Jury awards $11M to Gibson bakery from Oberlin
Posted by: lord garth || 06/07/2019 17:53 || Comments || Link || E-Mail|| [15 views] Top|| File under:

#1  The verdict sends a strong message that colleges and universities cannot simply wind up and set loose student social justice warriors and then wash their hands of the consequences. In this case, a wholly innocent 5th-generation bakery was falsely accused of being racist and having a history racial profiling after stopping three black Oberlin College students from shoplifting. The students eventually pleaded guilty, but not before large protests and boycotts intended to destroy the bakery and defame the owners. The jury appears to have accepted that Oberlin College facilitated the wrongful conduct against the bakery.

Bloody well grand! More of us Americans need to sue the shit out of this leftist racists.

A Movement of Professional Victims and Conspiracy Theories
[SultanKnish] Every movement has a mission statement. "Make America Great Again" is the conservative one. (It’s the "Again" part that makes it conservative.) The enemies of making America great have one too.

If the radicals had red hats, they would say, "They’re Out To Get You."

TOTGY has been the leftist motto since before Marx learned to shave and then decided to stop doing it. The arc of history may bend toward many places, but the black rainbow serviced by a snarling leprechaun with a PhD and a cocaine problem always begins and ends in the same paranoid place.

#3  Seriously, that's the problem with capitalism. Guys like him get to keep their ill-gotten earnings and steal them by presuming to own shit, and donate some fraction of their billions to unemploying proletarians.

IF we redistributed all of his theft-by-way-of-ownership money to actual proletarians working for a living we could actually have industry in this country instead of borrowing money from China to get them to ship stuff here.

Rear Adm. Jeffrey Harley took over as president of the Newport, Rhode Island, college in July 2016. The college, which grooms senior officers, faces a budget deficit of about $5 million. Harley approved about $750,000 in raises in the same year, according to the Associated Press.

President Obama blighted everything he touched, as far as I can tell.

India to buy 100 more of the Israeli bunker-buster bombs used in attack on Pakistan terror camp
[RT] The Indian Air Force has inked a deal with an Israeli defense firm to restock its arsenal with an advanced version of a bunker-buster bomb it had used in an airstrike against an alleged terrorist hideout in Pakistan in February.

New Delhi will purchase 100 more SPICE-2000 bombs for an estimated $43.2 million. SPICE stands for “smart, precise-impact and cost-effective” and is manufactured by the Israeli defense technology company Rafael. The munitions are expected to be delivered to the Indian Air Force (IAF) within the next three months.

Designed to destroy bunkers and other buildings, the bombs are an advanced version of the munitions deployed when the IAF attacked the suspected terrorist compound in Balakot, Pakistan, earlier this year. Islamabad responded with strikes of its own the next day, eventually downing an Indian F-16 after a brief dogfight.

The high-tech SPICE bomb has a range of 60 km and uses real-time data to adjust its flight path according to changing factors.

The spice must blow (up)!
Posted by: SteveS || 06/07/2019 12:18 Comments || Top||

#3  The SPICE is actually a self-correcting guidance kit that consists of two parts. The 'glide' part and the 'track' part. It enables precise delivery of about 2000lbs. of explosive. Spiced munitions are more effective than standard EO (std telemetry guidance) as it coordinates in real time with an overhead sat and multiple sources to home in.
The bomb is a conventional GBU type explosive device, maximum supported for the spice 2000 is 2000lbs.

Very simple ordnance married to hi-tech. But simple is enough in this part of the world, when you have intent. The bombing of the Balakot terror school saw about 300 jihadi casualties in one night. Which was a first for a country like India.

תודה to our Israeli friends.

Australia meth bust: shipment of speakers used to hide largest onshore seizure
[CNN] Australian authorities made the country's largest onshore methamphetamine seizure when police found 1.6 tons of drugs hidden in a shipment of stereo speakers from Thailand, the federal agency announced on Friday.

Australian Border Force (ABF) officials discovered the drugs when crews X-rayed the packaged boxes of speakers and anomalies were detected. A total of nearly 1.6 tons of meth, which officials said is equal to almost 16 million drug deals, was recovered from the cargo shipment at the Melbourne Container Examination Facility.

The speakers were packaged and sealed in a cargo shipment.

"This is the largest meth bust we've ever seen in this country, and demonstrates not only the brazen nature of those involved in this criminal activity, but the resolve of the ABF in Victoria and around the country to stop these imports," Craig Palmer, ABF Regional Commander Victoria, said in the statement.

Authorities said the record drug bust had an estimated street value of $1.2 billion Australian dollars, which is equivalent to $837 million US dollars. Along with meth, 37 kilograms of heroin was also found stashed in vacuumed-sealed packages inside the speakers.

"Last financial year the ABF made 43,000 detections of illicit drugs weighing more than 11.8 tons -- so this seizure is equal to more than 13% of the total drugs we seized last financial year," said Palmer.

At this time no arrests have been made as the investigation continues.

In January, US authorities confiscated almost a billion dollars' worth of methamphetamine bound for Australia, in the largest-ever seizure of the drug on American soil, Australian police announced after a joint operation. In that seizure, the drugs were found hidden inside electronic equipment.
We had a report of that January bust. On the Australian side, the recipients are the so-called bikie gangs — Middle Eastern lads, primarily Lebanese. There are Sunni bikie gangs, Shiite bikie gangs, and even one called Soldiers of Islam. Along with the usual, they’re fond of stolen rocket launchers and molesting women on Australian beaches. The January article showed new linkages between Australia’s narco-jihadis and the Hispano-American drug routes that have been connected to Hizbollah and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corp. One wonders what connections are revealed by the Thai sourcing.

#9  "So-called 'Menstrual Extraction' was first described by feminist activists Lorraine Rothman and Carol Downer in the 1970s as a way to perform an at-home abortion before Roe v Wade.

They described how to construct a contraption - called a Del Em - using a syringe, a cannula, a speculum, and a jar.

Once abortions became legal across the US, 'ME' was largely sidelined.

But as Mic reported in 2016, it has seen a resurgence in popularity, this time being pitched as a method to end periods early."

Re-purposing can be a beautiful thing...but not in this case.

Home Front: Culture Wars
Just Deserts
[AccordingToHoyt] Lately there has been a baffling revolt on the left against "meritocracy."

As with almost every one of these crusades the left goes on, it ain’t what they’re saying it is. And those of us on the right(ish) who think that it’s all part of a master plan to destroy society so the great communist utopia appears automagically aren’t precisely right. I mean, most people on the left would welcome collapse, because, yes, they believe a communist matriarchy is ONLY waiting for the "oppressors" who create capitalism and patriarchy to vanish

...When we say "merit" and "meritocracy" they think we’re using "code words" to say "white males." There are reasons for this, besides the fact that the left is heavily into Manichaean thought systems that go something like: identify problem-find a person who MIGHT be responsible for/benefits from the system as it exists-assume that if that person were removed, the problem would be gone. See, French Revolution.

The initial confusion on the left arises from the fact that they might never, in fact, have witnessed meritocracy in their dealings or those of people around them.

This is because, as part of the long march, and to secure absolute control of all fields and institutions, the left has a mythology (the manichaean thing again) that anyone who disagrees with them is evil. And of course, you don’t hire evil people.

The problem with that type of hiring is that you’re NOT hiring the best. And most people know they’re not the best. And hire someone less bright than they are. This in four generations takes you to the level of management/operation that takes monarchies twenty generations of inbreeding to achieve.

Right now, in everything but the hard sciences and STEM (and they’ve gotten into some of those, and can’t always be routed around.) the people in power would consider pouring piss out of a boot with the instructions written on the sole a feat of unachievable genius.

#3  Not baffling at all when you reconnect every dot starting from the social rights movements to when American universities were first infiltrated by foreign ideologues, and down to affirmative action and the LGBTQSPwhatevers in the military- all backed by globalist interests.

It is a formula for imposing mediocrity on an otherwise industrious, hitherto prosperous nation. Only then can its might be challenged by the never-do-wells.

Trump is like a shot out of the blue, something they never expected, which is why even the agents of this formula which populate DC offices are against him.

China's food supply imperiled
[AmericanThinker] China’s food supply is being imperiled as new reports warn that up to 50 percent of China’s 440 million pigs are now at risk from African Swine Fever infection.

...Geopolitical Futures emphasizes that China’s food supply is also being endangered due to other developing risks. The Fall Armyworm has spread to 220,000 acres (89,000 hectares) in Southern China, ruining primarily corn and some sugar cane crops. With no natural predators in China, the USDA warned "there is a high probability that the pest will spread across all of China’s grain production area within the next 12 months."

*there is some stupid bike across America deal where they ride bikes through Kansas at this time of year. Once you get off the interstate, it is basically a large construction zone, narrow roads, no shoulders, and the sowing clock is ticking especially if there are storms - can't tractor in the mud, not without a recovery crane. About broke the dashboard when some schmuck on the radio told us to watch out for them. As much fun as platoon of bicyclists vs. forage harvester sounds, its like taking a preschool on a tour of a building in the process of being demo'd.

Delimitation Of Constituencies In Kashmir
[TelegraphIndia] The long-pending issue of delimitation of constituencies in the state, where Assembly elections are scheduled to be held later this year, was discussed at the meeting. "If delimitation is implemented in Jammu and Kashmir, it will automatically lead to an increase in the number of seats from the Jammu region. The move may open the door for a Hindu chief minister," said an official attached to the Jammu and Kashmir division of the Union home ministry.

You see, the state of Jammu and Kashmir has more illegal muslims in Kashmir, represented by an unholy no. of partisan politicos that make it to the legislature. The Jammu part of the state has more hindus and moderate muslims, which also must be represented as per proportionate representation. This move enables more people from the moderate, non-salafist and hindu population to be correctly represented in the legislature.

One reason the Kashmire issue has never been resolved is that the state has so far had only Muslim chief ministers. This introduces the possibility of a truly secular democratic representation.

The BJP had said in its manifesto that it was "committed to annulling Article 35A" of the Constitution as the provision was "discriminatory against nonpermanent residents and women of Jammu and Kashmir". The article grants special rights and privileges to permanent residents of the state, including their own property rights systems where women cannot own anything but are instead owned. Annulling it enables women, hindus and residents of other states (also pvt. cos and corporations) to purchase and control property in the state. Effectively putting it in the hands of a free economy and secular society, relieving the secessionist, islamist bastards of their self assumed responsibility of administering to it.

It boils down to taking it out of muslim hands and putting it back in the hands of the Union, as every other state in India is. It is the first move toward taking away the special status of J&K. The next logical step would be a census and register of citizenship.

Tornado touches down: Dramatic moment a twister rips across a road in Louisiana as flash flooding sees 3.5 inches of rain fall in less than 60 minutes at rush hour killing a man

#1  Looking at the pictures... the road with the tornado looks vaguely familiar, I think it's along the levee, either between I-10 and the LSU area or south of the LSU area.

There's also pictures of I-10 through Baton Rouge made impassable by flooding, as opposed to normally, when it's just impassable due to crazy traffic.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Fair Oaks Farms Apologizes After Video Surfaces Of Workers Abusing Calves; 4 Employees Fired
[CHICAGO.CBSLOCAL] The owners of an Indiana dairy farm are apologizing after undercover video released by an animal rights group showed workers kicking, beating and throwing around newborn calves.

The video was filmed at Fair Oaks Farms, a popular destination for school field trips and tourists about 75 miles southeast of reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,...
The video was filmed by a member of Animal Recovery Mission, which had an undercover investigator get a job at Fair Oaks Farms from August to November of last year in order to expose animal cruelty.

The footage shows workers dragging calves by their ears, including off the side of a farm cart, throwing calves into small plastic isolation hutches, hitting calves with milk bottles, kicking calves, beating them with branding irons and steel rebar, and force-feeding the animals to the point they can’t breathe.

Workers are also seen piling dead calves onto farm vehicles and throwing them in mass dump sites.

The video also shows filthy conditions in the calves’ pens, overcrowded transport trucks, and temperature readings of more than 100 inside their hutches.

Animal Recovery Mission claims supervisors and owners at Fair Oaks were aware of and even took part in the animal abuse.

Jewel-Osco said the grocery store chain is removing all Fairlife products from its shelves in response to the video. Fairlife is owned by Fair Oaks founder Mike McCloskey and gets its dairy from Fair Oaks Farms.

"At Jewel-Osco we strive to maintain high animal welfare standards across all areas of our business and work in partnership with our vendors to ensure those standards are upheld. We apologize for any inconvenience," spokeswoman Mary La Belle Frances Trucco stated in an email.

In a statement, Fair Oaks Farms said five individuals were identified from the video, four of them Fair Oaks employees and the fifth a third-party truck driver who was picking up calves. The company said three of the four employees were fired before the video was released after co-workers caught them abusing animals and reported them to management. The fourth was fired on Tuesday after the ARM video was released.

As for the truck driver, Fair Oaks said he will not be allowed on their farms again.

"I am disgusted by and take full responsibility for the actions seen in the footage, as it goes against everything that we stand for in regards to responsible cow care and comfort. The employees featured in the video exercised a complete and total disregard for the documented training that all employees go through to ensure the comfort, safety and well-being of our animals," Fair Oaks founder Mike McCloskey stated.

Woman Told Cops She Stabbed Herself Three Times Because, "I'm Tired Of Living In Trump's Country"
[THESMOKINGGUN] A Florida woman told police that she stabbed herself in the stomach with a kitchen knife because, "I’m tired of living in Trump’s country, I’m tired of Trump being president."

Cops found the 46-year-old woman standing outside her residence in Palmetto Sunday, according to a police report. She had blood all over her legs, hands, and face, a cop noted.

When asked what was wrong, the woman lifted her shirt to reveal "three stab wounds on [her] stomach that were still bleeding." She then told the patrolman she had "stabbed herself because she does not want to live in Trump’s country."

The woman was subsequently transported by EMS workers to a local hospital "under trauma alert."

After evaluating the woman, a cop concluded that there was a "substantial likelihood" that she "will cause bodily harm to herself and/or others." As a result, the officer appears to have recommended that the woman be involuntarily admitted to a mental health treatment facility (per the state’s Baker Act).

The report states that the woman said she "has been Baker Acted before and has attempted to hurt herself in the past."

Arabia
UAE says 'sophisticated' tanker attacks likely the work of a state actor
[DAWN] The United Arab Emirates (UAE) told United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
Security Council members on Thursday that attacks on four tankers off its coast on May 12 bore the hallmarks of a "sophisticated and coordinated operation," most likely by a state actor.

The May 12 attacks targeted two Saudi tankers, an Emirati vessel and a Norwegian tanker. A statement issued by the UAE's Foreign Ministry had placed the ships near the country's territorial waters in the Gulf of Oman, east of the port of Fujairah. The US Navy's 5th Fleet oversees the region.

The tanker attacks came after Washington deployed B-52 bombers and an assault ship to bolster an aircraft carrier in the region as it engaged in a war of words with Tehran, which had begun to roll back commitments set out in the 2015 nuclear deal that the US withdrew from last year.

Read more: Trump exit from Iran nuclear deal enters uncharted territory

In a document on the briefing to Security Council members, the UAE, joined by Norway and Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, did not say who it believed was behind the attacks and did not mention Iran.

The attacks required expert navigation of fast boats and trained divers who likely placed limpet mines with a high degree of precision on the vessels under the waterline to incapacitate but not sink them, according to the preliminary findings of the countries' joint investigation.

"While investigations are still ongoing, these facts are strong indications that the four attacks were part of a sophisticated and coordinated operation carried out by an actor with significant operational capacity, most likely a state actor," the three countries said in the document.

They believe it was the work of several teams of operatives, which coordinated the timed detonation of all four explosive charges within less than an hour.

Pentagon eyes rare earth supplies in Africa in push away from China
[DAWN] The US Department of Defence has held talks with Malawi’s Mkango Resources Ltd and other rare earth miners across the globe about their supplies of strategic minerals, part of a plan to find diversified reserves outside of China, a department official said on Wednesday.

The push comes as China threatens to curb exports to the United States of rare earths, a group of 17 minerals used in a plethora of military equipment and high-tech consumer electronics.

Although China contains only a third of the world’s rare earth reserves, it accounts for 80 per cent of US imports of minerals because it controls nearly all of the facilities to process the material, according to US Geological Survey data.

"We are looking for any source of supply outside China. We want diversity. We don’t want a single-source producer," Jason Nie, a material engineer with the Pentagon’s Defence Logistics Agency, said on the sidelines of the Argus US Speciality Metals conference in reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,...
The DLA, which buys, stores and ships much of the Pentagon’s supplies - ranging from minerals to air plane parts to zippers for uniforms - has also held talks with Burundi’s Rainbow Rare Earths Ltd about future supply, as well as offered to introduce the several US rare earth projects under development with potential financiers, Nie said.

"We can make connections," he said.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Anti-aircraft missiles fired at Israel's Hermon, fall inside Syria
[JPost] Several anti-aircraft missiles were fired toward Mount Hermon from Syria on Thursday, the second such incident in under a week.

"IDF radars identified a number of anti-aircraft missiles fired from Syria," the IDF Spokesperson's Unit told The Jerusalem Post, adding that none fell in Israeli territory or posed a threat.

The incident came just days after five Syrian soldiers were killed in an alleged Israeli attack on the T4 airbase in the eastern Homs province on Sunday night, a day after a limited clash between Israel and Syria.

According to an assessment by ImageSat International (ISI), the strike on T4 likely took out an advanced weapons system that had been delivered from Iran a day earlier "probably related to UAVs and possibly including a transportable ground control structure."

On Saturday, two rockets were launched from Syria toward Mount Hermon, one of which landed inside Israeli territory. In response, the IAF struck several Syrian military positions in southwestern Damascus and Quneitra, killing three soldiers and injuring seven others.

The retaliatory strikes targeted two artillery batteries, a number of observation posts near the border, and an SA-2 air defense battery.

According to the statement by the military's media wing, "holy warriors targeted FC troops during their patrolling on Eid security duties."

However,

the statement by ISPR did not elaborate further on the incident.

The martyred soldiers include Sepoy Yar Muhammad, 23, of Kuch District in Sibi and Sepoy Mehtab Khan, 19, from Laki Marwat, said the statement.

The area has been cordoned off and a search operation has begun, the statement further added.

According to sources within the Balochistan Levies, a blast from an improvised bomb (IED) occurred at around 8:30am in Harnai's Khost tehsil.

"The personnel were bringing water from the stream where the IED was planted," said the sources.

The bodies of the slain soldiers have been taken to District Headquarter Hospital (DHQ) Harnai, while the deputy commissioner of Harnai and superintendent of police are on their way to the site of the incident, the sources added.

In February, two FC personnel were martyred while a civilian passerby was injured in a firing incident in Balochistan's Loralai city. The attack was termed a assassination by police. The assailants had managed to escape unhurt.

Pakistani Illegal Migrant Charged with Murder of French Student
[Breitbart] A Pak migrant, said to be in La Belle France illegally, has been tossed in the calaboose
Book 'im, Mahmoud!
and charged with the murder of a 23-year-old female student whose body was found in the trunk of her car last month in the commune of Valenton.

According to Sherlocks, Sandra B. had been suffocated and her body was found in the trunk of her car several days after she had gone missing, although Sherlocks said there was no sign of sexual violence.

The 33-year-old Pak male was subsequently arrested and charged this week by the Créteil prosecutor with kidnapping, murder, alteration of a scene of the crime, and several other charges, Le Gay Pareeien reports.

The 23-year-old victim had been working at an internship at a company supplying ice cream to the Franprix chain of supermarkets and her phone’s last known location was at a Franprix shop in Quincy-sous-Sénart, where the Pak suspect had been working.
Internship. Vixen!
Police became suspicious of the undocumented Democrat after he had booked a ticket to Italia the day the body of the victim had been discovered and put out an international arrest warrant for him but had difficulty tracking him down. On Monday, the 33-year-old turned himself into a cop shoppe in the 17th arrondissement of Gay Paree.

Investigators say they are still examining the possible motive for the murder but have so far not established any prior connections between Sandra B. and the arrested migrant.

Oslo Police Arrest ‘Allah hu Akbar’ Knife Attacker Suspect
[Breitbart] Police in the Norwegian capital tossed in the clink
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
a man in his 30s suspected of stabbing at least one person, with witnesses claiming he yelled "Allahu Akbar" during the attack.
"we'll probably never know his motivation"
The attack occurred at around 8 am on Tuesday and saw the man, who is said to originally be from Russia, threaten several people in the Grunerløkka area of the city, Norwegian newspaper Verdens Gang reports.

While a number of people were threatened by the suspect, one man, a migrant from the Philippines, was stabbed after trying to help one of the people being threatened by the Russian.

The brother of the stabbing victim described the incident saying: "Witnesses on the spot say that the man with the knife tried to attack a colleague of my brother, totally unprovoked. If my brother hadn’t tried to help him, it could have been much worse. My brother tried to take the knife off of him, but instead got stabbed."
Sounds like Sudden Jihad Syndrome to me. The only question is whether he is a connected known wolf or a colonist with known psychiatric problems.
According to the brother, the victim had been rushed to hospital where he was treated for a punctured lung and is now in stable, pH balanced condition.

Shortly after the stabbing, police arrived on the scene and were able to subdue the attacker using electric tasers. Despite multiple witnesses claiming the man shouted "Allah hu Akbar" while he ran around threatening people, police say that they are currently not treating the incident as a terror attack.
"We tased him - for a couple hours, then had to recharge our units"
"We do not currently have information that indicates that this is a terror-related incident," police officer Anne Alræk Solem, who heads the serious violent crime division, said.

The stabbing comes only months after another case in the city that involved another Russian man who stabbed a woman in a supermarket in January which was investigated as an act of terror.

"The man said under questioning that he wanted to kill several people and that this was an act of terror," the head of the Norwegian police’s security service (PST) Benedicte Bjoernland said after the incident.

Germany registers shocking number of child abuse cases
[DW] Police have said that this year's crime statistics paint a grim picture of the state of child welfare in Germany. More than 100 children were killed in 2018, and thousands were sexually abused.

German criminal statistics for the year 2018 were released on Thursday, and police say they paint a very dark picture.

According to the report, 136 children were violently killed in 2018 ‐ with 80% of victims under the age of 6. Another 98 children were also the victims of attempted killings.

The number of children sexually abused last year rose 6.43% over 2017, to a staggering 14,600 cases ‐ an average of 40 each day.

Police say the actual number of cases is likely much higher, but as perpetrators tend to be family members, friends, or neighbors, it is often very difficult for the children to report such crimes.

'WE MUST ASSUME MANY CRIMES GO UNDETECTED'
Holger Munch, president of Germany's Federal Crime Office (BKA), said that although police were able to solve almost 80% of the child sexual abuse cases they were dealing with, "that statistic only represents crimes that police were made aware of. We must assume ‐ and experts estimate ‐ that many crimes go undetected."

Police also uncovered 7,449 cases of the production and distribution of child pornography in 2018, a 14% increase over 2017. The BKA says the uncovering of such cases was due in large part to international cooperation.
Oddly enough, no discussion of who the perpetrators are, statistically speaking, nor why the number has increased, nor what the baseline was back before Chancellor Merkel’s 2015 invitation.

Libyan coast guard intercepts some 100 Europe-bound migrants
[AlArabiya] Libya’s coasties says it has intercepted a boat carrying nearly 100 Europe-bound migrants colonists, including women and kiddies, off the country’s Mediterranean coast.

According to al-Eryani, the militias stormed mosques during Eid prayer in Houthi-controlled areas, including Sanaa and Dhamar.

Local media reports stated that the imam and worshippers were rubbed out at a mosque in the Qiva district in al-Bayda, after they refused to stop their Eid prayers on Tuesday when ordered to do so by Houthi militiamen.

Sanaa residents also reported that the Houthi-controlled Religious Endowments and Guidance offices instructed religious guides and holy warriors to monitor other "violating" mosques.

Yemenis on Monday were deeply divided over when the first day of Eid would be, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, when Moslems fast from sunrise to sunset.

In the southern port city of Aden, the legitimate Yemeni government declared that Tuesday would be the first day of Eid, while the Houthi militias, who control the capital Sanaa and other northern Yemeni provinces, declared that Wednesday, June 5 would be the first day of Eid.

This is the first time the country was divided over the moon sighting marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, despite years of deadly conflict between Yemen’s government and the Houthis.

Local activists said the Houthis wanted to challenge the Yemeni government, supported by Saudi Arabia, by announcing that Eid would commence one day later.

New York Times Unmasks Honduran Community Fighting MS-13
[Breitbart -HT Knucklegraggin] The New York Times unmasked a group of freedom fighters in Honduras who dared to take on the much-feared MS-13 gang. The U.S. publication printed their names, published photographs of their faces, families, and homes ‐ allegedly without permission ‐ thus putting a target on the members of the self-defense group.
"Hate Group" by NYT Stylebook
In outrage, an author in Honduras called out the New York Times in a column for the local publication Contra Corriente for exposing the community to the wrath of the brutal gang. Rather than simply tell their story, the foreign journalists from Times turned the freedom fighters into easy targets by outing their identities and printing photographs of the group and their loved ones as well as marking the location of their homes.

On May 4, the New York Times published a story by Azam Ahmed
... a good Brooklyn kinda name...
with photographs by Tyler Hicks headlined Inside Gang Territory in Honduras : Either They Kill Us or We Kill Them about a community in a rough neighborhood of San Pedro Sula called Rivera Hernandez. Locals claim the publication of their personal information "will speed up the death they had been waiting for", wrote Juan Jose Martinez D Aubuisson, a local author who has written various books on MS-13.

"The report goes over the history of a group of young men who decided to fight MS13 to keep it from entering their neighborhood and the destruction that (MS13) brings," Martinez wrote. "As it was expected, they lost. Some were kidnapped and some ran away. The people from the neighborhood, including men and women, have taken up the fight against the great gang."

The article by the Times tells the tale of the losing side in great detail providing vital information of the self-defense group including their names, photographs, locations of their homes, the vehicle that one of them uses, and even the photographs of the two daughters of one individual. "If they were a nuisance for the MS13 gang, now they are a special target," Martinez wrote.

One of the women featured in the story told the Honduran publication that she never gave them consent to print their name or take their photographs. "I didn't even know when he took them (photographs. That man has put a price on my head," she said.

The writer from Contra Corriente wrote to Azam Ahmed asking telling him that he was looking into why faces and names were used for the story and the response from the writer was "HAHAHAHA" followed by another email days later where Ahmed claimed to not know how that email sent itself. The Times communications team told Martinez that everyone in the story had given consent and the news outlet followed all journalistic standards. The photographs that showed certain faces have since been removed, but days after the story was wildly shared in Honduras.

According to the column, the lack of journalism ethics displayed by New York Times is systemic in nature for big-name networks who use parachute journalists and hire local fixers to give them the most shocking sensational story without much care about the danger that local sources are placed in.

Elijah Cummings's Wife Used Her Charity To Pay Her For-Profit Company, Documents Show
The dogs are on the hunt, so to speak. Fry this asshole and his wife
[Daily Caller] House Oversight Chairman Elijah Cummings's wife has funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars from her charity to her private for-profit organization, according to a previously undisclosed cost-sharing arrangement that multiple experts said raises red flags.

Maya Rockeymoore Cummings's charity, the Center for Global Policy Solutions (CGPS), paid her for-profit venture, Global Policy Solutions LLC, over $250,000 in "management fees" between 2013 and 2015, according to the charity's audited financial statements covering those years. The management fees were paid in addition to a cost-sharing agreement where the charity pays for its share of equipment, personnel and other expenditures.

India-Pakistan
Pakistan Military Agrees To Budget Cut Amid Economic Woes
[ToloNews] Pakistain’s military has agreed in a rare move to cut its hefty budget for a year to help ease the South Asian country’s "critical financial situation", Prime Minister Imran Khan
... aka Taliban Khan, who ain't the sharpest bulb on the national tree...
said.

Pakistain has struck an agreement in principle with the International Monetary Fund for a $6 billion loan but Islamabad is expected to put in place measures to rein in a ballooning fiscal and current account deficits to get access to the funds.

The IMF has said the primary budget deficit should be trimmed by the equivalent of $5 billion, but previous civilian rulers have rarely dared to trim defense spending for fear of stoking tension with the military.

Unlike some other civilian leaders in Pakistain’s fragile democracy, Khan appears to have good relations with the generals who have ruled the nuclear-armed nation for nearly half its history since independence in 1947.

Pakistain’s de facto finance chief, Hafeez Sheikh, on June 11 is due to announce spending plans for the financial year beginning in July.

Under Pakistain’s devolved system, the federal government must hand over more than half its budget to the provinces, and the remainder is mostly eaten up by debt servicing and the military’s vast budget.

Khan late on Tuesday tweeted that he appreciated the military’s "unprecedented voluntary initiative of stringent cuts in their defense expenditures" for next financial year because of the country’s "critical financial situation".

This will allow money to be spent on the development of the tribal regions bordering Afghanistan, still recovering from more than a decade-long Islamist insurgency, and violence-racked Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
province, Khan added.

The previous government hiked military spending by 20 percent to 1.1 billion, but the military appears to have overshot that figure amid a flare up in tensions with arch-foe India.

Khan did not say by how much defense spending would be trimmed.

A military front man said the "voluntary cut" in the defense budget for a year would not be at the expense of security.

"We shall (maintain) effective response potential to all threats," he added on Twitter.

Pakistain has one of the world’s largest armies but critics say the military’s spending is unnecessary and holds the country back in key areas such as health and education. More than 40 percent of the population is illiterate.

Egypt security forces kill 14 terrorists involved in Al-Arish attack
[AlAhram] Egypt’s security forces killed 14 terrorist elements Wednesday in pursuit of those involved in an attack against a security checkpoint earlier in North Sinai’s El-Arish city, the Egyptian interior ministry announced.
"kill" is good
According to a ministry statement, security forces managed to locate the preparators in an abandoned house they used as a hideout in a remote area in El-Arish city.

The statement added that as soon as the suspects realised that security forces had besieged them, they opened fire.

Fourteen automatic rifles and three bombs were found in the hideout, the statement read.

High State Security is currently investigating the incident.

Early Wednesday morning, eight Egyptian coppers were killed in an attack against a security checkpoint south of El-Arish.

Five terrorist elements were killed in the shootout between the coppers and the attackers while the rest expeditiously departed at a goodly pace.

Late Wednesday, an Islamic State

They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. affiliated group in North Sinai grabbed credit in an online statement, claiming that 10 coppers were killed in two attacks: one at a checkpoint south of El-Arish and another at a checkpoint in a "nearby area."

ISIS Member Says Terrorist Group Wanted To Smuggle Him Into The US To ‘Cripple The Economy’
[DailyCaller] A captured ISIS fighter reportedly confessed last month that he was asked to be part of a terrorist plot to "cripple the [U.S.] economy" by illegally entering the United States from its southern border.
What is he? a Democrat Socialist?
Abu Henricki, who has dual Canadian and Trinidadian citizenship but was living in Syria at the time, says he was recruited by ISIS leaders because he could speak English. He was then told he would be smuggled from Central America to the U.S. by taking advantage of the border crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border.

His handlers told him that the mission was to attack financial institutions in the country. Members of the International Center for the Study of Violent Extremism (ICSVE) interviewed Henricki last month in Rojava, Syria, where he remains imprisoned and their report was published Monday in Homeland Security

The U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) captured Henricki this year as they routed ISIS forces in Baghouz.

Interpol has previously reported that up to 173 ISIS holy warriors were trained to attack European cities with suicide kabooms.

Henricki reportedly went to Syria to fight with the ISIS forces there but was turned down for combat duty because he was chronically sick.

He said he was then imprisoned with his wife and was tortured: "They tortured me. They beat me a lot. [I was] suspended from the back, standing on my toes, given no food for a few days, waterboarded ‐ while blindfolded, and they put a bag over your head. They found nothing on me, so I was released."

By the end of 2016, Henricki says he was approached by the ISIS intelligence network ‐ known as emni ‐ for a different kind of mission: violating the U.S.-Mexico border and preparing to execute terrorist attacks on American soil.

"They, what they will have, what they wanted to do, basically, is they wanted to do financial attacks. Financial attacks to cripple the [U.S.] economy," Henricki told the ICSVE team. "Apparently, they have the contacts or whatever papers they can get to a false ID, false passports. They have their system of doing it. So that’s maybe the way that I could have gone out with other individuals. It wasn’t me alone. They were sending you to Puerto Rico and from Puerto Rico [to Mexico]."

He says "the plan came from someone from the New Jersey state of America. I was going to take the boat from Puerto Rico into Mexico. He was going to smuggle me in," according to Homeland Security Today.

Henricki said it was his understanding that ISIS was aiming to attack the New York financial sector.

"They wanted to use these people because they were from these areas," Henricki told the team, meaning the ISIS operatives could speak English and were familiar with North American landmarks.

He added that he was not the only Trinidadian recruited for the operation and that ISIS had sought commitments from others to "do the same thing.

The former ISIS fighter claims that he was never a willing participant in the terrorist plot.

"Please be advised, I was not willing to do it," Henricki told his interrogators. "But this is one of their wicked ‐one of the plans that they had ‐ and which I would like to think I foiled the plan by not being part of it."

U.S. Detained 144,000 Migrants in May, Up 32% since April
[AnNahar] U.S. authorities detained or blocked more than 144,000 migrants colonists at the border with Mexico in May, up 32 percent since April as Central Americans flock to the United States seeking asylum, official figures showed Wednesday.

Customs and Border Protection officials said most of the migrants colonists were families from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, and the total included some 57,718 children.

The total number of migrants colonists detained in the past month was nearly triple that of a year ago, underscoring the surge that has overwhelmed border agents and sparked a deep crisis in U.S. relations with Mexico, which Washington has accused of abetting the immigrant flow.

"We are in a full-blown emergency. The system is broken," said CBP Acting Commissioner John Sanders.

The numbers were released hours before top Mexican officials were to meet with Vice President Mike Pence over President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
's threat to impose steep tariffs on Mexican goods starting Monday if it doesn't do something to keep the migrants colonists from reaching the US frontier.

Sanders said there had been no let-up in the numbers of border crossers in the first days of June, and that the Border Patrol now has nearly 19,000 migrants colonists in jug.

Officials said that the pace of arrivals of undocumented migrants colonists -- 677,000 in the first eight months of the fiscal year -- is the highest since 2006, when single men from Mexico were the main migrants colonists, compared to families from Central America today.

Sanders said more were arriving in large groups, including one single group of 1,036 which arrived in El Paso, Texas on May 29, the day before Trump announced his tariff threat.

Underlining the extent of the crisis, officials said that other nationalities from around the world are joining the trek from Central America to the southern US border.

That included a single group of 117 people from sub-Saharan Africa, including Angolans and Cameroon

DC Dyke March bans Jewish Pride flags
[IsraelTimes] Paleostinian banner permitted at event, but symbols of ’nations that have specific oppressive tendencies’ are banned; coalition of LGBTQ groups demand apology.

The DC Dyke March is returning after a 12-year hiatus, with a new request: no "nationalist symbols," including flags and banners that represent "nations that have specific oppressive tendencies."

This includes the Jewish Pride flag of rainbow colors with a white Star of David in the middle, which organizers say too closely resembles the flag of Israel.

Paleostinian flags will be welcome, however.

The march will take place on Friday, a day before the annual Capital Pride Parade. Its theme is "displacement."

Yael Horowitz, a Jewish organizer of the DC march, told the Washington Post that "pro-Israel and pro-Jewish are very different things."

She said in a Facebook message "Jewish stars and other identifications and celebrations of Jewishness (yarmulkes, talit, other expressions of Judaism or Jewishness) are welcome and encouraged. We do ask that participants not bring pro-Israel paraphernalia in solidarity with our queer Paleostinian friends."

The decision to ban Jewish Pride flags comes two years after three women were asked to leave the 21st annual reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,...
Dyke March after being told that their rainbow flags with a white Star of David in the center would be a "trigger," or traumatic stimulus, for people who found them offensive. The women reportedly were asked to leave after they started defending Israel and Zionism.

A coalition of LGBTQ, Jewish and feminist organizations on Wednesday in a statement called on the DC Dyke March "to apologize to the community, and reverse course by allowing Dykes wishing to carry all Jewish and Israeli symbols to march as their full, authentic selves."

"The DC Dyke March should know better than to stoke the flames of division and pain by driving a wedge between Queer Arabs and Jews at a time we must stand united against homo- and transphobia, anti-Semitism, and Islamophobia
...the irrational fear that Moslems will act the way they usually do...
. We hope that they will do better‐‐for the sake and advancement of all of our communities," read the statement signed by A Wider Bridge, JCRC of Greater Washington, and Zioness.

#1  The Times of Israel has an explainer:

What is the DC Dyke March?

The DC Dyke March is an alternative parade to the main LGBTQ parade taking place this weekend in Washington, DC. Its politics have traditionally been to the left of more mainstream pride marches. It’s one of a movement of Dyke Marches that have taken place nationwide.

The Dyke March’s description on its fundraising page says it’s focused this year on combating gentrification and displacement.

“Our goal is to encourage activism within our community and center transwomxn, queer womxn, nonbinary, lesbian, and other dyke identities who are oft-marginalized by the mainstream LGBTQ movement,” the webpage says, using an alternative spelling for “woman.”

“We believe Dyke is not a sexuality, but a political identity centered on solidarity in each other’s struggles and a belief that none of us are free until we all are,” the site says.

How is the Jewish LGBTQ community responding?

Many groups are aghast. While the Jewish star is a central symbol of Israel, it’s also a longtime symbol of Judaism that long predates Zionism or a modern Jewish state. And LGBTQ leaders said placing the central symbol of one’s community at the center of a rainbow flag is standard practice in the queer community.

Local and national Jewish organizations have also released statements criticizing the flag restriction. And the National LGBTQ Task Force withdrew as a partner organization from the march due to the policy.

“The Jewish Pride Flag is a symbol that represents the greater LGBTQ Jewish community — around the world and of many perspectives,” the Task Force said in a statement. “Additionally, we are disappointed that this action distracts from the appropriate and needed focus on DC residents and housing policies that favor gentrification.”

So what’s going to happen at this march?

A contingent of people plans to march with the Jewish Pride flags anyway. A.J. Campbell, one of the first marchers to inquire about the policy, said she feels it is making her choose between her Jewish and queer identities.

“The march belongs to all of us,” she said. “I’m hoping for something like a reconciliation here. I actually hope that we can, after the march, talk about this and see if there’s some ground we can cover together.”

Zioness, a women’s group that demonstrates openly as pro-Israel activists in progressive spaces, will be organizing a contingent.

“[T]here will always be individuals seeking to drive artificial wedges between coalitions of solidarity,” Zioness said in a statement co-signed by the Jewish Democratic Council of America and A Wider Bridge, an organization that supports Israel and its LGBTQ community. “Today, those individuals seek to undermine queer, Jewish and Muslim voices working to advance all of our communities, using the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as a pretext for division.”

Raney said that if people do bring the flags, there will be a group of “trained marshals who are Jewish” who will ask the marchers to put the flags down and, if necessary, leave the march, though Raney added that they will not use force to remove the flags or marchers.

So it might get interesting. A matter of whose dykes are buller, I s’pose.

Israel cuts back Gaza fishing zone over incendiary balloons
[IsraelTimes] Israel has cut the fishing zone it allows off Gazoo, an official says Thursday, in the third such response in a fortnight to Paleostinian incendiary balloons.

The Israeli official tells AFP on condition of anonymity that as of Wednesday the fishing limit for Gazoo fishermen had been reduced from a maximum of 15 nautical miles to 10.
"No fishing for you!"
A front man for the Israeli fire service said incendiary balloons from Gazoo caused three blazes on Tuesday.

It was only on Tuesday that Israel restored the limit to 15 miles after a previous reduction in response to fire balloons last week.

It imposed a similar cut on May 23.

The limit of up to 15 nautical miles set ahead of the April general election is the largest allowed in years

Europe
Several hundred migrants rescued from Mediterranean by Malta
[AlAhram] Malta’s armed forces rescued nearly 400 migrants colonists in four separate sea operations on Wednesday and brought them all ashore to the small Mediterranean island, the military said.

A government official said it was one of the largest number of arrivals to Malta in many months.

An army source said other migrant boats were being monitored in the central Mediterranean, and it was not immediately clear if the Maltese authorities planned to intervene.

NGOs have reported that several boats are trying to cross the Mediterranean and reach Europe.

Sea Watch International said on Twitter that a rubber dinghy with at least 80 people on board was deflating about 50 nautical miles north of Garabulli in Libya. "Many people in the water, high probability of missing and drowned," it said, adding that the Libyan Coast Guard was on the scene.

Malta has repeatedly said its patrol boats will only rescue migrants colonists when they are seen to be in distress.

Malta and neighbouring Italia have closed their ports over the past year to charity ships that pick up migrants colonists off the coast of Libya and have called on the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
to share out any arriving migrants colonists between the various member states.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Lawyers for officer who shot, killed Minnesota woman ask for unusual sentence
[FoxNews] Attorneys for a Minneapolis police officer convicted of murder after he shot and killed an unarmed woman who had called 911 asked a judge Thursday to forgo a prison sentence in lieu of an unusual arrangement: they propose he'd report to jail for a week each year on the woman’s birthday and the anniversary of her death.
If ya don’t ask, they can’t agree, however stoopid the idea.
"This sentence honors the memory of Ms. Rusczcyk and allows Mr. Noor to continue to serve the city," Mohammed Noor's
...also in our archives as Mohamed Noor, he was the first Somali-American on the Minneapolis police force. Despite being flagged by two psychiatrists as unable to handle the stress of the job, and described his neighbours as ill tempered and jumpy, and disliking women, children at play, and African-Americans, he was put through the fast track training for college grads. On the day of the shooting, with almost two years experience he was the senior man in the car...
defense attorneys, Thomas Plunkett and Peter Wold, wrote in their motion ahead of the sentencing scheduled for Friday in the murder of Justine Ruszczyk Damond. "Just as importantly, it mandates that Mr. Noor will continue to consider his action and the great loss they caused."
Except that everything reported about Mr. Noor makes clear the one thing he is completely unqualified for by both nature and nurture is to continue serving as a police officer. So hopefully the judge will firmly reject this ridiculous proposal.
The suggested sentence, instead of the 12-and-a-half years recommended by state guidelines for the third-degree murder charge and four years for second-degree manslaughter, would last the entirety of Noor’s probation, which the attorneys didn’t specify in their request. It also would incorporate an annual period of community service so the officer could continue to repent for his actions and give back to his community.

Noor was convicted this past April after he shot and killed Damond, a 40-year-old dual citizen of the U.S. and Australia, in July 2017. She had been engaged to be married a month after the shooting unfolded.

Noor shot Damond when she approached his squad car with his partner in it as they were parked in the alley behind her home. The officers said they heard a loud bang and saw Damond raise her hands on the partner's side of the car before Noor fired his weapon.

Damond's death fueled a racially charged debate after a series of incidents across the U.S. involving black people being shot by white officers. In this case, Noor, a Somali American, shot Damond, who is white, and whose family received a $20 million settlement from the city.

#7  So, the fact that we had universal conscription back then escapes everyone?.

Today we don't have that. The modern US military is basically a mercenary force. It's all about retention bonuses and benefits. Serve your country, sure, but how is that done by getting killed in Niger? Or Afghanistan? You're just serving globalist goals and providing fuel for a fire that will never warm you.

I say this as a red white and blue America-loving American. It would be wonderful if our military defended our shores. But it doesn't. It's mafia enforcers for an unelected transnational elite. We are sworn to the death to defend the borders of others but cannot defend our own.
Posted by: Herb McCoy || 06/07/2019 13:35 Comments || Top||

#8  The thing is, Mr, McCoy, there is near defence and far defence (I’m sure there are technical terms for this, but I don’t know them). At the moment I’m working up an article about the upcoming trial of the support crew for the 2015 Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris. Nowadays near defence, which is what you are proposing we concentrate on, looks remarkably like fighting attackers within the national borders. So that os the choice, Mr. McCoy: keep them busy fighting us far from our home, where the people they kill are mostly their own countrymen, or fight them in New York City subway stations and college football stadiums.

There is one thing we could do in order to be able to keep the troops at home, though: expel from the homeland everyone in any way connected to those who would war against us. Granted, this would mean driving out all Muslim immigrants, all those who have provided or expressed support for Muslim immigrants, all Black Muslims, all those connected to illegals brought in by coyotes and all those — illegal and otherwise — connected to narco gangs... At a rough estimate we’re talking thirty to fifty million people, many of them American citizens — and many of the citizens Democrats — but there is no point in setting our mercenaries to guard the walls if the enemy army is already within, right?

As General Patton reportedly said, “No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.” And it’s ever so much easier to ensure that happens when the war is fought in the enemy’s back yard instead of ours.

It's actually possible to believe two things.

That dealing with the border is imperative and that forward defense is sometimes necessary.

#19  The modern US military is basically a mercenary force.

Gee Herb, a draft army was only a small part of history of the US. Most of the time its been a active volunteer force. By draft, what is really meant is the activation of the federal militia. Since 1792 and the first Militia Act to today's Title X USC subparagraph Militia, all male citizens between 18 and 45 are active members of the federal militia in accordance with Art. I Section 8 of the Constitution.
The draft was to be just an emergence back up in case the situation was too much for the regulars.
It stopped after WWII but was reactivated in 1948 because of the Berlin Crisis.
Unfortunately, that force became a means to engage in long term interventions around the globe. Foreign adventures that lead to too many failures and too many lives of the basic citizenry squandered. When you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Concurrent with that employment came more and more power to the Executive and expansion of government.
A mercenary force fights for its pay master. The US force is sworn to uphold and defend the Constitution. While some in the ranks and more in the senior political positions may look at who ever is in Washington as their paymaster, there are far more who serve and will 'give the last full measure of devotion' to the sworn duty. That is why Obama tried to break it.

Mexico freezes bank accounts in widening migration clampdown
[Rooters] The Mexican Finance Ministry said on Thursday it blocked the bank accounts of 26 people for their alleged involvement in human trafficking, as Mexico broadens its migration clampdown under intense pressure from U.S. President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
The ministry’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) said in a statement it froze the accounts due to "probable links with human trafficking and illegal aid to migrant caravans."

The FIU added that it would present the cases to the Attorney General’s office.

The United States is looking for Mexico to target people-smuggling organizations as part of a package of actions on immigration to stave off punitive tariffs threatened by Trump.

The move comes a day after the government sent soldiers and armed police to block a large group of migrants colonists crossing into Mexico from Guatemala, detaining at least 350, and tossed in the calaboose
Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please!
two prominent migrant rights activists in Mexico City.

The government’s crackdown on different aspects of migration coincides with meetings this week between Mexican and U.S. officials in Washington to thrash out a deal to avoid the tariffs kicking in on Monday.

Trump last week said Mexico must take a harder line on migrants colonists or face 5% tariffs on all its exports to the United States from June 10, rising to as much as 25% later this year.

Mexico’s Ministry of Finance and Public Credit said it mapped financial transactions of people along a route traveled by "migrant caravans" since October 2018.

"A group of people were identified who, in the period of migrant caravans, made unusual operations from Chiapas and Queretaro to different countries, including some considered risky jurisdictions by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF)," the statement said.
Breitbart adds:
The operation tracked financial movements from October 2018 through current dates in an attempt to determine the sources of funding for the migrant caravans. According to their statement, the UIF identified a group of individuals that made several questionable international financial transactions from the cities of Chiapas and Queretaro during the times that the migrant caravans were moving through those places.

Mexican authorities followed the path of the caravans and the financial operations from Queretaro to the border cities of Tijuana, Nogales, Ciudad Juarez, Ciudad Acuna, Piedras Negras, and Reynosa. Based on that information, Mexican authorities were able to trace the source of the funds to the U.S., England, Cameroon, Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala, the statement revealed.

The Grand Turk
US Stops Accepting Turkish Pilots To Train On F-35 Fighter Jets
[Jpost] The United States has decided to stop accepting any additional Ottoman Turkish pilots who planned to come to the United States to train on F-35 fighter jets, US officials say, in a clear sign of the escalating dispute over Ankara's plans to purchase Russian air defenses.

The two NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all....
allies have sparred publicly for months over The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's colony in Asia Minor....
's order for Russia's S-400 air defense system, which Washington says poses a threat to the Lockheed Martin Corp F-35 stealthy fighters, which Turkey also plans to buy.

The United States says Turkey cannot have both, but has avoided taking steps until now to curtail or halt planned training of Ottoman Turkish pilots in the program, a reprisal that could be seen as an embarrassment in Turkey.

The two US officials, who spoke to Rooters this week on condition of anonymity, left open the possibility the decision could be reversed, perhaps if Turkey altered its plans. They said the decision so far only applied to upcoming rounds of Ottoman Turkish pilots and maintenance crews who would have normally come to the United States.

There has not yet been a formal decision to halt the training of the Ottoman Turkish pilots and maintenance crews now at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona, the sources said. Still, Rooters reported last week that the step was being seriously considered.

Four Ottoman Turkish pilots are currently training at Luke. Two additional Ottoman Turkish pilots are at the US base working as instructors. Beyond those six Ottoman Turkish officers, there are an additional 20 Ottoman Turkish aircraft maintainers at the base undergoing training as well, the US military says.

Turkey has expressed an interest in buying 100 of the fighters, which would have a total value of $9 billion at current prices.

If Turkey were removed from the F-35 program, it would be one of the most significant ruptures in recent history in the relationship between the two allies, experts said.

But strains in ties between Washington and Ankara already extend beyond the F-35 to include conflicting strategy in Syria, Iran sanctions and the detention of US consular staff in Turkey.

The disclosure of the decision on the pilots follows signs that Turkey is moving ahead with the S-400 purchase. Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said on May 22 that Ottoman Turkish military personnel were receiving training in Russia to use the S-400, and that Russian personnel may come to Turkey.

President Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday it was "out of the question" for Turkey to back away from its deal with Moscow.

Kathryn Wheelbarger, one of the Pentagon's most senior policy officials, said last week that Turkey's completion of the transaction with Russia would be "devastating," dealing heavy blows to the F-35 program and to Ottoman Turkish interoperability within the NATO alliance.

"The S-400 is a Russian system designed to shoot down an aircraft like the F-35," said Wheelbarger, an acting assistant secretary of defense. "And it is inconceivable to imagine Russia not taking advantage of that (intelligence) collection opportunity."

The Pentagon declined comment on whether it would accept new Ottoman Turkish pilots. But it has stressed discussions are taking place with Ankara on potentially selling Turkey Patriot missile defenses, which are made by Raytheon Co.

Erdogan said on Tuesday, however, that the United States had not "given us an offer as good as the S-400s."

Iraq
138 Yezidi bodies exhumed in Kocho sent to Baghdad for identification
[Rudaw] Iraqi and Kurdish teams exhuming suspected mass graves in Shingal have sent the bodies of 138 Yezidis killed by Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) bully boyz to Baghdad for DNA testing before they are handed over to their families for reburial, an official said Wednesday.

"Ten mass graves have so far been exhumed in the village of Kocho, which contained 138 bodies of Yezidis ‐ mostly males," Major Falah Hassan, a member of the Iraqi national team for exhuming bodies, told KirkukNow.

The bodies have been sent to Baghdad to establish their identities before they are handed over to their families for reburial in the town of Shingal.

"There are six more mass graves left to be exhumed in the village [of Kocho]," Hassan added, saying the team would resume work after the Eid break.

In Kocho alone, 16 mass grave sites have been identified.

"The remains will first be examined, and then DNA samples will be taken to compare with samples gathered from families," Zaid al-Yusef, the head of Baghdad's forensics office, told AFP on Thursday.

Finding DNA matches from the survivors is proving difficult. Many of their families were collectively killed in the genocide.

"We took around 1,280 samples from families in Sinjar, but the problem is that for a lot of them, there's just a single survivor and the rest are all missing," he said.

"If we compare it with other terrorist attacks, we would find three, four, or five survivors for every missing person. But here, we have three, four, or five missing people for a single survivor," Yusef added.

ISIS bully boyz attacked the Yezidi homeland of Shingal in August 2014, slaughtering thousands of Yezidi men and burying them in mass graves. Women and children were kidnapped and sold into slavery ‐ many facing years of repeated sexual violence.

Of the 6,417 Yezidis kidnapped by ISIS, some 3,369 have been rescued, but the fate of the remaining 2,992 is unclear, according to Yezidi Affairs Office in the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowment.

Thousands more are thought to lie undiscovered.

More than 70 mass graves were identified in Shingal district after it was retaken from ISIS in November 2015. Some have been washed away by heavy winter rain, others exhumed by locals.

Following the military defeat of ISIS in Iraq in 2017, the Iraqi government, the International Commission on Missing Persons, and the United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
launched a campaign to exhume suspected mass grave sites in the Shingal area in March 2019.

The KRG High Committee for the Recognition of Genocide against Yezidi Kurds and other religious and ethnic minorities is also involved in the process.

Shingal is a disputed area claimed by both Erbil and Baghdad. Article 140 of the Iraqi constitution was supposed to have resolved the issue of disputed territories by 2007, but little progress has been made.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Jihadists kill 11 regime forces in Syria's northwest: monitor
[Rudaw] Jihadists in northwestern Syria on Thursday launched an attack on government forces killing at least 11 fighters, a war monitor said, following a series of regime advances in the area.

The deadly assault in a northern strip of Hama province, comes amid an escalation in violence in parts of the country's northwest held by Syria's former al-Qaeda affiliate Hayat Tahrir al-Sham
(HTS).

Damascus and its ally Russia have since late April ramped up deadly air strikes and rocket fire on the region, and fighters have clashed on its edges.

Thursday's attack by HTS turbans and allied jihadist groups in the village of Jibeen, follow a series of regime advances in the region in recent weeks, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights war monitor said.

"The Death Eaters are launching a counterattack," Observatory head Rami Abdul Rahman told AFP.

He said at least five jihadists were killed in ensuing festivities.

State news agency SANA said that turbans launched rocket attacks on a number of villages in northern Hama, destroying homes.

Syrian state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
said that Syrian troops thwarted the assault on the villages of Tal Maleh and Jibeen.

Meanwhile,
...back at the pound, the little lost dog had finished eating the rat terrier...
regime air strikes pounded the neighbouring province of Idlib and nearby areas on Thursday, as battles raged, the Britannia-based Observatory said.

One civilian was killed in the bombardment, according to the monitor.

More than 300 people have been killed by regime air strikes and shelling in the area since late April, according to the Observatory.

The bombardment has also displaced nearly 270,000 people in May alone, according to the UN.

A total of 24 health facilities and 35 schools have been hit in the latest escalation, according to the UN's humanitarian office.

Analysts predict that Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Horror of Homs...
and his allies will continue to chip away at the area, but not unleash a major assault that would create chaos on The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
's doorstep.

The conflict in Syria has killed more than 370,000 people since it started in 2011.
