Hillary's Coughing Fits Return, With A Vengeance
No big deal - she was just re-recording the first seven seconds of Black Sabbath's Sweet Leaf...

Hillary Clinton struggled to fight back a coughing fit while campaigning in Cleveland, Ohio, on Monday.

"I've been talking so much," Clinton said with a horse voice. "Every time I think about Trump, I get allergic."

Every time I think of you, Hillary, I think of flying ashtrays...

Hillary Takes Tough, Hard Hitting Questions From The Press
Ah, who am I kidding? She's a Democrat, so we get these instead:
[RealClearPolitics] Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton greeted the press who are traveling on her new airplane on Monday morning and took a few questions.

Clinton, under pressure for not holding a press conference for nearly 280 days, was peppered with questions like, "How was your Labor Day weekend?" Another question: "Are you ready?"

"Do you have a Labor Day message?" one reporter asked.

"I do, you'll hear it," Clinton answered. "I definitely, I definitely do. If you want more happy Labor Days, you know who to vote for."

"Thanks, I'll come back later," Clinton said as she exited the cabin that holds the press.
"If you were a tree, what kind of a tree would you be?"

Megan Rapinoe (USWNT) Latest Asshat To Kneel During Nat'l Anthem
I used to love her, now....
Comment truncated. We don't go there for Americans, Raj.

-- trailing wife at 2:13 p.m. ET
Soccer star Megan Rapinoe pulled a "Kaepernick" Sunday, kneeling during the National Anthem in an echoing nod to the San Francisco quarterback’s controversial protest.

Rapinoe took a knee as "The Star-Spangled Banner" played before her Seattle Reign’s game against the Chicago Red Stars in Chicago in what she called "a little nod" to NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

"It was very intentional," the midfielder told American Soccer Now after Seattle’s 2-2 tie in the National Women’s Soccer League game
You're a regular Rosa Fucking Parks, Megan - no Xmas card for you this year! Enjoy getting those quarters & batteries tossed your way. Looks like Crystal Dunn's my new favorite now; you're dead to me...

#1  I feel so awful for all these poor professional athletes being forced to take icky white people's (they invented slavery, you know) money to play children's games.

In the spirit of racial reconciliation, I think yucky white people should stop paying money for tickets and merchandise, and giving business to the advertisers.

Then those poor athletes won't be forced to take our blood money (which we got from the slaves or something) anymore.

Let the healing begin.

#2  If any of these kids would offer a plan, what to do, how to fix the problems they are protesting, I'd be willing to listen/read.

Other than cries of racism and chants about police, I haven't heard or read anything that purports to address how to effect the change being asked for. I'm not even really sure what this protest protests.

There was a time when allowing young men or any race to appear in public looking like thugs was proscribed behaviour. Parents, neighbors, teachers, peers all exerted core cultural values that exhorted self-respect and responsibility for one owns actions. Even if you were poor there was no excuse for being dirty or slovenly. Being polite was a demonstration of respect for others, and yet more importantly, a demonstration of self-respect.

Now, if the kids in my yard would please leave...

Iran's Khamenei blasts Saudi management of holy sites
"We'd do a better job. More rock-throwing, less Stamepedey"
With Iranians blocked from this month's hajj pilgrimage, their supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a furious rebuke to rival Saudi Arabia, saying the Muslim world should challenge its management of Islam's holiest sites.

"Saudi rulers... who have blocked the proud and faithful Iranian pilgrims' path to the Beloved's House, are disgraced and misguided people who think their survival on the throne of oppression is dependent on defending the arrogant powers of the world, on alliances with Zionism and the US," Khamenei said.

He accused Saudi Arabia's ruling family, who are the custodians of Islam's holiest sites in Mecca and Medina, of politicising the annual hajj pilgrimage, due to start at the end of the week, turning themselves into "small and puny Satans who tremble for fear of jeopardising the interests of the Great Satan (the United States)".

For the first time in almost three decades, Iranians have been effectively barred from participating in this year's pilgrimage to Mecca after talks on logistics and security fell apart.

China-Japan-Koreas
Norks fire missiles at Sea of Japan
North Korea fired three ballistic missiles Monday morning, according to South Korea's military. The missiles were fired from areas around Hwangju county, in North Hwanghae province, towards the Sea of Japan, South Korea's military said in a statement.

Officials said the launch was believed to be of mid-range Rodong missiles, and flew about 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) "without giving any prior navigational warning."

It comes just under two weeks after Pyongyang test-fired a submarine-launched ballistic missile. That missile entered Japan's air defense identification zone, the first time that has happened.
Notice the new launches didn't get close enough to Japan to cause Japan to shoot back, which they just might do...
In a statement, the US said it "strongly condemns" the multiple launches, which came at a potentially embarrassing time for North Korea's only real ally, China, which is currently hosting the G20 summit in Hangzhou.
But no one in that part of the world cares what we say...
From the summit, a senior US official said the launch was "reckless" and could pose threats to civil aviation and maritime commerce in the region. The official said the US would raise its concerns at the East Asia Summit in Laos, which President Obama is scheduled to attend this week.
Why wait? He's in China today...
Japan's Defense Minister Tomomi Inada said the launch was a "serious threat" to the country's security, and it was clear North Korea was learning from past failures.

"Looking at the fact that the three missiles have landed on almost the same spot at almost the same time, I think their missile technology has substantially improved," she said.

Meanwhile, China's foreign minister spokeswoman Hua Chunying called for calm. "At the moment, the situation on the (Korean) peninsula is quite complex and sensitive," Hua said.

"We hope all relevant parties can avoid taking actions that may escalate tensions, and can make joint efforts to maintain peace and stability on the peninsula."
China pets its lapdog for yet another performance. The treat is forthcoming...
"This is Pyongyang's way of reminding everyone of their existence at a moment when all the parties are together, in a typically defiant, North Korean way," John Delury, assistant professor at Yonsei University in South Korea, told CNN.
It's also China's way of reminding everyone that they have a rabid lapdog...
The launches also came hours after Chinese President Xi Jinping told his South Korean counterpart at the G20 that Beijing opposes the deployment of the United States' THAAD missile defense system to South Korea.

"Mishandling the issue is not conducive to strategic stability in the region and could intensify disputes," Xi was quoted as telling Park Geun-hye, according to a report from China's official

The stated purpose of the THAAD system is to defend South Korea from missile attack from the North, but Beijing views it as an attempt to shift the regional power balance in favor of US allies.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has previously said the deployment of the anti-missile system could jeopardize "China's legitimate national security interests."
So let's fire missiles towards Japan. That'll convince everyone that THAAD isn't needed...
"THAAD has a range that could hit weapons in China," said Yvonne Chiu, an expert on military policy and diplomacy at Hong Kong University. She added that China was understandably concerned "about having a US made, US run missile system in its backyard."

Delury says that while the Chinese "recognize that something has to be done about North Korea," they view the THAAD system as "killing a chicken with an ax."
We'd appreciate the opportunity to wring the chicken's neck quietly, but the Chinese won't let us do that either...
While the latest tests may seem to undermine Beijing's anti-THAAD argument, Delury says it "will create more tension between the South Koreans and the Chinese," which will benefit Pyongyang.

Southeast Asia
India and Vietnam Boost Military, Commercial Ties
HANOI—India on Saturday agreed to provide Vietnam with a $500 million loan for defense purposes, a further sign of warming ties between two countries in separate territorial disputes with China.
Bet the Chinese are happy about this one...
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Xuan Phuc also announced after their meeting in Hanoi that Vietnam and India have upgraded their diplomatic relations to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership from strategic partnership.

“Our decision to upgrade our strategic partnership to a comprehensive strategic partnership will provide a new direction and momentum to our bilateral cooperation,” Mr. Modi said. “Our common efforts will also contribute to stability, security and prosperity in this region.”

The alliance between India and Vietnam is set to develop further in the wake of Mr. Modi’s visit. India is negotiating to sell supersonic Brahmos cruise missiles to Vietnam, a deal that might also include the stationing of Indian technicians there to maintain the hardware.

Defense analysts say the weapons are ideally suited to taking out naval targets. In seeking to upgrade military capabilities as China improves its own capabilities, Vietnam has emerged as the world’s eighth-largest arms importer from 2011 to 2015, according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute.

Military cooperation between the two countries has moved forward quickly over the past decade. There have been several high-ranking military exchanges, and in 2014 India signed an agreement to lend Vietnam $100 million to buy defense equipment.

Indian warships have also made a point of visiting Vietnamese ports, part of Hanoi’s own policy of encouraging more international navies into the contested waters of the South China Sea, where both Vietnam and China have overlapping claims to some of the world’s busiest shipping lanes. New Delhi, in turn, has made Vietnam a focal point of its policy to expand its economic and diplomatic ties in East Asia.

Vietnam and India on Saturday also signed an agreement for India’s Larsen & Toubro Ltd. to design and build vessels for the Vietnam Coast Guard, and to transfer shipbuilding technologies to Vietnam. The two countries also signed several other cooperation agreements, covering cybersecurity, information technology, health care, environment and naval-information issues.

The commercial relationship between India and Vietnam—two of Asia’s fastest-growing economies—is also deepening, aiming to triple trade to $15 billion by 2020. Indian energy firm ONGC Videsh Ltd. is working with Vietnam’s state-run oil company PetroVietnam to develop oil and gas reserves off Vietnam’s coast.

Preeti Saran, a senior official in India’s foreign ministry, told reporters in New Delhi on Thursday that negotiations have started for Indian energy firms to acquire additional exploration rights in Vietnamese waters. She also pointed to Tata Power Co.’s $1.8 billion thermal-power project in Vietnam as a key to placing India among the top 10 investors in Vietnam.

Still, China’s expanding influence both in the South China Sea and the Indian Ocean colors Mr. Modi’s visit. India, too, has its own territorial dispute with China, with the two nations disagreeing on the exact location of the nearly 2,200-mile border that separates them.

Carlyle Thayer, emeritus professor and a Vietnam expert at the Australian Defence Force Academy, notes that the Indian leader’s visit to Vietnam follows high-level Chinese visits to Pakistan last year, where China is helping to finance the development and expansion of the deep-water port at Gwadar on the Arabian Sea. The port is an important component in Beijing’s efforts to expand trade and influence across Asia and into the Middle East and Africa.

Mr. Modi leaves Vietnam today for Hangzhou, China, where he will join U.S. President Barack Obama, Chinese President Xi Jinping and other world leaders for the Group of 20 summit.

Trump Surging in Iowa and Virginia
[Breitbart] Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is surging in battleground states Iowa and Virginia in newly released polls, consistent with the national trend reported this week by Reuters-Ipsos and other major polling operations.

A handful of swing states--experts always mention at least five, and no more than eleven--will determine the winner of the presidential race, mainly concentrated in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Southwest.

Polling numbers from two of those states seem to fit a larger trend over the past two weeks of improving chances for Donald Trump to defeat Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

An Emerson poll in Iowa has Trump up five points over Clinton, 44-39, in a sample of 600 likely voters. This brought the RealClearPolitics average of recent polls in the Hawkeye State to a +1 advantage for Trump, for the first time since the candidates held their respective conventions in mid-July.

Emerson also polled in Virginia and found Clinton with only a one-point lead over Trump, in a sample of 800 likely voters. The resulting RealClearPolitics average of +7.7 for Clinton is a significant departure from recent polls showing her with a double-digit advantage in the Old Dominion, which she has enjoyed since picking Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine (who is also the state’s former governor) as her running mate.

The Iowa poll was conducted Aug. 31-Sept. 1 with a margin of error of 3.9 percent, and the Virginia poll was conducted Aug. 30-Sept. 1 with a margin of 3.4 percent. These were the first Emerson polls in those two battleground states in this election cycle.

Britain
From topless model to ISIS bride
[Jpost] An ex-British topless model has been suspected of contact with an Islamic State recruiter online, claiming she found "peace" through Islam.

An ex-page three topless model has been groomed online to become a bride for an Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
jihadist, according to British media.

The former Page 3 model, Kimberley Miners, who posed for the UK's Sun topless, has used Facebook to contact a British fighter in Syria under the pseudonym Aisha Lauren al-Britaniya.

Miners spoke to the Sunday Times and said her interest in Islam came last year and she found "peace" through Islam.

The newspaper alleges that Miners has pictures in a full veil or just with her blue eyes showing. Miners also said she has been abused when going out in Islamic dress in public.

The ex-model denied wanting to marry a jihadist but did admit to traveling to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
twice for a holiday.

Miners mentioned: "I've gone from glamour model to something completely different. But that again makes you wonder. You don't get s*** for wearing nowt [nothing] but the second you start wearing the veil you get accused of extremism."

The man who Miners is allegedly speaking with is Abu Osamah al-Britani, believed to be a recruiter for ISIS. al-Britani has had his Facebook account shut down frequently and shared his disabled Instagram account, commenting: "Why do they even bother blocking when i just return back again and again. Die in your rage kaafirs," according to the Daily Mail.

In 2013, Briton Sally Jones, a mother of two, converted to Islam and traveled to ISIS-controlled territory reportedly to marry a jihadi she met online.

#2  you need to put a temporary ban on Muslim migration just like Donald Trump wants to do, while you try to fix the problem of Islamist theocratic fascism within your borders.

Britain has some fixing to do, it threw away Enlightenment principles in favour of the Mahommedans.

If anyone hasn't read Tommy Robinson's book, Enemy of the State, please do so as it reveals the two-tier discriminatory policing system now applied.

Preferential policing for Islam.

Britain has some serious cultural issues to fix and they need to start with simple demographic numbers.

Reduce the growth of Muslims or you won't have a country left.

Three Egyptian policemen injured while attempting to defuse bomb in Damietta
[AlAhram] Three coppers were maimed on Sunday in Egypt's Damietta while attempting to defuse one of two bombs, the Ministry of Interior said.

The explosives were in a bag that was discarded by two suspects who fled when police attempted to stop them for "suspicious behaviour," according to a ministry statement.

Explosive specialists were able to defuse one of the devices before the second went kaboom!, injuring three of the coppers.

Over the past few years, improvised bombs have often been used by Islamist forces of Evil to target security forces.

While attacks have almost exclusively been focused in North Sinai, violence has also reached other areas of Egypt, including the capital. Hundreds of security forces as well as forces of Evil have been killed in the conflict.

#1  Dammit. Blow theee things in place. Get everybody out of the area and blow it. Busted windows are preferable to dead cops.
If possible, get a heavy steel cylinder open at both ends and lower it over the device. That will channel the blast and debris upwards. At one point there was a vehicle like a front-end loader which could do that. Not sure if they design was abandoned.

Six more positions were bombed in the region between the eastern Agri and Van provinces shortly after midnight, it said.

The air strikes capped one of the most violent single days of fighting in the largely Kurdish southeast in recent years. The military has said that more than 100 forces of Evil from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) were either killed or injured in festivities on Saturday.
First the stick, then the carrot:
PM: Turkey to invest $3.4 bln in rebuilding areas damaged in heavy fighting with Kurds

[Ynet] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
will invest 10 billion lira ($3.4 billion) in rebuilding areas in the largely Kurdish southeast that have been damaged by heavy fighting between bully boyz and the state, the Daily Sabah newspaper quoted the prime minister as saying on Sunday.

Turkey's southeast has been hit by waves of violence following the collapse of a 2-1/2-year ceasefire between the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) and the state last year.

The government has previously estimated some 6,000 buildings have been destroyed in security operations, and put the cost of replacing them at 1 billion lira ($345 million).

"We will renew our centres damaged by PKK terror, making schools, buildings, parks, (and) houses of worship," the newspaper quoted Binali Yildirim as saying in a speech in Diyarbakir, the region's largest city.

He said the government would invest in seven provincial centres, with a particular focus on Diyarbakir's historic Sur district. Sur's Roman-era walls are listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. However,
we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by...
the district sustained heavy damage in fighting this year, leading to concern it may be beyond repair.

Britain
It’s culture, not religion
[Dhaka Tribune] This was at least 15 years ago: An East London theatre was about to stage a drama about conflict in the community, especially the dilemma of Bangladeshi youngsters. Without even knowing what was in the plot, the whole community stood against it.

Somehow, a rumour was spread that Bangladeshi youngsters were involved in drugs, and a lot of abortions were undertaken among Bangladeshi teenage girls. A renowned Bangladeshi playwright wrote the play, and I was among the actors who were cast in it. I personally knew that no such hint about Bangladeshi youth was part of the script.

However,

#1  It's not culture, it's religion

It's Islamist theocratic fascism used as a political movement.

Our best hope is Mr Trump becomes president and bans all Muslim migration to the USA. That will stop the problem getting any larger within the US.

Then we can start trying to help allies such as Britain, Canada and Australia also target Islamist theocratic fascism.

After that, Europe.

G20 Summit: Barack Obama warns US-UK trade relations could unravel after Brexit
[INDEPENDENT.CO.UK] Barack Obama
Jedi mind meld...
has said the US and UK will have to do everything they can to make sure strong trade links do not start "unravelling" as a result of Brexit.

In a blow to Brexiteers' hopes of a quick trade deal with the US, he stood by his comment that the UK was now at the "back of the queue" for trade talks.
Until January, 2017. President Trump will move them to the front as one of his first acts of office...
Speaking at the G20 Summit alongside Theresa May, he said the US trade negotiations with the EU was his priority.

Mr Obama said: "We have a lot of investment, including British companies in the United States and US companies in the United Kingdon.

"That's not going to stop. We're going to do everything we can to make sure that the consequences of the [Brexit] decision don't end up unravelling what is already a very strong and robust economic relationship."

Mr Obama gave a warm welcome to Mrs May at her first big international summit, but the meeting was tainted by Mr Obama's intervention during the referendum campaign in which he said the UK would go to the "back of the queue" for trade talks.

When he made the intervention it was hailed by Remainers as proof of the damaging results of a potential vote to quit the EU, but it outraged Leave campaigners who accused him of unduly meddling in British politics.

#3  Our Kenyan master is the champion of statism and the collective. He has never succeeded at anything else. His loathing of the UK long predates Brexit and is on a par with his loathing of Israel. Remember, "you didn't make that." All success is the product of the collective as controlled by a strong central government.

Now once again, "get to the back of the line."

The quest for racial, egalitarian utopias always produces these types. Robert Mugabe and Jacob Zuma are but two contemporary examples. Like Obama, they share meme of colonial oppression and injustice. Before colonial oppression it was the theft of cattle and of wives by the tribe just over the hill. Blame must always be re-directed. Personal responsibility avoided.

Tribalism at it's root is the purist form of communism. The sooner Obama's failed legacy finds the rubbish bin of history the better.

And no, it doesn't "take a village!"

Bangladesh
Dhaka protests Pakistan reaction over Quasem’s execution
[Dhaka Tribune] "Pakistain is deeply saddened over the execution of the prominent leader of Jamaat-e-Islami
...The Islamic Society, founded in 1941 in Lahore by Maulana Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi, aka The Great Apostosizer. The Jamaat opposed the independence of Bangladesh but has operated an independent branch there since 1975. It maintains close ties with international Mohammedan groups such as the Moslem Brotherhood. the Taliban, and al-Qaeda. The Jamaat's objectives are the establishment of a pure Islamic state, governed by Sharia law. It is distinguished by its xenophobia, and its opposition to Westernization, capitalism, socialism, secularism, and liberalist social mores...
, Bangladesh, Mir Quasem Ali
...Jamaat-e-Islamic Central Committee member and Saudi money man in Bangla. Currently waiting to be hanged....
, for the alleged crimes committed before December 1971, through a flawed judicial process," reads the foreign office statement.

Bangladesh has protested Pakistain’s reaction over the execution of condemned 1971 war criminal Jamaat-e-Islami leader Mir Quasem Ali.

Additional Foreign Secretary for bilateral affairs Qamrul Ahsan summoned Pak envoy Samina Mehtab on Sunday and protested the Islamabad’s reaction, reports BSS.

"The opinion that Pakistain gave over the execution of Mir Quasem Ali was entirely tantamount to interference in Bangladesh’s internal affairs," Ahsan told journalists after the envoy left the foreign office.

"We have told the envoy that Quasem had scopes to appeal against the judgment and he exhausted the scopes. The apex court thought he deserved the punishment what he was handed down as he took part in the genocides in 1971," the additional foreign secretary said.

He said Dhaka told Islamabad that Quasem’s trial "took place in a very transparent manner in front of everybody".

Mehtab was escorted to the additional foreign secretary’s chamber at 3:15pm and came out at 3:35pm.

"Nothing much to say," the envoy told the journalists while they were seeking her comments over the issue.

Mir Quasem Ali was hanged on Saturday night for committing crimes against humanity during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971.

In a statement released into six hours of Jamaat leader’s execution, the External Affairs Ministry of Pakistain condemned the execution.

"Pakistain is deeply saddened over the execution of the prominent leader of Jamaat-e-Islami, Bangladesh, Mir Quasem Ali, for the alleged crimes committed before December 1971, through a flawed judicial process," reads the foreign office statement.

It offered the deepest condolences to the bereaved family.

The statement also said: "The act of suppressing the Opposition, through flawed trials, is completely against the spirit of democracy. Ever since the beginning of the trials, several international organizations, human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
groups, and international legal figures have raised objections to the court proceedings, especially regarding fairness and transparency, as well as harassment of lawyers and witnesses representing the accused.

#1  Pakistan is "deeply saddened" for the 3 million dead and murdered civilians in just 8 months that the likes of Quaseem put down. ( work, work, work, busy, busy, busy).

And then the whole country and 93,000 brave and heroic Pak soldiers went in the bag in just 13 days. The Paks fell all over themselves in their hurry to piss their pants and surrender.

Its not much of war when Paks ( in the mighty Pak Army ) actually have to fight armed men. They do ever so much better when they are shooting civilians or burning down a girl's school. Of the 13 day War after the Indian Army went on a tour of Bangla Desh...the Paks fought for about 12 hours of the 13 days and the rest of them was spent running away.

Dr. Drew loses show after discussing Hillary’s health
[PAGESIX] Dr. Drew Pinsky is so afraid of Hillary Clinton

"No, no, no. I just want them to go away!" he told one friend.

"Dr. Drew" was canceled eight days after Pinsky discussed Clinton’s health on a radio show, saying he was "gravely concerned not just about her health, but her health care."

"CNN is so supportive of Clinton, network honchos acted like the Mafia when confronting Drew," a source told me. "First, they demanded he retract his comments, but he wouldn’t."

What followed was a series of nasty phone calls and e-mails. "It was downright scary and creepy," a source close to Pinsky said.

Libya forces facing ‘fierce’ ISIS resistance in Sirte
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Libyan pro-government forces are facing "fierce resistance" from ISIS holdouts in Sirte and it could take several days to gain full control of the city, a front man said Sunday.

Forces loyal to Libya’s Government of National Accord (GNA) launched a new attack on Saturday against ISIS in Sirte, the coastal city seized by the jihadists last year.

Backed by weeks of US air strikes, pro-GNA fighters have recaptured nearly all of what had been the jihadists’ main stronghold in North Africa.

ISIS fighters are now cornered in a last district of the city but Reda Issa, a front man for loyalist forces, said it was proving difficult to dislodge them.

"IS (ISIS) is putting up fierce resistance in their last neighborhoods," Issa told AFP. "They are trying to make the battle last longer although they know it will be over soon."

At least 10 pro-GNA fighters were killed and 60 maimed in Saturday’s offensive, with most of the deaths caused by boom-mobiles and suicide kabooms, Issa said.

Fighting had eased on Sunday, he said, as pro-government forces sought ways "to minimize the casualties caused by ISIS suicide attacks the next time there will be an offensive".

"We hope to liberate Sirte before Eid," Issa said, referring to the Eid al-Adha Moslem holiday, which is due around Sept. 12.

The forces loyal to the UN-backed GNA had said they were preparing to "liberate" the entire city after seizing several ISIS positions, including its headquarters, last month.

The city’s fall would be a huge setback to ISIS’ efforts to expand its self-proclaimed "caliphate" beyond Syria and Iraq where the jihadists have also suffered losses.

The capture of Sirte by ISIS sparked fears the jihadists would use the city as a springboard for attacks on Europe.

IS remains deadly in its Sirte death throes

[Libya Herald] The outcome of the battle for Sirte is not in doubt but IS is proving no less deadly in its death throws. Ten Bunyan Marsous fighters died today in a renewed assault on the terrorists’ remaining positions. At least 30, one report puts the figure as high as 70, other fighters were maimed.

The bully boyz are still resorting to the much-feared boom-mobiles but one attempt today was blown up by ground fire before it could reach its target. Snipers and booby traps continue to reap a grim harvest of dead and injured. Among the slain today was the oldest fighter in the BM ranks, Ali Edaib, aged 80.

The corpse count among the largely Misratan attackers is now approaching 500.

The fighting today was in the town’s Number One district with some mopping up in the Third district. Both are largely residential.

The BM media office said that the bodies of ten bully boyz had been found in a school. It is not clear how they were killed.

In what must be a disturbing development for BM commanders, last night a roadside IED on the highway between Misrata and Sirte, destroyed a passing BM vehicle and killed two of the occupants.

Honestly stating the enemy as Islamist theocratic fascism, banning muslim migration, and prosecuting or deporting those who preach, promote and practice sharia is what will win it.

How Spy Tech Firms Let Governments See Everything on a Smartphone
[NYT] SAN FRANCISCO -- Want to invisibly spy on 10 iPhone owners without their knowledge? Gather their every keystroke, sound, message and location? That will cost you $650,000, plus a $500,000 setup fee with an Israeli outfit called the NSO Group. You can spy on more people if you would like -- just check out the company’s price list.

The NSO Group is one of a number of companies that sell surveillance tools that can capture all the activity on a smartphone, like a user’s location and personal contacts. These tools can even turn the phone into a secret recording device.

Since its founding six years ago, the NSO Group has kept a low profile. But last month, security researchers caught its spyware trying to gain access to the iPhone of a human rights activist in the United Arab Emirates. They also discovered a second target, a Mexican journalist who wrote about corruption in the Mexican government.

Now, internal NSO Group emails, contracts and commercial proposals obtained by The New York Times offer insight into how companies in this secretive digital surveillance industry operate. The emails and documents were provided by two people who have had dealings with the NSO Group but would not be named for fear of reprisals.

The company is one of dozens of digital spying outfits that track everything a target does on a smartphone. They aggressively market their services to governments and law enforcement agencies around the world. The industry argues that this spying is necessary to track terrorists, kidnappers and drug lords. The NSO Group’s corporate mission statement is "Make the world a safe place."

Ten people familiar with the company’s sales, who refused to be identified, said that the NSO Group has a strict internal vetting process to determine who it will sell to. An ethics committee made up of employees and external counsel vets potential customers based on human rights rankings set by the World Bank and other global bodies. And to date, these people all said, NSO has yet to be denied an export license.

‘Sabah ready to face fleeing Abu Sayyaf terrorists’
[GLOBALNATION.INQUIRER.NET] Sabah is prepared to face the possibility of people from the southern region or the hunted Abu Sayyaf
...also known as al-Harakat al-Islamiyya, an Islamist terror group based in Jolo, Basilan and Zamboanga. Since its inception in the early 1990s, the group has carried out bombings, kidnappings, murders, head choppings, and extortion in their uniquely Islamic attempt to set up an independent Moslem province in the Philippines. Abu Sayyaf forces probably number less than 300 cadres. The group is closely allied with remnants of Indonesia's Jemaah Islamiya and has loose ties with MILF and MNLF who sometimes provide cannon fodder...
members fleeing to Sabah.

The Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) is bracing itself for fleeing Abu Sayyaf faceless myrmidons into the state in view of the all-out war declared against them by Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte.

Esscom commander DCP Datuk Wan Abdul Bari Abdul Khalid said the state was prepared to face the possibility of the people from the southern region or the hunted Abu Sayyaf members fleeing to Sabah.

He said some of them had already entered the state and have family ties with the local communities in Sabah.

"We are keeping close watch and will take necessary action in due course," Wan Abdul Bari said.

Welcoming the action taken by the Philippines government against the Abu Sayyaf, he said Esscom was doing all it could to monitor the situation and keep tabs on the latest developments while conducting daily surveillance on the national waters.

He said the Esscom had daily operations on land and sea in the Eastern Sabah Security Zone (Esszone) to ensure that the state stayed safe from any possible threats.

Wan Abdul Bari added that Esscom personnel and assets had been directed to monitor any suspicious movements such as smuggling or possible cross border attacks.

Esszone covers an area of 1,733.7km long and 100, 000 sq km comprising 10 districts namely Kudat, Kota Marudu, Pitas, Beluran, Kinabatangan, Sandakan, Lahad Datu, Kunak, Semporna and Tawau.

On Saturday, Duterte declared a nationwide "state of lawlessness" following a deadly kaboom at an open-air market in southern Davao City that killed at least 14 people and injured 67 during a presidential visit to his hometown.

Hekmatyar’s party close to final declaration on peace deal with govt: Sources
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] Sources close to Hezb-e-Islami led by Gulbuddin Hekmatyar
... who used to be known in intelligence circles as The Most Evil Man in the World but who now seems merely run-of-the-mill evil...
have said the party is close to a final declaration on peace deal with the Afghan government.

The sources have told RFE that the negotiations regarding the peace deal have concluded and preparations are underway for a final declaration.

A front man for the High Peace Council of Afghanistan Mohammad Amin Muzafari has also said they expect to conclude the peace deal with Hezb-e-Islami.

He said a peace agreement containing 25 articles has been prepared with the mediation of High Peace Council.

This comes reports emerged earlier suggesting that the party has issued new impossible-to-meet demands to sign a peace agreement with the Afghan government.

According to the reports, the new demands included cancellation of pacts with the United States, a timetable for the withdrawal of foreign troops and that it be signed by a new government.

The new demands were made as Hekmatyar had earier said he has changed his conditions for grinding of the peace processor with the Afghan government by stepping back from his demands for the complete withdrawal of foreign forces.

Hekmatyar was originally demanding the complete withdrawal of the foreign forces from Afghanistan before officials talks begun between his party and the Afghan government.

[DAWN] The former women's minister of the Indian capital, who was sacked over a "sex tape", has now been tossed in the clink
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
following a claim by a woman shown in the tape that he raped her, an investigator said Sunday.

Sandeep Kumar was arrested on Saturday, days after he was dismissed as women's and children's minister of the region covering Delhi following the video leak to television channels which showed him kissing two women.

"He was arrested on a complaint filed by one of the woman seen in the video. She has alleged Kumar raped her. The investigations have just started," Vikramjit Singh, deputy police commissioner of Delhi, told AFP.

The married woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said in her complaint to police that Kumar spiked her drink with sedatives before sexually assaulting her last year at his residence, the officer said.

Uganda says will rescue Soldier from Shaboobs
Thursday marked one year since al-Shabaab insurgents launched a deadly attack on the Ugandan military base in Somalia, killing 19 soldiers.

One soldier was captured and later paraded in a video released by the insurgents as a prisoner of war two months later. Speaking in Swahili and handcuffed, the soldier said in the video that al-Shabaab was “treating him well”.

It’s not clear whether the soldier is still alive but the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) spokesperson, Lt Col Paddy Ankunda, said they were hopeful one day he will be rescued.

Three days after the attack, President Museveni told the Japanese media that six soldiers were missing in action but Lt Col Ankunda on Thursday said five had been accounted for.

In an interview last week, the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Katumba Wamala, said the attackers took advantage of a mistake made by the commanders.

“The commanders made a mistake to deploy a small force to guard a base that had been occupied by a bigger force,” said Gen Wamala. He said it has become a pattern for al-shabaab to attack UPDF positions occupied by forces that have just been deployed or those that are about to return home.

A committee of inquiry chaired Brig Jack Bakasumba found out that the commanders didn’t handle the operational requirements well. The inquiry also found that the Janaale UPDF defensive position manned by 200 troops was overwhelmed by the al-Shabaab attackers who were estimated to be between 350 and 500.

The committee of inquiry, which travelled to Somalia and Kenya, interviewed commanders and soldiers and inspected defence sites in Somalia. The report says the attack could have been avoided if commanders at all levels had read the “clear warning signals and made the necessary tactical adjustments”.

After the attack, President Museveni ordered the suspension and arrest of Col Bosco Mutambi and three others who are now on trial over the attack. Lt Col Mutambi was the Commander of Battle Group 16 that occupied Janaale. He was demoted to lieutenant colonel.

Turkish troops attack protesters in Kobane, killing 2
[ARA News] KOBANE – At least two civilians were killed and 97 more were injured after Turkey started to shoot gas grenades and bullets against Syrian Kurdish protestors near Kobane that resisted Turkish attempts to build a barrier wall on the border.

People of Kobane on Sunday buried those killed by Turkish fire, amid condemnation to Turkey’s intervention in Syria and their attempt to build a barrier wall on the borderline.

Bazan Ehmed (17) and Ehmed Hesen (16), two victims of the Turkish security forces, were buried in Kobane where hundreds of people gathered to show support to their families.

In the meantime, protests continued on Sunday, but no civilians were injured.

Turkey says the aim of the wall is to secure the Turkish border after terrorist attacks hit Turkey, but Kurds reject this as an excuse to create obstacles for the Kurds to create an autonomous region in Syria.

“The protestors say the building of the wall is illegal, as Turkey is occupying our land and building it inside Kobane territories,” Idris Nassan, a former senior Kurdish official in the Kobane administration, told ARA News. “We resisted ISIS and lost thousands of our youth, and our houses were destroyed, but we didn’t give up.”

“Turkey doesn’t have any right to control Kobane, which is the capital of resistance. They are trying to put an embargo on Kobane, and cut the life items for the people,” Nassan said.

“Turkey aims to create obstacles for the declaration of the northern Syria federal system, so at the one hand Turkey invades Jarablus and the Shahba [Aleppo] region, and on the other hand invades Kobane lands,” he said.

Speaking to ARA News, Amkihan Muhammad, member of the Kurdish Red Crescent in Kobane, said that dozens of people have been injured since the anti-Turkey protests started in Kobane last week.

Due to the attacks by the Turkish army forces, there have been dozens of civilian casualties, most of them suffered suffocation due to the teargas fired by Turkey,” she said. “So far two people lost their lives, while several others suffered from serious injuries and are now in critical condition.”

The protesters, who have been organising sit-ins for nearly one week, condemned the Turkish project of building a barrier wall on the border between Rojava and Turkey’s Kurdish region.

Sherman Muslim, Deputy Chief of Social Affairs in Rojava Administration, told ARA News: “The Turkish authorities tried to separate the protesters by repeatedly firing teargas. The Turkish forces have entered the Kobane territory in order to build their barrier wall. However, our people are resisting this racist project by all possible means.”

“The protesters have forced the Turkish troops to withdraw towards their positions behind the borderline at the moment. The young protesters proved their revolutionary spirit by continuing to organise sit-ins on the border,” he said.

Three security personnel die in Peshawar and Mohmand
PESHAWAR: Three security personnel were killed in two separate incidents on Sunday in Peshawar and Mohmand agency.

In the first incident, a police official was killed when a police van was attacked. The police vehicle was assigned to Mathra police station.

"Police van of Mathra police station of Peshawar came under attack in Pajagi road area," said a police official.

"The police mobile was on regular patrolling when it was attacked," said Abbas Majid Marwat, SSP Operations Peshawar.

The police official was later identified as Naveed.

A passerby was also injured in the attack, and was later shifted to Lady Reading Hospital.

In a separate incident, two security officials were killed in Mohmand agency.

A Khasadar force official and a Bomb Disposal Unit official were killed in landmine blast in Safi tehsil of Mohmand agency.

15 Yemen soldiers killed in rebel attacks
ADEN: At least 15 pro-government Yemeni soldiers were killed in rebel attacks in the north and in a suspected jihadist bombing in Aden on Sunday, military and security sources said.

Shiite Houthi rebels and their allies launched twin attacks to try to retake the port of Midi in the northern province of Haja, after loyalists had captured it, military sources said.

“Eleven soldiers were killed in the attacks and 28 others were wounded,” a military official said.

Meanwhile, Saudi-led coalition warplanes carried out 15 air strikes against the Iran-backed rebels to stop their advance in the area, military sources said.

Other air strikes hit rebel positions in the insurgent-controlled capital Sanaa and other provinces over the past 24 hours, they added.

The sources spoke of rebel casualties but AFP could not verify this as the Houthis and their allies rarely acknowledge their losses.
The coalition began its war on the Iran-backed rebels in March 2015.

It intensified operations since the suspension in early August of UN-brokered peace talks between the rebels and their allies and Yemen’s government.

Also on Sunday, in Yemen’s main southern city of Aden, a roadside bomb killed four soldiers and wounded one at a checkpoint in the Sheikh Othman district, a security official said.

He said jihadists, who have boosted their attacks in government-controlled Aden over the past few months despite efforts to increase security, are suspected of being behind the bombing.

Earlier, the official had given a toll of two soldiers killed and three wounded but said that two later succumbed to their injuries.

More than 6,600 people have been killed in the Yemeni conflict since March 2015, the UN says.

Jund Al-Aqsa suffers insurmountable losses in northern Hama
[ALMASDARNEWS] Jund al-Aqsa (Al-Qaeda franchise), backed by Faylaq al-Sham and the Free Syrian Army
... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund...
(FSA), launched another attack in the northern Hama countryside on Sunday, targeting the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) controlled town of Kawkab near Qamhana.

The jihadist rebels began the assault by capturing the checkpoints outside of Kawkab, leaving them within striking distance of the town’s western flank.

Following the capture of these checkpoints, the jihadist rebels stormed Kawkab’s western flank, resulting in a series of fierce festivities with the Syrian Arab Army’s 11th Tank Division and Iranian paramilitary fighters.

However,
a good lie finds more believers than a bad truth...
Jund al-Aqsa and their allies were unable to penetrate the government defenses after several attempts to enter Kawkab; this forced them to withdraw from the town’s western outskirts.

According to a government source in Hama, the Syrian Arab Army’s 11th Tank Division seized 4 Jund al-Aqsa tanks, 2 BMPs, and 5 mounted machine guns.

In addition to the seizure of these armored vehicles, the Syrian Arab Army also destroyed 3 tanks and 2 BMPs, while also killing over 30 jihadists on the battlefield.

The northern Hama front is now quiet after several hours of nonstop fighting between the government and jihadist forces.

Iraq
Kurdistan receives $22.2m from US for Peshmerga salaries
[RUDAW.NET] The Kurdistan Region has received $22.2 million in financial assistance for the Peshmerga and will go to paying soldiers’ salaries, a Kurdish official said.

"The first batch of US financial assistance for the Peshmerga forces has been received and deposited at the Kurdistan International Bank," Jamal Mohammed, the Peshmerga chief of Staff, told Rudaw.

He disclosed that the sum totaled $22.2 million and that "the money will soon be distributed among the Peshmerga."

Mohammed explained that the funds were part of an agreement signed between Erbil and Washington "for the Peshmerga in its fight against the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS)."

He went on to explain that the sum will be distributed "over 14 Peshmerga brigades, four military training bases and five Peshmerga ministry battalions."

In earlier comments to Rudaw, Peshmerga Ministry Chief of Staff Jabar Yawar said that, "according to the KRG-US memorandum, the salaries of part of the Peshmerga fighting on the frontlines will be given by the US, and the other half the Peshmerga ministry will provide."

The July 12 agreement between Washington and Erbil pledges $415 million in US funds to go towards Peshmerga salaries.

The memorandum also requires the Kurdish Peshmerga to assist Iraqi forces in the battle for djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
and allow passage of Iraqi troops through Kurdish territories. It also states that Kurdish forces are expected to withdraw from areas liberated during the offensive.

Some Iraqi officials and MPs have criticized Erbil for signing the memorandum without informing Iraq’s central government, despite a statement from Iraq’s defense ministry last week confirming that the deal was signed with Baghdad’s consent.

The Germans were providing some assistance; however, to get US support the Kurds had to agree to the creation of a major CIA/Military outpost north of Irbil. Hopefully a tell-all book will soon be written about how we have mistakenly cozied-up to the Turks and how miserably we have treated the Kurds.

The Grand Turk
Obama Tells Turkey U.S. Will Help Bring Coup Plotters to Justice
[LI] In July, the Turkish military attempted a coup to take out President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s regime. They failed, which led to a crackdown by the government and a purge of anyone the government felt had ties to scholar Fetullah Gulen, who they feel devised the coup. Erodgan has railed against the West for not standing with its NATO ally, but that all changed this weekend.

President Barack Obama met with Erdogan and promised the U.S. will help bring the coup plotters to justice.
Someone please explain to me what Obama knows about justice ?
Obama, speaking at the G20 summit in China, praised the Turkish people who resisted the coup attempt, saying they "affirmed their commitment to democracy" and that they are "the strength and brilliance of democratic institutions."

Obama also said he was glad that Erdogan was safe and able to participate in the economic summit, in what appeared to be a better exchange than the one Erdogan had recently had with Vice President Biden regarding the extradition of controversial cleric Fethullah Gulen, who lives in Pennsylvania.

In a vague reference to Gulen, Obama said the Justice Department and U.S. national security teams "will cooperate with Turkish authorities to determine how we can make sure that those who carried out these activities are brought to justice."

The Turkish government has told the U.S. government in the past that keeping Gulen from Turkey is a "hostile act." Gulen lives in Pennsylvania after he imposed a self-exile in 1999 to escape the regime before Erdogan came to power. But the U.S. said it would only extradite Gulen once the Turkish authorities provide proof that he had direct involvement with the coup.

Erdogan said the government is currently gathering all the evidence "indicating Gulen orchestrated the plot from afar."

Former Istanbul police chief jailed in post-coup sweep

[Ynet] Turkey's state-run news agency says a former Istanbul police chief has been sent to jail as part of the probe into the movement allegedly behind an abortive military coup. Anadolu said Sunday former police chief Huseyin Capkin and three other top city officials have been detained for their suspected links with the movement led by US-based Islamic cleric Fethullah Gulen.

His speech, delivered before a crowd of thousands on Wednesday August 31 marking the disappearance of one of Amal’s founders Imam Musa Al Sadr and his lover companions in Libya 38 years ago, included the obligatory muscle-flexing against Israel and was so one-sided it could almost have been penned by Hezbollah’s Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah.

#1  A happy system of government for Lebanon is hard to envision. The only sensible one I can think of is return to the old Millet system. Each religious or ethnic group rules itself as it pleases. The central government only deals with matters and difficulties between members of different groups.
This worked under the Ottomans for centuries, because they (Janissaries) were outsiders not biased toward any side, and they were horribly brutal, so nobody ever wanted to have to deal with them. The same system lasted a thousand years in Egypt, under the Mamluks, until the French overthrew them.

Syrian opposition seeks transitional govt body
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The Syrian opposition has prepared itself to participate at a meeting of foreign ministers on Syria which will be held Wednesday in London after the High Negotiations Committee finished its meetings which lasted for two days in the Saudi capital.

The committee agreed on the executive framework for a political solution and confirmed that the latter is the first strategic option for the Syrian opposition.

According to the committee’s statement, the political solution must harmonize with international decisions and the Geneva I conference decisions.

The committee added that the solution will be implemented via establishing a transitional governing body with complete executive jurisdictions in which Bashir al-Assad has no presence or role.

It also said that it’s working with the United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
to establish executive framework for international decisions to mitigate the suffering of the Syrian people.

The committee accused the Assad regime of using internationally prohibited weapons such as the naplam, phosphorus and cluster bombs, in addition to using chemical weapons. It also accused it of attempting to change the demographics of the country through forced displacement.

The committee called on the UN to bear its responsibility towards the crimes which the Assad regime is committing ‐ crimes which it doesn’t seem will end soon amid the series of ongoing battles as dozens of countries directly manage or support them or participate in them.

Sadr called on the workers to remain on strike for at least two days, in a bid to force Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi’s government to hasten grassroots reforms, including action against widespread official corruption.

Sadr’s directive includes a campaign to collect millions of signature before the Eid holidays for an anti-corruption drive.

"We are from the oil distribution board and we are on strike now," said an oil company worker. "We disagree with the actions of politicians and reject sectarian corruption. We side with the plight of the people and their pains.

What we are working for now is to fight corruption."

Sadr called on both Shiites, Sunnis and Iraqis of other faiths to his call for a strike.

Now to call my girlfriend and let her know I've got the beer--Wait, where is it?
Gabriel Gelpi Rodriguez, 25, was given connected bracelets Wednesday on multiple theft charges, Miami Police said. He was being held on more than $12,000 bond Friday, and it's unknown if he's hired an attorney.

According to Miami Police arrest reports, Rodriguez walked out of a Publix grocery store at 911 Southwest 1st Avenue Tuesday with several boxes of Corona beer in a shopping cart but paid a grand total of $0.00 for it.

He was followed by a store's general manager, who confronted him. Rodriguez made tracks but dropped his cell phone, which was recovered by the manager, the reports said.

Later that night, Rodriguez was able to steal beer from the Winn-Dixie at 1525 Coral Way, the reports said. He was checked in at the Gray-Bar Hotel after information on the phone led police to his home, the reports said.
"Where is it!?"
"Police!"
"****!"

Police said the Broward Sheriff's Office is looking at Rodriguez as a possible suspect in similar cases in Broward, including an incident of larceny at a Weston Publix last month.

ISIS warns 100s of jihadis have snuck into Schengen to attack Europe & UK
[EXPRESS.CO.UK] ISIS supporters have gloated about sleeper cells nestled in Europe which are poised to carry out horror attacks on innocent civilians.

ISIS supporters have said the terror group has sleeper cells all across Europe. And most frighteningly of all - terror experts have backed up the chilling claims.

During the migrant crisis it was feared jihadists could sneak through the European Union

’s mostly non-existent borders as thousands arrived into the continent daily from war-torn nations.

This included in July, Mohammad Daleel, a 27-year-old failed asylum seeker, who went kaboom! outside a party in Ansbach, Germany.

ISIS later said he was a "soldier of the Caliphate".

There was doubt around the claims as the man was said to have mental health issues and had previously attempted suicide.

But now Express.co.uk has seen online material from ISIS supporters, claiming sleeper cells are waiting to attack.

One ISIS supporter boasted over Telegram app about upcoming attacks which he claimed would be as deadly as those in Nice and Gay Paree.

He said: "There are many cells being set up.

"That Islam will bring fear upon their land and each home.

"And many more attacks are carded.

"And on the way in many forms and fashions.

Five things to know about the Abu Sayyaf Group
[GMANETWORK] Some Philippine officials on Saturday said the Abu Sayyaf
...also known as al-Harakat al-Islamiyya, an Islamist terror group based in Jolo, Basilan and Zamboanga.
Group (ASG), the Islamic Lion of Islam group notorious for kidnapping both Filipinos and foreigners, was allegedly responsible for a deadly night market bombing in Davao City that killed at least 14 people.

Interior and Local Government Secretary Ismael Sueno on Saturday alerted "all concerned units to be on the lookout for possible diversionary tactics to be carried out" by the ASG after the group allegedly grabbed credit for the attack in Davao City, hometown of President Rodrigo Duterte.

However,
nothing needs reforming like other people's bad habits...
the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), also on Saturday, declined to confirm that the ASG was responsible for the kaboom in Davao City.

"That act of owning the kaboom is something we expect the ASG to claim," AFP public affairs office chief, Marine Col. Edgard Arevalo, said in a statement.

Iranian Officials Meet with Hamas, Agree to Face ‘Zionist Danger’ Together
[THETOWER.ORG] After representatives from Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, and the Iranian government met in Beirut on Friday, the two parties promised to work together to unite the Moslem world to face the "Zionist danger" together, Ma’an News reported.

Ali Baraka, the Hamas representative in Leb, was received at the Iranian embassy in Beirut by the embassy’s head consul, Mohammad Majedi. Baraka emphasized the need to strengthen ties "in order to support Paleostinian resistance," Ma’an reported. Majedi stated his agreement, and reiterated his country’s support.

The meeting came after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) stated its support for Hamas in July, praising the terror group for its "humiliating defeat" of Israel in recent conflicts. The IRGC said that Hamas was "at the forefront of the Paleostinian nation’s anti-Zionism resistance and fight."

Syrian troops recapture parts of Aleppo, severing supply line
[BBC] Syrian government forces have recaptured parts of Aleppo city which were lost to rebels last month, placing rebel-held districts in the city's east once again under siege, monitors said.

Reports said government troops had recaptured two military academy sites in the south of the city and severed a recently-established rebel supply line.

The government offensive was backed by Syrian and Russian air strikes.

There are about 250,000 civilians living in the city's rebel-held areas.

UK-based monitoring group the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed that government troops had retaken the Armaments Academy and Air Force Technical College.

"The army took control of the artillery academy, so they control all the academies, and the eastern neighbourhoods are under a full siege," said Rami Abdel Rahman, director of the Observatory.

Syrian state media also reported on the advance and recapture of the military academies.

Taliban Warns India Over Military Aid to Kabul
[VOA News] The Taliban is urging India to stop giving lethal military equipment to the Afghan government, condemning it as a "clear hostility" towards the war-torn nation.

In its first public reaction to New Delhi’s growing military cooperation with Kabul

, the Islamist insurgency alleged Indian aircraft and equipment are being used to kill Afghans and destroy their homes as well as other civilian infrastructure.

"The Islamic Emirate [the Taliban] condemns this action with the strongest of terms," said Zabihullah Mujahid, the main front man for the Taliban, in a statement issued Sunday.

Attack helicopters provided

India recently transferred four Russian-made Mi-25 attack helicopters to boost the Afghan Air Force’s ability to assist ground troops fighting Taliban myrmidons, and it trains hundreds of Afghan soldiers each year in its military academy.

"We call on India to stop exporting items of killing and destruction to Afghanistan and to stop efforts of prolonging the lifespan of this corrupt regime with its military aid," Mujahid added.

He accused Afghan forces of using Indian attack helicopters to destroy a key bridge during recent fighting in the volatile northern Kunduz province.

Merkel's CDU 'suffers Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania poll blow'
[BBC] Angela Merkel
...current chancellor of Germany. She was educated in East Germany when is was still run by commies, but in 1989 got involved with the growing democracy movement when the Berlin Wall fell. Merkel is sometimes referred to by Germans as Mom, more often now referred to as "Spitzbube" (villain) or Dummkopf" (dumbass), take your pick...
's ruling CDU party has been beaten into third place by an anti-immigrant and anti-Islam party in elections in a north-eastern German state, TV exit polls suggest.

The Alternative fuer Deutschland (AfD) party took 21.4% of the vote behind the centre-left SPD's 30.2%.

The German chancellor's CDU was supported by only 19.8% of those who voted, according to the exit polls.

The vote was seen as a key test before German parliamentary elections in 2017.

Before the vote in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, all of Germany's other parties ruled out forming a governing coalition with the AfD.

However,
alcohol has never solved anybody's problems. But then, neither has milk...
the party's strong showing could weaken Mrs Merkel ahead of the national elections next year.

Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, in the former East Germany, is where the chancellor's own constituency is located.

IDF Fires Back at Hamas Position
[JEWISHPRESS] Just before midnight after Shabbat, IDF troops running standard operations alongside the Gazoo border near Netiv Ha’asara came under fire from within Gazoo.

No one was injured in the attack, but bullet holes were found in the ground next to the troops.

The IDF then fired at a Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, position, according to the IDF spokesperson.

The IDF did not clarify if it used artillery or tank fire against the Hamas target.
The Times of Israel adds:
Three Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, fighters were reported maimed after the IDF responded with a volley of shells targeting a Hamas post, according to initial Paleostinian reports.

Hilary Clinton's Mind-Boggling FBI Interview – What Was Cheryl Mills Doing There?
As David and Rich have already noted, the FBI-302 report of the interview of Hillary Clinton, along with the other notes of investigation released today, make for mind boggling reading. Most bracing is the fact that Mrs. Clinton had her server wiped clean sometime between March 25 and 31, 2015, only three weeks after the New York Times on March 3 broke the story of the server system's existence. David notes that, at the same time the Democrats" Janus-faced presidential nominee was outwardly taking the position that she "want[ed] the public to see my email," she was having her minions frantically purge her emails behind the scenes.

I'd add that this was five months before she feigned ignorance when Fox News's Ed Henry pressed her on whether she'd "tried to wipe the entire server ... so there could be no email, no personal, no official." Henry finally asked, "Did you wipe the server?" Famously, Clinton scoffed, "Like with a cloth or something?" But we now know, as the FBI notes recount, she had the server purged with a sophisticated software program, BleachBit, which eventually made it extraordinarily difficult for the FBI to recover her emails, several thousand of which were successfully destroyed.

Md Abdus Sabur alias Raju alias Saad alias Salman alias Samad alias Sujon from Tongi Railway Station area on Saturday night.

From a press briefing held yesterday, chief of Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit Monirul Islam said that they had arrested Raju based on information given by two Ansarullah leaders, arrested earlier in connection with the attacks.

Hailing from Nangolkot of Comilla, Sabur, 23, was a student of Jatrabari Faridabad Madrasa, Monirul said. He was a member of the group’s military wing.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police declared Tk2 lakh bounty on Raju, who is believed to be one of the four military wing commanders of Ansarullah ‐ responsible for carrying out machete and gun attacks on a dozen of war crimes trial campaigners, secularists and rights campaigners since 2013.

The government banned Ansarullah on May 23 last year. The outfit is believed to be representing al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) under the name of Ansar al-Islam.

Earlier, detectives arrested Ansarullah leaders Sumon Hossain Patwari on June 15 and Moinul Hasan Shamim on August 23. Both of them involved in the two attacks conducted on October 31 last year.

On that day, Dipan was hacked to death at his Jagriti Prokashoni office at Aziz Super Market of Shahbagh. Another team of Death Eaters attacked Shuddhashar publisher Tutul at his Lalmatia office. Two writers ‐ Ranadipam Basu and Tareq Rahim ‐ who were at his office at that time were also injured in the attack.

Taliban-led insurgency has been rampant since the group announced its spring offensive earlier in April this year.

The group has managed to carry out major attacks in key cities of the country since their spring offensive begun, including large attacks in Kabul city.

However the group has not managed to scale any large attack in the capital following a major attack on the American University late last month which claimed the lives of at least 13 people.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Al Qaeda Is Gaining Strength in Syria
[FOREIGNPOLICY] The struggle for Aleppo poses an awful threat for the United States. The ongoing battle for what was once Syria’s second-largest city has united two of the most prominent opposition coalitions. Their goal is to defeat Bashir al-Assad’s regime. But there’s one more thing they have in common -- neither has ever received significant help from Washington in their joint effort to break a nearly month-long siege of opposition-controlled areas of the city and conquer the rest of it.

The groups that have been trying to protect civilians in Aleppo from the siege tactics and indiscriminate attacks of the Assad regime and its Russian and Iranian allies may succeed nonetheless. But Washington’s inaction may inadvertently be paving the way for Syria’s next Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
That’s because al Qaeda has filled the breach left by the absence of the United States. Al Qaeda is resurgent globally, exploiting American blind spots, and building a popular local vanguard to oversee the transformation of local populations in countries where the state has collapsed. Syria is its current focus. The United States now has little choice but to reorient its strategy in Syria to focus on the threat posed by al Qaeda.

Al Qaeda’s presence and influence in Syria was never confined to its formal affiliate, the Nusra Front. It dispatched numerous big shots and strategists to oversee the creation of a vanguard for al Qaeda within the Syrian revolutionary movement after the start of the civil war in 2011. These operatives, which the U.S. government calls the "Khorasan group," not only advised the Nusra Front’s top leadership, but also leaders of other Syrian opposition groups. Al Qaeda’s intent was to cultivate a series of rebel groups sympathetic to its aims while building a formal affiliate to normalize and diffuse its ideology. Al Qaeda probably also intended to establish a buffer against the possibility that an American intervention could destroy al Qaeda’s entire network by eliminating one organization.

Turkish warplanes carried out air strikes on Friday on ISIS sites over a 90-Km area near the Turkish borders. Ankara said that it is clearing the area of any armed militias and the invasion of armed Kurdish forces.

Turkish Army leadership issued a statement saying that its missiles had targeted 12 different locations in Jarablus. The statement added that nine terrorist sites had been directly targeted. In addition, Turkish bombers destroyed three ISIS buildings in Ghandoura and Arab Azza.

The statement also declared that the Syrian armed, backed by U.S-led coalition, had liberated Ghandoura completely.

At the same time, Turkish army continued building a 3.6-meter-high concrete wall along the border with Syria in order to maintain security and prevent any infiltration from Syria.

Turkish Armed Forces units are erecting the modular 4-km walls along the Turkish-Syrian borderline between Suruc, Sanliurfa and Karkamis, and Gaziantep.

Reports said that the wall will help enhance border security with barbed wire, watchtowers, and security cameras.

Mother Teresa honored as saint
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Tens of thousands of pilgrims - rich and poor, powerful and homeless - filled St. Peter’s Square on Sunday for the canonization of Mother Teresa, the tiny nun who cared for the world’s most destitute and became an icon of a Catholic Church that goes to the peripheries to find lost souls.

Pope Francis is declaring Mother Teresa a saint at a morning Mass, making her the model of his Jubilee Year of Mercy and in some ways his entire papacy. For Francis, Mother Teresa put into action his ideal of the church as a merciful "field hospital" for the poorest of the poor, those suffering both material and spiritual poverty.

Throughout the night, pilgrims prayed at vigils in area churches and flocked before dawn to the Vatican to try to get a good spot for the Mass being celebrated under a searing hot sun and blue skies.

"Her heart, she gave it to the world," said Charlotte Samba, a 52-year-old mother of three who travelled with a church group from Gabon for the Mass. "Mercy, forgiveness, good works: It is the heart of a mother for the poor."

While big, the crowds were not expected to reach the 300,000 who turned out for Mother Teresa’s 2003 beatification, thanks in part to security fears in the wake of krazed killer terrorist attacks in Europe. Those fears prompted a huge, 3,000-strong law enforcement presence to secure the area around the Vatican and close the airspace above.

Islam Karimov: Uzbekistan faces questions after leader's death
[BBC] The former Uzbek president, Islam Karimov, has been buried but many questions remain, both about his death and the future leadership and direction of his country.

Although a public transition of power began after Mr Karimov's death, questions are still being asked about the way Uzbek government handled his demise.

The first reports of his death emerged immediately after the official announcement of his hospitalisation on 28 August.

The initial report by the cabinet gave no details of his illness.

On 29 August, the president's youngest daughter, Lola Karimova-Tillayeva, said on Instagram that her father had had a brain haemorrhage over the weekend and was in intensive care.

On the same day, independent website Fergananews published its first report of Mr Karimov's death.

The Moscow-based news agency said his death occurred between 15:00 and 16:00 local time on 29 August.

That was denied by unnamed sources at the presidential administration and sources close to Mr Karimov's family.

By the time the cabinet officially announced his death on the evening of 2 September, several foreign leaders, including the Turkish prime minister, had already expressed their condolences to the Uzbek people on the death of their leader.

Quasem was an executive council member of Jamaat
[Dhaka Tribune] The war criminal Mir Quasem Ali was sentenced to death by the tribunal in 2014 and his sentence was upheld by the apex court in March this year after his counsel had failed to prove his alibi. Quasem’s final legal attempt to save his life was rejected on August 30.

During the review petition hearing, his counsel urged the court to give him lenient punishment considering his status and economic contribution. But after the court dismissed his petition, Quasem was nervous about hearing about the judgement but surprisingly did not seek presidential mercy ‐ his last lifeline.

First contract
The government in 2013 announced that it had acquired the receipt of Quasem paying $25m to appoint a lobbyist firm ‐ Washington-based Cassidy & Associates ‐ to cast doubt and raise questions about the war crimes trials. Then law minister Shafique Ahmed disclosed the information in parliament in April, 2013, adding that documents related to the dealing were to reach their hands soon.

The attorney general submitted to the Appellate Division the receipt of the $25m deal inked on October 6, 2010 during the appeal hearing. But the court expressed its displeasure as the government was yet to take legal action against the war criminal and his associates involved with the deal.

In its verdict declared on March 8 this year, the Appellate Division said that Quasem had engaged a lobbyist firm on payment of $25m "to influence the government of the United States with a view to postponing the trial process."

The receipt of payment reads: "Confirmation of receipt of the Amount of Twenty Five Million US Dollars from Mr Mir Kashem Ali for Professional Services to be Provided."

The defence argued that there was no basis in support of the contention of the attorney general, but the allegation had not been established.

Second contract
In 2011, Quasem and his brother Mir Masum Ali hired Cassidy & Associates for $310,000 to influence US politicians and government officials against the tribunal proceedings.

Cassidy’s website says the fee paid by Quasem in the first quarter of 2011 was among the largest quarterly fees incurred by any of its 140 clients that year. Only about a dozen clients paid more.

Final contract
According to information available, two pro-Jamaat organizations based in the USA hired two lobbyist firms in early 2014 to work to get members of the US Congress to condemn the actions of the war crimes tribunal and raise public awareness among the US public. But the amount spent could not be known.

New York-based Organisation for Peace and Justice (OPJ) appointed Cassidy & Associates in April 2014 to "engage members of the US Congress to support a congressional resolution condemning the actions of the ICT [International Crimes Tribunal] and to use best efforts to include anti-ICT legislative language" in the legislative bodies.

The OPJ is run by sympathisers of Jamaat and its mission is to assist the party and its members in Bangladesh.

Cassidy then sub-contracted two other firms named Cloakroom Advisors and Kglobal. Both firms were appointed to carry out the same tasks as Cassidy; but in addition, they would "conduct outreach to the Department of State (South and Central Asia Bureau and International Operations)."

As per the contract, the Organisation for Peace and Justice was supposed to pay Cassidy a total of $50,000 over a period of three months as a lobbying fee.

The second pro-Jamaat organization that is lobbying against the war crimes trial in the USA is called the Human Rights Development in Bangladesh (HRDB). In March 2014, the HRDB appointed another US lobbyist firm Just Consulting LLC which was later renamed Grieboski Global Strategies.

Grieboski was tasked with reaching out to and influencing the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom, the US Department of State and the US Congress against the war crimes trials.

So that's $1.2B/plane in 2025 dollars?

Foreign Connections of the MQM Exposed
[KASHMIRWATCH] After an aggressive anti-Pakistain speech of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement
...English: United National Movement, generally known as MQM, is the 3rd largest political party and the largest secular political party in Pakistain with particular strength in Sindh. From 1992 to 1999, the MQM was the target of the Pak Army's Operation Cleanup leaving thousands of urdu speaking civilians dead...
(MQM) chief the increasingly rotundAltaf Hussain
..The head of MQM in Pakistain, who has lived in London and hasn't laid eyes on Pakistain since Caesar made corporal. Judging from the size of him,he may be a Hutt...
on August 22, this year, party workers attacked several media houses in Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
Addressing his workers on Phone from London, who were on hunger strike, Altaf Hussain went to called for the break-up of Pakistain. He ordered attacks on the offices of Karachi-based media houses of Geo Television Network, ARY and Samaa News. Particularly, office of the ARY TV channel was badly destroyed by the MQM mob. During the violence, a passer-by was killed, while several others were maimed, including the staff of the ARY TV and coppers. During the crackdown made by the Rangers and police several holy warriors of the MQM and its leaders were rounded up.

On August 24, 2016, Altaf Hussain’s leaked phone call to MQM exposed foreign connections of the MQM and its chief Altaf Hussain when he asked USA, Indian secret agency RAW
... India's Research and Analysis Wing, Pakistain's equivalent of the Boogie Man...
and even Israel for help to disintegrate Pakistain.

Various leaders of Pakistain’s political and religious parties including every segment of society and media analysts strongly condemned the anti-Pakistain statements of Altaf Hussain in wake of protest-rallies. Some of them called him traitor. Even, his own party workers condemned Altaf Hussian’s statement. In a presser MQM leader Farooq Sattar said that that the MQM was dissociating itself from Altaf Hussain, and now the decisions would be made under his leadership--not from London.

Meanwhile,
...back at the abandoned silver mine, the water was up to Jack's neck and still rising. And then he smelled the smoke...
MQM MNA Asif Hasnain joined Mustafa Kamal’s Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP), rejecting Farooq Sattar’s earlier announcement that the MQM was dissociating itself from Altaf Hussain. Earlier, knowing the real intentions of Altaf Hussain, several MQM workers joined PSP.

The PSP chief Mustafa Kamal who have repeatedly pointed out the links between MQM and Altal Hussain, rejected the MQM’s statement that the party chief was handing over party affairs to the Coordination Committee and focusing on improving his health. Kamal invited others to join the party and said, "If you have a problem with Altaf, leave the mandate. It is not your mandate, it is his mandate."

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Bashar al-Assad’s Syrian army once again close to collapse
[BREITBART] During 2015, we repeatedly reported that the army of Syria’s president Bashir al-Assad was near collapse, after al-Assad’s army suffered a number of significant major setbacks, and was being crippled by massive desertions.
Don't count on it too heavily. Of course, that's what I usually say just before something happens, so flip a coin.
Al-Assad was saved by the massive intervention by Russia, Iran and Hezbollah. However,
a hangover is the wrath of grapes...
al-Assad’s government is rotten to the core, and the Russian military intervention appears to have save al-Assad only temporarily, as the army is once again showing signs of collapse.

Mideast expert Scott Lucas, a professor at Birmingham University, described the situation in an interview on RFI. He said that the attack on Hama has forced al-Assad to split his forces between Hama and Aleppo (my transcription):

What we’ve seen in the past week does raise the prospect he may lose Hama city, which is the 4th largest city in Syria.

The majority of the local population is against the regime there, and it’s really in effect been an occupying force in Hama since early in the uprising.

[The regime is] trying to get back into this artillery base in Aleppo, and they’re putting up wave after wave of attacks to be able to do this, and they may be able to claim this one victory, but the problem is that they’ve got to this on multiple fronts now. They not only have to be able to secure areas on the Aleppo front, they’ve got to be able to push the rebels back on the Hama front.

We knew this a year ago. At the time when the rebels took the entire Idlib province up in the northwest, we knew that there were manpower problems, because president Assad came out and said it. He sort of warned his population almost in a sense that the military was on the point of collapse.

What saved the regime at that point was this massive intervention by the Russians, in terms of the aerial operations, in combination with a sharp escalation of Iranian and Hezbollah support, including not only Iranian units, but Iranian-led foreign militias, especially the use of Iraqis and Afghan militias. ...

We’re now looking at a de facto partitioning of the country. You’re going to have Kurdish areas of Syria up in the northeast, because the Kurds have pushed back the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
. The rebels who now of course have Turkish support will hold parts of the north and the northwest. The Assad regime, which can no longer hold a national government, will try to hold the line from the Mediterranean through Homs to Damascus, and president Assad will hope to continue to remain in power as president of not all of Syria but at least part of it.

Other reports indicate a crashing economy with surging inflation, and growing infighting stemming from massive corruption.

Turkey’s PM: We will not allow artificial state of Rojava
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
’s Prime Minister Binali Yildirim has stated that Turkey will not tolerate an ’artificial state’ comprised of Kurdish holy warriors on its border. He was referring to the plan of Rojava independent of Syria rules by US-supported Marxist YPG.

"We will never allow the formation of an artificial state in the north of Syria," Yildirim said in a speech in the Kurdish city of Diyarbakir in southeastern Turkey, adding, "We are there with Euphrates Shield, we are there to protect our border, to provide for our citizens safety of life and property, and to ensure Syria’s integrity."

Meanwhile,

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan

said at the G20 gathering of world leaders in China that Turkey would not permit the establishment of a "terror corridor" in northern Syria.

"Nobody should expect that we’ll agree to the establishment of a terror corridor along our southern border in northern Syria," Erdogan said on September 1.

Turkey forms new alliance against Kurds

[ARA News] AMUDE – Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım has condemned Western media reports that Ankara’s military operations target Kurds and not ISIS, suggesting they just target terrorists. But Kurdish civilians in Syria disagree.

“Thos claims are baseless; Turkey’s main objective is to hit the Kurds in Syria and prevent them from obtaining their legitimate rights,” Kurdish activist Abdulqadir Darwish told ARA News. “It’s not a matter of which Kurdish party is in control of Rojava [Syria’s Kurdish region]. Turkey has reached an agreement with Iran and others to hit the Kurds.”

“The US support for our forces is merely to serve their own interests in the region. We’ve been fighting ISIS for years, but we shouldn’t expect anything in return, not even regaining our legitimate rights as a nation of 40 million people,” Darwish said.

“Today the Kurds find themselves in fight with ISIS, Turkey, Assad regime and Iran,” said Sharwan Amudi, a Kurdish citizen in Hasakah province.

“We are all aware that after Turkey invaded Jarablus city, ISIS militants just removed their beards and joined other Turkish-backed rebel groups who claim to be members of the so-called Free Syrian Army,” he said.

“The Turks would make an agreement with the devil just to destroy the Kurds and to stay in power in this region,” he added.

Mohammed Kheir Najar, a citizen from Amude city, told ARA News that Turkey considers all Kurdish parties as enemies. “For Turkey, there is no difference between the PKK, PYD, or KDP,” he said.

“Turkey’s main goal from intervening in Syria is to prevent the Kurdish advance against radical groups. They are trying to destroy the Rojava democratic project,” Najar said.

Turkey Ejects Islamic State Forces From Segment of Syrian Border

from its 60-mile foothold along the Syrian border after launching a second front against the jihadist group over the weekend, the Turkish state news agency Anadolu reported Sunday.

The breakthrough victory deprives Islamic State of direct access to the areas that had been vital to its ability to resupply itself with imported muscle and bomb-making materials as it fights to preserve its self-declared caliphate as well as its ability to export its terrorism around the world.

Turkey’s incursions, called Operation Euphrates Shield, also represent an important achievement for the nation still struggling to restore stability after the July 15 failed coup and prove that its military preparedness hasn’t suffered despite a purge of thousands of officers after the failed takeover. Turkish armored units, artillery and air force took part in the battles, along with an estimated 1,000 Syrian rebel fighters and air support from the U.S.-led coalition against Islamic State. Turkey reported only one death among its soldiers during the 12-day military campaign.

On Saturday, Turkish tanks with Syrian rebels fighting under the Free Syrian Army
... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund...
coalition seized al-Rai, a town that Syrian rebels lost to Islamic State earlier in May, and spread east and west to several surrounding villages. By Sunday night, the Turkey-supported Syrian rebel forces had control of a territory stretching unbroken from Azaz to Jarablus, according to Anadolu.

The weekend gains follow a successful battle last week by Turkey’s military to seize Jarablus, which lies across the border from Gaziantep, a Turkish city of two million people that has been severely destabilized by the flow of imported muscle entering Syria and leaving that war-torn country to spread Islamic State terror in their homelands. In mid August a suspected Islamic State bomber killed 54 Turks, mainly women and kiddies, celebrating at a wedding ceremony.

Jihadist civil war on the horizon as Jund and Ahrar battle in Idlib
[ALMASDARNEWS] Hours ago, reports emerged from rebel sources talking about festivities between Ahrar al-Sham
...a Syria jihadi group made up of Islamists and salafists, not that there's that much difference, formed into a brigade. They make up the main element of the Islamic Front but they don't profess adoration of al-Qaeda and they've been fighting (mainly for survival) against the Islamic State. Their leadership was wiped out at a single blow by a suicide kaboom at a crowded basement meeting in September, 2014...
and Jund al-Aqsa (Qaeda franchise) in the town of Ariha, a few kilometers to the west of Idlib.

According to the same source, festivities began following an liquidation attempt by Jund al-Aqsa turbans against the vice leader of the Ahrar al-Sham movement. In addition, a Jund al-Aqsa jacket wallah targeted an Ahrar-held HQ in the city of Binnish at the heart of Idlib.

Those events come at a sensitive time when Jund al-Aqsa, FSA-affiliated Jaish al-Nasr, Jabhat Fath al-Sham, and Ahrar are fiercely battling the government forces north of Hama.

Notably, Ahrar al-Sham was mobilizing against Jund al-Aqsa in the Ghab plains prior to the southwest Aleppo offensive that was initiated around a month ago. Jund al-Aqsa have been amply accused of hoarding ISIS sleeper cells and indulging in a trade with ISIS in eastern Hama.

Adding merit to the accusations, Jund al-Aqsa have always refused to fight against the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. terror group on the side of their Islamist comrades.

It remains unknown whether the aforementioned festivities will continue to escalate or whether they will result in mass-scale civil war that ends with the expulsion of the Jund al-Aqsa terror group in a similar manner to ISIS’s expulsion from the jihadist-held Idlib province in the 2014 festivities.

Indonesia arrests another suspect in Batam attack plot
[TODAYONLINE] Indonesia has incarcerated

another suspect who is allegedly connected to the terror cell that had plotted to launch a rocket from Batam to Marina Bay, a month after the authorities foiled the plan.

The 24-year-old, identified by the police by the initials LH, was arrested at an operation by the country’s elite counter-terrorist forces at a cyber cafe in Batu Aji, Batam over the weekend, Indonesian media quoted police front man Agus Rianto as saying.

A cell phone, one cycle of violence and a wallet were also confiscated.

The unemployed suspect was said to be part of KGR@Katibah GR, a group headed by Gigih Rahmat Dewa. The group is said to have links to Syria-based Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. (IS) bully boy Bahrun Naim, who has encouraged attacks on Singapore.

"LH was part of the group that was plotting an attack on Marina Bay," Mr Agus said. "He also underwent training using airsoft guns as preparations to go to Syria."

Indonesian police last month had arrested Gigih Rahmat and five accomplices who were part of KGR@Katibah GR on suspicion of being involved in the Marina Bay rocket plot. The arrests came amid mounting concern about the spread of Islamist ideology in Indonesia, the world’s largest Moslem-majority nation.

It was the latest terror plot in Indonesia, where there has been a surge in attacks and attempted attacks this year due to the growing influence of IS. The police later released one of the six after concluding he was not involved in the plot. Details of the alleged rocket plot, however, remain sketchy. It is also unclear what sort of rocket the group had planned to use.
