Sushma Swaraj, Former Foreign Minister and BJP Stalwart, Passes Away at 67 After Heart Attack
New Delhi: Senior BJP leader and former foreign minister Sushma Swaraj passed away a while ago at AIIMS on Tuesday. The BJP veteran, who suffered a massive heart attack, died at the age of 67.
Her last Twitter post was about thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the government’s move on Kashmir stating that she was waiting for this day in her lifetime.
Known for being the 'Rescuer', Swaraj's ministry rescued over 900,000 Indians trapped, trafficked, held hostage or unlawfully arrested around the world over a period of four years. Including the 156 Indians evaced from Juba in 2016. Her quick wit and maternal demeanor was known to defuse any situation and disarm the crudest of adversaries. In her time, the foreign ministry parleyed with 186 members of the UN, she negotiated with everyone from ISIS to Taliban and chicoms, every time winning a favorable outcome for her Govt (if not the hostage). Always fun to travel with, a true friend in need and a human before a politician, which in India is rare.

Not necessarily. I have an AR-15 pistol. It's legal in Tennessee.

It is a short-barreled rifle. The modification consists of a few minutes work with a hacksaw.
I'm shocked, SHOCKED, I tell you that a person determined to engage in major illegalness would stop along the way to engage in lessor crimes. What we need is a law that criminals have to obey the law. That's the real crux of the problem.
Just for the record:
[South China Morning Post 28 Oct 2014] The British government's role in licensing the sale of arms to Hong Kong that could be used for "internal repression" has come under scrutiny.
John Stanley, chairman of the Committee on Arms Export Controls, has written to Business Secretary Vince Cable, asking him to clarify if "Made in the UK" tear gas canisters were used against pro-democracy protesters.
The letter, dated October 21, also contains a list of approved British export licences of lethal weapons to Hong Kong since 2012. Grenade launchers, mortar bombs, sniper rifles, machine guns and gun silencers are among the weapons, according to the committee's analysis.
What We Do - At Chemring, we use our world-class expertise and innovation to protect people, platforms, missions and information against constantly-changing threats. Supported by our core values of safety, excellence and innovation, we help to make the world a safer place for our customers with our high-tech sensors, information, countermeasures and energetics solutions.
[Bearing Arms] While some anti-gun activists may pay lip service to the Second Amendment, still others want to see it repealed. They argue that it’s a roadblock used to curtail gun control in the United States.
They’re not wrong. Of course, that’s a feature, not a bug. It exists primarily to do just that, prevent tyrants from disarming the American public.
For anti-gunners, though, they don’t see it that way. They somehow are able to oppose President Trump and call him a tyrant while simultaneously wanting to make sure he has authority over all the guns.
No, it doesn’t make sense to me either.
However, while some want to repeal our Second Amendment, activists in Hong Kong seem to have a very different opinion on that single sentence in our Constitution.

Lets talk scope.
I believe in gun ownership. If you don't own one you are irresponsible in regards to protecting the family.
When the Second Amendment was ratified by we the people, a gun was a one shot musket. 6 shooters were not even around yet.
My father, the proud owner of at least 10 guns of which one was an AR15 with a 30 round banana clip was a WWII vet. He fought the japs. He brought back a jap sword, medals, a jap bayonet. One of the souvenirs he was not allowed to keep per military and bring back home when he made it back to stateside was a jap machine gun. He took out the machine gun nest of 3 japs with a grenade and his 45. They did render a flesh wound to his leg during the conversation.
The shooter in Ohio had a gun that had a 100 round barrel clip. Dozens upon dozens of people were sitting ducks to this device bought "legally".
Should the Second Amendment include that device? Should the Second Amendment that was ratified to allow the people to have one shot muskets be modernized with some restrictions in modern times????

..the First Amendment cover a 'Free Press' which was a manually operated press, the technology of the times. It didn't envision radio, tv, cable, or mechanical automated printing.
The second militia act of 1792 required citizens to arm themselves - to wit
Militia members, referred to as "every citizen, so enrolled and notified", "...shall within six months thereafter, provide himself..." with a musket, bayonet and belt, two spare flints, a box able to contain not less than 24 suitable cartridges, and a knapsack. Alternatively, everyone enrolled was to provide himself with a powder horn, ¼ pound of gunpowder, 20 rifle balls, a shot-pouch, and a knapsack.
In simple language, the same equipment that the regular army soldiers of the time would carry. Remember they had just gotten rid of the King's army and we more than suspicious of any governmental standing army in their midst. By the standards so shown by the Founders, every able body citizen should be carrying the same standard weapon issued to our contemporary infantry.
An Ukranian AKM, a 12.7X45mm VKS very russian, a 2A1- Indian version of the SMLE Mk3 chambered for hog teeth, two very old 98 Ks more russians ! , a fully licensed snub nosed .32 Taurus for the yet more responsible wifey, and a disassembled 20mm anti-materiel (!) Vidhwansak - an Indian version of a South African 22 kilo lamentation.
I even have an IOF made willy pete lying around somewhere, I thought I'd use it on some diwali but it seemed like a waste. We once used them to burn drugs and counterfeit currency.
But my most prized possessions are these. Don't laugh. They're important.
This piece of shit is the staple weapon of the commonest Indian criminal, the ones no paperwork is needed to dispose of. Needless to say, a perforated body found with this in one hand and it's lone pathetic cartridge fired, the Lestrades pretty much take it from there.
Something way more important than using your fancy armaments, is knowing the traps and pitfalls SJW lawyers can use to put you away for protecting yourself ! Of course this whole approach is very Indian. American gun rights and your stand-your-ground laws give you so many easy choices.

I have seen over and over law enforcement armed with hand guns take out an rookie offender who was armed with an assault weapon.
The exception was in Dallas where 12 police officers were shot by one well trained ex-army veteran armed with an assault weapon. But he had a huge element of surprise on the unexpecting officers.
Precopius2k presented the position that the US 2nd Amendment supporters have always maintained for a couple hundred years. However, now infantry have weapons that fire 800 rounds a minute and in one case a US soldier took out almost a dozen AK47 armed jihadi's in a house going room by room with that infantry weapon.
Just like computer technology, small arms technology is getting smaller and more devastatingly more powerful.
As compared with iron sights? Goofing aside, the 2nd Amendment is not about hardware, it's about protecting yourself from an abusive government.
After any successful revolution, the first order of business, after throwing their rascals out and putting our rascals in, is making sure nobody overthrows *us*. Tasks like executing suspected traitors, settling old scores, and of course, confiscating guns.
Our Founding Fathers took a different approach. Having a profound distrust of governments, or perhaps just a deep understanding of human nature, they built a system to limit government overreach. The right to bear arms is a critical part of that.
Just one more reason why America is the most interesting political experiment in the last few hundred years.
“Woo hoo, boys — now we can really do some serious tunnel building!”

The US and the EU have both classified the PFLP a terrorist entity.

A subsidiary of Naim Ateek's and a fund raiser and instigator against Israel, in SA. Muhammed Desai worked with and operated a wing of Sabeel, a supposedly 'christian' ecumenical group founded by Naim Ateek, partnered and promoted by the Presbyterian Church (USA). It's activities included luring youth with promise of christian fraternity and teaching, only to shift midway into discussions of 'all Abrahamic Faiths' and the commonalities of the three eschatons. They have some madarsas and recruitment drives in India too, two of which were flagged as 'divisive' last year. Sabeel is a key player in Israel-delegitimization activism.

[AnNahar] Tunisia's defense ministry said Monday it had prevented 53 Ivorian and Sudanese citizens from illegally entering the country, a move condemned by NGOs as a violation of rights.
On Sunday, two groups -- 33 Ivorians and 20 Sudanese -- arriving from Libya by land were arrested by military units in the southern border area of Medenine and sent back to Libyan territory, the defense ministry said.
The units asked the groups to enter via official border crossings, the ministry said in a statement.
But on a video shared on Sunday on social media, the apparent migrants colonists -- who include women and kiddies -- say that they have been abandoned in the desert by the Tunisian authorities without food or water.
"We don't know what to do... we need help," one of them said, describing his group as Ivorian.
AFP was not able to verify the video, which was reposted by the Tunisian Forum for Economic and Social Rights.
In a joint statement, that NGO and other rights groups decried a "violation of migrants colonists' rights."
The statement said 36 -- rather than 33 -- Ivorians had been intercepted, including 11 women and three babies, who were "abandoned in a tough climate."
The NGOs requested on Sunday that the Tunisian authorities allow the "migrants colonists to enter urgently into Tunisian territory so that they can be taken care of by humanitarian organizations".
A July report by the Tunisian Forum for Economic and Social Rights said that the number of asylum-seekers arriving via land borders more than doubled in the first half of 2019.
A total of 1,008 people entered Tunisia illegally over six months, compared to 417 in the first half of 2018, it said.
Many were sub-Saharan Africans arriving through Libya.
"The aim of the majority of them is to leave (Tunisia) towards Europe ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... by sea, while some have left Libya fleeing the security situation," the report said.

[AlAhram] North Korea ...hereditary Communist monarchy distinguished by its truculence and periodic acts of violence. Distinguishing features include Songun (Army First) policy, which involves feeding the army before anyone but the Dear Leadership, and Juche, which is Kim Jong Il's personal interpretation of Marxism-Leninism, which he told everybody was brilliant. In 1950 the industrialized North invaded agrarian South Korea. Twenty-one countries of the United Nations eventually contributed to the UN force opposing the invasion, with the United States providing around 90% of the military personnel. Seventy years later the economic results are in and it doesn't look good for Juche... has generated an estimated $2 billion for its weapons of mass destruction programs using "widespread and increasingly sophisticated" cyber attacks to steal from banks and cryptocurrency exchanges, according to a confidential UN report seen by Rooters on Monday.
Pyongyang also "continued to enhance its nuclear and missile programmes although it did not conduct a nuclear test or ICBM (Intercontinental Ballistic Missile) launch," said the report to the UN Security Council North Korea sanctions committee by independent experts monitoring compliance over six months.
The North Korean mission to the United Nations ...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks... did not respond to a request for comment on the report, which was submitted to the Security Council committee last week.
The experts said North Korea "used cyberspace to launch increasingly sophisticated attacks to steal funds from financial institutions and cryptocurrency exchanges to generate income." They also used cyberspace to launder the stolen money, the report said.
"Democratic People's Republic of Korea cyber actors, many operating under the direction of the Reconnaissance General Bureau, raise money for its WMD (weapons of mass destruction) programmes, with total proceeds to date estimated at up to two billion US dollars," the report said.
North Korea is formally known as the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK). The Reconnaissance General Bureau is a top North Korean military intelligence agency.
The UN experts said North Korea's attacks against cryptocurrency exchanges allowed it "to generate income in ways that are harder to trace and subject to less government oversight and regulation than the traditional banking sector."
The Security Council has unanimously imposed sanctions on North Korea since 2006 in a bid to choke off funding for Pyongyang’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs. The Council has banned exports including coal, iron, lead, textiles and seafood, and capped imports of crude oil and refined petroleum products.
The UN experts said that despite the diplomatic efforts, their "investigations show continued violations" of UN sanctions.
"For example, the DPRK continued to violate sanctions through ongoing illicit ship-to-ship transfers and procurement of WMD-related items and luxury goods," the UN report said.
[AlAhram] A Nigerian judge ruled on Monday that the detained leader of a banned Nigerian Shia Moslem group could seek medical treatment abroad, after a series of protests calling for his release turned violent last month. Abroad = in Iran?
Nigeria banned the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) in July after a week of protests in which the group said at least 20 of its members were killed in police crackdowns. Police gave no corpse count.
The group's leader, Ibrahim Zakzaky, has been held since 2015 when government forces killed around 350 people in a storming of its compound and a nearby mosque. He has not been released despite a court order to that effect, and the IMN said his detention is illegal.
The judge in a court in the northwestern city of Kaduna granted Zakzaky and his wife leave to seek medical treatment in India under supervision of state officials.
India? Mr. Wife spent an interesting few weeks in a hospital in Bhopal after contracting amoebic dysentery. His local colleagues took wonderful care of him, and phoned me every day to lie about his condition until he really was able to be sent home. Not someplace to be hospitalized without local friends, though, as far as I can tell.
Zakzaky's lawyers have said that while in detention, Zakzaky lost an eye to advanced glaucoma and risks losing the other, while shrapnel lodged in his body since the 2015 storming of the IMN compound was causing lead poisoning.
The government says IMN incites violence, and a court has given the authorities permission to label it a terrorist organization. IMN denies it is violent, and says Zakzaky should be released in line with a December 2016 court order.
IMN is the largest Shia organization in a country where around half of the population is Moslem, overwhelmingly Sunni.

[AlAhram] A presidential committee tasked with rectifying the status of unlicensed Christian places of worship, chaired by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, approved on Monday legalizing 88 churches and service buildings that used to be operating without permit.
This brings to 1,109 the total number of unlicensed Christian places of worship and service buildings that have been granted legal status so far in Egypt.
In statements on Monday, Cabinet Spokesman said that the committee reviewed the outcome of studies conducted over the past four months to consider applications submitted by unlicensed churches aiming to legalize their status.
Meanwhile, ...back at the pie fight, Bella went down under the weight of the custard... the premier issued strict instructions to all governors to take all measures necessary to follow up the work of the committee and to coordinate with the heads of the Christian sects in order to meet the civil protection's conditions for the rest of the churches.

[AlAhram] The Cairo Court for Urgent Matters has designated on Saturday the holy warrior group "Hasm", which grabbed credit for a number of deadly attacks on security forces as well as liquidation attempts on public figures over the past year, as a terrorist group.
The little-known group claimed the liquidation attempt on the deputy prosecutor general in September 2016 as well as the liquidation attempt on leading Islamic holy man Ali Gomaa in August of the same year.
In December 2016, Hasm also grabbed credit for a deadly explosion at a police checkpoint in the Haram district in Giza, which killed 6 coppers and left 4 injured.
In mid-January, the High State Security Prosecution referred 304 people to military trials for alleged membership in Hasm.
Last week, Cairo Court for Urgent Matters also designated a group calling itself the "Popular Resistance" a terrorist organization. The group, which was formed in 2014, first gained widespread attention in June 2015 when it grabbed credit for the murder of the country's chief prosecutor, Hisham Barakat, in Cairo.
Since 2013, the Egyptian government has linked most of the holy warrior groups in the country which announced responsibility for attacks on security forces to the banned Moslem Brüderbund organization.
The government declared the Moslem Brüderbund a terrorist organization in December 2013 as the government blamed the group for a number of deadly attacks on security forces in the aftermath of the ouster of Islamist former president Mohammed Morsi in July of that year.

[NPR] Higher prices will be coming to stores this fall, retailers warn, if President Trump follows through with his threat to slap new tariffs on Chinese imports. The End is Near.... according to NPR, Target, COSCO, Walmart, etc.
The White House pressed the tariff threat on Friday, even as Trump announced a new agreement aimed at boosting beef exports to Europe. A day earlier, Trump threatened to set a new 10% tariff on $300 billion worth of products imported from China.
Rising trade tensions prompted another sell-off on Wall Street on Friday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down nearly 100 points, or 0.4%, recovering from steeper losses earlier in the day.
More than 40% of all the clothes sold in the United States are made in China, as are nearly 70% of the shoes and 88% of the toys.

These items have been largely untouched by the tariffs the president has already imposed on China over the past year. But they'll almost certainly be on the target list if additional tariffs are imposed Sept. 1.

If you lock the border up, then when this would happen should correspond to drops in welfare, food stamps, et al. Thus reducing the cost in tax burden (matched by a reduction in bureaucracy). However, given the propensity of politicians to spend, spend, spend, it isn't going to happen.
As alluded to, we'll have to make choices. Prioritize our spending accordingly. Any retailer that has made a 'critical' product dependent upon China should pay the price for doing so in the marketplace.
BTW, what are they going to do if Beijing does another Tienanmen Square in Hong Kong and a grass roots movement engages in a boycott of "Made in China".

as Besoeker noted, US gets about half of its footwear from China
so what happens
say the cost at the Port of Entry is $10.00. The current duty is about $1.50. Post tariff the duty plus tariff would be $4.00. So, assuming a $40 for logistics, marketing, celebrity endorsers, buying off the groups that would otherwise protest the slave labor, profits, etc. the final price would be $54.00 instead of $51.50.

Here's a thought: all the lefty billionaires posturing and preening about racism could commit their firms' shifting some significant amount of their production to American counties where the minority unemployment rate exceeds 10%.
I.e. the likes of Apple, Nike, Disney etc would produce some significant % of their iPhones, Jordans and Frozen or Avengers Action Dolls in West Baltimore. Detroit. New Orleans. East St. Louis. Cleveland. Newark. Memphis. Oakland. S. Central LA.
Start doing some good for actual Americans.
And STFU.
[Breitbart] China’s state-run media quickly seized on the obsessions of their American counterparts over the weekend by linking President Donald Trump to "white nationalism" and blaming gun violence on the large supply of firearms and loose gun laws in the United States.
The Chinese Communist Party’s Global Times worked the "white supremacist" angle on Sunday, citing the manifesto left by El Paso, Texas, alleged mass murderer Patrick Crusius:
A hate crime is motivated by prejudice, and the victim is targeted because of their social group or race. Many US states have their hate crime laws. However, the number of hate crimes has increased in the US in recent years. This shows that US social conflicts are rising and the problem of racial discrimination is especially serious. The El Paso shooting has worsened fears of the increasing white supremacist threat in the North American country.
More importantly, although US President Donald Trump called the El Paso shooting a "hateful act" on Twitter, he has not yet recognized the seriousness of the white supremacist problem. What’s worse, white nationalism is deeply rooted in Trump’s mind. This can be seen from his attitude toward immigration, his insistence on building a border wall and his racist tweets. Instead of resolving the problem, he is even inciting white American people’s hatred.
The astute observer will note that China is not exactly eager to take in large numbers of migrants or refugees from beyond its borders. China takes border security very seriously, especially for the parts of its border that occasionally move further away from Beijing, deploys hardcore nationalist political themes on a daily basis, and is not gentle with minority populations or respectful of their beliefs.
One area where Communist China cannot be accused of hypocrisy is its advocacy of stricter gun control. The Global Times declared the U.S. "urgently needs gun control," although it acknowledged that "if the shooters’ hatred is not eliminated, they can still use other weapons to vent their anger on innocent people."

[BREITBART] Monday on MSNBC’s "Morning Joe," Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-TX) told President Donald Trump ...Oh, noze! Not him!... he was not "welcome" to visit El Paso, TX, following the shooting by someone who reportedly posted a manifesto online railing against immigrants colonists.
Escobar said it is "probably unfair" to say the Trump rally held in El Paso in February is the cause of the attack, but said the president needs to "do a little self-reflection" on his rhetoric and actions at his rallies.
"It is shocking to me that [Trump] is so utterly self-aware," Escobar lamented. "And this is why from my perspective, he is not welcome here. He should not come here while we are in mourning."
She added, "I would encourage the president’s staff members to have him do a little self-reflection. I would encourage them to show him his own words and his actions at the rallies because we’re not going to get past this until there’s acknowledgment from the very top that we need to heal, that this whole country is hurting, that there has been bigotry and racism and hatred that has been stoked at all levels. And as the president, he has the most significant authority and responsibility to show this country, to lead this country into healing. And now is the time, and he needs to accept responsibility, everyone does, for what has gotten us to this point."

...that there has been bigotry and racism and hatred that has been stoked at all levels.
Nope - it's coming entirely from you cock****ers. What's really happening is Trump complains and criticizes you assholes, and that becomes the story, a.k.a. 'Republicans pounce & seize' Obama perfected this technique early in his first term, and I'm not buying it anymore.

Innit funny, the same people who think illegals should be "welcome" here "just because," also think a bona-fide US citizen, the President of the United States, no less, can't go anywhere he wants. FOAD, assh*les, FOAD.

"...now is the time, and he needs to accept responsibility, everyone does, for what has gotten us to this point."
What got us here was you and your colleagues turning away from the consensus that illegal immigration is intolerable.
Your lies and BS, your "sanctuary cities" and "God's children" nonsense gave us over 20 million illiterate third world peasant lawbreakers who have no right whatsoever to even be in this country.
As recently as 2010, even Obama and Clinton were denouncing this madness. Every sentient, honest American sees how self-destructive and utterly insane your preferred policy is.
You people and your mad policy created Trump. You people created the loathing and resentment of freeloading illegals.
Now STFU and do your own "reflecting." Think on your sins.

Charger, I've been that way for years. More people on the right would do it if they saw what I see when I let a leftist know their opinion is irrelevant to me: a look of fear that says "He's on to our scam..."

[ALMASDARNEWS] Army engineers working in and around the settlements of al-Jabeen and Tal Melh in Hama province, northwestern Syria have discovered a haul of heavy military equipment including a modified T-55 tank, a white jeep of the kind used by ISIS (ISIS)*during its campaigns across Syria and Iraq, and heavy weapons including recoilless rifles, mortar launchers, heavy machine guns and boxes of ammunition of various calibers, SANA has reported.
The find comes following operations in June to clear the remnants of terrorist militias hiding out in rural Hama, with the Syrian army reportedly deploying its elite Tiger Forces formation to the area to win back control of al-Jabeen, Tal Melh and other settlements.

The Knoxville News Sentinel reports that the defendants have until mid-August to respond to the lawsuit filed last month by Michael Frey and Dr. Mohannad Azzam. It says the plaintiffs founded Diverse Medical Management to reform failing rural hospitals, and Jim Biden promised to sell the health care plan to investors.
It says Biden and Lewitt then urged the plaintiffs to borrow $10 million from Lewitt that would be repaid by investors. But the investors never materialized. It says Lewitt then threatened to sue the plaintiffs for not making payments on the borrowed cash. The defendants' attorney, George Mesires, said he had no comment.

Despite these claims, the Death Eaters have denied firing any missiles towards the Hmeimim Airbase.
Typically, the Death Eaters use attack drones to bomb the Hmeimim Airbase; however, very few details were released by the Russian Ministry of Defense regarding this attack.

Copycat behavior is a bigger factor in mass shootings than any ideology.
The best way to reverse the trend is to impose a news embargo on any details of any mass shooting.
Come to think of it, just ask the media to treat mass shootings the way they treat urban violence and shootings: bury the story on the back pages. Brief description of counts, location, time of day. No details at all about the shooter.

[ToloNews] Police said the earth-shattering kaboom happened in a market in the city of Herat ...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns... on Monday evening.
At least four non-combatants were killed and 25 more maimed as a result of an IED explosion in the western city of Herat on Monday evening, the provincial police said.
The IED was embedded to a cycle of violence and exploded in Haji Abbas vicinity in police district 12 (PD12) of the city.
"The corpse count may rise," said Farzad Frotan, acting head of the media department of Herat Police Headquarters.
Majority of the victims are local business owners, he said.
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... is planning to launch a large-scale military operation against the People’s Protection Units (YPG) in northern Syria, Ottoman Turkish President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First ...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really more important... confirmed on Sunday.
Erdogan stated that he has informed his Russian and U.S. counterparts about the military operation, which he said would specifically target areas controlled by the YPG and the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).
"We entered Afrin, Jarabulus, and al-Bab [in northern Syria], and now we’re going to enter east of the Euphrates," Recep Tayyip Erdogan told an inauguration ceremony in Bursa.
"We shared this [information] with the U.S. and Russia," he added.
Erdogan and his administration have often referenced the PKK in Syria, despite the fact that the organization controls no territory inside the country.
[Rudaw] Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it seized an Iraqi vessel transporting smuggled fuel in the Persian Gulf as part of a continuing effort to combat organized fuel smuggling in the area, as the United States attempts to form a coalition to guard the highly strategic Strait of Hormuz oil transport route.
"On Wednesday evening, July 31 at 21:30, the patrol boats of the Second District Command of IRGC naval forces...seized a foreign ship carrying fuel," said Second Brigadier Ramezan Zirahi, the 2nd Naval District Commander in the Persian Gulf.
The vessel was later confirmed to be "an Iraqi ship," according to the Guard-affiliated IRNA news agency.
"The ship had received fuel from other ships and was in the process of transporting it to Arab countries in the Persian Gulf...the ship which contained 700,000 liters of fuel was stopped and its seven foreign crews were arrested."
Fuel smuggling often takes the form of a larger vessel hovering close to Iranian waters to collect fuel, usually oil, from several, smaller vessels. The statement did not give the nationality of the vessel crew detained in the operation.
The IRGC has divided its coastline in the Persian Gulf into five districts. The commanders of all five were placed on a US Treasury sanctions list in June following the downing of a US reconnaissance drone.
Tehran has been under intense economic pressure after the US government withdrew from the 2015 nuclear deal in May 2018, re-imposing crippling sanctions on the country six months later.
US cancellation of oil waivers to eight main customers of Iranian oil in May have been particularly damaging. Rooters reported that Iranian oil exports have dropped from around 2.5 million barrels per day (bpd) in April 2018 to just 100,000 bpd in July of this year.
President Hassan Rouhani and other officials have conceded that US sanctions have dealt a serious blow to the Iranian economy, but maintain that Tehran will not budge under what it calls "economic terrorism."
Tensions between Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan, the abbreviation IRGC is a cognate form of Stürmabteilung (or SA), the term Supreme Guide is a cognate form of either Shah or Führer or maybe both, and they hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... and the US and its allies was worsened by the IRGC’s July 19 seizure of a British flagged vessel, in response to the early July seizure of an oil tanker carrying two million barrels of Iranian oil believed to have been bound for sanction- afflicted Syria by the British Royal Marines.
A New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... investigation revealed on Saturday that Iran is continuing to sell its oil in defiance of sanctions.
"The Times examined the movements of more than 70 Iranian tankers since May 2, when the American sanctions took full effect. Twelve of the tankers loaded oil after May 2 and delivered it to China or the Eastern Mediterranean, where the buyers may have included Syria or The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...Qatar's colony in Asia Minor... ," according to the investigation.

Seriously don't do this guarding shit!
Treat them like the assholes they are!
Get a older parked tanker (one of those always parked in Indonesian waters.) Fill some of the tanks with methane or propane and some sprayers and remote controls for sprayers, igniters and remote control of the the ship.
Put on new paint and a great big US flag.
Pilot it up the gulf near Iran's sea border.
When they swarm on it to capture it, let them get aboard. Remotely turn on the gas sprayers and make it a nice fuel air explosive and ignite it.
Rinse and repeat until they quit attacking US flagged ships.

Previously, he was the UN High Commissioner for Refugees between 2005 and 2015. He served as President of the Socialist International from 1999 to 2005. In both a 2012 and 2014 poll, the Portuguese public ranked him as the best Prime Minister of the previous 30 years... urged India and Pakistain to exercise restraint, his front man said on Monday, after India revoked the special status of Kashmire, the Himalayan region that has long been a flashpoint in ties with neighboring Pakistain.
"We urge all parties to exercise restraint," UN front man Stephane Dujarric told news hounds, adding that UN peacekeepers observing a cease-fire between India and Pakistain in the state of Jammu and Kashmire "has observed and reported an increase in military activity along the line of control."
In the most far-reaching political move in one of the world’s most militarised regions in nearly seven decades, India said it would scrap a constitutional provision that allows the state of Jammu and Kashmire to make its own laws.
"The entire constitution will be applicable to Jammu and Kashmire," Interior Minister Amit Shah told parliament, as opposition politicians voiced loud protests against the repeal.
Foreign ministry officials later briefed envoys of several countries on the changes to the state’s administrative status, saying they were aimed at promoting good governance, social justice and economic development.
The government also lifted a ban on property purchases by non-residents, opening the way for Indians to invest and settle there, just as they can elsewhere in India. The measure is likely to provoke a backlash in the region.
Pakistain, which also claims Kashmire, said it strongly condemned the decision, which is bound to further strain ties between the nuclear-armed rivals.
Pakistain Prime Minister Imran Khan ... aka The Great Khan, who ain't the sharpest bulb on the national tree... said the move "was in clear violation of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions" in the region, according to a statement released after a telephone call with Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad on Monday evening.
"As the party to this international dispute, Pakistain will exercise all possible options to counter the illegal steps," its foreign ministry said in a statement.
India and Pakistain have fought two of their three wars over Kashmire, where a nearly 30-year armed revolt has killed tens of thousands of people. Hundreds of thousands of Indian troops have been deployed to quell it.
India blames that rebellion on Pakistain, which denies the accusation, saying that it backs the right to self-determination for Kashmire.
[Libya Observer] The head of the High Council of State (HCS), Khalid al-Mishri said that the UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame bears the consequences of the repeated bombardment of Mitiga Airport, because of what he said "the deliberate fallacies" in his recent briefing to the UN Security Council.
In a press statement, al-Mishri said that the inaccuracies in Salame's briefing before the Security Council interpret as a green light for continuing bombing the civil and only airport that links the region with the outside world, putting the lives of thousands of passengers at risk.

"The presence of American troops in the country is a sovereign decision and the local government (of Anbar) cannot take any decision on that score," Duleimi added.
He went on to say that the provincial council of Anbar has "no any information about the number of American troops stationed at the Ain Assad Air Base in western Anbar and the Royal Air Force Station Habbaniya in eastern Ramadi."

[ALMASDARNEWS] An Israeli reconnaissance aircraft almost entered Syrian airspace on Sunday, prompting a potential confrontation between the two forces, the Russian aviation website Avia.Pro reported.
"A few hours ago, an Israeli military reconnaissance aircraft was in the Golan Heights’ (the territory occupied by Israel) airspace, approaching the Syrian borders at a distance of 7 kilometers, making it an extremely fat target even for outdated Syrian systems air defense," the aviation website reported.
Flight route of the Israeli aircraft and its approach to the Syrian border, as shared by Avia.Pro.
"We can say with confidence that the pro-Syrian forces would not have left the Israeli reconnaissance aircraft a single chance if the latter had crossed the airspace boundary, which is only about 30 seconds of flight ," a military expert told Avia.Pro.
Israel often conducts close border flights in Leb and Syria; however, they rarely enter the latter without actually launching an attack against the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies.
Last week, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) attacked the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions at a military outpost in the town of Tal Bariqa.
[DW] Germany's federal police force has said 71 of its officers were maimed last year while carrying out deportations, according to a media report. The injuries, for the most part, were not severe.
Germany's federal police have said that "of the 284 officers attacked during repatriations, 71 were maimed" in 2018, according to a report Sunday in the Welt am Sonntag newspaper.
The figures only pertain to incidents related to deportation flights, for which the federal police are responsible. Germany's state-level police handle transportation to the airport for people slated to be deported.
There were 274 recorded instances of officers being attacked in 2017.
USUALLY NOT SEVERE
Ernst Walter, union leader for the federal police, told the Welt am Sonntag that officers endured "kicks, hits and head-butts during deportations." He added that the injuries were usually not severe, because the officers were specially trained to deal with such situations. Time for hickory shampoo applications, wash, rinse, repeat
The exact "type or severity of the injury" was not recorded.
Decline in deportations
According to Federal Interior Ministry figures for last year, 23,617 rejected asylum-seekers were deported in 2018, less than the two years prior.
Roughly 31,000 deportations in that same period failed for various reasons, often because of missing travel documents. A total of 1,637 deportations had to be called off due to "acts of resistance" at airports.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) is giving the gunnies until the end of Eid (August 16th) to withdraw from the demilitarized zone in northwestern Syria, an official source from the military told al-Masdar News this morning.
According to the source, the Syrian Arab Army will continue to target the gunnies inside the demilitarized zone until they withdraw.
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Indian government on Monday sent at least 8,000 additional paramilitary troops to Jammu and Kashmire after the president revoked a constitutional article granting a special status to the contested state, NDTV broadcaster reported, citing sources.
Additional troops are being carried by C-17 transport planes of the Indian Air Force to Srinagar, which is the largest city in the state, the NDTV broadcaster reported. The troops are set to ensure increased security and will add to the over 35,000 soldiers that were sent there over the last week.
Earlier in the day, Article 370 of the Indian constitution, which grants Jammu and Kashmire state a special status, was revoked by a presidential decree. The move envisages that Jammu and Kashmire will become two union territories with a legislative authority directly controlled by the federal government. The bill on removing the constitutional article has yet to be approved by the parliament.
On Saturday, Pakistain accused India of using cluster munitions to kill civilians along the Line of Control. According to Islamabad, at least two non-combatants were killed and 11 more seriously injured in the attack. The accusations were voiced one day after New Delhi announced it would be significantly boosting its forces in Jammu and Kashmire.
[ALMASDARNEWS] The holy warrior forces in northwestern Syria have refused to withdraw from the 20-kilometer-deep demilitarized zone around the Aleppo, Latakia, Hama, and Idlib governorates.
As a result of this withdrawal, the hostilities along the demilitarized zone have once again restarted, with both sides trading attacks along the Idlib-Hama axis.
According to a most a recent report from the Hama Governorate, the Syrian Arab Army unleashed a barrage of artillery and missiles towards the holy warrior-held towns of Zakah, al-Latamnah, and Kafr Zita.
However, there's no worse danger than telling a mother her baby is ugly... the hostilities have hardly dissipated since the conditional ceasefire was put in place last Thursday, as both sides traded artillery strikes in this same area.
The conditional ceasefire agreement was meant to end these hostilities and prevent the Syrian Army from pushing deeper into the holy warrior-held areas of northwestern Syria, but Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else ...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State... ’s recent refusal to withdraw from the demilitarized zone has cancelled this deal.
[Libya Observer] The Interior Minister of the Interim Government of eastern Libya Ibrahim Bushanaf has accused "terrorist groups" and "sleeper cells" of kidnapping the member of the House of Representatives (HoR) Siham Sergiwa, adding that the case is still under investigation.
The Interior Minister said Sunday that one of Sergiwa's family member is responsible for her abduction as "he said she wasn't at home when the attack happened, thus hindering the work of the security apparatuses."
Sergiwa was kidnapped two weeks ago from her house after her husband and son were beaten and shot.
Sources from Benghazi confirmed that Awliaa al-Dam Brigade and Haftar-son-led Brigade 106 - both working under Haftar's command - were responsible for the crime, which was also confirmed by a CNN report.
According to observers. the aim of the statement of the Interior Minister is to cast away any accusations of the crime and throw them at "terrorist groups" before actually announcing that the HoR member was killed "by terrorists!"
Meanwhile, ...back at the shootout, Butch shot Black Bart's gun out of his hand...... the Head of the Quilliam Think tank Noman Benotman and former advisor to Haftar confirmed that Sergiwa was killed since day one of abduction.
[Daily Excelsior] In a bold decision aimed at tackling head-on the vexed 72-year old Kashmire problem, Narendra Modi Government today re-wrote history of Jammu and Kashmire by ending its special status which the State enjoyed in the form of Articles 370 and 35-A and proposed re-organization of Jammu and Kashmire by bifurcating the State into two Union Territories-one the J&K with Legislature like New Delhi and Puducherry and another Ladakh without Legislature like five other UTs in the country.
After hectic day-long debate, the Rajya Sabha late this evening approved the Resolution proposing revocation of Article 370 and a Bill to split the State into two Union Territories.
President Ram Nath Kovind this morning issued a notification titled `The Constitution (Application to Jammu and Kashmire) Order, 2019′ scrapping Article 370, which had been applied to Jammu and Kashmire in 1949 as a temporary provision. The abrogation of Article 370 automatically rendered Article 35-A null and void, which had been incorporated by a Presidential order in 1954.

[DAWN] Pakistain on Monday said that it would "exercise all possible options to counter the illegal steps" taken by India regarding Indian-Indian Kashmiree (IoK).
The comments came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government introduced plans to weaken the special rights of residents in occupied Kashmire, amid heavy deployment of security forces and suspension of phone and internet services in the valley.
In a blurb, the Foreign Office (FO) strongly condemned and rejected the move by the Indian government, stressing that IoK was internationally recognised as a disputed territory.
"No unilateral step by the Government of India can change this disputed status, as enshrined in the United Nations ...an idea whose time has gone... Security Council (UNSC) resolutions," read the statement. "The decision will never be acceptable to the people of IoK and Pakistain."
"As the party to this international dispute, Pakistain will exercise all possible options to counter the illegal steps," the statement read while reaffirming Pakistain's commitment to the Kashmiri cause.

They would do well to remember that an uncouth, volatile entity like the Taliban is a friend to no one, and seasonally available for rent to the highest bidder. And India has money to burn.
If India ever went extra-legal, we could make it so, that the prospects for the military-politician nexus in Pak become untenable for current leaders and wannabes. We could seriously screw things up. But we don't. A centuries old cultural connection between our largely unwitting populations, and the Hindu hubris of being a 'force for good and peace' have always prevented India from playing dirty.
In fact, India has been the most anal-retentive stickler for legality and convention in the international context. But Pakistain has a tendency to bring out the worst in people around it.

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) ‐ The presence of American troops in Iraq came at a request of the Iraqi government to improve combat skills of the country’s army, U.S. Ambassador in Baghdad Matthew Tueller said on Sunday.

Tueller stressed that the U.S. government listed hardline Iraqi Shiite militia Harakat Hezbollah Al Nujaba and the Lebanese Hezbollah as terrorist groups for their cooperation with krazed killer organizations and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iraq.
Tensions have risen recently between Washington and Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. holy warrior group, an affiliate of the Moslem brotherhood, the interior ministry said Monday.
The explosion took place outside Egypt’s National Cancer Institute after a car collided with three other vehicles as it drove against traffic on Cairo’s corniche.
Given that it’s Egypt, no doubt that in addition to driving very fast against traffic, it was a one way street and they had their lights off “to save the battery”.
The interior ministry said a technical inspection indicated "an amount of explosives was inside the car, which caused it to explode when it collided."
President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi described the blast as a "terrorist incident". In a social media post, he offered his condolences to the victims' families and the Egyptian people.
At least 20 people were killed and 47 were injured including some in critical condition, in a blast caused by the car collision on midnight Monday in front of the NCI building in Manyal neghbourhood.
The ministry said the explosives laden vehicle was reported stolen a few months ago in Menoufiya.
According to the ministry, the vehicle was on its way to carry out a terrorist operation, although the site of the planned attack is unclear.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, rifle-wielding Connor Betts rampaged through a Dayton entertainment district, killing his sister and eight other people and leaving dozens of others maimed before police potted him.
"I want socialism, and i’ll not wait for the idiots to finally come round to understanding," he wrote in one tweet, according to Heavy.com.
The breaking-news outlet said it had found Betts’ Twitter page (handle @iamthespookster) and verified that the account belonged to the gunman "through multiple verification factors, including a matching tattoo on both a page selfie and prominent news outlets’ pictures of Connor Betts; several family linkages to the page; similar photos, including of him and the family dog, on the page and family members’ verified accounts; and references to college and growing up in Ohio and Dayton."
The Twitter account painted a picture of a left-wing anarchist and discontent, very far from the anti-immigration manifesto posted by Saturday’s El Paso gunman.

And a copycat. By far the most important factor in predicting the next mass shooting.
Anyone who claims to be serious about ending this contagion needs to recognize that it is in fact a contagion - diffused by our mass media and especially social media.
We will not see a decline in these outbreaks until and unless we enforce a strict news embargo on the release of info about any mass shooter's identity and "manifesto" or other bid for media glory and immortality.
That will no doubt be much appreciated as the price of oil stays low.
[Rudaw] Close to $1.1 billion in stolen and misused public funds have been returned to state coffers in the first six months of 2019, Iraq’s Integrity Commission announced on Monday, as anti-corruption efforts remain a forefront issue in Iraqi politics.
The Integrity Commission report covers all of Iraq’s provinces except those of the Kurdistan Region, which has its own commission.
According to the anti-corruption watchdog, 1.3 trillion Iraqi dinars ‐ approximately 1.1 billion US dollars - were returned to the state treasury between January and June 2019.
The Commission looked into 9,571 claims, court cases and news reports relating to corruption and public fund wasting. 1,939 suspects were referred to a trial court, including five unnamed ministers, while 100 "special degree" individuals and director generals were also referred.
There were 857 arrest warrants issued, 407 of which were carried out, added the report.
Of 838 court cases, 442 ended in conviction on corruption charges. Punishment handed down by the court included fines, and jail sentences of anywhere from three years to life.
There were 306 operations aiming to seize funds that had been misappropriated through bribery, theft of public funds, extortion, and counterfeiting; 197 of these operations saw funds being retrieved.
Anti-corruption reform has been spoken of as a priority by Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi, who established the Supreme Anti-Corruption Council in January in a bid to coordinate government, police and judiciary efforts to tackle corruption.
He had previously condemned Iraq’s endemic corruption while speaking in parliament, noting its presence in sectors as diverse as oil trade, the prison system, and healthcare.

(ISIS) in December 2017, political focus appeared to turn to anti-corruption reform, which took center stage in party campaigns for last year’s parliamentary election.
Misappropriation of funds has been a constant thorn in Iraq’s side, with billions of dollars earmarked for post-Iraq War reconstruction being lost to waste and corruption. Iraq is one of the world's most corrupt nations, ranking 168th out of 180 countries in the Transparency International corruption perception index.
Established in 2004, the Integrity Commission, though an independent body, works under the oversight of the Iraqi parliament. It was responsible for bringing to light widespread corruption in Iraq’s Nineveh province in April, retrieving $64 million in lost funds.
[ARABNEWS] Britannia said on Monday it was joining a US-led maritime security mission in the Gulf to protect merchant vessels traveling through the Strait of Hormuz.
Last month, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards seized a British tanker, Stena Impero, near the Strait of Hormuz for alleged marine violations after Britannia seized an Iranian oil tanker near Gibraltar, accusing it of violating sanctions on Syria.
"We look forward to working alongside the US and others to find an international solution to the problems in the Strait of Hormuz," Defense Minister Ben Wallace told news hounds.

It is noteworthy that today, al-Hashd al-Shaabi and army forces launched the third phase of operation "Will of Victory", to search and secure areas located north of Jalula and Mukdadiyah in Diyala, in addition to areas south of Nineveh.
Last month, Joint Operations Command announced launching the second phase of operation "Will of Victory", yesterday, to boost stability in the areas north of Baghdad, in addition to the vicinity of the provinces of Diyala, Salahuddin and Anbar.
Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) – Iraqi authorities announced on Monday that six members of the Islamic State militant group were killed Monday in an Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... in Nineveh province.
In a blurb carried by the privately-owned Alsumaria News TV channel, the Iraqi Security Media Cell said that the air raid was launched based on intelligence information to eliminate IS remnants in Nineveh province.
No further details were given about the operation but security forces used to target Islamic State gatherings since the collapse of the terrorist group’s territorial influence in Iraq in November 2017.
[Rudaw] Protesters blocked the Mosul-Erbil road on Monday to oppose the removal of a Hashd al-Shaabi unit, in a sign of the difficulties Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi faces in reining in the militia.
Footage of pro-Hashd protesters clashing with security forces in Bazwaia in east Mosul has emerged on social media.
“The Iraqi Prime Minister issued an order that forces all Hashd al-Shaabi paramilitias to leave the Nineveh Plain and be stationed outside of it,” Sirwan Rozhbayani, deputy governor of Mosul province, told Rudaw English on Monday.
“The protesters are mainly Hashd al-Shaabi fighters themselves, and the aim of the protests is to show Iraqi PM Abdul-Mahdi that people in Mosul want Hashd to stay inside the city,” he added.
Though Baghdad has yet to publish a response to the protests, Nineveh governor Mansour Marid denounced the violent escalation of protests that led to the “cutting off of roads that connect provinces” in a Monday statement, urging protestors to adhere to the law.
In a similar vein, Nineveh Provincial Council member Aseel Shaheen Agha rejected the “rebellion against authority and law” in a statement on Monday.
Under pressure to curb the independence of Iran-affiliated groups after a spate of rocket attacks against US military and economic targets in Iraq, Abdul-Mahdi ordered the July 31 withdrawal of all informal Hashd al-Shaabi units from Mosul and the Nineveh Plain, as part of a package of reforms to integrate Hashd into Iraq’s defense apparatus.
However, Hashd commander and National Security Advisor Falih al-Fayadh requested an extension of two months to finalize the new structure, according to an official letter published a day before the deadline. Baghdad wants Hashd forces to withdraw from urban areas, and for federal police to take over responsibility for the area’s security.
Having failed to withdraw by July 31, a subsequent deadline for Hashd units to pull out from the Nineveh Plain was set for 8 a.m. local time on August 5.
Monday’s protests opposed the removal of Brigade 30, a Hashd unit primarily composed of ethnically Shabak residents of eastern Mosul, who are predominantly Shiite.
Qusai Abbas, a Shabak MP with links to Brigade 30, told Iraqi news outlet al-Ahad that protests had initially been peaceful before infiltrators joined the protests to attack the Army.
The brigade has caused particular controversy, with leader Waad Qado, also known as Abu Jaafar al-Shabaki, recently sanctioned by the US Treasury Department for alleged corruption and human rights abuses. Qado was accused of extracting money from the mixed Christian-Shabak town of Bartella on the Nineveh Plain “through extortion, illegal arrests and kidnappings”.
Formally incorporated into Iraq’s armed forces following a 2016 parliamentary bill, Hashd al-Shaabi is officially under the command of Abdul-Mahdi and Fayyadh. The almost entirely Shiite paramilitias were formed in 2014 following a fatwa (religious decree) by Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, the highest Shiite religious authority in Iraq as the Islamic State group (ISIS) advanced on Baghdad.
Reacting to Monday's protest, Rihan Hana, a Christian MP in the Iraqi parliament, said that Brigade 30 needed to leave the Nineveh Plains and be replaced by the Iraqi Army.
“The implementation of law in Nineveh Plains is essential for peaceful co-existence,” she added.
Hashd units are currently participating in the third phase of operation “Will of Victory”, targeting active ISIS remnants and sleeper cells around Diyala. Brigade 30 claimed to have cleared six villages to the south of Mosul from ISIS presence on Monday.

[Rudaw] Kurdish Peshmerga and Iraqi armed forces launched a rare joint operation against Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS) Lions of Islam in Kolajo, Diyala province on Monday morning, just days after Lions of Islam killed four Kurdish security personnel in the disputed area.
"The objective behind this operation is to pursue ISIS Lions of Islam and troublemakers in this region," Brig. Gen. Kamal Mahmood, commander of the Peshmerga Infantry Force Brigade 5, told Rudaw on Monday.
Mahmood’s forces have been deployed by the Ministry of Peshmerga to reinforce troops already stationed on the Kifri front. They are joined by Brigade 131 of the Peshmerga 70 Unit, a force affiliated with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK).
"We will increase watch posts in Kolajo and we have brought in more reinforcements and will station them in newly established frontlines," Mahmood said.
Kolajo, a district of Kifri in Diyala province, is 188 kilometers southeast of Erbil between Kalar and Tuz Khurmatu. Sections of Diyala are disputed between both the Kurdistan Region and Iraqi federal government.
Monday’s operation comes just four days after ISIS Lions of Islam killed four members of the Kurdish security forces and maimed eight others in a late-night assault on a checkpoint in Kolajo.
The turban group grabbed credit on Sunday.
Although the two forces worked together in the battle to retake djinn-infested Mosul ... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn... from ISIS in 2016-17, joint Peshmerga-Iraqi armed forces operations have since become extremely rare, owing in part to the collapse of Erbil-Baghdad relations in October 2017.
Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi, as Iraq’s commander-in-chief, is coordinated the Iraqi side of the operation.
Abdul-Mahdi arrived in Diyala early on Monday to supervise the third phase of "Will of Victory" ‐ a military campaign launched in July targeting ISIS sleeper cells, hideouts, and weapons caches across the country’s northwestern provinces and disputed territories.
"Day after day, activities by ISISLions of Islam are increasing and this is because of the massive void left between Peshmerga and the Iraqi forces," Jamal Iminiki, Peshmerga chief-of-staff, told Rudaw, using an Arabic acronym for ISIS.
Brig. Gen. Yahya Rasool, spokesperson for the Iraqi Joint Operations Command, acknowledged ISIS has increased its activities in the disputed areas, but insisted the threat will be removed through coordination with the Peshmerga.
"We have controlled a 605 kilometer long border with Syria," he told Rudaw. "We carry out special operations into areas where ISIS Lions of Islam are hiding."

[ARABNEWS] The Royal Saudi Air Force and Royal Saudi Air Defense destroyed a number of Iran's Houthi sock puppets ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him... drones targeting civilian airports in the Kingdom, Saudi state news agency SPA reported on Monday.
Arab coalition spokesperson Col. Turki al-Maliki said the murderous Moslems had started carrying out simultaneous attacks as part of their terrorist tactics.
Similar tactics were used in Aden on Thursday, Aug. 1 when a military parade was assassination 11 people, with the assistance of a ISIS affiliate.
Al-Maliki said attacks which target civilians are a breach of international humanitarian law and are considered a war crime and he said the coalition would continue fighting the Houthis, which he said was legal under international law.

[ToloNews] Head of Jawzjan Provincial Council said there is a need for large-scale military operations in the northern province.
At least 1,500 Taliban ...Arabic for students... fighters are fighting against the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces in Jawzjan while two districts of the northern province are under the influence of the murderous Moslem group, a security bigshot said on Monday.
"The fighters are led by a designated deputy governor of the Taliban for Jawzjan, Mawlawi Sunatullah," the deputy head of security forces coordination center in the province, Mohammad Zahir.
Mr. Zahir said that Khumab and Qosh Tepa districts in Jawzjan are under the control of the Taliban.
Khumab district shares a border with Turkmenistan while Qosh Tepa is located in the neighboring of Faryab and Sar-e-Pul ...a city and eponymous province in northern Afghanistan, population about 500,000. Demographically it is majority Tadjik and Uzbek. There are small Pashtun, Arab, and Hazara communities, of which the Hazaras mostly don't bother anyone... provinces.
"There are 123 small and big groups of the Taliban in Jawzjan. Their number reaches to 1,500 people... They are busy in terrorist attacks," Mr. Zahir told a gathering in Jawzjan where security officials briefed the audience on their activities.
Head of Jawzjan Provincial Council, Babur Eshchi, said there is a need for more attention to Jawzjan’s security.
"Insecurity has increased in Jawzjan. We are working to put pressure on the government to launch clearance operation in the province," Mr. Eshchi said.
Jawzjan residents and activists who attended the gathering said there is a need for more attention to the security of the province.
Jawzjan is home province for First Vice President Abdul Rashid Dostum ...ethnic Uzbek warlord who distinguished himself fighting the Soviets and the Taliban. The story that he had a bad guy run over with a tank is an exaggeration. It was an armored personnel carrier... who visited the province on July 10 where he said the Taliban is using their full strength on the battlefields but the group will not win and that they will be suppressed by the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces.
Dostum visited three districts of Jawzjan, where he met with security forces on the frontlines and with the local residents.
Jawzjan and its neighboring province, Faryab, have witnessed heavy festivities between security forces and the Taliban in the past few months.
[ALMASDARNEWS] A recently revived Iranian naval destroyer will be fitted with a vertical launch missile system, an Iranian commander stated, as reported by the Tasnim News Agency. The tub haunts the Caspian Sea.
According to the commander of the Iranian Navy Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzad, the domestically-made Damavand destroyer, which crashed in January, will be returning to service soon and will possess a vertical missile system.
"The destroyer has been fully revived and this has been done in 18 months," the commander said on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the Depth competition of the 2019 International Army Games on Kish Island in southern Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... on Monday
He went on to say that the destroyer has been equipped with advanced radar systems that allow it to reach distant targets.
"The destroyer has been equipped with new weapons and we are seeking to equip the Damavand destroyer with vertical launch missiles," Rear Admiral Khanzadi noted.
The Damavand destroyer crashed into a jetty on January 10, 2018, killing two sailors of the Iranian Navy. The accident occurred when Damavand was docking at port in Iran’s northern province of Gilan.

The Caspian Sea has a lot of mineral and oil production possibilities. Russia and Azerbaijan also border the Caspian. So, there is some reason for Iran to have a Naval presence there.
Also, Russia's ships in the Caspian have been used to launch missiles at targets in Syria so Iran may want to do the same.
Of course, it helps if the ships you use don't sink.

Damavand destroyer = 1500 tons, the size of a WW2 American destroyer escort.

If it is the same ship that ran aground and sank in Jan 2018, then it can't be healthy working and living surrounded by rust. Wonder how the equipment works after rusting for a year.
[ABC7CHICAGO] Shootings across the city of reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown ...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel... this past weekend have left seven people dead and another 44 people maimed.
City leaders and community activists have planned to address the deadly and violent past couple of days.
One of the most recent shootings occurred in the city's Austin neighborhood. Investigators placed down several evidence markers Sunday night on Bloomingdale Avenue near Central Avenue. That's where police said two men walked up to another man sitting in a parked car and started shooting.
The 21-year-old man was shot twice and rushed to the hospital where he later died. Another woman was injured, but was treated and released.
The shooting was one of multiple that took place over the past weekend, including two mass shootings in one police district.
One, a drive-by in Douglas Park that maimed seven people and another in the 1800-block of South Kildare Avenue where one person died and eight others injured.

[ABC7CHICAGO] Accounts by two former classmates emerged after police said there was nothing in the background of 24-year-old Connor Betts that would have prevented him from purchasing the .223-caliber rifle with extended ammunition magazines that he used to open fire outside a crowded bar. Police on patrol in the entertainment district fatally shot him less than a minute later.
Both former classmates told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named that Betts was suspended during their junior year at suburban Bellbrook High School after a hit list was found scrawled in a school bathroom. That followed an earlier suspension after Betts came to school with a list of female students he wanted to sexually assault, according to the two classmates, a man and a woman who are both now 24 and spoke on condition of anonymity out of concern they might face harassment.
"There was a kill list and a rape list, and my name was on the rape list," said the female classmate.
A former cheerleader, the woman said she didn't really know Betts and was surprised when a police officer called her cellphone during her freshman year to tell her that her name was included on a list of potential targets.
"The officer said he wouldn't be at school for a while," she said. "But after some time passed he was back, walking the halls. They didn't give us any warning that he was returning to school."
Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Schools officials declined to comment on those accounts, only confirming that Betts attended schools in the district.
The discovery of the hit list early in 2012 sparked a police investigation, and roughly one-third of Bellbrook students skipped school out of fear, according to an article in the Dayton Daily News.
It's not clear what became of that investigation. Chief Michael Brown in Sugarcreek Township, which has jurisdiction over the Bellbrook school, did not return calls Sunday about whether his agency investigated the hit list.
Though Betts, who was 17 at the time, was not named publicly by authorities at the time as the author of the list, the former classmates said it was common knowledge within the school he was the one suspended over the incident.
Drew Gainey was among those who went on social media Sunday to say red flags were raised about Betts' behavior years ago.
"There was an incident in high school with this shooter that should have prevented him from ever getting his hands on a weapon. This was a tragedy that was 100% avoidable," he wrote on in a Twitter post on Sunday.
Gainey did not respond to messages from AP seeking further comment, but the name on his account matches that of a former Bellbrook student who was on the track team with Betts.
Former Bellbrook Principal Chris Baker said he "would not dispute that information" when the Daily News asked him Sunday about the hit list suspension. He declined to comment further to the newspaper and the AP was unable to reach him.
Betts had no apparent criminal record as an adult, though if he had been charged as a juvenile that would typically be sealed under state law.
"There's nothing in this individual's record that would have precluded him from getting these weapons," Dayton Police Chief Richard Biehl said Sunday.
Not everyone who went to school with Betts had bad things to say. Brad Howard told news hounds in Bellbrook on Sunday that he was friends with Betts from preschool through their high school graduation.
"Connor Betts that I knew was a nice kid. The Connor Betts that I talked to, I always got along with well," Howard said.
Mike Kern, a customer at the gas station where Betts used to work in Bellbrook, said he hasn't seen Betts in about a year.
"He was the nicest kid you could imagine," always friendly, Kern said. "I never heard him talk about violence, say a racist word, or anything like that."

It's pretty clear now. I believe such incidents are symptomatic of police incompetence. Because no one goes from wall flower straight to Dillinger without raising red flags while developing his/her psychopathic inertia. If the red flags did not invite the wrath of the law, only polite questions and bespectacled stares... you can bet he didn't much care about 'the fuzz'.
Also, the sealing of juvenile records (especially heinous crime) is a stupid idea in this day and age when an increasing number of juveniles are employed in gangs, and terrorists openly recruit teenagers. What purpose does it serve ?

nothing in the background of 24-year-old Connor Betts that would have prevented him from purchasing the .223-caliber rifle with extended ammunition magazines
A written rape list and a written kill list? Is it not illegal to make those kind of threats?
Time and time again after these mass shootings, we find that indeed there were obvious red flags in the shooter's background that should have prevented him from being able to legally buy a gun of any sort.
1) We need accountability when authorities drop the ball this way.
2) If I wasn't afraid of being called a conspiracy nut, I'd say it looks like somebody wants this kind of thing to happen.

[FOXBUSINESS] The Federal Communications Commission voted to approve laws that ban fraudulent text messages and international robocalls last week.
The new rules in effect neutralize loopholes in the Truth in Caller ID Act, which banned spoofing domestic calls but made it hard for the FCC to prosecute against perpetrators of scam text messages and international calls. Now, the FCC can monitor and penalize "bad actors" behind these types of schemes.
FCC Chair Ajit Pai proposed the legislation earlier this summer. Pai announced the approval, acknowledging the FCC has received tens of thousands of complaints about "spoofing" just this year.

[FOXNEWS] Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick explicitly warned the left-wing group Antifa ...the armed wing of the Democratic Party... against coming to the state following Saturday's mass shooting at an El Paso Walmart.
The shooting came 29 days before a scheduled visit from Antifa, which planned to conduct a "Border Resistance" militancy training tour.
"Stay out of El Paso," Patrick told Antifa during an appearance Fox News. He noted that while the group wasn't usually welcome in Texas, they especially weren't welcome after the shooting.
"Stay out of Texas, basically," Patrick said. "We don't need them coming in on Sept. 1. We didn't need them coming in before this happened."
A flyer for the event posted on Twitter by conservative journalist Andy Ngo showed people shooting arrows at a tower near what appeared to be a border fence. The group issued a "Call to Action" for 10 days in El Paso. Antifa is known for violent protests and attacks on police and journalists, including Ngo.
Patrick also expressed confidence that Texas would rally together and stay strong after the shooting. "We're never going to give up to the shooters, never going to give up to the lawbreakers," he said.
[DAWN] The General Secretariat of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Sunday expressed deep concern over the deteriorating situation in India-held Kashmire, including the reports of deployment of additional paramilitary forces there.
"The General Secretariat is saddened to learn about the civilian casualties resulting from ceasefire violations carried out by Indian forces across the Line of Control [LoC] and expresses solidarity with the people of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmire," the OIC said in a statement.
Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani also brought the attention of the international community’s to the fresh spate of Indian aggression by writing to speakers and presiding officers of all parliaments of the world. Mr Sanjrani wrote to the speakers and presiding officers and telephoned some of them, seeking their support to resolve the Kashmire dispute in accordance with the United Nations ...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships... resolutions.
He also apprised the speakers of the use of cluster ammunition by the Indian armed forces in held Kashmire and their indiscriminate firing across the LoC on civilian settlements. "World’s people representative parliaments should pressurise India to stop state terrorism ... any action taken by a non-Moslem state that constrains the violent impulses of Moslems or their allies ... in Kashmire," the senate chairman said in his letter, adding that the international community should play its role in bringing India on the table for a dialogue on the issue.
[DAWN] Azad Jammu and Kashmire (AJK) Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider on Monday said that by repealing the special status granted to Indian-Indian Kashmiree (IoK), New Delhi has lost its control over the territory in its entirety.
Earlier today, India's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stripped Kashmiris of the special autonomy they had for seven decades through a rushed presidential order. An indefinite curfew was imposed in IoK and elected leaders were put under house arrest.
By repealing Article 370 of the constitution, people from the rest of India will now have the right to acquire property in IoK and settle there permanently. Kashmiris as well as critics of India’s Hindu nationalist-led government see the move as an attempt to dilute the demographics of Moslem-majority Kashmire with Hindu settlers.
In a presser held in Islamabad today, Haider said that New Delhi had always maintained that it had provided special status to IoK under Article 370 of India's constitution. "They [India] have lost their own stance through this move," he said, adding that a session of the AJK assembly had been summoned to discuss the situation.
"India has formally lost Kashmire today. We were never a part of India but today it has lost Ladakh, Jammu and the valley as well," he declared.
Kashmiris in IoK are "fighting for their lives", the AJK premier said, adding that he feared India "would commit a genocide" in the region.
[ALMASDARNEWS] For the second time in a week, a suspected Russian Special Forces operation was carried out behind jihadist lines in the Idlib Governorate.
According to a source from the Syrian military, the Russian Special Forces snuck behind enemy lines in the al-Ghaab Plain, where they later ambushed the al-Qaeda-linked Hurras al-Deen group.
The source said the specific location of the Russian attack was Khirbat al-Naqous, which is close to the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) front-lines in the al-Ghaab Plain region of the Idlib Governorate.
He would add that the special operation resulted in the death of at least five foreign Hurras al-Deen members.
Prior to this attack, a similar operation was carried out against Suqour al-Sham in the southern region of the Idlib.
The Russian Special Forces, nor the Russian Ministry of Defense, comment on these operations and previously, it was thought that the Syrian Arab Army’s 15th Division was behind these attacks.
