George Orwell’s 1949 dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four is no longer fiction. We are living it right now.
Google techies planned to massage Internet searches to emphasize correct thinking. A member of the so-called deep state, in an anonymous op-ed, brags that its "resistance" is undermining an elected president. The FBI, CIA, DOJ, and NSC were all weaponized in 2016 to ensure that the proper president would be elected ‐ the choice adjudicated by properly progressive ideology. Wearing a wire is now redefined as simply flipping on an iPhone and recording your boss, boy- or girlfriend, or co-workers.
But never has the reality that we are living in a surreal age been clearer than during the strange cycles of Christine Blasey Ford’s accusations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

According to some polls, about half the country believes that Brett Kavanaugh is now guilty of a crime committed 36 years ago at the age of 17.
That'd be the half of the country who voted for Hilly and knew as sure as Hilly really won that any of Trump's appointees must be guilty of some heinous crime, yet to be discovered. And their media cheerleaders.

Yea, verily, kids, it's Gehenna
Binge-watching your Netflix with manna.
All the snow from the Ark...
It's no walk in the park!
Oh, and internet? Oy, that antenna!
I’m very afraid this is another of those posts that will get me accused of being a "gender traitor."
That’s just fine. If you think a gender ‐ the fact that you were born with one piece of physical equipment ‐ demands your loyalty and forces your opinions to be the same as those people with the same piece of equipment, call me a traitor. Guilty as charged.
...It always ends up that way. Humans are individuals, not groups. When you empower the groups, you empower the worst in any group. The power-thirsty, the aggrieved, those who want to manipulate group-outrage for their own purposes.
It is the same with women. It’s lots of fun to read the more sentimental writers of centuries past (and the not so sentimental and totally un-ironic feminists of the last century) go on until your eyes bleed about women being kinder, gentler, softer, nicer.
Poppycock. Poppycock with powdered speciousness. Yes, women presented that way. This was the result of centuries where women had the subservient position.
The first one of you to open her mouth about how this is the injustice feminism needed to correct is going to go to the corner with the dunce cap, so help me bog.
...Marija Gymbutas was ‐ yes, I’m crossing Godwin, and I have a reason ‐ as much of a fabulist as Hitler, and about as good a scientist. She didn’t have armies at her disposal, but those who believe in her might in the end bring down civilization as effectively as the Nazis would have done, so I do not apologize for using the analogy. (If you don’t think convincing women that all men are their enemies, handicapping boys in school, running men out of the teaching profession, and generally making men guilty-until-proven-innocent is a civilization-killing meme, you need to go out and meet some real men and some real women.)
...We are now, if we want to be, equals.
The problem is that most of us don’t want to be equals.
...women have been sold on males-as-the-boogeyman and therefore they see evil intention and coordination and conspiracy behind males’ being people. Meet one abusive male, and you’ll go through life convinced that all men are like that. Does anyone do the same when meeting an abusive woman? I don’t know about you, but I’ve had bosses from hell in both genders. So, why is only one accused of being "oppressive"?
Because it’s the myth. And it’s a myth the power-hungry people who took charge of the feminist movement (one that initially only wanted equality under the law) are happy to perpetuate. It’s a myth every college, every entertainment gatekeeper cherishes.
[Zero Hedge] One day after it emerged that the IMF's record $50 billion bailout of Argentina is just not big enough, and the country will need an additional $3-$5 billion in additional rescue funds, news which sent the Argentine Peso tumbling, moments ago the country's economic problems took another turn for the worse, when Argentine Central Bank President Luis Caputo resigned on Tuesday morning just three months after taking office, as the country slides ever deeper in an economic crisis, coupled with the collapse of its currency, which lost half of its value this year.
As part of his emergency actions meant to stabilize the economy, Caputo pushed the benchmark interest rate up to 60% - despite forecasts of recession - and sold international reserves in a bid to stabilize the currency despite the IMF's warnings against. He also planned to eliminate a chunk of short-term central bank debt that had been contributing to volatility.
Caputo, a former Citigroup and Deutsche Bank trader who was Argentina's former finance minister under Macri, spent the majority of his time at the bank trying to stabilize the peso which has plunged 50% in 2018, the most in emerging markets. As the FT notes, "his appointment at the time prompted some critics to question the government's commitment to strengthening the central bank's independence."
As for the resignation, it couldn't have come at a worse time and follows one day after reports that Argentina was seeking even more bailout funds, suggesting that the country's "stabilization" process is not going quite as expected.
To be sure there were hints that his days were numbered, because as Bloomberg's Seb Boyd writes, there were reports that he had disagreements with finance minister Nicolas Dujovne and he didn't travel to Washington with the official delegation earlier this month.
However, Caputo disputed any professional reasons behind his decision, and the now former central banker said the decision was due to personal issues, according to Bloomberg...

Fortunately, farming techniques improved and grain yields went up, enabling the keeping of animals. That allowed us to eat steak while drinking beer.

so this is evidence for an evolutionary decrease in intelligence.....?
after the agricultural revolution was complete we were no longer "hunters" and "nomads" as we had been for the previous million or so years. so yes we started or de-evolution about that time and got small, weak and soft as a result

For a time in my life, I was a vegan and a member of PETA. Since then, I have changed a lot, but I still understand how animal rights activists think and what they want. In a nutshell, and quite simply, they think that meat eaters are moral monsters and they want to ensure that no humans eat meat. That being said, they're not afraid to think of new ways to accomplish their goals. An article in The Atlantic touting meat grown in laboratories as a substitute for meat from animals is a case in point.
Derek Thompson begins his article with the provocative claim, "There are two big truths about eating meat from animals."
If I didn't know better, I would've assumed that the two big truths are: 1. meat is delicious, and, 2. humans are designed to eat meat. But I know better, and Thompson drops that claim as a setup for a few of animal rights activists' favorite canards
...I find it interesting that the side opposed to GMOs is now pushing artificially constructed "meat." Make no mistake, though, just like their opposition to GMOs is because leftists are opposed to human flourishing, a push for fake meat is also a reflection of leftists disdain for humanity.

Clover instead of bluegrass...interesting. Do you know how many rabbits I could bait with that. Get'em nice and plump because, I have to eat at least two per meal to get full. Three if they are the size of Fiver.
The attempted political assassination of Brett Kavanaugh is bad for the country, but good for a Trumpian attitude toward American politics.
The last-minute ambush validates key assumptions of Trump’s supporters that fueled his rise and buttress him in office, no matter how rocky the ride has been or will become. At least three key premises have been underlined by tawdry events of the last couple of weeks.
First, that good character is no defense.
...Second, that the media is an unremitting political and cultural adversary.
...Third, that politics isn’t just rough-and-tumble; it’s red in tooth and claw
...Senate Democrats may delicately talk about the importance of norms and civility on Sunday shows, but watch how they act.
...If Trump’s attacks against the media are over-the-top and sometimes disgraceful, at least he understands the score.
He may not be a constitutionalist, but he will be faithful to his own side, and fiercely battle it out with his political opponents.

Democratic congressional nominee and self-proclaimed "Democratic Socialist," Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, has agreed to debate her Republican Congressional opponent, Dr. Anthony Pappas.
According to a press release from the Pappas campaign, the debate has been arranged and will be hosted by Queens Latino, a local spanish-speaking newspaper. The debate is tentatively set to occur at a school auditorium.
Pappas, who is an Associate Professor in Economics and Finance at St. John’s University’s Peter J. Robin College of Business, plans to confront Ocasio-Cortez on her endorsement of socialism. Any bets on how long into the debate before she accuses him of sexism and/or racism?

My fellow Americans: I feel like I need to say this.
A lot of you are angry. You're concerned about what's going on right now, and you're worried about the future. You're disgusted by the actions of your political opponents, and you feel hope and anticipation whenever there's the slightest possibility that their goals will be thwarted. You're filled with dread when they're winning, and you're lifted into paroxysms of joyous schadenfreude when they fail.
Good news: Those feelings are all you need! If there was ever a time in American history when it was worthwhile to pay attention to facts and evidence, those days are over. Thanks to the cutting-edge technology of the early 21st century, choosing to go with your gut has never been easier or more effective. Name the outrage, and you're just a click away from the corresponding mob.
[Wash Times] Radio host Rush Limbaugh has a stark message for the Republican Party’s leadership: "You can kiss goodbye holding the House and you can kiss goodbye holding the Senate" if Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination is derailed by vague accusations of teenage sexual misconduct.
The conservative host told millions of listeners on Monday that Republicans will pay a steep electoral price if they allow unsubstantiated claims dating back 35 years to sink President Trump’s nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court.
"Chairman Grassley has a job to do here because if he gives Democrats enough time they’ll produce a woman claiming to be Kavanaugh’s secret Russian wife who Trump paid to urinate on that bed in Moscow," Mr. Limbaugh joked. "If Grassley waits long enough, the Democrats will come up with the woman claiming to be Kavanaugh’s secret Russian wife ‐ he’s a bigamist, too, don’t you know ‐ and Trump paid Kavanaugh’s second wife to hire a bunch of prostitutes to urinate on the bed Obama slept in while in Moscow."
California professor Christine Blasey Ford’s accusations threw the Senate Judiciary Committee’s nomination process into chaos just prior to lawmakers’ first scheduled vote.

Skid, I believe if the Dems take the Senate (and probably even if they don't) Garland is the only possible Justice who could be approved by the Senate during this Trump administration.
[Hot Air] Both Breitbart and Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch are hearing the same thing. Lest there was any doubt, yes, the lawyer in question is a woman.
Documents obtained Monday by Breitbart News indicate Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) has enlisted an "experienced sex-crimes prosecutor" to handle questioning at Thursday’s hearing on the 36-year-old sexual misconduct allegations against Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
The prosecutor has not yet been publicly identified but the documents indicate she is a woman...
Ford’s legal team has been informed of the decision to use an "experienced sex-crimes prosecutor" at Thursday’s hearing, now scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
[Townhall] One of the attorneys for Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, Judge Brett Kavanaugh's first sexual assault accuser, sent a letter late Monday night to Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley expressing concerns about the format of Thursday's hearings.
In his letter, attorney Michael Bromwich expressed concern over an experienced sex crimes prosecutor coming in to help with the hearings. More than anything, Bromwich immediately demanded a copy of the prosecutor's resume after arguing that there is no need for him or her to be present. His argument: neither Ford nor Kavanaugh are on trial.
Bromwich also said Ford's team is not convinced that she will receive a "fair and credible" process because Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said Ford's accusations are a "smear campaign" put together by the Democrats as a means of keeping Kavanaugh from being confirmed.

Did she get reassigned to a different part of the Swamp?
[AlMasdar] A German court sentenced a Syrian national to life in prison on Monday after he was found to have committed war crimes in his native country.
According to the official website of the Dusseldorf Court, the judge sentenced the Syrian national, Ibrahim A., 43, to life in prison for the war crimes he committed during his stint as a militia commander in northern Syria.
"As a commander he used lawlessness resulting from chaos of the civil war and his de facto control of parts of Aleppo for criminal gains, plundering and kidnapping people whom he tortured or allowed to be tortured by his militiamen," the statement read.
Sputnik News reported that the convict amassed a fortune by claiming ransom, Sherlocks found. He was enjugged Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit! in Germany after a survivor recognized him.
Ibrahim denies the charges. The court said the sentence can be appealed.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Who murdered and injured dozens at the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s military parade a few days ago in the Ahwaz region in Iran: The Arab region that has revolted against Tehran’s oppressive authorities for years?
The attack – as it is known – was shocking as it was captured live on television. It killed 29 people and injured many others.
The enemies of the ruling Khomeini regime are many on both the domestic and foreign levels.
There is the Mojahedin-e Khalq organization, the largest real Iranian opposition network. There is also of course the Arab-Ahwazi opposition in all it colors, those who adopt the military option and those who reject it and those who want complete independence and those who reject it, while settling fora formula that guarantees the Ahwazis’ identity and interests.
The Arab Struggle Movement for the Liberation of Ahwaz is one of the Ahwazi operating factions that adopted the operation, just like the mysterious ISIS. Of course, there is the opposition inside Iran from within the Republic’s tent, the sons of the Green Movement and last but not least, there are the Kurds. We here note the recent shelling of the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s headquarters in Iraq by Iranian missiles.
WHY IS ISIS’S RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ATTACK DOUBTED?
Because the Iranian regime’s accusation of it is flawed with the suspicion of political exploitation of the Ahwaz attack, especially as Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif was quick to hint that Saudi Arabia and other regional countries, as he described them, and of course the US stand behind the attack through ISIS.
And as they said: “The Ahvazi struggle movement” or perhaps the Kurds. What’s important is that they are “agents” of Riyadh or Washington or Abu Dhabi. This is the Iranian regime’s narrative especially towards Riyadh as the daily newspaper Kayhan’s headline, and its editor-in-chief Hossein Shariatmadari, who is Supreme Leader Khamenei’s consultant, vowed retaliate in Riyadh!
Of course, accusing Riyadh is nonsense, and so is accusing Abu Dhabi. They’ve never done this before, neither with Tehran nor with a country other than Iran, and they will not do it now and will not do it in the future. This terrorist militant behavior is the nature of the Iranian regime and its affiliates. May God have mercy on the soul of Rafiq Hariri as now the whole world knows who killed him and his comrades on that sad Lebanese day!
Tehran’s regime is cornered due to American pressure, and President Trump promised to do more. He will dedicate a part of his UN speech to talk about the Iranian regime.
Trump’s friend and attorney, New York’s former mayor Rudy Giuliani said during a meeting a few days ago that American sanctions on Iran will lead to a “successful revolution.”
Did the demons of the Revolutionary Guard in the dark secret world plan this operation?
We cannot go in this direction, although the Revolutionary Guard experts have previously sacrificed Shiites in terror operations in Iraq to make bigger political gains. The real threat on the Iranian regime is the collapse of the economy and the people’s anger at the regime, including the oppressed Ahwazis.
The real enemy of Tehran’s rulers is their evil policies, and not any other party.

[KTLA] A Salinas man was charged with four felony counts after being found with two homemade bombs in his vehicle at a traffic stop in Brea on Tuesday night, authorities said.
Saleh Ali, 47, was charged Thursday with intent to unlawfully make a destructive device, two counts of possession of a destructive device, and the sale and transportation of a destructive device, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office announced Friday. But they were Peace IEDs. Made with Love Shrapnel.
The DA’s office described the bombs as “improvised explosive devices,” and said they were “containers covered in shrapnel.”
The devices were taken by an Orange County sheriff’s bomb squad and Ali was arrested and put in Orange County Jail. Police said Thursday his bail was set at $500,000.
If convicted as charged, Ali will receive a maximum sentence of 10 years in state prison.
He is due in court for a pre-trial hearing on Friday, Sept. 28.

No evidence they are willing to tell us, or no evidence they are willing to see?
Name not found in the ISIS table of organization seems to have become the meaning of that. All troubled Muslims who self-radicalize via the internet, or simply give in to the voices in their heads and run amok now fall into that category.

[DAWN] The Kremlin on Monday accused Israeli pilots of "premeditated actions" over the downing of a Russian plane in Syria last week, warning it will harm relations between the two countries.
"According to information of our military experts, the reason (behind the downing) were premeditated actions by Israeli pilots which certainly cannot but harm our relations," Kremlin front man Dmitry Peskov told journalists.
Peskov's remarks followed an announcement by Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu that Moscow will be sending an advanced S-300 air defence system to the Syrian military as well as jamming communications of any military planes that attack Syria from over the Mediterranean.
On September 17, a Russian Il-20 plane was hit by a Syrian S-200 air defence missile when it was landing following strikes by Israeli F-16 planes of western Syria. Moscow blamed the friendly fire incident on Israeli pilots using the larger Russian plane as "cover". Peskov said the new measures were decided on to boost the security of its troops in Syria.
"Russia, in this case, is acting in its interests only, these actions are not directed against third countries, but towards defending our own military," he said.
Can’t let their clients take the blame for abject stupidity, so they’ll blame the Jews for drinking the ocean dry. Image of a radar screen at the link with circles and arrows...
[AlMasdar] The Russian Defence Ministry blamed the Israeli Air Force for using a Russia Il-20 plane as cover, spokesperson Igor Konashenkov said at a briefing in Moscow on Monday.
Data captured by Russia’s S-400 system in Syria proves Israeli jets were responsible for the downing the Russian plane, the Defense Ministry said, adding that the Syrian missile changed its course shortly before hitting the Il-20.
Data gleaned from the S-400 air defense system deployed at the Russian Khmeimim air base in Syria’s Latakia province has revealed that the Syrian anti-air missile was, in fact, targeting an Israeli F-16 jet before it abruptly altered its course and eventually hit the Russian aircraft.
This, and the position of all the aircraft at the moment of the September 17 incident, proves that an Israeli jet was de facto using the larger Il-20 as a cover, the Russian Defense Ministry front man, Major General Igor Konashenkov told journalists at Monday’s news briefing.
The radar images revealed at the briefing "clearly showed the direction of the flight of the S-200 missile launched by the Syrian air defense system, as well as the locations of the Russian and Israeli aircraft," Konashenkov said, adding that "it is quite clear that the missile was targeting the Israeli jet."
However, it was a brave man who first ate an oyster... the missile then suddenly changed its course and "locked on a target with a larger radar cross-section and slower speed," which was the Russian reconnaissance plane coming in for landing.
The Israeli jet, which effectively used the Il-20 as a cover from the attack, then also abruptly changed its altitude and the flight direction, Konashenkov said.

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Afghan Military claims that the Arclight airstrikes in western Farah province have left at least 46 Death Eaters dead while 38 thousand kgs of explosives have been destroyed.
The 207th Zafar Corps of the Afghan Military in the West in a statement said the airstrikes were carried out in the vicinity of Khak Safid district.
The statement further added that 46 Death Eaters were killed and 6 others were maimed during the same airstrikes.
According to 207 Zafar Corps, at least five vehicles, 2 cycle of violences, and 38 thousand kilograms of explosives were also destroyed during air raids.
The anti-government armed myrmidon groups including Talibs have not commented regarding the report so far.
Farah was among the relatively calm provinces in West of Afghanistan but the security situation of the province has tanked during the recent years.
The Talibs are active in some districts of the province and often carry out attacks against the government institutions and security forces.

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Commander of Kabul Garrison Command General Murad Ali has urged the international community to increase pressures on countries which are supporting terrorism.
Speaking during a presser in Kabul, Gen. Murad said terrorism is a regional and international phenomenon, emphasizing that the international community should unite in the fight against terrorism and increase pressures on countries supporting the terror groups.
Gen. Murad further added that the ongoing conflict has been imposed on Afghanistan and the Afghans are in the frontline of the fight against terrorism.
This comes as the Afghan and U.S. officials have long been claiming that the Death Eater and terrorist groups, particularly the Taliban ...Arabic for students... and the notorious Haqqani terrorist network, use their safe havens in Pakistain to plan and coordinate attacks in Afghanistan.
However, denial ain't just a river in Egypt... the Pak officials have repeatedly rejected the claims of the Afghan and U.S. officials.
In the meantime, Gen. Murad hailed the national defense and security forces for their efforts in maintaining better security during the Day of Ashura.

How about cleaning up your own mess?
Oh, and keep your polio at home!
[PhilStar] More security personnel have been deployed in parts of central Mindanao after charges were filed against two Islamic militants implicated in recent bomb attacks.
Police spokesman Graciano Mijares said police in Maguindanao have also asked village leaders to help stop attacks by sympathizers. He said, "We are not taking chances. Our personnel on the ground have also been maximizing their anti-terror intelligence gathering initiatives."
Police have filed multiple murder and multiple frustrated murder charges against more than a dozen Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters for the fatal August 28 and September 2 bombings in Isulan town in Sultan Kudarat. Among those named in the complaint are Esmael Abdulmalik, most known as Abu Toraife, and bomb-maker Salahuddin Hassan.
Abu Toraife is leader of one of three factions in the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters. Hassan, meanwhile, was trained in making improvised explosive devices by slain Malaysian terrorist Zulkifli bin Hir, better known as Marwan. The two were last spotted holding out in Shariff Saidona town in Maguindanao.
Other than Abu Toraife's faction, the BIFF also has two other factions, one led by Imam Karialan and the other by Imam Bongos.
Local government units in central Mindanao have stepped up efforts against the BIFF, prompted by the bombings in Isulan, in General Santos City and in Midsayap town in North Cotabato in the past three weeks. The IED attack in Barangay Apopong, General Santos City on September 16 hurt eight people, one of them a three-year-old child.
[Asia Times] The funeral service for the late senator John McCain, which was held at Washington’s National Cathedral on September 1, was notable not so much because of the 2,500 mourners in attendance but because of the conspicuous absence of US President Donald Trump.
The mourners paying their respects to the veteran conservative politician, who died on August 25 aged 81, included former US presidents Bill Clinton, George W Bush and Barack Obama, as well as Amazon tycoon Jeff Bezos, comedian Jay Leno, former secretary of state Madeleine Albright, and former vice-presidents Dick Cheney and Al Gore. While the latter two were possibly as far apart politically as can be and ultimately represented the opposite bookends of the American political arena, they were still part of a political continuum that included the whole spectrum of the American power Establishment.
That Trump was absent from this assembly was not a passing trivial occurrence. Those that had assembled to pay their last respects to one of their own was the American political Establishment. Trump’s absence was simply a brazen reminder that he was not one of them.

[Iraq News] Two Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... members were sentenced to death over killing 12 people in Anbar, a criminal court decreed on Monday.
In a statement, Abdul Sattar al-Bayraqdar, spokesperson for the High Judicial Council, said "Dhi Qar Criminal Court reviewed cases of two convicts and sentenced them to death after they killed 12 civilians in Annah and al-Jazeera regions in Anbar."
The court, according to the statement, "reviewed a case of one of the convicts and sentenced him to life for taking part in exploding houses in al-Wajihiya region in Diyala."
Last week, court sentenced to death by hanging Ismail al-Eithawy, a deputy to Islamic State leader His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi ...the head of ISIS, or what remains of it, and a veteran of the Abu Graib jailhouse. Looks like a new messiah to bajillions of Moslems, like just another dead-eyed mass murder to the rest of us. So far he has been killed at least four times, though not yet by a stake through the heart... over his involvement in terrorist acts. Earlier this month, a man was sentenced to death six times over his involvement in mass killings and kidnappings in the capital Baghdad.
Anbar (IraqiNews.com) Five Islamic State members were killed in a security campaign in desert regions, west of Anbar, a leader from the mobilization forces in the province said on Monday.
In remarks to Almaalomah website, Qutri al-Obeidi said “security troops, backed by the army jets managed to kill five Islamic State members in an operation in Wadi Houran region, west of Anbar.”
Troops, according to Obeidi, “managed also destroy 10 motorbikes used by Islamic State members in attacking troops.”
Moreover, the Security Media Center said three militants were killed near the Iraqi-Syrian borders.
In a statement, the center said “al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces) killed three militants and destroyed three motorbikes in Akashat region, near the borders between Iraq and Syria.”

[PRESSTV] Fearless Leader of the Islamic Revolution ...Iran's doddering head theocrat... Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei ...the successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini and the actual dictator of Iran... says Iran will severely punish those "cowardly" elements who were behind a recent terrorist attack in the southwestern Iranian city of Ahvaz.
Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks in a meeting in Tehran on Monday with a group of athletes and medal winners of the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Terrorists on Saturday shot up a crowd of people during a military parade in Ahvaz, killing 25 military personnel and civilians ‐ including women and kiddies ‐ and wounding at least 68 others.
Masses of Iranian people and government officials on Monday participated in a funeral procession for the victims of the terrorist attack in Ahvaz.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the bitter incident "once again showed that the land of the Medes and the Persians is faced with many enemies on its honorable path to progress and excellence."
Describing the attack on defenseless people as an act of cowardice, the Leader noted, "According to [available] reports, this cowardly act has been perpetrated by the same people who are saved by Americans whenever they face a difficult situation in Iraq and Syria" and whose operations are being financed by Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... and the United Arab Emirates.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei noted that every medal won by Iranian sportsmen and sportswomen makes freedom-seeking nations of the world happy while vexing the arrogant front.
"The arrogant [powers] are angered by victory of the land of the Medes and the Persians in any field. Therefore, your victory is indeed a victory for the [Iranian] nation and a defeat for the extended front of Iran's enemies," the Leader added.

[Ynet] Iran has locked away ... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not... 22 people in connection with a deadly attack on a military parade in the southern city of Ahvaz last week that Tehran blamed on the United States and its regional allies, the Intelligence Ministry was quoted as saying on Monday.
"Some 22 people involved in the attack in Ahvaz have been identified and arrested ... weapons, exclusive material and communication equipment were seized in the house that belonged to the five-member terrorist group that carried out the attack," a ministry statement said, according to the semi-official Tasnim news agency.
Gunmen fired on a viewing stand where Iranian officials had gathered on Saturday to watch an annual parade marking the start of Iran's 1980-88 war with Iraq. Twelve members of Iran's elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were among the 25 dead.
[PRESSTV] Yemeni army forces, supported by allied fighters from Popular Committees, have intercepted and targeted an unmanned aerial vehicle, belonging to the Saudi-led military coalition, as it was flying in the skies over the country’s strategic western province of Hudaydah.
An unnamed Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic... military source said Yemeni air defense forces and their allies shot down the drone as it was on a reconnaissance mission north of the al-Durayhimi district on Monday afternoon.

[PRESSTV] A total of five suspected Death Eaters and one Indian soldier have been killed in fierce fighting in Kashmire over the past two days, the Indian army says, amid an escalation of violence in the disputed territory following the cancelation of high-level talks between New Delhi and Islamabad.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, an Indian army front man said three Death Eaters and one Indian soldier were killed in a shootout along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmire on Monday.
The front man also said two other Death Eaters had earlier been killed in a shootout which began on Sunday after government troops noticed suspicious movement near the LoC ‐ the de facto border that separates the disputed Kashmire region between nuclear-armed rivals Pakistain and India.
The Indian army announced that the operation was still in progress.
The fatalities took place days after New Delhi pulled the plug on a meeting between its foreign minister and her Pak counterpart set for next week on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, just 24 hours after saying it would go ahead.

[NYPOST] In a big win for the little people, Philadelphia last week agreed to rein in its civil-forfeiture program and pay $3 million to innocents whose property it wrongly confiscated.
Attorneys with the Institute for Justice sued in 2014 over policies that let law enforcement take property "suspected" of being tied to crime ‐ even when the owner clearly wasn’t part of the crime.
The lead plaintiffs were Markela and Chris Sourovelis, whose home was seized after their son was busted for selling $40 worth of drugs outside it. Neither parent ever did anything wrong. In fact, they were driving their son to a court-ordered rehab program the day the police took their home.
From 2002 to 2014, Philadelphia’s forfeiture machine pulled in over $72 million, vs. $102 million for the state’s 66 other counties.
The city agreed to put new limits on seizures, hold faster hearings for challenges and impose judicial oversight earlier in the process. And to stop sending the proceeds to the DA’s Office and Police Department. (Forfeitures covered more than a fifth of the budget for the DA’s Office as it seized 300-plus homes and other properties each year.)
"I’m glad that there is finally a measure of justice for people like me," Chris Sourovelis said. "No one in Philadelphia should ever have to go through the nightmare my family faced."

How did this idea ever make it past due process rules?
[AlAhram] Egypt’s Court of Cassation upheld the life imprisonment and death penalty sentences Monday handed to 135 people over the assaults on security forces in the town of Kerdasa in 2013.
The court rejected the appeals presented by the defendants over a criminal court sentence from July 2017, which saw 20 defendants sentenced to death, life sentences handed out to 80 defendants.
The attack on the Kerdasa cop shoppe, which saw 12 coppers and two civilians killed and their bodies mutilated, followed the forced and dispersal of sit-ins in support of ousted Islamist president Mohammed Morsi in Cairo in August 2013 that left hundreds dead and sparked nationwide unrest.
The case has been making its rounds in the court system since 2014, with a criminal court initially sentencing 188 defendants, some in absentia, to death.
[PRESSTV] Israeli soldiers have rubbed out a Paleostinian and maimed some 50 others who had held a protesting rally along the northern coast of the besieged Gazoo Strip in a bid to break the decade-long blockade on the impoverished sliver.
According to a brief statement by Gazoo Health Ministry, the protester, whose identity has not been disclosed yet, lost his life after Israeli troops began shooting live rounds and tear gas canisters at crowds of Gazooks, who had held a rally against the prolonged siege along the coast of al-Wahe district in the northwestern borders of the enclave.
Hundreds of Gazook demonstrators had gathered in the area on Monday afternoon to participate in a boat protest setting off from the Gazoo seaport against the siege, but Israeli navy obstructed the protest’s way off the shore by shooting at them.
The International Committee for Breaking the Siege, which organized the march, called upon the "free world to save the Gazoo Strip," whose fishermen are under crippling fishing limits.
Since inhabitants of Gazoo began staging weekly border protest rallies on March 30, the Israeli regime’s forces have killed more than 180 people and maimed thousands of others.
Paleostinian Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) member taking part in the violent "March of Return" protests on the northern Gazoo border fence near Kibbutz Zikim was rubbed out by IDF fire Monday, Gazoo health officials said.
The IDF said thousands had taken part in the demonstration, throwing burning tires, rocks and bombs at the troops on the other side of the border fence. Soldiers responded with riot dispersal measures according to rules of engagement, a military front man said.
In addition, around 10 Paleostinian boats sailed off the coast to challenge the blockade over the strip, drawing warning shots from the Israeli navy. There were no reports of Paleostinian casualties.

[ToloNews] A policeman was killed, and four others were maimed in a roadside mine blast in northern Balkh province on Sunday afternoon, local officials confirmed on Monday.
The blast took place in Shortepa district of the province after a police vehicle hit a roadside mine, the district governor, Mohammad Karim said.
"The condition of the maimed people is good, and they were taken to the hospital quickly," he said.
However, women are made to be loved, not understood... no group including the Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... has grabbed credit for the blast.
[FREEP] The bankrupt, increasingly impoverished, reliably Democrat, Detroit ... ruled by Democrats since 1962. A city whose Golden Age included the Purple Gang... Police Department confirmed on Monday that it had fired an officer and opened an investigation into his conduct after a picture he posted to Snapchat with a racially-charged message went viral.
Sean Bostwick, 27, who worked in the 12th Precinct, posted a photo of himself in his uniform with the caption "Another night to Rangel (sic) up these zoo animals." He posted the photo directly before starting his shift on Sunday.
Police chief James Craig said in a presser on Monday that Bostwick admitted to posting the photo. "He expressed remorse" and claimed the post was misinterpreted but Craig said that his explanation "didn't pass muster." Neither does his firing by dickless administrators. No sticks or stones were involved.

[DAWN] An 18-year-old girl was beheaded along with her 21-year-old boyfriend by her father and uncle in what the police are calling yet another incident of honour killing, DawnNews TV reported on Monday.
The incident, that took place in a small village in Attock district, transpired when the man arrived at the girl's house to meet her, police said. Soon after, the girl's father Masood and her uncle Waheed walked in and, after tying the victims with ropes, beheaded them with a sharp object.
The police have tossed in the clink Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'! both suspects and recovered the murder weapon as well, Sub-inspector of Saddar cop shoppe Asif Khan told DawnNews TV. [IsraelTimes] EU to set up legal entity allowing European businesses to continue trading with Tehran while avoiding penalties from US aimed at pressuring Islamic Theocratic Republic
The European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... said Monday its members would set up a payment system to allow oil companies and businesses to continue trading with Iran in a bid to evade sanctions after the US withdrew from a nuclear agreement.

I'm aware that 'bless their hearts' is a cute Southern coquilism meant to diplomatically couch disagreement with one's opinions. It's always irritated me, for some reason; haughty, perhaps, as if John Kerry grew up sucking on mint juleps or something. I'm a proponent of more direct and unambiguous speech, like 'suck on my big hairy donkey balls, you're about to get nailed in the ass and love it like the French philosophers you are, and hope you love the bill for NATO I'm gonna shove up your ass next month', cuz that's what's gonna happen. Granted it's crude, but unmistakable in intent, though probably more Philly than Boston...

I wonder what blackmail fodder the Iranians have on the EUSSR politburo?
The same question should be asked about the US political class. The Iran Review Act passed with an overwhelming majority in Congress; only one Senator voted nay.
This vote was the a de facto ratification of the Iran deal with not really plausible deniability.
The only material disadvantage compared to real ratification was the President's prerogative to withdraw from the deal without Congressional approval.
But then, Trump wasn't supposed to happen.
The US political class played a charade, knowing that their political consensus was unpopular among the electorate.

The US Department of the Treasury is the most sophisticated intelligence operation we have. To think that somehow European companies can avoid its overview and trade with Iran without consequence is absurd. The big European companies know it, and have already left Iran.
[NationalInterest] Syrian government forces and their allies stand ready to roll into the province of Idlib and extinguish the last major rebel stronghold in the country. Russian air attacks pummeled Idlib in early September. Today’s announcement of a Russo-Turkish agreement for a buffer zone in Idlib appears to have postponed a full-scale attack on the province, but it is likely to be only a temporary reprieve . The Syrian civil war is in its endgame.
Yet at this late hour, holding few cards, the United States has doubled down on its Syrian intervention. Why?
America’s Syria policy is now in dire straits. On September 3 President Trump made a typical Twitter threat, warning Bashar al-Assad not to "recklessly attack Idlib Province." This bluster was paired with a far more serious announcement. The administration’s newly-appointed "representative for Syria engagement," retired diplomat James Jeffrey, told reporters that the United States had redefined its Syria goals to include the withdrawal of all Iranians and Iranian proxy forces from Syria and the "establishment of a stable, non-threatening government acceptable to all Syrians and the international community." Jeffrey added: "That means we are not in a hurry ."

Yet at this late hour, holding few cards, the United States has doubled down on its Syrian intervention. Why?
Because the cold war is back and USA can't allow Russian-Iranian alliance a free hand in Syria.

I've never understood why we tolerate these dolts. We could remove him anytime we wanted. Sure there would be lots of pretty explosions because we still refuse to put up microwave beam weapons, but we could do it.

Globalists are the only ones trying to bring back the Cold War. Remember Obama's reset button? All those times he accommodated Russia?
The Islamists are on OUR side. We're supporting them against Syria's government.
A free hand in Syria? What's so important there? Why are we spending massive amounts of our money that could be better spent on our own people? Why is it so important that we need to ally with head-chopping Islamists? What's the prize at the end?

The US would like to see Syria's Al-Hasakah Governorate (Kurdish: Parêzgeha Hesîçe,) incorporated into Iraqi Kurdistan. Hasakah, "located in the far north-east corner of Syria and distinguished by its fertile lands, plentiful water, picturesque nature... Prior to the Syrian Civil War nearly half of Syria's oil was extracted from the region." After Israel, it would provide the US a second ally in the Levant.

Re: #6 & #7 -- Exactly! A Free and prosperous Kurdistan would be nice , but hardly practical unless we can build a Coalition and conquer all of the neighboring countries. ...So after we nuke Assad then what? Do we go in and do the full Nuremberg Trial circus with all of his supporters? If we don't then why kill Assad?
Sometimes a problem is like a forest fire in the wilderness -- just standing back and letting it 'burn itself out' is the only pragmatic (if ruthless) response.
[PRESSTV] Staff members at the United Nations ...where theory meets practice and practice loses... Relief and Works Agency for Paleostine Refugees (UNRWA) have gone on strike in the besieged Gazoo Strip to protest against job losses and US funding cuts.
Schools, clinics, and food distributions were halted on Monday as UNRWA's 13,000 Paleostinian employees in Gazoo went on a one-day strike.
The strike closed more than 250 UNRWA schools in Gazoo. More than 200,000 Paleostinians attend its schools in the coastal enclave.
Amal al-Batsh, deputy head of the UNRWA Employees Union, said in a statement that a protest took place outside the agency's Gazoo headquarters.
"The strike comes in light of the (UNRWA) administration's lack of responsiveness to the demands of the employees' union and their insistence on not solving their problems," the statement read.
Separately, UNRWA's front man Chris Gunness said the agency regretted the strike. "We regret any action that negatively impacts the services we provide to refugees, particularly in a place like Gazoo where after a more than decade of blockade they have suffered enough."
The UN agency has been suffering from a financial crisis which was exacerbated after the administration of US President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... decided to cut all support.
UNRWA says the funding deficit caused by the Trump administration's withdrawal of support is so severe cuts are unavoidable. More than 250 jobs have been cut in Gazoo and the West Bank so far, while hundreds of full-time roles have become part-time.

But who cares who blows up with those bombs, right?
[PRESSTV] In a highly controversial move, Italia’s government has issued a hard-line security decree that will make it easier to expel refugees and strip them of Italian citizenship.
Italia’s far-right Interior Minister Matteo Salvini said on his Facebook page that the Italian council of ministers had unanimously approved of the plan on Monday.
The new bill is "a step forward to make Italia safer," he said, adding that it would help Italia "be stronger in the fight against the mafia and [people] smugglers, reduce the costs of excessive immigration ... and give the police greater powers."
The so-called "Salvini Decree" also stipulates six criteria based on which asylum seekers can be awarded humanitarian protection, a provisional status and a lower level of asylum based on Italian rather than international law.
Among the criteria was urgent medical need or whether the applicant was the victim of a natural disaster, according to Salvini.
The Italian minister further said those seeking refugee status would have their requests suspended if they were "considered socially dangerous or convicted in the first instance" of crimes, while their applications were processed.
Salvini claimed that the decree streamlined the rules for processing asylum requests and brought Italia into line with other EU countries.
Italia’s parliament has 60 days to vote the bill into law.
The controversial bill has been heavily criticized in recent weeks, including by members of the anti-establishment Five Star Movement which governs in coalition with Salvini's far-right League.
Salvini, who is also deputy prime minister, has adopted a hard-line stance on immigration and refugees since the coalition came to power in June, refusing to allow ships carrying refugees and asylum seekers rescued in the Mediterranean to dock at Italian ports.
Last month, Rome refrained from letting a group of refugees disembark from a coastguard ship, until other EU states agreed to accept some of them.
Salvini, known for his tough stance on immigration, has said that Italia "cannot take one more" asylum seeker.

[DAWN] Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, while commenting on recent inflammatory remarks made by the Indian army chief, on Monday said that Pakistain and India can either "infiltrate and weaken each other" or "try to convince each other".
He asserted that no discussion between Pakistain and India would be carried out without the mention of Kashmire, "which has always been the bone of contention between India and Pakistain".
"One way to go about this issue is to infiltrate each other's country and weaken it. But a better way to do this is to try and convince each other [towards peace]," the information minister said while pointing out that the two countries have been fighting fruitlessly for the past 70 years.
"Prime Minister Imran Khan ... aka Taliban Khan, who ain't the sharpest bulb on the national tree... 's vision is to provide better living opportunities for the people of Pakistain and India, and bring them above the poverty line. Everyone knows that countries do not succeed, it's the regions which do," Chaudhry said.
"The China-Pakistain Economic Corridor will bring an economic boom [in the region]. Pakistain finds itself between two big markets ‐ India and China," the minister observed.
"However, a good lie finds more believers than a bad truth... if India continues with this behaviour, we know how to respond in kind," the information minister said while commenting on the recent rise in hostility from the Indian government, which started with the cancellation of a meeting between Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Wormtongue Qureshi and his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj.

[Ynet] Russia's foreign ministry summoned Norway's ambassador on Monday to protest against the arrest of a Russian citizen in Oslo on suspicion of spying while Norwegian authorities sealed off what was described as a "compromised room" in parliament.

[ARABNEWS] French state-owned bank Bpifrance has abandoned its plan to set up a mechanism to aid French companies trading with Iran, in the face of US sanctions against Tehran.
Earlier this year, the bank had said it was working on a project to finance French companies that wished to export goods to Iran despite US sanctions.
"It’s put on hold," said Nicolas Dufourcq, Bpifrance’s chief executive. "Conditions are not met (...) Sanctions are punitive for companies."
Bpifrance was working on establishing euro-denominated export guarantees to Iranian buyers of French goods and services. By structuring the financing through vehicles without any US link, Bpifrance thought it was possible to avoid the extraterritorial reach of US legislation.
Dufourcq’s latest comments show how the scope of the sanctions is making trade with Iran increasingly difficult for European companies.

[PRESSTV] Lebanese President Michel Aoun ...president of Leb, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah ...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory... ... says the Tel Aviv regime is attempting to create division in the Middle East, and split the region along social and religious fault lines.
"In the Middle East Israel is trying to carve up the region into a patchwork of secular and religious entities, quasi-states, in a bid to put together a sectarian puzzle," Aoun said in an exclusive interview with French daily newspaper Le Figaro published on Monday.
He then described the Israeli regime as a threat to his country’s illusory sovereignty and blamed it for continuously violating Paleostinian rights.
The Lebanese president also urged Europe ...also known as Moslem Lebensraum... to "support Leb’s effort to ensure the safe return of Syrian refugees to their homes," and to "contribute more to the United Nations ...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks... Relief and Works Agency for Paleostine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA)."
Aoun further noted that the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement has weapons in its possession due to the ongoing Syrian crisis and the status quo of the Middle East region.
"Hezbollah doesn’t play any military role inside Leb, and doesn’t carry out any act of provocation along the border with occupied lands. The party’s arms ownership is linked to the situation in the Middle East and the Syrian conflict," he pointed out.
Aoun also dismissed allegations that Hezbollah had a veto on strategic decisions on the national Lebanese level.

[AnNahar] Two migrants colonists, a Syrian and an Algerian national found in possession of firearms were locked away Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try! in the Bosnian capital at the weekend, police said Monday.
It was the first time that police found weapons with migrants colonists who have been passing through the Balkan country in growing numbers since the start of the year as they head towards western Europe.
"For the time being we do not know what they were planning to do with (the weapons)," a police spokeswoman told AFP.
"The two men tried to flee when police asked them for documents but they were quickly arrested," spokeswoman Suvada Kuldija said.
The arrests were carried out on Sunday evening.
Police searched several locations linked to the two where they found and seized a "rifle, four guns, a silencer and more than 100 bullets of different calibres," the spokeswoman added.
The 34-year-old Syrian national was officially registered with the authorities in charge of migrants colonists, while police were verifying the status of the 23-year-old Algerian.
Since the start of the year, 15,000 migrants colonists trying to reach western Europe ...also known as Moslem Lebensraum... have been registered in Bosnia, a minister said Sunday.
So far the influx does not compare with the hundreds of thousands who arrived in Europe via the 'Balkans Route' in 2015 and 2016, fleeing war and poverty across Africa and the Middle East.
The route was effectively closed in March 2016.
Now, most of the migrants colonists, who enter Bosnia from Serbia or Montenegro, stay for a few days in Sarajevo before heading towards the northwestern town of Bihac.
Bihac is on the border with Europan Union member Croatia, where they try to sneak into the bloc.
Since the 1990s wars that marked the collapse of Yugoslavia, the Balkans have been considered a centre for arms trafficking.
Jihadists who have carried out attacks in western Europe in recent years are also believed to have passed through.
[PRESSTV] Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani says terrorism and its root causes are to blame for the existing crisis across the Middle East and are hindering progress of Moslem countries.
"The threat of terrorism and its root causes such as the Takfiri ...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed... ideology, which is promoted by certain countries, have caused crisis for the entire region and are a big obstacle in the path of Moslem countries' growth and progress," Shamkhani said in a meeting with Azerbaijan's Interior Minister Ramil Usubov and his accompanying delegation in Tehran on Monday.
He lashed out at the United States and the Israeli regime for pursuing policies aimed at sowing discord among neighboring countries.
"It is necessary to maintain vigilance and increase interactions and constructive dialogues to neutralize destructive efforts by ill-wishers who aim to create skepticism and rift among regional countries," the senior Iranian security official said.
Shamkhani added that illegal sanctions imposed by the United States have been turned into a tool in the hands of US President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... to take Dire Revenge on opposing countries.
"However, if you can't say something nice about a person some juicy gossip will go well... the past experience has showed that such actions are not effective but only lead to further isolation of the US among the international community," Shamkhani pointed out.
The Azerbaijani minister, for his part, condemned a recent terrorist attack in the southwestern Iranian city of Ahvaz and expressed his sympathy with the Iranian government and people over the bitter incident.
Usubov said Iran and Azerbaijan are facing common threats emanating from the creation of Takfiri terrorist groups and their measures.

[MEMRI] Abu Abdullah Brittani: "The first time I went into battle, I remember it was shocking, really, because I hadn't seen rockets getting smacked at me and my people before. The force of it, the kabooms, the lights, the sound... But then you get used to it, and it's what you came for, so it's just an internal battle after that, and this is when the famous saying of Jihad of the soul being the greater Jihad... This I when the Jihad of the soul starts, because you not only have to make sure that you're sincere, and keep renewing your intentions, you have to make sure also that you don't have the feeling of too much pride, and too much feeling of being like a superhero, and actually remember there's a reality where you could die. What state are you going to die in? Your friends, your brothers with you could die... Are you going to have to have the cool head to help them out, or are you going to panic? There are other things that need to come to the forefront, not just excitement. But yeah, it was quite exciting at the same time, I'm not going to lie to you. It was enjoyable because we're young men, and we came to fight and this is what we see as our path to Paradise.
"We want to go to Paradise, and when you go to the frontline, you see the bombs and everything, it doesn't really scare you. It makes you happy in a way. There's a mixture of the natural fear, and the happiness to maybe meet Allah, and the black-eyed virgins...
"I cover my face because I'm a cowardly butt weasel at the end of the day, they don't treat mujahideen today... The global community and the media, they don't treat mujahideen today like they used to. They used to say the mujahideen are freedom fighters, whereas today we are considered to be criminals, terrorists, whatever suits their agenda. For me, I know fully well that a lot of oppression is happening against my people and I have to take part in the defense of my people, but the rest of the world isn't going to understand that, so that means I'm going to be limited in my travels, my family may be put under scrutiny, so there's no need to take the risk. I may as well try to stay anonymous, and live as comfortably as possible in all circumstances.
"I feel like in general, Moslems are treated unfairly, so I don't have so much worry about me as an individual, how the system is going to have a stigma against me, and is going to be set up to my disadvantage. But at the end of the day, it's just part of the path. You're fighting a war, and Allah tells us that they are our enemies, the disbelievers, so they're going to always try to make our lives as difficult as possible. We just do what we can. Yeah, I know I'm treated unfairly, but that's life, everyone at some point in their life is treated unfairly."

[ToloNews] At least 10 civilians were allegedly killed in a foreign forces operation in Tagab district of Kapisa province on Sunday night, local officials said Monday.
Mahfoz Safi, the provincial council’s deputy chief, said the incident occurred on Sunday night in the Badrab village during a foreign forces operation against Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... and as a result non-combatants were killed.
According to Safi, children and women were also among the victims and three others were maimed in the incident.
Safi said that all the victims were residents of the area.
However, we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by... Resolute Support rejected the claims of civilian casualties and in a statement to TOLOnews said: "During an Afghan army operation in Kapisa, the Afghan forces came under fire from a local mobilization militia. The Afghan army requested air support. US helicopters were present to provide the support and immediately came under fire from the local militia and returned fire in self-defense, resulting in the wounding of six militia. As the fog of war lifted and it became clear the militia had fired in error, the maimed militia members were airlifted and they are currently receiving treatment in a US hospital. We have no indication of non-combatant casualties," said Commander Grant Neeley, a US Forces ‐ Afghanistan front man.
Meanwhile, ...back at the pie fight, Bella went down under the weight of the custard... the Kapisa provincial governor’s front man confirmed an operation was carried out in the Tagab district but did not confirm the killing of civilians.
Meanwhile a member of Maidan Wardak provincial council said 13 members of one family were killed in a security forces operation in Jaghatu district in the province on Sunday night.
"During this operation, eight members of a family were killed in just an Arclight airstrike," Sharif Hotak, a member of the provincial council said.
Maidan Wardak officials rejected the claims of civilian casualties and said that the operation was launched against a Taliban prison in which eight security forces were freed from the jail.
Ministry of Defense also said the Afghan National Army launched the operation against Taliban in which the group suffered heavy fatalities.
Security forces said they destroyed a Taliban prison and released a number of soldiers who had been held in the illegal prison for the last two months.
"800 Taliban fighters had attacked us. In that attack, I was injured and then tossed in the clink Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please! by Taliban," Fazl Subhan, a freed soldier said.
"We were seven soldiers, I was maimed and then the enemy arrested me," Moalem Khan, another freed soldier said.
[DAWN] The Beautiful Downtown Peshawar ...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire. High Court (PHC) on Monday granted bail to two men suspected to be involved in the murder of Charnjeet Singh, a social activist and prominent member of the Sikh community in Peshawar.
Singh had been on his way home from his shop when faceless myrmidonsshot up him, killing him on the spot. The attackers immediately fled after having committed the crime.
The incident had occurred in the Scheme Chowk area on Kohat Road within the limits of Inquilab cop shoppe.
The Sikh activist had been murdered on May 29, subsequently, two men ‐ Shehryar and Tariq ‐ were tossed in the clink Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages! on June 14 and 21, respectively. However, there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened... police have not been able to prove the charges levelled against the suspects.
While speaking to media following the Monday's hearing, the defendants' lawyer said Singh's family did not record any statement against them and thus the court has given the orders for Tariq and Shehryar on bail.

[DAWN] When some 146 world leaders gather at the United Nations ...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships... General Assembly in New York this week, they are expected to discuss issues of international peace and security as several conflicts from Syria to Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic... rage on, defying any resolution.
The Pak delegation will be led by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Wormtongue Qureshi who arrives in New York, which houses the UN headquarters, from Washington on Sunday night. It will be the new Pak government’s first senior level interaction with the United Nations.
However, women are made to be loved, not understood... the much-heralded India-Pakistain foreign ministers’ meeting was called off by New Delhi citing an incident in occupied Kashmire.
According to Pak officials, a busy programme awaits the foreign minister who will attend at least 40 events and hold about two dozen bilateral meetings.
The highlight of his visit will, of course, be his speech in the General Assembly on Sept 29 in which he will set out the new government’s priorities and its position and policy on key international and regional issues including the situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmire, particularly in the light of UN Human Rights Council’s report which has cited India of violations. New Delhi bristles at the mention of Indian Kashmiree and human rights ...which often include carefully measured allowances of freedom at the convenience of the state... violations there.
Pakistain’s foreign minister is expected to deliver his speech in Urdu language.

[Iraq News] Eight Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. At least 349 civilians have been killed in Yemen's Houthi-held city of Hodeidah since June 13 when Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... , the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Yemeni government forces launched an offensive to retake the strategic seaport.
Citing numbers collated by the monitoring group, ACLED (Armed Conflict Location and Event Data), Save the Children said on Monday that Hodeidah accounted for 51 percent of all civilian casualties between June and the end of August.
At least 685 civilians had been killed across the country during that period, the organization added.
Fighting in Hodeidah - the main gateway for imports of relief supplies and commercial goods into the country - escalated on June 13 when the Saudi-UAE alliance launched a wide-ranging operation to retake the city from the Houthi ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ... rebels.
Riyadh and Abu Dhabi see Hodeidah as the main entry point for weapons for the Houthis and have accused their regional rival Iran of sending missiles to the rebels, a charge Tehran has denied.
In the first five months of this year, there were an average 44 civilian casualties every month in Hodeidah.

They're civilians if their bodies are found without a weapon.
[Asia Times] It contains 36,000 Chinese characters and condemns the United States for starting the trade war. US President Donald Trump will probably dismiss Beijing’s white paper in little more than a 120-character tweet.
Released on Monday by the official Xinhua news agency, Facts About the China-US Trade Dispute and China’s Stance, is the first comprehensive document from President Xi Jinping’s administration on the new economic Cold War. Link to announcement of White Paper
“Intimidation” and “bullying” are used frequently while Washington has been accused of “contradicting itself and constantly challenging China.” This, in turn, has caused “serious damage” to trade relations between the world’s two largest economies.
“[The US] has brazenly preached unilateralism, protectionism and economic hegemony, making false accusations against many countries and regions, particularly China,” the government document stated.
“It has intimidated other countries through economic measures, such as imposing tariffs and attempted to impose its own interests on China through extreme pressure. The key, however, lies in how to enhance mutual trust, promote cooperation, and manage differences,” the white paper concluded.
But according to the official newspaper of the country’s ruling Communist Party, the People’s Daily, the world’s second-largest economy is being punished for “hard work and innovation.”
“After more than a century of hard work, China has returned to the center of the world stage, and this is the basic fact we must observe in the China-US trade friction,” the People’s Daily stated in a commentary.
“Such a large size, such a heavy thing, can’t be hidden by ‘being low key,’ just like an elephant can’t hide behind a sapling,” it added.
Certainly, not an “elephant” holding a white paper containing 36,000 Chinese characters.

Somebody Wins and somebody Loses. That's WHY they call it a War.
The Purpose of a war, its reason for existing, is to make somebody LOSE. To take everything he has and then kill him. To take is choices away from him, to cut his options down to Zero. To back him into a corner and stick a knife in him.
Bullying is too nice a word. Intimidation is too. That's just the beginning. The word "Lose" doesn't really cover it. You want him dead. Turn out the Light and lock the door.
The UN laughed? They giggled because they didn't understand.

Is that you, Hemingway? As far as I can tell, the purpose of war is to force the other guy to surrender. Not just go through the motions, but to completely give up, permanently accepting the new reality. If some die along the way and some of their stuff turns to rubble, that’s ok. But killing is not the objective, merely one tool in the toolbox. And genocide is definitely not the objective.
So no, you don’t want him dead. How can he surrender and learn to live with the new reality if he is dead?

The truth, as always, is somewhere in between - kill enough or maybe a bit more of your opponents to make the rest of them surrender & lay down arms under your conditions.
Maldives' President Abdulla Yameen has conceded defeat after a surprise election win for the opposition in a poll that was billed as a test for democracy in the troubled island nation.
"The citizens of the Maldives had their say ... and I accept that result," Yameen said in a televised speech on Monday.
The 59-year-old, who presided over a five-year crackdown on dissent, said he met with president-elect Ibrahim Mohammed Solih at the president's office in Male shortly before his speech.
"I have congratulated him," Yameen said.
The remarks came hours after the National Elections Commission confirmed a decisive victory for Solih, a long-time member of parliament, who ran representing a coalition of four parties whose leaders are either in jail or exile.
Solih won with 58 percent of the vote, or 134,616 ballots, while Yameen garnered 96,142 votes or 42 percent, the official count showed.
Turnout in the election, in which more than a quarter million people were eligible to vote, was more than 89 percent.

[AnNahar] A cholera outbreak in north-eastern Nigeria has claimed nearly 100 lives over the past two weeks, the United Nations ...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships... said Saturday.
More than 3,000 cholera cases have been recorded in the states of Yobe and Borno in a region that is also grappling with a Boko Haram ... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... insurgency, it said.
"The cumulative number of recorded cases in both states currently stands at 3,126 including 97 deaths," the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said.
The outbreak was declared two weeks ago in restive Borno, where hundreds of thousands of displaced people live in camps.
Boko Haram has intensified attacks, especially against military targets in recent months.
On Wednesday, the UN reported that more than 500 people had died from cholera in the Lake Chad region since the start of the year, representing the worst outbreak to hit the area in four years.
It said more than six million people could be affected by the outbreak without urgent action to control it.
Expected floods and heavy rains were "an ideal environment for the outbreak to spread", OCHA warned.
The Lake Chad region straddles parts of Nigeria, Cameroon ...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there... , Chad and Niger, which are also having to deal with a jihadist insurgency.
OCHA said Nigeria, Africa's most populous nation, was the worst-hit with 24,000 cases overall, and said immediate action was needed to stem the disease.
Cholera is caused by a bacterium transmitted through contaminated food or drinking water. It causes acute diarrhoea, with children particularly at risk.
Water-borne diseases are a constant threat in the Lake Chad region because of a lack of adequate sanitation as well as stagnant groundwater during the rainy season.
[ARABNEWS] Swedish truck maker AB Volvo has stopped assembling trucks in Iran because US sanctions are preventing it from being paid, a front man for the company said on Monday.
The sanctions against Iran, reimposed on Aug. 6 by US President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... after his decision to pull out of a nuclear deal with Tehran, have forced companies across Europe ...also known as Moslem Lebensraum... to reconsider their investments there.
Volvo front man Fredrik Ivarsson said the trucks group could no longer get paid for any parts it shipped and had therefore decided not to operate in Iran in another blow to the country’s car industry, which unlike the energy and banking sectors, had managed to sign contracts with top European firms.
"With all these sanctions and everything that the United States put (in place) ... the bank system doesn’t work in Iran. We can’t get paid ... So for now we don’t have any business (in Iran)," Ivarsson told Rooters by telephone.
Before the sanctions were reimposed, Volvo had expressed an ambition for Iran to become its main export hub for the Gulf region and North Africa markets.
The European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... has implemented a law to shield its companies, but the sanctions have deterred banks from doing business with Iranian firms as Washington can cut any that facilitate such transactions off from the US financial system.
Volvo was working with Saipa Diesel, part of Iran’s second-largest automaker SAIPA, which was assembling the Swedish firm’s heavy-duty trucks from kits shipped to Iran.
