" @LeaderHoyer, if you stand for nothing, what’ll you fall for?" Wilkes tweeted. "@LeaderHoyer reminded us that an election is to come in 18 months implying that WE are responsible for stopping Trump. Time should not be the factor. Does honor, ethics and the rule of law mean nothing? Our republic is in grave danger under Trumps [sic] corrupt leadership! #Period."
He can "fronttrack" once if he wins re-election.

SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft suffers an anomaly during static fire testing at Cape Canaveral

Just six weeks after splashing down in the Atlantic Ocean following a successful Demo-1 test flight, the same SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft was set to perform multiple static fire tests on Saturday to verify that the capsule’s propulsion systems were functioning properly ahead of an inflight abort test planned for the summer. However, during the testing, the spacecraft suffered a significant anomaly. The incident will likely lead to further delays with NASA’s Commercial Crew Program.

On March 8th – after a four day stay at the International Space Station – Crew Dragon returned to Earth with a splashdown in the Atlantic Ocean. The mission was an uncrewed demonstration flight – called Demo-1 – meant to certify Crew Dragon for human spaceflight.

-Signs, Portents, and the Weather-
Vermont may abolish Columbus Day amid colonialism uproar
[NYPOST] Vermont is on the brink of abolishing Columbus Day in a politically correct blow against colonialism.

"You know, it’s just a day, and we’ll get through it," said Vermont Gov. Phil Scott (R).

He also said he is likely to sign the measure, which passed both houses of the state legislature this week, into law.

The legislation will officially recognize the second Monday in October as "Indigenous People’s Day," instead of honoring the explorer once credited with discovering America.

A last-ditch Republican attempt to preserve the October holiday and create a separate February holiday to honor Native Americans was defeated Wednesday.

The law would make Vermont the third state, after New Mexico and South Dakota, to yank Columbus Day off official calendars in favor of an anti-colonialist alternative.

Critics have attacked Columbus statues and celebrations in New York City and elsewhere, denouncing him as a murderer who mistreated Native Americans.

But Italian-Americans celebrate him as a national hero and mark the holiday as a point of ethnic pride.

province of Afghanistan, the Afghan military in the North said Friday.

The 209th Shaheen Corps in a statement said the couple was rubbed out at around noon time in Awzan Saqal Village in Gosfandi district the province.

The statement further added that circumstances surrounding the killing of the couple have not been ascertained so far.

The anti-government armed murderous Moslems including Taliban

Sar-e-Pul is among the relatively volatile provinces in Northeastern parts of the country. Talibs are active in some of its districts and often carry out terrorist related activities.

This comes as Talibs had snatched 100 sheep from the local residents in the same district nearly a week ago.

Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
over the killing of a journalist rubbed out in Northern Ireland, police said on Saturday, after a murder that has triggered international condemnation.

The 18 and 19-year-old men were arrested in Londonderry under anti-terror laws and taken to Belfast for questioning, the Police Service of Northern Ireland said.

Journalist Lyra McKee, 29, was shot in the head late on Thursday in Derry by, police believe, dissident republicans linked to the New IRA paramilitary group as they clashed with police in Northern Ireland's second city.

Tributes to the 29-year-old were led by her partner, Sara Canning, who said McKee's "amazing potential was snuffed out by this single barbaric act".

The leaders of Northern Ireland's main political parties ‐ who have been unable to form a regional government for more than two years ‐ joined together to condemn the killing.

Detectives hunting the gunman had released security camera footage of the unrest on Derry's Creggan estate, hoping that the community would help trace her killers.

...a grouping of Dari-speaking people of Sino-Tibetan descent inhabiting Afghanistan and Pakistain. They are predominantly Shia Moslems and not particularly warlike, which makes them favored targets...
families on Sunday and offer his condolences over last week's Hazarganji suicide kaboom, according to Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Information and Broadcasting, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan.

Awan, in her first media talk since her appointment earlier this week, said that the prime minister will be in Quetta tomorrow to "inaugurate a housing scheme and to condole [with the victims] of the unfortunate incident".

The newly appointed SAPM also announced that Minister for Power Omar Ayub Khan is being given the additional charge of the minister of petroleum ‐ a position held by Ghulam Sarwar Khan until the recent cabinet reshuffle.

She said that "a harmony is being created to bridge the disconnect between the people's expectations and the government's decisions, if there is any," adding that "this is number one on the prime minister's agenda now."

Awan said that "various ministries have been given a variety of targets to provide relief to the masses, especially in the month of Ramazan."

She said that the new finance and economic teams have been instructed to devise policies that are "aligned with the prime minister's vision and priorities".

Awan urged the opposition parties to "play their role and support the government in ridding the problems facing the people of Pakistain" but warned that "if they construe the government's oft-repeated desire for reconciliation as a sign of weakness then that would spawn problems."

Since Thursday, IS murderous Moslems have killed 35 pro-Damascus fighters in regime-held parts of central and eastern Syria, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

Observatory chief Rami Abdel Rahman said it was "the highest corpse count among regime forces since the caliphate was declared defeated" in the eastern village of Baghouz last month.

Regime fighters also came under attack on another front of Syria's grinding eight-year war, the Britannia-based monitor added.

On Saturday, murderous Moslems linked to Syria's former al-Qaeda affiliate attacked loyalists outside the northwestern region of Idlib, killing 26 pro-Assad fighters, it said.

It was the latest death tally in a civil war that has killed more than 370,000 people since starting in 2011 with the brutal repression of anti-government protests.

India-Pakistan
A new strategy
[DAWN] THE BJP government has unequivocally stated that it will repeal Articles 35-A and 370 of the Indian constitution if it is voted back into power. Article 370 provides an autonomous status to Jammu and Kashmire and Article 35-A prevents settlements or the acquisition of immovable property by non-Kashmiris in the occupied territory. These articles solely authorise the [occupied Kashmire] legislature to define "the classes of persons who are, or shall be, permanent residents of ... Jammu and Kashmire".

India’s constitutional absorption of occupied Jammu and Kashmire in the 1950s remains illegal under international law because the princely state (that includes Azad Kashmire and Gilgit-Baltistan) was to decide its own fate through a plebiscite carried out, as outlined under UN Security Council Resolution 47, under the auspices of the United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
Commission for India and Pakistain (UNCIP) formed under UN Security Council Resolution 39. Nevertheless, today, any protections taken away from the Kashmiri people or attempts to change the demographics of Indian Kashmiree by India would seriously compromise the right to self-determination and human rights
...not to be confused with individual rights, mind you...
of the Kashmiri people; it would also alter the status quo over Kashmire, violating Pakistain’s due process and international legal rights as a recognised state party to the Kashmire dispute.

Through these measures, such as its endeavour to define (or redefine) the permanent residency of India-occupied Jammu and Kashmire, India is openly violating numerous UN resolutions on Kashmire. Under UNCIP’s resolution of Jan 5, 1949, "all persons (other than citizens of the State) ... shall be required to leave the State" and "[a]ll citizens of the State who have left ... will be invited and be free to return". It is clear from this language that pending a plebiscite, any attempts to change the demographics of Kashmire or effect a transfer of its population would be illegal.

Afghanistan
Attack On Afghan Ministry Leaves Seven Dead
[ToloNews] The center of Kabul city witnessed a complex attack by at least four button men on Saturday after months of relative calm in the Afghan capital amid accelerating efforts for the grinding of the peace processor.

The attack started with a suicide kaboom outside the Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Technology in Kabul’s PD2 ‐ which is located in the once-famous 18-story building built during the Soviet occupation in Afghanistan.

The attackers breached the heavily-fortified compound an hour after the first kaboom and fought for five hours near and inside the first floor of the building.

The ministry is surrounded by other key government compounds ‐ including the Ministry of Information and Culture and the Central Postal Service Organization.

Employees of all the surrounding government organizations were evacuated sharply after the attack started at around 11:40 Kabul time. At least 2,000 employees of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology were either evacuated or were taken to the "safe rooms" as officials described it after the attack.

The center of the city, which connects main markets to other parts of Kabul, was paralyzed for the rest of the day after the attack happened.

Ministry of Interior in a statement later in the day said that at least seven people, including three security force members, were killed and six others were maimed in the attack.

The button men had police and military uniforms, said Sayed Mohammad Roshandil, Kabul’s Police Chief.

The incident left the employees of the Ministry of Communication in shock as some of them were "not able" to talk to TOLOnews after they were evacuated from the building, the TOLOnews news hound Tamim Hamid described.

According to the Ministry of Interior, The attack ended at around 5pm Kabul time.

Qureshi calls on Iran, Afghanistan to take action against terrorist groups behind Ormara massacre
[DAWN] Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Wormtongue Qureshi on Saturday said that Pakistain expected both Iran and Afghanistan to take action against the terrorist groups behind the Ormara massacre.

While addressing a presser in Islamabad, Qureshi said that the whole country was "angry and upset" over the incident and wanted to know why this incident had taken place and who was behind it.

At least 14 passengers were picked out with the help of their National Identity Cards (NICs), forcibly offloaded from their bus and then rubbed out by person or persons unknown on the Makran Coastal Highway in Ormara, Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
early on Thursday.

Qureshi today confirmed that "BRA" ‐ an alliance of a number of Baloch terrorist organizations ‐ had come forward and grabbed credit for this "ghastly event".

He stated, "on the basis of verified information", that the training and logistical camps of this new alliance were based inside Iran's borders.

Qureshi added that following investigations and confirmation, this information has been shared with Iranian authorities.

He said that the location of the camps has also been identified.

The foreign minister said that Pakistain expects Iran to take action against these outfits. Additionally, he said that Pakistain also expects action to be taken by Afghanistan as the BRA's presence and leadership has also been identified there.

Qureshi said that Islamabad expected Kabul to help the country with the same spirit that Pakistain was working towards establishing peace and stability in Afghanistan.

He shared that specific forensic evidence was available, which he said could be shared to trace these "criminals".

"They're criminals who have done this incident," Qureshi reiterated.

The foreign minister shared that he had spoken to his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Javad Zarif, prior to the presser and shared the sentiments of the Pak people as well as the expectations of the government.

Bosnia brings back, detains Islamic fighter from Syria

They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
in Syria has been transferred to Bosnia and put in detention, Bosnia's prosecutor's office said on Saturday.

After the collapse of Islamic State's self-declared caliphate in Syria and Iraq, countries around the world are wrestling with how to handle forces of Evil and their families seeking to return.

"I.C, 24, is suspected for criminal acts of organising a terrorist group, illegal formation and of joining foreign paramilitary or para-police formations, and terrorism," the prosecutor's office said in a statement.

Bosnia's state court has tried and convicted 46 people who have returned from Syria or Iraq in the past few years.

Local media identified the man as Ibro Cufurovic from the northwestern town of Velika Kladusa who, along with Armin Curt, 22, from Sarajevo, were tossed into the calaboose by the Kurdish militia more than a year ago.

The prosecution outlined the assistance of the United States in bringing the man back. The United States is the ally of the Kurdish militia operating in the northern Syria.

According to Bosnian intelligence, 241 adults and 80 children left Bosnia or the Bosnian diaspora in 2012-2016 for Syria and Iraq, where 150 more children were born. About 100 adults, including 49 women, remained there while at least 88 have been killed or died.

Several women with children, including the Cufurovic's wife, have pleaded with the Bosnian authorities to be allowed to return home but there is still no clear policy in place on how to deal with them because their children do not hold Bosnian citizenship.

Also on Saturday, another Balkan state, Kosovo, brought back 110 of its citizens from Syria including fighters and 74 children.

Sudan protest leaders to unveil civilian ruling body
[DAWN] Sudanese protest leaders have announced plans to unveil a civilian body to take over from the ruling military council as demonstrators thronged on Friday outside army headquarters.

The military council, which took power after ousting longtime leader Omar al-Bashir
Head of the National Congress Party. He came to power in 1989 when he, as a brigadier in the Sudanese army, led a group of officers in a bloodless military coup that ousted the government of Prime Minister Sadiq al-Mahdi and eventually appointed himself president-for-life. He has fallen out with his Islamic mentor, Hasan al-Turabi, tried to impose shariah on the Christian and animist south, resulting in its secessesion, and attempted to Arabize Darfur by unleashing the barbaric Janjaweed on it. Sudan's potential prosperity has been pissed away in warfare that has left as many as 400,000 people dead and 2.5 million displaced. Omar has been indicted for genocide by the International Criminal Court but nothing is expected to come of it.
on April 11, has so far resisted calls from protesters to quickly make way for a civilian administration.

The Sudanese Professionals Association, which has been spearheading the protests, said in a statement that it would name members of the council at a news conference at on Sunday outside the army complex, to which foreign diplomats are also invited.

"We are demanding that this civilian council, which will have representatives of the army, replace the military council," Ahmed al-Rabia, a leader of the umbrella group of unions for doctors, engineers and teachers, said.

Friday marked four months to the day since the government tripled the price of bread, sparking the first protests which escalated into widespread rallies demanding Bashir’s departure.

Access roads were packed, with crowds flocking the huge square outside army headquarters to offer the weekly Moslem prayers.

Islamic Center balks at City Councilor's complaint on security car that resembles others
[SCTimes] The city of St. Cloud this week issued a cease-and-desist order against the Islamic Center of St. Cloud because its security vehicle looks too similar to a police vehicle.

But the president of the center said Thursday they modeled the vehicle's design after other area security vehicles at organizations such as CentraCare Health and Crossroads Center.

Now the city is now looking to curb the use of all non-compliant security vehicles, including those in use at religious centers, businesses and schools such as St. Cloud State University.

Mayor Dave Kleis was alerted to the issue Sunday when City Council member Paul Brandmire called him to report the vehicle, which he said looked similar in color and design to a St. Cloud squad car.

Brandmire said the vehicle reminded him of vehicles he has heard were used in other states like New York to "enforce Sharia Law."

"That raised all kind of red flags," Brandmire said Wednesday. "Why do they need a patrol car?"

He said he didn't know what the vehicle was being used for in St. Cloud.

Mohayadin Mohamed, president of the center, said the vehicle is used for safety and security purposes such as directing traffic.

"It's common sense for when you have that number of people coming at the same time," he said. "Because we're a private organization, we feel that it's our responsibility to at least have some presence of security on our premises.

"They are not out patrolling any neighborhood. We are not going out into the city and walking around," Mohamed added. "This is specifically for our building and our parking lots."

St. Cloud Assistant Police Chief Jeff Oxton said the city talked to the vehicle's owners Tuesday after finding the vehicle violated state law because only law enforcement can use certain colors such as white for public safety vehicles.

After investigating the center's vehicle, Kleis said, the city found other area security vehicles also not in compliance with state statute because many are white with "security" written on the side.

Mohamed said the center has consulted with the police department in the past in regard to general security questions. The center looked to other area security vehicles for inspiration, Mohamed said.

"Those are the designs we looked at," he said. "And all of a sudden this week we've been hearing about a City Council member having an issue with this car. ... It's crazy when you have elected officials talking about issues in other states when they don't talk to their own constituents."

Mohamed said the center is working with the police department to change the car's appearance so it doesn't violate state statute.

"The good thing is we have a good relationship with the city," he said.

Kleis said the city is consulting with the League of Minnesota Cities and wants to give all the owners of the vehicles time to come into compliance.

"We're going to make sure we treat all of those vehicles exactly the same," he said.

Minnesota State Statute 169.98 states all vehicles used by security guards "may have any color other than those specified" for law enforcement vehicles.

The law states municipal police department vehicles "shall be predominantly blue, brown, green, black or white" and the "identity of the government unit operating the vehicle shall be displayed on both front door panels and on the rear of the vehicle."

The law states a security guard may continue to use a motor vehicle that is predominantly black in the course of the individual's employment if the vehicle was being used in that manner before August 2002; a security guard may continue to use a motor vehicle that is predominantly gold in the course of the individual's employment if the vehicle was being used in that manner before August 2012.

Minnesota law states a regulatory agency may issue a cease-and-desist order to stop a person from violating any law.

The person receiving the order has the right to request a hearing on the matter, but if the person does not comply with an order, the regulatory agency may take the person to court or impose a fine.

BREAKING: 3 churches bombed at Easter services in Sri Lanka UPDATE: 400+ Casualties 262 Dead
[Twitter]

Update from Dar at 1:35 a.m. ET:
Easter Bombings on Two Churches Kill/Wound 160+

[Reuters] Two Sri Lankan churches and two hotels were hit by explosions on Easter Sunday, wounding several people, police sources said. The hotels and one of the churches are in the nation’s capital Colombo. The other church is in Negombo, north of Colombo.

A source in the police bomb squad said that one of the explosions was at St Anthony’s Church in Kochcikade, Colombo. "Our people are engaged in evacuating the casualties," the source said.

Sources from two leading tourist hotels in Colombo also confirmed the explosions but did not give any details.

Colombo National hospital said several wounded had been brought in for treatment.

St. Sebastian’s church at Katuwapitiya in Negombo posted pictures of destruction inside the church on its Facebook page, showing blood on pews and the floor, and requested help from the public.

There were no immediate claims of responsibility.
Bild reports several dead and at least 160 wounded.

#2  During Easter Mass, according to The Times of Israel, which adds:

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the apparent coordinated attack.

Sri Lanka’s police chief made a nationwide alert 10 days before Sunday’s bomb attacks in the country that suicide bombers planned to target “prominent churches,” according to the warning seen by AFP.

“A foreign intelligence agency has reported that the NTJ (National Thowheeth Jama’ath) is planning to carry out suicide attacks targeting prominent churches as well as the Indian high commission in Colombo,” said the alert, which was sent by police chief Pujuth Jayasundara to top officers.

The NTJ is a radical Muslim group in Sri Lanka that came to notice last year when it was linked to the vandalization of Buddhist statues.

According to hospital officials, at least 40 people were killed in the Colombo attacks; at least 62 were killed in Negombo, north of the capital; and at least 27 were killed in Batticalao, on the country’s eastern coast.

Based on the warning I am moving this to Page 1: War on Terror. Thank you, Dar, for bringing us the first update — you’ll note I stacked it with 3dc’s first post, to corral discussion in one thread.

May God damn the perpetrators and all their supporters to the depths of Hell, and may those that lived be speedily caught.

#3  Analysis from the Jerusalem Post:

Christians make up only around eight percent of the country and Muslims an additional 12 percent. In 2016 Sri Lanka revealed that thirty-two Sri Lankans had joined ISIS and left the country. Many were said to be from educated families, something that surprised authorities. The local Muslim community condemned the government’s statements as “tarnishing the image” of Sri Lankan Muslims. An Australian member of ISIS was similarly shown to have a respected uncle back home in Sri Lanka. Other reports indicated ISIS members in India had connections to Sri Lanka and there were concerns after the defeat of ISIS about ISIS returnees. This appears similar to the process of extremism in Bangladesh before the 2016 Dhaka attack which was carried out by educated ISIS perpetrators and targeted foreigners in a café.

213 dead and 1009 wounded in Tripoli fighting: WHO
[Libya Herald] The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that the corpse count in the Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
fighting has now reached 213 dead and 1009 maimed. It said its medical teams continue assisting surgical staff across local hospitals. It reported that two more ambulances have been damaged and called on all parties to protect civilians, health workers and health facilities.

On the international stage, the UN Security Council fails to agree a resolution in closed session that calls for a ceasefire, as the USA and Russia block any consensual statement.

The Serraj Interior Ministry, meanwhile, has halted all cooperation with La Belle France in the security sector. This comes despite official confirmation of its support for the Serraj government.

On the fighting front, the pro-Faiez Serraj forces, recognized by the international community, claimed to have pushed the Khalifa Hafter-forces on a number of fronts. They claimed to have captured armoured vehicles from the retreating Hafter forces in Swani, Zahra and Aziziya.

They also claim that the Hafter forces have been forced to retreat from the Western Nefusa Mountain town of Gharian. If this is confirmed, this would be a strategic set back for the Hafter forces as Gharian is an important logistic point for supplies from the east and south.

Meanwhile,
...back at the fist fight, Jake ducked another roundhouse, then parried with his left, then with his right, finally with his chin...
the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said that a significant number of civilians who were trapped were finally able to exit the Khalat al Furjan and Ain Zara areas in the south west of Tripoli on 17 April, accompanied by local evacuation teams.

This development came after interventions by the UN, advocating for safe passage of civilians from conflict-affected areas. Through this humanitarian corridor, first responder teams also assisted people who decided to remain in the affected areas to protect their assets.

#1  213 over 14 days, for an average of 15 a day. Pretty low intensity conflict. In Vietnam, the number of people killed on both sides, including civilians, came to about 500 a day. That is literally >30x the daily body count in Libya. At this rate, they could fight for decades without making a dent in the total population. With the exception of a few thousand suicide bombers, modern day Muslim armies seem to talk about martyrdom a lot while avoiding combat like the plague.

Police arrest 'yellow vest' demonstrators as protests resume
[AlAhram] French police said they enjugged
Into the paddy wagon wit' yez!
more than 100 "yellow vest" demonstrators on Saturday in Gay Paree as thousands of protestors erupted into the streets for a 23rd week of anti-government marches.

AFP journalists reported scuffles between police and protesters in the afternoon, after hours of calm, as police used anti-riot grenades and tear gas to disperse marchers in the centre of the French capital.

Police headquarters reported 126 arrests and 11,000 checks on individual protesters.

Gay Paree seemed to bear the brunt of Saturday's protests, but other French cities were also expecting demonstrations.

Earlier this month, French President Emmanuel Macron signed into law legislation that gave security forces greater powers at demonstrations but which opponents claimed violated civil liberties.

One measure banned protestors from covering their faces, but La Belle France's Constitutional Council, its highest constitutional authority, refused to give its green light to one of the most contentious parts of the legislation.

It would also have given the authorities the power to ban from demonstrations any individual "posing a particularly serious threat to public order".

The "yellow vest" movement is demanding changes to the government's social and fiscal policies.
The Jerusalem Post has more precise numbers:
Clashes broke out between dozens of demonstrators and police in Paris on the 23rd Saturday of yellow-vest protests after authorities warned that rioters could return to the French capital to spark a new wave of violence.

Dozens of black-hooded demonstrators threw rocks at police and some set fire to scooters and trash cans in the center of the French capital, according to Reuters TV footage.

Police responded by firing tear gas and stun grenades. Some officers also marched toward demonstrators to control the crowd and funnel it to Paris' Place de la Republique, where most of the demonstrators were contained in the late afternoon.

As of 1200 GMT, a total of 9,600 people were demonstrating across France, including 6,700 in Paris, the interior ministry said.

This is more than last week's protest, which drew 7,500 demonstrators, but represents only a fraction of the record 282,000 estimated on Nov. 17, the first day of the protests.

As of 1300 GMT, 110 people had been arrested and placed in custody, the Paris prosecutor's office said.

Several demonstrators clearly alluded to the catastrophic fire at Notre-Dame cathedral on Monday, which prompted an outpouring of national sorrow and a rush by rich families and corporations to pledge around 1 billion euros ($1.12 billion) for its reconstruction.

"Millions for Notre-Dame, what about for us, the poor?" read a sign worn by a demonstrator. "Everything for Notre-Dame, nothing for the miserables," read another sign that evoked Victor Hugo's well-known novel.

Large portions of the Paris metro network were closed and about 60,000 police were deployed across France, authorities said.

Police also fired tear gas in the city of Toulouse, where thousands of people were demonstrating, including hundreds of motor-bikers holding a large banner asking for President Emmanuel Macron's resignation.

There were about 1,500 to 2,000 people demonstrating in the streets of Bordeaux, according to a Reuters witness.

The Daily Mail has the usual photos and video.

Here it comes: Globalist Operative: Pedophilia is a ‘Sexual Orientation' and Pedophiles Are ‘Born' That Way
Wrong. Pedophilia is an unacceptable kink, and pedophiles are made as a result of an accumulation of life experiences. Someone has gone native, as it were.
[BigLeaguePolitics] Psychologist Madeleine van der Bruggen advises law enforcement on sex crimes in the Netherlands and is arguing for pedophiles’ rights.

Psychologist Madeleine van der Bruggen is an adviser to the Dutch National Police, as a supposed expert on sex crimes. She is using her position of authority to lobby on behalf of pedophiles, arguing at TEDxSittard-Geleen that they are "born" with this "sexual orientation."

"We’re talking about biology, we’re talking about sexual orientation," she said. "Something that we simply cannot change, and on top of that, everyday new people are born with the same difficulty, so its not practical to eliminate these people from society."

"They haven’t done anything wrong," van der Bruggen said of individuals who find sexual attraction to children.

The talk was given last year at the TEDxSittardGeleen conference, a spin-off of the popular Ted talks series that is organized independently. It can be seen in full here:

<

The Dutch psychologist argued during her speech that more leniency is needed for pedophiles. She built her argument using emotional appeals to the audience.

"In fact, sex offenders aren’t all those violent gruesome men waiting in the bushes for children they can attack," she said.

Van der Bruggen even seemed to imply that because some pedophiles have friends, family and ties to the community that these individuals should be coddled by the system instead of punished for their acts.

Then she took it a step further and had the audacity to suggest to the audience that their fathers, husbands, and sons could very well be pedophiles.

"What if this time the offender is your neighbor, your colleague, your football mate?" she asked the audience. "What if this time the offender is your husband or your son? What if this time the police show up at your doorstep?"

She made note that pedophiles should be jailed if they have "committed a lot of offenses," but seemed okay with letting child sex offenders free if they had only committed a handful of crimes.

"We shouldn’t think about this problem only from a criminal justice perspective... Of course when someone has committed a lot of offenses and doesn’t ever intend to stop, we should punish them, but the criminal justice system is only meant to be a last resort, and we should keep it that way," she said.

After a bizarre non-sequitur about #metoo hysteria, she concluded her speech arguing that society needs to "break the taboo" surrounding pedophilia and sex crimes.

"Let’s stop with hate. Let’s stop with negative vibes in the media, and let’s stop with throwing rocks at offenders’ houses because it’s not going to take us anywhere," van der Bruggen said.

Van der Bruggen’s speech is apart of a global trend to mainstream the sexualization of children and remove social stigma for pedophiles. Drag queens are openly grooming children at public libraries, children as young as eight are being drugged for gender reassignment surgery, states are doling out millions to entities promoting child abuse, and gyrating kids are centerpieces for strip shows at bars.

Modern liberals are enthusiastically sacrificing the innocence of children on the altar of diversity and tolerance. The West will continue down the slippery slope toward Sodom and Gomorrah until progressivism is brought to an end.

#4  I believe gays are born gay and bisexuals are born bisexual so I'm ready to believe pedophilia is also something one is born with.

Having said that, you generally can't 'fix' things we are born with so I'm not sure pedophiles are going to like the prescription to the problem because tolerating the victimization of children is not something an society can do and survive.

#5  The only pedophile offender I"d let free is one that has no offense to their record and keeps their mouth shut o that nobody knows their issues. I'd say that if people are born with the problem even psychiatrists should be forced to report them as a danger to society.

#6  well if it really is a genetic issue, deal with it eugenically. Eliminate all carriers of the undesirable trait so it doesn't get passed on to the next generation.

That being said, I doubt the bulk of pedophiles result from genetic predisposition. I think they had a sexual experience at an early age with a similarly young person and are trying to recapture the moment. Solution: since psychological treatment is pretty much useless in this instance, see solution #1 above.

#9  I don't know if this is going to go away. At one time, homosexuality was considered an abomination. The it became more and more acceptable, until today, gays are a protected class. Immediately after gay marriage was established as a "right", trans became the next big thing. Now, pedophilia is seen as an abomination in today's society. Someday, we may see demands for LGBTQP rights as well.
Mind you, I don't support any of this, but given current circumstances in society, I could see it happening.

#11  Then she took it a step further and had the audacity to suggest to the audience that their fathers, husbands, and sons could very well be pedophiles.

She seems to confine the behavior of pedos to men; women as well are pedos.

She doesn't give any consideration to the victims of pedos and the harm they cause in society.

#12  Pretty dogmatic. Any substantiation?

No substantiation, Skidmark. But it looks like a learnt response rather than intrinsic behaviour. Otherwise the victims would have gloried in and enjoyed it, rather than being afraid and ashamed. And in other mammal species one sees examples of homos3xuality, but not, as far as I am aware, with the immature. I suspect the good psychologist grew up reading Marion Zimmer Bradley and certain other popular science fiction/fantasy authors in her youth.

Interest premise, nurture over nature. Some minor research of mine suggests that the late writings of Heinlein, Asimov, et.al. were sexually charged, not because of psychedelic imagery and social comment as Huxley and Ellison but simple (?) declining years dementia expressing primal systems thinking.

#14  Nature vs. nuture — precisely. My mother’s professional area of interest, so my childhood was saturated with that approach.

I always assumed those writers did it because it had become fashionable after Stranger in a Strange Land, and their editors thought it would increase sales.

Must be a democrat. Doesn't give a rats ass about the real victims but would rather manufacture 'victims' so they can blame society - or vaguely defined groups.

#17  "I don't know if this is going to go away." I don't know, it seems one of the many signs of a growing decadence, like Weimar Germany. At some point a big event will shake things up and end the naval gazing that leads to decadence, or we will be replaced by a less decadent society.

110 Kosovars, mostly children and women, returned from Syria
[Rudaw] Kosovo authorities announced Saturday they have brought back from Syria 110 Kosovar citizens, mostly women and kiddies, with the assistance of the United States.

Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri, top policeman Rashit Qalaj and a health official told journalists early Saturday that "a planned operation to bring back some of our citizens from Syria ended successfully" bringing back four alleged fighters with the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group, 32 women and 74 children, without giving more details "due to the sensitivity of the case."

Nine children had lost parents during the fighting in Syria.

The group has been taken to a center in Vranidoll, 10 kilometers from the capital Pristina, to be taken care of before sent to homes in the next 72 hours.

Three children were seen playing football inside the shelter, well-protected by special police force surrounding its perimeter.

The four suspected fighters were placed in durance vile
I ain't sayin' nuttin' widdout me mout'piece!
Tahiri said a task force was created in October in close cooperation with the United States.

"Our message is clear: The Kosovo government will strongly continue to prevent and fight violent extremism and terrorism," he said.

The U.S. embassy in Pristina commended Kosovo’s move for setting "an important example" and applauded its "compassion in accepting the return of this large number of civilians."

"The United States remains grateful to the Syrian Democratic Forces for their support in the repatriation and for continuing to humanely detain hundreds more ISIS fighters from dozens of countries," it added.

The minister considered the women and kiddies to be "innocent victims," adding that the authorities had plans to rehabilitate and reintegrate them into society.

More than 400 Kosovars initially joined holy warrior groups in Syria and Iraq, but none has left in the past three years, according to Kosovo authorities.

Qalaj said that 30 Kosovo citizens are still actively supporting the groups there, and there are also 49 women and eight children.

"We shall not allow our citizens to turn into a threat to the Western world and will take all to ensure that those accountable face the law," Tahiri said, adding that "there is no amnesty for any person, be it a woman or a man, who has committed an holy warrior or terror act."

Here’s How Jewish Groups Are Planning For The Next Pittsburgh
[Jpost] Six months after the massacre of 11 Jewish worshippers at the Tree of Life synagogue complex in Pittsburgh, several dozen officials met in a conference room overlooking the National Mall.
Dear Reader, here is something for you to think about — and possibly take back — to harden your own church/community center/school/workplace. Because most of these kinds of attacks have not been done by jihadis against Jews, and even so little as arming leadership types with cell phones to call the police in the case of an attack is enough to make a difference.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Slandering Mister Lincoln
[NYPOST] The historical fiction "Courting Mr. Lincoln" focuses on the relationship between Abraham Lincoln and his future wife, Mary Todd ‐ as well as his best friend, Joshua Speed, with whom he shared a bed while living in Springfield, Ill. The Post talked to author Louis Bayard about why Honest Abe’s sex life made such compelling material for his novel (published by Algonquin Books), out Tuesday.

Lincoln was open about sharing a bed with Speed ‐ was this a common arrangement at the time?
It was a common arrangement among bachelors because beds were expensive. [What was strange] was the length of time [they shared the bed] ‐ three years. And they got married late in life.

What research did you do?
I learned as much as I can about these guys, and the book is a promiscuous mixture of fact and invention. The book that was helpful was "The Intimate World of Abraham Lincoln" by C.A. Tripp. He was a Kinsey Institute sex researcher and the first to declare that Lincoln was homosexual. The book is a bit over-the-top and was savaged at the time, but it was the first to bring up that possibility. Although [Lincoln biographer] Carl Sandburg brought up in his 1926 biography that the friendship had a "streak of lavender," which was code.

Were there ever whispers of Lincoln being gay from his political opponents?
I’ve never come across a whisper of that nature. There were whispers about James Buchanan. One of the things that did come up with Lincoln’s early biographers is that he wasn’t a player with the gals. Even his own stepmother, who adored him, said he was never much for girls.

The Grand Turk
Tipping point? Istanbul vote result marks watershed in political history
[Rudaw] This is the first of a two-part series on the potential impact of the Ottoman Turkish local-election results on the geopolitics of the region.

The Istanbul electoral board offices' decision to declare the Ottoman Turkish opposition party candidate the winner of the mayoral race may seem like an event of relatively minor importance for a region that generates a disproportionately large amount of international news. But for those who monitor broad political trends of the Middle East and North Africa region, the April 17 scenes of cheering supporters of the secularist CHP's Ekrem Imamoglu in Istanbul's Caglayan district receiving the mandate hold the symbolic significance of a political earthquake.

Maybe, just maybe, the high noon of political Islam, or Islamism, has passed.
