Masturbating female trespasser booted from frat
Police have been unable to locate a woman who entered the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity house without permission on Thursday and began to masturbate on a couch.

While fraternity members were eating in the dining room, a woman entered the house's living room, took off her clothes and started masturbating, said LSA junior Dan Nye, the president of the Washtenaw Avenue fraternity.

No one saw the woman enter the house or knew how she got in. Nye said she could have entered through the front door, which was left propped open while it was being repaired.

Fraternity members asked the woman to leave the house, but she refused and continued masturbating for about half an hour, Nye said.

When members asked the woman if she was all right, she casually replied that she was fine, he said. The woman was talking on her cell phone at one point, said LSA sophomore Adam Bayard, a member of the fraternity.

She walked out of the front door wearing only a thigh-length black coat after a fraternity member called the police, Nye said. When police arrived minutes later, the woman had already left.

According to a police report, the woman was between 20 and 30 years old, had short brown hair and appeared to be under the influence of drugs.

"Obviously, she was very disturbed," Nye said. "It was not how a normal person would respond to people."

The woman told fraternity members that her name was Melissa and she was a student at Eastern Michigan University, according to the police report.

Fraternity members said they will throw out two couches in the living room because of the incident, Nye said.

Police said the break-in appeared to be an isolated incident.
Let's hope it doesn't spawn an epidemic of such things.

Wow, Dean's List frat boys aren't they? Over 30 minutes to call a three-digit number? Not one of the frats offered to assist the young lady in her mission to orgasm and hurry it on up?

They tossed the couches instead of selling them and missed a true YouTube moment of fame. Sure this wasn't the Friends of Dorothy chapter?

Exactly -- how ugly did she have to be to have college guys asking her to stop and go away? Normally you have to pay for that sort of entertainment, no?

And I would think that the video + eBaying the couches would have payed for the next few keggers ... makes me worry about the up-coming generation of leaders. :-(

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Today's Idiot
No joke: U.S. comedian wrecks rare Ferrari
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Maybe Eddie Griffin Who? should leave the driving to his chauffeur. The comedian destroyed a rare million-dollar Enzo Ferrari on Monday when he crashed it into a barricade while promoting a movie. He was unhurt in the low-speed incident, at Irwindale Speedway, about 20 miles (32 km) east of Los Angeles.
How do you destroy a car in a low speed accident?
"The brother's good at karate and all the rest of that, but the brother can't drive," Griffin told reporters.
The 'brother' needs to stop speaking about the 'brother' in the third person.
He was practicing for a celebrity charity racing event tied to his upcoming film, "Redline."
Not on my 'to see' list.
The car, one of just 400 manufactured, belonged to the film's producer, Daniel Sadek. Sadek estimated that the car was worth $1.2 million, and seemed philosophical about the loss, saying he was just happy that Griffin was unharmed.
I'd love to hear what he was saying in private.
The real-estate investor has put up his own money for the $26 million picture, and allowed one of his two $200,000 Porsche Carreras to be destroyed for a scene in it.
Times must be rough for this guy.

School Bus Converted to Bake Matzos
SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. - The first hint that something was amiss came in the middle of the night when the neighbor called to report a smell of smoke. Police investigated and found the blaze, but it wasn't your typical fire. It was an old school bus that had been converted into a supersized oven for Passover matzos — complete with a smokestack, exhaust fans and working fire. A building inspector said that while the bakery bus wasn't nearly up to code, it was "very creative."

The derelict red-and-white bus, connected by a plywood passageway to a single-family house, was out of sight of casual passers-by in a Hasidic Jewish neighborhood and had apparently long escaped the notice of authorities. Its owner, Rabbi Aaron Winternitz, said Monday he had been making the unleavened bread there for three Passovers and was eager to do the same this year, with Passover coming up in a week.

He said that the oven-in-a-bus was his invention, and that he purposely bought an old school bus because "school buses are made strong and safe." He said the bus he purchased had also been used as a home and as a race-car carrier.

But a police spokesman in Spring Valley, a New York City suburb, described the setup as "a tinderbox." And Manny Carmona, Spring Valley's deputy building inspector, told Winternitz on Monday that he has to move the bakery bus away at least 10 feet from the house, disconnect the unauthorized gas line that was fueling the oven and come up with documents to show that a licensed engineer had overseen the project.

"It's too close. If something happens, it could spread to the house," Carmona said. He acknowledged, after Winternitz took him inside, that the bus oven was "not as hazardous as it looks." "The fire is contained properly," he said. "It looks safe, but you can't go on looks." He said he would hold off on any summonses to see if Winternitz could meet his obligations and would work with him to see if baking, perhaps with wood fueling the flames, could continue.

Police Sgt. Lou Scorziello said police traced the smoke to the bus at about 3 a.m. Friday. The oven, he said, "was up and running." Given the illegal gas line, "There certainly was the potential for an explosion." He said the back door of the bus, formerly the emergency exit, was the oven door. "All the seats had been removed and the whole inside was an oven," he said.

Winternitz, who said he lived with his wife and three children in the light pink two-story house that fronted the bus, brushed aside any safety concerns.

"Everything was always done properly," he said. The rabbi said he made about 100 pounds of crispy matzo, in 10-inch square crackers, each Passover for his 50-member Congregation Mivtzar Hatorah. Observant Jews eat matzo during Passover week to illustrate how the Jews had no time to let their bread rise as they fled slavery in Egypt.

They also sometimes get rid of their leavened bread by burning it in ceremonial fires just before Passover, and in New York City, with its large Jewish population, the Fire Department issues a reminder to units every year about the ritual. Two years ago, the Fire Department said a fire that killed three Orthodox Jewish boys occurred because a gas stove burner was left on for three days, possibly to conform with a strict religious custom that forbids such activities as turning on lights or stoves during holy days.

Winternitz said that if he can't make his matzo this season, his congregation will have to eat store-bought matzo. Although he found the regulatory attention unwelcome, the rabbi said he understood why reporters were interested.

"It's something new that you never saw," he said. "Inventions are exciting. People are curious."

Caribbean-Latin America
Mexican governor orders seizure of video game
The governor of the Mexican state of Chihuahua has ordered that copies of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 be confiscated, according to a report on Spanish-language site El Diario.

Set in Juárez, Mexico, and El Paso, Texas, GRAW2 follows an elite combat unit battling Mexican rebels in the year 2014. Earlier this month, the mayor of Juárez, a city in Chihuahua on the Mexican-American border, criticized the game sharply, saying it instilled poor values and portrayed his town's people as violent.

According to the report, Chihuahua Governor José Reyes Baeza Terrazas considers the game an insult not only to the city of Juárez, but to the entire country. Currently, authorities are gathering information on where the game is being sold, reproduced, and distributed in preparation for a seizure campaign, El Diario reported.

As of press time, an Ubisoft representative had not responded to GameSpot's request for comment.
He was wallowing on the floor in the orgasmic expectation of doubling their sales.

#1  When you're lost in the rain in Juarez
An' it's easter time too
An' your gravity fails
An' negativity don't pull you thru
Don't put on any airs
When you're down on rue morgue avenue
They got some hungry women there
An' they really make a mess outta you.

Now if you see saint Annie
Please tell her thanks a lot
I cannot move
My fingers are all in a knot
I don't have the strength
To get up an' take another shot
An' my best friend, my doctor
Won't even say what it is i have got.

Sweet Melinda
The peasants call her the goddess of gloom
She speaks good english
An' she invites you up into her room
An' you're so kind
An' careful not to go to her too soon
An' she takes your voice
An' leaves you howlin' at the moon.

Up on housin' project hill
It's either fortune or fame
You must pick one or the other
Tho neither of them are to be what they claim
If you're lookin' to get silly
You better go back to from where you came
Because the cops don't need you
An' man they expect the same.

Now all the authorities
They just stand around an' boast
How they blackmailed the sergeant at arms
Into leavin' his post
An' pickin' up Angel who
Just arrived here from the coast
Who looked so fine at first
But left lookin' just a ghost.

I started out on burgundy
But soon hit the harder stuff
Everybody said they'd stand behind me
When the game got rough
But the joke was on me
There was nobody even there to bluff
I'm goin' back to New York city
I do believe i've had enough.

#3  According to the report, Chihuahua Governor José Reyes Baeza Terrazas considers the game an insult not only to the city of Juárez, but to the entire country.

Of course, he doesn't think its an insult that his 'governing class' dumps millions of their people upon their neighbor because their utterly corrupt system of government and economics are focused upon maintaining power rather than improving the lot of the citizens. You've got to have some honor first before you can be 'insulted' El Jefe.

#1  Bearing in mind that polls are essentially a form of wanking at this point, if Fred Thompson were to come out and announce he'd probably be second in the race after McCain, or third after McCain and Giuliani at worst. The more I look, the better Fred T. gets. He might be the right guy, if he can get organized.
Posted by: Jonathan || 03/27/2007 16:57 Comments || Top||

#2  Personally, I don't have anything against Fred Thompson. I don't know him. I'll be interested to hear his views on issues.

I would say, though, that he WOULD be a very good choice if the goal is to COMPLETELY alienate Europe-which would arguably be a good thing. They would have a field day with another former actor becoming President of the USA. And Russia? They certainly wouldn't regard us any more seriously or respectfully.

Thompson Takes Bites Out of Giuliani, Romney
From http://www.nysunpolitics.com

The latest USA Today/Gallup poll, conducted Friday through Sunday, on the presidential race is out, and it's a humdinger. It's hard to say what the headline even is. Here are a few tries, though:

* Romney's support drops to within the margin of error of not existing (that's 3% support in a poll where the margin of error is 3%).

* Giuliani's support drops 13 percentage points since the last USA Today/Gallup poll, March 2-4 (that's gotta hurt).

* Fred Thompson (not running, by the way) is now the No. 3 in the GOP field, at 12%.

Ultimately, however, I'll go with the headline I've chosen above: "Thompson Takes Bites Out of Giuliani, Romney." While the usual caveats apply about the ridiculous earliness of all of these polls — and, now, the fact that voters know precisely zero about Fred Thompson past what they know of him from "Law & Order" — this is a clear data point on the question of just who is hurt by a Thompson candidacy.

And that is, as I predicted, Mitt Romney (who dropped from 8% to 3% when Thompson was added to the poll), and as I did not in any way predict, Rudy Giuliani, who, again, lost 13 percentage points.

So, why the hit to Mr. Romney? Well, his candidacy has been foundering anyway, and now Mr. Thompson could present an acceptable social-conservative alternative (as I wrote in this column). That all but negates the entire rationale of a Romney candidacy (i.e. "I'm the real conservative!" [-- a paraphrase])

Why the hit to Mr. Giuliani? Off the top of my head, I'd say conservative voters who primarily want a winner and someone who will be tough on national security might see Mr. Thompson as being as good as the former mayor, but without a lot of the baggage (social-issue positions and ex wives).

Now, some more caveats. There are other, state-by-state polls that tell a slightly different story. In New Hampshire, an ARG polls shows Mr. Giuliani dipping, possibly because of Mr. Thompson. But an ARG poll of likely Iowa caucus-goers shows Newt Gingrich as the biggest loser (with his poll numbers cut more than in half), and not a big change for Mr. Giuliani. In Ohio, a Quinnipiac poll also showed Mr. Gingrich as the biggest loser.

What does it all mean? Partly, that polls this early swing wildly based on name recognition. But also that — and this may end up being quite important as the race wears on — John McCain's numbers do not seem to be as susceptible to wild fluctuations as those of some of the other candidates. Conservatives, and Republicans generally, don't like him. But they basically know who he is, they know what they thought of him yesterday, and they know what they'll think of him tomorrow.

India-Pakistan
Infineon may join consortium for $4 bn chip fab in India
Hindustan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (HSMC) is set to announce the technology partners for its $4-billion semiconductor chip fabrication plants.

This is the first announcement after the notification of the semiconductor policy on March 22. The announcement of SemIndia’s $3-billion fab unit in Hyderabad, which is being set up in collaboration with Advanced Micro Devices, the world’s second-largest chip-maker, was made before the policy was unveiled.

Interestingly, the HSMC fabs will be based on technology from a consortium of European companies that could include at least one of the semiconductor biggies — Infineon and ST Microelectronics.

While confirming that the technological co-operation would come through a consortium, Devendra Verma, promoter, HSMC, refused to divulge the names of the partners, owing to a non-disclosure agreement.

The names will be made public on Wednesday in the presence of Union IT minister Dayanidhi Maran. Infineon is Europe’s largest and the world’s second-largest manufacturer of semiconductor products for the automotive and communications sectors. The $10-billion ST Micro, too, is a strong player in similar areas, with a leadership position in several segments. It was the number one supplier of camera modules for mobile phones in 2006, apart from semiconductors for set-top boxes and power-management devices.

It was also the third-biggest semiconductor supplier in China in 2005.

Verma is currently talking to at least five states for setting up the fabs. The location will be finalised in four weeks from the announcement of the tech co-operation, he said.
The company will focus on chipsets and other semiconductor products for the domestic electronics industry, mainly mobile phones, direct-to-home TV set-top boxes, automotive and smart cards.

---------------------------

India to have three Fabs: Maran

he semiconductor policy will come into effect from Thursday, according to the minister for communications and IT, Dayanidhi Maran.

The minister said India will have three Fabs and added that 10 semiconductor ecosystems would be coming up in the country. “The Semiconductor policy will be a closed one, and will have a cap on March, 31, 2010, by which we want to establish 3 Fabs and 10 ecosystems, as this government wants to see action on the ground,” he said.

A consortium led by SemIndia is constructing a Fab, India’s first, in the outskirts of Hyderabad.

The world’s second largest chip maker AMD, along with the government and SemIndia, a newly-formed consortium of NRI entrepreneurs, on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding to invest $3 billion in India’s first chip fabrication plant in the next 2-3 years. AMD will be the technology supplier for the facility and may pick up a stake in SemIndia.

Maran said he would write to Craig Barrett, the chairman of the board at Intel Corp., to reopen the negotiations for setting up a Fab in India. The company had earlier cancelled its plans to set up a Fab in India for the want of a Semiconductor policy. Instead it went to Israel.

#1  According to the policy document, participating companies will have to set up in Special Economic Zones to qualify for special tax incentives and tax holidays. The subsidy will be in the form of tax breaks and interest-free loans.

The threshold investment limit for manufacturing products such as storage devices, micro and nano technology products and organic light emitting diodes, as well as assembling such products, has been set at $220 million.

If the unit is located outside the zones, the incentive would total 25 percent of the capital subsidy for the first 10 years; countervailing duty on capital goods would be exempted.

Announcing the policy—which will extend through 2010—IT minister Dayanidhi Maran said India can expect over $10 billion dollars of foreign direct investment. "A typical fab requires a minimum $3 billion investment. Our country has the ecosystem to take two to three such fabs," he said.

Urging the states to come up with investment-friendly policies for such companies, Maran said the center would also support technology clusters, which have proven successful in China.

#3  The list of leading companies doing important chip design work in India does not end with Intel, IBM, and the others that announced new investments last fall. Dallas-based Texas Instruments Inc. (TI) was among the first to start semiconductor design work in India, along with ST Microelectronics, based in Geneva, and AMD, headquartered in Sunnyvale, Calif. It has been designing mission-critical chips on the subcontinent for some years. A notable example was the single-chip phone that TI unveiled last August in Delhi, which it codeveloped with Freescale Semiconductor India Pvt. Ltd., in Noida. Freescale/India came up with the phone's MXC (Mobile Extreme Convergence) architecture. It also contributed to development of the Neptune platform used in Motorola's Razr and Rokr cellphones.

A major development was the announcement in November that HCL Technologies, India's top technology services firm, would do design work on IBM's Power Architecture family of semiconductor devices—chips that are customized for diverse hardware products, including Microsoft's Xbox game consoles and high-definition television receivers.

Cisco's team in Bangalore claims it already represents the world's largest ongoing developer of custom-designed application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs). "We started with ASIC verification in 1999, but today we are designing platforms, which will go in the Cisco products to be rolled out in two years," Johnny Bastian, a senior manager of engineering at Cisco India, told IEEE Spectrum. "We began with 3 million gates [on a chip] and have now gone up to 45 million gates."

IBM already has Power Architecture design centers in Bangalore, as well as in China, Germany, Israel, Japan, and Switzerland, but this is the first time that it has outsourced such work. It's expected that an HCL design center in Chennai (Madras) will grow from barely more than a couple of dozen employees at present to as many as 1000 within two years.

At the end of November, AMD chief executive Hector de J. Ruiz announced that his company would join a consortium and supply technology to build India's first semiconductor plant, which is expected to cost about US $3 billion. Obtaining foreign investment in the venture, called SemIndia, was a high priority for the government—China already has close to 50 fabs—and relations with Intel soured when its chairman, Craig R. Barrett, dragged his feet. Not to be outdone, however, Intel announced on 5 December that it would invest upward of $1 billion in India over the next five years, more than it has spent in the country in the last decade.

Intel already operates its largest chip design center outside the United States in Bangalore, where it employs more than 2500. About $800 million could go for expanded R&D operations in India and $250 million into venture capital projects. Broadcom also has a thriving R&D facility in Bangalore and has announced it eventually will outsource production of chips for mobile phones to SemIndia. Its chief technology officer, Henry Samuele, said on a visit to India on 1 December that the performance of the company's Indian teams had surpassed his expectations.

Vigilante attack sheep guard British village
Anyone among you thinking of paying a visit to the Gloucestershire village of Leighterton with the intention of burgling the good burghers of that little piece of rural England might want to pick another target, The Sun suggests.

That's because Leighterton is protected by 60-year-old retired farmworker Keith Clifford and his herd of "highly-trained" attack sheep. And in case you're willing to laugh off the threat posed by the 24 ovine vigilantes, bear in mind that Keith has raised them from birth to strike without mercy - a fact attested by The Sun's promotion of the woolly Ninjas from "flock" to ruthless wolf-style "pack".

Keith's dog Birdie does the recon work, then orders in the pack to eliminate the threat. Keith said: "Normally sheep run away if they are frightened, but these don't. They are more than capable of handling themselves."

Mercifully, the sheep-pack has not yet been used in anger. The thought of a couple of behoodied ne'er-do-wells being torn limb from limb in a lanoline-lubricated killing frenzy is too horrible to contemplate.

Texas signs new self-defense by gun law
I see Concealed Carry as an excellent deterent to Sudden Jihadi Syndrome. Also, the civil protection extended towards those that exercise their freedom is much needed.

DALLAS (Reuters) - Criminals in Texas beware: if you threaten someone in their car or office, the citizens of this state where guns are ubiquitous have the right to shoot you dead.

Governor Rick Perry's office said on Tuesday that he had signed a new law that expands Texans' existing right to use deadly force to defend themselves "without retreat" in their homes, cars and workplaces.

"The right to defend oneself from an imminent act of harm should not only be clearly defined in Texas law, but is intuitive to human nature," Perry said on his Web site.

The new law, which takes affect on September 1, extends an exception to a statute that required a person to retreat in the face of a criminal attack. The exception was in the case of an intruder unlawfully entering a person's home.

The law extends a person's right to stand their ground beyond the home to vehicles and workplaces, allowing the reasonable use of deadly force, the governor's office said.

Anti-Mormon DVD given to 18,000 homes in AZ
A ministry opposed to Mormonism distributed 18,000 copies of a DVD to homes across the state on Sunday as part of a nationwide effort to persuade members to leave the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The distribution of 15,000 DVDs in Mesa, Gilbert and Tempe was timed for the last weekend before the church holds its General Conference in Salt Lake City on Saturday and Sunday, said Jim Robertson, executive director of Concerned Christians, an organization largely made up of former Mormons.

Another 2,000 copies of Jesus Christ/Joseph Smith were distributed in LDS-heavy Snowflake and Taylor, and 1,000 were distributed in Tucson.

"We've found this works very well. We need to step out in faith to do it," said Robertson, a former Mormon who founded the organization 35 years ago. "We're not against the Mormon people. If we hated the Mormons, we'd let them stew in their own juices."

But Don Evans, an LDS spokesman in Arizona, said Robertson is on a lifetime crusade to attack his church.

"It won't faze members of our church one iota," Evans said. "They're strong enough in their own beliefs. It's water off their backs."

Dave Udall, a Mesa attorney and former church spokesman, said Concerned Christians was denounced in the early 1980s by the National Conference of Christians and Jews and by the Anti-Defamation League of B'nai Brith after showing the film The God Makers at the Mesa Convention Center.

"I'm disappointed. We need tolerance in our community, and religious tolerance is one of those things we need to do," Udall said.

He said Concerned Christians pickets the annual Easter Pageant produced at the church's Arizona Temple in Mesa, handing out literature, but the LDS Church opposes religious conflict. The pageant begins tonight.

"The attitude of the church is there is freedom of religion," Evans said. "Our church would not go after another religion."

But Robertson said the DVD was produced in response to aggressive Mormon missionary work, saying, "they're stealing sheep" from other religions.

"I don't like the fact that they lie to people to get them into the church," he said. "They're not telling people what the church is all about until after they have them hook, line and sinker."

Utah-based Living Hope Ministries coordinated the nationwide distribution of the DVDs, Robertson said.

Bob Betts, Concerned Christians' office manager, said the DVD contrasts the teachings of Jesus Christ with those of Joseph Smith. He said about two dozen southeast Valley residents upset by the DVD called the ministry's office Monday morning to complain.

He said about 100 volunteers, mostly from churches, distributed the DVD but another 35,000 were not distributed because of a lack of manpower.

"The Mormons are madder than hornets," Betts said.

Evans said that Mormons believe in Jesus Christ but also believe that church founder Joseph Smith was a prophet.

#7  Where are those golden plates again translated by Smith with a "scrying stone" in a hat? Written in "reformed Egyptian". Ok, right. From what I understand of the DVD, it takes LDS apart at the seams through simple lessons in history and genetics (Smith claimed Native Americans were descendants of ancient Hebrews).

I don't see anything hateful about this. LDS is a complete shame and speaking of hate, one of LDS's ceremonies depict a Pastor as Satan's friend.

Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery were plagiarist, liar and scam artist. The book of mormon is full of fraud, elephants, barley, wheat in North America and so on. That being said you don't see any Mormons strapping bombs to children. For the most part they are fantastic Americans who have been misled. I love talking to the folk.

South Park did an amazing job of hitting everyone of Joseph Smith's BS stories. Someone really did their research for that episode. Actually it's a fantastic primer for those of you that don't know anything about the founder of LDS.

Also if you don't know anything about Concerned Christians check out their website. This is nothing more than educational free speech.

Myself, I think of the Mormons as the only major denomination surviving from the 19th century equivalent of the modern New Age movement.

#11  I was a paid actor for two movies for the LDS and I did a lot of research on Joseph Smith. He was either a very good con-artist or truly believed what he said. He did endure a lot of physical abuse at the hands of "Christians". Brigham Young, on the other hand, was a cold, calculating opportunist who thought nothing of swindling or even killing anyone he felt was a threat. That said, the Mormons I know are very good people.

Caliphornia Judge Biyotch Slaps Ambulance Chaser
A disabled access attorney who has sued entire towns over alleged access violations has been rebuked by a San Diego federal court judge for his conduct in a recent case, told to pay legal fees and take ethics classes.
YES!
San Diego attorney Theodore Pinnock, who has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair, was ordered to pay more than $15,000 in legal fees incurred by a business owner who was sued over alleged access violations at a convenience store that wasn't even open for business.
It's a start
U.S. District Judge Jeffrey T. Miller also imposed sanctions against Pinnock, ordering the attorney to complete four hours of ethics and professional responsibility training approved by the California State bar.
ahhh let him foment and smolder
In his order entered today, Miller found that Pinnock & Wakefield should be sanctioned for failing to conduct a "reasonable and competent inquiry." But the judge declined to pay defense attorneys their requested $38,514 in legal fees, which the judge found to be "unreasonable" and cut the award to $15,213.
well next time, we can dream uknow!
In an order earlier this year, Judge Miller of the Southern District cited The Bee's series and his concerns that Pinnock's conduct would undermine the noble intentions of the ADA.
