Victims of False Accusations of Rape Need to Be Heard, Too
h/t Instapundit
False accusations ruin lives and bring indescribable heartache. We hear a lot about rape and sexual assault victims, but rarely do we hear of the injustices and pain endured by those falsely accused of such crimes, the silent sufferers of cruelty and malice.

The confirmation hearings of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh have brought into focus a great divide in this country between those who choose to believe any allegation a woman makes and those who value presumption of innocence when a man is accused of rape. Many of us aren’t willing to discard due process simply because feminists demand it ‐ we have experienced firsthand the devastation that follows in the wake of false accusations, particularly regarding rape, sexual assault, and molestation.

Iranian Supertanker Offloads Oil at Storage Facility in China Ahead of U.S. Sanctions
Hat tip - gCaptain
A vessel carrying 2 million barrels of Iranian oil discharged the crude into a bonded storage tank at the port of Dalian in northeast China on Monday, according to Refinitiv Eikon data and a shipping agent with knowledge of the matter.

Iran, the third-largest producer in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), is finding fewer takers for its crude ahead of U.S. sanctions on its oil exports that will go into effect on Nov. 4. The country previously held oil in storage at Dalian during the last round of sanctions in 2014 that was later sold to buyers in South Korea and India.

The very large crude carrier Dune, operated by National Iranian Tanker Co, offloaded oil into a bonded storage site at the Xingang section of the port, according to a shipping source based in Dalian, adding this was the first Iranian oil to discharge into bonded storage in nearly four years.

The tanker left the Iranian oil port at Kharg Island on Sept. 12, according to ship-tracking data.

The Xingang area is home to several tank farms including commercial and strategic reserves. China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC) and Dalian Port PDA Co Ltd both operate commercial storage in the area, according to information on their company websites.

An investor relations official at Dalian Port declined to comment.

A manager at the bonded crude storage site operated by Dalian Port declined to comment whether Iranian oil were moved to the tanks, calling it the "worst time" to give any comment regarding Iranian crude because of the U.S. sanctions.
I'm not sayin' nothin'.
A person at the CNPC-owned storage site who refused to identify himself when contacted by Reuters said it is "impossible" that the oil is stored there.
Then his lips fell off
A spokesman for CNPC said he had no information on this matter.

An executive with the China office of National Iranian Oil Co (NIOC) declined to comment. NIOC also did not respond to an email request seeking comment if it is storing oil at Dalian.

The shipping source said there is no buyer earmarked for the cargo.

Three other NITC tankers are set to arrive in Dalian in the next week or two, the ship-tracking data shows. Some of those cargoes are also likely to end up in bonded storage as the refineries in the region, controlled by CNPC, are not equipped to process Iranian oil, said three sources at state-run Chinese refiners.

China’s Iranian oil buyers, including state-owned refiner Sinopec and state trader Zhuhai Zhenrong Corp, have shifted their cargoes to vessels owned by NITC since July to keep supplies flowing as the U.S. sanctions have been re-imposed.

Keeping oil in bonded storage gives the shipment owner the option to sell into China or to other buyers in the region.

Your Weekly East Boston MS-13 Gang Update
[Universal Hub] - A federal judge today sentenced Herzzon "Casper" Sandoval to 20 years in prison for a RICO violation - his role in encouraging the murder of a 15-year-old on Trenton Street in East Boston and two attempted murders.

Sandoval was the leader of MS-13's Eastside Loco Salvatrucha "clique" when one of his clique members tried for a promotion by murdering Irvin de Paz, 15, on Trenton Street on Sept. 20, 2015. A federal jury in Boston found him guilty of a RICO violation in February, the US Attorney's office reports.

De Paz was a member of the rival 18th Street Gang and the murder should have been enough for a promotion to "homeboy" for Julio "Animal" Martinez, but Sandoval refused to give it to him because of past supposed violations of MS-13 rules. Instead, Sandoval encouraged Martinez to do more killings, according to a federal sentencing document in the case.

It is an upgrade from a Mod 1, which was a pretty substantial redesign/upgrade of a Mod 0. This 'looks' like the main updates center on internal changes; it doesn't look all 'that' different externally (to me) from a Mod 1. But it has been a while. The Mod 1 was solid.

General Mattis orders fighter jet readiness to jump to 80 percent — in one year
[Defense News] WASHINGTON ‐ Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis has ordered the Air Force and Navy to get mission capable rates for four key tactical aircraft up above 80 percent by the end of next September, a daunting challenge given the current readiness rates of America’s fighter fleets.

In a memo issued Sept. 17 to the secretaries of the Army, Air Force and Navy, along with acquisition head Ellen Lord and acting Undersecretary for Personnel and Readiness Stephanie Barna, Mattis acknowledges "budget constraints and shortfalls in aviation squadrons across the force" have led to "systemic underperformance, overcapitalization and unrealized capacity" in the fighter fleets.

"For change to be effective and efficient, we must focus on meeting our most critical priorities first," Mattis wrote in the memo, obtained exclusively by Defense News.

#3  There are different types of orders for something like this. Usually they are given by desk jockys that expect all the usual red tape rules to be followed and utter failure usually results.

Then there are the ones given by warriors and they fully expect the people under them to do what they need to get the job done and damn the rules and the commander who gave the order will give everything he can to help his people get it done.

I expect it is the latter order, but we will see.

Washington and Lee renames buildings; orders portraits of Lee, Washington in military attire replaced
[Richmond Times Dispatch] Washington and Lee University has decided to make changes to the names of some campus buildings after concerns from students and faculty.

On Tuesday, the Board of Trustees announced that it will rename Robinson Hall as Chavis Hall, in honor of John Chavis, the first African-American to receive a college education in the United States. He graduated from Washington Academy, the predecessor of W&L, in 1799. Also, Lee-Jackson House will be renamed Simpson Hall in honor of Pamela Hemenway Simpson, who served as an associate dean of the college and helped move to a co-ed environment in the 1980s.

The board also announced that effective immediately, it will replace portraits of Robert E. Lee and George Washington in military uniforms inside Lee Chapel with portraits of the two men in civilian clothing. The board also ordered the doors to the statue chamber in the 1883 addition to Lee Chapel to be closed during university events.

The board’s decisions were made after meeting with students and faculty last weekend and after reviewing feedback from alumni.

In a statement, J. Donald Childress, rector of the board of trustees, and William C. Dudley, university president, said, "We appreciate the seriousness and thoughtfulness with which our fellow trustees have approached these matters. On behalf of the Board, we want to express our gratitude to all of those members of the community who contributed to our deliberations, through countless letters and conversations over the summer and on campus this weekend. We are fortunate to be part of a community that cares deeply about this institution and is so dedicated to its continued success."

Rand Paul Calls Out Cory Booker's Rhetoric - ‘Someone Is Going to Be Killed'
[Daily Caller] Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul on Tuesday took aim at the rhetoric employed by Sen. Cory Booker and others, accusing them of "ratcheting up the conversation" to the point where "unstable" people could commit violence.

"I fear that there’s going to be an assassination," Paul told Kentucky radio host Leland Conway. "I really worry that someone is going to be killed and that those who are ratcheting up the conversation, those who are saying ’get in their face’ ‐ they have to realize that they bear some responsibility if this elevates to violence."

"These are people that are unstable," Paul said. "We don’t want to encourage them. We have to somehow ratchet it down and say we’re not encouraging them that violence is ever OK or ever a reason or a means to try to resolve things." (RELATED: Antifa Protesters Block Portland Traffic, Nearly Start Riot During Patrick Kimmons Vigil)

Directly calling out Booker, who last July told activists to "get up in the face of some congresspeople," Paul referenced both his own assault at the hands of a neighbor as well as last year’s baseball field shooting in which Rep. Steve Scalise was wounded to show that "unstable" people can easily take things too far.

"I think what people need to realize is when people like Cory Booker say ’get up in their face’ ‐ he may think that that’s OK, but what he doesn’t realize is that for about every 1,000 people who might want to get up in your face, one of them is going to be unstable enough to commit violence," said Paul.

The Kentucky senator also pointed out the "double standard" when it comes to left and right wing violence.

"If it’s an accusation with no substantiation it’s utterly to be believed," he said, referencing the allegations against Judge Kavanaugh. "In my case it wasn’t an accusation. I actually was assaulted ... and yet the media discounted that completely because they don’t like my politics. So this just shows it’s just about politics. It really isn’t about concern or people wanting to lesson violence."

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Owner of limo in deadly crash was FBI mole who foiled synagogue attack plot
Life is full of surprises.
[IsraelTimes] The Pak immigrant Shahed Hussain went undercover at a NY mosque, where he made tapes that helped convict a cell planning to attack Jews and shoot down a military planes

The owner of a limousine company involved in a crash that killed 20 people was a paid FBI informant known for his work that helped foil a series of planned terror attack, including on two synagogues.

Records show Prestige Limousine is owned by Shahed Hussain, a Pak immigrant and Albany-area businessman who began going undercover for the FBI after he ran into legal trouble.
Another failed Paki business venture? Probably no connection whatsoever to the Awan Bros. car dealership in Falls Church, VA.
A stretch SUV in the company’s small fleet sped off the road and crashed in Schoharie, New York, Saturday. State and federal authorities are investigating the cause and roadworthiness of the vehicle. A lawyer for the company said the limo was safe.

In 2009, prosecutors credited Hussain with rooting out radical Moslems in an elaborate sting at a mosque in Newburgh, a city north of New York City. At trial, the jury heard testimony that Hussain was posing as a wealthy representative of a Pak terrorist organization.
Living an easy cover, since that's probably what he actually was anyway.
He drove a BMW and other luxury vehicles provided by the FBI to maintain his cover. He also made hundreds of hours of video and audio tapes of the defendants picking targets and ranting against Jews. His cooperation resulted in the conviction of four men in a thwarted plot to attack synagogues and shoot down military planes.

But Hussain’s work also came under attack by defense attorneys and civil liberties groups as entrapment. They portrayed him as a master manipulator who entrapped a crew of aimless nobodies while earning $96,000 for his work.
We've spent a lot of money on this project, it's time for a conviction.
Even US District Judge Colleen McMahon said at sentencing that she was not proud of the government’s role in the plot.

"I believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that there would have been no crime here except the government instigated it, planned it and brought it to fruition," McMahon said. She added, "That does not mean there was no crime."

According to his trial testimony, Hussain first entered the US in Texas with his wife and two sons in the 1990s after he was accused of murder in Pakistain. Hussain said the accusation was false and politically motivated.
A Paki political refugee and alleged murderer, with a British passport arriving via Moscow.
He went to Albany, where he received asylum. In April 2003, he was working as a government translator when he pleaded guilty to a federal fraud charge for helping someone get their driver’s license illegally.
Was the "someone" also a Paki intelligence agent? Delta Frequent Flier ?
He got a sentence that required no more jail time by working as an FBI informant.
So he became a source to avoid prosecution. "Flipped" essentially.
Hussain was a central player in an FBI sting targeting an Albany pizza shop owner and a holy man who were convicted of money laundering and conspiring to aid a terrorist group. Both defendants said they were tricked by Hussain during the sting, which involved a business loan using money from a fictitious missile sale.
Sun article in comments provides "Undercover FBI footage" of Hussain holding a rocket launcher while chatting to one of the terror suspects he helped bring down. Wall camera in adjacent room, Crest Inn Suites and Cottages ?
More recently, a botched sting involving Hussain in Pittsburgh became the subject of a documentary called "(T)error." Hussain’s role in the Newburgh case was also the subject of an HBO documentary.

In more recent years, he was the owner of a low-budget safe house motel, the Crest Inn Suites and Cottages, outside Saratoga Springs. The limo company was registered at that address.

Asked Monday about Hussain, the FBI wouldn’t comment.
Neither Comey or Mueller are said to be answering their phones.

#1  The Sun:

Hussain, 62, fled to the US from Pakistan in 1994 after he was arrested for murder in his homeland, the Daily Mail reports.

After his father allegedly bribed local police to let him go, Hussain left the conservative Islamic country using a British passport and he travelled to Moscow then Mexico before entering the US, claims the report.

He then reportedly applied for political asylum in America using an immigration lawyer which enabled him to get a job as a translator at the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

However he was arrested in 2002 by the FBI after being busted for taking part in a racket within the DMV where he would offer learner drivers guaranteed passes on their tests in exchange for a fee.

But rather than go to jail, Hussain became an informant for the Feds, recording conversations of his colleagues within the motoring organisation.

According to the Daily Mail, four years later, after filing for bankruptcy, he was able to buy a hotel in Gansevoort, which later became the Crest Inn, with money he claimed was given to him by Pakistan’s then Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

#2  Driver in deadly limo crash reportedly had prior drug busts

The driver in the deadly upstate limo crash was busted twice on drug charges during the past eight years — including once during a traffic stop, according to reports published at the time.

Scott Lisinicchia, then 48, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and an equipment violation when he was stopped while driving in Saratoga Springs on Nov. 22, 2013, The Saratogian reported the following day.

Lisinicchia was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana in Saratoga Springs on July 2, 2010, according to the Saratogian.

[Washington Examiner] Mexican officials found a cross-border tunnel that started in a home in Jacume, Mexico, less than 100 yards away from the U.S. border.

After mapping the 31-feet deep and 627-feet long tunnel, U.S. officials determined that the tunnel reached 336 feet into the area in Jacumba, Calif., the Los Angeles Times reported.

U.S. Border Patrol, Homeland Security Investigations, and Drug Enforcement Administration officials determined that even though the tunnel does cross the U.S.-Mexican border, it does not have an exit yet into the U.S.

The beginnings of an exit shaft reached 15 feet but had not broken the surface.

"Sophisticated tunnels take a lot of time and money to make," said Border Patrol Agent Tekae Michael. "When we find them, they’re a pretty big deal."

Michael said that these types of tunnels are not uncommon in the area, and the tunnel was likely made to transport drugs into the U.S. from Mexico.

‘The View' Hosts Write Off Kanye's Trump Openness As Mental Illness
[The Federalist] There is an endless buzz around Kanye West’s conversion to MAGA hats, free speech, and meetings with President Trump in the White House. Thankfully, the hosts of ABC’s "The View," who are apparently also practicing psychiatrists, were able to diagnose West’s political interests as a mental illness and "attention grab."

Their conversation on Tuesday’s show quickly diverted from the topics West intends to discuss with the president (manufacturing, prison reform, gang violence, to name a few) to discussing how West suffers from mental illness, bipolar disorder, and a family who can’t convince him he has a problem.

"If you have a family member that suffers from mental illness... you have to get inside their head, which is an impossible task, and convince them that there is a big enough problem that they need to get help, and they’re not willing to do that," host Abby Huntsman said. "If you’re Kim Kardashian, you feel for her in this moment."

Guest host Yvette Nicole Brown acknowledged that she does not know when West has been on or off his medicine, yet proceeded to explain how his meeting with the president is strictly for the attention. "This is not even about the policies at this point. He just wants the attention. It’s an attention-grab at this point and I don’t know who around him ‐ his handlers, his wife ‐ can get to him," she said.

Science & Technology
Scientists connect 3 actual human brains (then make them play Tetris)
[C-Net] Neuroscientists behind the project called it "BrainNet", a "multi-person non-invasive direct brain-to-brain interface for collaborative problem solving".

In layman's terms, researchers from the University of Washington and Carnegie Mellon University figured out a way to connect three brains (still attached to their human hosts!) and have the owners of said brains make collective choices together without speaking.

And they tested it by playing Tetris. Because of course they did.

The team used "electroencephalograms" (EEGs) to record electric impulses from two human brains and "transcranial magnetic stimulation" (TMS) to deliver information to a third brain. The end result: an interface that allowed three human subjects to collaborate and solve Tetris problems using brain-to-brain communication.

In the test, two "senders" were connected to EEG sensors and communicated to a third person, the "receiver" via a TMS helmet with the ability to send flashes directly to the brain.

The two "senders" could see the game of Tetris being played, the "receiver" could not. The goal: send a message telling the receiver to either rotate or not rotate the Tetris piece, depending on how the game was going.

In order to communicate, the senders had to stare at one of two LED lights. These two lights were flashing at different frequencies, meaning that different signals were sent from the brain depending on which light was being stared at. If the receiver received a flash from the TMS helmet, he had to rotate the block.

Incredibly, five groups of three subjects were able to successfully perform the task 81 percent of the time.

Trump rally crowd erupts with chants of 'lock her up' about Feinstein
[The Hill] Attendees at President Trump's campaign rally in Iowa on Tuesday night chanted "lock her up" after the president questioned whether Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) leaked allegations of sexual misconduct against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Trump invoked Feinstein while ticking through a series of attacks on various Democrats, including Sens. Elizabeth Warren (Mass.), Cory Booker (N.J.) and Richard Blumenthal (Conn.).

"How about Sen. Feinstein? That’s another beauty," Trump said.

"'Did you leak the documents?'" he added, before portraying an exaggerated nervous denial from Feinstein.

The crowd broke into chants of "lock her up," prompting laughter from Trump.

"I think they’re talking about Feinstein," Trump said. "Can you believe it?"

Google, the Good Censor
[Breitbart] An internal company briefing produced by Google and leaked exclusively to Breitbart News argues that due to a variety of factors, including the election of President Trump, the "American tradition" of free speech on the internet is no longer viable.

Despite leaked video footage showing top executives declaring their intention to ensure that the rise of Trump and the populist movement is just a "blip" in history, Google has repeatedly denied that the political bias of its employees filter into its products.

But the 85-page briefing, titled "The Good Censor," admits that Google and other tech platforms now "control the majority of online conversations" and have undertaken a "shift towards censorship" in response to unwelcome political events around the world.

Examples cited in the document include the 2016 election and the rise of Alternative for Deutschland (AfD) in Germany.

When the going gets tough, have a nap
[BBC] When her daughter was preschool-aged, Rebecca Spencer experienced something familiar to many parents and childminders: the power of a nap. Without it, her daughter would be giddy, grumpy, or both.

Spencer, a neuroscientist focusing on sleep at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, wanted to investigate the science behind this anecdotal experience. "The observation of a lot of people is that a napless kid is emotionally dysregulated," she says. "So that spurred us to ask this question of, ’Do naps actually do something to process emotions?’"

Research has already shown that, in general, sleep helps us make sense of emotions. Sleep plays a key role in encoding information based on experiences from the day, making sleep critical for preserving memories. And emotional memories are unique because of the way they activate the amygdala, the brain’s emotional core.

"Amygdala activation is what allows your wedding day and the funeral of your parents to be a day better remembered, more than just any other day of work," Spencer says.

Operation 'Green Mountain' nets 53 arrests for drug, illegal arms trafficking; money laundering
[ICE] SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico ‐ U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents, working jointly with other federal, state and local law enforcement agents arrested 53 individuals Thursday for drug and illegal arms trafficking and money laundering. The arrests were part of an investigation dubbed Operation Green Mountain against members of a transnational drug trafficking organization with nexus in Mexico and Colombia operating from Las Dolores Ward in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.

The indictments allege that since 2010, the organization purchased and sold wholesale quantities of heroin, cocaine and marijuana and that it used the United States Postal Service (USPS) to purchase and mail these drugs to and from various distributors in several states.

USPS employees were aware of the shipments of controlled substances and would hold the packages for pick-up by co-conspirators or divert them to other members of the conspiracy.

Members of the conspiracy included police officers who provided information regarding investigations of the conspirators, interfered in police investigations for the benefit of the conspirators and provided information to the conspirators on how to avoid police detection. The indictment alleges they used and leveraged their official positions as law enforcement officers in furtherance of the conspiracy. The charging document also alleges that the conspirators sold street quantity amounts of cocaine, crack and marijuana at drug points in Río Grande.

#1  ...It's been my experience that Slavic explosives safety protocols are...ummm...sketchy.

The Severomorsk Disaster in 1984 pretty much wiped out the ammo reserves for the Soviet Atlantic Fleet - had they gone to war, they pretty much would have fought with what they had on the ships, there would have been no reloads. Among other things that contributed to the accident:

*Explosives quantity/distance rules were routinely violated.
*Magazine doors often could not be closed due to poor construction, and in some cases frustrated weapons crews just took the damn doors off.
*Traffic in a bomb dump is supposed to go one-way at VERY low speed limits in order to avoid the possibility of collisions. Severomorsk didn't do that (unclear as to whether or not they were ignoring policy or never had the policy in the first place) and according to the report I saw in the late 80s, two explosives laden trucks did in fact collide at a fairly good clip...right in front of one of those mags that didn't have doors.

Hilarity ensued.

Religious leaders gather in Karbala to denounce spread of sectarian propaganda
[PRESSTV] Religious leaders from around the world have met in Iraq’s holy city of Karbala to speak out against religious extremism and the spread of sectarian propaganda by the Western media.

Scholars, journalists and politicians attended the Fifth Tarateel Sajjadiya International Festival, organized by Imam Hussain Holy Shrine from October 5 to 7. The festival aimed at providing a platform for hearing anti-extremism voices, Press TV reports.

Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Karbalai, the representative of Iraq’s top Shia holy man Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, was one of the keynote speakers at the conference, which included several plenary sessions.

He talked about the success of Iraqi forces in the fight against the Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
ISIS terrorist group and how Iraqis of all sects fought side by side against the terror outfit.

"As the Shia gave blood against ISIS, so did the Sunni," said Sheikh Karbalai, adding, "We have been fighting ISIS since day one. All Iraqis stood together to fight, so we could all achieve victory together."

Not long after ISIS overran Iraq in 2014, Grand Ayatollah Sistani issued a religious decree, calling on the Iraqi people to "defend the country, the honor of its citizens, and its sacred places."

The ruling, known as a fatwa, led to the formation of the pro-government Popular Mobilization Forces, also known by their Arabic name the Hashd al-Sha’abi.

Lawyers in Lahore lock court’s gates in protest against suo motu
[DAWN] The members of Lahore Bar Association (LBA) on Monday locked entrance gates of sessions court for hours as protest against a suo motu
...a legal term, from the Latin. Roughly translated it means I saw what you did, you bastard...
notice taken by Chief Justice of Pakistain Mian Saqib Nisar on manhandling of a policeman by lawyers.

At a general house meeting of the bar, the lawyers termed the suo motu notice taken by the chief justice a disappointing step. They announced removal of all CCTV cameras installed in and outside the courtrooms in the sessions court. They claimed that the cameras had been used for victimisation of the lawyers.

The bar’s leaders announced that next general house meeting would be held in the Supreme Court on Oct 13.

They were of the view that the policeman, who received a bashing at the sessions court, had been patronising a mafia of land-grabbers and lodging false cases against lawyers. They said the protest would continue till cancellation of cases registered against the lawyers.

The other day, Chief Justice Nisar had taken notice of assault by lawyers on a police sub-inspector after video of the incident was aired by television channels.

The chief justice had summoned IGP Punjab
1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

for Oct 13 along with a report on the incident. Pakistain Bar Council Vice Chairman Ahsan Bhoon, president and general secretary of the LBA were also asked to attend the hearing.

Israeli strikes in Syria to continue despite S-300 delivery, Netanyahu says
[PRESSTV] Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he has informed Russian officials that the Tel Aviv will continue to hit target inside Syria, irrespective of Moscow’s decision to deliver advanced S-300 surface-to-air missile systems to the Damascus government.

Speaking at a presser in Jerusalem al-Quds on Tuesday, Netanyahu said he had told Russian Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov that Israel would continue to fight what he charged as Iran’s attempts to deepen its military presence in Syria and transfer weapons to the fighters of the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement.

The Israeli prime minister added that he believed that the current dispute between Moscow and Tel Aviv over the recent downing of a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft off the coast of Syria’s western province of Latakia would be resolved.

"I think that with common sense and goodwill we can come to a solution that will allow the continuation of the good coordination between the Russian and Israeli militaries," Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu said at the weekly cabinet meeting on Sunday that he would meet Russian President Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. VDH - Kavanaugh Casualties
[National Review] When the Christine Ford saga finally ended with the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, a lot of truth had distilled out, along with the evaporation of prior pretensions and misconceptions.

The Left

The hearing confirmed that the traditional JFK/Hubert Humphrey Democrat party, as once envisioned by a Bill Clinton, Gary Hart, or Jim Webb, is long kaput. In its place is being birthed a hard-left progressive movement that absorbs the ideologies and methodologies of its base and that now incorporates all sorts, from Ocasio-Cortez’s socialist hipsters to Black Lives Matters, Antifa, and Occupy Wall Street protestors.

The new progressives recently have come to believe that they gain traction by the theater of disrupting senate hearings, cornering senators in elevators, stalking them on the way to work, doxing their opponents on the Internet, and during the hearings throwing out the concept of due process. Any means is deemed permissible to enact visions of social justice, given legislative and executive power is lost for now ‐ and as if proverbially ordinary Americans who watched the televised circus might applaud the performers.

Syrian President passes historic decree granting amnesty to all military deserters
[ALMASDARNEWS] Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Scourge of Qusayr...
passed a historical legislative decree this morning that grants all military deserters amnesty.

According to a government report, the Syrian President issued decree number 18 for 2018, which grants general amnesty for military deserters inside and outside the country and the crimes included in the Military Penalties Law issued by Legislative Decree No. 61 for 1950 and its amendments committed before October 9, 2018.

Not everyone is eligible for amnesty, as the new decree specifically leaves out people wanted for crimes against the state.

However,
there's more than one way to stuff a chicken...
if they turn themselves within the next four months (6 months for people outside the country), they will be considered for amnesty.

The legislative decree also provides general amnesty for crimes included in the law of Military Service No. 30 of 2007 and its amendments.

(ISIS) Death Eaters inside the al-Safa region.

According to a military source in Sweida city, the Syrian paratroopers landed behind enemy lines in the al-Safa region, Monday, in order to help eliminate the Islamic State’s well-fortified trenches that have proven difficult to infiltrate.

The source added that the Syrian Arab Army is now storming the Islamic State’s positions at three different axes in a bid to reach the highest peak in the al-Safa region.

The Islamic State has occupied the al-Safa region for over three years now; they were forced to retreat back to this part of the Sweida Governorate after a series of losses across southern and eastern Syria.

"One of our servicemen was killed as a military base, located in the regional center of Cukurca in our province, was attacked by two rockets launched from the territory of northern Iraq on October 9. Four more people were maimed, including one civilian who is at death's door. The investigation is underway," the statement read.

The Ottoman Turkish forces are involved in anti-PKK raids across the country and in northern Iraq.

Earlier in October, the Ottoman Turkish parliament approved the extension of a mandate authorizing the deployment of Ottoman Turkish troops in Iraq and Syria for one more year.

Tensions between Ankara and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), listed as a terror organization in the country, escalated in July 2015 when the ceasefire between Turkey and the PKK collapsed over a series of terror attacks which the Ottoman Turkish government holds the PKK responsible for.

Aid groups frustrated as foreign staff told to leave Palu
[DAWN] Indonesia on Tuesday told foreign aid workers that their help was not needed in disaster-ravaged Palu and they should go home, frustrating relief efforts after a quake-tsunami killed more than 2,000 people.

Foreign teams on the ground were told new rules barred them from searching for the dead in hard-hit parts of Palu, where thousands are missing since the Sept 28 twin disaster.

Indonesia initially refused international help but President Joko Widodo reluctantly agreed to allow in overseas aid once the picture became clearer on Sulawesi island.

Foreign aid poured into the ravaged city of Palu where authorities believe 5,000 people could be missing and 200,000 survivors desperately need food, water and other life-saving supplies.

But international search and rescue teams were prevented on Tuesday from accessing hard-hit parts of Palu, where thousands are believed to be buried underneath rubble.

Ahmed Bham from South African charity, Gift of the Givers, was told that new rules barred foreign urban search and rescue teams (USAR) from playing any part in retrieving the dead.

They were told, "all foreign USAR teams should make their way obviously back to their countries. They don't need them in Indonesia", he said.

"We've got experienced search and rescue teams here in Indonesia with really specialised equipment. I'd like to use them," he told AFP in Palu.

Their 27-strong team arrived in Palu three days ago from Johannesburg, but days of delay frustrated their wish to join the search for the dead.

on Tuesday said it will search the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul as part of an investigation into the disappearance of a missing Saudi contributor to The Washington Post, a week after he vanished during a visit there.

The announcement came as the Post published a surveillance image of Jamal Khashoggi walking into the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul, just before he disappeared.

Ottoman Turkish officials have said they fear the columnist was killed inside the premises.

has called the allegations that it killed 59-year-old Khashoggi "baseless", but has offered no evidence over the past seven days to show that he ever left the building.

Tuesday's statement from the Ottoman Turkish Foreign Ministry's front man Hami Aksoy said that Saudi authorities have notified Ankara that they were "open to cooperation" and would allow the consulate building to be searched.

The ministry did not say when the premises would be searched. Officials in Saudi Arabia did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

condemned the attack and said Afghans who believed in democracy would not allow "terrorists" to stop the elections.

It is not clear how many people were inside the room at the time of the blast, which comes a day after the Taliban warned candidates to pull out of the "bogus" election scheduled for October 20.

Describing the polls as a "malicious American conspiracy" and urging voters to boycott them, Taliban front man Zabihullah Mujahid said the holy warriors would pull no punches to disrupt the ballot.

Netanyahu: World must recognize occupied Golan as Israel’s
[PRESSTV] Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the international community should recognize as "Israeli territory" the Golan Heights, a Syrian territory which has been under the regime’s occupation for over five decades.

"Israel on the Golan Heights is a fact that the international community must recognize and as long as it depends on me, the Golan Heights will always remain under Israeli illusory sovereignty," Netanyahu said on Monday during a visit to the occupied territory.

The premier claimed that if Israel withdraws from the occupied Golan, the regime will find itself with Iran and the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah on the "shores of the Kinneret (sea of Galilee)" in the northern part of occupied territories.

Iran and Hezbollah are "trying constantly to establish a force opposite us that would operate against the Golan Heights and the Galilee," he claimed.

Israel is deeply angered by Iran’s military advisory assistance to Syrian armed forces in their operations against the terrorist groups, which have the backing of Tel Aviv and its allies.

Iran’s presence in Syria comes at the request of the government in Damascus.

Hezbollah forces have also been assisting the Syrian government on the ground to clear areas bordering Leb from terrorist groups.

Israel has been on high alert in recent days as Syrian government forces have made significant gains against foreign-backed Death Eaters near the Golan Heights.

Khashoggi is seen in a surveillance photo published by the Washington Post entering the consulate, where Ottoman Turkish officials believe he was killed earlier this month.

A front man for Turkey’s Foreign Ministry said Saudi officials have relayed to Ankara that they were "open to cooperation" and would allow the consulate to be searched.

But the ministry did not provide a timeline for when that might happen.

The surveillance image, which the newspaper said it received from a "person close to the investigation," includes an Oct. 2 time stamp of Khashoggi, 59, walking to the consulate’s main entrance.

Saudi officials have called claims that Khashoggi was killed in the consulate "baseless" but have yet to release any evidence that the writer left the building, despite repeated requests from Ottoman Turkish officials.

Turkey has not issued any proof to back up its claims.

They did this at the behest of the Iran-Qatar-Muslim Brotherhood-Russia alliance in order to weaken the Saudi backed side in Yemen specifically and to drive a wedge between the West and the Saudis.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Ottoman Turkish security forces launched a big operation this morning to arrest several suspected members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in southeast The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund....
According to the state-owned Anadolu Agency, the Ottoman Turkish security forces locked away
Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please!
at least 90 suspected members of the PKK organization in southeast Turkey.

Citing the Interior Ministry, the Anadolu report said that of the 90 arrests made in the last 12 hours, at least 80 of them were made in the Diyarbakir Province near the Syrian border.

The other arrests reportedly took place in the Mersin, Van, Sirnak, Sanliurfa, Batman and Mardin provinces.

Many terror group-related documents and digital material were seized during the operations.
Al Ahram adds:
The operation across eight provinces was continuing, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.

The arrests come days after President Tayyip Erdogan warned he would replace any mayors elected in next year's local elections if they were deemed to have links to terrorism.

Erdogan accuses the main pro-Kurdish party, the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), of links to the PKK. The HDP denies this and says it is unjustly targeted by the government.

More than 140 HDP members were tossed into the calaboose over several days, the party said on Sunday.

Ninety-four of 102 municipalities in Kurdish-majority cities and towns are now administered by trustees, rather than their elected mayors. Authorities removed those mayors, elected in the last municipal elections in 2014, in the security crackdown that followed an attempted military coup in 2016.

"Elections are nearing," Erdogan said at a meeting of his AK Party (AKP) over the weekend, referring to the March 2019 local vote. "If those involved with terror come out of the ballot box, we shall appoint trustees without delay."
And from An Nahar:
Ottoman Turkish police detained dozens of people over alleged links to Kurdish bandidos bandidos turbans in an operation carried out in nine cities including Kurdish-majority Diyarbakir, the local prosecutor's office said Tuesday.

The police detained 90 out of 151 suspects they were seeking during the raids carried out at 183 addresses, and seized organizational documents and digital materials, the chief prosecutor's office in Diyarbakir said in a statement.

The suspects were accused of links to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), designated as a terror group by The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's colony in Asia Minor....
and its Western allies.

Last week, eight Ottoman Turkish soldiers were killed by an improvised bomb in southeastern Turkey in an attack which the government blamed on the PKK.

Bulgarian jailed for threatening attacks in Pakistan over Czech woman's arrest

with heroin in the country earlier this year.

The regional court in Plzen, west of Prague, found 21-year-old Nikolai Simeonov Ivanov guilty of sending the threats by email and text message to a television channel and news website in Pakistain.

The threats demanded the release of a Czech woman he knew, named as Tereza H, who had been arrested in January at Lahore airport.

"If Pakistain does not free within 48 hours Tereza, arrested with nine kilos of heroin, and does not let her take a plane to the Czech Republic, terrorist attacks will take place in Pakistain," said the message, read out in court by the prosecution.

Ivanov, who has lived in Plzen since 2016, was sentenced to 40 months in prison by the court, after admitting that he had sent the messages, adding that he had not realised the consequences of the threats.

"I did not think that anyone would take my messages seriously, especially since I included my telephone number and email address," said Ivanov, whose lawyer had asked for a suspended sentence.

The Plzen court said in its ruling that Ivanov should be expelled from the Czech Republic for eight years after his sentence is served.

Four dead after being swallowed by massive sinkhole in China
[NYPOST] Four people died when a massive sinkhole swallowed them in the Chinese city of Dazhou.

The ground ripped open around 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the city in Sichuan Province, leaving a 100-square-foot chasm by the time the earth settled.

Video posted to state-run social media shows the fateful moment, in which several people can be seen casually strolling through a city plaza before the ground opens and they plummet out of view.

Two victims who had recently been married died in state hospitals after being pulled from the pit, and the bodies of two other victims, a father and his son, were taken from the sinkhole Tuesday after being buried under more than 30 feet of rubble ‐ just beyond the reach of excavation equipment, CNN reported.

US, Israel root cause of global insecurity: Iran Parliament speaker
[PRESSTV] Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani says the United States and the Israeli regime are the root cause of growing insecurity in the world.

Larijani made the remarks in an address to the third meeting of the speakers of the Eurasia countries' parliaments in Antalya, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's colony in Asia Minor....
, on Tuesday.

He said the ongoing woes in the world are the result of the US unilateralism and called on all countries to boost their unity in the face of illegal and unilateral measures.

"Unilateral measures by powers such as the US in dealing with global issues have created great problems and challenges for the international community," the top Iranian parliamentarian said.

He added that the "selfish, unilateral and illegal" move by the US administration to withdraw from a multilateral nuclear agreement Iran signed with the P5+1 group of countries in 2015 and to re-impose cruel sanctions against the land of the Medes and the Persians showed "alarming signs" of the emergence of the threadbare dialogue of unilateralism in international relations.

US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
announced in May that Washington was pulling out of the nuclear agreement, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which lifted nuclear-related sanctions against Tehran in exchange for restrictions on Tehran's nuclear program. The deal had been signed between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council -- the United States, Britannia, La Belle France, Russia and China -- plus Germany in 2015.

A first round of American sanctions took effect in August, targeting Iran's access to the US dollar, metals trading, coal, industrial software, and auto sector. A second round, forthcoming on November 4, will be targeting Iran’s oil sales and its Central Bank.

Yemen Raids Kill 79 Rebels in 48 Hours
[AnNahar] Saudi-led coalition air strikes in Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
have killed almost 80 Huthi rebel fighters over 48 hours in the western province of Hodeida, military and medical sources said Tuesday.

The strikes on Hodeida, site of a vital port and target of a renewed coalition offensive, also left seven civilians dead, they said.

Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. intervened in Yemen at the head of a military coalition to support the government of President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi after the Huthis ousted it from the capital Sanaa and swathes of the country's north.

The coalition has used air power to oust the Iran-backed rebels from much of the country's south.

But the Huthis continue to hold Sanaa and the key Red Sea port of Hodeida.

Following the collapse of United Nations
...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks...
-backed talks in September, the coalition announced it was relaunching an assault on Hodeida city and its port.

The port is the main conduit for aid and commodities into Yemen, which is teetering on the brink of famine.

The fighting has since eased and the coalition has focused its raids on the city limits and other parts of the surrounding province.

However,
a person who gets all wrapped up in himself makes a mighty small package...
in the past 48 hours, coalition raids have hit two farms, two rebel training camps and an area close to the city's port, according to rebel military sources.

Rescue personnel and medical sources have confirmed that 79 rebel fighters were killed and their bodies taken to hospitals in the province.

Yemen's war has left 10,000 people dead, mostly civilians, since the coalition intervened in 2015, and triggered what the U.N. has labeled the world's worst humanitarian crisis.

"She has developed deformity of left hand in the last few months due to long standing rheumatoid arthritis. She can't use her left hand," he said.

"In addition, she has developed left frozen shoulder," he said, adding Zia was also suffering from neck and back pain and she is a diabetic.

Lawyers for Zia, who was Bangladesh's prime minister from 1991-1996 and 2001-2006, had argued that the government was putting her health at risk by refusing her specialised care in prison.

Curbing power theft through edicts: Clerics criticize Pakistani government move
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The newly elected government in Pakistain has invited ire from religious quarters for a peculiar reason.

The government has suggested exemption of 400 units of electric power per month to mosques where prayer leaders issue edict declaring power theft as forbidden [haram] in Islam and run a campaign in Friday sermons against power theft.

The government of Prime Minister Imran Khan
... aka Taliban Khan, who who convinced himself that playing cricket qualified him to lead a nuclear-armed nation with severe personality problems...
has come out with the novel idea to rid the country of the problem of power pilferage, which is particularly rife in the insurgency-hit tribal areas bordering Afghanistan and the rural areas in the other three provinces, causing huge revenue losses.

Though the offer is not yet implemented, it has drawn strong criticism especially from Islamic scholars who dubbed it an "open bribe" to prayer leaders.

"It is shameful that the government which came to power chanting slogans of making the country run like state of Medina, is now offering bribe to Ulema for petty causes which could have been resolved through technical means and improving management," said Mufti Mohammad Naeem, head of Jamia Binnoria.

Dr. Allama Mufti Raghib Hussain Naeemi, member of Council of Islamic Ideology and head of Jamia Naeemia Lahore, said: "Rulers must stop dragging Ulema for achieving political and administrative aims. Crimes can’t be controlled through edicts."

He was of the view that the menace of terrorism did not stop despite Islamic scholars using their platform to issue edicts against it.

Role in Qaeda operatives’ release returns to haunt Qatar Attorney General
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
’s Attorney General Ali bin Mohsen bin Fetais al-Marri continues to make headlines.

After reports of his financial corruption and accounts at the National Bank of Kuwait were exposed, his close relationship with two al-Qaeda leaders has returned to haunt him.

General Ali al-Marri managed to get them released from US prisons and ensured freedom of movement for them going against what was recommended in treaties.

The recent attention prompted by his financial scandals made the media leading to curiosity, which has brought to the fore many neglected stories such as this Washington Post article published in 2007.

This document revealed the Attorney General’s ties with his relative, Ali Saleh Kahla al-Marri, also known as Abdul Rahman al-Qatari.

Saleh al-Marri is not any ordinary mortal. He was locked away
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
in December 2001 in the United States following the terrorist hunt after 9/11.

He admitted to being a very important member of al-Qaeda and that he had planned new attacks, including using chemical weapons.

In his personal computer, federal agents found records called "Jihad Arena or Jihad Stadium" containing information on hydrogen cyanide. During his arrest, more than 1,000 fake credit card numbers and forged identity documents were seized.

Before coming to the United States, Saleh al-Marri worked for more than 10 years as a senior officer at Qatar Islamic Bank and as a senior accountant for the Qatari government.

In addition, an investigation by the US authorities proved that Saleh had been in contact with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the criminal mastermind of the September 11 attacks. He was finally released in 2015 after 13 years in detention.

RELATIVE CONNECTION
Here comes the role of Qatar’s Attorney General Ali bin Mohsen bin Fetais al-Marri. In fact, the decision to release a relative was not an American decision, but it took place after behind the scenes diplomatic action and after lengthy negotiations conducted by a "close friend" of the Attorney General.

According to reports in the American media, Bin Fetais used all his contacts so that his relative can be released. As a last resort, thanks to this assistance, a prominent al-Qaeda member was exchanged against US citizens (a couple) who were arbitrarily detained in Doha. What justified such an exchange isn’t yet known?

Equally surprising is the fact that when he arrived in Doha, in January 2015, Saleh al-Marri received a "hero’s welcome" by the Qatari authorities. He even received a phone call from the Qatari prime minister.

Former Qatari anchor and current board member of al-Jazeera, Elham Badr, congratulated Saleh al-Marri on Twitter on the return of al-Qaeda member.

The Attorney-General also played an active role in the release of Jarallah Saleh Mohammed Kahla al-Marri in 2008.

He is the younger brother of Saleh al-Yazid, who was arrested at Guantanamo after being caught at an al-Qaeda training camp in Afghanistan.

The Attorney-General succeeded in deporting him to Qatar on the condition that Jarallah does not leave Qatar forever. However,
there's no worse danger than telling a mother her baby is ugly...
in violation of this agreement with the United States, Jarallah traveled and the Qataris did not inform their American counterparts.

According to a confidential memo from the US ambassador in Doha, unveiled by WikiLeaks, there was US resentment over Qatari non-compliance with the agreements reached regarding the conditions related to the release of Jarallah.

In the confidential memo, one official was identified as Qatar’s Attorney-General Ali bin Fattis al-Marri.
