#3 Just heard (Fox) that our Marines were required to surrender their weapons to the new "Government" before departing in a private (No US markings aside, maybe, N-number)aircraft.

Who required it? Foggy bottom.

#4 My understanding is that the Marine security detail departed Yemen via commercial air. In doing so, it appears they were prohibited from taking their weapons on the flight. Hopefully they all got out safely. Someone's arse should be in a sling over this one (commercial air extraction of military personnel). I cannot begin to tell you what could have gone wrong with this type of redeployment/extraction. Absolutely maddening.

#5 Guessing again, but I suspect whomever is now in charge of Yemen has PROHIITED U.S. military flights over Yemeni territory. The DoD and State Department are in compliance. Pulling those Marines out via CML air would have required some very high level approvals.
