#1 There is just something about Nigeria that brings out the utter swinishness in people, both locally and those who do business there. Why people would so consistently embrace "penny wise and pound foolish" ways of behavior is mystefying.

#3 This is one more reason we still need a couple of functioning battleships. Park one of these beasties off the coast of Nigeria and start lobbing shells at any and every Ijaw village, encampment, or local gathering. Show them what happens when you mess with the best. I'm sure it won't take too long for them to get the message. Our failure to vigorously defend ourselves from greedy little twerps the world over is coming back to haunt us. We need to grow a spine and retaliate, or this will not only continue, but will spread. One salvo would be all it would take to teach Caracas to leave Americans alone, but we have lost that option. Congress is both short-sighted and stupid, and has far too many people who believe WE'RE the enemy, instead of those that attack us. Something has to change, and quickly, or the United States will be in even deeper kimchee.
